Ethereum roste díky přílivu do ETF a buy signálu
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Ethereum surged above $1,700 on July 3, trading close to $1,715 after a rise of more than 6% in the past 24 hours. The move marked a notable recovery from recent downward pressure and brought the cryptocurrency back into the spotlight at a closely watched technical level.

Spot ETF inflows and a critical price thresholdAlongside Ethereum’s climb, US spot Ethereum ETFs saw a sharp uptick in inflows. Data from SoSoValue showed a total net inflow of $29.08 million into these ETFs on July 2. BlackRock’s ETHA fund accounted for the bulk of this movement with $29.74 million in net inflows, while Grayscale’s ETHE fund recorded $2.75 million in net outflows on the same day.

Market analyst Daan Crypto Trades noted that Ethereum jumped 10% on a weekly basis, retesting the $1,750 level that marked the February lows. According to the analyst, holding above this level signals a strengthening price structure and points to a key technical threshold for the asset.

Daan Crypto Trades highlighted that reclaiming the $1,750 zone could be seen as a sign of strength, though he indicated he would keep watching the price action around resistance as the close approached.

Rare technical indicator flashes buy signalA TD Sequential buy signal also appeared on Ethereum’s monthly chart, grabbing market attention due to its infrequency. Technical analyst Ali Charts commented that this signal, while rare, could mean sellers are becoming exhausted on longer time frames.

Mini glossary: The TD Sequential is a technical indicator developed by Tom DeMark, designed to identify points where a market trend may be weakening and potential reversal zones may emerge. It does not, however, confirm a trend reversal on its own.

Historical data shows that previous monthly TD Sequential buy signals have preceded rallies of 235% in 2022 and 182% in 2025. However, analysts caution that a single signal does not guarantee the start of a new uptrend.

Ali Charts emphasized that July began with a strong technical signal for Ethereum, with the market now closely monitoring the TD Sequential buy setup on the monthly chart.

Technical indicators and on-chain market flowsOn the technical side, Ethereum’s MACD histogram entered positive territory at 19.33, with the MACD line moving above the signal line. Despite these moves, both indicators remained below the zero line. The RSI climbed to approximately 51.85, rising above both its moving average and the neutral 50 threshold.

The price recovered from a double-bottom formation around $1,565. In the near term, the first resistance level for Ethereum lies at $1,800, followed by a significant barrier at $2,000. The liquidity concentration between $1,740 and $1,750 is also drawing attention for short-term price action.

In derivatives markets, open interest surged 10.64% to $24.54 billion. Trading volume rose 14.48% to $44.74 billion. Funding rates spiked 113.86%, suggesting a notable increase in leveraged long positions.

On-chain analyst Darkfost from CryptoQuant observed that ETH withdrawals from Binance hit their highest level in three years, exceeding 166,000 in just 24 hours. In contrast, PelinayPA noted that Binance’s net flow stood at a positive 12,938 ETH, meaning more ETH was deposited than withdrawn. On the institutional side, BitMine added 27,084 ETH to surpass a total holding of 5.7 million ETH, while SharpLink acquired 10,000 ETH valued at $16.1 million during the recent drop.

Německé banky spouštějí obchodování s kryptoměnami v aplikacích

CoinGecko News 88

Germany’s savings and cooperative banks are rolling out crypto trading to retail clients, wiring Bitcoin (BTC) into the apps of institutions that hold roughly 80 million customer relationships in a country of 84 million people.

The Sparkassen serve about 50 million customers, per DSGV data, and the cooperative banks another 30 million, per BVR figures. Both groups dismissed the asset class as too risky just four years ago.

German Banks That Rejected Crypto Trading Now Court MillionsAccording to Bloomberg, both groups are building in-house services rather than steering clients to outside exchanges. DZ Bank’s meinKrypto platform already runs inside the VR Banking App, offering BTC, Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Cardano (ADA).

BaFin licensed meinKrypto under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework in late December 2025, per DZ Bank’s announcement. Boerse Stuttgart Digital handles custody, keeping the whole chain under German supervision.

DekaBank is building the equivalent product for the roughly 340 savings banks, with a phased launch later this year. Each of the almost 650 cooperative banks and every Sparkasse opts in individually. DZ Bank product specialist Markus Bärenfänger expects hundreds to join.

Germany’s Local Banks Bring Crypto Trading to Millions in Major Mainstream Adoption PushThe reversal is stark. The savings banks considered crypto trading in 2021, then shelved it over incalculable risks. MiCA has since opened the door for Germany’s largest financial institutions.

Trust Advantage Collides With Total Loss WarningsThe trust math explains the bet. Germans trust their primary bank twice as much as specialized crypto platforms, 38% to 19%, per a Boerse Stuttgart Digital survey. However, only about a quarter have invested in crypto, in line with broader European adoption figures.

That trust is precisely what worries critics. Co-Pierre Georg, professor at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, argues that traditional bank customers may not grasp the risks.

“It is concerning that the floodgates to the cryptocurrency market are now being opened by savings and cooperative banks,” Co-Pierre Georg, professor at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, via Bloomberg.

Even the savings banks’ own lobby group, DSGV, calls crypto a highly speculative investment carrying the risk of total loss. It frames the service as suitable for self-directed investors only.

Timing sharpens the debate. Bitcoin trades near $62,483 after falling roughly 50% from its October 2025 record of $126,080.

Bitcoin Price Performance. Source: BeInCryptoThe German lenders also join a wider European shift. UBS opened crypto trading for private clients in January.

For local banks, the payoff may be relevance rather than revenue. Westerwald Bank chief Ralf Kölbach warns that lenders skipping crypto lose younger, tech-savvy customers.

The bigger test is whether bank-branded credibility can survive the market’s next deep drawdown.

Ethereum withdrawals on Binance have caught the crypto world’s attention with one of the most remarkable moves in recent months. According to CryptoQuant data, 166 thousand ETH left the exchange in the past 24 hours, marking the strongest daily outflow recorded since March 2023.

Outflows hit a three-year highThe data show that Ethereum withdrawals from Binance have surged to their highest level in over three years. This move comes as the market is searching for direction and signals a notable shift in investor behavior. As one of the world’s highest-volume crypto exchanges, large withdrawals from Binance tend to be watched closely by market observers.

CryptoQuant data revealed that the Ethereum withdrawals on Binance have reached their highest point in more than three years, with 166 thousand ETH leaving the platform in the past 24 hours.

The sharp spike in withdrawals has fueled the view that crypto investors may be choosing to move their assets off exchanges and into long-term storage. The fact that this activity took place while the Ethereum price hovered around $1,500 has fueled speculation that some investors find this zone a compelling buying opportunity.

Mini glossary: CryptoQuant is an analytics platform that tracks the crypto market using on-chain blockchain data and exchange flows. Large outflows from exchanges are at times interpreted as a signal that investors may prefer holding over selling.

Ethereum seeks a recoverySince its latest peak at the start of 2025, Ethereum has faced sustained correction pressure, with its value dropping about 67%. Interestingly, over the same period, Ethereum’s decline has outpaced Bitcoin’s pullback by roughly 15 percentage points.

MetricDataDaily ETH outflow from Binance166 thousand ETHPrevious similar outflow recordHighest since March 2023ETH change since 2025 peak67% declinePrice movement in last 48 hoursApproximately 10% riseDespite this, there have been signs of price recovery over the last two days. Ethereum climbed roughly 10% in 48 hours to again top $1,700. The timing of both the withdrawal surge and rising prices has prompted debate over whether accumulation momentum is returning to the market.

The sharp withdrawal activity in Ethereum took place while the price steadied near $1,500, fueling expectations that some investors view this level as a bargain-buying opportunity.

The latest volatility shows how quickly investor sentiment can shift. Especially for major exchanges, sizable asset outflows offer key signals on how investors are positioning themselves and may hold clues beyond short-term price action.

3 July 2026 | 19:55 The Ethereum derivatives market is flashing a fascinating divergence: trader conviction is recovering much faster than the underlying spot price.

Following a sharp flush out in early June, leverage is quietly returning to the market. However, unlike previous speculative peaks, this rebuilding phase is characterized by localized aggressive positioning rather than market-wide exhaustion.

Key Takeaways ETH funding rates hit 0.016% despite lower prices. Total open interest sits at $4.35B, avoiding overheating. Bullish conviction rebuilds with ETH 15-20% below peaks. Conviction Leading Price The first clear signal of returning bullish sentiment shows up in funding rates, the periodic fee paid between long and short traders to keep perpetual contract prices pegged to the spot index.

Ethereum funding rates across all exchanges. Currently, funding rates across major exchanges have accelerated back to approximately 0.016%. To put this in perspective, this is significantly higher than the 0.009% levels observed in late May, even though Ethereum was trading much higher at the time ($2,000–$2,150).

Late May Pre-Washout vs. Current Stabilization ETH Spot Price: $2,000 – $2,150 in late May vs. $1,730 at the time of writing. Average Funding Rate: ~0.009% in late May vs. ~0.016% currently. Total Open Interest: High peak over $12B in late May vs. ~$4.35B (below the 30-day average) currently. When ETH fell to its early June floor near $1,540, a massive wave of leveraged long positions was wiped clean from the order books, temporarily cooling the market. Crucially, funding rates refused to stay negative for any meaningful duration. Short sellers never took dominant control. Instead, as spot prices consolidated and stabilized around the $1,700–$1,730 liquidity pocket after 9% gain for the week according to CoinMarketCap data, buyers aggressively stepped back in, driving the cost of holding leverage to its highest point in weeks.

ETH/USDT daily technical price chart. The Structural Volatility Shield While funding rates show that active traders are increasingly eager to bet on upside, the second dataset proves that the broader market is not yet dangerously over-leveraged.

Binance’s 30-day Open Interest (OI) Z-Score, which measures how far current leverage volume deviates from its statistical average, currently sits at -0.56, according to report, shared by CryptoQuant. Total open interest across the market is hovering around $4.35 billion, remaining comfortably below the 30-day baseline of $4.81 billion.

Binance ETH Open Interest Z-Score analysis. What this tells us is that while individual participants are using higher leverage (high funding), the total volume of leveraged positions in the system is still entirely manageable. The speculative excesses of early cycle shifts might be successfully digested.

This localized positioning marks a pivotal shift from the retail-led euphoria that defined the 2025 cycle peaks. In previous rallies, market-wide leverage was often driven by speculative cascades, where retail over-leveraging forced rapid, correlated liquidations. Conversely, the current fragmentation suggests that institutional allocators are re-entering with a more surgical approach.

Data from SoSoValue reinforces this thesis, showing a clear, consecutive ramp in Ethereum Spot ETF inflows, climbing from $14.89M on July 1 to $29.08M by July 2. This reversal follows a grueling nine-day streak of consecutive net outflows, underscores a deliberate, capital-intensive accumulation phase.

For these desks, a non-correlated recovery is actually a health signal; it indicates that the market is currently supported by structural demand rather than reactive, emotion-driven sentiment. By avoiding a broad, systemic blow-up, the market is constructing a more durable floor. This layout makes the current environment significantly more attractive for institutional mandates that prioritize structural stability over parabolic, high-risk exposure.

Will Spot Follow Derivatives? This structural layout sets up a high-stakes race between derivatives conviction and spot market demand.

Positive funding rates are fundamentally healthy during sustained uptrends; they signal an appetite for risk and structural momentum. The underlying risk surfaces when derivatives positioning outpaces spot market accumulation.

If Ethereum’s spot demand strengthens and absorbs this momentum, the rising funding rates could serve as fuel for a clean, sustainable recovery. However, if spot buying fails to break key overhead resistance levels, these newly minted, high-funding long positions will become exposed. A failure to move higher could transform this growing optimism into a localized liquidation trap, prompting short-term cascade liquidations and heightened volatility.

The early June washout effectively cleared the board, but it did not break the underlying risk-on bias of the market. With traders front-running a recovery while ETH still sits 15-20% below its spring highs, all eyes now turn to spot order books to validate the move.

Solana překonává Ethereum v aktivitě i poplatcích
ETH Ethereum SOL Solana
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Solana now beats Ethereum on trading volume, active users, and fee revenue. Ethereum still holds the money. Halfway through 2026, the question is no longer who is faster. It is whether the two chains are even running the same race.

Summary

Solana has overtaken Ethereum in Layer 1 activity with higher transaction volume, more active users, stronger DEX trading, and greater fee revenue. Ethereum continues to dominate in total value locked, stablecoin liquidity, institutional adoption, and developer activity despite losing ground in onchain usage. The rivalry has shifted from a direct competition into two distinct models, with Ethereum focused on settlement and custody while Solana leads in trading and execution. There was a time when the Ethereum versus Solana debate could be settled with a smirk and an outage screenshot. Solana was the chain that went down. Ethereum was the chain that mattered. Then Solana stopped going down, its trading volume flipped Ethereum’s, its ETF launched to institutional inflows while Ethereum funds bled for seventeen straight days, and the smirk changed sides.

Halfway through 2026, both tokens are deep in a bear market. ETH trades near $1,714 after a brutal second quarter that included a 29.5% thirty-day drawdown at the June lows, its worst quarterly stretch in years. SOL trades near $81, down roughly 78% from its cycle high, hit even harder in raw percentage terms. Price settles nothing here. The interesting story is underneath, in the on-chain data, where the two networks have diverged so completely that comparing them now requires deciding which metrics count.

So: is Ethereum losing the L1 race to Solana? The honest answer is that Solana has already won several of the events, Ethereum still owns the ones with the most prize money, and the race itself has split into two different sports.

How we got here: a short history of a long feud The rivalry has run through three distinct acts, and the current one makes no sense without the first two.

Act one, 2021 through 2022, was Solana as the venture-backed challenger: a chain built for speed, championed by Sam Bankman-Fried, and dismissed by Ethereum partisans as a centralized science project. The dismissal briefly looked like prophecy. Solana suffered repeated full-network outages, including the infamous February 2024 halt that lasted nearly five hours after a legacy loader bug forced a coordinated validator restart, and when FTX collapsed in November 2022, SOL crashed toward single digits as the market priced in guilt by association. Obituaries were published. Several were smug.

Act two, 2023 through 2024, was the resurrection nobody ordered. Solana’s developer community kept shipping through the winter, the Jupiter and Jito ecosystems matured, memecoin mania found its natural home on the only chain where a thousand trades cost less than a sandwich, and DEX volume began the climb that ended with the flip of Ethereum in late 2024. Ethereum spent the same period executing its own plan flawlessly and discovering the plan had a hole in it: the Dencun upgrade in March 2024 introduced blob space and cut L2 costs by an order of magnitude, which supercharged rollup adoption while gutting the fee burn that had underwritten the ultrasound money narrative. Activity exploded across the Ethereum stack, and ETH the asset captured almost none of it.

Act three is now: both chains institutionally legitimate, both tokens deep underwater, and the argument relocated from architecture threads to fund flow tables. Uniswap founder Hayden Adams warned back in 2025 that Ethereum’s confused scaling identity could hand DeFi leadership to Solana; in 2026 that warning reads less like a hot take and more like a memo the market already acted on.

The scoreboard, metric by metric Start with what Solana has flatly won: activity.

On a representative day in late June, Solana processed 127 million transactions from more than 2 million active addresses. Ethereum mainnet processed 2.8 million transactions from roughly 512,000 active addresses. That is not a gap. That is a different order of magnitude. Solana sustains 600 to 700 real transactions per second on average against Ethereum L1’s 15 to 20, at a cost of roughly $0.00025 per transaction against Ethereum’s dollars-per-swap mainnet pricing.

Trading volume tells the same story. Solana’s weekly DEX volume hit $11.49 billion in April against Ethereum’s $7.62 billion, a 51% lead. In February the monthly gap was wider still: $117 billion on Solana against $52 billion on Ethereum, more than double. Jupiter, the aggregator that routes the overwhelming majority of Solana order flow across Raydium, Orca, Phoenix, and Meteora, alone processes $2 billion to $4 billion in daily volume. Solana flipped Ethereum on DEX volume in late 2024 and has held the lead through every market condition since.

Then comes the metric that should worry Ethereum researchers most: revenue.

Solana generates over $1 million in chain fees per day. The major Ethereum L2s, where most Ethereum user activity now lives, generate under $200,000 combined, because blob-based data posting after the Dencun upgrade pushed L2 costs, and therefore L2 fee revenue, toward zero. Ethereum deliberately commoditized its own execution layer to win the rollup war. The result is a settlement layer with shrinking direct income and a rival that monetizes every swap on a single unified ledger.

Now flip the card, because Ethereum’s wins are just as lopsided.

Total value locked Ethereum L1 holds roughly $55.6 billion in DeFi deposits, around 68% of the entire global DeFi market, and the combined L1 plus L2 figure exceeds $80 billion. Solana holds between $8 billion and $12 billion depending on the week and the methodology, a figure that took a $270 million hit in April when the Drift Protocol exploit tore through its perps ecosystem. The deepest protocols in the industry, Lido at $27.5 billion, Aave at $27 billion, EigenLayer at $13 billion, all live on Ethereum, and Aave V4 launched on Ethereum mainnet in April to reinforce the point.

Stablecoins Ethereum hosts roughly 70% of all on-chain stablecoin supply, around $32 billion in USDC and $60 billion in USDT, and remains the venue where BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and JPMorgan build tokenized products first. Solana carries about $14 billion in stablecoins, though each of those dollars turns over roughly six times faster than its Ethereum counterpart.

Developers Ethereum counted 31,869 active developers against Solana’s 17,708 at the latest Electric Capital reading, and added more new developers over the trailing year than any other ecosystem. Solana ranked second.

One chain has the users, the volume, and the revenue. The other has the money, the institutions, and the builders. Losing, it turns out, depends entirely on where you point the camera.

How the race split in two The reason the comparison keeps producing contradictory answers is that the two chains stopped competing on the same terms years ago, a divergence we chronicled when the ecosystems first collided in early 2025.

Ethereum abandoned the monolithic race on purpose. Its roadmap treats the base layer as settlement infrastructure while execution migrates to rollups: Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, and a long tail of zk systems that post proofs and data back to mainnet. Base alone captures nearly half of all L2 DeFi value, Arbitrum another 31%, and the top three rollups process close to 90% of all L2 transactions. Measured as a stack, the Ethereum ecosystem still dwarfs Solana on almost every capital metric. Measured as an L1, Ethereum mainnet is a slow, expensive chain that its own designers no longer intend retail users to touch.

Solana made the opposite bet: one ledger, one global state, sub-second finality at 400 milliseconds, and a relentless engineering campaign to make the single chain fast enough that nothing else is needed. The Firedancer validator client built by Jump Crypto, rolling toward full deployment late this year, is the endgame of that bet, with a theoretical ceiling measured in the hundreds of thousands of transactions per second. The network reliability problem that defined Solana’s reputation in 2022 and 2023 has largely disappeared; outages went from routine to rare, and the chain has traded its crash-prone image for something closer to an execution monopoly on retail flow.

The philosophical split produces the statistical one. Capital sits and compounds on Ethereum because that is what the architecture rewards: deep pools, long-duration lending, staking layered on restaking. Capital churns on Solana because sub-cent fees make churning free: high-frequency trading, memecoin rotation, dollar-cost-average bots, payments. Ethereum became the deposit ledger. Solana became the trading floor.

Follow the fees: two broken business models, one working one The revenue gap deserves its own examination, because it is the metric where architecture decisions turn into economics, and where both chains have problems they rarely advertise.

Ethereum’s fee engine used to be the envy of the industry. EIP-1559 burned base fees, high demand made ETH deflationary, and the ultrasound money framing wrote itself. The rollup migration dismantled the machine step by step. Execution moved to L2s, whose sequencers keep the margin between what users pay and what blob posting costs, and Dencun made blob posting cost next to nothing. The result in 2026: mainnet burns a fraction of its former fee load, L2s pay Ethereum pennies for security worth billions, and the value accrual question, what does ETH earn when Base wins, has replaced scaling as the ecosystem’s defining unsolved problem. Ethereum built a settlement business and priced its product like a public good.

Solana’s engine is simpler and currently stronger: one chain captures every fee at every layer. The base fee is fixed at 5,000 lamports per signature, roughly a hundredth of a cent, while priority fees let users bid during congestion, and stake-weighted quality of service plus local fee markets keep hot accounts from clogging the scheduler. On top of the protocol fees sits the Jito MEV economy, where searcher tips flow to validators and stakers, turning order-flow chaos into staking yield. Over $1 million in daily chain revenue against sub-$200,000 for the entire major L2 basket is the visible output.

The caveat is concentration of source. A large share of Solana’s fee revenue traces to speculative trading, memecoins above all, which makes the revenue line high-beta to the exact market segment least likely to survive a deep winter. Ethereum’s fee problem is structural but its demand is diversified; Solana’s fee machine works beautifully and runs on the most flammable fuel in crypto. Neither model is finished.

Fusaka and the second-half Ethereum upgrade path aim at scaling data further without answering value capture, while Solana’s validator economics, where thin margins already pushed the validator count down 68% from its 2023 peak, depend on fee and MEV income holding up.

The other front: stablecoins, payments, and tokenized everything DEX volume gets the headlines, but the war’s second front may matter more by 2027, because it is the one institutions actually fund: who carries the tokenized economy.

Ethereum’s position is incumbency at scale. Roughly 70% of stablecoin supply, the deep USDC and USDT float that institutional desks require, and essentially the entire first generation of tokenized funds. When Ondo debuted its SEC-aligned tokenized stock model with BlackRock ETF shares this week, the underlying rails were Ethereum-ecosystem by default. Stablecoin legislation cleared the path for bank issuance and for the consortium models now emerging among major institutions, and banks build where the auditors already have coverage, which is one more network effect compounding for the incumbent.

Solana’s position is velocity and consumer reach. Its $14 billion stablecoin float turns over roughly six times faster than Ethereum’s, because sub-cent fees make stablecoins usable as money instead of just collateral. USDC settles on Solana in under a second for a fraction of a cent, which is why Visa chose it for settlement pilots, why payment processors keep adding it, and why the Solana Developer Platform launched with Mastercard, Worldpay, and Western Union rather than with hedge funds. Solana is also mounting a genuine RWA challenge through Token-2022, whose compliance extensions target exactly the issuer requirements Ethereum handles with bespoke contracts, and both chains now face a third competitor for the same institutional flow in the compliance-native stack being assembled on the XRP Ledger.

The stakes here dwarf the DEX war. Stablecoins are a $320 billion asset class growing through legislation, and tokenized funds are the institutional product with the steepest adoption curve. If Ethereum keeps the float while Solana takes the flow, the split-decision structure of this whole rivalry repeats at a much larger scale, with Ethereum as the vault and Solana as the checkout lane of tokenized finance.

The institutional tiebreaker For most of crypto history, the institutional column belonged to Ethereum without argument. That is the column where 2026 has produced genuine movement.

The regulatory sequence mattered first. The SEC’s March 2025 classification of sixteen digital assets including SOL as commodities dissolved the securities overhang that had kept allocators away, and spot Solana ETFs began trading on October 28, 2025, making SOL the third asset after BTC and ETH with U.S. spot fund access. The flows since then have been small next to Bitcoin’s but directionally embarrassing for Ethereum: through the spring drawdown, Solana ETFs crossed $1 billion in cumulative inflows while Ethereum funds posted a seventeen-day outflow streak that stripped hundreds of millions, and July has opened with ETF flow reports showing ETH and SOL products gaining together while Bitcoin funds bleed. Goldman Sachs disclosures showed over $100 million in SOL exposure, and CalPERS entered the asset class the same quarter.

Solana’s institutional push went beyond funds. The Solana Foundation launched its Developer Platform in March with Mastercard, Worldpay, and Western Union among early adopters, shipped a quantum-readiness plan built on the NIST-standardized Falcon signature scheme in April, and rolled out on-chain, stake-weighted validator governance this week. Token-2022 extensions gave the chain the compliance hooks, confidential transfers, transfer restrictions, interest-bearing instruments, that enterprise issuers require. The pitch that Solana is a casino chain unsuitable for serious money has aged badly.

Ethereum’s institutional position remains the stronger one on stock rather than flow. It custodies the tokenized funds, hosts the deep stablecoin float, and runs the staking infrastructure through which more than 35 million ETH, nearly 29% of supply, secures the network across a million-plus validators. When a treasury desk needs to move nine figures with minimal slippage, Ethereum’s depth is still the only game available. BitMine Immersion bought its way past 5 million ETH this spring precisely on that thesis. But stock is what you accumulated yesterday. Flow is what you are winning today, and the flow has been tilting one direction for over a year.

The uncomfortable items on both ledgers Neither chain gets to run its highlight reel without the blooper file.

Solana’s validator count has collapsed to roughly 795 active validators from more than 2,500 in 2023, a 68% decline that concentrates block production and hands critics a decentralization argument with real teeth. Its DeFi remains thin and concentrated: one aggregator with 95% market share is a single point of failure wearing a market structure costume, and the $270 million Drift exploit showed what happens when a load-bearing protocol breaks. Its volume mix still leans on memecoin speculation, the most cyclical demand source in the industry, and February’s $117 billion month can become a $40 billion month without a single thing going wrong technically.

Ethereum’s problems are quieter and arguably deeper. Lido alone controls roughly 24% of staked ETH, a concentration risk of its own. The rollup roadmap solved scaling and created a value-capture puzzle nobody has answered: if execution fees accrue to Base and Arbitrum while blobs cost pennies, what exactly does ETH the asset earn from Ethereum the ecosystem’s growth? Retail has already voted, migrating to L2s so completely that mainnet active addresses look like a ghost town next to Solana’s. And the fragmentation tax is real: liquidity split across a dozen rollups with seven-day optimistic exits is a worse user experience than one chain with 400-millisecond finality, no matter how elegant the settlement theory. The KelpDAO exploit this spring, which erased $13 billion of TVL in 48 hours of contagion, showed that composability depth cuts in both directions.

Both assets, meanwhile, have been terrible investments this year, a market-wide condition tied to the macro regime we examined in the context of Bitcoin’s liquidity dependence. Fee revenue and active addresses have not protected SOL holders from a 78% peak drawdown, and settlement supremacy has not protected ETH holders from underperforming Bitcoin for most of the cycle. Whatever race is being run, neither token’s chart looks like a victory lap, and on-chain fundamentals have been decoupled from price across the majors for much of 2026.

So who is actually winning? Frame the question three ways and you get three defensible answers.

If the L1 race means base-layer usage, Solana won it, and the margin is no longer close. Two hundred times Ethereum’s L1 throughput, forty times its transaction count, five times its daily fee revenue, and a lead in DEX volume that has survived every market regime since late 2024. By the definition of Layer 1 that existed when the rivalry started, the contest is over.

If the race means where value lives, Ethereum is not losing and may never lose within this cycle. A 68% share of global DeFi TVL, 70% of stablecoin supply, the institutional tokenization pipeline, and the largest developer base in the industry constitute a network-effect fortress that Solana’s growth has dented but nowhere near breached. Capital has inertia, and inertia compounds.

If the race means trajectory, the tape favors Solana with an asterisk. It is winning new users, new listed products, new enterprise integrations, and the ETF flow battle. The asterisk is that trajectory arguments assume the current regime persists, and Solana’s flow-heavy economy is more exposed than Ethereum’s stock-heavy one to the next collapse in speculative appetite. Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade cycle and the second-half protocol roadmap that all major chains have queued for late 2026 could reshuffle the technical comparison again.

The most likely outcome is also the least satisfying for partisans: permanent coexistence with divided territory. Ethereum settles and custodies. Solana executes and trades. Builders already behave as if this is settled, deploying on both by default. The 2025 framing of an L1 war with a single survivor has quietly died, not with a bang but with two chains discovering they are optimized for markets the other cannot serve.

What could flip the board before December Split decisions invite the obvious follow-up: what would actually change the standings? Four live catalysts carry enough weight to move the argument rather than the noise.

Ethereum’s upgrade cycle is the first. The Fusaka window and the broader second-half protocol roadmap target another step-change in data capacity, and the ecosystem’s real prize sits next to it: any credible mechanism that routes L2 economic success back into ETH, whether through based sequencing, native rollup designs, or fee-market reform, would repair the value-capture hole that has haunted the asset since Dencun. Markets have front-run Ethereum upgrades before; a roadmap that finally answers the accrual question would be the first fundamental ETH catalyst in two years.

Firedancer completion is the second. Solana’s independent validator client moving to full deployment removes the single-client risk that institutions cite most, and its throughput headroom opens application categories, full order-book markets, high-frequency payment networks, that no chain currently serves. If even one breakout consumer or enterprise application lands on that capacity, Solana’s volume base diversifies away from memecoins, which neutralizes the strongest bear argument against its fee economy.

ETF mechanics are the third. Staking-enabled fund structures, under active regulatory discussion for both assets, would transform the flow picture: a spot product yielding 3% to 7% natively changes the allocator pitch entirely, and the asset that gets staking approval first inherits a durable flow advantage. Watch the filings, not the influencers.

Treasury companies are the fourth and strangest. BitMine’s multimillion-ETH accumulation and the emerging class of SOL treasury vehicles mean corporate balance sheets now sit inside both ecosystems as permanent, price-insensitive holders. The Strategy playbook applied to ETH and SOL is small today; its growth rate through a recovering market could make treasuries the marginal buyer that decides which token outperforms, independent of every on-chain metric in this article.

The verdict for the second half Ethereum is losing the L1 race as originally defined, and it forfeited that race by choice when it went all-in on rollups. Solana is winning everything measurable at the base layer while still trailing badly where the institutional money actually sits. Watch three numbers through December: whether Ethereum ETF flows recover once its next upgrade lands, whether Firedancer’s full rollout converts Solana’s throughput ceiling into new categories of application, and whether Solana DeFi TVL can hold above $12 billion without memecoin volume subsidizing it. The chain that answers its own weakness first will own the 2027 narrative. Until then, the war everyone expected has settled into something stranger: two winners, two different games, and one increasingly obsolete question.

Upbit will add Metaplex (MPLX) for BTC and USDT pairs and Nexus (NEX) for a USDT pair on July 3. Metaplex assists in creating infrastructure for digital assets based on the Solana blockchain, and Nexus builds a Layer 1 blockchain. Upbit, South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange platform, announced the listing of Metaplex (MPLX) and Nexus (NEX). MPLX will be available to trade with BTC and USDT trading pairs on the Solana blockchain platform. NEX will be listed in the USDT market on the Ethereum network. Deposits and withdrawals will start two hours from the time of the announcement.

Scheduled Launch of MPLX and NEX Upbit has announced that MPLX will begin trading at 3:00 PM local time on July 3. Trading for NEX will be launched by the exchange at 6:00 PM local time on July 3. The users have been asked to ensure that deposits happen only through the supported blockchain networks, as deposits made via unsupported networks will not be credited. Upbit has also mentioned that insufficient liquidity may lead to delayed trading due to unfavorable market conditions.

The platform implemented temporary trading restrictions to ensure smooth market operations after listing these two cryptocurrencies. Upbit has put a restriction on buying orders in the first five minutes after trading. All orders, except limit orders, will not be available for 2 hours after listing. Upbit has put a restriction on selling orders that are at least 10% below the previous close price.

Metaplex and Nexus Extend Their Infrastructure Services Metaplex is an infrastructure protocol for digital assets with NFT support, token minting, metadata handling, and mass asset creation in the Solana and Solana Virtual Machine blockchain networks. This protocol allows the standardization of metadata of the assets along with NFT collections, compressed NFTs, and token drops using various ecosystem services. Metaplex also unveiled Agent Registry and Agent Tokens, extending the infrastructure of Metaplex in the direction of on-chain identity registration and token creation. MPLX tokens allow participating in governance, managing treasuries, and certain ecosystem services in the Metaplex DAO.

Nexus builds a Layer 1 blockchain by incorporating verifiable computation capabilities with finance use cases. This network leverages Cosmos SDK, CometBFT, and Ethereum-based smart contracts together with Nexus zkVM for the verification of computing resources from outside the chain. Nexus is also going to extend its ecosystem via Nexus Exchange and the USDX settlement ecosystem. The NEX tokens act as the native gas tokens of the network while staking and compensating computation providers. Upbit also advised users that their deposits should be in compliance with the Travel Rule.

Ethereum roste po spuštění stakovaného fondu BlackRock ETHB
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Table of contents

Remember when I kept telling you to watch the exit doors instead of the price? For weeks, Ethereum‘s supply was quietly tightening, coins leaving exchanges, staking hitting records, while the price did nothing but bleed and everyone ignored it. Well, this week the ignoring stopped.

ETH is trading at $1,719, up 6.4% on the day, the strongest of all the major coins, and up nearly 9% on the week (live ETH price on CoinGecko). And the thing that lit the fuse is exactly the kind of demand the tight supply was waiting for. Let me walk you through it.

The fund that changed the mood Here is the headline that matters. BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, launched a new staked Ethereum fund called ETHB, and it pulled in $100 million on its very first day.

Why is that such a big deal? Two reasons. First, “staked” is the magic word: unlike the older Ethereum ETFs, this fund passes staking yield to investors, the roughly 3% that Ethereum pays for securing the network. That was always Solana’s ETF advantage, and now Ethereum has its own yield-bearing product from the biggest name in finance. Second, $100 million on day one is a statement of demand. After months of watching money drain out of crypto funds, institutions just showed up for Ethereum with real size on the first day they got a product they liked.

And it did not happen in a vacuum. Bitcoin ETFs just logged five straight days of inflows led by BlackRock’s IBIT, the first sustained streak in months. The institutional money that vanished this spring is stepping back in, and Ethereum is getting the biggest single dose of it.

Why ETH is moving so hard Now connect this to the supply story we have been following. Ethereum’s exchange reserves have been sitting at all-time lows around 14.5 million ETH, and the staking ratio at record highs near a third of all supply. Translation: there is less ETH available to buy on the open market than at any point in years.

So what happens when fresh demand, a $100 million fund launch, a short squeeze that liquidated $281 million in bearish bets across crypto, and a dovish shift from Fed Chair Warsh, hits a market with record-thin sellable supply? Exactly what you saw: the price moves fast. A 6.4% daily jump is what a supply squeeze looks like when it finally meets a demand spark. This is the mechanism I have been describing for weeks, just running in the direction nobody positioned for.

The macro helped too. Warsh said inflation risks had eased, the first genuinely dovish note from the new Fed chair, and markets are now watching US jobs data as the next potential fuel. After a hawkish June that crushed crypto, even a small change in the Fed’s tone lands with force.

The honest caveats, as always I owe you the other side, because one great day does not erase a hard year. ETH is still down more than 60% from its 2025 high near $4,950, and this bounce, however real its drivers, has not yet broken the larger downtrend. The level that changes that conversation is $1,800, the resistance ETH rejected during the selloff, and then the big one at $2,000. Until those fall, this is a strong rally inside a bear market, not a confirmed reversal.

And remember what carried ETH down: it falls harder than Bitcoin when fear returns. If the jobs data disappoints or the Fed walks back the dovish tone, the same beta that powered this 6% jump works in reverse. Enjoy the move; respect the trend.

The levels I’m watching Above: $1,750 first, then the real test at $1,800, and the prize at $2,000, where the recovery becomes undeniable. Below: $1,650 is the first support, then $1,600, the floor that held through the worst of it. As long as ETH holds above $1,650, this breakout attempt stays alive.

Where this leaves us Ethereum at $1,719 is having its best day in months, leading every major coin, and for once the reason is concrete: BlackRock’s staked ETH fund drew $100 million on day one, right into a market with record-low sellable supply and record-high staking. The squeeze we watched build all spring finally met its demand spark, with a dovish Fed and a short squeeze as accelerants.

It is not a confirmed trend change yet, $1,800 and $2,000 stand in the way, and ETH’s high beta cuts both ways. But the thing the bears said would never come, institutional demand returning to Ethereum, just showed up with a nine-figure opening day. Watch $1,800. The quiet story is not quiet anymore.

FAQ What is the Ethereum price today? Ethereum is trading around $1,719 on July 3, 2026, up 6.4% on the day, the strongest performance among major coins, and up nearly 9% on the week.

Why is Ethereum going up today? BlackRock launched a staked Ethereum fund, ETHB, that drew $100 million on its first day, landing in a market with record-low exchange supply. A dovish signal from Fed Chair Warsh, a $281 million short squeeze, and five straight days of Bitcoin ETF inflows added fuel.

What is BlackRock’s ETHB fund? ETHB is BlackRock’s new staked Ethereum fund, which passes Ethereum’s staking yield (roughly 3%) to investors, unlike older ETH ETFs. Its $100 million first-day inflow signals returning institutional demand for Ethereum.

What are the key Ethereum levels to watch? Resistance sits at $1,750, then the key $1,800 level, with $2,000 as the milestone that would confirm a real recovery. Support is $1,650, then $1,600. Holding above $1,650 keeps the breakout attempt alive.

Is the Ethereum recovery confirmed? Not yet. ETH remains down over 60% from its 2025 high, and the larger downtrend holds until $1,800 and then $2,000 are reclaimed. The rally has concrete drivers, but ETH’s high beta means it would fall hard again if the macro mood reverses.

This is not investment advice. Cryptocurrency is highly volatile. Always do your own research.

Ethereum News: Grayscale Investments filed a Form 8-K for its Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini ETF on July 2, 2026, disclosing the departure of CFO Edward McGee after seven years and his replacement by co-CFOs Kathryn Masci and Daniel Plourde on an interim basis, a governance shift at one of the most structurally sophisticated crypto ETF products currently listed in the U.S. market.

Discover: The Best Token Presales

Ethereum News: What the 8-K Actually Says, and What It Doesn’tThe 8-K filed with the SEC falls under the category covering departures, elections, and appointments of directors or certain officers, along with compensatory arrangements.

That category requires disclosure of the event but does not mandate full detail on circumstances, severance terms, or strategic rationale in the initial filing itself.

Kathryn Masci signed the filing as Co-Chief Financial Officer and Principal Financial and Accounting Officer of Grayscale Investments Sponsors, LLC.

Source: SEC FilingHer background runs through Ernst & Young and Garrison Capital before she joined Grayscale in May 2020. Daniel Plourde, the second interim co-CFO, brings institutional ETF operations experience from SPDR ETF Trusts at State Street and Gabelli Funds – a combination that reads more like deliberate succession planning than an emergency scramble.

The structural significance of this governance event is modest in isolation. McGee’s exit does not appear to implicate fund strategy, staking policy, or custody operations.

What it does add to is a pattern of active corporate housekeeping at the sponsor level throughout 2025 and 2026, including the creation of a new Board of Managers for the Sponsor on May 4, 2026 – a context that makes the July filing look like a continuation of planned restructuring rather than a reactive disclosure.

Discover: The Best Crypto to Diversify Your Portfolio

The Fund Itself: Numbers That Matter More Than the FilingThe leadership change is the headline event, but the operational data behind the spot Ethereum ETF is where the real story sits.

The fund held over 861,000 Ethereum as of Q1 2026, up from roughly 734,000 ETH at the start of the year, net creations of approximately 218,500 ETH during the quarter, which translated to around $337 million in net inflows and ranked the fund as the top U.S. Ethereum ETP by Q1 inflows as reported by most news.

Source: BitboThe staking yield mechanics are straightforward but worth quantifying precisely. Approximately 67% of the fund’s ETH is actively staked on Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network, generating a gross staking reward rate of approximately 2.88% annualized – the trailing 60-day figure Grayscale cited in January 2026.

Q1 2026 staking income came in at $8.38 million, with net investment income of $7.41 million after the fund’s 0.15% management fee. Total staking rewards generated since October 2025 have crossed $15 million.

That 2.88% gross yield against a 0.15% fee is a genuinely competitive structure. Non-staking spot ETH products capture price exposure only; holders of those funds absorb the fee drag without the partial offset that staking rewards provide.

The question for competing issuers is whether regulatory clarity on staking in registered fund structures, still evolving as of mid-2026, will allow them to match this product’s architecture or whether Grayscale’s first-mover position in staked Ethereum ETPs hardens further.

Ethereum Foundation láká vlády na bezpečnou infrastrukturu
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
The Ethereum Foundation published a policy guide on July 1, positioning Ethereum as neutral public infrastructure for governments and institutions. The document, prepared by the foundation’s Global Policy Strategy Team, frames Ethereum as a decentralized alternative to the centralized digital systems that many governments currently rely on for payments, identity verification, and record-keeping.

$76 Billion in Staked ETH as a Security Argument The guide cites an OpenZeppelin analysis showing approximately $76 billion in staked ETH securing the Ethereum network as of March 2026.

It would cost roughly $50.7 billion to finalize a fraudulent transaction on the network, excluding automatic slashing penalties, according to a Cryptopolitan report. The foundation contrasts Ethereum’s continuous uptime since its 2015 launch with that of other layer-1 blockchains reviewed in the OpenZeppelin analysis.

Binance Smart Chain, XRP Ledger, Tron, Solana, and Canton each experienced between one and seven outages and had comparatively few economic deterrents to attack, the report found.  Ethereum’s validator set is globally distributed across nations and legal systems, with no single country controlling a majority share.

“Ethereum is a decentralized ecosystem that functions through the activity of a large, diverse, and global group of stakeholders,” the guide stated. “That breadth of participation is one of the things that makes Ethereum so secure, which in turn is what makes it the top choice for institutions, enterprises, and the public sector.”

From Investment Asset to Digital Infrastructure Ethereum has historically been discussed as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The foundation is now framing it as foundational digital infrastructure comparable to the internet’s base protocols.

That rebranding could influence how regulators worldwide classify public blockchains and the tokens that operate on them. The guide highlights sovereign governments already using Ethereum-based solutions. Argentina and Bhutan have built decentralized identity systems on the network.

Indian authorities are testing Ethereum-based land registries to reduce property fraud in title transfers. The foundation encourages lawmakers to define a clear distinction between public blockchains open to anyone and those controlled by a single organization or foundation.

Timed With a Foundation Restructuring The policy guide arrives alongside a structural overhaul at the Ethereum Foundation. The organization cut roughly 20% of its workforce and created an “institutional layer” cluster focused specifically on government and enterprise engagement. A separate nonprofit, Ethereum Institutional, also launched this week with backing from key ecosystem participants.

If governments begin adopting Ethereum as public infrastructure, the regulatory clarity it would generate would extend well beyond Ethereum itself. The precedent would shape how all public blockchains are classified, potentially accelerating institutional investment across the broader digital asset market.

The guide cites independent security audits and uptime data while noting that one unnamed layer-1 blockchain had an organization controlling about 42% of the token supply, a trait that institutions would typically need to disclose and mitigate.

The foundation’s next test is whether this guide moves from policy paper to government procurement shortlist, a process that typically takes years rather than months.

Rocket Pool snižuje zástavu validátora na 4 ETH
ETH Ethereum RPL Rocket Pool
CoinGecko News 92
Original source text
Rocket Pool just made it a lot cheaper to run an Ethereum validator. The protocol’s Saturn 1 upgrade, which launched on Ethereum mainnet on February 18, 2026, cuts the minimum validator bond from 8 ETH to 4 ETH, effectively halving the barrier to entry for node operators who want to participate in decentralized staking.

What Saturn 1 actually changes Under the new structure, 8 ETH of bonded capital can now support up to 56 ETH in liquid deposits. Every dollar a node operator puts up can attract roughly seven dollars from passive stakers.

The upgrade also introduces megapools, a feature that lets operators manage multiple validators under a single smart contract. Instead of deploying separate contracts for each validator (and paying gas fees every time), operators can consolidate.

Then there’s the RPL fee switch. Saturn 1 activates a protocol-wide mechanism that routes roughly 9% of protocol revenue to staked RPL holders, paid out in ETH rather than through token inflation. Instead of printing more RPL tokens as rewards, the protocol now shares actual revenue.

How Rocket Pool got here The Atlas upgrade in 2023 was the one that first brought the bond requirement down to 8 ETH, creating what the protocol called “minipools.” Houston followed, focusing on governance improvements and operational refinements, laying the groundwork for the revenue-sharing mechanisms that Saturn 1 now implements.

The Saturn series was always envisioned as a multi-phase rollout. Saturn 1 handles the bond reduction, megapools, and fee switch. Rocket Pool occupies an unusual position in the liquid staking landscape: while Lido dominates market share with a more centralized operator model, Rocket Pool has leaned into permissionless node operation as its differentiator, where anyone can run a node with no application required.

What this means for investors and stakers By doubling validator capacity per bonded ETH, Rocket Pool is making a direct play for more total value locked. For rETH holders, that translates to better liquidity and tighter spreads when entering or exiting positions.

The shift from inflationary rewards to ETH-denominated revenue sharing fundamentally changes the value proposition of holding and staking RPL. Under the old model, staked RPL holders received more RPL. Under Saturn 1, they receive ETH. Pre-launch enthusiasm already drove upward price momentum for RPL.

There’s also the question of whether 4 ETH bonds attract operators who are genuinely committed to running reliable infrastructure, or whether the lower barrier brings in participants who are less prepared for the operational demands of validating. Slashing risk doesn’t disappear just because the entry price dropped.

Ethereum drží staking, sentiment zůstává silně negativní
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Ethereum is having a tough time at the moment, with sentiment at rock bottom, but underlying supply dynamics paint a different picture.

Ethereum has a “wall of worry” where negative sentiment is meeting staking absorption, reported CryptoQuant on Tuesday.

The Coinbase Premium, a measure of institutional interest, is 230% below its three-month average, while Binance funding rates are deeply negative, signaling caution from US institutions and leveraged traders, it added.

Despite this wall of negativity, ETH’s price has stayed stable over the past week rather than breaking down.

ETH Staking Hits Record 40M Meanwhile, the Ether supply is tightening as stablecoin balances on Binance are draining while staking inflows have surged 65%, “suggesting long-term holders are locking up supply even as short-term traders de-risk,” it stated.

“While traders are shorting or de-risking on Binance, long-term holders are actively locking supply into the staking contract.”

This combination of deep pessimism and a shrinking liquid/exchange supply is a classic pattern, which historically creates fragile conditions for short traders if selling pressure exhausts.

The analysts concluded that monitoring the reversal of the Coinbase Premium will be the primary signal for a shift in this regime.

Ethereum’s Wall of Worry: Negative Sentiment Meets Staking Absorption

ETH staking has hit an all-time high of 40 million, which equates to 33% of the entire supply, according to Ultrasound.Money.

Additionally, the validator exit queue is just 9,248 ETH, while more than 2.9 million ETH are in the entry queue.

Bitmine chair Tom Lee said that crypto is a hyper-volatile asset, and some macro headwinds are weighing on ETH, such as markets seeing a Fed hike, Clarity Act purgatory, AI FOMO, and private credit hurting flows.

However, there are also some tailwinds, including the tokenization megatrend, crypto downstream of AI, money becoming digital/software, and peak pain, he said in a recent interview.

ETH Price Outlook Despite these tailwinds, ETH prices remain depressed, with the asset dipping to an intraday low of $1,550 on Tuesday.

There was little momentum during Wednesday morning Asian trading, with ETH lifting to $1,585. The longer it stays at current levels, the greater the chances of another leg down, especially if Bitcoin loses support at $58,000.

Ethereum nad 1 500 USD, ETF dál zaznamenávají odlivy
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Ethereum (ETH) has rebounded from its recent lows, but the recovery may not be enough to reverse a prolonged exodus from spot Ethereum ETFs, highlighting a growing disconnect between the cryptocurrency’s price action and institutional investor sentiment.

ETH has climbed back above the psychologically important $1,500 level and was recently trading in the $1,600-$1,620 range after briefly dipping to around $1,500. However, Simon-Peter Massabni, Head of Business Development at global multi-asset broker XS.com, cautioned that the move appears to be more of a technical rebound than the beginning of a sustained rally.

“The current rebound is still not enough to confirm a clear reversal,” Massabni said. “Instead, it mainly appears to be a corrective move after selling pressure had persisted for several sessions.”

ETF Flows Remain the Biggest HeadwindWhile Ethereum’s price has stabilized, spot Ethereum ETFs continue to paint a less encouraging picture.

According to Massabni, the funds have logged seven consecutive weeks of net outflows totaling roughly $1.18 billion, underscoring continued institutional caution toward the second-largest cryptocurrency. If withdrawals continue this week, Ethereum ETFs would extend their losing streak to eight straight weeks.

“Spot Ethereum ETFs have faced seven consecutive weeks of net outflows, with the total value reaching around $1.18 billion, clearly reflecting institutional investors’ cautious stance toward ETH,” he said.

The persistent outflows stand in sharp contrast to the optimism surrounding the launch of spot Ethereum ETFs, which many market participants expected would unlock a fresh wave of institutional demand, similar to the record inflows seen in spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Instead, Ethereum funds have struggled to establish sustained momentum as investors remain selective amid elevated interest rates, macroeconomic uncertainty and mixed sentiment across digital assets.

Macro Environment Still Weighs on CryptoMassabni believes the broader macro backdrop continues to limit risk appetite.

“The macro backdrop is still not truly supportive of risk assets,” he said, pointing to uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate path. “In an environment where interest rates may stay higher for longer, capital tends to be more cautious toward highly volatile assets such as cryptocurrencies.”

He added that weak ETF demand has become a key signal of institutional positioning.

“The lack of positive ETF flows reflects cautious sentiment among large investors and reduces ETH’s short-term appeal compared with initial expectations,” Massabni said.

Ethereum also remains closely tied to broader crypto market sentiment, with Bitcoin yet to establish a decisive upward trend. As a result, ETH could struggle to outperform independently unless market conditions improve.

What Could Turn the Tide?Massabni said ETF flows may ultimately determine whether Ethereum’s rebound develops into a sustained recovery.

“If ETH manages to stay above the $1,500 area and ETF flows show signs of stabilizing, price could continue to recover toward higher zones around $1,700-$1,800,” he said.

However, he warned that renewed macro pressure or continued investor withdrawals from spot Ethereum ETFs could send the cryptocurrency back toward the $1,500 support level. A decisive break below that threshold, he added, could extend the broader downtrend before the market finds a new equilibrium.

Base zkrátila výběry na pět dní
AVAX Avalanche BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum SOL Solana
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
While price action has long dominated the cryptocurrency market, attention in 2026 is steadily shifting toward the technical foundations of blockchain networks. With Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche preparing for some of their most ambitious protocol upgrades to date, Coinbase’s layer-2 network Base activated its Beryl hard fork just last Friday. In contrast, Bitcoin developers remain deadlocked over several contentious proposals and have yet to reach consensus.

Focus shifts from speed to resilienceTim Sun, a senior researcher at Hong Kong-based asset manager HashKey Group, explained that previous protocol upgrades have typically prioritized adding new features, speeding up transactions and boosting capacity. However, Sun observed that by 2026, the industry’s priorities are tilting towards more predictable governance, greater reliability and the development of robust, enterprise-scale infrastructure to support widespread financial use cases.

Tim Sun stresses that, looking ahead to 2026, simply adding more features is no longer the main concern; instead, reliability and institution-grade infrastructure are taking center stage.

Spotlight on Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgradeAmong Ethereum’s key roadmap milestones, the Glamsterdam upgrade stands out as one of this year’s most pivotal steps. Currently being tested on developer networks, it is expected to roll out to the mainnet in the second half of 2026. Planned changes include improved scalability, reinforcement of the layer-1 base, and a streamlined user experience aimed at simplifying network usage.

Sun noted that the upgrade could enable higher transaction throughput, expand data capacity, and reduce database bloat. The overarching goal is to make Ethereum a more favorable environment for stablecoin settlements and on-chain use of real-world assets.

Holly Atkinson, chief product and technology officer at 1inch, described Glamsterdam as Ethereum’s most significant upgrade since The Merge in September 2022. One highlight is ePBS—short for enshrined proposer builder separation—a structure aimed at making block creation and proposal processes more transparent. However, RuleSpark founder Pavan Kaur cautioned that while this step might help, it will not eradicate maximal extractable value (MEV) issues altogether, as some harmful practices may simply adapt and persist in new forms.

Mini glossary: ePBS stands for enshrined proposer builder separation. It aims to clarify the distinction within the protocol between validators who propose blocks and entities that build their content, with the objective of minimizing concentration in transaction sequencing.

Solana and Base aim for lightning-fast confirmationsOn the Solana front, the Alpenglow upgrade is the year’s most significant development. After receiving strong backing in governance votes in September 2025, Alpenglow is still under development and slated for release in the latter half of 2026 alongside the Agave 4.1 validator client. This system will replace the current TowerBFT mechanism with an innovative voting component named Votor.

One of the most concrete impacts is a dramatic reduction in transaction finality time. The goal is to bring finality down to between 100 and 150 milliseconds under optimal network conditions, compared to the present average of approximately 12.8 seconds. The upgrade also targets reducing network load by removing on-chain voting operations, ultimately improving validator communication efficiency.

Jesse Pollak, one of Base’s co-founders, emphasized that users’ assets remained unaffected by the disruption, but acknowledged the downtime was unacceptable and added that lessons learned will help reinforce Base as a round-the-clock global financial platform.

Jesse Pollak underscores that user funds were secure during the incident, but says Base recognizes the network pause was not acceptable and is using this experience to guide technical improvements.

According to Base documentation, the Beryl hard fork introduces the B20 native token standard, shortens withdrawal finality from seven days to five, and implements the Reth V2 integration. These updates are expected to decrease node storage requirements and enhance execution efficiency.

Avalanche goes institutional, Bitcoin debates persistOn Avalanche, there is less focus on a single named hard fork and more on sweeping changes to attract enterprise users and boost performance. According to Sun, the Etna hard fork replaced the legacy subnet model with a system of sovereign Avalanche L1 chains, slashing the startup cost for launching a private blockchain by over 99%. He also highlighted that Progmat, which he says represents about 63% of Japan’s security token market, recently moved more than $2 billion in tokenized assets to a dedicated Avalanche L1 chain.

Bitcoin, meanwhile, stands apart from rival networks. Its main challenges in 2026 are not scheduled upgrades but debates over whether to make the protocol more programmable or to strengthen it against quantum computing threats. Proposals like OP_CAT, CTV and Lightning-focused LNHANCE—each associated with covenants and programmability—remain under discussion but lack an agreed activation path. Proposals such as BIP 360 and similar efforts to ease the shift to quantum-resistant spending methods are also still on the table without a clear consensus.

Robinhood spustil mainnet a tokenizované akcie
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 86
Original source text
Robinhood has launched its Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet alongside tokenized stock trading and perpetual futures, expanding its blockchain based financial services beyond the testnet stage.

Summary

Robinhood has launched its Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet with tokenized stocks and decentralized finance features. Eligible users in more than 120 countries can trade tokenized stocks through Robinhood Wallet on supported decentralized exchanges. Robinhood Wallet now offers perpetual futures through Lighter, with eligible users earning LIT token rewards based on trading activity. According to an announcement during the company’s “The World is Flat” event in London, Robinhood has unveiled the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network built with Arbitrum technology, while introducing tokenized stocks and decentralized perpetual futures trading as part of its latest international product rollout.

Speaking during the launch, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev and other executives described the announcement as the company’s most ambitious global expansion and product strategy so far, with a focus on combining traditional financial products with decentralized finance infrastructure.

Robinhood Chain moves from testnet to mainnet Robinhood Chain has been launched as a permissionless, AI native Ethereum Layer 2 network designed for real world assets. Built using Arbitrum’s technology stack to institutional standards, the network includes integrations with Alchemy, BitGo, and Chainlink, while also supporting built in DeFi features such as lending and borrowing.

The company said Uniswap will deploy a dedicated automated market maker as the chain’s primary public liquidity protocol, while Pleiades will launch its own automated market maker to serve as the primary proprietary trading venue.

The mainnet launch follows Robinhood Chain’s public testnet debut in February. At the time, Tenev said the network processed more than four million transactions during its first week, with developers already experimenting with tokenized stock assets and decentralized financial applications. The testnet was built to let developers evaluate tools and infrastructure before the production rollout.

Tokenized stocks and perpetual futures expand offering Alongside the blockchain launch, Robinhood introduced a new version of Stock Tokens that allows eligible users to trade tokenized equities around the clock directly on Robinhood Chain. According to the company’s disclosures, the tokens can also be used as collateral across decentralized finance applications and deployed into lending pools.

Robinhood said the new Stock Tokens are tokenized debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited. While they provide economic exposure to the underlying shares, holders do not receive legal ownership or beneficial rights in the underlying stocks.

Eligible users in more than 120 countries can access the assets through Robinhood Wallet, with spot trading available on decentralized exchanges including Uniswap, Rialto, Lighter, 1inch and Arcus, which was developed by the team behind dYdX. The company said the product is unavailable to users in the United States and remains restricted in several other jurisdictions, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and sanctioned regions.

Robinhood also renamed its earlier tokenized equity product as Classic Stock Tokens. Those assets, first introduced during the company’s Cannes event in June 2025, will continue to operate inside the Robinhood Europe app after the launch of the new on chain version.

Attention also turned to Robinhood Wallet, which now offers eligible users in selected jurisdictions access to perpetual futures through Ethereum-based decentralized exchange Lighter. According to the company’s disclosures, the product is not available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and other restricted markets.

Robinhood said Lighter has allocated $11 million worth of its native LIT tokens to the Robinhood community. Eligible users will earn trading points on perpetual futures transactions that convert into LIT tokens, with trades executed through Robinhood Wallet receiving double the points compared with trades placed directly through Lighter’s web application.

Ethereum ETF přilákaly nové přílivy, ETH míří k 1 700 USD

CoinGecko News 72

Ethereum traded near $1,615 on July 2 as buyers tried to stabilize the market after weeks of pressure.

Summary

Ethereum trades near $1,615 as buyers defend support while ETF flows turn positive again. Analysts watch $1,700 to $1,800 as the recovery zone needed for stronger confirmation next move. Staking rate above 33% suggests more ETH is locked despite weak short-term price action. ETH remains close to the lower end of its recent range, but new ETF inflows and stronger staking activity have added fresh data points for traders watching a recovery attempt.

The token was up 2.49% over 24 hours, with a daily range between $1,564.82 and $1,637.22, according to crypto.news price data. Ethereum’s market cap stood near $194.87 billion, while 24-hour trading volume was about $10.81 billion.

Spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $14.895 million in net inflows on July 1, while BlackRock’s ETHA posted the largest single-day inflow at $36.639 million, according to SoSoValue. The shift came after a period in which ETF outflows weighed on ETH demand and kept traders focused on the $1,500 support region.

Ethereum spot ETF net inflow, source: SoSoValue Ethereum price holds near lower range Ethereum’s short-term setup remains cautious. The recent price trend has been mostly sideways near the lower range, with ETH holding around $1,580 to $1,650. The market still needs a move above the $1,700 to $1,800 area to show stronger recovery momentum.

Recently, Ethereum had remained pinned near the $1,500 support zone after quarter-end selling, whale distribution, and weak institutional flows. That report said analysts were watching $1,700 as a key recovery level, while a loss of $1,500 could open another move lower.

The technical picture shows early improvement, but not a full trend reversal. The MACD histogram is positive near 7.60, while the MACD line is around minus 66.92 and above the signal line near minus 74.52. That points to a bullish crossover and weaker bearish momentum, but both lines remain below zero.

Ethereum (ETH) price chart, source: crypto.news The RSI is near 40.46 and above its moving average around 36.50. This shows some recovery in momentum, but the reading remains below 50. Buyers need a stronger RSI move and a price reclaim of $1,700 to $1,800 before the setup turns more constructive.

ETF inflows return after weeks of pressure ETF flows remain central to ETH’s short-term outlook. Earlier pressure came from repeated outflows across U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs. Crypto.news previously reported that funds saw $273 million in net outflows during the week ending June 26, with BlackRock’s ETHA accounting for $236 million of withdrawals.

The latest positive daily flow gives bulls some relief, but one day of inflows does not erase the wider weakness. ETF demand matters because these products can create spot buying pressure when flows are positive. When flows reverse, fund managers may need to redeem underlying ETH, adding supply to the market.

Ethereum has underperformed during this period because its ETF market is smaller than Bitcoin’s. Ethereum ETF outflows have been more painful in relative terms because the ETH ETF complex is much smaller than the Bitcoin ETF market.

That makes the July 1 inflow important for sentiment. A steady run of inflows would support the case for ETH to retest $1,700. If inflows fade again, traders may keep treating rallies as weak rebounds inside a broader downtrend.

Staking rate reaches record level On-chain data adds a different signal. CryptoQuant analyst EgyHash said Ethereum’s staking rate has crossed 33% for the first time, reaching about 33.06%. The analyst described the trend as a sign that long-term holders continue locking ETH despite price weakness.

EgyHash noted that the staking rate has climbed steadily since the Merge, while ETH price has moved through several bull and bear phases. The analyst said this shows many holders prefer to keep ETH staked rather than sell during weak market periods.

Ethereum (ETH) staking rate, source: CryptoQuant analyst EgyHash A higher staking rate can reduce liquid supply available on exchanges. That may support price if demand returns, because fewer coins are immediately available for sale. Still, the analyst warned that “staking growth alone does not guarantee an immediate price recovery.”

This makes staking a medium-term support factor rather than a short-term trigger. It can help tighten supply, but ETH still needs demand from ETFs, spot buyers, treasury firms, and onchain users to produce a stronger recovery.

Corporate buyers keep accumulating ETH Corporate treasury demand remains active despite weak price action. As previously reported, SharpLink bought another 10,000 ETH for $16.1 million, lifting its holdings to 886,725 ETH. The purchase came as Ethereum headed toward a rare third straight quarterly loss.

BitMine has also expanded its Ethereum treasury. Moreover,  BitMine added 27,084 ETH in one week, raising its holdings to more than 5.7 million ETH, or about 4.7% of circulating supply.

The institutional push is also expanding beyond treasury buys. Earlier today, crypto.news reported that Ethereum Institutional launched with backing from BitMine, SharpLink and Joe Lubin to support adoption by banks, asset managers, custodians, and other financial firms.

The corporate buying has not yet changed the short-term trend. Whale selling, ETF weakness, and broader risk-off trading have kept ETH below the $1,700 to $1,800 recovery band. Still, these purchases show some institutions continue to add ETH at lower prices.

Ali Charts said ETH is approaching a long-term support area near $1,100, a level he described as the lower boundary of a multi-year channel. He pointed to $3,000 as a mid-range target and $5,000 as a macro ceiling if the lower channel holds.

ETHEREUM: WHEN TO BUY?

Robinhood nasazuje Chainlink pro Robinhood Chain
ETH Ethereum LINK Chainlink
CoinGecko News 92
Original source text
Robinhood Taps Chainlink for Official Oracle InfrastructureRobinhood has formally adopted Chainlink as the official data and cross-chain oracle infrastructure for Robinhood Chain, its newly launched Ethereum Layer 2 network. The integration covers Robinhood Chain and all Robinhood-issued assets, including Stock Tokens like NVDA, GOOG, and AAPL. The announcement came alongside the public mainnet launch of Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network built using Arbitrum's technology stack.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain built on Arbitrum technology, designed to support tokenized real-world assets and onchain financial services. The company described Robinhood Chain as permissionless, AI-native, and purpose-built for real-world assets, with day-one partners including Uniswap, Pleiades, Alchemy, BitGo, and Chainlink.

What Chainlink Brings to the NetworkChainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Data Streams, and Data Feeds are now live on Robinhood Chain mainnet from day one, delivering verifiable data for tokenized real-world assets and unlocking secure interoperability across the multi-chain ecosystem. Chainlink provides data feeds, interoperability tools, and compliance standards needed for advanced tokenization use cases. Oracles connect smart contracts to external data sources, which is essential for applications like tokenized stocks that require real-time pricing data from traditional markets.

Robinhood also launched new Stock Tokens, enabling eligible users to trade 24/7 directly on Robinhood Chain, as well as deploy those assets into lending pools and use them as trading collateral across the broader DeFi ecosystem. With the mainnet now live, Robinhood Wallet users in more than 120 countries can trade Stock Tokens, though availability varies depending on local regulations.

Gaetan Thabot, Director of Product at Robinhood Crypto, said the company chose Chainlink because its institutional-grade security and reliability are already trusted by the world's largest financial institutions to scale onchain ecosystems.

REAL spustil soukromou vrstvu pro tokenizovaná aktiva
ETH Ethereum ZK zkSync
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
REAL launches a confidential execution layer using ZKsync's Prividium tech, letting banks and funds manage tokenized assets onchain with privacy controls and Ethereum settlement.

REAL, a blockchain infrastructure provider focused on tokenized real-world assets, has rolled out a confidential execution layer aimed at regulated financial firms that want to operate onchain without broadcasting every move.

The new layer runs parallel to REAL's public Layer 1 network and uses ZKsync's Prividium technology, which gives banks, asset managers, and funds privacy controls over positions, allocations, and counterparty data. Settlement still happens on Ethereum, so institutions retain access to public liquidity even while keeping sensitive activity off the open network.

For years, regulated firms have faced a structural tradeoff. Public blockchains offer global reach, near-instant settlement, and composability, but they also expose treasury strategies, portfolio positions, and trading relationships to anyone watching the chain. That visibility has kept many of the largest potential participants out of the tokenized real-world asset market, even as issuance volumes climbed.

REAL is positioning the confidential layer as a direct response to that gap. The architecture lets firms keep privacy and public settlement together, with the confidential chain handling sensitive activity while the public chain provides access to onchain liquidity.

"Institutions shouldn't have to choose between public liquidity and operational privacy. We're building infrastructure that delivers both," said Ivo Georgiev, CEO of Real Finance.

The company's view is that issuance volumes alone will not define the next phase of tokenization. What matters is whether institutions can run their daily operations on these systems.

The new layer is designed around workflows where confidentiality is a baseline requirement: wealth and asset management mandates, balance sheet operations, tokenized deposit structures, and selective disclosure to auditors, compliance officers, and regulators when a review calls for it. Firms still get blockchain-native settlement and distribution, but their portfolio activity does not sit in plain view.

The release extends REAL's broader pitch around the lifecycle of tokenized real-world assets, which spans issuance, risk assessment, insurance, trading, and institutional execution under one compliance-aware architecture. The company has been building toward an environment where regulated capital can move onchain without forcing operators to rebuild reporting and oversight processes from scratch.

"This is about giving institutions a practical path into onchain finance," Georgiev added. "Real-world assets onchain require infrastructure that reflects how regulated finance actually operates. That's what we're building."

Tokenized real-world assets have drawn growing interest from major banks, asset managers, and other regulated firms over the past two years. The pitch is straightforward: blockchains can move money and assets faster and at lower cost than legacy rails. The friction has come from infrastructure that does not match how institutional desks actually operate, especially around confidentiality of positions and counterparties.

REAL is built on Cosmos Tendermint and uses a dual-validator model that includes both technical validators and business validators such as tokenizers, risk scorers, insurers, and credit agencies. Prividium, the underlying privacy infrastructure for the new layer, is ZKsync's product for regulated entities seeking configurable confidentiality and Ethereum settlement.

The company is headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Winklevoss Twins are moving Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) to Gemini crypto exchange, blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence flagged the transfers as selloffs by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Meanwhile, BTC and ETH prices continue to remain under pressure.

Winklevoss Twins Are Dumping Bitcoin and Ethereum to Gemini Arkham Intelligence reported on July 1 that the Winklevoss Twins transferred $60 million in Bitcoin (BTC) to hot wallets associated with their Gemini crypto exchange. The blockchain analytics firm claimed that the move signals usual selling patterns.

The Winklevoss Twins have made about $1.7 billion in total Bitcoin profit since 2015. They still hold over $300 million in BTC.

In addition, they moved $7 million in Ethereum (ETH) to Gemini hot wallets from custody. These transfers come amid recent weakness in the broader crypto market. Also, it coincided with a significant drop in odds of the Clarity Act passing this year after President Trump disclosed $1.4 billion in crypto windfall.

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss last transferred Bitcoin worth $67.5 million to hot wallets associated with their Gemini crypto exchange in June. They also transferred $130 million in March this year.

Bitcoin price tanked to a low of $57,747 over the past 24 hours and is currently trading near $58,600. Furthermore, trading volume has increased by 9% over the last 24 hours, but $4.5 billion in net outflows from Bitcoin ETFs in June kept investors at bay.

Analyst Ted Pillows said “Sellers are still dominating, while Coinbase Bitcoin Premium is at its lowest level this cycle.” If Bitcoin loses the $57,000-$58,000 zone, the price could drop deeper towards $50K.

Crédit Agricole vydává stablecoin EURXT v souladu s MiCA na Ethereu
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 92
Original source text
CACEIS Brings Institutional Euro Stablecoin to EthereumCrédit Agricole, Europe's third-largest bank by assets, has launched the EURO eXchange Token (EURXT), a euro-backed stablecoin issued through its asset-servicing arm, Crédit Agricole Caisse d'Epargne Investor Services (CACEIS). The token is designed for institutional and corporate clients as part of the group's broader push into tokenized financial infrastructure.

Compliant with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory guidelines, EURXT launched with an initial circulating supply of 20.02 million tokens on Ethereum using the ERC-20 standard, backed 1:1 by euro-denominated cash held on CACEIS Bank's balance sheet. According to the project's white paper, there is no hard cap on EURXT issuance, meaning the supply can expand based on demand through its smart contract system.

One notable feature is that this is a bank-issued EMT, where the CACEIS balance sheet backs the token, with plans to segregate reserves internally, including CACEIS cash and up to 70% in highly liquid securities. The minimum subscription amount is set at €10,000, keeping the product firmly within institutional territory for now. The token will initially be made available to institutional and corporate clients of CACEIS, though the project's website indicates plans to support retail investors in the future.

First Use Case and Broader Market ContextAlongside the EURXT launch, Crédit Agricole announced the first subscription via EURXT into a tokenised Amundi money market fund, described as a European first. The token forms part of the group's ACT 2028 strategy, which includes the development of blockchain-based settlement and asset servicing tools.

The launch comes a year after CACEIS secured a MiCA crypto-asset service provider (CASP) license from French regulators in June 2025. The launch of EURXT adds to a wave of fresh stablecoin launches both in Europe and globally as traditional finance and crypto-native companies compete to issue regulated digital euros and dollars. HSBC and BNP Paribas, Europe's top two banks by assets, last September joined the Canton Foundation to accelerate tokenization of institutional real-world assets, while a separate consortium of major European lenders including ING, UniCredit, and BNP Paribas is also preparing a competing MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin under the Qivalis venture.

For Crédit Agricole, the EURXT debut represents a concrete step beyond regulatory preparation. With a fully operational EMT on a public blockchain, the bank is positioning CACEIS as a gateway for institutional capital flows into tokenized markets under Europe's mature MiCA framework.

Summary

A new independent nonprofit, Ethereum Institutional, has launched to accelerate institutional adoption of Ethereum, providing banks, asset managers and other enterprises with a neutral point of contact as they evaluate the blockchain for tokenization, stablecoins and other financial applications. The launch comes as the Ethereum Foundation narrows its focus to stewarding the core protocol, with independent organizations like EthLabs emerging to take on ecosystem functions such as research & development.A new independent non-profit, Ethereum Institutional, has launched with the goal of accelerating institutional adoption of Ethereum, its layer-2 networks and the broader ecosystem.

The organization is led by David Walsh, Marius Smith and Matthew Dawson. Walsh previously led the Ethereum Foundation's enterprise efforts, while the organization said its leadership brings experience spanning institutional engagement, capital markets and Ethereum ecosystem development. It said its mission is to provide institutions with a neutral, independent point of contact as they evaluate Ethereum for tokenization, stablecoins and other onchain financial infrastructure.

In announcing the initiative on X, Ethereum Institutional said institutions need "a credible, independent front door" to the Ethereum ecosystem. While Ethereum's neutrality is one of its defining strengths, the group argued, that neutrality has often left enterprises without a clear organization to engage as they make long-term infrastructure decisions.

The launch comes as the Ethereum Foundation continues to narrow its role to stewarding the core protocol, with ecosystem participants increasingly spinning up independent organizations focused on specific areas such as business development, institutional outreach and developer support. The shift follows broader changes at the foundation, including leadership restructuring and longstanding community calls for greater transparency.

Ethereum Institutional is also the latest addition to a growing network of Ethereum-focused organizations. It follows the launch of EthLabs, another initiative aimed at strengthening Ethereum's ecosystem, as the network seeks to capitalize on growing institutional interest in tokenization, stablecoins and blockchain-based financial markets.

The non-profit said its work will focus on institutional engagement, market intelligence, ecosystem marketing, industry research and events. It launched with backing from BitMine, Nasdaq-listed SharpLink Gaming and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, with additional institutional and individual supporters expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

"The world's largest institutions are deciding where tokenization, stablecoins, and onchain markets will settle," the organization said. "We're ready to make Ethereum the base layer for institutional finance."

ETH staking poprvé překročil 33 %
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
TL;DR Ethereum’s staking rate has climbed above 33% for the first time, setting a new all-time high. Around 33.06% of the total ETH supply is now locked in staking, reducing the liquid supply in circulation. A newly created wallet withdrew 9,876 ETH worth $15.4 million from Binance and staked the entire amount. Ethereum price continues to hold above the $1,550 support level, while $1,700 remains a key resistance to watch. Ethereum staking participation has reached a new milestone, with the network’s staking rate climbing above 33% for the first time since the Merge upgrade. According to CryptoQuant data, approximately 33.06% of the total ETH supply is now locked in staking, marking a new all-time high even as the Ethereum price remains near $1,500.

The latest figures highlight a growing divergence between investor behavior and market performance. While Ethereum’s price has moved through several periods of volatility, staking participation has continued to rise steadily, suggesting that many long-term holders are choosing to lock up their ETH rather than sell during the current market downturn.

Adding to the trend, blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain reported that a newly created wallet withdrew 9,876 ETH, valued at approximately $15.4 million, from Binance before staking the entire amount.

Ethereum Staking Reaches Record High as Investors Lock Up More ETH CryptoQuant’s data shows Ethereum’s staking rate has maintained a consistent upward trajectory since the network transitioned to Proof-of-Stake. The latest increase to 33.06% means that roughly one-third of the total ETH supply is now committed to staking, reducing the amount of Ether available in circulation.

ETH Staking Data | Source: CryptoQuant The continued growth in staking participation suggests that investors remain committed to Ethereum’s long-term outlook despite ongoing market uncertainty. Instead of moving assets to exchanges for potential selling, more holders are choosing to secure the network while earning staking rewards.

Although a rising staking rate does not guarantee an immediate increase in Ethereum price, it does reduce the liquid supply of ETH. If market demand strengthens in the future, a smaller circulating supply could support stronger price movements.

Ethereum Price Holds Key Support but Faces Resistance Ahead While staking continues to set new records, Ethereum price remains under pressure. At the time of the accompanying data, ETH was trading near $1,571, while the CryptoQuant chart showed the asset around the $1,500 level as staking reached its highest level on record.

Technical charts by analysts indicate that Ethereum has so far managed to hold above the $1,550 support area, even as Bitcoin fell to a new yearly low. According to the analyst’s view provided with the chart, Ethereum has displayed relative strength compared with Bitcoin during the recent market decline.

1-day ETH/USDT Chart | Source: X However, the analysis also notes that ETH is not yet out of danger. The chart identifies $1,700 as a key resistance level, indicating that Ethereum would need to reclaim that area before the risk of another move lower begins to ease.

For now, the data points to a market where long-term participation continues to strengthen despite short-term price weakness. With staking at a record high and more ETH being removed from the liquid supply, investor conviction appears to remain intact even as Ethereum price continues to trade below key resistance levels.

Summary

Welcome to The Protocol, CoinDesk’s tech newsletter covering the most important stories in blockchain. I’m Margaux Nijkerk, a reporter at CoinDesk.

We’re giving you a deeper look at the biggest trends, breakthroughs and debates shaping blockchain technology each week.

This week, we’re diving into the creation of EthLabs, and why it was launched during a period of transition for the Ethereum ecosystem.

EthLabs, Ethereum’s newest nonprofit research organization, has demurred at insinuations that it is attempting to replace a struggling Ethereum Foundation. Instead, its founders, former leaders of the foundation, argue it's a response to a changing Ethereum ecosystem, one where the foundation is narrowing its focus while new organizations step in to tackle broader adoption.

The timing of EthLabs' launch calls that into question.

The organization publicly unveiled itself just one day before there were major layoffs at Ethereum Foundation, and only a few days after co-executive director Hsiao-Wei Wang announced her resignation, adding to what has become a period of significant turnover at Ethereum's most influential institution. Since January, at least nine prominent members of the Ethereum Foundation have departed as the organization undergoes a broader strategic realignment.

For many observers, the departures have fueled questions about the foundation's future role and whether Ethereum's governance model is entering a new chapter. According to EthLabs executive director Ansgar Dietrichs, that transition is exactly why the organization was created.

"We looked around, didn't see anyone else stepping up," Dietrichs told CoinDesk in an interview. "After two months of that, we looked at each other and said, 'Well, if no one else is stepping up, then it has to be us.'"

Dietrichs, along with four other former Ethereum Foundation researchers and developers, some of whom left the foundation just this year to launch EthLabs, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing Ethereum's technical roadmap with a stronger emphasis on real-world adoption.

The creation comes as Dietrichs describes Ethereum as entering a fundamentally different phase of its evolution. "The decade of infrastructure build-out of Ethereum is coming to an end," he said. "Now it's much more about actual institutional adoption."

Over the past decade, Ethereum's developer community focused on building the foundational pieces of the network: from smart contracts and decentralized finance to scaling technologies and layer-2 networks. With those building blocks largely in place, Dietrichs believes the next challenge is ensuring Ethereum can support large-scale financial infrastructure.

"I don't think crypto and Ethereum will ever go back to a time like it was in the past," he said, arguing that the ecosystem has moved beyond the boom-and-bust cycles that previously defined it.

That transition has also reshaped the Ethereum Foundation itself.

Earlier this year, the foundation published a renewed mandate emphasizing Ethereum's core values: including credible neutrality, self-sovereignty and open infrastructure, while reducing its involvement in some implementation-focused initiatives. Combined with ongoing budget constraints, the shift has resulted in restructuring across the organization.

Dietrichs views those changes less as a crisis than an overdue evolution. "It's more a transition period," he said. "Ethereum is now much more intentionally, proactively reorienting itself to be ready for this new time period."

Filling in the gapsBut as the turmoil started to unveil itself at the EF, many have started to wonder whether EthLabs would replace it. Dietrichs sees that rather than competing with the foundation, EthLabs intends to complement it. "We're deliberately positioning ourselves to fill the gaps that the Ethereum Foundation now deliberately leaves," Dietrichs said. "We're not trying to create a competing vision for Ethereum."

Those gaps, he argues, center on adoption-oriented engineering work, like improving Ethereum's scalability, strengthening layer-1 performance, advancing interoperability, and identifying the technical barriers preventing broader institutional use.

"The gap we see is this more practical, adoption-oriented work, making Ethereum, practically useful for the real world," he said. EthLabs plans to continue work its founders previously led within the foundation, including layer-1 scaling research, while expanding into areas like interoperability and engagement with financial institutions exploring blockchain infrastructure.

For that, Dietrichs deliberately chose to structure the organization as a nonprofit, and its sole objective is supporting Ethereum's long-term success rather than generating commercial returns. "The only interest is we help Ethereum," Dietrichs said. "There's no other incentive we have other than we help Ethereum."

A broader vision for EthereumThe changes come as the direction of the Ethereum network is heading for a revamp. For Dietrichs, EthLabs is about more than protocol development. He believes Ethereum itself needs a clearer narrative for what comes next.

"Ten years ago everyone knew what Ethereum was trying to achieve," he said. "Today it's not so clear that there's a shared answer." He sees the coming years as defining Ethereum's role in an increasingly onchain financial system.

"I think there's a world in which Ethereum really is at the very center of the global financial system as it comes onchain," he said.

Whether EthLabs succeeds remains to be seen. As a newly formed nonprofit, it must establish its own funding base while proving it can influence Ethereum's technical direction outside the foundation.

But its emergence reflects something larger than the creation of another Ethereum organization. Many at the top of the industry are pushing for a broader redistribution of responsibility across the ecosystem, one where the foundation is becoming a steward of the protocol's core values, while independent organizations like EthLabs take on the work of driving adoption and implementation.

US-listed Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $4.5 billion in net outflows during June 2026. This was the worst monthly figure since the products launched in January 2024.

The redemptions coincided with a sharp price decline. Bitcoin fell 20.48% over the month, its steepest monthly drop since June 2022, when the asset shed 37.28% during that cycle’s collapse.

IBIT Leads the Institutional RetreatJune’s outflows broke the previous monthly record of $3.56 billion, set in February 2025 during an earlier stretch of market stress.

Bitcoin ETF Monthly Flows. Source: SoSoValueBlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) accounted for the bulk of the outflows. The fund alone shed $3.55 billion, close to 79% of the category’s total redemptions.

That concentration is striking. IBIT’s single-fund outflow nearly matched the entire category’s prior monthly record on its own.

The price data reinforces the pressure. Bitcoin closed four of 2026’s first six months in negative territory, with June’s 20.48% decline the deepest of the year.

How Crypto ETFs Performed in June 2026The weakness extended beyond Bitcoin, though the scale varied across categories. Ethereum (ETH) ETFs posted $528.99 million in June outflows, SoSoValue data showed.

Solana (SOL) ETFs recorded net outflows of roughly $786,580. The figure is small, but it marks the first monthly outflow for Solana ETFs since their launch, ending a run of positive months.

Top Crypto ETFs Performance in June. Source: BeInCryptoNot every category turned negative. XRP (XRP) ETFs drew $59.46 million in net inflows during June, holding positive despite the broader downturn.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) ETFs led the group with $161.05 million in inflows, the strongest June showing across the products.

The split suggests capital rotated within crypto rather than exiting entirely. Newer altcoin products absorbed fresh money even as the two largest categories saw sustained redemptions.

Whether that rotation hardens will depend on how Bitcoin trades in July, since a price rebound could pull capital back toward the incumbents.

Taiwan’s legislature has enacted a new law establishing comprehensive regulations for crypto platforms and stablecoin issuers, marking a significant shift from the previous anti-money laundering registration system. The legislation introduces a formal licensing regime for virtual asset service providers (VASPs) and mandates that stablecoin issuers maintain full reserve backing in domestic financial institutions. The move aligns Taiwan with regional trends towards enhanced oversight of digital assets and indicates a major step into the regulated crypto era. This development is viewed by market participants as a potential boost for Bitcoin and Ethereum, given the positive regulatory clarity in a key Asian market.

Key Takeaways Taiwan’s regulatory move appears to provide a boost to Bitcoin’s prospects, with market pricing indicating increased confidence in achieving higher price targets. The regulatory clarity in Taiwan suggests a potential increase in institutional interest in cryptocurrencies, which could positively impact future price predictions. Market activity reflects a supportive stance towards Ethereum’s market sentiment, albeit with less direct impact compared to Bitcoin. What to Watch Observers should monitor how the new regulations influence institutional behavior towards Bitcoin and Ethereum in Taiwan. The timeline for existing VASPs to obtain full licenses and achieve regulatory approval could be a key indicator of market adaptation. Further developments in regional regulatory stances may continue to shape market dynamics and influence investor confidence in digital assets.

SharpLink nakoupila ETH, Ethereum směřuje k dalšímu poklesu

CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
SharpLink has expanded its Ethereum treasury with another 10,000 ETH purchase even as the cryptocurrency has remained on course for its third consecutive quarterly decline.

Summary

SharpLink bought another 10,000 ETH for $16.1 million, increasing its Ethereum holdings to 886,725 ETH. Ethereum is on track for its first-ever third consecutive quarterly loss despite continued treasury accumulation. Bitmine now holds more than 5.7 million ETH, adding to institutional buying as analysts watch the $1,500 support level. According to a company press release, SharpLink acquired the latest 10,000 ETH at an average price of $1,611 per token, spending approximately $16.1 million on the purchase.

The transaction increases the company’s total Ethereum holdings to 886,725 ETH and follows a $75 million capital raise completed through a registered stock offering.

SharpLink continues building its Ethereum treasury Alongside the latest crypto purchase, SharpLink stepped up its capital management efforts by repurchasing more than 2.13 million shares of its common stock, SBET, at an average price of $4.69 per share.

The company said it has now bought back over 4.07 million shares since August 2025. Despite those moves, SBET shares were trading around $4.72 at the time of writing, down nearly 4% on the day.

Source: Yahoo Finance Recent corporate developments have also added to the company’s profile. Earlier this week, SharpLink joined the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes, extending its presence in major U.S. equity benchmarks while continuing to increase its Ethereum reserves.

SharpLink is not the only listed company expanding its exposure to Ethereum. As crypto.news reported on Monday, Ethereum treasury firm Bitmine purchased another 27,084 ETH during the past week, lifting its holdings to more than 5.7 million ETH.

Based on the company’s figures, those reserves now account for about 4.7% of Ethereum’s estimated circulating supply of 120.7 million ETH, bringing Bitmine closer to its previously stated target of holding 5% of the network’s supply.

Earlier this month, crypto.news also examined the implications of treasury companies accumulating increasingly large portions of Ethereum. The report noted that sustained buying could reduce the amount of ETH available for trading, although concentrated ownership may create additional risks if companies later need to fund operations through debt, equity issuance, or asset sales during weaker market conditions.

Ethereum remains under pressure despite corporate buying Even as treasury companies continue adding to their holdings, Ethereum (ETH) has struggled to regain upward momentum. At the time of writing, ETH traded near $1,560, down about 1% on the day and roughly 25% for the quarter.

Ethereum price chart — June 30 | Source: crypto.news Current market performance also places Ethereum on track to record its third straight quarterly loss, a result that would be the first such streak in the asset’s history if the quarter closes at current levels.

Some analysts nevertheless see the recent weakness as a key technical test rather than a definitive breakdown. According to crypto analyst Ted Pillows, Ethereum could stage a relief rally next month if it manages to hold support around $1,500.

The analyst’s chart also outlined the downside risk if that level fails. Under that scenario, Ted Pillows said Ethereum could fall toward $1,400 or lower, underscoring that price direction in the coming weeks may depend on whether buyers continue defending the current support zone despite ongoing accumulation by treasury firms.

Ondo Finance přidala 430 tokenizovaných akcií na Uniswap

Ondo Finance Brings 430+ Tokenized Equities to Uniswap@OndoFinance has officially integrated more than 430 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs into the @Uniswap ecosystem, making the assets accessible directly through the Uniswap frontend on both @Ethereum and @BNBChain. The move connects two of DeFi's most prominent platforms and opens up round-the-clock on-chain access to some of the world's most traded equities for eligible non-U.S. participants.

Ondo Finance expanded its Global Markets offering by adding 173 tokenized stocks and ETFs earlier this month, bringing the platform's total catalog to more than 430 assets spanning Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain. The Uniswap integration now routes those assets through the broader decentralized liquidity network.

Uniswap has integrated tokenized securities from issuers including Ondo, xStocks, and Backed, allowing users to trade on-chain versions of assets like SpaceX, Apple, Tesla, and NVIDIA that track underlying stock prices through the Uniswap web app, wallet, and API. The integration uses Uniswap v4 hooks for compliance features such as KYC and allowlists.

UniswapX Routing and 24/7 On-Chain TradingThe assets are routable through the UniswapX API, enabling efficient order execution and deep liquidity for continuous on-chain equity trading. This is a meaningful step beyond traditional market hours: Ondo is live with 24/7 instant minting and redemption on tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, including on weekends, now across Ethereum and BNB Chain, with Solana coming soon.

Ondo Global Markets gives non-U.S. investors on-chain access to publicly traded U.S. stocks and ETFs, with each token backed 1:1 by the underlying security, purchased and held in custody by a U.S.-registered broker-dealer. The tokens provide holders with economic exposure to the value of the underlying publicly traded assets, including dividends, but are not themselves stocks or ETFs and do not provide rights to hold or receive the underlying assets.

Tokenized stocks have emerged as the fastest-growing asset class on Ethereum in 2026, with Ondo and xStocks leading the sector, according to Token Terminal data. Ondo Global Markets is also the primary issuer behind BNB Chain overtaking Solana in cumulative tokenized stock trading volume. The Uniswap integration adds another layer of distribution and liquidity to a product category that is growing rapidly across decentralized finance.

BitMine zpomalila nákupy ETH, ETF hlásí odlivy

Ethereum price today: $1,580BitMine acquired 27,084 ETH last week following its inclusion in the Russell 1000 index.ETH ETFs recorded a seventh straight week of outflows and their largest weekly negative flow since January.ETH briefly recovers to $1,600 but faces key descending trendline resistance.Ethereum (ETH) treasury firm BitMine Immersion slowed the pace of its accumulation of the top altcoin following increased weakness across the crypto market.

The Las Vegas-based firm purchased 27,084 ETH last week, increasing its total holdings to 5.7 million ETH worth $9.22 billion at the time of writing. Last week's purchase represents its fourth-lowest so far this year.

BitMine also increased its staked assets by 160,480 ETH during the period. Its total staked ETH is now at 4.879 million ETH, earning annualized staking revenue of $211 million.

The move comes as ETH continues to experience strong risk-off sentiment across the board. Last week, US spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a seventh consecutive week of net outflows and their largest negative flow since January worth $273.3 million, per SoSoValue data. The products are currently in their longest weekly outflow streak.

"This past week was a challenging one for crypto investors as ETH fell by 8%, even as Ethereum witnessed notable positive developments such as the creation of Ethlabs, and even the Bank of England softened its stance around stablecoins," said BitMine Chairman Thomas Lee in a Monday statement. "We are nearing quarter-end for June, and it is not surprising to see ‘window dressing’ leading to investors reducing their holdings in assets which have fallen in the past 3 months."

Meanwhile, BitMine was added to the Russell 1000 Large Cap index last week following the index's annual reconstitution. The company claims the Investment Company Institute (ICI) estimates that 20% of a company's shares are held in passive funds and ETFs.

“Being added to the Russell 1000 is expected to add hundreds and possibly thousands of additional institutional investors as equity owners of BitMine,” added Lee.

Last week, BitMine, together with ETH treasury SharpLink, also announced that it will fund the recently launched Ethereum research and development non-profit Ethlabs.

BitMine shares closed trading with a 1.77% gain on Monday, but remained below its net asset value.

Ethereum Price Forecast: ETH struggles at descending trendline resistanceOn the daily chart, ETH is extending its bearish bias, with price remaining well below the 20-, 50- and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), clustered between roughly $1,670 and $2,004.

The top altcoin remains trapped beneath the descending resistance trendline, with the break level near $1,626, while momentum indicators stay soft: the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 35 and the Stochastic at 26 both hint at lingering downside pressure, with only modest signs of stabilization.

On the topside, initial resistance is seen at the trendline break area around $1,626, followed by the 20-day EMA at $1,670 and the horizontal barrier at $1,741. A sustained recovery above $1,806 and the 50-day EMA at $1,826 would be needed to ease the current bearish tone, with further hurdles at $1,909 and the 100-day EMA at $2,004.

ETH/USDT daily chartOn the downside, immediate support is near $1,524, ahead of a deeper floor at $1,404, while a break below $1,155 would expose a more pronounced medium-term bearish extension.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs hemorrhaged $231 million on June 29, extending a painful streak to eight consecutive days of net withdrawals. Spot Ethereum ETFs joined the exodus with $30 million leaving the same day, according to data from SoSoValue.

The June rout by the numbers The $231 million Bitcoin outflow on June 29 wasn’t even the worst single day this month. On June 10, Bitcoin ETFs saw $214 million in redemptions while Ethereum products lost $35.6 million.

June 2026 is on pace for over $4 billion in total outflows from US spot Bitcoin ETFs. That would make it the largest monthly decline since these products first hit the market in January 2024.

BlackRock’s IBIT, the dominant fund in the space, has been a significant contributor to the recent redemptions.

On the Ethereum side, the $30.043 million net outflow on June 29 is smaller in absolute terms but still part of a broader negative trend. Ethereum ETFs have historically shown mixed flow patterns, oscillating between modest inflows and outflows. But June has tilted firmly negative.

What’s driving the pullback The short answer: macroeconomics. Rising interest rates make safe-haven assets like Treasury bonds more attractive relative to volatile ones like crypto. When a money market fund pays you a competitive yield for doing essentially nothing, the case for sitting in Bitcoin through a choppy stretch gets harder to make, especially for institutional allocators who answer to risk committees and compliance officers.

What’s changed is the duration and consistency of the selling. Previous outflow episodes tended to reverse within a few days as dip-buyers stepped in. Eight straight days without a positive session suggests something more structural is happening beneath the surface.

What this means for investors For traders watching this space, a few things are worth monitoring closely. First, whether the outflow streak breaks. Second, keep an eye on IBIT specifically. BlackRock’s fund is the bellwether for institutional sentiment in crypto ETFs.

Third, watch the macro calendar. Any shift in Fed rate expectations, whether from economic data surprises or central bank commentary, could rapidly change the calculus for institutional allocators. Crypto’s correlation with rate-sensitive assets means that a dovish surprise could reverse outflows just as quickly as hawkish expectations triggered them.

Circle přesouvá USDC z Etherea na Solanu
ETH Ethereum SOL Solana USDC USD Coin
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Circle just pulled a quarter-billion dollars worth of USDC off Ethereum and stamped out $910 million in fresh tokens on Solana. Think of it as moving cash between registers at a store, except the registers are blockchains and the cash is the second-largest stablecoin in crypto.

The net effect: a $660 million liquidity swing toward Solana.

How the burn-and-mint machine works Circle manages USDC supply through what it calls the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, or CCTP. The mechanics are straightforward: burn tokens on one chain, mint an equivalent amount on another. Every USDC in circulation is supposed to be backed 1:1 by cash and cash equivalents, so these operations don’t change the total supply. They just change where the tokens live.

The $250 million Ethereum burn and $910 million Solana issuance fit a pattern that’s been accelerating throughout 2026. Earlier in June, Circle minted $1 billion USDC on Solana in a single day. Days before that, there was a $500 million Solana mint. The cumulative gross issuance on Solana has been approaching $57 billion for the year.

USDC’s total circulation sits at approximately $73.6 billion as of late June 2026. The stablecoin is now native on over 30 networks.

Why the migration matters The institutional angle has gotten more concrete this month. Circle expanded its partnership with BNY Mellon in June 2026, enabling direct mint and burn capabilities through the bank’s custody services. That means institutional clients can now create and destroy USDC without going through Circle’s standard pipeline.

What this means for investors For Solana, more USDC on the network means deeper liquidity pools, tighter spreads on decentralized exchanges, and more attractive conditions for both traders and protocol developers.

The BNY Mellon partnership adds another layer to consider. Institutional access to direct minting and burning means that large players can respond to market conditions faster than ever.

Tether’s USDT still dominates overall stablecoin market share, but USDC’s multi-chain expansion and emphasis on full reserve transparency have carved out a distinct institutional niche. The $73.6 billion in circulation represents significant ground gained.

The risk worth flagging: concentrated minting on any single chain creates dependency. If Solana experienced a significant outage or security event, having tens of billions of USDC sitting on the network would create redemption pressure that could test Circle’s operational capacity.

Bitmine drží 4,7 % oběžné nabídky ETH

CoinGecko News 78

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: $BMNR), chaired by @fundstrat's Tom Lee, has expanded its sovereign Ethereum reserve to 5,700,040 $ETH, placing the firm in control of 4.7% of the total circulating supply of 120.7 million tokens, according to a filing with the SEC.

World's Largest Corporate ETH TreasuryThe company's combined crypto, cash, and marketable securities holdings stand at $9.8 billion, cementing its position as the world's largest corporate Ethereum treasury. Bitmine's crypto holdings rank as the number one Ethereum treasury and number two global crypto treasury, behind Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR). The firm has set an explicit target it calls the "alchemy of 5%," aiming to hold 5% of all circulating $ETH sometime in 2026. As of its latest disclosure, Bitmine is 94% of the way to that goal in just 11 months.

A significant portion of those holdings is already put to work. The company has 4,879,157 ETH staked, representing $7.7 billion at $1,569 per ETH, through its MAVAN (Made in America VAlidator Network) platform. Annualized staking revenues are projected at around $230 million.

Russell 1000 Inclusion and $BMNP Preferred Stock Bitmine was added to the Russell 1000 Index, with the inclusion becoming effective following the 2026 Russell U.S. Index reconstitution. The Russell 1000 is one of the main U.S. large-cap equity benchmarks, and inclusion typically brings fresh demand from funds that track it, increasing liquidity in the stock.

The company has also bolstered its balance sheet through the capital markets. On June 10, Bitmine closed an offering of 3,500,000 shares of its 9.50% Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock at $80.00 per share, receiving net proceeds of approximately $273.8 million after underwriting discounts and expenses. The Series A Preferred Stock trades on the NYSE under the symbol $BMNP, with dividends scheduled to be paid weekly. The company intends to use the proceeds to buy more Ethereum and other digital assets and scale its MAVAN staking and validator infrastructure.

On the broader strategic outlook, Lee has pointed to tokenization and artificial intelligence as key demand drivers for Ethereum. "The best years for crypto remain ahead, in our view. Tokenization and the rapid progress in AI are expected to drive exponential demand growth for blockchain and decentralized crypto," Lee stated.

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has published an in-depth examination of a sophisticated exploit that drained at least $7.5 million from JaredfromSubway.eth, widely regarded as Ethereum’s most active sandwich-attack operator. According to insights from Chainalysis, the incident unfolded over June 20–21, 2026, when an unknown attacker used a reverse honeypot to turn the bot’s own aggressive trading logic against it.

As explained by Chainalysis, these so-called sandwich attacks are a common maximal extractable value (MEV) tactic on Ethereum.

Bots monitor the public mempool for pending user transactions and insert their own orders around them.

They typically buy a token immediately before the victim’s purchase to push the price higher, then sell right after, profiting from the resulting slippage while the original trader receives a worse execution price.

JaredfromSubway.eth, operating pseudonymously since 2023, built one of the most successful versions of this strategy.

At its peak, the bot was among the network’s largest gas consumers and was estimated to have cost other traders roughly $60 million annually in unfavorable trades while generating tens of millions in profits for its operator.

The June exploit began weeks earlier when the attacker deployed 66 fake token contracts that closely mimicked legitimate assets such as WETH, USDC, and USDT.

These were paired with fabricated liquidity pools engineered to appear as profitable sandwich opportunities.

JaredfromSubway.eth’s bot, optimized for rapid detection of mempool activity, repeatedly interacted with the deceptive contracts.

In doing so, it granted token-spending approvals to the malicious smart contracts.

These approvals were never revoked and accumulated across multiple transactions.

Once sufficient approvals were in place, a tripwire smart contract controlled by the attacker activated.

A single coordinated transaction then swept the bot’s wallets, extracting approximately $7.5 million in Ether and stablecoins.

Chainalysis tracked the subsequent flow using its on-chain tools: the attacker quickly swapped the stablecoins for Ether to reduce freeze risk from issuers, distributed the funds across several wallets, and routed them through Tornado Cash. No recoveries have been reported.

The attack succeeded because the bot granted spending permissions to contracts it never properly vetted.

Chainalysis notes that the operator prioritized speed over basic due diligence, such as checking contract verification status on Etherscan or reviewing deployment history.

This oversight allowed the fake pools to function as an effective honeypot.

The incident carries broader lessons for DeFi participants.

Token approvals function as ongoing permissions that can remain active indefinitely unless explicitly revoked.

Many users—retail traders and automated systems alike—grant broad or unlimited spending rights to contracts they have never reviewed.

Chainalysis highlights the risks of interacting with newly deployed or unverified liquidity pools that lack an established track record.

The firm recommends regularly revoking unused approvals and exercising caution with unfamiliar contracts before approving any spending rights.

Even highly optimized MEV bots are not immune to deception when security hygiene is neglected.

The JaredfromSubway.eth case demonstrates that the same on-chain mechanisms enabling profitable trading can be weaponized by attackers who understand how these systems operate. As Chainalysis observes, protecting against such exploits requires consistent attention to approvals and contract verification, practices that apply equally to sophisticated operators and everyday DeFi users.

BitMine přidala Ethereum, Strategy Bitcoin nekoupila

CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
In brief BitMine added another $43 million in Ethereum to its balance sheet last week, despite falling prices. The firm now holds more than 5.7 million ETH valued around $9 billion. As BitMine continued its consistent purchases, top Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy did not add to its holdings last week. Leading Ethereum treasury firm BitMine Immersion Technologies stayed consistent in the face of declining crypto prices last week, adding nearly $43 million in ETH to its stash even while top Bitcoin treasury company Strategy opted against accumulating BTC.

The firm now holds more than 5.7 million ETH, valued around $9 billion. It also holds around 206 Bitcoin, worth $12.3 million.

“This past week was a challenging one for crypto investors as ETH fell by 8%, even as Ethereum witnessed notable positive developments such as the creation of Ethlabs, and even the Bank of England softened its stance around stablecoins,” said BitMine Chairman Tom Lee in a statement. (Disclaimer: Lee is an investor in Decrypt parent company, Dastan).

Ethlabs, a new nonprofit research and development lab dedicated to championing the future of the Ethereum network and its native asset, is financially backed by BitMine and competing treasury firm Sharplink.

Lee maintained that crypto's future looks bright, and said the firm “remains focused on the longer-term horizon,” highlighting tailwinds like agentic payments and institutional adoption of crypto rails.

“We are nearing quarter-end for June, and it is not surprising to see 'window dressing' leading to investors reducing their holdings in assets which have fallen in the past three months,” he said.

The firm’s primary treasury asset, ETH, has now fallen 22% in the last month of trading, recently trading hands at $1,567. At that mark, ETH is now 68% off its all-time high of $4,946.

Bitcoin has performed marginally better, dipping 19% in the last month of trading and more than 52% from its all-time high of $126,080, changing hands on Monday at $59,324.

As its primary treasury vehicle slides, so too have shares in BitMine (BMNR). The firm’s stock has fallen nearly 17% in the last five trading days and more than 31% in the last month of trading, recently trading at $13.21—down about 2.6% so far Monday.

Shares are now down more than 91% from a 52-week high of $161 established shortly after the firm adopted its Ethereum treasury strategy last June.

That crypto-amassing model was pioneered by Bitcoin giant Strategy and its co-founder and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, who started aggressively accumulating BTC in 2020. While the firm had aggressively and consistently added BTC on a nearly weekly basis in recent years, it did not add to its holdings last week amid scrutiny of its preferred equity offering, STRC, which fell to new lows on Friday.

Instead, the firm approved plans to sell up to $1.25 billion worth of Bitcoin to build up its cash reserves to fuel dividend payments.

XRP po testu hranice 1 USD vzrostl o 2,95 %
ETH Ethereum XRP Ripple
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
XRP dipped all the way to the 1 dollar mark on Friday, putting this key threshold to the test once again. As selling pressure remained strong throughout the week, market participants closely watched the US Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index for May, one of the Federal Reserve’s preferred gauges of inflation. The data hinted that inflation is proving more persistent than anticipated, prompting a cautious tone toward riskier assets.

Short term scenarios dominate the XRP outlookOver the course of three straight days, XRP declined and tested the heavy trading zone around 1.06 dollars, seeing about 830 million XRP change hands at this level. However, buyers struggled to hold the support and the price retreated to the 1 dollar boundary.

Following Friday’s low, buying interest emerged and the recovery extended into Saturday. Over the past 24 hours, XRP has gained 2.95 percent, most recently trading at 1.07 dollars. The key near-term question is whether support at 1.06 dollars can be reestablished, allowing the bounce to continue.

Analysts now see three possible paths for XRP in the short run: a continued recovery, a period of sideways movement, or a decline below 1 dollar.

Alternatively, if the market waits for fresh direction, the price could remain stuck in a narrow band. However, should the current levels fail, a fresh drop below the psychological 1 dollar mark may become likely, drawing attention to previous zones of strong trading activity as potential supports.

According to crypto analyst Ali, if XRP breaks below the critical 1 dollar level, three key price supports come into focus. Roughly 923 million XRP changed hands at 0.80 dollars, 1.16 billion at 0.62 dollars, and 1.06 billion at 0.51 dollars—areas where heavy historical trading activity makes them likely candidates for a potential price floor.

For the first time, on-chain supply of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger has surpassed that on Ethereum. Data tracking Ripple stablecoins shows 810 million dollars’ worth of RLUSD now circulating on XRP Ledger, while supply on the Ethereum network remains at approximately 760 million dollars.

XRP Ledger is Ripple’s proprietary blockchain network, widely used for cross-border payment solutions. RLUSD—a stablecoin tied to the US dollar—is designed for both institutional and retail payments across different platforms within the Ripple ecosystem.

RLUSD’s in-circulation supply on XRP Ledger reached 810 million dollars, while on the Ethereum network, the figure stood at 760 million dollars.

Regulatory green light for RLUSD in JapanJapan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has now officially recognized RLUSD under the country’s Payment Services Act as a new kind of electronic payment instrument. This move paves the way for Ripple’s stablecoin product to be used within Japan’s regulated financial markets.

Plans are in place to offer RLUSD in Japan through SBI VC Trade, making it available to both institutional investors and individual users. SBI VC Trade operates as a crypto platform under the umbrella of Japan’s financial giant SBI Holdings, expanding its product lineup to include the new stablecoin.

SharpLink nakoupil ETH za 62,4 milionu USD
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Sharplink, the second-largest Ethereum [ETH] treasury company, purchased an additional 29,196 ETH for $46.7 million on the 27th of June. In fact, Lookonchain reported that the Ethereum DATs amassed 39,196 ETH, worth $62.4 million, over the last three days.

Source: Lookonchain/X This marks Sharplink’s second purchase after an eight‑month pause. The first occurred when the firm added 5,000 ETH through FalconX, worth about $7.88 million at an average price of $1,576. With these acquisitions, Sharplink now holds 868,699 ETH in total, including 22,102 staked tokens. Meanwhile, its stock closed at $4.81, up 5.48% from the prior trading day.

Sharplink vs. Bitmine Meanwhile, on the 22nd of June, Bitmine, the biggest Ethereum DAT, paid $92 million to acquire an additional 52,203 Ethereum. As of right now, Bitmine has 5,672,956 ETH worth $8.92 billion.

Bitmine’s Tom Lee also stressed that his firm plans to continue growing steadily through 2026 and ultimately accomplish the “alchemy of 5%.” Although Sharplink has not yet disclosed such plans, the ETH accumulation strategy has been relatively comparable.

Ethereum’s market dynamics paint a concerning picture All this happened as ETH was trading at $1,568.75, the lowest level since April 2025. Meanwhile, Ethereum’s Spot Taker CVD has lost some of its aggressive buying momentum, which is a major shift compared to June 2025.

Although buyers are still present in the market, their influence has waned. Unlike the strong accumulation phase seen a year ago, the current demand indicates buyer exhaustion.

Source: CryptoQuant Final Summary Sharplink added more ETH in the past three days, pushing its total ETH holding to 868,699 ETH in total. Sharplink’s stock price also jumped after the ETH accumulation, but ETH’s price was changing hands around the $1500 price level.

28 June 2026 | 13:38 Ethereum is ending the second quarter of 2026 in a rough spot: two consecutive double-digit negative quarters, a market cap that has slipped out of the global top 100 assets, and a derivatives market where buyers are present but unable to push price higher.

Key Takeaways Ethereum is closing Q2 2026 with two straight double-digit negative quarters. Its market cap has fallen out of the global top 100 assets. Buyers are active in derivatives, but price isn’t responding. The only comparable back-to-back negative Q1 and Q2 were in 2022; 2018 remains the sharpest downside risk scenario for what follows. One of the most telling signals is in the order flow. The Taker Buy/Sell Ratio sits at 1.13, meaning aggressive buyers are outnumbering sellers on Binance. Normally that pushes price up. It isn’t. The Fund Price at $12.59 has been declining since April despite that buying pressure, and that combination is the problem.

What it points to is absorption: the sell orders are large enough to neutralize the incoming buy flow without price responding. When buying pressure exists but price stays flat or falls, the more likely explanation, as the analysis frames it, is distribution, larger holders using bounces to exit, rather than accumulation building a base. It’s worth being precise that order-flow data can’t name who is selling; what it shows is buying being absorbed, and distribution is the reading that best fits that behavior.

On-chain data confirms who is doing the selling. Crypto analyst Ali Charts wrote on X that large-scale holders offloaded roughly 550,000 ETH over the past week, injecting $880 million in sell-side supply into the market. That selling pressure pushed ETH below its immediate $1,633 support floor, with the market now testing critical volume support at $1,583. According to URPD data cited by Ali Charts, losing that level opens a path toward extended liquidations, with the next high-volume demand zones sitting at $1,237 and $1,089 if distribution continues into next week.

2026 in Historical Context The quarterly numbers put the weakness in perspective. Q1 2026 finished at -29.26% and Q2 at -24.75%. The only year in ETH’s recorded history with a comparable back-to-back negative Q1 and Q2 was 2022, which posted -10.75% and -67.34% respectively. 2018 had a positive Q2 (+15.29%) before collapsing in Q3 (-48.69%) and Q4 (-41.62%), making it the relevant downside risk scenario rather than a structural match. In every other year that opened with a negative Q1, ETH recovered in Q2. 2026 has not followed that pattern.

Year Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 2018 -46.61% +15.29% -48.69% -41.62% 2022 -10.75% -67.34% +24.09% -9.94% 2026 -29.26% -24.75% — — That matters for what comes next. The historical Q3 average is +7.4% with a median of +8.19%, and Q3 has been positive in the majority of recorded years, which may normally be an encouraging base rate. But there is some exceptions: in 2018 for example, Q3 came in at -48.69%. So the historical record cuts both ways, the typical Q3 is positive, but still sometimes it was sharply negative.

The Top-100 Milestone ETH falling out of the global top 100 assets by market cap isn’t a separate event, it’s a direct consequence of the price decline. It’s a measure of how far Ethereum’s market cap has compressed relative to the full universe of global assets, equities, commodities, and everything else ranked by size. The milestone is symbolic rather than mechanical, but it captures how much ground the asset has given up.

🚨 WILD: Ethereum is no longer a top 100 asset ranked by market cap. pic.twitter.com/9IRIBJMkq6

— Cointelegraph (@Cointelegraph) June 27, 2026

Pulling it together: the order flow shows buyers active but unable to move price, which most plausibly reflects larger holders distributing into strength; the quarterly record shows a two-quarter decline matched structurally only by 2022, with 2018 providing the sharpest downside risk scenario for what follows; and the market-cap milestone underlines the scale of the compression. None of this predicts where ETH goes next. The data describes a market under real structural pressure, with a forward path that the history can frame but not settle.

The signal worth watching into July is straightforward: whether this absorption pattern breaks toward heavier selling, or whether the steady buyer flow finally overcomes the resistance that has been capping it. That probably could give a sign on which way the pressure is resolving.

Ethereum is trading for $1,570 at the time of writing after 6.7% drop for the past 7 days, according to CoinMarketCap data.

ETH ETF zaznamenaly další odlivy ve výši 12,85 mil. USD
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Institutional appetite for Ethereum [ETH] continues to weaken as investors reduce exposure to risk assets amid uncertain market conditions. U.S. spot ETH ETFs recently recorded another $12.85 million in net outflows, extending a broader slowdown in fund demand despite cumulative net inflows remaining near $11 billion.

With this reduction, there will be less institutional capital available to buy Ethereum to help stabilize prices as they continue to decline.

Source: SoSoValue As such, Ethereum now relies more heavily on staking demand, layer-2 activity, and natural organic spot buying to help stabilize prices. If Ethereum network demand increases, then it is possible that the markets can begin to absorb some excess supply.

However, if institutional demand does not increase, then we should expect longer-term consolidation and increased vulnerability to sentiment-driven price movements.

ETH bears retain control despite buying pressure Institutional demand has already weakened, and derivatives activity now suggests bearish conviction is strengthening. Market structure may be decisively bearish unless spot flows and leverage flows simultaneously turn positive again.

Meanwhile, the fund price has declined steadily from its April peak to 12.59. This dynamic reflects a fading appetite for leveraged long positions. Moreover, this divergence shows that buyers, though appearing more aggressive, are becoming less effective, leaving bears firmly in control of short‑term price action.

Source: Arkham Although moving assets to this new address does not necessarily indicate that the person behind the transaction is planning to sell their asset. Yet, previous instances of like-sized on-chain asset movements have occurred before liquidity events, making subsequent wallet activity the key signal to monitor.

If the funds remain in self-custody, the transfer will likely reflect routine wallet management. However, deposits to exchanges or OTC counterparties could reinforce existing bearish sentiment and increase expectations of additional selling pressure.

Final Summary Ethereum remained vulnerable as weakening institutional demand and bearish market structure continue limiting recovery momentum. ETH needs stronger spot demand to offset selling pressure and restore sustained bullish momentum.

Ethereum debatuje o odklonu stakingových odměn

CoinGecko News 72

TL;DR

A proposal on Ethereum Research suggests redirecting part of staking rewards toward public goods funding. Supporters see sustainable decentralized funding, while critics warn of protocol-level overreach. The proposal is not approved and should be treated as an early governance debate. Staking Economics And Ethereum Governance: Why This Story Matters Ethereum Protocol Debate: Diverting Staking Rewards for Public Goods Funding Sparks Controversy has become one of the stronger weekend crypto stories because it sits at the intersection of price action, market structure, and the kind of narrative that traders tend to follow closely when the broader news cycle slows down.

The key point is not simply that the proposal was published on ethresear.ch. It is that the development gives the market a fresh way to judge whether the current crypto environment is being driven by genuine network adoption, regulatory progress, liquidity shifts, or short-term speculation.

The Main Details According to the official source material, the proposal was published on ethresear.ch. The report also notes that it suggests a protocol-level mechanism to redirect a portion of staking rewards to public goods funding.

That distinction matters because crypto markets often move first on headlines and only later separate durable developments from short-lived momentum. In this case, the verified boundaries are especially important: Do not claim this is approved or scheduled for a hard fork.

Market Context For traders, the story arrives at a moment when crypto assets are still trying to define a clearer direction. Bitcoin remains the anchor for broader sentiment, but altcoin narratives are increasingly being judged on their own fundamentals, including usage, liquidity, compliance, treasury activity, and developer progress.

That makes this development relevant beyond a single token or company. If the underlying trend proves durable, it could help shape how investors evaluate Ethereum, ETH, Staking, Governance, Public Goods over the coming weeks. If it fades, however, it may become another example of a strong weekend narrative that struggled to translate into sustained market follow-through.

What To Watch Next The next important question is whether the market receives further confirmation from primary sources, dashboards, official announcements, or on-chain data. Follow-up disclosures, exchange data, governance updates, or wallet activity could all help clarify whether this is an isolated headline or the start of a broader theme.

Readers should also watch whether liquidity responds. In crypto, even fundamentally meaningful developments can fail to move prices if traders remain defensive, leverage is being unwound, or capital is rotating into other sectors. That is why this story should be read alongside broader market structure rather than in isolation.

This report is based on information from Ethereum Research.

AMLBot: Polymarket přišel při phishingu o 3,1 milionu USD
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Blockchain intelligence firm AMLBot has confirmed the Polymarket supply-chain attack total at approximately $3.1 million in PUSD across 11 user wallets, with funds bridged from Polygon to Ethereum and converted to ETH. Polymarket has pledged full refunds but has not named the compromised vendor.

Blockchain intelligence firm AMLBot has fixed the total stolen in Thursday's Polymarket supply-chain attack at approximately $3.1 million in PUSD, providing the first forensically confirmed on-chain dollar figure and tracing the stolen assets from Polygon to Ethereum. On-chain investigator Specter, which published the first public alert, identified more than 11 victim wallets.

AMLBot posted the revised tally on Saturday, two days after on-chain investigators first flagged the drain. The figure revises earlier estimates upward and, for the first time, pins both the dollar amount to a single on-chain intelligence source. AMLBot said it continues to monitor affected accounts as the investigation proceeds.

From Front-End to BridgeThe attack, covered by The Defiant on Thursday, began when a compromised third-party vendor injected malicious JavaScript into Polymarket's website. The code targeted user transactions at the front-end layer; Polymarket's smart contracts on Polygon were untouched. Polymarket confirmed fewer than 15 accounts were affected, consistent with scope described by on-chain security researchers tracking the wallets in real time.

On-chain investigator Specter published the first public alert and identified the attacker's primary consolidation address on Ethereum: `0xe65b1C586757c5510B60F998Eebb14C1eF71E1eD`. PeckShield confirmed the stolen funds were bridged from Polygon to Ethereum and then swapped into roughly 1,893 ETH. Bubblemaps independently counted fewer than 15 affected accounts and estimated $3 million in losses being refunded.

PUSD is Polymarket's native collateral token, a Polygon-based ERC-20 minted 1:1 against USDC.e through the platform's on-chain collateral contracts. Deployed in April 2026 per on-chain records, PUSD operates exclusively within the platform and carries no external exchange listing, so the attacker had to convert it to ETH to exit. The token held its $1.00 peg throughout the incident, per PolygonScan data for the pUSD contract on Polygon.

Refund Commitment, Vendor Still UnnamedPolymarket posted on X Thursday morning saying it had contained the attack, removed the malicious dependency, and would refund impacted users in full. William LeGate confirmed the repayment would be total, adding in a second post that there were "no user 'losses.'" The platform has not publicly named the compromised vendor across any channel since the incident was disclosed.

Initial independent estimates put the theft at $2.94 million, based on on-chain wallet tallies by Specter Analyst, while PeckShield and other firms rounded to roughly $3 million. AMLBot's Saturday update lifts the confirmed total by approximately $160,000 from Specter's initial read.

TechCrunch reported that a Polymarket spokesperson confirmed the breach but declined to provide further detail. Security researchers at CyberInsider and BleepingComputer both classified the incident as a supply-chain attack, the type where a downstream dependency injects hostile code into a trusted application, rather than a direct protocol exploit.

Platform ContextThe platform currently holds $432 million in total value locked on Polygon, per DefiLlama. Security trackers cataloguing Q2 2026 DeFi incidents have counted the June 25 Polymarket attack among a sustained wave of supply-chain and front-end compromises targeting DeFi infrastructure in 2026.

Polymarket has committed to refunding affected users in full but has set no public timeline for completion and has not disclosed the identity of the third-party vendor whose compromise triggered the attack.

SEC a CFTC žádají připomínky ke krypto futures

CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have jointly called for public comment on their approach to harmonizing regulatory frameworks for crypto futures. The proposed public comment on the SEC CFTC framework comes amid the recent approval of crypto perpetual futures in the U.S.

Calls For Public Comment On SEC CFTC Framework In a press release, the SEC and CFTC issued a joint request for public comment on potential approaches to further harmonize regulatory frameworks applicable to portfolio margining across securities, security-based swaps, futures, swaps, and related positions. The public comment period will remain open for 60 days after the publication in the Federal Register. This is significant as the CFTC notably regulates prediction markets, which trade swaps.

Furthermore, this follows the launch of crypto perpetual futures in the U.S., with Kalshi securing CFTC approval to offer BTC, ETH, XRP, and HYPE futures. The request for public comment on the SEC CFTC framework also comes amid the rise in tokenized securities, with platforms such as Hyperliquid offering perpetuals for these securities.

The SEC and CFTC noted that the request for comment will assist them in evaluating whether greater coordination or alignment in portfolio margining requirements may improve risk management efficiency, reduce unnecessary market fragmentation, and enhance consumer protections.

Meanwhile, this marks the latest coordination between the SEC and CFTC towards providing clear frameworks that boost the crypto and financial markets. As CoinGape reported, the SEC and CFTC are pushing to clarify the definitions of derivative products, including definitions of swaps and security-based swaps, and how to treat them.

A Move To Further Promote Innovation SEC Chair Paul Atkins noted that further harmonizing the SEC CFTC framework will ensure that jurisdictional overlap does not stifle innovation and efficiency. “Cross-margining offers a clear opportunity to unlock liquidity that remains frozen in separate accounts, and we encourage market participants to provide feedback on ideas that will help improve coordination between both agencies,” he said.

Commenting on this move, CFTC Chair Michael Selig said that fostering enhanced cooperation between the two agencies on portfolio margining promises to unlock untapped capital while ensuring a more robust risk management framework and market protections. The CFTC is currently facing a lawsuit from the CME over its approval of crypto futures.

The CME argues that crypto perpetuals are swaps, not futures contracts, and that the regulator approved these products the wrong way. These crypto futures are already seeing significant demand, with Kalshi’s products recording over $1 billion in trading volume in under two weeks after they launched.

Polymarket vidí 76% šanci na pád ETH na 1 500 USD do konce roku 2026

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Polymarket traders assign a 76% probability that Ethereum will reach $1,500 before the end of 2026, reflecting near-total conviction in further downside from current levels. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded 17 consecutive days of net outflows totaling $401 million in May 2026, setting the longest institutional withdrawal streak in ETH history. A confirmed death cross on the daily chart, where the 50-day EMA crossed below the 200-day EMA, preceded months of further decline in both prior Ethereum bear markets. The Glamsterdam protocol upgrade, originally targeting June 2026, has been delayed to Q3 2026, removing the primary near-term catalyst that bulls had used to anchor support. Ethereum trades below its 20-day, 50-day, and 100-day exponential moving averages, all clustered between $1,740 and $2,050, creating a dense resistance wall above current price action. Ethereum traded near $1,670 on June 25, 2026, holding just above a support zone that has protected every major low since the 2022 bear market bottom. The $1,500 level has drawn $3.9 million in total volume on Polymarket prediction markets alone, where traders now price a 76% chance that ETH reaches that threshold before year-end.

That conviction stems from a convergence of signals: record ETF outflows, a confirmed death cross, and a delayed protocol upgrade that had been the last remaining bullish catalyst for Q2.

This article examines the technical, fundamental, and on-chain data behind the growing consensus that $1,500 is no longer a floor but a destination, and what that shift means for positioning.

Record ETF Outflows Signal Institutional Retreat U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs logged 17 consecutive trading days of net outflows in May, totaling $401 million and setting a record for the longest institutional withdrawal streak Ethereum has experienced.

On June 23 alone, ETH ETFs recorded $82 million in net outflows, marking the fourth straight day of withdrawals as market caution grew amid U.S.-Iran tensions and shifting interest rate expectations. The institutional retreat contrasts sharply with the accumulation thesis that dominated late 2025.

When spot ETH ETFs launched, proponents argued that regulated institutional vehicles would create a persistent demand floor.

That thesis has not survived contact with a 65% drawdown from the approximately $4,950 all-time high reached in August 2025. Funding rates have turned negative and open interest has declined sharply, suggesting a leverage flush rather than a fresh uptrend, according to data reviewed by Cryptopolitan analysts.

Death Cross and Descending Channel Frame the Technical Picture A death cross confirmed on the daily chart when the 50-day exponential moving average crossed below the 200-day EMA. In Ethereum’s prior bear markets of 2018 and 2022, this signal preceded months of further decline before any sustained recovery began.

ETH currently trades below its 20-day, 50-day, and 100-day EMAs, all clustered between $1,740 and $2,050. That alignment creates a dense resistance wall. Analyst Ardi stated on X that ETH has one responsibility over the next four months: do not start closing below $1,500.

He noted the level has held every major low since the 2022 bottom, and losing it would force a reconsideration of bullish assumptions, Ardi wrote on June 24. Immediate support sits at $1,585, with a deeper floor at $1,468 if the current level fails.

Glamsterdam Delay Removes the Last Bullish Catalyst The Glamsterdam upgrade represents Ethereum’s most significant protocol change since the Merge. Originally targeting June 2026, the upgrade has been officially delayed to Q3 2026, removing the primary catalyst that bulls had been using to anchor a price floor for the current quarter.

Glamsterdam’s two headline components are Enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation (ePBS) and Block-Level Access Lists (BALs). The ePBS feature removes reliance on third-party MEV relays to match block builders with validators.

BALs enable parallel transaction execution by requiring each block to declare upfront which accounts it will read and write. A confirmed 200-million-gas limit floor was set at the Soldøgn Interop in April 2026, representing a 233% increase from the current limit.

Analysis: The delay matters because price catalysts derive their power from proximity. A Q2 upgrade creates a tradable event in the present quarter; a Q3 timeline pushes it into seasonal low-volume months, reducing the probability that institutional capital will front-run the event.

Prediction Markets Quantify the Downside Consensus Polymarket now prices a 76% chance that ETH hits $1,500 before year-end, while Kalshi shows 73%. That level of convergence across two independent prediction platforms is unusual.

The $1,500 zone aligns with a high-footprint anchored volume profile, according to Coinpedia analysis, meaning significant historical volume traded at that price, which can act as either support or a magnet for price.

Analyst James Easton compared Ethereum’s current weekly chart to the Russell 2000 index. The Russell 2000 has broken above its resistance near 2,500, but Ethereum remains below its equivalent zone near $4,300 to $5,100.

A confirmed move above approximately $5,100 could place Ethereum in price discovery, Easton noted, though that requires a reversal of the current downtrend as a prerequisite.

Regulatory Implications The SEC has not issued new guidance on spot Ethereum ETFs during the current drawdown. If outflows continue at the current pace, issuers may face pressure to reduce fees or restructure fund terms to stem redemptions.

The delayed Glamsterdam upgrade also raises questions about whether the SEC’s classification framework for ETH could shift if staking mechanics change significantly post-upgrade.

What’s Next? The immediate test is whether ETH can hold above $1,585 and reclaim $1,685 on a daily close. The Glamsterdam upgrade timeline in Q3 2026 provides the next fundamental catalyst. Prediction market pricing currently embeds an assumption that the $1,500 test is a matter of when, not if.

FAQs What does the Ethereum death cross mean for price?
A death cross occurs when the 50-day EMA crosses below the 200-day EMA, signaling medium-term momentum has turned negative relative to the long-term trend.

How many consecutive days of ETH ETF outflows occurred?
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded 17 consecutive days of net outflows in May 2026, totaling $401 million and setting a record for institutional ETH withdrawal streaks.

What is the Glamsterdam upgrade for Ethereum?
Glamsterdam is Ethereum’s next major protocol upgrade, featuring Enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation and Block-Level Access Lists, now delayed from June to Q3 2026 release.

What probability do prediction markets assign to ETH hitting $1,500?
Polymarket prices a 76% chance, and Kalshi shows 73% probability that ETH will reach $1,500 before the end of the 2026 calendar year.

Where is the next major Ethereum support level?
Immediate support sits at $1,585 with a deeper floor at $1,468, and the $1,500 level aligns with anchored volume profile data from prior cycles.

What caused the Ethereum price decline in 2026?
A combination of record ETF outflows, a confirmed death cross, the Glamsterdam upgrade delay, and broader macro risk-off sentiment drove ETH below $1,700.

Can Ethereum recover above $5,000 from current levels?
Analyst James Easton noted a confirmed move above $5,100 could place ETH in price discovery, but the current descending channel must reverse first.

Čtyři neaktivní peněženky prodaly ETH za 52,5 milionu USD
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72

After remaining untouched for nearly eight years, four Ethereum wallets have suddenly reactivated and executed large-scale sales. On-chain data reveals that these wallets collectively offloaded 33,623 ETH within just four hours, at an average price of $1,560 per ETH.

Wallets awakened after years of inactivityThese four wallets originally accumulated a total of 37,602 ETH in 2018, buying in at an average price of around $830 per token. In the latest transactions, most of these holdings were transferred to exchanges and sold off. According to available information, the total proceeds from the sales reached $52.5 million.

Mini glossary: Lookonchain is an on-chain analytics account that tracks blockchain transfers and large wallet movements. Arkham is a blockchain data platform renowned for tracing wallet activity and associating addresses.

Movements tracked by Lookonchain and cross-checked with Arkham data point to a realized profit of approximately $27.4 million based on entry costs. The article shares the wallet addresses involved and notes that these remained largely dormant since their initial accumulation period.

In its post, Lookonchain highlighted that the ETH had been held for eight years before finally being sold, yet even after all that time, the wallets did not benefit from previous, higher market valuations.

While these sales demonstrate that long-term investors can still lock in gains despite weakened market conditions, the profits remain limited compared to what could have been achieved during peak market rallies.

Profits fall short of all-time highsData shows that on paper, these wallets’ holdings once exceeded $150 million during past bull cycles. However, the owners did not sell during the major surges of 2021 and 2025, passing on peak exit opportunities.

Ethereum reached its all-time high of about $4,946 in August 2025. At that level, the wallets in question were worth exponentially more than the recent selling prices. Instead, the most recent sales occurred with ETH trading around $1,560.

ItemDataInitial amount purchased37,602 ETHAverage entry price$830Amount sold33,623 ETHAverage selling price$1,560Total proceeds$52.5 millionRealized profit$27.4 millionAnalysts point out that the divergence between potential peak value and realized profit exposes missed opportunities during past booms. The rapid completion of these recent sales also underscores a trend of long-term Ethereum holders now liquidating some of their positions.

Available data show that these wallets, after years of dormancy, executed sizable sales in a brief period. This pattern resembles recent behavior among other long-standing Ethereum holders.

Similar moves witnessed beforeThis string of transactions marks the latest example of early Ethereum investors reducing their holdings after years on the sidelines. In March, another early adopter sold roughly $31 million worth of Ethereum.

April likewise saw an ICO participant transfer 10,000 ETH, valued at approximately $23 million, after years of inactivity. With these latest moves, the reactivation of previously idle wallets is under close watch by market observers.

BMNR je zařazena do Russell 1000 a může přilákat miliardové pasivní přílivy
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Bitmine Immersion Technologies, trading as BMNR on the NYSE, has met the eligibility criteria for inclusion in the Russell 1000 Index. The addition is expected to take effect on June 26, 2026, following a preliminary list publication in May 2026.

What Bitmine actually is, and why the Russell 1000 matters The company holds approximately 5.67 million ETH, which represents roughly 4.7% of the total Ethereum supply. Combined with cash and other assets, its total holdings clock in at approximately $10.7 billion.

The Russell 1000 Index tracks the largest 1,000 US-listed companies by market capitalization. It serves as a benchmark for large-cap investing, and more importantly, it’s the reference index for a massive ecosystem of passive funds, ETFs, and institutional portfolios that automatically buy whatever the index tells them to buy.

Chairman Tom Lee indicated that the resulting inflows from index trackers could reach into the billions.

The Ethereum thesis, wrapped in a stock ticker BMNR co-founded Ethlabs, a collaborative initiative designed to accelerate Ethereum’s institutional adoption. The effort reportedly involves notable figures from the Ethereum ecosystem, including Joe Lubin.

The company’s investor roster includes ARK Invest, Founders Fund, and Pantera Capital.

The stock trades with high liquidity, reportedly seeing hundreds of millions in daily volume.

What this means for investors When passive funds buy BMNR shares, they’re indirectly gaining exposure to 5.67 million ETH. That means pension funds, 401(k) plans, and retirement accounts benchmarked to the Russell 1000 will, whether they realize it or not, suddenly have a slice of their portfolio tied to the price of Ethereum.

When MSTR entered the Nasdaq 100 in late 2024, it triggered a wave of passive buying that helped stabilize the stock’s premium to its underlying Bitcoin holdings.

The preliminary list drops in May 2026, which gives institutional investors about a month to position ahead of the June 26 effective date.

Krypto ETF za 30 dní ztratily 5 miliard USD
BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum SOL Solana
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Institutional demand for cryptocurrency ETFs weakened sharply this week as investors pulled billions of dollars from products tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP. The latest wave of redemptions coincided with Bitcoin falling below $60,000, marking one of the most challenging periods for crypto investment products since the launch of spot ETFs in the United States.

US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded their largest daily net outflow in June on Thursday, while Solana ETFs are headed toward their first monthly net outflows on record. Across the broader market, crypto ETFs have collectively lost approximately $5 billion over the past 30 days, highlighting a widespread shift in investor sentiment.

Bitcoin ETFs post June's biggest outflow According to SoSoValue data, US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $696.29 million on Thursday, surpassing the previous monthly high of $519.2 million recorded on June 2. The latest withdrawals extended Bitcoin ETF outflows to 6 consecutive trading days.

June has now recorded total net Bitcoin ETF outflows of $3.61 billion, while year-to-date net outflows have reached $4.56 billion. Since the beginning of May, investors have withdrawn approximately $6.04 billion from spot Bitcoin ETFs.

The selling pressure also appeared concentrated among the industry's largest funds. Fidelity's FBTC recorded $274 million in net outflows on Thursday, while BlackRock's IBIT lost another $265 million. The previous trading session on June 24 had already seen another $469.08 million leave US spot Bitcoin ETFs. The outflows have significantly reduced the size of the US Bitcoin ETF market.

SoSoValue data shows that total net assets across US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs have fallen below $73 billion for the first time since late 2024. Combined assets now stand at approximately $72.57 billion. The decline represents a substantial drop from the sector's peak of $169.5 billion reached in October 2025, leaving total assets approximately 57% below their record highs.

More recently, total Bitcoin ETF assets have fallen from $104.29 billion on May 15 to $72.57 billion, extending a 7-week decline. Bitcoin ETF assets now represent 6.09% of Bitcoin's circulating market capitalization, down from more than 7% during the May peak.

Solana ETFs Record Their Worst-Performing Month Solana investment products also experienced notable weakness. June is on track to become the worst month on record for US spot Solana ETFs, with the category posting its first monthly net outflows. Net redemptions currently total $5.80 million for the month. On Thursday alone, Solana ETFs lost $3.94 million, with all of the outflows coming from Bitwise's $BSOL fund.

Ethereum products also joined the broader selling trend. Spot Ether ETFs recorded combined net outflows of $81.87 million, with BlackRock's $ETHA accounting for $62.99 million of the withdrawals. XRP ETFs remained flat during Thursday's session, recording neither net inflows nor net outflows.

While other Hyperliquid-related investment products experienced withdrawals, Grayscale's $HYPG fund stood out as the sole major crypto ETF to record net inflows, drawing in $112.73 million. This positive momentum was primarily the result of Hyper Holdings providing the fund with seed capital in the form of 2 million $HYPE tokens.

Bitcoin falls below $60,000 The ETF selling coincided with another sharp decline in cryptocurrency prices. Yesterday, Bitcoin briefly fell to $58,050, its lowest level since October 2024, before recovering to around $60,000. The recent market weakness has been linked to concerns surrounding Strategy and its $STRC preferred shares, which declined further to a new all-time low of $72 earlier today.

Solana also came under heavy pressure during the broader market sell-off, briefly dropping to $64 before leading the recovery among majors with an over 10 % rise in the last 24 hours.

Will The Sentiment Remained Subdued? Market observers continue to view ETF flows as an important measure of institutional demand. Citi has previously described Bitcoin ETF flows as one of the best indicators of investor adoption and expects sentiment to remain subdued while ETF flows stay negative.

In a recent report, CoinShares noted that Bitcoin's recovery from approximately $58,000 indicates continued buying interest during market declines, although resistance around $60,000 remains significant. The firm also observed that whale selling, which contributed heavily to the October market decline, has slowed considerably. However, the firm cautioned that whales historically do not return as consistent buyers until the next Bitcoin halving cycle, which is expected in 2028.

Looking ahead, CoinShares expects market conditions to remain challenging as inflation concerns, elevated oil prices, and a hawkish Federal Reserve continue to weigh on risk assets. The firm also believes delays in passing the CLARITY Act could extend uncertainty about the US regulatory environment, with the legislation now more likely to advance toward the August congressional recess than in early July.

For now, persistent ETF outflows across nearly every major cryptocurrency suggest institutional investors remain cautious as falling prices, macroeconomic uncertainty, and concerns surrounding Strategy continue to pressure digital asset markets.

Ethereum hrozí mezera ve financování vývoje
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Former Ethereum Foundation member Trent Van Epps warned on Thursday that Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) faces a critical funding gap within 3 to 9 months.

Why The Foundation Is Pulling Back On PurposeVan Epps, who spent five years at the Ethereum Foundation before recently stepping away, explained in an interview with Coindesk that the organization is deliberately pushing legitimacy and funding power out into the broader ecosystem rather than holding onto it.

The Foundation’s treasury, built from the network’s earliest days, has funded critical shared resources like client development and the move from proof of work to proof of stake, but that treasury is shrinking by design.

Core development funding needs sit at roughly $30 million per year, a small figure against Ethereum’s $200 billion market cap and the trillions in stablecoin settlement the network handles.

The problem isn’t a lack of need. It’s that as the Foundation steps back, no clear institution has stepped up to fill the gap, even as the Foundation recently cut its workforce by 20% and saw executives depart.

Protocol Guild Raised $40 Million In Four Years, But It Isn’t EnoughVan Epps built Protocol Guild, a collective funding mechanism for Ethereum’s core developers, distributing nearly $40 million over four years.

“We’ve had some good success,” he said, “but ultimately it’s not sufficient.”

He pointed to the free-rider problem as the core obstacle to fixing it.

“If somebody donates, but their competitor doesn’t, all of a sudden they have a distinct advantage over somebody who’s parted with some of their resources to fund the shared resource,” he said, calling coordination among large stakeholders genuinely hard even when most understand what’s at stake.

Beyond the funding question, Van Epps argued ETH as an asset needs fresh, confident storytelling that connects the token directly to the EVM’s dominance, the engine underpinning roughly 90% of total value locked across crypto including layer-2 networks.

ETH’s Chart Shows Oversold Conditions After A Sharp Trendline BreakETH broke a rising trendline that had held since February, triggering a fast move down through $1,900, then $1,800, into the $1,557 level.

The death cross from November 2025 remains intact across all major moving averages.

RSI sits at 28.98, an oversold reading that often precedes bounce attempts even within a larger downtrend.

The 20-day EMA at $1,707.57 and 50-day EMA at $1,864.11 sit overhead as the first levels traders will watch for any recovery to either fail or gain real traction.

Sharplink po osmi měsících poprvé koupil 5 000 ETH
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Sharplink bought 5,000 ETH worth $7.85 million on Thursday, its first ether acquisition in eight months, according to onchain data cited by analysis provider EmberCN.

EmberCN pointed to Arkham data showing that the Ethereum treasury firm received 5,000 ETH from FalconX. Its last ether purchase was in October 2025, when it obtained 19,270 ETH ($78.3 million).

As of June 21, Sharplink held 876,285 ETH, worth roughly $1.3 billion, according to its website. EmberCN estimated that the company's average acquisition cost stood at $3,609 per ETH, which implies an unrealized loss of about $1.79 billion.

The company has not publicly disclosed the reported ETH purchase. The Block has reached out to Sharplink for confirmation.

Sharplink remains the world's second-largest public ETH treasury company, behind Tom Lee's Bitmine Immersion, which held 5.67 million ETH ($8.7 billion) as of June 14.

Sharplink rebranded from SharpLink Gaming in February as it expanded from traditional ether staking into other onchain yield strategies. The company reported $12.1 million in total revenue in the first quarter of this year, a significant leap from just $742,000 in the same quarter last year.

The treasury firm recently supported the launch of Ethlabs, a nonprofit founded by a group of former Ethereum Foundation researchers to help prepare the network for its "next phase" of institutional adoption. Ethlabs is also backed by Ethereum co-founder and Sharplink Chairman Joe Lubin, as well as Bitmine Immersion.

Ethereum fell 5% over the past 24 hours to trade at $1,534 as of 10:40 p.m. Thursday, according to The Block's price page. The crypto market saw a broader decline, with bitcoin dropping 3.3% to $58,787. Tether's USDT, meanwhile, surpassed Ethereum's $185.4 billion market cap with $186.1 billion.

Sharplink's Nasdaq-listed shares closed down 3.49% at $4.56 on Thursday. The stock has fallen 26.8% over the past month and 50.4% over the past six months.

XRP Ledger poprvé překonal Ethereum v RLUSD
ETH Ethereum XRP Ripple
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
The XRP Ledger ($XRPL) has flipped Ethereum as the primary host for $RLUSD supply for the first time since the stablecoin launched. On-chain data cited by @BSCNews shows $801M in $RLUSD sitting on the XRP Ledger, compared to $795M on Ethereum, marking a narrow but historically significant shift in how Ripple's flagship regulated stablecoin is distributed across networks.

A Long Road to the Top The turnaround has been dramatic. By October 2025, approximately 88% of all RLUSD supply sat on Ethereum, with just $91 million on the XRP Ledger. The gap closed steadily from there. Q1 2026 was the first quarter in which RLUSD grew by more on the XRPL (plus $105.4 million) than on Ethereum (plus $15.2 million), signalling that the momentum had genuinely shifted. By June 2026, XRPL stablecoin supply reached $762M, largely driven by RLUSD, before the latest on-chain figures pushed it past the Ethereum figure for the first time.

The initial Ethereum dominance was driven largely by that network's deeper DeFi ecosystem. Ripple added RLUSD to Aave in 2025, helping boost adoption among Ethereum users, while platforms such as Curve and Morpho also supported RLUSD, giving the stablecoin more visibility and utility. Those integrations kept a large portion of supply anchored on Ethereum for most of the stablecoin's early life.

What Is Driving XRPL's Gain RLUSD's strategic advantage on the XRPL is its integration across Ripple's financial products, which provide immediate access for regulated institutional enterprise use in payments, treasury management, prime brokerage, and custody. This allows RLUSD supply to grow from real institutional demand rather than just exchange liquidity. The majority of RLUSD holders are also on the XRPL, with 46,209 on the network compared to 7,821 on Ethereum at Q1 2026 close.

The broader XRPL ecosystem has also been expanding rapidly. The XRPL closed Q1 2026 with an all-time high real-world asset (RWA) market cap of $2.25 billion, up 124% quarter-over-quarter, making it the seventh largest network by RWA market cap. A key institutional proof point came in May 2026 with a tokenized US Treasury redemption pilot involving Ondo Finance, JPMorgan Kinexys, Mastercard, and Ripple, completing a cross-border transaction in 4.2 seconds.

RLUSD is natively issued on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum blockchains and is fully backed by a segregated reserve of cash and cash equivalents, redeemable 1:1 for US dollars. The stablecoin is regulated under a New York Department of Financial Services trust charter, a compliance posture that has helped attract institutional counterparties to both chains. Whether XRPL can hold and extend this lead over Ethereum's entrenched DeFi liquidity base remains to be seen, but the milestone itself marks a meaningful shift in how Ripple's native infrastructure is being used.

BlackRock poslal na Coinbase další kryptoměny za 218 milionů USD

CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
BlackRock remains affected by the consistent outflows witnessed across both the Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF markets, and has continued to offload large amounts of its holdings.

In a familiar move showcased by blockchain monitoring platform Lookonchain, BlackRock has deposited another 3,410 BTC and 5,132 ETH to Coinbase Prime in multiple transfers spotted on Thursday, June 25.

BlackRock dumps crypto non-stopThe data further revealed that the Bitcoin and Ethereum transfers were worth $209.64 million and $8.43 million, respectively, per the assets' prices at the time of the transactions.

HOT Stories

The total deposits happened in a series of about seven separate transfers, with nearly all of them carrying 300 BTC each, while only one separate transfer moved Ethereum to the Coinbase wallet.

You Might Also Like

While this transfer happened at a time when the broader crypto market is facing downside pressure, market watchers fear that the move from BlackRock could further fuel the ongoing volatility.

Did BlackRock actually sell?Although BlackRock did not clarify the reason it has continued to offload large stashes of its Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings on Coinbase, the transfers have triggered speculation across the market, with traders interpreting them as potential attempts to sell.

It is important to note that deposits to Coinbase Prime or other crypto exchanges do not necessarily confirm an immediate sale. However, investors have become suspicious of BlackRock's frequent deposits, as the timing of the transfers has intensified concerns and signals that BlackRock might actually be selling.

This is more apparent, as the company has been found to sell only when its ETF products record withdrawals during their daily trading sessions.

Ondo Finance spouští 24/7 minting tokenizovaných akcií
BNB BNB ETH Ethereum ONDO Ondo
CoinGecko News 86
Original source text
Round-the-Clock Access to Tokenized U.S. Equities@OndoFinance has activated what it describes as the industry's first 24/7 minting and redemption cycle for tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, a move that formally severs the dependency of real-world asset (RWA) products on traditional market hours.

Investors can now execute primary issuance and liquidations for $SPYon, $QQQon, $NVDAon, and $TSLAon during overnight sessions, weekends, and public holidays, periods when NYSE and Nasdaq are closed. The update eliminates the reliance on legacy banking schedules, allowing tokenized shares to be created or redeemed in real time regardless of exchange downtime.

Each tokenized asset is an ERC-20 token backed 1:1 by the underlying security, held by U.S. broker-dealers along with cash in transit. The tokens are total-return trackers that mirror the economic performance of their underlying assets, including price movements, dividends, and corporate actions.

Multi-Chain Rollout and Growing Platform ScaleThe 24/7 architecture is currently live on @Ethereum and @BNBChain, with a @Solana deployment scheduled for the near term. Ondo had already expanded to Solana earlier this year: Ondo Global Markets, the world's largest tokenized stock and ETF platform by total value locked, became available on Solana with more than 200 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, including NVDA, AAPL, META, and ETFs such as SPY and QQQ.

Ondo Global Markets has surpassed $1 billion in tokenized stock TVL less than eight months after launch, becoming the first tokenized stocks platform to cross that mark. The platform now offers more than 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs across Solana, Ethereum, and BNB Chain, with access through wallets, exchanges, custodians, and protocols including Binance, Bitget, MetaMask, and Blockchain.com.

Ondo said Global Markets holds more than 70% market share among tokenized equity issuers and has secured regulatory approval to offer tokenized stocks and ETFs across 30 EU and EEA countries.

The broader significance of the 24/7 minting update is structural. By enabling round-the-clock mint and redeem operations, Ondo aims to make equities and ETFs composable components within the DeFi ecosystem, substantially expanding the asset universe and extending trading hours for on-chain finance. This also removes the T+1 settlement delay that traditional stock trading requires and enables transferring equity exposure between wallets as easily as sending stablecoins.

Spark přesunul 150 milionů USD do Uniswap v4 poolů
ETH Ethereum UNI Uniswap
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Spark has deployed approximately $150 million in stablecoin liquidity across two Uniswap v4 pools on Ethereum as part of a collaboration aimed at creating shared liquidity and exchange infrastructure for stablecoin issuers.

A Spark spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the initial deployment is live in two pools pairing USDS with PayPal USD (PYUSD) and USDT, with USDS serving as the foundation. Spark described the deployment as one of the largest automated market maker (AMM) liquidity migrations in DeFi.

“These pools represent the initial deployment of approximately $150 million of liquidity and establish the first phase of the Stablecoin FX Layer,” the spokesperson said. “This initial deployment focuses on bootstrapping shared liquidity on Uniswap v4.”

Earlier this month, Standard Chartered identified Uniswap as a potential beneficiary of tokenized assets moving into DeFi. It forecast that total assets held in DeFi could reach $2.7 trillion by 2030, with Uniswap potentially emerging as a liquidity venue for the growing market.

The deployment announced Thursday lays the groundwork for a planned programmable liquidity system that could reduce the need for banks, financial technology firms and stablecoin issuers to build separate liquidity networks while testing whether Uniswap can make onchain capital more efficient without weakening market depth.

Spark plans programmable liquidity expansionSpark said it plans to introduce its Shared Liquidity Layer and DualPool hook in subsequent phases using Uniswap v4's programmable architecture to coordinate how liquidity is distributed across stablecoin markets.

A liquidity hook enables protocols to seamlessly integrate with platforms for capital access and developing yield and trading strategies.

Spark said a hook is intended to allow capital not immediately needed for trades to be deployed into governance-approved products, liquidity venues and yield-generating strategies.

The implementation of the DualPool hook will go through a separate security review, testing and production-readiness process before deployment. The first phase uses standard Uniswap v4 pools rather than the planned programmable framework.

Spark said the planned framework is intended to give future stablecoin issuers access to shared liquidity rather than requiring them to individually bootstrap pools, coordinate market makers and manage inventory across different venues.

The spokesperson told Cointelegraph that Spark is working with additional partners across the stablecoin ecosystem but is not yet ready to disclose those integrations.

Uniswap seen as winner as tokenized assets move onchainIn a June 15 note to clients, StanChart's bank's head of digital assets research, Geoff Kendrick, said that tokenized treasures, equities, bonds and other assets could bring more trading activity and liquidity to decentralized exchanges as their DeFi use expands.

DeFi total value locked as of June 25. Source: DefiLlama
