Thai Police Arrest Chinese Suspect in $6.1 Million Bitcoin Fraud Case
BTC Bitcoin SAI Sai
CoinGecko News
Original source text
In brief Thai police arrested Chinese national Tianwei at Don Mueang Airport on June 12 for allegedly stealing $6.15 million in Bitcoin. The arrest followed an April complaint and a May 16 warrant after Tianwei vanished from a business deal in Chiang Rai. It’s the latest in a series of Asian crypto fraud busts, including major cases in Vietnam and India. Thai immigration police arrested a Chinese fugitive at Don Mueang Airport Thursday morning as he attempted to flee to Singapore, ending a manhunt connected to millions in stolen Bitcoin.

The man, Tianwei, was arrested at 6 a.m. local time (7 p.m. ET) on Thursday at the international departure terminal as he attempted to board Lion Air flight SL100, according to a report by local news outlet Khaosod English.

The airport intercept ended a month-long manhunt that began when two Chinese victims reported losing $6.15 million (200 million baht) in Bitcoin to the suspect after a business meeting in Mae Sai district.

Chiang Rai Provincial Court issued the arrest warrant on May 16. Intelligence reports indicated Tianwei would attempt to flee the country, prompting authorities to alert Don Mueang immigration officers.

The suspect reportedly communicated in English during his arrest. Sergeant Suwaphan Utsaha, commander of the Don Mueang Immigration checkpoint, served as an interpreter to inform him of his rights and the charges against him.

Tianwei confirmed his identity and told officers he had never been arrested in this case before.

Thailand's notoriously tough stance on foreign fraud suspects means Tianwei faces a grim future, according to Archer Wolfe, founder of the crypto consultancy firm MohrWolfe and a former resident of Thailand.

"It's no surprise that Thai immigration continues cracking down on fraud amongst foreigners—they're famous for their hardcore measures," Wolfe told Decrypt. "However, once they're suspicious of you, and you get caught, they will dissect your entire life, starting with your smartphone and every conversation you have in it."

Wolfe predicted harsh consequences, saying that the suspect "is going to be extradited back to China" and "the Thai government is then going to keep that Bitcoin unless an exorbitant fee is paid and simply close the book."

Crypto crackdown in AsiaThe arrest comes amid a regional crackdown on crypto fraud that has netted hundreds of millions in seized assets across Asia.

India's Central Bureau of Investigation arrested Delhi resident Rahul Arora on Tuesday and seized over $327,000 in crypto from a cybercrime operation targeting U.S. and Canadian victims through caller ID spoofing and social engineering.

Last month, Vietnamese authorities dismantled the Matrix Chain pyramid scheme after a 200-day investigation, arresting five suspects accused of defrauding 185,000 victims out of nearly $400 million.

In February, Thai and Chinese police teamed up to arrest two Chinese nationals and seize $2.5 million worth of Tether's USDT stablecoin from a large-scale scam operation.

Coinbase Lists New Altcoin on Ethereum Network
BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum SD Stader
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Bitcoin price has turned downward again, but exchanges seem optimistic and continue listings. The largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase, continues the accelerated listings it started at the end of 2021. A recent announcement was made for a new altcoin. So, which cryptocurrency will be listed?

Last Minute Altcoin ListingCoinbase announced that it will support the Stader (SD) Token, an ERC20 token on the Ethereum network. The listing will be simultaneous on Coinbase and Coinbase Global. Deposits are already active for the listing expected on July 30. If the necessary liquidity conditions are met, the pair will go live at 1:00 PM (ET). For now, only the USD pair will be available.

The exchange is not adding an experimental label to this altcoin, which is positive for SD Token. Following the news, the SD Token price rose above $0.7. The token is already available on many cryptocurrency exchanges, and due to its recent popularity with upper wicks, investors are advised to be cautious about quick returns. The price increased by 40% just today.

Bear Market Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP Traders Are Pivoting To Pokémon Cards
BTC Bitcoin DIA DIA ETH Ethereum XRP Ripple
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) closed the first quarter of 2026 down 23%, driving exhausted traders to pivot capital into a surprising alternative asset class: physical Pokémon cards.

Prominent crypto analyst Trader Mayne and pseudonymous collectibles expert CBS discussed on Wednesday how the Trading Card Game (TCG) market is absorbing liquidity as digital assets continue to trade sideways.

The “Bitcoin” Of CollectiblesVintage Pokémon cards are exhibiting price resilience, with CBS highlighting the 1999 Base Set First Edition Charizard as the “Bitcoin of the TCG market.”

TCGs are attracting crypto capital thanks to their scarcity, liquidity, and decoupling from wider digital assets.

Unlike altcoins with constant token unlocks and inflationary supply, vintage cards have fixed, verifiable caps.

High-end graded cards operate with near-instant liquidity at trade shows and online marketplaces, allowing traders to flip $50,000 physical assets in minutes.

And while Bitcoin and equities dumped over the last four months, vintage trading cards largely held their value or appreciated.

CBS views the current environment as a “land grab,” noting that wealthy millennials in their 30s are aggressively replacing traditional antiques with nostalgic physical investments.

Markets Held Hostage By HeadlinesBack on the traditional charts, Mayne emphasized that technical analysis is currently taking a backseat to geopolitical “tape bombs.”

Mayne noted this instant risk-on bid reveals the market’s total desperation for a de-escalation catalyst.

Until a formal ceasefire occurs, Mayne expects violent volatility and warns against forcing leverage in the middle of a headline-driven range.

Prediction markets currently price the odds of U.S. “boots on the ground” in Iran by the end of April at greater than 50%.

Mayne also took aim at Strategy Inc (NASDAQ:MSTR) and its Chairman Michael Saylor over the aggressive marketing of the company’s new 11.5% yield product, STRCH.

Saylor recently deployed heavily criticized, AI-generated promotional videos to advertise the fixed-income product to retail investors.

Mayne compared the marketing tactics to the peak-euphoria days of the collapsed Terra/Luna Anchor Protocol, labeling the campaign “unbelievably cringe” and warning that such aggressive retail targeting damages the broader credibility of the Bitcoin ecosystem during an already fragile market structure.

Is Bitcoin Depot In Trouble? Company Raises Doubts About Staying In Business
BTC Bitcoin DIA DIA
CoinGecko News
Original source text
The Nasdaq is down 1.30% while the S&P 500 has shed 0.94%.

Bitcoin Depot Warns Of Going Concern RiskRecently, Bitcoin Depot said it may not be able to continue as a going concern after reporting a sharp revenue decline, rising litigation costs and ongoing regulatory pressure tied to its Bitcoin ATM business. The company disclosed the risks in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company filed a Form 12b-25 on May 12, stating it could not complete its quarterly Form 10-Q for the period ended March 31, 2026, within the required deadline. Bitcoin Depot said it needed additional time to review financial statements related to a previously disclosed material weakness involving its cash-in-transit reconciliation process.

The company said state and municipal regulations restricting Bitcoin ATMs, transaction limits and fee caps, along with enhanced Know-Your-Customer compliance measures, significantly hurt transaction volume and revenue. Bitcoin Depot also disclosed more than $20 million in legal judgments accrued during the fourth quarter of 2025 and said ongoing litigation continues to strain resources.

Management concluded that "substantial doubt exists about the Company's ability to continue as a going concern."

Preliminary Q1 Results Show Sharp DeclineBitcoin Depot's preliminary first-quarter revenue fell $80.7 million, or 49.2% year over year, primarily due to lower transaction volume driven by regulatory changes and stricter compliance controls.

Gross profit dropped 85.5% to $4.5 million from $31.2 million a year earlier. The company reported a net loss of $9.5 million, compared with net income of $12.2 million in the prior-year quarter.

Operating expenses rose 32.3% year over year, mainly due to higher litigation costs. Cash and cash equivalents declined to $44 million as of March 31, down from $65.6 million at the end of 2025.

Bitcoin Depot said it is evaluating options including debt refinancing, asset sales, restructuring measures and other strategic transactions to address its financial challenges.

Technical AnalysisEven after Friday's jump, BTM is still in a longer-term downtrend: it's trading 45.8% below its 20-day SMA ($5.77) and 77.1% below its 200-day SMA ($13.69). That gap tells you the stock is trying to stabilize from a deeply damaged trend, but it hasn't reclaimed the moving-average "zones" that usually define healthier uptrends.

The bigger-picture trend signal remains heavy because the 50-day SMA is below the 200-day SMA (a death cross that occurred in November 2025). That said, the 20-day SMA is above the 50-day SMA, which can hint at a near-term basing attempt if price can start closing back above the shorter averages.

For momentum, MACD is the cleaner read right now: it's below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to fading upside pressure versus the prior upswing. In plain terms, when MACD is below its signal line, momentum is cooling unless buyers can push it back above that baseline.

From a structure standpoint, the stock is also coming off a recent swing low in March after a swing high in April, which frames the current move as a bounce inside a broader downtrend. With the 52-week range stretching from $48.16 to $1.91, BTM is still much closer to the low end of its yearly range than the high—another reminder that rallies may face overhead supply.

Key Resistance: $4.37 — aligns with the 50-day SMA, a common "first real test" area in rebound attempts Key Support: $1.91 — the 52-week low zone, where buyers previously defended the tape Company BackgroundBitcoin Depot operates one of the largest cryptocurrency ATM networks in North America, allowing users to buy and sell digital assets through physical kiosks and retail locations. The company went public through a SPAC merger and has since focused on scaling transaction volume while navigating regulatory and market pressures tied to the crypto sector.

Price ActionBTM Stock Price Activity: Bitcoin Depot shares were up 13.31% at $2.68 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

Here’s what happened in crypto today – ETF flows, BitGo IPO, Railgun & more
BTC Bitcoin RAIL Railgun
CoinGecko News
Original source text
The crypto market is ending the week strong despite a four-day streak of U.S. spot ETF outflows and global tensions. Here’s a recap of what transpired in the space in the past 48 hours.

BTC hit with $1.68B ETF outflows  Bitcoin [BTC] price held the $90k despite record weekly ETF outflows in 2026. The products saw four consecutive days of outflows, totalling $1.68 billion.

Source: Soso Value This week’s risk-off mode was triggered by Japan’s bond crisis, as investors feared the rout could spill over into U.S. markets. Additionally, the global tensions between the E.U. and the U.S. over Greenland further spooked the markets.

As of writing, these two risk factors were significantly neutralized. The E.U.-U.S. tensions, for example, had eased over a potential Greenland deal, prompting a relief rally in markets.

At press time, the Asian markets surged, with Shanghai’s SSE Composite (SSE) and Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 posting a 33 and 29 basis points surge, respectively.

However, India’s Nifty 50 retreated nearly 1%. The improved sentiment followed Japan’s rate pause after its policy rate decision on the 22nd of January.

Collectively, the shift in sentiment helped Bitcoin hover near $90k despite record ETF outflows earlier in the week.

BitGo joins the crypto IPO mania BitGo, a crypto custody and infrastructure firm, became the latest industry player to go public. The crypto IPO mania underscored the sector’s growth into the mainstream, but BitGo’s first day performance was volatile.

The stock (NYSE: BITGO) opened at $22, slightly above its $18 per share in the initial public offering (IPO).

It hit a high of $24.5 in intraday trading, about a 36% jump. But it later erased the gains and closed the intraday session at $18.49, translating to a 2.7% rally.

Source: Yahoo Finance Several crypto infrastructure firms, including custody provider Anchorage Digital, Kraken, and crypto payments giant Bitpanda, are planning IPOs.

This follows a successful Circle IPO last year. That said, BitGo raised $212 million from the IPO, putting its value above $2 billion.

Railgun to scale DeFi privacy The key final update was from the privacy sector. Ethereum-based Railgun unveiled Railgun_connect, a ‘plug and play’ DeFi integration that allows users to interact with on-chain platforms for staking, swaps, lending, and others, with their private, shielded wallets.

The project team said it successfully tested the feature on CowSwap on Polygon POS and plans to roll it out across the DeFi ecosystem. The team billed the new feature as,

“A first-of-its-kind tool for privacy and is a huge leap in making private addresses as functional as public ones.”

For the unfamiliar, the legacy privacy platforms like Zcash [ZEC] only allow shielded transfers (hiding the balance) and keep it, with no ability to deploy capital across DeFi at scale privately. Railgun’s new feature may change and disrupt the current privacy landscape.

The markets will now shift to next week’s U.S Fed rate decision, scheduled for the 28th of January. With market pricing a rate pause despite the Trump-Powell conflict, it remains to be seen whether it will be hawkish or dovish.

The Bitcoin price is once again at the center of attention as it continues its upward climb in what appears to be the final phase of the current bull cycle. Riding on the back of macroeconomic optimism and institutional interest, Bitcoin is showing renewed strength, with technical analysis forecasting a final pump to a new ATH above $120,000. Once the flagship cryptocurrency completes this move, its price is forecasted to crash down to $60,000, signaling the onset of the bear market.

Bitcoin Price To Surpass $120,000 In 2025 Xanrox, a crypto analyst, has shared a new Bitcoin price prediction on TradingView, forecasting a bullish run to a new all-time high and a subsequent crash to major lows. Expanding on his optimistic projection, the crypto analyst has confirmed that Bitcoin is in the final stages of this bullish cycle, meaning that the cryptocurrency is gearing up for its most explosive price surge yet.

The analyst shared an Elliott Wave technical chart, indicating that Bitcoin is currently in Wave 3 of a five-wave pattern forming an ending diagonal. This structure typically marks the final stage of a bullish cycle, just before a major correction.

Xanrox predicts that Bitcoin will eventually enter two final wave stages (Wave 4 and 5) before reaching a cycle peak. According to his analysis, the ideal range for this bull run lies between $120,000 and $125,000. More precisely, he highlights a Fibonacci Extension target of 1.618 at $122,069 as the potential top of this bull cycle.

Source: Xanrox on Tradingview The TradingView analyst also notes that this Fibonacci target is the best price to sell and prepare for the bear market that’s projected to follow. Notably, this price level aligns with a long-term trend line that stretches from Bitcoin’s 2017 peak to the 2021 top and the next forecasted 2025 ATH.

Strengthening the analyst’s conviction of a potential rally to $122,069, Bitcoin’s historical price behavior reveals a consistent relationship with the 50-week Simple Moving Average (SMA). The analysis highlights that the cryptocurrency has repeatedly bounced off or corrected to this moving average during key turning points in past cycles. This pattern adds further credibility to the bullish outlook.

Next Up: 50% Price Crash To $60,000 Despite Xanrox’s optimistic price projection for 2025, the analyst warns of an impending Bitcoin market crash in 2026. Once the cryptocurrency completes its final bullish wave and tops out, the analyst anticipates a steep correction, potentially dragging the price down to $60,000. This projected 50% drop mirrors past cycle declines, particularly the sharp correction seen in the 2018 and 2022 bear markets.

The analyst’s chart identifies this looming price crash as part of the natural end to Bitcoin’s 4-year cycle, emphasizing that buying at the projected peak of $122,069 could expose investors to significant downside risk. Instead, Xanrox recommends preparing for this bearish transition by exiting the market within the previously outlined sell zone and waiting for a re-entry opportunity during the expected 2026 dip.

Analyst Explains How XRP Can Do 50X Surge to $123 From Here
BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum FRA Findora XRP Ripple
CoinGecko News
Original source text
An analyst has reignited bullish expectations for XRP, pointing to a historical fractal pattern that could catapult the asset to more than 50 times its current price.

The analysis suggests XRP could reach as high as $123, a level not seen in any previous cycle.

Hints from XRP Historical Fractal In his commentary on XRP’s performance, analyst Javon Marks shared a chart comparing XRP’s recent breakout to a similar technical pattern from 2017. At that time, XRP broke out of a pennant formation that spanned about two years.

XRP rallied from consolidation lows, where it traded with two leading zeros, to above the 2.618 Fibonacci extension, translating to a peak above $2.10.

During this climb, XRP formed local tops at the $0.0364 price mark (the 1.00 Fibonacci level), consolidated briefly, and broke out to the 1.618 Fibonacci level, equivalent to $0.1726. It then consolidated for several weeks before completing the bull run. Ultimately, XRP surpassed the 2.618 Fibonacci level and reached highs above $3.

XRP chart by Javon Marks Meanwhile, XRP entered a more prolonged consolidation phase that lasted over seven years. Marks’ chart confirmed that XRP has now completed the breakout from the multi-year pennant pattern, which formed in 2018.

This breakout has already pushed XRP into the $2+ range, slightly above the 1.00 Fibonacci level. Interestingly, the pattern XRP is forming now mirrors the early stages of the 2017 price explosion.

In particular, XRP has slipped into a ranging phase following the initial momentum from its breakout, cooling off the frenzy. Marks believes the second phase of a full-scale bull run is about to take shape.

According to his chart, the next target before another period of consolidation is the 1.618 Fibonacci extension, equivalent to a price of $9.63.

Why $123 Is on the Radar By applying the same Fibonacci logic to the current structure, Marks forecasts that XRP could again climb to the 2.618 Fibonacci extension, which this time sits around $123, after surpassing the 1.618 level. According to his estimation, this would represent a more than 50X increase from current price levels.

If such a move were to materialize, it would not only mark XRP’s highest valuation in history but would also place it among the top contenders in market capitalization, rivaling Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Specifically, at a $123 price, XRP’s market cap based on the current circulating supply of 58.55 billion tokens would be approximately $7.2 trillion. This is larger than the current combined market caps of Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as the overall crypto market.

Caution Amid the Hype While the technical setup is compelling, other analysts have cautioned that history doesn’t always repeat itself. In particular, some members of the XRP community believe the 2017 fractal is no longer relevant for future projections.

Critics of the $123 price target argue that such an audacious valuation, and the implied $7 trillion market cap, represent an overestimation of XRP’s potential in the current cycle. As a result, they advise holders to take profits strategically rather than waiting for these extreme price levels to materialize.

Despite failing to break out of its downtrend, ONDO could be preparing for a surge above the $2 barrier. Some analysts suggest it could repeat its 2024 playbook if it continues to hold its current levels.

ONDO Breakout Eyes $2 ONDO, the native token of the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) platform Ondo Finance, is attempting to reclaim a key area amid the market pullback. Notably, the cryptocurrency has struggled to hold the $1 mark since losing the area as support over three months ago.

In December, the RWA token hit its all-time high (ATH) of $2.14 after US President Donald Trump’s crypto venture, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), purchased 134,216 ONDO tokens for 250,000 USDC.

This propelled ONDO’s price above the $2 barrier for the first time, but the late 2024 and Q1 2025 corrections halted its bullish momentum, sending its price to the $0.60-$0.70 range.

Following the late April market recovery, ONDO’s price reclaimed the $0.85 area and broke out of its multi-month downtrend. The cryptocurrency then hovered between the $0.85-$1.10 levels throughout May, hitting a three-month high of $1.13 nearly a month ago.

Since then, the token has been in a one-month downtrend, dipping below its local range after the recent market pullback. However, the cryptocurrency has been attempting to reclaim this range for the past week, hitting a one-week high of $0.92 on Wednesday.

Crypto analyst World of Charts highlighted the token’s performance, affirming, “after a long correction, Finally Looking Good For Midterm.”

ONDO eyes 130% breakout. Source: World of Charts on X As ONDO attempts to reclaim the $0.90 area, the analyst anticipates that the cryptocurrency will soon break out of its current range and the downtrend line, forecasting a 130% rally toward the $2 barrier.

2024 ATH Repeat Coming? On Thursday, analyst Sjuul from AltCryptoGems noted ONDO’s performance over the past year, asserting, “Not sure there are many other charts looking as good on high time frames like ONDO.”

He explained that “The King of RWA” is “basically holding a bullish structure since its launch,” making a series of higher lows for over a year while maintaining its ascending support trendline.

Meanwhile, analyst Alex Clay suggested that ONDO could see a parabolic run based on its performance in 2024.

The market watcher noted that the token is currently accumulating at the bottom of a 15-month ascending channel, which previously served as a crucial bounce point for its rally toward its ATH.

As Clay explained, after reaching the channel’s upper boundary last year, ONDO saw a multi-month downtrend toward the lower boundary, before printing a higher low. This was followed by a massive rally toward the channel’s top.

This year, ONDO is “following the Bullish Fractal from the previous year” after falling to the channel’s lower boundary, breaking out of the downtrend line, and registering a higher low.

“These 2 reasons are more than enough to pump straight up to the channel’s top,” the analyst concluded. If history repeats, the cryptocurrency could surge toward the $2.8-$3 area.

At the time of writing, ONDO trades at $0.84, a 5.2% decline in the daily timeframe.

Crypto analyst X Force has drawn the crypto community’s attention to a key fractal from 2023, which paints a bullish picture for the Bitcoin price. However, the analyst suggested that a drop to $90,000 could still be on the cards for BTC, although that won’t invalidate the macro setup.

Key Fractal Shows Bitcoin Price Is Still Bullish In an X post, X Force highlighted a key fractal from the early phase of the 2023 bull market and noted why it supports the view that the current trend remains bullish. He remarked that the price structure that was observed back then could offer insights relevant to the current analysis, as history often rhymes even though it might not repeat itself exactly.

X Force then noted that in 2023, a larger degree wave 1 terminated, followed by a shallow wave 2 that retraced only to the 23.6% to 38.2% Fibonacci levels. The analyst then declared that this interpretation wasn’t just hindsight but it was the only valid count even in real-time. He also raised the possibility of the Bitcoin price creating another low.

Source: XForce on X X Force explained that the context of the micro timeframes is losing weight as every bounce and dump is extremely sensitive to the overall creation of the wave structure. Meanwhile, the analyst indicated that the Bitcoin price could still drop to as low as $90,000 but noted that it is important that BTC remains above this critical support level.

In an X post, the crypto analyst stated that as long as the Bitcoin price stays above the $90,000 level, the implications of the shorter-term price action have zero impact on the overall macro trend. X Force added that pullbacks and choppiness are not only healthy but vital to any bull market.

A BTC Price Crash Imminent? Veteran trader Peter Brandt has raised the possibility of a Bitcoin price crash happening soon. In an X post, he questioned if November 2021 was happening all over again for the flagship crypto. His accompanying chart showed how that period formed the cycle peak for BTC, following a double top formation.

The Bitcoin price then crashed from its all-time high (ATH) of around $69,000 and consolidated for over two years before witnessing another breakout in 2024. The chart indicated that BTC may have formed a double top again following the recent rally to a new all-time high of $111,900. If so, this could mark the end of the cycle’s bull run, with a crash set to follow. However, the chart suggested that BTC could sustain this bull run if it holds above $104,612.

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is trading at around $106,700, up in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Amid the chaos that was sparked by Israel’s attack on Iran, Bitcoin has climbed again, shaking off the losses triggered by the conflict. Not only has the price seen an increase from its last week’s lows, but there has also been a notable change in the cryptocurrency’s daily trading volume. This points to continued interest despite global factors and could mean that the expectations of war are already getting priced in for the crypto market.

Bitcoin Sees Almost 100% Jump In Volume According to data from Coinglass, there has been a turn in the tide for the Bitcoin trading volume after starting out the new week in a slow trend. Sunday and Monday had seen the Bitcoin daily trading volume come out under $50 billion. However, as the Bitcoin price rose leading up to Tuesday, so did the trading volume.

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin daily trading volume had already crossed $88 billion for Tuesday, leading to an almost 100% increase in the trading volume during this time. This follows the trend of high volatility coming with increased volumes as the Bitcoin price swung wildly between $105,000 and $108,000.

Source: Coinglass The sharp jump in volume comes as the Bitcoin open interest remains high at near all-time highs while the rest of the market struggles. Coinglass data shows the current open interest at $71 billion, less than $10 billion away from the $80 billion all-time high recorded in May 2025.

In light of altcoins continuing to trend low while Bitcoin remains close to all-time highs, it suggests that most of the attention in the crypto market is now being focused on Bitcoin. As a result, the leading asset continues to dictate the direction of the market, with dominance remaining high above 64%.

How War Could Affect This Trend The positive developments surrounding Bitcoin are coming as there seems to be a cooldown in the conflict in the Middle East. But with so little time having passed, expectations are that the war may only be starting, with some calling it the start of ‘World War 3.’

The Kobeissi Letter has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to address these World War 3 predictions, revealing how the markets would react if there really was a possibility of this happening. The first thing was that a 50% chance of World War 3 would’ve seen the S&P crash not 2%, but more of a 30% crash. Gold would be $5,000/oz, and oil would go for $100/barrel.

Furthermore, a 90% chance of World War 3, as explained in the post, would likely cause the S&P to crash 50%, with the prices of gold and oil surging to $10,000/oz and $200/barrel, respectively. Given Bitcoin’s correlation with the stock market so far, there is no doubt that such a crash would have carried over, triggering disastrous losses for the crypto market.

Given these, The Kobeissi Letter explains that the markets are saying the chances of World War 3 are slim. At this time, they expect a resolution to the conflict. “Futures all around the board this morning saw de-escalation coming,” the post read.

Bitcoin has continued to hover above the $100,000 mark over the past few days, and its price action has stabilized around $105,000 in the wake of recent market tensions and despite inflows into Spot Bitcoin ETFs.

A new analysis shared by crypto market commentator Gert van Lagen suggests that this current phase is going to precede an explosive move similar to those seen in previous market cycles. Backing his prediction with historical data and Glassnode’s AVIV Ratio chart, the analyst noted that the current on-chain structure echoes moments before Bitcoin’s major rallies in past bull markets.

AVIV Ratio Flashes Familiar Pattern Before Market Top Bitcoin’s price volatility has slightly cooled since the initial surge to a new all-time high above $111,800 in May, and the latest candlestick structure suggests it may be preparing for another leg higher.

Taking to the social media platform X, Gert van Lagen revealed a Bitcoin price prediction that centers around the true market Deviation metric known as the AVIV Ratio. This orange-colored line on the chart tracks a specific deviation in Bitcoin’s market behavior and has always crossed a red line denoting +3 standard deviations at or just before cycle tops.

Source: Gert Van Lagen on X The current AVIV behavior can be compared to previous price points before market tops in previous cycles. For instance, in 2013, the AVIV Ratio flagged a major rally when Bitcoin was trading near $200, shortly before the price pushed past $1,200. In 2017, the metric behaved similarly when Bitcoin was trading at $3,700 and later peaked near $20,000. The current AVIV Ratio can also be compared to when Bitcoin was priced at $13,000 in the 2021 bull market run, before its surge to an all-time high of  $69,000.

According to the analyst, today’s AVIV ratio level is closely aligned with those previous mid-cycle breakouts. The current ratio has not yet crossed the red +3σ line, which the analyst refers to as the cycle top trigger. As such, its current reading suggests Bitcoin may be in the early phase of a major bull market expansion. If history repeats itself, a 3x move from today’s levels would be a standard price move in line with previous price action.

$300,000 Target Within Sight If AVIV Behavior Holds Crypto analyst van Lagen stops short of calling for an immediate top, but his analysis implies that Bitcoin could be preparing for a new parabolic surge to the upside. Using the AVIV model as a reference, a conservative 3x multiplier on the current Bitcoin price places a possible target around $300,000.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $104,997, having decreased by 1.4% in the past 24 hours. This decline has brought its price down from an intraday high of $106,795 back into its consolidation range around $105,000.

Bitcoin’s recent pullback has sparked fresh debate over whether the rally has run its course. According to market watcher Titan of Crypto, the story isn’t over yet.

Bitcoin slipped just 6% from its all‑time high of $112,000, but some analysts pointed to a cooling relative strength index (RSI) and warned of a top. Titan’s take flips that view on its head, arguing that we’re still deep in the meat of the bull cycle.

Fractal Cycles Keep Running Titan pointed to a clear pattern in Bitcoin’s last two cycles. Each cycle began with roughly 13 monthly bars—about 396 days—of steep decline. In 2014–15, Bitcoin fell from $1,240 to $161 over that span.

Prices then rallied for 35 bars (1,065 days) to hit $19,800 in December 2017. The same 13‑bar slide followed by 35 bars of gains played out again after 2018, ending at $69,000 in 2021.

— Titan of Crypto (@Washigorira) June 18, 2025

Momentum And RSI In Focus Some analysts flagged a weakening RSI as a sign that Bitcoin has peaked. That metric can’t be ignored—when momentum wanes, price often takes a breather. Titan’s chart lays down the time‑based pattern, but RSI, trading volume, and on‑chain data give a live read on demand.

Bull Run Still Has Room Based on reports, the current cycle’s bullish phase kicked off in January 2023 and sits in the 29th bar this month. Bitcoin has climbed 530% since the start of that run.

If history holds, we’ve got at least five more monthly bars of uptrend before the rally tops out around November. Earlier studies even point to a wedge breakout that could send price to about $137,000 before any serious pullback.

BTC is currently trading at $104,664. Chart: TradingView Big Names See Higher Peaks Samson Mow, the CEO of Jan3, foresees Bitcoin tearing past the $1 million mark in a fierce upswing, powered by government rollouts, sovereign bond issuances, and an urgent surge in ‘hyperbitcoinization’ before seeing any real correction.

Raoul Pal (Real Vision), the former Goldman Sachs executive, shares a familiar bullish view. He has laid out scenarios where Bitcoin hits $1 million by 2030, based on monetary stimulus and limited supply.

Strategy’s Michael Saylor has also said Bitcoin could skyrocket to between $500,000 and $1 million before seeing any real correction.

These big names in the crypto industry highlight growing institutional inflows and a looming supply squeeze after the next halving as fuel for an even higher peak.

Source: CoinCodex This rally isn’t just a rerun of what we saw in 2017 or 2021. Bitcoin today moves with ETFs, big‑ticket corporate buys, and more traders watching on‑chain signals than ever before.

Meanwhile, the latest outlook by CoinCodex sees Bitcoin climbing 5.73% to hit roughly $110,732 by July 19, 2025. Right now, technical signals point to a Neutral mood, while the Fear & Greed Index sits at 57—squarely in Greed territory.

PANews reported on May 3 that Alex Thorn, research director at Galaxy Digital, stated in an article published on the X platform that after in-depth discussions with several Bitcoin industry figures regarding the impact of quantum computing on Bitcoin, the industry has gradually reached two major consensuses.

First, the approximately 1.1 million BTC held by Satoshi Nakamoto (distributed across approximately 22,000 P2PK addresses) should not be used arbitrarily. Infringing on his property rights in order to deal with quantum risks would damage Bitcoin's core value proposition. Even if these BTC are transferred in extreme circumstances, the market has a strong absorption capacity and the risks can be mitigated through solutions such as "Hourglass".

Secondly, promoting research, testing, and signature compression of Bitcoin quantum-resistant (PQ) cryptography is a positive direction, and contingency plans should be prepared in advance. However, premature implementation of the protocol layer should be avoided to prevent consensus deadlock or the introduction of new risks. Even if the quantum threat has only a 1% chance of affecting Bitcoin, it is worthwhile to continue investing in research.

Bitcoin experienced some volatility on Sunday evening after the unsuccessful conclusion of the peace talks in Switzerland, but it rebounded from $63,300 and was stopped at $64,800.

Most larger-cap altcoins have remained stable as well, with ETH closing at $1,750 and SOL aiming at $75.

Bitcoin rocketed on the news, going from under $64,000 to over $67,000 within a day. However, it couldn’t maintain its run and dipped to its starting point ahead of the latest FOMC meeting.

Before and after the Fed’s expected announcement of keeping the rates unchanged, the cryptocurrency went to $66,400 before it plunged by four grand, especially since the new Chairman of the central bank remained hawkish.

The bulls finally intervened at this point and helped BTC recover some ground. The asset climbed to $63,000-$64,000 over the weekend and remained there for the most part aside from a brief deviation to $63,200 and $64,800. That came after the new threats from Trump against Iran and the conclusion of the meeting between the two sides in Switzerland.

Nevertheless, BTC has returned to $64,000 as of press time. Its market cap is at $1.285 trillion, while its dominance over the alts is still at 56.2% on CG.

BTCUSD June 22. Source: TradingView Alts Stable Too Most larger-cap alts have produced little to no volatility in the past 24 hours. Ethereum is slightly in the green and sits close to $1,750. Binance Coin remains close to $600 after a minor increase. XRP is still below $1.15, while SOL has neared $75 after a 1.2% increase.

HYPE is down by 2% daily, while ZEC and CC have lost around 3% of value. In contrast, WLD has gained 6.5% in the past 24 hours and sits close to $0.65. Other notable gainers over the past day include VVV (8%), ADI (3.2%), and M (3%).

The cumulative market cap of all crypto assets has remained at essentially the same level as yesterday at $2.290 trillion.

Bitcoin Network Activity Hits Highest Level Since 2024: CryptoQuant
BTC Bitcoin LVL Level
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Bitcoin network activity has surged to its highest level since 2024, with daily transactions topping 800,000, but CryptoQuant says the increase is being driven largely by low-value protocol activity such as Ordinals, Runes and BRC-20 transactions rather than economic demand.

Bitcoin’s onchain transaction count has climbed to its strongest level of 2026, a near-record pace not seen since late 2024 — yet the economic value behind those transactions tells a different story, according to a research note published by CryptoQuant last week.

Daily Bitcoin transactions have surpassed 800,000, more than doubling from lows recorded in 2025 and approaching the peak levels seen during the 2023–2025 bull cycle. The network’s activity index has broken above trend for the first time since December 2024, sitting just 7% below its all-time high activity levels recorded in September 2024.

“This above-trend reading has been sustained for several weeks and marks the first positive activity regime since mid-2024, contrasting sharply with Bitcoin’s ongoing bear market price decline,” CryptoQuant wrote in the note.

The catch: the transactions driving that surge are tiny. Cohorts of less than 0.01 BTC and less than 0.001 BTC now together account for roughly 80% of all daily Bitcoin transfers — up from around 44% in 2023. “The economic content of these transactions differs materially from prior high-activity periods,” the firm noted.

Bitcoin’s protocol-driven activity CryptoQuant attributes the shift to protocol-driven activity: Ordinals, Runes, BRC-20 tokens, and data timestamping services that rely on Bitcoin’s OP_RETURN field, a transaction output that allows users to attach arbitrary data to a bitcoin transaction. The removal of OP_RETURN’s byte limit last year following a contentious community debate opened the door to a surge in this kind of usage. “Usage has spiked to near-record levels in 2026,” the firm wrote, describing these protocols as generators of “high volumes of dust-value transactions.”

The result is rising mempool congestion. According to FXStreet’s coverage of the note, the Bitcoin mempool expanded to around 128,000 pending transactions at the time of writing — its highest level since late February 2025, with congestion concentrated among low-fee transactions. CryptoQuant warned that “sustained expansion could drive fee increases for time-sensitive economic transactions.”

The divergence between network activity and price is stark. Bitcoin is trading around $64,700, down roughly 17% over the past 30 days and nearly 50% below its October 2025 record of $126,080.

High transaction counts in prior cycles correlated with rising prices and economic demand; this time, the volume reflects protocol use rather than a surge in financial transfers.

For now, the network is busy — just not with the kind of activity that has historically moved the price.

Bitcoin OG Selling Drops to Lowest Level Since Late 2024
BTC Bitcoin LVL Level
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Bitcoin is yet to recover from the prolonged market volatility, but selling pressure among long-time Bitcoin holders is easing as they become more willing to hodl their assets.

According to data from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant, selling activity among Bitcoin's oldest holders has declined significantly as they appear to be growing more confident.

It is important to note that long-term holders who have held Bitcoin for more than five years are commonly referred to as "OGs"; hence, the slowdown in their selling activity suggests that they are no longer willing to sell cautiously.

HOT Stories

Bitcoin OGs now holdingFollowing the decline, the metric has reached its lowest level since late 2024, suggesting that market pressure is easing and Bitcoin might be preparing for a major move.

Apparently, this cycle recorded some of the strongest OG selling activity in Bitcoin's history, especially during periods when the market experienced a brief rally, suggesting that they might have been taking profits.

You Might Also Like

During the periods of intense selling from the Bitcoin OGs, the market saw large amounts of Bitcoin — about 10,000 BTC, 30,000 BTC, and even 142,000 BTC — being dumped by long-term holders.

This signaled periods of intense distribution from long-term holders. However, this behavior has seen a significant shift as the average amount of BTC spent by OGs over the last three months has now fallen below 1,000 BTC, currently standing at 962 BTC. This marks its lowest reading since November 2024.

Bitcoin price outlook With Bitcoin currently trading in a downward trajectory, the massive slowdown in its price movement may be attributed to the bearish behavior recently exhibited by the OGs.

With the selling pressure from these traders now fading, analysts believe that Bitcoin may soon experience a reversal in its downtrend and might be preparing for a potential price surge as demand returns.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez shared notable technical and on-chain levels for Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to Martinez, the $60,000 region is critical for maintaining the current trend in Bitcoin.

The analyst noted that, according to on-chain data, more than 1.3 million BTC changed hands between $60,000 and $63,000. Martinez emphasized that this region represents one of the largest volume clusters for Bitcoin, and stated that the $60,587 level should be maintained as short-term support.

According to Martinez, if Bitcoin falls below this support level, the next significant level for the price could be $46,702. The analyst stated that approximately 150,000 BTC are currently trading in this region. Further down, Martinez noted that the $37,867 level stands out, with 207,000 BTC changing hands in that area.

Ali Martinez stated that he was monitoring daily closes to see if buyers would defend the volume block around the $60,000 mark.

On the Ethereum side, the analyst noted that ETH is trading below the 200-hour simple moving average. According to Martinez, unless Ethereum regains this level, the $1,580 level can be watched as the next important target.

Leading cryptocurrencies cracked alongside stocks on Tuesday, after a sharp decline in chip-related stocks cast doubts on the sustainability of the AI rally.

Crypto Market Sinks DeeperBitcoin dropped below $62,000 amid heavy selling, while Ethereum bulls failed to defend the support at $1,700. XRP and Dogecoin recorded sharp declines as well.

Over $560 million was liquidated from the cryptocurrency market in the last 24 hours, with $490 million in bullish long positions wiped out, according to Coinglass data.

Roughly $350 million in Bitcoin longs were at risk of liquidation if the price dropped to $60,000.

Bitcoin’s open interest fell 1.39% over the last 24 hours. Whale and retail derivatives traders, meanwhile, bought the dip, adding more long exposure to BTC.

Top Gainers (24 Hours)

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $2.15 trillion, following a decline of 1.63% from the previous day.

Stocks In Red After Chip Stocks TumbleStocks faced heavy sell-offs on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 45.87 points, or 0.09%, to close at 51,666.84. The S&P 500 slid 1.44% to end at 7,365.46, while the tech-focused Nasdaq Composite declined 2.21% to close at 25,587.04.

Why This Support Is Significant For BTCAli Martinez, a widely followed cryptocurrency analyst and trader, said that Bitcoin must hold the support at $60,587 to “maintain the current trend.”

Citing on-chain data, the analyst highlighted the $60,000–$63,000 range as one of the largest volume clusters, where over one million BTC changed hands.

Michaël van de Poppe, another well-known cryptocurrency commentator, stated that Ethereum is currently stuck in the middle and needs to break above $1,800 to “regain momentum.”

“If the markets break back into that range, it can move quickly to $2,500+,” Van De Poppe said. “Other than that, it’s very likely to see retests at $1,385 and/or $1,505.”

Micron's conference call delivers strong signals: the memory shortage will continue until 2028, and AI long-term contracts are rewriting the industry cycle narrative.

Micron Technology (MU) revealed in its early-morning earnings call that its strategic customer agreements rose from 1 to 16 sequentially, covering roughly 20% of its DRAM shipments and around one-third of its NAND shipments. Of these deals, 14 calculated at minimum contract prices represent a cumulative remaining revenue of approximately $100 billion. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said these agreements will "fundamentally transform" the company’s business model. The key takeaway for the market is that Micron is being repositioned from a highly cyclical memory stock to an AI infrastructure provider with far greater revenue visibility. During the call, Micron disclosed it expects industry tightness to persist beyond 2027, and even as supply gradually improves in 2028, there is no clear timeline for supply to catch up with demand. Management attributed this gap to the large scale, complexity, and long lead times of new semiconductor fab construction. CFO Mark Murphy noted that DRAM revenue jumped 343% year-over-year to $31.3 billion, while NAND revenue surged 361% YoY to $9.9 billion. DRAM prices rose in the low-60% range, and NAND prices increased in the mid-80% range. He explained that the quarter’s earnings, which handily beat market expectations, were driven more by pricing power and supply-demand imbalances rather than just shipment volume. The company forecasts capital expenditure of roughly $10 billion this quarter, and $27 billion for full fiscal 2026. Fiscal 2027 quarterly capex will exceed the FY2026 fourth quarter level, with more than half allocated to cleanroom construction. However, the CFO also stated that free cash flow for the current quarter is expected to continue rising sharply. Overall, the call’s messaging sent three key signals to the market: persistent memory shortages, customer willingness to sign long-term agreements, and further upside for prices. This drove Micron’s (MU) shares to surge nearly 16% in U.S. post-market trading.

Attention Bitcoin Investors: Analysts Say This Level Will Determine the Fate of the BTC Price! Here Are the Details
BTC Bitcoin LVL Level
CoinGecko News
Original source text
The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, is stuck between $60,000 and $62,000. According to recent analyses, BTC is testing the $60,000 support level due to the lack of recovery catalysts.

In this context, although Bitcoin rose above $65,000 on Monday, it subsequently fell back to the $62,000 level. The market is now focused on whether the $60,000 support level will hold. It is noted in the market that $60,000 is seen as the most important short-term technical and psychological support level.

According to analysts, institutional investors, who led the rally in the current cycle, are reducing their risk, making a strong recovery unlikely until ETF flows reverse again.

While $60,000 is critical for Bitcoin, one analyst suggested that if BTC breaks the $60,000 support level, it could fall as low as $46,000.

At this point, popular cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez stated in a post on his X account that if Bitcoin loses its on-chain support of $60,587, it could fall to $46,702 and even potentially to $37,867.

Based on on-chain data, the analyst noted that the $60,000 to $63,000 range is a significant demand zone where more than 1.3 million BTC is traded.

According to the analyst, maintaining the $60,587 support level is crucial to preserving the current market structure. If this price is broken, a drop to the $46,702 level, where 150,000 BTC is currently trading, is possible. If this support is also broken, the next significant support area will be the $37,867 level, where 207,000 BTC is currently trading.

Finally, analyst Murphy, using a pseudonym, also highlighted the importance of $60,000, stating that Bitcoin would find strong support around the $60,000 level near the June 26 option expiry and that a drop below this level was unlikely.

According to the analyst, a total of 4,620 BTC of put options positions have accumulated at the $60,000 strike price, creating a strong put wall that generates significant buying power and will provide solid support as the price approaches this level.

In this context, the analyst considers $60,000 a strong short-term support level and remains cautiously optimistic about Bitcoin’s short-term performance.

Legendary 10-Year Indicator Hits “Bitcoin Is Dead” Level After Latest Drop: But Its Meaning Could Be Very Different
BTC Bitcoin LVL Level
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Bitcoin has fallen below the lowest band on the Bitcoin Rainbow Chart model, used to track long-term price trends, entering the purple zone labeled “Bitcoin is dead.” This level, in the original version of the model, historically only indicates periods of extreme panic and worthlessness that have occurred very rarely.

Developed in 2014 by Reddit user Azop, the Bitcoin Rainbow Chart tracks Bitcoin’s long-term price movement using a logarithmic growth curve. Different colored regions in the model represent different phases of market sentiment. Bitcoin falling below the lowest band is considered a remarkable development, occurring only twice in the model’s history.

Some Bitcoin observers interpret this price drop to this region as a significant bullish signal. Those who hold this view point to Bitcoin forming a cyclical bottom in 2022 after falling to around $15,000, and then undergoing a strong recovery.

However, analysts have differing opinions on the meaning of this signal. Markus Levin, co-founder of XYO, stated that Bitcoin’s price falling below a range that has been valid for more than 10 years indicates a structural change in the model. According to Levin, this doesn’t mean Bitcoin is “dead”; rather, it shows that the Rainbow Chart model has lost its validity.

Ethra COO Emad Shahin also stated that the Rainbow Chart should be seen more as an indicator of sentiment than a forecasting tool. GoMining CEO Mark Zalan said that the “Bitcoin is dead” zone doesn’t mean Bitcoin is truly over; historically, this zone has often corresponded to periods of extreme panic and low valuation. According to Zalan, corrections and recovery tend to be seen in the market after such periods.

However, the increasing role of institutional investors, spot ETF flows, derivatives market activity, and macroeconomic developments in Bitcoin pricing reduces the effectiveness of analyses based solely on historical valuation models.

Bitget’s chief analyst, Ryan Lee, stated that Bitcoin’s position in the lower region of the Rainbow Chart indicates weakening market sentiment, but this doesn’t necessarily mean a new and sharp low is imminent. According to Lee, a further decline in risk appetite could lead to Bitcoin falling towards the $50,000 range, a possibility that cannot be entirely ruled out.

What's Stopping Wider Crypto Adoption? It Could Be Tax Policies, Says One Expert
BTC Bitcoin PRO Propy
CoinGecko News
Original source text
As the U.S. Congress heads toward what many predict will be its most crypto-friendly session yet, Tanya Solati, vice president of business development at Propy, saw this as an opportunity for meaningful regulatory progress.

Solati, who will be speaking at the upcoming Benzinga Future of Digital Assets event on Nov. 19, shared her perspective on what's needed to advance the digital asset space, particularly regarding tax reforms and tokenization.

Simplifying Tax Rules to Encourage UseSolati pointed to the current tax laws as a significant barrier to broader adoption. Under existing rules, every crypto-to-fiat transaction results in a capital gains tax, making daily use impractical.

“A major game changer could be reworking tax laws, especially for small transactions,” Solati explained, emphasizing that removing such penalties could enable a more seamless user experience.

This reform would make digital currencies more suitable for everyday transactions, which she believes could drive wider engagement. Removing tax penalties on smaller exchanges would make digital currencies more practical, allowing users to trade, purchase and sell without constant tax implications.

Real-World Asset Tokenization Gains MomentumA central focus of Solati's discussion was the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs), which she believed was a crucial step in the evolution of the digital finance landscape.

"With BlackRock heavily investing in tokenized RWAs, it's clear that this represents a shift in the future of finance," she said. Solati viewed this development as a significant indicator of where digital assets are headed as traditional finance players move deeper into the space.

Solati noted that for this tokenization model to reach its full potential, regulatory frameworks must accommodate smoother transaction processes and avoid tax triggers at every step. Adjusting these laws could allow the RWA market to expand further, making it more appealing to investors and users.

Defining Digital Assets ClearlyIn addition to tax adjustments, Solati emphasized the importance of clearly defining different types of digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and DeFi tokens. She suggested clearer definitions could provide the foundation for more precise regulations, leading to better compliance and wider adoption.

Solati sees the potential for these regulatory developments to create a more organized and accessible digital asset environment. With clearer guidelines, she believes that institutions, retail investors, and everyday users will be more comfortable engaging with digital currencies.

Looking AheadWhile there are still many challenges ahead, Solati remained optimistic. She saw the upcoming legislative session as an opportunity to address the issues holding back digital asset adoption, primarily through tax reforms and clear regulations.
