Houlihan Lokey Bets on Energy Advisory Growth With Intrepid Buyout
HLI Houlihan Lokey
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Houlihan Lokey expands its energy advisory business with the Intrepid acquisition.Intrepid brings experience of 120 energy deals worth over $215 billion and veteran bankers. The deal boosts HLI's ability to win higher-value M&A and capital markets mandates. Houlihan Lokey, Inc. (HLI - Free Report) recently agreed to acquire Intrepid Financial Partners, an independent investment bank focused on advising clients across the energy sector. The deal, signed on June 27, is expected to close before Sept. 30, 2026. As part of the transaction, Intrepid’s investment banking professionals will join Houlihan Lokey, while Intrepid Investment Management will remain a separate business and is not included in the acquisition.

Intrepid founder and CEO Hugh “Skip” McGee III will become managing director and global chairman of Houlihan Lokey’s Oil & Gas Group, strengthening the firm’s leadership and expertise in energy-focused advisory services. The acquisition significantly expands Houlihan Lokey’s presence in one of the most active advisory markets. Intrepid brings 34 financial professionals, increasing HLI’s global energy team to more than 70 specialists.

The combined platform broadens the firm’s ability to advise oil and gas companies on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and capital markets transactions and boosts its competitive position. It also brings veteran energy bankers Skip McGee and Christopher Winchenbaugh to the firm.

Financial terms of the acquisition are yet to be disclosed. The transaction is expected to enhance Houlihan Lokey’s long-term revenue potential by expanding its capabilities in the sector, where deal activity can generate substantial fee income. The combined entity advised on 23 U.S. Energy and Power M&A deals last year, on a pro forma basis.

Intrepid brings a proven track record, having advised on more than 120 energy transactions totaling over $215 billion since its inception. A larger team and broader client network should improve Houlihan Lokey’s ability to win mandates across deals and capital-raising transactions and innovate additional products. Because it adds specialized talent rather than another asset-heavy business, it also fits HLI’s strategy of growing through targeted advisory acquisitions.

Price PerformanceHoulihan Lokey shares have decreased 26.1% in the past year compared with the 23.6% decline of the industry it belongs to.

Zacks Rank & Key PicksHoulihan Lokey currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).

Is Ralph Lauren (RL) a Solid Growth Stock? 3 Reasons to Think "Yes"
RL Ralph Lauren
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Growth investors focus on stocks that are seeing above-average financial growth, as this feature helps these securities garner the market's attention and deliver solid returns. However, it isn't easy to find a great growth stock.

That's because, these stocks usually carry above-average risk and volatility. In fact, betting on a stock for which the growth story is actually over or nearing its end could lead to significant loss.

However, the Zacks Growth Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which looks beyond the traditional growth attributes to analyze a company's real growth prospects, makes it pretty easy to find cutting-edge growth stocks.

Ralph Lauren (RL - Free Report) is one such stock that our proprietary system currently recommends. The company not only has a favorable Growth Score, but also carries a top Zacks Rank.

Studies have shown that stocks with the best growth features consistently outperform the market. And returns are even better for stocks that possess the combination of a Growth Score of A or B and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) or 2 (Buy).

Here are three of the most important factors that make the stock of this upscale clothing company a great growth pick right now.

Earnings GrowthEarnings growth is arguably the most important factor, as stocks exhibiting exceptionally surging profit levels tend to attract the attention of most investors. For growth investors, double-digit earnings growth is highly preferable, as it is often perceived as an indication of strong prospects (and stock price gains) for the company under consideration.

While the historical EPS growth rate for Ralph Lauren is 20.5%, investors should actually focus on the projected growth. The company's EPS is expected to grow 10.5% this year, crushing the industry average, which calls for EPS growth of 5.5%.

Cash Flow GrowthCash is the lifeblood of any business, but higher-than-average cash flow growth is more beneficial and important for growth-oriented companies than for mature companies. That's because, high cash accumulation enables these companies to undertake new projects without raising expensive outside funds.

Right now, year-over-year cash flow growth for Ralph Lauren is 25.6%, which is higher than many of its peers. In fact, the rate compares to the industry average of 13.6%.

While investors should actually consider the current cash flow growth, it's worth taking a look at the historical rate too for putting the current reading into proper perspective. The company's annualized cash flow growth rate has been 27.6% over the past 3-5 years versus the industry average of 14.1%.

Promising Earnings Estimate RevisionsBeyond the metrics outlined above, investors should consider the trend in earnings estimate revisions. A positive trend is a plus here. Empirical research shows that there is a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.

The current-year earnings estimates for Ralph Lauren have been revising upward. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year has surged 0.2% over the past month.

Bottom LineWhile the overall earnings estimate revisions have made Ralph Lauren a Zacks Rank #2 stock, it has earned itself a Growth Score of B based on a number of factors, including the ones discussed above.

You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

This combination indicates that Ralph Lauren is a potential outperformer and a solid choice for growth investors.

Is Viking Therapeutics Stock Going to $100?
VKTX Viking Therapeutics
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Shares of Viking Therapeutics (VKTX 4.54%) have climbed by 27% over the past month. The drugmaker is a serious candidate to make waves in the large and growing anti-obesity drug market. With several ongoing clinical trials, there could be important catalysts on the horizon. Viking's shares are currently trading at about $40 apiece. Could the stock soar over the next 18 months and reach $100?

The bull case for Viking Therapeutics Viking Therapeutics' leading weight-loss candidate, VK2735, mimics the actions of two gut hormones, GLP-1 and GIP. The former helps control satiety, while the latter helps regulate blood glucose. Medicines that activate both pathways could deliver better weight loss than those that only mimic the GLP-1 hormone, as we have seen with Zepbound, a dual GLP-1 and GIP agonist that is currently the best-selling weight management drug. Viking Therapeutics' VK2735 is undergoing a pair of phase 3 studies in overweight or obese patients.

One of them has also enrolled those with diabetes. We could see results from these studies within 12 to 18 months. That's likely the biggest catalyst on the horizon for Viking Therapeutics. However, the company is working on other candidates, including an oral formulation of VK2735, which should also start phase 3 studies by year-end (the one currently in late-stage trials is administered via subcutaneous injection). What if Viking Therapeutics posts strong clinical trial results for subcutaneous VK2735, perhaps showing that it could rival -- or even exceed -- Zepbound's efficacy?

In that case, Viking Therapeutics' share price will soar. In the meantime, the company may also benefit if other drugmakers report disappointing clinical trial data for their weight-loss candidates. And elsewhere, Viking Therapeutics is running a study to test whether various doses and formulations of VK2735, given daily or weekly, can help patients keep the weight off.

This is an important initiative for the company, since many who take anti-obesity medicines end up regaining much of the weight they lost. Positive results from this maintenance trial could also jolt the stock price. Finally, Viking Therapeutics recently launched a phase 1 study for a brand-new weight-loss medicine that mimics the actions of the amylin and calcitonin hormones, which help regulate blood sugar, appetite, and calcium levels.

Targeting different pathways could address some shortcomings of current weight loss options, including undesirable side effects. Viking Therapeutics has a multipronged strategy that could eventually position it as a leader in the weight loss market.

Reasons to be skeptical Viking Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech with no marketed products. That makes the stock inherently risky. Further, upcoming catalysts, especially phase 3 results for VK2735, will be binary events, where positive results will send the stock price soaring, while poor data will sink it. Also, progress in the industry over the next year will be important -- and more late-stage clinical trial weight loss successes will make it even harder for Viking Therapeutics to impress the market. What should investors do? My view is that Viking Therapeutics' VK2735 posted robust phase 2 results, and there is a reasonable chance it will impress investors with its late-stage studies. And if it does, reaching $100 by the end of 2027 is by no means unachievable. However, the stock is also on the risky side, and risk-averse investors should probably stay away.

Hims & Hers stock jumps as Canaccord lifts target price ahead of FDA review
HIMS Hims Hers Health
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Hims & Hers Health shares HIMS surged 9% on Wednesday after Canaccord Genuity raised its price target on the telehealth company, citing improving sales trends, momentum in its weight-loss business, and growing optimism around its peptide opportunity.

Canaccord analyst Maria Ripps maintained a Buy rating on the stock while increasing her price target to $40 from $32, implying additional upside from current levels.

The upgrade comes after a strong second quarter for Hims & Hers, with the stock gaining approximately 67% during the period.

Ripps said Hims & Hers continues to benefit from stronger credit card spending data and the rollout of branded weight-loss medications.

The analyst noted that Hims has become one of Novo Nordisk's largest telehealth partners for weight-loss drugs.

The company also expanded its international presence by launching generic semaglutide in Canada in late May and completed its acquisition of Eucalyptus in early June.

According to Canaccord, credit card spending data showed adjusted year-over-year sales growth improving throughout the quarter, rising from the mid-to-high single digits in April to the high teens by June.

The company generated $2.37 billion in revenue over the last 12 months while posting 33% revenue growth and a 73% gross profit margin.

Canaccord also said improving sentiment around Hims' peptide strategy has become another positive catalyst for investors.

Investor attention is now turning to the US Food and Drug Administration's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for July 23-24.

The committee is expected to review seven peptides after FDA staff recommended against allowing compounding pharmacies to manufacture them, citing limited evidence supporting their use and unresolved safety concerns.

The peptides under review include BPC-157, Emideltide, Epitalon, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax and TB-500.

FDA scientists said available evidence was insufficient to support compounding and noted that potential safety risks could not be ruled out.

Former advisory committee member Dr. Anita Gupta said earlier reviews identified concerns over immune responses.

"At the time, the FDA presented a lot of adverse event data that showed there was a risk of immunogenicity — immune reactions — and that raised some red flags for the committee."

She also warned about product quality issues, saying some peptide products have shown "heavy metals," "microbial contamination" or mislabeling.

Despite the FDA staff recommendation, Ripps remains optimistic about the longer-term opportunity, noting that the advisory committee's current membership appears more supportive of peptides.

Hims has already positioned itself for a potential expansion into peptide therapies.

Earlier this year, the company acquired a California-based peptide manufacturing facility to strengthen its domestic supply chain and support future work in preventive health, metabolic optimization, cognitive performance and recovery science.

Several analysts believe the peptide market could represent a multibillion-dollar revenue opportunity if regulations become more favorable.

Needham analyst Ryan MacDonald described the FDA staff recommendation as unexpected but said it does not represent the final outcome.

"This is not the end of the conversation," he told the Hims House investor community on X, adding that approval odds may be "slightly less," but he is "still operating under the assumption that they will get approved."

MacDonald noted that the advisory committee must still review scientific evidence, hear stakeholder feedback, and make its recommendation before the FDA issues a final decision.

He also said FDA leadership ultimately determines the outcome, while the Department of Health and Human Services oversees the agency, with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. having publicly expressed support for peptide deregulation.

Brookfield and Bloom Energy Expanded Their AI Power Partnership to $25 Billion. Here's What Investors Need to Know.
BN-US Brookfield Corporation
FMP Stock News
Original source text
For the second time this year, one of Bloom Energy’s (BE 2.11%) strategic partners has significantly expanded its partnership less than a year after forming the initial collaboration. This time, it’s Brookfield Asset Management (BAM +1.34%). The global alternative asset manager is expanding its AI infrastructure partnership to $25 billion, a five-fold increase since forming the initial partnership last October. That follows Oracle’s (ORCL 1.62%) decision to significantly expand its strategic partnership after Bloom Energy delivered a fully operational fuel system to the cloud giant more than a month ahead of the anticipated deployment schedule.

Here’s what investors need to know about this expanded partnership.

Quintupling its investmentBrookfield sees a massive opportunity to invest in AI infrastructure. The global alternative investment firm estimates that total spending on AI-related infrastructure will exceed $1 trillion this decade and $7 trillion over the next 10 years. The company wants to capitalize on this once-in-a-generation opportunity to build the digital infrastructure backbone of the future. That led it to launch the inaugural Brookfield AI Infrastructure Fund late last year, which aims to acquire up to $100 billion of AI infrastructure assets.

One of Brookfield’s first seed investments in that fund was its initial $5 billion partnership with Bloom Energy. As part of that partnership, Brookfield would deploy up to 1 GW of Bloom Energy’s advanced fuel cells to power data centers and AI factories (specialized AI data centers). The two companies are also collaborating on the design and delivery of AI factories.

Brookfield is now boosting its investment commitment to $25 billion due to strong, sustained demand from hyperscalers and AI infrastructure developers for fast, reliable, and community-friendly power. The expanded partnership brings together Brookfield’s leadership in developing AI infrastructure, access to capital, and operating scale with Bloom’s rapidly deployable on-site power solution. The companies believe this partnership will help them advance a new model for AI factory development that integrates power, compute, data center infrastructure, and capital.

The standard for on-site powerBloom Energy founder and CEO KR Sridhar believes the company is “ushering in the era of digital power for the digital age” as it’s “rapidly becoming the standard and 'go-to choice' for on-site power.” The expanded partnerships with Brookfield and Oracle show the truth behind that bold statement.

Oracle selected Bloom Energy to deploy its fuel cell technology at selects data centers last year because these fast-to-deploy power solutions could meet the high demands of AI workloads. Bloom delivered its first system in 55 days, well ahead of the 90-day target. That convinced Oracle to expand its agreement to acquire up to 2.8 GW of Bloom’s fuel cell systems, including the 1.2 GW it has already contracted. Brookfield and its clients are also seeing the benefits of deploying Bloom’s fuel cells to power data centers. The rapid deployment is huge, as securing and building power infrastructure has proven to be a major bottleneck in slowing AI data center development.

The growing popularity of Bloom’s fuel cell systems is powering rapid growth for the hydrogen company. Bloom’s revenue rocketed 130% in the first quarter to $750 million, while its operating income surged $91.3 million to $72.2 million. Bloom currently expects to book between $3.4 billion and $3.8 billion of revenue this year, up 80% from last year (an acceleration from the 60% growth it initially expected). With Brookfield now following Oracle in significantly expanding its order, Bloom’s revenue should continue surging.

Bloom might not be as expensive as it looksBloom’s accelerating revenue and expanding strategic partnerships have sent its stock soaring by more than 1,100% over the past year. As a result, the fuel cell company trades at over 30 times sales and more than 135 times forward earnings. While Bloom is growing exceptionally fast, that’s a hefty premium. However, the expanded Brookfield deal alone is now worth nearly a third of Bloom’s entire market cap (recently $83 billion). With the potential for more large-scale partnerships in the future, Bloom might not be as expensive as it seems. It's becoming the go-to stock to play the AI power boom.

GE Vernova Was Red Hot in the First Six Months of 2026. Can It Keep the Momentum Going in the Second Half?
GEV-US GE Vernova
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The stock of GE Vernova (GEV 2.93%) is up almost 60% in 2026 as of this writing. The capital investment boom in artificial intelligence (AI) data centers has proved stronger than the market expected going into the year, and the benefits are immediately visible in the company's guidance and backlog growth. Still, can the good run continue in 2026?

The GE Vernova investment analysis Ultimately, the answer comes down to ongoing market conditions for investment in AI data centers (GE Vernova makes gas turbines that power them and electrification equipment essential to their operation), growth in its equipment backlog, and something called slot reservation agreements (SRAs). These events are key to the investment case for the stock and help differentiate the company from many other AI-related stocks.

First, despite being known as an equipment company, GE Vernova generates the bulk of its profit from services. The company sells gas turbines (and wind turbines) that come with long-term service agreements attached, which generally run for 5 to 25 years and "generally include maintenance associated with major outage events," according to the company's Securities and Exchange Commission filings. So the company locks in long-term services revenue as equipment deliveries grow.

Moreover, it generates service revenue from its electrification segment, as grid solutions, power conversion, and software will need upgrades and replacements over time. The good news is that across all three segments (power, electrification, and wind), its services margin is much higher than its equipment margin.

All together, when GE Vernova increases its equipment backlog, as it did in the first quarter by reporting a $76 billion backlog, compared to a $64 billion backlog at the end of 2025, then investors need to start penciling in increased long-term earnings and cash flow from servicing gas power turbines (particularly heavy-duty gas power turbines used for data centers), and wind turbines.

Slot reservation agreements SRAs are contracts under which customers pay up-front to secure future manufacturing slots for equipment. Their growth is a key marker of surging demand, and they increased to 56 gigawatts (GW) in the first quarter from 43 GW at the end of 2025. That increase implies more up-front cash flow for GE Vernova, and given that its billing agreements "are generally based on achieving specified milestones," it's likely to result in more near-term cash flow for the company as those milestones are hit.

A stock worth buying? As long as GE Vernova's equipment orders and backlog keep growing, the stock is likely to do well as investors price in more near-term SRAs and long-term recurring, higher-margin services revenue -- something to watch in the coming earnings reports.

OKLO's Latest Deal Brings Critical Engineering In-House
OKLO Oklo
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways OKLO acquired CEI to bring critical sodium engineering expertise in-house for Aurora commercialization.CEI's team adds sodium handling, testing, manufacturing and fabrication capabilities to OKLO.CEI will keep serving commercial nuclear customers, preserving revenue alongside its role at OKLO. Oklo Inc.’s (OKLO - Free Report) acquisition of Creative Engineers, Inc. (“CEI”) is more than a routine bolt-on deal. It reflects the nuclear operator’s strategy of bringing highly specialized engineering capabilities in-house to support the commercialization of its Aurora sodium-cooled fast reactors. CEI has decades of expertise in sodium, sodium-potassium alloy (NaK) and other alkali-metal systems, along with experience in liquid-metal component development, fabrication, manufacturing and applied research.

Since liquid sodium is the coolant used in Aurora reactors, these capabilities directly address one of the most technically demanding parts of reactor development. The two companies have already collaborated for several years on sodium loops, pumps, flow meters and safety training, making the acquisition a natural extension of an existing working relationship.

The acquisition also strengthens OKLO’s execution model by reducing its dependence on outside contractors for critical engineering work. Bringing CEI’s approximately 20 engineers, fabricators and welders into the organization gives OKLO greater control over sodium handling, testing, equipment manufacturing and research activities that are essential for reactor deployment. The company expects this closer integration to accelerate design improvements, shorten development timelines and lower execution risks associated with specialized equipment and fabrication. Instead of coordinating these capabilities externally, OKLO can now manage them internally, creating tighter feedback loops between engineering, manufacturing and deployment.

The transaction also aligns with OKLO’s broader strategy of building a vertically integrated nuclear platform. CEI has generated positive free cash flow for more than five years, allowing OKLO to add specialized expertise while acquiring an operating business with an established financial track record. Importantly, CEI will continue serving its existing commercial nuclear customers, preserving an additional revenue stream alongside its expanded role within OKLO.

Following the recent ARMEC acquisition, the CEI deal further demonstrates that OKLO is prioritizing ownership of critical engineering and manufacturing capabilities to improve execution speed and strengthen its path toward Aurora commercialization.

OKLO is not the only nuclear company using acquisitions to address execution and supply-chain bottlenecks. Across the sector, companies are buying targeted technology, logistics and manufacturing assets to improve control over critical capabilities and prepare for rising nuclear demand.

Nuclear Players Turn to Deals for Execution ControlNANO Nuclear Energy (NNE - Free Report) is using acquisitions to broaden its nuclear platform and support commercialization. NANO Nuclear acquired USNC patents tied to its ZEUS, ODIN, KRONOS MMR and LOKI Micro Modular Reactor programs. NANO Nuclear also bought Secured Transportation Services, adding in-house nuclear fuel logistics and transport expertise. These moves help NANO Nuclear protect key technology, strengthen deployment planning and reduce reliance on outside partners.

Meanwhile, BWX Technologies (BWXT - Free Report) is expanding its U.S. nuclear manufacturing base through acquisitions. BWX Technologies agreed to acquire Precision Components Group, including Precision Custom Components and DC Fabricators. The deal adds heavy-manufacturing space, skilled labor and capabilities in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, machining, welding and fabrication. For BWX Technologies, this improves speed, capacity and control as commercial nuclear demand grows.

The Zacks Rundown on OKLOFrom a valuation standpoint, OKLO trades at a price-to-book ratio of 3.45, below the industry.

Forget SpaceX: This High-Margin Space Data King Is Cheaper

SpaceX is dominating financial headlines with a record-breaking IPO, a rumored $2 trillion valuation, and a Starlink/Starship hype loop that has retirement-focused investors scrambling for pre-IPO access. The more compelling opportunity sits in plain sight on the public market.

The SpaceX trade fails the retirement portfolio test on arithmetic alone. Retail buyers cannot touch the shares directly, secondary-market vehicles charge punitive premiums, and the offering is priced at a dangerous, highly speculative revenue multiple that leaves retail buyers with zero margin of safety ahead of its August lock-up expiration. Insiders exit, retail holds the bag. That movie has run before.

The better ticker is already public, already profitable, and already selling the data a launch business cannot monetize. Planet Labs (NYSE:PL) runs the picks-and-shovels layer of the space economy: an Earth-observation satellite fleet plus an AI-enabled geospatial data subscription business.

1. A high-margin subscription model that funds itself Planet Labs is a software business wrapped inside a satellite operator. In Q1 FY2027, revenue hit a record $94.15 million, up 42% YoY, with GAAP gross margin at 54% and non-GAAP gross margin at 56%. About 99% of annual contract value is recurring. Non-GAAP EPS came in at -$0.03, with the reported GAAP loss distorted by a $106.47 million non-cash warrant revaluation that is now behind the company.

2. A backlog that reads like a defense contractor Forward visibility is the number retirement investors should care about. Planet exited the quarter with backlog above $906 million, up 72% YoY, and remaining performance obligations of $816.01 million, up 81% YoY. The customer roster includes a €240 million German government deal, Sweden’s first sovereign reconnaissance satellite, NATO expansions, NGA, NRO, and the U.S. Navy. Signed contracts backed by government budgets carry different risk than IPO speculation.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Planet Labs didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

3. AI optionality built into the data layer CEO Will Marshall summarized the strategy in the most recent quarter: “By investing in AI, we are positioning Planet at the forefront of the industry and pioneering ways to make planetary-scale insights available and actionable to more users than ever before.” The company has an R&D partnership with Google on Project Suncatcher data centers in space, a natural-language query beta, SuperRes AI upscaling, and Pelican satellites moving toward 30cm-class imagery. Every rocket the launch industry puts in orbit ultimately feeds a data layer this business already owns.

The profitability inflection closes the case. FY2026 delivered $52.87 million in free cash flow and $15.49 million of adjusted EBITDA profit, the first full year of both. FY2027 guidance calls for $425 million to $441 million in revenue and up to $10 million of adjusted EBITDA profit.

The obvious pushback is BlackSky Technology (NYSE:BKSY), the smaller pure-play competitor. BlackSky’s Q1 2026 revenue was $20.77 million, down 29.7% YoY, missing expectations by 23.8%, with EPS of -$0.82 against a consensus of -$0.40. Roughly one-tenth Planet Labs’ $10.64 billion market cap, negative operating cash flow at -$2.36 million, and revenue moving the wrong direction.

For investors weighing the SpaceX pre-IPO scramble, Planet Labs belongs on the research short list.

BigBear.ai vs. SoundHound AI: Which AI Stock Is a Better Buy in 2026?
BBAI BigBear.ai Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
As the artificial intelligence (AI) landscape matures in 2026, investors are weighing the divergent paths of BigBear.ai (BBAI +0.14%) and SoundHound AI (SOUN +4.87%). Choosing between these two players requires balancing government contract stability against rapid commercial expansion.

BigBear.ai specializes in decision intelligence and predictive analytics, primarily serving the defense and intelligence communities. SoundHound AI focuses on conversational voice technology, powering interactive experiences in cars and restaurants. Both companies represent different strategies for capturing value in the evolving software market.

The case for BigBear.aiBigBear.ai focuses on providing mission-ready AI solutions, including predictive analytics and computer vision, to complex organizations. The company targets high-stakes environments where its technology can prove most valuable, including homeland security and supply chain management. While it recently launched an AI cargo security platform with the Panama Transshipment Group, its core remains U.S. public sector contracts.

BigBear.ai relies heavily on U.S. government sector contracts, which account for a substantial portion of its total business. In 2025, revenue reached $127.7 million, a 19.3% decline from the previous year. The company reported a net loss of nearly $293.9 million for the period.

As of its December 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is 0.2x. This ratio measures total debt relative to shareholders’ equity, indicating how much a company relies on borrowed funds. The current ratio, which gauges the ability to cover short-term debts with short-term assets, is approximately 1.8x. Free cash flow for 2025 was negative $42.5 million, representing cash from operations minus capital expenditures.

The case for SoundHound AISoundHound AI builds conversational AI experiences for businesses across digital and physical channels. Its technology powers millions of products, with a heavy presence in the automotive and restaurant sectors. A key development is the expansion of its partnership with Casey’s, which now deploys AI voice-ordering agents across more than 2,600 locations. The company is also scaling its enterprise footprint through its planned $100 million acquisition of LivePerson.

In 2025, SoundHound AI reported revenue of approximately $168.9 million, up nearly 99.4% over the prior year. The company recorded a net loss of $14 million. This resulted in a net margin of approximately-8.3%, indicating the company is nearing the break-even point.

According to its December 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is 0.3x. The company maintains a current ratio of nearly 4.6x, suggesting a strong liquidity position for its current operations. Free cash flow for 2025 was negative $99 million. This figure represents the cash remaining after the company pays for its operating costs and capital investments.

Risk profile comparisonBigBear.ai faces significant legal and financial reporting risks, including a material class action lawsuit and the requirement to restate multiple years of financial statements. The company also faces high revenue concentration, as customers contributing over 10% of revenue accounted for 51% of total revenue in 2025. Furthermore, integration challenges from the Pangiam acquisition have previously led to goodwill impairment charges.

SoundHound AI has identified material weaknesses in its internal control over financial reporting related to recent acquisitions. Its aggressive acquisition strategy, including the pending acquisition of LivePerson, creates integration challenges and the potential for future asset impairments. The company also faces intense competition from large technology firms with vast resources, such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet.

Valuation comparisonBigBear.ai trades at a lower P/S ratio but faces declining revenue, while SoundHound AI maintains a higher valuation despite rapid growth. Both stocks lack a Forward P/E due to negative future earnings estimates.

MetricBigBear.aiSoundHound AISector BenchmarkForward P/En/an/a36.4xP/S ratio9.8x16.4xn/aSector benchmark uses the SPDR XLK sector ETF.
Valuation metrics sourced from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) and may differ from other data providers.

Both companies face risks and challenges related to improving margins and profitability. However, SoundHound AI may offer higher upside over the long term.

Excluding acquisitions, SoundHound’s automotive and Internet of Things business grew 88% year over year last quarter. In addition to the restaurant industry, it serves many leading companies across the banking, airline, and telecommunications sectors.

BigBear.ai may have significant upside from these low share prices, but it seems to have a narrower market focus in national security, trade, and travel. Revenue has declined since 2021, falling from $145 million to $127 million on a trailing-12-month basis. Investors buying the stock are placing a big bet that the company will land lucrative contracts in the future, but that’s not a guarantee in a competitive market.

Meanwhile, SoundHound is already delivering steady revenue growth. Much of its growth over the last few years has come from acquisitions, but these are strategic deals that expand its capabilities. For example, the acquisition of LivePerson extends its customer base to hundreds of additional enterprise brands.

The main challenge for SoundHound is improving margins. There’s been no clear trend in its net income or free cash flow to indicate when it might turn the corner on the bottom line. The good news is that it is in a solid financial position, with its March 31, 2026, balance sheet showing $215 million in cash and no debt.

Both stocks are highly volatile without a clear near-term path to profitability. But SoundHound’s revenue growth and expanding customer base in the enterprise sector give the company an easier path to achieving scale, which could eventually lead to more consistent profits.

Ethereum Institutional se lanza como una organización independiente sin ánimo de lucro
BMNR Bitmine Immersion Technologies
FMP Stock News

History: Buy This AI Data Center Stock Now
IREN IREN
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Shares of AI data center giant IREN (IREN) are moving 3.9% lower at $43.94 this afternoon, pulling back as a choppy tech sector weighs on investors. Despite the blockchain specialist’s debut on the Russell 1000 Index (RUT) earlier this week, the equity is headed for an eighth-straight daily drop—its lowest close since April. However, not all is lost. In fact, IREN is sporting a 14.8% year-to-date lead and now looks to be within a chip shot of a historically bullish trendline.

According to Schaeffer’s Senior Quantitative Analyst Rocky White, IREN is trading within 0.75 times the 260-day moving average's 20-day average true range (ATR), after spending at least 80% of the previous two weeks and 80% of the prior 42 trading sessions above that trendline.

This signal has flashed five times over the last decade, after which the stock was higher one month later 60% of the time, averaging a 19.9% gain. A similar move from the stock’s current perch would put the AI powerhouse at $52.68.

Daily IREN with 260-day moving average

LSEG Workspace

Bears look firmly in control, with 18.7% of the stock’s available float sold short. Short interest rose 26.5% during the past two reporting periods, leaving less than two days for sellers to buy back their bearish bets while IREN is ripe for a squeeze.

Options traders have been bearish as well, leaving more room for bulls should this attention begin to unwind. Specifically, at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), IREN stock's 10-day put/call volume ratio of 4.20 ranks in the highest possible percentile of its annual range.

Sandisk (SNDK 10.50%) stock is sinking in Wednesday's trading. The company's share price was down 11% as of 2 p.m. ET amid a 0.1% gain for the S&P 500 and a 0.2% decline for the Nasdaq Composite.

Sandisk stock is heading lower today as investors sell out of artificial intelligence chip stocks and buy back into top AI software names. While the stock is getting hit with a big pullback today, Sandisk actually got a big price-target increase from a leading investment firm.

AI investment rotation is weighing on Sandisk stock today Sandisk stock has been a massive winner this year, with its share price up 759% year to date as of this writing even after some recent pullbacks. Bullish momentum for AI semiconductor stocks has been incredibly strong this year, and leading memory chip stocks have been especially strong performers. Sandisk has been one of the market's biggest winners, but it's seeing some bearish pressures today as investors take profits and reallocate some of their investment dollars into AI software plays.

This top investment firm just gave Sandisk a massive price target hike Before the market opened this morning, Bank of America's investment wing published new coverage on Sandisk stock and issued a huge price target increase. The firm maintained a buy rating on Sandisk and raised its one-year price target from $2,100 per share to $2,500 per share.

B of A's analysts see Sandisk benefiting from a "strong for longer" dynamic when it comes to supply and-demand trends and pricing for NAND memory chips. The firm sees demand for NAND memory chips remaining very strong for 2027, which should translate to more strong sales and earnings growth for Sandisk.

Deadline Alert: Futu Holdings Limited (FUTU) Shareholders Who Lost Money Urged to Contact Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP About Securities Fraud Lawsuit
FUTU Futu Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP reminds investors of the upcoming August 25, 2026 deadline to file a lead plaintiff motion in the class action filed on behalf of investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Futu Holdings Limited (“Futu” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: FUTU) securities between May 24, 2023 and May 27, 2026, inclusive (the “Class Period”).

IF YOU SUFFERED A LOSS ON YOUR FUTU INVESTMENTS, CLICK HERE TO INQUIRE ABOUT POTENTIALLY PURSUING CLAIMS TO RECOVER YOUR LOSS UNDER THE FEDERAL SECURITIES LAWS.

What Happened?

On December 30, 2022, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (“CSRC”) issued a statement that Futu has conducted cross-border securities businesses with domestic investors in mainland China without regulatory consent. As a result, Futu was banned from opening new accounts from mainland Chinese investors and soliciting new business from mainland investors.

Then, on May 22, 2026, before the market opened, Reuters published an article reporting that the CSRC, along with seven other government agencies including the central bank, had launched a crackdown aimed at “brokers it accused of illegally moving money to foreign markets” including “overseas firms and their local partners operating without approval.” The article reported “online brokers Tiger, Futu and Longbridge would be penalised for soliciting business in China without an onshore licence, the securities regulator said.”

On the same date, pre-market, Futu issued a press release disclosing that it had received a Notification Letter from the CSRC. The Company reported the letter states “certain Futu entities in mainland China and Hong Kong … without obtaining the requisite licenses or approval, conducted securities business, public fund sales business and futures business in mainland China.” The letter further states the CSRC “proposes to order the Related Companies to rectify or cease such activities, confiscate illegal gains, and impose fines, with the total proposed penalty amounting to approximately RMB1.85 billion (approximately USD271 million).” Further, the regulatory authority “proposes to impose a personal fine of RMB1.25 million (approximately USD 183,575) on Mr. LI Hua, the founder and CEO of the Company.”

On this news, Futu’s stock price fell $34.10, or 27.5%, to close at $89.76 per share on May 22, 2026, on unusually heavy trading volume.

Then, on May 28, 2026, before the market opened, Futu issued a press release reporting financial results for the first quarter 2026, including net income of HK$831.0 million (US$106.0 million) after giving effect to the proposed penalties comprised of: “(i) confiscation of illegal gains of approximately RMB470 million [approximately $69.21 million USD], and (ii) imposition of fines of approximately RMB1.38 billion, [approximately $20 billion USD] in an aggregate amount of approximately RMB1.85 billion.” The press release reported this adjustment under the Company’s financial statements as “Others, net” in its statements of comprehensive income for the applicable period.

On this news, Futu’s stock price fell $5.31, or 4.8%, to close at $104.91 on May 28, 2026, on unusually heavy trading volume.

What Is the Lawsuit About?

The complaint filed in this class action alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements, as well as failed to disclose material adverse facts about the Company’s business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, Defendants failed to disclose to investors that: (1) Futu was not in compliance with the requirements of the CSRC, including because the Company continued to conduct securities business, public fund sales business and futures business in mainland China without obtaining the requisite licenses or approval; (2) as a result, Futu was reasonably likely to face regulatory penalties, including the disgorgement of ill-gotten gains and other penalties; (3) as a result of the foregoing, Futu’s financial results were overstated; and (4) as a result of the foregoing, Defendants’ positive statements about the Company’s business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.

If you purchased or otherwise acquired Futu securities during the Class Period, you may move the Court no later than August 25, 2026 to request appointment as lead plaintiff in this putative class action lawsuit.

Can Rising Demand From AI and Data Centers Benefit NANO Nuclear?
NNE Nano Nuclear Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways NANO Nuclear is developing compact microreactors for reliable, carbon-free, off-grid power.NNE could benefit as AI and hyperscale data centers seek dedicated 24/7 clean electricity.NRC review of KRONOS MMR permits, policy support and clean power demand aid NNE's prospects. NANO Nuclear Energy (NNE - Free Report) is an emerging advanced nuclear technology company developing compact microreactors designed to deliver reliable, carbon-free electricity. Unlike traditional nuclear plants, its portable reactor designs target remote communities, industrial facilities, military installations and other critical infrastructure that require dependable off-grid power. Beyond reactor development, the company is expanding into nuclear fuel transportation, fuel services and consulting, creating a broader platform to support growth across the nuclear energy ecosystem.

NANO Nuclear's microreactor technology is well positioned to benefit from rising electricity demand driven by decarbonization and electrification. These small modular reactors can provide continuous baseload power with a limited land footprint while complementing renewable energy sources. Their modular design also has the potential to shorten construction timelines and lower deployment costs, making them an attractive clean energy solution.

The rapid growth of artificial intelligence and hyperscale data centers represents a significant long-term opportunity. AI infrastructure requires large amounts of uninterrupted electricity, prompting technology companies to seek reliable, carbon-free power sources. NANO Nuclear's microreactors could provide dedicated, around-the-clock electricity for data centers, easing pressure on aging power grids while supporting corporate sustainability goals.

Although still in the development stage, the company has made encouraging regulatory progress. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has begun formal review activities for the KRONOS MMR construction permit application, with environmental and safety reviews scheduled through 2027. Combined with supportive government policies, increasing investment in advanced nuclear technology and growing demand for zero-emission power, this regulatory momentum strengthens NANO Nuclear's long-term commercialization prospects.

Is SpaceX Stock a Buy Before July 7?
SPCX SpaceX
FMP Stock News
Original source text
On July 7, Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX 7.71%), better known as SpaceX, is set to begin trading as a member of the Nasdaq-100. Inclusion into major stock market indexes often triggers automatic buying from institutional funds that track these benchmarks -- potentially boosting stock prices in the short term.

Let's explore how chasing event-driven momentum usually distracts investors from the deeper fundamentals that truly matter for long-term wealth generation.

What is the Nasdaq-100? The Nasdaq-100 is a stock market index comprised of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange. Inclusion in a major index usually leads to increased trading, broader analyst coverage, and passive investment inflows from exchange-traded funds. For SpaceX, this achievement underscores its transition into a major publicly traded company and signals mainstream acceptance of its role across the aerospace and technology industries.

Why event-driven buying is dangerous Since going public last month, SpaceX has exhibited significant volatility. Investors relying solely on the news around the Nasdaq-100 inclusion risk buying shares at an inflated price driven by temporary enthusiasm.

Index inclusions may lead to gains in the short term, but these rises are usually followed by sharp corrections once traders take their profits. These dynamics highlight the speculative nature of timing your purchases around singular catalysts.

Always keep a long-term mindset Deciding whether to invest in SpaceX stock should be rooted in conviction around the company's ambitions in space exploration, expanding low-orbit satellite networks, and building artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. These segments represent transformative opportunities that could generate meaningful growth over the coming decades.

However, approaching SpaceX -- or any stock -- through a trading mindset that attempts to front-run momentum events ultimately diverges from prudent, disciplined investing principles focused on long-term potential rather than fleeting catalysts. While SpaceX's inclusion in the Nasdaq-100 is noteworthy, it is not enough to justify an immediate buy.

4 Lessons for Future OpenAI and Anthropic Investors, Following SpaceX's Historic IPO
SPCX SpaceX
FMP Stock News
Original source text
SpaceX (SPCX 7.71%), the aerospace and AI company founded by Elon Musk, went public on June 12 at a valuation of $1.77 trillion, making it the largest IPO in history. It went public at $135 per share, started trading at $150, and hit a record high of $225.64 on June 16.

But as of this writing, SpaceX's stock trades at about $160. Many investors who hopped on the bandwagon in its first four days are now underwater. That volatile market debut should teach investors four valuable lessons about hot IPOs like SpaceX -- and how they should approach OpenAI and Anthropic, two of the market's most eagerly anticipated AI IPOs, in the future.

1. Valuations matter When SpaceX went public, it was already valued at 95 times its 2025 revenue of $18.7 billion. At its peak market cap of $2.66 trillion, it was valued at 142 times its trailing sales. Those were sky-high valuations, even for a company that grew its revenue by 33% in 2025. As of this writing, SpaceX is worth $2.1 trillion, or 112 times last year's sales.

OpenAI was most recently valued at $852 billion, and its founders hope to go public with a market cap of $1 trillion. That would be 50 times its annualized revenue run rate of $20 billion at the end of 2025, making it seem more reasonably valued than SpaceX.

Anthropic, valued at $965 billion after its latest funding round, only had an annualized revenue run rate of $9 billion at the end of 2025. If it's also targeting a $1 trillion IPO, it would debut at 111 times its annualized revenue -- making it more comparable to SpaceX.

2. Profits matter SpaceX was actually profitable in 2025, as Starlink's profits offset its space division's losses. But this year, it acquired xAI (which owns Grok and X) in an all-stock acquisition before its IPO. After recasting its 2025 financials to account for that acquisition, it became deeply unprofitable. The critics claimed that Musk was bailing out xAI at the expense of SpaceX's shareholders.

OpenAI and Anthropic -- which are both unprofitable -- will also be closely scrutinized when they go public. OpenAI is still racking up steep losses, but Anthropic's rapid expansion in the enterprise market (with tools like Claude Code) is quickly reducing its operating losses. Anthropic even expects to post its first adjusted operating profit this year.

So even though Anthropic might go public at a higher price-to-sales ratio than OpenAI, its clearer path toward profitability might attract more investors. OpenAI, which posted a net loss of $38.5 billion on just $13.1 billion in revenue in calendar 2025, faces a tougher uphill battle.

3. The float matters SpaceX floated just 4% of its shares in its IPO. That low supply, along with the market's record demand, fueled its initial rally. It also enabled Elon Musk, who still holds a voting stake of up to 85% through his super-voting shares, to maintain firm control of the company.

In other words, investors are paying a premium to own a tiny sliver of SpaceX and never have a voice in its business decisions. SpaceX will also continue to dilute those investors by issuing more shares to cover its acquisitions and stock-based compensation expenses.

OpenAI and Anthropic plan to follow the same playbook by floating 5%-10% of their shares. Therefore, both stocks could experience volatile market debuts -- and investors shouldn't expect any big institutional investors to sway their business strategies.

4. Retail investors matter Last but not least, we should see if OpenAI and Anthropic deliberately offer their shares to retail investors. SpaceX offered more than 20% of its shares directly to retail investors, generating significant market hype among smaller investors ahead of its market debut.

Some investors might think that SpaceX was "democratizing" the IPO process by allocating more shares to retail brokerages. Still, I believe it was to offset the lower demand from institutional investors who were wary of paying nearly 100 times sales for an unprofitable company. Investors should be cautious if OpenAI and Anthropic do the same thing.

While I Like SpaceX, Here's Why I'm Not Buying Its Stock Yet
SPCX SpaceX
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX 7.71%) is undeniably a category leader. The company's rocket-launching services dominate the market, and its satellite internet and mobile services are also clear-cut frontrunners in markets with significant long-term growth potential. In addition to those very promising positions, the company is also a compelling player in the artificial intelligence (AI) processing market and is ramping up investments to become a top competitor in the category.

And yet, I'm not ready to buy the stock. Here's why.

SpaceX undeniably has a lot of promise SpaceX provides bleeding-edge technologies across multiple categories. The company revolutionized rocketry by developing launch-and-land rockets that can be reused for subsequent missions. Thanks to these capabilities, the company has been able to provide launch services to third-party customers at very cost-effective price points. The company accounted for roughly 51% of total global orbital launches last year and 85% of total satellite launches.

The company's launch capabilities also give it huge advantages in the satellite-based mobile and internet services space. SpaceX's Starlink platform is a leading provider in these categories, and the company's strengths in launch technologies mean it can get communications satellites into space at prices that competitors will likely struggle to match for a long time.

Along with its rocket launch and satellite communication technologies, SpaceX is also rapidly expanding its position in the AI processing market. Of the $28.5 trillion total addressable market (TAM) outlined in the company's initial public offering (IPO) prospectus, management estimates that $26.5 trillion of that TAM comes from AI technologies and services. SpaceX's goal of building a massive constellation of orbital data centers looks highly ambitious and comes with a range of technological challenges, but the company that solved the challenges involved with reusable rockets is arguably the one best positioned to make large-scale, space-based AI processing a reality.

SpaceX's tech is incredible, but that doesn't mean the stock is right now SpaceX has already delivered revolutionary technologies, and I think there's a good chance its capabilities will play a significant role in advancing key tech trends through the next decade and beyond. The company has achieved laudable breakthroughs and scaling initiatives, and I think it would be a mistake to bet against it continuing to advance its forefront positions at the edges of highly influential tech trends. On the other hand, there is still the question of valuation.

With a market capitalization of roughly $2.07 trillion, the company is valued at roughly 111 times the $18.7 billion in revenue it recorded last year. Admittedly, SpaceX will likely see a meaningful acceleration for its sales growth this year -- with major AI compute deals with Alphabet and other customers aiding its revenue expansion, and strong support for its Starlink and rocket launching businesses also adding to growth.

On the other hand, spending also looks poised to ramp dramatically going forward -- and I think risks related to interest rates and the overall macroeconomic backdrop make SpaceX's valuation profile too risky in the current environment.

SpaceX has an AI device prototype, and it sure sounds phone-ish
SPCX SpaceX
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Elon Musk’s SpaceX has shown investors a prototype of a “handset-like” AI device, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The prototype is reportedly sleeker and slimmer than an iPhone, making us wonder if it’s something between a small touchscreen phone and a Rabbit R1. SpaceX reportedly showed the device to investors and stakeholders before it went public, and told them it’s at an early enough stage that the design could still change.

Musk has denied the reporting, calling it “utterly false.”

SpaceX, alongside sister company Tesla, does have the manufacturing expertise to pull off mass producing a bunch of AI devices — not to mention access to the chips needed to power any on-device compute. SpaceX has also signaled that it’s keen to expand into wireless, with Starlink Mobile as a potential competitor to Verizon and AT&T. One analyst even went as far as to speculate that T-Mobile or AT&T would make fine acquisition targets for the rocket builder, though such a purchase would, undoubtedly, be pricey.

It’s also not clear if SpaceX is just throwing spaghetti at the wall or if it will attempt to really mass produce and market such a device. But one thing that seems clearer is that if OpenAI is doing it, Musk would, perhaps, want to try to do it better.

As we know, OpenAI is working with Apple’s former chief design officer Jony Ive on an AI device that CEO Sam Altman has claimed will be more peaceful than an iPhone. Reports from last autumn suggest the company has been struggling to get the details right, and OpenAI recently brought on another Apple executive to potentially help move things along. News dropped last week that Paul Meade, Apple’s VP in charge of the Vision Pro headset, has joined OpenAI’s hardware team.

Like OpenAI, SpaceX’s prototype is reportedly designed to run on a proprietary operating system and integrate technology from xAI, Musk’s AI company that SpaceX acquired earlier this year. This would prevent these new devices from being trapped inside another company’s platforms (like Google’s Android). But also, the intent appears to also be to create something new, with native AI interfaces. That said, the graveyard is crowded with the unsuccessful launches of AI devices from companies like Humane and Rabbit. A company wanting to sell an AI device, does not equate consumers wanting to buy such a thing. Yet.

SpaceX Faces Post-IPO Volatility, Yet Wall Street Predicts Significant Stock Price Gains
SPCX SpaceX
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways SpaceX's stock has seen volatility since the company's IPO nearly three weeks ago, but analysts project significant long-term growth.Analysts highlight the Starship reusable rocket as a pillar of the company's future success, and point to growing AI revenue and the potential for acquisitions as additional reasons for optimism.Risks include high cash burn and reliance on aggressive growth assumptions for future success. Get personalized, AI-powered answers built on 27+ years of trusted expertise.

Wall Street is starting to size up SpaceX (SPCX), and the stock is getting stellar reviews.

Analysts who have launched coverage of the stock since the company's IPO have said SpaceX stands to become "a major hyperscaler" and "the largest communications, cloud and AI company in the world." That positivity isn't translating into gains today—the stock was down 7% at $159 in recent trading—but Wall Street sees plenty of room for gains.

The average price target from three firms that have initiated coverage of the stock recently stands at $203. While well below the $225 all-time high hit two weeks ago, it's more than 25% above current levels, and 35% higher than the opening price for SpaceX shares when they began trading on June 12.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO YOU Elon Musk's space exploration, connectivity and AI company is now a part of major benchmark indexes and the funds that track them, and will be joining some more, which means the stock's performance is likely represented in your retirement account.

The latest bullish view was delivered Tuesday by analysts at Wedbush led by Dan Ives, who initiated coverage of SpaceX with an "outperform" rating and a price target of $190.1 That target is derived from revenue estimates for 2028, which is expected to be the first year that all three of SpaceX's businesses scale.

They view SpaceX's spacecraft and rocket called Starship as "the essential layer" driving the company's success. Its reusability is a strategic advantage from a cost perspective, but also generates a "feedback loop" through which the company can improve its flight rates without driving up capital expenditures, according to Ives and his team. They add that without it, the company's broadband business Starlink would not have reached the scale it has so far, and that SpaceX's ambitions to build orbital data centers would otherwise not be "feasible."

Oppenheimer's Timothy Horan started coverage on the stock on June 11, prior to the company's IPO, with an "Outperform" rating and a $190 price target. A week later, the firm raised the target to $250 following SpaceX's acquisition of AI startup Cursor.2 Horan's models suggest that Cursor revenue will hit $6 billion by the end of this year, raising SpaceX's AI business revenue by 84% to $8.75 billion in the fourth quarter.

Horan expects more acquisitions. SpaceX could, for example, partner with a large language model company such as Anthropic, with the existing lease for the AI shop to use the company's Colossus data center representing the "seed of a deeper relationship." He also thinks the company could buy additional power or data centers on earth, and even acquire its way into becoming a mobile operator given its existing broadband business.

The main risk to SpaceX's otherwise rosy future is that it runs out of money before it reaches its ambitious goals. "Cash burn means the thesis can expire," Ives and his team said in the report. "The bull case requires conviction that the burn converts into a durable franchise before the capital runs ahead of the proof."

Susquehanna Investment Group's Charles Minervino started coverage on June 23 with a "Neutral" rating, and a price target of $170.3 Though the analyst acknowledged the company's dominance in launching rockets, Starlink's "significant runway," its AI offering, and a "proven operator" in Musk, he also said that the company stock—which was then trading around $150—required "premium multiples on very aggressive revenue and EBITDA growth assumptions."

"With some of the markets that SPCX operates in being relatively unproven, we believe a wide range of outcomes exist," Minervino wrote. "This introduces quite a bit of risk into future expectations and therefore would recommend waiting for a better entry point on the stock."

Apple's AI Expansion Aims to Boost Services Momentum: What's Ahead?
AAPL Apple
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Apple is using AI across Creator Studio, services and hardware to support revenue growth.Apple's Services revenues rose 14% to $30.98B in fiscal Q2, making up 27.9% of sales.AAPL shares are up 6.4% YTD, trailing the sector's 15.7%, while trading at a premium valuation. Apple (AAPL - Free Report) is increasingly leveraging AI as a core driver of revenue growth across its services and hardware businesses. Management is positioning Apple Intelligence as deeply integrated into the company’s ecosystem rather than as a standalone AI product. The company recently introduced major updates to Apple Creator Studio, expanding AI-powered capabilities across its creative applications for Mac, iPad and iPhone. The enhancements strengthen integration between apps, allowing users to seamlessly edit images across Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro, while Logic Pro gains new music creation tools.

Final Cut Pro now features AI-powered Generate Captions, Edit Detection and Auto Mask, enabling automatic subtitle creation, clip reconstruction and precise subject selection for faster video editing. Additional improvements include enhanced Match Color, Advanced Trimming and new Creator Themes. Motion, Compressor and Final Cut Camera also receive updates that improve animation workflows, immersive video support and professional video capture.

Pixelmator Pro now integrates more deeply with Apple’s productivity apps, enabling direct image editing, AI-powered image generation, vector shape creation and access to a curated Content Hub. Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform also gain new productivity features. Meanwhile, Logic Pro introduces a more accurate Chord ID, a new Producer Project, enhanced Alchemy synthesis capabilities and expanded Beat Breaker tools, offering musicians more powerful and intelligent music production workflows.

Last month, Apple launched new features for services users, including improved Flyover views and Local Lists in Apple Maps, flexible sharing options in Find My, the ability to use Visual Intelligence to split bills with Apple Cash, video podcast support across Mac and tvOS, revamped Shared Albums in iCloud, and a new program for Apple Fitness+. These, along with major updates to Apple Creator Studio, are expected to drive the Services business. In the second quarter of fiscal 2026, Services revenues grew 14% year over year to $30.98 billion and accounted for 27.9% of sales. For the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Apple expects revenues to grow 14% to 17% year over year, with Services expected to rise at a similar pace after adjusting for foreign exchange.

Apple Faces Stiff CompetitionAAPL is facing stiff competition from the likes of Alphabet (GOOGL - Free Report) and Microsoft (MSFT - Free Report) in AI. Alphabet and Microsoft are demonstrating significantly stronger near-term AI monetization and infrastructure execution than Apple. This has spooked investors as concerns continue to grow that Apple risks falling behind in the generative AI race despite its large ecosystem and hardware advantages.

Both Alphabet and Microsoft are already translating AI adoption into accelerating revenue growth across core businesses. In the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Microsoft reported that its AI business surpassed a $37 billion annual revenue run rate, growing 123% year over year. AI is driving Alphabet’s Search & Other revenues, which grew 19% year over year in the first quarter of 2026. Gemini Enterprise’s paid monthly active users grew 40% sequentially, while revenues from products built on Google’s generative AI models increased nearly 800% year over year. Alphabet’s total paid subscriptions reached 350 million, driven in part by Gemini app adoption and premium AI plans.

Meta-driven sell-off in CoreWeave stock makes no sense: here's why
FB Meta Platforms
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors are bailing on CoreWeave CRWV shares on July 1 following news that Meta Platforms (META) is building an internal cloud infrastructure business dubbed “Meta Compute”.

The sell-off stems mostly from fears that a resourceful name like Meta may soon become a CRWV rival, but a deeper dive suggests it overlooks several operational and market realities.

There’s a strong case to be made that CoreWeave stock is overreacting to the Meta Compute news, and the pullback is actually an opportunity for long-term investors to load up on a quality name at a discount.

For starters, Meta is reportedly only looking at external sales as a safety valve if it overbuilds. The firm’s core business remains driving engagement, ad revenue, and its own consumer AI tools (like Muse Spark).

Meta Platforms will always prioritize its own sprawling training workloads; the moment a massive new internal model needs training, it will reclaim its compute.

And serious enterprise clients and AI firms can’t build stable, long-term products on spare capacity that could be throttled or pulled back whenever Meta’s internal needs spike.

CoreWeave Inc – by contrast – offers dedicated, SLA-backed, contractually guaranteed sovereign infrastructure.

In short, META’s intent is monetizing excess capacity, not becoming a pure-play neocloud, which makes CRWV shares’ dip worth buying on Wednesday.

CoreWeave shares are being sold off today as if Meta is about to pull its business from the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure firm.

But in reality, the $21 billion deal it signed in April runs through 2032. These hyperscale data center contracts are notorious for their ironclad, take-or-pay structures.

Even if META builds its own cloud commercialization business, they are “legally” and financially obligated to fulfill its multi-billion-dollar commitments to CRWV.

Simply put, the Nasdaq-listed firm’s near-to-mid-term revenue visibility from Meta remains rather intact.

Wall Street remains bullish on CoreWeave IncInvestors should also note that renting out raw GPUs requires an entirely different software stack, enterprise sales force, and compliance infrastructure than running a consumer social network.

Fortune 500 companies are incredibly sensitive about data privacy. So they may not be comfortable hosting proprietary data or training confidential models on the infrastructure of an ad-tech titan like Meta.

In contrast, CoreWeave has spent years perfecting its “proprietary” orchestration software, custom networking topologies, and bare-metal performance optimized strictly for artificial intelligence.

Meta Platforms has a world-class infrastructure team, but turning an internal network into a secure, multi-tenant enterprise public cloud takes years of friction. This further suggests CRWV stock is attractive to load up on the pullback today.

Note that Wall Street analysts also have a consensus “Overweight” rating on CoreWeave Inc at the time of writing.

Meta Plans Cloud Business to Take on Big Tech Rivals
FB Meta Platforms
FMP Stock News
Original source text
 |

Meta is planning a cloud infrastructure business that will sell AI computing power/model access.

That’s according to a report Wednesday (July 1) by Bloomberg News, which says this move would put Meta in greater competition with cloud leaders such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

Already scrambling to secure the infrastructure for its own artificial intelligence (AI) projects, Meta is now forming a business to derive revenue from surplus computing power sold to outside customers, sources familiar with matter told Bloomberg.

PYMNTS has contacted Meta for comment but has not yet gotten a reply.

According to the Bloomberg report, the sources say one possible plan would involve offering access to various AI models hosted on Meta’s existing AI infrastructure, similar to what AWS does with its Bedrock. Meta would run the data centers and chips powering the models, charging developers to access them.

In addition, Meta is also weighing a plan to sell access to “raw” computing capacity, similar to what “neocloud businesses” like CoreWeave offer, the sources said. The project falls under the umbrella of Meta Compute, an in-house initiative to develop and oversee the company’s AI infrastructure efforts, one of the sources said.

In other artificial intelligence news, PYMNTS wrote last about the price adjustments Meta and other tech giants are making amid slowing consumer and enterprise usage.

“The consumer price cuts sit alongside a structural problem. Anthropic’s $200 Claude Code plan gives developers 20 times the usage of its base tier,” that report said.

“Power users on that plan can consume the equivalent of $600 to $1,500 worth of API-priced compute for a flat monthly fee …” PYMNTS added. “AI companies are cutting prices at the consumer level while absorbing the cost of heavy usage at the same time.”

Meta’s decision to start offering paid subscriptions “sharpens the competitive picture,” that report added. The Facebook owner has spent decades expanding on an ad-supported, free-access model. Testing a paid AI tier indicates that even it sees limits to what advertising can fund on its own. As covered here, Meta is also considering a $199.99 premium tier for its Hatch AI agent, which would place it directly alongside Anthropic and OpenAI at the peak of the market.

Research from PYMNTS Intelligence shows that more than 60% of American consumers used dedicated AI platforms in the past year. Among Gen Z and power users, use of dedicated AI platforms as a first stop for everyday tasks climbed 36% and 28% in one month.

“That acceleration in usage is exactly what makes flat-rate consumer pricing difficult to sustain,” PYMNTS wrote.

FB Meta Platforms
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META, XETRA:FB2A, SIX:FB) shares rose nearly 10% to $619.44 after a report that the company is building a cloud business to sell its excess AI computing capacity.

Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter, said the move could reduce Meta's reliance on advertising and set it against the three firms that dominate cloud infrastructure. For a company that still draws almost all its revenue from ads, that would mark a significant widening of the base.

What Meta is weighing

One option under review is letting customers tap AI models hosted on Meta's own infrastructure. That would resemble Amazon Web Services' Bedrock platform, which sells access to a menu of models on a pay-as-you-go basis.

The idea is not new inside the company. Zuckerberg flagged it at Meta's annual shareholder meeting in May, saying it was "definitely on the table." He said other companies approach Meta almost every week asking to buy access to its models or spare capacity at a premium.

Selling that access would become a live option, he added, if Meta reached a point where it had overbuilt its data-centre capacity.

A hedge against overbuilding

That framing matters. It positions a cloud business less as a bold pivot than as a use for capacity Meta may otherwise leave idle. The company is pouring money into data centres, and a resale market would let it recoup some of that outlay rather than strand it.

The spending numbers behind the strategy are large. Big Tech firms are expected to spend more than $700 billion on AI infrastructure this year, up from around $400 billion in 2025. At that scale, even a modest overbuild leaves a lot of expensive silicon looking for work.

Taking on the incumbents

The move would push Meta into a contest with Amazon, Microsoft and Alphabet, the three companies that have spent a decade building the cloud market. None will cede ground easily, and Meta would arrive as a challenger rather than an equal.

The prize is a revenue stream that does not rise and fall with the advertising cycle. That is the real draw. Meta's ad business is vast but exposed to economic swings and platform shifts, and a cloud arm would give it something steadier to lean on.

Why I Can't Stop Buying Meta as Mark Zuckerberg Prepares to Hijack Polymarket and Kalshi

I keep buying Meta. Every paycheck, every dip, every time the crowd convinces itself the AI buildout has gone too far, I add more to Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META | META Price Prediction), and I have not slowed down at $550.25.

The reason is plain. Mark Zuckerberg has built the most profitable attention machine in modern business, and he is about to bolt a prediction market on top of it. Zuckerberg has ordered senior executives to explore partnerships with Polymarket and Kalshi while Meta quietly test-builds a competing standalone app codenamed Arena, designed around a video-game-style points system targeting the 18-to-34 demographic. Combined prediction market trading volume has scaled past $130 billion this year. Meta sits on 3.56 billion daily active people across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads. Pairing those two facts is what keeps my finger on the buy button.

The Data Behind the Conviction Start with the core business. Q1 2026 revenue hit $56.31 billion, up 33.1% YoY, with EPS of $10.44 against a $6.66 consensus, a 56.79% beat and the fifth straight quarter Meta cleared the bar. Ad impressions rose 19% YoY and average price per ad rose 12%, which tells me advertisers are paying more for inventory that is also expanding. That is a pricing engine working in both directions at once.

The profitability stack is rare. Gross margin sits at 81.99%, operating margin at 41.44%, return on equity at 30.24%, and return on invested capital at 20.69%. Debt-to-equity is 0.39 and interest coverage is 71.48x. This is a fortress paying a $0.53 quarterly dividend while generating $32.23 billion of operating cash flow in a single quarter.

Then there is the price. META trades at a P/E of 20 with shares down 16.5% year-to-date and 23.97% over one year from $723.76. The 52-week high was $793.65. For a company guiding Q2 2026 revenue to $58 to $61 billion, paying 20 times earnings looks like a gift the market handed me because it is squeamish about capex.

The Risk I Actually Lose Sleep Over Capex. Full-year 2026 capex was raised to $125 to $145 billion, up from prior guidance of $115 to $135 billion, to feed Meta Superintelligence Labs. Reality Labs lost $4.03 billion in Q1 alone and $19.2 billion across 2025. If AI returns arrive late or the EU and U.S. youth litigation lands hard in 2026 trials, free cash flow compresses and the stock gets punished again.

I have weighed it. Operating cash flow ran $115.80 billion in 2025, buybacks hit $26.25 billion, and management still guides 2026 operating income above 2025 levels. Zuckerberg called Q1 a milestone tied to “the release of our first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs” and said the company is “on track to deliver personal superintelligence to billions of people.” I would rather own the company funding the next decade than one defending the last one.

Why the Buy Button Stays Active Three and a half billion daily users. A 41% operating margin. A 20 P/E on five straight earnings beats. A dividend that just started compounding. And a founder-CEO preparing to wire prediction markets into the same feed that already prints $55.02 billion of quarterly ad revenue. Bears can keep arguing about capex while I keep buying the cash machine paying for it.

Will Tesla (TSLA) Beat Estimates Again in Its Next Earnings Report?
TSLA Tesla
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Have you been searching for a stock that might be well-positioned to maintain its earnings-beat streak in its upcoming report? It is worth considering Tesla (TSLA - Free Report) , which belongs to the Zacks Automotive - Domestic industry.

When looking at the last two reports, this electric car maker has recorded a strong streak of surpassing earnings estimates. The company has topped estimates by 12.50%, on average, in the last two quarters.

For the last reported quarter, Tesla came out with earnings of $0.41 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.36 per share, representing a surprise of 13.89%. For the previous quarter, the company was expected to post earnings of $0.45 per share and it actually produced earnings of $0.5 per share, delivering a surprise of 11.11%.

Price and EPS Surprise

For Tesla, estimates have been trending higher, thanks in part to this earnings surprise history. And when you look at the stock's positive Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction), it's a great indicator of a future earnings beat, especially when combined with its solid Zacks Rank.

Our research shows that stocks with the combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) or better produce a positive surprise nearly 70% of the time. In other words, if you have 10 stocks with this combination, the number of stocks that beat the consensus estimate could be as high as seven.

The Zacks Earnings ESP compares the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the quarter; the Most Accurate Estimate is a version of the Zacks Consensus whose definition is related to change. The idea here is that analysts revising their estimates right before an earnings release have the latest information, which could potentially be more accurate than what they and others contributing to the consensus had predicted earlier.

Tesla has an Earnings ESP of +2.99% at the moment, suggesting that analysts have grown bullish on its near-term earnings potential. When you combine this positive Earnings ESP with the stock's Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), it shows that another beat is possibly around the corner.

When the Earnings ESP comes up negative, investors should note that this will reduce the predictive power of the metric. But, a negative value is not indicative of a stock's earnings miss.

Many companies end up beating the consensus EPS estimate, but that may not be the sole basis for their stocks moving higher. On the other hand, some stocks may hold their ground even if they end up missing the consensus estimate.

Because of this, it's really important to check a company's Earnings ESP ahead of its quarterly release to increase the odds of success. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Why Tesla stock is beating the broader market today
TSLA Tesla
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Tesla stock TSLA rose on Wednesday as investors positioned ahead of the electric-vehicle maker's closely watched second-quarter delivery report.

Improving European sales data supported sentiment on Wednesday despite broader weakness across technology stocks.

Shares of Tesla gained in early trading even as much of the technology sector moved lower. The stock was up around 2%.

The broader market was mixed. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 88 points.

Technology stocks were under pressure, with Micron falling 6%, Sandisk dropping 8%, Nvidia losing roughly 2%, and Broadcom declining about 1%. SpaceX shares also fell more than 6%.

Tesla is scheduled to report second-quarter vehicle deliveries on Thursday, a release that could prove pivotal for investor sentiment after several years of slowing growth.

Wall Street estimates vary considerably.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect Tesla to deliver approximately 409,000 vehicles during the quarter.

Bloomberg's consensus estimate is closer to 400,000 vehicles, while Tesla's own company-compiled consensus stands at roughly 406,000 units.

The wide range of forecasts highlights uncertainty around demand trends during a quarter shaped by geopolitical tensions, elevated fuel prices, and the continued impact of changes to US electric-vehicle incentives.

A stronger-than-expected result could mark Tesla's second consecutive quarter of year-over-year delivery growth.

The company has not achieved back-to-back quarters of annual delivery growth since 2024.

Growth remains a key challengeTesla's vehicle business has faced a difficult period following years of rapid expansion.

Annual deliveries peaked at approximately 1.8 million vehicles in 2023 before declining in both 2024 and 2025.

Wall Street currently expects Tesla to return to modest growth in 2026, with annual deliveries projected at roughly 1.7 million vehicles.

Several factors have contributed to the slowdown.

Tesla elected not to pursue an all-new lower-priced vehicle platform, instead prioritizing development of its Cybercab robotaxi program.

The company has also faced the impact of the expiration of the $7,500 federal electric-vehicle purchase tax credit, which increased costs for many US consumers.

At the same time, rising gasoline prices provided some support for electric-vehicle demand during the second quarter.

Adding to optimism ahead of the delivery report, new data released Wednesday showed Tesla registrations continued to improve across several European markets during June.

Registrations, which are widely viewed as a proxy for sales, rose 39% in Denmark, 56% in Sweden, and 5.6% in Spain, according to data from bilstatistik.dk, Mobility Sweden, and ANFAC.

In France, registrations more than doubled from a year earlier, according to automotive industry body PFA.

The figures suggest Tesla's European business may be recovering after a challenging period during which the company lost market share amid growing competition from Chinese manufacturers, a relatively limited product lineup, and consumer reactions to Chief Executive Elon Musk's political positions.

Norway was a notable exception. Tesla registrations there fell 43% from a year earlier, according to data from compiler OFV.

Market observers attributed part of the decline to demand being pulled forward ahead of changes to electric-vehicle incentives scheduled for 2026.

Investors have increasingly positioned for a stronger quarter.

Heading into Wednesday's session, Tesla shares had gained 10.8% during the week following consecutive advances on Monday and Tuesday.

The rally suggests investors expect the company to deliver results that support the narrative of stabilizing vehicle demand, even as much of Tesla's long-term valuation remains tied to future opportunities in autonomous driving, robotaxis, and artificial intelligence.

With delivery estimates spread across a wide range and expectations elevated following the recent share-price gains, Thursday's report is likely to be a significant catalyst for the stock.

Tesla's Margin Expansion vs. Rivian's R2 Bet: Two Paths to EV Dominance, One Winner
TSLA Tesla
FMP Stock News

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA | TSLA Price Prediction) and Rivian (NASDAQ: RIVN) both posted Q1 2026 results that beat Wall Street estimates, yet the businesses underneath are on opposite ends of the EV maturity curve.

Tesla flexed margin expansion and AI ambition. Rivian leaned on partnerships and a fresh product launch to bridge to profitability. Comparing them now, with R2 shipping and Robotaxi rides live in Texas, finally feels useful.

Margins Carry Tesla. R2 Carries Rivian. Tesla pulled in $22.387 billion in revenue, up 15.78% YoY, with automotive gross margin expanding to 21.1% from 16.2%. Lower material costs, a higher average selling price, and a roughly $0.9 billion FX tailwind did the heavy lifting. Services and Other revenue jumped 42% as active FSD subscriptions hit 1.28 million, up 51%. Software is becoming a real, material line item.

Rivian delivered 10,365 vehicles, a 20% jump, and revenue of $1.381 billion. The catch: the automotive segment swung to a $62 million gross loss from a $92 million profit a year earlier, hurt by a $100 million drop in regulatory credits and a heavier commercial van mix.

Software and Services climbed 49% to $473 million, almost entirely thanks to the Volkswagen joint venture work. CEO RJ Scaringe framed the quarter around the R2 launch and the $4.5 billion DOE loan for the Georgia plant.

Self-Funded Empire vs. Partnership-Funded Bet Lens Tesla Rivian Cash on hand $44.74B $4.83B (with committed funding) Q1 Free Cash Flow +$1.44B -$1.08B Autonomy bet FSD + Robotaxi in Dallas/Houston Up to 50,000 R2 robotaxis for Uber Robotics bet Optimus (1M/yr Fremont line) Mind Robotics (deconsolidated) Tesla is building its own semiconductor fab with SpaceX and ramping LFP cells in Nevada.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Tesla didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

Rivian is leaning on a $1 billion VW equity check, a $1.25 billion Uber commitment through 2031, and a DOE loan that does not start drawing until early 2027. Two very different risk profiles.

The Next Test Is R2 Volume and FSD Conversion Rivian guided to 62,000 to 67,000 deliveries and adjusted EBITDA between -$2.10 billion and -$1.80 billion. The R2 bill of materials is expected to land at roughly 50% of R1, which is the entire profitability thesis.

Tesla offered no formal guidance, but Cybercab pilot production, Megapack 3, and the EU rollout of FSD are the catalysts I am tracking. Prediction markets currently skew toward a strong Q2 delivery print.

Why I Lean Tesla for Compounding, Rivian for the Lottery Ticket Personally, I find Tesla’s setup more defensible. A 345 trailing P/E is uncomfortable, and the stock is down 8.42% year to date, but the combination of expanding auto margins, growing FSD subscriptions, and a self-funded AI roadmap is hard to replicate.

Rivian intrigues me as a turnaround. Shares trade near $16.81, and if R2 hits its cost targets, the upside is large. I would still want one clean quarter of automotive gross profit before sizing it as anything more than a speculative slice. If input costs spike or EV credits get cut, I would step back from both.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Tesla didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

38.6% of Berkshire Hathaway's $328 Billion Portfolio Is Parked in 3 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stocks
KO Coca-Cola
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Warren Buffett is one of the world's most iconic investors. He acquired a controlling stake in a struggling textiles manufacturer called Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA +0.64%)(BRKB +0.27%) in 1965, and turned it into a holding company for his various investments. By the time he stepped away from the CEO role at the end of 2025, it was a $1 trillion conglomerate with numerous subsidiaries and a $328 billion stock portfolio.

Berkshire stock returned 19.7% annually during Buffett's 60-year tenure, meaning that an investment of $1,000 in 1965 would have grown to $48 million by the end of 2025. The conglomerate's new CEO, Greg Abel, worked with Buffett for over two decades before taking the reins, so he's likely to adopt a similar focus on companies with steady growth, reliable earnings, and strong management teams.

Chasing momentum was never part of Buffett's philosophy, so you typically won't find Berkshire piling into artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. However, at least three of the conglomerate's current holdings are using AI to supercharge their existing businesses, and Abel has aggressively added to one of them this year at a very attractive price.

The three stocks account for over one-third of the value of Berkshire's entire portfolio. Here they are.

1. Alphabet: 8.8% of Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio Alphabet (GOOG +0.87%)(GOOGL +0.64%) is the parent company of Google, YouTube, Waymo, DeepMind, and more. Berkshire initially bought this stock in the third quarter of 2025, but it has more than quadrupled its position under Abel's leadership this year. Alphabet is now Berkshire's fifth-largest holding, with a portfolio weighting of 8.8%.

Alphabet is a leader in the rapidly growing AI industry. It has embedded the technology into its flagship Google Search platform with features like AI Overviews and AI Mode that give users faster access to the information they are looking for. Then there is Google Cloud, which provides access to a raft of tools -- from computing capacity to ready-made large language models -- to help other businesses deploy AI software.

Google Search and Google Cloud produced revenue growth of 19% and 63%, respectively, during the first quarter of 2026. Both of those growth rates have accelerated for multiple quarters in a row, thanks to AI, which is a big reason why Alphabet stock has almost doubled over the last 12 months.

Nevertheless, with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of just 25.7, Alphabet stock is still trading at a discount to the Nasdaq-100 technology index, which has a P/E of 34.1. Therefore, it appears Berkshire snagged a pretty good deal.

2. Coca-Cola: 10.1% of Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio Coca-Cola (KO 0.22%) is one of Berkshire's oldest positions. Buffett spent $1.3 billion to accumulate 400 million shares in the beverage giant between 1988 and 1994, and Berkshire still hasn't sold a single one. Today, that position is worth a whopping $33 billion, and it paid Berkshire $816 million in dividends last year alone.

Coca-Cola sells products from 200 brands in more than 200 countries around the world. While it doesn't sound like a technology company, becoming a market leader in the hypercompetitive beverage industry requires more than just tasty sodas and snacks. AI is currently a huge part of Coca-Cola's strategy, helping optimize everything from supply chains and manufacturing processes to even marketing campaigns.

In 2024, the company signed a commitment to spend $1.1 billion on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform over five years, tapping tools such as the Copilot virtual assistant and OpenAI's large language models. If AI makes Coca-Cola more efficient over the long term, it could translate into strong returns and perhaps even higher dividends for shareholders like Berkshire.

Berkshire Hathaway plowed roughly $38 billion into Apple (AAPL +1.78%) stock between 2016 and 2023. At the start of 2024, that position was worth over $170 billion and accounted for more than half the value of the conglomerate's entire portfolio. To cash in some gains and reduce risk, Berkshire has since sold around three-quarters of its Apple stake, but the iPhone maker still has a portfolio weighting of 19.7%.

For the last few years, Apple has fitted its iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers with specialized chips designed to run its Apple Intelligence suite of AI features and software apps. Apple Intelligence can help write text messages and emails, and it can also learn to prioritize certain notifications based on user preference. It even includes an upgraded version of Siri, which is now smarter than ever.

Apple is positioned to become the world's largest distributor of AI software to consumers, thanks to its installed base of more than 2.5 billion active devices worldwide. If it succeeds, Berkshire could still reap extraordinary returns even from its heavily reduced position.

Meet the High-Yield Dividend King Stock That's Crushing the S&P 500 in 2026. Here's Why It's a Buy in July.

As the clichéd disclaimer reminds us, past performance is no guarantee of future results. Past performance is, however, a pretty good indication of what to reasonably expect in the future, particularly when the underlying reasons for that performance are likely to remain in place for a while.

Enter beverage behemoth Coca-Cola (KO 0.22%), which has performed very well all year long, and outright defied recent market weakness. Year to date, Coke's stock is up nearly 20% versus the S&P 500's (^GSPC +0.02%) meager gain of 8%.

Don't be surprised to see a similar performance disparity during the latter half of the year, either.

Resilience in the brewing storm Coca-Cola owns Sprite, Powerade, Dasani, and, of course, its well-loved namesake carbonated beverage, just to name a few of its brands. In addition to being a brilliant marketing machine, it's also just a big company, able to leverage this size to get its products placed prominently on store shelves, and then drive consumers to those shelves in droves. That's a big part of the reason this ticker's been such a reliable long-term performer.

Perhaps the (far) more important reason Coca-Cola shares are crushing the broad market this year, however, is the kind of stock -- and company -- it is compared to most of the other names that have dominated headlines for a while now. That's artificial intelligence stocks, of course, and their close cousins. Although they've been all the rage since 2023, the market's finally starting to question their value and the spending by their underlying companies. Analysts are drawing parallels to the dot-com crash of 2000, and reasonably so. Investors are slowly but surely shifting from offense to defense, and Coca-Cola fits the bill perfectly.

This makes sense, of course. Although persistent inflation is making money tight for everyone, consumers' favorite beverages remain an affordable, familiar comfort when other treats may be priced out of reach. To this end, Coca-Cola's Q1 sales volume grew 3% year over year, producing a 10% improvement in revenue that affirms its pricing power is stronger than the impact of inflation. Profit margins widened, too. And analysts are looking for similar progress through the remainder of this year and next.

Arguably more than anything else right now, however, a stake in Coca-Cola provides certainty in a market environment that offers little of it. In February, the company announced its 64th consecutive annual dividend increase, suggesting it's going to bring at least some cash-driven value to the table even if most of the major tech stocks continue losing ground. Newcomers will be plugging into a forward-looking dividend yield of 2.6%.

Lower risk, respectable reward There are no performance guarantees, of course. The broad market might begin rallying again. Coca-Cola shares might weaken if that happens, as investors readopt a "risk on" mindset.

More realistically, though, a growing number of investors are starting to sense that the advent of artificial intelligence isn't quite living up to the initial hype, potentially weighing on stocks. Moreover, as we move into the later stages of an economic boom, it's time for more defensive value stocks to shine. Few are better equipped than Coca-Cola to do so. The stock's recent gains say most investors agree.

Will Alphabet (GOOGL) Beat Estimates Again in Its Next Earnings Report?
GOOGL Alphabet
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Looking for a stock that has been consistently beating earnings estimates and might be well positioned to keep the streak alive in its next quarterly report? Alphabet (GOOGL - Free Report) , which belongs to the Zacks Internet - Services industry, could be a great candidate to consider.

This internet search leader has an established record of topping earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports. The company boasts an average surprise for the past two quarters of 51.64%.

For the last reported quarter, Alphabet came out with earnings of $5.11 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.64 per share, representing a surprise of 93.56%. For the previous quarter, the company was expected to post earnings of $2.57 per share and it actually produced earnings of $2.82 per share, delivering a surprise of 9.73%.

Price and EPS Surprise

With this earnings history in mind, recent estimates have been moving higher for Alphabet. In fact, the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction) for the company is positive, which is a great sign of an earnings beat, especially when you combine this metric with its nice Zacks Rank.

Alphabet has an Earnings ESP of +1.49% at the moment, suggesting that analysts have grown bullish on its near-term earnings potential. When you combine this positive Earnings ESP with the stock's Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), it shows that another beat is possibly around the corner.

With the Earnings ESP metric, it's important to note that a negative value reduces its predictive power; however, a negative Earnings ESP does not indicate an earnings miss.

Many companies end up beating the consensus EPS estimate, though this is not the only reason why their shares gain. Additionally, some stocks may remain stable even if they end up missing the consensus estimate.

Because of this, it's really important to check a company's Earnings ESP ahead of its quarterly release to increase the odds of success. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Alphabet Stock Price Prediction: The Forecast Points to 20% Upside

Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG | GOOG Price Prediction) is one of the cleanest bull setups in mega-cap tech right now. Cloud is compounding at 63%, operating margins are expanding, and management just committed to nearly doubling AI infrastructure spend. The stock trades at $353.33 after a 6.08% pullback over the past month, and I see that dip as an entry point.

Our 24/7 Wall St. price target for Alphabet is $425.86, implying 20.53% upside over the next 12 months. My recommendation is buy, with 90% confidence.

24/7 Wall St. Price Target Summary Metric Value Current Price $353.33 24/7 Wall St. Price Target $425.86 Upside 20.53% Recommendation BUY Confidence Level 90% A Blowout Quarter, Then a June Pullback Alphabet has nearly doubled in a year, up 99.75% over 12 months and 12.74% year to date. The stock now sits 6% below its 52-week high of $404.23 after a June cooling.

The Q1 2026 report on April 29, 2026 was the catalyst. Revenue hit $109.90 billion, up 21.8% year over year, and EPS came in at $5.11 versus a $2.63 consensus.

Google Cloud grew 63% to $20.03 billion, with backlog nearly doubling quarter over quarter to $462 billion. Recent retail sentiment took a hit on news of two top AI researchers departing to OpenAI and Anthropic, but the stock has stabilized.

Why Bulls See a Breakout Ahead The bull thesis rests on three pillars. First, cloud momentum is undeniable. Cloud operating margin expanded from 17.8% to 32.9% year over year, and revenue from products built on Gemini grew nearly 800% year over year.

Second, search is thriving. Query volume is at an all-time high, with Search revenue up 19%. Third, the ecosystem monetizes. Paid subscriptions hit 350 million, and Waymo now runs over 500,000 autonomous rides weekly.

The Street backs this up. GOOG carries 14 Strong Buy and 44 Buy ratings against zero Sells. If cloud continues to compound at 60%+ and AI monetization inflects in search, a bull case toward $443 becomes readily defensible.

The Risks Worth Watching The bear case starts with capital intensity. Alphabet raised 2026 CapEx guidance to $180 billion to $190 billion, and CFO Anat Ashkenazi said “We expect our 2027 CapEx to significantly increase compared to 2026.” Q1 free cash flow already fell 46.63% year over year.

Bulls counter that this reflects deliberate investment against unprecedented internal and external demand for AI compute resources, not deteriorating unit economics.

Other watch items: a $3.5 billion European Commission fine in Q3 2025, competitive pressure from OpenAI and Anthropic, and Q1 net income padded by $36.91 billion in unrealized equity gains that will not recur. A bearish scenario points to $344.91, roughly flat from here.

Alphabet Price Prediction 2026-2030 My 24/7 Wall St. price target of $425.86 is a buy with 90% confidence. The tipping factor is Google Cloud’s $462 billion backlog, which locks in growth visibility that no other Alphabet segment has offered before.

I’d be a buyer here if you believe cloud can sustain 40%+ growth into 2027. I’d stay sidelined if you think 2026 CapEx of $190 billion permanently caps free cash flow generation. On balance, the risk/reward favors owning it.

Year 24/7 Wall St. Price Target 2026 $425.86 2027 $478 2028 $535 2029 $580 2030 $624 These projections assume Alphabet continues executing on cloud, search, and AI monetization. Significant upside or downside could result from Waymo commercialization, regulatory action, or shifts in AI competitive positioning.

This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Pure Play Is Running a Rare "Double Down" Signal
GOOGL Alphabet
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The artificial intelligence (AI) investing space has taken a bit of a hit recently. Several stocks are selling off, and a handful of them appear to be flashing buying signals. My top AI stock pick has been Nvidia (NVDA 0.14%), and it's flashing a rare "double down" signal. What's a double down? It's when you double your initial investment because the deal has gotten so good.

I think that's what a lot of investors should do with Nvidia's stock, as it hasn't been this cheap this late in the year for a long time.

Nvidia has major growth coming again next year One of the biggest concerns in the market right now has to do with AI data center spending. This is a fair concern, as hundreds of billions of dollars are being poured into this build-out. At the start of 2026, the four major AI hyperscalers said they expected to spend about $650 billion on their combined capital expenditures in 2026. However, next year, Nvidia projects that sum will rise to $1 trillion. While some investors may be tempted to brush off that projection, the reality is that Nvidia likely can make that forecast with confidence based on the orders it already has booked for next year. Hyperscalers have already offered some support for this prediction: Alphabet (GOOG +0.96%) (GOOGL +0.64%), for instance, has told investors to expect "significantly" higher capital expenditures in 2027 compared to 2026.

That gives Nvidia investors reasons to feel optimistic about the stock, as long as all of that expected growth hasn't been priced into it already. Considering where it's valued, I think it's pretty clear that it hasn't been priced in, and that's where I found my buying signal.

From a forward earnings perspective, Nvidia now trades at the same valuation as the S&P 500 (^GSPC +0.06%): about 21.5 times forward earnings.

NVDA PE Ratio (Forward 1y) data by YCharts.

While Nvidia tends to start the year off with a fairly low forward earnings ratio, it usually gets far higher by the time July rolls around -- but not this year. Furthermore, investors know more growth is coming in 2027, and based on those projections, the stock trades at a mere 15 times 1-year forward earnings. That's a pretty compelling buying signal, and I think investors should take advantage of it. The AI sector's momentum will come back eventually, and with the next set of earnings results starting to roll out over the next few weeks, "eventually" could be fairly soon. I think that earnings season could be the catalyst that jump-starts Nvidia stock, making it a smart buy right now.

Alphabet Vs. Amazon: Alphabet's High-Margin Ad Machine Fuels AI, Amazon's Costly Retail Logistics Don't
AMZN Amazon
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL | GOOGL Price Prediction) and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) both dropped Q1 2026 results in late April. Google leaned on a high-margin ad engine and a suddenly explosive Cloud unit. Amazon leaned on faster AWS growth, a bigger chip business, and a retail machine that still eats capital for breakfast.

Search Ads Generate Cash. Retail Logistics Burns It. Google delivered $109.90B in revenue, up 21.8% YoY, with operating margin at 36.1%. Search & Other advertising alone hit $60.4 billion, up 19%, and Google Services ran at a 45.3% operating margin.

Amazon posted $181.52B in revenue but converted it into a 13.1% operating margin. AWS grew 28%, its fastest pace in 15 quarters, on a $150 billion run rate. Retail dragged the blended margin lower, the structural tax Alphabet avoids.

Driver Alphabet Amazon Main engine Search ads + Cloud AWS + Stores Op margin 36.1% 13.1% Cloud growth 63% 28% Two AI Bets, Two Very Different Bills Sundar Pichai framed the quarter around vertical integration. Cloud backlog nearly doubled sequentially to “the fact that we own frontier models and own the silicon really helps us stay ahead of the curve.”, and Cloud margin jumped to 32.9% from 17.8% a year earlier.

Andy Jassy is playing heavier. Amazon’s custom chip business runs at $20 billion with Trainium commitments over $225 billion and Anthropic locking in another $100 billion. Capex hit $44.20B in the quarter and free cash flow collapsed 95% on a trailing basis. Alphabet’s FCF fell too, down 46.6%, but from a cleaner starting point.

The Next Test Is Whether Capex Pays Back Prediction markets price Amazon 2026 capex above $200B at 0.77 probability. Alphabet raised full-year capex guidance to $180-190 billion, yet Pichai says core AI response costs already dropped more than 30% after the Gemini 3 upgrade. Efficiency compounds on one side. Fulfillment costs grow on the other.

Watch whether Google Cloud expands margin while shipping the next Gemini Pro, which Polymarket traders give an 85.9% probability of arriving by July 31. For Amazon, monitor Q2 operating income guidance of $20-24B and whether AWS holds its 28% pace.

Why Alphabet Screens Cleaner on This Quarter On this quarter’s numbers, Alphabet screens cleaner. A P/E of 16 against Amazon’s 33.01, a 45% Services margin, and a Cloud backlog that dwarfs peers is a rare combination. Amazon’s case rests on a longer runway: satellite ambitions, robotics, and a chip franchise that could rival NVIDIA. The near-term contrast is an ad machine already printing cash to fund its own AI buildout versus a retail-plus-AWS model still absorbing heavy capex.

GitLab vs. MongoDB: Which Technology Stock Is a Better Buy in 2026?
MSFT Microsoft
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Choosing between high-growth software firms requires balancing market reach against the path to profitability. We compare GitLab (GTLB +4.26%) and MongoDB (MDB +7.22%) to see which cloud-native leader is a better buy today.

GitLab provides a unified platform for software development, security, and operations. MongoDB offers a flexible database solution that handles modern, unstructured data more efficiently than traditional tables. Both are essential tools for digital transformation, yet they occupy different layers of the enterprise technology stack and trade at distinct valuation tiers.

The case for GitLabGitLab sells an orchestration platform that combines software development, security, and operations into a single application. It serves over 50 million registered users and more than half of the Fortune 100 companies. The business operates via direct sales and maintains a global partner ecosystem including cloud providers like Alphabet (GOOG +0.87%) (GOOGL +0.64%) and Amazon (AMZN +2.23%).

In FY 2026, revenue reached nearly $955.2 million, up approximately 25.8% from the previous fiscal year. While the business is expanding, it reported a net loss of close to $56.0 million for the period. This resulted in a negative net margin of roughly 5.9%, a metric that shows how much of each dollar in revenue is lost after all expenses.

As one of many tech stocks focusing on developer productivity, GitLab maintains a healthy balance sheet. As of its January 2026 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is 0.0x, meaning the company has no debt relative to shareholder equity. Free cash flow for the year was approximately $222.0 million, though stock-based compensation accounted for roughly 92.3% of operating cash flow, inflating reported cash generation.

The case for MongoDBMongoDB provides a modern database platform designed for building applications with flexible, document-based data structures. The company serves over 67,000 customers globally across various industries such as telecommunications and manufacturing. It derives more than the majority of its revenue from its Atlas database-as-a-service offering, which simplifies database management for developers.

For FY 2026, revenue reached close to $2.5 billion, representing a 22.8% increase over the prior year. Despite this scale, the firm posted a net loss of approximately $71.2 million. Its net margin improved to negative 2.9%, indicating the business is moving closer to breakeven compared with the previous year.

Based on its January 2026 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is 0.0x, and its current ratio is approximately 4.7x. The current ratio measures a company's ability to cover short-term debts with assets that can be converted to cash within a year. Free cash flow reached nearly $500.2 million.

Risk profile comparisonGitLab faces security and privacy risks as an open-source platform, particularly regarding supply-chain attacks and new AI-specific threats. The DevSecOps market is intensely competitive, featuring established players like Microsoft (MSFT +3.79%) and Atlassian (TEAM +6.66%). International operations also introduce complex legal risks regarding its China joint venture and compliance with evolving cross-border data transfer regulations.

MongoDB relies heavily on Atlas for its revenue, meaning any failure of this product to meet customer demand would impact growth. The company faces stiff competition from legacy providers such as Oracle (ORCL 2.63%) and IBM (IBM +2.24%), as well as major public cloud platforms. Additionally, its specific licensing model and vulnerability to ransomware pose ongoing operational concerns for investors.

Valuation comparisonGitLab trades at lower forward P/E and P/S ratios than MongoDB, based on its stock price relative to future earnings estimates and sales.

MetricGitLabMongoDBSector BenchmarkForward P/E35.8x51.3x36.4xP/S ratio5.1x10.3xn/aSector benchmark uses the SPDR XLK sector ETF.
Valuation metrics sourced from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) and may differ from other data providers.

Both of these companies are attractive long-term investments. They have different strengths, and as the software and technology space is rapidly evolving, a key way to rate one against the other is to consider which is adapting more efficiently. Of course, investors need to consider business fundamentals too. So, between MongoDB and GitLab, which is the better choice for 2026?

MongoDB has benefited from strong growth in its Atlas cloud service, and its artificial intelligence (AI) options are seeing increasing adoption as well. It consistently delivers revenue growth, and its profitability has been improving. And since it seems like everything happens in the cloud these days, its cloud revenue has been a steady, recurring source of income. Its valuation has been a bit high, largely driven by investor optimism about its long-term growth.

GitLab is also seeing strong growth and investing in the development of AI features for its customers to use. But it has faced intense competition from larger rivals, including Microsoft and Atlassian, limiting its pricing power. It has recently faced litigation over its joint venture with China and cross-border data transfers, which is worthy of consideration as well.

With all of this taken into consideration, MongoDB appears to offer the best opportunity for growth and profitability. Therefore, this is the stock I would choose out of this pairing.

Why is Microsoft stock gaining 4% today?
MSFT Microsoft
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Microsoft MSFT shares rose 4% on Wednesday after consumer health company Haleon announced a new five-year agreement to expand its use of Microsoft's artificial intelligence, cloud, and data technologies across its global operations.

The partnership strengthens Microsoft's position in enterprise AI adoption while the company also faces reports that it is preparing another round of job cuts as it continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Microsoft currently trades at a forward 12-month price-to-earnings ratio of 21.52 times.

Under the five-year agreement, Haleon will expand its use of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure cloud services, and Microsoft's AI systems throughout its business.

The consumer healthcare company said the technology will help automate routine tasks, improve collaboration, strengthen security, and enhance identity protection across its AI systems.

The companies also plan to jointly develop AI tools for consumer research, product development, supply chain management, and broader business operations.

Haleon said these capabilities are intended to help employees make faster decisions and accelerate the delivery of products to consumers.

The agreement builds on Haleon's existing relationship with Microsoft and supports the company's goal of reaching one billion more consumers by 2030.

For Microsoft, the deal represents another large enterprise customer adopting its AI platform, further expanding the commercial deployment of its artificial intelligence offerings.

The AI expansion comes as Microsoft is reportedly preparing to reduce its workforce.

According to a Business Insider report, the company could announce thousands of job cuts as early as next week.

The layoffs are expected to affect fewer than 2.5% of Microsoft's approximately 228,000 full-time employees.

The reported reductions would be smaller than the company's previous round of layoffs, when Microsoft eliminated roughly 4% of its workforce.

While job reductions within the Xbox division had been widely anticipated following ongoing pressure on the gaming business, the report said sales and consulting roles could also be affected.

Microsoft has not officially confirmed the reported layoffs.

The timing coincides with the end of Microsoft's fiscal year on June 30, a period when the company has historically reviewed budgets, staffing levels, and strategic priorities.

The reported workforce reductions also reflect a broader trend across the technology industry, where companies continue to trim headcount while increasing investment in AI infrastructure.

Valuation and analyst outlook remain favorableDespite falling 23% during the first half of 2026, Microsoft is increasingly being viewed as a value stock because of its earnings profile and expected revenue growth.

According to MarketWatch contributor Mark Hulbert, historical data dating back to 1947 shows that value stocks have generally outperformed growth stocks during periods of rising inflation, similar to the current economic environment.

Microsoft is expected to grow revenue at more than twice the pace of the S&P 500 through 2028, according to a MarketWatch report.

Wall Street analysts also remain broadly optimistic on the company's outlook.

According to TipRanks, 35 of 36 analysts covering Microsoft rate the stock a Buy, while one recommends Hold. None have a Sell rating.

The average 12-month price target stands at $562.10, implying about 38% upside from current levels, reflecting continued confidence in Microsoft's long-term AI strategy and enterprise software business.

Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF vs SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Growth: Which Fund Is the Better Buy?
MSFT Microsoft
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Determining whether to hold Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF (VONG 0.92%) or State Street SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Growth ETF (SLYG 0.39%) depends on whether an investor seeks large-cap technology dominance or small-cap market agility.

While both funds focus on growth, they target entirely different segments of the American equity market. VONG tracks established giants and market leaders, whereas the SPDR fund targets smaller, nimbler companies that have met specific growth and profitability criteria, creating distinct risk and return profiles for long-term investors.

VONG is the more affordable option, with a 0.06% expense ratio, offering a notable cost advantage over SLYG’s 0.15%. While SLYG has recently provided a higher payout, the yield gap between the two funds remains narrow at 0.10 percentage points.

The portfolio contains 387 holdings and is heavily concentrated in technology at 53.9%, with consumer cyclical and communication services both around 12%. Its largest positions include Nvidia (NVDA 0.14%) at 13.1%, Apple (AAPL +1.86%) at 11.9%, and Microsoft (MSFT +3.79%) at 9%. The fund was launched in 2010. Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF has paid $0.58 per share over the trailing 12 months, which, on its recent $127.8 share price, works out to a 0.5% yield.

State Street SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Growth ETF mirrors the S&P SmallCap 600 Growth Index, selecting smaller companies with robust sales expansion and market momentum. The fund holds 341 stocks, leaning toward technology at 21.2%, industrials at 18.7%, and healthcare at 14.7%. Its largest positions include Sanmina Corp (SANM 1.79%) at 1.8%, Viavi Solutions (VIAV 2.45%) at 1.3%, and Viasat Inc (VSAT 4.94%) at 1.3%. This ETF was launched in 2000. State Street SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Growth ETF has paid $0.76 per share over the trailing 12 months, which, on its recent $119.1 share price, works out to a 0.6% yield.

The State Street SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Growth ETF, SLYG, has had a great 52-week period, with its 35.3% total return about double that of the Vanguard offering. The fund has seen its price accelerate since April, reflecting the strongest quarterly performance for U.S. small-cap equities since 1991.

The Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF, meanwhile, sees its 52-week lag of SLYG due to its weighting in large-cap stocks: 88% of VONG is in large-cap stocks and just 2% in small caps. It has missed the small-cap rally because it is barely in the category.

If you’re looking for a small-cap fund to buy, the State Street fund is the pick here. But if you’re seeking the better fund regardless of strategy, then VONG wins this battle. The fund has bested SLYG over the 3-, 5-, and 10-year time frames, returning 22.5%, 13.7%, and 18.5% annualized, respectively. The State Street fund has been good, but not as good as the Vanguard ETF, returning 16.4%, 5.6% and 10.9% over the 3-year, 5-year, 10-year look-backs, respectively.

FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways AMD launched Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP SoCs with up to 32GB LPDDR5X memory in one package. The devices deliver up to 288GB/s bandwidth and cut board space requirements by as much as 60%.Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP devices are expected to begin sampling by the end of 2026. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD - Free Report) recently introduced Versal Premium Gen 2 Memory on Package (MoP) adaptive system-on-chips (SoCs), integrating up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory into a single package to deliver up to 288GB/s bandwidth while reducing board space requirements by as much as 60%. The new architecture eliminates the complexity of board-level memory design, enabling compact, high-performance systems for AI, networking, aerospace and defense, test and measurement, and professional video applications.

The new devices support PCIe 6.0, CXL 3.1 and LPDDR5X speeds of up to 9,000Mb/s, allowing seamless pairing with AMD EPYC processors and access to CXL memory expansion for data-intensive workloads. The launch of Versal Premium Gen 2 Memory on Package (MoP) adaptive SoCs strengthens AMD’s position in the fast-growing AI infrastructure market by addressing one of the biggest challenges in edge AI, networking, aerospace and defense systems, delivering higher memory bandwidth in compact, power-efficient designs. The latest solution expands AMD’s opportunities beyond hyperscale AI servers into embedded AI, telecom, defense and industrial markets.

The new MoP devices further complement AMD’s EPYC server processors through native PCIe 6.0 and CXL 3.1 connectivity, enabling customers to build scalable, memory-intensive AI platforms. This reinforces AMD’s strategy of providing a broad compute portfolio that delivers the best performance and total cost of ownership across different workloads. This brings a competitive advantage to AMD against the likes of NVIDIA (NVDA - Free Report) and Broadcom ((AVGO - Free Report) ). The EPYC processor is playing a significant role in driving AMD’s data center momentum. CEO Lisa Su noted that first-quarter data center revenues surged 57% year over year, fueled by strong EPYC and Instinct sales, while server CPU revenues climbed more than 50%.

AMD expects server CPU revenues to grow more than 70% in the second quarter, supported by rising adoption of EPYC processors. AMD is on track to launch sixth-gen EPYC Venice later in 2026, with more customers validating platforms than prior generations. AMD now aims to accelerate customer time-to-market by providing a pre-validated in-package memory interface compatible with existing Vivado and Vitis design tools. Versal Premium Gen 2 MoP devices are expected to begin sampling by the end of 2026, while standard Versal Premium Series Gen 2 devices are already shipping.

Tough Competition Hurts AMD’s ProspectsAMD’s prospects suffer from stiff competition. NVIDIA and Broadcom are major competitors in the Data Center space.

NVIDIA is at the center of AI computing, with its products widely used across data centers, gaming and autonomous vehicles. The company’s newer Hopper 200 and Blackwell GPU platforms are being adopted quickly as customers work to grow their AI infrastructure. Data Center revenues reached $75.2 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, up 92% from a year ago and up 21% sequentially, driven by the ramp-up of Blackwell 300 products and demand for InfiniBand, Spectrum-X Ethernet and NVLink solutions. NVIDIA remains AMD's primary rival in GPU-accelerated supercomputing.

Broadcom is benefiting from strong demand for its networking products and custom AI accelerators. In the second quarter of fiscal 2026, AI semiconductor revenues reached a record $10.8 billion, up 143% year over year and above management’s outlook. Broadcom expects AI semiconductor revenues to reach $16 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, up more than 200% year over year. For fiscal 2026, management expects AI semiconductor revenues of $56 billion, up approximately 180% from fiscal 2025. Broadcom also reiterated that AI semiconductor revenues are expected to exceed $100 billion in fiscal 2027.
