Why Equitable Holdings, Inc. (EQH) is a Great Dividend Stock Right Now
EQH Axa Equitable Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
All investors love getting big returns from their portfolio, whether it's through stocks, bonds, ETFs, or other types of securities. But for income investors, generating consistent cash flow from each of your liquid investments is your primary focus.

Cash flow can come from bond interest, interest from other types of investments, and, of course, dividends. A dividend is the distribution of a company's earnings paid out to shareholders; it's often viewed by its dividend yield, a metric that measures a dividend as a percent of the current stock price. Many academic studies show that dividends account for significant portions of long-term returns, with dividend contributions exceeding one-third of total returns in many cases.

Based in New York, Equitable Holdings, Inc. (EQH - Free Report) is in the Finance sector, and so far this year, shares have seen a price change of 10.7%. Currently paying a dividend of $0.30 per share, the company has a dividend yield of 2.27%. In comparison, the Insurance - Multi line industry's yield is 1.77%, while the S&P 500's yield is 1.33%.

Looking at dividend growth, the company's current annualized dividend of $1.20 is up 14.3% from last year. Over the last 5 years, Equitable Holdings, Inc. has increased its dividend 5 times on a year-over-year basis for an average annual increase of 9.67%. Looking ahead, future dividend growth will be dependent on earnings growth and payout ratio, which is the proportion of a company's annual earnings per share that it pays out as a dividend. Equitable Holdings's current payout ratio is 18%, meaning it paid out 18% of its trailing 12-month EPS as dividend.

Earnings growth looks solid for EQH for this fiscal year. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 is $7.17 per share, with earnings expected to increase 15.46% from the year ago period.

From greatly improving stock investing profits and reducing overall portfolio risk to providing tax advantages, investors like dividends for a variety of different reasons. It's important to keep in mind that not all companies provide a quarterly payout.

High-growth firms or tech start-ups, for example, rarely provide their shareholders a dividend, while larger, more established companies that have more secure profits are often seen as the best dividend options. Income investors must be conscious of the fact that high-yielding stocks tend to struggle during periods of rising interest rates. With that in mind, EQH is a compelling investment opportunity. Not only is it a strong dividend play, but the stock currently sits at a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold).

Voya Financial (VOYA) Earnings Expected to Grow: What to Know Ahead of Next Week's Release
VOYA Voya Financial
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Voya Financial (VOYA - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on lower revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook gives a good sense of the company's earnings picture, but how the actual results compare to these estimates is a powerful factor that could impact its near-term stock price.

The stock might move higher if these key numbers top expectations in the upcoming earnings report, which is expected to be released on November 2. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis retirement, investment and insurance company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $2.61 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +6.5%.

Revenues are expected to be $357.31 million, down 3.4% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 2.17% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.

Investors should keep in mind that an aggregate change may not always reflect the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts.

Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise

Earnings WhisperEstimate revisions ahead of a company's earnings release offer clues to the business conditions for the period whose results are coming out. Our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction) -- has this insight at its core.

The Zacks Earnings ESP compares the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the quarter; the Most Accurate Estimate is a more recent version of the Zacks Consensus EPS estimate. The idea here is that analysts revising their estimates right before an earnings release have the latest information, which could potentially be more accurate than what they and others contributing to the consensus had predicted earlier.

Thus, a positive or negative Earnings ESP reading theoretically indicates the likely deviation of the actual earnings from the consensus estimate. However, the model's predictive power is significant for positive ESP readings only.

A positive Earnings ESP is a strong predictor of an earnings beat, particularly when combined with a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold). Our research shows that stocks with this combination produce a positive surprise nearly 70% of the time, and a solid Zacks Rank actually increases the predictive power of Earnings ESP.

Please note that a negative Earnings ESP reading is not indicative of an earnings miss. Our research shows that it is difficult to predict an earnings beat with any degree of confidence for stocks with negative Earnings ESP readings and/or Zacks Rank of 4 (Sell) or 5 (Strong Sell).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Voya? For Voya, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +1.66%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination indicates that Voya will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Voya would post earnings of $1.88 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.51, delivering a surprise of -19.68%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates two times.

Bottom LineAn earnings beat or miss may not be the sole basis for a stock moving higher or lower. Many stocks end up losing ground despite an earnings beat due to other factors that disappoint investors. Similarly, unforeseen catalysts help a number of stocks gain despite an earnings miss.

That said, betting on stocks that are expected to beat earnings expectations does increase the odds of success. This is why it's worth checking a company's Earnings ESP and Zacks Rank ahead of its quarterly release. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Voya appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Builders FirstSource Gears Up for Q3 Earnings: What's in Store?
BLDR Builders FirstSource
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Builders FirstSource to report Q3 2026 results on Oct. 29, with the consensus EPS of $1.13, down 39.9% Y/Y.BLDR's Q3 sales are projected at $3.79 billion, down 3.8%, amid weak housing demand and competitive pricing.Acquisitions may support sales, but weaker volumes, pricing and higher fuel costs threaten Q3 profit margins. Builders FirstSource, Inc. (BLDR - Free Report) is slated to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 29, before market open.

In the last reported quarter, the company’s adjusted earnings per share (EPS) missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 9.3%, and net sales lagged the same by 1.2%. On a year-over-year basis, both the top and bottom lines tumbled 8.8% and 50.8%, respectively.

BLDR’s earnings topped the consensus mark in one of the trailing four quarters and missed on one remaining occasion, the average surprise being negative 10.7%.

Trend in Estimate Revision of BLDRThe Zacks Consensus Estimate for Builders FirstSource’s third-quarter EPS has moved south to $1.13 from $1.16 in the past 30 days. The estimated figure indicates a 39.9% year-over-year decline from EPS of $1.88 reported in the year-ago quarter.

The consensus estimate for net sales is pegged at $3.79 billion, indicating a decline of 3.8% from $3.94 billion reported in the year-ago quarter.

Factors Likely to Shape BLDR’s Quarterly ResultsNet Sales

Builders FirstSource’s third-quarter revenues are likely to have been pressured by persistent housing affordability challenges, elevated interest rates and subdued residential construction activity. Weak demand across single-family and multifamily markets, coupled with competitive pricing and commodity-price volatility, is expected to have weighed on the top line. However, the company’s focus on value-added products, integrated building solutions and strategic acquisitions is likely to have partly cushioned these headwinds in the to-be-reported quarter.

Value-added products, which accounted for approximately 46% of second-quarter 2026 sales, are likely to have remained pressured by weak single-family construction activity, lower manufactured product volumes and reduced structural content per home. Specialty Building Products & Services, representing about 27% of sales, may have benefited from the company’s diversified offerings and established customer relationships. However, lower product pricing and volumes are expected to have constrained growth. Lumber and lumber sheet goods, accounting for approximately 27% of sales, are likely to have benefited from product bundling and relative market-share resilience, although commodity-price volatility and competitive pricing may have limited revenue contributions.

Nonetheless, Builders FirstSource’s focus on value-added products and integrated building solutions is likely to have supported its competitive position. Its diversified product portfolio, installation services and bundled offerings are expected to have aided customer engagement amid the growing shift toward build-to-order homes.

Acquisitions are also likely to have supported third-quarter revenues. During the first half of 2026, the company acquired Premium Building Components and Precision Design & Trim, expanding its manufacturing and installation capabilities. With 42 acquisitions representing approximately $2.3 billion in annual sales since 2021, management expects recent acquisitions to contribute about 1% to full-year sales growth, partly offsetting weakness in the core business.

Margins

On the margin front, weaker sales volumes, unfavorable product pricing and reduced operating leverage are expected to have weighed on profitability. Elevated freight and fuel expenses are also likely to have pressured margins. Management anticipates approximately $100 million in full-year fuel-related cost pressures, with only partial recovery through surcharges and customer pricing. Although cost-saving initiatives are expected to have provided some relief, persistent demand weakness and higher operating expenses may have constrained margin recovery.

Management expects third-quarter net sales between $3.6 billion and $3.9 billion and adjusted EBITDA in the range of $275 million to $325 million, reflecting continued housing market challenges and a cautious near-term outlook.

What the Zacks Model Predicts for BLDROur proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for Builders FirstSource this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat. Unfortunately, this is not the case here, as you will see below.

BLDR’s Earnings ESP: BLDR has an Earnings ESP of -0.35%. You can uncover the best stocks before they’re reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.

Zacks Rank of BLDR: The company currently carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).

Corebridge Financial (CRBG) Reports Next Week: Wall Street Expects Earnings Growth
CRBG Corebridge Financial
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Corebridge Financial (CRBG - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on lower revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis financial services company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.22 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +27.1%.

Revenues are expected to be $4.78 billion, down 15.1% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 1.27% lower over the last 30 days to the current level.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Corebridge? For Corebridge, the Most Accurate Estimate is the same as the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that there are no recent analyst views which differ from what have been considered to derive the consensus estimate. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of 0%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Corebridge will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Corebridge would post earnings of $1.08 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.12, delivering a surprise of +3.70%.

Corebridge doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

An Industry Player's Expected ResultsAmong the stocks in the Zacks Insurance - Multi line industry, Hamilton Insurance (HG - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $0.67 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of -49.2%. This quarter's revenue is expected to be $705.83 million, up 5.7% from the year-ago quarter.

The consensus EPS estimate for Hamilton Insurance has remained unchanged over the last 30 days. However, an equal Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of 0.00%.

This Earnings ESP, combined with its Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Hamilton Insurance will beat the consensus EPS estimate. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters.

Diamondback Energy (FANG) Reports Next Week: Wall Street Expects Earnings Growth
FANG Diamondback Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The market expects Diamondback Energy (FANG - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.

The earnings report, which is expected to be released on November 2, might help the stock move higher if these key numbers are better than expectations. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis energy exploration and production company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $4.92 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +59.7%.

Revenues are expected to be $4.29 billion, up 9.5% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 21.49% higher over the last 30 days to the current level.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Diamondback? For Diamondback, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +15.28%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #2.

So, this combination indicates that Diamondback will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Diamondback would post earnings of $5.96 per share when it actually produced earnings of $6.48, delivering a surprise of +8.72%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates three times.

Diamondback appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

An Industry Player's Expected ResultsCNX Resources Corporation. (CNX - Free Report) , another stock in the Zacks Oil and Gas - Exploration and Production - United States industry, is expected to report earnings per share of $0.65 for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate points to a year-over-year change of +32.7%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $400 million, down 5.4% from the year-ago quarter.

The consensus EPS estimate for CNX Resources has been revised 8.4% higher over the last 30 days to the current level. However, a lower Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -2.91%.

When combined with a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold), this Earnings ESP makes it difficult to conclusively predict that CNX Resources will beat the consensus EPS estimate. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters.

Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both.

The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens.

Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores.

What are the Zacks Style Scores? Developed alongside the Zacks Rank, the Zacks Style Scores are a group of complementary indicators that help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.

Based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics, each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F. The better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform; an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on.

The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:

Value ScoreFor value investors, it's all about finding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value before the broader market catches on. The Value Style Score utilizes ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to help pick out the most attractive and discounted stocks.

Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time.

Momentum ScoreMomentum traders and investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." This investing style is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Employing factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, the Momentum Style Score can indicate favorable times to build a position in high-momentum stocks.

VGM ScoreWhat if you like to use all three types of investing? The VGM Score is a combination of all Style Scores, making it one of the most comprehensive indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, which helps narrow down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum.

How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank is a proprietary stock-rating model that harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to help investors build a successful portfolio.

It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.82% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.

With more than 800 top-rated stocks to choose from, it can certainly feel overwhelming to pick the ones that are right for you and your investing journey.

That's where the Style Scores come in.

To have the best chance of big returns, you'll want to always consider stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B, which will give you the highest probability of success. If you're looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, it's important they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible.

Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy.

Here's an example: a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one with Style Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings outlook, and a bigger chance its share price will decrease too.

Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.

BOOT vs. IDEXY: Which Stock Should Value Investors Buy Now?
BOOT Boot Barn Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors looking for stocks in the Retail - Apparel and Shoes sector might want to consider either Boot Barn (BOOT - Free Report) or Industria de Diseno Textil SA (IDEXY - Free Report) . But which of these two stocks presents investors with the better value opportunity right now? Let's take a closer look.

There are plenty of strategies for discovering value stocks, but we have found that pairing a strong Zacks Rank with an impressive grade in the Value category of our Style Scores system produces the best returns. The proven Zacks Rank emphasizes companies with positive estimate revision trends, and our Style Scores highlight stocks with specific traits.

Right now, Boot Barn is sporting a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy), while Industria de Diseno Textil SA has a Zacks Rank of #4 (Sell). The Zacks Rank favors stocks that have recently seen positive revisions to their earnings estimates, so investors should rest assured that BOOT has an improving earnings outlook. However, value investors will care about much more than just this.

Value investors analyze a variety of traditional, tried-and-true metrics to help find companies that they believe are undervalued at their current share price levels.

The Style Score Value grade factors in a variety of key fundamental metrics, including the popular P/E ratio, P/S ratio, earnings yield, cash flow per share, and a number of other key stats that are commonly used by value investors.

BOOT currently has a forward P/E ratio of 12.67, while IDEXY has a forward P/E of 25.76. We also note that BOOT has a PEG ratio of 0.75. This popular figure is similar to the widely-used P/E ratio, but the PEG ratio also considers a company's expected EPS growth rate. IDEXY currently has a PEG ratio of 2.69.

Another notable valuation metric for BOOT is its P/B ratio of 2.57. The P/B ratio pits a stock's market value against its book value, which is defined as total assets minus total liabilities. For comparison, IDEXY has a P/B of 9.62.

These are just a few of the metrics contributing to BOOT's Value grade of A and IDEXY's Value grade of D.

BOOT has seen stronger estimate revision activity and sports more attractive valuation metrics than IDEXY, so it seems like value investors will conclude that BOOT is the superior option right now.

Should Value Investors Buy Ryder System (R) Stock?
R Ryder System
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Here at Zacks, we focus on our proven ranking system, which places an emphasis on earnings estimates and estimate revisions, to find winning stocks. But we also understand that investors develop their own strategies, so we are constantly looking at the latest trends in value, growth, and momentum to find strong companies for our readers.

Looking at the history of these trends, perhaps none is more beloved than value investing. This strategy simply looks to identify companies that are being undervalued by the broader market. Value investors use a variety of methods, including tried-and-true valuation metrics, to find these stocks.

In addition to the Zacks Rank, investors looking for stocks with specific traits can utilize our Style Scores system. Of course, value investors will be most interested in the system's "Value" category. Stocks with "A" grades for Value and high Zacks Ranks are among the best value stocks available at any given moment.

Ryder System (R - Free Report) is a stock many investors are watching right now. R is currently sporting a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), as well as an A grade for Value. The stock has a Forward P/E ratio of 12.74. This compares to its industry's average Forward P/E of 13.99. R's Forward P/E has been as high as 13.18 and as low as 9.22, with a median of 11.32, all within the past year.

We should also highlight that R has a P/B ratio of 2.44. Investors use the P/B ratio to look at a stock's market value versus its book value, which is defined as total assets minus total liabilities. This stock's P/B looks attractive against its industry's average P/B of 3.92. R's P/B has been as high as 2.52 and as low as 1.79, with a median of 2.16, over the past year.

Value investors also love the P/S ratio, which is calculated by simply dividing a stock's price with the company's sales. Some people prefer this metric because sales are harder to manipulate on an income statement. This means it could be a truer performance indicator. R has a P/S ratio of 0.79. This compares to its industry's average P/S of 1.06.

These are only a few of the key metrics included in Ryder System's strong Value grade, but they help show that the stock is likely undervalued right now. When factoring in the strength of its earnings outlook, R looks like an impressive value stock at the moment.

Segment EBT increased 7% year over year to $91 million, benefiting from the optimization of Ryder's omnichannel retail network and higher operating revenues. These gains were partially offset by lower automotive results and productivity challenges associated with new business ramp-ups.

The segment's EBT margin, measured against operating revenues, declined to 8.1% from 8.3% a year ago.

R's Dedicated Transportation Results Remain MixedDedicated Transportation Solutions total revenues increased 6% year over year to $606 million, reflecting higher fuel revenues and subcontracted transportation costs passed through to customers.

However, operating revenues declined 1% to $455 million, reflecting a lower fleet count, partially offset by higher pricing.

Segment EBT decreased 5% year over year to $34 million, reflecting reduced operating revenues and a prior-year workers' compensation insurance benefit. Cost savings from strategic initiatives partially offset these headwinds. EBT margin declined to 7.5% from 7.8% a year ago.

Ryder's Liquidity and Cash Flow PositionRyder exited the third quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $198 million, unchanged from the end of 2025.

Total debt, including the current portion, stood at $7.21 billion at the third-quarter end compared with $7.65 billion at 2025-end.

Net cash provided by operating activities from continuing operations totaled $1.99 billion during the first nine months of 2026, up from $1.85 billion in the corresponding year-ago period, primarily reflecting lower working capital requirements.

Free cash flow increased to $992 million from $496 million a year ago, primarily reflecting reduced capital expenditures. Ryder's adjusted return on equity improved to 18% from 17%.

R Raises 2026 Earnings GuidanceFor fourth-quarter 2026, Ryder expects comparable EPS in the range of $4.25-$4.45 compared with $3.59 reported in the year-ago quarter.

For full-year 2026, management raised its comparable EPS guidance to $14.85-$15.05 from the previous projection of $14.40-$14.80. The upward revision reflects stronger-than-expected third-quarter performance and additional benefits anticipated from improving used vehicle sales and rental market conditions.

The company’s adjusted free cash flow guidance was $700-$800 million.

The company's capital expenditure forecast remains unchanged at $2.4 billion, including $1.7 billion for lease vehicles and $500 million for rental vehicles. Net capital expenditures are projected at approximately $1.9 billion.

Currently, R carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

First public GPU cloud planned for 2027 as Freedom develops a $2 billion Sovereign AI Hub

, /PRNewswire/ -- Freedom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: FRHC) is advancing its AI infrastructure plans in Kazakhstan, including a $2 billion Sovereign AI Hub and the launch of its first public GPU cloud in 2027. The programme aims to expand access to computing resources for businesses, developers and public institutions.

Timur Turlov (right), CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang. Astana, 23 October 2026 Freedom is developing the Sovereign AI Hub under an agreement signed in November 2025 with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. The project envisages a site with 100 MW of available power. Freedom is the principal financing and implementation partner and will operate the hub.

The planned infrastructure is intended to support AI model training, large-scale data processing and the development of AI services for business and government. Access to shared computing resources can enable organisations to develop and run applications without building their own server infrastructure.

Timur Turlov, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., has said demand already stands at twice the planned capacity of the hub's first stage. Major prospective clients have expressed willingness to lease future capacity for five years.

Freedom plans to make its first GPU cluster available as a public cloud in 2027, giving businesses and developers access to computing capacity for AI workloads.

The group is also developing Freedom AI Super Cluster, designed to serve government, business and science, with its first phase planned for the first quarter of 2027. A new Freedom Cloud data centre is under construction near Almaty. Freedom Cloud already serves more than 3,400 business and public-sector clients.

Freedom's international technology ecosystem spans banking, brokerage, insurance and telecoms, alongside lifestyle services including ticketing, travel, e-commerce and food delivery.

On 23 October, Turlov met Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, in Astana during Huang's first visit to Kazakhstan. Turlov presented Freedom's technology ecosystem and its AI infrastructure plans.

Turlov noted that Kazakhstan has developed a strong pool of talent already creating technology in e-commerce and finance. Combined with domestic AI infrastructure, he said, this is becoming one of the country's main advantages in the global digital transformation.

Freedom's role is to provide the infrastructure needed to support that development. Its investment in computing capacity and cloud services aims to help businesses and developers turn local expertise into AI applications and digital products.

Fox (FOXA) Earnings Expected to Grow: Should You Buy?
FOXA Fox Corp
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The market expects Fox (FOXA - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

While the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call, it's worth handicapping the probability of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis TV broadcasting company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.99 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +31.8%.

Revenues are expected to be $4.23 billion, up 13.2% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 4.26% higher over the last 30 days to the current level.

This insight is at the core of our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Fox?For Fox, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +6.64%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #1.

So, this combination indicates that Fox will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Fox would post earnings of $1.34 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.79, delivering a surprise of +33.58%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates four times.

Fox appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

The market expects Fox Corporation (FOX - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $2.12 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +40.4%.

Revenues are expected to be $4.29 billion, up 14.8% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 11.17% higher over the last 30 days to the current level.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Fox?For Fox, the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -0.16%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #1.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Fox will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Fox would post earnings of $1.34 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.79, delivering a surprise of +33.58%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates four times.

Fox doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Original source text
New York, New York--(Newsfile Corp. - October 26, 2026) - Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP announces that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Triller Group Inc. ("Triller" or the "Company") (OTC Pink: ILLR) (OTC Pink: ILLRW) on behalf of investors that purchased or otherwise acquired Triller securities between October 16, 2024 and December 29, 2025 (the "Class Period").

DEADLINE REMINDER: If you are a member of the proposed Class, you may move the court no later than December 14, 2026 for an opportunity to be lead plaintiff for the purported class. If you have losses we encourage you to contact us to learn more about the lead plaintiff process. You need not seek to become a lead plaintiff in order to share in any possible recovery.

According to the complaint, on October 15, 2024, Triller, formerly known as AGBA Group Holding Limited, completed a merger, including the purported acquisition of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship ("BKFC").

The complaint alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that (i) Triller's control over and consolidation of BKFC was tenuous, overstated, and/or non-existent; (ii) Triller could not timely file one or more of its periodic financial reports with the SEC as required by the NASDAQ's listing requirements, in part, because of accounting issues related to the foregoing; (iii) as a result of all the foregoing, Triller was at an increased risk of being delisted from the NASDAQ; and (iv) accordingly, Triller's disclosure controls and procedures were deficient, the full scope and severity of issues with its financial controls were understated, and the overall benefits of the Merger were overstated.

The truth allegedly began to emerge on March 31, 2025 when Triller filed a Form NT 10-K, disclosing its inability to timely file its annual report on Form 10-K for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2024. On this news, the price of Triller stock fell $1.40 per share, or 17.95%, to close at $6.40 per share on April 1, 2025.

Then, on December 30, 2025, according to the complaint, Triller issued a press release confirming the suspension of trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market and delisting of the Company's securities stemming from the Company not having been able to file two periodic reports by a December 24, 2025 deadline. Further, the Company's press release attributed the filing delay "to one remaining technical matter involving the consolidation of accounts for a U.S.-based operation within Triller Group [i.e., BKFC]."

The complaint alleges that the Offering Materials falsely attested that Defendants were making (and would continue to make) "reasonable best efforts to obtain [] authorizations and consents" "from certain regulatory authorities" and "to take, or cause to be taken, all appropriate actions and [. . .] all things necessary, proper or advisable under applicable law (including any antitrust laws) to consummate and make effective the merger at the earliest practicable date."

TeraWulf Jumps 7% as CEO Pushes Back on Stranded Data Center Fears; Cipher Digital Rises 3%, Applied Digital Edges Higher
CIFR Cipher Mining
FMP Stock News
Original source text
TeraWulf's CEO fired back at analysts calling his unfinished data centers stranded assets, and his argument rests on a build sequence that he says most critics are getting backwards.

A weekend response from TeraWulf‘s (NASDAQ:WULF) chief executive is lifting the former Bitcoin miners now racing to build AI data centers, with TeraWulf shares leading the charge. The pushback targets a worry that has weighed on the group: some sites could end up without tenants, power or interconnection. TeraWulf shares are at $12.15 in morning trading, up 7% as the market reassesses fears that partially built data centers could leave computing capacity stranded.

Even with the rebound, TeraWulf stock is down 26% over the past month, so the gain recovers only part of that decline. Meanwhile, Cipher Digital (NASDAQ:CIFR) shares are up 3% to $8.17, a smaller advance that trails TeraWulf’s move. Applied Digital (NASDAQ:APLD) shares are up 2% to $18.63, the most modest gain of the three data center builders.

The CoinShares Bitcoin Mining and Digital Power ETF (NASDAQ:WGMI) is up 3% to $30, giving a read on the sector. That’s well ahead of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY), which is up 0.9% to $767.08, showing the AI infrastructure group recovering alongside a stronger market while also outpacing it.

Prager Rejects the Stranded Data Center Narrative Over the weekend, TeraWulf chief executive Paul Prager pushed back on warnings that partially built data centers will leave computing capacity stranded. His case rests on sequencing, since TeraWulf secures power, fixed-price construction contracts, long-term tenants with investment-grade backing and financing before it builds. Prager wrote, “We may move dirt early, but we don’t build on spec.”

Prager made his stance clear. In the same pushback, he maintained that “what others call stranded assets, we may call a development pipeline.” Late last week, TeraWulf also expanded its senior secured revolving credit facility, giving the company more borrowing capacity for its AI data center expansion. Taken together, the message and the larger credit line offer a concrete answer to the funding question hanging over TeraWulf’s unfinished sites.

Mining Roots Set TeraWulf and Cipher Digital Apart From Applied Digital TeraWulf, Cipher Digital and Applied Digital all build data center capacity for AI and high-performance computing customers. Both TeraWulf and Cipher Digital are converting from Bitcoin mining, while Applied Digital built its business around hosting computing workloads. That shared origin puts TeraWulf and Cipher Digital in the same debate over how converted mining sites get financed and filled.

Contracted tenants anchor TeraWulf’s argument, including a long-term Anthropic lease at its Justified Data Campus in Kentucky and existing operations at its Lake Mariner campus in New York. Prager’s “development pipeline” line also covers earlier-stage TeraWulf sites such as the Muskie Data Campus in Kentucky and the Chesapeake Data Campus in Maryland. Cipher Digital has its own contracted campuses, including Black Pearl and Barber Lake, as it moves away from mining.

Applied Digital’s hosting background gives it a different profile. The company runs an HPC Hosting segment serving hyperscale customers and a Data Center Hosting segment that provides energized space to crypto mining customers.

What TeraWulf’s Financing-First Model Means for Its Recovery TeraWulf’s next test is whether its financing-first approach keeps its projects on schedule amid broader questions about how AI data centers get funded (we covered seven companies supplying that expansion, from power to cooling, in a free report here). The milestones to watch are construction progress at Lake Mariner and Justified, along with any draw on the expanded credit facility.

On the risk side, TeraWulf still runs a legacy mining business it’s repurposing for high-performance computing, and its sites take time to turn into lease revenue, while the expanded borrowing capacity at TeraWulf also adds obligations that pay off only if tenants move in on schedule.

Cipher Digital’s contracted campuses support its case, but it faces the same conversion and financing questions, and Applied Digital’s hyperscale customers are an advantage, though its crypto mining hosting segment keeps it tied to a volatile sector. Prager’s no-spec pledge sets a clear standard for measuring TeraWulf in the quarters ahead.

3 Companies With Room to Pass on Costs to Manage Inflation
WDFC WD-40 Company
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Despite the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates in September 2026, inflation crept up again that month, with the Consumer Price Index rising 0.6% compared to 0.4% in August. Not all goods—and therefore not all companies—will experience the same impact, and energy and gasoline prices have been among the fastest to rise. The essential nature of these products means that many firms face rising costs even if their own prices have not increased at the same pace.

A natural step for a company in this situation is to increase the prices of its offerings to offset some or all of those added costs. However, after an already prolonged period of inflation, consumers are highly sensitive to further price increases. Still, some firms may have the flexibility to pass along more of their costs to customers, either because of the essential or unique nature of their goods, the loyalty of their customer base, or the fact that their prices have not yet risen at the same pace as those of competitors.

Known for its popular water-displacing spray and lubricant of the same name, the WD-40 Company NASDAQ: WDFC provides a range of products for specialized maintenance and cleaning applications. According to its latest earnings report, WD-40 experienced a decline in fourth-quarter gross margin due to rising raw material costs, adding pressure to its margin outlook.

At the same time, the company's sales volumes have remained robust, both domestically and abroad. Last quarter, WD-40 Specialist sales in the Americas climbed by 7% year over year (YOY), and consolidated net sales increased by 8% over the same period. Some of this success may be due to the company's efforts to develop differentiated premium products for specific customer needs.

This combination of sales momentum, brand recognition, and niche products meeting proven customer needs gives WD-40 the flexibility to adjust pricing to help counter the margin pressure it has experienced. In particular, the firm's premium Smart Straw and EZ Reach products saw combined sales growth of 17% year over year in fiscal 2026.

Analysts remain generally favorable toward WDFC shares, with a consensus rating of Moderate Buy. MarketBeat's consensus price target suggests approximately 45% potential upside, even after the stock's gains this year. WD-40's accelerating share buybacks could provide additional support for long-term investors.

Balchem Corp. NASDAQ: BCPC makes specialty nutrients for use in dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage applications, among other products. In its Q3 2026 earnings report, the company demonstrated resilience despite inflation, with a 9% YOY increase in net sales and a 16% improvement in net earnings over the same period, both beating analyst expectations.

For Balchem, continued success comes in part from its evolving product lineup, including a pipeline of innovative nutrition products backed by strong demand. All three of the company's reporting segments achieved YOY growth in the quarter, indicating its business remains stable despite rising costs.

One area that may be less appealing to income-focused investors is the firm's dividend, which has a relatively modest dividend yield of approximately 0.55%. At the same time, Balchem has repurchased $127 million in shares over the last year, so the company remains conscious of ways to boost shareholder value.

Analysts view BCPC shares favorably, with a large majority rating the stock a Buy and giving a consensus price target 14% above current trading levels, even after shares have already risen by more than 14% year to date.

A provider of fragrances and beauty products, Interparfums Inc. NASDAQ: IPAR holds licensing agreements with a variety of international luxury brands. Like the companies above, Interparfums has faced pressure from increased expenses, in this case related to marketing, logistics, tariffs, and royalties. Operating margin fell to 17.9% from 20% for the first half of 2026.

Some luxury brands have bucked the trend for retail companies more broadly, seeing continued interest and even rising demand and sales as loyal customers are willing to pay more for products they recognize and trust.

Interparfums may benefit from that dynamic, with additional buffer provided by the fact that its clients are not individual consumers but rather high-end department stores, online retailers, and specialty perfume and beauty stores.

Interparfums is also helping to offset costs through other measures, including implementing cost-efficiency initiatives, pricing adjustments, and tariff refunds.

Crescent Energy (CRGY) Earnings Expected to Grow: What to Know Ahead of Next Week's Release
CRGY Crescent Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Crescent Energy (CRGY - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis oil and gas company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.59 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +68.6%.

Revenues are expected to be $1.14 billion, up 31.9% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 13.27% higher over the last 30 days to the current level. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.

Investors should keep in mind that the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts may not always get reflected in the aggregate change.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Crescent Energy? For Crescent Energy, the Most Accurate Estimate is the same as the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that there are no recent analyst views which differ from what have been considered to derive the consensus estimate. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of 0%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #2.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Crescent Energy will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Crescent Energy would post earnings of $0.59 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.69, delivering a surprise of +16.95%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates four times.

Crescent Energy doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

An Industry Player's Expected ResultsGE Vernova (GEV - Free Report) , another stock in the Zacks Alternative Energy - Other industry, is expected to report earnings per share of $4.03 for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate points to a year-over-year change of +145.7%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $12.1 billion, up 21.4% from the year-ago quarter.

The consensus EPS estimate for GE Vernova has been revised 3.3% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. However, a higher Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +5.47%.

This Earnings ESP, combined with its Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), suggests that GE Vernova will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates two times.

Fluence Energy (FLNC) Alert: Securities Class Action Filed, Investors with Losses Encouraged to Contact Hagens Berman Before November 27, 2026 Deadline
FLNC Fluence Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
, /PRNewswire/ -- Fluence Energy (NASDAQ: FLNC) faces a securities class action, which seeks to represent investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Fluence securities between November 24, 2025 and September 16, 2026.

The suit follows a stream of unexpected earnings announcements that were apparently at odds with Fluence's assurances that it was positioned to capitalize on surging demand for data centers, and which collectively wiped out roughly $3 billion of the company's market capitalization.

National shareholders rights firm Hagens Berman continues its investigation into claims that Fluence violated the federal securities laws.

The firm urges Fluence investors who suffered substantial losses to submit your losses now. In addition, persons with knowledge who may be able to assist the investigation are invited to contact the firm's attorneys.

Fluence Energy, Inc. (FLNC) Securities Class Action:

The litigation's focus is on the propriety of Fluence's assurances that it was "well positioned to capitalize on the accelerating demand for energy storage[,]" and its backlog sufficiently covered revenue expectations. The company's plan depended on successfully ramping  its "fully automated" Houston manufacturing facility's production of thermal management systems for its Gridstack ProTM battery energy storage solutions.

The complaint alleges that Fluence did not disclose important information to investors – its ability to deliver on its backlog and recognize revenue depended on new contract facilities that included incomplete and non-operational facilities. The complaint also alleges the company did not disclose that facility remediation efforts were unsuccessful.

Investors began to learn the truth through a series of partial disclosures beginning on February 4, 2026. That day, Fluence reported its Q1 2026 results included a significant year-over-year margin compression due to "additional estimated costs on two projects[]" and a significant year-over-year increase in net losses.

Then, on August 5, 2026 Fluence announced its Q3 2026 results included weaker than expected revenues, a massive year-over-year margin compression, and a net loss of $44.3 million compared to net income of $6.2 million in the same quarter last year.

The company said it "now expects that $400 million in project deliveries will be delayed into fiscal 2027 due to production issues at a new international contract facility[]" and also blamed "construction related delays that affected the completion and start-up of a new U.S. contract manufacturing facility."

Finally, on September 16, 2026 Fluence slashed its 2026 revenue guidance again (by 20%). CEO Julian Nebreda Marquez blamed the continuing "delays in the ramp up of our contract manufacturing facility in Houston." He also revealed the ramp delay was caused by having to manually weld rather than employing the automated welding process.

Each of these revelations triggered sharp declines in the price of Fluence shares. Between the first partial disclosure on February 4 and September 17, 2026 shares have fallen $21.33 (-73%).

"We're focused on when the Houston welding issue was first known to Fluence management given the facility's crucial role in onshoring," said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm's investigation.

FLNC Shareholder Alert: Fluence Energy, Inc. Securities Class Action Lawsuit - Investors With Losses May Contact Levi & Korsinsky
FLNC Fluence Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levi & Korsinsky, LLP notifies investors in Fluence Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLNC) that a securities class action was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of those who purchased or otherwise acquired Fluence Energy securities between November 24, 2025 and September 16, 2026. Submit your information now or contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500.

IMPORTANT DATE: November 27, 2026 is the deadline to seek appointment as lead plaintiff. During the Class Period, Fluence Energy's fiscal 2026 adjusted EBITDA outlook swung from a $50.0 million midpoint to a loss of approximately $200.0 million, and revenue guidance fell from a $3.4 billion midpoint to $2.4 billion. FLNC shares allegedly experienced three related 2026 declines: 34.63% on February 5, 7.17% on August 6, and 15.36% on September 17.

The Periodic Reports Plaintiffs Challenge

The complaint alleges that Fluence Energy's required SEC reports presented a steady risk picture while production capacity lagged:

Form 10-K, November 25, 2025: stated the Company believed it had "adequate access to our key components to meet the needs of our operations and demand of our customers."The same 10-K: described work with contract manufacturers on "automation, digital quality control systems, and integrated planning platforms" to improve throughput.Form 10-Q, February 4, 2026: reported "no material changes as of December 31, 2025, with respect to our risk factors" disclosed in the 2025 Annual Report.Forms 10-Q, May 6 and August 5, 2026: each stated there had been "no material changes with respect to our exposure to market risk" since the Annual Report. The Alleged Omission Behind the Filings

The action contends these reports omitted that delivering backlog and recognizing fiscal 2026 revenue depended on new contract manufacturing facilities that were not completed, not operational, or not capable of producing at assumed volumes. Plaintiffs point out that the August 5, 2026 Form 10-Q repeated its "no material changes" language on the same day the Company announced that $400.0 million in project deliveries would slip into fiscal 2027.

"Annual and quarterly SEC reports are where investors expect to learn that a company's risk profile has changed. The complaint alleges Fluence Energy's filings kept reporting no material changes while the manufacturing capacity supporting its guidance was allegedly not ready. Shareholders who relied on those reports may wish to review their options." -- Joseph E. Levi, Esq.

The complaint alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that the Company's ability to deliver on its backlog and recognize the revenue underlying its fiscal 2026 guidance depended on new contract manufacturing facilities, including facilities that were not completed, not operational, and/or not capable of producing at the volumes the guidance assumed and that the corrective measures the Company had implemented to address production problems at its contract manufacturers were not remediating those problems.

According to the complaint, the truth was allegedly revealed through a series of earnings announcements starting on February 4, 2026 when the Company reported first quarter 2026 financial results, including a GAAP profit margin of approximately 4.9%, a 6.5 percentage point decline year over year, due to "additional estimated costs on two projects." On this news, Fluence Energy stock fell $10.04 per share, nearly 35%, to close at $18.95 per share on February 5, 2026. Further, the complaint alleges that following the end of the Class Period disclosures, including that the Company dramatically cuts its full year adjusted EBITDA guide from negative $10 million, to negative $200 million, Fluence Energy stock fell $1.39 per share, or 15.36%, to close at $7.66 per share on September 17, 2026.

BAX’s Q3 EstimatesThe consensus estimate for revenues is pegged at $2.9 billion, indicating growth of 2.4% from the prior-year quarter’s reported figure. The consensus mark for earnings is pinned at 51 cents per share, implying a 26.1% year-over-year decline.

Our model estimates total revenues from continuing operations to grow 2.7% at constant currency (cc) to $2.9 billion. Adjusted earnings per share are expected to decline 25.6% to 51 cents.

Important Factors to Note Ahead of BAX’s Q3 ResultsBaxter is expected to report higher revenues but lower earnings year over year for the third quarter of 2026. Although the company’s operating performance has improved, profitability is likely to remain constrained by elevated manufacturing costs, tariff-related expenses and ongoing challenges in its infusion pump business. Management raised its full-year outlook following second-quarter results, reflecting stronger operating momentum and a favorable tariff refund, but execution-related headwinds remain important to monitor.

Within the Medical Products & Therapies (MPT) segment, performance is likely to benefit from continued strong demand for Advanced Surgery products, including hemostats and sealants, as well as growth in drug compounding and IV solutions. However, Infusion Systems is expected to remain under pressure from the ongoing shipment and installation hold on the Novum IQ large-volume infusion pump. Continued customer transitions to Spectrum IQ pumps and elevated manufacturing costs may also weigh on profitability. Easier year-over-year comparisons in infusion systems and sustained demand across key product categories could support improvement. Our model estimates this segment’s revenues to grow 2.8% at cc to $2.03 billion.

Healthcare Systems & Technologies (HST) is likely to benefit from continued demand for Patient Support Systems and growth in Front Line Care. Connex 360’s market traction and anticipated contributions from both Care & Connectivity Solutions and Front Line Care should support growth, although installation timing and execution challenges remain important factors to watch. Management expects low-single-digit organic sales growth for HST for the full year 2026. The pace of product installations and the recovery in hospital capital spending will remain important factors. Our model estimates this segment’s revenues to grow 2.9% at cc to $795.5 million.

Baxter is expected to face higher-cost inventory and tariff-related expenses during the quarter. Management anticipates approximately $40 million in net tariff-related costs during the second half of 2026, despite mitigating actions. Improved operating performance and cost-reduction initiatives could support earnings recovery. Investors will watch on execution, manufacturing efficiency and the company’s full-year adjusted EPS outlook of $1.95-$2.15.

Here's Why Encompass Health (EHC) is a Strong Momentum Stock
EHC Encompass Health Corp
FMP Stock News
Original source text
For new and old investors, taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals. Zacks Premium provides lots of different ways to do both.

The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens.

It also includes access to the Zacks Style Scores.

What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores is a unique set of guidelines that rates stocks based on three popular investing types, and were developed as complementary indicators for the Zacks Rank. This combination helps investors choose securities with the highest chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.

Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform.

The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:

Value ScoreFinding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value, are what value investors like to focus on. So, the Value Style Score takes into account ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to highlight the most attractive and discounted stocks.

Growth ScoreWhile good value is important, growth investors are more focused on a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score takes projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow into account to uncover stocks that will see long-term, sustainable growth.

How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.

But it can feel overwhelming to pick the right stocks for you and your investing goals with over 800 top-rated stocks to choose from.

That's where the Style Scores come in.

To maximize your returns, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. This means picking stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you find yourself looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, make sure they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible.

The direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should always be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy, since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank.

Stock to Watch: Encompass Health (EHC - Free Report) Encompass Health Corporation is a provider of integrated healthcare services. It offers facility-based patient care through its network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. Through its extensive network of 173 hospitals across 39 states and Puerto Rico as of Dec. 31 2025, the company delivers high-quality, cost-effective, integrated care in the healthcare space. It provides a continuum of facility-based care for its patients and their families, which will gain more prevalence as coordinated care and integrated delivery payment models, such as accountable care organizations and bundled payment arrangements.

EHC is a #2 (Buy) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of A.

Momentum investors should take note of this Medical stock. EHC has a Momentum Style Score of B, and shares are up 0.5% over the past four weeks.

One analyst revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days for fiscal 2026. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.01 to $6.08 per share. EHC boasts an average earnings surprise of +6.8%.

With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Momentum and VGM Style Scores, EHC should be on investors' short list.

ONE Gas (OGS) Earnings Expected to Grow: Should You Buy?
OGS One Gas
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The market expects ONE Gas (OGS - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis natural gas distribution is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.48 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +9.1%.

Revenues are expected to be $401.27 million, up 5.8% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 1.34% higher over the last 30 days to the current level.

This insight is at the core of our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for ONE Gas?For ONE Gas, the Most Accurate Estimate is the same as the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that there are no recent analyst views which differ from what have been considered to derive the consensus estimate. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of 0%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that ONE Gas will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that ONE Gas would post earnings of $0.65 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.82, delivering a surprise of +26.15%.

ONE Gas doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Choice Hotels (CHH) Reports Next Week: Wall Street Expects Earnings Growth
CHH Choice Hotels International
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Choice Hotels (CHH - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

While the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call, it's worth handicapping the probability of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis hotel franchiser is expected to post quarterly earnings of $2.26 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +7.6%.

Revenues are expected to be $454.9 million, up 1.7% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 0.17% lower over the last 30 days to the current level.

This insight is at the core of our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Choice Hotels? For Choice Hotels, the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -0.22%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Choice Hotels will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Choice Hotels would post earnings of $1.97 per share when it actually produced earnings of $2.02, delivering a surprise of +2.54%.

Choice Hotels doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Expected Results of an Industry PlayerAnother stock from the Zacks Hotels and Motels industry, Hyatt Hotels (H - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $0.68 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of +326.7%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $1.77 billion, down 1% from the year-ago quarter.

The consensus EPS estimate for Hyatt Hotels has been revised 0.5% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. However, a lower Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -15.46%.

This Earnings ESP, combined with its Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Hyatt Hotels will beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

INVESTOR DEADLINE: RGRD Law Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Duolingo, Inc. and Announces Opportunity for Investors with Substantial Losses to Lead Class Action Lawsuit - DUOL
DUOL Duolingo
FMP Stock News
Original source text
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The law firm of Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP announces that purchasers of Duolingo, Inc. (NASDAQ: DUOL) Class A common stock between May 2, 2025 and February 26, 2026, both dates inclusive (the “Class Period”), have until December 7, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the Duolingo class action lawsuit. Captioned City of Dearborn Heights Act 345 Police & Fire Retirement System v. Duolingo, Inc., No. 26-cv-02199 (W.D. Pa.), the Duolingo class action lawsuit charges Duolingo as well as certain of Duolingo’s current and former executive officers with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

If you suffered substantial losses and wish to serve as lead plaintiff of the Duolingo class action lawsuit, please provide your information here:

https://www.rgrdlaw.com/cases-duolingo-inc-class-action-lawsuit-duol.html

You can also contact attorneys Ken Dolitsky or Michael Albert of Robbins Geller by calling 800/851-7783 or via e-mail at [email protected].

CASE ALLEGATIONS: Duolingo is a leading, U.S.-based mobile learning platform that primarily focuses on language learning.

The Duolingo class action lawsuit alleges that defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose, among other things, that: (i) Daily Active User (“DAU”) growth rates were being leveraged against deliberately added user friction in the form of significant increases in ad volume, subscription tier upsells, and worsened product quality, and defendants understood that any amount of user friction would cause users to leave the app and, ultimately, negatively impact DAU growth rates; (ii) Duolingo’s rigorous A/B testing demonstrated to defendants that increased friction in the free user experience was having negative impacts on DAU growth rates; (iii) Duolingo’s quickly generated AI content was worsening the quality of Duolingo’s product offerings, negatively impacting the user experience and user trends, and threatening the sustainability of Duolingo’s financial performance; and (iv) far from driving sustained growth and strong user momentum through content and “product improvements” that “get improved retention,” Duolingo’s constant A/B testing informed Duolingo that its monetization push and lower-quality, rapidly generated AI content were degrading the Duolingo product experience and the value proposition of its subscription tiers.

On November 5, 2025, Duolingo reported its third quarter financial results, revealing another sequential decline in DAU growth to 36%, a substantial drop from 49% in first quarter 2025 and 40% during second quarter 2025. Defendants also revealed a reversal of Duolingo’s monetization push and stated that going forward, Duolingo would prioritize user growth over monetization and that Duolingo needed to invest more in “teaching better across all our subjects.” On this news, the price of Duolingo stock fell 25%.

Then, on January 12, 2026, Duolingo announced that its Chief Financial Officer, defendant Matthew Skaruppa, had resigned. Duolingo also provided limited, preliminary fourth quarter 2025 operating metrics, revealing DAU growth of only 30% – nearly six points of additional deceleration from third quarter 2025. In response, Duolingo stock fell another 8.5%.

Finally, on February 26, 2026, Duolingo announced its fourth quarter 2025 financial results, confirmed the slowdown in DAU growth, and revealed the financial consequences of its strategy shift were neither “small” nor “little”; rather, they would result in material negative impacts on 2026 bookings, DAU growth rates, revenue, and adjusted EBITDA. On this news, the price of Duolingo stock fell an additional 14%.

The plaintiff is represented by Robbins Geller, which has extensive experience in prosecuting investor class actions including actions involving financial fraud. You can view a copy of the complaint by clicking here.

THE LEAD PLAINTIFF PROCESS: The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 permits any investor who purchased Duolingo Class A common stock during the Class Period to seek appointment as lead plaintiff in the Duolingo class action lawsuit. A lead plaintiff is generally the movant with the greatest financial interest in the relief sought by the putative class who is also typical and adequate of the putative class. A lead plaintiff acts on behalf of all other class members in directing the Duolingo class action lawsuit. The lead plaintiff can select a law firm of its choice to litigate the Duolingo class action lawsuit. An investor’s ability to share in any potential future recovery of the Duolingo class action lawsuit is not dependent upon serving as lead plaintiff.

Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC) Earnings Expected to Grow: What to Know Ahead of Next Week's Release
LSCC Lattice Semiconductor
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

While the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call, it's worth handicapping the probability of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis chipmaker is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.55 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +96.4%.

Revenues are expected to be $255.13 million, up 91.3% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 4.35% higher over the last 30 days to the current level.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Lattice? For Lattice, the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -0.60%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Lattice will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Lattice would post earnings of $0.44 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.53, delivering a surprise of +20.45%.

Lattice doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

An Industry Player's Expected ResultsAmong the stocks in the Zacks Electronics - Semiconductors industry, Entegris (ENTG - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $1.04 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of +44.4%. This quarter's revenue is expected to be $924.45 million, up 14.5% from the year-ago quarter.

The consensus EPS estimate for Entegris has been revised 0.1% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. However, a lower Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -2.06%.

When combined with a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy), this Earnings ESP makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Entegris will beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

The complaint alleges, among other things, that throughout the Class Period defendants disseminated materially false and misleading statements claiming that Papa Johns transformation was working to stabilize and improve the Company's growth while concealing material adverse facts concerning the true state of Papa Johns' transformation.

On August 6, 2026, according to the complaint, Papa Johns issued its second quarter 2026 financial results, reporting an 8.3% decrease in North American comparable sales, the suspension of its dividend, and a sharp reduction in its 2026 outlook from a 3% decline in North American comparable sales at the midpoint to a 7% annual decline. During the related conference call, CEO Todd Allan Penegor stated that "it's clear that our transformation is taking longer than expected" and "we must execute better and move faster." On this news, Papa Johns' stock price fell $5.11 or 17.18%, to close at $24.64 per share on August 6, 2026, thereby injuring investors.

PZZA Deadline Alert: Levi & Korsinsky Reminds Papa John's International, Inc. (PZZA) Investors of Securities Class Action Deadline on November 2, 2026
PZZA Papa John's International
FMP Stock News
Original source text
NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levi & Korsinsky, LLP alerts investors in Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) of a pending securities class action brought on behalf of shareholders who purchased securities between August 7, 2025 and August 5, 2026. Find out if you may qualify to recover losses. You may also contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500.

PZZA closed at $29.75 per share on August 5, 2026. One session later, the stock closed at $24.64, a single-day loss of $5.11 per share, or around 17.18%. Investors have until November 2, 2026 to seek lead plaintiff status.

What Moved the PZZA Market on August 6, 2026

“A $5.11 per share move in one session reflects how abruptly the market reassessed Papa John's prospects once the Company reported an 8.3% comparable sales…”

Three items reached the market in the same announcement: an 8.3% decrease in North American comparable sales, the suspension of the Company's dividend, and a reduction of the 2026 North American comparable sales outlook from a 3% decline at the midpoint to a 6-8% annual decline. The action asserts that these figures were sharply at odds with the trajectory management had described to the market during the Class Period.

Alleged Market Impact by the Numbers

Closing price on August 5, 2026: $29.75 per shareClosing price on August 6, 2026: $24.64 per shareSingle-session decline: $5.11 per share, or 17.18%North American comparable sales reported: 8.3% decrease2026 North American outlook: revised from a 3% decline at the midpoint to a 7% annual decline at the midpointDividend: suspended in the same August 6, 2026 announcement2026 consolidated adjusted EBITDA guidance previously set between $200 million and $210 million Why Shares Were Repriced So Sharply

As alleged, the market had been told that the transformation was producing measurable progress and that North American trends would improve. The complaint charges that the scale of the reported shortfall, combined with the dividend suspension and the guidance reset, left investors reassessing the Company's position in a single trading session. The lawsuit contends that shareholders purchased PZZA at prices that did not reflect the pace of the turnaround.

"A $5.11 per share move in one session reflects how abruptly the market reassessed Papa John's prospects once the Company reported an 8.3% comparable sales decrease and suspended its dividend. The complaint alleges that shareholders bought PZZA at prices that did not account for the difficulties described in that announcement." -- Joseph E. Levi, Esq.

Q: Who are the defendants named in the PZZA lawsuit? A: The complaint names Papa John's International, Inc. and individual defendants who were senior investors during the class period, including Todd Allan Penegor and Ravi Thanawala.

Q: What is the PZZA class action lawsuit about? A: A securities class action has been filed against Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) alleging materially false and misleading statements between August 7, 2025 and August 5, 2026. Shares fell approximately 17.18% after the Company disclosed an 8.3% decrease in North American comparable sales, the suspension of its dividend, and a reduction of its 2026 North American comparable sales outlook to a 6-8% annual decline. Investors who purchased shares during the Class Period and suffered losses may be eligible to seek compensation.

Q: Who is eligible to join the PZZA investor lawsuit? A: Investors who purchased PZZA stock or securities between August 7, 2025 and August 5, 2026 and suffered financial losses may be eligible. Lead plaintiffs are typically investors with the largest documented losses. Being appointed does not increase individual recovery but gives direct oversight of how the case is run.

Q: What if I already sold my PZZA shares -- can I still recover losses? A: Yes. Eligibility is based on when you purchased, not whether you still hold the shares. Investors who bought during the Class Period and sold at a loss may still be eligible to participate.

Q: What does it cost me to participate? A: There is no upfront cost to submit your information and review whether you may be eligible to recover. Should you choose to participate in the securities class action, they are generally handled on a contingency basis, with any attorneys' fees and expenses subject to court approval.

Q: How long will the lawsuit take to resolve? A: Securities class actions typically take two to four years from initial filing to resolution. Timing depends on the court schedule, case developments, and whether the matter is dismissed, settled, or litigated further.

Are Investors Undervaluing The Hanover Insurance Group (THG) Right Now?
THG The Hanover Insurance Group
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Here at Zacks, our focus is on the proven Zacks Rank system, which emphasizes earnings estimates and estimate revisions to find great stocks. Nevertheless, we are always paying attention to the latest value, growth, and momentum trends to underscore strong picks.

Of these, value investing is easily one of the most popular ways to find great stocks in any market environment. Value investors use fundamental analysis and traditional valuation metrics to find stocks that they believe are being undervalued by the market at large.

Zacks has developed the innovative Style Scores system to highlight stocks with specific traits. For example, value investors will be interested in stocks with great grades in the "Value" category. When paired with a high Zacks Rank, "A" grades in the Value category are among the strongest value stocks on the market today.

One company to watch right now is The Hanover Insurance Group (THG - Free Report) . THG is currently holding a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) and a Value grade of A. The stock is trading with P/E ratio of 10.86 right now. For comparison, its industry sports an average P/E of 28.38. Over the past year, THG's Forward P/E has been as high as 13.52 and as low as 10.12, with a median of 11.25.

Value investors also use the P/S ratio. The P/S ratio is calculated as price divided by sales. This is a popular metric because sales are harder to manipulate on an income statement, so they are often considered a better performance indicator. THG has a P/S ratio of 1.22. This compares to its industry's average P/S of 1.43.

These are only a few of the key metrics included in The Hanover Insurance Group's strong Value grade, but they help show that the stock is likely undervalued right now. When factoring in the strength of its earnings outlook, THG looks like an impressive value stock at the moment.

Avery Dennison Gears Up to Report Q3 Earnings: What to Expect?
AVY Avery Dennison

Key Takeaways Avery Dennison is expected to report Q3 revenues of $2.30B, up 4% y/y, with EPS falling 3%.Materials Group revenues are projected to rise, led by productivity gains and pricing actions.Solutions Group faces softer auto demand, while inventory destocking and rising costs may pressure results. Avery Dennison Corporation (AVY - Free Report) is scheduled to report third-quarter 2026 results before the opening bell on Oct. 29, 2026.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for AVY’s third-quarter revenues is pegged at $2.30 billion, indicating a 4% rise from the year-ago reported figure.

The consensus estimate for AVY’s earnings has moved down in the past 60 days. The consensus estimate is pegged at $2.30 per share, indicating a year-over-year dip of 3%.

AVY’s Earnings Surprise HistoryAvery Dennison’s earnings beat the Zacks Consensus Estimates in the trailing four quarters, the average surprise being 5.9%.

What the Zacks Model Unveils for Avery DennisonOur proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for AVY this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the chances of an earnings beat. But that is not the case here, as you can see below.

You can uncover the best stocks before they are reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.

Earnings ESP: Avery Dennison has an Earnings ESP of -0.53%.

Zacks Rank: AVY currently carries a Zacks Rank #3.

Factors Likely to Have Shaped AVY’s Q3 PerformanceAvery Dennison’s Materials Group segment continues to gain from productivity improvement and modest volume. Our model predicts the Materials Group segment’s revenues to rise 6.2% year over year in the quarter to $1.61 billion. The upside will be driven by growth in base business and high-value categories led by specialty labels, as well as contributions from productivity initiatives and pricing actions. Our estimate for the Materials Group segment’s adjusted operating profit is pinned at $235.5 million, indicating year-over-year growth of 2.3%.

High-value categories and productivity are expected to have aided the Solutions Group segment's growth. However, the segment is facing softer auto end-market demand and customer order timing in some higher-value platforms. Our model predicts the Solutions Group segment’s revenues to be $692 million, indicating a dip of 1% from the prior-year quarter’s actual. Our estimate for the segment’s operating profit is pinned at $72 million, implying an increase of 3.3% from the year-ago quarter’s reported figure.

AVY expects much of the customer inventory stocking recorded in the first half to unwind during the second half, with most destocking anticipated in the third quarter. The company consequently expects a greater-than-historical sequential earnings decline for that period.

Rising input costs are expected to have impacted the company’s margins. The impacts are anticipated to have been offset by AVY’s productivity improvement and cost-saving actions.

Avery Dennison Stock’s Price PerformanceAVY shares have inched up 0.8% in the past year compared with the industry’s growth of 7.3%.

Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both.

The research service features daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, all of which will help you become a smarter, more confident investor.

Zacks Premium includes access to the Zacks Style Scores as well.

What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.

Value ScoreValue investors love finding good stocks at good prices, especially before the broader market catches on to a stock's true value. Utilizing ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and many other multiples, the Value Style Score identifies the most attractive and most discounted stocks.

Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time.

How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank A proprietary stock-rating model, the Zacks Rank utilizes the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings outlook, to help investors create a successful portfolio.

#1 (Strong Buy) stocks have produced an unmatched +23.82% average annual return since 1988, which is more than double the S&P 500's performance over the same time frame. However, the Zacks Rank examines a ton of stocks, and there can be more than 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, and another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.

With more than 800 top-rated stocks to choose from, it can certainly feel overwhelming to pick the ones that are right for you and your investing journey.

That's where the Style Scores come in.

You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible.

The direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should always be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy, since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank.

For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well.

Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.
