NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP announces that a class action lawsuit has been filed against DICK’s Sporting Goods, Inc. (“Dick’s Sporting Goods” or the “Company”) (NYSE: DKS) on behalf of investors that purchased or otherwise acquired Dick’s Sporting Goods common stock between September 8, 2025 and August 24, 2026 (the “Class Period”).

DEADLINE REMINDER: If you are a member of the proposed Class, you may move the court no later than November 3, 2026 for an opportunity to be lead plaintiff for the purported class. If you have losses we encourage you to contact us to learn more about the lead plaintiff process. You need not seek to become a lead plaintiff in order to share in any possible recovery.

On September 8, 2025, the first day of the Class Period, Dick’s Sporting Goods announced the completion of its acquisition of Foot Locker, Inc. (“Foot Locker”) for approximately $2.5 billion in cash and stock.

The complaint alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants misled investors regarding the Company’s acquisition of Foot Locker, touting the acquisition as a strategic opportunity to drive growth and profitability while assuring investors that Foot Locker’s longstanding inventory and promotional challenges had been resolved. In reality, according to the complaint, those problems persisted, as Foot Locker remained heavily dependent on legacy footwear products that were exposed to intensifying promotional pressures across the athletic footwear industry.

The truth was allegedly revealed to investors before markets opened on August 25, 2026, when Dick’s Sporting Goods reported disappointing second-quarter 2026 results, which included revenue of $1.73 billion from Foot Locker that fell well short of analysts’ estimates of $1.81 billion. Dick’s Sporting Goods also reduced its net sales guidance for full-year 2026 and disclosed that it expected Foot Locker’s proforma comparable sales to yield a range of negative 2.0% to 0.0% for the year—down from Dick’s prior forecast of 1.5% to 3% growth.

On this news, the price of Dick’s Sporting Goods stock fell $55.02 per share, or 30.68%, to close at $124.31 per share on August 25, 2026.

("DICK'S" or the "Company") (NYSE: DKS) on behalf of investors who acquired the Company's securities from September 8, 2025 to August 24, 2026. Filed on September 4, 2026, the case is Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #295 Pension Fund v. Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc., et al., U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Case No. 2:26-cv-01860.

If you lost money on DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. securities, submit your DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. loss information by November 3, 2026 to learn about participating in the lawsuit.

DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. class action timeline

Class period begins: September 8, 2025Class period ends: August 24, 2026Complaint filed: September 4, 2026Lead plaintiff motion deadline: November 3, 2026What happened?

On August 25, 2026, DICK'S reported second quarter 2026 results, including Foot Locker revenue of $1.73 billion, well below analysts' estimates of $1.81 billion. The Company also lowered its full-year 2026 net sales guidance to a range of $21.9 billion to $22.2 billion (from $22.1 billion to $22.4 billion) and said it now expected Foot Locker's pro forma comparable sales for the year to range from negative 2.0% to 0.0%, down from its prior forecast of 1.5% to 3% growth. Executive Chairman Edward W. Stack attributed the pressure on Foot Locker in part to an athletic footwear market that had become "increasingly promotional."

On this news, DICK'S stock price fell $55.02 per share, or 30.68%, to close at $124.31 per share on August 25, 2026, thereby injuring investors.

What is the DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. lawsuit about?

The DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. securities lawsuit alleges that, between September 8, 2025 and August 24, 2026, defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements and failed to disclose material adverse facts about DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc.'s business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, the complaint alleges defendants failed to disclose that: (1) DICK'S efforts to clean up Foot Locker's inventory were not complete, and Foot Locker remained burdened with unproductive, stagnant legacy footwear; (2) Foot Locker relied heavily on legacy footwear products that were especially vulnerable to intensifying promotional pressure across the athletic footwear industry; (3) as a result, DICK'S was significantly exposed to industry-wide excess inventory and the resulting promotional activity; (4) accordingly, DICK'S could not achieve the sales growth, margins, and profits it had touted to investors; and (5) as a result, defendants' positive statements about DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc.'s business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.

"According to the complaint filed against DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc., the Company, among other things, did not disclose that DICK'S efforts to clean up Foot Locker's inventory were not complete, and Foot Locker remained burdened with unproductive, stagnant legacy footwear. The November 3, 2026 deadline is a key date for DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. investors who want a voice in how this case moves forward," said Frank R. Cruz of The Law Offices of Frank R. Cruz.

Will Kratos (KTOS) Beat Estimates Again in Its Next Earnings Report?
KTOS Kratos Defense & Security Solutions
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Looking for a stock that has been consistently beating earnings estimates and might be well positioned to keep the streak alive in its next quarterly report? Kratos (KTOS - Free Report) , which belongs to the Zacks Aerospace - Defense Equipment industry, could be a great candidate to consider.

When looking at the last two reports, this military contractor has recorded a strong streak of surpassing earnings estimates. The company has topped estimates by 42.31%, on average, in the last two quarters.

For the most recent quarter, Kratos was expected to post earnings of $0.13 per share, but it reported $0.21 per share instead, representing a surprise of 61.54%. For the previous quarter, the consensus estimate was $0.13 per share, while it actually produced $0.16 per share, a surprise of 23.08%.

Price and EPS Surprise

For Kratos, estimates have been trending higher, thanks in part to this earnings surprise history. And when you look at the stock's positive Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction), it's a great indicator of a future earnings beat, especially when combined with its solid Zacks Rank.

Our research shows that stocks with the combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) or better produce a positive surprise nearly 70% of the time. In other words, if you have 10 stocks with this combination, the number of stocks that beat the consensus estimate could be as high as seven.

The Zacks Earnings ESP compares the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the quarter; the Most Accurate Estimate is a version of the Zacks Consensus whose definition is related to change. The idea here is that analysts revising their estimates right before an earnings release have the latest information, which could potentially be more accurate than what they and others contributing to the consensus had predicted earlier.

Kratos has an Earnings ESP of +8.78% at the moment, suggesting that analysts have grown bullish on its near-term earnings potential. When you combine this positive Earnings ESP with the stock's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), it shows that another beat is possibly around the corner.

With the Earnings ESP metric, it's important to note that a negative value reduces its predictive power; however, a negative Earnings ESP does not indicate an earnings miss.

Many companies end up beating the consensus EPS estimate, but that may not be the sole basis for their stocks moving higher. On the other hand, some stocks may hold their ground even if they end up missing the consensus estimate.

Because of this, it's really important to check a company's Earnings ESP ahead of its quarterly release to increase the odds of success. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

5 Beaten-Down Growth Stocks Trading Like Value Plays as Cash Chases Mega-Caps
KTOS Kratos Defense & Security Solutions
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The S&P 500 recently sat just 2.5% below its all-time high. Look past the index, though, and the picture gets uglier. Roughly 40% of its members were trading below their 50-day moving averages, and about 1 in 3 had already slipped into a bear market.

That split explains why so many portfolios lag in what looks like a strong market. Gains have pooled in a handful of mega-caps such as NVIDIA NASDAQ: NVDA and Amazon.com NASDAQ: AMZN. Many of the high-growth names investors loved a year ago sit 20% to 30% below their highs, or worse.

By one growth strategist's count, some of those laggards now trade at price-to-earnings (P/E) ratios under 20 while growing revenue 30% to 40% a year. When growth gets priced like value, the real question isn't whether the businesses work. It's whether the market has simply stopped paying attention.

Beaten-Down Growth Stocks Turn Into Value Plays as Money Crowds Into Mega-CapsMatt McCall, Head Innovations Strategist at Monument Traders Alliance, frames the disconnect as a money-flow problem, not a fundamentals problem. Only so much investable capital exists, and lately it has crowded into companies the market views as pure AI plays.

Biotech shows the pattern. Breakthroughs have accelerated for years while stocks have lagged because money has gone to AI. The next leg, in McCall's view, could rotate from mega-caps toward the mid- and small-cap companies driving AI's next phase.

His record gives that patience weight. Over roughly 20 years, more than 60 of his picks have gained at least 10-fold, by his count. At the March 2009 market bottom, his eight-stock "Andrew Jackson portfolio" included two future bankruptcies, General Motors NYSE: GM and Eastman Kodak NYSE: KODK, alongside Advanced Micro Devices NASDAQ: AMD at about $2. None of his big winners went straight up. Each survived steep pullbacks along the way.

Semiconductor Testing Offers a Low-Cost Path to Robotics and Quantum ComputingTwo of the five picks share a playbook: buy a profitable chip-testing business and get an emerging megatrend almost free.

Teradyne NASDAQ: TER, the largest of the group at roughly $50 billion, is known for semiconductor test equipment. It also runs two robotics divisions, including collaborative robots, or cobots, like the automated arms on factory floors. McCall treats it as his blue-chip robotics holding.

The growth is hard to ignore. Per McCall, estimates call for about 130% earnings growth this year and roughly 30% annually after that, with revenue up 61%. Robotics is growing quickly off a small base. The stock has climbed over 100% in the last 12 months but pulled back, partly because big beats are already expected.

Watch whether robotics grows large enough for the market to value it on its own.

FormFactor NASDAQ: FORM, at about $8 billion, applies the same logic to quantum computing. It tests chips at cryogenic temperatures, and two of the three main quantum approaches need extreme cold to work. Whether IonQ NYSE: IONQ, Rigetti Computing NASDAQ: RGTI, D-Wave Quantum NASDAQ: QBTS or an unknown private player wins, the testing still has to happen.

Breakthrough claims from Quantinuum NASDAQ: QNT and from Google parent Alphabet NASDAQ: GOOGL keep the theme alive, though real use cases may not arrive until around 2030 on McCall's timeline. Meanwhile, Quantum is still a small slice of revenue, so the stock hasn't traded in lockstep with the rest of the industry.

Grail NASDAQ: GRAL is the binary bet.

Its Galleri blood test screens for more than 50 cancers, potentially as early as stage zero, and an FDA advisory committee recommended it in September. Approval looks likely in early 2027 in McCall's view, with Medicare coverage the bigger prize, since the test targets people over 50.

The stock more than doubled in a couple of months on that hope, after losing nearly half its value in a single week within the past year. At roughly $5 billion in market value, a move to $20 billion would be a 4x, and a buyout by a giant like Johnson & Johnson NYSE: JNJ is plausible, per McCall. A regulatory stumble is the obvious risk.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions NASDAQ: KTOS sits at the opposite end of the sentiment cycle, about 70% below its peak by McCall's estimate. The $7.5 billion company builds unmanned aircraft that fall between small drones and fighter jets, competing with Lockheed Martin NYSE: LMT and RTX NYSE: RTX.

Drone stocks like Red Cat Holdings NASDAQ: RCAT and Ondas Holdings NASDAQ: ONDS surged and slumped together, and four drone ETFs launching at once looked like a classic short-term top. With proposals to lift U.S. defense spending from about $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion and Kratos already holding government contracts, a return to fair value alone could mean a double, in McCall's view.

He prefers spreading drone exposure across three or four stocks rather than buying an ETF.

Fabrinet NYSE: FN, a roughly $11 billion company, supplies the photonics and optics that move data faster inside data centers. It's down about 25% over the past year as investors debate an AI bubble and the circular financing behind the buildout.

The parallel McCall draws is 1995, not 1999. Skeptics thought the internet had peaked, yet the S&P 500 roughly tripled through 1999, even after Alan Greenspan's 1996 "irrational exuberance" warning. Cisco Systems NASDAQ: CSCO built the networks and became one of the era's biggest winners.

Fabrinet plays a similar picks-and-shovels role today, and without that infrastructure, AI stalls.

Discounted Prices on Intact Growth Stories Reward Patience Over TimingTeradyne, FormFactor, Grail, Kratos, and Fabrinet each ride a long-running shift, from robotics and quantum computing to early cancer detection, autonomous defense and data center buildouts. Each has been marked down while its underlying story held. The stories haven't broken. The prices have.

None of this depends on calling a bottom, which McCall freely admits nobody can do. It does depend on execution—Teradyne sustaining its earnings pace, Grail clearing regulators, Kratos winning drone dollars, FormFactor's quantum work scaling and AI spending holding up for Fabrinet.

The risk is that a regulatory miss, a data center slowdown or a deeper risk-off move keeps these names under pressure longer. The upside is that money rotating out of crowded mega-caps could find smaller, cheaper growth stories fast.

Expect volatility either way. Stay focused on earnings delivery and catalyst milestones, because that's what moves high-growth stocks out of the bargain bin.

Neurocrine Biosciences (NBIX) Earnings Expected to Grow: Should You Buy?
NBIX Neurocrine Biosciences
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Neurocrine Biosciences (NBIX - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook gives a good sense of the company's earnings picture, but how the actual results compare to these estimates is a powerful factor that could impact its near-term stock price.

The earnings report, which is expected to be released on November 2, might help the stock move higher if these key numbers are better than expectations. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

While the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call, it's worth handicapping the probability of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis biopharmaceutical company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $2.57 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +26%.

Revenues are expected to be $1.04 billion, up 31.1% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 0.21% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.

Investors should keep in mind that the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts may not always get reflected in the aggregate change.

Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise

Earnings WhisperEstimate revisions ahead of a company's earnings release offer clues to the business conditions for the period whose results are coming out. Our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction) -- has this insight at its core.

The Zacks Earnings ESP compares the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the quarter; the Most Accurate Estimate is a more recent version of the Zacks Consensus EPS estimate. The idea here is that analysts revising their estimates right before an earnings release have the latest information, which could potentially be more accurate than what they and others contributing to the consensus had predicted earlier.

Thus, a positive or negative Earnings ESP reading theoretically indicates the likely deviation of the actual earnings from the consensus estimate. However, the model's predictive power is significant for positive ESP readings only.

A positive Earnings ESP is a strong predictor of an earnings beat, particularly when combined with a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold). Our research shows that stocks with this combination produce a positive surprise nearly 70% of the time, and a solid Zacks Rank actually increases the predictive power of Earnings ESP.

Please note that a negative Earnings ESP reading is not indicative of an earnings miss. Our research shows that it is difficult to predict an earnings beat with any degree of confidence for stocks with negative Earnings ESP readings and/or Zacks Rank of 4 (Sell) or 5 (Strong Sell).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Neurocrine? For Neurocrine, the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -4.23%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Neurocrine will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Neurocrine would post earnings of $2.26 per share when it actually produced earnings of $2.85, delivering a surprise of +26.11%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates three times.

Bottom LineAn earnings beat or miss may not be the sole basis for a stock moving higher or lower. Many stocks end up losing ground despite an earnings beat due to other factors that disappoint investors. Similarly, unforeseen catalysts help a number of stocks gain despite an earnings miss.

That said, betting on stocks that are expected to beat earnings expectations does increase the odds of success. This is why it's worth checking a company's Earnings ESP and Zacks Rank ahead of its quarterly release. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Neurocrine doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Stay on top of upcoming earnings announcements with the Zacks Earnings Calendar.

The market expects Williams Companies, Inc. (The) (WMB - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.

The earnings report, which is expected to be released on November 2, might help the stock move higher if these key numbers are better than expectations. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis pipeline operator is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.56 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +14.3%.

Revenues are expected to be $3.19 billion, up 9% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 1.02% higher over the last 30 days to the current level. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.

Investors should keep in mind that an aggregate change may not always reflect the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for The Williams Companies? For The Williams Companies, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +1.65%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination indicates that The Williams Companies will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that The Williams Companies would post earnings of $0.52 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.50, delivering a surprise of -3.85%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates just once.

The Williams Companies appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Will Woodward (WWD) Beat Estimates Again in Its Next Earnings Report?
WWD Woodward
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Have you been searching for a stock that might be well-positioned to maintain its earnings-beat streak in its upcoming report? It is worth considering Woodward (WWD - Free Report) , which belongs to the Zacks Aerospace - Defense Equipment industry.

This maker of cockpit controls and other equipment for the defense and aerospace markets has seen a nice streak of beating earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports. The average surprise for the last two quarters was 9.47%.

For the last reported quarter, Woodward came out with earnings of $2.52 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.39 per share, representing a surprise of 5.44%. For the previous quarter, the company was expected to post earnings of $2 per share and it actually produced earnings of $2.27 per share, delivering a surprise of 13.50%.

Price and EPS Surprise

For Woodward, estimates have been trending higher, thanks in part to this earnings surprise history.

Woodward currently has an Earnings ESP of +0.87%, which suggests that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This positive Earnings ESP when combined with the stock's Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) indicates that another beat is possibly around the corner.

With the Earnings ESP metric, it's important to note that a negative value reduces its predictive power; however, a negative Earnings ESP does not indicate an earnings miss.

Many companies end up beating the consensus EPS estimate, though this is not the only reason why their shares gain. Additionally, some stocks may remain stable even if they end up missing the consensus estimate.

Because of this, it's really important to check a company's Earnings ESP ahead of its quarterly release to increase the odds of success. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Zions (ZION) Upgraded to Buy: What Does It Mean for the Stock?
ZION Zions Bancorporation
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Zions (ZION - Free Report) appears an attractive pick, as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). This upgrade primarily reflects an upward trend in earnings estimates, which is one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices.

A company's changing earnings picture is at the core of the Zacks rating. The system tracks the Zacks Consensus Estimate -- the consensus measure of EPS estimates from the sell-side analysts covering the stock -- for the current and following years.

The power of a changing earnings picture in determining near-term stock price movements makes the Zacks rating system highly useful for individual investors, since it can be difficult to make decisions based on rating upgrades by Wall Street analysts. These are mostly driven by subjective factors that are hard to see and measure in real time.

Therefore, the Zacks rating upgrade for Zions basically reflects positivity about its earnings outlook that could translate into buying pressure and an increase in its stock price.

Most Powerful Force Impacting Stock PricesThe change in a company's future earnings potential, as reflected in earnings estimate revisions, has proven to be strongly correlated with the near-term price movement of its stock. The influence of institutional investors has a partial contribution to this relationship, as these big professionals use earnings and earnings estimates to calculate the fair value of a company's shares. An increase or decrease in earnings estimates in their valuation models simply results in higher or lower fair value for a stock, and institutional investors typically buy or sell it. Their transaction of large amounts of shares then leads to price movement for the stock.

Fundamentally speaking, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade for Zions imply an improvement in the company's underlying business. Investors should show their appreciation for this improving business trend by pushing the stock higher.

Harnessing the Power of Earnings Estimate RevisionsEmpirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock movements, so it could be truly rewarding if such revisions are tracked for making an investment decision. Here is where the tried-and-tested Zacks Rank stock-rating system plays an important role, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions.

The Zacks Rank stock-rating system, which uses four factors related to earnings estimates to classify stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), has an impressive externally-audited track record, with Zacks Rank #1 stocks generating an average annual return of +25% since 1988. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> .

Earnings Estimate Revisions for ZionsThis financial holding company is expected to earn $7.85 per share for the fiscal year ending December 2026, which represents no year-over-year change.

Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for Zions. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 1.8%.

Bottom LineUnlike the overly optimistic Wall Street analysts whose rating systems tend to be weighted toward favorable recommendations, the Zacks rating system maintains an equal proportion of "buy" and "sell" ratings for its entire universe of more than 4,000 stocks at any point in time. Irrespective of market conditions, only the top 5% of the Zacks-covered stocks get a "Strong Buy" rating and the next 15% get a "Buy" rating. So, the placement of a stock in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks indicates its superior earnings estimate revision feature, making it a solid candidate for producing market-beating returns in the near term.

You can learn more about the Zacks Rank here >>>

The upgrade of Zions to a Zacks Rank #2 positions it in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term.

Weyerhaeuser to Report Q3 Earnings: Here's What Investors Must Know
WY Weyerhaeuser
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways WY's Wood Products segment may benefit from higher lumber volumes, realizations and EWP price adjustments.Timberlands faces pressure from lower sales realizations and reduced Japan shipments due to vessel timing.Higher fuel, resin and manufacturing costs may weigh on earnings, partly offset by lower lumber costs. Weyerhaeuser Company (WY - Free Report) is slated to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 29, after the closing bell.

In the last reported quarter, Weyerhaeuser’s adjusted earnings topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 116.7%, while net sales surpassed the same by 4%. Meanwhile, on a year-over-year basis, adjusted earnings increased, but net sales declined. The company reported adjusted earnings of 13 cents per share, up 8.3% from 12 cents in the year-ago period. Net sales of $1.87 billion decreased 0.9% from the $1.89 billion reported in the year-ago quarter.

Weyerhaeuser’s earnings beat the consensus mark in each of the past four quarters, with the average surprise being 127%.

How Are Estimates Placed for Weyerhaeuser Stock? The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the to-be-reported quarter’s earnings per share (EPS) has decreased to 5 cents from 8 cents over the past 30 days. In the year-ago quarter, the company reported an EPS of 6 cents.

The consensus mark for net sales is pegged at $1.83 billion, indicating a 6.3% year-over-year rise.

Factors Influencing WY’s Q3 ResultsRevenuesWeyerhaeuser’s third-quarter 2026 revenues are expected to have increased year over year, supported by anticipated growth in Wood Products sales volumes and higher lumber realizations. However, performance is likely to have varied across segments, reflecting differences in product pricing, demand and transaction timing.

Within Wood Products, which accounted for approximately 72.8% of second-quarter 2026 net sales, higher lumber production and sales volumes are expected to have supported revenues. Higher lumber realizations and planned engineered wood products (“EWP”) price adjustments might have provided additional support. However, OSB realizations are expected to have remained under pressure from supply exceeding demand. Our model predicts the Wood Products segment’s net sales to increase 11.1% year over year to $1.36 billion in the third quarter.

Timberlands, which accounted for approximately 27.7% of second-quarter 2026 net sales, is likely to have faced pressure from lower average domestic sales realizations due to product mix in the West and lower sales realizations in the North. Lower sales volumes to Japan due to vessel timing might have also weighed on revenues. Our model predicts the Timberlands segment’s net sales to decline 3% to $519.9 million.

For Strategic Land Solutions (formerly Real Estate, Energy & Natural Resources), which accounted for approximately 7.5% of second-quarter 2026 net sales, revenue performance is likely to have depended on the timing and mix of real estate transactions and activity across its businesses. Our model predicts the segment’s net sales to be $100.6 million, down 2.3% year over year.

EarningsWeyerhaeuser’s third-quarter 2026 earnings are expected to have declined year over year, as higher fuel and manufacturing costs in Wood Products are likely to have offset some benefits from improved sales volumes and pricing. The company expects Timberlands earnings and adjusted EBITDA to be slightly higher than second-quarter levels, while Strategic Land Solutions earnings and adjusted EBITDA are expected to decline approximately $30 million and $45 million, respectively, due primarily to the timing and mix of real estate sales.

Our model predicts Timberlands’ adjusted EBITDA to decline 13.3% from a year ago to $128.3 million. For Strategic Land Solutions, adjusted EBITDA is expected to decline 11.4% from a year ago to $80.6 million.

Within Wood Products, the company expects third-quarter earnings and adjusted EBITDA to be moderately lower sequentially by approximately $30 million, excluding changes in average sales realizations for lumber and oriented strand board (“OSB”). Higher-than-expected fuel costs and an unfavorable mix shift in EWP are the primary reasons for the revised outlook.

Our model predicts Wood Products adjusted EBITDA to grow year over year to $102.5 million in the third quarter. Higher fuel costs, planned OSB maintenance and increased resin costs are expected to have pressured margins, while slightly lower lumber unit manufacturing costs might have partly offset these pressures.

What Our Model Unveils for WY StockOur proven model does not predict an earnings beat for Weyerhaeuser this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat. That is not the case here.

What the Zacks Model UnveilsOur proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for Willis Towers this time around. Wealth business revenues are likely to have benefited from higher levels of retirement work across all regions.

Career revenues are likely to have been affected by increased levels of communications project work and broad-based pay work, which were likely to be offset by constrained revenues in the Middle East due to the ongoing conflict.

Expenses in the third quarter are likely to have increased, attributable to higher salary expense, higher professional services costs, increased local office expenses, a higher depreciable base of assets, and higher interest expense. Wall Street Analysts Think XPO (XPO) Could Surge 25.94%: Read This Before Placing a Bet
XPO XPO Logistics
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Shares of XPO (XPO - Free Report) have gained 5.8% over the past four weeks to close the last trading session at $183.21, but there could still be a solid upside left in the stock if short-term price targets of Wall Street analysts are any indication. Going by the price targets, the mean estimate of $230.73 indicates a potential upside of 25.9%.

The average comprises 22 short-term price targets ranging from a low of $115.00 to a high of $275.00, with a standard deviation of $32.91. While the lowest estimate indicates a decline of 37.2% from the current price level, the most optimistic estimate points to a 50.1% upside. More than the range, one should note the standard deviation here, as it helps understand the variability of the estimates. The smaller the standard deviation, the greater the agreement among analysts.

While the consensus price target is highly sought after by investors, the ability and unbiasedness of analysts in setting price targets have long been questionable. And investors making investment decisions solely based on this tool would arguably do themselves a disservice.

But, for XPO, an impressive average price target is not the only indicator of a potential upside. Strong agreement among analysts about the company's ability to report better earnings than they predicted earlier strengthens this view. While a positive trend in earnings estimate revisions doesn't gauge how much a stock could gain, it has proven to be powerful in predicting an upside.

Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise

Here's What You May Not Know About Analysts' Price TargetsAccording to researchers at several universities across the globe, a price target is one of many pieces of information about a stock that misleads investors far more often than it guides. In fact, empirical research shows that price targets set by several analysts, irrespective of the extent of agreement, rarely indicate where the price of a stock could actually be heading.

While Wall Street analysts have deep knowledge of a company's fundamentals and the sensitivity of its business to economic and industry issues, many of them tend to set overly optimistic price targets. Are you wondering why?

They usually do that to drum up interest in shares of companies that their firms either have existing business relationships with or are looking to be associated with. In other words, business incentives of firms covering a stock often result in inflated price targets set by analysts.

However, a tight clustering of price targets, which is represented by a low standard deviation, indicates that analysts have a high degree of agreement about the direction and magnitude of a stock's price movement. While that doesn't necessarily mean the stock will hit the average price target, it could be a good starting point for further research aimed at identifying the potential fundamental driving forces.

That said, while investors should not entirely ignore price targets, making an investment decision solely based on them could lead to disappointing ROI. So, price targets should always be treated with a high degree of skepticism.

Why XPO Could Witness a Solid UpsideThere has been increasing optimism among analysts lately about the company's earnings prospects, as indicated by strong agreement among them in revising EPS estimates higher. And that could be a legitimate reason to expect an upside in the stock. After all, empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.

For the current year, six estimates have moved higher over the last 30 days compared to no negative revision. As a result, the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased 0.9%.

Moreover, XPO currently has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), which means it is in the top 20% of more than 4,000 stocks that we rank based on four factors related to earnings estimates. Given an impressive externally-audited track record, this is a more conclusive indication of the stock's potential upside in the near term. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> .

Therefore, while the consensus price target may not be a reliable indicator of how much XPO could gain, the direction of price movement it implies does appear to be a good guide.

Scénář, v němž AI nepřinese vůbec nic
DBK Deutsche Bank
Patria Stock News
Original source text

Zdroj: X

A u PCE v podstatě dosažení inflačního cíle. Pokud by ale ekonomika jela pár let pod potenciálem, dezinflace by měla být větší.
**Na detailnější úrovni se rovnováha projeví zejména tím, že klesne význam investic firemních a investice do bydlení přestanou být brzdou a začnou růstu pomáhat.

Woodside in Talks With QatarEnergy for Long-Term LNG Supply Deal
LNG Cheniere Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Woodside is reportedly discussing a deal to supply QatarEnergy with up to 3 MTPA of LNG for 15-20 years. The proposed 3 MTPA deal would cover about 18% of Woodside's planned 16.5 MTPA Louisiana LNG capacity.QatarEnergy is seeking U.S. LNG supplies after strikes damaged 17% of Qatar's export capacity.
Woodside Energy Group Ltd (WDS - Free Report) is reportedly in discussions with QatarEnergy to supply up to 3 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) from its Louisiana LNG export project in the United States. According to Reuters, the potential agreement could extend for 15-20 years, offering Woodside an opportunity to secure long-term sales commitments for its developing LNG infrastructure.

The Louisiana LNG facility, currently under construction, is designed to produce 16.5 MTPA. Although neither company has officially confirmed the negotiations, a finalized agreement could strengthen Woodside's future revenue visibility and support the commercialization of its U.S. LNG capacity.

Woodside's Louisiana LNG Project Attracts Buyer InterestThe reported discussions highlight the commercial potential of Woodside's Louisiana LNG development. A supply commitment of 3 MTPA would represent approximately 18% of the project's planned annual production capacity.

Securing such a long-term arrangement could provide greater certainty over future LNG sales and help Woodside market a substantial portion of the facility's output. The project is also reportedly seeking liquefaction fees exceeding $2.50 per million British thermal units, above prevailing U.S. market levels.

Woodside's proposed pricing reflects the flexibility offered to potential customers, including shorter contract durations at higher rates. This commercial approach could support attractive returns, although the final pricing and duration of any QatarEnergy agreement remain uncertain.

QatarEnergy's Supply Diversification Creates OpportunitiesQatarEnergy's interest in Woodside follows significant disruptions to its LNG operations in Qatar. Iranian strikes in March damaged two production trains at the Ras Laffan industrial complex, affecting approximately 17% of the country's LNG export capacity. Repair work is expected to take several years.

Additionally, restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz have disrupted Qatari LNG exports, prompting QatarEnergy to purchase U.S. spot-market cargoes to fulfill customer obligations.

These developments have accelerated QatarEnergy's efforts to secure longer-term LNG supplies from American exporters. For Woodside, the situation could create opportunities to expand its customer base and strengthen its position in international LNG markets.

Cheniere Agreement Highlights Growing U.S. LNG DemandQatarEnergy's reported negotiations with Woodside come alongside its expanding relationships with other U.S. LNG suppliers.

As highlighted earlier, QatarEnergy had been exploring supply arrangements with Cheniere Energy, Inc. (LNG - Free Report) , Venture Global, Inc. (VG - Free Report) and Woodside to compensate for production disruptions. The discussions initially focused on securing replacement volumes through 2031.

Since then, QatarEnergy has reached a long-term agreement with Cheniere to purchase 4 MTPA of LNG, split equally between the Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana and Corpus Christi in Texas. Deliveries by Cheniere are expected to begin in 2031 and continue through 2054.

QatarEnergy is also reportedly in advanced discussions with Venture Global to purchase at least 3 MTPA. If the proposed agreements with Woodside and Venture Global materialize, QatarEnergy's combined U.S. LNG procurement commitments under these arrangements could reach at least 10 MTPA.

What the Potential Agreement Means for WoodsideThe reported negotiations could represent a significant commercial opportunity for Woodside, currently sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), as it advances the Louisiana LNG development. A long-term contract with QatarEnergy could strengthen future sales visibility, improve utilization prospects and support the project's long-term cash flow potential.

However, the discussions remain preliminary, and the proposed volumes, contract duration and pricing are therefore not finalized.

Nevertheless, QatarEnergy's increasing reliance on U.S. LNG underscores the strategic importance of Woodside's Louisiana investment. Successfully securing major customers could strengthen Woodside's position in the expanding global LNG supply market.

Xylem Gears Up to Post Q3 Earnings: What's in the Cards?
XYL Xylem
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways XYL's Q3 earnings are expected to grow 7.3% year over year, while revenues are projected to increase 0.4%.Strong infrastructure demand, data-center growth and the TriOS buyout are likely to support XYL's revenues.XYL's negative Earnings ESP of -1.27%, project delays and rising costs cloud its Q3 earnings outlook.
Xylem Inc. (XYL - Free Report) is scheduled to release third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 27, before market open.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for XYL’s third-quarter revenues is pegged at $2.28 billion, indicating growth of 0.4% from the prior-year quarter’s number. The consensus mark for earnings is pinned at $1.47 per share, which has been stable in the past 60 days. The figure indicates an increase of 7.3% from the year-ago quarter’s figure.

The company’s earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate thrice in the trailing four quarters and matched the mark in one, the average surprise being 5.6%.

Let’s see how things have shaped up for Xylem this earnings season.

Factors Likely to Have Shaped XYL’s Quarterly PerformanceStrength in the transport application business, aided by increased infrastructure projects in the United States, is likely to have supported the Water Infrastructure segment’s performance. However, weakness in the water treatment business and lower demand in China are likely to have been a spoilsport. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the Water Infrastructure segment’s revenues is pegged at $668 million, indicating 1.8% growth from the year-ago figure.

Electric metering project delays are expected to have affected the performance of the Measurement & Control Solutions (M&CS) segment in the third quarter. However, growing popularity for the company’s advanced metering solutions is likely to have offered some respite. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the M&CS segment’s revenues is pinned at $486 million, reflecting a 6.9% decline from the year-ago quarter’s figure.

Strength in the Applied Water segment, supported by higher demand in commercial building and data-center markets, is likely to augment the segment’s results. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the Applied Water segment’s revenues is pegged at $469 million, indicating 2.9% growth from the year-ago figure.

Recovery in Xylem’s dewatering applications business across utility and power end markets is likely to augment the Water Solutions and Services segment’s results. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the Water Solutions and Services segment’s revenues is pegged at $671 million, indicating 5.8% growth year over year.

XYL’s acquisition of TriOS (in July 2026) added optical sensing and water-quality monitoring technology to the M&CS segment. This buyout is expected to bolster the company’s top-line results in the to-be-reported quarter.

However, XYL’s bottom line is likely to have reflected the impact of inflationary pressures in the third quarter. Also, increased spending on strategic investments is expected to have hurt its margins.

Earnings WhisperOur proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for Xylem this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat, which is not the case here, as elaborated below.

Otis Worldwide to Post Q3 Earnings: What's in the Cards for the Stock?
OTIS Otis Worldwide Corp
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Otis Worldwide's Q3 sales are projected to rise 4.3% to $3.85 billion, while EPS may fall 4.8% to $1.Repair and modernization demand may lift Service sales 5.3%, while New Equipment sales may fall 1.2%.Labor and material costs may push Service and New Equipment operating margins down 60 and 160 bps.
Otis Worldwide Corporation (OTIS - Free Report) is scheduled to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 28, before the opening bell.

In the last reported quarter, the company’s earnings beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1%, and net sales topped it by 3.7%. On a year-over-year basis, the bottom line declined 3.8%, while the top line grew 7.3%.

OTIS’ earnings surpassed the consensus mark in two of the trailing four quarters, missed on one occasion and met on the remaining occasion, with an average surprise of 1%.

How Are Estimates Placed for OTIS Stock? For the third quarter, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings per share (EPS) has trended downward to $1 from 99 cents in the past 30 days. The estimated figure indicates a 4.8% decline from the year-ago adjusted EPS of $1.05.

The consensus mark for net sales is pegged at $3.85 billion, indicating 4.3% growth from the year-ago figure of $3.7 billion.

Key Factors to Note for OTIS’ Q3 EarningsSales

Otis Worldwide’s third-quarter performance is likely to have benefited from continued momentum in its Service segment, which accounted for 66.9% of second-quarter 2026 net sales. Strong repair and modernization demand, along with improving maintenance trends, is expected to have kept the segment a primary growth driver. Management projects mid-single-digit growth in Service organic sales for the third quarter, supported by repair and modernization activity, although modernization growth is expected to have moderated sequentially. The company’s focus on service quality, pricing initiatives and backlog execution is also likely to have supported revenue growth in the to-be-reported quarter.

Maintenance and repair initiatives are also likely to have supported performance. Otis Worldwide continues to implement value-driven micro-pricing strategies and proactive repair offerings to strengthen customer engagement and improve pricing realization. The company previously outlined approximately $35 million in incremental repair pricing benefits for 2026. These initiatives, alongside higher repair volumes, are expected to have supported third-quarter Service performance.

The company’s Service Excellence and digital initiatives are likely to have aided operational execution. Otis Worldwide has been investing in service quality, field productivity and customer retention, supported by AI-assisted tools and standardized operating processes. Continued implementation of these initiatives, along with its broader Service Operating Model, is likely to have strengthened customer service and execution capabilities in the quarter under review.

However, weakness in the New Equipment segment, which accounted for 33.1% of second-quarter 2026 net sales, is likely to have partly constrained third-quarter top-line growth. Although management expects sales trends to improve sequentially, subdued construction activity and pricing pressure in China, alongside demand challenges in the Middle East and Southern Europe, are likely to have weighed on the segment’s performance.

For the third quarter, our Zacks model predicts the Service segment’s net sales to increase year over year by 5.3% to $2.56 billion, with the New Equipment segment’s net sales declining 1.2% to $1.24 billion.

Margins

On the margin front, higher labor and material costs, productivity challenges and ongoing Service investments are expected to have remained headwinds. Longer onboarding periods for skilled mechanics and higher labor rates associated with accelerating repair and modernization execution are likely to have continued affecting profitability in the to-be-reported quarter. We expect the adjusted operating margin in the Service and New Equipment segments to contract 60 basis points (bps) and 160 bps year over year to 24% and 3.1%, respectively.

Moreover, delayed improvements in maintenance customer retention and a measured approach to incremental micro-pricing are expected to have limited margin recovery. Management previously identified approximately $20 million in retention and maintenance pricing-related headwinds and an additional $50 million in productivity and field-cost pressures relative to its earlier full-year outlook. For the to-be-reported quarter, our model expects SG&A expenses to increase year over year by 2.8% to $518.3 million. Although higher repair pricing, modernization volumes and cost-reduction initiatives are expected to have provided some support, these benefits may have been partly offset by continued operating cost pressures.

What Our Model Unveils for OTISOur proven model does not predict an earnings beat for Otis Worldwide this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat. However, it is not the case here.

OTIS’ Earnings ESP: The company has an Earnings ESP of -0.57%. You can uncover the best stocks before they’re reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.

OTIS’ Zacks Rank: Currently, the stock carries a Zacks Rank #3.

Stocks With the Favorable CombinationHere are some companies from the Industrial Products sector, which, according to our model, have the right combination of elements to post an earnings beat in their respective quarters to be reported.

Eaton Corporation plc (ETN - Free Report) has an Earnings ESP of +0.45% and a Zacks Rank of 2 at present. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank stocks here.

Eaton’s earnings topped the consensus mark in three of the last four quarters and met on the remaining occasion, with the average surprise being 1.3%. Earnings for ETN’s third quarter of 2026 are expected to grow 15% year over year.

Kennametal Inc. (KMT - Free Report) currently has an Earnings ESP of +1.50% and a Zacks Rank of 3.

Lumentum Jumps 8% as StoneX Starts Coverage With $1,200 Target; Applied Optoelectronics and Coherent Climb 6%
LITE Lumentum Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
A single Buy rating from a firm new to the name sent optical networking stocks surging well past the broader market, raising a pointed question about whether this is a genuine sector rebound or just a short-lived bounce after a…

A fresh Buy rating from StoneX is pulling optical networking stocks higher, and Lumentum Holdings (NASDAQ:LITE | LITE Price Prediction) is out in front. Lumentum stock is up 8% to $819.98 in afternoon trading, a gain that shows buyers returning to the AI optics trade after a rough month for the group.

At the same time, shares of Applied Optoelectronics (NASDAQ:AAOI) are at $71.85, up 6%, running a close second to the leader. Coherent (NYSE:COHR) stock is at $220.93, up 6%, matching Applied Optoelectronics pace for pace. That breadth shows the buying reaches across optics, well beyond the single stock that drew the new analyst coverage.

Fund figures tell the same story with less force. The Roundhill Photonics & Optics ETF (CBOE:LYTE) is up 4% to $18.96, a gain that trails the aforementioned individual optics stocks. Meanwhile, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) is up 0.7% to $765.32, leaving the optics names well ahead of the broad market.

StoneX Initiation Sparks Optics Rebound
StoneX started coverage of Lumentum stock with a Buy rating and a $1,200 price target. Lumentum makes lasers and optical components for data center and telecom networks. That puts the company directly in the path of AI infrastructure spending by cloud operators. A bullish initiation from a firm that’s new to the name carries extra weight after the pressure optics stocks have absorbed.

Optics stocks slid steeply over the past month before the initiation landed. Questions about how customers will fund large AI infrastructure projects weighed on the timing of orders for optical components across the group. Against that background, the rally in Lumentum shares offers an early read on whether a bullish analyst view can pull the sector out of its slide.

Optics Buying Spreads Past Lumentum
Coherent makes optical transceivers and the materials behind them, with a technology stack that runs from compound semiconductors up through finished modules. That vertical reach gives Coherent more control over its supply chain as AI data centers shift from copper to optical connections between servers. The risk is that Coherent is spending heavily to expand capacity, and the order-timing questions that hit the group apply to its transceiver business as well.

Applied Optoelectronics makes fiber-optic transceivers and lasers, and its revenue is concentrated among a small number of large customers. Such a customer base cuts both ways, since one big order can lift results sharply while a delay from a single buyer can leave a visible gap. Next to Coherent’s broader portfolio, Applied Optoelectronics offers a narrower way to participate in the optics expansion, with less diversification behind it.

Roundhill’s photonics fund gives Lumentum and Coherent its two heaviest weights, alongside several overseas optical suppliers and a smaller stake in Applied Optoelectronics. Owning a wider basket spreads the fund’s risk across many names, moderating both its upside and its downside relative to any single optics stock, yet this diversified basket is still moving higher, showing that the buying reaches past the three stocks leading the group.

What the StoneX Call Means for Lumentum and the Optics Rebound
The next test for Lumentum is whether AI customers turn their expansion plans into firm optical orders, since a rating initiation sparks interest but sustained gains depend on order flow that confirms the bullish view.

Momentum favors Lumentum for now, though gains this sharp after a steep slide can fade quickly if order data disappoints. Investors should keep their position sizes modest while the AI funding issue is still in flux.

How to Build $10,900 a Month in Dividend Income From Three Income Buckets
VICI VICI Properties
FMP Stock News
Original source text
A six-figure monthly paycheck from dividends sounds straightforward until you see how three very different buckets fight each other, and which one quietly carries most of the risk.

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

Pulling in $10,900 a month adds up to $130,800 a year, a solid six-figure paycheck that lands every month without a job attached. So how much capital does it actually take to get there on dividends alone? We’ll run the numbers using a three-bucket portfolio split across VIG (15%), FDVV (15%), SPYD (10%), VICI (10%), STAG (10%), GPIX (15%), GBDC (10%), and JAAA (15%).

Your Number at Three Yield Levels The formula is simple as you divide the income target by the yield to get the capital you need.

Using a 3.5% rate, $130,800 divided by 0.035 is about $3.74 million. Using a 6% rate, $130,800 divided by 0.06 is $2.18 million. Using a 10% rate, $130,800 divided by 0.10 is $1.31 million. The important thing to remember is that each extra point of yield cuts the required capital. Each one also adds a new risk.

Bucket 1: Dividend Growers That Pay the Least Today Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (NYSEARCA:VIG) yields about 1.5% on its forward payout. Fidelity High Dividend ETF (NYSEARCA:FDVV) yields about 2.8% on trailing payouts. Both sit below the classic 3% to 4% conservative range. Funding the full target from this bucket alone, at its roughly 2.1% blend, would require about $6.09 million.

This bucket offers diversified, quality companies and a payout that rises over time. The caveat is that you give up current income.

Bucket 2: Real Estate and High-Dividend Stocks In bucket two, you’ll have SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 High Dividend ETF (NYSEARCA:SPYD) and STAG Industrial (NYSE:STAG), each yielding about 4.3%. VICI Properties (NYSE:VICI) yields about 7.7%, backed by 100% occupancy, a 39.6-year average lease term, and 2.0% annual escalators. VICI just raised its quarterly payout to $0.46 from $0.45.

The bucket blends to roughly 5.4%. The tradeoff shows up in price: VICI shares fell about 19% over the past year even as the dividend rose. STAG also moved from monthly to quarterly payments of $0.3875 in 2026, so plan your cash calendar around it.

Bucket 3: Maximum Income, Real Cut Risk Bucket three includes holdings like the Goldman Sachs S&P 500 Premium Income ETF (NASDAQ:GPIX), which sells S&P 500 options and yields about 8.6% monthly, with capped upside. Golub Capital BDC (NASDAQ:GBDC) yields about 10.9%, but it cut its base distribution from $0.39 to $0.33, a roughly 15% reduction. On the August call, chief executive David Golub said: “We’re in a credit cycle. There’s elevated credit stress.”

Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:JAAA) holds the bucket at about 4.8%. Its income moves with short-term rates, and its monthly payout has fallen from 0.280985 per share in December 2024 to about 0.20 now.

What the Full Portfolio Requires Combined across all eight holdings, the portfolio yields about 5.4%. To produce $130,800, you need roughly $2.44 million. Bucket 3 holds 40% of the money but generates about $75,500, or 58% of the income. Your paycheck leans hardest on the holdings most likely to cut (we walked through the mix, the payment calendar, and the withdrawal order for turning savings into monthly income in a free guide here).

Why the Smallest Yield May Pay You the Most VIG paid $0.459 per share in March 2015 and $0.9377 in March 2025, roughly a 2x increase in a decade. Apply that logic to your target: $3.74 million at 3.5%, with payouts growing 7% a year, makes about $257,000 of annual income by year 10. A $1.09 million portfolio at 12% starts at $130,800 and, with no growth, stays there or contracts after cuts like Golub’s.

Principal tells the same story. VIG’s dividend-adjusted price rose 255% over ten years, against 68% for Golub Capital.

Three Moves Before You Commit Capital Total up 12 months of real spending. Spending $8,000 a month instead of $10,900 drops the capital you need at 5.4% sharply, and you can move more money into Bucket 1. Map taxes by account. Payouts from REITs, BDCs, and option-income strategies are largely taxed as ordinary income. For 2025, married joint filers hit the 24% bracket at $206,701 of taxable income. Hold Bucket 3 in an IRA where you can, and keep qualified-dividend payers in taxable accounts. Run a 10-year side-by-side. Compare VIG’s 255% adjusted gain with SPYD’s 131%, then decide how much yield you’re willing to give up for growth. Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections.

How to Build $5,700 a Month in Dividend Income for Life
MAIN Main Street Capital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The amount of capital you need to generate $5,700 a month in dividends can vary by more than a million dollars depending on one decision you make at the start, and that decision shapes whether your income grows or quietly…

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

Building up $5,700 in monthly dividend income means someone is getting approximately $68,400 a year from their portfolio without selling shares, and yes, taxes will take a bite. In 2025, a single filer’s 22% federal bracket started at $48,476 of taxable income, so part of that income could be taxed at 22%. Reaching this target takes different amounts of money depending on the yield you aim for, and each level has its own trade-offs. We’ll walk through three of them, and then see how a six-fund income portfolio compares.

The big caveat to remember is that every number comes from one formula: income target divided by yield equals capital required.

Sleep-at-Night Tier: 3% to 4% Yield The least worrisome position is to take $68,400 divided by 0.035 equals $1,954,000. That’s the highest entry price, and it offers the most durable income.

This level includes dividend-growth funds and broad high-dividend equity funds. The Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF (NYSEARCA:SCHD) yields about 3.0% on its forward payout, so funding the whole target with it would take around $2.3 million. The return is growth, as shares rose 256% over the past decade. The iShares Core High Dividend ETF (NYSEARCA:HDV) yields about 4.2%, charges just 0.08% a year, and climbed 176% over ten years.

Monthly Checks at a Lower Price: 5% to 7% Yield For a slightly higher yield, take $68,400 and divide it by 0.06 to get $1,140,000. You need far less capital than in the safe level, and you give up most of your dividend growth to get there.

REITs, preferred shares, and high-dividend equity funds live here. Realty Income (NYSE:O) yields about 5.7% and just declared its 676th consecutive monthly dividend. Adjusted funds from operations (AFFO, the cash flow REITs use to fund dividends) rose 4% to $1.09 per share in Q2. Raises come in small steps, though. The monthly payout rose from $0.26 in October 2024 to $0.27 today, a modest increase.

Maximum Income, Minimum Capital: 8% to 14% Yield $68,400 divided by 0.10 equals $684,000. You need the least money here, and your income is the least predictable.

The JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income ETF (NASDAQ:JEPQ) sells covered calls on Nasdaq stocks and yields about 11.6%. That means around $588,000 could cover the full target. Its 2026 monthly payouts swung between $0.47 and $0.70, so your paycheck changes every month.

Main Street Capital (NYSE:MAIN | MAIN Price Prediction), a business development company that lends to private companies, paid $4.33 per share over the past year, about 8.1%. Count only the regular monthly dividend, which works out to about 5.9%, as reliable income. The quarterly $0.30 supplements depend on the business’s performance.

Where Cash Fits The iShares 0-3 Month Treasury Bond ETF (NYSEARCA:SGOV) yields about 3.6% with almost no price risk. Its payout floats with interest rates. The monthly distribution fell from $0.36 in August 2025 to $0.30 this month. It functions as a near-term spending reserve.

Pricing a Six-Fund Mix Fund Weight Approx. Yield SCHD 20% 3.0% JEPQ 20% 11.6% O 15% 5.7% MAIN (regular only) 15% 5.9% HDV 15% 4.2% SGOV 15% 3.6% The mix yields about 5.9%, so it takes around $1.2 million to produce $68,400. MAIN’s supplements and a strong month from JEPQ would add to that. Building a portfolio that acts like a paycheck, with payouts on a schedule, is the whole point of our free Paycheck Portfolio Method guide, which walks through the mix, calendar, and withdrawal order.

Why the Smallest Yield Can Pay the Most Picture $1,954,000 at a 3.5% yield, with dividends growing 8% a year. It pays $68,400 today, about $136,700 in year nine, and about $273,300 by year 18. Now picture $684,000 at a flat 10% yield. It still pays $68,400 in year 18, and inflation has eaten a big share of what that money buys. The high-yield investor saves on capital today and pays for it with lost purchasing power later.

Three Moves to Make Now Size the plan around actual spending. Add up a year of real expenses. If you need $4,800 a month instead of $5,700, every capital figure above drops by about one-sixth. Budget from regular payouts only. Use MAIN’s regular dividend and JEPQ’s lowest recent month as your base. Treat anything above that as a bonus to reinvest or save. Model taxes before you pick funds. Payouts from REITs, BDCs, and covered-call funds are mostly taxed as ordinary income. Holding those in an IRA and keeping qualified dividend payers in a taxable account can leave more of the $68,400 in your pocket. Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections.

Earnings Preview: CNA Financial (CNA) Q3 Earnings Expected to Decline
CNA CNA Financial Corporation
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The market expects CNA Financial (CNA - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year decline in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.

The stock might move higher if these key numbers top expectations in the upcoming earnings report, which is expected to be released on November 2. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis insurance holding company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.16 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of -22.7%.

Revenues are expected to be $3.54 billion, up 3.1% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has remained unchanged over the last 30 days. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.

Investors should keep in mind that an aggregate change may not always reflect the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts.

Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise

Earnings WhisperEstimate revisions ahead of a company's earnings release offer clues to the business conditions for the period whose results are coming out. This insight is at the core of our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for CNA Financial? For CNA Financial, the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -2.59%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that CNA Financial will beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that CNA Financial would post earnings of $1.04 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.19, delivering a surprise of +14.42%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates two times.

CNA Financial doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

An Industry Player's Expected ResultsAnother stock from the Zacks Insurance - Property and Casualty industry, Hanover Insurance Group (THG - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $4.47 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of -12.2%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $1.74 billion, up 3.8% from the year-ago quarter.

The consensus EPS estimate for Hanover Insurance has remained unchanged over the last 30 days. However, a higher Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +6.83%.

When combined with a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy), this Earnings ESP indicates that Hanover Insurance will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters.

SPX Technologies (SPXC) Upgraded to Buy: Here's Why
SPXC SPX Corp
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors might want to bet on SPX Technologies (SPXC - Free Report) , as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). An upward trend in earnings estimates -- one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices -- has triggered this rating change.

A company's changing earnings picture is at the core of the Zacks rating. The system tracks the Zacks Consensus Estimate -- the consensus measure of EPS estimates from the sell-side analysts covering the stock -- for the current and following years.

Individual investors often find it hard to make decisions based on rating upgrades by Wall Street analysts, since these are mostly driven by subjective factors that are hard to see and measure in real time. In these situations, the Zacks rating system comes in handy because of the power of a changing earnings picture in determining near-term stock price movements.

As such, the Zacks rating upgrade for SPX Technologies is essentially a positive comment on its earnings outlook that could have a favorable impact on its stock price.

Their bulk investment action then leads to price movement for the stock.

For SPX Technologies, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade fundamentally mean an improvement in the company's underlying business. And investors' appreciation of this improving business trend should push the stock higher.

Earnings Estimate Revisions for SPX TechnologiesThis infrastructure equipment supplier is expected to earn $8.48 per share for the fiscal year ending December 2026, which represents no year-over-year change.

Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for SPX Technologies. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 6.3%.

The upgrade of SPX Technologies to a Zacks Rank #2 positions it in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term.

AVNT vs. AIQUY: Which Stock Should Value Investors Buy Now?
AVNT Avient
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors looking for stocks in the Chemical - Diversified sector might want to consider either Avient (AVNT - Free Report) or Air Liquide (AIQUY - Free Report) . But which of these two stocks is more attractive to value investors? We'll need to take a closer look to find out.

The best way to find great value stocks is to pair a strong Zacks Rank with an impressive grade in the Value category of our Style Scores system. The Zacks Rank is a proven strategy that targets companies with positive earnings estimate revision trends, while our Style Scores work to grade companies based on specific traits.

Right now, Avient is sporting a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy), while Air Liquide has a Zacks Rank of #4 (Sell). Investors should feel comfortable knowing that AVNT likely has seen a stronger improvement to its earnings outlook than AIQUY has recently. But this is just one factor that value investors are interested in.

Value investors are also interested in a number of tried-and-true valuation metrics that help show when a company is undervalued at its current share price levels.

The Style Score Value grade factors in a variety of key fundamental metrics, including the popular P/E ratio, P/S ratio, earnings yield, cash flow per share, and a number of other key stats that are commonly used by value investors.

AVNT currently has a forward P/E ratio of 12.81, while AIQUY has a forward P/E of 28.61. We also note that AVNT has a PEG ratio of 1.18. This figure is similar to the commonly-used P/E ratio, with the PEG ratio also factoring in a company's expected earnings growth rate. AIQUY currently has a PEG ratio of 2.96.

Another notable valuation metric for AVNT is its P/B ratio of 1.54. Investors use the P/B ratio to look at a stock's market value versus its book value, which is defined as total assets minus total liabilities. By comparison, AIQUY has a P/B of 3.93.

Based on these metrics and many more, AVNT holds a Value grade of B, while AIQUY has a Value grade of F.

AVNT has seen stronger estimate revision activity and sports more attractive valuation metrics than AIQUY, so it seems like value investors will conclude that AVNT is the superior option right now.

IDEX Gears Up to Report Q3 Earnings: What's in the Cards?
IEX IDEX Corporation
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways IDEX expects Q3 2026 adjusted EPS to rise 9.9% and revenues to grow 4.6%.Health & Science Technologies revenues are projected to grow 11% on strong end-market demand.Acquisitions and water demand may aid growth, while dispensing weakness and rising costs pose risks. IDEX Corporation (IEX - Free Report) is scheduled to release third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 28, before market open.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for third-quarter earnings has remained steady in the past 60 days. The company has an impressive earnings surprise history, having outperformed the consensus estimate in each of the preceding four quarters, the average surprise being 7.7%.

The consensus estimate for revenues is pegged at $919.4 million, indicating an increase of 4.6% from the prior-year quarter’s figure. The consensus estimate for adjusted earnings is pinned at $2.23 per share, indicating an increase of 9.9% from the year-ago quarter’s number.

Let's see how things have shaped up for IDEX this earnings season.

Factors to Note Ahead of IDEX’s ResultsThe Health & Science Technologies (HST) segment is expected to have benefited from strength in the data center, semiconductor, space and defense markets in the third quarter. The consensus estimate for the HST segment’s revenues is pegged at $423 million, indicating an increase of 11% year over year.

An increase in demand for products across the municipal water end market is expected to have aided the Fluid & Metering Technologies (FMT) segment. Higher demand for mining application solutions business is likely to have been a tailwind as well. The consensus estimate for the FMT segment’s revenues is pegged at $321 million, indicating growth of 1.3% year over year.

IDEX has remained focused on expanding its product offerings and market presence through buyouts, which is expected to have boosted its top line. In July 2025, the company acquired Micro-LAM, Inc. (Micro-LAM), which expanded IDEX’s optics technology offerings. Also, the acquisition of Mott Corp. and its subsidiaries (Mott) in September 2024 expanded the company’s expertise in applied materials science technology capabilities across high-value end markets.

However, the Fire & Safety/Diversified Products (FSDP) segment is expected to have put up a weak show due to softness in the dispensing business arising from the unfavorable timing of dispensing projects in emerging markets. However, positive pricing is expected to have provided some relief. The consensus estimate for the segment’s revenues is pegged at $182 million, matching the year-ago quarter figure.

The escalating costs and operating expenses, due to increasing employee-related costs and professional services spending, are likely to have weighed on IEX’s bottom line in the to-be-reported quarter.

Earnings WhisperOur proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for IEX this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat, which is not the case here, as elaborated below.

Earnings ESP: IEX has an Earnings ESP of 0.00% as both the Zacks Consensus Estimate and the Most Accurate Estimate are pegged at $2.10 per share. You can uncover the best stocks before they’re reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.

Zacks Rank: IEX presently carries a Zacks Rank of 3.

Invesco (IVZ) Could Be a Great Choice
IVZ Invesco
FMP Stock News
Original source text
All investors love getting big returns from their portfolio, whether it's through stocks, bonds, ETFs, or other types of securities. But for income investors, generating consistent cash flow from each of your liquid investments is your primary focus.

Cash flow can come from bond interest, interest from other types of investments, and, of course, dividends. A dividend is that coveted distribution of a company's earnings paid out to shareholders, and investors often view it by its dividend yield, a metric that measures the dividend as a percent of the current stock price. Many academic studies show that dividends account for significant portions of long-term returns, with dividend contributions exceeding one-third of total returns in many cases.

Based in Atlanta, Invesco (IVZ - Free Report) is in the Finance sector, and so far this year, shares have seen a price change of 6.81%. Currently paying a dividend of $0.22 per share, the company has a dividend yield of 3.06%. In comparison, the Financial - Investment Management industry's yield is 3.22%, while the S&P 500's yield is 1.33%.

Looking at dividend growth, the company's current annualized dividend of $0.86 is up 3% from last year. Over the last 5 years, Invesco has increased its dividend 5 times on a year-over-year basis for an average annual increase of 7.66%. Looking ahead, future dividend growth will be dependent on earnings growth and payout ratio, which is the proportion of a company's annual earnings per share that it pays out as a dividend. Invesco's current payout ratio is 34%, meaning it paid out 34% of its trailing 12-month EPS as dividend.

IVZ is expecting earnings to expand this fiscal year as well. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 is $2.82 per share, which represents a year-over-year growth rate of 38.92%.

From greatly improving stock investing profits and reducing overall portfolio risk to providing tax advantages, investors like dividends for a variety of different reasons. But, not every company offers a quarterly payout.

High-growth firms or tech start-ups, for example, rarely provide their shareholders a dividend, while larger, more established companies that have more secure profits are often seen as the best dividend options. During periods of rising interest rates, income investors must be mindful that high-yielding stocks tend to struggle. With that in mind, IVZ is a compelling investment opportunity. Not only is it a strong dividend play, but the stock currently sits at a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold).

BWX Technologies (BWXT) Earnings Expected to Grow: Should You Buy?
BWXT BWX Technologies
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The market expects BWX Technologies (BWXT - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis supplier of nuclear fuel and components to the U.S. government is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.19 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +19%.

Revenues are expected to be $992.35 million, up 14.6% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 0.06% lower over the last 30 days to the current level.

This insight is at the core of our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction).

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for BWX?For BWX, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +0.22%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination indicates that BWX will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that BWX would post earnings of $1.01 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.07, delivering a surprise of +5.94%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates four times.

BWX appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Expected Results of an Industry PlayerAmong the stocks in the Zacks Aerospace - Defense Equipment industry, ATI (ATI - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $1.36 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of +60%. This quarter's revenue is expected to be $1.32 billion, up 17.4% from the year-ago quarter.

Over the last 30 days, the consensus EPS estimate for ATI has been revised 1.1% up to the current level. Nevertheless, the company now has an Earnings ESP of +1.09%, reflecting a higher Most Accurate Estimate.

When combined with a Zacks Rank of #1 (Strong Buy), this Earnings ESP indicates that ATI will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters.

Is the Options Market Predicting a Spike in Hub Group Stock?
HUBG Hub Group
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors in Hub Group, Inc. (HUBG - Free Report) need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the April 16, 2027 $17.50 Call had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today.

What is Implied Volatility?Implied volatility shows how much movement the market is expecting in the future. Options with high levels of implied volatility suggest that investors in the underlying stocks are expecting a big move in one direction or the other. It could also mean there is an event coming up soon that may cause a big rally or a huge sell off. However, implied volatility is only one piece of the puzzle when putting together an options trading strategy.

What do the Analysts Think?Clearly, options traders are pricing in a big move for Hub Group, but what is the fundamental picture for the company? Currently, Hub Group is a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell) in Transportation - Services Industry that ranks in the Bottom 23% of our Zacks Industry Rank. Over the last 60 days, no analyst has increased his estimate for the current quarter, while two have revised their estimates downward. The net effect has taken our Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current quarter to move from 55 cents per share to 26 cents per share in the same time period.

Given the way analysts feel about Hub Group right now, this huge implied volatility could mean there’s a trade developing. Often times, options traders look for options with high levels of implied volatility to sell premium. This is a strategy many seasoned traders use because it captures decay. At expiration, the hope for these traders is that the underlying stock does not move as much as originally expected.

International Paper to Report Q3 Earnings: What to Expect?
IP International Paper
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways International Paper expects Q3 adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations of $780-$830 million.Lower maintenance costs, pricing gains and 80/20 initiatives may offset high transportation and energy costs.Packaging Solutions EMEA EBITDA is projected to rise 37% sequentially and North America expected to gain 33%. International Paper Company (IP - Free Report) is scheduled to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 28, 2026, before the opening bell.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for IP’s second-quarter revenues is pegged at $6.35 billion, indicating a 2% increase from the year-ago reported figure.

The consensus estimate for International Paper’s earnings has moved down 9% to 30 cents per share.  Despite the revision, it suggests an improved performance from the loss of 43 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.

IP’s Earnings Surprise HistoryInternational Paper’s earnings missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in three of the trailing four quarters, while surpassing in one quarter, the average surprise being negative 31.6%.

What the Zacks Model Unveils for International PaperOur proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for International Paper this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat, but that is not the case here.

IP’s Earnings ESP: International Paper has an Earnings ESP of 0.00%. You can uncover the best stocks before they are reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.

Zacks Rank of International Paper: The company currently has a Zacks Rank of 3. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank stocks here.

Factors Likely to Have Shaped IP’s Q3 PerformanceInternational Paper’s second-quarter 2026 performance was adversely affected by elevated maintenance outage costs of $205 million, which was the heaviest outage quarter of the year. The company had projected maintenance outage expenses of $79 million for the third quarter. The anticipated decline in maintenance-related costs is likely to have supported sequential earnings growth in the third quarter.

However, higher transportation and fuel costs are expected to have increased input costs sequentially, putting pressure on margins. These headwinds are likely to have been partially offset by favorable volume trends, the realization of previously announced price increases and savings from the company’s 80/20 initiatives. These initiatives aim to simplify operations, eliminate fixed costs and direct resources toward higher-return assets.

International Paper projected third-quarter adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations of $780-$830 million, including an estimated $85 million negative impact from the temporary suspension of operations at its Pine Hill mill for roof repairs. Our model estimates adjusted EBITDA of $810.5 million for the quarter, up from $587 million in the second quarter of 2026. However, the projected figure implies a 6% decline from the year-ago quarter.

Our Projections for International Paper’s Segments in Q3For the Packaging Solutions North America segment, third-quarter 2026 price and mix are expected to have improved sequentially, reflecting the realization of previously announced price increases. Volumes were projected to decline sequentially, as the benefit of an additional shipping day was likely to have been offset by lower export volumes.

Our model projects Packaging Solutions North America’s net sales at $3.93 billion for the third quarter of 2026, reflecting a 7% increase sequentially and an 0.8% increase year-over-year.

Operations and costs are expected to have been favorable sequentially. Benefits from the Riverdale ramp-up and the contribution from the NORPAC acquisition are expected to have more than offset lower Ixtac insurance proceeds anticipated in the third quarter. Input costs are expected to have been unfavorable due to higher OCC costs and seasonally higher energy costs.

Taking these factors into account, along with the temporary suspension of the Pine Hill mill, management projected third-quarter adjusted EBITDA of $555-$585 million for the segment. Our model estimates adjusted EBITDA of $570.8 million, up 33% sequentially but down 14.2% year over year.

For Packaging Solutions EMEA, volumes were expected to increase sequentially, supported by seasonal demand patterns and customer wins. Price and mix were also likely to contribute positively, driven by the continued realization of previously announced paper price increases and the corresponding recovery in box pricing.

Our model projects the segment’s third-quarter net sales at $2.38 billion, indicating a 4% sequential increase and a 3% rise from the year-ago quarter.

Operations and costs are expected to have improved sequentially, supported by progress on the company’s cost-out initiatives and lower distribution costs. Input costs are expected to have been unfavorable as lower OCC costs were largely offset by higher energy costs, including the non-repeat of the energy subsidies received in the second quarter. Here's Why American Financial Group (AFG) is a Strong Momentum Stock
AFG American Financial Group
FMP Stock News
Original source text
For new and old investors, taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals. Zacks Premium provides lots of different ways to do both.

The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens.

Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores.

What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.

Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform.

The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:

Value ScoreFinding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value, are what value investors like to focus on. So, the Value Style Score takes into account ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to highlight the most attractive and discounted stocks.

Growth ScoreWhile good value is important, growth investors are more focused on a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score takes projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow into account to uncover stocks that will see long-term, sustainable growth.

Momentum ScoreMomentum traders and investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." This investing style is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Employing factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, the Momentum Style Score can indicate favorable times to build a position in high-momentum stocks.

VGM ScoreWhat if you like to use all three types of investing? The VGM Score is a combination of all Style Scores, making it one of the most comprehensive indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, which helps narrow down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum.

How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.

#1 (Strong Buy) stocks have produced an unmatched +23.82% average annual return since 1988, which is more than double the S&P 500's performance over the same time frame. However, the Zacks Rank examines a ton of stocks, and there can be more than 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, and another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.

This totals more than 800 top-rated stocks, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick the best stocks for you and your portfolio.

That's where the Style Scores come in.

To have the best chance of big returns, you'll want to always consider stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B, which will give you the highest probability of success. If you're looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, it's important they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible.

Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy.

For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well.

Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.

Stock to Watch: American Financial Group (AFG - Free Report) Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, American Financial Group, Inc. is a holding company that, through its subsidiaries, primarily engages in property and casualty insurance. The company focuses on specialized commercial products for businesses. American Financial divested its annuity businesses in May 2021.

AFG is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of B.

Momentum investors should take note of this Finance stock. AFG has a Momentum Style Score of A, and shares are up 9% over the past four weeks.

Two analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days for fiscal 2026. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.16 to $12.29 per share. AFG boasts an average earnings surprise of +10.8%.

With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Momentum and VGM Style Scores, AFG should be on investors' short list.

CNK vs. MCS: Which Theater Stock Is the Better Buy Today?
CNK Cinemark Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways CNK emerges as the better buy, driven by strong operating momentum, premium expansion and earnings revisions.CNK gained 17.8% in three months versus MCS' 14.2%, while trading at a higher forward P/S of 1.24 versus 1.03.Marcus' 2026 EPS estimates have fallen 25% in 60 days, while Cinemark's have risen 12.7%, favoring CNK. Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (CNK - Free Report) and The Marcus Corporation (MCS - Free Report) — two established players in the movie exhibition industry — are benefiting from improving box-office trends, stronger audience engagement and rising demand for premium viewing experiences. Cinemark is capitalizing on record revenues, operating leverage and an expanding premium-format portfolio, while Marcus is gaining momentum from theater market-share gains, hotel diversification and improving free cash flow.

Both companies are investing in customer experiences, strategic pricing and loyalty initiatives to strengthen their competitive positions. However, differences in operating scale, growth opportunities and valuation make the investment decision more nuanced.

For investors seeking exposure to the ongoing theatrical recovery, which stock offers the more compelling buying opportunity right now? Let's take a closer look.

The Case for CNKCinemark’s strong operating momentum, supported by improving moviegoing demand, strategic pricing and disciplined cost management, bodes well. The company is capitalizing on a favorable theatrical environment while strengthening its operating efficiency and revenue-generating capabilities. Its focus on premium experiences, customer engagement and higher per-patron spending has translated into record performance, with adjusted EBITDA reaching $294 million and margins expanding to 27.1% in the second quarter of 2026. Robust free cash flow generation further underscores the strength of its operating model.

Premium viewing formats remain a major growth catalyst. During the first half of 2026, Cinemark added seven XD auditoriums, 12 ScreenX auditoriums, two IMAX auditoriums and 112 D-BOX-equipped auditoriums. Its global portfolio now includes approximately 350 premium large-format screens and 660 auditoriums featuring D-BOX technology. With considerable scope to introduce additional premium screens at existing locations, these investments should help capture growing demand for enhanced theatrical experiences, support higher ticket yields and strengthen its competitive positioning.

Cinemark is also leveraging digital capabilities to deepen customer engagement and encourage repeat visits. Its addressable customer base has reached approximately 40 million worldwide, providing a substantial platform for personalized marketing and targeted promotions. Management highlighted approximately 20% year-over-year growth in moviegoing frequency among audiences under 25, reflecting renewed enthusiasm for theatrical experiences among younger consumers. Its expanding digital outreach, influencer partnerships and customized campaigns should help translate this demand into sustained attendance and stronger customer loyalty.

Content diversification and concession initiatives provide additional growth opportunities. The rising popularity of creator-led films, anime, faith-based productions and foreign-language releases is helping Cinemark attract new audiences and broaden its revenue base. These offerings also provide opportunities to sustain attendance between major blockbuster releases. Meanwhile, the company’s focus on movie-themed merchandise, curated product assortments and inventory optimization is yielding encouraging results, with merchandise sales reaching a record $25 million in the second quarter. These initiatives, alongside strategic ticket pricing and premium-format penetration, should support continued growth in per-patron spending.

Financially, Cinemark remains focused on disciplined capital allocation and sustainable profitability. The company is prioritizing high-return investments in theater enhancements, selective acquisitions and new developments while maintaining balance sheet flexibility and returning excess capital to its shareholders. With approximately 40% of its cost structure fixed, improving attendance provides substantial operating leverage and opportunities for further margin expansion.

The Case for MCSMarcus is strengthening its growth prospects on the back of improving moviegoing demand, strategic pricing and resilient theater performance. The company's theater division continues to outperform the broader industry, with comparable admission revenues increasing 16.6% year over year in the second quarter of 2026, approximately five percentage points above domestic box-office growth. Comparable attendance rose 10.9%, while average admission prices and concession revenues per patron increased 5.2% and 2.4%, respectively. These gains helped theater-adjusted EBITDA climb nearly 37% to $36.3 million, reflecting healthy operating leverage and effective revenue management.

The company's extensive premium viewing capabilities provide another growth opportunity. Approximately 84% of Marcus' theater locations feature at least one premium large-format screen, while 75% of those locations offer multiple premium screens. Its proprietary UltraScreen and SuperScreen formats provide greater flexibility to accommodate competing releases and optimize auditorium utilization. Meanwhile, customer engagement initiatives, including Value Tuesdays, Marcus Mystery Movie and Marcus Movie Club, are designed to improve visit frequency and attract value-conscious audiences. The growing popularity of family-oriented films and original content is also supporting attendance across its predominantly Midwestern theater circuit.

Marcus is also focusing on operating efficiency and strategic pricing to strengthen theater profitability. Management indicated that approximately 50% of incremental theater revenues typically flow through to adjusted EBITDA, highlighting the business' operating leverage. The company continues to optimize ticket pricing while offering value-oriented promotions to encourage repeat attendance. Its focus on a broader mix of family films, original productions and premium experiences should help sustain audience engagement and support revenue growth.

However, Marcus faces certain near-term challenges. Management expects theater admission-price growth to moderate in the second half of 2026 as the company laps earlier pricing initiatives. Theater performance also remains sensitive to film-release schedules and regional audience preferences, while the business' high operating leverage makes profitability dependent on sustained attendance. In the hotel segment, fluctuations in airfare, fuel prices and broader economic conditions could affect leisure travel demand. Short booking windows in the transient segment and uneven demand patterns also create uncertainty around near-term revenue trends.

How Does the Zacks Consensus Estimate Compare for CNK & MCS?The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Cinemark’s 2026 sales suggests a year-over-year increase of 17.7%, and earnings per share (EPS) indicate a rise of 155.8%. In the past 60 days, earnings estimates for 2026 have increased 12.7%.

Buy CNK or Marcus Now?Cinemark stands out as the better investment choice, backed by strong operating momentum, premium-format expansion and favorable earnings revisions. Its focus on customer engagement, higher per-patron spending and operational efficiency supports sustained growth. Although CNK trades at a premium to MCS, its stronger revenue outlook, superior stock performance and Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) make it the preferred pick for investors seeking exposure to the theatrical recovery.

Marcus remains well-positioned to benefit from improving moviegoing demand and its diversified operations. However, moderating admission-price growth, hotel-related uncertainties and downward earnings revisions temper its near-term appeal. With a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), MCS appears better suited for existing shareholders, while investors seeking fresh exposure may favor CNK.

Are You Looking for a Top Momentum Pick? Why Cinemark Holdings (CNK) is a Great Choice
CNK Cinemark Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Momentum investing is all about the idea of following a stock's recent trend, which can be in either direction. In the "long context," investors will essentially be "buying high, but hoping to sell even higher." And for investors following this methodology, taking advantage of trends in a stock's price is key; once a stock establishes a course, it is more than likely to continue moving in that direction. The goal is that once a stock heads down a fixed path, it will lead to timely and profitable trades.

Even though momentum is a popular stock characteristic, it can be tough to define. Debate surrounding which are the best and worst metrics to focus on is lengthy, but the Zacks Momentum Style Score, part of the Zacks Style Scores, helps address this issue for us.

Below, we take a look at Cinemark Holdings (CNK - Free Report) , a company that currently holds a Momentum Style Score of B. We also talk about price change and earnings estimate revisions, two of the main aspects of the Momentum Style Score.

It's also important to note that Style Scores work as a complement to the Zacks Rank, our stock rating system that has an impressive track record of outperformance. Cinemark Holdings currently has a Zacks Rank of #1 (Strong Buy). Our research shows that stocks rated Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) and #2 (Buy) and Style Scores of "A or B" outperform the market over the following one-month period.

You can see the current list of Zacks #1 Rank Stocks here >>>

Set to Beat the Market?Let's discuss some of the components of the Momentum Style Score for CNK that show why this movie theater owner shows promise as a solid momentum pick.

A good momentum benchmark for a stock is to look at its short-term price activity, as this can reflect both current interest and if buyers or sellers currently have the upper hand. It is also useful to compare a security to its industry, as this can help investors pinpoint the top companies in a particular area.

For CNK, shares are up 3.07% over the past week while the Zacks Film and Television Production and Distribution industry is up 2.03% over the same time period. Shares are looking quite well from a longer time frame too, as the monthly price change of 5% compares favorably with the industry's 0.75% performance as well.

While any stock can see a spike in price, it takes a real winner to consistently outperform the market. Over the past quarter, shares of Cinemark Holdings have risen 8.39%, and are up 50.23% in the last year. On the other hand, the S&P 500 has only moved 2.49% and 15.59%, respectively.

Investors should also take note of CNK's average 20-day trading volume. Volume is a useful item in many ways, and the 20-day average establishes a good price-to-volume baseline; a rising stock with above average volume is generally a bullish sign, whereas a declining stock on above average volume is typically bearish. Right now CNK is averaging 1,906,987 shares for the last 20 days..

Earnings OutlookThe Zacks Momentum Style Score encompasses many things, including estimate revisions and a stock's price movement. Investors should note that earnings estimates are also significant to the Zacks Rank, and a nice path here can be promising. We have recently been noticing this with CNK.

Over the past two months, 6 earnings estimates moved higher compared to none lower for the full year. These revisions helped boost CNK's consensus estimate, increasing from $2.36 to $2.66 in the past 60 days. Looking at the next fiscal year, 5 estimates have moved upwards while there have been no downward revisions in the same time period.

Bottom LineGiven these factors, it shouldn't be surprising that CNK is a #1 (Strong Buy) stock and boasts a Momentum Score of B. If you're looking for a fresh pick that's set to soar in the near-term, make sure to keep Cinemark Holdings on your short list.

Will International Flavors (IFF) Beat Estimates Again in Its Next Earnings Report?
IFF International Flavors & Fragrances
FMP Stock News
Original source text
If you are looking for a stock that has a solid history of beating earnings estimates and is in a good position to maintain the trend in its next quarterly report, you should consider International Flavors (IFF - Free Report) . This company, which is in the Zacks Chemical - Specialty industry, shows potential for another earnings beat.

This ingredients producer for food, cosmetics and consumer products industries has seen a nice streak of beating earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports. The average surprise for the last two quarters was 10.43%.

For the most recent quarter, International Flavors was expected to post earnings of $0.78 per share, but it reported $0.82 per share instead, representing a surprise of 5.13%. For the previous quarter, the consensus estimate was $1.08 per share, while it actually produced $1.25 per share, a surprise of 15.74%.

Price and EPS Surprise

Thanks in part to this history, there has been a favorable change in earnings estimates for International Flavors lately. In fact, the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction) for the stock is positive, which is a great indicator of an earnings beat, particularly when combined with its solid Zacks Rank.

International Flavors currently has an Earnings ESP of +0.97%, which suggests that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This positive Earnings ESP when combined with the stock's Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) indicates that another beat is possibly around the corner. We expect the company's next earnings report to be released on November 3, 2026.

When the Earnings ESP comes up negative, investors should note that this will reduce the predictive power of the metric. But, a negative value is not indicative of a stock's earnings miss.

Why Ameren (AEE) is a Top Dividend Stock for Your Portfolio
AEE Ameren
FMP Stock News
Original source text
All investors love getting big returns from their portfolio, whether it's through stocks, bonds, ETFs, or other types of securities. But when you're an income investor, your primary focus is generating consistent cash flow from each of your liquid investments.

While cash flow can come from bond interest or interest from other types of investments, income investors hone in on dividends. A dividend is the distribution of a company's earnings paid out to shareholders; it's often viewed by its dividend yield, a metric that measures a dividend as a percent of the current stock price. Many academic studies show that dividends account for significant portions of long-term returns, with dividend contributions exceeding one-third of total returns in many cases.

Based in St Louis, Ameren (AEE - Free Report) is in the Utilities sector, and so far this year, shares have seen a price change of 8.19%. The utility is currently shelling out a dividend of $0.75 per share, with a dividend yield of 2.78%. This compares to the Utility - Electric Power industry's yield of 3.11% and the S&P 500's yield of 1.33%.

Looking at dividend growth, the company's current annualized dividend of $3.00 is up 5.6% from last year. Over the last 5 years, Ameren has increased its dividend 5 times on a year-over-year basis for an average annual increase of 7.11%. Looking ahead, future dividend growth will be dependent on earnings growth and payout ratio, which is the proportion of a company's annual earnings per share that it pays out as a dividend. Ameren's current payout ratio is 56%, meaning it paid out 56% of its trailing 12-month EPS as dividend.

Looking at this fiscal year, AEE expects solid earnings growth. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 is $5.40 per share, with earnings expected to increase 7.36% from the year ago period.

From greatly improving stock investing profits and reducing overall portfolio risk to providing tax advantages, investors like dividends for a variety of different reasons. However, not all companies offer a quarterly payout.

For instance, it's a rare occurrence when a tech start-up or big growth business offers its shareholders a dividend. It's more common to see larger companies with more established profits give out dividends. Income investors have to be mindful of the fact that high-yielding stocks tend to struggle during periods of rising interest rates. With that in mind, AEE is a compelling investment opportunity. Not only is it a strong dividend play, but the stock currently sits at a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold).

Entergy (ETR) Earnings Expected to Grow: What to Know Ahead of Next Week's Release
ETR Entergy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The market expects Entergy (ETR - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis power company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.71 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +11.8%.

Revenues are expected to be $4.16 billion, up 9% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 12.63% lower over the last 30 days to the current level.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Entergy? For Entergy, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +1.01%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #2.

So, this combination indicates that Entergy will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Entergy would post earnings of $0.94 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.03, delivering a surprise of +9.57%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates two times.

Entergy appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

An Industry Player's Expected ResultsAnother stock from the Zacks Utility - Electric Power industry, Exelon (EXC - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $0.81 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of -5.8%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $6.87 billion, up 2.4% from the year-ago quarter.

Over the last 30 days, the consensus EPS estimate for Exelon has been revised 1% down to the current level. Nevertheless, the company now has an Earnings ESP of -1.86%, reflecting a lower Most Accurate Estimate.

This Earnings ESP, combined with its Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Exelon will beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

AppLovin Corporation (APP) Securities Class Action:

AppLovin provides end-to-end AI-powered advertising solutions for businesses to reach, monetize, and grow their global audience.

To investors, "uplift" is possibly the most critical driver of the company's revenue growth. The company improves its AI model to increase uplift, better matching the exact right ad to the exact right user at the exact right millisecond. In turn, this uplifts advertisers' return on ad spend, increases their advertising budgets, and (for AppLovin) accelerates high-margin revenue.

The lawsuit is focused on the propriety of AppLovin's statements about model improvements and uplift.

Most recently, several weeks into AppLovin's Q2, during its May 6, 2026 Q1 2026 earnings call, management left investors with high expectations for uplift and revenue growth.

CEO Adam Foroughi said that the most important milestone investors should focus on was the company's "improving the underlying model." He emphasized that "[l]ast quarter earnings, I mentioned we just had one new model that had just created an uplift[]" and "[t]he one we had a couple of weeks ago was quite substantial." He also explained, "that's why I highlighted […] that we saw a big acceleration going exiting the quarter[,]" and "then, April Q2, bigger than any quarter that we had[.]"

Investors' expectations began to unravel on July 13, 2026, when a prominent analyst published a report highlighting a lack of immediate advertiser influx following the general availability launch of AppLovin's advertising tools. In response, the price of AppLovin shares tumbled $64.13 (-12.6%).

Then, on August 5, 2026, the company reported its Q2 2026 revenue that was below midpoint. In apparent contrast to the "big acceleration," management said "[o]ur pace of meaningful model improvement was lighter than normal during the quarter[]" and "we didn't get the same level of model uplift we've seen in recent quarters[.]" This news drove the price of AppLovin shares crashing another $82.13 (-19.6%).

Between the two drops, the company lost over $44 billion of its market capitalization.

"We're focused on when during Q2 AppLovin first knew that the uplift and revenue acceleration investors had come to expect wasn't happening," said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm's investigation.

Levi & Korsinsky Reminds AppLovin Corporation Investors of the Pending Class Action Lawsuit With a Lead Plaintiff Deadline of November 16, 2026 - APP
APP Applovin
FMP Stock News
Original source text
NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levi & Korsinsky, LLP notifies investors in AppLovin Corporation (NASDAQ: APP) that a class action has been filed on behalf of shareholders who purchased securities between February 12, 2026 and August 5, 2026. Check if you might be eligible to recover your investment losses. You may also contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500.

AppLovin reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $1.92 billion against consensus estimates of $1.94 billion. APP shares fell $82.13, or 19.66%, to close at $335.67 on August 6, 2026, down $171.31 from the Class Period high of $506.98 reached on July 12, 2026. The lead plaintiff deadline is November 16, 2026.

The Promise

The company projected a compounding growth engine: better AI models delivered better returns for advertisers, advertisers moved more budget onto the platform, and the resulting data improved the models again. On May 6, 2026, management described that mechanism as "a virtuous cycle, and it is working," told investors the Company had "100% seen faster improvements to the models, both across the consumer business and the gaming business," and added that "we don't really see a reason why that's going to slow down." On the same call, the generative AI video creative feature for the AppLovin Ads platform was described as in testing, with a plan to "roll it out to all accounts shortly."

The Reality

Results revealed a different picture on August 5, 2026. Management stated that the "pace of meaningful model improvement was lighter than normal during the quarter" and that the next step-up "landed just after quarter end." On the video tool, investors were told: "We're not at the point where we can yet get a high-quality video for 30 to 60 seconds in the hand of an advertiser out of the box. So that's still [a] work in progress."

Promise vs. Actual: By the Numbers

Promised in March 2026: a 20% to 30% growth framework supported by "directed model enhancements and recursive learning" occurring "on an ongoing basis." Actual: single-digit second quarter growth, the weakest of the prior 12 quarters.Promised in May 2026: the generative AI video tool rolled out "to all accounts shortly." Actual, August 5, 2026: "still [a] work in progress."Anticipated second quarter revenue: $1.94 billion. Reported: $1.92 billion.Class Period high: $506.98 per share. Close after the second quarter disclosure: $335.67 per share.During the Class Period, the individual defendants sold 260,065 shares for more than $109.1 million in proceeds, the complaint alleges. The gap demonstrates, according to the lawsuit, that the constancy of AI model improvement and the readiness of the video tool were overstated while investors purchased at allegedly inflated prices.

"Companies that make specific promises to investors about future performance have an obligation to disclose known risks to those projections. The complaint alleges that AppLovin investors were told model gains had no reason to slow down weeks before the Company reported that the pace of meaningful improvement had been lighter than normal." -- Joseph E. Levi, Esq.

Frequently Asked Questions About the APP Lawsuit

Q: What specific misstatements does the APP lawsuit allege? A: The complaint alleges AppLovin made materially false or misleading statements regarding the constancy and reliability of improvements to its AI advertising models and the development status of its generative AI video creative tool during the Class Period. When the Company reported second quarter revenue of $1.92 billion, disclosed that the pace of meaningful model improvement had been "lighter than normal," and described the video tool as "still [a] work in progress," the stock price declined sharply.

Q: When did AppLovin allegedly mislead investors? A: The Class Period runs from February 12, 2026 to August 5, 2026. The complaint alleges that corrective disclosures revealed information that caused a significant stock decline.

Q: What court was the APP class action filed in? A: The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, governed by the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995.

Q: What do APP investors need to do right now? A: Investors may gather brokerage records showing purchase dates, share quantities, and prices paid. Submit your information for a no-cost, no-obligation evaluation of your potential recovery. No immediate action is required to remain eligible as an absent class member.

Q: What documents do I need to to submit my information? A: Brokerage statements or trade confirmations showing purchase dates, share quantities, prices paid, and any subsequent sale dates and prices.

Q: What if my APP losses are small -- is it still worth contacting a lawyer? A: Yes. There is no minimum loss amount required to participate as a class member.

Q: How long will the lawsuit take to resolve? A: Securities class actions typically take two to four years from initial filing to resolution. Timing depends on the court schedule, case developments, and whether the matter is dismissed, settled, or litigated further.

Q: Can I join a different law firm's lawsuit instead? A: Yes. Investors may choose which law firm to contact. Multiple firms often file competing complaints. The court may consolidate related cases and appoint a single lead counsel.

According to the complaint, the truth began to emerge on July 13, 2026, when a Bank of America Securities analyst published a note raising concerns over the rollout of AppLovin Ads to all advertisers. Huntsman (HUN) Earnings Expected to Grow: Should You Buy?
HUN Huntsman Corporation
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Huntsman (HUN - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended September 2026.

While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.

Zacks Consensus EstimateThis chemical company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.07 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +333.3%.

Revenues are expected to be $1.6 billion, up 9.7% from the year-ago quarter.

Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 1.22% lower over the last 30 days to the current level.

How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Huntsman? For Huntsman, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +36.14%.

On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.

So, this combination indicates that Huntsman will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.

Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.

For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Huntsman would post earnings of $0.06 per share when it actually produced break-even earnings, delivering a surprise of -100.00%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates two times.

Huntsman appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

Expected Results of an Industry PlayerAmong the stocks in the Zacks Chemical - Diversified industry, LyondellBasell (LYB - Free Report) , is soon expected to post earnings of $2.73 per share for the quarter ended September 2026. This estimate indicates a year-over-year change of +170.3%. This quarter's revenue is expected to be $8.47 billion, up 9.7% from the year-ago quarter.

Over the last 30 days, the consensus EPS estimate for LyondellBasell has been revised 8.2% up to the current level. Nevertheless, the company now has an Earnings ESP of -1.18%, reflecting a lower Most Accurate Estimate.

This Earnings ESP, combined with its Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), makes it difficult to conclusively predict that LyondellBasell will beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

What Makes Talos Energy (TALO) a New Buy Stock
TALO Talos Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Talos Energy (TALO - Free Report) could be a solid choice for investors given its recent upgrade to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). This upgrade is essentially a reflection of an upward trend in earnings estimates -- one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices.

As such, the Zacks rating upgrade for Talos Energy is essentially a positive comment on its earnings outlook that could have a favorable impact on its stock price.

Their bulk investment action then leads to price movement for the stock.

For Talos Energy, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade fundamentally mean an improvement in the company's underlying business. And investors' appreciation of this improving business trend should push the stock higher.

Earnings Estimate Revisions for Talos EnergyFor the fiscal year ending December 2026, this independent oil and gas company is expected to earn $1.81 per share, which is unchanged compared with the year-ago reported number.

Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for Talos Energy. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 332%.

The upgrade of Talos Energy to a Zacks Rank #2 positions it in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term.

Alnylam Reports Up to 83% Huntingtin Reduction, Eyes 2027 Pivotal Trial
ALNY Alnylam Pharmaceuticals
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The Phase 3 Failure That Sent Biotech Winners and Losers in Opposite DirectionsAlnylam Pharmaceuticals NASDAQ: ALNY outlined early clinical data for brezosiran, an investigational RNA interference therapy for Huntington’s disease, reporting dose-dependent reductions in cerebrospinal fluid mutant huntingtin after a single intrathecal dose and plans to begin a placebo-controlled pivotal study in 2027, pending regulatory alignment.

Get ALNY alerts:

Huntington’s disease is a progressive, fatal inherited neurodegenerative disorder caused by an expanded CAG repeat in the huntingtin gene. The disease can affect movement, cognition and mood, and Alnylam estimates that more than 100,000 symptomatic patients live globally. There are currently no approved disease-modifying treatments.

Exon 1 Strategy Targets Multiple Huntingtin Forms Alnylam Stock Soars 65%: Find Out What’s Behind the GainsBrezosiran, previously called ALN-HTT02, is designed to target a sequence in Exon 1 of the huntingtin gene. Alnylam said this approach is intended to reduce both full-length mutant huntingtin and a shorter form known as huntingtin 1a, as well as wild-type huntingtin.

Kevin Sloan, Alnylam’s vice president of development programs and program lead for brezosiran, said prior huntingtin-lowering programs have often targeted sequences downstream of Exon 1, meaning they may lower full-length huntingtin without directly addressing huntingtin 1a.

3 biotech powerhouses poised to thrive amid sector rebound“We ultimately selected” an inclusive Exon 1-targeting approach “designed to lower all relevant huntingtin species in the CNS,” Sloan said.

Gill Bates, professor of molecular neuroscience and co-director of the Huntington’s Disease Centre at University College London, discussed research suggesting huntingtin 1a may contribute meaningfully to disease biology. She said somatic expansion of the CAG repeat in vulnerable neurons is believed to be an early event in Huntington’s disease pathogenesis.

Bates described three mouse-model studies published this year that examined the effects of reducing huntingtin 1a. In one study, preventing production of huntingtin 1a delayed aggregation and normalized certain cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers while full-length mutant huntingtin remained present. Other studies found that approaches lowering huntingtin 1a alongside full-length mutant huntingtin had larger effects on aggregation and transcriptional dysregulation than approaches aimed only at full-length huntingtin.

However, Bates said it remains difficult to measure huntingtin 1a in living patients because it may be produced in relatively small populations of cells with highly expanded repeats and may remain trapped in cellular aggregates. She said reductions in full-length huntingtin could potentially serve as an indirect indicator of huntingtin 1a lowering for therapies directed at Exon 1.

Initial Phase Ib Data Showed Up to 83% Individual Reductions Toby Ferguson, Alnylam’s senior vice president and head of neuroscience, presented initial results from an ongoing randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase Ib study in patients with stage 2 or early stage 3 Huntington’s disease. The trial enrolled patients between ages 25 and 70 with more than 39 CAG repeats in Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The data cut included five dose cohorts with up to three months of follow-up after one intrathecal administration of brezosiran. The study’s primary endpoint is safety and tolerability, while secondary measures include cerebrospinal fluid and plasma pharmacokinetics and changes in cerebrospinal fluid mutant huntingtin.

Using two assays, including a newer mutant huntingtin NULISA assay, Alnylam reported dose-dependent reductions in cerebrospinal fluid mutant huntingtin. At the highest evaluated dose, the company reported mean reductions of 60% to 64% at month three, with maximum individual reductions of up to 83%.

Ferguson said the NULISA assay avoided lower-limit-of-quantification issues observed with a traditional assay, particularly after deeper huntingtin lowering.

Safety Findings and Development Plans Alnylam said adverse events occurred in most participants, as is common in neurodegenerative-disease studies, but reported no dose-related increase in serious or severe adverse events across the five cohorts. There were no deaths or treatment discontinuations due to adverse events.

The company reported two severe and serious events in one dose group: a radius fracture and likely bacterial meningitis. It also reported an acute myocardial infarction that resolved with sequelae and a resolved post-lumbar puncture syndrome in that same dose group. A severe, non-serious headache in another group had resolved.

Ferguson said cerebrospinal fluid white blood cell counts and protein levels were similar between treated and placebo participants, with no evidence to date of dose-related central nervous system inflammation. The company also reported no dose-dependent increases in cerebrospinal fluid neurofilament light chain, a biomarker associated with neuronal injury, and no dose-dependent changes in ventricular volume on MRI.

“Our findings to date do not establish clinical efficacy,” Ferguson said, adding that longer and larger studies will be required.

Participants may enter an open-label extension in which they can receive brezosiran every six months. Alnylam said the extension will help characterize longer-term safety and explore potential efficacy trends, though Ferguson said it may take 24 to 36 months to meaningfully assess clinical effects in Huntington’s disease.

The company plans to pursue a placebo-controlled pivotal study beginning in 2027, subject to regulatory discussions. Alnylam said the trial is intended to determine whether brezosiran can slow disease progression and would, to its knowledge, be the first placebo-controlled test of the huntingtin 1a-lowering hypothesis.

AMP Ameriprise Financial
FMP Stock News

Key Takeaways Ameriprise's Q3 earnings and revenues are projected to rise 16.9% and 9.1% y/y, respectively.AMP's AUM and AUA are expected to grow 6.3% to $1.76T, supported by overall net inflows.Ameriprise's fee income growth may aid Q3 results, while higher technology and hiring costs could weigh. Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (AMP - Free Report) is slated to announce third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 29, before market open. Its quarterly revenues and earnings are expected to have risen year over year.

In the last reported quarter, AMP’s earnings beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate. An increase in revenues, and higher assets under management (AUM) and assets under administration (AUA) balances acted as tailwinds. Conversely, an increase in expenses was a headwind.

Ameriprise has an impressive earnings surprise history. Its earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in the trailing four quarters, the average beat being 5.6%.

Q3 Estimates & Key Factors to Note for AmeripriseThe Zacks Consensus Estimate for AMP’s management and financial advice fees (constituting more than 60% of total net revenues) is pegged at $3.18 billion, suggesting a 13.2% rise from the prior-year quarter’s reported number.

The consensus estimate for distribution fees of $582 million indicates a year-over-year increase of 8%. The consensus mark for other revenues of $141 million suggests 8.5% growth.

The consensus estimate for premiums, policy and contract charges is pegged at $380 million, implying a year-over-year rise of 22.9%.

Alternatively, the consensus estimate for net investment income of $836 million suggests a year-over-year decline of 9.1%.

Overall net inflows are expected to have driven the company’s total AUM and AUA balance. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for total AUM and AUA is pegged at $1.76 trillion, indicating a rise of 6.3% from the year-ago quarter’s actual.

While Ameriprise’s initiatives to focus on cost management have led to controlled general and administration expenses, overall costs are anticipated to have been elevated in the to-be-reported quarter due to those related to technology upgrades and hirings.

Earnings Whispers for AmeripriseAccording to our proven model, the chances of Ameriprise beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings are low this time around. This is because it does not have the right combination of the two key ingredients — a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) or better, which is required to be confident of an earnings surprise call.

You can uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they are reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.

Key Takeaways Anthropic Announced Its Intention to File for IPOFed Decision on Interest Rates Comes Mid-WeekVZ, ARLP Report This Morning, MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN Later This Week Monday, October 26th, 2026

The big news out 25 minutes before Monday’s opening bell, Claude AI parent Anthropic has filed for its public Initial Public Offering (IPO). The San Francisco-based company will trade under the ticker ANT on the Nasdaq, and the IPO will be underwritten by Goldman Sachs (GS - Free Report) and Morgan Stanley (MS - Free Report) . No valuation or offering size is yet available in the company’s first S1, but estimates are around $1.5 trillion in market cap — perhaps as high as $2 trillion.

The key for the company — as well as for other agentic AI companies like OpenAI, which is also expected to go public at some point — is how they will navigate the hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure commitments, and whether the AI buildout will be slowing. The amount of compute looks to bring impressive margin expansion for the company, as we’ve seen in the years the company has remained private.

What to Expect from the Trading Week: PCE, Mag 7 Earnings
Our market headlines may be dominated by Anthropic news this week, but otherwise the biggest news is likely to be the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) report out on Thursday. This had been routinely cited as the most important inflation metric for the Fed, and expectations are for higher inflation levels as of September: +3.7% on headline and +3.1% on core (minus food and energy expenditures), above the +3.4% and +3.0%, respectively, from the prior week.

Speaking of the Fed, Wednesday afternoon will also give us a new decision on interest rate policy from its two-day Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Expectations are for no move following recent economic data, holding at a range of +3.75-4.00% after September’s 25 basis-point (bps) hike. (Odds are much higher for another raise by 25 bps in the final FOMC meeting of the year, in December.)

Three “Mag 7” companies will be reporting this week, as well: Microsoft (MSFT - Free Report) and Alphabet (GOOGL - Free Report) on Wednesday after the close, and Amazon (AMZN - Free Report) Thursday afternoon. While Microsoft and Amazon currently carry Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) ratings, Alphabet is a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) at this hour. All expect growth on both top and bottom lines, with most of these (all but Amazon’s earnings growth) expected in double digits.

Q3 Earnings at a Glance: VZ, ARLP
Ahead of the opening trading session for the week, Verizon (VZ - Free Report) beat bottom-line estimates by 4 cents to $1.31 per share, on slightly weaker-than-expected $34.31 billion in revenues, -1.43% from the Zacks consensus. The telecom giant raised future guidance, but analysts are considering whether SpaceX’s (SPCX) will be competing in Verizon’s area before long. Shares are down -0.9% but still up +9% year to date. What Alliance Resource Partners (ARLP) Said on Its Q3 Earnings Call
ARLP Alliance Resource Partners
FMP Stock News
Original source text
3 Stocks Using Bitcoin to Grow Their Treasury ReservesAlliance Resource Partners NASDAQ: ARLP reported higher third-quarter 2026 revenue, earnings and adjusted EBITDA, supported by stronger coal shipments, the return of longwall production at its Hamilton mine and the first full-quarter contribution from its AllDale III and IV oil-and-gas royalty acquisition.

Total revenue increased 5.5% from a year earlier to $603 million. Net income attributable to ARLP rose 46.8% to $139.6 million, or $1.08 per basic and diluted limited partner unit, while adjusted EBITDA attributable to ARLP increased 26.3% to $233.9 million.

Peabody Energy is a Double Threat Energy and Steel Play Results also improved sequentially from the second quarter. Revenue rose 9.3%, net income increased 75.5%, and adjusted EBITDA attributable to ARLP grew 26.4%.

The partnership said net income benefited from a $16.5 million increase in the fair value of digital assets and a $6.3 million non-cash gain from remeasuring its prior equity interest in AllDale III following the acquisition of AllDale III and IV. Those gains were partly offset by higher income-tax expense and a $7.3 million loss on derivative instruments assumed in the acquisition, including $6.7 million that was unrealized.

3 High-Yield Energy MLPs: A Stable Way to Invest in EnergyBeginning this quarter, ARLP changed its adjusted EBITDA presentation to include non-controlling interests and report adjusted EBITDA attributable to ARLP, excluding amounts attributable to non-controlling interests in AllDale III and IV and Cavalier Minerals. Prior-period figures were adjusted to conform with the revised presentation.

Coal operations benefit from higher volumes and lower costs Coal sales volumes reached 9.3 million tons, up 7.4% year over year and 9.2% sequentially. Coal segment adjusted EBITDA increased 18.6% from the prior-year quarter to $186.8 million, as higher volumes and lower expenses per ton outweighed lower average realized pricing.

Average coal sales price declined 8.3% year over year to $53.93 per ton, primarily because of a larger mix of lower-priced Tunnel Ridge volumes. Segment adjusted EBITDA expense per ton improved 13.1% to $35.64. The resulting spread between sales price and EBITDA expense widened to $18.29 per ton from $16.19 per ton in the second quarter.

In the Illinois Basin, volumes increased 6.4% year over year to 7 million tons, driven by Hamilton’s resumption of longwall production. Illinois Basin adjusted EBITDA rose 32.6% to $139.8 million, while adjusted EBITDA expense per ton fell 10.2% to $31.77.

Appalachia coal sales volumes climbed 10.7% to 2.3 million tons on strong Tunnel Ridge sales. However, average pricing in the region fell 25.1% to $62.35 per ton due to the larger Tunnel Ridge sales mix. Appalachia expense per ton improved 19.9% to $46.25.

Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Joe Craft said Hamilton set monthly production records in July and August after returning from an extended move and was the company’s lowest-cost operation during the quarter. He said the fourth quarter’s Illinois Basin cost performance should be comparable, while 2027 should benefit from a full year of Hamilton production.

Mettiki agreement restores production plans ARLP also announced a new multiyear coal supply agreement for its Mettiki operation, which had suspended mining after the partnership issued a WARN notice during the first quarter. The agreement will allow the mine and nearly 150 miners to return to production.

The mine is transitioning from longwall mining to two room-and-pillar sections operating two shifts per day by the end of the first quarter of 2027. ARLP expects Mettiki’s 2027 production to be about 550,000 tons higher than its 2026 production, with lower EBITDA expense per ton.

Craft said the agreement with Mettiki’s largest historical customer reflected the mine’s importance to the customer’s security of coal supply as it evaluates electricity demand tied to data-center contracts. He added that the revised mining approach could provide flexibility to participate selectively in the export metallurgical coal market.

ARLP said it added 4.2 million committed and priced coal tons through 2028 during the quarter. It has 31.7 million tons committed and priced for 2027, including 700,000 tons related to Mettiki’s new agreement. Export commitments total 3.7 million tons for 2026 and 3 million tons for 2027.

Craft said export volumes have exceeded expectations, although barge capacity constraints and higher transportation costs could limit growth. If logistics conditions improve, he said ARLP could potentially exceed this year’s coal sales volumes by 500,000 to 1 million tons without additional investment or operational changes.

Royalty business posts record revenue and volumes Total royalty revenue rose 52.5% year over year to $87.5 million, while royalty segment adjusted EBITDA attributable to ARLP increased 40% to $61.8 million.

The oil-and-gas royalty segment recorded quarterly records of $59.8 million in revenue and 1.45 million barrels of oil equivalent in volumes, largely reflecting the AllDale III and IV acquisition. Oil-and-gas royalty adjusted EBITDA attributable to ARLP increased 61.4% from a year earlier to $43.6 million.

Average sales price per barrel of oil equivalent rose 15.5% year over year to $41.21, as higher realized crude prices more than offset a greater natural-gas weighting after the acquisition. Sequentially, the average price declined 16.6% due to lower realized crude prices and the higher natural-gas mix.

Chief Financial Officer Cary Marshall said ARLP expects volume growth in 2027 even without further acquisitions, while also continuing to pursue royalty acquisitions and reinvest cash flow from the business. The partnership is completing reserve studies and expects to provide 2027 guidance with fourth-quarter results in February.

Cash flow strengthens as company tightens outlook Free cash flow totaled $198.6 million in the quarter, while distributable cash flow rose about 29% from a year earlier to $136.8 million. Distribution coverage increased to 1.76 times.

At Sept. 30, total debt and finance leases stood at $679.9 million, with net debt of $595 million. Total and net leverage were 0.89 times and 0.78 times trailing 12-month adjusted EBITDA attributable to ARLP, respectively. The partnership ended the quarter with $430.8 million of liquidity and held 673 Bitcoin valued at $56.3 million.

Marshall said ARLP expects to amortize a new $150 million, 18-month minerals debt facility using cash flow from its minerals business. Craft said the partnership intends to maintain distribution coverage of at least 1.5 times on a sustained basis before considering an increase in its distribution.

For 2026, ARLP tightened its coal guidance and now expects sales volumes of 34.5 million to 35.5 million tons, coal sales pricing of $54.25 to $54.75 per ton, and segment adjusted EBITDA expense of $37.50 to $38.50 per ton.
