Big Bank Earnings Preview: Bank of America, JPMorgan Stocks Starting to Rally — Will This Laggard Be Next? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Earnings season ramps up in full gear this week kicked off by quarterly financial results from some of the biggest publicly traded U.S. banks Tuesday and Wednesday. Here’s a look at the big banks set to repot this week, their 2026 performance and recent history. • Wells Fargo stock is holding steady today. Where are WFC shares going? Big Bank Earnings ReportsSix big banks report quarterly financial results this week and five of the banks have something in common: a recent record of beating analyst estimates for earnings per share and revenue. That recent history has translated into stock performance with the one laggard down year-to-date. The six big bank stocks reporting this week are: "While it’s been a mixed year for the financial sector overall, many of the large banks have been thriving," Freedom Capital Markets Chief Market Strategist Jay Woods said in a weekly newsletter. The laggard to Woods is Wells Fargo, with shares down 6.5% year-to-date. "Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Citi have all gained over 20% as trading revenue and an improving IPO landscape have helped fuel their returns. JPMorgan and Bank of America have started to rally." Earnings HistoryA look at the earnings history on Benzinga Pro shows that several big bank stocks have consistently beaten analyst estimates. Here is a look at each of the six big bank stocks and how they have performed versus analysts’ estimates for earnings per share and revenue over the past 10 quarters. Recent earnings success and, in the case of Wells Fargo, failures may translate best to stock performance this year. Here is the year-to-date performance as of Friday: Citgroup: +20.7% Goldman Sachs: +20.0% JPMorgan: +4.4% Bank of America: +8.5% Wells Fargo: -6.5% Morgan Stanley: +25.2% One of the two stocks that has beaten both earnings per share and revenue in all 10 of the past 10 quarters is the top performer, while the company that has missed estimates the most times over the past 10 quarters is the biggest underperformer. Key Items to WatchThe performance by the big bank stocks this week could have a significant impact on the financials sector and also point to overall economic conditions for the U.S. "Will higher for longer interest rates continue to support lending profits? Will a surge in IPOs and M&A activity supercharge Wall Street trading desks?" Woods asks in the newsletter. Woods said what the banking company leadership says about the health of the consumer and the economy could be key items to watch this week. "If the banks paint an optimistic picture while credit quality remains strong, it could reinforce the narrative that the economy is proving far more resilient than many expected. This could provide a needed tailwind for equities as earnings season gets underway." The six stocks make up 30.4% of the State Street Financial Sector ETF (NYSE:XLF). Together, the two stocks make up 15.7% of the Dow Jones Industrial Average tracking ETF. Image via Shutterstock Market News and Data brought to you by Benzinga APIs © 2026 Benzinga.com. ServiceNow vs. Atlassian: Which Cloud Software Stock Has an Edge? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Atlassian is seeing strong cloud growth driven by AI adoption, cross-selling and customer expansion. TEAM trades at a lower forward sales multiple than ServiceNow, offering a more attractive valuation. ServiceNow is benefiting from AI adoption but faces margin pressure from multiple acquisitions. ServiceNow (NOW - Free Report) and Atlassian (TEAM - Free Report) are two of the most important enterprise cloud software companies, helping large organizations modernize operations, automate workflows and manage critical business processes. While both benefit from long-term digital transformation trends, their business momentum and execution profiles differ meaningfully. For investors trying to choose between these two software leaders, a closer look at their fundamentals, growth outlook and risks helps determine which stock currently offers a stronger investment case. The Case for ServiceNow StockServiceNow has been benefiting from the rising adoption of its workflows by enterprises undergoing digital transformation. The company expects to achieve $1.5 billion in AI revenues in 2026 on the back of rising adoption of ServiceNow's AI products, such as Now Assist, across its customer base, where customers are deploying AI faster and on a much larger scale. Deals including three or more Now Assist products grew nearly 70% year over year in the first quarter, suggesting that customers are expanding AI usage across multiple workflows rather than testing a single AI feature. This bodes well for ServiceNow's prospects as customers are increasingly moving from AI pilots to full production deployments across their organizations and are now investing in AI across multiple business functions. Now Assist is also helping ServiceNow grow other AI products. The company stated that the adoption of Now Assist is driving demand for AI Control Tower and RaptorDB Pro. In the first quarter, AI Control Tower’s average deal sizes more than doubled sequentially, while RaptorDB Pro deal volume increased 80% year over year. Rising customer adoption and higher AI revenue expectations are positioning Now Assist to become an important driver of ServiceNow's AI growth strategy. However, ServiceNow is integrating several acquisitions at the same time, including Moveworks, Armis, Veza and Pyramid Analytics. As a result of its back-to-back acquisitions, ServiceNow will need to integrate the acquired products, employees, technologies and sales teams into its existing business. As a result, the company will incur higher costs. These costs are expected to hurt the company's profitability before the benefits of synergies from acquisitions are fully realized. For instance, the Armis acquisition is also expected to put pressure on profitability in 2026. Management expects Armis to reduce 2026 subscription gross margin by 25 basis points, operating margin by 75 basis points and free cash flow margin by 200 basis points. For the second quarter of 2026, Armis is expected to reduce its operating margin by 125 basis points. If customer adoption is slower than expected, the revenue contribution from these businesses could take longer to materialize. The Case for Atlassian StockAtlassian's cloud business remained a key growth driver in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. Cloud revenues increased 29% year over year to more than $1.1 billion, helping total revenues grow 32% to $1.8 billion. The strong performance was driven by higher customer adoption, cross-selling and continued demand for the company's cloud-based products. AI is playing an important role in this growth. Management said customers using its AI product, Rovo, are growing their annual recurring revenues (ARR) at about twice the rate of customers that do not use Rovo. Rovo's credit usage is growing more than 20% month over month, while millions of users are actively using the platform. In addition, more customers are adopting Teamwork Collection, which combines Jira, Confluence, Loom and Rovo into one offering. This bundle is helping Atlassian sell more products to existing customers and increase cloud spending. The company's cloud business is benefiting from steady enterprise adoption. Management said cloud migrations from the Data Center remain on track and are expected to contribute mid- to high-single-digit cloud growth over time. TEAM's seat expansion remains healthy, while Net Revenue Retention stayed above 120% in the third quarter, as customers continue to adopt more products and expand their spending across the Atlassian platform. The above-mentioned factors show that Atlassian's cloud business appears well positioned for continued growth. Rising AI adoption, higher cross-selling through Teamwork Collection and ongoing cloud migrations are helping the company expand its customer relationships. If these trends continue, the cloud business is likely to remain Atlassian's biggest growth driver in the coming quarters. How do Earnings Estimates Compare for NOW & TEAM?The Zacks Consensus Estimate for NOW’s 2026 EPS is pegged at $4.13, unchanged over the past 30 days, indicating year-over-year growth of 17.7%. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Zacks Consensus Estimate for TEAM’s fiscal 2026 EPS is pinned at $5.48, unchanged over the past 30 days, indicating year-over-year growth of 48.9%. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research NOW vs. TEAM: Price Performance and ValuationYear to date, shares of NOW and TEAM have plunged 29.7% and 45.2%, respectively. NOW Vs. TEAM: YTD Price Return Performance Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Currently, TEAM is trading at a forward sales multiple of 3.06X, lower than NOW’s forward sales multiple of 6.26X. TEAM’s reasonable valuation makes it more attractive for investors looking for value and stability. NOW vs. TEAM: Forward 12-Month P/S Ratio Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Conclusion: TEAM Has an Edge Over NOWBoth ServiceNow and Atlassian are well-positioned to benefit from the AI wave. However, ServiceNow faces near-term risks, such as dilutive impact on margins as a result of its back-to-back acquisitions, which could hurt the company’s prospects in the near term. In contrast, Atlassian shows steadier execution, where the company is witnessing strong momentum in its cloud business, driven by robust adoption of its AI products. TEAM’s reasonable valuation offers some downside protection as well, giving TEAM a clear edge over NOW. Currently, NOW and TEAM carry a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) each at present. This Stock is My Biggest Bet For 2026 | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
© Arsenii Palivoda / Shutterstock.comI keep hitting the buy button on Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL | AAPL Price Prediction), and going into the back half of 2026 this is the largest position I own. I want to explain, in plain terms, why my money keeps landing here quarter after quarter. What pulls me back is simple. Apple pairs a subscription-like Services engine with a hardware franchise that just posted its best March quarter ever, wrapped inside a capital return program built to compound in the background whether or not the stock cooperates in any given month. The Services Engine Is the Anchor In Q2 FY26 the segment hit an all-time record of $30.98 billion at a 76.7% gross margin, growing 16% year over year. That is a software business hiding inside a hardware company, riding 2.5 billion active devices. CFO Kevan Parekh described the growth as “broad-based, with all-time records in both developed and emerging markets.” Recurring, high-margin, sticky. The iPhone 17 Cycle Is Real iPhone revenue climbed 22% to $56.99 billion in Q2 FY26. Q1 FY26 iPhone revenue reached $85.27 billion versus $69.14 billion a year earlier. Greater China rose 33% in the first half of FY26, and Tim Cook said customer enthusiasm has been “extraordinary” with demand still outrunning supply. This franchise is accelerating. The Capital Return Machine The board authorized a fresh $100 billion buyback, raised the dividend 4% to $0.27 quarterly, and Parekh noted Apple has returned over $1 trillion to shareholders since the program began, “$850 billion of which has been through share repurchases.” FY25 buybacks alone were $90.71 billion, and operating cash flow was $53.92 billion in Q1 FY26 alone. Why Apple and Not the ETF The obvious alternative a mega-cap tech buyer would reach for is Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ). I own it too. But over the last 12 months AAPL returned 49.04%, and in the 30 days after the Q2 FY26 filing AAPL rose 10.75% versus 10.39% for QQQ. When I want concentrated exposure to the ecosystem generating $53.92 billion of quarterly operating cash flow, I would rather own the single company than dilute it across 99 other tickers. Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Apple didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today. The Real Risk Memory costs. Cook told analysts Apple expects higher memory costs in the June quarter and that beyond June, “memory costs will drive an increasing impact on our business.” That is real gross margin pressure. The thesis still holds because Services carries a 76.7% gross margin, iPhone 17 demand still outruns supply, and Apple just signed a chip agreement with Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) worth more than $30 billion, adding another supply lever alongside pricing and mix flexibility. Where Conviction Points Next Retail sentiment stays measured here, which is one reason I keep buying. Reddit sentiment sits at 44 to 56 through the OpenAI lawsuit news cycle. The stock trades at a P/E of 41. The 90% confidence base case projects $354.61 within a year and $472.28 over five years, a 49.78% total return. Analyst counts show 28 buys to 3 sells. I own Apple for the compounding. As long as Services keeps printing records, the 2.5 billion device installed base keeps expanding, and the buyback keeps shrinking the share count, my finger stays on the buy button. Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Apple didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today. Why Honda Motor (HMC) is a Top Value Stock for the Long-Term | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
It doesn't matter your age or experience: taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for all investors. Luckily, Zacks Premium offers several different ways to do both.Featuring daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, the research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor. Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores. What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores is a unique set of guidelines that rates stocks based on three popular investing types, and were developed as complementary indicators for the Zacks Rank. This combination helps investors choose securities with the highest chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics. Just like in school, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on -- that means the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform. The Style Scores are broken down into four categories: Value ScoreValue investors love finding good stocks at good prices, especially before the broader market catches on to a stock's true value. Utilizing ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and many other multiples, the Value Style Score identifies the most attractive and most discounted stocks. Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time. Momentum ScoreMomentum investors, who live by the saying "the trend is your friend," are most interested in taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Utilizing one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, among other factors, the Momentum Style Score can help determine favorable times to buy high-momentum stocks. VGM ScoreWhat if you like to use all three types of investing? The VGM Score is a combination of all Style Scores, making it one of the most comprehensive indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, which helps narrow down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier. #1 (Strong Buy) stocks have produced an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988, which is more than double the S&P 500's performance over the same time frame. However, the Zacks Rank examines a ton of stocks, and there can be more than 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, and another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. With more than 800 top-rated stocks to choose from, it can certainly feel overwhelming to pick the ones that are right for you and your investing journey. That's where the Style Scores come in. To maximize your returns, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. This means picking stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you find yourself looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, make sure they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible. Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy. For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well. Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better. Stock to Watch: Honda Motor (HMC - Free Report) Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of automobiles and the largest producer of motorcycles in the world. The company is recognized internationally for its wide variety of products, ranging from small general-purpose engines to specialty sports cars, which incorporate its efficient internal combustion engine technologies. Honda operates through four business segments: HMC is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of B. It also boasts a Value Style Score of A thanks to attractive valuation metrics like a forward P/E ratio of 30.25; value investors should take notice. Two analysts revised their earnings estimate higher in the last 60 days for fiscal 2027, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $1.21 to $0.92 per share. HMC also boasts an average earnings surprise of +90.2%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Value and VGM Style Scores, HMC should be on investors' short list. |

The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform. The Style Scores are broken down into four categories: Value ScoreFor value investors, it's all about finding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value before the broader market catches on. The Value Style Score utilizes ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to help pick out the most attractive and discounted stocks. Growth ScoreWhile good value is important, growth investors are more focused on a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score takes projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow into account to uncover stocks that will see long-term, sustainable growth. VGM ScoreIf you like to use all three kinds of investing, then the VGM Score is for you. It's a combination of all Style Scores, and is an important indicator to use with the Zacks Rank. The VGM Score rates each stock on their shared weighted styles, narrowing down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank is a proprietary stock-rating model that harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to help investors build a successful portfolio. Investors can count on the Zacks Rank's success, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988, more than double the S&P 500's performance. But the model rates a large number of stocks, and there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. With more than 800 top-rated stocks to choose from, it can certainly feel overwhelming to pick the ones that are right for you and your investing journey. That's where the Style Scores come in. To have the best chance of big returns, you'll want to always consider stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B, which will give you the highest probability of success. If you're looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, it's important they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible. As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy. Here's an example: a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one with Style Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings outlook, and a bigger chance its share price will decrease too. Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better. Stock to Watch: Autodesk (ADSK - Free Report) San Francisco, CA-based Autodesk develops model-based design, engineering and documentation software. The company serves customers in architecture, engineering and construction; product design and manufacturing; and digital media and entertainment industries. ADSK is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of A. Momentum investors should take note of this Computer and Technology stock. ADSK has a Momentum Style Score of B, and shares are up 5.1% over the past four weeks. Nine analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days for fiscal 2027. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.22 to $12.58 per share. ADSK boasts an average earnings surprise of +7.1%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Momentum and VGM Style Scores, ADSK should be on investors' short list. |

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (PANW) is Attracting Investor Attention: Here is What You Should Know | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Palo Alto Networks (PANW - Free Report) is one of the stocks most watched by Zacks.com visitors lately. So, it might be a good idea to review some of the factors that might affect the near-term performance of the stock.Over the past month, shares of this security software maker have returned +16.6%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +4.3% change. During this period, the Zacks Security industry, which Palo Alto falls in, has gained 18.5%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction? Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision. Earnings Estimate RevisionsRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings. We essentially look at how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to reflect the impact of the latest business trends. And if earnings estimates go up for a company, the fair value for its stock goes up. A higher fair value than the current market price drives investors' interest in buying the stock, leading to its price moving higher. This is why empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements. Palo Alto is expected to post earnings of $0.97 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +2.1%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged. For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $3.77 points to a change of +12.9% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has remained unchanged. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $4.08 indicates a change of +8.1% from what Palo Alto is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has remained unchanged. Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, Palo Alto is rated Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate: 12 Month EPS Projected Revenue GrowthEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial. For Palo Alto, the consensus sales estimate for the current quarter of $3.35 billion indicates a year-over-year change of +32.1%. For the current and next fiscal years, $11.41 billion and $13.72 billion estimates indicate +23.7% and +20.2% changes, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryPalo Alto reported revenues of $3 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +31.1%. EPS of $0.85 for the same period compares with $0.8 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.94 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +2%. The EPS surprise was +4.94%. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters. The company topped consensus revenue estimates each time over this period. ValuationWithout considering a stock's valuation, no investment decision can be efficient. In predicting a stock's future price performance, it's crucial to determine whether its current price correctly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects. Comparing the current value of a company's valuation multiples, such as its price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), to its own historical values helps ascertain whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, whereas comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of how reasonable its stock price is. The Zacks Value Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which pays close attention to both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics to grade stocks from A to F (an A is better than a B; a B is better than a C; and so on), is pretty helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued. Palo Alto is graded F on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Palo Alto. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term. |

BlackBerry vs. Palo Alto Networks: Which Cybersecurity Stock Wins? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways BlackBerry's fiscal Q1 revenue rose 26% to $153M, with positive operating cash flow after nine years.BB reaffirmed Secure Comms revenue guidance and highlighted QNX momentum in automotive software.PANW grew revenue 31%, but integration costs and intense competition may pressure near-term profits. Cybersecurity has become one of the fastest-growing segments in enterprise technology as organizations face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. From ransomware attacks to AI-powered phishing campaigns, businesses are investing heavily in security solutions to protect their digital assets. Against this backdrop, investors continue to look for cybersecurity companies capable of delivering sustainable long-term growth. Two companies that often attract investor attention are BlackBerry Limited (BB - Free Report) and Palo Alto Networks (PANW - Free Report) . Per a report from Fortune Business Insights, the global cybersecurity market is estimated to go from $248.3 billion in 2026 to $699.4 billion by 2034 at a CAGR of 13.8%. While both operate in cybersecurity, they are at very different stages of their transformation and growth journeys. BlackBerry is reinventing itself after exiting the smartphone business, while Palo Alto Networks has established itself as a dominant force in enterprise cybersecurity. Both help enterprises defend against cyber threats, though with different product focuses. So, which stock offers the better investment opportunity today? The Case for BB StockBlackBerry operates primarily through two businesses –Secure Communications and Cybersecurity and QNX embedded software for automotive and industrial applications. Its cybersecurity offerings include endpoint security, identity protection, secure communications and AI-driven threat detection. Its QNX operating system powers millions of vehicles worldwide and is increasingly benefiting from trends such as connected cars and ADAS. BB delivered a strong start to fiscal 2027, with first-quarter revenue rising 26% year over year to $153 million, surpassing guidance. Its adjusted EBITDA more than doubled to about $36 million and generated a positive operating cash flow of about $5 million, marking its first positive first-quarter operating cash flow in nine years. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research One area where BlackBerry clearly differentiates itself is automotive software. As autonomous driving, software-defined vehicles and electric vehicles continue growing, QNX could become an increasingly valuable asset. QNX is driven by record development license revenue, new automotive and GEM design wins, and continued momentum in long-term opportunities such as GEM expansion, Physical AI and the Alloy Kore platform. Secure Communications delivered its strongest quarter in years, with revenue increasing 24% year over year, driven by robust government demand and significant contract wins. Customer retention, recurring revenue and government demand for secure communications solutions continue to show encouraging momentum. A multiyear expansion with Shared Services Canada, driven by rising demand for digital sovereignty and cybersecurity, significantly boosted fiscal first-quarter revenue through the expanded deployment of Secusmart's encrypted communications solutions. Management cautioned that large government contracts have long sales cycles, making this quarter’s outsized growth unlikely to recur every quarter. Still, this unit is evolving into a stable growth business with upside from major government wins. Recently, BB upgraded AtHoc with Microsoft Teams and Entra ID integrations for faster emergency response. AtHoc supports recurring software revenue alongside Secure Comm and QNX growth. In June, the Secure Comms arm also upgraded its Unified Endpoint Management platform, aimed at addressing the evolving needs of enterprises, governments and highly regulated industries. The company reaffirmed its full-year revenue guidance for Secure Comms of $270–$280 million, representing 4–8% growth. Despite possessing valuable technology, BlackBerry continues to face challenges. Revenue growth has remained inconsistent over the past few years, reflecting intense competition in enterprise cybersecurity. Larger rivals with broader product portfolios have captured a significant share of new enterprise spending. Although management has streamlined operations and reduced costs, investors are still waiting for sustained revenue acceleration and stronger profitability. Investors should also recognize that automotive software follows longer development cycles than enterprise cybersecurity, meaning revenue growth tends to be slower and less predictable. The Case for PANW StockPalo Alto continues to benefit from higher cybersecurity priority as enterprises deploy AI and look to consolidate vendors onto fewer platforms. PANW reported fiscal third-quarter revenues of $3 billion, expanding 31% year over year. The company continues to strengthen its AI-driven cybersecurity platform, leveraging advanced AI models and strategic partnerships to enhance threat detection and defense. Strong customer demand drove continued platform adoption, with 110 new platformizations during the quarter, supporting its long-term goal of surpassing 4,000 platformized customers and reaching $20 billion in next-generation security ARR by fiscal 2030. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Post-acquisition integration remains on track, with product innovation, cost efficiencies and cross-selling driving faster-than-expected profitability. CyberArk and Chronosphere continue to strengthen growth in next-generation security, while operational efficiencies and synergy realization support the company's long-term margin and free cash flow targets. These additions expand Palo Alto’s addressable markets into identity security and observability, which management views as crucial in an agentic AI era. PANW reported RPO of $18.4 billion, 36% year over year. Around $1.8 billion came from acquired businesses. A growing RPO indicates customers are committing to larger, longer-term cybersecurity contracts. This provides excellent revenue visibility and demonstrates confidence in the company's integrated platform strategy. The company continues to advance its platform capabilities, endpoint security and AI-native solutions. In June, PANW expanded Project Lightwell with IBM and Red Hat, integrating virtual patching and software remediation to help organizations identify vulnerabilities and reduce exposure to emerging cyber threats. Also, it partnered with Deutsche Telekom to launch Sovereign Cortex with T Security, delivering AI-driven security operations with enhanced data sovereignty controls for regulated European industries. In May, PANW completed the acquisition of Portkey, expanding its Prisma AIRS platform with capabilities to monitor, orchestrate and govern AI agents at scale. It launched Idira, an identity security platform designed to manage and secure human, machine and AI agent identities across enterprises. However, near-term prospects for Palo Alto might be hurt by changing customer behavior. In the past few quarters, various competitors in the cybersecurity space have noticed that the companies have been breaking their cybersecurity investment plans into phases and implementing the same over longer periods of time, instead of making a single large investment. Rising integration costs from the CyberArk and Chronosphere acquisitions are expected to weigh on PANW's near-term profitability as the company integrates employees, operations and go-to-market teams. Increasing competition from Microsoft, CrowdStrike and other cybersecurity firms is a major woe. To survive in the highly competitive cybersecurity market, each player must continually invest in broadening its capabilities. Over the past few years, Palo Alto has invested heavily to enhance its sales and marketing capabilities, particularly by increasing the sales force. This has raised its operating expenses. Slower operating leverage would weigh on it even if revenues remain on plan. Furthermore, though PANW foresees these investments to garner benefits over the long run, uncertainty about the payback period still looms. Price Performance Trajectory for BB & PANWYear to date, BB and PANW have registered gains of 189.4% and 76.9%, respectively. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Valuation ComparisonsBlackBerry typically trades at a much lower valuation because investors remain uncertain about its turnaround. A lower valuation can offer potential upside if management successfully accelerates growth. Palo Alto Networks commands a premium valuation. In terms of the forward 12-month price/earnings multiple, BB is trading at 72.67X, lower than PANW's 146.44X. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research How Does the Zacks Consensus Estimate Compare for BB & PANW?The Zacks Consensus Estimate for BB earnings for fiscal 2027 has been revised down over the past 60 days. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Meanwhile, for PANW, there is a marginal upward estimate revision. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research BB or PANW: Which Stock is the Better Buy?If BlackBerry successfully expands cybersecurity adoption while monetizing QNX more effectively, its shares could deliver healthy long-term gains. However, the path remains uncertain. Platform consolidation, AI security demand, expanding recurring revenues and cash flow, and disciplined integration support steady long-term growth for Palo Alto. However, intensifying competition, an uncertain economic environment and acquisition integration risks remain key concerns. BB, at present, carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) while PANW has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Consequently, in terms of Zacks Rank and valuations, BB provides a more compelling risk-reward profile for investors. Watch our latest video highlighting the key allegations: Cannot view this video? Visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFoJC-j0rW0 Faruqi & Faruqi is a leading national securities law firm with offices in New York, Pennsylvania, California and Georgia. The firm has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for investors since its founding in 1995. See www.faruqilaw.com. According to the complaint, defendants provided overwhelmingly positive statements to investors while, at the same time, disseminating materially false and misleading statements and/or concealing material adverse facts concerning the true state of Roblox's organic growth potential; notably, that Roblox would see a significant slowdown in its growth rates as enrollment in the age verification rollout would quickly taper, compounding the resulting slowdown in on-platform communication, resulting in app store rating reductions and a swift reduction in organic growth. Such statements absent these material facts caused Plaintiff and other shareholders to purchase Roblox's securities at artificially inflated prices. On April 30, 2026, Roblox announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2026. Management slashed bookings growth guidance down to 8-12% and a corresponding decline to margin expectations. Defendants disclosed the age verification rollout had caused much more significant impacts engagement and organic growth than management had previously suggested and age check adoption had only increased to 51% global daily active users, from 45% at the end of the previous quarter. Investors and analysts reacted immediately to Roblox's revelation. The price of Roblox's common stock declined dramatically. From a closing market price of $55.26 per share on April 30, 2026, Roblox's stock price fell to $45.13 per share on May 1, 2026, a decline of about 18.33% in the span of just a single day. The court-appointed lead plaintiff is the investor with the largest financial interest in the relief sought by the class who is adequate and typical of class members who directs and oversees the litigation on behalf of the putative class. Any member of the putative class may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through counsel of their choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member. Your ability to share in any recovery is not affected by the decision to serve as a lead plaintiff or not. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Investors Regarding the Roblox Corporation Securities Class Action Lawsuit: What is the Roblox Corporation securities fraud lawsuit about? The Roblox Corporation securities fraud lawsuit is a federal securities class action alleging that Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX) and its executives made false and misleading statements to investors by concealing that the Company's age verification rollout would cause a significant slowdown in growth rates, reduce on-platform communication, lead to app store rating reductions, and materially impair Roblox's organic growth potential. As the truth emerged on April 30, 2026 — when Roblox announced Q1 fiscal 2026 results, slashed bookings growth guidance to just 8-12%, disclosed margin deterioration, and revealed that age verification adoption had only reached 51% of global daily active users (up from just 45% the prior quarter), signaling far greater engagement impacts than management had previously suggested — RBLX's stock price fell from $55.26 to $45.13 per share, a decline of approximately 18.33% in a single day, causing significant losses for investors. Who may be eligible to participate in the Roblox Corporation class action lawsuit? Investors who purchased or acquired Roblox Corporation (RBLX) securities between October 30, 2025 and April 30, 2026 — the Class Period — and suffered financial losses may be eligible to participate in the Roblox securities class action. Participation as a class member does not require taking any affirmative legal action; eligible investors may recover losses simply by remaining members of the class. Whistleblowers, former Roblox employees, and others with relevant information about the Company's conduct are also encouraged to come forward. What is a lead plaintiff, and how can I seek appointment in the Roblox Corporation lawsuit? A lead plaintiff in the Roblox Corporation class action is a court-appointed investor — typically the one with the largest financial interest in the case — who directs and oversees the litigation on behalf of all class members. Any Roblox investor who purchased RBLX securities during the Class Period may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through counsel of their choice. The deadline to seek lead plaintiff appointment is August 7, 2026. Importantly, choosing not to seek the lead plaintiff role does not affect an investor's ability to share in any recovery obtained for the class. What should investors do if they purchased Roblox Corporation stock during the Class Period? Investors who purchased Roblox Corporation (RBLX) securities between October 30, 2025 and April 30, 2026 and suffered losses should contact Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP immediately to discuss their legal rights. Key Takeaways S&P Global benefits from recurring subscription revenues and broad-based first-quarter segment growth.SPGI is expanding AI integrations as Capital IQ Pro demand and AI-enabled customer growth accelerate.S&P Global continues dividends and buybacks despite rising expenses, competition and liquidity concerns. S&P Global (SPGI - Free Report) strengthens its position through its recurring subscription-based revenue model and strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI)-powered services. Continued positive segmental performance provides a strong foundation for future objectives. Strong shareholder policies remain favorable for the company. The company’s second-quarter 2026 earnings are expected to increase 11.5% year over year. Its 2026 and 2027 earnings are projected to rise 9.9% and 12.8%, respectively. Revenues are expected to grow 7.5% in both 2026 and 2027. Factors That Bode Well for SPGIS&P Global’s continued growth is primarily driven by its recurring subscription-based revenue model, supported by the model’s inherent resilience and compelling growth drivers, despite heightened geopolitical tensions and an increasingly uncertain macroeconomic environment. During the first quarter of 2026, the company reported that subscription product revenues increased 6% year over year. SPGI’s consistent growth of individual segments also plays a key role in its overall success. The company reported that revenues from the Ratings division increased 13% in the first quarter of 2026, driven by robust investment-grade issuance and large merger & acquisition financing transactions. Its Market Intelligence revenues increased 8% and the Energy Division posted 7% revenue growth year over year, while revenues from the Indices segment increased 17% year over year during the same period. Continued demand from hyperscale technology companies adopting artificial intelligence (AI) and investing heavily in infrastructure is also boosting the company's sales volumes. SPGI’s Data Analytics & Insights is benefiting from strong demand for its financial market intelligence and research platform, Capital IQ Pro. The company continues to expand compatibility with leading AI platforms by enabling seamless data access for Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude through the Model Context Protocol. Management highlighted that customers leveraging AI-enabled offerings are generating significantly faster annual contract value growth than traditional customers. The company has demonstrated a strong commitment to its shareholders through consistent dividend payments and share repurchases. This consistency underscores its dedication to creating long-term value for investors. Risks to WatchGlobal providers of financial intelligence, index products and investment advisory operate in a fiercely competitive landscape. S&P Global faces stiff competition from firms such as Moody's Corp. and Fitch Ratings. Aggressive, investor-friendly strategies by competitors could erode the company’s market position, dampening top-line growth and operating margins. SPGI’s total expenses related to productivity programs, compensation investments, technology development, acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives have risen consistently over the past three years, increasing from 3.4% in 2023, 3.3% in 2024 and 5% in 2025. In the first quarter of 2026, SPGI reported that its total expenses rose 6.1% year over year to $2.34 billion. This persistent expense growth is raising cost concerns that may compromise future profit margins. SPGI’s current ratio (a measure of liquidity) at the end of the first quarter of 2026 was 0.68, lower than the industry average of 1.01. A current ratio below 1 often indicates that the company may not be well-positioned to pay off its short-term obligations. S&P Global currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Zacks Premium provides lots of different ways to do both.Featuring daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, the research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor. Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores. What are the Zacks Style Scores? Developed alongside the Zacks Rank, the Zacks Style Scores are a group of complementary indicators that help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics, each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F. The better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform; an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on. Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time. Momentum ScoreMomentum traders and investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." This investing style is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Employing factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, the Momentum Style Score can indicate favorable times to build a position in high-momentum stocks. VGM ScoreIf you want a combination of all three Style Scores, then the VGM Score will be your friend. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, helping you find the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. It's also one of the best indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier. This totals more than 800 top-rated stocks, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick the best stocks for you and your portfolio. That's where the Style Scores come in. You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible. As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy. A stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, for instance, even one with Scores of A and B, will still have a declining earnings forecast, and a greater chance its share price will fall too. Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better. Stock to Watch: Freeport-McMoRan (FCX - Free Report) Based in Phoenix, AZ, Freeport-McMoRan Inc., formerly Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., is engaged in mineral exploration and development; mining and milling of copper, gold, molybdenum and silver; as well as the smelting and refining of copper concentrates. The company conducts its operations primarily through its principal operating subsidiaries, PT Freeport Indonesia (PT-FI), Freeport Minerals Corporation and Atlantic Copper. PT Freeport Indonesia’s principal asset is Papua, Indonesia-based Grasberg mine, which contains the world’s largest copper and gold reserves. FCX is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of A. Additionally, the company could be a top pick for growth investors. FCX has a Growth Style Score of B, forecasting year-over-year earnings growth of 51.4% for the current fiscal year. Five analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days for fiscal 2026. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.13 to $2.68 per share. FCX boasts an average earnings surprise of +32.1%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Growth and VGM Style Scores, FCX should be on investors' short list. |

3 Shipping And Insurance Stocks To Watch As Hormuz Tensions Rise | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
When the Middle East conflict spikes, most investors rush to oil stocks and crude futures. That reaction makes sense, but it can miss a trade that often becomes just as important when geopolitical risk hits a major shipping chokepoint: the companies that can make more money when moving oil become slower, riskier, and pricier. That is why the latest Iran-U.S. military escalation and the market reaction to President Trump’s remarks deserve attention well beyond Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Chevron Corp. (CVX). As threats, strikes, and warnings over Gulf shipping security push the Strait of Hormuz back into focus, investors are again asking which stocks could benefit if oil tankers face delays, rerouting, and higher insurance costs. In that setup, tanker stocks and insurance-linked names can be some of the most direct ways to play disruption in the global oil trade. Why These Stocks Are Important In This CaseThe reason is simple. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy corridors. Roughly 20 million barrels of oil per day move through the waterway, equal to about one-fifth of global petroleum liquids consumption based on widely cited U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates. The route is also critical for liquefied natural gas exports, especially from Qatar. Even without a full shutdown, a credible threat to shipping can move freight markets quickly. War-risk insurance premiums can surge as underwriters reprice danger in the Gulf. Voyage times can also lengthen if cargoes are rerouted around the Cape of Good Hope, adding roughly 10 to 15 days to some routes and reducing fleet availability even if no ships are physically removed from service. For stock-market investors, that creates a more useful watchlist than oil majors alone. Instead of tracking only crude prices, it can pay to follow shipping stocks, marine-insurance brokers, and companies with earnings tied to freight rates, ton-mile demand, and risk pricing. International Seaways (NYSE:INSW)International Seaways is one of the largest publicly traded tanker owners in the market, with exposure across both crude and refined-product shipping. As a result, that broad fleet mix matters because a disruption tied to Hormuz can tighten multiple parts of the seaborne energy market at once. If ships avoid the Gulf or face delays entering and exiting the region, cargoes may need longer alternate routes, including around southern Africa. In shipping, that does not just raise fuel and operating costs. It ties up vessels for longer periods, which shrinks available supply and can push charter rates higher. For investors, the key metric is time charter equivalent, or TCE, rates. TCE is one of the cleanest ways to measure a tanker company’s daily earning power. This is because it strips out some voyage-specific noise and shows how much cash a ship is generating on a per-day basis. When geopolitical tension drives ton-mile demand higher, TCE is usually one of the first places where the impact shows up. In recent reported periods, International Seaways has posted spot earnings in the tens of thousands of dollars per day across major vessel classes while also returning capital through dividends and buybacks. This combination gives investors two ways to win if freight conditions strengthen, including higher operating cash flow and the potential for larger shareholder returns. Therefore, investors should pay attention to spot and blended TCE rates, fleet utilization, and booked days. Other metrics to consider are quarterly free cash flow, dividend yield, share repurchases, and net loan-to-value. Marsh McLennan (NYSE:MMC)If International Seaways is the freight-rate trade, Marsh McLennan offers a different way to invest in the same macro theme. Unlike tanker operators, it does not depend on vessel day rates. Its opportunity arises from the rising financial cost of conflict. Marsh is one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, with exposure to marine, cargo, and specialty-risk lines. When shipping corridors become more dangerous, shipowners, charterers, and cargo interests often seek additional coverage, while insurers raise war-risk premiums to reflect elevated threat levels. For context, such developments could drive pricing to change fast. During periods of military escalation, war-risk premiums for tankers transiting high-risk zones can jump from a minimal line item to a six-figure voyage expense, depending on vessel size, cargo value, route, and insurer appetite. For customers, that is a cost increase. For brokers arranging coverage and advising clients through the disruption, it can support stronger commission activity and advisory demand. This environment is also where Trump’s rhetoric matters to investors. Even before physical oil flows change, a tougher U.S. posture toward Iran can alter the market’s perception of Gulf shipping risk. Marine insurance markets do not need a formal blockade to reprice danger. They respond to the probability of disruption. Marsh McLennan is not a pure-play marine-insurance stock, which may be precisely why some investors prefer it. The company is diversified, less volatile than most tanker equities, and it generates recurring brokerage and consulting revenue. With annual revenue above $20 billion and a history of steady adjusted earnings growth, it offers a more defensive way to gain exposure to geopolitical risk pricing. Investors should watch organic revenue growth in risk and insurance services, margin expansion, adjusted EPS growth, and management commentary around pricing in marine and specialty-risk markets. Where International Seaways gives investors broad tanker exposure and Marsh captures the insurance side, Scorpio Tankers is one of the clearest stock-market plays on refined-product shipping. Its fleet focuses on gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products, giving it a different sensitivity than crude-tanker owners. This matters, especially if Iran-U.S. tensions continue to disrupt trade flows. Product tanker markets can tighten quickly because regional fuel imbalances often appear faster than crude dislocations. If refinery output is delayed, rerouted, or disrupted, buyers may need replacement cargoes from farther away, which increases ton-miles and can lift product-tanker rates quickly. Scorpio has shown how powerful that earnings leverage can become in strong freight markets. In stronger periods, parts of its LR2 fleet have earned around $80,000 per day or more on a TCE basis. For investors, that is a critical number because product tanker stocks can rerate quickly when the market starts pricing in sustained high daily earnings. The other attraction is capital return. Scorpio has spent recent years reducing debt and returning excess cash through dividends and buybacks. Therefore, investors should monitor LR2, MR, and Handymax TCE rates, break-even levels versus spot earnings, debt reduction, capital returns, and signs of diesel or jet-fuel trade dislocation. If refined-product routes stretch and vessel supply tightens, Scorpio’s earnings power can increase quickly. Strait of Hormuz: What Else Matters? The latest Iran-U.S. confrontation has reinforced a market reality that has not changed in decades. For conext, the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints, and markets do not need a full closure to react. A credible threat, military strike, seizure risk, or hardline rhetoric from Washington or Tehran can be enough to change tanker routing, vessel availability, and insurance pricing. That is why Trump’s comments matter even when they do not immediately alter physical supply. If traders believe U.S. policy is becoming more aggressive toward Iran, they may start pricing in a higher probability of disruption across Gulf shipping lanes. This can ripple into tanker rates, war-risk premiums, oil volatility, and energy-equity positioning before a sustained supply shock ever arrives. The result is a broader market trade than many investors first assume. Oil and LNG cargoes face higher transit risk. Besides that, vessel owners can gain pricing power if ships are delayed or rerouted. Insurance brokers can benefit from the rising demand for war-risk and marine coverage. Importers and refiners, meanwhile, absorb the higher transportation and protection costs. Furthermore, this is why investors looking at Strait of Hormuz stocks should track more than Brent crude. Freight rates, insurance pricing, and ton-mile demand can matter just as much as the direction of oil prices. Key Metrics to WatchOn the company side, investors should watch TCE guidance, booked days, EBITDA, free cash flow, dividend yields, buyback activity, and net debt. It also helps to track options-implied volatility in oil and whether tanker stocks start outperforming the broader energy sector after fresh comments from Washington or Tehran. Those signals can help show whether the market views the disruption as a short-lived headline shock or the start of a more durable change in freight economics. Strait of Hormuz Situation: Final TakeIf tensions around the Strait of Hormuz stay elevated, the biggest stock-market winners may not be oil producers. They may be the companies that earn more when moving oil becomes more dangerous. International Seaways and Scorpio Tankers offer direct exposure to higher freight rates and tighter vessel supply. Marsh McLennan offers a more defensive angle through marine and war-risk insurance brokerage. For Benzinga readers, that makes the situation more than an oil story. It is a trade on shipping disruption, pricing power, and the rising cost of keeping global energy flows moving. With fresh Iran-U.S. military action back in focus and Trump’s comments shaping market expectations, these three Strait of Hormuz stocks are worth watching closely. Suncor Energy Is Up 30% This Year. Is It Still Worth Buying? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Suncor Energy (SU +2.75%) has benefited from favorable economic conditions this year, but it's the Canadian company's standout operational improvements that have helped its stock shoot up 30% in 2026.Suncor's CEO, Rich Kruger, has taken a disciplined approach to get the energy producer's financials and margins in shape. This has resulted in more cash returned to shareholders and the company hitting its three-year Investor Day targets an entire year early. Today's Change ( 2.75 %) $ 1.63 Current Price $ 60.88 If oil prices continue to fall, Suncor's integrated business can help offset a portion of the volatility. Ultimately, it is better positioned than some other competitors if a real oil downturn happens. It's easy to think that an energy company the size of Suncor gaining 30% in less than a calendar year means most of the run is already over. However, there's still plenty of potential, particularly for income investors. Image source: Getty Images. The stock currently offers a $0.43 quarterly dividend, yielding nearly 3%. Even with the 30% rise in price this year, Suncor's forward price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) is still around 9, below the sector's average of around 13. The analysts' average price target for Suncor is $63 per share, which the stock was still below at the time of this writing. A solid yield and fair price, combined with operational efficiency and improved leadership, are why I'm bullish on Suncor Energy for the long term, no matter which direction oil prices go. Backed by healthy refining margins, efficient oil sands operations and consistent shareholder return, the company has continued to strengthen investor confidence despite a volatile commodity price environment.Over the past 12 months, SU’s shares have rallied 48.7%, significantly outperforming the broader Oil-Energy Sector's (ZS12M) 24% rise. The stock's return, which is more than double that of the sector, reflects the market's confidence in Suncor's ability to execute its long-term strategy while delivering strong operational and financial performance. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Suncor is one of Canada's largest integrated energy companies, with operations spanning oil sands mining, conventional oil and natural gas production, petroleum refining and fuel marketing. Its integrated business model provides diversified earnings streams, helping offset volatility in commodity prices while generating stable cash flows across market cycles. The company's momentum is also reflected in analysts' improving earnings expectations. Over the past 60 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for SU's earnings per share has increased 10.47% for 2026 and 10.73% for 2027, indicating growing confidence in its outlook. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Can Suncor continue to outperform after such an impressive rally, or has the stock already priced in its strengths? Let's examine the key factors driving the company's investment case and determine whether the stock still offers upside for investors. What's Fueling Suncor's Strong Performance?Consistent Production Growth: Suncor has demonstrated that it can expand production through operational improvements rather than relying on expensive acquisitions or major greenfield developments. During the first quarter of 2026, the company delivered its highest first-quarter upstream production on record despite temporary third-party disruptions, highlighting stronger reliability, better asset utilization and continuous operational improvements across its oil sands portfolio. Integrated Business Model: SU's fully integrated business model spans upstream production, upgrading, refining, transportation, trading and retail marketing, allowing it to capture value throughout the energy value chain. This diversified structure helps reduce earnings volatility, improves margin capture during changing market conditions and provides greater financial stability than companies that depend on only one segment of the energy business. Leading Downstream Business: Suncor operates one of the strongest downstream businesses in North America with 511,000 barrels per day of refining capacity, approximately 1,730 Petro-Canada retail locations and export capabilities reaching 45 countries. Management highlighted industry-leading refinery utilization and strong commercial capabilities that continue to enhance profitability and generate resilient earnings across varying commodity price environments. Operational Excellence: Suncor continues to improve operational reliability through higher upgrader utilization, stronger turnaround performance, improved mine productivity and greater regional integration across its oil sands assets. The investor presentation highlights sustained utilization above 95% and record operating performance, while management believes ongoing efficiency improvements will continue supporting stronger margins, lower costs and higher long-term cash generation. Visible Growth Pipeline: Suncor plans to increase upstream production by approximately 100,000 barrels per day by 2028 using existing resource areas located near current operations. Management intends to deploy standardized project designs and leverage existing infrastructure to lower development costs, reduce execution risk and improve project economics compared with traditional large-scale oil sands developments. Strong Financial Position: Suncor maintains a solid financial foundation supported by investment-grade credit ratings, approximately C$9 billion of available liquidity and conservative leverage metrics. Management explained that the temporary working capital increase reflected stronger commodity prices rather than financial weakness, reinforcing the company's ability to support growth investments while continuing substantial shareholder distributions. Disciplined Capital Allocation: SU follows a disciplined capital allocation framework that prioritizes maintaining a strong balance sheet, investing in existing operations, paying reliable dividends, repurchasing shares and funding high-return growth projects. Management also clarified that the recent increase in share buybacks reflects confidence in the long-term business plan rather than a temporary response to favorable commodity prices. Strong Execution Track Record: Management noted that Suncor met the previous Investor Day goals ahead of schedule by boosting upstream production, increasing downstream throughput, lowering its corporate breakeven and growing free funds flow. This strong execution reflects the company's operational strength and supports confidence in its long-term growth plans. Suncor Stock: The Final VerdictSuncor is well positioned for sustained long-term growth, supported by consistent production expansion, ongoing operational improvements and a fully integrated business model that delivers resilient earnings across commodity cycles. The company's leading downstream operations, visible low-risk growth pipeline, disciplined capital allocation strategy and strong financial position provide a solid foundation for continued value creation and attractive shareholder returns. Backed by management's proven execution record and continued focus on enhancing efficiency, lowering costs and increasing cash generation, Suncor is well equipped to capitalize on growth opportunities. This Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stock represents an attractive choice for investors seeking exposure to the oil and gas sector, given its strong competitive positioning, expanding international business and improving earnings outlook. What Does Rocket Lab's $8 Billion Iridium Acquisition Signal for the New Space Stock Era? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Rocket Lab (RKLB 4.41%) is the second-most-used space launch company in the United States, trailing only Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX 3.85%), or SpaceX. Beyond launch services, Rocket Lab is building a business spanning diverse segments of the budding space economy, making it a top pure-play space stock for investors. The company made headlines last month when it announced its plans to acquire Iridium Communications. The move builds on Rocket Lab's space systems business and gives it ownership of Iridium's satellite constellation. Here's why the acquisition could be a game changer for Rocket Lab today. Image source: Getty Images. Rocket Lab's $8 billion acquisition of Iridium adds satellites to its growing space business On June 29, Rocket Lab announced an agreement to acquire Iridium for roughly $8 billion in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $54 per share. The acquisition helps Rocket Lab achieve a few goals. For one, the company further expands its vertically integrated business and couples its launch vehicles and satellite manufacturing with an active constellation. Rocket Lab gains access to Iridium's 66 low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites, giving it an orbital network and bypassing the need to build one from scratch. Iridium's L-band spectrum, which penetrates clouds, foliage, and severe weather, enables devices to stay connected globally without needing large directional dishes. Finally, the move helps Rocket Lab compete with SpaceX's Starlink business, which has been a big moneymaker for SpaceX so far. Iridium's business boasts 2.5 million paid subscribers and $871.7 million in revenue in 2025, at a 57% operational EBITDA margin. Today's Change ( -4.41 %) $ -3.57 Current Price $ 77.47 Rocket Lab's end-to-end space vision is becoming a reality The move marks another major deal for Rocket Lab as it evolves from a small-launch provider into a vertically integrated end-to-end space company. Unlike traditional aerospace contractors that depend on third-party suppliers, Rocket Lab designs and manufactures many of the critical systems needed to accomplish space missions. Its wide-ranging space systems business encompasses propulsion systems, carbon-composite structures, avionics, flight software, reaction wheels, star trackers, solar power systems, separation mechanisms, radios, satellite buses, and launch vehicles. The Iridium deal is just one of many moves Rocket Lab has made in recent years to build up its end-to-end space business. Earlier this year, it announced an agreement to acquire Motiv Space Systems, gaining control of advanced in-space robotics and motion control systems. It also closed on its acquisition of Mynaric AG earlier this year, which specializes in laser optical communication terminals. Rocket Lab has carved out a niche in the small-launch market, and will expand its capabilities with its medium-lift Neutron rocket, which it hopes to launch later this year. In addition, it has done a stellar job building out its space systems business, and its Iridium acquisition signals a new era in which space companies become more vertically integrated space powerhouses to better compete with SpaceX as spending in the space economy picks up. Rocket Lab stock is highly volatile as it continues to expand, and isn't for conservative investors looking to preserve capital or generate steady income. However, if you have a long-term outlook and can stomach volatility, Rocket Lab is an excellent pure-play space stock to buy right now. |

CrowdStrike (CRWD) is Attracting Investor Attention: Here is What You Should Know | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
CrowdStrike Holdings (CRWD - Free Report) has been one of the most searched-for stocks on Zacks.com lately. So, you might want to look at some of the facts that could shape the stock's performance in the near term.Shares of this cloud-based security company have returned +9.7% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +4.3% change. The Zacks Security industry, to which CrowdStrike belongs, has gained 18.5% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term? Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision. Earnings Estimate RevisionsRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings. Our analysis is essentially based on how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to take the latest business trends into account. When earnings estimates for a company go up, the fair value for its stock goes up as well. And when a stock's fair value is higher than its current market price, investors tend to buy the stock, resulting in its price moving upward. Because of this, empirical studies indicate a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and short-term stock price movements. CrowdStrike is expected to post earnings of $0.29 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +26.1%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed -2.3%. For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $1.23 points to a change of +32.3% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed +1.9%. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $1.57 indicates a change of +27% from what CrowdStrike is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +0.2%. Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, CrowdStrike is rated Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate: 12 Month EPS Revenue Growth ForecastWhile earnings growth is arguably the most superior indicator of a company's financial health, nothing happens as such if a business isn't able to grow its revenues. After all, it's nearly impossible for a company to increase its earnings for an extended period without increasing its revenues. So, it's important to know a company's potential revenue growth. In the case of CrowdStrike, the consensus sales estimate of $1.44 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +23.2%. The $5.94 billion and $7.23 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +23.5% and +21.6%, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryCrowdStrike reported revenues of $1.39 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +25.6%. EPS of $0.28 for the same period compares with $0.18 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.36 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +1.7%. The EPS surprise was +2.8%. CrowdStrike is graded F on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about CrowdStrike. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term. |

After a Stock Split, Is Now the Right Time to Buy CrowdStrike Stock? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
While stock splits don't change a company's fundamentals, they can make shares more attractive to retail investors. With an accompanying lower stock price, splits can make it easier for investors to buy shares. They also tend to create some excitement. In fact, ahead of its 4-for-1 split on July 2, CrowdStrike (CRWD +0.39%) shares rose six straight trading sessions, and rose in the session after its split as well. The question, though, is: Now that CrowdStrike has split its stock, does it look like a buy? Today's Change ( 0.39 %) $ 0.74 Current Price $ 187.92 A market leader with strong momentum When it comes to endpoint cybersecurity, CrowdStrike is widely considered the preeminent player in the space. Organizations use its Falcon platform to help protect their networks and their endpoints, such as smartphones and computers, from cyberattacks. For 2026, Gartner ranked it as the leader in endpoint security for the seventh straight year, with it being the top company in both its ability to execute and completeness of vision. The company has been benefiting from the trend in cybersecurity of organizations looking to consolidate with one vendor to improve overall effectiveness and lower costs. As a result, its next-generation cybersecurity modules, such as Cloud Security, Identity Security, and Next-Gen SIEM (security information and event management), have been seeing strong traction. AI detection and response (AIDR) is also an emerging area of growth, with its annual recurring revenue (ARR) last quarter skyrocketing 250% sequentially and it having a pipeline of over $50 million. One of the key parts of CrowdStrike's strategy has been the introduction of its Falcon Flex licensing model, which lets customers access its entire cybersecurity portfolio while only paying for the modules they use. This has helped increase module deployment while also giving it an ARR lift. The model has been a hit with customers, who have been expanding and re-Flexing into higher usage plans. Last quarter, the company said that the average Falcon Flex customer had more than $1 million ARR, and that it saw a 26% uplift when customers re-Flex. Image source: The Motley Fool. A high valuation While CrowdStrike is a clear market leader with strong momentum, the one big knock on the stock is its valuation. The stock trades at a whopping forward price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 32 and a forward P/E of over 150 based on analysts' estimates for its fiscal 2027 (ending January 2027). That's very expensive for a company that is growing its revenue in the low- to mid-20% range. While I like CrowdStrike the company, the cybersecurity stock's valuation is just too rich for my blood. |

Why Did Nio Stock Jump Today? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Electric vehicle (EV) maker Nio (NIO +2.93%) has been increasing vehicle sales and approaching profitability. Now, a Wall Street upgrade has the stock surging today.Analysts at Goldman Sachs upgraded Nio to a "buy" from "hold" and set a price target of $7. At 11:25 a.m. ET, Nio's American depositary shares traded at $4.96 per share, up 3.7%. Goldman's target price is 46% higher than where Nio stock closed on Friday. Image source: The Motley Fool. Anticipating a profitable 2027 Nio has reported strong EV sales so far this year, despite strong competition in both China and Europe. The latest design for its flagship ES8 luxury electric SUV has been well-received, and its ES9 set a new initial 30-day delivery record among luxury EVs sold in China at its premium price level above about $73,000. That has led analysts to predict strongly growing revenue and its first full-year positive operating profit in 2027. Today, the stock jumped after Barron's reported Goldman's recommendation and price target. Today's Change ( 2.93 %) $ 0.14 Current Price $ 4.92 Nio was off to a good start in Q1 with just a $48 million net loss. If the company reports a break-even profit this year, it will represent a meaningful improvement from 2025, and investors may begin to jump into the stock. That likely explains Goldman's optimistic price prediction for Nio stock. Investors should remain cautious, though, as the market is crowded, and volatility will most certainly persist as Nio works toward sustained profitability. Howard Smith has positions in Nio. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends Goldman Sachs Group. The Motley Fool has a disclosure policy. |

Down 19.2% in 4 Weeks, Here's Why Plug Power (PLUG) Looks Ripe for a Turnaround | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Plug Power (PLUG - Free Report) has been beaten down lately with too much selling pressure. While the stock has lost 19.2% over the past four weeks, there is light at the end of the tunnel as it is now in oversold territory and Wall Street analysts expect the company to report better earnings than they predicted earlier. We use Relative Strength Index (RSI), one of the most commonly used technical indicators, for spotting whether a stock is oversold. This is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and change of price movements. RSI oscillates between zero and 100. Usually, a stock is considered oversold when its RSI reading falls below 30. Technically, every stock oscillates between being overbought and oversold irrespective of the quality of their fundamentals. And the beauty of RSI is that it helps you quickly and easily check if a stock's price is reaching a point of reversal. So, by this measure, if a stock has gotten too far below its fair value just because of unwarranted selling pressure, investors may start looking for entry opportunities in the stock for benefiting from the inevitable rebound. However, like every investing tool, RSI has its limitations, and should not be used alone for making an investment decision. Why PLUG Could Bounce Back Before LongThe RSI reading of 26.35 for PLUG is an indication that the heavy selling could be in the process of exhausting itself, so the stock could bounce back in a quest for reaching the old equilibrium of supply and demand. This technical indicator is not the only factor that calls for a potential rebound for the stock. There is a fundamental indicator as well. A strong agreement among sell-side analysts covering PLUG in raising earnings estimates for the current year has led to an increase in the consensus EPS estimate by 6.1% over the last 30 days. And an upward trend in earnings estimate revisions usually translates into price appreciation in the near term. Moreover, PLUG currently has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), which means it is in the top 20% of more than 4,000 stocks that we rank based on trends in earnings estimate revisions and EPS surprises. This is a more conclusive indication of the stock's potential turnaround in the near term. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> . |

Is Coupang (CPNG) a Buy as Wall Street Analysts Look Optimistic? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
When deciding whether to buy, sell, or hold a stock, investors often rely on analyst recommendations. Media reports about rating changes by these brokerage-firm-employed (or sell-side) analysts often influence a stock's price, but are they really important?Let's take a look at what these Wall Street heavyweights have to say about Coupang, Inc. (CPNG - Free Report) before we discuss the reliability of brokerage recommendations and how to use them to your advantage. Coupang currently has an average brokerage recommendation (ABR) of 1.97, on a scale of 1 to 5 (Strong Buy to Strong Sell), calculated based on the actual recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell, etc.) made by 15 brokerage firms. An ABR of 1.97 approximates between Strong Buy and Buy. Of the 15 recommendations that derive the current ABR, eight are Strong Buy and one is Buy. Strong Buy and Buy respectively account for 53.3% and 6.7% of all recommendations. Brokerage Recommendation Trends for CPNG Check price target & stock forecast for Coupang here>>> The ABR suggests buying Coupang, but making an investment decision solely on the basis of this information might not be a good idea. According to several studies, brokerage recommendations have little to no success guiding investors to choose stocks with the most potential for price appreciation. Are you wondering why? The vested interest of brokerage firms in a stock they cover often results in a strong positive bias of their analysts in rating it. Our research shows that for every "Strong Sell" recommendation, brokerage firms assign five "Strong Buy" recommendations. In other words, their interests aren't always aligned with retail investors, rarely indicating where the price of a stock could actually be heading. Therefore, the best use of this information could be validating your own research or an indicator that has proven to be highly successful in predicting a stock's price movement. With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, which classifies stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), is a reliable indicator of a stock's near-term price performance. So, validating the Zacks Rank with ABR could go a long way in making a profitable investment decision. Zacks Rank Should Not Be Confused With ABRIn spite of the fact that Zacks Rank and ABR both appear on a scale from 1 to 5, they are two completely different measures. The ABR is calculated solely based on brokerage recommendations and is typically displayed with decimals (example: 1.28). In contrast, the Zacks Rank is a quantitative model allowing investors to harness the power of earnings estimate revisions. It is displayed in whole numbers -- 1 to 5. It has been and continues to be the case that analysts employed by brokerage firms are overly optimistic with their recommendations. Because of their employers' vested interests, these analysts issue more favorable ratings than their research would support, misguiding investors far more often than helping them. In contrast, the Zacks Rank is driven by earnings estimate revisions. And near-term stock price movements are strongly correlated with trends in earnings estimate revisions, according to empirical research. In addition, the different Zacks Rank grades are applied proportionately to all stocks for which brokerage analysts provide current-year earnings estimates. In other words, this tool always maintains a balance among its five ranks. Another key difference between the ABR and Zacks Rank is freshness. The ABR is not necessarily up-to-date when you look at it. But, since brokerage analysts keep revising their earnings estimates to account for a company's changing business trends, and their actions get reflected in the Zacks Rank quickly enough, it is always timely in indicating future price movements. Is CPNG a Good Investment? In terms of earnings estimate revisions for Coupang, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year has declined 94.1% over the past month to -$0.33. Analysts' growing pessimism over the company's earnings prospects, as indicated by strong agreement among them in revising EPS estimates lower, could be a legitimate reason for the stock to plunge in the near term. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) for Coupang. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> Therefore, it could be wise to take the Buy-equivalent ABR for Coupang with a grain of salt. |

Here's Why Align Technology (ALGN) is a Strong Value Stock | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both. The research service features daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, all of which will help you become a smarter, more confident investor. Based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics, each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F. The better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform; an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on. Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time. It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. This totals more than 800 top-rated stocks, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick the best stocks for you and your portfolio. That's where the Style Scores come in. Stock to Watch: Align Technology (ALGN - Free Report) Align Technology, based in California, manufactures and markets a system of clear aligner therapy, intra-oral scanners and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) digital services used in dentistry, orthodontics, and dental records storage. The clear aligner system corrects malocclusion using nearly invisible and removable appliances that gently move the tooth to a desired final position. ALGN is a #2 (Buy) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of B. It also boasts a Value Style Score of B thanks to attractive valuation metrics like a forward P/E ratio of 15.8; value investors should take notice. One analyst revised their earnings estimate higher in the last 60 days for fiscal 2026, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.01 to $11.36 per share. ALGN also boasts an average earnings surprise of +7.8%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Value and VGM Style Scores, ALGN should be on investors' short list. |

An ABR of 1.33 approximates between Strong Buy and Buy. Of the 20 recommendations that derive the current ABR, 15 are Strong Buy and three are Buy. Strong Buy and Buy respectively account for 75% and 15% of all recommendations. Brokerage Recommendation Trends for RIOT Check price target & stock forecast for Riot Platforms, Inc. here>>> While the ABR calls for buying Riot Platforms, Inc., it may not be wise to make an investment decision solely based on this information. Several studies have shown limited to no success of brokerage recommendations in guiding investors to pick stocks with the best price increase potential. Are you wondering why? Top China Tech Plays Worth Adding to Your Portfolio in 2H26 | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Image: BigstockRead MoreHide Full Article China's technology landscape in the United States enters the second half of 2026 on a cautiously constructive footing, anchored by steady U.S.-China trade progress. President Trump's May 14-15 Beijing summit with President Xi Jinping produced a framework establishing the U.S.-China Board of Trade and Board of Investment, with China committing at least $17 billion in annual U.S. agricultural purchases through 2028 and 200 Boeing aircraft, while Washington guaranteed jet-engine supply. Through June, USTR Ambassador Greer confirmed the Board of Trade would focus on non-sensitive goods, while China renewed registration for more than 400 U.S. beef facilities. By July, momentum continued, though Commerce tightened Blackwell-chip licensing in late May and issued a June 1 clarification closing overseas-subsidiary loopholes, underscoring that technology controls remain a parallel, unresolved track even as broader trade ties stabilize. This bilateral momentum is likely to present compelling portfolio opportunities for companies, including GDS Holdings (GDS - Free Report) , NetEase (NTES - Free Report) , Kingsoft Cloud (KC - Free Report) and Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM - Free Report) . Progress Across Strategic TechnologiesIn semiconductors, Washington's late-May guidance restricted Nvidia's Blackwell exports, tightened further by a June 1 clarification extending controls to Chinese-headquartered entities abroad. Nvidia's China AI-chip share narrowed sharply, while domestic alternatives scaled: Huawei's Ascend 950PR targets roughly 750,000 units, and Cambricon plans 500,000 accelerators in 2026. China's LineShine supercomputer topped the TOP500 list in June, and SMIC continued mature-node expansion. The second half of 2026 likely brings continued self-sufficiency gains alongside possible case-by-case licensing under the Board of Trade. In electric vehicles, BYD's export-led recovery extended into June, delivering 403,472 NEVs (up 5.5% year over year) with a record 175,349 overseas units, though H1 domestic sales fell nearly 16%. Leapmotor, Nio, Xpeng and Zeekr posted 2026-best months, while Geely's exports topped 100,000 units for the first time, reflecting an industry-wide pivot toward overseas markets. The second half of 2026 should see exports remain the primary growth lever as automakers lean further into overseas markets amid persistent domestic price competition. In artificial intelligence, DeepSeek's reasoning models retained competitive cost-performance standing globally, while Chinese AI enterprises surpassed 6,000. Shenzhen deployed DeepSeek-powered "digital employees" for municipal functions, and bilateral AI-safety guardrail discussions launched at the May summit continued informally through July. The second half of 2026 may bring formalized bilateral AI-safety guardrails alongside continued open-source model releases. In humanoid robots, Unitree cleared Shanghai's STAR Market listing review on June 1, targeting a roughly $7 billion valuation and 20,000-unit shipments in 2026; Nvidia selected Unitree's H2 for a research robotics platform. Beijing mandated 10,000 working humanoid deployments by year-end, with Unitree and AgiBot commanding nearly 80% domestic share amid 94% projected output growth. The second half of 2026 should see accelerated shipments toward Beijing's 10,000-unit deployment mandate and potential Unitree IPO completion. In aerospace, COMAC's C919 program advanced unevenly—35 units delivered since 2022, with airlines projecting 33 for 2026, though a first-quarter slowdown reflected engine-supply and certification friction with EASA. The May summit's Boeing commitment and U.S. engine-supply guarantee offered a stabilizing counterweight, aiding indigenous CJ-1000A engine testing. The second half of 2026 likely brings incremental delivery recovery, continued CJ-1000A testing and progress on EASA certification talks. In defense, China's budget reached approximately $277 billion, funding hypersonic and drone programs. The second half of 2026 should sustain steady capability investment absent major bilateral security breakthroughs. In medical devices, the domestic market approached $172.9 billion with rising domestic substitution. The second half of 2026 may bring further import-replacement policy support and expanded manufacturer approvals. In high-tech maritime and rail equipment, the CR450 high-speed train advanced toward 2026 commercial operations at 400 km/h. The second half of 2026 should mark commercial rollout milestones and continued shipbuilding capacity expansion. In new synthetic materials, aerospace composites and battery-grade materials retained state-backed investment; the second half of 2026 likely sees further localization of high-performance material supply chains. In advanced electrical equipment, energy storage installations surpassed 100 gigawatts; the second half of 2026 should extend grid-technology leadership as installations continue scaling globally. Taken together, these May-to-July developments across trade, semiconductors, EVs, AI, robotics, aerospace and advanced manufacturing point to a China tech landscape in the United States entering the second half of 2026 with improving stability, selective friction and meaningful room for continued recalibration. Chinese technology companies present compelling opportunities for investors navigating geopolitical volatility through late 2026's trade framework. SLB N.V. Eni North Ganal Limited is a subsidiary of Searah Limited, which is a 50/50 joint venture between Eni S.p.A. (E - Free Report) and PETRONAS that focuses on developing upstream oil and gas assets in Southeast Asia.Under the agreement, OneSubsea will engineer, procure and manufacture 94.6 kilometers of steel-tube umbilicals for water depths of up to 2,200 meters. The steel-tube umbilical system, weighing approximately 6,700 tons, ranks among the largest umbilical contracts awarded in the subsea industry and reinforces SLB's leadership in complex offshore developments. The project showcases SLB's advanced manufacturing capabilities by combining its Oscilay and planetary production lines, enabling parallel production that shortens delivery timelines while improving manufacturing efficiency. The contract also includes production of a 30-kilometer continuous umbilical, weighing roughly 2,100 tons, designed to withstand pressures of 10,000 psi, highlighting SLB's technical expertise in demanding deepwater environments. The award strengthens SLB's subsea order backlog while reinforcing its long-term partnership with E. As global energy companies continue investing in offshore natural gas developments to meet rising energy demand, advanced subsea infrastructure remains critical. SLB's technical expertise, manufacturing scale and execution capabilities position the company to capture additional deepwater opportunities, supporting higher cash flow generation. This contract is expected to strengthen SLB's business model and boost investor appeal in the coming years. Cintas Gears Up to Report Q4 Earnings: Here's What to Expect | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Cintas is expected to report fiscal Q4 revenues of $2.88 billion, up 7.8% year over year. CTAS may benefit from customer retention, AED Rentals demand and gains from recent acquisitions. Cintas faces margin pressure from higher SG&A costs and potential foreign exchange headwinds. Cintas Corporation (CTAS - Free Report) is scheduled to release fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 (ended May 2026) results on July 15, before market open. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for CTAS’ fiscal fourth-quarter revenues is pegged at $2.88 billion, indicating growth of 7.8% from the prior-year quarter’s figure. The consensus mark for earnings is pinned at $1.24 per share, which has been stable in the past 60 days. The figure indicates growth of 13.8% from the year-ago quarter's figure. The company has a stellar earnings surprise history, having outperformed the consensus estimate in each of the preceding four quarters, the average beat being 1.3%. In the last reported quarter, its earnings of $1.24 per share beat the consensus estimate of $1.23 by 0.8%. Let’s see how things have shaped up before Cintas’ fiscal fourth-quarter earnings release. Factors to Note Ahead of CTAS’ ResultsStrong customer retention and penetration of additional products and services into existing customers are expected to have driven the Uniform Rental and Facility Services segment’s performance in the fiscal fourth quarter. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the segment’s revenues is pegged at $2.17 billion, indicating a 7% jump from the year-ago reported number. Solid demand for the company’s AED Rentals is likely to have supported the performance of the First Aid and Safety Services segment. Also, strong customer retention levels and an improved sales mix are likely to have boded well for the segment. The consensus mark for the segment’s revenues is pegged at $358 million, which implies a 10.5% increase from the year-ago reported figure. Also, synergistic gains from the acquisitions of Paris Uniform Services (March 2024) and SITEX (February 2024) are expected to have boosted Cintas’ top line in the to-be-reported quarter. While the Paris Uniform Services buyout has strengthened CTAS’ market presence in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and West Virginia, the SITEX acquisition has enhanced its footprint in the U.S. central Midwest region. However, the escalating selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses pose a threat to CTAS’ bottom line. Increase in employee-partner related expensesare expected to have pushed up the SG&A expenses, which are likely to have impacted the company’s margins in the fiscal fourth quarter. Given Cintas’ extensive geographic presence, its operations are subject to global political risks and foreign exchange headwinds. A stronger U.S. dollar is likely to have hurt CTAS’ overseas business in the quarter. Earnings WhispersOur proven model predicts an earnings beat for CTAS this time around. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat, which is the case here, as elaborated below. T. Rowe Price (TROW) is a Top-Ranked Momentum Stock: Should You Buy? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both.Featuring daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, the research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor. It also includes access to the Zacks Style Scores. Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform. Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier. Stock to Watch: T. Rowe Price (TROW - Free Report) Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Baltimore, T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. is a global investment management organization with $1.71 trillion in asset under management (AUM) as of March 31, 2026. It provides a broad array of mutual funds, sub-advisory services and separate account management for individual and institutional investors, retirement plans and financial intermediaries. TROW is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of B. Momentum investors should take note of this Finance stock. TROW has a Momentum Style Score of A, and shares are up 8.1% over the past four weeks. Four analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days for fiscal 2026. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.28 to $9.89 per share. TROW boasts an average earnings surprise of +4.9%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Momentum and VGM Style Scores, TROW should be on investors' short list. |

Securities Class Action Lawsuit: What is the Lucid Group securities fraud lawsuit about? The Lucid Group securities fraud lawsuit is a federal securities class action alleging that Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) and its executives made false and misleading statements to investors by concealing that a supplier quality issue had significantly disrupted deliveries of the Lucid Gravity SUV and overstating the Company's manufacturing and delivery capabilities. As the truth emerged through a series of disclosures - including an April 3, 2026 announcement that only 3,093 vehicles were delivered in Q1 2026 due to a 29-day delivery disruption caused by a supplier seat defect, an April 14, 2026 filing revealing Q1 revenue of just $280-$284 million against a consensus estimate of $433.8 million and a $1.05 billion capital raise, and a May 5, 2026 earnings report showing a net loss of over $1 billion and GAAP EPS of -$3.46 - LCID's stock price fell sharply across multiple trading sessions, causing significant losses for investors. LCID Shareholder Alert: Lucid Group, Inc. Securities Class Action Lawsuit - Investors Should Contact Levi & Korsinsky | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The electric vehicle sector attracted enormous investor capital in 2025 and 2026, with manufacturers racing to scale production of new SUV platforms. Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) told investors it had built a "repeatable and stable operating cadence" heading into 2026, but a concealed supplier quality crisis had already derailed Gravity SUV deliveries for nearly a month, the lawsuit contends.NEW YORK, July 13, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levi & Korsinsky, LLP notifies investors in Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) that a class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of shareholders who purchased securities between February 25, 2026 and April 13, 2026. Find out if you qualify to recover losses. You may also contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500. Lucid delivered only 3,093 vehicles in Q1 2026 versus analyst expectations of 5,237, a shortfall of over 40%. Revenue came in between $280 million and $284 million, missing the $433.8 million consensus by approximately $150 million. How the Alleged Supplier Crisis Undermined Reported Capabilities The lawsuit contends that an unauthorized supplier change for second-row seats in the Lucid Gravity produced seatbelt anchor welds that did not meet safety standards. This forced a 29-day delivery disruption and a recall of 4,476 vehicles. Lucid paused deliveries to reverse the supplier change and inspect vehicles already produced, with February 2026 particularly impacted. Yet on February 24, 2026, management publicly declared quality problems "overcome" and touted a production run rate supporting up to 7,500 vehicles per quarter. The Alleged "Comprehensive Qualification Process" That Failed Lucid's 2025 Form 10-K, filed during the Class Period, assured investors the Company used "a comprehensive qualification process to assess technical capability, quality, cost" for its thousands of parts and suppliers. The complaint alleges this representation was materially misleading because, at the time it was made, a supplier had already made an unauthorized change to a safety-critical component. Key Supplier Quality Allegations for Shareholders An unauthorized supplier change to second-row seat components allegedly went undetected until vehicles were already in productionSeatbelt anchor welds did not meet safety standards, triggering a recall of 4,476 Lucid Gravity SUVs built between December 2024 and February 2026Gravity deliveries were halted for 29 consecutive days during Q1 2026February 2026 deliveries were "particularly hit" while management simultaneously told investors quality problems had been "overcome"The production-to-delivery gap widened dramatically: 5,500 produced versus only 3,093 deliveredDays on hand inventory stood at 108 in December 2025, suggesting vehicles were already accumulating before the disruption became public The Lapping Comps Problem Investors Were Not Told About Lucid had reported eight consecutive quarters of record deliveries heading into 2026. The complaint alleges management leveraged this momentum narrative to maintain investor confidence while concealing that the supplier crisis had already broken the streak. The Company's 2025 annual report described "strong relationships with suppliers and partners to deliver the . . . Lucid Gravity[.]" at a time when, the lawsuit contends, those very supplier relationships had produced a safety defect requiring a federal recall. "This case presents important questions about supplier quality disclosure obligations in the electric vehicle sector. When a manufacturer tells investors it has overcome production quality issues while a safety-critical supplier defect is actively disrupting deliveries, shareholders deserve to know," stated Joseph E. Levi, Esq. Submit your information to join this case or contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500. On Friday April 3, 2026, at the close of the market, Lucid issued in a press release stating that the Company "produced 5,500 vehicles" during the first quarter of 2026, while only "deliver[ing] 3,093 vehicles." The press release further stated that "[d]uring the quarter, deliveries of the Lucid Gravity were disrupted for 29 days due to a supplier quality issue with the second-row seats" and, "[a]s result of this, the [C]ompany's ability to meet customer demand was impacted." That same day, Reuters published an article entitled "Lucid misses first-quarter vehicle delivery estimates on supplier disruptions." According to the article Chief Executive Officer Marc Winterhoff, said "[d]eliveries were particularly hit in February" when the Company "paused to reverse the change and inspect vehicles already produced." In the first two trading sessions following the news, the price of Lucid shares declined by $1.13 per share, or 11.35%, to close at $8.83 per share on April 7, 2026. Then, on April 14, 2026, Lucid announced preliminary first quarter 2026 financial results, including revenue in the range of $280 million to $284 million, well below the consensus estimate of $433.8 million according to the complaint, and loss from operations in the range of $985 million to $1.005 billion. Following this news, the price of Lucid stock fell $0.44 per share, or 4.76%, to close at $8.80 per share on April 14, 2026. The complaint alleges, among other things, that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) a supplier quality issue had significantly disrupted deliveries of the Lucid Gravity; (ii) the foregoing was likely to, and did, have a material negative impact on the Company's business and financial results; (iii) accordingly, the Defendants had overstated the purported enhancements to Lucid's manufacturing and delivery capabilities and overall operations; and (iv) as a result, Defendants' public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. DraftKings Inc. (DKNG) Is a Trending Stock: Facts to Know Before Betting on It | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
DraftKings (DKNG - Free Report) is one of the stocks most watched by Zacks.com visitors lately. So, it might be a good idea to review some of the factors that might affect the near-term performance of the stock.Shares of this company have returned -8.7% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +4.3% change. The Zacks Gaming industry, to which DraftKings belongs, has gained 5.1% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term? While media releases or rumors about a substantial change in a company's business prospects usually make its stock 'trending' and lead to an immediate price change, there are always some fundamental facts that eventually dominate the buy-and-hold decision-making. DraftKings is expected to post earnings of $0.34 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of -10.5%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged. For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $1.15 points to a change of +74.2% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed -1.3%. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $1.78 indicates a change of +55.4% from what DraftKings is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has remained unchanged. Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, DraftKings is rated Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate: 12 Month EPS Revenue Growth ForecastEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial. In the case of DraftKings, the consensus sales estimate of $1.57 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +3.9%. The $6.8 billion and $7.77 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +12.4% and +14.2%, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryDraftKings reported revenues of $1.65 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +16.8%. EPS of $0.2 for the same period compares with $0.12 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.64 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +0.12%. The EPS surprise was -9.09%. Over the last four quarters, DraftKings surpassed consensus EPS estimates times. The company topped consensus revenue estimates two times over this period. ValuationNo investment decision can be efficient without considering a stock's valuation. Whether a stock's current price rightly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects is an essential determinant of its future price performance. As part of the Zacks Style Scores system, the Zacks Value Style Score (which evaluates both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics) organizes stocks into five groups ranging from A to F (A is better than B; B is better than C; and so on), making it helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued. DraftKings is graded C on this front, indicating that it is trading at par with its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about DraftKings. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term. |

FuelCell Energy Brings Power Closer to Where It's Needed | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways FuelCell Energy supplies round-the-clock on-site power for data centers, factories and commercial buildings. Its systems use chemical reactions, run on multiple fuels and produce both electricity and usable heat.Modular units and expanded manufacturing support larger projects and demand for reliable local power. FuelCell Energy (FCEL - Free Report) helps customers produce electricity directly at the place where it will be used, rather than depending entirely on power supplied from distant generating stations. Its fuel cell systems can provide steady, round-the-clock electricity to data centers, factories, utilities and commercial buildings. This on-site approach can help customers reduce their reliance on crowded transmission networks, avoid some grid-connection delays and maintain a more dependable power supply for operations that cannot afford lengthy outages.FuelCell Energy’s systems generate electricity through a chemical reaction instead of burning fuel in the way conventional generators do. They can operate using natural gas, biogas or blends containing hydrogen while releasing very small amounts of common air pollutants. The systems can work alongside the main electricity grid or operate independently when grid power is disrupted. They also produce useful heat, which customers can reuse for heating, steam generation or cooling. This allows facilities to obtain both electricity and usable heat from the same fuel, improving overall energy efficiency. FuelCell Energy sees growing interest in its power-generation systems, particularly from AI data centers that consume large amounts of electricity and must remain operational around the clock. The company offers modular units that can be installed in stages, allowing customers to begin with a certain level of power and add more blocks as their needs increase. FuelCell Energy is also expanding its manufacturing capacity and working with partners and customers on larger on-site projects. Rising demand for reliable, locally generated and lower-emission electricity could therefore support the long-term growth of this business. FuelCell Energy is one of several companies seeking to meet the rising electricity needs of data centers. The rapid growth of AI is increasing pressure on utility grids, which may not always be able to provide new power connections quickly. Energy companies are therefore offering different types of on-site and backup power solutions. While their technologies vary, each aims to give data-center operators a reliable electricity supply that can support future expansion. Different Approaches to Data-Center Power DemandBloom Energy (BE - Free Report) could benefit as AI and data centers create stronger demand for dependable on-site power. Bloom Energy supplies fuel cell systems that generate electricity where it is used, helping customers avoid grid delays and connection bottlenecks. Bloom Energy has also pointed to healthy commercial interest and a growing pipeline of projects, suggesting that demand for distributed power solutions may remain strong as data-center electricity needs continue to rise. Enphase Energy (ENPH - Free Report) is not directly focused on data centers, but it may still benefit as businesses seek more reliable and flexible power systems. Enphase Energy offers commercial microinverters designed for three-phase electrical setups commonly used in larger facilities. Enphase Energy also provides battery storage and energy-management tools that can support backup power, control electricity use and allow customers to expand their energy systems as their needs grow. The Zacks Rundown on FCELShares of FuelCell Energy have surged more than 180% over the past six months, breezing past the industry's growth. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research FCEL currently has an average brokerage recommendation (ABR) of 2.78 on a scale of 1 to 5 (Strong Buy to Strong Sell), calculated based on the actual recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell, etc.) made by nine brokerage firms. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The chart below shows FCEL’s earnings over the past four quarters. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). Can AI Chip Boom Help LRCX Reach Record Q4 Sales Target of $6.6B? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Lam Research targets record Q4'26 revenues of $6.6B after posting $5.84B in the third quarter.AI chip demand is driving investments in advanced DRAM, HBM and leading-edge foundry technologies.LRCX's advanced packaging sales are expected to grow by over 50% in 2026 as AI processors become more complex. Lam Research Corporation (LRCX - Free Report) is slated to report its fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 results in late July, and investors must be wondering if the company will reach its record revenue target of $6.6 billion. We believe that the ongoing boom in artificial intelligence (AI) chips could help Lam Research achieve that goal. Demand for advanced semiconductor equipment continues to rise as chipmakers expand capacity for AI processors, high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and next-generation logic devices.Lam Research delivered strong momentum in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. Revenues increased 24% year over year to a record $5.84 billion, while systems revenues climbed to $3.73 billion. Non-GAAP earnings per share jumped 41% and reached a record $1.47, while non-GAAP gross margin improved 90 basis points to 49.9%, reflecting a favorable product mix and operational execution. These results provide a solid foundation for another quarter of growth. AI is becoming LRCX’s biggest growth engine. The company is benefiting from rising investments in advanced DRAM, HBM and leading-edge foundry technologies, all of which require Lam Research’s etch and deposition equipment. Management also expects advanced packaging revenues to grow more than 50% in calendar year 2026 as AI processors become more complex and require sophisticated chip integration technologies. Industry conditions remain favorable. Lam Research estimates global wafer fabrication equipment spending of approximately $140 billion in calendar year 2026, reflecting stronger AI-related investments across memory and logic markets. The company also expects industry growth to continue into 2027. If AI infrastructure spending remains robust and customers continue expanding advanced chip production, Lam Research appears well-positioned to achieve its record fourth-quarter sales target and sustain its strong growth momentum. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 revenues is currently pegged at $6.67 billion, higher than the midpoint of management’s guidance range and indicating a year-over-year increase of more than 29%. Lam Research’s Rivals Also Benefit From AI Chip DemandLRCX’s main competitors, Applied Materials, Inc. (AMAT - Free Report) and KLA Corporation (KLAC - Free Report) , are also benefiting from the AI chip boom. Both companies have broad exposure to advanced semiconductor manufacturing and are seeing strong demand from AI-related investments. Applied Materials is Lam Research’s closest rival in wafer fabrication equipment. The company generated revenues of $7.91 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, with its Semiconductor Systems segment contributing the majority of sales. Applied Materials reported record DRAM revenue and continues to benefit from growing demand for advanced logic, HBM and advanced packaging solutions used in AI servers. Its broad product portfolio positions it to capture a significant share of rising semiconductor capital spending. KLA Corporation competes through inspection and process control equipment, which are essential for manufacturing advanced AI chips. The company’s third-quarter fiscal 2026 revenues increased 11.5% year over year to $3.42 billion as it continues to benefit from increasing process complexity at leading-edge nodes. As AI processors and HBM stacks require tighter quality control and higher production yields, KLAC's inspection tools are becoming increasingly important. For Lam Research, sustaining record quarterly revenues will depend on maintaining its leadership in etch and deposition technologies while competing effectively with Applied Materials and KLA Corporation across the rapidly expanding AI semiconductor ecosystem. LRCX’s Share Price Performance, Valuation and EstimatesShares of Lam Research have surged 104.6% year to date compared with the Zacks Electronics – Semiconductors industry’s rise of 50.3%. Lam Research YTD Price Return Performance Image Source: Zacks Investment Research From a valuation standpoint, Lam Research trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 43.81, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 33.34. Lam Research Forward 12-Month P/E Ratio Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Lam Research’s fiscal 2026 and 2027 earnings implies a year-over-year increase of approximately 37.2% and 39.6%, respectively. Estimates for fiscal 2026 have been revised upward over the past 30 days, while estimates for fiscal 2027 have been raised northward over the past seven days. Intel, AMD, and Applied Materials Drop 4% as SK Hynix Rout and Oil Spike Hit Chip Stocks | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.Shares of Intel (NASDAQ:INTC | INTC Price Prediction) are down 4% to $104.97 in Monday morning trading, while Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) stock is off 4% to $533.58 and Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) shares are down 4% to $581. The selling started at the open and leveled out into mid-morning. The move caps a blistering run for the chip complex. Intel stock is up 182% year to date (YTD), AMD shares are up 147%, and Applied Materials shares have gained 126%. With the NASDAQ 100 down 1.28% on the session, the broader tech tape has weakened alongside semis, amplifying the profit-taking impulse. Memory Rout and Oil Spike Hit Chip Complex The immediate trigger came from Asia. South Korean brokerage KIS published a Q2 2026 profit estimate for SK Hynix that landed 8% below consensus, citing slow HBM4 shipments and heavy reliance on high-bandwidth memory. SK Hynix shares fell 15% on the Korean exchange, dragging Samsung and the KOSPI, which slid 9% and triggered a brief trading halt. The read-through was swift. Applied Materials, which counts SK Hynix as a key HBM and DRAM equipment customer, absorbed the biggest hit in the group. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock and Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) stock each declined 2% as memory-cycle worries rippled across the AI hardware complex. Adding to the pressure, renewed U.S.-Iran fighting over the Strait of Hormuz sent crude sharply higher. WTI crude oil is up 3.64% over the past 24 hours to $74.01 a barrel, which is a concern as rising energy costs pressure semiconductor margins and stoke broader macro risk-off flows. Sector Proxy and Equipment Names Under Pressure The iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SOXX) is down 4% to $555.93, mirroring the sector drawdown. The fund is concentrated in the exact names caught in today’s selloff, so its beta to memory and AI-hardware sentiment is elevated. It does not use leverage, but concentration risk is meaningful. July 16 is the Final Day to Tap Into the Lithium Boom (sponsor) General Motors, POSCO, and 50,000+ everyday investors have already backed lithium producer EnergyX. Here's why you should do the same before their July 16 investment deadline: lithium prices are up 75% this year, with demand projected to grow a staggering 5X by 2040. With tech that can recover up to 3X more lithium than traditional methods, EnergyX is preparing to unlock up to 15M+ tons. Become a private-stage EnergyX investor before the July 16 deadline. Lam Research (NASDAQ:LRCX) stock, another equipment maker with heavy memory exposure, is down 5% to $332.95. Lam’s South Korea revenue of $1.34 billion underscores the direct SK Hynix read-through for the picks-and-shovels equipment group. Bull and Bear Case on Intel For Intel as the primary mover, the bull case rests on an AI-driven chip cycle that has already delivered. Intel’s Q1 2026 revenue rose 7% year over year (YoY) to $13.58 billion, and the Data Center and AI segment grew 22% YoY under CEO Lip-Bu Tan. Polymarket contracts assign a 67% probability to Intel topping its next quarterly report. The bear case is what Monday is pricing in. Memory-cycle risk flagged by the SK Hynix estimate, oil-driven macro pressure, and rich valuations after Intel’s 361% one-year gain all argue for caution. Investors should consider keeping their position sizes modest given the daily volatility on names that have tripled or more from year-ago levels. What to Watch Watch for whether WTI crude oil stabilizes below $75 and whether SK Hynix finds a floor overnight in Seoul. Any further escalation around the Strait of Hormuz could keep the risk premium in oil elevated, extending pressure on the chip complex. The next catalyst is earnings. Intel’s Q2 2026 earnings report is due later this month, and Polymarket contracts on the release expire July 23. That report may reset the memory-versus-AI-compute debate for the whole group, and investors can watch it closely for margin and Data Center guidance. Meet America's Newest $1b Unicorn (Sponsor) A US startup just passed a $1 billion private valuation, joining billion-dollar private companies like OpenAI and ByteDance. Unlike those other unicorns, you can invest in EnergyX right now; but only until July 16. Over 50,000 people already have, along with global giants like General Motors and POSCO. Here's why there's so much interest: EnergyX's patented tech can recover up to 3X more lithium than traditional methods. That's a big deal, as demand for lithium is expected to 5X current production levels by 2040. Become an early-stage EnergyX shareholder before the 7/16 investment deadline. ZTS Shareholder Alert: July 27, 2026 Lead Plaintiff Deadline in Zoetis Inc. Securities Class Action - Contact Levi & Korsinsky | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
NEW YORK, July 13, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levi & Korsinsky, LLP highlights the contrast between Zoetis Inc.'s (NYSE: ZTS) promises to investors and the reality that emerged across four corrective disclosures. Shareholders who purchased ZTS securities between January 14, 2025 and May 6, 2026 and suffered losses may be entitled to compensation. Find out if you can recover your investment losses. You may also contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500.Zoetis shares fell $23.91 following the disclosure of intensified competition and slowing growth, a 21.5% single-day decline. The lead plaintiff deadline is July 27, 2026. The Promise Throughout the Class Period, Zoetis projected confidence across its Companion Animal portfolio, the lawsuit contends. The Company characterized Librela as "the best launch ever in animal health" with "significant value continuing." Management projected the dermatology total addressable market would reach $2.5 billion by 2028 at an 11% compound annual growth rate. Simparica Trio was described as "the trusted first choice for veterinarians and pet owners alike," and management claimed the franchise was gaining patient share even as competitors entered the market. The Reality By Q1 2026, every pillar of this growth narrative had fractured, the complaint alleges: Librela: Veterinarian adoption weakened sharply following the FDA's December 2024 "Dear Veterinarian" letter citing seizures, paresis, and deaths in treated dogs. Growth deteriorated significantly by Q1 2026Simparica Trio: Lost meaningful market share to Elanco's lower-priced Credelio Quattro, which offered broader tapeworm coverage Trio lackedApoquel / Cytopoint: Suffered substantial share losses to Elanco's Zenrelia, marketed as comparable or superior at a lower price pointPatient Volume: Management admitted "declining patient volume in the clinic" was amplifying share lossesPrice Sensitivity: The Company conceded that "price has played a larger role in the decision process," contradicting prior assertions of brand loyalty insulating the portfolio The Numbers: Promised vs. Actual MetricWhat Zoetis Told InvestorsWhat Actually HappenedLibrela trajectory"Most successful launch in our history"Growth deteriorated significantly; vets became cautious after FDA safety warningsSimparica Trio share"Continuing to gain share" with 40% puppy penetrationSignificant market share loss to lower-priced competitorDermatology franchise"Durable" portfolio with "minimal patient share impact" from competitionSubstantial share losses; admitted "derm market with declining patient volume"GuidanceRaised full-year guidance August 2025Sharply reduced guidance May 2026Competitive impact"Very limited impact" from new entrantsAdmitted competition "intensified across key pet care categories" Speak with an attorney about whether you qualify for recovery or call (212) 363-7500. What the Lawsuit Alleges About the Gap "Companies that make specific promises to investors about future performance have an obligation to disclose known risks to those projections. The gap between what Zoetis projected and what materialized raises serious questions about what management knew and when they knew it," stated Joseph E. Levi, Esq. The action contends that while management publicly projected durable growth, leadership knew or recklessly disregarded that safety concerns, competitive losses, and declining veterinarian confidence were already eroding the foundations of every projection they made to the investing public. LEAD PLAINTIFF DEADLINE: July 27, 2026 Act now to protect your rights in the Zoetis securities action or contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at (212) 363-7500. Ranked in ISS Top 50 for seven consecutive years. Frequently Asked Questions About the ZTS Lawsuit Q: When did Zoetis allegedly mislead investors? A: The class period runs from January 14, 2025 to May 6, 2026. During this period, the complaint alleges Zoetis made materially false or misleading statements about its Companion Animal product portfolio's competitive strength and growth sustainability. When the true state was revealed through four corrective disclosures, the stock price declined sharply. Q: How much did ZTS stock drop? A: Shares fell approximately 21.5% on the final corrective disclosure alone, a decline of $23.91 per share on May 7, 2026. Q: What do ZTS investors need to do right now? Mortgage Rates Are Heading Higher. Here's What It Means for Homebuilder Stocks. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Buying a home just got more expensive. The 30-year fixed rate mortgage ticked up to 6.49% this week, according to Freddie Mac. After peaking at around 7.8% in late 2023, the primary mortgage rate had been drifting lower in recent years, in fits and starts. It dropped just below 6% in February of this year, the first time it was below that level since 2022. Since then, the borrowing rate has been rising again. While the Federal Reserve sets very short-term interest rates, mortgage rates tend to follow the yield on the 10-year Treasury. That yield has been rising all year and jumped dramatically in July as ongoing fighting in the Persian Gulf threatens to send oil prices higher again, and inflation with them. That's bad news for both homebuyers and homebuilders, as it makes homes even less affordable. Home prices hit an all-time high last month, up 1.8% in June from a year earlier, to a median price of $440,600. As a result, the stocks of major homebuilders, including Lennar (LEN 0.70%), D.R. Horton (DHI 0.58%), PulteGroup (PHM 1.10%), and NVR (NVR 0.90%), are all down over the past week. Today's Change ( -0.70 %) $ -0.59 Current Price $ 83.68 There's a huge shortage of available homes The question for investors is: When will they get a break? Probably not soon. The housing industry has struggled since the 2008 financial crisis, as not enough homes have been built over nearly two decades to meet demand. Late last year, Goldman Sachs estimated that at least 3 million to 4 million new homes need to be built, beyond normal construction, to address the housing supply shortage and boost affordability. The industry has been in an even worse slump since 2022, when mortgage rates began to climb as the pandemic receded. For more than a decade before the pandemic, mortgage rates remained below 5%, and many homeowners were able to lock in low rates by refinancing their home loans. Now, many of those homeowners are more reluctant to move because they would have to take on greater interest expenses on new loans. Image source: Getty Images. Goldman Sachs says land-use restrictions are the biggest constraint on housing supply growth. Congress just passed bipartisan legislation that became law this week to make it easier to build houses. It includes several provisions to make more land available for homebuilding. That will likely help the ailing housing industry, at least a bit. But until mortgage rates come back down -- which probably can't happen until the war in the Persian Gulf ends and inflation falls back to near the Federal Reserve's 2% target -- I don't see homebuyers or homebuilders getting much relief. Right now, investing in homebuilder stocks is very risky. Matthew Benjamin has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends D.R. Trump Is Touting Toyota, Micron and GM. Wall Street May Like One Stock Best. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Source: The White House newsletterThe White House says the investments reflect the administration’s America First manufacturing agenda. For investors, however, the bigger question may be simpler: Which stock looks like the best buy? Three Companies, Three Very Different Investment ProfilesToyota is investing $3.6 billion to shift Tacoma pickup truck production from Mexico to its San Antonio, Texas, plant. Micron pledged another $3 billion toward its U.S. manufacturing expansion, while General Motors announced a $275 million domestic investment commitment. While the announcements share the same theme—more manufacturing in America—the stocks tell three very different stories. Toyota Quietly Leads the PackAt first glance, Micron appears to have the strongest momentum. Toyota presents almost the opposite profile. The automaker earns a 99.44 Value score—one of the highest in the market—along with an equally impressive 98.75 Quality score and an 84.09 Growth score. Its only weak spot is Momentum, indicating the stock hasn’t participated in the kind of rally seen across many AI-linked names. GM Sits Between the TwoGeneral Motors lands somewhere in the middle. Its 71.94 Value score suggests it still screens as relatively inexpensive, while a 66.75 Momentum score points to respectable recent performance. However, the automaker trails both Toyota and Micron in Growth and Quality, making it a less balanced investment profile according to the rankings. The Bigger Investment StoryThe White House is highlighting billions of dollars flowing into American factories. Wall Street, however, may be paying closer attention to where investors can find the best combination of value, quality, growth and momentum. Among the three companies making this week’s biggest U.S. manufacturing commitments, Toyota stands out as the strongest all-around fundamental play, while Micron remains the momentum favorite fueled by the AI boom. General Motors offers a traditional value proposition but doesn’t score as consistently across the broader ranking system.
