2 quantum computing stocks to turn $10 into $100 in a year | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Following the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, quantum computing stocks are touted as the next big opportunity due to the transformative potential of the technology.Quantum computing remains an emerging industry, with companies racing to develop systems capable of solving problems beyond the practical reach of conventional computers. Progress in hardware, error correction and commercial applications could attract investor interest over the next 12 months. Against this backdrop, Finbold has identified two quantum computing stocks with speculative upside, with the potential of turning $10 into $100 in a year. Notably, neither stock is guaranteed to deliver that return Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI) Rigetti (NASDAQ: RGTI) is developing superconducting quantum processors and integrated computing systems for applications that could benefit from advanced computational capabilities. Despite the technology’s potential, RGTI stock has struggled over the past year. At press time, shares traded at $11.52, down 52% year to date. RGTI YTD stock price chart. Source: Google Finance Rigetti’s latest financial results show commercial activity, although revenue remains small relative to operating costs. In its second-quarter 2026 results, published on August 6, the company reported revenue of $5.1 million and an operating loss of $28.1 million. It ended June with $541.3 million in cash, cash equivalents, and available-for-sale investments to fund research and development and commercial expansion. The company is also pursuing practical high-performance computing applications. Its collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center aims to develop a hybrid quantum-classical supercomputing environment. Rigetti is also pursuing a potential U.S. Department of Commerce funding arrangement worth up to $100 million over three years, subject to the terms of its announced letter of intent. However, operating losses, research costs, and the challenge of improving processor performance remain significant risks. D-Wave Quantum (NYSE: QBTS) D-Wave (NYSE: QBTS) specializes in quantum annealing systems designed to solve optimization problems involving scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation. Their usefulness depends on the application and how they compare with conventional alternatives. QBTS shares have also struggled, trading at $11.60 at press time, down 58% in 2026. QBTS YTD stock price chart. Source: Google Finance The company’s second-quarter 2026 results showed a sharp increase in customer bookings despite lower revenue. D-Wave recorded $35.5 million in bookings in the first half of 2026, up from $2.9 million in the same period of 2025. Its remaining performance obligations reached $40.7 million at June 30, a 668% year-over-year increase. The figures suggest that contracted demand is growing ahead of revenue recognition. More than half of D-Wave’s first-half revenue came from commercial customers, while commercial enterprises accounted for over 50% of its customers during the period. Nevertheless, first-half revenue fell to $5.9 million from $18.1 million a year earlier, partly because of a $13.7 million system sale recognized in 2025, highlighting revenue volatility. D-Wave’s upside depends on converting bookings into revenue, attracting more commercial customers and demonstrating cost-effective applications. New contracts and stronger financial results could improve investor sentiment. However, inconsistent revenue, rising costs and slower-than-expected adoption remain key risks. Strong bookings alone do not guarantee a share-price increase, let alone a tenfold return. Featured image via Shutterstock |

The neocloud stock rout continues as Elon Musk warns of 'guppy-level death' | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Elon Musk said that many neocloud companies face "guppy-level death." Bloomberg/Getty Images Neocloud companies are sliding even lower.Shares dropped further on Monday after Elon Musk warned that many of them face "guppy-level death." CoreWeave and Nebius have both fallen more than 30% over the past month, largely due to growing concerns about the debt they've taken on to build more data centers. In early premarket trading on Monday, CoreWeave was down another 5%, and Nebius was down 3%, though those losses pared somewhat as the opening bell approached. Iren, another publicly traded neocloud, saw a near 3% premarket drop Monday. The declines follow a string of X posts from Musk on Sunday evening questioning the neocloud business model. "As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn't have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers," he said. "That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation," he added. "Some will make it through, but not many." Musk said that while SpaceX has closed $40 billion in debt to buy GPUs, his company makes money through Starlink and rocket launches. Meanwhile, investors are worried that a slowing AI boom could leave debt-heavy neoclouds struggling to service their loans. After one X user posted arguing that Musk was trying to drive down the share prices of neocloud companies to acquire them, Musk replied: "SpaceX is not buying any neoclouds. Pointless." Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang remains bullish about the sector. "The demand for the neoclouds is off the charts," he told CNBC last Thursday. Nvidia holds significant stakes in CoreWeave, Nebius, and other cloud-computing companies. However, a recent Bernstein Research report analyzed thousands of planned US data centers and estimated that only about 35% of the announced capacity will be built. "Press releases are cheap … concrete is not," Bernstein analysts wrote in a research note. CoreWeave Drops 5% as Musk Warns of Neocloud ‘Guppy-Level Death'; IREN Slides 3%, Nebius Slips 2% | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX | SPCX Price Prediction) founder Elon Musk delivered a blunt warning to the companies that rent out AI computing power, and the selling it triggered is concentrated in a narrow slice of the market. CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) stock is…SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX | SPCX Price Prediction) founder Elon Musk delivered a blunt warning to the companies that rent out AI computing power, and the selling it triggered is concentrated in a narrow slice of the market. CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) stock is at $51.62, down 5% in morning trading. For a company that leans heavily on borrowed money to build data centers, a warning about closed-off credit markets strikes at the core of its growth plan. Meanwhile, IREN Limited (NASDAQ:IREN) stock is at $24.37, down 3% to $24.21. Nebius Group (NASDAQ:NBIS) stock trades at $155.50, down 2%. Also, the First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (NASDAQ:SKYY) is at $167.42 and essentially unmoved. Large caps are stronger, with the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) at $762.07, up 0.3%. That gap limits the pressure to the neocloud corner. Musk’s Credit Warning Rattles AI Cloud Renters In posts on X on October 25, Musk said debt markets have almost entirely shut off financing for companies without substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. He went further. He stated that neoclouds, the companies renting graphics processing unit (GPU) capacity to AI developers, face “guppy-level death and consolidation.” Musk named no company, so CoreWeave, IREN and Nebius shares are trading on the remarks as a verdict on debt-funded AI cloud models as a whole. Asked whether he was trying to push the stocks down ahead of a buyout, Musk replied: “SpaceX is not buying any neoclouds. Pointless.” His answer takes a SpaceX deal off the table and leaves the financing argument as the core message for CoreWeave and its peers. CoreWeave’s bonds fell to distressed levels this month on concern over the debt funding the neocloud buildout, so the remarks land on a group already under credit pressure. Nebius Holds Firm While CoreWeave and IREN Slide Both CoreWeave and Nebius rent GPU capacity to AI developers and fund much of their data center buildout with borrowed money. That model ties both stocks closely to credit conditions, which is exactly the pressure point Musk described in his posts. Yet, Nebius is inching higher while CoreWeave slips. IREN came to AI cloud from cryptocurrency mining, so its data center capacity grew out of a different business than the two pure neoclouds. Its shares are still tracking CoreWeave stock lower, which shows that the mining origin hasn’t shielded IREN from the selling, and for now, IREN stock sits closer to CoreWeave stock than to Nebius stock in how traders are pricing Musk’s warning. Within the First Trust Cloud Computing ETF, CoreWeave is one holding among a wide spread of software, networking and infrastructure names, which helps explain the fund’s flat reading. Nebius and IREN aren’t among the fund’s holdings, so the ETF offers no direct read on either name. The fund’s stability points to stress concentrated among a handful of GPU renters. What Musk’s Warning Means for CoreWeave, IREN and Nebius CoreWeave’s next test is whether its bond prices stabilize as lenders reassess the neocloud group, and a recovery in those bonds would ease the credit worry weighing on CoreWeave shares, while further weakness could keep the stock under pressure. Musk warned the group as a whole. Because of that, stronger operators may still separate themselves if consolidation arrives, and we laid out how to ride an AI mania while planning the exit in a free handbook here. For Nebius, the bull case is its contracted demand and its resilience while peers slide; the bear case is that it relies on the same borrowed money Musk called out. For IREN, bulls point to its AI cloud pivot and big-name customers, while bears note its shares are trading in lockstep with CoreWeave. Those with exposure to these neocloud stocks should keep their positions sized modestly given how tightly this group trades on credit conditions. Immuneering Presents Design and Methodology of Ongoing Phase 3 MAPKeeper 301 Trial at ESMO Congress 2026 | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
- Ongoing Pivotal Phase 3 trial evaluating atebimetinib in combination with modified gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel versus standard-of-care chemotherapy in first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer --MAPKeeper 301 builds on encouraging Phase 2a results presented at ASCO 2026 including median overall survival (OS) of 17.3 months - - Global, randomized Phase 3 trial ongoing, with overall survival as the primary endpoint - NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Immuneering Corporation (Nasdaq: IMRX), a late-stage clinical oncology company focused on keeping cancer patients alive and helping them thrive, today announced that a trial-in-progress poster describing the design and methodology for MAPKeeper 301, its ongoing pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating atebimetinib in combination with modified gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel (mGnP) in first-line metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), was presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026 held October 23-27, 2026 in Madrid, Spain. MAPKeeper 301 is a global, randomized, open-label, multicenter Phase 3 trial designed to evaluate whether atebimetinib, an investigational, once-daily oral deep cyclic inhibitor of MEK, in combination with mGnP can improve overall survival compared with standard-of-care gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel (GnP) in patients with previously untreated metastatic PDAC. The trial builds on encouraging results from Immuneering’s ongoing Phase 2a study of atebimetinib in combination with mGnP, which were reported at ASCO in June and demonstrated median overall survival of 17.3 months, median progression-free survival of 8.3 months, an objective response rate of 36% and a disease control rate of 82% among 55 patients. These results compare favorably with historical outcomes for standard GnP, although the studies were not conducted head-to-head. “Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most difficult cancers to treat, and patients with metastatic disease in the first-line setting urgently need new therapies capable of delivering meaningful improvements in survival,” said Ben Zeskind, Ph.D., Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Immuneering. “Our encouraging Phase 2a results reported at ASCO, including median overall survival of 17.3 months in first-line pancreatic cancer patients, provide a strong foundation for MAPKeeper 301. This pivotal Phase 3 trial is designed to determine whether atebimetinib, in combination with modified chemotherapy, can extend survival compared with the current standard of care. We believe atebimetinib’s differentiated Deep Cyclic Inhibition mechanism, designed to shrink tumors durably, preserve body mass, and minimize side effects, has the potential to transform the treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer.” ESMO Congress 2026 Poster Presentation Details: Title: MAPKeeper 301: A Phase 3 Randomized, Open-Label Study of Atebimetinib in Combination with the Modified Gemcitabine and nab-Paclitaxel Regimen Versus Standard Gemcitabine and nab-Paclitaxel for Treatment of Patients with Metastatic Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Abstract Number: 3189TiP Presentation Type: Trial in Progress Presentation Date: October 25, 2026 The poster will be available on the publications section of Immuneering’s website following presentation at https://immuneering.com/publications About MAPKeeper 301 MAPKeeper 301 is a global, randomized, open-label, multicenter Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating atebimetinib in combination with modified gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel compared with standard gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel in patients with previously untreated metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Patients are randomized 1:1 to receive either: Experimental arm: Atebimetinib 320 mg orally once daily in combination with modified gemcitabine 1,000 mg/m² and nab-paclitaxel 125 mg/m², administered on days 1 and 15 of each 28-day cycle.Control arm: Standard-of-care gemcitabine 1,000 mg/m² and nab-paclitaxel 125 mg/m², administered weekly for three consecutive weeks followed by one week off. Randomization is stratified by geography, presence of liver metastases, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status, and whether metastatic disease is newly diagnosed or recurrent. The primary endpoint is overall survival. Secondary endpoints include progression-free survival, overall response rate, disease control rate, safety, and quality of life. Eligible patients must have confirmed metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma, measurable disease and an ECOG performance status of 0 or 1 and must not have received prior systemic anticancer therapy. The study began dosing patients in June 2026 and is currently recruiting patients. Additional information is available at www.mapkeeper301.com and ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07562152). About Immuneering Corporation Immuneering is a late-stage clinical oncology company dedicated to keeping cancer patients alive and helping them thrive, with an initial focus on patients with RAS, RAF, and other MAPK-driven cancers. The Company is developing an entirely new category of cancer medicines, Deep Cyclic Inhibitors, designed to improve overall survival by three mechanisms: shrinking tumors durably with less resistance, preserving body mass by countering cachexia, and minimizing side effects to maximize performance status and combinability. Syntec Optics (Nasdaq: OPTX) Doubles Production for Commercial Satellite Laser Optics to Meet Surging Space Demand | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Syntec Optics (Nasdaq: OPTX), a leading producer of mission-critical space optics, today announced nearly a 2x year-over-year increase in commercial satellite laser optics production volume shipping in 2026 over 2025. Satellite communication is accelerating rapidly. This growth is driven by record demand for airplane Wi-Fi, cruise ship video calls, and new U.S. regulatory approvals announced this month that open up massive opportunities to connect standard mobile phones directly to satellites. "Following this milestone, we have arranged to ship not only our scheduled order quantities but also our on-hand reserve product in inventory," said Matt Carey, VP of Business Development. "Scaling production to get ahead and keep some in reserve requires unprecedented systemization of our precision craft that involves producing amazing optics accurate to 1/3,000th the thickness of a human hair. To put our tolerances in perspective, even body heat walking past a work center can distort dimensions and ruin them. These optics must capture signals the size of a baseball from hundreds of miles away while orbiting Earth at 17,000 mph." With near-ubiquitous global coverage on the horizon, Syntec Optics remains positioned at the cutting edge of precision-engineered products, ready to scale alongside the world's leading low Earth orbit constellations. Dean Rudy, CFO, added, "Our industrial engineering efforts are paying off. With increased volume, we are also containing costs and increasing efficiencies. As announced last quarter, our adjusted EBITDA has expanded to double digits, allowing us to fund announced organic growth through operating cash flows. We maintain significant open capacity, with our existing facility capable of supporting top-line growth without requiring new infrastructure. Consequently, the $14 million in cash reported on our balance sheet last quarter remains unused." Syntec has continued to announce various other Space product lines this fall for collision-avoidance, reconnaissance for defense-dedicated satellites, and Artemis III rocket actuators. Our products last eight years or more, creating a large backlog of over $200 million in space as we tap into widely available capacity in our existing facility. Macro-analyses at McKinsey and the World Economic Forum estimate a steeper growth of the space economy reaching $1.8 trillion by 2035 as non-traditional industries (defense, agriculture, logistics, and retail) increasingly integrate space-enabled data. About Syntec Optics Headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., Syntec Optics Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTX) is one of the nation’s largest bespoke manufacturers of high-precision optics and photonics. With a dedicated team of nearly 180 employees, the company pushes the limits of light-based technologies to connect and protect the world. Syntec supports critical missions ranging from low-Earth-orbit satellites to advanced connected-battlefield defense platforms, AI data centers, and life sciences. As light-enabled technologies continue to account for a significant portion of global economic output—representing nearly $20 trillion of the $111 trillion in total worldwide production as of 2024—Syntec Optics remains positioned at the forefront of the modern optical revolution. SpaceX Kicks Off Yet Another Potential Fleecing of Retail Investors Today, Oct. 26 | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX +1.89%), better known as SpaceX, has spent 2026 rewriting Wall Street's record books. Its June 12 initial public offering (IPO) raised $85.7 billion, including the underwriters' overallotment, and valued SpaceX at $1.77 trillion. Both are never-before-seen figures. But SpaceX's history-making moments aren't always beneficial to its investors. While early investors have made a fortune, retail investors may pay the price for this success. Image source: Getty Images. Space Exploration Technologies' debut as a public company has hardly been conventional. In addition to pricing its shares several days before its June 12 debut, the company's prospectus outlined a staggered and accelerated share lockup period for early-release-eligible insiders. Typically, companies going public prevent their insiders (high-ranking executives, board members, and early investors) from selling shares for 180 calendar days after the IPO. This ensures that insiders don't take advantage of retail investor euphoria early on. However, SpaceX is allowing some of its insiders to sell their shares at several earnings- and time-based events through mid-December. CEO Musk, who's SpaceX's largest shareholder, is not among these early-release-eligible insiders. Great look at the SpaceX shares unlock schedule as well as the potential passive buying schedule from @JSeyff @FrancisSharoon Depending on the early post-IPO returns, this could really play with and disperse the returns of "passive" funds (which is why there's arguably no such thing as passive). $SPCX — Eric Balchunas (@EricBalchunas) May 28, 2026 Two business days after each of SpaceX's quarterly earnings reports, up to 911.5 million shares became eligible for sale. With the company unveiling its third-quarter operating results on Oct. 20, roughly 911.5 million shares became newly eligible for sale on Oct. 22. Several time-based events also allow insiders to sell approximately 319 million shares each time. These events occur on calendar days 70, 90, 105, 120, 135, and 180. Given that calendar day 135 landed on a weekend (Oct. 24), today, Oct. 26, marks the release of another 319 million shares for sale by early-release-eligible insiders. Image source: Getty Images. We're witnessing a dubious wealth transfer in real timeBut this ongoing and accelerated share lockup period for select insiders isn't the only dubious history being made by Musk's company. When Space Exploration Technologies went public, it sold roughly 555.6 million shares. While this might sound like a lot, it represents less than 5% of SpaceX's outstanding shares (OS). Usually, private companies going public sell anywhere from 10% to 25% of their OS. SpaceX selling such a small percentage of its OS created a favorable environment for its stock in the weeks after its IPO. Gaining fast-track entry into the Nasdaq-100, Russell 1000, and Russell 3000 meant that passive funds scooped up a significant portion of the company's float (tradable shares). This artificially low float initially buoyed SpaceX's stock. SPCX Space Exploration Technologies$147.49+$2.74 (+1.89%) NASDAQ · As of 4:00 PM ET 10/23/26 However, with each earnings- and time-based insider share-unlock event, SpaceX's float is rapidly rising. Although this doesn't guarantee that insiders are cashing out, keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of these early investors haven't had any avenues to cash in their chips for years, if not a decade. What we're effectively witnessing with each successive share-unlock event is the greatest wealth transfer in Wall Street's storied history, from retail investors to SpaceX's early-release-eligible insiders. Given the laundry list of unknowns surrounding SpaceX, including the sustainability of its operating model amid its enormous cash needs, it wouldn't be surprising to see insiders ramp up their selling and weigh on the company's stock. |

Meta Is Creating a New Class of Stock. What Shareholders Need to Know | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Meta just unveiled a new class of stock that lets Zuckerberg raise capital without giving up a single vote, and it arrived alongside a quarter that sent shares tumbling on a billion-dollar surprise. What this means for outside shareholders is…Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META | META Price Prediction) is restructuring its capital structure. Along with third-quarter results, Meta announced a new non-voting Class C common stock, effective January 2027. Shares trade at $662.49, down 5.02% today. The 24/7 Wall St. price target for Meta sits at $822.91 over the next 12 months, implying 24.2% upside. The stock earns a buy rating with high confidence from the model. Metric Value Current Price $662.49 Price Target from 24/7 Wall St. $822.91 Upside 24.2% Recommendation BUY Confidence Level 90% CFO Susan Li said the shares are meant to be “usable for capital raising, employee compensation, acquisitions, other general corporate purposes while preserving the voting power of existing Class A and B shareholders.” She added that Meta has “no specific financing plans to announce at this time.” Coverage described the move as a way to keep Zuckerberg in control and in California. For outside holders, the practical question is future dilution, since Meta now has a currency to fund AI spending without reducing founder control. A $9.9 Billion Charge and Negative Free Cash Flow Hit Shares Meta is down 10.18% over the past week and 10.62% over the past month, leaving it up just 0.61% year to date. Shares sit 15% below the 52-week high of $779.82 and 27.6% above the low of $519.37. Q3 revenue rose 26.07% to $64.60 billion, beating the $63.39 billion consensus. GAAP EPS of $3.83 missed expectations of $5.70 because of a $9.89 billion teen mental health settlement charge. Excluding it, EPS would have been $7.40. Capex of $34.91 billion pushed free cash flow to -$2.12 billion, and the negative free cash flow drove today’s selloff. Why Bulls See $857 and Beyond Advertising remains a cash machine. Ad pricing rose 14% and impressions climbed 10% across 3.64 billion daily active people. Q4 revenue guidance of $73 billion to $76 billion signals acceleration. Zuckerberg expects to improve Muse’s compute efficiency “by more than 10x in the next year,” and new AI businesses could start adding revenue in 2027. The bull case hits $857.79, or 29.5% upside. Dilution and Cash Burn Are the Risks Worth Watching Operating margin fell to 20% from 40%, and total youth litigation exposure stands at $18.59 billion with more trials ahead. Debt has hits $83.7 billion. Class C issuance could reducing holders who have no vote. Still, the margin drop mostly reflects a one-time charge, and cash and marketable securities of $82.4 billion give Meta room to operate. The bear case of $716.27 still sits above today’s price. How Meta Compares to Alphabet and Snap As the closest AI and advertising competition, Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) already uses non-voting Class C shares. It set up an at-the-market program for up to $40 billion in Class A and Class C stock, which is a template for how Meta could use its new class. Alphabet’s lower P/E is inflated by a $99.03 billion equity gain, while its higher P/FCF multiple makes Meta’s look reasonable. Snap (NYSE:SNAP) gives public investors only non-voting Class A shares and faces the same youth-safety litigation. It remains unprofitable, so Meta’s earnings power justifies a premium. Company Trailing P/E P/FCF Latest Revenue Growth Meta 25x 33x 26.07% Alphabet 15x 57x 24.23% Snap Negative 21x 18.89% Meta has the fastest growth of the three and sits in the middle on cash-flow valuation, so our target looks reasonable relative to peers. Meta Price Prediction 2026-2030 The 24/7 Wall St. price target of $822.91 carries a buy rating at 90% confidence. What tips the scale is 26.07% revenue growth behind a one-time legal charge. The rating gets stronger if Q4 lands within guidance and Muse costs fall. It weakens if Meta issues large blocks of Class C stock before its AI revenue grows. Year Price Target from 24/7 Wall St. 2026 $822.91 2027 $898.71 2028 $981.49 2029 $1,071.90 2030 $1,170.64 The projections rest on Meta continuing to carry out its current strategy. Largest Class C dilution or more litigation losses could pull results lower, and faster AI monetization could push them higher. Much of that monetization depends on the picks-and-shovels suppliers driving the data-center expansion, which we profiled in a free report on seven AI infrastructure stocks that aren’t chipmakers. Meta announces $95 billion stock offering to fund AI expansion | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Meta said Monday it is planning to raise a total of $95 billion to support its investments in AI infrastructure and superintelligence. The stock was up 1.6% in premarket trading after the announcement. Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom were interested in purchasing up to $5 billion in shares, Meta said in a statement. The tech giant will initially raise $35 billion in underwritten public equity offerings, before raising an additional $60 billion with an at-the-market program. The news comes as hyperscalers pour record sums into the AI infrastructure buildout. Goldman Sachs estimates that AI-related capital spending could total about $7.6 trillion from 2026 through 2031, across compute, data centers and power. Meta's planned investments will support "emerging AI opportunities" including its family of apps, its AI agent Muse and its data center business, the company said Monday. It plans to balance funding for these investments through a mix of operating cash flow, investment-grade debt, partnerships and equity capital. Meta racing to secure AI infrastructureMeta is among the major hyperscalers that are increasingly tapping debt to fund the expensive infrastructure required for the AI boom. Last week, Meta posted third-quarter results showing revenue jumped 26% year-on-year: $64.60 billion versus the $63.37 billion analysts expected. However, investors focused more on the tech company's negative free cash flow and its higher full-year capital expenditure forecast. It now expects its full-year capex to range from $135 billion to $145 billion, raising the bottom of the range from $130 billion. That sent shares lower on the day. Meta is building four "superclusters" with more than one gigawatt of capacity each and is on track to nearly double total infrastructure capacity in 2026 on a year-over-year basis, the company said. The decision to raise more money "reflects the eye-watering levels of investment required to keep up in the AI arms race," Ben Wood, senior partner at CCS Insight, told CNBC. "Meta offering more stock comes at a time when numerous companies, such as Google, SpaceX and soon, Anthropic, are going to the markets to raise funds." Alphabet, Google's parent company, said it would look to raise $85 billion in June. SpaceX has closed a $40 billion debt financing to purchase graphics processing units. Anthropic is preparing for an IPO. TikTok U.S. is looking to secure multiple gigawatts of computing capacity over the coming years, CNBC reported on Friday. |

Meta looks to raise up to $95 billion from stock sales to fund its huge AI build-out | FMP Stock News

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is among the most prominent figures in the AI race. Finn Gomez/Getty Images Meta is tapping investors for up to $95 billion to fund its huge AI build-out. The tech giant said in a Monday filing that it has launched about $35 billion in equity offerings, comprising around $22.5 billion of Class A common stock, and $12.5 billion in depositary shares representing preferred stock. The parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram also said it was planning a $60 billion at-the-market offering once its Class C shares begin trading in the first quarter of 2027. In an at-the-market offering, a company sells shares gradually into the market at the prevailing market price, instead of as a large block at a fixed price. Meta said last week that it would introduce the new share class to help founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg access the liquidity he may need to pay California's proposed wealth tax without having to sell existing shares and erode his voting control over the company. "AI is creating significant opportunities for Meta across its core business and new products and services," the company said in a press release. "Meta is investing to expand the infrastructure and compute capacity needed to support these opportunities and to bring personal superintelligence to billions of people and businesses," it added. Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom have each expressed an interest in buying up to $5 billion of the common stock being offered, but those indications aren't binding, so they might buy more or less, Meta said. Meta stock swung during Monday's premarket from 2% in the green to 0.4% in the red. Meta is spending heavily on AI infrastructure as it develops consumer AI products and pursues Mark Zuckerberg’s goal of "personal superintelligence." The company said it expects to incur $135 billion to $145 billion of capital expenditures this year. It highlighted $97 billion of operating cash flow for the first nine months of this year, and the roughly $82 billion of cash and other liquid assets it held at the end of September. Meta's revenue jumped by 26% to around $65 billion last quarter, but its operating income shrank by 37% to $13 billion as costs surged from about $31 billion to $52 billion. 1 Unstoppable Stock-Split Stock to Buy Before It Joins Nvidia, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Apple in the $3 Trillion Club | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
A high-quality company will typically create tremendous long-term value, sending its stock price soaring into the hundreds or even thousands of dollars. As a result, investors with small portfolios could find themselves priced out of owning one full share, which is why the company might decide to execute a stock split.Stock splits work by increasing the number of shares in circulation, which reduces the price per share by a proportionate amount. The adjustment is entirely cosmetic, so it doesn't change the value of the underlying company. Facebook parent Meta Platforms (META -0.96%) just announced it will execute the equivalent of a 2-for-1 split by introducing a new class of shares. Investors who currently own a single Meta Class A share worth $650 will end up with two shares after the record date: one Class A share with voting rights, and one Class C share with no voting rights, presumably worth $325 each. The prices I've described are merely hypothetical, because we don't know where Meta will be trading when the split eventually happens in January 2027. In any case, Meta is likely to continue creating substantial value for investors over the long term. The company has a market capitalization of $1.65 trillion as I write this (Oct. 23), but here's why I think it could cross the $3 trillion milestone within the next few years, joining an exclusive club that currently only includes Nvidia, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Apple. Image source: Getty Images. Artificial intelligence is transforming Meta's social media apps Meta's portfolio of social media apps includes Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Threads. During the third quarter of 2026 (ended Sept. 30), a record 3.64 billion people used at least one of them every single day. That number represents almost half of the world's population, so it's getting harder for the company to find new users, especially sincee its apps are banned in populous countries like China. As a result, Meta is focusing on engagement instead. If each existing user spends more time online, they will see more ads and generate more revenue for the company. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a central role in this strategy by powering Meta's recommendation algorithms. It learns what type of content users like to see and shows them more of it to keep them locked in. It's working, because chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said engagement hit new record highs on Facebook and Instagram during the third quarter. But Meta's AI strategy is evolving beyond social media entirely. The company launched a personal AI agent called Muse in September, and it has already attracted more than 10 million users. Zuckerberg says more than one-quarter of them are using it as a personal shopper, with an average purchase size of $200. Managing emails and calendars are other common use cases so far. Zuckerberg wants Muse to eventually serve billions of people, who he hopes will use it to improve every facet of their lives -- whether they want relationship advice or want help building a business. This will significantly expand Meta's addressable market by creating an opportunity to divert internet traffic from entrenched platforms like Google Search. META Meta Platforms$642.62-$6.23 (-0.96%) NASDAQ · As of 4:00 PM ET 10/23/26 Meta is growing rapidly, but AI spending is becoming a headwind Meta generated $64.6 billion in total revenue during the third quarter, a 26% increase from the year-ago period. It was a strong result, but the company's bottom line is drawing more attention right now. Meta spent $72 billion on building AI data centers in 2025, and it's on track to spend up to $145 billion this year. Capital expenditures can't be deducted up front because data centers have a useful life of several years, so the company has to depreciate the infrastructure over time. That means the money it spends today will affect its earnings in 2027, 2028, 2029, and beyond. The impacts are already showing up, because Meta's third-quarter expenses soared by 68% year over year to $51.6 billion. That included a $9.9 billion charge from a legal settlement, but most of the growth was driven by AI infrastructure costs, including depreciation, cloud spending, and data center operations. Meta still delivered a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) profit of $9.8 billion during the quarter, more than tripling from the year-ago period -- but only because the company took a one-time tax hit of $15.9 billion in the third quarter of 2025. Without that, Meta's recent Q3 result would have represented a year-over-year decline of 47%. Meta's mathematical path to the $3 trillion club Based on Meta's trailing 12-month GAAP earnings of $29.33 per share, its stock is trading at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of just 22.1. The Nasdaq-100 index has a P/E ratio of 30.2, so Meta looks heavily undervalued compared to a basket of its big-tech peers. Moreover, Wall Street's average forecast (provided by Yahoo Finance) suggests Meta's earnings could grow modestly to $33.82 per share in 2027, placing its stock at a forward P/E ratio of 18.7. META PE Ratio data by YCharts That suggests Meta stock would have to soar by 61% over the next 12 months or so just to match the P/E of the Nasdaq-100, which is possible given its P/E was over 30 for a significant part of the last decade. That alone would see Meta's market cap rise to $2.66 trillion, so even modest revenue growth of 13.5% in 2028 would be enough to justify a $3 trillion valuation. There is no guarantee Meta's P/E will rise to 30.2, but I think it could get there if it shows a phenomenal return on investment on its AI infrastructure spending through the continued success of products like Muse. Alternatively, pulling back on capital expenditures would significantly prop up its earnings, and this is a strategy Zuckerberg used in 2022 when the company's virtual reality spending was getting out of hand. Nevertheless, even if Meta doesn't join the $3 trillion club by 2028, I think it's likely to get there in the long run. |

Wall Street sets Tesla stock price target for next 12 months | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Barclays analyst Dan Levy was the latest institutional expert to revise his position toward Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) stock following its impressive third-quarter (Q3) earnings.Indeed, on Monday, October 26, he replaced his previous ‘Equal Weight’ – ‘Hold’ – rating with ‘Overweight’ – ‘Buy’ – and increased his 12-month price target for TSLA shares from $370 – effectively a 0.60% drop from the latest close at $372.22 – to $450 – a 20.90% upside. According to the Wall Street expert’s note, the change was motivated by the assessment that the potential merger between SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) and Tesla could bring a premium to the car maker’s equity, but also by various business and technological developments. Levy cited a ‘sharp inflection in Robotaxi miles driven,’ rising adoption of FSD – the company’s self-driving technology – strong energy growth, and improvements in demand as additional bullish factors. Analysts revise Tesla (TSLA) stock price for the next 12 months Meanwhile, Barclays’ optimistic reassessment of Tesla stock was largely in line with the rating revisions the electric vehicle (EV) maker saw following the earnings though, notably, the wider outlook for TSLA remains mixed. Overall, Wall Street views Elon Musk’s older public company as a ‘Moderate Buy’ with fourteen positive, eleven ‘Hold’, and two ‘Sell’ recommendations, per the data Finbold retrieved from TipRanks on October 26. The average price target for Tesla stock for the next 12 months is, however, somewhat more optimistic and stands at $414.25 – 11.29% above the latest close. Wall Street sets Tesla stock price target for the next 12 months. Source: TipRanks Additionally, the most recent ratings and forecasts came in as almost universally bullish with new share price estimates generally standing above $400. This trend is also visible with the analysts who still view TSLA shares as a ‘Hold’, with, for example, JPMorgan’s (NYSE: JPM) Rajat Gupta raising the estimate from $415 to $430 on October 22, and both Jefferies and CLSA opting for exactly $400 on the same day. Tesla stock price performance Finally, despite volatility moving the equity in both directions, the recent movements ensured that Tesla stock was, at its latest close at $372.22, 4.13% in the green on the 30-day chart and 4.93% above the October 16 lows. SummaryTesla, Inc.'s growing EV backlog amid elevated fuel prices and expanding, high-margin FSD adoption underscore TSLA's near-term thesis. As the CEO feeds the Tesla - SpaceX merger exuberance, the two entities' estimated 2026 Price/Sales of 22.19x is expensive compared to NVDA (12.37x), AAPL (10.63x), and AMZN (3.23x).Regulatory/execution merger risks loom large, with a spin-off of TSLA's Chinese operations and a premium buyout price in cash/stock being likely outcomes. To deliver the "stratospheric growth," more capital and capex/cash flow pains may be necessary before the realization of the nascent robotaxi, robotics, and foundry opportunities.TSLA remains a Sell, with a prolonged/failed merger likely to trigger downside risks amid a pessimistic stock market environment. Forget the Short-Term Noise: Where Could Tesla Be in 2030? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Tesla is down big this year, burning through billions in R&D, and facing a Wall Street consensus that barely sees any upside. Yet one bold target suggests the stock could nearly double by 2030, and the case for it rests…Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA | TSLA Price Prediction | TSLA Price Prediction) delivered 486,532 vehicles last quarter. It also reached 1.74M active FSD subscriptions and started unsupervised Cybercab rides in Austin. Still, the stock is down 16.71% this year and closed at $374.58. On the Q3 call, Elon Musk said, “I think we’re now headed for a lot of fun and significant growth.” My question is whether Tesla can reach $700 by 2030. What’s Holding Tesla Back Right Now Spending is the problem. Q3 operating income dropped 55.79% year over year to $718 million, while R&D rose to $2.76B from $1.63B. Revenue was flat, with a change of -0.17%. The WSJ summed up the quarter as profit falling because batteries are limiting growth (WSJ). Management also raised its capex guidance for the year to roughly $20 billion. The stock lost 3.08% on October 22 and is down 1.14% over the past month, even after a 3.35% gain over the past week. With a beta of 1.916, these moves are normal for Tesla. Wall Street Sees 6.2% Upside. I Think That Is Too Timid The consensus target of $397.83 points to only 6.2% upside. Of analyst ratings, 4 are Strong Buys, 15 are Buys, 21 are Holds, 2 are Sells and 2 are Strong Sells. Our model projects $404.84, offering 8.1% upside. Its one-year range runs from $363.68 to $466.97, and the model has high confidence in it. Only 43% of analysts are bullish, and the earnings growth factor subtracts 0.003. That undercounts Tesla. Earnings are lower because management chose to spend on R&D. Car demand did not fall off. Here’s What It Takes for Tesla to Reach $700 Moving from $374.58 to $700 means a jump of 86.9%. With forward EPS of $2.0882, a $700 share price works out to a forward P/E of 335x. The base case already implies 225x, so the target needs about 111x more multiple expansion. Earnings growth would do most of that work. Consensus growth is 18.23%. At that rate, EPS would reach about $4.08 in four years. That would put $700 at roughly 172x, which is below today’s multiple. An adjustment factor of 1.052 is also already positive in the model. Here are the catalysts I see: Megapacks are “almost sold out” for 2027, and energy gross margin rose to 33.1%. More than 75% of North American Q3 deliveries included a paid FSD sign-up. Vaibhav Taneja said FSD “probably at least doubles the profit per car” over its lifetime. Tesla and SpaceX are in merger talks, and Morningstar highlighted valuation as a key issue (Morningstar). The main risk is cost: Musk said TeraFab alone could need capital “north of 100 billion”. Where Tesla Trades Today vs Its Earnings Power At 179x forward earnings, Tesla is expensive. The stock trades in a 52-week range from a high of $498.83 to a low of $297.38. Over 10 years, the stock has returned 2,671.11%. That record helps explain why investors pay a premium for Tesla’s future earnings. $700 Is a Stretch, But Here’s Why It’s Possible Reaching $700 means a 86.9% gain. The model’s highest 2030 bull case is $584.92, so I see $700 as a stretch. Three things would have to go right. Robotaxi would need to become significantly profitable in 2027, energy margins would have to keep rising, and Optimus would need to start customer deliveries on schedule. If battery shortages and spending keep pressuring profits, the target falls apart. Returns at this level shouldn’t be expected every year, but we’ve outlined the plan for how Tesla could reach $700 in 2030. Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections. |

Tesla turns to Turo to boost adoption of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Car rental giant Turo will start advertising which Teslas on its marketplace are outfitted with the automaker’s advanced driver assistance system, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) — or FSD, a collaboration that could boost further adoption of the driving software.Eligible Turo “hosts” who rent out their cars on the platform will also receive a free one-month trial of FSD. Turo said it is working with Tesla to directly access the automaker’s API to verify which cars have FSD enabled. The announcement comes just a few days after Tesla offered updated figures that show the carmaker is finally getting more customers to pay for the software, which can handle most driving tasks but still requires human supervision. Last week, Tesla revealed that around 1.7 million customers have paid for FSD globally, out of more than 10 million cars built and sold to date. The company said more than 75% of customers who took delivery of a car in North America during the third-quarter paid for an FSD subscription. That was a roughly 20% increase from the second quarter, though the company’s U.S. sales have been in decline. Tesla has spent much of the last year re-working some of its showrooms to focus more on FSD as a selling point. In a post last week, the company’s chief executive Elon Musk said the effort is working. “People are buying FSD with a car attached, not the other way around,” wrote Musk. “Customers are now coming in and saying: ‘Can we get into an FSD drive?’ They’re not asking for [Model] 3, [Model] Y, or Cybertruck,” Tesla’s finance chief Vaibhav Taneja said on last week’s earnings call. For Turo, the addition of FSD rentals gives the company a chance to boost what are already some of its most heavily-rented vehicles. Turo said Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y are the third and fourth-most popular vehicles on its platform this year. “[T]his integration further increases host earning opportunities as interest in self-driving technology grows,” said Turo. “This industry-first integration with Tesla is another example of how Turo is redefining what car rental and access can look like,” Turo chief executive Andre Haddad said in a statement. “Most travelers have had limited opportunity to experience driver’s assistance technology, but the demand is clear. Our own research shows that 55% of Americans are interested in driverless technology for travel, growing to 71% for Gen Z. Turo’s marketplace model is uniquely positioned to close the gap between consumer curiosity and hands-on access.” Customers who rent an FSD-enabled Tesla through Turo will be served cautionary language that requires drivers to monitor the software, and be ready to take over at any moment. Drivers will also have the option to view a Tesla-created tutorial. “When enabled, your vehicle will drive you almost anywhere with your active supervision, requiring minimal intervention,” a screenshot of the Turo app reads. The listings themselves, meanwhile, allow owners to promote their cars as “Self-Driving,” according to another screenshot provided by Turo. Nicotine vs. Sugar: Two Distinct Paths to Defensive Cash-Flow Fortress Dominance | FMP Stock News

Coke and Philip Morris both beat expectations this quarter, but each is quietly betting against its own best product to survive the next decade. Which sacrifice looks smarter for your portfolio?Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO | KO Price Prediction) and Philip Morris International (NYSE:PM) both beat expectations in their latest earnings reports. Both are old habits that are still changing. Coke sold more regular and zero-sugar soda during a World Cup summer. Philip Morris moved further into IQOS, ZYN and VEEV while cigarettes paid for the shift. Each generates strong cash flow through a different business model. Coke Sold More Soda While Philip Morris Raised Cigarette Prices Coke’s second-quarter unit case volume rose 5%. Trademark Coca-Cola had its strongest volume growth in 17 years, not counting the COVID rebound, so demand for the flagship drink remains strong. Coca-Cola Zero Sugar grew 16%, which makes it the main low-sugar growth driver. CEO Henrique Braun described the goal this way: “Our mission is simple, ensuring our brands are valued, relevant and worth choosing.” At Philip Morris, third-quarter combustible pricing rose 8.9% even though cigarette shipments were flat. Marlboro can still raise prices without losing smokers. Smoke-free products now make up over 40% of net revenues. ZYN’s share of the pouch category rose 1.4 points from June to September, which shows ZYN gained ground against rivals. Business Driver Coca-Cola Philip Morris Growth Engine Zero Sugar, Trademark Coke IQOS, ZYN, VEEV Cash Funder Asset-light concentrate model Combustible pricing Adjusted EPS $0.97 $2.36 Coke Spends on Affordability While Philip Morris Gives Up Margin for ZYN Coke is putting money into keeping drinks affordable. Asia Pacific price/mix fell 9% while volume in the region grew 8%. Coke is giving up margin now to win future customers in India and China. Net leverage of 1.4x EBITDA is below Coke’s target range, so the balance sheet has room to spare. Philip Morris is taking a bigger hit on purpose. ZYN cans are moving to 20 pouches at the old 15-pouch price, which works out to “approximately 25% less revenue per pouch.” Fourth-quarter U.S. operating income should come in “around zero or slightly negative.” That is a big short-term sacrifice. Even so, the company raised its dividend 8.8% to $1.60 a quarter. Can ZYN Volume Make Up for Lower Pouch Prices? I will be watching whether ZYN volume grows fast enough to cover the lower price per pouch. Management expects revenue to lag for “three quarters.” Rising excise taxes in Japan and Germany add more uncertainty. For Coke, you should keep an eye on the redesigned Coca-Cola Zero Zero aimed at evening occasions. The fourth quarter will also have six fewer days than last year, and Coke’s tax case against the IRS is still waiting on an appeals court ruling. Why Coke Fits My Low-Stress Portfolio Better I prefer Coke for stability. It has raised its dividend for 63 years in a row and guides to about $12.4B of free cash flow. My worry is valuation. Shares are up 35.2% this year at about 30 times earnings, so a lot of good news is already priced in. Philip Morris pairs a strong income profile with higher regulatory risk. Its $6.40 annual payout is backed by Marlboro’s pricing power. If U.S. ZYN profits recover by mid-2027, I would like Philip Morris a lot more.
