Bristol Myers Squibb's Cancer Breakthrough Could Have Implications Beyond Its Own StockExelixis NASDAQ: EXEL reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of approximately $659 million, supported by continued growth in its cabozantinib franchise and progress toward a potential launch of zanzalintinib in colorectal cancer.
Chief Executive Officer Mike Morrissey said the company is positioning zanzalintinib, also called zanza, as its second potential oncology franchise alongside CABOMETYX. He said CABOMETYX’s third-quarter performance reinforced management’s confidence in the product’s long-term growth trajectory, while zanza remains the company’s top research and development priority.

Exelixis Reports Solid Earnings—Are New Highs Back on the Table?“Zanza is in the spotlight as our next potential franchise opportunity,” Morrissey said, pointing to ongoing pivotal trials and a planned second wave of potential pivotal studies across genitourinary, gastrointestinal and other tumor types.
Third-quarter financial results
Cabozantinib franchise U.S. net product revenue rose about 11% year over year to $605 million during the quarter. CABOMETYX net product revenue totaled $603 million and did not include clinical-trial sales. Chief Financial Officer Chris Senner said clinical-trial sales have historically varied between quarters and are expected to remain uneven.
3 Stocks to Buy for a Soft Landing, If There Is OneGlobal cabozantinib franchise net product revenue, including sales from Exelixis and its partners, increased approximately 11% year over year to $818 million. Total revenue also included about $52 million in royalties from partners Ipsen and Takeda on their cabozantinib sales.
Exelixis reported GAAP net income of approximately $218 million, or $0.85 per diluted share, for the third quarter. Non-GAAP net income was approximately $240 million, or $0.94 per diluted share, excluding about $22 million of stock-based compensation expense net of related tax effects.
Total operating expenses were approximately $390 million, up from $380 million in the second quarter. Senner attributed the sequential increase primarily to higher legal and advisory fees, marketing expenses and cost of goods sold, partially offset by lower license and collaboration costs.
The company ended the quarter with approximately $1.4 billion in cash and marketable securities. During the quarter, it repurchased roughly $250 million of common stock, retiring about 4.5 million shares at an average price of $55.77 per share. About $348 million remained available under the company’s $750 million share-repurchase authorization as of Sept. 30.
Senner said the company updated its full-year gross-to-net deduction estimate to approximately 30%. Third-quarter gross-to-net deductions were approximately 29%, lower than the prior quarter primarily because of lower 340B discounts.
Zanzalintinib development advances
Executive Vice President of Research and Development Dana Aftab said Exelixis has seven ongoing potentially label-enabling zanza trials, which it calls its Wave 1 program. The company is also planning Wave 2 studies designed to explore additional tumor types and combinations with immunotherapies, chemotherapy and other treatment approaches.
The company’s updated Prescription Drug User Fee Act action date for its zanza new drug application based on the STELLAR-303 trial in colorectal cancer is March 3, 2027.
Exelixis said sites are activated and enrolling patients in STELLAR-316, a Phase III study of zanza with and without subcutaneous pembrolizumab in patients with resected stage 2 or 3 colorectal cancer who test positive for molecular residual disease following definitive therapy but have no radiographic evidence of disease.
In kidney cancer, Exelixis expects top-line results from its STELLAR-304 Phase III study in non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma during the first quarter of 2027. The trial compares zanza plus nivolumab with sunitinib. Aftab said the company is approaching a clinical data cutoff, which is driving the timing expectation.
The company also highlighted continued enrollment in its STELLAR-311 trial in neuroendocrine tumors and STELLAR-201 trial in recurrent meningioma. Separately, it initiated enrollment in STELLAR-202, a Phase II study evaluating zanza plus pembrolizumab in squamous non-small cell lung cancer following induction treatment with pembrolizumab and chemotherapy.
Exelixis is also exploring zanza combinations in bladder cancer, including in patients previously treated with enfortumab vedotin and a PD-1 inhibitor, as well as a zanza-docetaxel combination in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The company said it has begun enrolling a cohort combining zanza with its XB628 bispecific immunotherapy in a Phase I trial.
Aftab additionally announced XL558, a selective somatostatin receptor 2 agonist, as a newly nominated development candidate. Exelixis plans to submit an investigational new drug application for XL558 later in 2026.
CABOMETYX demand remains strong
Executive Vice President of Commercial PJ Haley said CABOMETYX continued to gain demand in renal cell carcinoma and neuroendocrine tumors. In an oral TKI market basket that includes CABOMETYX, lenvatinib, axitinib, sunitinib and pazopanib, CABOMETYX’s total prescription share rose to 49% in the third quarter from 46% a year earlier. Its prescription volume increased 13%, compared with 6% growth for the market basket.
Haley said CABOMETYX remains the leading TKI-plus-immunotherapy combination in renal cell carcinoma through its combination with nivolumab, while it is also the leading oral therapy in the second-line-plus neuroendocrine tumor setting.
In neuroendocrine tumors, CABOMETYX’s second-line-plus new-patient oral market share exceeded 50%, according to Haley. He said the company expects refills to increase as more patients remain on treatment, while its expanded gastrointestinal sales team has activated more than 1,000 unique neuroendocrine tumor prescribers since launch.
Potential colorectal cancer opportunity
Pending regulatory approval, Exelixis sees zanza’s potential third-line-plus colorectal cancer launch as an opportunity to build on its commercial presence in community oncology. Haley estimated the U.S. third-line-plus colorectal cancer setting includes approximately 23,000 patients and represents an approximately $1.5 billion market opportunity using contemporary pricing.
He said roughly 70% of colorectal cancer prescribers overlap with CABOMETYX prescribers, with overlap rising to 90% when co-located addresses are included. Exelixis believes its established community-based commercial capabilities could support a potential zanza launch in the indication.

Injective is bringing together some of the biggest names in technology, tokenization, artificial intelligence, and global finance for its first ever Hacker House.
From December 1 to 10, 2026, 20 selected teams will live and build alongside the Injective core team, gaining direct access to industry leaders from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Animoca Brands, SMBC Nikko, Bittensor, Ninja Labs, and Gulf Labs. Co-organized with HackQuest, the 10 day program will focus on building the next generation of onchain applications spanning real world assets (RWAs), privacy, and agentic finance, with developers receiving hands-on technical mentorship, cloud infrastructure, potential grant funding, and support to bring their products to market.
Applications are open until November 10. Apply at injectivehackerhouse.com.
The Teams Behind the Hacker House
The Injective Hacker House brings together an impressive group of organizations spanning traditional finance, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and Web3. Participating teams will gain direct access to experts from AWS, Animoca Brands, SMBC Nikko, Bittensor and Gulf Labs, alongside Injective's core developers and HackQuest's global builder network.
AWS will provide cloud infrastructure support and credits for participating developers, while Animoca Brands brings its extensive experience investing in and supporting Web3 companies. SMBC Nikko, part of one of Japan's largest financial groups, contributes expertise in institutional capital markets, while Bittensor brings its knowledge of decentralized AI and machine intelligence.
Ninja Labs will provide opportunities for standout projects to receive milestone grants and continued incubation, while Gulf Labs will support the program through regional expertise and mentorship. HackQuest will co-organize the Hacker House, drawing on its network of more than 14,000 builders and experience running developer programs globally.
The program will also feature mentorship from Injective Co-founder and CEO Eric Chen, alongside representatives from participating organizations. Selected teams will have opportunities to engage directly with industry leaders, receive technical guidance, and develop relationships that extend beyond the 10 day program.
Building on Injective's Latest Financial PrimitivesThe Hacker House follows several major developments across Injective's financial infrastructure, creating new opportunities for developers building AI applications onchain.
Recent institutional milestones include Pineapple Financial bringing more than $1 billion in mortgage records onto Injective, the launch of Injective Mint for institutional tokenization, and Injective Institutional Services becoming an SEC registered transfer agent. Together, these advances expand the infrastructure available for building applications around tokenized assets and traditional financial markets.
Injective has also introduced two new financial primitives in consecutive days. The Super Intelligence Compute Index ($SICI) brings NVIDIA GPU rental prices onchain through a new perpetual market, while Injective's options primitive enables developers to create their own white label options exchanges, derivatives protocols, and customized financial products.
These developments give participating teams access to new markets and financial infrastructure that can be integrated directly into AI applications, from autonomous trading agents to financial products built around compute, derivatives, and tokenized assets.
Meet the MentorsThroughout the program, selected teams will work directly with Injective's core developers and receive guidance from executives, engineers, and industry experts representing the participating organizations.
The mentor lineup includes Eric Chen, Co-founder and CEO of Injective, alongside other members of Injective's leadership and developer ecosystem teams. Participants will also have access to representatives from organizations including Animoca Brands, SMBC Nikko, Gulf Labs, Bittensor, and HackQuest.
Mentorship will extend beyond technical development. Founders will have opportunities to discuss product strategy, institutional use cases, fundraising, and the challenges involved in bringing new financial applications to market. Developers will also be able to work directly with the Injective core team on protocol integrations, smart contract architecture, and the implementation of new financial primitives.
Additional mentors and industry participants will be announced leading up to the event, with the latest lineup available at injectivehackerhouse.com.
Ten Days of Building in BangkokThe Injective Hacker House will bring 20 teams together from December 1 to 10 for an intensive development program. Unlike traditional hackathons that center on a single weekend of development, the extended format gives teams time to work through technical challenges, receive ongoing feedback, and make meaningful progress toward launching their applications.
The program will be organized around four main stages:
Kickoff and Project Introductions
The Hacker House begins on December 1 with introductions, project presentations, and initial discussions with mentors. Each team will outline its development objectives for the 10 days, identify the challenges it hopes to address, and connect with the technical and industry experts most relevant to its project.
Direct Technical Mentorship
Teams will work alongside the Injective core team throughout the residency, with direct support for technical integrations, application architecture, and protocol development. Participants building around Injective's financial modules, tokenization infrastructure, or new options primitive will be able to discuss implementation directly with developers familiar with the underlying systems.
Workshops and Industry Office Hours
A series of workshops and office hours will bring together mentors from Injective and supporting organizations to cover technical development, AI infrastructure, financial products, and go to market strategy. These sessions will complement the time participants spend working on their projects, with opportunities for individual feedback and discussions around specific development challenges.
Demo Day
On December 9, the program will culminate in Demo Day, where participating teams will present their applications to Injective leadership, ecosystem partners, and invited industry experts. Projects demonstrating strong execution and long-term potential may qualify for Ninja Labs milestone grants, further technical resources, and continued incubation through the Injective ecosystem.
The program concludes on December 10, with selected teams able to continue working with Injective and its ecosystem partners after the residency.
What Selected Teams ReceiveThe Injective Hacker House is designed to remove many of the logistical and technical barriers that can slow down early development, allowing founders to dedicate their time in Bangkok to building.
Selected teams will receive accommodation and meals for the duration of the program, along with financial contributions toward travel. Each eligible participating entity will also receive AWS cloud credits, providing access to infrastructure resources that can support the development and deployment of AI applications.
Beyond these resources, the program offers something that is often considerably harder for early-stage founders to access: sustained time with the engineers building the underlying protocol and direct engagement with industry experts from major technology and financial organizations.
Participants will have opportunities to work with Injective's development team throughout the residency, receive feedback from mentors affiliated with participating organizations, and present their projects during Demo Day. Standout projects may also receive Ninja Labs milestone grants and continued ecosystem support, including additional assistance with development, integrations, and commercialization.
The objective is for teams to leave Bangkok with more than a prototype. By the end of the program, participants should have made meaningful progress on a working product, developed relationships with other builders and mentors, and established a clearer path for continuing development within the Injective ecosystem.
Who Should Apply? The program is open to AI founders and developers who are already building on Injective and are ready to make substantial progress on their applications.
Projects exploring autonomous trading agents, AI payment systems, RWAs, perpetuals, decentralized AI infrastructure, privacy, options and other applications using Injective's native financial modules are particularly relevant to the program. Teams working on new use cases beyond these categories are also encouraged to apply, provided their applications are focused on AI and actively being developed on Injective.
All participating teams must be able to communicate in English and commit to attending the full 10 day program in Bangkok. With only 20 teams selected, the program will prioritize founders who can demonstrate existing development progress, a clear product direction, and the ability to make effective use of the technical mentorship and resources available.
How to ApplyApplications are open now and will close on November 10, 2026.
Prospective participants can review the full program overview, eligibility requirements, and frequently asked questions at injectivehackerhouse.com, where applications can also be submitted.
Selected teams will be contacted by email or Telegram in mid-November and provided with further information about travel arrangements, accommodation, and program preparation. Participants will then arrive in Bangkok for the December 1 kickoff, with Demo Day scheduled for December 9 and the program concluding December 10.
Injective Hacker House does not charge application fees, deposits, or crypto payments. Any individual requesting payment on behalf of the program is not affiliated with the official event. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
Come Build With UsThe Injective Hacker House brings together developers, engineers, investors, and financial industry experts at a time when AI is beginning to take a more active role in global financial markets.
With the introduction of new infrastructure for institutional tokenization, AI compute markets, and onchain options, developers now have access to a broader range of financial primitives on Injective than ever before. The Bangkok program is an opportunity to put those capabilities to work, with direct support from the teams developing the infrastructure and from major organizations across AI, Web3, and traditional finance.
For founders already building on Injective, the next step is to apply.
Applications close November 10, 2026. Visit injectivehackerhouse.com to apply.

Elon Musk fired off two cryptic words as reports of a staggering Binance breach sent crypto markets into freefall, with estimates of the damage ranging so wildly that nobody yet knows how bad it actually is.
This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.
The biggest crypto story of the day drew two words from Elon Musk. At 6:33 PM ET on October 29, 2026, Musk quote-posted The Kobeissi Letter’s report of a Binance hack and wrote: “Everyday is Zeroday”. At last check, the post had drawn 17,644 likes and 1,962 retweets.
A “zero-day” is a security flaw that attackers exploit before the software maker knows it exists. The developer has zero days to prepare a fix before the damage starts. Read alongside the Binance reports, we take the post as a warning that exchanges and their users face this kind of exposure all the time. That reading is our own. Musk offered nothing beyond the two words and has given no sign of special knowledge about the incident.
Loss Estimates Range Widely as Outlets Race to Report
Binance has called the event a “security incident,” and TechCrunch reported that the exchange paused withdrawals. Estimates of the loss vary widely, and Binance has not confirmed a total. Here is what has been reported in the past few hours:
The Kobeissi Letter, in the post Musk quoted, said wallets on the Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and TRON (CRYPTO:TRX) networks saw outflows of $5.7 billion. That included $1.45 billion of Bitcoin and $875 million of ETH, according to The Kobeissi Letter.
Bitcoin Magazine reported that Binance lost $5.8 billion.
CryptoTicker reported that $2.8 billion was stolen from a Binance hot wallet. A hot wallet stays connected to the internet so an exchange can process withdrawals quickly.
Yahoo Finance reported that $2 billion was stolen.
Reuters reported that Tether and Circle Internet Group (NYSE:CRCL | CRCL Price Prediction) blocked $2.38 billion after Binance reported a security incident. That figure counts the stablecoin balances the two issuers locked up. It is a separate number from the total taken.
CNBC described a potential Binance “security issue.”
The Wall Street Journal reported that Binance’s founder said the exchange “may be” the victim of the biggest-ever crypto theft. Bloomberg reported that founder CZ said Binance “may have been hacked.”
Tether and Circle can blocked their tokens at specific wallet addresses. Issuers use that tool to stop stolen funds from moving or being swapped into other assets. For a sense of scale, our coverage in October 2022 reported that Binance blocked trading after it spotted a potential hack worth $600M. Every estimate in circulation today is several times larger than that.
Crypto Prices Fall as Hack Fears Spread
Selling started before most of the headlines appeared. BeInCrypto reported that crypto liquidations exceeded $628 million in a single hour as hack fears hit Bitcoin. A liquidation is the forced closing of a borrowed position once losses wipe out the trader’s collateral.
Binance’s native token, BNB (CRYPTO:BNB), took the hardest hit. It fell 7.11% over 24 hours to $704.28, leaving it 48.59% below its all-time high. Bitcoin slipped 3.27% to $78,620, which puts it 37.64% below its $126,080 peak from October 6, 2025. Ether lost 4.05% and now trades at $2,263.83.
Bitcoin is now below both its 20-day moving average of $81,854.49 and its 50-day average of $81,896.19. It is still above its 200-day average of $73,070.62. The token had already lost 10.23% year to date before today’s news.
Key Unknowns to Track Before the Next Move
Confirmed figures from Binance. Reported totals range from $2 billion (Yahoo Finance) to $5.8 billion (Bitcoin Magazine). Only an official accounting will determine the number.
Further blocked. More blocked by stablecoin issuers or other exchanges would narrow the amount attackers can actually move.
Customer balances. None of the reports cited here has established whether customer funds were affected. Watch for the timing of any restart of withdrawals.
Price action. BNB is the most direct read on confidence in Binance. Bitcoin’s 200-day average is the next widely tracked level below the current price.
The story is still developing, and the figures above may change as Binance and investigators release more information.

The derivatives regulator brought tech and crypto firms together to discuss autonomous trading agents, without announcing any new rules
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission wants to talk about machines that might one day trade better than humans. On October 28, 2026, its Innovation Task Force hosted the first-ever Frontier Forum, a session focused on super intelligence and what it could mean for US derivatives markets.
The forum centered on two related ideas. The first is super intelligence, often shortened to SI. The second is agentic trading, where autonomous software agents make and carry out trading decisions on their own.
What happened at the forum
CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig opened the event with keynote remarks. He framed SI as a technology with transformative potential for finance, largely through the deployment of highly autonomous systems.
Selig also called SI a generational technology. He compared it to the internet.
His central policy pitch was what he described as an “intelligent regulation” framework. The idea is a regulatory approach that leaves room for technological innovation while keeping an eye on emerging financial risks.
The program featured two main panels. One examined how SI could be applied to derivatives trading. The other dug into the regulatory considerations raised by autonomous trading agents.
The panelist lineup pulled from both technology and finance. Representatives from Ornn, Architect, Liquid Compute, Multicoin Capital, and Chainlink Labs took part. Named participants included Michael J. Passalacqua, Greg Xethalis, and Katherine Kirkpatrick Bos, among others.
Discussion topics covered three broad areas:
How SI is being implemented in trading practices
The risks that come with automated trading systems
The regulatory frameworks needed to manage autonomous agents
The event was streamed live, with dial-in options for remote participants. Selig characterized the gathering as an opportunity for dialogue rather than a launchpad for immediate regulatory action.
The forum produced no new rules and no enforcement decisions.
Why the CFTC is doing this now
The Frontier Forum is not a one-off. It is the first installment of the Frontier Forum Series, which the agency announced on September 21, 2026. That leaves roughly five weeks between the announcement and the debut event.
The series is meant to give the CFTC a structured way to explore where emerging technologies meet market practice. Its stated priorities include responsible adoption, better dialogue between regulators and industry, and collaboration with stakeholders before future policy decisions get made.
The guest list also carries a signal. Multicoin Capital is a crypto-focused investment firm, and Chainlink Labs builds oracle infrastructure, the plumbing that feeds real-world data to blockchain applications. Their presence at a CFTC forum on autonomous trading shows the agency treating crypto-native builders as relevant voices in the broader conversation about automated markets.
What this means for markets and builders
The “intelligent regulation” language is worth watching closely. It implies the agency is trying to build something more adaptive than traditional rule sets, which tend to describe specific activities. Autonomous agents complicate that model, because the activity can change as the software learns or is updated.
There are open questions the series will likely need to work through. Who is responsible when an autonomous agent makes a harmful trade? How should firms test and monitor these systems? What disclosures, if any, should apply? The first forum framed these issues without answering them, consistent with its role as a listening session.

OneSpan (OSPN - Free Report) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.35 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.22 per share. This compares to earnings of $0.33 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.
This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of +59.09%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this internet security company would post earnings of $0.25 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.3, delivering a surprise of +20%.
Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates four times.
OneSpan, which belongs to the Zacks Internet - Software industry, posted revenues of $63.89 million for the quarter ended September 2026, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 11.49%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $57.06 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates four times over the last four quarters.
The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.
OneSpan shares have added about 56.4% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 13.1%.
What's Next for OneSpan? While OneSpan has outperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?
There are no easy answers to this key question, but one reliable measure that can help investors address this is the company's earnings outlook. Not only does this include current consensus earnings expectations for the coming quarter(s), but also how these expectations have changed lately.
Empirical research shows a strong correlation between near-term stock movements and trends in earnings estimate revisions. Investors can track such revisions by themselves or rely on a tried-and-tested rating tool like the Zacks Rank, which has an impressive track record of harnessing the power of earnings estimate revisions.
Ahead of this earnings release, the estimate revisions trend for OneSpan was mixed. While the magnitude and direction of estimate revisions could change following the company's just-released earnings report, the current status translates into a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for the stock. So, the shares are expected to perform in line with the market in the near future. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.
It will be interesting to see how estimates for the coming quarters and the current fiscal year change in the days ahead. The current consensus EPS estimate is $0.33 on $66.61 million in revenues for the coming quarter and $1.24 on $250.31 million in revenues for the current fiscal year.
Investors should be mindful of the fact that the outlook for the industry can have a material impact on the performance of the stock as well. In terms of the Zacks Industry Rank, Internet - Software is currently in the top 36% of the 250 plus Zacks industries. Our research shows that the top 50% of the Zacks-ranked industries outperform the bottom 50% by a factor of more than 2 to 1.

OneSpan’s board approved a quarterly dividend of $0.13 per share. Limongelli said the company has returned $55 million to shareholders through dividends and stock repurchases since the beginning of 2025, or just under $1.50 per share.
Cybersecurity Revenue Benefits From Expansions Cybersecurity revenue increased 11.3% to $44.9 million. Subscription revenue within the division grew 17.4% to $32.5 million, driven primarily by customer expansion agreements, multi-year term-license revenue, new customers, acquisitions and new products. Hardware revenue rose 7% to $10.5 million.
Martell said certain customers requested earlier-than-expected Digipass token deliveries, shifting some hardware revenue that had been anticipated in the fourth quarter into the third quarter. As a result, OneSpan expects a lower hardware contribution in the fourth quarter, though its full-year hardware outlook remains unchanged.
Cybersecurity ARR rose 10.1% to $127.2 million. The unit’s gross margin increased to 77% from 74%, reflecting a greater mix of subscription revenue and more favorable hardware shipments, partly offset by amortization associated with Build38. Operating income for the division was $18.5 million, or 41% of revenue, compared with $16.7 million in the prior-year quarter.
During the quarter, OneSpan launched its DigipassONE platform, which combines its authentication, mobile application protection, credential-verification and analytics offerings. Limongelli said the company plans to release DigipassONE Verify early next year and DigipassONE Insights afterward.
Limongelli said the company expects its verification offering to be particularly relevant for European banks as the European Digital Identity Regulation requires banks to support digital identity wallets for customer onboarding and authentication by December 2027.
In response to analyst questions, Limongelli said the company believes its hardware business has become more sustainable, with FIDO2 security keys expected to contribute increasingly in 2027 and later years. However, he said the hardware business through the first three quarters remained predominantly tied to older banking-related products.
Digital Agreements Margin Expands Digital Agreements revenue grew 13.5% to $19 million, driven by customer overages, expansion renewals and new customer additions. ARR for the unit increased 5.7% to $68.4 million.
Martell said a major banking customer that had generated overage revenue signed a renewed contract during the quarter with a materially larger annual commitment. The customer’s revenue will now be recognized ratably under the multi-year contract, resulting in lower overage revenue in the fourth quarter as overages return toward more typical levels.
Digital Agreements gross margin rose to 74% from 72%, aided by higher revenue and improved cloud infrastructure efficiency. Operating income increased to $6.9 million, or 37% of revenue, from $4.2 million, or 25% of revenue, a year earlier.
Limongelli said OneSpan is adding capabilities to OneSpan Sign aimed at improving agreement completion, strengthening identity and document assurance, and connecting completed agreements with customers’ downstream systems and processes. The investments include a redesigned user experience, AI-assisted document validation, identity-verification features and broader integrations. He said the company has generally bundled these capabilities to date as part of its product differentiation strategy.
Full-Year Outlook Raised OneSpan raised its 2026 outlook following the third-quarter performance. The company now expects:
Total revenue of $254 million to $258 million, up from prior guidance of $248 million to $252 million. Software and services revenue of $208 million to $210 million, compared with prior guidance of $202 million to $204 million. Hardware revenue of $46 million to $48 million, unchanged from prior guidance. ARR of $197 million to $201 million, up from $194 million to $198 million previously. Adjusted EBITDA of $72 million to $76 million, compared with prior guidance of $67 million to $71 million. Martell said the revised outlook reflects higher expected fourth-quarter software and services revenue, partly offset by lower hardware revenue because of the earlier token shipments. The company expects full-year gross margin to be slightly above 74%.

The Binance hack has been confirmed, and it is the largest cryptocurrency hack in history. Blockchain investigators traced up to $5.5 billion in suspicious transfers from the exchange’s hot wallets on Thursday.
Stablecoin issuers have already intervened. Tether confirmed freezing more than $1.567 billion in USDT, while Circle blocked more than $800 million in USDC.
Ripple also reportedly froze approximately $200 million.
Tether froze more than 1.567B USDT related to a potential Binance exchange hack.
Protecting the industry and our partners is our main priority.
Stay safe everyone.
— Paolo Ardoino 🤖 (@paoloardoino) October 29, 2026 That brings the reported frozen amount to nearly $2.6 billion, although the total stolen remains unconfirmed.
As of writing, both Binance exchange withdrawals and Binance Alpha trading remain suspended.
The incident added pressure to an already falling crypto market. Bitcoin dropped below $79,000, while BNB fell sharply.
How Did the Binance Hack Happen? Security researchers suspect attackers exploited an Ethereum feature called EIP-7702 to gain control of a Binance hot wallet.
1. The Attacker Gained Control of Wallet Permissions EIP-7702 allows an ordinary Ethereum wallet to authorize a smart contract to act on its behalf.
Investigators found that Binance’s wallet appeared to have delegated control to an unverified contract. How the attacker obtained the required authorization remains unknown.
2. The Attacker Tried 50 Authorizations Researchers say the attacker submitted 50 signed authorizations with different transaction sequence numbers, known as nonces.
Binance’s wallet was processing transactions continuously. Only the authorization matching its current sequence number succeeded.
That allowed the malicious contract to become active.
The attacker didn't know Binance 14's live nonce.
So they sprayed 50 EIP-7702 auths (18914775-18914824) in one type-4 tx.
Only 1 of 50 was a hit.
A 7702 auth is valid only for the current nonce at inclusion. The hot wallet was still firing. One nonce in that window landed. https://t.co/ZjjayMIIHi pic.twitter.com/XFWqW6ezXw
— Blockaid (@blockaid_) October 29, 2026 3. The Contract Began Draining Funds The contract reportedly contained functions designed to withdraw ETH and other tokens.
Within minutes, approximately 167,464 ETH and 1.615 billion USDT were transferred from Binance 14, alongside dozens of other cryptocurrencies.
Funds subsequently moved through this receiving address.
4. The Threat Could Continue Researchers warned that the malicious delegation could remain active until replaced or revoked.
That means newly deposited funds could also be exposed if the affected wallet continued operating under attacker-controlled code.
Binance has not published a technical explanation confirming this attack mechanism.
As part of our ongoing security measures, Binance Alpha trading has been temporarily suspended – CEX Buy Token/Alpha instant/CEX purchase prediction marketing using fund in spot wallet.
Trading will resume once the security issue is resolved.
User funds remain safe. We’ll keep… pic.twitter.com/xk9FXB9Hac
— Binance (@binance) October 29, 2026 What Should Binance Users Do Right Now? Hot wallets are internet-connected exchange wallets used to process customer transactions. Their exposure does not automatically mean individual customer accounts have been compromised.
Users should take the following precautions:
Check official Binance updates. Monitor withdrawal availability through the Binance app or website. Avoid suspicious links. Ignore messages offering hack compensation, emergency withdrawals or account recovery. Enable two-factor authentication. Prefer an authenticator app or security key. Verify withdrawal addresses. Check the entire address before transferring funds. Address-poisoning scams can place lookalike addresses in transaction histories. Never share recovery phrases or private keys. Binance support will not need them. Binance says user funds remain safe. The final extent of the suspected breach, including any customer losses, is still under investigation.

EIP-7702 developer: EIP-7702 itself has no vulnerabilities, but it accelerated the transfer of stolen assets from Binance's hot wallet.
ZeroDev founder and EIP-7702-related developer Derek Chiang stated in a post that EIP-7702 itself has no flaws, and users of wallets supporting the standard—including MetaMask, Uniswap, and Ambire—need not panic. The account abstraction proposal allows external accounts to insert smart contracts after signing an authorization, enabling batch transactions such as one-click authorization and swaps. However, this same functionality lets attackers transfer all tokens in a single transaction. In the Binance hot wallet breach, attackers exploited this to siphon ETH, USDT, and 62 other tokens in one transaction. Without EIP-7702, attackers would have had to initiate separate transactions for each token, potentially competing with the exchange’s normal withdrawals for nonce values, so EIP-7702 enabled attackers to steal funds faster and in larger volumes. Chiang noted that for attackers to use EIP-7702, they either need access to a private key or to trick Binance into signing an EIP-7702 authorization; the latter scenario is unlikely but cannot be ruled out ahead of the official post-mortem. His advice to wallet developers and hot wallet operators: never expose interfaces that request EIP-7702 authorization or sign raw messages to the public, and users should opt for well-known wallets.

PTC Therapeutics NASDAQ: PTCT reported third-quarter 2026 total revenue of $358 million, including $276 million in net product revenue, as sales of phenylketonuria treatment Sephience continued to expand in the United States and internationally.
Chief Executive Officer Matthew Klein said the company raised its full-year product revenue outlook to $960 million to $990 million and now expects total 2026 revenue of $1.29 billion to $1.32 billion. The revised product revenue outlook represents year-over-year growth of 64% to 69%, according to the company. PTC also said it expects to reach cash-flow breakeven during 2026.

Sephience Launch Drives Product Growth Sephience generated $182 million in third-quarter revenue, rising more than 20% from the second quarter, according to Chief Business Officer Eric Pauwels. The company said more than 2,000 patients worldwide were actively receiving the treatment as of Sept. 30.
Klein described the product’s first year of launch as a success but said the company remains in the “early innings” of expanding use. PTC estimates that roughly 58,000 people with PKU live in its target markets globally, while about 17,000 are in the U.S. The company said the vast majority of those patients have not yet tried Sephience.
In the U.S., the company cited continued demand among therapy-naive patients, patients who previously tried and failed other therapies, and individuals switching from branded or generic Kuvan. PTC said all U.S. centers of excellence are now prescribing Sephience, and its commercial organization is focusing on deeper engagement at individual treatment centers.
Pauwels said more than one-quarter of actively treated Sephience patients in the third quarter were therapy-naive adults, including some who had returned to care after years without treatment. The company is also targeting patients switching from Kuvan, citing extension-study data from AMPLIPHY that PTC said showed further reductions in phenylalanine levels and increased protein intake among responding patients after they switched.
Management said adherence remained strong, while cumulative discontinuations were in the low 20% range. Klein said the company expects adherence among patients switching from Kuvan to be higher than levels observed during the early launch, when Sephience was used more frequently by therapy-naive and more severe patients.
Internationally, PTC highlighted growth in Japan as well as patient starts in the Middle East, North Africa, Latin America and Canada. The company is negotiating pricing and reimbursement in Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Pauwels said PTC expects a German reimbursement decision “fairly soon,” while negotiations in France, Italy and Spain are anticipated to conclude in the first half of 2027.
Klein said the company expects the U.S. to account for the majority of Sephience revenue at peak, although it expects the patient population outside the U.S. to be larger. PTC continues to project a peak sales opportunity of more than $2 billion for Sephience.
Mature Brands and Royalty Revenue PTC’s Duchenne muscular dystrophy franchise generated $74 million in third-quarter revenue. Translarna contributed $49 million, including a government purchase order from Russia, while Emflaza contributed $25 million.
Management said Translarna sales were also supported by markets in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa. However, Klein said PTC does not expect additional large government purchase orders from Brazil or Russia in the fourth quarter.
For Emflaza, the company said brand loyalty remained strong despite multiple generic competitors. Klein noted that a new generic entrant has reduced prices in the market, which affected the company’s expectations for the product.
Roche reported approximately $607 million in global third-quarter sales of Evrysdi, resulting in $82 million of royalty revenue for PTC.
Fabry Asset Acquisition and Pipeline Updates During the quarter, PTC acquired ST-920, a BLA-stage gene therapy candidate for Fabry disease, for an upfront payment of $111 million and up to $100 million in contingent milestones tied to U.S. regulatory approval. The company said ST-920 is a one-time administered AAV gene therapy designed to deliver a humanized copy of the GLA gene.
PTC plans to complete a rolling biologics license application submission seeking accelerated approval in the fourth quarter of 2026. If approved, the company said ST-920 could launch commercially in 2027. Klein said PTC believes the acquisition could become accretive in 2027.
Pauwels said PTC is preparing for a U.S. launch by mapping claims data and engaging with centers of excellence and patient advocacy groups. He said the company sees more than 11,000 Fabry patients in the U.S. and believes a number of them remain untreated.
Elsewhere in the pipeline, the company said an FDA Type C meeting on its votoplam Huntington’s disease program has been rescheduled for the first quarter of 2027 because of FDA scheduling. Klein said the change was a calendar matter and not related to the program’s data package. Enrollment continues in the global Phase III INVEST-HD trial, which is planned to enroll approximately 770 early symptomatic patients.
PTC also initiated the global PROVE-FA study of vatiquinone in Friedreich’s ataxia. The single-arm study is intended to support resubmission of a new drug application and is expected to enroll about 120 participants ages 7 through 21.
The company further said it started a Phase IIa study of PTC844, an oral DHODH inhibitor, in adults with rheumatoid arthritis, while its Phase I study of oral NLRP3 inhibitor PTC612 is progressing. PTC303, an oral small-molecule splicing candidate targeting MSH3, remains on track to enter the clinic in 2027.
Expenses and Cash Position Third-quarter non-GAAP research and development expense was $95 million, compared with $91 million a year earlier. Non-GAAP selling, general and administrative expense declined to $67 million from $74 million in the prior-year quarter.
PTC ended the quarter with $2.13 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities, compared with $1.95 billion at the end of 2025. Chief Financial Officer Pierre Gravier said the company intends to remain disciplined in evaluating additional business-development opportunities while using its global commercial infrastructure and financial flexibility to support long-term growth.
About PTC Therapeutics (NASDAQ:PTCT)PTC Therapeutics, Inc is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing medicines for rare diseases. NeoCloud stocks have sold off as investors question whether specialized AI infrastructure providers can afford their ambitious expansion plans. A NeoCloud is a cloud provider focused on supplying the GPU-intensive computing capacity used to train and run AI models. Among the names I follow, Nebius Group N.V. (NBIS) is the one I favor buying amid the weakness.
In my October 27 episode of Being Exponential, I explained why the recent pressure on AI infrastructure stocks doesn’t mean the AI computing boom is finished. It means investors need to get much more selective about which companies can fund the next phase of growth.
That’s where Nebius comes in. Among the NeoCloud stocks I reviewed, it was the only one where I saw enough fundamental strength and technical evidence to make a high-conviction case for buying the dip. Here’s why.
Why NeoCloud Stocks Are Under Pressure
Building AI infrastructure takes much more than buying NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) GPUs. Providers need suitable sites, reliable power, expensive networking equipment and, crucially, enough capital to bring computing capacity online before collecting all the revenue it can generate.
Meanwhile, hyperscalers such as Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) and Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) are pouring capital into their own AI buildouts. My concern is that as these larger, established companies seek additional financing, smaller NeoCloud operators could face tougher terms and higher borrowing costs.
That creates a potential shakeout. A company can have impressive customer demand and still struggle if it cannot afford to deliver the computing capacity it has promised. I expect the industry to consolidate, and the survivors could ultimately enjoy a larger share of the market.
For investors, the question is which NeoCloud businesses have the financial resources, infrastructure and strategic relationships to survive that consolidation.
Nebius Stock: Why It Stands Out
1. A More Attractive Financing Profile
In the episode, I compared Nebius’s approximately $8 billion in cash and $10 billion in debt with a far more heavily leveraged CoreWeave Inc. (CRWV) balance sheet, based on the figures available in my analysis at the time. Those point-in-time figures are not a substitute for the companies’ latest filings, but they illustrate why I see Nebius as relatively better positioned.
Borrowing terms matter alongside the size of a company’s debt. In the podcast, I discussed relatively low-coupon convertible financing as part of Nebius’s advantage. Separately, Nebius announced a $3.5 billion Citigroup Inc. (C) facility on October 22, 2026, with a 364-day maturity and initial interest at Term SOFR plus 2.75%, subject to adjustments. That is additional access to funding, but it also creates floating-rate and refinancing exposure.
My point is comparative: I believe Nebius has more room to maneuver than some rivals if capital becomes harder to obtain.
2. Microsoft and Meta Provide Demand Visibility
Long-term commitments from major customers give Nebius something important: visibility into future demand for computing capacity. On the show, I highlighted Microsoft and Meta Platforms Inc. (META) as major customers. These agreements strengthen the case for Nebius, but delivering that capacity will still require substantial capital and execution.
In its March 16, 2026 announcement, Nebius described a five-year agreement with Meta comprising $12 billion of dedicated capacity beginning in early 2027 and additional capacity purchases of up to $15 billion. Nebius said the overall agreement could be worth up to $27 billion. Those figures are future commitments, not revenue already recognized.
Those relationships strengthen the investment case, although they also create customer concentration risk. If a major customer changes its deployment plans, the consequences could be significant.
3. Power, Land and NVIDIA Backing Matter
AI computing capacity is only useful if the operator can power and deploy it. That’s why I put so much weight on access to electricity, suitable land and data center development rights.
Nebius has campuses and development projects in Europe and the United States, including major power plans in Missouri. Planned or contracted megawatts should not be confused with capacity already energized and producing revenue. Still, I see its infrastructure footprint as an advantage in an industry where getting power online can be a major bottleneck.
NVIDIA’s strategic backing also matters to my thesis. In a March 11, 2026 announcement, NVIDIA and Nebius disclosed a partnership and a $2 billion NVIDIA investment. That relationship lends credibility, but it does not guarantee profitability or stock returns.
Nebius Revenue Growth Shows the Opportunity, and the Risk
Demand is translating into reported growth. According to Nebius’s August 12, 2026 earnings release, second-quarter group revenue reached $582.3 million, up 454% year over year. Its AI cloud business contributed $574.9 million, approximately 99% of group revenue.
The company also reported a $3 billion annualized revenue run rate at the end of June. Annualized run rate is a snapshot of business activity expressed on a yearly basis, not revenue already recognized for the year.
These figures help explain my optimism, but fast revenue growth does not solve every problem. Nebius continues to face substantial capital spending requirements, and positive adjusted EBITDA does not mean its expansion is generating positive free cash flow.

Is NBIS Stock Showing Signs of a Bottom?
Fundamentals are only part of my analysis. In the episode, I also pointed to Nebius holding an important support area around $150, an oversold relative strength index (RSI) bounce, improving momentum and the possibility of a bullish moving average convergence/divergence (MACD) crossover.
Those were observations about the chart when I recorded the episode, not permanent price levels. At the time, the bullish MACD crossover had not fully triggered, and other confirmation was still missing. Technical indicators can reverse, especially in volatile stocks.
I was sufficiently encouraged to favor Nebius for investors with a high tolerance for risk. For more cautious investors, my approach was to consider starting with a smaller position and adding only as the chart and broader conditions improved. That is a way to manage uncertainty, not a guarantee against losses.
The Biggest Risks to My Nebius Stock Thesis
The central risk is straightforward: Nebius must keep financing, building and delivering expensive AI computing infrastructure. Strong customer demand does not guarantee profitable execution.
Financing and dilution: Expansion may require more debt or equity capital, potentially increasing borrowing costs or diluting shareholders.
Customer concentration: A relatively small number of major customers account for important commitments.
Deployment delays: Power connections, construction and GPU deliveries can affect when contracted capacity begins generating revenue.
Market volatility: Sentiment, interest rates and AI capital spending expectations can move NBIS sharply, even without a major change in reported demand.
My Bottom Line on Nebius Stock
I remain bullish on the long-term demand for AI computing. But the next phase of the NeoCloud market may be defined by financing discipline and execution, not just the size of a company’s order book.
That’s why Nebius is the name I favor. I believe its customer relationships, infrastructure position, strategic backing and comparatively attractive financing give it a better chance of emerging from a difficult industry shakeout. In my review of the group, it was the one NeoCloud stock where the fundamentals and technical setup aligned most convincingly.
I’ve previously explained how rising demand for AI agents could expand the need for computing capacity in The 3 AI Stocks That Will Define 2027. But demand alone isn’t enough. Nebius still has to deliver.

Google parent Alphabet lost approximately $500 billion in market value Thursday after its shares plunged nearly 13% following disappointing quarterly earnings, marking the second-largest single-day market value loss in stock market history.
Alphabet's Class A shares closed at $283.82, down 12.64%, wiping approximately $499.8 billion from the company's market capitalization, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The sell-off followed Alphabet's third-quarter earnings report Wednesday, which showed revenue of $127.6 billion, up 25% from a year earlier but below Wall Street's expectations.
The results heightened investor concerns about the company's massive spending on artificial intelligence (AI) and slowing growth in its core search advertising business, which remains a major source of revenue.

Google Search revenue grew 12% from a year earlier, down from 17% growth in the previous quarter, adding to concerns about the company's ability to sustain growth as AI-powered search tools reshape the industry.
Alphabet spent approximately $51.4 billion on capital expenditures during the quarter, much of it directed toward data centers and computing infrastructure needed to support its expanding AI operations.
The company expects capital expenditures to reach between $195 billion and $205 billion this year, with spending projected to increase significantly in 2027, according to previous FOX Business reporting.
Despite the concerns, Alphabet's cloud computing business continued to grow rapidly.
Google Cloud revenue more than doubled to $30.7 billion, an increase of 103% from a year earlier, exceeding analysts' expectations of $29.2 billion.

The growth reflects strong demand for AI services, but the costs of meeting that demand could put pressure on profitability.
Alphabet Chief Financial Officer Anat Ashkenazi warned that Google Cloud could face near-term pressure on profit margins as the company relies on outside computing capacity to meet demand, FOX Business previously reported.

Thursday's decline surpassed Alphabet's previous record single-day market value loss of approximately $275 billion in July, according to Forbes.
Nvidia holds the record for the largest single-day market value loss after shedding approximately $589 billion in January 2025.
Shares of Alphabet (GOOGL -12.64%)(GOOG -12.29%) slid around 10% in after-hours trading on Wednesday, Oct. 28, after the Google parent released its third-quarter results. The sell-off came even though revenue grew 25% year over year to $127.6 billion and Google Cloud's revenue more than doubled.
But two other numbers looked worse. Earnings per share slid to $2.12 from $2.87 a year before. And free cash flow was negative for the second straight quarter, as capital spending rose to $51.4 billion -- over twice the year-ago total.
The drop puts the stock near $293 as I write, about 27% off its record close of $402.62 on May 13. I think the earnings decline looks worse than it is, but the cash flow is worth a closer look.

Underlying profits still grewMost of the decline in Alphabet's earnings per share had little to do with Google's operations. The company counts gains and losses on its stakes in other businesses as part of its earnings, and these swings can be big.
In the third quarter, an $8.7 billion loss on equity securities lowered earnings per share by $0.55, the company said. A year before, a $10.7 billion gain and related investment fees added $0.68.
Excluding both, earnings per share rose about 22% year over year, to about $2.67 from about $2.19.
Operating income, which leaves out these investment swings, climbed 30% to $40.6 billion. But last year's third quarter had a $3.5 billion charge for a European Commission fine. Without the fine, operating income grew around 17%.
Showing where the growth is coming from, Google Cloud's revenue climbed 103% year over year to $30.7 billion in the third quarter -- its sixth straight quarter of faster growth, after 63% and 82% in the first two quarters of the year. The unit's operating income roughly tripled to $11.1 billion. So Google Cloud turned about 36% of its revenue into operating profit, up from about 24% a year ago. And Alphabet's total revenue growth has quickened all year, to 25% from 22% in the first quarter.
Margins are slidingStill, Alphabet's big spending on artificial intelligence (AI) is now showing up in its income statement. The company's operating margin dropped to 31.8% in the third quarter. It was 34% in the second quarter and 36.1% in the first. It was also under the 33.9% margin Alphabet reported a year ago, without the fine.
Depreciation on property and equipment, which grows when new data centers come online, jumped 49% year over year to $8.4 billion. And the costs Alphabet doesn't assign to a segment, mainly shared AI research, climbed to $7.7 billion from $4.5 billion.
Cash flow took a harder hit. Operating cash flow shrank 13% year over year to $42.3 billion, while capital spending grew 114%. Free cash flow was around negative $9.1 billion, after a negative $5.9 billion the quarter before. CNBC said that the third-quarter number also included a $5.2 billion payment linked to a 2018 European Commission fine.
For the last 12 months, Alphabet produced around $19.7 billion in free cash flow. A year before, the same number was around $73.6 billion.
To cover the gap, Alphabet has been borrowing and selling stock. Long-term debt hit $125.1 billion at the end of September, up from $46.5 billion at the start of the year. On top of that, the company sold around $12.4 billion in new stock during the quarter, and it didn't buy back any shares over the first nine months of the year.
And the spending isn't letting up. Alphabet held its 2026 capital expenditures outlook between $195 billion and $205 billion, which implies about $63 billion to $73 billion for the fourth quarter alone. Management also said it expects capital spending to grow significantly in 2027.

Is the drop a buying opportunity?Shares now trade at around 19 times Alphabet's expected 2027 earnings. Before the report, they sold for about 21 times those earnings. For a company growing revenue 25% year over year, I'd say the stock is reasonably priced.
Of course, free cash flow will likely stay negative for at least another quarter or two. And Google services revenue rose 11%, slower than 15% in the second quarter, with Google Search & other up 12%.
But a segment that tripled its operating income in a year suggests the spending is already paying off.
Is that enough to make Alphabet stock a buy after the drop? I think so. At this price, I'd consider buying shares, though the cash flow might get worse before it gets better.
Alphabet Inc. remains a Buy despite missing top- and bottom-line analyst expectations as underlying growth accelerates. Google Cloud revenues surged 103% YoY, driving company-wide growth and justifying heavy CapEx despite negative FCF concerns. TPUs could become a notable catalyst as OpenAI plans to purchase chips from Google. External TPU sales are a new market opportunity.

When headlines scream that a stock had its "worst day ever," it's often an exaggeration. But that wasn't the case for Google parent Alphabet (GOOG -12.29%) (GOOGL -12.64%) today.
Alphabet did, in fact, have its worst day ever today. It dropped over 13% after reporting Q3 results. That's its biggest share price drop – in both percentage and absolute dollars – since the company went public in 2004.

In terms of market capitalization, Alphabet is now worth $482 billion less than it was this morning. That's the second-largest one-day market cap drop in U.S. history. Nvidia's (NVDA -0.80%) $593 billion DeepSeek-related drop from January 2025 still holds the top spot.
Ouch.
So, how horrible were Alphabet's quarterly results to prompt this kind of sell-off?
That's the thing: they weren't that bad. Revenue and operating income soared. But there was one big number that overshadowed everything, and it's the one that mattered most to Wall Street.
Here's why the market just handed Google's parent its worst day ever, and why there might be more bad days to come for Alphabet investors.
Record revenue meets record spendingAlphabet's quarterly revenue of $127.6 billion was a 25% increase from the prior-year quarter. This was primarily driven by a surge in Google Cloud revenues, which jumped 103% year-over-year, from $15.2 billion to $30.7 billion. According to the company, that massive increase was driven by "huge demand for... AI infrastructure and AI solutions."
Google search revenue – the company's largest revenue category – also grew, but by a lower-than-expected 12%, to $63.4 billion. That represented a slowdown from the 17% growth it saw in Q2.
That revenue gain translated to a 30% increase in operating income, thanks to an operating margin of 31.8%, up slightly from the prior year's 31%. In other words, Alphabet is making more money more efficiently.
But unfortunately for Alphabet, operating income isn't net income, and it was on the bottom line where the company ran into problems.
In Q3 2025, the company's operating income of $31.2 billion was boosted by $12.8 billion in "other income," resulting in $44 billion in earnings before taxes. This year, it was almost the reverse. Alphabet's $40.6 billion in operating income saw an $8.2 billion net decline from "other expenses," resulting in $32.4 billion of income before taxes.
That meant the bottom line was just $26.2 billion in net income, down 25% from the prior-year quarter. When you factor in the company's issuance of 36 million new shares of stock during the quarter, diluted earnings per share were just $2.12, down 26% from Q3 2025.
And you can probably guess what those "other expenses" were.
It's all about AIIf you guessed AI spending, you're right!
Alphabet's capital expenditures jumped to a record $51.4 billion from $24 billion in the year-ago quarter. That was even more than the $44.9 billion it spent in Q2. As a result, it recorded its second consecutive quarter of negative free cash flow, at $9.1 billion.
The moral of the story is that AI is proving to be a double-edged sword for Google.
On the one hand, it's driving huge growth in both revenue and net income from Google Cloud, resulting in record revenue and strong growth in operating income.
On the other hand, it's costing a fortune, and right now the enormous upfront expenses are outweighing the gains. The slowing growth in Google Search revenue also raises concerns that AI agents are eroding Google Search's dominance, which could turn AI into a net negative revenue driver for the company if the trend continues.
Although rising capex, a decline in profits, and two consecutive quarters of negative cash flow aren't good, investors should remember that, at least as of now, this is still a short-term problem. If Alphabet can continue growing Google Cloud revenue and figure out how to monetize the growing number of AI searches on its platform, it could easily come out a winner.
But it's likely to take some time before that becomes clear, and in the meantime, nervous investors may not be willing to give the free-cash-flow-negative Alphabet the benefit of the doubt.
While another 13% one-day drop seems unlikely, there may be many more rough days in Alphabet's near-term future.

While investors scrutinize revenue and earnings changes year-over-year and how they compare with Wall Street expectations to determine their next move, some key metrics always offer a more accurate picture of a company's financial health.
As these metrics influence top- and bottom-line performance, comparing them to the year-ago numbers and what analysts estimated helps investors project a stock's price performance more accurately.

AWS Growth Accelerates on AI and Core Cloud Demand
Anthropic's IPO Filing Reveals a Massive Opportunity for AI Infrastructure GiantsAWS revenue totaled $46 billion in the quarter, rising 39.3% year over year and adding $3.8 billion sequentially. The cloud unit reached an annualized revenue run rate of $184 billion. AWS operating income was $17.8 billion, representing a 38.7% operating margin.
Jassy said AWS growth accelerated for a sixth consecutive quarter and reached its fastest pace in nearly five years. He cited demand for both traditional cloud computing and AI services, noting that AWS backlog stood at $578 billion and was growing at a triple-digit rate year over year.
Buy the Dip: 4 Stocks the Market Marked Down Too Far Ahead of Big Catalysts“Almost as fast as we install capacity, customers are gobbling it up,” Jassy said, adding that Amazon was installing an AI accelerator about every 14 seconds.
The company said Amazon Bedrock, its managed service for accessing and building with foundation models, has become the fastest-growing multibillion-dollar service in AWS history. Fortune 500 companies spent nearly seven times more on Bedrock year over year, while total token volume increased nearly 17-fold, according to Jassy. Amazon recently added OpenAI models as well as managed versions of Kimi, GLM and SpaceX models to the platform.
Jassy also highlighted demand for the company’s custom chips. Revenue commitments for both Graviton and Trainium increased more than 20-fold year over year, while customers using Amazon custom silicon saved more than $2 billion during the quarter, he said. Amazon intends to make Trainium available outside AWS beginning in late 2027.
Looking ahead, Jassy said Amazon expects AWS to grow more than 40% in both 2027 and 2028 and believes the unit could become a trillion-dollar annual revenue business within five to 10 years. He said the outlook reflects visibility into customer commitments for large blocks of capacity, continued enterprise cloud migration and rising production use of AI inference.
Capital Spending Rises With AI Infrastructure Buildout
Amazon’s cash capital expenditures totaled $75.9 billion in the third quarter, primarily for AWS and AI infrastructure. The company continues to expect approximately $220 billion in cash CapEx for all of 2026, with the majority directed toward AWS, and Jassy said spending is expected to rise meaningfully in 2027.
Management said it sees the investment cycle as a long-term opportunity to expand revenue, free cash flow and return on invested capital. Jassy said the company continues to shorten the time needed for infrastructure investments to break even, though he said returns vary between core cloud and AI infrastructure.
Olsavsky said AWS profitability has benefited from capacity optimization, fixed-cost management, custom chips and networking investments. However, he noted that AI services currently have lower margins than the core AWS business, creating a mix-related pressure on overall margins. Component pricing also remains a headwind.
Jassy said Amazon’s ownership or long-term leasing of much of its data-center capacity, along with use of internally designed chips, provides structural cost advantages compared with cloud providers relying more heavily on colocation or “neocloud” arrangements.
Retail Margins, Faster Delivery and Grocery Expansion
Amazon’s North America revenue rose 6% to $112.9 billion, while International revenue increased 8% excluding foreign-exchange effects to $43.1 billion. Worldwide paid units grew 12%.
Results were affected by the timing of Prime Day. The sales event took place in the second quarter in most large markets this year, compared with entirely in the third quarter of 2025. Olsavsky said third-quarter year-over-year revenue growth would have been about 400 basis points higher excluding that timing change.
North America operating income totaled $8.7 billion, for a 7.7% margin, while International operating income was $1.6 billion, for a 3.7% margin. Amazon said it reduced overall cost to serve despite higher fuel and line-haul transportation costs, helped by inventory placement, shorter shipping distances and package consolidation.
Shipping costs increased 11% year over year, compared with 12% growth in units. Excluding fuel and line-haul inflation, shipping costs rose 8%, or about 400 basis points below unit growth, Olsavsky said.
Jassy said Amazon delivered more than 1.5 billion items to Prime members through same-day or overnight delivery during the quarter. Amazon Now, the company’s ultrafast delivery offering, is now available in more than 450 towns and cities, and the number of items ordered through the service rose tenfold year over year.
Grocery and everyday essentials also remained a focus. Fresh groceries and everyday essentials grew about three times faster than the rest of Amazon’s store and accounted for roughly half of units sold during the quarter. Customers using same-day perishable delivery bought about seven times more everyday-essential units than those who did not, management said.
Advertising, Pharmacy and Fourth-Quarter Outlook
Amazon Ads generated $19.6 billion in third-quarter revenue, up 12% year over year. Jassy said the growth rate was affected by Prime Day’s move to the second quarter, the timing of NBA programming on Prime Video and a comparison with changes to the company’s search-engine marketing programs a year earlier. He said Amazon expects advertising revenue growth to return to the high teens in the fourth quarter.
Amazon Pharmacy customers increased more than 60% year over year, with repeat customers rising more than 50%, Jassy said. The company now offers three-hour prescription delivery in more than 350 cities.
For the fourth quarter, Amazon expects foreign exchange to reduce year-over-year net-sales growth by approximately 60 basis points. Olsavsky also said fuel and line-haul inflation is expected to be higher in the fourth quarter than in the third.
Amazon Leo’s commercial service remains on track to begin initial service by year-end. The company expects to begin capitalizing certain Leo production and launch costs in the first quarter of 2027; as a result, it expects to continue expensing most Leo-related costs during the fourth quarter.

Amazon (AMZN -4.25%) spent $77.3 billion on property and equipment in the third quarter, more than twice the $35.1 billion it spent a year earlier, according to the tech giant's latest earnings report released earlier today.
That spend helped Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company's cloud business, deliver its best growth in almost five years -- 39% year over year -- but investors are still weighing whether they're comfortable with the enormous scale of AI capital expenditures.

Amazon earnings: free cash flow loss and rising debtCompanywide sales rose 12%, reaching $201.9 billion, while earnings per share (EPS) came in at $1.89, less than the $1.95 per share earned a year earlier. Both figures were below Wall Street's targets, though Amazon says shifting its massive "Prime Day" sale out of Q3 left about 4 percentage points of revenue growth on the table. And on the bottom line, the EPS hit was partly due to an unusually strong Q3 last year when the company recorded a $9.5 billion pretax gain on its stake in Anthropic, the maker of Claude.
The real concern, in my view, was cash flows. After accounting for its investments, the company was left with a free cash flow (FCF) loss of $42.4 billion over the past 12 months. A year prior, that was a $14.8 billion gain. The company still expects to spend about $220 billion on capital expenditures in 2026, so cash will still be flowing out of the door -- before any borrowing, which the company is doing quite a bit of.
The company raised $48.1 billion in long-term debt during the quarter. Its total long-term debt rose from $65.6 billion at the end of 2025 to $173.1 billion. Take a look at the chart below showing that growth.

Amazon Web Services growth and the cloud spending raceWith some of that spending paying off, AWS was really the star, reaching $46.0 billion in revenue and delivering a $17.8 billion operating profit -- 63% of the company's total operating income. CEO Andy Jassy expects AWS to grow more than 40% in both 2027 and 2028 as capacity is still "largely sold out" for next year.
Amazon isn't alone in spending big to meet cloud demand. Microsoft (MSFT -0.16%) and Alphabet (GOOG -12.29%) (GOOGL -12.64%) both reported strong cloud growth yesterday, tempered by massive spending, with one key difference: Microsoft still has positive FCF, while Alphabet's FCF swung to a $9.1 billion outflow from a $24.5 billion inflow a year earlier.
AI cloud demand and Anthropic: why I'm still skepticalAWS is growing at a remarkable rate, and much of its capacity is already spoken for. So too are Microsoft's Azure and Alphabet's Google Cloud businesses. But I'm still skeptical that over time, the math will work out on these investments, and in the meantime, more debt is being introduced to the equation as spending outpaces cash generation.
And beyond this, I think investors need to consider where a lot of that demand is coming from. AI labs like Anthropic are driving a significant part of this growth and are the future demand that these companies are counting on. I'm not sure how reliable Anthropic and its rival OpenAI will be in the years to come given the enormity of their commitments.
If Anthropic's revenue growth keeps following an exponential path, that might not be a problem, but if that growth cools off -- which we are already seeing evidence of -- these hyperscalers may have a hard time collecting everything their spending plans are built on.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told analysts Thursday that “some folks are sleeping a bit” on how much progress the company’s stores business has made. (GeekWire File Photo) No company has ever had a business with $1 trillion in annual revenue. Andy Jassy says Amazon is on a path to have two.
Amazon Web Services and the company’s stores business could both reach that milestone in the next five to 10 years, the Amazon CEO said Thursday in the company’s third-quarter earnings release and on its call with analysts.
It’s “pretty rare” for Jassy to make a projection that far out, Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak observed on the call, asking how he gets there.
Jassy’s answer started with AWS, which is at a $184 billion annual revenue run rate after growing 39% in the third quarter. He expects growth of more than 40% in both 2027 and 2028, and pointed to a $578 billion backlog of contracted AWS revenue.
The largest customers reserve capacity in huge blocks, sometimes as much as a gigawatt at a time, giving Amazon “very good visibility” into 2027, 2028 and part of 2029, he said.
Beyond that, he said, businesses are still early in using AI, the cost of running AI models keeps falling, and new uses keep emerging, such as AI models finding and fixing security flaws.
“You can’t predict with any certainty five to 10 years from now, especially at these types of growth rates,” Jassy said of AWS. “But it’s not a stretch for us to imagine that this could be over a trillion dollar business.”
Jassy’s forecast is a big jump from seven months ago. In March, Jassy told employees that AWS had a chance to reach at least $600 billion in annual revenue within about a decade, double his earlier expectation, according to Reuters.
Amazon’s stores business is already larger. Sales from Amazon’s online and physical stores totaled $309 billion over the past 12 months, or about $575 billion if Jassy is including third-party seller services and advertising in his trillion-dollar projection. We’ve asked Amazon to clarify.
For comparison, Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, had $713 billion in revenue in its most recent fiscal year.
Whichever numbers he’s using, Jassy said “some folks are sleeping a bit” on how much progress the stores business has made.
Jassy argued that Amazon’s stores business is gaining ground on competitors. Amazon added more than $90 billion in gross sales over the past 12 months, he said, and is adding about twice as much per quarter as its next-largest U.S. competitor.
Units sold are up nearly 15% so far this year, Jassy said. He noted that nearly 80% of retail sales still happen in physical stores, which he expects to shift online over time.
The bold prediction came on a rough day for the company. Amazon shares fell about 6% in after-hours trading after its profit fell short of Wall Street’s expectations.
It’s not going to be cheap to get there. Amazon expects to spend about $220 billion on capital projects this year, mostly for AWS, and Jassy said the company will spend “meaningfully more” in 2027. He said Amazon has “a clear line of sight to attractive financial returns” and is earning back its capital spending faster than before.
The impact is showing up in Amazon’s finances. Its free cash flow, the cash left over after capital spending, was negative $42.4 billion over the past 12 months, compared with positive $14.8 billion a year earlier.
With its spending running ahead of the cash its businesses bring in, Amazon has raised $115 billion through long-term debt this year. Its interest expense more than tripled in the third quarter to $1.7 billion, cutting into its profit.
“We’re in the very early days of this inflection,” Jassy said. “Our strategy is working, and I expect it will for the foreseeable future.”
Microsoft Corporation remains a Buy, supported by prudent AI investments, robust cash flow, and a AAA balance sheet. Q1 2027 saw 19% revenue growth to $92.3B and 18% EPS growth to $4.89, despite a 27% drop in free cash flow. MSFT's AI-driven growth is resilient, but elevated rates and potential private-credit stress could constrain future AI funding and data center utilization.

Microsoft on Thursday announced plans to raise $25 billion in bonds, taking advantage of its healthy credit rating to support its infrastructure expansion.
The software maker holds a top-tier AAA rating with S&P, a credit agency. Management is targeting $170 billion in 2026 capital expenditures, as the company looks to meet heavy demand from artificial intelligence labs Anthropic and OpenAI, as well as other clients.
"Microsoft intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include, among other things, funding for working capital, capital expenditures, repurchases of capital stock, acquisitions, and repayment of existing debt," according to a statement. The offerings should close on Nov. 4, the company said.
Amazon and Alphabet have engaged the bond market to support infrastructure projects this year, and AI-focused cloud CoreWeave has also relied on the debt market to broaden its data center footprint. Investors have turned more skittish on companies with tall debt piles as central bankers raise interest rates to fight inflation.
Microsoft will access additional funding sources to complement its own cash flow generation when conditions are attractive, Amy Hood, its finance chief, said on the company's earnings call on Wednesday.
"There's a form of financing called leasing, and we've been using that one as a vehicle," she said. "We're fortunate to have access in the debt markets, given where our ratings are, and we haven't yet tapped that."
Microsoft reported positive free cash flow on Wednesday, differentiating itself from Alphabet, whose cash flow was negative for the second quarter in a row. Last week Meta said it had negative free cash flow, and on Thursday Amazon reported negative free cash flow.
Also on Wednesday, Oracle unveiled plans to raise $10 billion in new debt and said it anticipates a return to positive free cash flow in the second half of its 2028 fiscal year.
