Why Jabil's Stock Jumped 14% Wednesday Morning | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Shortly after Wednesday's opening bell, shares of Jabil (JBL 0.83%) rose 14% above Tuesday's closing price. The electronics manufacturing and engineering expert published Q3 2026 results early in the morning, beating Wall Street's consensus estimates across the board.Image source: Getty Images. The numbers behind the pop Jabil's Q3 sales increased by 12% to $8.75 billion. Adjusted earnings jumped 24% to $3.16 per diluted share. Your average analyst firm would have settled for earnings near $3.08 per share on revenues in the neighborhood of $8.55 billion. Looking ahead, management set Q4 and full-year earnings guidance above current Street projections. Five of Jabil's seven sub-segments are delivering double-digit percentage growth in 2026, led by an estimated 47% surge in cloud and data center infrastructure. Within this division, CFO Greg Hebard highlighted strong demand for networking products, especially in India's booming market. Today's Change ( -0.83 %) $ -3.10 Current Price $ 371.88 The land-and-expand playbook Jabil expects the AI-focused data center orders to continue rising at a similar pace in 2027. The company is building additional manufacturing facilities to meet the surge in incoming orders. Management targets a 10% capacity increase over the next year. And the company is building its order book by boosting its importance to each new customer over time. "We enable customers to scale AI much faster by delivering fully integrated systems across compute, storage, networking, power, advanced cooling," said CEO Mike Dastoor. "We often go in through one channel or one capability and expand the relationship by offering other end-to-end solutions to customers. We actually won our second hyperscaler in exactly that way, and we're actually winning our third hyperscaler, and the strategy will be exactly the same." Jabil's stock has approximately doubled over the last 52 weeks, amid a steady rhythm of beat-and-raise reports. The future still looks bright, too. Landing one hyperscaler is a win. Landing three using the same playbook suggests Jabil has figured out a repeatable formula for sustained growth in the AI infrastructure boom. Jabil (JBL) Q3 Results Exceed Expectations, Strong Q4 Guidance Boosts Stock | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Jabil JBL shares are surging after the company reported a strong Q3 performance and provided optimistic Q4 guidance, highlighting robust demand for AI infrastructure. The results exceeded management's expectations across several key metrics, reinforcing confidence in the company's growth trajectory.Q3 Results: Revenue rose to $8.75 billion from $7.83 billion year-over-year, surpassing the FactSet consensus of $8.61 billion. Core EPS increased to $3.16 from $2.55, exceeding the $3.10 estimate, while GAAP EPS stood at $2.59. Q4 Guidance: JBL forecasts revenue between $9.2 billion and $10.0 billion, with core EPS expected in the range of $3.80 to $4.20. This guidance is well above the FactSet consensus of $8.97 billion and $3.72, and indicates core operating income of $589 million to $649 million. AI Demand: Management reported that demand for AI infrastructure remains robust, fueling growth across various sectors, including cloud services, data centers, networking, and capital equipment. This diverse demand base suggests JBL is benefiting from multiple facets of the AI infrastructure expansion. Portfolio Recovery: The quarter also demonstrated strong performance in Automotive and Connected Living, indicating a recovery in areas previously under pressure, which reduces reliance on AI-led growth. Margins and Cash Flow: Core operating income climbed to $504 million, resulting in a core operating margin of approximately 5.8%. Adjusted free cash flow for the first nine months reached $991 million, reflecting effective cash generation alongside revenue growth. The key takeaway from JBL's report is the evidence that its AI infrastructure opportunity is evolving into a broader operational success. The Q4 guidance serves as a significant catalyst, suggesting an increase in revenue and core operating income. Investors are likely reassured by the positive trends in Automotive and Connected Living, which were previously struggling. The focus now shifts to sustainability: whether demand in liquid cooling, data center power, and networking can continue to grow while enhancing margin mix. Sentiment is expected to remain positive if JBL balances AI-driven growth with cash generation and a recovery in non-AI sectors. However, any delays, component shortages, or renewed cyclical challenges could impact this outlook. Jabil CEO Says AI Infrastructure Demand Remains 'Extremely Strong' | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The company reported adjusted earnings of $3.16 per share, topping the analyst consensus estimate of $3.10. Revenue increased 12% year over year to $8.75 billion, exceeding analysts’ expectations of $8.61 billion. Cash and cash equivalents totaled $1.36 billion as of May 31.Segment PerformanceRevenue from the Regulated Industries segment increased 4% from a year earlier, while Intelligent Infrastructure revenue climbed 21%. Connected Living & Digital Commerce revenue rose 5%. Core EBITDA increased to $654 million from $571 million in the prior-year quarter. AI Demand Fuels GrowthChief Executive Officer Mike Dastoor said demand for AI infrastructure remains “extremely strong,” prompting the company to raise its fiscal 2026 outlook. Jabil now expects AI-related revenue of about $13.6 billion in fiscal 2026, up $500 million from its March forecast and higher than the $9 billion reported in fiscal 2025. Dastoor said the company’s end-to-end manufacturing capabilities allow customers to scale AI deployments by integrating compute, storage, networking, power, advanced cooling and full system assembly. He added that Jabil recently secured its third hyperscale customer. The engagement is expected to generate a few hundred million dollars in revenue during fiscal 2027 before growing into a billion-dollar opportunity or more in fiscal 2028. Capacity Expansion ContinuesChief Financial Officer Greg Hebard said Jabil is expanding its global manufacturing footprint by about 10% through new facilities and site expansions. He said the company expects to support similar AI revenue growth in fiscal 2027 while keeping capital expenditures within its long-term target range of 1.5% to 2% of revenue. Dastoor said new capacity is coming online in North Carolina, Memphis, India, Mexico and other locations. He added that the North Carolina facility remains on schedule, with one customer already committed and additional customer discussions underway. The site is expected to begin ramping production by January. India Partnership And Storage Demand Offer UpsideDastoor said Jabil’s proposed alliance with Adani Enterprises could establish a significant AI infrastructure manufacturing platform in India, although the companies have not finalized an agreement. He said meaningful contributions are more likely to begin in fiscal 2028. He also said the Hanley acquisition is performing better than expected and strengthening Jabil’s capabilities in power equipment, energy systems and services. In addition, storage demand tied to the company’s second hyperscale customer continues to accelerate. OutlookFor the fiscal fourth quarter, Jabil expects revenue of $9.20 billion to $10.00 billion, above the analyst consensus estimate of $8.97 billion. The company forecasts adjusted earnings of $3.80 to $4.20 per share, compared with analysts’ expectations of $3.72. For fiscal 2026, Jabil raised its revenue outlook to $35.00 billion from its previous forecast of $34.00 billion, ahead of the analyst consensus estimate of $34.24 billion. The company also increased its adjusted earnings outlook to $12.70 per share from $12.25, topping the consensus estimate of $12.38. JBL Price Action: Jabil shares were up 4.27% at $391.55 at the time of publication on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data. Jabil (JBL) Surges After Delivering AI-Fueled Earnings Beat | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Manufacturing-solutions giant Jabil added another clean beat to an already exceptional fiscal year. The St. Petersburg-based company posted fiscal third-quarter adjusted EPS of $3.16, topping the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.12 and climbing sharply from $2.55 a year ago, while revenue of $8.75 billion surpassed the consensus by 1.39% and rose from $7.83 billion. That works out to an earnings surprise of +1.28% and a revenue surprise of +1.39%, with Jabil now having beaten consensus EPS and revenue estimates in each of the last four quarters. The print was good enough to send shares nearly 10% higher in early trading Wednesday morning, tacking on to the extraordinary 65% year-to-date run in the stock ahead of the print. Image Source: StockCharts Digging Deeper into Jabil’s Quarterly PerformanceThe story underneath the headline is the same one that has driven Jabil’s re-rating all year: artificial intelligence. CEO Mike Dastoor was unambiguous, noting that AI infrastructure demand remains extremely strong and that the company’s full-year AI-related revenue outlook is now meaningfully higher. Jabil’s Intelligent Infrastructure segment — which spans cloud and data-center hardware, networking and communications, and capital equipment — has become the centerpiece of the investment thesis, and management’s commentary suggests that engine is still accelerating. What’s encouraging for the durability of the story is that the strength is broadening: Dastoor flagged better-than-expected performance in areas that had previously been under pressure, particularly Automotive and Connected Living. A business firing on its AI cylinders while its cyclical end markets quietly recover is a healthier setup than one leaning entirely on a single theme. Crucially, this was not just a revenue story — the quality of earnings improved alongside the top line. Core operating income rose to $504 million from $420 million a year ago, and GAAP operating income reached $445 million. Additionally, margins are expanding even as Jabil scales, a reflection of the multi-year repositioning toward higher-value engineering and supply-chain offerings and away from the lower-margin, commoditized work that once defined the contract-manufacturing model. The guidance raise is the part that should command the most attention, and it’s where Jabil distinguished itself. Management lifted its full-year fiscal 2026 outlook to roughly $35 billion in revenue, a 5.8% core operating margin, core EPS of $12.70, and adjusted free cash flow of more than $1.4 billion. The fourth-quarter framework is even more telling: Jabil guided to revenue of $9.2 billion to $10.0 billion and core EPS of $3.80 to $4.20, a meaningful step up from the $3.16 just delivered. That implied sequential acceleration into the typically strong fiscal fourth quarter signals genuine momentum rather than a company simply clearing a low bar — and notably, management volunteered that it feels “very good about the setup for fiscal 2027,” an early tell that the AI capital-spending cycle still has runway. The Zacks RundownFrom our perspective, the setup remains constructive. Jabil carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), reflecting a favorable earnings-estimate revision trend heading into the print, and sits within the Electronics – Manufacturing Services industry, which ranks in the top 28% of more than 250 Zacks industries. That’s a meaningful tailwind, since stocks in the top half of Zacks Ranked Industries have historically outperformed those in the bottom half by a factor of more than two to one. The current consensus calls for $3.70 in EPS on $8.98 billion of revenue next quarter and $12.36 for the full fiscal year — figures that look likely to drift higher now that management’s own full-year EPS guide of $12.70 sits above the Street. Upward estimate revisions in the days ahead would be the natural next step, and they are the lifeblood of the Zacks Rank. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The read-through to the broader electronics manufacturing and supply-chain space is meaningful, because Jabil is one of the cleanest public proxies for physical AI infrastructure buildout. Its results corroborate the capital-spending signals coming from the hyperscalers and from peers across the contract-manufacturing and components landscape — the demand for servers, networking gear, power, and cooling that turns AI ambition into deployed hardware is not slowing. For competitors and the entire components ecosystem, Jabil’s raised AI outlook is both a positive industry tailwind and a reminder that scale, diversification, and engineering capability increasingly separate the winners from the commoditized. The diversified model Dastoor keeps emphasizing is precisely what lets Jabil capture AI upside. Bottom LineThis was another high-quality quarter from a company that has earned its premium through consistent execution, margin expansion, and disciplined capital returns. The positive market reaction is best read as a verdict on the business: a solid beat-and-raise likely signals more gains ahead. For long-term investors, the combination of a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), a top-tier industry, accelerating AI demand, and a guidance raise that now sits above consensus keeps the fundamental story firmly intact. Jabil (JBL - Free Report) remains one of the better-positioned names in the picks-and-shovels layer of the AI trade. Disclosure: JBL is a current holding in the Zacks Headline Trader portfolio. |

Jabil tops fiscal Q3 earnings estimates, raises full-year outlook | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Jabil Inc (NYSE:JBL) shares moved higher after the electronics manufacturing services company reported fiscal third quarter financial results that exceeded Wall Street estimates and raised its full-year guidance. For the quarter, the electronics and manufacturing services company posted net revenue of $8.8 billion, outpacing analyst expectations of $8.55 billion. Jabil reported core diluted earnings per share of $3.16, beating the consensus estimate of $3.08 per share. The quarterly outperformance was driven primarily by sustained momentum in technology sectors alongside stabilization in segments that had previously faced headwinds. Jabil CEO Mike Dastoor noted that artificial intelligence infrastructure demand remains extremely strong, prompting a meaningful increase to the company's full-year AI-related revenue outlook. “AI infrastructure demand remains extremely strong, and our full-year AI-related revenue outlook is now meaningfully higher,” Dastoor said. “At the same time, we continued to see better-than-expected performance in areas of the portfolio that had previously been under pressure, particularly in Automotive and Connected Living.” Citing this robust demand and broad portfolio improvement, Jabil raised its full-year guidance for fiscal year 2026. The company now expects net revenue of $35 billion, a non-GAAP core operating margin of 5.8%, and core diluted earnings per share of $12.70. Adjusted free cash flow for the full year is now projected to exceed $1.4 billion. For the upcoming fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, Jabil issued guidance projecting net revenue between $9.2 billion and $10.0 billion. Core diluted earnings per share for the fourth quarter are estimated to fall within the range of $3.80 to $4.20, while GAAP diluted earnings are expected between $3.24 and $3.64 per share. Management indicated that the current momentum provides a favorable baseline as the company looks ahead toward the setup for fiscal year 2027. Shares of Jabil added 2% at about $382 on Wednesday afternoon, paring gains of as much as 14% earlier in the session. |

Jabil Q3 Earnings Call Highlights AI Growth and Margin Path | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways JBL raised its fiscal 2026 outlook after Q3 revenues rose 12% and core EPS increased to $3.16.Jabil expects AI-related revenues to hit about $13.6B in 2026, up from $9B in fiscal 2025.JBL is adding capacity in North Carolina, Memphis and India while keeping capex at 1.5%-2% of revenues. Jabil Inc. (JBL - Free Report) used its third-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings call to press a more ambitious AI growth case, while also lifting its full-year outlook. Management’s message centered less on the quarter’s beat and more on how capacity, customer wins and mix could drive the next leg of expansion. The setup for fiscal 2027 was the clearest takeaway. Executives pointed to another year of AI-led growth, rising margins and disciplined capital spending, even as they acknowledged supply chain constraints and plant ramps still need to be managed carefully. JBL Leans Harder Into AI DemandChief financial officer Gregory Hebard said third-quarter revenues rose to about $8.75 billion, up 12% year over year, while core earnings per share climbed to $3.16 from $2.55 a year earlier. Those results came in above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $8.63 billion for revenues and $3.12 for EPS, reflecting a surprise of 1.4% and 1.3%, respectively. Hebard stressed that the upside was broad-based across revenues, margin and free cash flow, rather than driven by one isolated pocket of strength. Core operating margin reached 5.8% in the quarter, with Intelligent Infrastructure standing out at 6.1%. Chief executive officer Mike Dastoor built on that point, saying AI infrastructure demand remained extremely strong and that Jabil’s full-year AI-related revenue outlook is now materially above where management stood 90 days earlier. Jabil Raises 2026 Targets AgainThe company raised its fiscal 2026 outlook to about $35 billion in revenues, roughly 5.8% core operating margin, about $12.7 in core EPS and more than $1.4 billion in adjusted free cash flow. That compares with the prior view for $34 billion in revenues and more than $1.3 billion in free cash flow. For the fourth quarter, Hebard guided for revenues of $9.2-$10 billion and core EPS of $3.8-$4.2, with core operating margin around 6.4% at the midpoint. Management tied that outlook to continued AI program strength, customer ramp timing and improving conditions in automotive and some consumer-linked areas. The message was not simply that estimates moved up. Jabil believes its diversified model is now producing faster growth, a better mix and stronger cash generation at the same time. JBL Sees AI Growth Carrying Into 2027Dastoor’s most important forward-looking statement was that AI-related revenues should grow in fiscal 2027 at a percentage rate similar to fiscal 2026, but off a much larger base. AI-related revenues are now expected to reach about $13.6 billion this year, up from $9 billion in fiscal 2025. He also said Jabil won a third hyperscale customer in the third quarter. In Q&A, Dastoor told a Goldman Sachs analyst that the new hyperscaler could contribute a few hundred million dollars in fiscal 2027 and scale to $1 billion and beyond in fiscal 2028. That early 2027 signal came with limits. Dastoor cautioned that final full-year guidance will depend on component availability, mix, ramp timing, free cash flow priorities and portfolio choices, with fuller numbers coming at Jabil’s September investor briefing. Jabil Expands Capacity Without Chasing an OEM ModelA JPMorgan analyst pressed management on the sharp step-up implied in fourth-quarter Intelligent Infrastructure revenues. Dastoor said about a couple hundred million dollars of finished goods slipped from the third quarter into the fourth quarter, while another roughly $300 million of upside is spread across the business rather than tied only to the third hyperscaler. Capacity was another focal point. Hebard said Jabil is adding roughly 10% to its global footprint and still expects total capital spending to remain within 1.5% to 2% of revenues, reinforcing management’s asset-light framing. Dastoor said new capacity is coming online in North Carolina, Memphis, India and other locations, with North Carolina expected to ramp through early calendar 2027. He also framed the proposed Adani partnership in India as a longer-term fiscal 2028 opportunity tied to AI racks, servers, networking and power infrastructure. JBL Uses Q&A to Defend MarginsQuestions from Fox Advisors and Stifel centered on whether new plants and customer ramps could dilute profitability. Dastoor acknowledged some temporary ramp inefficiencies but said the mix is improving, utilization should rise through fiscal 2027, and higher-value offerings such as power, liquid cooling and silicon photonics are helping the margin profile. He went further in Q&A than in the prepared remarks, saying he is confident Jabil can move to 6%-plus core operating margin in fiscal 2027. Hebard added that fourth-quarter seasonality tends to make the fourth quarter the strongest margin period, so investors should not read that run rate as the full shape of next year. A Barclays analyst also asked about supply chain risk. Dastoor said shortages remain a factor in areas such as high-bandwidth memory and certain interconnect components, but he indicated those constraints are already reflected in management’s thinking for fiscal 2027. Jabil Leaves Investors With a Growth BlueprintComing out of the call, management’s tone was confident but measured. The company highlighted strong AI demand, improving performance in automotive and Connected Living, and a model that it believes can support faster growth without a sharp jump in capital intensity. The bigger point was strategic. Dastoor repeatedly framed Jabil as expanding through capabilities across compute, storage, networking, power and cooling, rather than moving toward a product-heavy OEM structure. That posture shaped both the fiscal 2027 commentary and the way management discussed new hyperscaler and India opportunities. JBL’s Zacks Signals Still Favor the Bull CaseJBL currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), along with a Value Score of C, Growth Score of B, Momentum Score of A and VGM Score of A. A Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) or 2 stock paired with a Style Score of A or B offers the strongest near-term performance profile, while the VGM Score reflects a blended view of value, growth and momentum traits. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank stocks here. That combination suggests JBL’s strongest signal comes from momentum and its all-around VGM profile rather than pure value. Even so, the Zacks Rank can change as earnings estimate revisions adjust after the quarter, so the current setup is best viewed as a favorable but still fluid signal. |

Jabil NYSE: JBL is perfectly positioned for the AI supercycle, and its stock price looks poised to continue rising for years. The thesis begins with Jabil’s position as a manufacturing specialist for mega tech companies. It designs, builds, and manages complex hardware manufacturing supply chains across industries, providing infrastructure, engineering, and logistics. The thesis is strengthened by catalysts such as AI, U.S. expansion, client utility, and the AI virtuous cycle.Jabil Today $371.04 -0.84 (-0.23%) As of 06/18/2026 03:59 PM Eastern This is a fair market value price provided by Massive. Get Jabil alerts: Client utility is evident in its services and footprint, which includes more than 100 facilities in over 25 countries, enabling highly localized and resilient supply chain solutions. Finally, there is the AI virtuous cycle. A virtuous cycle is when the output of new technology leads to improvements throughout the system and technological advancement. As it stands, Jabil is implementing AI and automation throughout its operations, increasing efficiency and capabilities and advancing technology. Jabil Sends Signal: Outperformance in Q1 and Robust GuidanceJabil had a solid fiscal Q3, with revenue growing nearly 12% to $8.8 billion, topping consensus estimates of $8.61 billion. Growth was underpinned by datacenter and AI strength, which management says improved meaningfully, as well as by improvements in other previously underperforming segments, such as Automotive and Connected Living. Margin news was also bullish. The company widened gross and net margins despite input cost pressures and increased R&D. Net margin rose to 3.1% and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $3.16, up 24% from last year and 6 cents better than expected. Free cash flow was also solid, up abour 22% year-to-date (YTD) and sufficient to support aggressive share repurchases. The best news in the fiscal Q3 release was the guifdance, which indicated that strength would persist into the subsequent fiscal year. Executives set aggressive targets for fiscal Q4, well above the consensus, and lifted their forecast for the year. As it stands, revenue is forecast at $35 billion, up more than 15% year-over-year and 200 bps above MarketBeat’s reported consensus, with execs “feeling good” about the setup for next year. Jabil’s Capital Return Keeps Institutions and Analysts InterestedJabil’s free cash flow is a significant factor as it enables aggressive share buybacks. The company targets using 80% of free cash flow for buybacks, which has amounted to over $800 million so far during its fiscal year, The trailing 12-month (TTM) activity reduced the count by 2.55% on average for the quarter and 3.85% for the YTD period, providing significant leverage for investors. The only downside is that aggressive buyback activity is reflected on the balance sheet, revealing diminished cash and reduced equity at Q3’s end. The offset, however, is that investments, contract assets, and receivables all increased, indicating Q3’s cash reduction is no problem for shareholders. Jabil’s analyst trends reveal a triple-strength sentiment tailwind is in place, including increased coverage, firming sentiment with an 82% Buy-side bias, and an uptrend in price targets. While consensus lags the market as of mid-June 2026, it is up more than 100% on a TTM basis, with recent targets pushing the high end. It stands at around $430, implying a more than 15% upside. Institutional activity is likewise bullish. They own more than 90% of the stock and have been accumulating shares. The TTM balance is approximately $ 1.50 to $1 and may strengthen as the fiscal year-end approaches. Jabil Pulls Back: Buy the Dip?Jabil’s stock price action surged ahead of the release, indicating an optimistic market anticipating strength. The caveat is that JBL’s price action peaked and may continue to pull back in June. Expected strength amounts to a sell-the-news event, and it will be several more weeks until Jabil’s leading clients begin reporting. The likely outcome is that subsequent reports from Jabil and its clientele will affirm the robust outlook and trigger a trend-following signal in this market. Support targets include $370 and $355, either of which may trigger the signal. Jabil’s biggest risk this year is its valuation. Trading at over 30x, JBL is at historically high levels, pricing in solid growth. This leaves the company open to executional risk as production ramps up and to stock price volatility. Any delays, missteps, or changes to fundamental outlook will be reflected in the stock's price. Additionally, a sluggish recovery in legacy markets may offset AI strengths. Can onsemi's Treo Platform Unlock New Automotive Opportunities? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways ON's Treo revenues rose more than 2.5 times sequentially amid adoption across key markets.ON began Treo-based Ethernet shipments for a North American automaker's zonal platform.onsemi said Treo products carry 60-70% gross margins, above its current company profile. onsemi's (ON - Free Report) Treo platform is gaining momentum as automakers transition toward software-defined vehicles, creating a significant opportunity for it to expand automotive footprint. During the first-quarter 2026 earnings call, management highlighted strong adoption of Treo across automotive, industrial and AI applications, with platform revenues rising more than 2.5 times sequentially.A major catalyst is the industry's shift to zonal vehicle architectures, which require faster communication, simplified wiring and centralized computing. onsemi recently began production shipments of its Treo-based 10BASE-T1S Ethernet solutions for a leading North American automaker's next-generation zonal platform. The design incorporates more than 30 Treo devices, enabling efficient in-zone connectivity and supporting the move toward software-defined vehicles. The platform's opportunity extends beyond networking. Management noted growing design activity in ADAS park-assist systems using ultrasonic sensing, SmartFET-enabled zonal architectures and other automotive applications. These solutions help automakers reduce complexity while accelerating vehicle development cycles. Treo is expected to contribute not only to revenue growth but also to profitability. Management indicated that Treo products carry gross margins in the 60-70% range, significantly above the company's current corporate margin profile. As adoption increases through 2026 and beyond, Treo could become a meaningful contributor to both top-line expansion and margin improvement. With automakers embracing connected, software-centric vehicle platforms, Treo appears well positioned to help onsemi capture higher semiconductor content per vehicle and strengthen its long-term automotive growth story. How Do Rivals Compare in the Software-Defined Vehicle Race?onsemi faces strong competition from NXP Semiconductors (NXPI - Free Report) and Texas Instruments (TXN - Free Report) as automakers accelerate the adoption of software-defined vehicles and zonal architectures. NXP Semiconductors is a leading automotive chip supplier with a broad portfolio spanning automotive Ethernet, vehicle networking, microcontrollers and domain controllers. The company is deeply involved in enabling centralized vehicle computing and high-speed in-vehicle communications, making it a direct competitor to onsemi's Treo-based connectivity solutions. Texas Instruments is another major player, offering automotive processors, connectivity chips, power-management devices and sensing technologies used in ADAS and next-generation vehicle platforms. TXN’s extensive analog and embedded processing expertise positions it well to benefit from the increasing semiconductor content in modern vehicles. While NXP Semiconductors and Texas Instruments possess strong automotive ecosystems, onsemi aims to differentiate itself through the Treo platform, which combines connectivity, power management and sensing capabilities on a scalable mixed-signal platform. As automakers migrate toward zonal architectures and software-defined vehicles, Treo's integrated approach could help onsemi win additional programs, increase semiconductor content per vehicle and support long-term automotive growth. ON’s Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesShares of onsemi surged 108.5% year to date compared with the industry’s 63.2% rise. ON’s YTD Price Performance Image Source: Zacks Investment Research From a valuation standpoint, ON trades at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 30.72, a discount to the industry’s average of 33.42. RebuilderAI Unveils ‘Brand-Exclusive 3D CAD Design-Generation AI' at VivaTech 2026, Recreating Heritage with a Humanoid | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
SEOUL, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RebuilderAI, a company specialising in AI-driven design-to-manufacturing automation, has unveiled its design-to-manufacturing AI agent, VRING:ON, at VivaTech 2026, the global startup and technology fair held in Paris from 17 to 20 June. On the opening day, 17 June, the company drew attention with a stage performance featuring a humanoid robot dressed in an artisan’s design that VRING:ON had recreated from a heritage brand’s archived data.VRING:ON is an AI agent that automates the core stages of product development, from design concept through 3D modelling to the generation of CAD and engineering data. Share VRING:ON is an AI agent that automates the core stages of product development, from design concept through 3D modelling to the generation of CAD and engineering data. It is particularly strong with 3D-based hardline products such as eyewear, footwear and jewelry. Rather than merely generating images, it carries an AI-created design seamlessly through 3D modelling, CAD design, mouldability validation and simulation into manufacturing-ready data, producing results that can actually be made. What sets RebuilderAI apart is its brand-exclusive model architecture. Unlike general-purpose web services that return the same output to anyone, RebuilderAI provides a dedicated AI model tuned to each company’s own data. Its 3D foundation model is trained not only on a brand’s style, materials, production conditions and manufacturing know-how, but also on the archive and heritage it has built over time. Both the training data and the outputs remain the property of that brand. Another key strength is its feedback loop: users can create new agents and continuously refine them through feedback, building a design-assistant AI tailored to their specific needs. “We tune our AI model to each individual brand to protect the security of that brand’s data and to preserve the distinctiveness of its style,” Jeonghyeon Kim, RebuilderAI CEO said. “With ISO international-standard certification, we provide a stable, enterprise-grade AI model tailored to each company.” RebuilderAI is also expanding its international commercial footprint. The company has secured investment from Korea’s Naver and Japan’s ASICS Ventures, among others, has joined a Samsung accelerator programme, and has been selected for NVIDIA’s Inception programme, recognition of its 3D engineering capabilities. Following its participation at VivaTech, RebuilderAI plans to move actively into the European market, supported by a local sales team based in Paris. |

RebuilderAI Debuts Design-to-Manufacturing AI Agent VRING:ON at VivaTech 2026, Unveiling Humanoid-Powered ‘Dark Factory' Vision | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
- The Seoul-based startup is pitching brands a private, made-to-order design AI, and a longer-term plan to let humanoid robots build what it designs.SEOUL, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RebuilderAI, a company specializing in AI-driven design-to-manufacturing automation, unveiled its design-to-manufacturing AI agent, VRING:ON, at VivaTech 2026, the global startup and tech conference held in Paris from June 17 to 20. Alongside technology that turns AI-generated designs into real manufacturing data, the company laid out a bolder ambition: a humanoid-powered, AI-run “dark factory.” RebuilderAI delivers a dedicated model tuned to each company’s own data, including its style, materials, production conditions, and manufacturing know-how, and both the training data and the outputs stay with the brand. Share VRING:ON automates the core stages of product development, from design concept through 3D modeling to CAD and engineering data, and is especially strong with 3D-based hardline goods such as eyewear, footwear, and jewelry. Rather than just generating images, it carries an AI-created design through 3D modeling, CAD, moldability checks, and simulation into manufacturing-ready data, producing results that can actually be made. What sets RebuilderAI apart is that its models are brand-exclusive. Unlike general-purpose web tools that hand everyone the same output, RebuilderAI delivers a dedicated model tuned to each company’s own data, including its style, materials, production conditions, and manufacturing know-how, and both the training data and the outputs stay with the brand. A built-in feedback loop lets users spin up new agents and refine them over time, continually sharpening a design assistant of their own. “We tune the model to each brand to protect that brand’s data and preserve the distinctiveness of its style,” Jeonghyeon Kim from RebuilderAI CEO said. “With ISO certification, we deliver a stable, enterprise-grade model for every client.” The startup has drawn investment from Korea’s Naver and Japan’s ASICS Ventures, completed a Samsung accelerator program, and joined NVIDIA’s Inception program. At VivaTech, it also showcased its work with ASICS, detailing how the global sports brand is putting RebuilderAI’s software to use in real product development. RebuilderAI doesn’t stop at software. The company is developing AI that extracts motion data from a product’s 3D files to generate the manufacturing paths and movements a humanoid robot needs to build that product as designed. The goal is a pipeline that automates manufacturing, not just design. Starting with footwear, RebuilderAI aims to prove out a “dark factory” that both designs and makes products with AI, then expand category by category. |

3 Stocks to Buy Now Before Wall Street Catches On | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The AI infrastructure trade has broadened. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA | NVDA Price Prediction) still owns the headline, but the second-derivative names that supply connectivity, power, and custom silicon to hyperscalers are where the cleaner setups now sit. Three semiconductor stocks fit that thesis heading into the back half of 2026: each delivered a Q1 2026 beat with raised or strong forward guidance, each carries data-center exposure that the sell side may still be underwriting too conservatively, and each is still early enough in retail discovery that the institutional bid is doing the heavy lifting. Here are three to keep on the radar in June. Astera Labs (ALAB) Astera Labs (NASDAQ:ALAB) designs connectivity silicon that solves integration bottlenecks inside AI racks, the plumbing between GPUs, CPUs, and memory. Motley Fool flagged the name in May 2026 as an overlooked AI infrastructure play. The fundamentals justify the attention. Q1 FY26 revenue hit $308.36 million, up 93% year over year, beating consensus of $292.32 million by 5%. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.61 versus the $0.54 estimate, the fourth straight EPS beat. GAAP gross margin expanded to 76%, and operating cash flow surged 610% year over year to $74.6 million. Management guided Q2 revenue to $355 million to $365 million. CEO Jitendra Mohan tied the quarter to product cycle, saying “revenue growing by 14% sequentially and 93% year-over-year to a record level of $308.4 million, driven by robust demand for our PCIe 6 portfolio.” The bull case sits with the Scorpio X-Series 320-lane Smart Fabric Switch, which targets a $20 billion merchant scale-up market by 2030 with production ramping in the second half of 2026. One catalyst is already priced in: shares are up 134% year to date and 334% over the past year, helped by NASDAQ-100 index inclusion. Retail discovery is still concentrated: Reddit qualified mentions remain at 1 to 3 per snapshot, with discussion dominated by r/wallstreetbets. Risk: Hyperscaler concentration and gross margin compression to roughly 73% in Q2 as newer switch products dilute mix. After a parabolic run, the bar for any disappointment is high. ON Semiconductor (ON) ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ:ON) is the most contrarian name in this group. The auto and industrial overhang dominated the 2025 narrative, masking what is now a credible AI power story. Shares jumped roughly 11% on the day of the Motley Fool article in May 2026 that flagged ON as an under-the-radar AI name. Q1 FY26 revenue was $1.513 billion, up 5% year over year and beating the $1.49 billion consensus. Non-GAAP EPS came in at 64 cents against a 62-cent estimate, with non-GAAP gross margin recovering to 39% from 20% a year earlier. The breakout: AI data center revenue more than doubled year over year, with sequential growth exceeding 30%, and Power Solutions Group revenue rose 14% year over year to $736.6 million. CEO Hassane El-Khoury was direct: “We exceeded expectations as demand strengthened through the quarter and we have moved beyond the cyclical trough on a path to recovery. Our AI data center business accelerated, growing more than 30% sequentially.” Q2 revenue guidance of $1.535 billion to $1.635 billion reinforces the trough-recovery view. Shares are up 133% year to date off the cyclical bottom. The reset gives onsemi a credible second leg through AI power, EV silicon carbide, and 900V architectures with Geely and NIO. Risk: Q1 absorbed $329.3 million in restructuring and impairment charges, free cash flow halved to $217.2 million, and share repurchases of $345.7 million ran near 160% of free cash flow. Analog and Mixed-Signal Group revenue was still down 5% year over year. Marvell Technology (MRVL) Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) is the AI networking chip play with the most institutional momentum of the three. Q1 FY27 revenue was $2.418 billion, up 28% year over year, with data center revenue of $1.833 billion, or 76% of the total. Non-GAAP EPS was 80 cents, and free cash flow rose 127% year over year to $483.1 million. The forward guide is the story. Q2 revenue is guided to $2.700 billion plus or minus 5%, implying roughly 35% year-over-year growth. CEO Matt Murphy said: “We are seeing exceptional AI-related bookings, and as a result, we are significantly raising Marvell’s revenue outlook for both fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028.” The product breadth, 800G and 1.6T optics, 51.2T Ethernet switches, NPO and CPO scale-up optical, DCI modules, and custom XPU silicon, plus the Celestial AI and XConn Technologies acquisitions closed in February 2026, widens the moat. Reddit traders are starting to circle the name around S&P 500 inclusion on June 22, but qualified mentions are still running just one per 24-hour period. Shares are up 264% year to date. Risk: Customer concentration in data center, integration risk on Celestial AI and XConn, and a $331.8 million contingent consideration charge in the quarter. Any hyperscaler insourcing of custom silicon would hit Marvell hardest. What to watch next The setup heading into Q2 earnings reports is the same across all three: AI data center demand acceleration into a Wall Street consensus that has been chasing rather than anticipating the results. Keep an eye on the next earnings reports, hyperscaler capex revisions, and any signs of customer insourcing. The window for getting ahead of consensus narrows with each beat. |

This Company Could Become the Nvidia of AI Inference | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
It's no secret that spending related to artificial intelligence (AI) continues to exceed expectations, and based on hyperscalers' spending plans, it's likely to do so for years to come. That said, the nature of AI spending will shift, with inference spending set to surpass that for data center infrastructure in a few years. That's why a stock like power semiconductor company ON Semiconductor (ON +7.71%) is ideally placed to be a major beneficiary. Here's why. Inference spending will take over To understand why, it's important to differentiate between inference spending and data center infrastructure spending. The two are obviously linked -- you can't have one without the other -- but the reality is that infrastructure spending is booming now as hyperscalers rush to build it to support growth in the future. You can think of this spending as AI's capital budget for building data centers and training models. In comparison, inference spending (running AI models for real-world use) can be considered an ongoing operating cost. After the infrastructure is initially built out, inference will likely account for the majority of spending, above that for maintenance and growth. Today's Change ( 7.71 %) $ 8.70 Current Price $ 121.62 But inference spending is power hungry, needs thermal management, and will inevitably scale up over time. That's great news for power semiconductor companies, including Nvidia partner ON Semiconductor. To be clear, the company benefits from expenditures on data center infrastructure and inference, but it's the latter that will really drive its long-term profits. ON Semiconductor is ideally placed The company is best known for its power and sensing chips for the electric vehicle (EV) and industrial markets. They are attractive enough in their own right. And I selected the company as my top stock to buy for 2026 on the basis that its EV market would pass a point of inflection while its industrial end markets are also slowly improving. Those things happened, and the company is back on the growth track now. However, its fast-growing data center revenue (up 30% in the first quarter, and equivalent to $250 million on $6 billion in sales in 2025) could be the key to the next stage of the company's multiyear expansion. It's an opportunity driven by the ability to provide power technology for both the new generation of data centers with Nvidia and diverse environments, including hyperscaler data centers, businesses, and edge inference. The latter means inference close to the data source, such as EVs and autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, healthcare diagnostics, and the like. Image source: Getty Images. Where next for ON Semiconductor While EV and industrial automation still dominate ON Semiconductor's near-term prospects, it won't take long for the growth rates the company is achieving in its data center business to make it a major driver of growth. CEO Hassane El-Khoury now expects the company's data center growth to "double year over year in 2026," implying about $500 million in revenue for 2026, compared to Wall Street expectations for $6.47 billion in revenue overall in 2026. At this rate, and assuming long-term demand for inference is coming, the market could be underestimating the stock's potential. |

Can Observability Consolidation Create a Larger Opportunity for DDOG? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Datadog's unified platform helps enterprises monitor cloud, security, data and AI workloads.DDOG is expanding across observability categories, increasing customer adoption and wallet share.DDOG is benefiting from monitoring-stack consolidation and growing demand for AI observability. Datadog’s (DDOG - Free Report) observability consolidation strategy is creating a larger growth opportunity as enterprises work to simplify increasingly complex environments spanning cloud infrastructure, applications, security tools, data platforms and AI workloads. Running multiple monitoring products often creates operational silos that complicate troubleshooting and performance optimization. Datadog's unified platform addresses this by letting customers monitor diverse workloads through a single observability layer, strengthening its strategic importance within enterprise IT.The company’s expanding product portfolio reinforces this consolidation trend. What began as an infrastructure monitoring platform now spans application performance monitoring, log management, cloud cost management, GPU monitoring, LLM observability, data observability and AI operations. As customers adopt additional modules, Datadog becomes more embedded in daily operations, increasing switching costs and expanding wallet-share, while its reach across the software lifecycle strengthens its competitive positioning. Customer adoption metrics support this trajectory. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, 56% of customers used four or more products, up from 51% a year earlier, while those using six or more products rose to 35%, and those using eight or more products increased to 20%. Total annual recurring revenues surpassed $4 billion, highlighting the traction of Datadog's multi-product expansion model. The emergence of AI workloads could further expand this opportunity as GPU monitoring and AI observability capabilities position Datadog as a critical platform for AI infrastructure oversight. DDOG raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $4.30 to $4.34 billion, indicating 25% to 27% year over year growth. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 revenues is pegged at $4.31 billion, implying 25.71% year over year growth. With enterprises continuing to consolidate fragmented monitoring stacks and AI workloads adding new demand, Datadog appears well-positioned to capture a larger and more durable share of enterprise observability spending. DDOG Faces Stiff CompetitionDatadog faces competition from Cisco Systems (CSCO - Free Report) and Dynatrace (DT - Free Report) , both of which are expanding their observability capabilities to capture a larger share of enterprise monitoring budgets. Cisco Systems continues to integrate observability across its networking, security and application performance offerings, while Dynatrace is strengthening its unified observability platform with AI-driven automation and analytics. As enterprises increasingly consolidate fragmented monitoring environments, Cisco, Dynatrace and Datadog are competing to become strategic platform providers. However, Datadog's broad product portfolio and rising multi-product adoption position it well against Cisco Systems and Dynatrace in this consolidation-driven market. DDOG’s Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesShares of Datadog have appreciated 64% year to date, outperforming the Zacks Computer and Technology sector’s return of 17.1%. DDOG Stock’s Price Performance Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Datadog is trading at a forward 12-month price-to-sales multiple of 16.88 compared with the broader sector’s multiple of 6.6, suggesting a stretched valuation. DDOG carries a Value Score of F. DDOG’s Valuation Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Zacks Consensus Estimate for DDOG’s 2026 earnings is pegged at $2.39 per share, indicating a 16.59% increase from 2025’s reported figure. Entry-Level Work Remains Essential: 94% of HR Leaders Expect AI to Create New Entry-Level Roles, Cognizant and Pearson Study Reveals | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Cognizant and Pearson joint study finds 6 in 10 HR leaders admit L&D programs are failing to keep pace as AI rapidly reshapes entry-level roles, /PRNewswire/ -- Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) and Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L) today revealed new findings from their joint study, The AI Workforce Pulse, signaling that entry-level roles are being reimagined by AI, and work is evolving faster than organizations can redesign how they hire, develop and support talent. The findings point to four interconnected shifts shaping the AI workforce ahead: Entry-Level Work Remains Essential: 94% of HR Leaders Expect AI to Create New Entry-Level Roles, Cognizant and Pearson Study Reveals Roles are Being Reinvented Entry-level roles are expected to evolve toward supervising and collaborating with AI systems rather than executing routine tasks. Nearly all (96%) HR leaders expect entry-level roles to evolve into positions where employees supervise or manage AI systems within the next five years. Nearly all HR professionals (94%) expect AI will generate new entry-level roles in the next five years that didn't exist before. More than 90% of respondents say middle managers are instrumental to redefining job roles as AI changes the day-to-day work of team members. Demand for AI Skills is Outpacing Readiness While demand for AI training is accelerating, most organizations lack the learning infrastructure to keep pace. Ninety-one percent report employee requests for AI training have increased in the past year. Yet 46% of organizations are not proactively arranging AI training. Sixty percent say their company's learning and development programs cannot keep pace with how fast AI is transforming jobs. AI is Redefining Candidate Pools As AI takes on routine work, employers are shifting hiring toward non-traditional skillsets. Nearly seven-in-10 (69%) state broad, interdisciplinary backgrounds are more important for early career talent than deep, specialized skillsets or focused degrees. Two-in-three HR professionals (67%) report they value liberal arts degrees more than they used to in light of AI advancements. Nearly all (97%) report soft skills matter more than ever, reflecting a need for adaptability, problem-solving, and human judgment. The Race for AI-Ready Talent Is Accelerating Across industries, the rapid pace of AI adoption is creating a disconnect between the skills organizations have and the skills they need, making talent strategy one of the defining challenges of the moment. Sixty-four percent of respondents believe they can't find the right talent because AI is rapidly changing what skills they need to hire for. Almost all surveyed organizations are planning to redefine job roles to reflect AI's impact on day-to-day work. Only about half (54%) proactively arrange AI upskilling training in anticipation of roles evolving. "AI is reshaping the talent landscape and exposing the limits of traditional talent and learning models," said Kathy Diaz, Chief People Officer, Cognizant. "With the fundamental shift in entry-level tasks and skill requirements changing rapidly, organizations must rethink how they hire and develop talent at pace." The new findings build on Cognizant's earlier New Work, New World 2026 study, which found that AI is already impacting 93% of jobs, underscoring the urgency for employers to prepare for changing role expectations. Cognizant sees early-career talent as increasingly important in an AI-enabled workforce. After hiring 20,000 fresh graduates in 2025, the company expects to exceed that number in 2026, reflecting its continued investment in early-career talent and skill development as work evolves. "As work evolves, the most successful organizations will focus less on replacing tasks and more on building the capabilities that help humans and AI work together. That starts with early-career talent," said Ali Bebo, Chief Human Resources Officer, Pearson. "The future belongs to organizations that combine AI innovation with a deep understanding of how people learn, develop, and apply new skills in the real world." Through their partnership, Cognizant and Pearson are working together to help recent graduates, apprentices, and mid-career professionals build skills in AI, cloud, and digital technologies. Pearson supports Cognizant's existing workforce development programs, including Synapse and its Immersive Learning Center in Chennai, to help create stronger development paths for the workforce. Methodology: Wakefield Research surveyed 750 HR professionals at the director level and above, at companies with at least 1,000 employees, across the United States, United Kingdom and India, between March 23 and April 3, 2026. Cognizant expands cross-platform agentic AI with new ServiceNow AI Agent interoperability | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
ServiceNow AI Agents now work with the Cognizant Neuro® AI Multi-Agent Accelerator, giving enterprises one place to orchestrate AI agents across the systems they run, /PRNewswire/ -- Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH) today announced that ServiceNow AI Agents now work with the Cognizant Neuro® AI Multi-Agent Accelerator, giving enterprises a unified environment to orchestrate AI agents across the platforms they already run. Enterprises can coordinate ServiceNow agents alongside custom-built systems and other third-party agent platforms. AI agents from different vendors have largely operated in isolation, each requiring its own connectors and manual coordination. The Neuro AI Multi-Agent Accelerator brings them together. ServiceNow AI Agents can now take part in broader, cross-platform workflows that Neuro AI helps coordinates automatically. "Multi-agent systems are the future of enterprise AI," said Babak Hodjat, Chief AI Officer, Cognizant. "The value is in networks of agents working together rather than any single agent, platform or vendor. By bringing ServiceNow's AI agents into the Neuro AI ecosystem, our joint customers can build end-to-end, cross-platform AI workflows that drive real business outcomes at enterprise scale." The combination pairs the reach of ServiceNow's AI agent portfolio with the orchestration capability of Neuro AI, so agents that automate work inside ServiceNow can operate as part of a larger, coordinated system. "The future of agentic AI is orchestrated, governed networks of agents working securely across the enterprise to coordinate work that once took complicated systems and manual overrides to achieve," said Amit Zavery, President, Chief Product Officer and Chief Operating Officer, ServiceNow. "By combining ServiceNow's AI agents and orchestration capabilities with Cognizant's Neuro AI Multi-Agent Accelerator, customers can connect data, AI and workflows across their business with context and control. Together, we're helping organizations simplify complexity and realize the full value of agentic AI." Industry analysts see cross-platform orchestration as a practical requirement for enterprises scaling agentic AI: "Most enterprises pursue a multi-agent AI strategy, with more than 70 percent of enterprises expecting to invest in prebuilt standalone AI agents, building custom agents and agents embedded in their existing software applications, according to IDC research," says Jason Bremner, Research Vice President, IDC.1 "As a result, enterprises are best supported by an agent orchestration framework like Cognizant's Neuro SAN AI that enables organizations to manage and orchestrate agents in one place. Cognizant's Neuro AI Multi-Agent Accelerator now allows customers to orchestrate ServiceNow agents, a big benefit given ServiceNow's popularity for managing IT and business process workflows. Customers can orchestrate ServiceNow agents through Neuro AI Multi-Agent Accelerator without costly integrations or custom connectors." For joint customers, the integration means a single orchestration layer that spans their AI agents, whether those agents live in ServiceNow, in third-party platforms or in homegrown systems. End-to-end workflows that once required significant engineering effort can be configured to run across platforms with reduced manual intervention. New ServiceNow agents can be registered in the Neuro AI ecosystem as they come online, and all agent activity continues to respect ServiceNow's existing access controls and audit logging, supporting clients' security and compliance objectives. Teams can stand up working multi-agent pipelines quickly, either by generating an agent network from a prompt for a specific use case or by drawing on Neuro AI's library of prebuilt agent networks spanning sales, finance, supply chain, customer service and more.2 The Cognizant Neuro AI Multi-Agent Accelerator is open source, designed to work with a broad range of models and hyperscalers, and is available at github.com/cognizant-ai-lab/neuro-san-studio. The 70 percent figure represents an amalgamation of three survey data points on enterprise agent adoption over the next 18 months: 77 percent plan to buy prebuilt standalone agents, 73 percent plan to build custom agents and 72 percent plan to use agent capabilities embedded in existing software. The survey allowed multiple selections. 2 The integration works through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard ServiceNow supports, so Neuro® AI can discover and invoke ServiceNow AI Agents without custom connectors. New agents are picked up automatically, and Neuro AI maps each request to the right agent in real time. The same approach extends to other third-party agent systems, with all activity operating within ServiceNow's existing access controls and audit logging. SOURCE Cognizant Technology Solutions |

Here's Why Old Dominion Freight Line Stock Slumped This Week | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Shares in Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL +1.23%) declined by 11.9% last week after a downgrade from a Citi analyst. Even though the price rose to $228 from $225, the analyst downgraded the stock to sell from neutral. The freight company is known for being a high-quality operator in the niche less-than-truckload (LTL) market in the U.S. The LTL market involves moving shipments that are too large for package delivery companies, such as UPS and FedEx, but too small to fill a trailer. It's a relatively complex operation as its trailers are often filled with shipments for multiple customers, implying sophisticated logistics and multiple network terminals. Today's Change ( 1.23 %) $ 2.68 Current Price $ 221.04 That said, it's still a market whose end demand fluctuates with freight growth. The good news is there are signs that the market is set to turn up in 2026. As previously discussed, leading industry freight data has already turned positive month over month and is likely to deliver year-over-year growth in due course. The issue, at least from the stock's perspective, is that much of the good news appears to be already priced into the sector, with Old Dominion's stock still up 41% so far this year. As such, the analyst's call appears to reflect a valuation matter rather than any view on market direction, not least because shipment data and manufacturing sentiment indices continue to show improvement. ODFL EV to EBITDA data by YCharts Where next for Old Dominion stock? The outlook is improving, but valuations look toppy, all of which suggests Old Dominion is an excellent stock to monitor with a view to buying on any extended weakness. As such, the Citi analyst downgrade may actually encourage more investors to take a look at the stock. Lee Samaha has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends Old Dominion Freight Line and United Parcel Service. The Motley Fool recommends FedEx. The Motley Fool has a disclosure policy. |

Atlassian has declined 37% since my last coverage, yet I maintain a Buy rating. I view the AI threat as overblown; TEAM leverages AI to enhance its collaborative ecosystem rather than being disrupted. |

Atlassian (TEAM) Upgraded to Strong Buy: Here's What You Should Know | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Atlassian (TEAM - Free Report) could be a solid addition to your portfolio given its recent upgrade to a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). This upgrade is essentially a reflection of an upward trend in earnings estimates -- one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices.A company's changing earnings picture is at the core of the Zacks rating. The system tracks the Zacks Consensus Estimate -- the consensus measure of EPS estimates from the sell-side analysts covering the stock -- for the current and following years. Since a changing earnings picture is a powerful factor influencing near-term stock price movements, the Zacks rating system is very useful for individual investors. They may find it difficult to make decisions based on rating upgrades by Wall Street analysts, as these are mostly driven by subjective factors that are hard to see and measure in real time. As such, the Zacks rating upgrade for Atlassian is essentially a positive comment on its earnings outlook that could have a favorable impact on its stock price. Most Powerful Force Impacting Stock PricesThe change in a company's future earnings potential, as reflected in earnings estimate revisions, has proven to be strongly correlated with the near-term price movement of its stock. That's partly because of the influence of institutional investors that use earnings and earnings estimates for calculating the fair value of a company's shares. An increase or decrease in earnings estimates in their valuation models simply results in higher or lower fair value for a stock, and institutional investors typically buy or sell it. Their transaction of large amounts of shares then leads to price movement for the stock. For Atlassian, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade fundamentally mean an improvement in the company's underlying business. And investors' appreciation of this improving business trend should push the stock higher. Harnessing the Power of Earnings Estimate RevisionsAs empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock movements, tracking such revisions for making an investment decision could be truly rewarding. Here is where the tried-and-tested Zacks Rank stock-rating system plays an important role, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The Zacks Rank stock-rating system, which uses four factors related to earnings estimates to classify stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), has an impressive externally-audited track record, with Zacks Rank #1 stocks generating an average annual return of +25% since 1988. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> . Earnings Estimate Revisions for AtlassianFor the fiscal year ending June 2026, this company is expected to earn $5.48 per share, which is unchanged compared with the year-ago reported number. Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for Atlassian. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 14620%. Bottom LineUnlike the overly optimistic Wall Street analysts whose rating systems tend to be weighted toward favorable recommendations, the Zacks rating system maintains an equal proportion of "buy" and "sell" ratings for its entire universe of more than 4,000 stocks at any point in time. Irrespective of market conditions, only the top 5% of the Zacks-covered stocks get a "Strong Buy" rating and the next 15% get a "Buy" rating. So, the placement of a stock in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks indicates its superior earnings estimate revision feature, making it a solid candidate for producing market-beating returns in the near term. You can learn more about the Zacks Rank here >>> The upgrade of Atlassian to a Zacks Rank #1 positions it in the top 5% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term. |

NIKE vs. Steven Madden: Which Stock Has an Edge in the Footwear Space? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Image: ShutterstockRead MoreHide Full Article Key Takeaways NIKE leads global athletic footwear, while Steven Madden targets fashion footwear and accessories.NKE's turnaround shows early signs, but sportswear, China, tariffs and promotions remain concerning.SHOO's revenues rose 18%, DTC surged 83.8% and 2026 estimates point to stronger growth. In the highly competitive global footwear and fashion industry, few companies illustrate contrasting paths to success better than NIKE, Inc. (NKE - Free Report) and Steve Madden Ltd. (SHOO - Free Report) . While both brands have built strong consumer followings and established recognizable identities, they operate at vastly different scales and occupy distinct positions within the market. NIKE stands as the world's largest athletic footwear and apparel company, commanding a dominant share of the global sportswear market through its innovation-driven strategy, premium branding and extensive international reach. Steve Madden, in contrast, has carved out a profitable niche in the fashion footwear segment, leveraging trend-focused designs, accessible pricing and a diversified portfolio of lifestyle brands. NIKE’s business is deeply rooted in performance athletics, apparel and direct-to-consumer retail, while Steve Madden primarily focuses on fashion footwear, accessories and licensing operations aimed at style-conscious consumers. As investors and industry observers evaluate opportunities within the footwear sector, understanding how NIKE and Steve Madden compare in terms of market share, brand strength, financial scale and strategic positioning provides valuable insight into their long-term growth prospects and ability to navigate evolving consumer trends. The Case for NKENike’s investment case rests on unmatched scale, powerful brand equity and leadership in global athletic footwear, wherein it commands an estimated mid-20% market share. Its portfolio spans Nike, Jordan, Converse and ACG, serving athletes, sneaker consumers and lifestyle shoppers across running, basketball, football, training and sportswear. Management’s turnaround is showing early proof points. Nike Running grew more than 20% in third-quarter fiscal 2026, North America returned to growth, wholesale rose 1%, and revenues of $11.28 billion and earnings per share (EPS) of 35 cents beat expectations. The company is shifting from a Nike Direct-first model to a more balanced marketplace, rebuilding wholesale partnerships, improving digital execution and leaning into innovation platforms such as Nike Mind, Liquid Air Max and Aero-FIT. However, key headwinds remain centered on NIKE’s turnaround execution. Sportswear remains weak, China is under pressure, EMEA is promotional, and tariffs hurt North America's gross margin. Key headwinds remain centered on NIKE’s turnaround execution. Sportswear is still declining in the double digits, digital remains highly promotional, sell-through is below plan, and EMEA faces elevated inventory and markdown pressure. Greater China is another major drag, with NIKE intentionally reducing sell-in to clean up channels and restore full-price demand. Tariffs remain a marginal burden, cutting North America's gross margin by roughly 300 basis points (bps) in third-quarter fiscal 2026. These pressures make the recovery promising, but still fragile. The Case for SHOOSteven Madden presents a compelling investment case as a leading player in the fashion footwear market, commanding an estimated low-single-digit share of the U.S. footwear industry while maintaining strong relevance in women’s fashion footwear and accessories. The company’s portfolio includes the flagship Steven Madden brand, Dolce Vita and Kurt Geiger, enabling it to address multiple consumer segments across footwear, handbags, apparel and accessories. Its trend-driven product strategy, targeting fashion-conscious millennials and Gen Z consumers, continues to strengthen brand equity and market positioning. The company’s execution remains impressive. First-quarter 2026 revenues rose 18% year over year to $653.1 million, while the adjusted EPS of 45 cents surpassed expectations. Direct-to-consumer revenues surged 83.8%, aided by Kurt Geiger, while organic DTC sales increased 8%. Digital innovation, omnichannel marketing and increased social-media investments have boosted customer engagement, with online searches for the Steven Madden brand rising 27% in the quarter. Management also raised its full-year revenue guidance to 10-12% growth, reflecting strong momentum across Steven Madden, Dolce Vita and Kurt Geiger. Tariff dynamics remain a key consideration. Management has incorporated a 10% tariff through July and a 15% tariff thereafter into its outlook, while higher freight costs are expected to create 30 bps of margin pressure. Nevertheless, Steven Madden’s diversified sourcing model, pricing flexibility and strong brand demand position it well to navigate these challenges. The company’s expanding international footprint, growing DTC business and disciplined brand-building strategy support its long-term growth outlook despite near-term macroeconomic and tariff-related uncertainties. How Does the Zacks Consensus Estimate Compare for NKE & SHOO?The Zacks Consensus Estimate for NIKE’s fiscal 2026 sales implies year-over-year growth of 0.1%, while the same for EPS indicates a decline of 31%. The EPS estimate has been unchanged in the past 30 days. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Steven Madden’s 2026 sales and EPS suggests year-over-year growth of 11.7% and 22.9%, respectively. The EPS estimate has moved up 1.5% in the past 30 days. NIKE’s estimate trend appears muted, with sales growth barely positive and earnings under pressure, reflecting ongoing turnaround challenges. In contrast, Steven Madden shows stronger momentum, with expectations pointing to solid sales and earnings growth, supported by upward estimate revisions. This gives Steven Madden a clearer near-term earnings advantage over NIKE. Price Performance & Valuation of NKE & ADDYYIn the past year, NIKE shares have declined 24.3%, while Steven Madden has rallied 91.9%. From a price-performance perspective, Steven Madden has significantly outpaced NIKE, reflecting stronger investor confidence in its growth trajectory and execution. NIKE is trading at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 23.9X, below its median of 28.85X in the last five years. Steven Madden’s forward P/E multiple sits at 18.5X, above its median of 14.74X in the last five years. While NIKE trades below its historical valuation norms amid turnaround uncertainties, Steven Madden continues to command a more attractive valuation relative to its growth prospects. Despite trading above its long-term average multiple, Steven Madden appears better-positioned, supported by robust momentum, improving fundamentals and a valuation that remains reasonable relative to its earnings growth outlook. NKE vs. SHOO: Which Is the Better Bet Now?While NIKE remains the industry leader with unmatched scale, brand strength and innovation capabilities, its turnaround efforts are still facing meaningful operational and market challenges. Steven Madden, in contrast, is benefiting from stronger business momentum, healthy consumer demand and a diversified brand portfolio that continues to gain traction across channels and markets. For investors seeking a combination of growth, valuation and stock performance, Steven Madden emerges as the winner in this face-off. The company has delivered superior shareholder returns, offers a more attractive valuation relative to its growth prospects and enjoys stronger earnings momentum. The company’s upward revisions to estimates further signal growing confidence in its earnings outlook, reinforcing Steven Madden’s position as the more compelling investment opportunity at present. SHOO currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), whereas NIKE has a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here. Carpenter Technology (CRS) is a Top-Ranked Momentum Stock: Should You Buy? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
For new and old investors, taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals. Zacks Premium provides lots of different ways to do both. The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens. Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores. What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics, each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F. The better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform; an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on. The Style Scores are broken down into four categories: Value ScoreValue investors love finding good stocks at good prices, especially before the broader market catches on to a stock's true value. Utilizing ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and many other multiples, the Value Style Score identifies the most attractive and most discounted stocks. Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time. Momentum ScoreMomentum trading is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook, and these investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." The Momentum Style Score can pinpoint good times to build a position in a stock, using factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates. VGM ScoreIf you want a combination of all three Style Scores, then the VGM Score will be your friend. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, helping you find the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. It's also one of the best indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier. It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +24% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. But it can feel overwhelming to pick the right stocks for you and your investing goals with over 800 top-rated stocks to choose from. That's where the Style Scores come in. You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible. Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy. For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well. Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better. Stock to Watch: Carpenter Technology (CRS - Free Report) Philadelphia, PA-based Carpenter Technology Corporation is a producer and distributor of premium specialty alloys, including titanium alloys, powder metals, stainless steels, alloy steels, and tool steels as well as drilling tools. The company’s provides solutions for critical applications across diversified end-use markets - Aerospace and Defense (accounting for around 50.1% of the company’s revenues), Energy (5.3%), Transportation (3%), Medical (10.3%), Industrial and Consumer (12.3%) and Distribution (2.9%). CRS is a #2 (Buy) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of B. Momentum investors should take note of this Basic Materials stock. CRS has a Momentum Style Score of A, and shares are up 36.4% over the past four weeks. For fiscal 2026, four analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days, and the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.26 to $10.56 per share. CRS boasts an average earnings surprise of +9%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Momentum and VGM Style Scores, CRS should be on investors' short list. |

Western Midstream Announces Start-up of Second Produced-Water Treatment Facility in the Permian Basin | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The produced-water treatment pilot facility is a Joint Industry Project (JIP) between Western Midstream, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Devon, and ExxonMobil. The facility is designed to produce approximately 1,000 barrels per day of reclaimed freshwater – ten times the amount of JIP 1. The facility's water output is expected to contribute to long-term water security in West Texas. , /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Western Midstream Partners, LP (NYSE: WES) ("WES" or the "Partnership"), alongside its Joint Industry Project (JIP) collaborators Chevron U.S.A. Inc. ("Chevron"), ConocoPhillips Company ("ConocoPhillips"), Devon Energy Corporation ("Devon"), and Exxon Mobil Corporation ("ExxonMobil"), announced the start-up of its second produced-water treatment pilot facility ("JIP 2") near Red Bluff Reservoir in Reeves County, Texas. The facility is designed to receive 2,000 barrels per day of produced water and produce approximately 1,000 barrels per day of reclaimed freshwater, or approximately ten times the amount produced by JIP 1. This new facility builds upon the success of JIP 1 (described below) which evaluated and field-tested multiple produced-water treatment technologies to select preferred, high-performing solutions for ongoing operations. In 2023, WES and its collaborators created JIP 1, a small-scale pilot site in West Texas, to evaluate and measure technologies needed to commercialize beneficial use of produced water in the Permian Basin. During the 24-month project, technical experts at WES and its collaborators collected over 50,000 water quality data points to demonstrate a treatment process that can consistently produce water quality suitable for end-use applications that include industrial cooling, irrigation, and surface discharge. The JIP 2 facility will also serve as a demonstration site, enabling continued optimization of operations while validating consistent reclaimed freshwater production for a range of end-use applications. Insights and data collected from JIP 2 will guide the next phase of commercial-scale desalination facilities. WES and its JIP collaborators will continue to work closely with regulators, local communities, and independent experts to further validate the treatment process and confirm water quality outcomes. These investments are aimed at reducing industry disposal volumes while developing a potential alternative water source benefiting industry and surrounding communities. "The start-up of JIP 2 marks a pivotal milestone in our journey to transform a produced-water stream from a disposal challenge into a valuable resource for the Permian Basin and beyond," said Oscar K. Brown, President and Chief Executive Officer of WES. "Through our multi-barrier treatment approach, we are transforming that stream into highly treated reclaimed freshwater suitable for industrial cooling and irrigation applications, while helping reduce pressure on Texas' limited water resources. WES already handles approximately 3.0 million barrels per day of produced water using all of today's oil and gas flow-assurance solutions: water sourcing, recycling, gathering, long-haul transportation, and disposal, and we believe beneficial reuse will be the next major solution to the Permian Basin's water challenges. We are very proud of the progress our team and our JIP members have made together over the past two years, and we believe JIP 2 brings us meaningfully closer to WES's first commercial-scale facility." Here's How I'd Invest $10,000 Right Now | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
If you're getting started with investing or want ideas on which stocks could be good buys in today's market, let me walk you through how I'd invest $10,000 today. What I think is important is to create some strong pillars in your portfolio, around blue chip stocks that you don't have to worry about. This gives you a good base and foundation where you put the bulk of your money into. This is likely where you'll also want to have some dividend income, just to pad your returns or generate valuable cash flow (should you decide not to reinvest the dividends). And after doing this, you can then take on some risk and potentially capitalize on lucrative opportunities in the long run. Here's how I'd allocate $10,000 using this approach. Image source: Getty Images. I'd put $6,000 into a top dividend stock For a rock-solid base to build around, I'd pick Enbridge (ENB +0.15%) stock. The company has been growing its dividend for decades, has a stable, consistent pipeline business, and already offers a fairly high yield of 5%. It's an absolute gem in the oil and gas sector, yet it doesn't come with the risk that often accompanies these types of stocks. Since it's involved in infrastructure and transporting oil and gas, it's a much safer all-around investment to consider. Today's Change ( 0.15 %) $ 0.08 Current Price $ 54.55 This year, the stock has performed particularly well, up 16%, as investors have been loading up on oil and gas stocks amid rising commodity prices. But Enbridge is a solid stock to own, regardless of the price of oil. It has averaged a beta of 0.81 over the past five years, indicating that it's less volatile than the overall stock market. With a safe dividend and a robust business, I'd feel comfortable investing $6,000 in the stock, which, based on the current yield, would produce about $300 in dividends per year. I'd invest $3,000 into an excellent growth stock As part of a long-term growth strategy, I'd also want to put a fair bit of money into a promising growth stock. But I don't want to put my money at risk and throw it at just any growth stock. Instead, I'd put it in a leading company such as Alphabet (GOOG +1.58%)(GOOGL +1.29%). Alphabet stands out for its diversification and financial strength. Between YouTube, Google Search, Gemini, and Waymo, the company has promising assets that can drive growth for years to come. It offers the type of diversification you might crave in an exchange-traded fund, yet you get it through a single stock. Today's Change ( 1.58 %) $ 5.72 Current Price $ 367.82 The company has a wealth of resources to tap into that can enable it to pursue more acquisitions in the future or simply reinvest in its current operations. Alphabet has generated a staggering $160 billion in profit over the past four quarters. Its business is growing, and its margins are impressive. This is the type of low-risk growth stock that can also make for an excellent long-term investment. The last $1,000 I'd reserve for a stock with a bit more risk but a ton of upside Now, with a couple of solid blue chip stocks in Alphabet and Enbridge, I can feel comfortable in taking on a bit more risk with the remaining $1,000. While I still don't want to gamble on highly speculative investments, I do want to focus on a much smaller business that may have significant growth potential. For this stock, I'd choose CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP +1.88%). CRISPR has a market cap of $5 billion and could be much more valuable in the future. It and its development partner, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, have an approved gene-editing therapy, Casgevy, which is in its early stages of commercialization. Thus, CRISPR isn't as risky as smaller biotech stocks without any approved products. It also has over $2 billion in cash and short-term investments to help fund its day-to-day operations, and also enable it to invest in other gene-editing therapies. Today's Change ( 1.88 %) $ 1.00 Current Price $ 54.09 CRISPR remains unprofitable, but it has some enticing growth opportunities. And I'd feel confident that even under a worst-case scenario where I lose most or all of my money in CRISPR, I could make it back through my other investments on this list. By having strong pillars in place, you can take on some risk while knowing you won't put your overall portfolio in serious danger. |

The Best Biotech Stocks to Buy in 2026 | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The biotech industry is on fire right now. Over the past 12 months, the SPDR S&P Biotech ETF has crushed broader equities, gaining 61% while the S&P 500 climbed just 25%.XBI data by YCharts There are good reasons to remain bullish on the sector. As medical breakthroughs lead to better therapies for hard-to-treat conditions, innovative biotechs might be handsomely rewarded. Let's consider two drugmakers to buy to capitalize on this: CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP +1.88%) and Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX 1.54%). Here's why these are among the best biotech stocks to buy. Image source: The Motley Fool. 1. CRISPR Therapeutics CRISPR Therapeutics is a gene editing specialist. It developed Casgevy, a medicine for two rare blood diseases, in collaboration with Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Casgevy doesn't generate much revenue yet, but its sales should ramp up over the next few years. CRISPR Therapeutics also has a deep pipeline of products that could lead to significant clinical and regulatory milestones. Some of the company's most promising medicines include CTX611, an investigational anticoagulant being developed to be administered just twice a year (typically, anticoagulants are taken daily), while lowering the risk of bleeding that competitors pose. Another promising candidate in CRISPR Therapeutics' portfolio is CTX310, a potential one-time therapy to lower patients' LDL cholesterol, which can lead to cardiovascular issues at high levels. CRISPR Therapeutics expects data readouts from ongoing clinical trials for these candidates in the second half of the year. Today's Change ( 1.88 %) $ 1.00 Current Price $ 54.09 One important thing to note about CRISPR Therapeutics' pipeline is that many of its investigational treatments could be breakthroughs if approved. That's one of the key reasons to consider investing in this biotech stock. And although the company's shares could drop if it encounters setbacks, CRISPR Therapeutics' deep pipeline and significant cash on hand -- it had $2.4 billion in cash and equivalents as of March 31, which isn't bad for a company worth about $5 billion -- should allow it to eventually launch brand-new products. CRISPR Therapeutics could deliver excellent returns as Casgevy makes commercial progress, while newer products pass key clinical and regulatory milestones. 2. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Vertex Pharmaceuticals still has a monopoly in the cystic fibrosis (CF) area, as the only company that markets medicines that target the underlying causes of CF. However, the biotech leader has made significant progress in diversifying its lineup. The launch of Casgevy was just the first step. It also earned approval for Journavx, a therapy for acute pain. Recent developments should help Vertex add even more brand-new products to its portfolio. In March, Vertex Pharmaceuticals announced positive phase 3 results for povetacicept in patients with IgA Nephropathy (IgAN, a kidney disease). The company has now completed a regulatory application for this medicine in the U.S., and it could earn approval by year-end. Today's Change ( -1.54 %) $ -7.09 Current Price $ 451.90 For povetacicept, the IgAN indication may just be the beginning. Vertex Pharmaceuticals plans to pursue various label expansions for the medicine. Beyond this product, the drugmaker has several other candidates at various stages of clinical development. Vertex Pharmaceuticals has lagged broader equities over the past year, partly due to clinical setbacks and worse-than-expected financial results. However, the company's continued dominance in CF and attractive pipeline make the stock a great pick for long-term investors. Prosper Junior Bakiny has positions in Vertex Pharmaceuticals. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends CRISPR Therapeutics and Vertex Pharmaceuticals. The Motley Fool recommends SPDR Series Trust-SPDR S&P Biotech ETF. The Motley Fool has a disclosure policy. |

Why CRISPR Therapeutics Stock Has Been on a Roller-Coaster Ride This Year | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP +1.88%) has been anything but stable this year. Over the past six months, the stock has experienced sharp swings as the market attempts to determine whether CRISPR is becoming a commercial-stage biotech company or a high-risk clinical-stage play. The answer is somewhere in between. The long road to commercialization CRISPR Therapeutics' biggest milestone came in late 2023, when CASGEVY, the gene-editing therapy it developed alongside Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX 1.54%), became the first CRISPR-based treatment ever approved by regulators for the treatment of sickle cell disease. But historical wins don't always translate into immediate revenue. By the first quarter of 2026, CRISPR Therapeutics reported revenue of just $1.46 million while posting a net loss of $122.9 million. And this begs the question: How long will it take for CASGEVY to move from a scientific breakthrough to a commercially meaningful product? Today's Change ( 1.88 %) $ 1.00 Current Price $ 54.09 Commercial adoption at a snail's pace To be sure, treating patients with gene-editing therapies isn't as simple as writing a prescription. Patients must undergo specialized treatment at centers, complex preparation procedures, and lengthy approval processes. As a result, commercial adoption can only develop gradually rather than all at once. Now the company has reported a growing number of authorized treatment centers across the United States and Europe, but that still doesn't provide the evidence we need to see that patient volumes can scale meaningfully over the next several years. Fortunately, CRISPR's balance sheet is strong, and that gives it some breathing room. The company ended the first quarter with approximately $2.4 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities. That gives management considerable flexibility to continue funding research programs without raising capital in the near future. A $22 billion opportunity One of CRISPR's most closely watched treatments is CTX112, an investigational CAR-T therapy for cancer. Early clinical data generated considerable interest because CTX112 is designed as an "off-the-shelf" CAR-T therapy. Unlike traditional CAR-T treatments, which must be custom-manufactured from each patient's own cells, CTX112 is derived from healthy donor cells and can potentially be produced at scale. If successful, that could lower manufacturing costs, shorten treatment timelines, and make CAR-T therapy available to more patients. If you're unfamiliar, CAR-T is a type of cancer treatment that genetically reprograms a patient's immune cells to recognize and attack cancer more effectively. Its market value clocked in at around $5.8 billion in 2025, and by 2033, it could be worth more than $22 billion. Even capturing just 5% of a future CAR-T market would imply more than $1 billion in annual revenue potential. Image source: Getty Images. Of course, CTX112 is still years away from potential approval. And right now, the market is simply trying to value a company that now has an approved commercial product, more than $2 billion in cash, and multiple potentially important pipeline programs while weighing ongoing losses, uncertain commercial adoption rates, and the inherent risks of drug development. Make no mistake: The stock's volatility isn't being driven by one event. It's being driven by the market's attempt to determine how much future value to assign to a company transitioning from a promising gene-editing pioneer to a commercial biotechnology business. |

Huntington Bank and True Link Win 2026 Banking Tech Award for Best Bank-Fintech Partnership | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Huntington National Bank (Huntington) and True Link have been named the winner of the Best Bank-Fintech Partnership at the 2026 Banking Tech Awards USA, honoring their work to build the first fully integrated family banking platform offered at scale. This partnership allows us to serve the entire household as one connected relationship, bringing together the tools and protections people need in one place. Share More than 100 million Americans help manage the finances of a loved one, yet no bank has served those relationships as a single, connected experience. Huntington and True Link built one together: a platform spanning teens, older adults and the head-of-household customers who support them, delivered through Huntington deposit products and debit cards, inside the existing Huntington mobile app, under a single login. Since launching in early 2025, the offering has protected families, brought new households to the bank and grown deposits. Family banking is proving to be a key driver of customer choice. One-third of account holders are new to Huntington and switched specifically for this offering, bringing their relationships and deposits with them. When a bank can support the teen, the parent and the aging relative as one connected relationship, it becomes the natural choice for the entire household. “At Huntington, we’re focused on helping people get more from their money by being a trusted resource during the moments that matter most—especially when it comes to caring for their families,” said Brant Standridge, president of consumer and regional banking at Huntington. “This partnership allows us to serve the entire household as one connected relationship, bringing together the tools and protections people need in one place. It’s a meaningful step forward in how we deliver for our customers and continue to grow with them over time.” The partnership pairs Huntington's significant market reach and millions of deep customer relationships with True Link's 13 years building innovative products for families – serving kids and teens, older adults, people in recovery and adults with disabilities – and the technical depth to integrate that experience natively into a top 10 commercial bank’s own app and infrastructure. "Huntington had the vision to make family banking a core part of who they are," said Kai Stinchcombe, CEO and co-founder of True Link. "The outcomes speak for themselves. What's equally worth recognizing is the quality of the partnership – the trust, the shared learning, the willingness to build something neither of us could have built alone. Huntington earns this award every day, and we're fortunate to be in it with them." CarMax shares drop as margin pressure overshadows strong quarterly results | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
CarMax Inc (NYSE:KMX) shares fell more than 6% in early trade on Wednesday as investors looked past a better-than-expected first quarter earnings report and focused on margin pressure, credit risks and concerns about the company's profitability strategy. The used-vehicle retailer reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.31 for the quarter, well above analyst estimates of $0.95. Revenue increased 6.2% year over year to $8.01 billion, topping consensus expectations of about $7.4 billion. Combined retail and wholesale vehicle sales rose 3.3% to 392,357 units. Wholesale unit sales increased 8.4%, while retail used-vehicle sales were up slightly. Comparable-store used-vehicle sales declined 0.8%. Investors, however, focused on declining retail vehicle profitability. Gross profit per retail used vehicle fell $230 year over year to $2,177 as CarMax continued pricing actions aimed at supporting sales growth. The company has now experienced several consecutive quarters of margin compression as it prioritizes volume. Concerns also centered on credit quality within CarMax Auto Finance (CAF). While CAF penetration increased to 43.3% from 41.8% a year earlier, investors remain cautious about rising loan delinquency risks and the company's increased exposure to lower-tier borrowers. CAF income declined 1% to $140.2 million during the quarter. The company purchased approximately 322,000 vehicles from consumers and dealers, down 4.4% from a year earlier. The report was the first under new CarMax CEO Keith Barr, who said in a statement that the company has adopted a four-pillar strategic framework aimed at driving unit sales and earnings growth while improving shareholder returns. “We are entering this fiscal year with a clear strategy that is driving early results,” he said. “Our goal is clear: deliver strong unit sales and earnings growth that enables us to consistently reward our shareholders.” |

CarMax (KMX) Q1 Report: Strong Earnings but Stock Declines | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
CarMax KMX is experiencing a decline in stock price despite surpassing expectations in its Q1 earnings report. The used-car retailer achieved a significant earnings per share (EPS) beat, its largest in recent quarters, with revenue rising 6.2% year-over-year to $8.01 billion. This marks a return to revenue growth, driven primarily by improved unit sales trends—both retail and wholesale. The positive results are attributed to competitive pricing, enhanced value, and effective early strategies under new CEO Keith Barr, indicating that the company's turnaround is gaining momentum.Key Metrics: - Used comps decreased by 0.8% year-over-year, showing sequential improvement against a challenging +8.1% comparison from last year. - Combined retail and wholesale unit sales rose 3.3% to 392,357, with wholesale units up 8.4% and retail used units slightly higher year-over-year. Focus Areas: - CEO Keith Barr highlighted areas needing improvement, including core operations efficiency, retail pricing and selection, high costs, and a complex digital experience. - The digital-to-store transition is causing friction for customers, limiting KMX's ability to fully utilize its scale. Strategy: - KMX's turnaround strategy focuses on four key pillars: enhancing vehicle offerings, simplifying the customer experience, increasing transaction value, and operating more efficiently. - The plan aims to improve pricing, inventory access, conversion rates, CAF/EPP contributions, and reduce structural costs. Margins: - Competitive pricing pressures margins, although cost reductions are mitigating some earnings impact. - Total gross profit fell 4% year-over-year to $854 million, with gross margin contracting about 110 basis points to 10.7%. - Used retail gross profit per unit (GPU) decreased by $230 year-over-year to $2,177, which was better than management's previous expectation of a $300 decline. CAF/EPP: - CAF penetration rose by 150 basis points to 43.3%, supported by KMX's comprehensive financing initiatives. - The rollout of a redesigned EPP offering is anticipated to add approximately $35 per unit in incremental margin by FY27. KMX's recent Q1 results suggest that CEO Keith Barr is implementing effective strategies for the company's turnaround, although management acknowledges that recovery is still in its early stages. The stock's decline may be attributed to profit-taking after a significant rally leading up to the report, as investors anticipated strong performance. While used comps remain negative, the 0.8% decline reflects a sequential improvement against a tough comparison. The overall improvement in combined retail and wholesale units, along with returning revenue growth, indicates that competitive pricing and enhanced value are beginning to stimulate demand. However, GPU and margins continue to face pressure, raising questions about how long KMX will rely on pricing strategies to boost volume. Encouragingly, GPU pressure was less severe than expected, and cost-saving measures, along with higher CAF penetration and EPP redesign, provide KMX with tools to mitigate earnings impacts. The upcoming quarters will be crucial in determining if the improved unit trends and Barr's broader strategy can lead to consistent earnings growth. The headline numbers cleared expectations comfortably, but the stock fell anyway. Carvana (NYSE:CVNA) stock is down 8% to around $64.65 in sympathy, with no company-specific catalyst behind the move. The used-car retail group is treating CarMax’s margin commentary and credit data as a read-through to the entire sector. The setup is unusual. CarMax delivered both an earnings and a revenue beat, but investors zeroed in on shrinking per-unit profitability and rising loan-loss reserves at CarMax Auto Finance (CAF). The “beat but fell” pattern is amplified because CarMax stock had rallied sharply heading into the report. CarMax stock has been one of the year’s stronger rebound stories, climbing 35% year to date through Tuesday’s close at $52.11. That run set a high bar going into the release and left less margin for any operational disappointment. Earnings Beat Masked by Margin and Credit Concerns CarMax reported Q1 FY2027 EPS of $1.31 versus consensus near $0.944, and revenue of $8.01 billion topped the $7.42 billion estimate. Both lines beat by a wide margin. The quality of earnings cracked under the hood. Retail used vehicle gross profit per unit at CarMax fell $230 year over year to $2,177, reflecting deliberate pricing actions to drive volume. Total gross profit declined and net earnings fell 12% to $185.6 million. Credit signals also tightened at CarMax. The allowance for loan losses rose to 3% of auto loans held for investment from 3% the prior quarter. CAF income slipped to $140.2 million, even as CAF penetration climbed to 43%, partly reflecting more Tier 2 exposure. There were operational positives at CarMax. SG&A per total unit improved 7% to $1,619, and wholesale revenues rose 14% on higher wholesale unit volume. However, comparable-store used unit sales declined 1%, hinting at soft underlying demand despite the headline revenue beat. This was also the first report under new CarMax CEO Keith Barr, three months into the role. Barr stated, “I came to CarMax because I saw a strong foundation, an award-winning, people-first culture, and significant potential to unlock growth.” Notably, Barr introduced a four-pillar framework and reiterated a $200 million SG&A (Selling, General, and Administrative expenses) exit-rate savings target by fiscal year-end 2027. Carvana Sells Off in Sympathy Carvana has no company-specific news today. The 8% drop in Carvana shares reflects sector read-through from CarMax’s used-vehicle pricing pressure and credit-quality flag. The two stocks often trade together when sector narratives shift. The selloff hits a stock that has already been choppy. Carvana stock was down 17% year to date heading into today, with a market cap near $45.94 billion. Carvana shares closed at $70.04 on Tuesday before today’s slide. Carvana’s most recent quarter was strong, with Q4 2025 EPS of $4.22 and revenue of $5.6 billion, up 58% year over year. However, the company carries $4.83 billion in long-term debt, which makes used-auto credit-cycle headlines particularly impactful for Carvana shares. Bullish analyst notes earlier in 2026 have leaned on resilient securitization structures and rising used-car prices as offsets. What to Watch Next CarMax already held its earnings call this morning at 8:00 a.m. ET, and management has flagged a formal Strategic Update planned for late fall to outline further milestones under Barr’s plan. That event could reshape the bull-bear debate on CarMax shares. The next scheduled earnings release for CarMax is Q2 FY2027 on September 29. Carvana’s next scheduled catalyst is its Q2 2026 earnings release, expected in late July. Until then, Carvana stock may trade as a high-beta proxy for used-car retail sentiment, magnifying any peer moves on credit or pricing data. Sector sentiment is the swing factor for both names. Should used-car credit data stabilize in coming weeks, today’s reaction could prove a one-day overshoot at CarMax and Carvana. A continued uptick in subprime auto delinquencies, on the other hand, may keep pressure on the group, particularly given Carvana’s leverage profile. The takeaway is straightforward: CarMax beat estimates and still fell because investors prioritized per-unit margin compression and rising CAF reserves over the headline number. Investors can watch for whether today’s selloff in both names holds into the close, and whether further sector data points reinforce or ease the concerns flagged in the CarMax report. |
