Nancy Pelosi’s Family Bought Intel in July, Right Before Its Worst Day Since 1974 | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Paul Pelosi bought Intel shares and options worth up to $1.5 million in late July, then Intel suffered its worst single-session collapse in half a century. Now retail investors who copy congressional trades are tallying the damage. This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them. Nancy Pelosi’s household bought Intel (NASDAQ:INTC | INTC Price Prediction) on July 24, 2026. Barely three months later, the stock sits 34.86% below where it traded that day, after a single-session collapse reported as Intel’s worst since 1974. For retail investors who copy Washington’s stock trades, the timing hurts, and the same day, Bloomberg’s ETF IQ scheduled a deep look at the fund built to clone those trades. A Seven-Figure Intel Purchase Hits a Historic Crash A House periodic transaction report reveals the purchases. The disclosure lawmakers must file when they or family members trade securities shows Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, bought shares of Intel valued at $500,001 to $1,000,000, plus Intel options valued at $250,001 to $500,000. Both trades are dated July 24, and the filing was submitted August 21, 2026. Combined, that’s a position worth up to $1.5 million. Intel closed at $92.32 on the purchase date. On October 30, it plunged roughly 30% in one session after warning that the PC slump would drag into next year, its worst single-day drop since 1974. The stock closed that day at $65.76 and fell another 8.55% Monday to $60.14. Strong Numbers Couldn’t Save Intel From Its Own Outlook The crash followed a quarter that looked solid on paper. Intel’s third-quarter revenue rose 20.9% to $16.51 billion, and adjusted EPS of $0.52 beat the $0.40 estimate. Data Center and AI revenue jumped 78%. The PC business told a different story. Client Computing revenue fell 5%, and fourth-quarter guidance called for revenue of $15.0 billion to $16.0 billion and adjusted EPS of $0.25. Chief Executive Lip-Bu Tan acknowledged “near-term headwinds across the PC industry” while claiming CPU demand “remains robust.” Investors sided with the headwinds. Intel is down 49.98% over the past month, though it remains up 62.98% year to date thanks to a huge run earlier in 2026. Fine Print That Changes the Pelosi Scorecard The holding is listed under the spouse’s name, and the amounts are disclosed only as ranges, so the exact dollar loss is unknown. Their strike prices and expiration dates weren’t disclosed. The options were call options (contracts that profit if a stock rises), and those terms determine whether they’re underwater or close to worthless. The same filing also shows a larger purchase of Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE). The household bought Bloom stock and options valued at $1,000,001 to $5,000,000 each on July 24, then added more on July 28. That trade is working: Bloom is up 6.39% since July 24, riding AI data center power demand that lifted third-quarter revenue 138.1%. Copycat Investors Get Their Moment on National TV The Subversive Congressional Democrats Trading ETF (CBOE:NANC) mirrors trades disclosed by Democratic lawmakers and their families under the STOCK Act. Bloomberg’s ETF IQ scheduled a drill-down into NANC for Monday’s noon ET broadcast, according to a post from host Eric Balchunas. NANC’s exposure to Intel’s crash was small. As of June 30, the fund held 9,814 Intel shares, just 0.49% of its $282.2 million in net assets. Its largest holdings were chip leaders NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) at 7.94% and Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) at 6.47%. Bloom didn’t appear in that snapshot. Up 2% since July 24, the fund has returned 9.43% year to date. Since February 7, 2023, it has gained 98.72%. The Intel episode reveals the core weakness of copying Congress: the lag, as lawmakers can report trades weeks after making them, and this one showed up nearly a month later. Followers buy on the disclosure date, after the original buyer has locked in a price, and diversification across 105 positions is what protected NANC holders here. What to Watch Next Future House filings will show whether the Pelosi household sold Intel, held through the crash, or let the calls expire. NANC’s next portfolio report will reveal whether the fund added Intel or Bloom after the August disclosure. Intel’s fourth-quarter results will be telling. Measured against that $0.25 EPS guide, they will show whether October 30 marked the bottom of the PC slump or an early stage of it. Data Sources Eric Balchunas post on X: Bloomberg ETF IQ scheduled a NANC section for its November 2 noon ET broadcast. Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections. |

What's Going On With Bloom Energy Shares Tuesday? | FMP Stock News

Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) shares are trading higher Tuesday after the company announced it signed a memorandum of understanding with California Resources Corporation (NYSE:CRC) and its carbon management business, Carbon TerraVault, to jointly evaluate and target the potential development of 1 gigawatt or more of solid-oxide fuel cell power generation paired with carbon capture and storage in California. |

Bloom Energy Rallies 11% on Barclays Upgrade and California Resources Tie-Up; FuelCell Energy Gains 5%, GE Vernova Climbs 3% | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
A Wall Street upgrade and a surprise California carbon-capture deal pulled Bloom Energy out of a brutal month-long slide, but the real question is whether surging customer deposits signal a genuine inflection or a cash trap waiting to spring.A Wall Street upgrade and a new carbon-capture partnership in California are pulling Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) out of a sharp autumn decline. Bloom Energy stock is at $217.21, up 11% as trading gets underway. That rebound follows a rough stretch, since the stock was down 27% over the past month through the November 2 close. Barclays (NYSE:BCS | BCS Price Prediction) upgraded Bloom Energy on November 3, arguing that demand at the fuel cell maker is inflecting faster than expected. On November 2, Bloom Energy signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with California Resources (NYSE:CRC) and its Carbon TerraVault unit. Barclays Sees Bloom Energy Demand Turning Faster Than Expected Analyst Christine Cho of Barclays moved Bloom Energy to Overweight from Equal Weight while cutting her price target to $289 from $316. Her argument centers on the balance sheet, where Christine Cho noted that customer deposits jumped to $661 million in the third quarter from $78 million at the end of 2025. Christine Cho also highlighted long-term supply commitments through 2029 of $5.8 billion, up from $16.4 million in the second quarter. Christine Cho called the jump “potentially one of the clearest indications yet” of accelerating customer commitments at Bloom Energy. She attached a caveat, though: funding inventory and capacity ahead of revenue could keep the company’s 2027 free cash flow below Street expectations. That warning ties back to Bloom Energy’s Q3 2026 results, reported October 22. The company’s revenue rose 138.1% year over year to $1.24 billion, and its gross margin reached 34.5%. Even so, operating cash flow at Bloom Energy was negative $27.1 million because of working capital investments. California Resources Deal Adds Carbon Capture to Bloom Energy’s Story California Resources said it’ll work with Bloom Energy. The companies will evaluate developing 1 gigawatt or more of solid-oxide fuel cell power paired with carbon capture and storage in Central and Northern California. According to California Resources, the contemplated projects could make up to 3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide per year available for capture and storage. Possible customers for the projects include utilities, data centers and industrial users. Bloom Energy’s agreement is non-binding and subject to definitive contracts, investment decisions and permits, so any revenue depends on those steps. The deal fits a recent theme. CEO KR Sridhar laid it out on the October 22 earnings call, when he called carbon capture and storage a potential “greater-than-a-trillion-dollar opportunity.” FuelCell and GE Vernova Trail Bloom Energy’s Bounce FuelCell Energy (NASDAQ:FCEL) stock is at $10.99, up 5%. That gain trails Bloom Energy, and FuelCell isn’t a party to either the Barclays upgrade or the California Resources agreement. Meanwhile, GE Vernova (NYSE:GEV) stock is at $886, up 3%. GE Vernova’s move is the smallest of the three, and the company has no role in either announcement. AI data center power demand remains the background for Bloom Energy, even as broader tech wobbles and investors weigh the November 3 midterm elections. The Department of Energy projects data centers will account for up to 12% of U.S. electrical demand by 2028. All that onsite generation has to be powered and cooled by somebody, and the suppliers behind the data center expansion are the quieter way to play the trend. We rounded up seven of them, from power to cooling, in a free report here: 7 Stocks Powering the AI Boom (That Aren’t Chipmakers). How Bloom Energy’s Model Differs From FuelCell and GE Vernova Bloom Energy builds solid-oxide fuel cell Energy Servers that deliver always-on power at the customer’s site, selling heavily to hyperscalers, AI labs, neoclouds and colocation operators. FuelCell uses a different chemistry, carbonate fuel cells, and pairs equipment sales with a portfolio of plants that sell power, plus a significant business in South Korea. GE Vernova operates far more broadly, spanning gas turbines, nuclear services, wind equipment and grid gear such as transformers and switchgear, making it more of a utility and grid supplier, while Bloom Energy concentrates on onsite generation that avoids grid constraints. Bloom Energy’s Next Test Is Turning Commitments Into Cash Bloom Energy still needs to show that rising deposits and supply commitments convert into collected cash. On the October 22 call, CFO Simon Edwards said, “While the contract asset balance might grow, it is really important to us that they are turning because we are reaching those billing milestones and collecting cash.” Barclays noted that same cash timing in its upgrade. Bulls can point to Bloom Energy’s third guidance raise of 2026, with full-year revenue now projected at $4.4 billion to $4.6 billion and demand spreading beyond hyperscalers. Risks on the other side include negative operating cash flow, air permitting delays, tariffs and the non-binding status of the California Resources pact. Traders may prefer to keep their BE stock exposure smaller until the California Resources agreement’s path to binding contracts settles. Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections. |

This compares to year-ago revenues of $35.85 billion. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates four times over the last four quarters. The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call. Marathon Petroleum shares have added about 164.6% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 10.2%. What's Next for Marathon Petroleum? While Marathon Petroleum has outperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock? Marathon Petroleum Refining Margin Jumps 160%: Rapid Earnings Reaction | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Marathon Petroleum (MPC -1.72%) reported third-quarter net income of $7.4 billion, or $26.59 per share, up from $1.4 billion a year ago. Shares rose about 1.4% in pre-market trading. Higher refining margins, not more volume or lower costs, drove nearly all of it, so the quarter says more about the market than about the business. The company is returning cash fast, but the profit depends on margins staying wide.Key Numbers Adjusted EBITDA: $11.7 billion, versus $3.2 billion. Refining & Marketing margin: $45.70 per barrel, versus $17.60. Adjusted EPS: $26.93, versus $3.01. Crude capacity utilization: 100%, versus 95%. What It Means Refiners can't sell more than their plants can process, so a quarter like this comes from price, not volume. Operating costs per barrel were flat, so nearly every extra dollar of margin reached profit. Margins this wide rarely last. The release gives no margin outlook for the fourth quarter, and it guides throughput lower, to about 3.1 million barrels a day. Midstream provides the steadier cash. Its adjusted EBITDA rose 10%, and a higher distribution from the company's pipeline partnership will flow to MPC. What to Watch Next Watch fourth-quarter refining margins, which drive profit almost one for one. Also track how the Mid-Continent sale proceeds are redeployed once the deal closes at year-end. Is BSX Worth Buying Now as Low Valuation Meets Weak Earnings Growth? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Boston Scientific trades at a forward P/E of 14.06, well below its five-year median of 25.08.BSX cut adjusted EPS outlook to $3.16-$3.18 as earnings momentum and core franchises weaken.BSX's Neuromodulation and Interventional Cardiology remain growth drivers, but EP may improve in 2028.Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX - Free Report) trades at a steep discount to its recent history, but the lower multiple comes as earnings expectations weaken and several core franchises lose momentum. The valuation may look attractive after the stock’s sharp decline, yet management expects 2027 to be the trough of the current cycle, with a more meaningful performance improvement targeted for 2028. BSX Valuation Looks Discounted on EarningsBoston Scientific trades at a forward 12-month price-to-earnings ratio of 14.06, well below its five-year median of 25.08. Its current multiple also trails the Zacks sub-industry at 17.20, the Zacks Medical sector at 21.85 and the S&P 500 at 18.51. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research That gap creates a clear value argument, but the discount reflects a weaker growth outlook. Shares have fallen 55.1% over the past year, while the company’s near-term earnings profile has deteriorated. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Boston Scientific Earnings Momentum Is WeakManagement cut its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings guidance to $3.16-$3.18 per share from $3.28-$3.32. Third-quarter adjusted earnings fell 2.7% year over year to 73 cents per share, with the cybersecurity incident reducing adjusted earnings by about 7 cents. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2027 earnings is $3.13 per share. The current fiscal-year earnings estimate has also declined 2.6% over the past four weeks, reinforcing the lack of near-term estimate momentum. BSX Faces Several Execution Risks Through 2027WATCHMAN sales declined 5.9% organically in the third quarter, while electrophysiology sales fell 5.3%. Management expects continued electrophysiology share erosion until FARAWAVE Ultra arrives in early 2028, while pricing pressure in China remains another drag. Competition is also intensifying. Abbott Laboratories (ABT - Free Report) said its third-quarter 2026 electrophysiology sales rose 15.5% organically as its Volt pulsed field ablation system contributed to growth. Medtronic plc (MDT - Free Report) continues to expand its cardiac ablation portfolio around the Affera and PulseSelect platforms. The pending Penumbra acquisition and Boston Scientific’s $1.5 billion MiRus investment broaden its strategic reach, but they also increase financing and execution demands during a period of softer earnings visibility. Boston Scientific Retains Valuable Growth AssetsNeuromodulation remains a bright spot, with third-quarter organic sales growth of 13%. Interventional Cardiology also grew 19%, supported by imaging and drug-eluting technologies, while EMEA operational sales advanced 6.1%. The pipeline provides a path to better growth, though the timing is back-end loaded. Boston Scientific expects new cardiac rhythm management launches during 2027, two-dimensional intracardiac echocardiography in the second half of 2027 and FARAWAVE Ultra in early 2028. Management expects Electrophysiology performance to improve meaningfully in 2028. BSX Ratings Support a Wait-and-Watch StanceThe lower valuation does not fully offset Boston Scientific’s weak estimate trend and execution risks. The current setup favors patience until earnings visibility and competitive trends improve. BSX carries a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), reflecting unfavorable earnings estimate revisions. It has a Value Score of C, Growth Score of C, Momentum Score of B and VGM Score of C. The Style Scores are designed to complement the Zacks Rank, and the combination does not provide the favorable Rank-plus-Style profile generally associated with stronger near-term prospects. Boston Scientific still has valuable franchises and a sizable innovation pipeline. For now, however, the earnings reset, delayed catalysts and competitive pressure make the valuation discount less persuasive on its own. Why TransUnion (TRU) is a Top Value Stock for the Long-Term | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both. The research service features daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, all of which will help you become a smarter, more confident investor. Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores. What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics, each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F. The better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform; an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on. The Style Scores are broken down into four categories: Value ScoreFor value investors, it's all about finding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value before the broader market catches on. The Value Style Score utilizes ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to help pick out the most attractive and discounted stocks. Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time. Momentum ScoreMomentum investors, who live by the saying "the trend is your friend," are most interested in taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Utilizing one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, among other factors, the Momentum Style Score can help determine favorable times to buy high-momentum stocks. VGM ScoreWhat if you like to use all three types of investing? The VGM Score is a combination of all Style Scores, making it one of the most comprehensive indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, which helps narrow down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank A proprietary stock-rating model, the Zacks Rank utilizes the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings outlook, to help investors create a successful portfolio. It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.82% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. This totals more than 800 top-rated stocks, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick the best stocks for you and your portfolio. That's where the Style Scores come in. To maximize your returns, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. This means picking stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you find yourself looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, make sure they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible. As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy. Here's an example: a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one with Style Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings outlook, and a bigger chance its share price will decrease too. Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better. For fiscal 2026, seven analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days, and the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.02 to $4.86 per share. TRU boasts an average earnings surprise of +5.4%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Value and VGM Style Scores, TRU should be on investors' short list. |

Celsius Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CELH) SHAREHOLDER ALERT: Investors With Losses May Seek to Lead the Class Action in Celsius Holdings, Inc. Securities Lawsuit - Contact Portnoy Law Firm | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Portnoy Law Firm notifies investors in Celsius Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CELH) that a securities class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of shareholders who purchased or otherwise acquired Celsius common stock between February 21, 2025 and June 3, 2026, inclusive (the 'Class Period'). Find out if you qualify to recover your per-share losses by choosing to join the class action and submit your trade details. Investors who suffered financial losses have until November 3, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff. Shareholders should contact Lesley Portnoy via e-mail ([email protected] or call (310) 692-8883) or visit http://portnoylaw.com/celsius-holdings-inc to learn more information and discuss their legal rights. Please visit our website for more information on how to participate in this class action.According to the complaint, Celsius acquired Alani Nutrition LLC, a maker of highly caffeinated drinks, on April 1, 2025. Although defendants represent that Alani Nu drinks are safe and healthy, the plaintiff contends that a single 12-ounce drink contains 200 milligrams of caffeine—more than double the 100-milligram daily limit recommended for teenagers and children aged 12 to 17. Despite the risks these beverages present to teens, the company markets them to young consumers while simultaneously asserting a commitment not to do so. Furthermore, the complaint alleges that during the class period, defendants failed to disclose to investors that their products did not adequately warn of cardiac risks and that marketing to individuals under 18 targeted a demographic particularly susceptible to those health hazards. Consequently, this created a non-speculative risk of consumers suffering potentially fatal adverse health events, which, once revealed, was likely to inflict a significant negative impact on the company's business and reputation, rendering the defendants' public statements materially false and misleading at all relevant times. WHY PORTNOY LAW FIRM The Portnoy Law Firm represents investors in complex securities class action litigation and shareholder rights matters across the nation. Founded by Lesley Portnoy, the firm's attorneys have recovered billions of dollars for aggrieved institutional and retail investors. The firm leverages extensive legal expertise and sophisticated financial forensic capabilities to hold public corporations accountable for corporate wrongdoing and misrepresentation. Lead Plaintiff Deadline: Investors who suffered losses on Celsius Holdings, Inc. stock during the Class Period have until November 3, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff. Frequently Asked Questions About the Celsius Lawsuit Q: What is the Celsius lead plaintiff deadline? A: The deadline to apply for lead plaintiff appointment is November 3, 2026. This deadline applies strictly to investors seeking to serve as lead plaintiff representing the class. Class members who do not apply may still participate in any eventual financial recovery as absent class members without taking any action at this time. Q: How much did Celsius stock drop and on what dates? A: Following the disclosure of negative news and regulatory investigations, Celsius's common stock experienced two major single-day percentage drops: on April 10, 2026, after media outlets reported that the family of a 17-year-old had filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Alani Nu distributors over caffeine-related cardiac risks, Celsius's stock price fell $1.52 per share, or 4.18%, to close at $34.86; subsequently, on June 4, 2026, when Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into Celsius and its Alani Nu subsidiary for deceptive trade practices regarding the marketing of high-caffeine energy drinks to children and teens, the stock price fell $2.26 per share, or 7.53%, to close at $27.75. Q: What specific misstatements does the Celsius lawsuit allege? A: The lawsuit claims that Celsius Holdings and its executives misled investors by repeatedly portraying their products—specifically Alani Nu energy drinks—as safe and healthy. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the company failed to adequately disclose the serious cardiac risks associated with high caffeine levels in Alani Nu drinks. Furthermore, it alleges that while executives claimed they did not market or sample to children or teens under 18, the company actively targeted that vulnerable demographic using bright packaging, college student "ambassadors," and youth-oriented social media campaigns, concealing the severe health and regulatory risks that this marketing strategy created. A: Following the reporting of disappointing second-quarter 2026 financial results, a significant miss in Foot Locker revenue, a reduction in full-year net sales guidance, and disclosures regarding an increasingly promotional athletic footwear environment, DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. common stock fell $55.02 per share, or approximately 30%, to close at a price of $124.31 per share on August 25, 2026. Q: What do Celsius investors need to do right now? A: Investors who purchased CELH common stock during the Class Period (February 21, 2025 through June 3, 2026) should gather their trade confirmation slips or brokerage transaction logs showing purchase dates, number of shares, and prices paid. You may submit your trade details to Portnoy Law Firm here for a free, no-obligation evaluation of your potential loss recovery. No immediate legal action is required to remain an eligible absent class member. Q: What is a lead plaintiff and why does it matter? A: A lead plaintiff is a court-appointed class member who acts on behalf of all other class members in directing the litigation. The lead plaintiff is typically the investor or group of investors that makes a motion with the largest financial interest in the relief sought. While serving as lead plaintiff does not increase an investor's individual financial recovery compared to other class members, it gives the investor direct authority to select lead counsel and oversee the prosecution of the lawsuit. Q: Does the lead plaintiff receive any type of compensation? A: Yes, in many cases, Courts award the lead plaintiff an additional amount of money to compensate the lead plaintiff for their participation in the case. Q: Does it cost anything to participate in this case as a lead plaintiff? A: A lead plaintiff does not pay any fees or expenses out of pocket. Our firm works on a contingency basis, and will collect any fees or expenses directly from a future recovery. Q: What if I already sold my Celsius shares -- can I still recover losses? A: Yes. Eligibility to participate in a securities class action recovery depends on whether you purchased or acquired CELH common stock during the Class Period (February 21, 2025 to June 3, 2026) and suffered an economic loss. Investors who sold their shares prior to or after the public disclosures may still be eligible to recover damages based on the artificial inflation present in the stock at the time of purchase. Q: How long will the Celsius lawsuit take to resolve? A: Securities class action lawsuits typically take between two and four years from initial filing to full resolution. The exact timeline depends on court scheduling, motion practice (such as motions to dismiss), pre-trial discovery, and potential settlement negotiations or trial proceedings. Q: Can I choose a different law firm to represent me? A: Yes. Investors have the absolute right to retain any legal counsel of their choice. When multiple class action complaints are filed, the court will consolidate the actions and appoint a lead plaintiff and lead counsel. You may choose to be represented by Portnoy Law Firm, retain separate counsel, or remain an absent class member represented by court-appointed lead counsel. ("Celsius Holdings" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: CELH) and reminds investors of the November 3, 2026 deadline to seek the role of lead plaintiff in a federal securities class action that has been filed against the Company. Faruqi & Faruqi is a leading national securities law firm with offices in New York, Pennsylvania, California and Georgia. The firm has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for investors since its founding in 1995. See www.faruqilaw.com. As detailed below, the complaint alleges that the Company and its executives violated federal securities laws by making false and/or misleading statements and/or failing to disclose that: (i) Defendants' products failed to adequately disclose the cardiac risks of consuming Alani Nu products; (ii) by marketing Alani Nu drinks to consumers under the age of 18, the Company was marketing its products to individuals who were particularly susceptible to known health risks posed by those products; (iii) the foregoing created a non-speculative risk that Alani Nu consumers would suffer potentially fatal adverse health events; (iv) the foregoing, once revealed, was likely to have a significant negative impact on the Company's business and reputation; and (v) as a result, Defendants' public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. On April 9, 2026, NBC News and local news outlet MyRGV reported that the family of 17-year old Texas cheerleader Larissa Rodriguez had filed a wrongful death lawsuit against distributors of Alani Nu, alleging that Rodriguez died from an enlarged heart caused by drinking Alani Nu energy drinks and that the drinks "had inadequate warnings about the serious cardiac risks" of drinking Alani Nu. On this news, Celsius's stock price fell $1.52 per share, or 4.18%, to close at $34.86 per share on April 10, 2026. On June 4, 2026, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into Celsius over concerns that its high-caffeine energy drinks are being marketed to children and teens, specifically examining whether Celsius and its Alani Nu subsidiary had violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act by misrepresenting the safety of their products. The court-appointed lead plaintiff is the investor with the largest financial interest in the relief sought by the class who is adequate and typical of class members who directs and oversees the litigation on behalf of the putative class. Any member of the putative class may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through counsel of their choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member. Your ability to share in any recovery is not affected by the decision to serve as a lead plaintiff or not. Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP also encourages anyone with information regarding Celsius Holdings's conduct to contact the firm, including whistleblowers, former employees, shareholders and others. Follow us for updates on LinkedIn, on X, or on Facebook. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Investors Regarding the Celsius Holdings Securities Class Action Lawsuit: What is the Celsius Holdings securities fraud lawsuit about? A securities fraud class action lawsuit has been filed against Celsius Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CELH) on behalf of investors who purchased the company's securities during the Class Period. The lawsuit alleges that Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and failed to disclose that Alani Nu products did not adequately warn consumers of cardiac risks associated with their consumption, and that the company allegedly marketed those products to individuals under the age of 18 who were particularly susceptible to those known health risks. The complaint further alleges that these undisclosed facts created a non-speculative risk that Alani Nu consumers could suffer potentially fatal adverse health events. On April 9, 2026, news reports emerged about a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a 17-year-old Texas cheerleader who allegedly died from an enlarged heart attributed to Alani Nu consumption, causing Celsius's stock to decline approximately 4.18%. The allegations were compounded on June 4, 2026, when the Texas Attorney General announced an investigation into whether Celsius and its Alani Nu subsidiary violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act by misrepresenting product safety, causing a further stock decline of approximately 7.53%. Who may be eligible to participate in the lawsuit? Investors who purchased or otherwise acquired securities of Celsius Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CELH) on the NASDAQ exchange between February 21, 2025 and June 3, 2026, inclusive, may be eligible to participate in this class action lawsuit. Eligibility to participate is not limited to those who apply to serve as lead plaintiff; any investor who purchased Celsius Holdings securities during the Class Period and suffered losses may potentially share in any recovery obtained. Investors are encouraged to review their trading records to determine whether their purchases fall within the defined Class Period. Those with questions about their eligibility are encouraged to consult with counsel to evaluate their options. What is a lead plaintiff, and how can I seek appointment? A lead plaintiff is a court-appointed representative who serves on behalf of all class members and plays an active role in overseeing the litigation, including working with counsel to direct the prosecution of the case. Under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act, any member of the proposed class may move the court for appointment as lead plaintiff, and the court generally appoints the movant with the largest financial interest in the relief sought who also satisfies applicable legal requirements. The deadline to file a motion for appointment as lead plaintiff is the lead plaintiff deadline applicable to this case, and investors wishing to be considered for this role must act before that date. Importantly, investors are not required to seek appointment as lead plaintiff in order to participate in the lawsuit or to share in any monetary recovery that may result. Those interested in the lead plaintiff role are encouraged to consult with qualified securities litigation counsel promptly to allow sufficient time to prepare and file the necessary motion. Why should investors contact Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP? Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP has represented investors in securities litigation for decades and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for shareholders. Wall Street Analysts See Archrock Inc. (AROC) as a Buy: Should You Invest? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
When deciding whether to buy, sell, or hold a stock, investors often rely on analyst recommendations. Media reports about rating changes by these brokerage-firm-employed (or sell-side) analysts often influence a stock's price, but are they really important? Before we discuss the reliability of brokerage recommendations and how to use them to your advantage, let's see what these Wall Street heavyweights think about Archrock Inc. (AROC - Free Report) . Archrock Inc. currently has an average brokerage recommendation (ABR) of 1.67, on a scale of 1 to 5 (Strong Buy to Strong Sell), calculated based on the actual recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell, etc.) made by nine brokerage firms. An ABR of 1.67 approximates between Strong Buy and Buy. Of the nine recommendations that derive the current ABR, six are Strong Buy and two are Buy. Strong Buy and Buy respectively account for 66.7% and 22.2% of all recommendations. Brokerage Recommendation Trends for AROC Check price target & stock forecast for Archrock Inc. here>>> While the ABR calls for buying Archrock Inc., it may not be wise to make an investment decision solely based on this information. Several studies have shown limited to no success of brokerage recommendations in guiding investors to pick stocks with the best price increase potential. Do you wonder why? As a result of the vested interest of brokerage firms in a stock they cover, their analysts tend to rate it with a strong positive bias. According to our research, brokerage firms assign five "Strong Buy" recommendations for every "Strong Sell" recommendation. This means that the interests of these institutions are not always aligned with those of retail investors, giving little insight into the direction of a stock's future price movement. It would therefore be best to use this information to validate your own analysis or a tool that has proven to be highly effective at predicting stock price movements. With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, which classifies stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), is a reliable indicator of a stock's near-term price performance. So, validating the Zacks Rank with ABR could go a long way in making a profitable investment decision. Zacks Rank Should Not Be Confused With ABRIn spite of the fact that Zacks Rank and ABR both appear on a scale from 1 to 5, they are two completely different measures. Broker recommendations are the sole basis for calculating the ABR, which is typically displayed in decimals (such as 1.28). The Zacks Rank, on the other hand, is a quantitative model designed to harness the power of earnings estimate revisions. It is displayed in whole numbers -- 1 to 5. It has been and continues to be the case that analysts employed by brokerage firms are overly optimistic with their recommendations. Because of their employers' vested interests, these analysts issue more favorable ratings than their research would support, misguiding investors far more often than helping them. In contrast, the Zacks Rank is driven by earnings estimate revisions. And near-term stock price movements are strongly correlated with trends in earnings estimate revisions, according to empirical research. In addition, the different Zacks Rank grades are applied proportionately to all stocks for which brokerage analysts provide current-year earnings estimates. In other words, this tool always maintains a balance among its five ranks. Another key difference between the ABR and Zacks Rank is freshness. The ABR is not necessarily up-to-date when you look at it. But, since brokerage analysts keep revising their earnings estimates to account for a company's changing business trends, and their actions get reflected in the Zacks Rank quickly enough, it is always timely in indicating future price movements. Is AROC a Good Investment?Looking at the earnings estimate revisions for Archrock Inc., the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year has declined 0.4% over the past month to $1.77. Analysts' growing pessimism over the company's earnings prospects, as indicated by strong agreement among them in revising EPS estimates lower, could be a legitimate reason for the stock to plunge in the near term. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) for Archrock Inc. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> Therefore, it could be wise to take the Buy-equivalent ABR for Archrock Inc with a grain of salt. |

Ciena Corporation’s (CIEN - Free Report) shares have soared 55.5% in the past year, outperforming the Zacks Computer & Technology sector and the S&P 500 composite’s growth of 9.4% and 11.3%, respectively. The Zacks Communication - Components industry is up 87.5% over the same time frame. The company’s shares have surged 97.4% in the past six months. The company has also outpaced its peers, Corning Incorporated (GLW - Free Report) , Arista Networks, Inc. (ANET - Free Report) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO - Free Report) . GLW, ANET and CSCO have climbed 44.6%, 6.9% and 40.5%, respectively, in the same time frame. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Ciena is gaining from AI-driven connectivity demand, its leadership in optical networking, expanding data-center connectivity opportunities and rising operating leverage, supporting sustained long-term growth and market share gains. Let us take a closer look at CIEN’s fundamentals, key growth drivers, competitive strengths and potential risks to determine whether the stock remains an attractive investment. Key Factors to ConsiderCiena is gaining from accelerating demand for high-speed optical connectivity, fueled by rising AI investments and expanding data center infrastructure. Increasing bandwidth requirements, network traffic and the need for low-latency connectivity are driving adoption of its optical solutions. The company is benefiting from growing investments across traditional wide-area networks, AI-driven networks and data centers. Management expects its total addressable market to double from approximately $25 billion to $50 billion by 2029, creating substantial opportunities for sustained growth and market share gains. The company’s strong technological leadership and expanding optical portfolio are strengthening its competitive position. Its WaveLogic 6 Extreme platform continues to witness robust adoption, surpassing the deployment pace of its predecessor, WaveLogic 5e. The company's RLS platform commands approximately 70% market share in disaggregated optical line systems. Meanwhile, its next-generation Hyper-Rail solution, designed to support distributed AI workloads across data centers, is gaining customer traction. Management expects initial customer standardization by the end of 2026, with revenues scaling to several hundred million dollars in fiscal 2027. Ciena is benefiting from growing demand for interconnect solutions within and around data centers. Its WaveLogic 5 Nano pluggable optics are witnessing strong adoption, with 800ZR shipment volumes more than doubling sequentially in the fiscal third quarter. Ciena is also making progress with its Nitro linear redriver and Vesta co-packaged optical solutions. Sample orders from several anchor customers for Vesta indicate encouraging commercialization prospects. Management expects revenues from its co-packaged optics business to begin in 2027 and accelerate into 2028, providing another avenue for long-term expansion. The company’s robust order momentum and expanding backlog provide considerable revenue visibility. The company exited the fiscal third quarter with an $8.5 billion backlog, increasing $800 million sequentially. Management anticipates backlog exceeding $10 billion by fiscal 2026-end, supported by strong customer commitments extending through 2029. Direct cloud provider revenues increased more than 80% year over year, while interconnect revenues more than doubled. Growing hyperscaler investments and emerging opportunities among neoscalers are further strengthening the company's long-term growth prospects. Ciena is also benefiting from improving profitability and operating leverage. Fiscal third-quarter revenues climbed 37% year over year to $1.67 billion, while adjusted operating margin reached a record 22.5%. Adjusted earnings surged 215% to $2.11 per share. Management expects fiscal 2027 revenues to grow at least 30% to $8.3-$8.4 billion, with adjusted operating margins reaching 25-27%. Favorable product mix, pricing discipline and operational efficiencies are expected to support further margin expansion. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research However, Ciena is grappling with persistent supply constraints that could restrict its ability to fulfill accelerating customer demand. Limited availability of critical optical components is expected to keep supply and demand imbalanced through fiscal 2027 and potentially into 2028. The company is making substantial investments to secure additional capacity, which could weigh on near-term cash generation. Management expects operating cash flow to decline in the fourth quarter as payments associated with supply agreements are disbursed. These challenges could temper financial flexibility despite strong growth opportunities. CIEN’s ValuationCIEN trades at a forward 12-month price-to-earnings (P/E) of 39.51X, above the industry’s 24.13X. CSCO, GLW and ANET trade at a forward 12-month P/E of 19.4X, 28.62X and 33.09X, respectively. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research CIEN’s Upward EstimatesThe Zacks Consensus Estimate for CIEN’s earnings for fiscal 2026 has been revised upward over the past 30 days. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research What Should You Do With CIEN Stock Now?Ciena's strong backlog, rising AI-driven connectivity demand, expanding optical networking portfolio and improving profitability support its long-term growth prospects. Despite supply constraints and premium valuation, the company's upbeat outlook and upward earnings estimate revisions remain encouraging. New investors can buy CIEN stock to capitalize on its solid growth potential. Currently, Ciena sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Robbins LLP Urges CC Shareholders to Contact the Firm for Information About The Chemours Company Securities Class Action | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
, /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholder rights law firm Robbins LLP reminds investors that a class action was filed on behalf of persons or entities who purchased or otherwise acquired The Chemours Company (NYSE: CC) securities between February 20, 2026 and August 4, 2026, inclusive (the "Class Period"). Chemours offers a range of industrial and specialty chemical products for markets including, as relevant here, refrigeration and air conditioning. The Chemours Company faces allegations that it materially overstated market demand for its products. Investors who purchased Chemours securities during the Class Period and suffered significant losses should contact Robbins LLP for information about the lawsuit and the December 7, 2026 lead plaintiff motion deadline. Why Was Chemours Sued? The complaint alleges that, during the Class Period, defendants failed to disclose that: defendants had materially overstated aftermarket demand for their Opteon products;demand for such products was decreasing because of defendants' overselling Opteon products in the preceding fiscal year;as a result of these undisclosed issues, defendants' financial guidance for the 2026 fiscal year was unreliable; andas a result, defendants' public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. Why Did Chemours Stock Drop? Plaintiff alleges that on August 4, 2026, after market hours, Chemours announced second quarter 2026 financial results. Among other things, the Company reduced its adjusted EBITDA full-year guidance to $775 million to $825 million (from $800 million to $900 million previously). Further, on the accompanying earnings call, management admitted that "[a]s a result of the initial channel fill, aftermarket customers built additional inventory, creating an oversupplied channel heading into 2026." Management further disclosed "from the Q2 and Q3 perspective, there's probably about $65 million of aftermarket sales that realistically, you think about like-for-like probably should have been allocated to more of this year." On this news, Chemours's stock price fell $3.34 per share, or 18.63%, to close at $14.59 per share on August 5, 2026. Listen to Our Podcast What Can Chemours Shareholders Do Now? Investors who purchased or otherwise acquired The Chemours Company securities during the Class Period may be eligible to serve as lead plaintiff. The lead plaintiff is a court-appointed investor who represents the interests of all class members throughout the litigation. CC Shareholder Alert: Investors With Losses May Seek to Lead the Class Action in The Chemours Company Securities Lawsuit - Contact SueWallSt | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
NEW YORK, Nov. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SueWallSt notifies pension funds, asset managers, and other institutional investors in The Chemours Company (NYSE: CC) that a class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of shareholders who purchased securities between February 20, 2026 and August 4, 2026, before an 18.63% single-session decline in CC shares. Find out if you qualify to recover losses. You may also contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (888) SueWallSt.That decline removed $3.34 from each CC share on August 5, 2026, after the Company lowered its full-year adjusted EBITDA outlook. For ERISA plans and other funds weighing securities recovery, every 100,000 shares held through the disclosure lost approximately $334,000 in market value. The window to apply for lead plaintiff closes on December 7, 2026. Alleged Opteon Demand Overstatement: Case Summary The securities action alleges that Chemours overstated aftermarket demand for its Opteon refrigerants, a product line whose growth the Company linked in part to the U.S. AIM Act. As claimed, distributors had already stocked heavy inventory in 2025, and the Company reaffirmed its 2026 guidance without accounting for sales that this prebuy activity pulled forward. The pleading asserts that the outlook lacked a reasonable basis until the August 4, 2026 second quarter report reduced it. ERISA Considerations for Institutional Investor Securities Recovery Plan sponsors, endowments, and investment managers that held CC during the Class Period can monitor the case as absent class members or seek a direct role in it. For ERISA-governed plans, documenting that review may form part of a prudent process for overseeing plan assets. "Institutional investors play a critical role in securities class actions, and funds that held Chemours through the August 2026 guidance reduction may wish to assess whether their losses support a lead plaintiff application. The complaint alleges that the Company's 2026 outlook did not reflect aftermarket inventory already sitting in the distribution channel." -- Joseph E. Levi, Esq. Fiduciary Obligations and Recovery Options ERISA fiduciaries are generally expected to act prudently with plan assets, which may include assessing potential claims tied to securities losses.Courts generally presume that the movant with the largest financial interest is the most adequate lead plaintiff, a standard that often favors concentrated institutional positions.A lead plaintiff selects and supervises class counsel and oversees litigation strategy and any settlement discussions for the class.Eligibility depends on purchasing or acquiring Chemours securities between February 20, 2026 and August 4, 2026, not on whether the position is still held.Aggregating custodial and trade data across all accounts and sub-advisers helps measure total Class Period exposure. Frequently Asked Questions About the CC Lawsuit Q: When did The Chemours Company allegedly mislead investors? A: The Class Period runs from February 20, 2026 to August 4, 2026. The complaint alleges that corrective disclosures revealed information that caused a significant stock decline. Q: What court was the CC class action filed in? A: The case was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, governed by the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Q: Who are the defendants named in the CC lawsuit? A: The complaint names The Chemours Company and individual defendants including senior executives who signed SEC filings, made public statements, or certified financial disclosures under Sarbanes-Oxley. Q: What is a lead plaintiff and why does it matter? A: A lead plaintiff is the investor appointed by the court to represent the entire class. Lead plaintiffs are typically investors with the largest documented losses. Being appointed does not increase individual recovery but gives direct oversight of how the case is run. Q: What if I already sold my CC shares -- can I still recover losses? A: Yes. Eligibility is based on when you purchased, not whether you still hold the shares. Investors who bought during the Class Period and sold at a loss may still be eligible to participate. Q: What if I live outside the United States? A: U.S. securities class actions generally cover purchases on U.S. exchanges regardless of the investor's country of residence. CONTACT: Levi & Korsinsky, LLP Joseph E. What Chemours (CC) Said on Its Q3 Earnings Call | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Uranium Prices Are Near Historic Highs—So Why Hasn’t Cameco Followed?Chemours NYSE: CC said third-quarter 2026 net sales increased 3% from a year earlier, as pricing momentum in Titanium Technologies and growth in Advanced Performance Materials offset weaker demand in its Thermal & Specialized Solutions business. Adjusted EBITDA was $200 million, at the high end of the company’s guidance range, with all three businesses contributing above expectations.President and Chief Executive Officer Denise Dignam said the results reflected commercial and operational discipline amid weakening macroeconomic conditions in several key end markets. She also highlighted progress under the company’s “Pathway to Thrive” strategy, including debt reduction, asset sales, cost actions and efforts to resolve legacy litigation matters. Get Chemours alerts: Titanium Technologies pricing supports earnings Why Rising Rates Could Break the Bull Market Before AI Spending Can Save ItIn Titanium Technologies, or TT, Chemours said third-quarter performance exceeded its outlook despite persistent weakness in housing and other end markets. The company cited higher pricing and improved volumes, with strength in North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific excluding China offsetting softer demand in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and China. Global TT pricing increased 10% year over year during the quarter and improved in every region, Dignam said. About $5 million of third-quarter earnings benefited from sales and cost timing that will shift into the fourth quarter. 4 Small-Cap Stocks With Paths to Recovery After the Fed's September Rate HikeFor the fourth quarter, Chemours expects TT net sales to decline sequentially in the high-single-digit to low-teens percentage range and adjusted EBITDA of $60 million to $65 million. The outlook reflects normal seasonality, weaker demand and the reversal of third-quarter timing benefits. The company expects pricing to remain up high single digits from the prior year following three announced price increases over the past year. Dignam said Chemours remains focused on managing production to demand, reducing costs and protecting the value of its Ti-Pure products. She also said the company will “aggressively defend” the U.S. market against unfair trade practices, while noting that imports of titanium dioxide into the U.S. remain modest compared with other regions. APM gains from performance solutions demand Advanced Performance Materials, or APM, delivered year-over-year sales, earnings and margin improvement, supported by pricing, volumes and a shift toward higher-value products. Performance Solutions sales rose 26% from a year earlier and 8% sequentially. Dignam said demand from AI infrastructure, data centers and semiconductor customers remained strong. Products used in data-center and semiconductor applications now account for nearly half of Performance Solutions, according to the company. Chemours expects APM net sales to increase sequentially in the low- to mid-teens percentage range in the fourth quarter, with adjusted EBITDA of $40 million to $45 million. The company attributed the outlook to continued Performance Solutions strength, higher sales and manufacturing cost and operational improvements. Chief Financial Officer Shane Hostetter said the elevated fourth-quarter outlook includes some pent-up demand after operational issues earlier in the year. He said Chemours continues to view $30 million to $40 million in quarterly APM adjusted EBITDA as an expected range entering 2027. The company also launched its Faizeon portfolio of two-phase liquid cooling fluids for AI infrastructure. Dignam said Chemours sees liquid cooling as a strategic market with significant long-term growth potential and is working with customers on potential two-phase data-center architectures beginning in 2027. TSS faces seasonal aftermarket softness Thermal & Specialized Solutions, or TSS, experienced the anticipated weakness in the North American stationary air-conditioning aftermarket. Demand for Opteon blends declined from the prior-year period, which had benefited from initial distributor channel filling associated with the U.S. AIM Act technology transition. Lower aftermarket volume and higher input costs weighed on the segment. Dignam said sulfur was the primary source of higher input costs, but that pricing actions had helped offset the impact. She said the company does not currently expect further changes in those raw-material inputs. For the fourth quarter, Chemours expects TSS net sales to decline sequentially in the high-teens to low-20% range as the North American cooling season ends. The company forecast adjusted EBITDA of $105 million to $115 million, primarily reflecting seasonal volume and mix effects. Management said it has seen some positive order activity in the fourth quarter, but expects better visibility into aftermarket demand toward the end of the first quarter of 2027, when seasonal restocking activity becomes clearer. Chemours said it remains confident in TSS’s longer-term prospects, citing its position with HVAC equipment manufacturers and aftermarket distributors, its low-global-warming-potential refrigerant portfolio and intellectual-property protections extending into the 2030s. Cash flow outlook reduced as company advances settlements and debt reduction Chemours now expects full-year net sales to increase about 2% compared with 2025 and adjusted EBITDA of $775 million to $800 million. The company expects 2026 free-cash-flow conversion of 15% to 20%, with capital expenditures of $220 million to $230 million. Hostetter said the cash-flow outlook was reduced by restricted cash related to PFAS insurance proceeds, legal settlement payments, net working-capital timing, turnaround plans in APM and transaction taxes tied to the sale of the company’s former Kuan Yin property. The company expects payments related to its North Carolina settlement and an EPA settlement in the fourth quarter. During the third quarter, Chemours prepaid an additional €50 million of its euro term loan B, bringing year-to-date debt reduction to €280 million. It also completed the sale of the final parcel associated with its former Kuan Yin manufacturing site, receiving approximately $56 million of remaining consideration. Chemours expects its net leverage ratio to be below 4.2 times adjusted EBITDA at the end of 2026. The company said it reached a settlement with North Carolina and 11 local entities over PFAS and other discharge claims connected to, and unrelated to, its Fayetteville Works site. It also received final approval of a Judicial Consent Order with New Jersey. Dignam said related settlement funding is expected to occur over decades under an agreement involving the company’s memorandum-of-understanding partners. Looking toward 2027, Chemours expects uncertain macroeconomic conditions to continue but said it anticipates earnings growth, supported by cost measures, operating improvements and demand in selected high-value markets. Buy These 4 Low-Beta Defensive Stocks to Dodge Ongoing Market Volatility | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways ETR, EVRG, DEO and LW offer defensive exposure amid persistent Wall Street volatility.ETR and EVRG benefit from utility operations, with beta of 0.40 and 0.49, respectively.DEO and LW offer earnings growth prospects, and dividend yields of 2.48% and 2.81%, respectively.Volatility continues on Wall Street, with November starting on a disappointing note as tech stocks tumbled again, with investors’ concerns growing over the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. AI stocks have largely been responsible for the broader market rally over the past two years, but disappointing quarterly results from a batch of tech giants have reignited fears of an AI bubble burst. The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady after its October policy meeting and consumer confidence improved marginally last month, but the overall sentiment remains low as inflation remains stubbornly high. Given this situation, it would be wise to buy defensive stocks from the utility and consumer staples sector, namely Entergy Corporation (ETR - Free Report) , Evergy, Inc. (EVRG - Free Report) , Diageo plc (DEO - Free Report) and Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. (LW - Free Report) . Wall Street Volatility ContinuesThe tech-heavy Nasdaq slid 1.1% on Monday, the first trading day of the month, to finish at 25,164.32 points after ending in the red in the prior month. Investors have been weighing in the potential of AI-related stocks and rotating out of the tech space following disappointing quarterly results from some big players. Monday’s decline came as the Nasdaq ended October 5.3% lower, recording its worst month since March 2025. The Fed left interest rates unchanged at its current range of 3.75-4% at the end of its two-day FOMC meeting last week but didn’t rule out chances of future rate hikes. Inflation remains elevated as surging oil prices due to the ongoing Middle East conflict have resulted in higher commodity prices. The consumer price index (CPI) jumped 0.6% month over month in September, after advancing 0.4% in August. Year over year, CPI climbed 3.7% in September after advancing 3.4% in August. Consumer confidence improved marginally in October. The consumer confidence index rose to 91.7 in October from an upwardly revised 84.2 in the prior month, the Conference Board said. However, it still remains sharply low from the year-ago levels. The Federal Reserve is likely to go for another interest rate hike before the end of this year as it struggles to tame inflation. This could further impact the spending power of consumers. 4 Low-Beta Defensive Stocks With UpsideEntergy CorporationEntergy Corporation is primarily engaged in electric power production and retail distribution of power. These 2 Retail and Wholesale Stocks Could Beat Earnings: Why They Should Be on Your Radar | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Two factors often determine stock prices in the long run: earnings and interest rates. Investors can't control the latter, but they can focus on a company's earnings results every quarter. We know earnings results are vital, but how a company performs compared to bottom line expectations can be even more important when it comes to stock prices, especially in the near-term. This means that investors might want to take advantage of these earnings surprises. Hunting for 'earnings whispers' or companies poised to beat their quarterly earnings estimates is a somewhat common practice. But that doesn't make it easy. One way that has been proven to work is by using the Zacks Earnings ESP tool. The Zacks Earnings ESP, ExplainedThe Zacks Earnings ESP is more formally known as the Expected Surprise Prediction, and it aims to grab the inside track on the latest analyst estimate revisions ahead of a company's report. The idea is relatively intuitive as a newer projection might be based on more complete information. With this in mind, the Expected Surprise Prediction compares the Most Accurate Estimate (being the most recent) against the overall Zacks Consensus Estimate. The percentage difference provides the ESP figure. The system also utilizes our core Zacks Rank to provide a stronger system for identifying stocks that might beat their next quarterly earnings estimate and possibly see the stock price climb. Bringing together a positive earnings ESP alongside a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) or better has helped stocks report a positive earnings surprise 70% of the time. Furthermore, by using these parameters, investors have seen 28.3% annual returns on average, according to our 10 year backtest. Most stocks, about 60%, fall into the #3 (Hold) category, and they are expected to perform in-line with the broader market. Stocks with a #2 (Buy) and #1 (Strong Buy) rating, or the top 15% and top 5% of stocks, respectively, should outperform the market, with Strong Buy stocks outperforming more than any other rank. Should You Consider Ulta Beauty? Now that we understand what the ESP is and how beneficial it can be, let's dive into a stock that currently fits the bill. Ulta Beauty (ULTA - Free Report) earns a #3 (Hold) right now and its Most Accurate Estimate sits at $5.70 a share, just 30 days from its upcoming earnings release on December 3, 2026. ULTA has an Earnings ESP figure of +1.84%, which, as explained above, is calculated by taking the percentage difference between the $5.70 Most Accurate Estimate and the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5.6. Ulta Beauty is one of a large database of stocks with positive ESPs. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported. ULTA is one of just a large database of Retail and Wholesale stocks with positive ESPs. Another solid-looking stock is Starbucks (SBUX - Free Report) . Slated to report earnings on January 27, 2027, Starbucks holds a #3 (Hold) ranking on the Zacks Rank, and its Most Accurate Estimate is $0.76 a share 85 days from its next quarterly update. Starbucks' Earnings ESP figure currently stands at +1.10% after taking the percentage difference between its Most Accurate Estimate and its Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.75. Because both stocks hold a positive Earnings ESP, ULTA and SBUX could potentially post earnings beats in their next reports. Find Stocks to Buy or Sell Before They're ReportedUse the Zacks Earnings ESP Filter to turn up stocks with the highest probability of positively, or negatively, surprising to buy or sell before they're reported for profitable earnings season trading. Brokers Suggest Investing in Okta (OKTA): Read This Before Placing a Bet | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Investors often turn to recommendations made by Wall Street analysts before making a Buy, Sell, or Hold decision about a stock. While media reports about rating changes by these brokerage-firm employed (or sell-side) analysts often affect a stock's price, do they really matter? Before we discuss the reliability of brokerage recommendations and how to use them to your advantage, let's see what these Wall Street heavyweights think about Okta (OKTA - Free Report) . Okta currently has an average brokerage recommendation (ABR) of 1.45, on a scale of 1 to 5 (Strong Buy to Strong Sell), calculated based on the actual recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell, etc.) made by 42 brokerage firms. An ABR of 1.45 approximates between Strong Buy and Buy. Of the 42 recommendations that derive the current ABR, 31 are Strong Buy and three are Buy. Strong Buy and Buy respectively account for 73.8% and 7.1% of all recommendations. Brokerage Recommendation Trends for OKTA Check price target & stock forecast for Okta here>>> While the ABR calls for buying Okta, it may not be wise to make an investment decision solely based on this information. In other words, their interests aren't always aligned with retail investors, rarely indicating where the price of a stock could actually be heading. Therefore, the best use of this information could be validating your own research or an indicator that has proven to be highly successful in predicting a stock's price movement. Zacks Rank, our proprietary stock rating tool with an impressive externally audited track record, categorizes stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), and is an effective indicator of a stock's price performance in the near future. Therefore, using the ABR to validate the Zacks Rank could be an efficient way of making a profitable investment decision. ABR Should Not Be Confused With Zacks RankIn spite of the fact that Zacks Rank and ABR both appear on a scale from 1 to 5, they are two completely different measures. Analysts employed by brokerage firms have been and continue to be overly optimistic with their recommendations. Since the ratings issued by these analysts are more favorable than their research would support because of the vested interest of their employers, they mislead investors far more often than they guide. In contrast, the Zacks Rank is driven by earnings estimate revisions. And near-term stock price movements are strongly correlated with trends in earnings estimate revisions, according to empirical research. Furthermore, the different grades of the Zacks Rank are applied proportionately across all stocks for which brokerage analysts provide earnings estimates for the current year. In other words, at all times, this tool maintains a balance among the five ranks it assigns. Is OKTA a Good Investment?Looking at the earnings estimate revisions for Okta, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year has remained unchanged over the past month at $3.93. Analysts' steady views regarding the company's earnings prospects, as indicated by an unchanged consensus estimate, could be a legitimate reason for the stock to perform in line with the broader market in the near term. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for Okta. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> It may therefore be prudent to be a little cautious with the Buy-equivalent ABR for Okta. |

AMD Advances 5%, Intel Rises 4%, Marvell Gains 2% as Chip Stocks Bounce Ahead of AMD Earnings | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Chip stocks are bouncing hard ahead of AMD's quarterly report, but Intel's brutal guidance already proved a strong earnings beat means nothing if the outlook disappoints. Find out what AMD needs to deliver to keep the rebound alive.Chip stocks are clawing back ground after a punishing selloff, and Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD | AMD Price Prediction) has the group’s next big test in its third-quarter report. AMD stock is at $489.82, up 5% in early action. The chipmaker closed the prior session at $466.84. Over the past month, AMD stock is down 23%. AMD will release its Q3 2026 results after the close on November 3. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) is also trading higher, a sign that the rebound after a steep slide runs across the sector. Market participants are also weighing the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) report and the midterm elections. Intel’s Weak Outlook Sparked the Chip Rout Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) set off the slide on October 29, when the company guided its Q4 2026 revenue to a range of $15 billion to $16 billion. Per Yahoo Finance, analysts had projected $17 billion. Chief executive Lip-Bu Tan pointed to a worse-than-expected PC slump at Intel and said the tough environment will continue “until memory availability and prices begin to normalize.” Shares of Intel fell on October 30 and slid again on November 2, pulling AMD lower on both days. The PC warning hurt AMD because the company sells Ryzen processors into the same desktop and notebook market. Today, INTC stock is up 4% to $62.11. Intel and Marvell Join AMD’s Rebound On October 29, when Intel reported its Q3 2026 results, the stock traded at $93.09. Management expects the PC slowdown at Intel to last through at least the first half of 2027, and that business carries more weight in Intel’s results than it does at AMD. Meanwhile, Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) stock is at $174.53, up 2%. Marvell is rallying even after Bank of America downgraded the stock to Neutral and cut its price target to $225 from $400. The firm cited the company’s all-stock agreement to buy Lumentum Holdings (NASDAQ:LITE), a deal announced on November 2. What AMD Must Deliver After the Close Per Bloomberg, consensus calls for AMD to post Q3 earnings per share (EPS) of $1.97 on revenue of $13 billion. Yahoo Finance’s consensus puts AMD Data Center sales at $8.19 billion, up 88% year over year. AMD disclosed on August 4 that its Data Center revenue reached $6.72 billion in Q2 2026, or 58% of its total. That mix limits AMD’s PC exposure, though the company isn’t immune if the slump deepens in its Client segment. Morgan Stanley raised its price target on AMD to $510 from $465 while keeping an Equal weight rating. Traders are split on whether a beat and strong guidance from AMD can steady the sector, or whether caution weighs on the stock even if the company beats. Three Different Paths Into the AI Chip Boom AMD designs CPUs, GPUs and rack-scale AI systems, competing with NVIDIA in accelerators and with Intel in processors. Intel takes a different path by designing chips and also manufacturing them, with a foundry business that builds for outside customers. Marvell is a fabless company that relies on manufacturing partners and focuses on custom silicon and connectivity for data centers. This focus ties Marvell closely to hyperscaler spending plans, while AMD and Intel lean more on selling their own branded processors. Investors looking beyond the big three chip names should remember that the AI expansion runs on power, cooling, and networking too (we featured seven of those suppliers in a free report you can grab here). Can AMD’s Report Steady Chip Stocks? AMD’s challenge is whether its Data Center results and outlook give the sector a reason to look past Intel’s PC warning. Investors on the bullish side can cite the consensus revenue figure and the company’s Anthropic partnership. The bears note that Intel topped earnings estimates and still sank on a weak outlook, a pattern that could repeat at AMD if its guidance falls short. A cautious approach could make sense until the debate over AMD’s outlook resolves. Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections. |

lululemon athletica inc. (LULU) Is a Trending Stock: Facts to Know Before Betting on It | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Lululemon (LULU - Free Report) has been one of the most searched-for stocks on Zacks.com lately. So, you might want to look at some of the facts that could shape the stock's performance in the near term.Over the past month, shares of this athletic apparel maker have returned +15.8%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's -2.3% change. During this period, the Zacks Textile - Apparel industry, which Lululemon falls in, has gained 15.4%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction? While media releases or rumors about a substantial change in a company's business prospects usually make its stock 'trending' and lead to an immediate price change, there are always some fundamental facts that eventually dominate the buy-and-hold decision-making. Revisions to Earnings EstimatesRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings. We essentially look at how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to reflect the impact of the latest business trends. And if earnings estimates go up for a company, the fair value for its stock goes up. A higher fair value than the current market price drives investors' interest in buying the stock, leading to its price moving higher. This is why empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements. Lululemon is expected to post earnings of $0.97 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of -62.6%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged. The consensus earnings estimate of $9.55 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of -28%. This estimate has remained unchanged over the last 30 days. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $8.62 indicates a change of -9.7% from what Lululemon is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has remained unchanged. Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, Lululemon is rated Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell). The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate: 12 Month EPS Projected Revenue GrowthEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial. In the case of Lululemon, the consensus sales estimate of $2.31 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of -10%. The $10.5 billion and $10.58 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of -5.2% and +0.8%, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryLululemon reported revenues of $2.42 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of -4.3%. EPS of $2.06 for the same period compares with $3.1 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.47 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of -2.07%. The EPS surprise was +15.08%. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters. The company topped consensus revenue estimates three times over this period. ValuationWithout considering a stock's valuation, no investment decision can be efficient. In predicting a stock's future price performance, it's crucial to determine whether its current price correctly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects. While comparing the current values of a company's valuation multiples, such as price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), with its own historical values helps determine whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of the reasonability of the stock's price. The Zacks Value Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which pays close attention to both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics to grade stocks from A to F (an A is better than a B; a B is better than a C; and so on), is pretty helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued. Lululemon is graded B on this front, indicating that it is trading at a discount to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Lululemon. However, its Zacks Rank #5 does suggest that it may underperform the broader market in the near term. |
