Pfizer Stock Trades Flat Following Mixed Phase 3 Lung Cancer Trial Data | FMP Stock News

Original source text
Pfizer stock is showing downward bias. Where is PFE stock headed? What Are the Latest Phase 3 Results for Pfizer?Pfizer also flagged that an exploratory analysis failed to show a clear relationship between integrin beta-6 (IB6) expression levels and treatment response, keeping the "who benefits" question open. Detailed trial findings are expected at a future medical meeting, which can become the next sentiment checkpoint for the program.Critical Price Levels to Watch for PFE StockAt $24.77, the stock is trading below every major moving average tracked here—about 3.8% under the 20-day SMA ($25.74), 5.3% under the 50-day SMA ($26.16), 7% under the 100-day SMA ($26.65), and 4.3% under the 200-day SMA ($25.88). That "below the stack" posture keeps rallies more likely to run into supply until price can reclaim at least the 20-day/200-day zone. MACD is the cleaner momentum read right now: it’s below its signal line with a negative histogram, which typically means upside pressure is fading versus the prior upswing unless buyers can reassert control. Structurally, the longer-term backdrop is mixed—there’s still a golden cross from October 2025 (50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA), but the nearer-term crossover has turned bearish with the 20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA. Key Resistance: $27.50 — a round-number area above the main moving-average cluster where rebounds can stall Key Support: $24.00 — a nearby round-number level just above the 52-week low zone ($23.11) where buyers may try to defend What Is Pfizer and How Does It Operate?Pfizer is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical firms, with annual sales of roughly $60 billion. Today, prescription drugs and vaccines make up most of its business, and its scale means pipeline updates can matter even when they don’t immediately change near-term revenue. Top sellers include the pneumococcal vaccine Prevnar 13 and cardiology drugs Vyndaqel and Eliquis, and the company sells globally with international markets representing about 40% of total sales. In that context, mixed oncology readouts like SigVie-002 tend to be judged on whether they expand the long runway—Pfizer is also evaluating sigvotatug vedotin in a Phase 3 combination study with pembrolizumab in first-line advanced NSCLC. Pfizer Benzinga Edge Rankings: Strengths and WeaknessesBelow is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Pfizer, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market: The Verdict: Pfizer’s Benzinga Edge signal reveals a weaker-tilted profile, led by soft Momentum and Growth scores. For longer-term bulls, the chart likely needs to reclaim key moving averages to improve the momentum backdrop, while bears will focus on whether $24.00 holds on any risk-off tape. Former Cisco AI Defense Builders Launch Tenet Security, Raise $6 Million to Prevent Attacks on Enterprise AI Agents | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Emerging from Stealth, Tenet uses patent-pending Agent-side Simulation technology to predict and stop malicious AI agent behavior in real time before it reaches enterprise systemsWILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tenet Security, a cybersecurity company focused on securing autonomous AI agents, today emerged from stealth with $6 million in seed funding led by The Westly Group, an early investor in SentinelOne, and MizMaa Ventures. The company is built around a patent-pending technology called Agent-side Simulation, which predicts and simulates an agent’s likely next actions before they execute against production systems. If a path appears risky, Tenet can intervene before damage occurs while providing a trace explaining why the action was blocked. Founded by veteran offensive security researchers Barak Sternberg and Nevo Poran, Tenet was created to address a growing challenge facing enterprises: AI agents are increasingly being granted access to critical systems, data, and workflows, while existing security tools lack visibility into what those agents actually do once deployed. Traditional security tools can monitor users, endpoints, or prompts, but often lack visibility into how agents behave once they begin taking actions on their own. As organizations move beyond chatbots and begin deploying autonomous agents capable of writing code, accessing databases, interacting with applications, and making decisions on their own, security teams are struggling to monitor and control these new machine identities in real time. "AI agents may be the biggest productivity unlock enterprises have seen in decades, which is why organizations are moving so quickly to deploy them," said Barak Sternberg, co-founder and CEO of Tenet Security. "But we're also entering a world where autonomous agents are interacting with systems, data, and other agents in ways most security tools were never designed to understand. That creates an entirely new security layer that requires a fundamentally different approach to protection." Before launching Tenet, Sternberg and Poran helped build Cisco's AI Defense and led some of the company's early work on threats targeting autonomous AI systems. Prior to Cisco, the pair founded Wild Pointer, a cybersecurity company that served Fortune 500 customers and scaled to a seven-figure annual revenue business. Both founders are speakers at major security conferences, including DEF CON and Black Hat. As enterprises rushed to deploy AI agents, Sternberg and Poran became convinced that existing security tools were largely blind to what those agents actually do once they're put to work. The founders concluded that the industry's biggest AI security challenge would not be protecting models, but controlling what autonomous agents do after they are granted access to real systems, data, and workflows. That conviction ultimately led them to leave and launch Tenet Security. Tenet's goal is to help enterprises deploy autonomous agents at scale without introducing unmanaged security risk, giving security teams greater confidence to support AI adoption across the organization. Its platform is focused on securing AI agents at runtime and is designed to prevent threats, including unauthorized access, data exfiltration, agent manipulation, and what the company calls "Agentjacking,” where malicious instructions embedded in emails, logs, documents, databases, or other data sources can adversely change an agent's behavior with potentially catastrophic effects. Unlike traditional security tools that generate alerts after suspicious activity occurs, Tenet is designed to intervene before an agent's action is executed. The company's launch follows research from Tenet Threat Labs demonstrating Agentjacking, a new class of attack that manipulates AI agents into executing attacker-controlled actions. In testing, the research team validated the technique across more than 100 enterprise environments and found thousands of organizations potentially exposed through publicly accessible attack paths. According to Tenet, the technique operated without triggering traditional security controls because the agents were acting within their authorized permissions. Tenet says early deployments have already demonstrated the operational challenges organizations face as AI agent usage expands. One $1 billion ARR legal-sector enterprise increased its use of AI agents from two deployments to more than twenty over a six-month period while using Tenet's platform. According to the company, more than ten attempted attacks, including a critical XSS attack, were detected and blocked during that period. In another Fortune 1000 enterprise deployment, Tenet identified a runaway AI agent generating tens of thousands of dollars in unnecessary token consumption over a single weekend before it could be scaled more broadly. “We're increasingly seeing AI agents become part of the attack path itself," said Nevo Poran, co-founder and CTO of Tenet Security. "Attackers can manipulate agents to access sensitive data, abuse privileges, or take actions on their behalf in ways traditional security tools were never designed to detect. The challenge isn't simply monitoring prompts or API traffic, but understanding and controlling agent behavior in real time. The only place left to catch these threats is at runtime, in the moment an agent decides to act,” Poran added. The funding will support continued product development, expansion of Tenet Threat Labs, growth of the company's North American go-to-market operations, and broader coverage across emerging AI agent frameworks and enterprise environments. Tenet enters the market as enterprise adoption of autonomous AI agents accelerates. According to the company, organizations have as many as 5x more AI agents running than security teams realize, creating visibility and governance challenges that traditional security controls were not designed to address. The company is advised by David Schwed, former CISO of Robinhood; Rick Scott, former CISO of BNY; Israel Bryski, former CISO of MIO Partners; Tomer Schwartz, co-founder at Dazz; Lior Tal, former CEO of Coralogix; and other cybersecurity and enterprise technology leaders. Tenet Security is headquartered in North America and works with enterprises deploying AI agents across development, operations, and business workflows. About Tenet Security Tenet Security is the security platform for the agentic layer. The company helps enterprises discover, assess, and protect autonomous AI agents operating across their environments. Founded by veteran offensive security researchers Barak Sternberg and Nevo Poran, Tenet enables organizations to deploy AI agents at scale by providing visibility, runtime protection, and threat prevention for agent-driven workflows. |

Todd Carriker, CEO of Rhino Networks, Addresses Cisco's Unified Networking Strategy for SMB Market | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
ASHEVILLE, NC, June 18, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ASHEVILLE, NC - June 18, 2026 - -Rhino Networks, LLC, a Cisco Meraki preferred partner, today shared insights from its leadership regarding Cisco's ongoing convergence of traditional networking and cloud-managed Meraki platforms into a unified portfolio, highlighting significant implications for small and medium-sized businesses navigating network modernization decisions. Todd Carriker CEO of the company, addressed how Cisco's evolving strategy represents a fundamental shift in enterprise networking that has been developing since Cisco acquired Meraki over a decade ago. The convergence now manifests in newer product lines, including WiFi 7 access points and Catalyst 9350 switches, where the same hardware supports both Meraki cloud dashboard management and traditional on-premises Cisco management tools. "The unification of Cisco's networking portfolio represents a pivotal moment for organizations evaluating their infrastructure strategies," stated Todd Carriker, CEO of Rhino Networks. "For the first time, businesses can select hardware without being locked into a specific management paradigm, allowing them to adapt their network management approach as their needs evolve. This flexibility is particularly valuable for SMBs that may start with cloud management but later require on-premises capabilities as they scale." The Todd Carriker profile in the networking industry reflects extensive experience helping organizations navigate complex technology transitions. His perspective comes as businesses face increasing pressure to modernize their networks while maintaining operational flexibility and cost efficiency. Historically, organizations faced a binary choice between Meraki's cloud-managed simplicity and Cisco's traditional enterprise-grade control. This separation often complicated procurement decisions and limited future flexibility. The new unified approach eliminates these constraints, enabling organizations to change management models without replacing hardware investments. Todd Carriker's company Rhino Networks has observed firsthand how this convergence impacts deployment decisions across various industry sectors. The company specializes in helping organizations implement Cisco Meraki solutions and has maintained a 95 percent customer retention rate through its focus on comprehensive support and strategic guidance. "SMBs are particularly well-positioned to benefit from this unified approach because it removes the traditional barriers between entry-level and enterprise-grade networking," added Carriker. "Organizations can now start with simplified cloud management and transition to more complex configurations as their requirements mature, all while maintaining the same hardware foundation." The timing of these developments aligns with broader industry trends toward flexible consumption models and hybrid management approaches. According to Cisco's projections, 45 percent of the company's market opportunity by 2025 will involve managed services delivery, representing a $113 billion total addressable market. Rhino Networks continues to expand its capabilities to support customers through this transition. The company offers comprehensive services including networking device sales, systems management, Cisco Meraki licensing, and deployment services. As an authorized reseller, Rhino Networks pre-configures equipment in transit, ensuring devices arrive ready for immediate deployment. The company's engineering team provides expertise in cloud security, deployment services, and maintains a two-hour response guarantee during business hours for customer support needs. ### For more information about Rhino Networks, LLC, contact the company here: Rhino Networks, LLC Todd Carriker 855 462 9434 [email protected] Asheville, NC |

Datadog vs. Cisco: Which Observability Stock is the Better Buy? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways DDOG is expanding its platform and AI observability capabilities, supporting customer adoption.CSCO strengthened observability through Splunk, growing ARR and subscription revenue.DDOG trades at a valuation premium to Cisco despite both benefiting from observability demand. Datadog (DDOG - Free Report) and Cisco Systems (CSCO - Free Report) are key players in the growing observability market, helping enterprises monitor and optimize complex IT environments. As cloud adoption, AI workloads and digital transformation initiatives accelerate, organizations are generating larger volumes of infrastructure, application and security data, driving demand for real-time monitoring and analytics solutions.Observability platforms have become essential for maintaining performance, reliability and security across modern technology stacks. While Datadog offers a cloud-native observability platform, Cisco has strengthened its position through the Splunk acquisition, expanding its reach across observability, security and AI operations. Both companies are well-positioned to capitalize on the expanding observability opportunity. Let's examine the fundamentals and growth drivers of both companies to determine which stock offers a better long-term investment opportunity. The Case for DDOGDatadog continues to strengthen its position in observability through a platform expansion strategy that is driving higher customer adoption and spending. DDOG offers 26 products spanning infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, log management, security and AI observability. This breadth has supported cross-selling momentum, with five products generating more than $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and three additional products contributing between $50 million and $100 million in ARR. Total ARR surpassed $4 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, highlighting the increasing scale of the platform. DDOG has been benefiting from strong enterprise demand. Revenues for first-quarter of fiscal 2026 increased 32% year over year, while free cash flow margin remained at 29%. Growth has been broad-based, with the non-AI customer cohort accelerating to the mid-20% range, indicating that demand extends beyond AI-native customers. AI observability is emerging as a key catalyst. Datadog has expanded its capabilities through GPU Monitoring, LLM Observability and Bits AI offerings, enabling customers to manage complex AI environments. Adoption trends remain encouraging, with Datadog MCP Server tool calls quadrupling sequentially during the fiscal first quarter. DDOG is expanding security observability capabilities to address AI-specific threats while introducing deployment options that help customers meet data residency and compliance requirements. Further growth is expected to be supported by FedRAMP High certification and a planned U.K. data center expansion. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 revenues is pegged at $4.31 billion, indicating 25.7% year-over-year growth. The Case for CSCOCisco has been strengthening its observability position through the integration of Splunk, enabling it to offer a broader platform spanning observability and security analytics. Unlike Datadog, Cisco benefits from a large installed base across networking, data center and security infrastructure, creating opportunities to embed observability capabilities deeper within enterprise environments. This integrated approach is expected to support cross-selling and customer retention as organizations increasingly seek unified visibility across their IT operations. CSCO has also been benefiting from strong enterprise technology spending trends. In the third quarter of fiscal 2026, revenues increased 12% year over year to $15.8 billion, while product orders grew 35% year over year, reflecting broad-based demand across enterprise, public sector and cloud customers. Cisco's recurring revenue profile continues to strengthen, with ARR reaching $31.2 billion and subscription revenues accounting for 49% of total revenues. Agentic security observability is emerging as a key catalyst. Cisco has been expanding capabilities that combine observability, threat detection and automated response across enterprise environments. Hypershield and AI Defense extend visibility across AI deployments, while the pending acquisitions of Galileo and Astrix are expected to add agentic identity, access management and behavior monitoring capabilities, strengthening the company's observability and security portfolio. Further growth is likely to be supported by Cisco's expanding software mix, strong cash generation and deep enterprise relationships. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 revenues is pegged at $62.95 billion, indicating 11.11% year-over-year growth. DDOG vs. CSCO: Price Performance and ValuationYear to date, shares of CSCO have jumped 55.2%, trailing DDOG's 64% return. Both stocks have benefited from strong AI-related demand, with Datadog's gain led by its AI observability catalysts and Cisco's supported by its broader networking, security and AI infrastructure base. DDOG Outperforms CSCO YTD Image Source: Zacks Investment Research DDOG currently trades at a forward 12-month price-to-sales (P/S) multiple of 16.86X, well above CSCO’s 7.01X. Datadog's premium to Cisco appears difficult to justify given Cisco's expanding observability footprint through Splunk, larger recurring revenue base, broader enterprise reach and growing software subscription business. DDOG Vs CSCO : Forward 12-Month P/S Valuation Image Source: Zacks Investment Research ConclusionBoth Datadog and Cisco are well-positioned to capitalize on the growing observability opportunity. While Datadog continues to deliver robust growth, Cisco has significantly strengthened its position through the integration of Splunk. Given its larger recurring revenue base, broader enterprise footprint and more attractive valuation, CSCO appears to offer a more compelling investment opportunity than DDOG. DDOG and CSCO carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) each at present. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here. |

Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) Is a Trending Stock: Facts to Know Before Betting on It | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Cisco Systems (CSCO - Free Report) has been one of the most searched-for stocks on Zacks.com lately. So, you might want to look at some of the facts that could shape the stock's performance in the near term.Shares of this seller of routers, switches, software and services have returned +0.9% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +0.1% change. The Zacks Computer - Networking industry, to which Cisco belongs, has gained 1.1% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term? Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision. Revisions to Earnings EstimatesRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings. We essentially look at how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to reflect the impact of the latest business trends. And if earnings estimates go up for a company, the fair value for its stock goes up. A higher fair value than the current market price drives investors' interest in buying the stock, leading to its price moving higher. This is why empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements. For the current quarter, Cisco is expected to post earnings of $1.17 per share, indicating a change of +18.2% from the year-ago quarter. The Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged over the last 30 days. For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $4.28 points to a change of +12.3% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed +0.5%. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $4.73 indicates a change of +10.6% from what Cisco is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +1.2%. Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, Cisco is rated Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate: 12 Month EPS Projected Revenue GrowthWhile earnings growth is arguably the most superior indicator of a company's financial health, nothing happens as such if a business isn't able to grow its revenues. After all, it's nearly impossible for a company to increase its earnings for an extended period without increasing its revenues. So, it's important to know a company's potential revenue growth. In the case of Cisco, the consensus sales estimate of $16.85 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +14.9%. The $62.95 billion and $67.75 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +11.1% and +7.6%, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryCisco reported revenues of $15.84 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +12%. EPS of $1.06 for the same period compares with $0.96 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $15.58 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +1.71%. The EPS surprise was +1.92%. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters. The company topped consensus revenue estimates each time over this period. ValuationWithout considering a stock's valuation, no investment decision can be efficient. In predicting a stock's future price performance, it's crucial to determine whether its current price correctly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects. While comparing the current values of a company's valuation multiples, such as price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), with its own historical values helps determine whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of the reasonability of the stock's price. As part of the Zacks Style Scores system, the Zacks Value Style Score (which evaluates both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics) organizes stocks into five groups ranging from A to F (A is better than B; B is better than C; and so on), making it helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued. Cisco is graded F on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Cisco. However, its Zacks Rank #2 does suggest that it may outperform the broader market in the near term. |

Supreme Court dismisses Falun Gong lawsuit accusing Cisco of helping China persecute religious movement | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a ruling that limits the use of a federal law to hold U.S. corporations liable for human rights abuses abroad when it dismissed a lawsuit that accused Cisco Systems of aiding the Chinese government's religious persecution of the Falun Gong movement. The 6-3 ruling reversed a lower court's decision that had allowed a lawsuit filed by Falun Gong members in 2011 under the Alien Tort Statute of 1789. The suit alleged that Cisco knowingly developed technology that enabled China's government to surveil and persecute Falun Gong members. The Alien Tort Statute had been effectively dormant for nearly 200 years before lawyers started to use it in the 1980s to bring international human rights cases, and the Cisco suit questioned whether it can be used to hold corporations liable if they "aid and abet" human rights abuses through "accomplice liability." TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PLANS NEW TARIFFS ON 60 TRADING PARTNERS OVER FORCED LABOR IMPORT ENFORCEMENT FAILURES The Supreme Court dismissed the lawsuit accusing Cisco of aiding the persecution of Falun Gong in China. (Reuters/Evelyn Hockstein) The Falun Gong movement was founded in China in 1992, and was banned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1999, after thousands of the group's members appeared at the central leadership compound in Beijing to stage a silent protest. The group has called for its members to denounce the CCP and has been heavily critical of its leadership in China. Justice Amy Coney Barrett authored the majority opinion which supported Cisco's argument that the law doesn't support holding companies liable for aiding and abetting human rights abuses. "Courts cannot create new rights of action to remedy violations of international law, so there is necessarily no liability for aiding and abetting such violations," Barrett wrote as the ruling dismissed the claims against Cisco. The Supreme Court's ruling split the justices along ideological lines, with the six conservative justices in the majority and the three liberals dissenting. W.P. Carey (WPC) Upgraded to Buy: Here's Why | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
W.P. Carey (WPC - Free Report) appears an attractive pick, as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). This upgrade primarily reflects an upward trend in earnings estimates, which is one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices. The Zacks rating relies solely on a company's changing earnings picture. It tracks EPS estimates for the current and following years from the sell-side analysts covering the stock through a consensus measure -- the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Individual investors often find it hard to make decisions based on rating upgrades by Wall Street analysts, since these are mostly driven by subjective factors that are hard to see and measure in real time. In these situations, the Zacks rating system comes in handy because of the power of a changing earnings picture in determining near-term stock price movements. Therefore, the Zacks rating upgrade for W.P. Carey basically reflects positivity about its earnings outlook that could translate into buying pressure and an increase in its stock price. Most Powerful Force Impacting Stock PricesThe change in a company's future earnings potential, as reflected in earnings estimate revisions, has proven to be strongly correlated with the near-term price movement of its stock. The influence of institutional investors has a partial contribution to this relationship, as these big professionals use earnings and earnings estimates to calculate the fair value of a company's shares. An increase or decrease in earnings estimates in their valuation models simply results in higher or lower fair value for a stock, and institutional investors typically buy or sell it. Their transaction of large amounts of shares then leads to price movement for the stock. Fundamentally speaking, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade for W.P. Carey imply an improvement in the company's underlying business. Investors should show their appreciation for this improving business trend by pushing the stock higher. Harnessing the Power of Earnings Estimate RevisionsEmpirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock movements, so it could be truly rewarding if such revisions are tracked for making an investment decision. Here is where the tried-and-tested Zacks Rank stock-rating system plays an important role, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The Zacks Rank stock-rating system, which uses four factors related to earnings estimates to classify stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), has an impressive externally-audited track record, with Zacks Rank #1 stocks generating an average annual return of +25% since 1988. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> . Earnings Estimate Revisions for W.P. CareyFor the fiscal year ending December 2026, this real estate investment trust is expected to earn $5.28 per share, which is unchanged compared with the year-ago reported number. Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for W.P. Carey. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 1.1%. Bottom LineUnlike the overly optimistic Wall Street analysts whose rating systems tend to be weighted toward favorable recommendations, the Zacks rating system maintains an equal proportion of "buy" and "sell" ratings for its entire universe of more than 4,000 stocks at any point in time. Irrespective of market conditions, only the top 5% of the Zacks-covered stocks get a "Strong Buy" rating and the next 15% get a "Buy" rating. So, the placement of a stock in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks indicates its superior earnings estimate revision feature, making it a solid candidate for producing market-beating returns in the near term. You can learn more about the Zacks Rank here >>> The upgrade of W.P. Carey to a Zacks Rank #2 positions it in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term. |

This Homebuilder's Average Selling Price Just Hit a 9-Year Low. Here's Why That's Great News for Home Depot | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Lennar (LEN +5.54%) saw fiscal second-quarter home deliveries increase 2% to 20,519. However, the homebuilder reported a lower average sales price of $371,000, including nearly 13% in incentives and base-price "adjustments" designed to boost demand amid affordability issues. It's the lowest price reported in several years. The results were for the period ended March 31.However, while that suggests a tough economy, making homes more affordable should carry over to existing homes and boost unit sales across the board. In May, the National Association of Realtors' Housing Affordability Index registered 105.6, an improvement from 97.5 in the year-ago period (higher numbers indicate greater affordability). The index measures the affordability of existing home sales. While it may play out over time, reduced home prices will benefit the home improvement sector, and its leading retailer, Home Depot (HD +2.63%). Image source: Getty Images. Spurring home sales Lower prices should boost existing home sales, although no one can predict the exact timing. That's good for Home Depot. When people buy homes, they tend to take on projects, including major renovations. After all, they want the house to suit their tastes. Sluggish home sales and the lack of big projects have hurt Home Depot's sales. The company's fiscal first-quarter same-store sales increased by a tepid 0.4% and were flat globally after removing foreign-currency translation effects. The results were for the period that ended on May 3. Management expects just flat to 2% comps growth for the year. CEO Ted Decker cited consumer uncertainty and housing affordability as factors influencing home improvements. Management noted that homeowners took on smaller projects rather than major renovations. Borrowing costs High interest rates have also tempered homebuying and home improvement demand. In the wake of the Iran war and spike in oil prices, long-term interest rates increased, affecting mortgage rates. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rate was 6.47% for the week ending on June 18, according to Freddie Mac data. At the end of February, before hostilities broke out, the average mortgage rate was 5.9%. All else equal, and assuming home prices don't increase, this trend should boost homebuying demand. That's because lower mortgage rates translate into a lower monthly payment. That's another component that would make buying a house more affordable. Patient investing approach Of course, lower home prices won't immediately boost homebuying demand. It takes time to work through the process. But it remains basic economics: lower prices equate to higher demand. In turn, people take on major home improvement projects, as they've always done. Why will that benefit Home Depot? After all, people who do their own work or hire professional contractors have many choices. Home Depot remains the largest home-improvement retailer, providing shoppers with attractive prices, a wide range of products and services, and convenience. Its $165 billion in annual sales dwarf those of its nearest competitor, Lowe's (LOW +2.29%). Management has also taken steps to broaden its reach among professional contractors. This includes acquiring SRS Distribution for $18.3 billion in 2024 and subsequently purchasing GMS for $5.5 billion. Meanwhile, investors have sent the share price down, but this has been due to short-term economic concerns. Home Depot's stock dropped 2.9% this year through June 18 compared to the S&P 500 index's 9.6% gain. Today's Change ( 2.63 %) $ 8.55 Current Price $ 333.00 This presents a buying opportunity for those patient enough to wait out the economic situation, which shows positive initial signs for Home Depot. The shares trade at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 24 compared to 28 earlier this year. Large-cap stocks, measured by the S&P 500, have a P/E ratio of 32. With an attractive valuation and a more favorable economic outlook, Home Depot shares should rebound, rewarding patient investors. |

Why Home Depot and Lowe's Fell After the Fed Held Interest Rates Steady. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
After Kevin Warsh's first meeting as the new Federal Reserve chair, it was announced that the federal funds rate would remain unchanged. The vote was unanimous, with inflationary pressures in full focus. The central bank made this announcement at 2 p.m. ET on June 17. By the time the stock market closed two hours later, shares of Home Depot (HD +2.63%) and Lowe's Companies (LOW +2.29%) had each fallen between 2.5% and 3%. By market close the following day on June 18, both retail stocks had basically clawed back their losses. However, investors should still learn a lesson from this volatility driven by market reactions. Image source: Getty Images. Macro factors have an impact on the housing market The impact that interest rates have on the housing market is straightforward. When mortgage rates are elevated, like they are now with the 30-year fixed rate at 6.47%, it raises the cost to purchase a home. The monthly mortgage payment goes up. Additionally, homeowners who were able to lock in a lower mortgage rate might be more inclined to stay put, creating a lock-in effect. This can reduce the housing supply that's for sale. Home Depot and Lowe's are in the thick of this tighter backdrop. "With the higher rates, housing turnovers remain low," Home Depot CEO Ted Decker said on the Q1 2026 earnings call. "Industry is not expecting a lot of growth in housing turnover this year, and new construction starts and sales are also trending down." Investors were hoping lower rates were on the docket. This would support a more favorable environment that can drive consumers to Home Depot and Lowe's stores. It's a good idea to temper expectations for a while, though. Half of the participants at the latest Fed meeting believe that there will be at least one interest rate hike in 2026. That's not what shareholders in these companies want to hear. A higher-for-longer interest rate climate won't exactly give households the confidence they need to spend big on large renovation projects. Today's Change ( 2.63 %) $ 8.55 Current Price $ 333.00 These businesses will have to ride out this cycle Home Depot generated revenue of $41.8 billion in Q1 2026, while Lowe's collected sales of $23.1 billion during its fiscal first quarter. These are the two biggest operators in the massive home improvement industry. Targeting both DIY and professional customers, these businesses sell products ranging from power tools and appliances to lawn equipment and flooring. Both companies do well when the broader macroeconomic backdrop is firing on all cylinders, characterized by high consumer confidence and robust discretionary spending behavior. That's not the case right now. Home Depot and Lowe's each forecast same-store sales growth of just 1% (at the midpoint) this fiscal year. Shareholders will have to be patient as they wait for the fundamentals to improve. Neil Patel has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends Home Depot. The Motley Fool recommends Lowe's Companies. The Motley Fool has a disclosure policy. |

This margin of safety presents an opportunity for potential investors, as the stock is trading below its estimated intrinsic value. The GF Valuation label categorizes Lowe's as modestly undervalued, suggesting that there is room for price appreciation in the future if the company's fundamentals remain strong. However, it is important to consider the risks associated with investing in a stock that has seen a decline in price year-to-date and recent insider selling activity. GF Value™ is GuruFocus' proprietary measure of intrinsic value, calculated from historical trading multiples, past business growth, and future performance estimates, which reinforces the notion that the current valuation may not fully reflect the company's potential. Lowe's Companies, Inc. (LOW) Is a Trending Stock: Facts to Know Before Betting on It | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Lowe's (LOW - Free Report) is one of the stocks most watched by Zacks.com visitors lately. So, it might be a good idea to review some of the factors that might affect the near-term performance of the stock.Shares of this home improvement retailer have returned -0.3% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +0.1% change. The Zacks Retail - Home Furnishings industry, to which Lowe's belongs, has gained 3.9% over this period. Our analysis is essentially based on how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to take the latest business trends into account. When earnings estimates for a company go up, the fair value for its stock goes up as well. And when a stock's fair value is higher than its current market price, investors tend to buy the stock, resulting in its price moving upward. Because of this, empirical studies indicate a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and short-term stock price movements. For the current quarter, Lowe's is expected to post earnings of $4.26 per share, indicating a change of -1.6% from the year-ago quarter. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed -0.7% over the last 30 days. The consensus earnings estimate of $12.48 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of +1.6%. This estimate has changed -0.1% over the last 30 days. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $13.47 indicates a change of +7.9% from what Lowe's is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed -0.2%. With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for Lowe's. For Lowe's, the consensus sales estimate for the current quarter of $26.25 billion indicates a year-over-year change of +9.5%. For the current and next fiscal years, $93.09 billion and $96.14 billion estimates indicate +7.9% and +3.3% changes, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryLowe's reported revenues of $23.08 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +10.3%. EPS of $3.03 for the same period compares with $2.92 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $22.94 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +0.62%. The EPS surprise was +2.36%. The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters. The company topped consensus revenue estimates two times over this period. ValuationNo investment decision can be efficient without considering a stock's valuation. Whether a stock's current price rightly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects is an essential determinant of its future price performance. Comparing the current value of a company's valuation multiples, such as its price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), to its own historical values helps ascertain whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, whereas comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of how reasonable its stock price is. The Zacks Value Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which pays close attention to both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics to grade stocks from A to F (an A is better than a B; a B is better than a C; and so on), is pretty helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued. Lowe's is graded C on this front, indicating that it is trading at par with its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Lowe's. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term. |

Home Depot vs. Lowe's: Which Stock Deserves Your Attention? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Home Depot leads in scale, Pro strength, market share gains and an addressable market near $1.2T.Lowe's is gaining share through Total Home, Pro initiatives, home services and digital investments.Home Depot has more stable EPS estimates, while Lowe's trades at a lower forward P/E valuation. The rivalry between The Home Depot Inc. (HD - Free Report) and Lowe’s Companies Inc. (LOW - Free Report) defines the U.S. home improvement retail market. As the industry’s two largest players, both companies serve do-it-yourself shoppers, professional contractors and homeowners seeking tools, building materials, appliances, décor and renovation solutions. Yet their market positions are not identical.Home Depot remains the clear leader, supported by greater scale, a stronger professional customer base and higher sales productivity. Lowe’s, while the second-largest player, continues to strengthen its operations, improve customer experience and pursue growth opportunities to narrow the gap. Although HD and LOW operate similar businesses, differences in market share, execution, customer mix and strategic focus shape their investment appeal. With housing trends, repair demand and consumer spending influencing performance, this face-off examines which home improvement giant is better-positioned in today’s competitive landscape. The Case for HDHome Depot remains the undisputed leader in the North American home improvement market, leveraging its scale, brand strength and extensive distribution network to capture incremental market share even amid a challenging housing backdrop. Management highlighted that the company continues to gain share across the industry, supported by a vast footprint of more than 2,360 stores, 325 customer-facing warehouses and above 1,300 SRS distribution branches. The recent acquisition of Mingledorff’s expands Home Depot’s reach into the $100-billion HVAC distribution market, increasing its total addressable market to $1.2 trillion. Meanwhile, the company sees a $700-billion opportunity within the professional contractor segment, reinforcing its leadership position in a highly fragmented industry. The investment case is strengthened by Home Depot’s sharp focus on the Pro customer, a $700-billion opportunity. Management is expanding trade credit, jobsite delivery, AI-powered material list tools, project planning capabilities and a unified Pro digital workspace. Digital sales increased more than 10% year over year, marking the fourth straight quarter of double-digit growth. Home Depot delivered resilient results despite macroeconomic pressures. First-quarter fiscal 2026 sales increased 4.8% year over year to $41.8 billion, while Pro sales outperformed DIY demand and big-ticket transactions returned to positive growth. The company generated a strong 25.4% return on invested capital, with $845 million of investment in growth initiatives and reaffirmed its expectation for continued market share gains in fiscal 2026. Management’s commitment to strategic acquisitions, digital innovation and customer-centric execution positions Home Depot to strengthen its competitive moat and drive long-term shareholder value. The Case for LOWLowe’s has strengthened its position as the second-largest home improvement retailer in North America by consistently gaining market share despite a challenging housing environment. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, sales increased 10.3% year over year to $23.1 billion, while comparable sales rose 0.6%, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of positive comps. Management noted that Lowe’s continues to take share through its Total Home strategy, which targets growth across Pro customers, online channels, home services and new construction markets. The acquisitions of FBM and ADG further expand Lowe’s reach into the estimated $250-billion new-home and multi-family construction market, creating a meaningful growth runway beyond its traditional retail business. Lowe’s competitive advantage lies in its balanced portfolio and customer-centric strategy. Roughly two-thirds of revenues come from repair and maintenance categories, while one-third is tied to discretionary projects. The company continues to deepen relationships with small and medium-sized Pros through its MyLowe’s Pro Rewards program, Pro Extended Aisle initiative and enhanced fulfillment capabilities. Digital innovation is another major differentiator, with online sales rising 15.5% and the AI-powered Mylow assistant now handling more than one million customer inquiries monthly, significantly boosting online conversion rates. Lowe’s financials remain highly resilient. Adjusted EPS increased 3.8% to $3.03, the free cash flow reached $2.8 billion and return on invested capital stood at an impressive 26.8%. Continued investments in AI, home services, loyalty programs and productivity initiatives position Lowe’s to capture additional market share while enhancing profitability. As housing conditions normalize, the company appears well-placed to leverage its strong brand, omnichannel capabilities and expanding Pro ecosystem to drive long-term shareholder value. HD vs. LOW: How Do Estimates Stack Up?The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Home Depot’s fiscal 2026 sales and EPS implies year-over-year growth of 4.2% and 2.2%, respectively. For fiscal 2027, the consensus estimate indicates a 4% rise in sales and 8% growth in EPS. The consensus estimate for fiscal 2026 EPS has been unchanged in the past 30 days, while the estimate for fiscal 2027 moved down 0.2% in the same period. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Lowe’s fiscal 2026 sales and EPS implies growth of 7.9% and 1.6%, respectively, from the year-ago period’s actuals. For fiscal 2027, the consensus estimate indicates a 3.3% rise in sales and 7.9% growth in EPS. The consensus estimate for fiscal 2026 and 2027 EPS has moved down 0.6% and 0.9%, respectively, in the past 30 days. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Home Depot appears better-positioned on estimate revisions, with projections largely stable despite a softer macro backdrop. While both companies are expected to deliver growth, Lowe’s has seen broader downward EPS revisions across the forecast period. This gives HD an edge, signaling greater confidence in its earnings visibility and execution. HD vs. LOW: A Look at Stock Performance & ValuationLowe’s shares have plunged 8.6% in the past three months, trailing Home Depot’s loss of 1.3%. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Home Depot is trading at a forward 12-month price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 21.1X, below its five-year median of 22.27X. Meanwhile, Lowe’s forward P/E ratio stands at 16.66X, below its five-year median of 17.55X. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Lowe’s has underperformed Home Depot recently, reflecting weaker investor sentiment. However, both stocks trade below their historical valuation norms, suggesting some discount is already priced in. While Lowe’s appears cheaper on valuation, Home Depot’s stronger relative share performance points to better market confidence and perceived resilience. HD vs. LOW: Which Is a Better Bet?Both Home Depot and Lowe’s remain strong home improvement leaders with solid brands, broad store networks, expanding digital capabilities and meaningful upside when housing and renovation demand improves. Lowe’s continues to execute well through its Total Home strategy, Pro initiatives, home services expansion and technology investments. Its lower valuation may appeal to value-focused investors. However, Home Depot wins this face-off. Its larger scale, stronger Pro ecosystem, leadership position and expanding addressable market provide a stronger foundation for long-term growth. HD also stands out for better estimate revision trends and stronger recent stock performance, reflecting greater investor confidence in its execution and earnings visibility. Although Home Depot trades at a richer valuation than Lowe’s, that premium appears justified by its superior market position, resilient business model and stronger growth prospects. The valuation gap ultimately signals confidence in HD’s ability to keep gaining share and delivering durable shareholder returns. Both Home Depot and Lowe’s carry a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) at present. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here. |

Here's Why Travelers (TRV) is a Strong Growth Stock | FMP Stock News

It doesn't matter your age or experience: taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for all investors. Luckily, Zacks Premium offers several different ways to do both. The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens. Zacks Premium includes access to the Zacks Style Scores as well. What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores is a unique set of guidelines that rates stocks based on three popular investing types, and were developed as complementary indicators for the Zacks Rank. This combination helps investors choose securities with the highest chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform. The Style Scores are broken down into four categories: Value ScoreFor value investors, it's all about finding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value before the broader market catches on. The Value Style Score utilizes ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to help pick out the most attractive and discounted stocks. Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time. Momentum ScoreMomentum trading is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook, and these investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." The Momentum Style Score can pinpoint good times to build a position in a stock, using factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates. VGM ScoreWhat if you like to use all three types of investing? The VGM Score is a combination of all Style Scores, making it one of the most comprehensive indicators to use with the Zacks Rank. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, which helps narrow down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank A proprietary stock-rating model, the Zacks Rank utilizes the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings outlook, to help investors create a successful portfolio. Investors can count on the Zacks Rank's success, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +24% average annual return since 1988, more than double the S&P 500's performance. But the model rates a large number of stocks, and there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. This totals more than 800 top-rated stocks, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick the best stocks for you and your portfolio. That's where the Style Scores come in. To maximize your returns, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. This means picking stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you find yourself looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, make sure they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible. Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy. Here's an example: a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one with Style Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings outlook, and a bigger chance its share price will decrease too. Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better. Stock to Watch: Travelers (TRV - Free Report) Established in 1853 and is based in New York, NY, The Travelers Companies Inc., a holding company, is principally engaged, through its subsidiaries, in providing a wide variety of property and casualty insurance and surety products and services to businesses, organizations and individuals in the United States. and select international markets. TRV has a Growth Style Score of B, forecasting year-over-year earnings growth of 1.5% for the current fiscal year. For fiscal 2026, eight analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days, and the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.30 to $28.00 per share. TRV boasts an average earnings surprise of +40.4%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Growth and VGM Style Scores, TRV should be on investors' short list. |

Here's Why Travelers (TRV) is a Strong Momentum Stock | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
For new and old investors, taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals. Zacks Premium provides lots of different ways to do both. The research service features daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, all of which will help you become a smarter, more confident investor. It also includes access to the Zacks Style Scores. What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days. Each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics. Just like in school, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on -- that means the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform. Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time. How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier. #1 (Strong Buy) stocks have produced an unmatched +24% average annual return since 1988, which is more than double the S&P 500's performance over the same time frame. However, the Zacks Rank examines a ton of stocks, and there can be more than 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, and another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day. But it can feel overwhelming to pick the right stocks for you and your investing goals with over 800 top-rated stocks to choose from. That's where the Style Scores come in. You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible. As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy. TRV is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of A. Momentum investors should take note of this Finance stock. TRV has a Momentum Style Score of A, and shares are up 1.4% over the past four weeks. Four analysts revised their earnings estimate higher in the last 60 days for fiscal 2026, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.17 to $28.00 per share. TRV also boasts an average earnings surprise of +40.4%. With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Momentum and VGM Style Scores, TRV should be on investors' short list. |

Trump's 2 New Quantum Computing Orders Reignite the Next AI-Style Investing Boom | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
President Trump’s latest push into quantum computing is arriving at an interesting moment. Global technology stocks are under pressure, with weakness spreading across markets overseas and into U.S. premarket trading. Yet one corner of the tech sector is moving in the opposite direction.Quantum computing stocks are posting gains despite the broader sell-off. According to premarket trading data, D-Wave Quantum (NYSE:QBTS) is up 4%, Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ:RGTI) is gaining 2%, IonQ (NYSE:IONQ | IONQ Price Prediction) is rising 1%, and IBM (NYSE:IBM) has advanced 4.5% so far. The catalyst is Washington’s growing commitment to quantum technology. President Trump just signed two executive orders designed to accelerate development of advanced quantum systems while preparing the government for the security challenges those systems may create. Trump Accelerates the Quantum Race Trump’s first executive order directs federal agencies to work with private industry and academic institutions to deploy a quantum computer capable of supporting scientific research by 2028. The second order recognizes a different reality: quantum computers may soon become powerful enough to crack many forms of traditional encryption. Federal agencies and security experts are being directed to prepare for that possibility sooner than previously expected. The orders arrive alongside billions of dollars in Commerce Department funding earmarked for quantum-related companies. They also build on a separate $2 billion federal investment initiative spread across nine quantum computing stocks, with IBM receiving roughly half of that funding. The message is clear: Artificial intelligence may dominate today’s headlines, but quantum computing is becoming a strategic national priority. For investors, government support matters because quantum computing remains an emerging industry with limited commercial revenue today. Federal contracts and research funding help bridge the gap between promising technology and profitable businesses. A billion-dollar federal lifeline is fueling a massive breakout for quantum leaders, creating a stark disconnect from the broader tech sell-off. © 24/7 Wall St. Why IBM Stands Out From the Crowd Many quantum stocks remain speculative. Most generate limited revenue and continue operating at losses while developing their technology. IBM is different. The company generated nearly $69 billion in revenue over the last 12 months and remains profitable across its software, consulting, and infrastructure businesses. Quantum computing is only one part of a much larger enterprise. Here’s how several major quantum players compare: Company Approximate Premarket Move Business Profile IBM +4.5% Diversified technology leader with profitable operations IonQ +1% Pure-play quantum company with commercial partnerships D-Wave Quantum +4% Focused on quantum annealing systems Rigetti Computing +2% Early-stage quantum hardware developer To be clear, IBM isn’t likely to deliver the explosive upside some smaller quantum names might generate. But it also carries far less financial risk. That’s an attractive combination in a sector where many companies are still proving their business models. That said, IonQ deserves consideration as a runner-up. The company is widely viewed as one of the leaders among pure-play quantum firms and has established partnerships across government and enterprise markets. If investors want more direct exposure to the technology itself, IonQ appears ahead of many competitors. Why the Quantum ETF Isn’t Following the Stocks Higher Surprisingly, the Corgi Quantum Computing ETF (NASDAQ:CQTM) is down about 2% in premarket trading even as several leading quantum stocks gained. Similarly, The Defiance Quantum ETF (NASDAQ:QTUM) is down 2.6%. The reason comes down to portfolio construction. According to the fund’s fact sheet, Corgi owns 18 stocks tied to the quantum computing industry. Its largest positions include IonQ and D-Wave Quantum, which each account for roughly 20% of assets. IBM, despite today’s strong move, represents only about 4% of the portfolio and ranks as the fund’s ninth-largest holding. The ETF also owns smaller quantum companies that aren’t participating in today’s rally. Meanwhile, Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON), its seventh-largest position, was trading modestly lower. ETFs are often marketed as a safer way to gain exposure to emerging industries. In this case, diversification is muting the impact of the sector’s biggest winners. Key Takeaway Trump’s executive orders and new federal funding commitments are giving quantum computing stocks a boost even as the broader technology sector weakens. The long-term opportunity remains speculative, but government support is becoming increasingly tangible. For investors seeking exposure, IBM stands out because it combines quantum leadership with a profitable, established business generating tens of billions of dollars in annual revenue. IonQ remains an intriguing alternative for investors willing to accept more risk in exchange for potentially greater upside. Ultimately, quantum computing is still in its early innings. In a sector where many companies are years away from consistent profitability, the biggest and most financially secure player may offer the most attractive risk-reward balance. |

IBM Spent Years Preparing For This Moment — Then Trump Made It Official | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Quantum computing stocks gained renewed attention this week after President Donald Trump signed executive orders targeting a powerful U.S.-made quantum computer by 2028 and bolstering the infrastructure needed to advance the emerging technology. Why IBM Stands OutThe White House’s latest push comes just weeks after the U.S. Commerce Department announced a $2 billion quantum initiative that includes investments and grants for several quantum-focused companies. IBM emerged as the largest beneficiary, receiving roughly $1 billion to help launch Anderon, a new company expected to become America’s first dedicated quantum wafer foundry. IBM is also contributing approximately $1 billion of its own capital to the project. The foundry is expected to strengthen the domestic supply chain for quantum hardware—one of the same priorities highlighted in Trump’s executive orders. In other words, Washington’s latest quantum strategy aligns closely with the infrastructure IBM is already helping build. More Than A Quantum Research CompanyIBM’s advantage isn’t limited to government funding. The company has spent years developing quantum hardware, software and cloud-based quantum services while building one of the industry’s largest quantum ecosystems. It has also outlined plans to develop a large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computer before the end of the decade, putting its roadmap broadly in line with the administration’s accelerated timeline. Reports also indicated IBM CEO Arvind Krishna attended the Oval Office signing ceremony, highlighting the company’s growing role in the broader U.S. quantum effort. That combination of government support, manufacturing infrastructure and existing technology development gives IBM a different profile than many of the pure-play quantum names attracting investor attention. Why Investors Should Pay AttentionQuantum computing remains an emerging industry, and widespread commercial adoption is still years away. But investors often look for signals that a technology is moving from research labs toward real-world deployment. Government support has historically played an important role in accelerating industries ranging from semiconductors to artificial intelligence. The latest executive orders suggest quantum computing could be next. For investors, the takeaway isn’t that IBM is the only potential winner from Washington’s quantum push. It’s that the company appears unusually well-positioned for a future that the government is actively trying to accelerate. The tech heavy Nasdaq-100 (NDX) index is bearing the brunt off the pitfall, off by over 800 points ahead of the open. Once-outperforming chip and memory stocks are getting crushed, with Micron (MU) and SanDisk (SNDK) each down 9% premarket. Continue reading for more on today's market, including: Monitor these overhead resistance levels, says Senior V.P. of Research Todd Salamone. "Buy" signal shines even amid CAT record run. IBM stock jumps after JPMorgan upgrade on AI and software growth | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Shares of IBM climbed nearly 5% in premarket trading on Tuesday after JPMorgan upgraded the technology company, citing increasing confidence in its software business and potential benefits from growing artificial intelligence adoption.JPMorgan analyst Brian Essex upgraded IBM to Overweight from Neutral and raised his price target to $291 from $270. The analyst said expectations for software acceleration in the second half of 2026 have strengthened the firm's outlook on the stock. The upgrade comes as IBM continues a multiyear transformation from a hardware and services provider into a software-led platform focused on hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence technologies. JPMorgan highlighted several growth drivers, including momentum from Red Hat and OpenShift migration activities. The firm pointed to OpenShift's role in supporting the adoption of IBM's AI-driven container platform among enterprises. The analysts also noted accelerating automation demand following IBM's acquisition of HashiCorp, which management said is receiving increasing support from senior corporate executives. IBM's software segment has become the primary earnings engine for the company. According to JPMorgan, software now accounts for roughly 45% of IBM's revenue but generates approximately two-thirds of consolidated profit. "We view the continued shift toward software as positive considering the higher-margin, ratable nature of software with better cash conversion and a higher-quality earnings stream that supports a higher multiple than the hardware and services businesses," the analysts said. JPMorgan also said that if IBM becomes a significant beneficiary of rising AI demand, the stock could see further valuation expansion. Separately, Morgan Stanley raised its price target on IBM to $267 from $225 while maintaining an Equal Weight rating. The firm noted that recent earnings reports from Dell and Hewlett Packard Enterprise demonstrated that enterprise server demand has remained stronger than expected despite higher prices driven by compute shortages, hardware refresh cycles and growing AI infrastructure requirements. Morgan Stanley added that Wall Street expectations for 2026 and 2027 "look too low" and increased its earnings-per-share estimates by 5% to 6% for companies with exposure to computing demand. IBM may also benefit from fresh support for quantum computing from the US government. Chief Executive Officer Arvind Krishna attended the White House on Monday as President Donald Trump signed two executive orders designed to accelerate domestic quantum computing development and strengthen cybersecurity protections against quantum-powered threats. The first executive order directs the development of "the first-ever quantum computer powerful enough for scientific research," with the goal of locating the system in a national laboratory by 2028. The second order accelerates the federal government's transition to post-quantum cryptography by 2031. "When President Trump published a letter to me in early 2025, he prioritized quantum as a key industry for America to lead the world alongside AI and nuclear energy," said Michael Kratsios, the president's top advisor on science and technology policy. Industry participants are working toward achieving fault tolerance by the end of the decade, a milestone that would allow quantum computers to operate reliably even when individual components experience failures or disruptions. The latest policy initiatives add another potential growth catalyst for IBM as it expands its presence in artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud software, and next-generation computing technologies. |

IBM Stock Bucks Broader Tech Selloff With Upgrade | FMP Stock News

Bucking the tech sector slide is IBM Corp (NYSE:IBM), up 5.1% to trade at $264.75 this morning, after landing an upgrade from J.P. Morgan Securities to "overweight" from "neutral." The firm also hiked its price target to $291 from $270, citing the company's OpenShift platform demand.Quantum computing stocks are also up across the board, after President Donald Trump signed an order to build a quantum computer. IonQ (IONQ) and Infleqtion (INFQ) are up 3% and 14%, respectively. IBM Friday gapped below the 100-day moving average $260 level, but has reclaimed both today. The shares now sport a 14% year-to-date deficit, but are still 21% off their June 2 record high of $332.46. Options traders are extremely bullish. At the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), Credo Technology stock's 50-day call/put volume ratio of 3.70 ranks in the highest possible annual percentile. This sentiment is echoed by the stock's Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) of 0.56, which ranks higher than just 1% of readings from the past year. Call traders are circling right out of the gate, with 37,000 contracts trading in the first 30 minutes. This comes in at four times the average daily rate, with the July 300 call and weekly 6/26 260-strike call seeing the most action. Even further, the stock sports a Schaeffer's Volatility Scorecard (SVS) of 93 out of 100. This suggests the equity has consistently realized higher-than-expected volatility over the past 12 months. |

IBM Is Defying Tuesday's Tech Rout. Here's Why the Stock Is Surging | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways IBM shares gained Tuesday, bucking the trend as the broader tech sector came under pressure. The tech giant's stock got an upgrade from JPMorgan analysts Tuesday, and the Trump administration laid out new plans to support the quantum computing industry. Get personalized, AI-powered answers built on 27+ years of trusted expertise.International Business Machines weathered Tuesday's tech pullback better than most, thanks to a fresh vote of confidence on Wall Street, and a boost from the federal government. Shares of IBM (IBM) climbed over 5% to close just under $265, making it one of the best-performing stocks in the S&P 500 on a day when the index declined, after JPMorgan analysts upgraded the stock to "overweight" from neutral, and lifted their price target to $291 from $270.1 Five of the six analysts with current ratings tracked by Visible Alpha have issued "buy" or equivalent ratings for the stock, with a mean target of $322. The JPMorgan analysts said they think investors could be underappreciating the potential of IBM's software business, and that they have greater confidence in the segment's growth over the second half of this year, thanks in part to signs of growing AI adoption. "AI is a direct tailwind for software," they wrote. Why This Matters to Investors JPMorgan's upgrade and more federal support for the quantum computing industry could help boost confidence in IBM's stock, which has pulled back recently from its highs at the start of the month. IBM could also stand to benefit from the U.S. government's moves to grow America's quantum computing industry. The Trump administration earlier today announced a pair of executive orders aimed at fast-tracking developments in quantum computing. Fellow quantum firm D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) also gained alongside IBM Tuesday, with shares adding 2%.23 The expanded federal support efforts also come just a month after the Trump administration announced plans to take stakes in a number of public and private quantum firms in exchange for CHIPS Act funding, with $1 billion set to go to IBM. Even with Tuesday's gains, IBM shares are down about 11% from where they started the year, and have dropped about a fifth from their highs in early June. This article has been updated since it was first published to reflect more recent prices. |

New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Just Delivered 29 Words on AI. 2 Dividend Stocks That Are Well Positioned to Thrive in This Changing Landscape. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
New Federal Reserve Board Chairman Kevin Warsh presided over his first meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), and the headlines for the meeting were about how the Fed kept rates in check. But often the more interesting stories lie in the press conference the Fed chair holds after the meeting. In the latest Q&A with the press on June 17, Warsh made an interesting observation about artificial intelligence (AI) that put into perspective the massive, far-reaching impact of the technology. "Artificial intelligence, the latest generation of general purpose technology, is perhaps as important a change in the economy and business and households that we've had in my adult lifetime," Warsh said. Within that statement lies the double-edged sword that is AI. The last disruptive technology, the internet, created so much buzz that the market got overheated and led to a two-year bear market. After three-plus years of a bull market driven by AI, valuations are near those dot-com era highs, so investors should be cautious about a potential reset or pullback with AI stocks. Image source: Getty Images. Dividend stocks are one of the best ways to fortify a portfolio against a market downturn, because the added income can be reinvested to boost returns. Also, dividend stocks typically come from sturdy, well-capitalized companies that tend to perform well in various market cycles. As AI companies mature, more of them are offering hearty dividends, which can help boost their returns if there is a market downturn. Here are two dividend-paying AI stocks that are well positioned to navigate this changing landscape. 1. IBM International Business Machines (IBM 1.65%), or IBM, has embraced AI in its cloud computing and IT consulting business through its watsonX software, which helps organizations integrate AI into their systems. IBM stock is down about 15% year to date, with most of the losses coming in June after the stock soared to near an all-time high of $329 per share on June 2. Since then, it has dropped 25% to $245 per share as part of a larger tech sell-off following a meteoric two-month surge for tech stocks. Today's Change ( -1.65 %) $ -4.37 Current Price $ 260.57 Now IBM is trading at just 22 times earnings, down from 50 a year ago. It is also trading at just 20 times forward earnings, making it a bargain right now. Add to that a stellar and consistent dividend. IBM pays out a yield of 2.71%, which is far better than the average S&P 500 yield of 1.05%. Also, IBM has increased its dividend for 26 straight years, an incredible record of consistency. To illustrate the impact of the reinvested dividend, IBM stock has averaged about a 12% return over the past five years. But with the dividend reinvested, the average annualized five-year return jumps to almost 17%. 2. Accenture Accenture (ACN 0.71%) is another consulting firm that helps companies and organizations integrate and deploy technology and AI throughout their systems and enterprises. Accenture has one of the absolute best dividends, not just among AI stocks, but on the entire stock market right now. It pays out a yield of 5.1%, which is one of the highest yields you'll find. It has also been consistent, raising its dividend for 15 consecutive years. The stock has crashed about 38% since late May, falling from about $196 per share to the current $122 per share. Part of it stems from the larger tech sell-off related to valuation concerns, but for Accenture, the sell-off was exacerbated by a weak earnings report that saw Accenture miss revenue estimates and cut its revenue outlook due in part to headwinds from U.S. government cost-cutting. Today's Change ( -0.71 %) $ -0.90 Current Price $ 126.11 Accenture stock is dirt cheap right now, trading at 10 times earnings and 8 times forward earnings. Accenture has struggled to generate returns in recent years, with a five-year annualized total return of negative 13%, but it also hasn't been this cheap in more than 10 years. The rock-bottom valuation and reliable dividend make Accenture a stock that could outperform in the upcoming cycle. Wall Street analysts have a median price target of $180 per share for Accenture stock, which would suggest 47% upside. Unlike most AI stocks, these two are cheap and have great dividends -- a combination that could serve them well in the upcoming market cycle. |

IBM, Red Hat and Palo Alto Networks Expand Project Lightwell to Help Organizations Respond to Software Vulnerabilities | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Collaboration combines vulnerability discovery, virtual patching and software remediation to help organizations reduce the time between vulnerability discovery and protection.SANTA CLARA, Calif., ARMONK, N.Y. & RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW), IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Red Hat today announced a collaboration to help organizations identify vulnerabilities early and deploy protections fast across open source software, commercial applications, operational technology (OT) and healthcare technologies. By integrating Palo Alto Networks Virtual Patching capability with Project Lightwell from IBM and Red Hat, the collaboration combines rapid network-level protection with software remediation to help organizations reduce exposure to emerging threats. The collaboration connects IBM and Red Hat’s $5 billion commitment to open source security via Project Lightwell with Palo Alto Networks’ security platform. Share AI has supercharged vulnerability discovery, enabling flaws to be identified at unprecedented speed and scale. AI-driven threats can uncover security gaps across codebases far faster than defenders can patch them, exposing organizations to systemic supply-chain risks. Nikesh Arora, CEO and Chairman of Palo Alto Networks "AI has compressed the window between vulnerability discovery and exploit from weeks to minutes. Traditional patching cannot keep pace. By collaborating with IBM and Red Hat, we are shifting the advantage back to defenders. This powerful combination allows us to neutralize threats in the network while providing uninterrupted business continuity for our global clients." Arvind Krishna, Chairman and CEO of IBM "IBM established Project Lightwell to secure the open-source software foundation that enterprises rely on every day. By collaborating with Palo Alto Networks, we are extending that security from the source code directly to the network front lines. This joint solution gives our clients exactly what they need to thrive in the AI era: immediate, automated resilience against emerging threats, combined with the rigorous validation required to safely update their core systems." A Seamless "Shield-and-Fix" Workflow The collaboration connects IBM and Red Hat’s $5 billion commitment to open source security via Project Lightwell with Palo Alto Networks’ security platform. This creates a dual-action defense: Palo Alto Networks rapidly deploys a virtual patch at the network layer to block exploit attempts, while IBM and Red Hat’s Project Lightwell offers software remediation for open source software that customers can test and deploy in their environments. The collaboration combines vulnerability intelligence, software remediation and network-based protections to help organizations respond quickly to newly discovered vulnerabilities. Key capabilities include: Broader Vulnerability Coverage: Protection across open source software, commercial applications, operational technology (OT) environments and connected devices. Preemptive Coverage: Organizations can receive virtual patch protections before official software patches become available, helping reduce exposure while remediation is underway. Rapid Protection: When a new vulnerability is discovered, network-level protections can be deployed the same day, with a long-term goal of reducing the time from validated discovery to protection. The companies also plan to establish secure processes for sharing vulnerability information across participating software vendors, technology providers and security teams. This collaboration is expected to support coordinated vulnerability disclosure, accelerate protection development and provide anonymized telemetry on real-world exploitation attempts. Expert Deployment via IBM Consulting To help organizations respond more effectively to newly discovered vulnerabilities, IBM Security Services can also provide advisory and deployment services that help customers identify which vulnerabilities pose the greatest risk to their business and determine the best path to remediation. Working alongside Palo Alto Networks' virtual patching capabilities and Project Lightwell's software remediation capabilities, IBM Security Services can help customers prioritize, deploy and validate protections and fixes across complex environments. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (UNH) is Attracting Investor Attention: Here is What You Should Know | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
UnitedHealth Group (UNH - Free Report) has been one of the most searched-for stocks on Zacks.com lately. So, you might want to look at some of the facts that could shape the stock's performance in the near term.Shares of this largest U.S. health insurer have returned +4.8% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +1.4% change. The Zacks Medical - HMOs industry, to which UnitedHealth belongs, has gained 3.1% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term? While media releases or rumors about a substantial change in a company's business prospects usually make its stock 'trending' and lead to an immediate price change, there are always some fundamental facts that eventually dominate the buy-and-hold decision-making. Earnings Estimate RevisionsHere at Zacks, we prioritize appraising the change in the projection of a company's future earnings over anything else. That's because we believe the present value of its future stream of earnings is what determines the fair value for its stock. UnitedHealth is expected to post earnings of $4.84 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +18.6%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged. For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $18.32 points to a change of +12.1% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed +0.2%. For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $20.8 indicates a change of +13.6% from what UnitedHealth is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +0.3%. Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, UnitedHealth is rated Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate: 12 Month EPS Revenue Growth ForecastEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial. For UnitedHealth, the consensus sales estimate for the current quarter of $110.05 billion indicates a year-over-year change of -1.4%. For the current and next fiscal years, $443.7 billion and $454.87 billion estimates indicate -0.9% and +2.5% changes, respectively. Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryUnitedHealth reported revenues of $111.72 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +2%. EPS of $7.23 for the same period compares with $7.2 a year ago. Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $109.45 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +2.07%. The EPS surprise was +11.92%. Over the last four quarters, UnitedHealth surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times. UnitedHealth is graded B on this front, indicating that it is trading at a discount to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade. Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about UnitedHealth. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term. |

UnitedHealth Bets $3 Billion on AI Turnaround | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
UnitedHealth says AI is driving 2-to-1 returns and could cut operating costs by almost $1 billion this year. SummaryAI is becoming central to UnitedHealth’s cost-cutting and efficiency push. UnitedHealth Group UNH is putting artificial intelligence at the center of its turnaround strategy as the company looks to recover from last year's profit collapse. The largest US health insurer plans to invest $3 billion in AI across 2026 and 2027, with executives saying the technology is already generating a 2-to-1 return by automating manual work, improving efficiency, and potentially reducing friction for patients. The company is using AI across a wide range of administrative tasks, from reading medical chart summaries to nurses on the road, to analyzing millions of customer calls, to testing AI agents that call doctors' offices to schedule appointments. UnitedHealth also expects AI to help reduce operating costs by almost $1 billion this year, while Optum Real, a coverage-checking system for medical providers, has processed about a billion transactions since launching last year. Wall Street appears focused on the potential cost savings, with Morgan Stanley analysts noting that insurers and medical providers spend $80 billion a year on administrative transactions. Still, UnitedHealth may need to convince a skeptical public that AI will benefit patients, not just the bottom line, as the company faces lawsuits over insurer algorithms and scrutiny after a federal inspector general report linked a naviHealth algorithm to higher denial rates that were almost always overturned on appeal. |
