Which meme coin will turn everyday traders into overnight millionaires? That’s the burning question gripping the crypto world right now. Meme coins have exploded beyond jokes, becoming the high-voltage assets everyone wants to ride. From Pepe to Neiro, Simon’s Cat, and beyond, investors are piling into the top new meme coins to invest in now—but only one stands out with a live presale promising once-in-a-lifetime multipliers: Arctic Pablo Coin (APC).
The presale is in full swing, offering a jaw-dropping 300% bonus with code BAGS300, giving buyers four times the tokens they pay for. At just $0.00099, whales are circling fast, aiming for the 3132% ROI wave as APC heads toward its $0.008 listing price. And it’s not just whispers—CEX Coinstore confirmed APC’s listing on its official X account, fueling frenzy across trading desks and Telegram groups. Arctic Pablo Coin isn’t just another meme coin presale—it’s the narrative-driven, utility-backed project that has big investors loading up heavy.

What if a coin could take you on an adventure while multiplying your wealth? That’s exactly the story of Arctic Pablo Coin, where a fearless explorer ventures into icy worlds to uncover shimmering $APC tokens loaded with mystique and financial potential. Unlike generic meme coins, APC ties each presale stage to mythical Earth locations, creating a narrative investors can follow while securing real ROI. With 66% APY staking, referral bonuses, and deflationary token burns that boost scarcity, APC has quickly separated itself from the crowd. And whales are bullish—snagging APC coins like kids at a candy store, stacking millions of tokens before the presale finale.
But here’s the electric part: Stage 39 (Shiver Me Bags) is live, priced at $0.00099, and it’s the last chance to use code BAGS300 to unlock 300% extra APC tokens. Every $1000 nets 4.04 million APC, instantly quadrupled. A $2500 investment right now delivers 10.1 million tokens, boosted to 40.4 million APC with the bonus. At the $0.008 listing price, that turns into $323,200. If APC climbs to analysts’ $0.10 target, that haul becomes $4.04 million. This is how fortunes are minted. And don’t forget—Coinstore’s X announcement confirmed APC will launch at the end of presale on both PancakeSwap (DEX) and Coinstore (CEX).
Final Call for Whales—Load Up on APC Before the 300% Bonus Vanishes! APC’s meme coin presale has already raised $3.76 million and counting, and whales aren’t waiting. They’re scooping up APC before Monday, when the 300% bonus disappears forever. Once Stage 39 ends, so does the bonus, and early adopters will have locked in a 31x multiplier on their investment.
With unsold tokens burned weekly and a total supply of 221.2 billion capped, scarcity is baked into the system. This isn’t just another meme coin presale—it’s a ticket to Earth’s hidden treasures. As the story of Arctic Pablo races toward its finale, the cold frontier has never been hotter for investors.
2. Pepe Coin (PEPE): The Original Meme Culture Icon ($PEPE) Pepe Coin remains one of the most recognized meme tokens, leveraging years of internet culture and loyal community backing. While it doesn’t carry a presale frenzy like APC, its strong holder base and continuous viral presence keep it in circulation. With regular exchange listings and deep liquidity, PEPE keeps its grip as one of the top new meme coins to invest in now, showing resilience even during market corrections.
That staying power, rooted in sheer meme culture dominance, is why Pepe Coin stays on every serious meme investor’s radar.
3. Memecoin (MEME): The Name That Says It All ($MEME) Memecoin went viral on branding alone—its ticker, MEME, says everything. More than a joke, the project has leaned into playful community-driven campaigns and continuous marketing rollouts. Unlike many meme tokens, MEME tapped into mainstream attention by directly embracing the word that started the movement. It thrives on being relatable, simple, and pure fun.
That natural virality ensures MEME holds its spot among meme traders. Its ability to resonate with casual and serious investors alike is exactly why it earns its place in this list.
4. Neiro (NEIRO): Japan’s New Meme Powerhouse ($NEIRO) Neiro exploded onto the scene from Japan, where meme investing has its own dedicated following. Built with anime-inspired branding and fueled by strong Asian community activity, NEIRO quickly built traction with early liquidity and grassroots support. It has shown impressive momentum thanks to heavy buying from traders drawn to its cultural roots and character-driven narrative.
With Japan’s meme coin community continuing to grow, NEIRO is carving out a strong position. Its cultural backing is why it’s here on this list of top new meme coins to invest in now.
5. Simon’s Cat (CAT): From Comic to Crypto ($CAT) Simon’s Cat, the famous internet cartoon feline, has transitioned into crypto, bringing with it years of established brand recognition. Unlike purely viral tokens, CAT has a storyline and fanbase that stretches far beyond crypto. Its expansion into blockchain gives fans the chance to invest directly in a character they’ve loved for years.
That crossover between mainstream media and crypto is rare, and it’s why Simon’s Cat made it into this roundup. Its recognition alone makes it a contender among meme coins with lasting appeal.
6. Tutorial (TUTORIAL): Educating While Investing ($TUTORIAL) Tutorial Coin sets itself apart by focusing on blockchain education while rewarding holders. It’s a meme coin with a utility twist—designed to bring new investors into crypto through learning modules, content, and community-driven educational events. This mix of fun branding with real learning keeps Tutorial relevant among forward-thinking meme enthusiasts.
That unique blend of meme culture and knowledge is what makes Tutorial Coin a standout. It’s not just fun, it’s functional—and that’s why it secures a place here.
Conclusion: Last Call Before APC’s 300% Bonus Disappears Meme coins are moving faster than ever, and only a few deliver real wealth potential. Pepe, Memecoin, Neiro, Simon’s Cat, and Tutorial all have their strengths—but Arctic Pablo Coin dominates the spotlight right now. The Stage 39 presale with code BAGS300 is the final window to grab 300% extra APC tokens. Whales are diving in because the math is undeniable: $2500 today could snowball into six or even seven figures at listing and beyond.
The clock is ticking—Coinstore’s X announcement guarantees APC will launch on both PancakeSwap and Coinstore at the end of the presale, cementing it as one of the top new meme coins to invest in now. Every presale stage sells out faster, and when Monday comes, the 300% bonus is gone. For those who hesitate, the moment will be lost. For those who act, Arctic Pablo could define their financial future.

Meanwhile, projects like Neiro are creating their own buzz in the meme coin sector, trying to capture investor attention with hype and community strength. Ethereum competitors are also holding firm, but capital is clearly flowing toward new presales where 10x Crypto opportunities feel more tangible.
This article will cover the developments and updates of all coins mentioned: BlockchainFX ($BFX) and Neiro , giving investors a clear picture of why BlockchainFX could stand out as one of the best cryptos to buy this month.
BlockchainFX: A New Era of Utility and Rewards Table of Contents

What is BlockchainFX ($BFX)?2. How can I make money with crypto using BFX?3. What is the presale price of BFX?4. Why are Crypto Whales interested in BFX?5. What makes BFX better than Neiro? BlockchainFX ($BFX) is not just another meme coin. It is engineered as a multi-asset trading super app, merging crypto with stocks, forex, ETFs, and commodities in a single ecosystem. This real-world utility is what sets it apart and attracts Crypto Whales looking for best cryptos for high ROIs.
Key Features: Daily Passive Income: Holders earn USDT rewards whenever trading happens on the platform. Deflationary Supply: Unsold tokens will be burned, reducing circulating supply and boosting scarcity. Security First: Audits by CertiK and Coinsult confirm its high standards, while Solidproof verified the team. Cross-Market Coverage: Unlike standard meme tokens, BFX allows seamless access to multiple asset classes. It is rare for a presale project to combine meme coin excitement with institutional-level features , and that’s why BlockchainFX is making noise in the top crypto presale lists.
Presale Numbers That Speak Volumes BlockchainFX ($BFX) presale highlights:
Presale Price: $0.024 Listing Price: $0.05 Funds Raised: Over $7.7M (97% of softcap already achieved) Softcap Goal: $8M Total Supply: 3.5 billion BFX Liquidity: Locked after launch Unsold Tokens: Burned Investment Scenario: $2,500 Allocation
$2,500 ÷ $0.024 = 104,166 BFX tokens With BLOCK30 (30% bonus): 135,416 BFX tokens At listing ($0.05): ≈ $6,770 At $1 target: ≈ $135,416 Even a modest $2,500 investment could snowball into six figures if $BFX hits its projected growth. That’s why many rank it among the best cryptos for high ROIs in 2025.
Neiro: Meme Power Without the Depth Neiro has been trending lately thanks to community-driven hype and meme culture appeal. The project taps into internet virality, which has historically propelled tokens like PEPE and Dogecoin into the spotlight. It thrives on social media activity, trending hashtags, and playful branding.
However, unlike BlockchainFX, Neiro’s ecosystem lacks built-in reward mechanics or broad real-world utility. Its growth potential is tied to sentiment, which can shift as quickly as it arrives. While Neiro may capture short bursts of attention, investors looking to make money with crypto long term may hesitate when comparing it with structured presales like BFX.
Why BlockchainFX Stands Taller BlockchainFX provides utility, staking rewards, security audits, and a deflationary design , factors Crypto Whales examine closely. Neiro is entertaining but doesn’t offer the same infrastructure to generate passive income or real-world trading solutions.
Quick Feature Comparison: BlockchainFX vs Neiro Feature BlockchainFX ($BFX) Neiro Meme Coin Utility Beyond Crypto Multi-asset trading platform (crypto, stocks) Primarily meme-driven hype Rewards for Holders Daily USDT rewards from trading activity None Security Audited by CertiK, Coinsult, Solidproof No major security audits listed Supply Model Deflationary with token burns Inflationary meme dynamics Community Growth Driven by utility and staking incentives Driven by meme culture The table shows a clear tilt , while Neiro builds attention through culture, BlockchainFX cements its case with best crypto presale fundamentals.
BlockchainFX: The Ultimate Investment Edge What makes BlockchainFX one of the top cryptos to buy this week isn’t just the presale momentum, but the strategic ecosystem it is developing. Its presale bonus, token burns, liquidity lock, and cross-asset super app vision align it closer to serious trading adoption than meme-only tokens.
Add to this the $500,000 giveaway rewarding 20 winners , including $250,000 for first place , and investors get more than just tokens. By completing tasks like buying BFX, leaving TrustPilot reviews, reposting on X, joining Telegram, or sharing on TikTok, entries increase, with bonus points for completing all. Once the presale sells out, winners will be announced.
It’s rare to see a presale reward system this generous, proving why BlockchainFX is gaining traction as one of the best cryptos to buy for both short-term and long-term ROI.
Why BlockchainFX Is Making Waves in Presales While Neiro and other meme coins focus heavily on branding and social momentum, BlockchainFX is bridging the gap between speculation and actual financial tools. That dual advantage is why more analysts believe BFX has the potential to deliver 100x Gains , a phrase investors don’t throw around lightly.
Projects that combine hype with utility often become magnets for Crypto Whales, and BlockchainFX is carving its place on that list. Every sign , from raised funds to presale bonuses to security audits , points toward a token designed not only to trend but to last.
The Road Ahead: Meme Hype Meets Utility Meme coins like Neiro will always have a place in the crypto space because they fuel community excitement. Yet, the projects that endure long enough to reward early adopters are usually those that tie speculation with practical applications. BlockchainFX offers both.
As the presale moves past $7.7M raised, with a target listing price of $0.05, the math gets clearer: early participants stand to gain the most. Those searching for cryptos to buy this month are eyeing BlockchainFX as a real contender.

US Treasury Secretary: AI boom may boost productivity and help curb inflation.
US Treasury Secretary Bessent told CNBC in an interview that he hopes the Federal Reserve will remain "open-minded" about the inflation pattern after the reversal of Iran-related energy price hikes. Bessent noted that the U.S. could enter an economic environment marked by high GDP growth without a corresponding rise in traditional inflation. He cited that in the 1990s, Alan Greenspan foresaw that office modernization and the internet could drive non-inflationary growth, and allowed the economy to keep expanding. Bessent believes the U.S. has a strong chance of seeing a similar scenario again. When asked whether the Fed still needs to worry about potential inflation and whether interest rate cuts are possible this year or next, Bessent declined to comment. However, he argued that it is necessary to stay open-minded about the price or inflation impacts from the Iran conflict, and monitor inflation performance after those effects subside. Bessent also said an open mind is needed, as the AI boom could boost productivity and deliver disinflationary effects, helping inflation return to the Fed’s target level. He added that he believes Kevin Warsh will choose the optimal path that meets both the Fed’s inflation and growth mandates. Bessent also noted that Warsh previously took a hawkish stance on inflation.

Scroll co-founder Ye Chen’s X account was hijacked in a sophisticated phishing operation where attackers posed as platform employees to target crypto industry figures.
The compromised account, which commands substantial influence among crypto leaders, began distributing fraudulent messages claiming copyright violations and threatening account restrictions unless users clicked on malicious links within 48 hours.
The hackers transformed Chen’s profile to mimic X’s official branding, updating the bio to reference Twitter and nCino while warning followers about security breaches.
Screenshot from XThe attackers flooded the feed with reposts from X’s verified accounts to enhance perceived legitimacy, then launched their phishing campaign via direct messages.
Sophisticated Attack Mirrors Growing PatternThe breach follows established tactics where hackers exploit trusted accounts to distribute malicious links disguised as urgent platform notifications.
Recipients received messages appearing to come from X’s rights management team, complete with fake compliance warnings and time-sensitive appeals processes designed to create panic and bypass security awareness.
Blockchain security researcher Wu Blockchain first identified the compromise and alerted the community to ignore any communications from the account.
The warning emphasized particular concern given Chen’s extensive network of high-profile cryptocurrency executives, developers, and investors who might trust messages from his verified account.

— Wu Blockchain (@WuBlockchain) January 25, 2026 The attack represents the latest escalation in social media compromises targeting crypto industry leaders, in which hackers increasingly leverage delegated account access and expired domain registrations to bypass security measures, including two-factor authentication.
BNB Chain’s official account suffered a similar breach in October when hackers posted fake reward programs with phishing links after Binance co-founder CZ warned followers against clicking suspicious content.
The compromised account promoted fraudulent BSC token distributions, promising early payouts to users who voted on reward dates through malicious URLs designed to drain digital wallets.
Binance co-CEO Yi He’s WeChat account was also hijacked in December to promote meme coin schemes, with attackers conducting a coordinated pump-and-dump operation around the token MUBARA.
Two wallets created hours before the breach accumulated 21.16 million tokens before dumping holdings as retail traders flooded in, netting attackers approximately $55,000 while leaving later buyers exposed to price collapse.
Among other notable accounts hacked were ZKsync and Matter Labs, which were compromised in May through what the team described as “delegated accounts” with limited posting privileges.
Hackers published false claims about an SEC investigation alongside fake airdrop promotions, triggering a 5% drop in the ZK token price despite a prior 38.5% weekly rally.
The prominent crypto media company, Watcher.Guru also confirmed its account breach in March after fake Ripple-SWIFT partnership claims spread across connected Telegram, Facebook, and Discord channels through automated content bots.
The team suspects the compromise originated from a suspicious link containing unusual query strings shared in their Telegram group weeks earlier.
Record Theft Year Exposes Escalating ThreatsThe crypto ecosystem witnessed over $3.4 billion stolen in 2025, according to Chainalysis’s 2026 Crypto Crime Report, with North Korean state-backed hackers accounting for a record $2.02 billion across fewer but increasingly sophisticated attacks.
Source: ChainalysisThe Democratic People’s Republic of Korea now represents 76% of all service compromises, bringing cumulative DPRK cryptocurrency theft to $6.75 billion since operations began.
Personal wallet compromises surged to 158,000 incidents affecting at least 80,000 unique victims, triple the 54,000 cases recorded in 2022.
Address poisoning scams drove December’s single-largest loss, when one victim transferred $50 million to a fraudulent wallet mimicking their intended destination, while private key leaks resulted in $27.3 million stolen from multi-signature wallets.
Personal Security Breaches Surge Across PlatformsMost recently, Ubuntu developer Alan Pope warned that attackers are hijacking Snap Store publisher accounts by registering expired domains linked to legitimate developers, then pushing malicious updates to previously trusted packages.
The technique exploits automatic update systems and established trust signals, with at least 2 confirmed cases of wallet-stealing malware distributed through seemingly normal applications.
Given these growing, multifaceted attack vectors, Better Business Bureau officials are warning consumers about phishing campaigns that lock X users out of their accounts and are subsequently used for cryptocurrency promotions.
Kentucky journalist Jennie Rees described receiving direct messages from apparent colleagues requesting contest votes, only to find her account posting fake Audi purchase claims tied to crypto earnings after clicking the malicious link.

ether.fi, a crypto neobank, is migrating its services from the Scroll blockchain to Optimism's OP Mainnet to leverage enhanced payment capabilities and enterprise-grade support.
ether.fi, a crypto neobank with $5.7 billion of total-value locked, said in an X post it’s migrating from the Scroll blockchain to Optimism's OP Mainnet.
The move aims to capitalize on Optimism’s OP Enterprise to enhance global payment capabilities, access established liquidity and users, and provide enterprise-grade support, according to the company’s blog post.
The migration is significant given ether.fi's substantial user base, boasting approximately 50,000 active cards, according to Cipher Research.
ether.fi offers a digital cash account and card product known as ether.fi Cash, which integrates DeFi features such as fiat-to-crypto flow, yield earning, and a non-custodial wallet.
Previously, ether.fi was hosted on Scroll, the 12th largest Layer 2 solution for Ethereum, with about $100 million of TVL.
Scroll’s SCROLL token is down 2.3% and Ether.fi’s ETHFi is down 3.6%.
This article was generated with the assistance of AI workflows.
Crypto-focused payment platform Ether.fi is shifting its Ether.fi Cash payment network from the Scroll blockchain to OP Mainnet. This transition will see nearly 70,000 active cards and over 300,000 accounts integrated into Optimism’s Superchain ecosystem within a few months. As Ether.fi prepares for a high-volume asset migration, company executives say the move aims to make its consumer applications more efficient and scalable under the new infrastructure.
OP Mainnet Ushers in a New Phase for Ether.fi CashEther.fi, renowned for its innovative restaking services, has been earning rapid recognition in the decentralized finance landscape. By 2024, the platform widened its offerings with Ether.fi Cash, making stablecoin spending and real-world card payments possible for users. Through Ether.fi, customers can either spend stablecoins directly or use staked assets such as eETH as collateral to fund real Visa transactions. The platform claims its cards alone now account for nearly half of all crypto-powered card transactions in the market.
Strategic Rationale for Network MigrationSelecting the right network—one that offers speed and deep liquidity—remains at the heart of every successful crypto payment solution. Ether.fi representatives emphasize that Optimism’s liquidity depth is better suited for this use case than Scroll’s ZK-rollup technology. Throughout the transition, Ether.fi will absorb all card transaction gas fees on behalf of users. The platform currently processes about $2 million in daily spending volume, underscoring the scale of its operations.
Technical and Operational Considerations in MigrationDuring the transition, Ether.fi will utilize support from OP Enterprise and adopt its shared codebase. Ether.fi Cash is recording around 2,000 internal swaps and an impressive 28,000 spending transactions each day, with these numbers reportedly doubling every two months. To ensure users don’t experience disruptions, the protocol is absorbing all transaction costs during the switch. Efficiency and capital effectiveness have been the guiding forces behind this network migration.
According to company data, as many as 3.6 billion transactions took place on the OP Stack infrastructure in the second half of 2025 alone. With Ethereum-based Layer 2 solutions expanding their market share at a brisk pace, the technical advantages and capacity of the Superchain ecosystem position Ether.fi to reach broader audiences at higher speeds.
As Ether.fi consolidates its presence on OP Mainnet, it will leave behind significant daily transaction volume on Scroll. This shift strengthens OP Mainnet’s standing in the ecosystem by integrating a high-volume, loyal user application, while Scroll is set to lose a considerable chunk of daily activities as a result.
Elsewhere in the Ethereum ecosystem, more projects are moving toward tried-and-tested infrastructures that offer mature liquidity and robust reliability over emerging technologies. On the user side, despite backend technical differences, the priority remains a seamless card payment experience without friction or delays.
The Ether.fi team explained that users won’t notice any changes in transaction fees during the migration, emphasizing that their long-term vision is to enable global, on-chain real-world payments.

Both etherfi and Optimism described the transition as a long-term partnership.
Decentralized neobank and crypto card issuer etherfi is leaving Scroll for Optimism, taking with it millions of dollars in total value locked and monthly fees generated on Scroll, data shows.
In an X post on Wednesday, Feb. 18, etherfi said it plans to move its Cash accounts and card program from Scroll to Optimism’s OP Mainnet, migrating more than 70,000 active cards, roughly 300,000 user accounts, and nearly $160 million in TVL in the coming months.
With etherfi, Scroll’s own TVL is only around $188 million as of today, Feb. 19, per data from DefiLlama.
Top protocols by monthly average 1Y fees on Scroll. Source: DefiLlamaThe decision marks a clear break from Scroll, an Ethereum ZK rollup, where etherfi was the dominant consumer-facing app. According to data from DefiLlama, as of today, EtherFi Cash, the company’s crypto card and digital account product, accounted for roughly $13.2 million in annualized fees, and over $23,000 in the past 24 hours.
Scroll dApps by daily fees paid. Source: DefiLlamaFor comparison, Aave V3, the second-largest protocol on Scroll by annual fees, boasts only around $564,000 over the past year, meaning EtherFi Cash produced nearly 23 times more in fees.

Source: DefiLlamaSince launching its Cash product in September 2024, the company says it has processed more than $265 million in card spend, positioning the service as one of the largest non-custodial crypto card programs currently in operation, the firm noted in its X post announcing the migration.
‘Long-Term Partnership’Per its post, etherfi is framing the transition as a “long-term partnership,” pointing to deeper liquidity, broader DeFi integrations and native stablecoin support on Optimism.
In commentary for The Defiant, etherfi co-founder Rok Kopp explained that Optimism “has been one of the pioneers of the L2 space and Ethereum scaling solutions more broadly, and the Superchain has powered many of the most widely used blockchain products in the world.”
Kopp added:
“We are excited to build on battle tested, cost efficient infrastructure we know we can scale effectively on. Working with the OP Labs team has been our pleasure, and we believe our collaboration can help propel the DeFi neobanking space to new heights”Optimism, for its part, also described the migration in a Feb. 18 blog post as a “long-term OP Enterprise partnership” aimed at scaling on-chain payments.
With its leading fee-generating dApp departing, Scroll now faces losing a big chunk of its revenue.
The Defiant reached out to etherfi and Scroll for comments on the move, but hasn’t heard back by press time.
The Ethereum Layer 2 network raised its L1 data cost scalars 1,280x over six days before rolling them back yesterday.
Users on Scroll, an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) network, paid more than $50,000 in excess transaction fees over roughly four days after the team behind the project repeatedly raised the parameters that determine how much users pay for posting data to Ethereum, according to an analysis published by L2BEAT.
The overcharges stemmed from six manual increases to two fee multipliers on Scroll's gas price oracle, the smart contract that calculates the Layer 1 data portion of every transaction's cost. Each update raised the previous value by 2x to 10x, compounding to 1,280x the original baseline by April 5, L2BEAT said. On April 9, the team slashed both multipliers by 160x.
The baseline cost for all roughly 139,000 affected transactions would have been just $280. Instead, users collectively paid upward of $50,000, with automated bots accounting for the vast majority.
Scroll has not publicly addressed the findings at the time of writing.
Etherfi Cash bots, which are still running during the protocol's ongoing migration to Optimism, accounted for roughly $35,000, or 66% of the excess, per L2BEAT. Scroll's own oracle relayer paid approximately $5,200, with LayerZero, Succinct, and other bots making up the rest.
The issue was first flagged by a pseudonymous developer running a Succinct relayer, who posted on X that their transaction costs had jumped from $0.002 to over $20.
"Scroll was subsidizing L1 DA costs and is now correcting to sustainable pricing?" the developer asked. "And there's no users on Scroll except us, so we're paying full price for it?"
Crypto research firm Kairos Research noted that the fee spike appeared to coincide with etherfi's migration to Optimism. When etherfi was Scroll's dominant app, total daily transaction fees from its products averaged about $250. After the multiplier increases began on March 31, that figure jumped to roughly $16,000 per day.
L2BEAT clarified that the overcharges were not a sequencer issue, as the L1 gas prices reported by the oracle were accurate. The entire overcharge came from the multiplier increases, which went through a separate governance path involving the team's multisig wallet.
The episode raises the question of whether Scroll had been running fees below cost to retain users, a common practice among L2s competing for activity, and abruptly repriced once its largest fee contributor departed.
Scroll’s total value locked (TVL) sits at just $24 million, according to DeFiLlama, down 96% from its peak of $585 millon in October 2024.

The governance overhaul comes on the heels of a fee controversy and the departure of the Layer 2 network's top revenue generator.
Scroll is proposing to dissolve its Security Council and slash contributor roles across its DAO, the latest in a string of operational shake-ups for the embattled Ethereum Layer 2 network.
In a forum post published Monday, Scroll contributor Juan outlined plans to transfer protocol admin control from the Security Council to a newly created Scroll Admin multisig, with the transition targeted to be completed within 10 days, pending the council's support.
The team framed the move as a cost-cutting measure, stating that the Security Council's expense could no longer be justified relative to its recent usage. They added that Scroll will work with stakeholders to identify a new council structure "better adapted to current market conditions."
Alongside the council dissolution, four DAO contributor roles, including the Accountability Lead, Accountability Operator, Marketing Operations, and Program Coordination positions, will be eliminated by April 30. A single Facilitator role operated by SEED LATAM will remain active through Q2 2026 to manage delegate operations and governance budgets.
The Operations and Accountability committees will shift to reduced capacity, with the post noting structures "remain in place and can scale back up as activity increases."
The governance restructuring comes at a turbulent time for Scroll. Just last week, users on the network paid more than $50,000 in excess transaction fees after the team briefly raised fee multipliers on Scroll's gas price oracle by a compounding 1,280x. The overcharges predominantly hit automated bots, including those still operating from EtherFi Cash's ongoing migration away from the chain.
EtherFi, Scroll's dominant consumer-facing app and top fee generator by a wide margin, announced in February that it would move its Cash accounts and card program to Optimism's OP Mainnet.
Scroll's TVL now sits at just $24 million, according to DefiLlama, a 96% decline from its October 2024 peak of $585 million.
The forum post states that the DAO "continues to operate and evolve" and encourages delegates to bring forward new proposals. But the combination of a collapsing user base and significant governance downsizing paints a stark picture for one of Ethereum's early zkEVM pioneers.

Scroll has proposed a major overhaul of its governance structure. This includes dissolving its Security Council and transitioning protocol control to a Scroll-administered multisig. The move has already sparked concerns over decentralization and security.
The 13 April proposal also includes scaling back DAO contributor roles and reducing committee activity.
However, some community members warn that the changes could concentrate control and weaken existing oversight mechanisms.
Security Council to be replaced with multisig At the center of the proposal is the planned transition of protocol admin control from the Security Council to a Scroll Admin multisig. The change is expected to take place within 10 days, pending council approval.
The Security Council currently oversees critical protocol functions, including contract upgrades and governance safeguards. Under the new structure, these responsibilities would shift to a multisig controlled by designated signers.
Scroll said the move follows a review of the council’s cost relative to its usage, concluding that maintaining the structure is no longer justified.
The transition would cover key contracts, including the ScrollOwner, AgoraGovernor, and associated timelock contracts. Also, all changes will be executed transparently on-chain.
DAO roles scaled back as activity slows The proposal also outlines a reduction in DAO operations.
Several contributor roles — including marketing, program coordination, and accountability positions — are set to conclude by 30 April 2026.
The Operations and Accountability committees will continue in a reduced capacity, with the option to scale back up if activity increases.
Scroll said the DAO framework remains active, with delegates still able to propose and vote on initiatives.
Concerns emerge over security and decentralization The proposal has sparked debate within the community, particularly around its potential impact on decentralization and security.
Some observers noted that replacing a multi-member Security Council with a smaller multisig could increase reliance on a more concentrated group of operators.
Others suggested that the change could affect how the network is evaluated for security guarantees, particularly if oversight mechanisms are reduced.
There are also procedural considerations. The Security Council itself must approve the transition, meaning the proposal is not guaranteed to pass in its current form.
Also, L2BEAT, which tracks and evaluates Layer 2 networks, is expected to weigh in on rollup security models given its role in assessing them.
A shift toward leaner governance Scroll framed the changes as a move to better align governance with current operational needs, while maintaining the ability to scale structures back up as the ecosystem grows.
The team also indicated that a new form of Security Council could be introduced in the future.
Final Summary Scroll has proposed dissolving its Security Council and shifting protocol control to a multisig, alongside broader DAO restructuring. The move aims to improve efficiency, but has raised questions about decentralization, security, and governance oversight.
PANews reported on April 14th that Scroll has announced a significant proposal regarding the Scroll protocol and governance operations. The team proposes dissolving the Security Council and transferring protocol management authority to the Scroll Admin multisignature address, with the transition expected to be completed within the next ten days. Scroll stated that the Security Council's costs are no longer justified relative to its actual usage over the past few quarters, and resources should be better allocated to product development and growth. Scroll will collaborate with key stakeholders to find a new Security Council structure more suited to current market conditions.
Layer-2 blockchain Scroll looks to cut costs. (Clay Banks/Unsplash)Summary
Scroll is moving to dissolve its decentralized Security Council and reducing DAO staff to cut costs. The downsizing follows a financial hit after Scroll's top protocol migrated to Optimism, draining nearly $160 million in total value locked and $13 million in annualized fees.According to one report, Scroll artificially inflated its network gas fees by 1,280 for a few days after the exit, extracting over $50,000 in excess costs. The decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) behind Ethereum layer-2 network Scroll said it will propose a plan to dissolve its Security Council and transfer control of the network to an account managed by an internal team.
The proposal announcement comes two months after Scroll’s top fee-generating decentralized application (dapp), crypto neobank Ether.fi, moved to Optimism’s OP mainnet. That saw roughly 300,000 user accounts and more than $160 million in total value locked move away from the network.
In a governance update, a Scroll core contributor said the Security Council was simply too expensive. Scroll is laying off several contributors within the DAO and reducing the capacity of its operational committees. The handover is targeted for the next 10 days, pending support from the current council.
“After evaluating the Security Council’s cost relative to its actual usage over the past quarters, we believe continuation is no longer justified,” the post reads.
The project said all contract changes would be executed transparently and remain verifiable onchain.
Adding to the network's turbulence, a recent surge in Scroll's network fees appeared to be artificially manufactured rather than a sign of organic demand.
Over six days in early April, the network raised the amount it charges to publish data to the Ethereum mainnet by a factor of 1,280, creating the illusion of a massive spike in 30-day chain fee momentum, according to analysis from L2BEAT.
The adjustment forced users to pay over $50,000 in excess transaction fees for data posting that ordinarily would have cost roughly $280. The extreme, temporary repricing was rolled back on April 9.
Ether.fi’s migration moved around $13 million in annualized fees away from Scroll, according to DeFiLlama data, and trimmed the network’s TVL to around $23 million.
The decentralized organization behind the Ethereum-based Scroll network has announced a plan to dissolve its Security Council and transfer full control of the network to an internal team. The move comes on the heels of significant drops in both user activity and asset flows on the platform. In recent months, Scroll’s leading decentralized application, Ether.fi, departed with 300,000 users for the Optimism mainnet, resulting in a sharp $160 million outflow from Scroll’s total assets.
Major changes in governance structureUntil now, Scroll’s governance was overseen by a community-driven Security Council. However, the core team has argued that the council’s operating costs no longer justify its continuation, prompting a push toward a new management model. In a message to the community, the team noted that maintaining the current system incurs unnecessary financial burdens. As part of the proposed plan, many DAO contributors will see their roles eliminated, and the responsibilities of operational committees will be reduced.
With the Security Council’s approval, management transition to the internal team is expected to conclude within the next 10 days. The Scroll team emphasized that all decisions and updates to smart contracts will remain fully transparent and verifiable on-chain.
Fee hikes and user discontentEarlier this year in March and April, the Scroll network faced renewed attention after a sudden spike in transaction fees. According to independent analytics firm L2BEAT, Scroll briefly raised its data transmission fee by a staggering 1,280 times at the beginning of April. This dramatic technical adjustment led to seemingly extraordinary increases in 30-day aggregate on-chain fees. However, the team clarified that the spike was artificial and did not reflect organic user demand.
The temporary fee hike forced users to pay an additional $50,000 in transaction costs, whereas under normal circumstances, such activity would have totaled about $280. The inflated fees were rolled back to normal levels as of April 9.
Ether.fi migration deepens declineA significant blow to Scroll came with the departure of Ether.fi, a major decentralized finance (DeFi) application built on Ethereum. As Ether.fi moved 300,000 accounts and hefty transaction volume to the Optimism network, analytics from DeFiLlama show roughly $13 million in annual fees also left Scroll. This migration pushed the total value locked (TVL) on Scroll down to $23 million.
When comparing the Security Council’s recent operation and cost, the Scroll core team concluded, “We don’t think it makes sense to continue.”
Scroll’s structural overhaul, along with recent high-profile migration of apps and funds, have triggered concerns about the network’s future viability. It remains to be seen whether user and capital outflows will continue and just how effective the new governance model will prove to be.
Recent events have also sparked debate among community members about the trade-offs between security, decentralization, and operational efficiency on the network. Some users have voiced disappointment over the abrupt changes while others acknowledge the tough decisions required in challenging conditions.
Industry watchers point out that such governance shifts are not uncommon as decentralized projects mature and encounter new operational challenges. The Scroll team has pledged to maintain transparency throughout the transition process and to address community feedback wherever possible.
Besides the core governance transition, Scroll’s operational roadmap for the coming months will focus on stabilizing user engagement and rebuilding trust after the fee controversy and asset outflows.
Observers say the Scroll network’s next phase will be a key test of its adaptability, technological resilience, and ability to regain lost user and asset traction. Many in the blockchain ecosystem are watching closely to see how Scroll navigates its most critical period yet.

May 28: Scroll co-founder Sandy Peng argues in a new article that the quantum computing threat to Bitcoin isn’t a physical hurdle—it’s a governance and coordination challenge, not a technical one. A March whitepaper from Google Quantum AI estimates breaking Bitcoin’s secp256k1 elliptic curve with an optimized Shor’s algorithm would require roughly 1,200 logical qubits; that’s nearly 20 times fewer than projections from five years ago. IonQ’s official roadmap targets 1,600 logical qubits by 2028, while IBM plans to launch its 2,000-qubit Blue Jay system by 2033. This puts the quantum threat timeline at roughly a decade, possibly even shorter. Attacks will unfold in waves. The most vulnerable targets are early P2PK-formatted Bitcoin addresses, where public keys are permanently recorded on the blockchain. This includes over 1 million bitcoins mined by Satoshi Nakamoto in Bitcoin’s early days—funds that can’t be moved to secure them because the private key’s holder is unknown. Additionally, a so-called “collect first, decrypt later” attack could already be underway: intelligence agencies don’t need to wait for full quantum computer maturity to exploit this, as they can simply store encrypted data now to decrypt it later once quantum tech advances. Once quantum computers are ready, unconfirmed transactions in the mempool will face real-time double-spend attacks within Bitcoin’s typical 10-minute confirmation window. Though NIST released post-quantum cryptography algorithm standards in 2024, migrating Bitcoin to these standards comes with steep costs: studies suggest network throughput would drop by 52% to 57%, transaction fees would double or triple, and storage requirements would rise significantly. This amounts to a “defensive downgrade”: costs hit immediately, while benefits are abstract and far in the future. That makes consensus near-impossible for the Bitcoin community, which took nearly two years to even reach agreement on the SegWit upgrade. By contrast, Vitalik Buterin has already rolled out an Ethereum quantum emergency roadmap that lets individual accounts switch to quantum-resistant signatures autonomously—no network-wide vote required. Peng warns Bitcoin won’t collapse to zero, but its survival path is narrower than optimists claim, and the quantum threat window almost exactly overlaps with the 10 to 15 years the Bitcoin community will need to build consensus. Early Bitcoin holders are advised to check their address formats and migrate promptly, while institutional investors should integrate a “post-quantum migration roadmap” into their due diligence frameworks.

The meme coin sector is showing pockets of strength even as the broader crypto market trades cautiously. Whale flows and technical divergences are building across several tokens simultaneously, suggesting that capital is quietly rotating back into the category. BeInCrypto analysts have identified three key meme coins to watch this week.
While several factors have influenced the coin identification, on-chain accumulation and chart structure converging are the key triggers.
Shiba Inu (SHIB)Shiba Inu (SHIB) trades at $0.00000602, up 11% over the past 30 days but still down 13% year-to-date. Whale wallets have been gradually increasing their holdings since a sharp accumulation phase began around March 13, when balances surged to above 771 trillion SHIB. Since April 1, whales have added another 2.02 trillion tokens worth approximately $12.16 million, pushing total holdings to 773.79 trillion.
Whale Holdings: SantimentThe daily chart supports the case for a potential reversal and validates renewed whale interest. Between January 31 and April 5, price made a lower low while the Relative Strength Index (RSI), a momentum oscillator, made a higher low. That standard bullish divergence flashed on April 2 as well, and SHIB has since bounced before failing at the 0.382 Fibonacci level . The token now trades just above that level, sitting at $0.00000599.
However, meaningful resistance sits at $0.0000064, a level that has capped every recovery attempt since February 18. A clean close above that level would open the path toward $0.0000072 and higher. A fall below $0.0000057 would weaken the divergence setup and expose $0.0000052 as the next floor.
SHIB Price Analysis: TradingViewA close above $0.0000064 confirms whale-backed strength, while a break below $0.0000057 invalidates the divergence for now.
SPX6900 (SPX)SPX6900 (SPX) sits near $0.28, up 6.51% on the day after crypto influencer Murad Mahmudov argued that SPX is stabilizing at the same market cap level where Dogecoin and Pepe consolidated before their explosive rallies.
The chart tells a more cautious story about this meme coin to watch. The daily timeframe shows a developing head and shoulders pattern. The neckline sits at $0.24. A confirmed break below that level would activate a 31% measured move target.
Chaikin Money Flow (CMF), a proxy for institutional buying and selling pressure, reads -0.17 and remains well below the zero line. That negative reading means big money has not been flowing in despite the price bounce. Until CMF crosses above zero, every rally risks forming the right shoulder of a bearish reversal pattern rather than the start of a sustained move.
SPX Price Analysis: TradingViewWant more token insights like this? Sign up for Editor Harsh Notariya’s Daily Crypto Newsletter here.
Any price peak toward $0.38 while CMF stays negative would complete the right shoulder and strengthen the bearish case. For the pattern to be invalidated, SPX would need to reclaim $0.35 with CMF turning positive. However, if it fails to hold above $0.29 and breaks the $0.24 neckline, the pattern projects a drop toward $0.22 and lower.
A reclaim of $0.35 with positive CMF weakens the head and shoulders formation and a move above $0.38 invalidates the bearishness altogether. However, a break below $0.24 activates a 31% downside target.
Pepe (PEPE)Pepe (PEPE) is at $0.000003544, up 4% over the past 30 days and 6% over the past seven days. Among the meme coins to watch this week, PEPE shows the most aligned setup between whale activity and chart structure.
On-chain data from Santiment reveals a sharp spike in whale holdings on April 5, jumping from 186.91 trillion to 188.14 trillion PEPE. That 1.23 trillion token increase worth roughly $4.36 million represents fresh accumulation rather than a redistribution between wallets, as the move coincides with a visible buying wick on the price chart.
PEPE Whale Holdings: SantimentThe daily chart confirms the momentum shift. Between February 11 and April 2, price printed a lower low while RSI printed a higher low, forming a standard bullish divergence. Since the divergence completed, PEPE has rallied approximately 11% with whales adding incrementally between April 1 and April 5. The token now trades above the $0.0000032 support and is approaching the $0.0000036 resistance.
A close above $0.0000036 would confirm the breakout and target $0.0000043 at the next major technical level. Above that, the uptrend extends toward $0.0000047 and higher. A fall below $0.0000032 would weaken the divergence structure and open the path toward $0.0000031 and lower.
PEPE Price Analysis: TradingViewA close above $0.0000036 confirms the whale-backed rally has legs. However, a break below $0.0000032 would undermine the bullish divergence setup.
SPX6900 just posted a surprise 10% Easter Monday pump after an 87% drawdown, and somewhere in the same week, a regulated super app called BlockchainFX is days away from closing its presale at $0.035. One coin is recovering from a brutal correction, and the other hasn’t even launched yet. For anyone hunting the top crypto to buy this week, the timing here is hard to ignore, and the contrast between the two stories tells you a lot about where smart money is actually moving right now.
While SPX6900’s rebound is grabbing headlines, BlockchainFX is quietly doing something much more significant: it has raised over $14.17M from 22,900+ participants and is less than $1M away from hitting its $15M softcap, the trigger point for its full exchange launch. It trades, earns, and pays staking rewards daily, all from one platform. The presale window is closing fast, and once that softcap is hit, BFX launches. That urgency is very real and very now.

BlockchainFX Presale: The Launch Countdown Has Officially StartedGet 50% Bonus $BFX Tokens Before LaunchSPX6900 Bounces Hard But the Bigger Picture Stays CautiousThe Verdict: One Pump, One Launch, One Clear Top Crypto to Buy This WeekFind Out More Information Here: BlockchainFX is a next-generation trading platform that bridges crypto and traditional financial markets in one place. Think Binance meets Coinbase, but decentralized, self-custodied, and covering stocks, forex, ETFs, and commodities alongside crypto. It was awarded Best New Crypto Trading App of 2025 and is already live in beta with thousands of daily users and millions in daily trading volume. It is licensed and regulated by the Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority, which is not something most presale projects can say. The presale has already pulled in over $14.17M from more than 22,900 participants, with the current price sitting at $0.035 and the launch price set at $0.050.
The platform’s daily staking rewards, paid in both BFX and USDT every Monday, give holders a passive income stream from day one. That is something most presale tokens simply do not offer before launch. It is already working, already earning, and already scaling. That is a meaningful difference for anyone evaluating the top crypto to buy this week based on more than just speculation.
Get 50% Bonus $BFX Tokens Before Launch Right now, buyers using the bonus code LAUNCH50 receive 50% more BFX tokens on every purchase, and this offer is tied directly to the final presale stretch before the $15M softcap is hit. To put that into real numbers: a $2,000 investment at $0.035 normally buys roughly 57,142 BFX tokens. With LAUNCH50 applied, that jumps to approximately 85,714 BFX tokens at no extra cost.
At the launch price of $0.050, that allocation is already worth $4,285, a 114% gain before the token is even listed. Analysts are placing post-launch targets at $1 per BFX, which would take that same $2,000 entry to $85,714 in value. That is the kind of early-entry math that makes this one of the top crypto to buy this week conversations worth taking seriously.
Spend $100 or more on BFX and unlock a chance to win a share of the $500,000 Gleam giveaway, with first place taking home $250,000 in BFX tokens.
The window is genuinely shrinking. As BFX closes in on its $15M softcap, the launch sequence begins. Anyone waiting for the right moment should note that this is it. The top crypto to buy this week, based on presale fundamentals, active platform, regulated status, and a live bonus code, is BlockchainFX.

SPX6900 Bounces Hard But the Bigger Picture Stays Cautious SPX6900 pulled off an impressive 10% pump on Easter Monday, bouncing from the $0.27 support zone back toward $0.30 after an 87% decline from its all-time high. The RSI climbed above 70, and the MACD crossed into positive territory, both signs that buying pressure returned in a meaningful way. For a memecoin that had been sliding for weeks, this is a genuine recovery signal and shows the community still has some pulse left in it.
That said, SPX6900 remains well below its key Fibonacci resistance at $0.71, which is the level analysts say must be reclaimed before any real bullish structure returns. The broader trend is still bearish, and the Easter pump looks more like a short-term relief rally than a confirmed reversal. For traders already holding SPX6900, the bounce offers some breathing room, but new entries at this point carry real risk until sustained volume confirms the move.
The Verdict: One Pump, One Launch, One Clear Top Crypto to Buy This Week Based on the latest research and on-chain data, the best crypto presale opportunity available right now is BlockchainFX. SPX6900’s recovery is interesting as a market story, but it is a speculative memecoin still trying to climb out of an 87% hole. BlockchainFX, on the other hand, is a regulated, live, revenue-generating platform sitting $830K away from its launch trigger.
The top crypto to buy this week is not a close call. BFX at $0.035, with LAUNCH50 applied, with a $1 analyst target and a launch date closing in, is the clearest risk-reward play in the current market. Do not sit on this one.

SPX6900 [SPX] was among the best-performing memecoins, with the price gaining over 12% in the past 24 hours.
The memecoin has had an unrealized profit of 47% since the beginning of April, but entered into a correction two days ago. This correction seems to have ended, as the price bounced off the $0.30 zone.
What are key drivers of SPX price? The bounce-off resulted in double-digit gains, with social media buzz playing a huge role in increasing trading activity. As a result, the daily trading volume jumped by 86%, reaching $11.34 million at press time.
As per Crypto Insights, SPX was the most trending memecoin in the past 24 hours on Binance Square. Other memecoins in this sector are Pudgy Penguins [PENGU], Mogcoin [MOG], and TURBO.
Additionally, there was a potential ‘ETH meme season’ attracting speculative capital. Sustaining this social buzz may result in rallies in other Ethereum [ETH] memecoins like Pepe [PEPE].
Moreover, traders were taking more leveraged long positions than shorts. As per CoinGlass, the cumulative long liquidation leverage was $2.70 million, almost 3x the value of shorts.
Most of these buy orders were placed between the $0.27 and $0.30 zones, where the correction ended. The highest liquidation leverage was at $0.27.
Source: CoinGlass On the other hand, the leveraged shorts accounted for $962K, indicating weak sell pressure. In fact, the leverage past $0.38 had been reduced to 10x and 5x magnitudes.
Is SPX6900’s correction over? On the charts, SPX6900 price had been bullish since the month started, with market structure creating higher highs and lows. However, this uptrend was overturned at $0.38, with sellers pushing the price down to $0.30.
The correction ended at $0.30, with a break above the neckline of the inverted head-and-shoulders at $0.34. As of press time, the memecoin was approaching the resistance level at $0.38, having recovered more than 90% from the correction.
In support of this uptrend was the On-Balance Volume (OBV) at 371 million, which was rising over the past two days. Moreover, the MACD bars were growing following the signal lines’ crossover.
Source: SPX/USDT on TradingView Altogether, the memecoin price remained in a bigger sideways market.
Therefore, breaking above $0.40 would shift the market bullish, putting $0.70 as a target. Otherwise, failure to breach $0.40 would take the SPX price back to the $0.26 zone.
Final Summary SPX6900 [SPX] rebounded from $0.30, with volume rising 86% to $11.34M and long leverage reaching $2.70M A break above $0.40 could push SPX toward $0.70, while failure may drop the price back to $0.26 support.
PANews reported on April 28th that, according to SoSoValue data, the cryptocurrency market generally saw a pullback. The Meme sector fell 3.45% in the last 24 hours, with SPX6900 (SPX) down 6.73% and MemeCore (M) down 14.74%. However, Pump.fun (PUMP) bucked the trend, rising 4.14%. Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) rose 2.51% before falling below $78,000, while Ethereum (ETH) fell 3.71%, dropping to around $2,300.
It is worth noting that only the NFT sector rose by 2.29%, with Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) rising by 10.01% and SuperVerse (SUPER) rising by 3.74%.
In other sectors, the DeFi sector fell 1.72% in the last 24 hours, with Jupiter (JUP) rising 5.35%; the CeFi sector fell 1.78%, with Aster (ASTER) falling 2.72%; the Layer 1 sector fell 2.31%, with Solana (SOL) falling 2.95%; the PayFi sector fell 2.91%, with SafePal (SFP) rising 2.39% intraday; and the Layer 2 sector fell 3.13%, with Starknet (STRK) falling 5.45%.
PANews reported on April 30th that, according to SoSoValue data, the cryptocurrency market saw mixed performance, with the meme sector performing relatively well, rising 3.89% in the last 24 hours. Specifically, Dogecoin (DOGE) rose 7.40%, BUILDon (B) rose 9.16%, and SPX6900 (SPX) and Siren (SIREN) rose 3.87% and 4.84% respectively. Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) fell 0.30% to $77,000, while Ethereum (ETH) fell 0.87%, remaining above $2,200.
Other sectors that performed well include: the AI sector, which rose 1.11% in the last 24 hours, with SkyAI (SKYAI) surging 27.53%; and the Layer 2 sector, which rose 0.19%, with Arbitrum (ARB) rising 2.97%.
In other sectors, the PayFi sector fell 0.12%, but Trust Wallet (TWT) rose 0.95%; the Layer 1 sector fell 0.39%, while Aptos (APT) surged 4.75% intraday; the CeFi sector fell 0.55%, while Bitget Token (BGB) remained relatively strong, rising 1.08%; and the DeFi sector fell 1.06%, while Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) bucked the trend, rising 8.83%.
SPX6900 [SPX] was built to emulate the S&P 500 index and maybe flip it, according to its developer. However, that seems to be a far-fetched idea.
SPX6900 rose to a $2 billion market cap but has since dropped to $300 million, an 86% decline.
In the past 24 hours, SPX6900 lost about 10% of its cap, aligning with the broader memecoin market, which lost 4.27%. Its daily trading volume also increased by more than 15%, confirming the sell pressure. But where was this selling coming from?
What are holders doing? As per on-chain data of holders of SPX on the Solana [SOL] blockchain, it was evident that they were selling.
Token balances of Smart Money wallets declined by almost 1% during this period to around 63,529. This indicated the informed traders were selling their SPX holdings.
Additionally, high-value wallets with over $1 million in SPX were cashing out. This number of whales decreased by 38% to around 37,280 as of press time.
Public figures who have been very promotional of the token have also turned their backs on it. The number of public figures holding SPX decreased by 97%, and now, only 2,533 of their wallets are remaining.
Source: Nansen AI Exchange balances show that not only large holders are selling but also retailers. According to Nansen AI, the exchange balance increased by 14%, or 6.59 million SPX, which is now ready for sale. Moving tokens into exchanges often signals looming selling activity.
All was not lost, as the top 100 addresses increased their holdings by more than 8%. This group acquired approximately 41.08 million SPX.
However, the result of gauging the behavior of all these holders was that they were selling. The capital inflow from the top 100 addresses was insufficient to offset the massive sell-offs by four groups.
SPX breaks below key levels Hence, the SPX6900 price broke below key levels, confirming this sell pressure.
The memecoin dropped into a three-month sideways range consolidation after breaking below $0.3764. This level coincided with the 100-day moving average (DMA), which was at $0.3799. This meant SPX had lost a midterm support level.
Additionally, the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) was in the negative territory, that is, at -0.15. This indicator confirmed the sell pressure seen from the holders.
Source: SPX/USDT on TradingView If memecoins continue to weaken, then SPX may drop to the support of the range at $0.2530.
However, if SPX reclaims the lost levels, the uptrend that started in early May may resume. This is potentially because traders might buy, seeing the drop as a discount.
Final Summary SPX6900 dropped more than 10% in 24 hours as holders increasingly sold their tokens. SPX price lost two key support levels as it dropped back to a three-month range.
Not every meme coin on the market deserves your attention, but a few of them genuinely do. Little Pepe is one, currently in Stage 13 of its presale at $0.0022 with over $28 million raised and 98% of tokens already gone. Bonk and SPX6900 round out this list for different reasons, and all three have real upside left on the table.
Little Pepe: The Presale That Is Basically Already Over Stage 13 is nearly gone. Little Pepe has raised over $28 million, tokens are 98% sold, and the price is moving up to the next stage. That is not manufactured urgency; those numbers are live on the presale tracker. Unlike typical meme coins, LILPEPE is powered by a meme Layer 2 chain that delivers sniper bot resistance, zero buy or sell taxes, and near-zero trading fees. That kind of structural difference is what separates a real project from the thousand other meme launches nobody remembers six months later.
With exchange listings on the horizon and over 15 ETH in giveaway prizes to boost engagement, Little Pepe could become the first meme coin ecosystem, not just a token. That distinction matters more than most people realize. Projects that build ecosystems tend to survive the inevitable corrections. Projects that are just tokens riding a wave usually do not make it past the first big red candle. Little Pepe is clearly trying to be the former, and the presale capital flowing in suggests many people agree.
Bonk Is Still Solana’s Most Recognizable Dog BONK went up over 2,000% in its first week of trading. Best performing crypto of 2023 by return. That kind of start does not easily get forgotten. Half the supply was airdropped straight to Solana users, no insider allocation nonsense, and that fairness angle still means something to people who have been around long enough to know the difference.
It is trading around $0.000006 now, well off its all-time high of $0.00005825. But token burns are planned, and LetsBonk.fun buybacks are adding deflationary pressure over time. Some forecasts have it hitting $0.00001122 before year-end. Not the move that retires anyone, but real enough for people who got in at the right time. Bonk is not the loudest coin on this list. It just has the receipts to back up why it belongs here.
SPX6900 Is Doing Something Most Meme Coins Cannot SPX6900 brands itself as the S&P 500 of meme coins. SPX6900 is sitting roughly 84% below its peak. But the infrastructure is still there, and so is the community conviction. 7,390 wallets held at least $1,000 worth of SPX as of March 2026, and prominent holder Murad Mahmudov holds roughly 29.96 million SPX with no on-chain sales despite a $60 million unrealized loss. That kind of holder behavior is not common in meme coins.
SPX6900 price prediction suggests the coin could reach $1.15 by the end of 2026, with some more bullish forecasts pointing even higher. SPX6900 posted a 19% weekly gain in late April 2026, breaking out of its accumulation channel with rising social mentions across X. The meme coin crowd is paying attention again, and SPX has the brand, the tokenomics, and the holder base to do something with that attention when market conditions line up.
Final Word Little Pepe, Bonk, and SPX6900 each bring something different to this list. One is a presale on its last legs before launch, one is Solana’s original dog coin with deflation mechanics kicking in, and one is a culturally sharp Ethereum token sitting deep in a correction with serious holders refusing to fold. None of them requires blind faith. Check the Little Pepe presale now and join the Telegram community for daily updates before Stage 13 closes for good.

SPX6900, the memecoin that literally named itself after the S&P 500 index with a higher number, just landed on South Korea’s biggest digital asset exchange. Upbit opened deposits for SPX today at 14:00 KST, with trading available against Korean Won, Bitcoin, and Tether.
What is SPX6900 and why does anyone care SPX6900 launched in August 2023 on Ethereum with a straightforward, if slightly unhinged, thesis: it wants to “overturn” the S&P 500. The token’s entire brand identity is built around satirizing traditional finance, positioning itself as a meme-powered alternative to the most watched stock index on the planet.
The token started as an ERC-20 on Ethereum but has since expanded to Solana and Base through the Wormhole bridging protocol.
SPX6900 has a total supply of 1 billion tokens, with approximately 930.99 million currently in circulation. Around 69 million tokens, roughly 6.9% of total supply, have been burned. The 6.9% burn figure is almost certainly intentional, given memecoin culture’s affection for that particular number.
At current trading prices between $0.33 and $0.35, SPX6900 carries a market cap in the $315M to $325M range. Twenty-four-hour trading volume sits between $6M and $7M.
The listing trail that led to Upbit This isn’t SPX6900’s first major exchange listing. Gate.io added the token back in October 2024, and Coinbase followed in September 2025. Each listing expanded the token’s accessibility and liquidity, and the Upbit addition follows that same playbook.

South Korea’s largest crypto exchange, Upbit, announced trading support for SPX6900 (SPX) on June 16.
Summary
Upbit opened SPX trading across KRW, BTC, and USDT pairs, expanding access for Korean traders. Bithumb added SPX and SPACE to KRW markets, linking meme and DePIN tokens for users. SPX traded higher on crypto.news data, with volume rising as listings drew fresh attention. The exchange set SPX trading to start at 14:00 KST across KRW, BTC, and USDT markets. The listing gives SPX direct access to won-based trading and two major crypto pairs on one of the country’s main exchanges.
Bithumb also announced support for SPX6900 in the KRW market. The exchange set the SPX/KRW market to open at 17:00 KST, three hours after Upbit’s planned start. The two listings place SPX in front of Korean retail traders during the same trading day.
SPX6900 is a meme token based on a parody of the S&P 500. The project uses market culture and internet humor as its main identity. The listings do not change the token’s core use case, but they add new centralized exchange access in a major Asian crypto market.
Bithumb also adds Spacecoin Bithumb also listed Spacecoin (SPACE) in the KRW market. The exchange set SPACE trading to start at 14:00 KST, with deposits and withdrawals expected within two hours of the notice. Bithumb said it supports SPACE deposits on the Ethereum network only.
Spacecoin is a DePIN project focused on satellite-based global internet access. Bithumb described the project as building a decentralized connection layer for global data transfer. The project’s token, SPACE, is expected to support satellite services, staking, and partner-related payments.
Spacecoin (SPACE) traded near $0.0077 at press time, indicating 17% increase in the past 24 hours and almost 20% in the past 7 days, according to CoinGecko data.
The SPX and SPACE listings show that Bithumb added two different token categories on the same day. SPX sits in the meme coin sector, while SPACE sits in the decentralized physical infrastructure network sector. Both opened with KRW market access, which lets Korean traders trade them directly against the won.
Bithumb also set trading controls for the new markets. The exchange said buy orders would be blocked for the first five minutes after trading starts. It also said some sell orders and order types would face limits during the early trading window.
The exchange also warned users about risk. Bithumb said virtual assets are “high-risk products,” and users can lose all or part of their funds. It added that investors remain responsible for their own trading decisions.
SPX price rises after listing news Crypto.news price data showed SPX6900 trading at $0.377031 on June 16. The token rose 9.32% in 24 hours, while seven-day performance stood at 26.83%. Its 24-hour trading volume reached $27.69 million, with the price moving between $0.33316 and $0.39646 during the same period.
The token held a market capitalization of about $350.9 million and ranked #130 by market cap on the crypto.news price page. Its fully diluted valuation matched the same figure. The circulating supply stood at 930.99 million SPX, with a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens.
The latest daily chart showed a short-term recovery from a lower consolidation range. SPX has moved mostly sideways after a long decline from earlier highs. The current price remains well below its all-time high of $2.27, reached on July 28, 2025.
SPX was still down 74.8% over the past year, based on crypto.news data. The 30-day move stood at 1.59%, while the 200-day change was down 45.82%. These numbers show that the latest rebound came after a long pullback.
Momentum improves, but resistance remains The short-term chart showed SPX moving back toward the upper part of its recent trading range. The nearest resistance area sits around $0.40 to $0.45, where price had faced selling pressure in May. A clean move above that zone would show stronger short-term demand, while another rejection would keep the range in place.
The relative strength index stood at 60.81, above its moving average of 44.78. That reading shows stronger buying pressure in the short term. The indicator remained below the overbought zone, so the move had not reached an extreme level by that measure.
SPX6900 (SPX) price chart, source: TradingView The MACD also showed early improvement. The histogram was positive near 0.0082, while the MACD line stood above the signal line. Both lines remained close to the zero area, which shows that the rebound was still developing.
The Korean exchange listings added a new trading event for SPX6900 after a period of weak long-term performance. Traders will now watch whether Korean market access can support volume beyond the opening sessions. SPACE will also face its first KRW market test on Bithumb as users assess demand for the satellite-based DePIN project.
The listings also arrived during broader interest in Korean won trading pairs this week.

SPX6900(SPX) meme coin surged more than 10%, trading above $0.380 at the time of writing on Tuesday. This rally came in as South Korea’s crypto exchanges Upbit and Bithumb announced on Tuesday the listing of the SPX token. In addition, rising Open Interest (OI), increasing trading volume, and a constructive technical outlook indicate growing trader participation, suggesting the rally could have further room to run.
South Korea’s crypto exchanges’ listings spark renewed buying pressureSouth Korea’s largest crypto exchange, Upbit and second-largest crypto exchange, Bithumb, announced on Tuesday that they will list SPX6900 with KRW and USDT trading pairs.
SPX6900 is a meme coin project with a vision that criticizes and aims to surpass the limitations of the traditional S&P 500 index, based on the logic that "6900 is greater than 500."
This news is bullish for the SPX memecoin, as an exchange listing enhances wider adoption, widens liquidity and boosts the project’s credibility. SPX surges more than 10% after this news, reaching a high of $0.040 on the day.
Growing trader participation lifts SPXCoinGlass data shows that the futures’ Open Interest (OI) at exchanges in SPX6900 reached $39.29 million on Tuesday, up from $20.65 million on Saturday. An increasing OI indicates new or additional money entering the market and new buying, which could fuel a rally in the SPX price.
SPX open interest chart. Source: CoinglassSantiment data shows that the SPX6900 ecosystem’s trading volume (the aggregate trading volume generated by all exchange applications on the chain) reached $89.3 million on Tuesday, the highest since early February 2025. This volume rise indicates a surge in traders’ interest and liquidity in SPX, boosting its bullish outlook.
SPX trading volume chart. Source: SantimentSPX6900 Price Forecast: Bulls targeting the $0.455 markSPX6900 trades above $0.380 on Tuesday, extending its gains over 15% so far this week. SPX is trading above the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) near $0.345 and $0.362, respectively, which support a near-term bullish bias.
If SPX continues its upward move and closes above these key EMAs, it could extend the rally toward the 200-day EMA at $0.455.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart reads 62, above the neutral level of 50, indicating bullish momentum gaining traction. Moreover, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) showed a bullish crossover on June 11, which remains intact with rising green histogram bars further supporting the positive outlook.
SPX/USDT daily chartHowever, if SPX faces correction, it could extend the decline toward the daily support at $0.355.
When a major exchange lists a token that barely hides its meme origins, the market listens. Upbit, South Korea’s dominant cryptocurrency trading platform, has announced it will list SPX6900 (SPX) against the Korean won, Bitcoin, and Tether, with deposits already open and trading set to start at 14:00 KST on June 16. The token is issued on Ethereum, making it another entrant in the meme coin sector that continues to attract speculative capital. The announcement appeared in a notice highlighted by WuBlockchain.
SPX6900’s ticker and name are an obvious nod to the S&P 500 index, the “69” suffix being a staple of internet meme culture. While the project’s official literature may paint a picture of community governance and DeFi use cases, its primary driver appears to be the same as most meme tokens: viral narrative and retail momentum. That hasn’t stopped major exchanges from embracing such assets. Upbit itself has listed Dogecoin and Shiba Inu in the past, and the debut of SPX6900 on a fiat on‑ramp exchange could funnel fresh Korean won into the token.
Why an Upbit listing matters Korean exchanges operate in a regulatory environment that demands thorough vetting of listed assets. A listing on Upbit is often interpreted as a signal that the token has passed the exchange’s compliance checks, even if its underlying value proposition remains thin. For SPX6900, that vetting opens the door to one of the world’s most active retail crypto markets. Korean traders are known for their outsized influence on altcoin prices, sometimes creating the so‑called Kimchi premium when local demand outstrips global supply.
Korean crypto communities on platforms like Kakaotalk and Naver were already buzzing about the listing hours before trading opened, a pattern seen with previous meme coin additions. The availability of KRW, BTC, and USDT trading pairs ensures that SPX6900 will be accessible to both local won‑based traders and international users who prefer dollar‑pegged entry points. The BTC pair, in particular, allows crypto‑native traders to rotate profits from Bitcoin into a high‑beta altcoin without touching fiat. Meme tokens have repeatedly appeared among the top gainers in weekly rankings, drawing attention from traders chasing momentum rather than fundamentals.
Ethereum remains the meme coin settlement layer SPX6900 is an ERC‑20 token, meaning it settles on Ethereum. This is notable because meme coin activity has mostly moved to Solana and Base due to lower fees. Ethereum, however, still provides the deepest liquidity and the most robust security guarantees for projects that hope to land on institutional-facing venues like Upbit. The network continues to dominate blockchain developer activity charts, a sign that its ecosystem remains central to new token launches.
Deposits for SPX are open on the Ethereum network only, with no mention of any layer‑2 bridge. That decision, whether technical or logistical, concentrates initial liquidity on a single chain and avoids the fragmentation that often plagues multi‑chain meme tokens. It also imposes higher deposit costs for users, which could dampen some retail enthusiasm but may attract larger players comfortable with Ethereum gas fees.
Uncertainty after the listing pop New listings on large exchanges often produce a brief price spike as arbitrageurs and market makers establish positions. Whether SPX6900 can sustain any listing‑driven momentum is less clear. Meme tokens typically rely on social media cycles that fade quickly. Korean regulators have also been tightening oversight of exchanges, and sudden volatility in newly listed tokens could draw scrutiny. Upbit, for its part, has maintained a careful approach to listings but has not shied away from speculative assets that generate trading volume.
For traders, the immediate question is whether SPX’s debut will mimic the explosive, short‑lived rallies seen with other meme coin listings on Korean platforms. The three‑pair launch gives the token more avenues for order flow than a typical KRW‑only listing, but the underlying tokenomics and community traction remain unproven. The next few hours will show whether SPX6900 can convert meme momentum into real liquidity on one of Asia’s biggest crypto exchanges.

SPX6900 is up by over 12%, hovering at $0.38. SPX’s volume has skyrocketed by over 1167%. SPX6900 (SPX) was listed on South Korea’s Upbit and the second-largest exchange, Bithumb. It is currently trading at around $0.3853, after a surge of over 12.8%. If the current momentum sustains, the asset could likely break the higher crucial ranges.
Besides, the asset’s market cap is stationed at $356.08 million, and SPX’s daily trading volume has skyrocketed by over 1167%, reaching the $79.29 million mark. The lowest and highest trading levels were found between $0.3326 and $0.4018, respectively.
Zooming in on the 24-hour price chart, SPX6900’s bulls are in charge and have entered the bullish zone. The price is likely to move up toward the resistance range at $0.3924. A strong correction on the upside could trigger the emergence of the golden cross and take the price above $0.40.
On the downside, if the potent bears reappear, the SPX6900 price chart would turn red. The price might fall to the support zone at around $0.3763. Upon the bearish pressure moving deep down, the death cross could take place, and gradually send the asset’s price down to $0.36.
SPX6900’s Momentum: How Much Higher Can It Actually Go? The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line is above the signal line, and both are above the zero line. This indicates that the SPX market is in a confirmed bullish trend. The buying momentum is currently stronger than the selling momentum.
In addition, SPX6900’s Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator reading of 0.37 points to strong buying pressure and substantial capital inflows. Also, the buyers are actively accumulating, and there is strong demand and healthy market participation.
SPX’s daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) is positioned at 66.68, suggesting strong bullish momentum, with buyers maintaining control. As it is above the neutral level, there is sustained buying strength. Traders may watch if it moves into overbought territory.
Furthermore, the Bull Bear Power (BBP) reading of 0.0698 showcases a modest bullish advantage. The SPX6900 price is trading slightly above its average level. However, the value is relatively low, where the bullish pressure is not particularly strong.

In the past 24 hours, SPX6900 [SPX] has rallied by 16.3%.
According to CoinMarketCap data, its daily trading volume has increased by 1,061%, or just over tenfold. Open Interest was up by 109.44% in the same window.
This pointed toward a trading frenzy and heavy bullish sentiment. In recent hours, the two largest South Korean crypto exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, announced the listing of the SPX token against KRW and USDT pairs.
The memecoin, by itself, has little utility, and its price moves are driven by the market sentiment and not the fundamentals. The token’s homepage calls it a “paradigm shift,” but this is a satirical take, as is the meme’s objective of flipping the S&P 500.
Understanding the SPX6900 token’s structural shift Since October 2025, Bitcoin [BTC] has been in a higher timeframe trend. Generally, memecoins tend to do well toward the end of a Bitcoin bull run, when capital rotation floods into increasingly speculative avenues, such as memes.
Source: SPX/USD on TradingView The recent bounce up to $0.40 broke the 20-day moving average, showing upward momentum. Moreover, the CMF was above +0.05 and the OBV was also slowly trending higher.
The volume and momentum indicators showed a sustained upward move was possible. However, the SPX swing structure on the 1-day chart was bearish.
A rally up to the $0.505-$0.582 Fibonacci retracement levels is possible, but the move might struggle to go any further.
Traders’ call to action – Take advantage of the short-term momentum Source: SPX/USD on TradingView On the 2-hour timeframe, a bullish swing structure break was seen when the memecoin rocketed past the previous swing high at $0.3609 (white). A new high at $0.4067 has since been established.
The CMF and OBV indicators continued to signal that buyers were in control in the short-term.
The higher timeframe showed potential for a relief rally up to $0.582. The lower timeframe momentum has also shifted bullishly.
So long as Bitcoin does not undergo a severe selloff, traders can wait for an SPX pullback toward $0.30-$0.32 to go long.
Final Summary The SPX6900 rally was partly spurred by listings on major South Korean crypto exchanges. The higher timeframe trend remains bearish for the memecoin, but a sizeable short-term rally is possible.
PANews reported on June 17th that, according to SoSoValue data, the crypto market saw mixed performance across sectors, with the DeFi sector performing exceptionally well, rising 7.29% in the last 24 hours. Among them, LAB (LAB) rose 37.97%, Block Street (BSB) and Uniswap (UNI) rose 31.18% and 10.72% respectively, and Hyperliquid (HYPE) rose 10.38%, briefly breaking through $76 during the session, setting a new all-time high.
Other sectors that performed well include: AI (up 4.42% in 24 hours, Worldcoin (WLD) up 19.58%); RWA (up 2.16%, Centrifuge (CFG) up 11.21%); and Meme (up 1.26%, SPX6900 (SPX) up 16.72%).
In other sectors, the Layer 2 sector fell 0.13%, but Celestia (TIA) rose 9.74%; the Layer 1 sector fell 0.18%, while Cosmos Hub (ATOM) remained relatively strong, rising 3.43%; the PayFi sector fell 0.64%, while Stellar (XLM) bucked the trend, rising 4.88%; the CeFi sector fell 1.43%, while Aster (ASTER) surged 2.80% intraday; the NFT sector fell for the third consecutive day, with a 24-hour drop of 20.83%, and within the sector, Audiera (BEAT) fell 44.03%.
Crypto investors often face a choice between momentum and utility. One project may be attracting traders through strong price action, while another may be building products designed for long-term ecosystem growth.
That comparison is becoming increasingly relevant when looking at SPX6900 (SPX) and MemeToro ($MT).
SPX6900 has become one of the most talked-about meme assets of June 2026 thanks to strong exchange-driven momentum. MemeToro, meanwhile, is gaining attention through its AI-powered SocialFi ecosystem. Both projects continue attracting capital, but they appeal to very different types of investors.
SPX6900 Is Winning the Momentum Battle SPX6900 has enjoyed one of the strongest meme-driven rallies of recent weeks.
The project received a major boost after securing listings on Korean exchanges Upbit and Bithumb. The additional liquidity and visibility helped trigger a substantial increase in trading activity across the market.
Volume surged dramatically.
Trading activity spiked by as much as 795%, helping push SPX back onto trader watchlists. This renewed attention has supported bullish sentiment despite broader uncertainty across crypto markets.
The technical focus now centers around resistance.
SPX continues battling the important $0.34 area as traders attempt to convert that level into a stronger support zone.
For momentum investors, this remains one of the most important levels to watch.
Why Traders Continue Targeting Higher Levels The excitement surrounding SPX6900 is largely tied to momentum.
Unlike many legacy meme assets that continue losing market share, SPX has benefited from a fresh narrative and increased exchange accessibility. This combination has allowed the token to capture liquidity rotating out of slower-moving projects.
Several bullish scenarios remain active.
Some market participants continue targeting levels significantly above current prices if trading activity remains elevated and additional catalysts emerge.
However, the investment case still depends heavily on sentiment.
Like most meme-driven assets, SPX relies on community engagement, attention, and continued market participation.
That creates both opportunity and risk.
MemeToro Is Building Around Utility MemeToro approaches the market from a completely different angle.
Instead of relying primarily on trading momentum, the project is building a SocialFi ecosystem centered around artificial intelligence and active participation.
At the center of the platform sits the MemeToro AI Agent.
The system continuously scans social media conversations, cultural moments, market narratives, and global news developments to identify emerging opportunities before they become widely recognized.
This creates a functional intelligence layer rather than a purely speculative narrative. The goal is to help users engage with trends rather than simply react to them.
The MemeToro Ecosystem Explained The platform extends far beyond trend monitoring.
Users can create and launch memecoins through an automated no-code deployment process. Every bonded memecoin automatically lists on PancakeSwap and is supported by BNB liquidity infrastructure.
The native $MT token powers all ecosystem activity.
Participants gain access to a centralized crypto news portal, staking opportunities offering up to 35% APR, and peer-to-peer prediction markets where rewards can be earned in both $MT and BNB.
The ecosystem is designed around participation. Users can discover trends, launch tokens, earn rewards, and engage with prediction markets from within a single platform.
This broader utility framework distinguishes MemeToro from traditional meme-focused projects.
Momentum Versus Utility The comparison between SPX6900 and MemeToro ultimately comes down to investment style.
SPX6900 offers exposure to a high-momentum meme narrative supported by strong exchange activity and growing retail participation. Its performance depends heavily on sentiment, liquidity, and community engagement.
MemeToro offers exposure to a growing AI ecosystem.
Its value proposition centers around autonomous trend discovery, memecoin creation, staking, prediction markets, and SocialFi participation.
Both approaches have attracted attention throughout June. The difference lies in whether investors prefer short-term momentum or ecosystem-driven utility.

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), the DeFi project of US President Donald Trump and his family, which recently made headlines due to tensions with Tron (TRX) founder Justin Sun, is making new moves.
Accordingly, WLFI is very close to receiving approval to establish a bank in the United States.
According to NOTUS, WLFI is expected to soon receive approval to operate as a national trust bank amid concerns about potential conflicts of interest with the U.S. president.
According to the report, the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will soon announce its final decision on the bank license application. Two former OCC employees, who spoke to NOTUS on condition of anonymity, see approval as almost certain.
If the license is approved, WLFI will have a significant advantage in directly issuing its own stablecoin, USD1. At this point, the federal trust bank establishment permit will allow World Liberty to issue and repurchase bonds worth $1.
The company will also be able to manage reserves, provide cryptocurrency custody services, and offer payment and clearing services, all under a single federal regulatory framework.
Although approval was considered a certainty, World Liberty Financial’s application for a bank license was met with objections from senators and banking groups. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren asked the OCC to delay its review of the application due to conflicts of interest and national security concerns.
In this context, experts predict that OCC approval will further escalate political backlash against US President Donald Trump regarding potential conflicts of interest.
As you may recall, World Liberty Financial applied to the OCC earlier this year for a national trust bank license. This application followed the OCC’s conditional approval of several crypto companies, including Circle, Ripple, and BitGo.

A senior White House crypto advisor is trying to cut a deal in the CLARITY Act as Congress works on an ethics provision. If it remains intact, this clause could have a direct effect on President Donald Trump’s crypto business operations worth billions of dollars.
Patrick Witt Takes Center Stage In Negotiating CLARITY Act Ethics Provision White House’s top crypto policy official, Patrick Witt, has become a major player in negotiations about the CLARITY Act. For context, it is a comprehensive digital asset market structure bill that would create more defined rules for the crypto business.
The legislation has the support of a lot of Republicans, but Senate Democrats want to have restrictions via an ethics clause. It would essentially prevent federal officials, including members of Congress and the President, from creating, endorsing or sponsoring crypto assets.
The urgency ahead of the July 4 deadline has made him a seemingly unlikely dealmaker. He now has two targets to achieve. It includes finding Democratic votes for the bill while also steering clear of the language that could pose a danger to Trump and the crypto business of his family.
The Trump family has been making a major move into the digital asset industry with ventures such as World Liberty Financial. Moreover, the President’s TRUMP meme coin had also gained traction recently.
However, criticism of those ventures has continued. Still, the White House is now openly supporting Witt and its crypto agenda.
White House spokesperson Kush Desai said, “Cementing America’s innovative dominance is a key priority for President Trump, and the Administration has assembled some of the best and brightest minds to help with this effort.”
Desai added, “That includes Patrick Witt, who has been an immense asset for the White House on the Clarity Act, which continues to be held up by Democrats who are more interested in playing political games than supporting American technology.”
What Do Senators Have To Say? Still, some lawmakers remain unconvinced that Witt has the authority to strike a final agreement.
“I don’t think he has any authority to make a deal,” Senator John Kennedy said. He added, “I think the only person who can make that deal is President Trump.”
Democrats involved in the talks are also proceeding cautiously, per POLITICO report.
“There’s still a big question about whether, even if we got to agreement with Patrick Witt — and we’re still some distance from that — whether that could simply be shot down by the White House,” Senator Adam Schiff said.
Meanwhile, Senator Mike Rounds acknowledged the challenge facing the administration’s negotiator.
“Any time you’re talking about the Democrats negotiating with the president, whoever the negotiator is — they’ve got their work cut out for them,” Rounds noted.
Meanwhile, Senator Cynthia Lummis described Witt as a crucial link between Capitol Hill and the White House. Also, with Witt staying optimistic on a July 4 approval for the CLARITY Act, his last-minute efforts suggest growing urgency.
She said Witt “stays in constant contact with senior staff at the White House, explaining to them what the sideboards are of the discussions.”
“Of course he will not have the absolute final say on final language. That’s going to have to go directly to the president,” Lummis added. She further stated, “But to the extent that someone has, within a defined space, room to negotiate, is what gives him the opportunity to explore the way to thread the needle.”
A group of US Senate Democrats is urging Senate Republican leaders to hold hearings into a reported $500 million deal between the Trump family’s crypto firm and Abu Dhabi royalty.
In a letter on Tuesday, the Democrats told Republicans, who control the Senate, lead its committees and decide on hearings, that they should “immediately hold hearings” into the deal and have Trump administration officials testify about it under oath.
The Wall Street Journal reported in January that an Abu Dhabi investment company backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates’ national security adviser, signed a deal in January 2025 to buy a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial, the crypto platform tied to US President Donald Trump.
Months later, in May 2025, the Trump administration made a major arms and artificial intelligence chip deal with the UAE, which the Democratic senators said came “despite concerns raised by US national security officials that China could access the chips.” Trump has said he wasn’t aware of the World Liberty deal.
The letter is the Democrats' latest bid to probe World Liberty Financial’s dealings and its possible ties to decisions the president has made. Both Trump critics and supporters have criticized the perceived conflict of interest posed by the Trump family’s sprawling crypto interests amid Trump’s push to deregulate the sector.

“We are deeply concerned about this series of events, which raise questions about what more the UAE may receive — or may have already received — at the expense of US national security after investing in the Trump family crypto company,” the Democrats wrote.
“Congress has a responsibility to investigate the details of the reported investment and whether it influenced subsequent actions by President Trump and the Trump Administration,” they added.
The senators said that they’re also concerned about the Trump administration’s “steps to weaken enforcement” by exempting crypto service providers from financial services regulations and disbanding the Justice Department’s crypto enforcement team.
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Dick Durbin and Ron Wyden signed the letter.
Warren has called for an investigation into the UAE deal before, urging Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in February to determine if the deal should be subject to a Committee on Foreign Investment probe.
Earlier this year, Democrats pressed Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins over the decision to drop a fraud case against Justin Sun, a major World Liberty Financial backer.
In May, Democratic Senator Peter Welch and Representative Dave Min launched a probe into Trump’s pardons, including that of Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao.
The pardon came after Binance accepted a $2 billion investment from an Abu Dhabi fund in early 2025 and agreed for the funds to be paid in World Liberty Financial’s stablecoin, USD1.

Five senior Senate Democrats sent a formal letter to Republican committee chairs demanding immediate hearings into a $500 million deal in which Abu Dhabi royalty acquired a stake in World Liberty Financial before Trump's inauguration, and into the arms sales and AI chip approvals that followed.
Five senior Senate Democrats sent a formal letter to Republican committee chairs Tuesday demanding immediate hearings into a reported $500 million transaction in which Abu Dhabi royalty acquired a stake in World Liberty Financial, the crypto firm tied to President Donald Trump, and into the federal policy decisions that followed.
The letter states that lieutenants to Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's national security adviser, secretly purchased a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial four days before Trump's January 2025 inauguration, with $218 million paid upfront to entities tied to the families of the president and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff. The senators call the arrangement "unprecedented in American politics: a foreign government official taking a major ownership stake in an incoming U.S. president's company."
What the Senators Are AskingSenators Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Dick Durbin, and Ron Wyden told Republican committee chairs to "immediately hold hearings" and compel Trump administration officials to testify under oath about what they knew and when.
The lawmakers listed the events they say need scrutiny. Within months of the WLFI stake purchase, the Trump administration approved $1.4 billion in arms sales to the UAE, authorized the sale of 35,000 advanced AI chips to UAE firm G42 despite national security objections, and disbanded the Justice Department's National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team. UAE-backed MGX also acquired a stake in TikTok, despite Trump's stated preference for American ownership.
"We are deeply concerned about this series of events, which raise questions about what more the UAE may receive, or may have already received, at the expense of US national security after investing in the Trump family crypto company," the senators wrote.
"Trump Administration officials must explain under oath what they knew and when about payments to the families of the President and his lead diplomat for the region," they added.
Escalating Congressional ScrutinyTuesday's letter extends a pattern of Democratic pressure targeting World Liberty Financial's foreign entanglements. Warren urged Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in February to determine whether the Abu Dhabi stake qualified for a Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States review. Earlier this year, a separate Democratic group pressed Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins over the agency's decision to drop a fraud case against Justin Sun, a major World Liberty Financial backer.
The senate inquiry also follows the Binance thread. In early 2025, UAE-backed MGX invested $2 billion in Binance, with the funds to be paid in World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin. Democratic Senators Peter Welch and Representative Dave Min subsequently launched a probe into Trump's pardon of Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao.
The Abu Dhabi stake in World Liberty Financial was first reported by the Wall Street Journal in early 2026. Trump has said he was not aware of the deal at the time it was signed.
Republicans Hold the GavelWhether hearings happen rests with the Republican chairs addressed in the letter. Republicans control the Senate and its committee agendas, so the Democrats' request is not a scheduling order. The senators addressed chairs of the Banking, Homeland Security, Judiciary, and Finance committees.
The Democrats framed their demand in terms of Congress's oversight function. "Congress has a responsibility to investigate the details of the reported investment and whether it influenced subsequent actions by President Trump and the Trump Administration," they wrote.
World Liberty Financial's USD1, the stablecoin at the center of several Abu Dhabi transactions, reached $4.85 billion in circulating supply as of June 22 after a 9.7% weekly expansion, a rapid climb that is now drawing parallel scrutiny from the senators pressing for hearings.
A group of Democratic senators has called for an urgent Senate hearing regarding a reported $500 million deal between World Liberty Financial, a crypto platform linked to the Trump family, and investment groups based in Abu Dhabi. In a letter sent to Republican leaders who oversee Senate committees, the senators insisted that former Trump administration officials testify under oath about the arrangement.
Scope and timing of the controversial dealAccording to news published by the Wall Street Journal in January, an Abu Dhabi-based investment firm backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, national security adviser of the United Arab Emirates, agreed in January 2025 to purchase a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial. The platform has gained attention for its close ties to former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Background note: World Liberty Financial is frequently described as a crypto initiative associated with the Trump family. A stablecoin, meanwhile, is a type of digital asset designed to track the value of traditional currencies like the U.S. dollar.
The Democratic senators pointed out that months after this crypto agreement, the Trump administration signed a major weapons and artificial intelligence chip deal with the United Arab Emirates. The lawmakers stressed in their letter that this move was made despite American national security officials expressing concern that these chips could reach China. Trump, for his part, previously denied any knowledge of the World Liberty deal.
The senators emphasized Congress’s responsibility to investigate the reported investment and whether it influenced President Trump or subsequent decisions by his administration.
Democrats raise national security alarmsIn their letter, the senators questioned what additional advantages the United Arab Emirates might have gained after investing in the Trump family’s crypto company, potentially at the expense of U.S. national security. The letter is the latest attempt to scrutinize possible ties between World Liberty Financial’s operations and presidential decision-making.
As Trump continues to advocate for more relaxed crypto regulation, both supporters and critics have voiced concerns that the Trump family’s expanding interests in crypto create the appearance of serious conflicts of interest. Democrats also highlighted their unease over moves by the administration to exempt crypto service providers from certain financial rules, as well as the Justice Department’s disbanding of its crypto enforcement team.
Follow-up actions and new formal requestsElizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Dick Durbin, and Ron Wyden all signed the letter. Earlier, Warren had urged Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to ensure the Committee on Foreign Investment reviews the Emirates-linked deal. Scott Bessent currently serves as the U.S. Treasury Secretary.
This year, Democrats have also pressed SEC Chairman Paul Atkins over the dismissal of a fraud case against World Liberty Financial backer Justin Sun. In May, Senator Peter Welch and Representative Dave Min initiated a congressional review of Trump’s use of pardons, including a case involving Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao.
Notably, that pardon was issued after Binance accepted a $2 billion investment from an Abu Dhabi-based fund in early 2025. Reports indicate that the payment was arranged using World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin. This detail has become central to Democratic arguments about a wider web of overlapping interests detailed in the senators’ letter.

A group of Senate Democrats, including Elizabeth Warren, Chris Murphy, Andy Kim, and Jeff Merkley, are pressing Republican leadership to hold formal hearings into a reported $500 million deal between Trump-linked crypto platform World Liberty Financial and investors tied to Abu Dhabi royalty.
The Deal at the Center of the Dispute The Wall Street Journal reported that an Abu Dhabi investment vehicle backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan secretly acquired a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial, the DeFi and stablecoin project that lists President Trump and his three sons as advisors, in an agreement signed by Eric Trump four days before his father's January 2025 presidential inauguration. Half of that $500 million stake was paid upfront, with $187 million going to Trump family-controlled entities and at least $31 million going to entities affiliated with the family of Steve Witkoff, the real estate mogul who co-founded World Liberty and was later named U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East.
Witkoff's son Zach is the current CEO of World Liberty. Ethics experts said the concept of a foreign government official secretly directing hundreds of millions of dollars to a company owned in part by the president has no known precedent and raises a host of ethical and national security concerns.
Lawmakers Push for Testimony Under Oath In a letter, the Democratic senators pressed Republican leadership to immediately hold hearings on President Donald Trump's purported ties to Abu Dhabi via his crypto company World Liberty Financial. Republicans currently control both the House and Senate, giving them sole authority to decide whether such hearings will take place.
The senators noted that within months of the deal, the Trump administration approved $1.4 billion in arms sales to the UAE, authorized the sale of 35,000 advanced AI chips to the UAE's G42 firm despite national security concerns, and took steps to loosen cryptocurrency regulations, including disbanding the Justice Department's National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team.
"Trump Administration officials must explain under oath what they knew and when about payments to the families of the President and his lead diplomat for the region," the lawmakers concluded.
Trump has said he was not aware of the $500 million investment and that he is not directly involved in World Liberty Financial's day-to-day operations. A spokesperson for World Liberty Financial insisted that "neither President Trump nor Steve Witkoff had any involvement whatsoever in this transaction" and that "any claim that this deal had anything to do with the Administration's actions on chips is 100% false."
Trump and his family have reportedly earned more than $1 billion from crypto-related ventures, including World Liberty Financial, which is also seeking a federal banking charter. Several Democratic lawmakers have said they will not support the bill unless it includes ethics provisions to address potential conflicts of interest.

Democratic senators have called on Senate Republicans to open hearings into a reported $500 million investment in World Liberty Financial by an Abu Dhabi-backed entity and examine whether the transaction influenced decisions made by the Trump administration.
Summary
Senate Democrats have urged Republican leaders to hold hearings into a reported $500 million UAE linked investment in World Liberty Financial and require Trump administration officials to testify. Lawmakers questioned whether the investment influenced later U.S. policy decisions involving arms sales and AI chip access for the United Arab Emirates. The latest request adds to months of scrutiny over World Liberty Financial, including probes into foreign ownership, regulatory filings, and the company’s federal bank charter application. A letter sent Tuesday by Democratic senators urged Republican leaders, who control Senate committees and hearing schedules, to immediately convene hearings and require Trump administration officials to testify under oath about the investment and its aftermath.
The lawmakers cited reporting by The Wall Street Journal that Aryam Investment 1, an Abu Dhabi-based company backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates’ national security adviser, acquired a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial through an agreement signed in January 2025.
The senators wrote that they were concerned by events that followed the investment, including a May 2025 agreement under which the Trump administration approved major arms sales and access to advanced artificial intelligence chips for the UAE.
The letter noted that some U.S. national security officials had previously expressed concerns that China could gain access to the technology.
“We are deeply concerned about this series of events, which raise questions about what more the UAE may receive — or may have already received — at the expense of U.S. national security after investing in the Trump family crypto company,” the lawmakers wrote.
They added that Congress has a responsibility to determine whether the investment affected decisions taken by President Donald Trump or his administration.
Long-running scrutiny of World Liberty Financial The latest request builds on months of congressional scrutiny surrounding World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture launched with support from Trump and members of his family before the 2024 election.
In February, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Andy Kim asked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to determine whether the reported UAE investment should undergo review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. Their letter questioned whether federal authorities had been notified of the transaction and whether the deal received a formal national security assessment.
Warren later challenged Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould during a Senate Banking Committee hearing over a reported application by World Liberty for a federal bank charter. She asked whether the company had disclosed the foreign investor’s stake in filings submitted to regulators. Gould declined to discuss the contents of any pending application and said the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency would follow established procedures.
The dispute continued in June after NOTUS reported that World Liberty’s application for a federal trust bank charter was expected to receive approval. Former OCC officials told the outlet that approval appeared likely. If granted, the charter would allow the company to issue and redeem its USD1 stablecoin, manage reserves, provide digital asset custody, and operate under a single federal regulator.
Public disclosures in later reporting showed that 75% of proceeds from WLFI token sales are directed to DT Marks DEFI LLC, an entity controlled by Trump. Reuters also reported in June that the Trump family had earned more than $2.3 billion from four crypto ventures since the start of Trump’s second term, with World Liberty generating the largest share.
Additional concerns over crypto oversight The senators’ latest letter also criticized actions taken by the administration toward crypto enforcement and regulation.
The lawmakers said they were concerned by efforts to exempt certain crypto service providers from financial regulations and by the Justice Department’s decision to dismantle its cryptocurrency enforcement team.
Congressional Democrats have also questioned other World Liberty-related developments this year. Earlier in 2026, lawmakers pressed Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins about the agency’s decision to drop a fraud case against Justin Sun, a major backer of World Liberty Financial.
In May, Senator Peter Welch and Representative Dave Min opened an inquiry into several presidential pardons, including one granted to Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao. The inquiry followed a $2 billion investment in Binance from an Abu Dhabi fund and an agreement to receive the funds through World Liberty’s USD1 stablecoin.
Trump has repeatedly denied involvement in World Liberty’s day-to-day operations. Speaking to reporters in February, he said he was unaware of the reported UAE investment and stated that his sons manage the business. The White House has also rejected allegations of conflicts of interest, stating that Trump’s assets are held in a trust administered by his children and that administration decisions are made independently of family business activities.
The letter was signed by Senators Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Dick Durbin, and Ron Wyden.
President Donald Trump (Jesse Hamilton/CoinDesk)Summary
Senate Democrats are demanding immediate hearings into a $500 million investment by UAE officials in Donald Trump’s family crypto venture, World Liberty Financial, and whether it influenced subsequent U.S. policy toward the Gulf state. The senators say the deal, which gave UAE-linked investors a 49% stake and included $218 million in upfront payments to entities tied to the Trump family and a top Middle East diplomat, represents an unprecedented foreign government influence. Citing a series of Trump administration decisions that benefited the UAE, the lawmakers are seeking sworn testimony on potential conflicts of interest and foreign influence.Senate Democrats called for immediate hearings into UAE officials' huge investments in President Donald Trump's family crypto venture, World Liberty Financial, and subsequent decisions by the Trump administration that seemingly favored the Gulf country, in a letter dated June 23.
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Richard Durbin, and Ron Wyden requested that multiple Senate committees hold hearings on a deal in which lieutenants to an Abu Dhabi royal signed a deal with the Trump family to purchase a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial for half a billion dollars.
The deal closed four days before President Trump's inauguration last year, the letter said, adding that as part of the agreement, foreign buyers reportedly paid $218 million upfront to entities tied to the Trump family and Steve Witkoff, President Trump's lead diplomat for the Middle East and Russia.
The arrangement was reportedly backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's National Security Advisor. This "marked something unprecedented in American politics: a foreign government official taking a major ownership stake in an incoming U.S. president's company," according to the letter.
CoinDesk reached out to both WLFI and the UAE government for a comment on the matter.
The investment bolsters concerns about foreign influence, originally stemming from a major investment by MGX, a UAE state-backed investment company, that boosted the market capitalization of the Trump family's stablecoin by almost $2 billion overnight.
Here's where it gets interesting. Within months of the deal, the Trump Administration took policy decisions that benefited the UAE, according to the letter. In May 2025, it approved a $1.4 billion arms sale to the country, despite congressional concerns about weapons flowing to armed groups in Sudan where more than 150,000 people have died.
In the same month, Treasury created a "Known Investor Pilot" program to streamline investment approvals through CFIUS, a fast-track process that the UAE had lobbied for.
The Department of Commerce also rescinded Biden-era chip export restrictions, allowing the UAE to receive up to triple or quadruple the number of advanced chips it previously could have imported. It authorized G42, a UAE AI company chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to receive 35,000 Nvidia Blackwell chips. The deal was worth over a billion dollars.
But U.S. intelligence officials reportedly caught G42 providing U.S. technology that was used to enhance China's missile capabilities. Though G42 allegedly committed to divesting its Chinese holdings, reports suggest the firm attempted to obfuscate its ties to Beijing by moving its business holdings in China to a new investment firm.
The senators demanded that Trump Administration officials "explain under oath what they knew and when about payments to the families of the President and his lead diplomat for the region."
"They must also explain how they will restore faith that the Administration is representing the best interests of the American people rather than the personal interests of the President and his close associates. We therefore ask that you immediately hold hearings on these urgent matters," the letter said.
Key Points Democratic senators have formally requested Republican leadership to initiate hearings regarding a reported $500 million transaction involving Trump’s cryptocurrency company and Abu Dhabi investors Before President Trump took office, an investment entity from Abu Dhabi, supported by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, secured a 49% ownership position in World Liberty Financial Following this investment, the Trump administration approved UAE access to numerous AI chips, overriding national security objections President Trump maintains he had no knowledge of the investment and does not participate in World Liberty’s operations The scandal is now jeopardizing passage of significant cryptocurrency regulation legislation in Congress At the heart of the dispute is World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance and stablecoin operation that names President Trump alongside his three sons in advisory capacities.

According to reporting by The Wall Street Journal, an investment entity from Abu Dhabi with backing from Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan—who serves as the UAE’s national security adviser—discreetly obtained a 49% ownership stake in the venture. Eric Trump signed the agreement merely four days prior to his father assuming the presidency in January 2025.
The investment package totaled $500 million. Half of this amount was disbursed immediately, with $187 million directed to entities under Trump family control and no less than $31 million flowing to entities associated with the Witkoff family. Steve Witkoff, who co-established World Liberty, subsequently received an appointment as US Special Envoy to the Middle East.
Lawmakers Demand Investigation This Tuesday, several Democratic senators submitted an official letter to the Republican Senate leadership requesting “immediate hearings” regarding the transaction. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Gary Peters, Ron Wyden, Richard Durbin, and Richard Blumenthal affixed their signatures to the document.
The senators argued that Congress bears an obligation to examine whether the UAE’s financial commitment swayed policy choices made by the Trump administration. With Republicans maintaining control of both the Senate and its committees, they possess sole authority over whether such hearings proceed.
Security Implications Raised The Democratic lawmakers highlighted concerns regarding an arrangement finalized months following the Sheikh’s investment. The Trump administration unveiled a framework granting the UAE access to thousands of AI chips, disregarding cautions from US national security officials about potential Chinese access to this technology.
President Trump has stated he possessed no awareness of the $500 million transaction and maintains no involvement in World Liberty’s operational matters.
The senators additionally pointed to actions undertaken by the administration to relax requirements for cryptocurrency companies, including exempting crypto service providers from specific financial regulations and dissolving the Justice Department’s cryptocurrency enforcement division.
Earlier this year, Senator Warren called upon Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to evaluate whether the Abu Dhabi investment necessitated a national security assessment. Democratic Representative Ro Khanna initiated a separate House inquiry into the transaction.
Democrats have also previously questioned the SEC’s choice to abandon a fraud investigation against Justin Sun, a significant World Liberty Financial supporter.
In May, Senator Peter Welch and Representative Dave Min initiated an examination into presidential pardons, including one issued to Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao. This pardon followed Binance’s acceptance of a $2 billion investment from an Abu Dhabi fund, with payment arrangements stipulating use of World Liberty Financial’s stablecoin, USD1.
Reports indicate the Trump family has generated over $1 billion from cryptocurrency-related enterprises. World Liberty Financial is additionally pursuing a federal banking charter.
The controversy has now created uncertainty around the Clarity Act, a proposed federal cryptocurrency regulation framework. Multiple Democratic legislators have indicated they will withhold support unless ethics clauses are incorporated to address potential conflicts of interest connected to Trump’s cryptocurrency investments.
TLDR: Five Senate Democrats are demanding immediate hearings into World Liberty Financial’s $500M UAE investment deal. Abu Dhabi investors reportedly acquired a 49% stake in the Trump-linked crypto firm before inauguration day. The Trump administration approved arms sales and AI chip deals with the UAE months after the reported investment. Democrats also flagged the DOJ’s disbanding of its crypto enforcement team amid broader regulatory rollbacks. Senate Democrats are pressing Republican leaders to hold hearings into World Liberty Financial, the crypto platform tied to President Donald Trump. A letter signed by five senior Democratic senators calls for Trump administration officials to testify under oath.
The request centers on a reported $500 million deal between the Trump-linked firm and Abu Dhabi investors, and whether that arrangement shaped subsequent US policy decisions favoring the UAE.
The Reported Deal and Its Political Context Four days before Trump’s inauguration, lieutenants to an Abu Dhabi royal reportedly purchased a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial.
The deal was valued at approximately $500 million, with $218 million paid upfront to entities tied to the Trump and Witkoff families. Steve Witkoff serves as Trump’s Middle East envoy, making his family’s involvement a point of contention.
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Dick Durbin, and Ron Wyden signed the letter. They addressed it to Republican chairs of their respective Senate committees, urging immediate action. Republicans control the Senate and its committees, so they hold the authority to approve or reject hearings.
The lawmakers described the arrangement as “something unprecedented in American politics,” noting that a foreign government official taking a major ownership stake in an incoming US president’s company had no prior parallel.
The letter stated that “Congress has a responsibility to investigate the details of the reported investment and whether it influenced subsequent actions by President Trump and the Trump Administration.”
Trump has publicly stated he was unaware of the World Liberty Financial deal. Democrats, however, argue that congressional oversight cannot rest on that claim alone and that sworn testimony is required.
The senators called on Trump administration officials to “explain under oath what they knew and when about payments to the families of the President and his lead diplomat for the region.”
Policy Decisions Under Scrutiny Within months of the reported investment, the Trump administration approved $1.4 billion in arms sales to the UAE.
It also authorized the sale of 35,000 advanced AI chips to the UAE’s G42 firm, despite concerns raised by national security officials about potential Chinese access.
Democrats argue those decisions followed the financial arrangement in a troubling sequence. The senators wrote that they were “deeply concerned about this series of events, which raise questions about what more the UAE may receive — or may have already received — at the expense of US national security after investing in the Trump family crypto company.”
The letter also points to crypto regulatory rollbacks that occurred during the same period. The Justice Department disbanded its National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team, and crypto service providers received exemptions from certain financial regulations.
Senators argued officials must “explain how they will restore faith that the Administration is representing the best interests of the American people.”
Additional scrutiny has emerged over a UAE-backed fund’s $2 billion investment in Binance, paid partly through World Liberty Financial’s stablecoin, USD1.
That deal coincided with a presidential pardon granted to Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, which Democratic Senator Peter Welch and Representative Dave Min launched a separate probe into in May.
President Donald Trump’s crypto business is facing scrutiny in Washington after Senate Democrats demanded hearings into a reported $500 million investment from Abu Dhabi-linked entities into World Liberty Financial.
Lawmakers say the deal raises serious questions about foreign influence, national security, and whether subsequent U.S. policy decisions benefited the UAE.
Senators Want Trump Officials to Testify Under OathIn a June 23 letter, five Democratic senators, Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal, Gary Peters, Richard Durbin, and Ron Wyden, urged Republican leaders to immediately hold hearings into World Liberty Financial (WLF), the crypto venture that lists Trump and his sons as advisers.
The lawmakers are focusing on a reported deal in which an Abu Dhabi investment vehicle backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s national security adviser, acquired a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial for $500 million.
According to reports cited by the senators, the agreement was signed by Eric Trump just four days before Trump’s January 2025 inauguration.
Roughly $218 million was reportedly paid upfront to entities linked to the Trump family and Steve Witkoff, Trump’s current Middle East envoy.
The senators called the arrangement unprecedented, stating that it involved a senior foreign government official taking a major ownership stake in a company connected to an incoming U.S. president.
Therefore, senators want administration officials to explain what they knew about the investment, when they knew it, and whether any government decisions were influenced by payments connected to the Trump family or Steve Witkoff.
The lawmakers specifically called for officials to testify under oath.
Did the Trump Administration’s Decisions Favour the UAEThe controversy is not only about the investment itself. Democrats argue that several Trump administration decisions later appeared to benefit the UAE.
Among them was a $1.4 billion arms sale, a fast-track foreign investment approval program, and the removal of certain AI chip export restrictions.
One decision reportedly allowed UAE-based AI firm G42 to access 35,000 Nvidia Blackwell chips, a deal worth more than $1 billion.
Lawmakers now want administration officials to explain whether any connection existed between the investment and subsequent policy decisions.
The timing could not be worse for the crypto industry. Congress is currently debating the CLARITY Act.
Congress is simultaneously advancing the CLARITY Act, with the House Financial Services Committee set to hold a hearing on the bill in New York on July 17.
Meanwhile, Democrats have already warned that they may oppose the bill unless lawmakers address potential conflicts of interest involving elected officials and crypto businesses.
Trump and his family have reportedly generated more than $1 billion from crypto-related ventures, making the debate increasingly difficult to separate from broader crypto policy discussions.
