Ondas získal objednávky v hodnotě přes 270 milionů USD
ONDS Ondas Holdings
FMP Stock News 92
Original source text
Ondas Inc. (NASDAQ:ONDS) is expanding its autonomous defense and security business through rising orders, acquisitions and broader customer adoption, while analysts point to the company’s exposure to several growing defense markets.

• Ondas shares are experiencing downward pressure. What’s pulling ONDS shares down?

The company designs, develops, manufactures, sells and supports FullMAX software-defined radio (SDR) technology across the U.S., Israel and India. It operates through two segments — Ondas Networks and Ondas Autonomous Systems — giving it exposure to both communications infrastructure and autonomous systems use cases.

The stock slid almost 30% in 2026 due to widening financial losses and shareholder dilution from acquisitions, despite strong top-line revenue growth.

On Wednesday, Ondas announced that it had secured more than $165 million in orders from the second half of August through Oct. 1. Combined with roughly $105 million announced earlier in the third quarter, orders since June 30 exceeded $270 million.

The company said the new business expanded its backlog and strengthened revenue visibility into 2027.

Orders came from multiple regions and product categories, reflecting demand across Ondas’ autonomous defense and security portfolio.

$56 Million European Order Expands Precision Strike BusinessOndas also secured a $56 million European defense order for Electronic Safe & Arm Devices tied to a loitering munition program this week.

The contract marks Ondas’ first major defense order since acquiring GATE Technologies and Bron Technologies and expands its Precision Strike business.

The company is also pursuing additional opportunities across NATO and allied defense markets.

Ondas separately reported progress with ULTRA, a candidate for a U.S. Department of Defense program of record, and its IonStrike "Shahed Killer."

"Importantly, both ULTRA and IonStrike have captured strategically significant orders and are advancing through key customer validation milestones, which we believe can open substantially larger markets," CEO Eric Brock said.

Citizens Turns Bullish On OndasOn Oct. 5, Citizens initiated coverage of Ondas with an Outperform rating, describing the company as a diversified autonomous-systems platform positioned for growth.

The firm said Ondas participates in four high-growth submarkets within the broader autonomous-systems industry.

Ondas Targets a Broader Defense OpportunityOndas is expanding its manufacturing capacity, engineering capabilities and customer relationships as it targets more areas of autonomous defense.

The company sees opportunities across counter-drone systems, loitering munitions, surveillance, ground robotics, electronic warfare, AI-enabled command systems and infrastructure monitoring.

Ondas believes rising global defense spending and wider adoption of autonomous technologies are creating a multi-billion-dollar opportunity across defense, security and industrial markets.

Top ETF Exposure Defiance Drone and Modern Warfare ETF (NYSE:JEDI): 6.43% Weight REX Drone ETF (NASDAQ:DRNZ): 11.77% Weight Significance: Because Ondas carries such a heavy weight in these funds, any significant inflows or outflows for these ETFs will likely trigger automatic buying or selling of the stock.

ONDS Price ActionOndas shares were down 2.12% at $6.81 at publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

ZETA Zeta Global Holdings

SummaryZETA's stock price has jumped by roughly 67% in just 1 year. But I believe that ZETA's ride is far from over. ZETA's 44% top-line growth, 170 bps EBITDA margin expansion to 20%, and 17% ARPU growth underscore accelerating financial momentum. Despite a 35x forward P/E, I believe ZETA can grow into and potentially outpace its valuation, supported by strategic M&A and platform adoption. I expect double-digit total return with ZETA, so I've just bought some shares. mikkelwilliam/E+ via Getty Images

I invest a lot in technology. I mean, I've owned Microsoft (MSFT) for years now. I bought Nvidia (NVDA) in 2022. And I'm looking at over 1000% return with my Micron Technology (

Tesla vykázala záporný volný peněžní tok ve výši 1,09 mld. USD
TSLA Tesla
FMP Stock News 90
Original source text
Tesla is spending at a pace it has never attempted before, and earnings are falling while the bills pile up. Two specific conditions have to be met before this stock becomes a conviction buy, and right now neither one has…

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA | TSLA Price Prediction) trades at $375. Two developments would change the picture: free cash flow turns positive again, and Robotaxi starts producing revenue at scale. Tesla is now spending at a pace it has never tried before, and its earnings are falling while the spending ramps.

Tesla sells electric vehicles, grid batteries and Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. It is also building Robotaxi, Cybercab and the Optimus robot. Last quarter, revenue rose 25.52% to $28.24 billion and beat estimates. EPS of $0.33 missed expectations of $0.5367, and free cash flow fell to negative $1.09 billion.

Record Deliveries and a Cash Pile Power the Bull Case Demand is healthy. Deliveries hit a record 480,126, and Tesla ended the quarter with “our largest order backlog since 2023.” FSD subscriptions climbed 56% to 1.48 million. Services margin reached an all-time high of 14.1%, and energy storage deployments rose 41%.

Robotaxi now runs in seven U.S. metros. It has logged more than 380,000 miles of unsupervised driving with “zero notable incidents,” according to management. Tesla also holds $43.52 billion in cash. A forward P/E of 159, compared with a trailing P/E of 350, shows that analysts expect earnings to grow sharply.

A $25 Billion Spending Wave Is Squeezing Earnings Operating margin fell to 1.4% as operating expenses jumped 47%. Management expects capital spending this year to top $25 billion and to keep rising for two or three years. Tesla is also arranging debt facilities that would let it borrow up to $30 billion. Automotive gross margin excluding credits slipped to 16.3% from 19.2% the quarter before.

Some skeptics argue the stock is worth far less. Investor George Noble said “the cyber taxi thing is completely overcooked” and put his sum-of-the-parts value at $30 to $60 a share. Management expects the early Optimus ramp to be “quite flat and long.”

Robotaxi Miles Are Piling Up While Revenue Proof Lags The core business is working. Deliveries, FSD and services all grew. No one has yet shown how Robotaxi miles become profit. Management says unsupervised miles are growing more than 10% a week. Over the next two to four quarters, investors should watch for fleet revenue disclosures and signs that capital spending is paying for itself.

Down 16.61% This Year While the S&P 500 Gained 13.5% Tesla is down 16.61% year to date, while the S&P 500 is up 13.5%. Over one year, the stock is down 14.52%, while the index has gained 14.98%. The stock sits under its 200-day average of $392.19.

The consensus target of $392.42 implies upside. Here is how 43 analysts rate the stock:

Strong Buy: 4 Buy: 15 Hold: 20 Sell: 2 Strong Sell: 2 Cash Flow and Robotaxi Revenue Are the Two Tests That Matter Next At $375, Tesla faces two tests.

Free cash flow must turn positive and stay there for consecutive quarters, even with capital spending above $25 billion. If operating margin climbs from 1.4%, the spending is paying off.

Robotaxi must report real fleet revenue, with Cybercab moving from pilot builds to volume production. Unsupervised miles prove the technology works; revenue proves the business model works.

A Robotaxi breakthrough could lift the stock quickly. The valuation also carries risk: Tesla still trades at 350 times trailing earnings while its cash flow is negative (riding a story stock at that multiple is fine as long as you plan the exit, something our free bubble survivor’s handbook walks through in detail). If both conditions are met, the investment case strengthens. If cash burn grows with no fleet revenue, it weakens.

The vision is fully priced in, and the proof has not arrived yet.

Tesla v Evropě přejmenovala funkci Full Self-Driving
TSLA Tesla
FMP Stock News 95
Original source text
SummaryCompaniesTesla rebrands FSD as 'Tesla Assisted Driving' on European websitesGermany said Tuesday Tesla offered the name changeRegulators have called the 'Full Self-Driving' name misleadingOct 9 (Reuters) - EV-maker Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab has started calling its "Full Self-Driving" feature "Tesla Assisted Driving" on its European websites, dropping a name ‌regulators have said was misleading, as CEO Elon Musk pushes for EU-wide approval for the software.

The rebrand comes after Germany said on Tuesday Tesla had offered to switch to the new name. Musk has described the self-driving technology as key to the company's future growth.

Sign up here.

Tesla's FSD page for Slovakia now redirects to a "Tesla Assisted Driving" page, as do pages in other European countries such as Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. The US site still refers to it as "Full Self-Driving (Supervised)."

A Reuters report published this week detailed how Tesla mounted a campaign to win approval for FSD in Europe, including encouraging owners and supporters to lobby national regulators for faster approvals.

In September, a Norwegian Tesla owner asked the Norwegian Public Roads Administration whether Tesla's changes to how it described FSD addressed concerns about the name, according to documents Reuters obtained through freedom-of-information requests.

"Please do not simply say again that 'we are waiting for the EU' ‌without explaining what Tesla or Norway must deliver in the meantime," the owner said.

Several regulators have said the old name is misleading because the system requires constant supervision and drivers remain legally responsible.

In Sweden, consumer protection authorities had earlier asked the Swedish Transport Agency to assess whether the marketing of FSD could give buyers the false impression the system was capable of fully autonomous driving.

In Italy, authorities had said in internal government correspondence that the name "Full Self-Driving", together with Tesla's promotional material, "could lead users to believe that the vehicle is equipped with unsupervised automatic driving functions attributable to higher levels of automation, particularly SAE Level 3", in communication seen by Reuters through freedom-of-information requests.

Eight EU countries already allow the system, with Slovakia expecting to become the ninth within days.

An EU-wide vote has been pushed from October to at least December, with countries like France conducting additional testing.

Tesla hlásí 2,5 milionu placených mil v Robotaxi

FMP Stock News 88

Tesla Inc‘s (NASDAQ:TSLA) next valuation test may have less to do with how many electric vehicles it sells and more to do with how much money it can make from the cars already on the road.

Yorkville Ives analyst Dan Ives sees autonomy and robotics reshaping Tesla’s future, but turning that vision into recurring revenue is what could determine whether his $500 price target holds up.

The $500 Case Goes Beyond EVsIn his latest research note, Ives maintains an Outperform rating and a $500 price target, arguing that Tesla is evolving into a "physical AI" platform spanning vehicles, autonomous driving, humanoid robots and energy storage. He says investors who value Tesla primarily as an automaker risk overlooking the software and services that could eventually generate revenue on top of its existing vehicle business.

The foundation is Tesla’s fleet of millions of vehicles, which generates real-world driving data to train its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. Unlike companies building autonomous technology without a comparable installed vehicle base, Tesla can connect data collection, software development and vehicle manufacturing within one ecosystem.

But the opportunity depends on monetization, not just technology. As Tesla’s latest shareholder update shows, FSD adoption is growing, with more than 55% of new North American deliveries including FSD subscriptions in the reported quarter. That creates a software revenue stream today while building the technical foundation for a larger autonomous-driving business.

Robotaxi Is the Real TestIves sees Robotaxi as the bridge between Tesla’s current automotive business and its potential autonomy-driven future. Tesla reported about 2.5 million cumulative paid Robotaxi miles in its latest quarterly update, while expanding operations and preparing to deploy its purpose-built Cybercab.

The distinction between paid miles and a profitable business remains important. More rides can demonstrate demand and help Tesla gather driving data, but investors still need evidence of fleet utilization, operating costs and revenue per vehicle. Scaling unsupervised operations across more cities would also require regulatory progress and consistent safety performance.

Cybercab could improve the economics by removing conventional driving controls and designing the vehicle specifically for autonomous service. Yet production capacity, including the availability of 4680 battery packs cited in Ives’ note, could constrain how quickly Tesla expands its fleet.

What Investors Should WatchIves also sees Tesla’s Optimus robots and energy-storage business expanding the company’s addressable markets. Those opportunities could strengthen the $500 case, but they also require investment before their contribution to earnings becomes clear.

Tesla’s next test is whether it can scale Robotaxi operations while preserving the cash-generating power of its vehicle business. Investors should watch fleet growth, paid miles, FSD subscriptions and Cybercab production for evidence that physical AI is becoming a measurable business rather than a valuation promise.

TSLA Price Action: Tesla shares were up 3.15% at $386.80 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

That's a remarkable turnaround. Microsoft gained about 37% in the third quarter of 2026. It was the company's best quarterly performance since 1998. In late June, shares were trading around $372.

Get Microsoft alerts:

But the easy part of this rally may be over. The next leg is less about Microsoft's business and more about investor psychology.

MSFT peaked near $555 in October 2025. It then spent roughly eight months falling. At the bottom, a $10,000 investment made at the peak was worth about $6,510. Many of those investors are finally close to breaking even.

That creates a different kind of test for MSFT stock. Investors tend to sell winners too early and hold losers too long. When a losing position finally gets back to even, the urge to sell can be overwhelming.

Microsoft's fundamentals have earned this rally. Now the stock has to work through a wall of breakeven sellers. And it has to do that heading into an earnings report where expectations are much higher than they were three months ago.

Q4 Turned a Pariah Into Wall Street's DarlingIt's hard to overstate how fast the narrative changed. Heading into July, the story around Microsoft was capital expenditures (CapEx) fatigue. Investors questioned whether its massive AI spending would ever earn an adequate return.

Then Microsoft reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 results on July 29. Revenue came in at $90 billion, up nearly 18% year-over-year. Azure crossed $100 billion in annual revenue for the first time. Earnings per share (EPS) of $4.74 topped the $4.24 consensus estimate.

The stock jumped about 15% the next day. It was Microsoft's biggest single-day gain since 2008.

Analysts have followed the price higher. Stifel upgraded MSFT to Buy in late September. On Oct. 5, Melius Research upgraded the stock to Buy with a $665 price target. Scotiabank raised its target to $615 from $510.

This is the same company, with largely the same AI strategy, that investors were avoiding in the spring. What changed was perception. In other words, the numbers gave investors permission to believe again.

Why $555 Is a Psychological Level, Not Just a Technical OneMost investors will see $553.72 as resistance on a chart. That's true, but it misses the behavioral story behind the number.

Think about who owns MSFT at that level. Many bought during the AI enthusiasm of late 2025. Some added on the way down, convinced the sell-off was overdone. Others simply held through a drawdown of roughly 35%.

Behavioral economists call the tendency to sell winners and hold losers the disposition effect. A related bias, sometimes called "get-evenitis," keeps investors anchored to their purchase price. Once a stock gets back there, the relief of not losing money often beats the hope of more gains.

That doesn't mean Microsoft can't break through. It means the stock needs a reason to absorb that supply. Momentum alone may not be enough. A fresh catalyst usually does the job. For Microsoft, that catalyst is its Q1 earnings report for fiscal year 2027 (FY2027).

Earnings Will Have to Clear a Higher BarMicrosoft hasn't confirmed its next earnings date, but the report date is estimated for Oct. 28. The headline number will be Azure growth. Management guided for growth of about 45% in the quarter.

Three months ago, a number like that would have looked like upside. Now it's closer to the baseline. With the stock up nearly 40% in a quarter, investors may want more than a match.

There's also some fine print in last quarter's beat. The $4.74 EPS figure included a $3.2 billion gain on Microsoft's Anthropic stake. That's a real gain, but it isn't a repeatable operating result.

Spending remains part of the debate, too. Quarterly capital expenditures roughly doubled year-over-year, and free cash flow fell about 23%. Management also expects CapEx to grow again in fiscal 2027.

None of this breaks the bull case. CFO Amy Hood said in July that demand still exceeds available capacity. But it does mean the stock has less room for a merely good quarter.

Chasing MSFT at $530 Is a Different TradeFor long-term investors, Microsoft's story looks stronger than it did six months ago. Its AI investments are showing up in revenue, and Wall Street sentiment has turned firmly bullish.

But buying MSFT at $530 isn't the same trade as buying it at $372. At roughly 30x trailing earnings, the stock is priced for steady execution. The margin for error is thinner.

Investors who want exposure may be better served by scaling in. A pullback toward $500, where the stock consolidated in late September, would offer a more comfortable entry. A decisive close above $553.72 on strong volume would confirm a breakout.

If MSFT stalls near its old high, don't read it as a verdict on the business. It may simply be breakeven investors heading for the exits. Once they're gone, the path higher could get a lot easier.

The current level reflects a downward revision of 0.5% in the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter over the past 30 days. This demonstrates how the analysts covering the stock have collectively reappraised their initial projections over this period.

Before a company reveals its earnings, it is vital to take into account any changes in earnings projections. These revisions play a pivotal role in predicting the possible reactions of investors toward the stock. Multiple empirical studies have consistently shown a strong association between trends in earnings estimates and the short-term price movements of a stock.

While investors typically use consensus earnings and revenue estimates as indicators of quarterly business performance, exploring analysts' projections for specific key metrics can offer valuable insights.

Bearing this in mind, let's now explore the average estimates of specific Bank of America metrics that are commonly monitored and projected by Wall Street analysts.

Akcie Ford Motor za pět let klesly o 18 %
F Ford Motor Company
FMP Stock News 85
Original source text
While the S&P 500 soared and rival GM recovered, Ford kept finding new ways to stumble under CEO Jim Farley, and the reasons behind its five-year slide reveal a company struggling to hold its ground in almost every market it…

Ford’s (NYSE: F | F Price Prediction) stock is down 18% over the last five years, while the S&P 500 is up 75%. Ford argues that its dividend makes up some of the difference. Investors in the stock itself have not bought into that story. Rival GM’s (NYSE: GM) stock is up 40% over the period. Ford has done little over the last half-decade to help the stock, unless the “little” is a series of unforced errors.

CEO Jim Farley has held the top job for six years, so almost all of the drop has come on his watch.

Ford held a strong position in the US fossil-fuel car industry. Most of it came from its SUV and pickup products. The F-Series full-size pickup has been America’s top-selling vehicle for over four decades. It is 37% of Ford’s US sales today. Ford hasn’t been able to change that, which makes it something of a one-legged stool in its home market.

Ford’s China and Europe businesses were once solid. That is not the case anymore. Ford’s sales in Europe were down 17.7% for the first eight months to 171,670. That puts it behind Chinese EV company BYD, which grew by 163% to 177,752.

CNBC recently reported, “Ford’s own language for what’s happening is more revealing than any outside description could be. The company describes its China unit’s strategy as building ‘in China, for the world.’” In other words, Ford sales in China are poor.

Among the world’s three largest car markets, it is only doing well in one–the US. And Ford barely held on to third place in third-quarter unit sales. It barely edged out South Korea’s Hyundai Motor.

Ford’s move in and out of EVs has been so well covered by the press that it is not worth mentioning.

Finally, Ford’s new move into EVs is a small, inexpensive pickup. The Fathom goes on sale a year from now. It is more evidence that Ford cannot turn on a dime to get models out the door. The Fathom is built on Ford’s unproven Universal EV Production System.

Ford’s stock has had a horrible five years. Nothing on the horizon suggests that will change.

SpaceX kupuje licence v pásmu 800 MHz pro Starlink Mobile
VZ Verizon
FMP Stock News 78
Original source text
Space Exploration Technologies Corp.‘s (NASDAQ:SPCX) push into wireless is creating an unexpected split in the stock market: traditional telecom carriers are under pressure, while the companies that own their physical infrastructure are climbing.

The distinction matters because even a satellite-powered mobile network may need plenty of equipment on the ground, potentially turning a threat to Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) into an opportunity for cell-tower owners.

SpaceX Raises the StakesOn Oct. 8, SpaceX agreed to acquire Grain Management’s nationwide portfolio of 800 MHz wireless spectrum licenses, a move designed to help Starlink Mobile become a major U.S. carrier. The deal covers up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum and requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission, according to Grain Management’s announcement.

The market wasted little time reacting. Verizon, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and T-Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS) fell between 5.5% and 7.4% in premarket trading on Oct. 9, while SpaceX shares rose. The sell-off reflected investor concerns that Starlink could eventually compete for wireless subscribers, particularly in rural markets where satellite connectivity has an advantage.

Low-band spectrum can travel farther and penetrate buildings more effectively than higher-frequency signals. Combined with satellites, it could help SpaceX extend connectivity beyond traditional coverage gaps and challenge established carriers’ pricing and customer relationships.

Why Tower Stocks Are RisingThe surprising beneficiaries are American Tower Corp. (REIT) (NYSE:AMT), Crown Castle Inc. (NYSE:CCI) and SBA Communications Corp (NASDAQ:SBAC). Their shares rose as investors considered a possibility that the carrier sell-off obscures: SpaceX may disrupt wireless service without eliminating the need for terrestrial infrastructure.

Satellites can provide broad coverage, but ground-based networks remain important for capacity in densely populated areas. Towers, rooftops and small-cell equipment can help connect devices and manage traffic where demand is concentrated.

Reuters cited Morgan Stanley analysts describing the spectrum transaction as potentially constructive for tower operators. A hybrid network could require additional ground deployments, particularly if SpaceX competes beyond rural coverage and targets urban subscribers.

That is an opportunity, not a guaranteed windfall. Tower companies would benefit only if SpaceX or its partners actually lease infrastructure or deploy equipment that generates additional revenue. The acquisition alone does not establish that contracts are coming.

What Investors Should WatchThe next catalyst is execution. Investors should look for FCC approval, details of Starlink Mobile’s rollout and evidence of tower-leasing agreements that could translate the market’s optimism into revenue. Verizon and its peers face a potential new competitor, but the threat will depend on coverage, pricing and how quickly SpaceX can build a reliable service.

For tower owners, the investment case is more nuanced than simply betting against telecom carriers. If SpaceX expands its terrestrial network, infrastructure providers could gain a new customer even as existing tenants face competitive pressure. Until leasing commitments emerge, however, the rally remains a bet on what SpaceX may need — not revenue it has already secured.

BlackRock ve třetím čtvrtletí očekává růst EPS o 21,6 %
BLK BlackRock
FMP Stock News 88
Original source text
Key Takeaways BlackRock is set to report Q3 earnings on Oct. 14, with EPS expected to rise 21.6% y/y.BLK's AUM is expected to jump 16.4% y/y, driven by market appreciation and healthy inflows.BlackRock's revenues are expected to grow 14.5% y/y despite rising costs and fee pressure. BlackRock (BLK - Free Report) is slated to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 14, before the opening bell. Its quarterly revenues and earnings are expected to have improved year over year.

BLK’s second-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Results benefited from a rise in revenues. The assets under management (AUM) balance witnessed growth to record levels, driven mainly by net inflows and AUM additions from the HPS and ElmTree transactions. However, higher expenses created a headwind.

BlackRock has an impressive earnings surprise history. Its earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in the trailing four quarters, the average surprise being 7.3%.

Before we take a look at what our quantitative model predicts for the to-be-reported quarter, let us check the factors that are likely to have impacted BlackRock’s performance.

Key Factors & Q3 Estimates for BLKAUM: BlackRock’s AUM is expected to have benefited from equity market appreciation during the third quarter, supported by continued investor interest in artificial intelligence (AI)-related companies and relatively resilient global equity markets. However, intermittent market volatility and uncertainties surrounding interest rates and geopolitical developments may have moderated gains in certain asset classes.

The company’s industry-leading iShares exchange-traded fund (ETF) franchise is likely to have continued attracting healthy inflows, supported by sustained investor demand for low-cost, diversified investment products. Continued demand for fixed-income ETFs, active investment strategies and cash-management solutions is also expected to have supported organic AUM growth.

Additionally, BlackRock’s expanding private-markets platform may have contributed to asset growth, although the timing of institutional allocations and fundraising activity could have influenced quarterly flows.

Nevertheless, fluctuations in foreign-exchange rates, market volatility and institutional portfolio rebalancing may have affected overall AUM growth to some extent.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for BLK’s total AUM for the third quarter is pegged at $15.67 trillion, indicating a year-over-year jump of 16.4%.

Revenue Components: BlackRock is expected to have recorded growth in its investment advisory, administration fees and securities-lending revenues on decent inflows and latest offerings. The consensus estimate for the metric is $6.02 billion, implying a 19.2% year-over-year rise.

Akcie Starbucks za pět let klesly o 16 %
SBUX Starbucks
FMP Stock News 85
Original source text
Starbucks once seemed unstoppable, expanding from 16,000 stores to 38,000 in just six years, yet something quietly broke along the way. A new CEO, a reshaped menu, and a bold bet in China have done little to convince shareholders that…

For years, Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) was a growth company and a growth stock. In 2016, it had about 16,000 stores, including company-owned and franchised locations. By 2022, it had reached 38,000 stores, and that growth began to flatten. Investors started to beat down its shares at the same time. Comparable sales, which also suffered, have begun to grow after a period of decline. That has not been enough. Shares are down 16% over the last five years. The S&P 500 is 75% higher. Could it be worse? Sure, but not by much.

What are investors seeing? Growth stopped. One problem was revenue. The other was comparable store sales. However, in the most recent quarter, comparable store sales rose 7.9%. But revenue was flat at $9.3 billion. It showed progress and was enough to give the stock a bump, but it was not sustainable.

And Starbucks abandoned its primary global growth initiative. Boyu Capital in China took a 60% stake. Starbucks kept 40% and “continues to own and license the brand and intellectual property to the joint venture.” The venture set a goal of reaching 20,000 stores from the current 8,000. However, what evidence is there that a new controlling shareholder can do that? Local coffee store leader Luckin’ Coffee has 35,000 stores worldwide, most of which are in China.

Some hoped new CEO Brian Niccol could carry over success from his last job at Chipotle (NYSE: CMG). He began by closing underperforming Starbucks locations, setting a dress code for local store staff, making modest personnel cuts, removing low-performing items from the menu, and reducing customer wait times. Shareholders viewed this as window dressing. The stock is down 10% in the last month.

How many investors believe Starbucks can end its five-year stock slide? Not many.

Čistý zisk Shopify na akcii vzrostl o 68 %
SHOP Shopify

Shopify (SHOP +2.56%) stock has seen some volatile swings over the last five years. While the company's share price has been surging recently, it's still only up roughly 22% over the last half decade. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is up 79%, and the Nasdaq Composite has risen 90%.

But while the e-commerce services specialist's share price gains have lagged behind the broader market over that stretch, the fact that the company's net income per share increased 68% year over year in the second quarter to reach $1.16 is hard to ignore.

Trading at roughly 67 times next year's expected earnings, Shopify undeniably has a growth-dependent valuation -- but recent momentum for earnings expansion has looked very encouraging. Crucially, the foundations needed to keep earnings growing at a strong clip appear to be in place.

Gross merchandise volume across Shopify's e-commerce platform increased 32% year over year to reach roughly $116 billion in the second quarter. In turn, this helped push revenue for the period up 34% year over year to $3.6 billion.

Demand for the company's e-commerce services continues to look very strong, and Shopify should continue benefiting from new merchants joining its platform and scaling their operations. The company may also be in the early stages of benefiting from cost-cutting efficiencies and engagement tailwinds connected to artificial intelligence that can further support strong earnings growth.

Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO - Free Report) has been benefiting from strong product orders from hyperscalers, enterprises, service providers, the public sector and cloud customers. In fiscal 2026, CSCO generated record-high revenues primarily due to its networking portfolio, powered by Silicon One, AI-native security solutions and operating systems. Increasing AI workloads at the network edge and the emergence of physical AI are benefiting the industrial IoT portfolio.

The chart below shows the price performance of CSCO year to date.

CSCO Rides on AI Networking StrengthCisco closed fiscal 2026 with $9.3 billion in hyperscaler AI infrastructure orders, about 4.5 times fiscal 2025, and roughly $4 billion in related revenues. CSCO expects hyperscaler AI revenues to reach $7.5 billion in fiscal 2027. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, networking product orders rose 40% year over year, the eighth straight quarter of double-digit growth.

Company-wide orders excluding hyperscalers rose 25% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. CSCO links this demand to AI traffic, infrastructure modernization and security requirements, reinforcing its view of a multi-year networking cycle.

AI hyperscaler behemoths like Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN - Free Report) , Microsoft Corp. (MSFT - Free Report) , Meta Platforms Inc. (META - Free Report) and Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL - Free Report) are using CSCO’s AI-enabled networking infrastructure and switching equipment for their data centers.

Silicon & Optics PositioningCisco’s vertically integrated networking stack is expanding across scale-out and scale-across AI architectures. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, the company won three new hyperscaler designs, covering a P200 scale-across system, a G200 scale-out system and an optical line system. Fiscal 2026 hyperscaler AI orders were about 60% Silicon One-based systems and 40% optics, while Acacia generated more than $1 billion in orders in the last reported quarter.

Security and Collaboration BusinessIn the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, security revenues increased 14% year over year. More than 1,500 customers bought newer security products, while firewall orders grew more than 30% for the second consecutive quarter. CSCO expects security growth to move from low single digits in fiscal 2026 to high single digits in fiscal 2027 and reach double-digit growth as the year progresses.

Cisco is extending AI into operations. Nearly 4,500 enterprises had signed up for Cisco Cloud Control by the end of the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, while Cisco IQ had more than 8,600 customers. Management said AI use across customer experience is raising renewal rates. In September 2026, management said services should turn positive in fiscal 2027 and reach mid-single-digit growth by the year-end as hardware-related services attach.

Solid GuidanceFor the first quarter of fiscal 2027, CSCO expects revenues between $18 billion and $18.2 billion. Non-GAAP earnings are projected at $1.32-$1.34 per share, with a non-GAAP gross margin of 65-66% and an operating margin of 35.5-36.5%.

For fiscal 2027, Cisco projects revenues of $72.2-$73.4 billion and non-GAAP earnings of $5.05-$5.11 per share. Hyperscaler AI infrastructure revenues are expected to reach $7.5 billion, up from approximately $4 billion in fiscal 2026.

IBM Stock Gets $240 Price Target as Truist Questions Timing of AI Demand Summary

Truist began covering IBM with a Hold rating and a $240 price target, citing uncertainty over when enterprise AI investment will translate into stronger deman

IBM (IBM) received a Hold rating from Truist Securities on Friday as the firm began covering the technology company with a $240 price target.

The move puts the focus on whether its AI-related offerings can generate customer demand soon enough to offset execution concerns, according to a Friday analyst note.

Analyst Arvind Ramnani sees IBM as having several routes into enterprise AI. Its mainframe systems handle transaction workloads, watsonx Orchestrate coordinates tasks across AI models, and Red Hat software supports applications across private data centers and cloud platforms. IBM also provides consulting to help businesses put AI tools into use.

The central question is when corporate investment in AI infrastructure will begin translating into more demand for IBM. Truist highlighted uncertainty about that timeline alongside the company's second-quarter 2026 results, which missed expectations and preceded a sell-off of more than 20%.

Following the decline, IBM trades at about 17 times forward earnings, a valuation Truist considers reasonable. Still, the Hold recommendation reflects a wait-and-see stance: IBM has businesses positioned around AI, but the timing and scale of commercial returns remain uncertain.

Akcie Phillips 66 dosáhly nového 52týdenního maxima
PSX Phillips 66
FMP Stock News 72
Original source text
A strong stock as of late has been Phillips 66 (PSX - Free Report) . Shares have been marching higher, with the stock up 8.9% over the past month. The stock hit a new 52-week high of $282.64 in the previous session. Phillips 66 has gained 118.2% since the start of the year compared to the 37.2% move for the Zacks Oils-Energy sector and the 150.3% return for the Zacks Oil and Gas - Refining and Marketing industry.

What's Driving the Outperformance? The stock has an impressive record of positive earnings surprises, as it hasn't missed our earnings consensus estimate in any of the last four quarters. In its last earnings report on August 5, 2026, Phillips 66 reported EPS of $9.41 versus consensus estimate of $7.68.

For the current fiscal year, Phillips 66 is expected to post earnings of $29.01 per share on $157.49 in revenues. This represents a 350.47% change in EPS on a 15.33% change in revenues. For the next fiscal year, the company is expected to earn $29.79 per share on $147.13 in revenues. This represents a year-over-year change of 2.66% and -6.58%, respectively.

Valuation MetricsThough Phillips 66 has recently hit a 52-week high, what is next for Phillips 66? A key aspect of this question is taking a look at valuation metrics in order to determine if the company has run ahead of itself.

On this front, we can look at the Zacks Style Scores, as these give investors a variety of ways to comb through stocks (beyond looking at the Zacks Rank of a security). These styles are represented by grades running from A to F in the categories of Value, Growth, and Momentum, while there is a combined VGM Score as well. The idea behind the style scores is to help investors pick the most appropriate Zacks Rank stocks based on their individual investment style.

Phillips 66 has a Value Score of B. The stock's Growth and Momentum Scores are A and B, respectively, giving the company a VGM Score of A.

In terms of its value breakdown, the stock currently trades at 9.7X current fiscal year EPS estimates, which is a premium to the peer industry average of 8.9X. On a trailing cash flow basis, the stock currently trades at 19.1X versus its peer group's average of 12X. This isn't enough to put the company in the top echelon of all stocks we cover from a value perspective.

Zacks RankWe also need to look at the Zacks Rank for the stock, as this is even more important than the company's VGM Score. Fortunately, Phillips 66 currently has a Zacks Rank of #1 (Strong Buy) thanks to favorable earnings estimate revisions from covering analysts.

Since we recommend that investors select stocks carrying Zacks Rank of 1 (Strong Buy) or 2 (Buy) and Style Scores of A or B, it looks as if Phillips 66 passes the test. Thus, it seems as though Phillips 66 shares could still be poised for more gains ahead.

How Does PSX Stack Up to the Competition?Shares of PSX have been soaring, and the company still appears to be a decent choice, but what about the rest of the industry? One industry peer that looks good is PBF Energy Inc. (PBF - Free Report) . PBF has a Zacks Rank of #1 (Strong Buy) and a Value Score of A, a Growth Score of A, and a Momentum Score of A.

Earnings were strong last quarter. PBF Energy Inc. beat our consensus estimate by 53.58%, and for the current fiscal year, PBF is expected to post earnings of $24.69 per share on revenue of $39.14 billion.

Shares of PBF Energy Inc. have gained 15.9% over the past month, and currently trade at a forward P/E of 3.62X and a P/CF of 55.51X.

The Oil and Gas - Refining and Marketing industry is in the top 2% of all the industries we have in our universe, so it looks like there are some nice tailwinds for PSX and PBF, even beyond their own solid fundamental situation.

Akcie Fastly vzrostly o 15 % po zvýšení doporučení
FSLY Fastly
FMP Stock News 78
Original source text
Oppenheimer just handed Fastly a rare upgrade, arguing the market is sleeping on something sitting directly in front of one of tech's fastest-growing workloads. Whether the trade holds depends on products that launched weeks ago and have yet to earn…

Fastly (NYSE:FSLY) shares gained 15% to $29.04 after Oppenheimer upgraded the edge network operator to Outperform from Neutral. The call highlights how directly Fastly’s traffic-metered business sits in front of fast-growing artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, a link Oppenheimer believes the market hasn’t fully priced.

Meanwhile, Datadog (NASDAQ:DDOG | DDOG Price Prediction) shares are at $284.62, up 4%. Cloudflare (NYSE:NET) stock is at $350.31, up 2%, trailing Fastly despite running the same kind of edge network.

For a sector read, the First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (NASDAQ:SKYY) is up 1.6%, lagging both Cloudflare and Datadog shares. A wider benchmark, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY), is up 0.5%. The cloud sector is being bid as a group, while Fastly stock’s far larger move shows that the upgrade doing much of the work.

Oppenheimer Points to Bigger Deals and AI Agent Traffic Oppenheimer analyst Param Singh coupled the upgrade with a $35 price target on Fastly stock, building the call on industry checks. Those checks point to rising average deal sizes as customers add Fastly’s newer security products, and they also flag early monetization of agentic AI traffic, which raises network volume and demand for its bot management tools.

Singh argued that Fastly stock trades at a steep discount to other infrastructure software vendors and that the gap can narrow as growth comes through. The newest products in Fastly’s security lineup (AI Runtime, AI Firewall and API Enforcement) reached general availability in September. None of the three has contributed significantly to revenue yet, so the cross-sell the upgrade is built on still lies ahead.

Why Fastly Is Moving Harder Than Cloudflare and Datadog Fastly runs a content delivery and edge security network and charges largely on traffic volume, so automated requests from AI agents flow straight into its billing.

Cloudflare, the closest and much larger comparison, runs the same kind of edge network with a broader platform on top. Datadog sells observability software, a weaker link to the same trend. That difference in direct exposure lines up with Fastly’s bigger move.

On the bullish side, a traffic-metered business sits in front of a fast-growing workload, and Singh’s discount argument leaves room for a rerate. Rising security deal sizes would add a second engine, part of the same AI expansion we mapped across power, cooling, and networking suppliers in a free report on seven AI infrastructure names.

The bear case: an upgrade built on industry checks and weeks-old products is still an expectation waiting for proof. Fastly has also long been the smaller competitor in a market Cloudflare has been winning, and a steep discount can persist if growth comes in slower.

What to Watch Next Signs that AI Runtime, AI Firewall and API Enforcement are lifting average deal sizes will be worth watching, along with bot management demand tied to agentic AI traffic, which connects the AI theme most directly to the metered network.

Fastly stock at $29.04 still sits below Param Singh’s $35 target. However, a 15% jump on an upgrade tied to products that launched in September leaves the shares exposed to any sign the cross-sell is arriving slowly. Until the new security tools show up in reported revenue, position sizes should stay measured.

Costco před očekávaným růstem EPS posílilo
COST Costco Wholesale
FMP Stock News 72
Original source text
Costco (COST - Free Report) has recently been on Zacks.com's list of the most searched stocks. Therefore, you might want to consider some of the key factors that could influence the stock's performance in the near future.

Shares of this warehouse club operator have returned +5.1% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +1.3% change. The Zacks Retail - Discount Stores industry, to which Costco belongs, has gained 2.9% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term?

Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision.

Revisions to Earnings EstimatesRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings.

Our analysis is essentially based on how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to take the latest business trends into account. When earnings estimates for a company go up, the fair value for its stock goes up as well. And when a stock's fair value is higher than its current market price, investors tend to buy the stock, resulting in its price moving upward. Because of this, empirical studies indicate a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and short-term stock price movements.

Costco is expected to post earnings of $4.89 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +12.7%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed +1.4%.

The consensus earnings estimate of $22.87 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of +11.8%. This estimate has changed +1.6% over the last 30 days.

For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $24.94 indicates a change of +9.1% from what Costco is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +1.8%.

With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for Costco.

The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate:

12 Month EPS

Revenue Growth ForecastEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial.

In the case of Costco, the consensus sales estimate of $73.99 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +9.9%. The $328.42 billion and $351.91 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +8.3% and +7.2%, respectively.

Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryCostco reported revenues of $95.72 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +11.1%. EPS of $6.6 for the same period compares with $5.87 a year ago.

Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $94.82 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +0.95%. The EPS surprise was +1.85%.

The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters. The company topped consensus revenue estimates three times over this period.

ValuationWithout considering a stock's valuation, no investment decision can be efficient. In predicting a stock's future price performance, it's crucial to determine whether its current price correctly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects.

While comparing the current values of a company's valuation multiples, such as price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), with its own historical values helps determine whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of the reasonability of the stock's price.

As part of the Zacks Style Scores system, the Zacks Value Style Score (which evaluates both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics) organizes stocks into five groups ranging from A to F (A is better than B; B is better than C; and so on), making it helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued.

Costco is graded D on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.

Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Costco. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term.

The company’s tenant diversification helps support portfolio stability. Investment-grade clients accounted for 34.3% of annualized base rent (ABR), while its top 20 tenants contributed 34.8%. Although retail properties represented 78.3% of ABR, Realty Income’s presence across multiple industries helps broaden its revenue base and reduce reliance on any single tenant or sector.

Rent recapture reached 104.6% for existing clients, highlighting its ability to secure higher rents when renewing leases with current tenants.

Key Takeaways DaVita is benefiting from IKC growth, improving treatment volumes and technology investments.IKC beat expectations by $40 million in adjusted operating income in the second quarter.DaVita faces commercial-mix pressure, elevated G&A costs and limited acquisition opportunities. DaVita Inc. (DVA - Free Report) has been gaining from strong execution across its Integrated Kidney Care (“IKC”) platform, improving treatment volumes and investments in technology and clinical innovation. The optimism is driven by solid first-quarter 2026 results and higher full-year guidance. However, intense competition, commercial payer-mix pressures and regulatory and macroeconomic uncertainty remain key concerns.

Year to date, this Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) stock has rallied 55.8%, outperforming the industry’s 19.8% growth and the S&P 500’s 14.5% gain.

The renowned global comprehensive kidney care provider has a market capitalization of $11.28 billion. The company projects 26.5% growth over the next five years and expects to maintain its strong performance going forward. DaVita’s earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in three of the trailing four quarters and missed once, the average surprise being 0.14%.

DVA’s Prospect DriversIKC Offers a Scalable Earnings Growth Opportunity: IKC is emerging as a meaningful avenue for DaVita to diversify growth beyond traditional dialysis operations. Management said IKC generated $40 million of adjusted operating income above expectations in the second quarter, although timing of revenue recognition was a major factor.

The company sees significant growth opportunities through improved economics and an expansion in the number of people and dollars under management. Management also expects to add more contracts with Medicare Advantage plans. As the model matures, closer coordination among nephrologists, clinics and DaVita could enhance care management and drive a growing contribution to operating earnings.

Improving Treatment Economics Could Support Margin Expansion: DaVita is seeing signs of moderating per-treatment cost pressures as treatment volumes improve.Patient care cost per treatment declined approximately $3 sequentially in the second quarter, primarily because higher treatment volumes created operating leverage on labor and other fixed costs, while lower phosphate-binder expenses provided an additional benefit.

Although year-to-date patient care costs remained above the company’s full-year target, management expects year-over-year cost growth to decelerate in the second half as phosphate-binder expenses decline and facility-maintenance growth moderates. If treatment volumes continue improving, greater absorption of fixed operating expenses could provide incremental earnings leverage even without significant increases in revenue per treatment.

Stronger Formulary Adoption Can Improve Treatment Quality and Utilization: DaVita’s broad phosphate-binder formulary is generating an important clinical and operational benefit following the transition of these medications into the Medicare dialysis bundle. Management said the number of patients relying on less-effective over-the-counter alternatives such as TUMS has fallen by more than 50%, allowing more patients to receive clinically preferred therapies.

Better phosphate management can reduce risks associated with cardiovascular complications and bone fractures, supporting improved patient outcomes over time. The development also demonstrates DaVita’s ability to implement major treatment-policy changes across its network. As the company continues optimizing bundled-care protocols, stronger treatment adherence and clinical consistency could support its broader quality-of-care strategy.

Key RisksRevenue per Treatment Faces Persistent Commercial-Mix Pressure: DaVita’s biggest near-term earnings constraint may come from declining revenue per treatment rather than treatment volumes. Revenue per treatment (RPT) declined approximately $2 sequentially during the second quarter, primarily because of lower commercial mix following the expiration of ACA subsidies and reduced phosphate-binder revenues.

Management expects full-year RPT growth of only 1-2%, implying slightly negative year-over-year RPT growth in the second half. The company estimates that the commercial-mix shift could represent a roughly $70 million impact in 2027, as new patient admissions increasingly arrive with lower commercial coverage. This creates a structural offset to volume growth and limits the earnings benefit from improving treatment volumes.

Elevated Corporate and Operating Expenses Could Limit Volume Leverage: Despite treatment growth, DaVita has not yet translated the improvement fully into U.S. dialysis operating-income growth. Management noted that U.S. dialysis operating income was relatively flat year over year in the second quarter, with G&A growth of roughly 10% acting as one of the principal offsets. This is particularly important as treatment volumes increase while the company faces higher administrative expenses.

If G&A remains elevated, incremental treatment volumes may generate less operating leverage than investors expect. Management needs continued discipline around corporate costs to ensure that improving clinical outcomes and treatment volumes translate into stronger segment profitability rather than being absorbed by higher overhead.

Limited Acquisition Opportunities Could Constrain External Growth: DaVita’s ability to accelerate growth through acquisitions appears increasingly limited because the U.S. dialysis market has become highly consolidated.

Management said there are still smaller clinic opportunities available, but characterized the market as having relatively few acquisition targets. Consequently, future domestic expansion is expected to rely more heavily on de novo clinics as industry treatment volumes improve. This shifts the growth profile toward internally developed capacity, which generally requires more time to build patient density and establish operating maturity.

While the strategy can support long-term expansion, the scarcity of attractive acquisition opportunities reduces DaVita’s ability to rapidly increase market share through inorganic growth and places greater importance on execution of its organic expansion pipeline.

Estimate TrendDaVita is witnessing a stable estimate revision trend for 2026. Over the past 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings per share has remained unchanged at $14.57.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company’s third-quarter 2026 revenues is pegged at $3.53 billion, indicating a 3.2% uptick from the year-ago quarter’s reported number. The consensus mark for earnings is pegged at $3.78 per share, implying 50.6% year-over-year growth.

Micron Technology News Roundup Here are the key news stories impacting Micron Technology this week:

Positive Sentiment: Strong earnings and forward guidance support the growth outlook. Micron reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion and adjusted earnings of $33.42 per share, both ahead of expectations. Management also projected fiscal first-quarter 2027 adjusted EPS of $37.15-$39.15, implying another sequential increase. Micron’s Latest Earnings Reveal Why the AI Memory Supercycle Could Run for Years Positive Sentiment: AI-related demand remains a major catalyst. More than 75% of Micron’s fiscal 2027 output is reportedly committed, while customers are already discussing 2028 allocations. Record DRAM revenue and surging enterprise SSD demand suggest data-center customers are securing memory supply well in advance. Micron: This Memory Cycle Could End Differently Positive Sentiment: Analyst support remains strong. Zacks upgraded Micron to “Strong Buy,” while D.A. Davidson raised its price target to $3,000 and maintained a Buy rating, citing a potential multiyear shortage driven by AI infrastructure spending. Micron & 2 Profitable Stocks to Buy in October for Big Upside Neutral Sentiment: Valuation and cyclicality remain debated. Bullish analysts view Micron’s roughly six-to-seven-times forward earnings valuation as inexpensive, but skeptics warn that margins may be near a peak and that memory prices could eventually normalize. A $600 million settlement with Netlist also removes a legal overhang but adds a material cost. Micron Technology, Netlist Settle Patent Dispute for $600 Million Negative Sentiment: Investors reacted negatively to weaker-than-expected AI revenue concerns. A report that OpenAI’s annualized revenue was below expectations triggered a broader selloff in AI and semiconductor stocks. Analysts said the figure may reflect reporting differences rather than a deterioration in AI demand, but the news heightened concern about crowded AI valuations. Micron, Nvidia and AI chip stocks fall as report on OpenAI’s revenue causes undue concern Negative Sentiment: A Taiwan labor dispute adds operational risk. Workers at Micron’s major Taiwan manufacturing sites authorized a strike over bonus changes. No walkout has been announced, but a disruption could threaten production and increase costs. Micron’s Taoyuan union in Taiwan secures authorisation to strike Negative Sentiment: Samsung’s record profit did not reassure memory investors. Although Samsung reported sharply higher operating profit, the slower pace of growth and concerns that the memory cycle is nearing a peak reinforced fears that Micron’s exceptional earnings growth may decelerate. Every time Micron dips, one investor keeps buying more shares, and the reasoning has nothing to do with short-term momentum. The structural case building behind this memory giant may be one of the quieter conviction plays unfolding in AI right…

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

My position in Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU | MU Price Prediction) grew again this week, and I already know I’ll repeat the move. Shares fell 4.79% on Thursday to $1,035.84 after a report on OpenAI’s revenue rattled AI chip stocks. I treated that dip the way I treat every dip in this name: as another entry point.

Here is what keeps pulling me back. Memory used to be a commodity that boomed and busted. AI changed that math. Every model with longer context and more users needs more memory, and Micron makes the HBM, DRAM, and data center SSDs those systems run on. Management says it has “no line of sight to when supply and demand will return to balance.” I want to own the bottleneck.

Three Receipts Behind Every Purchase First, the earnings engine. Fiscal 2026 revenue reached $133.19 billion, up 256.3%, with non-GAAP EPS of $75.52. Fourth-quarter gross margin hit 87.0% versus 45.7% a year earlier, marking the 8th consecutive EPS beat. Guidance for fiscal Q1 2027 calls for $61.5 billion in revenue and EPS of $38.15.

Second, visibility. Micron has signed 26 strategic customer agreements, all with take-or-pay volumes. Remaining performance obligations sit near $150 billion, customer commitments total $32 billion, and more than 75% of 2027 output is already committed. Management expects margins even at floor prices to sit significantly above any prior cycle peak.

The balance sheet stands out too. Micron ended the quarter with $68.3 billion in net cash, earned BBB+ ratings from all three agencies, and produced $33.20 billion in quarterly free cash flow. Starting December 9, 2026, management plans to step up capital returns, aiming over time to return 100% of excess cash, mostly through buybacks. The $0.15 quarterly dividend followed a 30% raise. I own this for compounding and share count reduction, with income as a bonus.

Why My Money Goes Here Instead of NVIDIA The AI name everyone reaches for first is NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA). I pass on it for valuation. NVIDIA trades at 30 times trailing earnings and 25 times forward earnings, with a price-to-sales ratio of 18.93. Micron trades at 14 times trailing, 7 times forward, and 9.23 times sales. I still get NVIDIA’s roadmap through Micron, which is building “the industry’s first custom HBM4E implementation, NVHBM” with it.

Risks That Keep Me Disciplined Memory remains cyclical. Capex ran $30.71 billion in fiscal 2026, and first-half fiscal 2027 spending should reach about $25 billion. HBM4 volume leans on a lead customer, a Taiwan union won approval to strike, and a beta of 2.226 guarantees violent swings. If AI spending slows or rivals add capacity faster than expected, pricing breaks.

I accept that. Floor-priced, take-or-pay contracts and a large cash pile give Micron room to weather a downturn that would have crushed the old Micron.

What Keeps My Buy Button Active Idaho’s ID1 fab should begin wafer output in mid-calendar 2027, HBM4E volume production arrives in calendar 2027, and Level 4 autonomous vehicles need more than 200 gigabytes of memory each. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra put it simply: “As strong as fiscal 2026 was, we expect fiscal 2027 to be even better.” (The signs that show up years before a monster tech run are the ones we cataloged in a free playbook here: The Next Nvidia Playbook.)

While the world keeps running short of memory, I will keep buying the company that makes it.

BlackBerry získala kontrakt pro QNX za více než 100 milionů USD
BB BlackBerry
FMP Stock News 94
Original source text
Key Takeaways BB secured its first Alloy Kore design win with Coretura, its largest QNX award to date. The Coretura deal adds over $100 million in future royalties to QNX's $950M backlog.Alloy Kore's price is roughly 3x current QNX deployments, but its FY2027 revenue impact will be limited. BlackBerry Limited (BB - Free Report) has secured its first Alloy Kore design win, giving investors a clearer view of how the platform could expand QNX’s role in software-defined vehicles. The Coretura award is the largest design win in QNX history.

The agreement adds more than $100 million in expected future royalties. That creates a meaningful long-term opportunity, although the timing of production will determine when those royalties become revenues.

BlackBerry Lands a Landmark Alloy Kore WinCoretura, the commercial-vehicle software joint venture between Volvo Group and Daimler Truck, selected Alloy Kore as the foundational software platform for its next-generation high-performance compute architecture. The planned deployment spans multiple software domains.

The win moves Alloy Kore from a strategic initiative to commercial validation. BlackBerry designed the platform with Vector middleware, common automotive services and QNX foundational software to reduce integration complexity for automakers.

BB Adds More Than $100 Million to QNX BacklogThe Coretura award is expected to contribute more than $100 million of future royalties. QNX’s royalty backlog stood at approximately $950 million at the end of fiscal 2026, giving the new contract notable scale relative to the existing base.

Backlog does not equal immediate revenue. Royalties generally depend on awarded vehicle programs reaching production, so the added value improves BlackBerry’s long-term visibility rather than providing an instant lift to reported results.

BlackBerry Can Capture More Software Value per VehicleManagement said the Alloy Kore average selling price per instance in the Coretura win is approximately three times the customer’s current QNX operating-system deployment. That supports BlackBerry’s strategy of moving higher in the automotive software stack.

The broader industry is also investing in centralized vehicle computing. NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA - Free Report) positions its Hyperion platform as a production-ready architecture for autonomous vehicles, while Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM - Free Report) offers the Snapdragon Digital Chassis as an integrated platform for software-defined vehicles. Those efforts underscore the shift toward software-heavy vehicle architectures.

BB’s Near-Term Revenue Benefit Will Be LimitedThe size of the award should not be confused with near-term revenue. Management does not expect the Coretura design win to materially change BlackBerry’s fiscal 2027 revenue profile because most royalties will be realized after vehicles enter production.

That timing makes execution important. Production schedules, program launches and customer volumes will determine the pace at which the contracted opportunity converts into QNX revenue and cash flow.

BlackBerry’s Win Broadens Its Automotive OpportunityCoretura gives BlackBerry a reference customer for Alloy Kore and supports its push to increase software content per vehicle. QNX is also benefiting from growing adoption of higher-performance centralized computing architectures and multiple QNX instances in a single vehicle.

BlackBerry said it is pursuing additional Alloy Kore opportunities with global automakers and major Tier 1 suppliers, particularly in Europe and Asia. Further wins could expand QNX’s royalty runway, but each program will still carry a lead time before production revenue becomes material.

BB’s Growth Profile Gets Support From QNXThe Alloy Kore win strengthens the long-term QNX opportunity, but it does not remove the timing risk between design wins and royalty recognition. Investors therefore have a larger contracted opportunity to monitor, not an immediate earnings contribution of the same size.

BlackBerry currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Its Growth Score of A and Momentum Score of A are favorable, while the Value Score of F points to weaker value characteristics. The VGM Score of B is constructive, but the Zacks Rank suggests a measured stance while investors track execution and backlog conversion.  You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

Key Takeaways BB ended fiscal Q2 with $447 million in cash and investments, including nearly $247 million in net cash.BB generated $28 million in quarterly free cash flow and raised its fiscal 2027 operating cash flow outlook.BlackBerry is prioritizing QNX investments, disciplined share buybacks and selective M&A to support growth. BlackBerry Limited’s (BB - Free Report) improving profitability and cash generation have strengthened its balance sheet. The company ended the second quarter of fiscal 2027 with approximately $447 million in cash and investments, representing net cash of nearly $247 million.

A stronger balance sheet reduces financial pressure while giving BlackBerry options to support its growth initiatives.

Strong Cash Generation Bolsters Financial FlexibilityBlackBerry generated $29.3 million in operating cash flow in the fiscal second quarter, above management's guidance. For the first half of fiscal 2027, operating cash flow totaled $34 million, while cash usage was $14 million in the year-ago period. Free cash flow reached $28 million in the quarter and $30 million in the first half, supported by the company's capex-light operating model.

This improvement reflects stronger operating leverage and revenue growth. Fiscal second-quarter revenues of $163.3 million rose 26% and came in 14.2% above the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Adjusted gross margin improved to 78.2% from 75% a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA increased 81% to $47 million and represented 29% of revenues.

Management also raised its fiscal 2027 operating cash flow outlook by $15 million to approximately $115 million, signaling confidence in sustained cash generation.

QNX, Buybacks and M&A in FocusBlackBerry has identified three capital allocation priorities: investing in QNX growth, disciplined share repurchases and selective M&A.

The company is prioritizing organic investments focused on QNX's core automotive business, the Alloy Kore platform and General Embedded Markets (“GEM”).

BlackBerry also retains significant capacity under its existing normal course issuer bid share repurchase program. However, management intends to evaluate buybacks against alternative investment opportunities and repurchase shares when attractive relative to other opportunities.

Meanwhile, BlackBerry is assessing potential acquisitions that could accelerate expansion into the GEM space.

Though improving cash position provides room to pursue multiple growth initiatives, the pace of acquisitions and repurchases will depend on available opportunities and management's disciplined capital allocation approach.

Cash Profile for PeersAptiv PLC (APTV - Free Report) is an automotive technology peer for BlackBerry's QNX business. At the end of the second quarter of 2026, Aptiv had $761 million in cash and cash equivalents. It generated $12 million in free cash flow during the quarter and expects full-year 2026 free cash flow of $625 million to $725 million.

Aptiv repurchased $250 million worth of shares in the quarter, bringing first-half buybacks to $325 million. On the last earnings call, management said that it intends to return approximately half of its free cash flow to shareholders through repurchases over the next few years. Meanwhile, smaller bolt-on acquisitions remain a priority to diversify operations.

Cybersecurity peer CrowdStrike Holdings (CRWD - Free Report) is also leveraging its financial strength to pursue strategic growth opportunities.

The company ended second-quarter fiscal 2027 with $5.01 billion in cash and cash equivalents. It generated operating cash flow of $530 million and free cash flow of $377 million in the quarter. CrowdStrike expects a free cash flow margin of at least 30% for fiscal 2027. Long-term debt was about $746.2 million as of July 31, 2026, leaving the company with ample financial flexibility. CrowdStrike’s capital deployment strategy includes acquiring XM Cyber's technology assets to strengthen exposure management capabilities. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of fiscal 2027.

BB Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesBlackBerry’s shares have gained 14.5% in the past month compared with the Internet-Software industry’s 8.3% growth.

Eli Lilly (LLY - Free Report) has recently been on Zacks.com's list of the most searched stocks. Therefore, you might want to consider some of the key factors that could influence the stock's performance in the near future.

Over the past month, shares of this drugmaker have returned +4.2%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +1.3% change. During this period, the Zacks Large Cap Pharmaceuticals industry, which Lilly falls in, has gained 0.3%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction?

While media releases or rumors about a substantial change in a company's business prospects usually make its stock 'trending' and lead to an immediate price change, there are always some fundamental facts that eventually dominate the buy-and-hold decision-making.

Earnings Estimate RevisionsRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection.

Lilly is expected to post earnings of $9.83 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +40%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed +0.1%.

For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $36.64 points to a change of +51.3% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed +0.3%.

For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $46.8 indicates a change of +27.7% from what Lilly is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +1.4%.

With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for Lilly.

The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate:

12 Month EPS

Projected Revenue GrowthEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial.

In the case of Lilly, the consensus sales estimate of $22.14 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +25.8%. The $88.88 billion and $102.02 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +36.4% and +14.8%, respectively.

Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryLilly reported revenues of $22.97 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +47.7%. EPS of $8.38 for the same period compares with $6.31 a year ago.

Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $20.26 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +13.38%. The EPS surprise was +39.43%.

The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters. The company topped consensus revenue estimates each time over this period.

ValuationNo investment decision can be efficient without considering a stock's valuation. Whether a stock's current price rightly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects is an essential determinant of its future price performance.

Comparing the current value of a company's valuation multiples, such as its price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), to its own historical values helps ascertain whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, whereas comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of how reasonable its stock price is.

The Zacks Value Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which pays close attention to both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics to grade stocks from A to F (an A is better than a B; a B is better than a C; and so on), is pretty helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued.

Lilly is graded D on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.

ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Lilly. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term.

Union Pacific plánuje akvizici společnosti Norfolk Southern za 85 mld. USD
UNP Union Pacific
FMP Stock News 92
Original source text
Union Pacific (UNP -0.23%) is on the precipice of a game-changing $85 billion merger with Norfolk Southern (NSC -0.04%). The deal would make Union Pacific the first transcontinental railroad in the U.S., with more than 52,000 miles of track.

The merger is not a slam dunk. It has to pass muster with the Surface Transportation Board, with a decision expected sometime next year. A coalition of labor, competitors, and farm groups opposes the merger. The concern is that the merger would create a de facto monopoly and eliminate competition. On the positive side, it could also lead to lower freight costs for shippers and reduced pollution by reducing the need for interstate trucking with single-line coast-to-coast rail service.

The stock is up more than 19% so far this year, and billionaires Chris Hohn, Ken Griffin, and Bill Gates are all among the major owners of Union Pacific through the investment firms they control. Griffin, who owns Citadel, is Union Pacific's leading shareholder, with 2,675,693 shares. Hohn, who owns TCI Fund Management, owns 4,032 shares of the railroad, and Gates, through Cascades, owns 3,435 shares of Union Pacific.

Like most railroads, Union Pacific isn't a high-profile growth stock, but it has a huge economic moat, and the merger would supercharge its potential while trimming transit times by 24 to 48 hours for more than 1 million intermodal loads annually and eliminating roughly 2.1 million truck trips per year, the company said.

Here are three reasons why the stock may make sense for retail investors, not just billionaires.

1. Steady growth, solid balance sheet In the second quarter, Union Pacific reported record numbers, including operating revenue of $6.86 billion, up 12% over the same period a year ago; net income of $2 billion, up 6% year over year; and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.41, up 13% over the same period last year.

The company raised guidance for reported EPS growth to the high single digits this year, consistent with its goals of single- to low-double-digit compound annual growth through 2027.

Because rail remains the most cost-effective way to move bulk commodities, grain, and industrial products over long distances, Union Pacific retains strong pricing power that consistently outpaces inflation.

2. An above-average dividend that is safe The industrial company raised its quarterly dividend by 2.8% this year, the 20th consecutive year it has increased it. The yield on that dividend is 2.01%, and the payout ratio is a safe 50.1%.

The dividend is well protected. Union Pacific reported six-month cash from operations of $5.5 billion, up 21%, year over year. The company has made its dividend even safer by trimming its debt-to-earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) ratio over the past three years.

3. The company already has a huge moat Its merger with Norfolk Southern would mean Union Pacific would operate in 43 states, across more than 52,000 miles of track and serving more than 100 ports. Despite the pushback against the deal, it is likely to be approved because of its benefits to U.S. supply lines, a weakness that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic. It could also cut costs and improve delivery speeds for essential items, including food.

Even if the deal doesn't go through, Union Pacific is the nation's largest freight railroad, and there's no Class I competitor in sight because of the expense and complications involved in matching its 32,000 miles of track.

The company's network connects Gulf Coast ports to the West Coast and to six leading Mexican routes. That makes it a prime beneficiary of long-term nearshoring trends and North American freight traffic. The company's strong cash flow from operations gives it ample leverage to grow, including pursuing a multibillion-dollar merger.

Lockheed Martin dodá Filipínám simulátory pro Black Hawk
LMT Lockheed Martin
FMP Stock News 90
Original source text
Key Takeaways Lockheed Martin will provide Black Hawk simulators, maintenance training and support through 2032.The deal marks the first order for LMT's S-70i Black Hawk training devices.LMT's 2026 and 2027 EPS estimates show growth of 31.7% and 8.44%, respectively. Lockheed Martin (LMT - Free Report) continues to expand its defense business beyond aircraft manufacturing, with a new contract highlighting the growing role of training and simulation solutions in military modernization.

On Oct. 8, 2026, Lockheed Martin announced that it had signed a Direct Commercial Sale contract with the Philippine Department of National Defense to provide advanced training equipment and services for the Philippine Air Force. The agreement includes an S-70i Black Hawk Full Flight Simulator, a Virtual Maintenance Trainer and associated courseware. The contract also covers sustainment and spare-parts support through 2032.

The Philippines operates Black Hawk helicopters for various missions, including search and rescue, humanitarian assistance, firefighting and troop transport. The full-flight simulator replicates the sights and sensations of flying a Black Hawk, allowing pilots to practice procedures and mission scenarios in a simulated environment. Meanwhile, the Virtual Maintenance Trainer uses detailed, physics-based models of aircraft systems, including hydraulics and avionics, to help maintenance personnel develop technical skills in a risk-free setting.

The contract is also strategically significant because it represents the first order for Lockheed Martin’s S-70i Black Hawk training devices. LMT uses digital-twin technology to replicate aircraft systems and configurations, helping maintain realistic training environments as aircraft capabilities evolve. The agreement could strengthen LMT’s position in the military training market by extending its relationship with customers beyond aircraft procurement into training, maintenance and sustainment.

LMT will continue to train Philippine Air Force Black Hawk pilots at its U.S.-based Sikorsky Training Academy while the country establishes its domestic training capability. This approach supports the transition toward localized training and maintenance operations.

Defense Companies Benefit From Military ModernizationIncreasing defense modernization requirements are creating opportunities for aerospace and defense companies across aircraft manufacturing, mission systems and training technologies. Some industry participants operating in these markets are discussed below:

RTX Corporation (RTX - Free Report) provides advanced defense systems, including missile systems, sensors and other technologies used in military operations. Its broad defense portfolio positions it to participate in modernization programs focused on improving military capabilities.

Northrop Grumman (NOC - Free Report) develops advanced defense technologies spanning aerospace systems, mission solutions and strategic deterrence. Its exposure to complex defense programs provides another example of how military modernization supports demand across the defense industry.

Tržby Broadcomu z čipů pro AI vzrostly o 221 %
AVGO Broadcom
FMP Stock News 90
Original source text
A $10,000 stake in Broadcom a decade ago grew into a life-changing sum, but the company that delivered those gains barely resembles the one investors face today. Whether AI demand can fuel another historic run depends on factors Broadcom itself…

Over the past decade, Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO | AVGO Price Prediction) shares rose 2636.4%, from a split-adjusted $13.56 to $370.95 in premarket trading. That run turned a $10,000 stake into $273,640. The forecast model’s scenarios start from a price of $377.92.

Broadcom has become one of the main suppliers of custom AI chips, so the obvious question is what $10,000 invested now could be worth by 2031.

What $10,000 Could Become by 2031 In the base case, a $10,000 investment in Broadcom could be worth roughly $16,354 by 2031, representing a total return of 63.54%. The modeled five-year share price of $618.07 implies an annualized return of 10.34%. The model’s confidence score is 0.9, which it classifies as high.

So can the last decade repeat? Even the most optimistic outcome gets a $10,000 stake to $22,730, well short of a quarter-million dollars. Broadcom’s market cap is now about $1.79 trillion, and a company that large has a much harder time compounding at the pace it managed when it was smaller.

Bull, Base and Bear Scenarios for a $10,000 Stake Scenario (2031) Target Price Total Return Value of $10,000 Bull $859.01 127.3% $22,730 Base $618.07 63.54% $16,354 Bear $449.99 19.07% $11,907 The one-year projection extends through 2027. It points to $536.52 in the bull case ($14,197), $441.06 in the base case ($11,671) and $386.76 if conditions turn unfavorable ($10,234).

AI Chip Demand Driving the Forecast AI Revenue Is Accelerating Fiscal third-quarter AI semiconductor revenue was $16.7 billion, up 221% from a year earlier. Total revenue reached $29.59B, ahead of estimates, and non-GAAP EPS of $3.32 beat the $3.24 estimate. Management guided fourth-quarter AI revenue to $21.7 billion.

It also laid out AI semiconductor revenue of roughly $115 billion in fiscal 2027 and $230 billion in fiscal 2028. On the call, Hock Tan said Broadcom is “very much on target to exceed $30 in earnings per share in fiscal 2028.”

Large AI Labs Are Committing Management expects Anthropic to become Broadcom’s largest custom accelerator customer in 2027. OpenAI’s first-generation Jalapeno chip is on track for a 1.3 gigawatt deployment that year.

Tan said “Our demand actually exceeds this outlook and we will work to improve supply.” AI networking adds a second engine: Broadcom has taped out Tomahawk 7, which it calls the industry’s first 200-terabit-per-second Ethernet switch.

Wall Street Is Firmly Bullish Analysts rate the stock 7 Strong Buy, 40 Buy and 3 Hold, with no Sell ratings. Their consensus target of $531.31 is above the model’s base case for the next year.

Shares trade at 46x trailing earnings but only 19x forward earnings, so the price already assumes much of the expected growth.

Risks That Could Shrink Your $10,000 Supply could cap growth. Management named leading-edge wafers, substrates, HBM memory, power, land and data-center shells as constraints on how fast AI capacity gets deployed.

Tan put it plainly: “It’s a multidimensional issue to get an AI data center deployed.” Each of those bottlenecks is a business for someone else, and we rounded up seven suppliers riding the same buildout in a free report on the non-chipmaker AI winners.

Concentrated customer base: A small group of AI developers drives most of the expected demand. If one of them slows its spending, revenue could fall hard. Margin pressure: Gross margin slipped to 75%, down 210 basis points from the prior quarter, because custom chips carry more memory content. Balance sheet: Broadcom carries $59.6 billion of fixed-rate debt and may provide residual value guarantees tied to financing for AI labs. Volatility: With a beta of 1.476, the stock has traded between $288.95 and $493.28 over the past 52 weeks. Trade restrictions and the chip cycle add further risk. What to Watch Before 2031 The model puts a $10,000 Broadcom stake at between $11,907 and $22,730 by 2031, with $16,354 as the central estimate. That outcome would be solid, but it falls far short of the last decade’s gain.

The next checkpoint is the fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report scheduled for December 9, which should show whether AI revenue reaches its $21.7 billion guide. None of these outcomes is guaranteed; the figures are a projection, not investment advice.

At the end of the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, cash and equivalents stood at $4.23 billion against long-term debt of $4.96 billion. Dividends paid rose to $2.63 billion in fiscal 2026 from $2.40 billion in fiscal 2025 and $2.18 billion in fiscal 2024. Share repurchases totaled $2.08 billion in fiscal 2026. The current level reflects an upward revision of 0.6% in the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter over the past 30 days.

While investors typically rely on consensus earnings and revenue estimates to gauge how the business may have fared during the quarter, examining analysts' projections for some of the company's key metrics often helps gain a deeper insight.

Devon Energy očekává čtvrtletní zisk 1,20 USD na akcii
DVN Devon Energy
FMP Stock News 72
Original source text
Devon Energy (DVN - Free Report) is one of the stocks most watched by Zacks.com visitors lately. So, it might be a good idea to review some of the factors that might affect the near-term performance of the stock.

Over the past month, shares of this oil and gas exploration company have returned -2.2%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +1.3% change. During this period, the Zacks Oil and Gas - Exploration and Production - United States industry, which Devon Energy falls in, has lost 2.6%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction?

For the current quarter, Devon Energy is expected to post earnings of $1.20 per share, indicating a change of +15.4% from the year-ago quarter. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed +5.7% over the last 30 days.

For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $5.35 points to a change of +36.5% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed +2.1%.

For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $5.28 indicates a change of -1.3% from what Devon Energy is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +4.8%.

With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for Devon Energy.

The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate:

12 Month EPS

Projected Revenue GrowthWhile earnings growth is arguably the most superior indicator of a company's financial health, nothing happens as such if a business isn't able to grow its revenues. After all, it's nearly impossible for a company to increase its earnings for an extended period without increasing its revenues. So, it's important to know a company's potential revenue growth.

In the case of Devon Energy, the consensus sales estimate of $7.3 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +68.5%. The $25.96 billion and $28.03 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +51% and +8%, respectively.

Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryDevon Energy reported revenues of $7.42 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +73.1%. EPS of $1.57 for the same period compares with $0.84 a year ago.

Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $6.3 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +17.76%. The EPS surprise was +20.77%.

Devon Energy is graded B on this front, indicating that it is trading at a discount to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.

Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Devon Energy. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term.

Rivian přidal halloweenské funkce s Ghostbusters
RIVN Rivian Automotive
FMP Stock News 82
Original source text
Electric vehicle company Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:RIVN) recently launched the new R2 SUV, the company’s cheapest model to date. The R2 and other Rivian vehicles got the spotlight for the Halloween season thanks to a collaboration with one of the most well-known supernatural movie franchises of all-time.

• Rivian Automotive stock is under selling pressure. What’s driving RIVN stock lower?

Rivian Partners with GhostbustersRivian continues its annual tradition of adding Halloween-themed features to its vehicles for owners. This year’s Halloween features center on the hit "Ghostbusters" film franchise.

Software updates include an immersive Ghostbusters experience, a scavenger hunt, lights and sounds from the films and more. The features are available for the R1S, R1T and R2 and are available from Oct. 9 through Nov. 2.

The collaboration with Sony Pictures, which is a unit of Sony Group Corp (NYSE:SONY), includes a one-off customized Ecto-1 Rivian vehicle and a commercial that features original "Ghostbusters" actor Bill Murray once again portraying the iconic role of Dr. Peter Venkman and hunting ghosts in the Rivian EV.

The commercial, which can be viewed below, also features the iconic "Ghostbusters" theme song from Ray Parker Jr.

Will the Collaboration Pay Off?When it comes to celebrity endorsements, Murray may not jump off the page as a top billing. This is, of course, less about Murray as an endorsee and more about the fun Halloween features for the Rivian vehicles.

The commercial and collaboration could show more consumers the annual tradition of Rivian adding Halloween features. While this likely isn’t a game changer or a full reason to buy the EV, it shows Rivian is focused on fun and connecting with consumers.

Rivian recently reported third-quarter deliveries of 19,248 vehicles. That figure was up from 13,201 in the prior year and also higher than the 12,194 and 10,365 vehicles delivered in the second and first quarters of this year, respectively.

The EV company expects 65,000 to 75,000 deliveries this year, which implies 23,193 to 33,193 vehicles delivered in the fourth quarter.

A "Ghostbusters" collaboration may not seem like much, but it could keep momentum going on an already strong year for Rivian.

Rivian will report third-quarter financial results Oct. 29. Analysts expect the company to report record revenue of $1.97 billion, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

The company has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in seven straight quarters and in nine of the last 10 quarters overall.

Šéf Robinhood prodal akcie za 42,6 milionu USD
HOOD Robinhood
FMP Stock News 88
Original source text
A CEO’s stockholding can fall to zero without signaling a loss of faith in his company. Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) CEO Vladimir Tenev sold $42.6 million worth of shares, leaving him with no directly held Class A stock — but the SEC filing reveals a crucial distinction between the shares he sold and the ownership he still retains.

The $42 Million SaleTenev sold 375,000 shares on Oct. 5 at a weighted-average price of approximately $113.72, according to his Form 4 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, filed Oct. 7. The transaction generated approximately $42.6 million.

The headline-grabbing detail is that Tenev’s directly held Class A share balance fell to zero following the sale. But the filing shows he still directly held 47.4 million Class B shares, along with 6,907 Class A shares held indirectly through a living trust.

That distinction matters because Robinhood has a dual-class share structure. Its Class B shares carry greater voting power than Class A shares, giving holders of the former more influence over corporate decisions relative to their economic ownership. Tenev’s sale therefore reduced his directly held Class A position without eliminating his broader stake in the company.

Read Next

The Fine Print Changes the StoryThe transaction also wasn’t an entirely new decision made on the day the shares were sold. Tenev’s Form 4 states that the sale was executed under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted on Sept. 5, 2025.

These plans allow corporate insiders to schedule stock transactions in advance under predetermined instructions, helping separate trading decisions from access to potentially material nonpublic information. They don’t automatically signal a bullish or bearish sale, but the timing and terms provide important context for investors interpreting insider activity.

Tenev’s latest transaction also follows earlier sales under the same plan, according to previous SEC filings. The pattern makes it more useful to examine the planned schedule and remaining holdings than to treat the latest sale as an isolated verdict on Robinhood’s prospects.

Read Next

What HOOD Investors Should WatchInsider selling can reflect diversification, liquidity needs or other personal financial considerations. Without further evidence, the transaction alone does not establish that Tenev expects Robinhood shares to fall. Equally, a prearranged plan does not make the sale irrelevant: investors can still track the pace of insider disposals and changes in executives’ ownership.

For HOOD shareholders, the more meaningful signals remain Robinhood’s trading activity, customer growth, product expansion and ability to generate revenue across market cycles. Tenev has converted a portion of his holdings into cash, but the filing does not show him abandoning his ownership position.

Investors should distinguish between a large headline number and a genuine change in an executive’s economic exposure before drawing conclusions about the stock.

Veeva překonala odhady a zvýšila celoroční výhled
VEEV Veeva Systems
FMP Stock News 82
Original source text
Key Takeaways Veeva Systems beat Q2 estimates, raised its fiscal 2027 outlook and advanced Vault CRM adoption.VEEV has more than 180 Vault CRM customers live, with commitments from 12 of the top 20 biopharmas.Veeva Systems' AI push is advancing, but market saturation and competition could constrain CRM growth. Veeva Systems Inc. (VEEV - Free Report) is well-poised for growth in the coming quarters, courtesy of its strong product portfolio. The optimism, led by a solid second-quarter fiscal 2027 performance and CRM migrations, is expected to contribute further. However, market saturation remains a cause for concern.

This Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company’s shares have gained 27.6% in the year-to-date period compared with 15.8% growth of the industry. The S&P 500 composite has increased 14.5% during the said time frame.

The renowned provider of cloud-based software applications and data solutions for the life sciences industry has a market capitalization of $45.74 billion. The company anticipates 35% growth for the next five years and expects to maintain its strong performance in the future. It delivered a trailing four-quarter average earnings surprise of 5.7%.

Reasons Favoring VEEV’s GrowthEnterprise CRM Migrations Expanding Account Footprint: Vault CRM adoption continued to advance in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, when Veeva Systems recorded its best CRM quarter and added two top-20 biopharma selections. Management said that Veeva Systems now has 12 of the top 20 CRM commitments, with two decisions remaining, up from 10 wins in the prior quarter.

More than 180 customers are live on Vault CRM, and one top-20 customer has enabled AI across its full field force. Commercial subscription revenues rose 13% year over year to $347.4 million, with management citing growth across CRM, content, data, Crossix and Ostro. The expanding live base supports ongoing migrations and creates opportunities to attach adjacent commercial applications as customers consolidate workflows on Vault.

Diversified Platform Driving Durable Growth:Veeva Systems’ long-term growth story is increasingly tied to its position at the center of life sciences digital transformation. The company operates across a broad set of markets spanning clinical development, quality management, regulatory operations, safety, commercial engagement and data analytics. Veeva Systems’ Development Cloud portfolio is particularly well-positioned as pharmaceutical companies seek integrated platforms that connect clinical data, trial operations, quality processes and regulatory functions within a unified ecosystem.

Growth is being fueled by newer product areas that remain in the early stages of penetration, including clinical data management, randomization and trial supply management, drug safety and laboratory information management systems. Management believes these businesses have a significant runway as customers increasingly favor end-to-end platforms over fragmented point solutions.

Strong Q2 Results: VEEV delivered better-than-expected second-quarter fiscal 2027 results, with both earnings and revenues surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate. The company also raised its full-year outlook, supported by solid execution across Commercial Solutions and R&D and Quality Solutions. Vault CRM continued to gain traction, achieving a record quarter with more than 180 customers live, including five of the top 20 biopharma companies. Two additional top 20 biopharmas and one large enterprise biopharma committed to the platform in August, bringing total top 20 commitments to 12 globally. A leading biopharma also deployed Vault CRM and Agentic Call Report across its entire U.S. field team, highlighting growing enterprise adoption.

Veeva Systems also advanced its artificial intelligence initiatives, with Veeva Falcon, its agentic labor platform for clinical, regulatory and safety functions, attracting five early adopters and remaining on track for initial go-lives in 2026. The acquisition of Copli and launch of Veeva Falcon MLR further strengthen the company's capabilities in automating content reviews. Meanwhile, Vault AI expanded its standard agent offerings and introduced advanced tools for custom agent development.

Although strong customer interest in Falcon presents a potential growth opportunity, product readiness and successful early-adopter deployments remain key near-term priorities. Overall, continued CRM adoption and AI-driven innovation could support Veeva Systems'  long-term growth, although the commercial impact of newer offerings will depend on execution and broader customer adoption.

Factor That May Offset VEEV’s GainsMarket Saturation: The life sciences industry, Veeva Systems' primary market for its CRM solutions, is facing increasing saturation as digital transformation and CRM adoption have become widespread across pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Many large enterprises have already implemented Veeva Systems' CRM software or similar solutions, leaving fewer untapped opportunities for new customer acquisition.

Additionally, as smaller biotech firms and generics manufacturers enter the market, they may seek more cost-effective or niche CRM alternatives rather than Veeva Systems' premium offerings. This saturation, combined with heightened competition from both traditional CRM providers and emerging AI-powered platforms, could limit Veeva Systems' ability to maintain its historical CRM sales growth rates.

Estimate TrendVeeva Systems is witnessing a stable estimate revision trend for fiscal 2027. In the past 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2027 earnings per share (EPS) has remained stable at $9.22.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for third-quarter fiscal 2027 revenues is pegged at $933.8 million, indicating a 15.1% improvement from the year-ago quarter’s reported number. The consensus mark for fiscal third-quarter EPS is pegged at $2.33, implying a 14.2% improvement year over year.

Photonic interconnect generates more than 1,000 quantum connections per second between a trapped ion qubit and a silicon vacancy quantum memory. That entanglement rate is fast enough to support distributed quantum computing and other use cases. COLLEGE PARK, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), the world’s leading full-stack quantum platform and foundry, today announced the achievement of entanglement rates above 1,000 per second (1 kHz) between a trapped ion qubit and a solid-state memory, through a photonic interconnect. Entanglement is the quantum connection that lets separate systems work together, and it is the essential ingredient for networking quantum computers. While the trapped ion qubit sets the standard for qubit coherence, the solid-state quantum memory has unmatched efficiency coupling to light. Their juxtaposition is the best of both worlds, demonstrating the fastest quantum interconnect rate between qubits of any platform.

“IonQ has crossed a pivotal milestone for memory enhanced quantum interconnects, achieving more than 1,000 entanglement events per second,” said Niccolo de Masi, Chairman and CEO of IonQ. “Classical data centers achieved massive scale by connecting specialized processors, memory, and networks. Quantum systems will scale in much the same way. This breakthrough addresses a critical interconnect bottleneck and advances IonQ’s roadmap to build the networked quantum data centers of the future.”

A technical paper presents results from real-world hardware testing of an end-to-end link between a trapped ion system and a silicon vacancy (SiV) qubit, building on IonQ’s SiV quantum memory platform. IonQ’s demonstration achieves rates more than four times faster than the previous record1 for trapped ions, held by IonQ co-founder Chris Monroe’s research group at Duke University, also a collaborator on the paper.

“IonQ’s efforts in quantum interconnects go back over a decade, to the founding of the company. Moving qubits through photons will be necessary in any large-scale quantum computer, and this demonstration sets the foundation for some amazing work to come,” said Monroe, Chief Scientist at IonQ and Gilhuly Family Presidential Distinguished Professor at Duke University.

“This work shows that a photonic quantum interconnect need not be a bottleneck for distributed quantum computing,” said Mihir Bhaskar, IonQ SVP and GM of Quantum Technologies at SkyWater. “Our technology can interface with almost any qubit type, so we see this unlocking a wide range of opportunities across multiple hardware modalities, from modular computing to networked sensing and beyond.”

This quantum memory and interconnect approach is also driving IonQ’s work with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) HARQ program, which seeks to develop high-speed quantum interconnects compatible with multiple computing qubit types. While this latest demonstration used trapped ion systems, the underlying architecture is expected to be compatible with multiple qubit approaches. This may include neutral atoms and superconducting systems with transducers (devices that convert microwave signals into light).

IonQ’s memory and interconnect platform is likewise ramping up commercially, with the first commercial sale to the University of Maryland announced in April, and a second system sale to SDT in South Korea, announced in September.

Additional technical details can be found in the arXiv preprint.

Key Takeaways Ciena is deploying its Waveserver platform with Openreach to expand wholesale network services across the U.K.Its WaveLogic 6 combines 400G & 800G traffic, enabling national 800G services and future speed upgrades.AI, cloud adoption, online content and subsea traffic drive demand. Ciena Corporation (CIEN - Free Report) is strengthening its position in the optical networking market as rising demand for high-capacity connectivity drives investments in digital infrastructure. Its latest deployment with Openreach, a major U.K. telecommunications network provider, highlights an opportunity to capitalize on growing bandwidth requirements across data centers, telecommunications networks and international subsea connections.

Openreach is deploying Ciena’s Waveserver platform, powered by WaveLogic 6 (WL6) 1.6Tb/s coherent technology, as part of its Optical Spectrum Extended Access (OSEA) portfolio. The solution will enable Openreach to offer wholesale customers tailored, high-capacity network services across the U.K., including connectivity for cable landing stations, data centers and core network nodes. The deployment combines 400G and 800G client traffic over dedicated 1.6Tb/s wavelengths, with a compact 2RU chassis supporting up to 32 400G services. It enables Openreach to introduce national 800G services while providing a pathway to even higher speeds as bandwidth requirements increase. These capabilities could strengthen demand for Ciena’s optical networking solutions as network operators seek to transfer larger volumes of data efficiently.

As AI applications increase the need for high-bandwidth connections between data centers and other network endpoints, Ciena’s optical technology can help network operators accommodate rising traffic while scaling capacity to meet evolving requirements. Beyond AI, growing online content consumption, cloud adoption and international subsea traffic provide additional demand drivers. These applications broaden the potential market for Ciena’s solutions and underscore the importance of upgrading optical networks.

Despite favorable industry trends, Ciena faces competition from other optical networking vendors like Corning Incorporated (GLW - Free Report) and Nokia (NOK - Free Report) , targeting telecommunications operators and data center customers.

CIEN’s Market Position Faces Competitive PressureGLW entered the second half of 2026 with its growth outlook tied to AI infrastructure and optical connectivity. Corning is also expanding its GenAI optical portfolio with multicore fiber and high-density connectivity solutions that improve network capacity and reduce installation complexity. It announced a long-term partnership with NVIDIA to expand U.S.-based optical connectivity manufacturing capacity by 10 times and increase domestic fiber production capacity by more than 50%. In September, Corning secured a multi-year, multibillion-dollar Verizon deal to supply more than 80 million miles of optical fiber through 2032, boosting revenue visibility and exposure to broadband and AI infrastructure demand.

NOK continues to benefit from its broad portfolio spanning mobile networks, optical transport, IP routing, fixed broadband, software and services. Network Infrastructure delivered double-digit growth in second-quarter 2026, supported by continued momentum in Optical Networks and IP Networks. The planned divestiture of the Fixed Wireless Access CPE business simplifies the portfolio and allows greater investment in higher-growth opportunities such as AI networking and optical technologies. NOK is also expanding U.S. optical manufacturing capacity through investments in San Jose, PA and the planned acquisition of an additional semiconductor manufacturing site in Arizona. Management noted that supply constraints persist in optical networking, supporting long-term customer orders.

Comcast má Zacks Rank 4 kvůli klesajícím odhadům zisku
CCZ Comcast
FMP Stock News 78
Original source text
Comcast (CMCSA - Free Report) has been one of the most searched-for stocks on Zacks.com lately. So, you might want to look at some of the facts that could shape the stock's performance in the near term.

Over the past month, shares of this cable provider have returned -15.7%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +1.3% change. During this period, the Zacks Cable Television industry, which Comcast falls in, has lost 19.7%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction?

Comcast is expected to post earnings of $0.98 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of -12.5%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed -4.1%.

The consensus earnings estimate of $3.49 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of -19%. This estimate has changed -0.8% over the last 30 days.

For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $3.61 indicates a change of +3.6% from what Comcast is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed -2.2%.

With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) for Comcast.

In the case of Comcast, the consensus sales estimate of $29.35 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of -5.9%. The $120.18 billion and $117.59 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of -2.9% and -2.2%, respectively.

Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryComcast reported revenues of $29.94 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of -1.2%. EPS of $1.04 for the same period compares with $1.25 a year ago.

Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $29.18 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +2.62%. The EPS surprise was +7.22%.

Comcast is graded A on this front, indicating that it is trading at a discount to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.

ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Comcast. However, its Zacks Rank #4 does suggest that it may underperform the broader market in the near term.

Citi zvýšila cílovou cenu společnosti CRISPR Therapeutics na 88 USD
CRSP Crispr Therapeutics
FMP Stock News 92
Original source text
It's been a disappointing past few years for patient shareholders of CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP +4.87%). Despite the company passing multiple major milestones during this stretch, this biopharma/biotechnology stock's gone nowhere since falling back from its early 2021 peak.

Namely, in late 2023, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved CRISPR's Casgevy as a treatment for sickle cell disease, making it one of the nation's very first gene-editing-based therapies approved for any use. Patient uptake began shortly thereafter.

Analysts aren't deterred though, including Citi's Yigal Nochomovitz, who recently raised his price target on CRSPR from $82 to $88 per share on growing demand for the aforementioned Casgevy. That's 60% above the stock's present price.

The thing is, what needs to happen to pump this stock's price up to that lofty level is certainly possible. Here's a closer look.

It's in the name CRISPR Therapeutics' claim to fame -- as well as its drug pipeline and portfolio -- is rooted in the ability to repair damaged DNA by replacing it with a correct sequence of genetic information -- a discovery for which co-founder Emmanuelle Charpentier was awarded a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2020.

The underlying science is in the name, in fact. CRISPR -- an acronym for "clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats" -- is a genetic sequence that can be identified and then spliced into by an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease protein called Cas9, allowing for the replacement of faulty genetic code in a strand of DNA.

Although the company's initial target was the relatively low-hanging fruit of sickle cell disease, the idea holds promise as a treatment for any number of genetics-driven disease. To this end, the company is working on several other therapies.

Right now, however, the market's pricing CRSPR shares based on a relatively small but important number of inputs.

Three things that must go right for Citi's CRISPR Therapeutics price target It's not all that matters, to be clear. But, for the time being anyway, investors are expectantly looking at these three factors.

1. Reported Casgevy revenue must be satisfactory CRISPR Therapeutics hasn't reported much Casgevy revenue yet, but it is accruing. It's just going to take time for it to make it to the company's top line in earnest. That's because Casgevy treatments are complex, and it can take a long while to administer and complete a treatment regimen.

Indeed, since each patient's treatment is custom-created from a sample of their own blood, it can take up to a year to deliver the final dosing administered at an authorized treatment center operated by CRISPR Therapeutics' treatment partner, Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX +0.82%). Never even mind the length of time it might take an insurer to authorize the $2.2 million cost per Casgevy treatment. And even beyond that, any payments and insurance reimbursements are first processed by Vertex, which takes a cut.

Meaningful revenue is coming, though. In its second-quarter investor update posted in early August, CRISPR Therapeutics confirmed that the custom-created drug generated $76 million in total revenue over three months, a chunk of which is eventually headed to CRISPR's actual top line.

The exact amounts and time frames are still in question; both are moving targets. For what it's worth, though, the analyst community is looking for this year's collaboration and grant-led top line of $40.8 million to soar to $156.6 million next year, once Casgevy is finally driving real, tangible revenue for the company. Anything that puts the company anywhere on track for anything near that projected 2027 number will be just fine.

2. Encouraging progress from CTX310 Casgevy isn't the only drug under CRISPR's umbrella, even if it's the only one approved and on the market right now. CTX340 is a promising answer to refractory hypertension, for instance, while CTX460 showed efficacy as a potential treatment for problematic liver proteins, a condition known as alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, or AATD.

Perhaps the one drug currently in the company's developmental pipeline with the potential to really move the needle, though, is CTX310, for the treatment of the cardiovascular disease linked to liver-made proteins that help regulate blood lipid levels. Using the same gene-editing science that helped create Casgevy, CRISPR Therapeutics hopes the treatment will help reduce patients' genetically high cholesterol.

Although no specific update date has been set, CRISPR reported in August that it expects to post an update of CTX310's phase 1 clinical trials currently underway sometime before the end of the year. Given the obvious need for such a treatment (the global lipid-lowering drug market will be worth nearly $50 billion per year by 2035, according to Precedence Research), encouraging developmental progress on this front could help drive shares toward Citi's recently raised price target.

3. Proving a drug like zugo-cel can work Finally, while an update on CTX310's progress could help make or break CRSPR stock in the foreseeable future, it's not the only drug in CRISPR Therapeutics' pipeline with the potential to spark bullish interest in this ticker. A chimeric antigen receptor T-cell-based investigational cancer therapy called zugocabtagene geleucel -- or Zugo-cel, for short (formerly CTX112) -- is a prospective game changer for the company as well. Just not for the reason you might think.

While effective oncology drugs' value is clear, that's not what makes zugo-cel so interesting. Rather, what merits attention here is the fact that this therapy is an allogeneic treatment. That just means while it's technically a gene-editing drug, it doesn't require a patient-specific sample to create a custom-built therapy. It simply needs a healthy starting sample from anyone to turn into a medicine that can be administered to everyone. This simpler process costs dramatically less to utilize than Casgevy's patient-specific treatment approach.

It's not just for cancer either. Although the company's using zugo-cel to address hematologic malignancies, it may hold even more promise as a treatment for a range of autoimmune diseases, including lupus, anemia, and systemic sclerosis.

The resulting upshot for the stock will largely depend on how well the market understands this allogeneic gene therapy approach is more flexible and cost-effective than Casgevy's ex-vivo approach that requires the extraction of a specific patient's stem cells.

Conagra snížila dividendu na polovinu kvůli poklesu objemu prodejů
CAG ConAgra Foods
FMP Stock News 96

Conagra already cut its dividend in half and shares have lost nearly 60% over five years, yet income investors keep buying the yield. Whether that payout survives comes down to a single metric that management admits is still moving in…

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

Conagra Brands (NYSE:CAG | CAG Price Prediction) has already cut its dividend in half. Shares trade at $13.57 as of Thursday’s close, down 27.47% over the past year. Income investors now have to decide whether the smaller payout sits on solid ground or whether the pressure that forced the first cut is still building. A high yield only holds up as long as the company can keep paying it, and Conagra’s ability to keep paying depends on one thing: getting volume growing again.

Here’s a simple dividend safety check: A payout is sustainable when earnings and free cash flow cover it well and the company isn’t borrowing to fund it.

A Halved Payout That Still Screens as High Yield The quarterly dividend fell from 35 cents to 17.5 cents starting with the July 30 ex-dividend date. The latest declaration kept it at that level. That works out to a forward annual payout of 70 cents, or a forward yield of about 5.28% at today’s price. Stock screeners show something different. The trailing yield is 9.29%, based on $1.225 in trailing payments, and much of that money came at the old rate. Anyone shopping by trailing yield is looking at a payout that no longer exists.

The appeal is easy to see. Conagra owns familiar brands like Birds Eye, Duncan Hines, Healthy Choice, Marie Callender’s, Reddi-wip and Slim Jim, and its dividend history runs back to 1999 in the records.

Why the Yield Rose: A Falling Share Price Did the Work The quarterly payout held at 35 cents from mid-2023 through April 2026, so the yield climbed because the stock kept falling: $18.22 on Oct. 1, 2025, $17.19 on Dec. 19, 2025, $15.62 on April 1 and $14.01 on Sept. 30. Shares have lost 11.07% in the past month alone and 59.76% over five years. The slide was sharp enough to trigger a $968 million non-cash goodwill and brand impairment in fiscal Q2 2026.

Coverage Looks Fine in Earnings and Weak in Cash Conagra is an ordinary corporate, so adjusted EPS is the right measure of coverage. On that basis, the new 70-cent payout uses about 47% to 50% of fiscal 2027 adjusted EPS guidance of $1.40 to $1.50. The old rate would have used 93% to 100%, which explains why it was cut. Guidance itself is falling, down from roughly $1.70 in fiscal 2026. GAAP results look worse, with trailing diluted EPS at -$4.06 after impairments.

Cash flow is lighter. In fiscal Q1 2027, operating cash flow was negative $4.2 million and free cash flow was negative $127.9 million after $123.7 million of CapEx. Cash on hand fell 46.77% to $371.6M. Management says seasonal inventory builds use up cash in the first half.

Even so, the reduced dividend costs about $334 million a year. That has to come out of the same cash that pays about $360M in interest, about $550M in capex and roughly $250 million in planned debt paydown. Conagra also bought back $44 million of stock in the quarter.

Leverage Is What Forced the First Cut Net leverage ended the quarter at 3.99x, and management expects about four times at fiscal year end against a three times target. On the call, management said it is “maniacally focused on getting there as soon as possible.” Total liabilities stand at $11.30 billion, while shareholders’ equity fell 28.16% to $6.4 billion. Near-term maturities look manageable. Debt is “pretty much 100% fixed,” and a $500 million note issued in July at 5.4% pre-funded maturing bonds.

Volume Is the One Thing That Has to Turn Around Organic volume fell 2.1% in Q1. Revenue has now declined for four straight quarters: -5.8%, -6.8%, -1.9% and -1.4%. Guidance projects organic net sales to change by -3% to -1% this year, with Q2 expected at -2%. Inflation is running toward the higher end of the 5% to 6% range, and transportation costs have effectively doubled versus plan. Conagra is raising prices to offset that, but it models two-to-one elasticity in frozen, which means every price increase costs volume. Lower volume spreads fixed plant costs over fewer units, and margins shrink. Operating income already fell 22.74%, and Q2 operating margin is guided to the higher-single-digit range versus 11.5% in Q1.

What Has to Go Right for the Payout to Hold The bull case starts with earnings. Q1 adjusted EPS of 41 cents beat the 28.15-cent estimate. Ardent Mills equity earnings rose 71.8% to $50 million, and Foodservice grew 3.2%. The beat has asterisks, though.

About 3 cents came from SG&A timing and one-time items, Ardent’s trading gains are hard to forecast, and most SKU reduction savings won’t arrive until fiscal 28. Staples companies with long dividend records usually protect the payout by cutting elsewhere first, and Conagra still has room to pause buybacks or trim capex before touching the dividend again. For the payout to hold, cost savings and tariff relief have to restore margins, and volume has to stabilize. Analysts remain cautious: 10 Hold ratings, three Sell ratings and two Strong Sell ratings, with a $14.32 average target.

1 Signal That Settles the Question Fiscal year-end net leverage needs attention against the roughly 4.0x guide. If volume keeps falling and leverage finishes above that level despite second-half cash inflows, coverage of even the reduced dividend starts to look thin. A double-digit trailing yield on a stock that just halved its payout is the classic setup, and we listed the indicators that confirm a cut is coming in a free dividend traps report.

Conagra’s shareholders have already seen that a dividend cut rarely saves the share price. The remaining 5.28% yield needs to be judged on volume, cash flow and leverage. A yield by itself doesn’t justify a purchase.

Key Takeaways ONTO's backlog surged to $1.1B in Q2 2026, improving visibility into future demand.Management raised second-half 2026 revenue growth guidance to more than 25% over the first half.Dragonfly orders topped $200M from one OSAT partner, while silicon photonics orders exceeded $50M. Onto Innovation Inc. (ONTO - Free Report) is positioning itself for another strong growth year as rising AI infrastructure spending fuels demand for advanced semiconductor packaging and process control solutions. ONTO’s backlog has more than doubled, rising from nearly $500 million reported after the fourth quarter of 2025 to $1.1 billion in the second quarter of 2026, reflecting stronger customer commitments and improved visibility into future demand.

Management attributed the increase to customers placing orders earlier than historically typical to secure equipment supplies for their expansion plans. ONTO expected to deliver 60–70% of the backlog in the remainder of 2026, with the balance covering 2027. Customers are placing orders earlier to secure capacity for multi-year expansion plans, especially in advanced packaging where visibility has historically been shorter. Management raised its second-half 2026 revenue outlook to growth of more than 25% over the first half compared with the prior expectation of 15%.

Discussions with customers remain constructive for 2027 and volume purchase agreement negotiations are beginning for that year. This combination of broader end-market exposure, longer order visibility and rising customer commitments supports a more durable growth profile and provides a clearer base for capacity planning decisions. ONTO’s Dragonfly inspection business is driven by 2.5D packaging and HBM demand, prompting management to raise its 2026 advanced packaging growth outlook to approximately 80%. The company secured more than $200 million in Dragonfly orders from a single OSAT partner, mostly for 2027 delivery.

Adoption of the Atlas G6 platform and more than $50 million in silicon photonics orders, alongside a potential served market exceeding $500 million by 2030, provide additional growth opportunities. With Dragonfly G5 gaining traction, advanced packaging demand accelerating and new opportunities emerging in silicon photonics, ONTO expects its growth momentum to extend into 2027.

Intensifying Rivalry Tests ONTO’s Growth PotentialKLA Corporation (KLAC - Free Report) is well-positioned to outperform as AI infrastructure spending broadens demand for process control across leading-edge logic, memory and advanced packaging. KLA now expects 2026 wafer fabrication equipment spending in the low-$150 billion range, up from $135-$140 billion at its March Investor Day. Management has discussed a roughly $190 billion scenario for 2027 and expects growth at least comparable with 2026. Backlog exceeded $12 billion in August, supporting shipment visibility through 2027 and, in some cases, early 2028. KLA’s differentiated portfolio, operating leverage and capital-return framework support long-term earnings growth.

Applied Materials (AMAT - Free Report) is receiving longer planning signals from customers as advanced semiconductor supply remains tight. Its largest customers are providing rolling eight-quarter forecasts, and some discussions now extend to 2030. AMAT has nearly doubled manufacturing space over the past several years and plans to double quarterly system output from current levels by 2028. It added more than 1,500 manufacturing and AGS support employees in the fiscal third quarter and is planning further capacity for demand through 2030. This visibility can improve supply-chain readiness and execution across customer ramps. It now expects advanced packaging revenue to grow more than 70% in 2026, up from its prior outlook of more than 50%.

ONTO Price Performance, Valuation and EstimatesONTO’s shares have soared 141.2% in the past year compared with the Zacks Nanotechnology industry’s growth of 149%. The Zacks Computer and Technology sector and the S&P 500 composite have risen 32.1% and 21.3%, respectively, in the period.
