Neurocrine Biosciences (NBIX) Is Up 6.46% in One Week: What You Should Know
NBIX Neurocrine Biosciences
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Momentum investing is all about the idea of following a stock's recent trend, which can be in either direction. In the "long context," investors will essentially be "buying high, but hoping to sell even higher." And for investors following this methodology, taking advantage of trends in a stock's price is key; once a stock establishes a course, it is more than likely to continue moving in that direction. The goal is that once a stock heads down a fixed path, it will lead to timely and profitable trades.

Even though momentum is a popular stock characteristic, it can be tough to define. Debate surrounding which are the best and worst metrics to focus on is lengthy, but the Zacks Momentum Style Score, part of the Zacks Style Scores, helps address this issue for us.

Below, we take a look at Neurocrine Biosciences (NBIX - Free Report) , which currently has a Momentum Style Score of A. We also discuss some of the main drivers of the Momentum Style Score, like price change and earnings estimate revisions.

It's also important to note that Style Scores work as a complement to the Zacks Rank, our stock rating system that has an impressive track record of outperformance. Neurocrine Biosciences currently has a Zacks Rank of #1 (Strong Buy). Our research shows that stocks rated Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) and #2 (Buy) and Style Scores of "A or B" outperform the market over the following one-month period.

You can see the current list of Zacks #1 Rank Stocks here >>>

Set to Beat the Market? In order to see if NBIX is a promising momentum pick, let's examine some Momentum Style elements to see if this biopharmaceutical company holds up.

Looking at a stock's short-term price activity is a great way to gauge if it has momentum, since this can reflect both the current interest in a stock and if buyers or sellers have the upper hand at the moment. It is also useful to compare a security to its industry, as this can help investors pinpoint the top companies in a particular area.

For NBIX, shares are up 6.46% over the past week while the Zacks Medical - Drugs industry is up 0.55% over the same time period. Shares are looking quite well from a longer time frame too, as the monthly price change of 8.84% compares favorably with the industry's 0.36% performance as well.

While any stock can see a spike in price, it takes a real winner to consistently outperform the market. Over the past quarter, shares of Neurocrine Biosciences have risen 28.75%, and are up 31.67% in the last year. In comparison, the S&P 500 has only moved 14.95% and 21.93%, respectively.

Investors should also pay attention to NBIX's average 20-day trading volume. Volume is a useful item in many ways, and the 20-day average establishes a good price-to-volume baseline; a rising stock with above average volume is generally a bullish sign, whereas a declining stock on above average volume is typically bearish. NBIX is currently averaging 1,182,979 shares for the last 20 days.

Earnings OutlookThe Zacks Momentum Style Score encompasses many things, including estimate revisions and a stock's price movement. Investors should note that earnings estimates are also significant to the Zacks Rank, and a nice path here can be promising. We have recently been noticing this with NBIX.

Over the past two months, 7 earnings estimates moved higher compared to none lower for the full year. These revisions helped boost NBIX's consensus estimate, increasing from $8.04 to $9.47 in the past 60 days. Looking at the next fiscal year, 6 estimates have moved upwards while there have been no downward revisions in the same time period.

Bottom LineGiven these factors, it shouldn't be surprising that NBIX is a #1 (Strong Buy) stock and boasts a Momentum Score of A. If you're looking for a fresh pick that's set to soar in the near-term, make sure to keep Neurocrine Biosciences on your short list.

Weyerhaeuser's Scrappiness Will Lead To Large Free Cash Flow
WY Weyerhaeuser
FMP Stock News

Weyerhaeuser (WY) is priced at an extreme discount at roughly 66% of net asset value (NAV). This is likely due to the market correctly seeing the challenging conditions in both timber and lumber. However, the market could be underestimating natural market forces that restore equilibrium. As the vertical adjusts, WY’s position as the market share and margin leader should result in substantial EBITDA growth which will make WY’s free cash flow oversized relative to the market price. As earnings improve, I think WY will trade up toward NAV for about 50% upside.

Specifically, this article will examine:

Factors making timber and lumber businesses challenging. Mechanisms of equilibrium restoration – curtailments, utilization, consolidation. Margin and market share gains Incremental sources of EBITDA Valuation by assets and earnings Fair value Challenged industry conditions

The margin difficulties of the lumber vertical are not immediately apparent looking at lumber prices.

tradingeconomics

$631 is low compared to the extreme lumber prices of 2021 and 2022, but still reasonably fine compared to pre-pandemic levels. Adjusting for inflation, lumber prices are fairly normal presently.

So why are mills struggling right now?

The low profitability of the wood products vertical in recent years has come from a mismatch of supply and demand. Supply had ramped up to meet the demand spike of 2021- 2022.

Building of single family homes was the largest driver as these are primarily wooden structures, but there was also outsized building of apartments and all kinds of CRE. Thus, the image below of the decline in housing starts only captures a portion of the demand drop off.

FRED

As of 1Q26, housing starts are low by historical standards, but not that low. Perhaps somewhere around the 40th percentile. The bigger damage, in my opinion, is in other CRE.

Office construction is nearly zero. Most large offices are big boxes of metal and glass so they are not often considered drivers of lumber, but the interiors use a variety of wood products.

Apartment construction dropped off substantially since 2024. Apartments use more wood than office, but less than single family homes.

Repair and remodel demand for wood products is stimulated by housing turnover. Owners will fix up their homes before selling in an attempt to get a better price. Sales of existing homes have been sluggish since 2023.

tradingeconomics

So while lumber pricing is decent, sales volume is weakened by low CRE construction, low existing home sales and the somewhat low homebuilding activity.

This shows up in the receipts.

FRED

Adjusted for inflation, net sales receipts of wood products are dismal.

In addition to weak quantity demanded, the supply situation has not been helpful. Production capacity ramped up to try to meet the demand of 2021-2022 and it has taken a while to come back down.

Equilibrium restoring mechanisms.

Milling capacity operates with a lag. It takes as much as a few years to open new mills or shut down existing mills. Note how capacity continued to climb in 2023 and 2024.

University of Georgia

This is clearly lagged capacity intending to capitalize on the extreme demand of 2022. The demand did not last as long as industry participants expected, so this extra capacity came online at a time when profitability was already low and supply was already too high.

There are essentially 2 levers through which overall capacity changes:

Utilization of existing mills Construction and curtailment of mills Marginal cost curves suggest there is a sweet spot for utilization. If utilization goes too high, marginal cost of production rises because crews have to work overnight shifts or overtime pay. At too low utilization, marginal cost per unit is high because the overhead of the capital expense of the mill is divided over too few units.

It was worth it for mills to pay overtime in 2022 because lumber prices were so high. Thus a certain portion of the extra supply was related to high mill utilization. Since then, mill utilization has dropped.

According to a University of Georgia field report,

“U.S. softwood lumber mill utilization rates declined from 81% in Q2 2021 to 78% in Q2 2025”

I was unable to locate utilization data for 2026, but all indications are that it has continued to drop. Utilization has dropped to a point where it becomes very inefficient to lower it further. Marginal costs have already increased due to low utilization and it gets worse if they produce less.

Utilization declines have moved to or near their limit. It was not enough, so lower profitability mills have been forced to close.

In a 2025 Weyerhaeuser article we compiled a list of mill closures/curtailments

2MC

More closures have followed. Forisk tabulates the 2026 closures below.

Forisk

Notably, many of these are in Canada. Canada’s lumber production is far too large for domestic use with these producers largely relying on exports, especially to the U.S.

Thus, the combination of duties and tariffs is materially hurting profit margins of Canadian mills resulting in substantial curtailments.

With less lumber imported into the U.S., our sawmills get to service a higher portion of demand. However, that is a longer term tailwind while low demand in the immediate term has forced many lower margin mills to shut down or reduce production.

As more and more mills close, supply and demand equilibrium will be restored. Closure will continue until such a point that sawmills can generate a normal economic profit. Therefore, one of the following must happen:

Demand will pick back up Mills will continue to close That is just how economic equilibrium works and with the substantial curtailments already in place, I believe we are in the 8th inning of equilibrium restoration.

In the bouncing around of supply and demand 3 significant changes have occurred:

Consolidation within the vertical Market share is shifting to larger producers Market share is shifting to lower cost producers To see the consolidation, one can simply look at the public markets. Today’s Rayonier (RYN) is a consolidation of 4 public companies:

Potlatch Deltic Catchmark Rayonier (the persisting name and ticker) Weyerhaeuser previously bought Plum Creek.

What were 6 good-sized companies have become 2 enormous companies.

Attrition of the weak

2023 through 2026 has been an extended period of minimal and sometimes negative margins for wood products companies. The weak have died off while the strong captured market share.

Weyerhaeuser, in my opinion, is the biggest beneficiary. WY has the highest operating margin in the space.

WY

For reference the companies they are comparing themselves to are Canfor, Interfor, Louisiana Pacific, Boise Cascade and West Fraser.

The higher margins come from a few sources:

Vertical integration with their timberlands feeding their sawmills A continuous focus on operating efficiency Scale Market access – WY is a major supplier of logs to Japan from their Pacific northwest timberland and mills, and one of few to ship out of the Gulf due to proximity to key ports. As equilibrium returns WY will have a healthy profit margin on a substantially higher market share.

Timing of full equilibrium restoration

If demand picks back up in some combination of housing starts, repair and remodel, and CRE construction, higher margins could happen very quickly.

If the restoration is more through supply curtailments it will take a bit longer. Either way, the forward trajectory is positive. While waiting for the industry headwinds to cycle into tailwinds, WY is not sitting idly. At REITweek, WY announced a plan to increase annual EBITDA by $1B even at flat lumber and wood products pricing.

1B incremental EBITDA plan

The slide below breaks down the intended components of EBITDA growth.

WY

To put this into perspective, $1B is $1.38 per share which is quite a bit of growth for a stock trading at $24.79.

Lets examine some of these buckets to get a sense for how likely this growth is to manifest.

Strategic land solutions Owning millions of acres of land comes with benefits in that certain subsets of that land become valuable, often in unanticipated ways. I am not referring to the regular HBU land sales that have been a part of the timber REIT business for decades. Rather there are some bulkier opportunities.

WY is actively exploring sale of land to data centers, or power companies that would use the land to build power infrastructure for data centers. Such sales would be at lucrative premiums to the value of the land as timberland.

Additionally, WY’s 100 million dollar CCS contract with Occidental is getting closer to completion.

I think it is likely we will see growth in this bucket by 2030, but the magnitude will vary.

Timberland and wood products One of the struggles of timberland lately has been that the demand for pulp seems to be permanently impaired due to digital replacing a large portion of paper use. Indeed the demand for pulp has declined markedly in recent years.

University of Georgia

A potential substitute demand for pulp is biocarbon. Traditional wood pellets have been around for a while but their limitation is that they primarily work in facilities designed to buy biocarbon. WY is working with Aymium on a denser wood pellet that can substitute for metallurgical coal. This would expand the use to coal plants and manufacturing facilities.

My hunch is that coal is cheaper than this proprietary wood product where coal is legal, but in areas such as Europe where carbon is heavily taxed/regulated the carbon neutral wood pellet could serve as a great replacement to keep the factories running where they would otherwise have to close. At REITweek WY’s CEO, Devin Stockfish guided to 7 million tons:

“It's part of our 2030 growth program to build out up to 7 million tons of production or 7 million tons of fiber usage, which would convert into 1.5 million tons of biocarbon to sell to steel, silicon manufacturers. There's a lot going on globally, particularly in Europe and Japan, where they're putting new taxes on carbon-intensive industries.”

Such alternative uses are great strategically as pulp would otherwise be very low value due to dwindling pulp prices down almost 50% from 10 years ago.

TimberMart-South

Arguably the largest single source of incremental EBITDA will be TimberStrand which is a high quality wood product made from lower quality sawlogs. The economics on it look strong with an anticipated 20% EBITDA yield.

Devin Stockfish discussed the TimberStrand manufacturing facility economics at REITweek:

“It's a $500 million investment. When that mill comes online, we expect that to generate over $100 million annually of EBITDA.”

Overall, I think the $1B EBITDA growth plan is ambitious, but possible. Some of the buckets are more certain than others. I think $500 million is easily achievable with the rest requiring certain things to play out the right way.

The Value Proposition

I think WY is demonstrably undervalued from both an earnings perspective and an asset value perspective.

WY has averaged $2.15B annual EBITDA over the past 7 years. It was lumpy due to the cyclicality described earlier.

S&P Global Market Intelligence

With an Enterprise value of $23B, WY is trading at about 10.69X cycle adjusted EBITDA.

That is a cheap multiple.

I think the market is not using a cycle adjusted multiple and instead assuming the challenging timber/lumber macro environment is a permanent condition. Thus, the market might be looking at 2026 EBITDA estimates of $1.14B. That would mean they are trading at 20X EBITDA.

If WY can achieve its $1B incremental EBITDA growth that brings the base EBITDA north of $2B, even if the difficult environment remains. $2B base EBITDA with upside from either lumber price increase or volume increase would make WY far too cheap at $23B enterprise value.

A 10X-12 EBITDA multiple might be normal for some business categories, but it is wildly cheap for an asset class like timberland where a substantial portion of return comes from land value appreciation.

As land appreciates, that gain does not show up in the earnings or EBITDA. It is a real gain of value, but often remains unrealized. As a result, appreciation based asset classes usually trade at far higher EBITDA multiples.

The anomaly at the moment is that timberland currently trades at far higher multiples. Private timberland values have been rising steadily with average value per acre up to $2,300 at the end of 2025.

Forisk

These are actual transactions.

You can even observe it in WY’s asset sales.

S&P Global Market Intelligence

3 dispositions total $598 million for 222,000 acres. That equates to $2,693 per acre.

This was not HBU or some special event. These were sold to private timberland investors. Further, this was among WY’s lower quality land.

Devin Stockfish at REITweek:

“It's not just about the number of acres, it's about the quality of those acres, and we've really been focused over the last several years on selling off the lower-performing assets and redeploying that capital into higher-performing assets.”

His comments check out in the numbers. These acres were lower productivity and margin.

WY has 9.740 million owned acres in the U.S.

If we multiply that by the sale price per acre of their non-core land that would be timberland value of $26.229 billion.

That already is more than WY’s EV of $23.129B.

The land alone justifies the entirety of WY’s EV, but they also have billions of dollars of other assets:

Sawmills 0.649 million controlled acres (not included in owned acres) EWP, OSB, TimberStrand, and other manufacturing facilities These things are hard to value, but the cost basis is enormous. The single TimberStrand facility cost $500 million. Sawmills can be around that range too.

Adding up all the assets, net asset value is clearly much higher than EV.

The current Wall Street consensus estimate for NAV is$37.22 implying that WY trades at 66% of NAV.

S&P Global Market Intelligence

Either the private equity buying timberland is consistently wrong to be buying it well north of $2k per acre or WY is deeply undervalued.

The valuation dislocation will eventually close. It is just a matter of direction. The private timberland investors might suffer if the doomsayers are right that the lumber industry is permanently impaired. However, if you are like me and believe that free market economics has a tendency to return to equilibrium, then WY is deeply undervalued.

It is not often that a long tenured, well managed, investment grade, large cap company trades at 66% of asset value. The market is extrapolating the downside of a cyclical business while I think a business that has always been cyclical will continue to be cyclical.

We are long WY and buying more while it trades at such an extreme discount.

ROIC in the trailing 12 months was 8.7%, better than the industry average of 5.7%. This reflects WRB’s efficiency in utilizing funds to generate income.

Factors Acting in Favor of WRB StockW. R. Berkley continues to benefit from disciplined underwriting and prudent risk selection. The company remains focused on expanding its commercial lines, including excess and surplus lines, admitted lines and specialty personal lines, where it has a competitive advantage. Continued pricing discipline and effective risk selection should support underwriting profitability over the long term.

W. R. Berkley continues to benefit from its diversified specialty insurance platform and attractive niche market opportunities. Growth in its insurance business, supported by several new startup units across varied business lines, should drive premium growth and offset a more competitive pricing environment. Backed by its strong track record, the company’s international business is expected to post healthy premium growth and long-term earnings.

Net investment income has been witnessing improvement over the last few years, as evident from the CAGR of 9.8% over the last eight years (2018-2025). Record net invested assets and higher new money rates on a growing fixed maturity portfolio, along with strong operating cash flows, are driving net investment income. Higher investment fund income arising from the transportation and financial services-related sectors should also add to the upside.

W.R. Berkley maintains a solid balance sheet with sufficient liquidity and strong cash flows. As of March 31, 2026, the company had cash and cash equivalents of nearly $2.3 billion. A strong capital position helps W.R. Berkley in wealth distribution via share repurchases, special dividends and dividend hikes that enhance shareholders’ value. The 11.1% quarterly dividend hike announced in June 2026 marks an increase every year since 2005. Its dividend yield of 0.5% is higher than the industry average of 0.3%, making it an attractive pick for yield-seeking investors.

Risks for WRBWRB’s expanding international operations expose it to increased political, legal, regulatory and economic risks, including foreign currency and credit risk, which could have an adverse effect on its results of operations and financial condition.

Intense competition across the insurance and reinsurance markets remains a key headwind. It can affect the profitability of existing and new businesses. This intense competition could cause the supply and demand for insurance or reinsurance to change.

ConclusionThe property and casualty insurer is set to grow on underwriting discipline, premium growth, diversification benefits, momentum in international business, higher investment income and consistent cash flow. Favorable estimates, higher ROC and dividend history are other positives.

Given the premium valuation, stiff competition and exposure to foreign currency and credit risk, it is better to stay cautious about this Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) stock. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

ARK Invest scoops up $75M in crypto shares during June, with $44M flowing into Coinbase
ARK ARK
CoinGecko News
Original source text
While plenty of investors spent June nervously watching screens, Cathie Wood was shopping. ARK Invest purchased cryptocurrency-related shares during the month, with approximately $44 million of that going into Coinbase — though this aggregate figure remains unconfirmed by the underlying trade disclosures.

Inside the buying spree ARK’s daily trade disclosures paint a picture of methodical accumulation rather than a single dramatic move. In mid-June, the firm scooped up approximately 111,799 shares of Coinbase worth around $18.4 million.

Then, on June 25-26, ARK went back for seconds. The firm added another 77,380 Coinbase shares valued at roughly $11.5 million across those two trading days.

Earlier in the month, smaller transactions had already started the buying campaign. Those included a purchase of 30,763 shares, with various trades during that stretch valued between $6.7 million and $10.2 million.

Coinbase wasn’t the only target either. ARK also added to its position in Circle, the company behind the USDC stablecoin that trades under the ticker CRCL. Across all crypto-related names, ARK added approximately $43 million within just a span of three trading days alone.

The Cathie Wood playbook ARK has historically maintained a sizeable position in Coinbase, treating the exchange as a core bet on crypto infrastructure. The firm has adjusted its Coinbase position during volatile stretches before, sometimes trimming during rallies and adding during sell-offs. June’s activity fits neatly into that pattern.

ARK first established a significant position in Coinbase around its direct listing in 2021 and has continued to show commitment to the company through various market fluctuations in 2025 and 2026.

What this means for investors ARK’s daily trade transparency, which is relatively unusual among active managers, means that every purchase becomes a public statement of conviction.

The Circle position also deserves attention. Stablecoin infrastructure has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the digital asset economy, and Circle’s public listing gave traditional investors a direct way to gain exposure. ARK adding to that name alongside Coinbase suggests the firm is constructing a broader portfolio thesis around crypto financial infrastructure.

Emcor Group (EME) Upgraded to Strong Buy: Here's Why
EME EMCOR Group
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Emcor Group (EME - Free Report) appears an attractive pick, as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). An upward trend in earnings estimates -- one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices -- has triggered this rating change.

The sole determinant of the Zacks rating is a company's changing earnings picture. The Zacks Consensus Estimate -- the consensus of EPS estimates from the sell-side analysts covering the stock -- for the current and following years is tracked by the system.

Individual investors often find it hard to make decisions based on rating upgrades by Wall Street analysts, since these are mostly driven by subjective factors that are hard to see and measure in real time. In these situations, the Zacks rating system comes in handy because of the power of a changing earnings picture in determining near-term stock price movements.

Therefore, the Zacks rating upgrade for Emcor Group basically reflects positivity about its earnings outlook that could translate into buying pressure and an increase in its stock price.

Most Powerful Force Impacting Stock PricesThe change in a company's future earnings potential, as reflected in earnings estimate revisions, and the near-term price movement of its stock are proven to be strongly correlated. That's partly because of the influence of institutional investors that use earnings and earnings estimates for calculating the fair value of a company's shares. An increase or decrease in earnings estimates in their valuation models simply results in higher or lower fair value for a stock, and institutional investors typically buy or sell it. Their bulk investment action then leads to price movement for the stock.

Fundamentally speaking, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade for Emcor Group imply an improvement in the company's underlying business. Investors should show their appreciation for this improving business trend by pushing the stock higher.

Harnessing the Power of Earnings Estimate RevisionsEmpirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock movements, so it could be truly rewarding if such revisions are tracked for making an investment decision. Here is where the tried-and-tested Zacks Rank stock-rating system plays an important role, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions.

The Zacks Rank stock-rating system, which uses four factors related to earnings estimates to classify stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), has an impressive externally-audited track record, with Zacks Rank #1 stocks generating an average annual return of +25% since 1988. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>> .

Earnings Estimate Revisions for Emcor GroupFor the fiscal year ending December 2026, this construction and maintenance company is expected to earn $29.37 per share, which is unchanged compared with the year-ago reported number.

Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for Emcor Group. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 4%.

Bottom LineUnlike the overly optimistic Wall Street analysts whose rating systems tend to be weighted toward favorable recommendations, the Zacks rating system maintains an equal proportion of "buy" and "sell" ratings for its entire universe of more than 4,000 stocks at any point in time. Irrespective of market conditions, only the top 5% of the Zacks-covered stocks get a "Strong Buy" rating and the next 15% get a "Buy" rating. So, the placement of a stock in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks indicates its superior earnings estimate revision feature, making it a solid candidate for producing market-beating returns in the near term.

You can learn more about the Zacks Rank here >>>

The upgrade of Emcor Group to a Zacks Rank #1 positions it in the top 5% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term.

Is the Options Market Predicting a Spike in Fidelity National Financial Stock?
FNF Fidelity National Financial
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors in Fidelity National Financial, Inc. (FNF - Free Report) need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the July 17, 2026 $30.00 Call had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today.

What is Implied Volatility?Implied volatility shows how much movement the market is expecting in the future. Options with high levels of implied volatility suggest that investors in the underlying stocks are expecting a big move in one direction or the other. It could also mean there is an event coming up soon that may cause a big rally or a huge sell off. However, implied volatility is only one piece of the puzzle when putting together an options trading strategy.

What do the Analysts Think?Clearly, options traders are pricing in a big move for Fidelity National Financial share, but what is the fundamental picture for the company? Currently, Fidelity National Financial is a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell) in the Insurance - Multi line Industry that ranks in the Top 43% of our Zacks Industry Rank. Over the last 60 days, no analyst has increased his estimate for the current quarter, while one has revised his estimate downward. The net effect has taken our Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current quarter to move from $1.47 per share to $1.40 per share in the same time period.

Given the way analysts feel about Fidelity National Financial right now, this huge implied volatility could mean there’s a trade developing. Often times, options traders look for options with high levels of implied volatility to sell premium. This is a strategy many seasoned traders use because it captures decay. At expiration, the hope for these traders is that the underlying stock does not move as much as originally expected.

Can HCA's Gene Therapy Milestone Drive Long-Term Growth?
HCA HCA Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways HCA Healthcare published the first pediatric study of exa-cel for severe blood disorders in young children.HCA is expanding access to FDA-approved gene-editing therapies through specialized pediatric programs.HCA Healthcare continues investing in research and specialty care alongside 4.3% first-quarter revenue growth. HCA Healthcare, Inc. (HCA - Free Report) is expanding its presence in advanced medicine after researchers from its Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program published encouraging findings in The New England Journal of Medicine. The study found that the CRISPR gene-editing therapy, exa-cel, successfully treated children aged 5 to 11 with severe sickle cell disease and transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia. It is the first published clinical study of the therapy in this young patient group.

The study delivered encouraging results. All eligible children with beta thalassemia became transfusion-independent for at least 12 months. Children with sickle cell disease remained free of severe pain crises over the same period. The findings suggest that treating these inherited blood disorders earlier in life could help prevent years of disease-related complications. HCA is now expanding access to FDA-approved gene-editing therapies through specialized pediatric programs across its network.

The announcement supports HCA's broader strategy of combining clinical care with medical research. During its first-quarter 2026 earnings call, management highlighted continued investment in the HCA Healthcare Research Institute and the Sarah Cannon Research Institute to expand specialized care, improve patient outcomes and advance clinical research. Backed by first-quarter revenues of $19.1 billion, up 4.3% year over year, HCA continues investing in advanced treatment programs while maintaining solid operational performance.

The study is unlikely to have a material impact on HCA's near-term earnings. However, it reinforces the company's growing role in advanced specialty care and highlights the strength of its clinical research platform. Expanding access to complex gene-editing therapies could further strengthen HCA's position in advanced specialty care, enhance its research capabilities, and support long-term growth as demand for innovative treatments continues to rise.

HCA’s Stock Price PerformanceShares of HCA Healthcare have gained 3.1% over the past 12 months compared with the industry’s 9.6% growth.

Cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin Down 33% at Mid-Year 2026
GBTC Grayscale Bitcoin Trust
FMP Stock News

This weekly update tracks some of the largest cryptocurrencies by market share: Bitcoin and Ether. While both are considered high-risk assets, they possess foundational differences that investors should understand. We have also included XRP, as it was one of the largest cryptocurrencies when this series began. By definition, a cryptocurrency is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses cryptography to secure its transactions, control the creation of additional units, and verify the transfer of assets.

Key Takeaways Bitcoin dropped to its lowest level since September 2024 this week. Ether fell to its lowest level since April 2025 this week. Bitcoin is down approximately 33% year-to-date, while Ether has fallen roughly 47% year-to-date. Bitcoin Bitcoin was the world’s first decentralized digital currency. Since the first Bitcoin transaction occurred in early 2009, it has grown worldwide to a mainstream financial asset. While often volatile, as illustrated in the chart below, one can argue that the asset is highly resilient. Learn more about Bitcoin basics for new investors.

Bitcoin’s struggles continued this week as it reached its lowest level since September 2024. BTC is currently down approximately 33% midway through the year and sits about 53% below its October 2025 record high.

Ether Ether is the native cryptocurrency run on the Ethereum blockchain platform, which launched in July 2015. It has the second largest market share, despite being the newest of the three assets discussed in this article.

Mirroring Bitcoin’s movement, Ether’s closing price retreated again this week to its lowest level since April 2025. ETH is currently down approximately 47% halfway through the year and is now roughly 68% below its record close from August 2025.

XRP XRP, which is owned by Ripple, was launched in 2012 and was one of the larger cryptocurrencies for some time until newer tokens entered the market.

Bitcoin vs. Ether vs. XRP An index has been created in order to chart these three cryptocurrencies together, considering their significantly different pricing histories. A logarithmic scale is used on the y-axis of this chart to better illustrate relative percentage changes and long-term growth trends, as opposed to absolute price fluctuations. The chart demonstrates which cryptocurrency’s price has shifted the most since November 9, 2017. At various points in history, all three have held the top spot but Bitcoin is currently in the lead.

The Ensign Group (ENSG) Shares Fall Amid Activist Forensic Reports Challenging Patient Care Claims, Legal Compliance -- HBSS
ENSG The Ensign Group
FMP Stock News
Original source text
, /PRNewswire/ -- The Ensign Group (NASDAQ: ENSG) investors saw the price of their shares in the skilled nursing facilities ("SNFs") provider tumble over 8% on June 8 and another 3% on June 11, 2026 after Hunterbrook Media and Muddy Waters Research, respectively, published highly critical reports questioning Ensign's business practices.

In total, over $500 million of Ensign's market capitalization has been wiped out since June 7, 2026, the day before the first of the two reports.

These developments have prompted national shareholder rights firm Hagens Berman to open an investigation into allegations within the two reports and whether Ensign may have violated the federal securities laws.

The Ensign Group (ENSG) Investigation:

The investigation is primarily focused on the propriety of Ensign's disclosures about SNF acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and certain accounting matters.

In the past, Ensign repeatedly assured investors that "compliance and quality outcomes are precursors to outstanding financial performance" and "we strive to aggressively increase quality in every facility we acquire, and to adjust our overall policies to adapt to CMS's changing criteria for the Five-Star Quality Rating System."

But, on June 8, 2026, Hunterbrook published its report, contending in part that "Ensign's profits can be traced to providing less care than its patients need – and less care than it is meant to provide based on the tax dollars it receives from the government." In addition, the firm said that "[w]e found Ensign's growth strategy is to buy struggling nursing homes – then cut staff at those facilities and bank the savings, all while claiming quality improves."

Then, on June 11, 2026, Muddy Waters Research published its report, adding to Hunterbrook's analysis. Muddy Waters sent investigators to 57 of Ensign's SNFs and found "red flags consistent with rented" NHA licenses that enabled "Ensign to state the facilities have licensed Administrators when in fact these administrators are seldom on premise and do not substantively manage the facilities."

The firm concluded that "this scheme, which could amount to fraud against states, Medicare, and Medicaid, is the pillar upon which Ensign's acquisition strategy and margins is built[]" and "[u]nder the False Claims Act, if these practices have been in place for one year at ~20% of facilities, we estimate the violations carry theoretical sanctions in the billions of dollars."

"Our investigation is focused on whether the analysts' allegations are accurate and, if so, whether Ensign may have misled investors about its business practices and accounting," said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm's investigation.

Today's drop provides a great buying opportunity Unsurprisingly, shares of Constellation are selling off today with Citigroup's lowered expectations. Savvy investors, however, recognize that times like these offer great buying opportunities. Nothing has fundamentally changed for Constellation, a nuclear energy producer that's helping power much-needed data centers.

For investors seeking nuclear energy exposure from an established company that's consistently profitable -- rather than next-generation nuclear reactor developers -- Constellation stock is a smart consideration.

      (2)   Defendants simultaneously disseminated overly positive statements while concealing material adverse facts concerning the true state of the Company’s ARR growth environment;
      (3)   Defendants knew or recklessly disregarded that the Company’s ARR growth guidance failed to properly account for critical variables, including the type of sales driving ARR performance; and
      (4)   as a result, Defendants’ statements about the Company’s business, operations, and prospects lacked a reasonable basis and were materially false and misleading at all relevant times.

Deadline Alert: Commvault Systems Inc. (CVLT) Shareholders Who Lost Money Urged To Contact Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP About Securities Fraud Lawsuit
CVLT CommVault Systems
FMP Stock News
Original source text
LOS ANGELES, July 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP reminds investors of the upcoming July 17, 2026 deadline to file a lead plaintiff motion in the class action filed on behalf of investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Commvault Systems Inc. (“Commvault” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: CVLT) securities between April 29, 2025 and January 26, 2026, inclusive (the “Class Period”).

IF YOU SUFFERED A LOSS ON YOUR COMMVAULT INVESTMENTS, CLICK HERE TO INQUIRE ABOUT POTENTIALLY PURSUING CLAIMS TO RECOVER YOUR LOSS UNDER THE FEDERAL SECURITIES LAWS.

What Happened?
On January 27, 2026, Commvault published third quarter 2026 fiscal results, including annualized recurring revenue (“ARR”) of 22% and a total net new ARR was $39 million, falling short of the prior quarter’s guidance for $45 million of net new ARR for the quarter. Management revealed in the accompanying earnings call that the variation was due to product mix, including increased SaaS deals in the quarter.

On this news, Commvault’s stock price fell $40.23, or 31.1%, to close at $89.13 per share on January 27, 2026, thereby injuring investors.

What Is The Lawsuit About?
The complaint filed in this class action alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements, as well as failed to disclose material adverse facts about the Company’s business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, Defendants failed to disclose to investors that: (1) Commvault knew or recklessly disregarded the impact that different types of sales would have on its ARR growth; (2) the variation in net ARR growth is strongly based on the type of sale Commvault is making, thus, the Company’s projected net new ARR should not have been determined without properly factoring in sale type; and (3) as a result, Defendants’ positive statements about the Company’s business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis at all relevant times.

If you purchased or otherwise acquired Commvault securities during the Class Period, you may move the Court no later than July 17, 2026 to request appointment as lead plaintiff in this putative class action lawsuit.

Constellation Brands' Q1 Earnings Beat, Sales Top on Beer Strength
STZ Constellation Brands
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Constellation Brands beat Q1 earnings and sales estimates despite a 3% decline in net sales.Beer sales rose nearly 2% on shipment growth and pricing, with Pacifico and Victoria depletions up.STZ raised its FY27 reported EPS outlook and still expects $2.4B-$2.5B in operating cash flow. Constellation Brands, Inc. (STZ - Free Report) reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results, wherein the top and bottom lines surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate. The company’s sales declined year over year, but earnings improved from the year-ago period.

The fiscal first quarter reflected steady execution across Constellation Brands’ core businesses, with earnings benefiting from improved profitability, disciplined cost management and continued strength in the beer portfolio. The Beer business remained a key driver, supported by shipment growth, favorable pricing and strong share gains across tracked U.S. channels, even as some flagship brands faced softer depletion trends. The Wine and Spirits business continued to reflect the impact of portfolio divestitures, but its remaining brands delivered organic growth and outperformed the broader category.

Comparable earnings per share (EPS) of $3.43 rose 7% year over year in the fiscal first quarter and surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.22. On a reported basis, the company’s EPS was $3.79 compared with $3.43 reported in the year-earlier quarter.

Net sales declined 3% year over year to $2.433 billion but surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.404 billion. Organic net sales increased 3% year over year.

STZ’s Q1 Performance DetailsConstellation Brands' sales for the beer business jumped nearly 2% year over year to $2.28 billion, backed by a rise of 1.8% in shipment volumes and favorable pricing. Depletions fell 0.3% as declines for Modelo Especial of just 2% and Corona Extra of about 5% were more than offset by increases from Pacifico, Victoria and the Modelo Chelada brands of nearly 21%, 14% and 6%, respectively.

Sales in the wine and spirits segment plunged 47% year over year to $149.2 million in the fiscal first quarter. The decline mainly reflected a 64.1% drop in shipment volumes tied to the 2025 Wine Divestitures.

On an organic basis, wine and spirits net sales rose 8%. Organic shipments increased 7.7%, while depletions grew 6.6%, led by gains of approximately 4% for Kim Crawford and 62% for Mi CAMPO Tequila. The wine and spirits portfolio outpaced the total wine and spirits category in both dollar and volume sales across Circana U.S. tracked channels.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company's beer, and wine and spirits segments is currently pegged at $2.27 billion and $149 million, respectively.

Peeking Into Constellation Brands’ MarginsSTZ's comparable operating income came in at $834.2 million, up 6% year over year. Reported operating income rose 18% to $845.3 million, while reported operating margin expanded 630 basis points (bps).

Operating income for the beer segment rose 2% year over year to $891.4 million. The segment operating margin was 39%, nearly flat year over year, as shipment volume growth and favorable pricing were offset by unfavorable mix and higher marketing and other SG&A spending.

The wine and spirits segment reported an operating loss of $1.1 million, as compared to the loss of $6 million in the year-ago quarter.

STZ’s Financial Position Seems StrongAs of March 31, 2026, Constellation Brands’ cash and cash equivalents were $96.6 million, long-term debt (excluding current maturities) was $9 billion and total shareholders’ equity (excluding non-controlling interest) was $8.5 billion. The company generated an operating cash flow of $662 million and an adjusted free cash flow of $485 million in fiscal 2026.

STZ’s board announced a quarterly dividend of $1.03 per share for Class A shares on June 30, 2026. The dividend is payable on Aug. 13 to its shareholders of record as of July 30, 2026.

The company returned more than $400 million to its shareholders through share repurchases and dividends. It repurchased $324 million of shares year to date through June 2026.

Constellation Brands still forecasts an operating cash flow of $2.4-$2.5 billion for fiscal 2027. It expects free cash flow of $1.6-$1.7 billion. STZ plans to incur capital expenditures of $800 million in fiscal 2027.

Constellation Brands’ FY27 ExpectationsLooking forward, Constellation Brands updated its fiscal 2027 reported EPS outlook to $11.50-$12.20, up from the previous estimate of $11.10-$11.80. The company expects comparable EPS of $11.20-$11.90 for fiscal 2027 compared with $11.82 earned in fiscal 2026.

Enterprise and wine & spirits growth (decline) net sales assumptions for fiscal 2027 exclude $142 million for the March 1, 2025, to June 1, 2025, period. These are no longer part of the year-over-year results following the 2025 Wine Divestitures.

STZ projects enterprise organic net sales growth (decline) of (1)%-1%, beer net sales growth (decline) of (1)%-1%, and wine & spirits business organic net sales growth (decline) of (1)%-1%. Enterprise operating margin on a reported and comparable basis is projected to be 32-33%, with beer operating margin of 37-38% and wine & spirits operating margin of 5-6%.

Shares of this Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company have lost 1.5% in the past six months against the industry’s growth of 17.1%.

Post Holdings, Inc. (POST - Free Report) highlighted continued improvement in cereal category trends compared with the prior year. Category volume declined 3% in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, while the decline moderated to 2.5% in April, indicating that demand is gradually recovering. Although category performance remains below pre-pandemic levels, management stated that category trends have continued to improve compared with a year ago.

Post Holdings expects year-over-year cereal volume performance to improve in the second half of the year as the impact of the Oreo O’s licensing agreement rolls off. In addition, the company noted that the U.K. cereal category has returned to a relatively flat trend, which management views as a historically normal demand environment and a more supportive backdrop for future volume performance.

POST also expressed confidence in the strength of its portfolio despite continuing assortment changes in the second quarter, particularly within the food channel. The company remained focused on optimizing promotional spending, resulting in slightly lower promotional activity compared with the prior year. Despite this disciplined approach, Post Holdings was the only large player to maintain a flat dollar market share year over year, reflecting continued stability in its portfolio.

Implied Volatility Surging for Tyler Technologies Stock Options
TYL Tyler Technologies
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors in Tyler Technologies, Inc. (TYL - Free Report) need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the Sept. 18, 2026 $230.00 Call had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today.

What is Implied Volatility?Implied volatility shows how much movement the market is expecting in the future. Options with high levels of implied volatility suggest that investors in the underlying stocks are expecting a big move in one direction or the other. It could also mean there is an event coming up soon that may cause a big rally or a huge sell-off. However, implied volatility is only one piece of the puzzle when putting together an options trading strategy.

What do the Analysts Think?Clearly, options traders are pricing in a big move for Tyler Technologies shares, but what is the fundamental picture for the company? Currently, Tyler Technologies is a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) in the Internet - Software and Services industry that ranks in the Top 31% of our Zacks Industry Rank. Over the last 60 days, five analysts have increased their earnings estimates for the current quarter, while none have dropped their estimates. The net effect has taken our Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current quarter from $3.22 per share to $3.33 in that period.

Given the way analysts feel about Tyler Technologies right now, this huge implied volatility could mean there’s a trade developing. Oftentimes, options traders look for options with high levels of implied volatility to sell premium. This is a strategy many seasoned traders use because it captures decay. At expiration, the hope for these traders is that the underlying stock does not move as much as originally expected.

Super Micro Computer Is a Massive Catalyst for Meta Platforms
SMCI Super Micro Computer
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ:SMCI | SMCI Price Prediction) is back in every AI headline this week after rocketing 14.94% in five sessions and 15.66% in a single day, dragging momentum traders back into the thinnest-margin trade in the AI complex.

But here is what you should actually be watching.

The SMCI Setup Is Breaking Strip away the bounce and the picture is grim. SMCI missed Q3 FY2026 revenue consensus by 17.75%, posting $10.24 billion against a $12.30 billion guide, with preliminary, unaudited numbers tied to an ongoing board independent review of export-control matters. Cash burn hit $6.6 billion in operations during Q3. Total bank debt and convertible notes ballooned to $8.8 billion, up from $4.9 billion a quarter earlier, while total liabilities surged 264.22% year over year.

This is the worst possible balance sheet for a higher-for-longer rate regime. SMCI is a 9.9% gross margin hardware assembler funding a Blackwell ramp on credit. CEO Charles Liang and a 10% shareholder each disposed of 340,000 shares on May 26, 2026. Wall Street is unimpressed: the consensus rating skews to 10 holds against 5 buys, with an average target of $37.25. Shares are down 21.76% over the past year. The pop is a trade. The trend is a warning.

Why Meta Looks Like the Stronger AI Expression The smarter expression of the same AI thesis sits inside Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META), trading at $563.85 after a 14.43% year-to-date pullback. Three reasons the setup looks asymmetric for long-term investors to research.

1. You are paying less for a vastly better business. SMCI trades at 22 times trailing earnings on an 11.06% gross margin. Meta trades at 20 times earnings on an 81.99% gross margin and a 41% operating margin. Custom data flags Meta as a digital monopoly trading at just 19 times forward earnings. Investors are literally paying more for the reseller than the platform.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Meta didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

2. Capital costs hurt SMCI and fund Meta. Meta’s debt/equity ratio of 0.39 and 71.5x interest coverage make rates irrelevant. The company generated $115.8 billion in operating cash flow in FY2025 and raised its FY2026 capex guide to $125 billion to $145 billion, paid entirely from internal cash. Q1 FY2026 delivered EPS of $10.44 against a $6.66 estimate, a 56.79% beat and the fifth consecutive EPS beat.

3. Pricing power is real and measurable. Last quarter Meta posted ad impressions up 19% year over year alongside price per ad up 12%, with the family of apps reaching 3.56 billion daily active people. That is volume and price expanding together. Dyne Therapeutics vs. Vertex Pharmaceuticals: Which Drug Innovator Stock Is a Better Buy in 2026?
VERX Vertex
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Choosing between a high-growth clinical-stage player and an established industry titan can be difficult for investors. This comparison examines Dyne Therapeutics (DYN 1.24%) and Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX +0.22%) to help you determine the better buy.

Dyne focuses on delivering targeted nucleic acid medicines to muscle tissue using its proprietary delivery platform. Vertex is the global leader in cystic fibrosis treatment and is now diversifying its pipeline into new areas like acute pain and sickle cell disease. Both companies operate in the high-stakes world of biotechnology but represent different levels of corporate maturity.

The case for Dyne TherapeuticsDyne Therapeutics is a clinical-stage company among biotech stocks that aims to treat rare, genetically driven diseases through its proprietary FORCE platform. It is currently developing therapies for conditions like Duchenne muscular dystrophy and myotonic dystrophy type 1, which have high unmet medical needs. Because the company is still in the development phase, it currently has no commercial customers and relies on external capital to fund its research.

In FY 2025, Dyne had no revenue because the company is still testing its lead drug candidates and has no products on the market. This lack of sales resulted in a net loss of $446.2 million for the year. This loss was wider than the $317.4 million net loss reported in the prior fiscal year, largely due to higher clinical trial and laboratory costs.

The current debt-to-equity ratio stands at approximately 0.2x. A current ratio measures a company's ability to pay short-term obligations, indicating its liquidity strength to fund future trials. Free cash flow was negative at approximately $405.1 million in FY 2025.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is a powerhouse in the medical sector, known for its dominant position in cystic fibrosis treatments. Its product portfolio includes blockbuster drugs that are distributed primarily through a limited number of specialty pharmacies and wholesalers. Beyond its core niche, the company is actively diversifying into new therapeutic areas, such as acute pain and type 1 diabetes, to ensure long-term growth.

In FY 2025, revenue reached $12 billion, representing a year-over-year increase of nearly 10%. The company reported net income of nearly $4 billion, resulting in a net margin of approximately 32.7%. Net margin indicates how much of every dollar in revenue actually becomes profit after all expenses, and the company's P/S ratio, which compares its stock price to its total sales, reflects its market standing.

Its current debt-to-equity ratio is approximately 0.1x. This ratio compares total debt to shareholder equity, and a lower number indicates a conservative approach to borrowing. Free cash flow for FY 2025 was close to $3.2 billion. Free cash flow is the cash a company generates after accounting for the money spent to maintain or expand its asset base.

Risk profile comparisonFinancial sustainability remains a primary concern for Dyne Therapeutics, given the company’s history of significant operating losses. It depends on a loan agreement with Hercules Capital that includes strict financial covenants, which could restrict its operations if its cash reserves fall too low. Additionally, its drug candidates are in early clinical stages, which means there is a high risk of failure to demonstrate safety or efficacy during trials.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals faces significant revenue concentration because its business is heavily dependent on its cystic fibrosis portfolio. Any safety issues or new competition from large peers such as AbbVie Inc. (ABBV 0.19%) could materially harm its financial results. The company also deals with global pricing pressures from government cost-containment efforts and ongoing intellectual property litigation involving ToolGen related to gene-editing technology.

Valuation comparisonVertex Pharmaceuticals trades at a premium reflecting its profitability, while Dyne Therapeutics has no sales or earnings expected in 2026 to base ratios on.

Which stock would I buy in 2026?These are two companies at different stages of their pharmaceutical life.

Dyne Therapeutics may not have revenue, but its $3.7 billion market cap is a sign of investors’ faith in the business. Dyne is preparing its first product for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to enter the market in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with its second product, DM1, planned for a year later.

Long-term revenue projections are inherently more speculative, but analysts see Dyne making $53 million in sales in 2027 and $277 million in 2028, and reaching well over $1 billion in 2030. That’s a great outlook.

Vertex, meanwhile, is building on its dominant position in cystic fibrosis treatment, investing heavily in research and development. In just a few years, Vertex has expanded its CF drug treatments so it now could treat 95% of all CF patients in the U.S. Approvals in other markets are coming through, which means the market for its existing drugs continues to expand. The company is also deep in trials for a drug to treat conditions that lead to renal failure, a new market for Vertex. The U.S. has accelerated approval for povetacicept in IgA nephropathy, a treatment that would be a blockbuster ($1 billion-plus in lifetime sales) if approved.

Dyne is a very promising company that looks on track to generate revenue next year. But Vertex continues to be a fast grower, with Wall Street seeing sales grow more than $1 billion this year to over $13 billion, with nearly $4.5 billion net income. With an expanding market, heavy R&D, and a decent price-to-forward earnings ratio, Vertex gets the nod.

Price Prediction: We're Bearish on Bloom Energy and See Shares Falling
BE Bloom Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

I’m taking a cautious stance on Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) after one of the most extraordinary 12-month runs in the entire industrials sector. The fuel cell maker has become the purest public-market proxy for the “bring-your-own-power” trade tied to AI data center buildouts, and the stock has responded accordingly. My job here is to separate the durable business from the momentum.

Based on our proprietary model, the 24/7 Wall St. price target for Bloom Energy is $216.91, implying roughly 21.13% downside from the current quote of $275.01. Our recommendation is sell with a confidence level of 90%.

24/7 Wall St. Price Target Summary Metric Value Current Price $275.01 24/7 Wall St. Price Target $216.91 Upside/Downside -21.13% Recommendation SELL Confidence Level 90% Why We Could Be Wrong Bloom is one of the most divisive names in the market, and real upside could come from a faster ramp of the $5 billion Brookfield AI infrastructure partnership or another hyperscaler win on the scale of Oracle. Our 24/7 Wall St. price target is one datapoint among many. A detailed bull case appears below.

From $22 to $275 in 12 Months BE has returned 1,139.9% over the past year and 216.5% year to date, but the past week told a different story with a 20.48% drawdown off a 52-week high of $351.28.

Fundamentals remain strong: Q1 2026 revenue hit $751.054 million, up 130.37% year over year, with non-GAAP EPS of $0.44 versus the $0.1285 consensus. Management raised FY2026 revenue guidance to $3.40B to $3.80B. A June 19 tariff-reset framework also lifted shares, and BE was flagged as a somewhat-bullish mover by recent news coverage.

The Case for $300+ Bulls have plenty to work with. The product backlog stands at $6 billion with total backlog at $20 billion. CEO KR Sridhar said “Bring-your-own-power has shifted from a slogan to a business necessity for AI hyperscalers”.

PineBridge sees datacenter equipment growth “essentially locked in for the next four to five years” at roughly 25% annually. Our bull scenario points to a peak of $318.87 by May 2027.

The Risks Worth Watching The bear case is anchored in valuation. BE trades at a Price/Sales ratio of 29x and an EV/EBITDA of 640x. Insider selling has been heavy, with Director John Chambers selling 55,000 shares at $297.69 on May 28.

To be fair, CEO Sridhar acquired 80,000 shares via RSU conversion, and customer concentration with Brookfield partly reflects the scale of active deployments. Reddit sentiment also flipped from bullish (78) to bearish (28) in 48 hours. Our bear case lands at $157.65.

What Would Change Our View The setup turns more attractive near $200 if Q2 2026 confirms gross margins approaching 34% and a new hyperscaler contract lands. The risk/reward looks unfavorable while the stock trades above $260 at a forward multiple north of 100x. The 24/7 Wall St. price target of $216.91 with 90% confidence reflects a stock that has front-loaded years of growth.

Year 24/7 Wall St. Price Target 2026 $216.91 2027 $209.84 2028 $195.00 2029 $171.57 2030 $187.00 These projections assume Bloom continues converting backlog into shipments at current margins. Significant upside could come from new hyperscaler wins, while a slowdown in AI capex or tax credit changes would push results toward our bear path of $129.49 by 2031.

PECO vs. FRT: Which Stock Is the Better Value Option?
PECO Phillips Edison & Co
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors looking for stocks in the REIT and Equity Trust - Retail sector might want to consider either Phillips Edison & Company, Inc. (PECO - Free Report) or Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT - Free Report) . But which of these two stocks is more attractive to value investors? We'll need to take a closer look to find out.

Everyone has their own methods for finding great value opportunities, but our model includes pairing an impressive grade in the Value category of our Style Scores system with a strong Zacks Rank. The proven Zacks Rank puts an emphasis on earnings estimates and estimate revisions, while our Style Scores work to identify stocks with specific traits.

Phillips Edison & Company, Inc. has a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy), while Federal Realty Investment Trust has a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold) right now. The Zacks Rank favors stocks that have recently seen positive revisions to their earnings estimates, so investors should rest assured that PECO has an improving earnings outlook. But this is just one piece of the puzzle for value investors.

Value investors are also interested in a number of tried-and-true valuation metrics that help show when a company is undervalued at its current share price levels.

Our Value category highlights undervalued companies by looking at a variety of key metrics, including the popular P/E ratio, as well as the P/S ratio, earnings yield, cash flow per share, and a variety of other fundamentals that have been used by value investors for years.

PECO currently has a forward P/E ratio of 15.07, while FRT has a forward P/E of 16.42. We also note that PECO has a PEG ratio of 2.22. This metric is used similarly to the famous P/E ratio, but the PEG ratio also takes into account the stock's expected earnings growth rate. FRT currently has a PEG ratio of 2.94.

Another notable valuation metric for PECO is its P/B ratio of 2.03. The P/B ratio is used to compare a stock's market value with its book value, which is defined as total assets minus total liabilities. For comparison, FRT has a P/B of 3.31.

These metrics, and several others, help PECO earn a Value grade of B, while FRT has been given a Value grade of C.

PECO has seen stronger estimate revision activity and sports more attractive valuation metrics than FRT, so it seems like value investors will conclude that PECO is the superior option right now.

Phillips Edison & Company (PECO) Upgraded to Buy: Here's Why
PECO Phillips Edison & Co
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Phillips Edison & Company, Inc. (PECO - Free Report) appears an attractive pick, as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). This upgrade primarily reflects an upward trend in earnings estimates, which is one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices.

The Zacks rating relies solely on a company's changing earnings picture. It tracks EPS estimates for the current and following years from the sell-side analysts covering the stock through a consensus measure -- the Zacks Consensus Estimate.

As such, the Zacks rating upgrade for Phillips Edison & Company is essentially a positive comment on its earnings outlook that could have a favorable impact on its stock price.

Most Powerful Force Impacting Stock PricesThe change in a company's future earnings potential, as reflected in earnings estimate revisions, has proven to be strongly correlated with the near-term price movement of its stock. That's partly because of the influence of institutional investors that use earnings and earnings estimates for calculating the fair value of a company's shares. An increase or decrease in earnings estimates in their valuation models simply results in higher or lower fair value for a stock, and institutional investors typically buy or sell it. Their transaction of large amounts of shares then leads to price movement for the stock.

For Phillips Edison & Company, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade fundamentally mean an improvement in the company's underlying business. And investors' appreciation of this improving business trend should push the stock higher.

Earnings Estimate Revisions for Phillips Edison & CompanyFor the fiscal year ending December 2026, this company is expected to earn $2.76 per share, which is unchanged compared with the year-ago reported number.

Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for Phillips Edison & Company. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 0.9%.

The upgrade of Phillips Edison & Company to a Zacks Rank #2 positions it in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term.

Why Axsome Stock Has Doubled In Nine Months
AXSM Axsome Therapeutics
FMP Stock News
Original source text
In this week’s edition of InnovationRx, we look at Axsome’s growing pipeline, HistoSonics innovative cancer treatment, state litigation over Medicaid work requirements, and more. To get it in your inbox, subscribe here.

Axsome's Herriot Tabuteau

Jamel Toppin for Forbes

Last October, when Forbes profiled Axsome Therapeutics founder and CEO Herriot Tabuteau, the company had three drugs on the market, five in the pipeline and a market cap of $6.1 billion. Since then, the stock has doubled, giving it a market cap of $12.6 billion—and Tabuteau a net worth of $2.2 billion. That performance is far ahead of shares of Alphabet (up 45% in the same time period), Eli Lilly (up 57%) or Nvidia (just 7%), to name just a few fast-growing giants.

Behind the rise: The New York-based company got approval for its drug Auvelity to treat the agitation that often accompanies Alzheimer’s disease. “We literally just launched it a couple of weeks ago. The reception has been tremendous,” Tabuteau, 57, tells Forbes.

When Tabuteau, who was born in Haiti and educated at Yale School of Medicine, started the drug development company in 2012, he decided to do things differently. He focused on drugs for brain disorders, which are notoriously difficult to develop and whose efficacy can be hard to prove. He also shunned venture capital, instead self-funding with help from family and friends. When Axsome went public in 2015, Wall Street was skeptical and the company’s stock puttered along under $10 for years.

But as we detailed last year, its prospects skyrocketed with its first big drug, Auvelity. When the treatment for major depressive disorder gained FDA approval in August 2022, the company’s shares popped 65% in a week, valuing the company at $3 billion.

Getting approval for the drug in Alzheimer’s agitation may be an even bigger deal. More than 7 million people in the U.S. have Alzheimer’s and Axsome figures that up to 76% of them experience agitation. Yet until now the only way to treat their symptoms has been with anti-psychotics, which have serious risks, including death. Scrutiny of antipsychotics’ usage has been increasing. A report from the Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General in March found “alarming instances of inappropriate uses of antipsychotic drugs,” in a comprehensive review of 40 nursing home inspections, and noted that such inappropriate use has been a “longstanding concern for Congress and others.” Tabuteau points to the FDA’s unusual announcement heralding approval of the drug as the first non-antipsychotic for the indication as a sign of the new drug’s importance for public health.

Now Tabuteau (who Forbes recently named to its Immigrant 250 list) forecasts that the entire Auvelity franchise could reach $8 billion in peak sales, up from an earlier estimate of $6 billion, and he’s cranked up the company’s sales force to sell it. Potentially, Auvelity could be expanded to treat agitation in other forms of dementia, such as Lewy body dementia or vascular dementia, as well.

Axsome’s revenue reached $709 million for the latest 12 months (through the first quarter), up 64% from the same period the previous year. William Blair analyst Myles Minter now projects sales of $975 million for 2026 and $1.7 billion for 2027. In a recent research note, he wrote that not only were sales of the company’s drug for daytime sleepiness growing, but it also had “multiple shots on goal from additional pipeline assets,” including those for treatment of cataplexy (the sudden loss of muscle control) associated with narcolepsy and for fibromyglia.

“With the current pipeline, we are in position to file at least one new [drug application] every year, starting this year through 2030,” Tabuteau says. The company submitted an application for its narcolepsy medication earlier this year.

Tabuteau’s previous experience in finance–including stints at Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Securities and hedge fund Healthco/S.A.C. Capital, as well as managing his own funds–has paid off for Axsome. In late-2021, it bought the daytime sleepiness drug Sunosi for $53 million (plus single-digit royalties), then recouped its money when Tabuteau sold the European, Middle Eastern and North African rights.

That finance experience could pay off going forward as well. Since November, Axsome has acquired two additional therapeutic candidates: one to treat epilepsy, the other for schizophrenia and Tourette syndrome. It snagged the epilepsy drug by purchasing a small biotech that had originally licensed the therapy from AstraZeneca for just $300,000 upfront with potential milestone payments reaching $83 million, plus royalties. It acquired the schizophrenia and Tourette’s drug from Takeda for an undisclosed sum.

“It was not something that Takeda was looking to out-license, but based on our research we thought it was interesting so we did approach them and start a conversation,” Tabuteau says. He now figures that drug will be ready for phase 3 trials in patients with schizophrenia by the end of the year.

“Overall, if you look at our pipeline, it has the potential to generate peak sales of $20 billion-plus,” Tabuteau says. “There’s a lot more growth to be had, and we are very well positioned to deliver on that growth.”

This Startup Wants To Replace Cancer Surgery With UltrasoundCEO Mike Blue

HistoSonics

More than 500,000 cancer surgeries are performed every year in the United States. While these surgeries can often be successful, particularly when the cancer is caught early, they have high rates of complications, including infection, bleeding and chronic pain.

Mike Blue, CEO of HistoSonics, wants to change that. His company has developed a noninvasive technology system, called Edison, which utilizes histotripsy—sound waves that destroy tumors from the inside—to treat cancer and other conditions. The technique has fewer side effects than surgery: Just 6.8% of patients with liver cancer treated with Edison suffered complications, versus as high as 27% for conventional liver surgeries.

A team of researchers spun the Plymouth, Minn.-based company out of the University of Michigan in 2010 with an exclusive license to use its histotripsy technology. Edison received FDA clearance for use in patients with liver tumors in 2023. The company has sold more than 200 of its systems, which cost around $1.5 million, to hospitals such as the Cleveland Clinic and Cedars-Sinai.

It now hopes to use the Edison technology more broadly. It recently submitted an FDA application to use Edison against kidney tumors and it is testing the technology against pancreatic and prostate cancers. “We have the ability to deliver this beam therapy literally anywhere in the body,” he says. The company’s research teams are working on neurological diseases and women’s health issues, and they recently treated the first patients for benign prostatic hyperplasia, a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate.

Last week, HistoSonics raised new financing from investors that include Yosemite, the venture firm founded by Reed Jobs. (Read our profile of Jobs here.) The amount of the investment was undisclosed, but it valued the company at $3.75 billion. The valuation is up 67% since last August, when a consortium of investors that included Jeff Bezos acquired a majority stake in the company at a valuation of $2.25 billion.

States Sue Over Medicaid Work RulesTwenty-five states and the District of Columbia sued the federal government on Monday over work requirements for Medicaid enrollees enacted as part of President Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill. These are expected to cost millions of low-income people their health insurance coverage when they go into effect on January 1st.

The new work rules require most Medicaid recipients between ages 19 and 64 to prove they work, attend school or volunteer at least 80 hours a month in order to keep their coverage. There are certain carveouts from the rules, including one for those considered “medically frail.” At issue in the lawsuit is who qualifies under that exemption. The new rule implicitly links the definition of “medical frailty” to the ability to work, which means someone who wants to claim the exemption needs to prove their health makes that impossible.

“People with disabilities, patients in the middle of cancer treatment, or those struggling with another serious or complex health condition, shouldn’t be at risk of losing the care that helps maintain their health,” according to the lawsuit filed in federal district court for Massachusetts.

The states suing include Massachusetts, California, New Jersey, Arizona, Maine, New Mexico and North Carolina.

Mortgage insurance remains the foundation of Radian's long-term earnings and shareholder value creation. Radian Group Inc. (RDN - Free Report) , a global multi-line specialty insurer, is one of the largest private mortgage insurance providers in the United States. Private mortgage insurance plays an important role in the U.S. housing finance system because it promotes affordable homeownership while helping protect mortgage lenders, mortgage investors and other beneficiaries by mitigating default-related losses on residential mortgage loans.

RDN operates the Mortgage segment primarily through a leading U.S. private mortgage insurer, Radian Guaranty, that provides solutions to expand access to affordable, responsible and sustainable homeownership.

The Mortgage segment primarily derives its revenues from providing private mortgage insurance on residential first-lien mortgage loans to mortgage lending institutions and mortgage credit investors. In recent years, the mortgage insurance business has generated positive results, including strong earnings and cash flow.

Radian's mortgage insurance business benefits from growth in purchase mortgage originations, increasing insurance-in-force and continued demand for private mortgage insurance as an alternative to government-backed mortgage programs. AZN vs. ILMN: Which Stock Should Value Investors Buy Now?
ILMN Illumina
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors interested in stocks from the Medical - Biomedical and Genetics sector have probably already heard of Astrazeneca (AZN - Free Report) and Illumina (ILMN - Free Report) . But which of these two stocks offers value investors a better bang for their buck right now? We'll need to take a closer look.

We have found that the best way to discover great value opportunities is to pair a strong Zacks Rank with a great grade in the Value category of our Style Scores system. The Zacks Rank favors stocks with strong earnings estimate revision trends, and our Style Scores highlight companies with specific traits.

Astrazeneca and Illumina are sporting Zacks Ranks of #2 (Buy) and #3 (Hold), respectively, right now. This system places an emphasis on companies that have seen positive earnings estimate revisions, so investors should feel comfortable knowing that AZN is likely seeing its earnings outlook improve to a greater extent. But this is just one piece of the puzzle for value investors.

Value investors analyze a variety of traditional, tried-and-true metrics to help find companies that they believe are undervalued at their current share price levels.

The Value category of the Style Scores system identifies undervalued companies by looking at a number of key metrics. These include the long-favored P/E ratio, P/S ratio, earnings yield, cash flow per share, and a variety of other fundamentals that help us determine a company's fair value.

AZN currently has a forward P/E ratio of 18.43, while ILMN has a forward P/E of 33.85. We also note that AZN has a PEG ratio of 1.50. This metric is used similarly to the famous P/E ratio, but the PEG ratio also takes into account the stock's expected earnings growth rate. ILMN currently has a PEG ratio of 3.30.

Another notable valuation metric for AZN is its P/B ratio of 6.21. The P/B ratio is used to compare a stock's market value with its book value, which is defined as total assets minus total liabilities. For comparison, ILMN has a P/B of 9.94.

These are just a few of the metrics contributing to AZN's Value grade of B and ILMN's Value grade of C.

AZN is currently sporting an improving earnings outlook, which makes it stick out in our Zacks Rank model. And, based on the above valuation metrics, we feel that AZN is likely the superior value option right now.

Featuring a patriotic paint scheme inspired by the holiday, the No. 20 Toyota will take to the track on July 5 as NASCAR fans gather to celebrate America’s independence and one of the sport’s most anticipated summer race weekends.

For Saia, the event represents more than a race sponsorship. The holiday provides an opportunity to recognize the men and women who serve their communities every day, from military members and veterans to the professional drivers who help keep America’s supply chain moving.

"Fourth of July weekend is a time to celebrate the values that bring people together, hard work, dedication and service," said Saia Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at Saia Ray Ramu. The Chicagoland Speedway event marks Saia's lone primary sponsorship race with Bell during the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season as part of the company's partnership with JGR, which includes seven races with Ty Gibbs and the No. 54 team, reflecting the company's commitment to performance, reliability and continuous improvement, values that drive both organizations on and off the track.

Kimco Realty (KIM) is a Top Dividend Stock Right Now: Should You Buy?
KIM Kimco Realty Corporation
FMP Stock News
Original source text
All investors love getting big returns from their portfolio, whether it's through stocks, bonds, ETFs, or other types of securities. However, when you're an income investor, your primary focus is generating consistent cash flow from each of your liquid investments.

While cash flow can come from bond interest or interest from other types of investments, income investors hone in on dividends. A dividend is the distribution of a company's earnings paid out to shareholders; it's often viewed by its dividend yield, a metric that measures a dividend as a percent of the current stock price. Many academic studies show that dividends account for significant portions of long-term returns, with dividend contributions exceeding one-third of total returns in many cases.

Kimco Realty (KIM - Free Report) is headquartered in Jericho, and is in the Finance sector. The stock has seen a price change of 25.06% since the start of the year. The real estate investment trust is paying out a dividend of $0.26 per share at the moment, with a dividend yield of 4.1% compared to the REIT and Equity Trust - Retail industry's yield of 3.74% and the S&P 500's yield of 1.41%.

Looking at dividend growth, the company's current annualized dividend of $1.04 is up 3% from last year. Over the last 5 years, Kimco Realty has increased its dividend 5 times on a year-over-year basis for an average annual increase of 14.37%. Looking ahead, future dividend growth will be dependent on earnings growth and payout ratio, which is the proportion of a company's annual earnings per share that it pays out as a dividend. Kimco Realty's current payout ratio is 58%, meaning it paid out 58% of its trailing 12-month EPS as dividend.

Looking at this fiscal year, KIM expects solid earnings growth. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 is $1.83 per share, representing a year-over-year earnings growth rate of 3.98%.

Investors like dividends for many reasons; they greatly improve stock investing profits, decrease overall portfolio risk, and carry tax advantages, among others. But, not every company offers a quarterly payout.

For instance, it's a rare occurrence when a tech start-up or big growth business offers its shareholders a dividend. It's more common to see larger companies with more established profits give out dividends. During periods of rising interest rates, income investors must be mindful that high-yielding stocks tend to struggle. With that in mind, KIM is a compelling investment opportunity. Not only is it a strong dividend play, but the stock currently sits at a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold).

Higher Airfares Are Sticking After Spring Price Hikes, Analyst Says
ALK Alaska Air Group
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Bank of America Securities (BofA) analyst Andrew G. Didora has adopted a more positive outlook on U.S. airlines ahead of second-quarter earnings, citing strong demand, stable fares, and lower fuel prices as key sector supports.

BofA noted that spring fare increases have mostly persisted, and stable summer capacity is expected to support unit revenue through the third quarter.

The firm raised estimates and price forecasts across its airline coverage, but warned that faster fourth-quarter capacity growth could moderate unit revenue gains later in 2026.

Buy-Rated Network Carriers: Delta, United, AlaskaDelta: Pricing Power Supports Buy Rating

BofA stated that Delta should benefit from premium and corporate exposure, strong margins, and solid free cash flow. Third-quarter unit revenue is expected to accelerate as bookings reflect higher fares.

United’s Margin Expansion Path Stands Out

BofA noted that United benefits from a strong industry position, healthy margins, and opportunities for further margin expansion. Third-quarter unit revenue and costs are expected to rise due to strong demand and fare increases.

Alaska: Valuation Offsets Hawaii Pressure

Despite near-term fuel pressure, BofA raised its 2026 EPS forecast to $1.04, citing Alaska’s premium exposure, international growth, and valuation as support for the Buy rating.

Neutral Ratings: American, AllegiantAmerican: Leverage Keeps Rating Neutral

BofA noted that American faces higher earnings volatility due to leverage. While improving demand and pricing are positive, lower margins, higher leverage, and weaker free cash flow keep it behind other network airlines.

Allegiant: Demand Strength Meets Deal Risk

BofA stated that stronger demand and lower fuel costs support Allegiant’s outlook, but the risk associated with Sun Country integration limits potential upside.

Underperform Ratings: Southwest, JetBlue, FrontierSouthwest: Execution Risk Weighs

BofA noted that Southwest should benefit from healthy demand and firm pricing, but its business transformation introduces execution risk as initiatives reach their third-quarter run rate.

JetBlue: Leverage Keeps BofA Cautious

BofA stated that JetBlue should benefit from Spirit’s exit and healthy demand, but rising second-half capacity, weak earnings, and high leverage keep the firm cautious.

Frontier: Margin Profile Limits Upside

BofA noted that lower fuel costs and utilization-driven capacity growth should benefit Frontier, but its weaker margin profile keeps the firm cautious.

Price Action: At the time of publication Wednesday, DAL shares were trading higher by 0.41% at $94.04, UAL by 0.22% at $136.01, AAL by 1.36% at $18.32, ALGT by 3.29% at $121.47, JBLU by 1.40% at $5.81 and ULCC by 0.06% at $7.92, while ALK slipped 0.48% to $52.18 and LUV fell 1.22% to $50.79.

ResMed (RMD) Upgraded to Buy: Here's Why
RMD ResMed
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors might want to bet on ResMed (RMD - Free Report) , as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). This upgrade is essentially a reflection of an upward trend in earnings estimates -- one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices.

The Zacks rating relies solely on a company's changing earnings picture. It tracks EPS estimates for the current and following years from the sell-side analysts covering the stock through a consensus measure -- the Zacks Consensus Estimate.

The power of a changing earnings picture in determining near-term stock price movements makes the Zacks rating system highly useful for individual investors, since it can be difficult to make decisions based on rating upgrades by Wall Street analysts. These are mostly driven by subjective factors that are hard to see and measure in real time.

Therefore, the Zacks rating upgrade for ResMed basically reflects positivity about its earnings outlook that could translate into buying pressure and an increase in its stock price.

Most Powerful Force Impacting Stock PricesThe change in a company's future earnings potential, as reflected in earnings estimate revisions, and the near-term price movement of its stock are proven to be strongly correlated. The influence of institutional investors has a partial contribution to this relationship, as these big professionals use earnings and earnings estimates to calculate the fair value of a company's shares. An increase or decrease in earnings estimates in their valuation models simply results in higher or lower fair value for a stock, and institutional investors typically buy or sell it. Their bulk investment action then leads to price movement for the stock.

Fundamentally speaking, rising earnings estimates and the consequent rating upgrade for ResMed imply an improvement in the company's underlying business. Investors should show their appreciation for this improving business trend by pushing the stock higher.

Harnessing the Power of Earnings Estimate RevisionsAs empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock movements, tracking such revisions for making an investment decision could be truly rewarding.

Earnings Estimate Revisions for ResMedFor the fiscal year ending June 2026, this maker of medical products for respiratory disorders is expected to earn $11.13 per share, which is unchanged compared with the year-ago reported number.

Analysts have been steadily raising their estimates for ResMed. Over the past three months, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company has increased 1.3%.

The upgrade of ResMed to a Zacks Rank #2 positions it in the top 20% of the Zacks-covered stocks in terms of estimate revisions, implying that the stock might move higher in the near term.

Investors might want to bet on Aramark (ARMK - Free Report) , as it has been recently upgraded to a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). This rating change essentially reflects an upward trend in earnings estimates -- one of the most powerful forces impacting stock prices.

Peabody Energy Corporation (BTU) Faces Securities Class Action Related to Surprise Centurion Problems - HBSS
BTU Peabody Energy
FMP Stock News
Original source text
San Francisco, California--(Newsfile Corp. - July 1, 2026) -  Peabody Energy Corporation (NYSE: BTU) faces a securities class action lawsuit related to surprise disclosures the company made to investors on March 30 and May 5, 2026 about problems with its flagship metallurgical coal asset ("Centurion").

The lawsuit seeks to represent investors who purchased or otherwise acquired shares of Peabody common stock between October 14, 2024 and May 4, 2026.

Between March 27 (the trading day before the first cryptic disclosure) and the May 5, 2026 fuller disclosure, investors saw the price of Peabody shares crumble $14.50 (-36%). Accordingly, the severe market reactions upon the company's revelations support national shareholder rights firm Hagens Berman's investigation into legal claims that Peabody and its co-defendants violated the federal securities laws.

The firm encourages Peabody investors who suffered substantial losses to submit your losses now.

Peabody Energy Corporation (BTU) Securities Class Action:

Peabody characterizes itself as a leading producer of metallurgical and thermal coal and has promoted Centurion, its underground longwall metallurgical coal mine in Queensland, Australia. According to the company, the mine commenced full-scale production in February 2026.

The litigation is focused on the propriety of Peabody's statements about Centurion's operational status and production capabilities.

For example, Peabody's management informed investors on February 5, 2026 that "the team was installing the very last shield and putting the finishing touches on the Centurion Mine[,]" and "our team is charged up and has started mining some of the best metallurgical coal in the world." The company and its management also assured investors that Centurion is "going to ramp up probably about 700,000 tons in Q1, about 1 million to 1.1 million tons in Q2 and Q3, and then it'll fall back down in Q4 as we have a longwall move." In response, the market rewarded these statements by sending the price of Peabody shares up about 7.8% the next day.

Just a few weeks later, on March 30, 2026, Peabody filed a current report with the SEC and abruptly disclosed that Centurion "is expected deliver approximately 250,000 tons in the first quarter[.]" In other words, the company slashed Centurion production by about 64%. The news sent the price of Peabody shares down almost 10%.

Then, on May 5, 2026, Peabody reported its Q1 2026 financial results. Of particular concern pertaining to Centurion, management revealed the truth about why it slashed the mine's Q1 production assurance.

Despite telling investors in February that it was mining Centurion and would produce 700,000 tons in Q1, a new narrative emerged - "as part of our commissioning in February, we encountered temporary mechanical and electrical issues" - and "[a]s a result, our full year sales outlook for Centurion is now 2.5 million tons compared to our original expectation of 3.5 million tons." This full year 28% reduction helped send the price of Peabody shares down nearly 6%.

"We're focused on whether Peabody and its management were sufficiently transparent about Centurion's operational capabilities during the Class Period and, if not, whether they violated federal securities laws," said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm's investigation.

Will Progressive (PGR) Beat Estimates Again in Its Next Earnings Report?
PGR Progressive
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Looking for a stock that has been consistently beating earnings estimates and might be well positioned to keep the streak alive in its next quarterly report? Progressive (PGR - Free Report) , which belongs to the Zacks Insurance - Property and Casualty industry, could be a great candidate to consider.

This insurer has an established record of topping earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports. The company boasts an average surprise for the past two quarters of 3.83%.

For the last reported quarter, Progressive came out with earnings of $4.96 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $4.84 per share, representing a surprise of 2.48%. For the previous quarter, the company was expected to post earnings of $4.44 per share and it actually produced earnings of $4.67 per share, delivering a surprise of 5.18%.

Price and EPS Surprise

For Progressive, estimates have been trending higher, thanks in part to this earnings surprise history. And when you look at the stock's positive Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction), it's a great indicator of a future earnings beat, especially when combined with its solid Zacks Rank.

Our research shows that stocks with the combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) or better produce a positive surprise nearly 70% of the time. In other words, if you have 10 stocks with this combination, the number of stocks that beat the consensus estimate could be as high as seven.

The Zacks Earnings ESP compares the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the quarter; the Most Accurate Estimate is a version of the Zacks Consensus whose definition is related to change. The idea here is that analysts revising their estimates right before an earnings release have the latest information, which could potentially be more accurate than what they and others contributing to the consensus had predicted earlier.

Progressive has an Earnings ESP of +5.49% at the moment, suggesting that analysts have grown bullish on its near-term earnings potential. When you combine this positive Earnings ESP with the stock's Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), it shows that another beat is possibly around the corner.

With the Earnings ESP metric, it's important to note that a negative value reduces its predictive power; however, a negative Earnings ESP does not indicate an earnings miss.

Many companies end up beating the consensus EPS estimate, but that may not be the sole basis for their stocks moving higher. On the other hand, some stocks may hold their ground even if they end up missing the consensus estimate.

Because of this, it's really important to check a company's Earnings ESP ahead of its quarterly release to increase the odds of success. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Advanced Micro Devices vs Marvell Technology: The Better AI Chip Maker
MRVL Marvell Technology Group
FMP Stock News

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD | AMD Price Prediction) and Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) both just reported quarters that put AI infrastructure at the center of their stories.

AMD posted $10.25 billion in Q1 revenue powered by Instinct GPUs and EPYC servers. Marvell pulled $2.418 billion with custom AI silicon and high-speed optics. Same end market. Very different bets.

Instinct GPUs Carry AMD. Optics and Custom Silicon Carry Marvell. AMD’s Data Center segment hit $5.78 billion, up 57% YoY, and is now the dominant earnings engine. Lisa Su told investors “customer engagement around MI450 Series and Helios is strengthening, with leading customer forecasts exceeding our initial expectations.”

The Meta deal for up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs gives that claim teeth. Client Ryzen revenue grew 26% YoY, while Gaming and Embedded stayed modest. The portfolio is broad, and it is finally working in sync.

Marvell came in narrower and faster. Data Center made up 76% of total revenue, growing 27% YoY. Matt Murphy said “we are seeing exceptional AI-related bookings” across 800G and 1.6T optics, 51.2T Ethernet switches, and custom XPU silicon. He raised both the fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028 outlook. That is rare confidence.

Merchant GPU Heavyweight vs. Hyperscaler Co-Pilot AMD wants to be the alternative to NVIDIA in merchant AI accelerators. Marvell wants to be the silicon partner inside hyperscaler racks that build their own chips. Those are different theories of where AI margin pools settle.

Lens AMD Marvell Core Bet MI450 and Helios rack-scale AI Custom XPU plus optical interconnect Q2 Guide ~$11.2B, +46% YoY $2.7B, ~35% YoY Key Vulnerability China export controls on MI308 Hyperscaler vertical integration Forward P/E 74 66 Marvell also bought Celestial AI (photonic fabric, closed February 2, 2026) and XConn Technologies (chiplet connectivity) to deepen the interconnect moat.

AMD already operates at a different scale, with $2.57 billion in Q1 free cash flow, up 253% YoY. Marvell’s free cash flow of $483 million grew faster on a percentage basis but is roughly a fifth the size.

The Next Test Is MI450 Volume and Marvell’s Bookings Conversion I will be watching whether AMD’s MI450 customer forecasts translate into shipped revenue through the back half of 2026. Lisa Su’s $11.2 billion Q2 guide implies that ramp is already starting.

For Marvell, you should keep an eye on whether those exceptional bookings actually pull forward, and whether custom XPU programs hold as hyperscalers like Google and Amazon push deeper into their own designs.

AMD has rallied 51.86% since filing. Marvell is up 39.78% over a shorter window. Both have already priced in plenty.

Why I Lean AMD for Breadth and Marvell for Pure AI Beta For steadier compounding exposure, AMD offers more diversified growth handles. The combination of EPYC, Instinct, and Ryzen gives the business multiple growth handles, and the Meta and OpenAI partnerships look durable. The forward multiple at 74x is rich, but the cash generation is real.

If you want concentrated upside tied directly to AI infrastructure spending, Marvell fits better. The narrower model amplifies bookings momentum and Murphy’s accelerating-each-quarter language is uncommon.

I would stay cautious on the customer concentration risk and the steady insider selling, which suggests executives are happy to lock in gains. Both stocks look richly valued, and both can work if AI capex stays this aggressive into 2027.

After a sweet run-up in its stock back in February, Hershey NYSE: HSY is now trading 3.8% below its year-start price.

But while the share price is lingering, the company’s picture has changed. Having overcome soaring cocoa costs with remarkable pricing power, easing commodity pressures, and the proven strength of its brands, the company is positioning itself for a potential margin recovery.

Get Hershey alerts:

Most analysts rate it a Hold, with a 20% upside, as a balance of pricing and demand continues. Yet with a proven loyalty from customers and an alignment of new products, the company appears well-positioned if the market follows current trends.

Hershey's Pricing Power Is Paying OffWhat hurt the company recently was a well-known event. Cocoa prices surged to historic highs in late 2024 and 2025, squeezing the margins of every chocolate maker in the world. Hershey saw its net income drop from $797 million in the fourth quarter of 2024 to $224 million the next three months in 2025 and to $63 million the quarter after that.

For Hershey, which generated annual sales of $11.7 billion last year and holds a market capitalization of around $36 billion, the shock also arrived at an awkward moment. The company was already pursuing a broader portfolio reorganization. It was pushing harder into salty snacks, including Dot's Homestyle Pretzels. LesserEvil, and SkinnyPop, as well as protein products, such as Fulfil bars in North America.

Sales and Earnings Rebound Despite Higher CostsWhen cocoa prices soared, the story for Hershey shifted from long-term growth to short-term damage control. As a result, the company leaned into its pricing power. By the end of last year, organic price realization, or the benefit from price increases, rose 6% in the fourth quarter of 2025, then accelerated to 10% in the first quarter of 2026. Consumers might have grumbled, but they kept buying.

The first-quarter 2026 results told the broader story. Consolidated net sales reached $3.1 billion, up 10.6% from $2.8 billion a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.35, an increase of 12.4%, and well above analyst estimates, compared with $2.09 in the prior-year period. Reported net income was $435 million, or $2.13 per share, from $1.10 a year earlier.

Operating results were also sharply higher. The first quarter’s reported operating profit rose 73.5% to $640.7 million, while the profit margin hit 20.6%, up 7.4 points from last year. The company said an increase in sales and prices helped offset higher commodity and tariff-related costs.

Looking ahead, management reaffirmed its full-year guidance of 4% to 5% net sales growth and 30% to 35% adjusted earnings per share (EPS) growth. The full-year adjusted EPS is projected to come in the range of $8.20 to $8.52 compared with $6.31 in 2025.

Lower Cocoa Prices Could Boost MarginsThe success of its salty snacks was evident in North America, which reported $2.5 billion in net sales. That segment recorded an acquisition-led 26% year-over-year increase, while North American confectionery products recorded an 8.3% increase.

The cost picture is improving, but not resolved. In the previous quarter, the gross margin fell 17 percentage points to 37% as cocoa prices remained high. Even in the first three months of 2026, adjusted gross margin rose to 40.4%, but was still down 80 basis points year over year due to elevated commodity and tariff-related costs.

The encouraging development is that cocoa prices have fallen dramatically from their late-2024 and early-2025 highs, which were well above $10,000 per metric ton. Having fallen below $4,000 earlier this year, the commodity is currently trading at nearly $5,000.

ONE Hershey Aims to Drive Long-Term GrowthBeyond cocoa, the company is making other structural moves.

In March, the company announced the unification of its sweet, salty, and protein brand portfolios under an integrated operating model called ONE Hershey. The company hopes that by having its products under a single umbrella, it can more effectively align strategy, cross-selling, brand messaging, in-store performance, and innovation.

The initiative also comes at a time of top management changes. A new president and CEO took over last August, and more recently, a new president of U.S. operations was appointed to oversee the integrated businesses.

The financial picture around the stock reflects the tension between the business quality and the cost environment.

Over the past 52 weeks, Hershey has traded between $160 to nearly $240 per share. At current levels around $175 per share, its price/earnings ratio of over 33 is not cheap, and the consensus among 23 analysts is that the stock is currently a Hold. Sixteen analysts recommend a Hold, and seven recommend a Buy.

With an average 12-month price target of $217.50, the current upside on the stock is above 20%. The highest price target is $260 and the lowest is $185, suggesting genuine uncertainty about the pace of margin recovery.

Hershey also carries a sizable quarterly dividend of $1.45 per share for a yield above 3%. The company has raised its dividend for 15 consecutive years,

The Next Few Quarters Could Be CriticalWhether the momentum that Hershey has created continues will soon be seen in its second-quarter earnings.

The question is whether its pricing power has held and how much lower cocoa costs will help. New management will also help set direction.

For investors, Hershey presents a choice between patience and precision. Hershey is a category-leading company with a storied brand in the consumer staples sector. It has proven pricing power, a 15-year dividend growth streak, and a commodity headwind that appears to be easing. The next quarter or two should show if the trajectory continues.

Why Vertiv (VRT) is Poised to Beat Earnings Estimates Again
VRT Vertiv Holdings
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Have you been searching for a stock that might be well-positioned to maintain its earnings-beat streak in its upcoming report? It is worth considering Vertiv Holdings Co. (VRT - Free Report) , which belongs to the Zacks Computers - IT Services industry.

This company has an established record of topping earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports. The company boasts an average surprise for the past two quarters of 10.07%.

For the most recent quarter, Vertiv was expected to post earnings of $1.02 per share, but it reported $1.17 per share instead, representing a surprise of 14.71%. For the previous quarter, the consensus estimate was $1.29 per share, while it actually produced $1.36 per share, a surprise of 5.43%.

Price and EPS Surprise

With this earnings history in mind, recent estimates have been moving higher for Vertiv. In fact, the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction) for the company is positive, which is a great sign of an earnings beat, especially when you combine this metric with its nice Zacks Rank.

Vertiv has an Earnings ESP of +4.43% at the moment, suggesting that analysts have grown bullish on its near-term earnings potential. When you combine this positive Earnings ESP with the stock's Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), it shows that another beat is possibly around the corner.

With the Earnings ESP metric, it's important to note that a negative value reduces its predictive power; however, a negative Earnings ESP does not indicate an earnings miss.

Many companies end up beating the consensus EPS estimate, though this is not the only reason why their shares gain. Additionally, some stocks may remain stable even if they end up missing the consensus estimate.

Because of this, it's really important to check a company's Earnings ESP ahead of its quarterly release to increase the odds of success. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Bitcoin Parabolic Rally Still Possible
BTC Bitcoin RLY Rally
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Bull Case Intact Despite Slowing Capital EfficiencyBitcoin's ($BTC) long-term bull thesis remains intact, according to Ki Young Ju, founder and CEO of on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant, even as the market grapples with declining capital efficiency and sustained selling pressure from early holders.

Ki argues that the current distribution phase is not a sign of structural failure, but rather a broad transfer of supply from long-term Bitcoin holders and miners to US financial institutions and spot ETFs. Ki Young Ju has described Bitcoin's current distribution phase as a major transfer of supply from old market participants to US financial institutions, ETFs, and new long-term holders, arguing that selling by Bitcoin OGs and long-time miners is part of a broad change of hands rather than evidence that the asset has exhausted its cycle.

The scale of institutional absorption underpins his confidence. Since January 2023, Strategy has bought 711,206 BTC and sold only 32 BTC, while ETFs absorbed a further 509,102 BTC between March 2024 and mid-2025, bringing combined absorption to roughly 1,240,808 BTC, yet price returned to near the same level.

Institutional Depth, Not Retail Demand, Is the Key TriggerFor Ki, the next major rally will not be driven by the same retail-led ETF demand that characterized earlier phases of the current cycle. Instead, he argues that the composition of holders matters more than the raw volume of capital entering the market.

If the new owners are institutions capable of attracting larger pools of liquidity over time, he argues, the transition could ultimately support another upward cycle, noting that "for any asset, what ultimately matters is who holds it."

Ki estimates that Bitcoin could enter another parabolic phase if it absorbs more than $1 trillion in realized capital. That threshold has already been approached. Bitcoin's realized capitalization reached an all-time high of $1.125 trillion as of late 2025, a metric that values each bitcoin at the price it last moved, highlighting actual capital inflows rather than speculative price action.

Ki also pointed to gold's roughly $27 trillion market value as a long-run benchmark, suggesting significant room remains for Bitcoin to grow if institutional adoption deepens. As Bitcoin matures, its price behavior is diverging from previous cycles, with the asset reaching an all-time high market cap of approximately $2.5 trillion as of October 2025, making it significantly larger in scale and more liquid than before.

The picture is not without risk. CryptoQuant data shows overall Bitcoin demand, including speculative and spot demand, contracting at a monthly pace of roughly 232,000 BTC, with analysts arguing the correction is tied directly to demand conditions rather than equities or broader macro indicators. Ki himself has warned that a prolonged sideways market, rather than a sharp crash, could prove the harder test for the current cycle's structural supports.
