Key Takeaways Annaly expanded its Agency portfolio by nearly $3 billion to $95 billion in market value.NLY purchased $7.1 billion of loans in Q2, with Residential Credit at $10.4 billion.Annaly's MSR portfolio held $4.1 billion in market value as it grew its seller network. Annaly Capital Management, Inc. (NLY - Free Report) emphasized the strength of its diversified housing finance platform on its second-quarter 2026 earnings call, with management focusing on disciplined capital allocation, conservative leverage and opportunities across Agency securities, Residential Credit and mortgage servicing rights.
Executives highlighted continued dividend coverage, portfolio growth and selective deployment of new capital while addressing macro uncertainty, rate volatility and investor questions around future allocation priorities.
NLY Emphasizes Diversified PlatformCEO and co-chief investment officer David Finkelstein said that the company delivered a 5.5% economic return in the quarter while maintaining conservative economic leverage of 5.6 times. He noted that earnings available for distribution exceeded the dividend for the ninth consecutive quarter, supporting the increase in the quarterly common dividend to $0.75 per share.
NLY reported earnings available for distribution of $0.79 per average common share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.75. Revenues were $488.2 million, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $509 million.
Management stated that portfolio positioning remained focused on balancing attractive returns with risk control as interest rate uncertainty continued. The company ended the quarter with a 97% hedge ratio and maintained a conservative approach to managing rate exposure.
Annaly Expands Agency PortfolioAnnaly increased its Agency portfolio by nearly $3 billion during the quarter, bringing the portfolio to $95 billion in market value. Finkelstein added that Agency capital allocation increased to 57% as the company invested newly raised capital into higher-coupon TBA securities and specified pools.
Management said that Agency spreads benefited from stronger technical conditions, including fixed-income inflows, overseas investor demand and activity in the collateralized mortgage obligation market. The company also adjusted its portfolio by reducing exposure to certain lower-coupon securities and adding higher-coupon opportunities.
Annaly’s executives highlighted continued focus on managing prepayment risk through portfolio construction. They said that specified pools remain an important tool for adding call protection while maintaining flexibility across Agency investments.
NLY Targets Residential Credit GrowthFinkelstein stated that Residential Credit remained an area where the company sees attractive risk-adjusted opportunities. The portfolio ended the quarter at $10.4 billion in market value and represented 22% of dedicated capital.
Michael Fania, co-chief investment officer and head of residential credit, said that Annaly purchased $7.1 billion of loans during the quarter, supported by its correspondent channel and whole loan relationships. He highlighted the company’s expanded sourcing network and operational infrastructure as key advantages.
Fania added that credit quality remained strong, citing a lock pipeline with a 765 FICO score and 67% combined loan-to-value ratio. He said that the company remains disciplined on pricing and return targets despite increased market competition.
Annaly Builds MSR FlexibilityAnnaly’s Mortgage Servicing Rights portfolio remained relatively stable at $4.1 billion in market value, representing 21% of dedicated capital. Management said that the business continued to benefit from its operating-light structure and use of sub-servicing partners.
Ken Adler, head of mortgage servicing rights and portfolio analytics, said that the company’s model allows it to participate in MSR transactions without the same operational requirements as traditional servicers. He noted that this structure supports flexibility when sourcing assets.
Adler also highlighted growth in the flow purchase channel, saying the company has expanded its seller network and uses detailed pricing analytics to evaluate MSR opportunities.
NLY Addresses Capital AllocationDuring Q&A, a Piper Sandler analyst asked where incremental capital would be deployed across the company’s three strategies. Finkelstein said that Residential Credit offered strong opportunities, while Agency investments remained attractive because of favorable market conditions.
Finkelstein added that the company’s recent capital raises were designed to support growth in Residential Credit and MSR while maintaining disciplined valuation standards. He noted that capital raised over the prior two years helped expand these businesses.
A UBS analyst asked about mortgage spreads and market uncertainty. Management responded that low volatility, strong demand and supply conditions were key factors influencing the current investment environment.
Annaly Maintains Strategic FocusAnnaly entered the second half of 2026 focused on selective growth across its three investment strategies. Management emphasized scale, liquidity and capital discipline as central components of its approach.
The company ended the quarter with $9.6 billion of assets available for financing, including cash and unencumbered Agency mortgage-backed securities, providing additional financial flexibility.
Executives continued to prioritize opportunities where the company can deploy capital while maintaining conservative risk controls and supporting earnings distribution.

Annaly Capital Management (NLY -0.80%) towers above most dividend stocks. The real estate investment trust (REIT) currently has a dividend yield of more than 12.5%. That's over 10 times higher than the S&P 500's current yield of around 1.1%.
A double-digit dividend yield is usually a bright red flag for income investors. However, that's not the case with the mortgage REIT's big-time payout. That's because the one metric that matters most for its dividend continues to top its payout.
It's all about Annaly's EAD Investors need to shift their focus when evaluating a REIT's financial results from reported net income to its underlying earnings. That metric can vary by REIT, as some use funds from operations (FFO) while others use an adjusted earnings metric. For Annaly, the metric that matters most for its dividend is its earnings available for distribution (EAD).
During the second quarter, the mortgage REIT generated $0.79 per share of EAD, comfortably above the $0.75 per share dividend it paid. That marked the ninth straight quarter that Annaly's EAD exceeded its dividend payment:
Data source: Annaly Capital Management. Chart by the author.
Annaly's rising EAD over the past nine quarters has enabled it to increase its dividend twice during this period, including a recent boost from $0.70 to $0.75 per share. That has reversed the prior downtrend in Annaly's EAD and dividend.
Will Annaly's EAD remain above its dividend? Annaly's recent decision to raise its dividend reflects "the durable earnings power of our portfolio," stated CEO David Finkelstein in the second-quarter earnings press release. Several factors contribute to this durability, including Annaly's scale (it's the largest residential mortgage REIT by market cap), diversification (it invests in Agency MBS, residential credit, and mortgage servicing rights (MSR)), and financial strength (economic leverage of 5.6 times, down from 5.7x in the prior quarter and ample liquidity).

Those factors drive the REIT's expectation that it can continue to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns across market cycles. It currently sees meaningful investment opportunities across its three strategies. Annaly can earn levered returns of 11% to 13% on new MSR investments, 12% to 15% on residential credit, and 14% to 16% on Agency MBS investments. It has the flexibility to allocate new capital to the best investment opportunities it identifies. That was in Agency MBS during the second quarter, as it grew that portfolio by $3 billion while maintaining the size of its residential credit and MSR portfolios. As long as Annaly can earn high returns on new investments, it should be able to continue its trend of generating EAD in excess of its dividend.
Excess EAD means the dividend is safe Annaly ran into trouble several years ago when its EAD began to decline, forcing it to cut its dividend a few times. However, that trend has reversed, enabling the REIT to boost its payout as its EAD has risen. As long as that metric remains above the dividend, the payout is safe. That appears to be the case for now, given the company's increasingly durable earnings and the strong returns it can earn on new investments. However, it's a metric investors need to watch closely, as changes in EAD will directly affect the dividend.

Monthly dividend payers are the quiet workhorses of a retirement paycheck. They align with monthly bills, compound faster when reinvested, and let retirees stop watching a calendar for quarterly deposits. Consider the flagship of the group: Realty Income (NYSE:O | O Price Prediction) has paid uninterrupted monthly dividends spanning over 25+ years, and shares have returned 769.14% on an adjusted basis over the last 20 years. That is the kind of compounding that makes retirees wish they had started two decades ago. Here are five monthly payers built for income investors, ranked by how well the dividend is actually covered.
Realty Income (O) Realty Income yields 5.11% at a recent price of $65.53, paying a monthly dividend of $0.271. This is the name that defined the category. The company has declared 670 consecutive monthly dividends and has notched its 114th consecutive quarterly increase, with 133 raises since its NYSE listing in 1994.
Safety leads here. Q1 2026 AFFO per share came in at $1.13, up 6.6% year over year, and management raised 2026 AFFO guidance to $4.41 to $4.44, comfortably covering the $3.246 annualized dividend. Portfolio occupancy sits at 98.9%, rent recapture was 103.4%, and Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDAre improved to 5.2x from 5.4x. For income investors, this is a monthly paycheck machine backed by nearly 15,000 net-lease properties and a private-capital joint venture with Apollo. The caveat: Q1 2026 included $129.3 million in impairment provisions, and per-share AFFO growth remains slow at REIT scale.
Main Street Capital (MAIN) Main Street Capital (NYSE:MAIN) yields 5.73% and is a business development company that pairs a regular monthly dividend with a supplemental quarterly dividend. The regular monthly rate is $0.26 per share for April, May, and June 2026, a 4.0% increase year over year, and management has now paid 19 consecutive quarterly supplemental dividends. Data confirms uninterrupted monthly dividend payments for 19+ years (253 total records from 2007-2026).
Coverage is what makes MAIN stand apart in the BDC space. Q1 2026 distributable net investment income was $1.00 per share, and full-year 2025 return on equity hit 17.1%. NAV per share ticked up to $33.46 from $33.33, non-accruals sit at just 1.2% of the portfolio at fair value, and the internally managed cost structure runs a lean 1.3% to 1.4% of assets. Trailing EPS of $4.75 covers the base dividend with room to spare. The risk: revenue fell 17.9% year over year in Q1 2026, and floating-rate BDC income is sensitive to Fed rate cuts.
STAG Industrial (STAG) STAG Industrial (NYSE:STAG) yields 3.78%, the lowest headline yield in this bundle but the one backed by the strongest operating fundamentals. The current monthly dividend is $0.3875, and STAG has kept uninterrupted monthly dividend payments for the entire 13+ year history since 2011.
Industrial demand is doing the heavy lifting. Q4 2025 EPS came in at $0.44 versus a $0.22 estimate, revenue reached $220.9 million, up 10.8% year over year, and Core FFO per diluted share hit $0.66, up 11.4%. Cash Rent Change ran 16.3% in Q4 and 24.0% for the full year on new and renewal leases, with occupancy at 97.2%. Management has already addressed 69.2% of 2026 leasing at a 20.0% Cash Rent Change, with an acquisition pipeline of $3.6 billion across 169 buildings. Shares have compounded 170.41% on an adjusted basis over ten years. The caveat: interest expense is rising, with Term Loan G stepping from 1.70% to 3.94% in February 2026.

EPR Properties (EPR) EPR Properties (NYSE:EPR) yields 5.91% at a monthly payout of $0.31, annualized to $3.72. That represents a 5.1% increase from the prior year and continues the steady rebuild that began after EPR reinstated its dividend in July 2021 at $0.25 per share following a 16-month suspension during the pandemic.
Coverage has improved meaningfully. Q1 2026 FFOAA per diluted share was $1.26, up 5.9% year over year, and 2026 FFOAA guidance was raised to $5.37 to $5.53, easily covering the $3.72 dividend. The portfolio is 99% leased or operated across 335 properties with a 2.0x coverage ratio, and a recent $315 million Six Flags portfolio acquisition of six US attractions extends the experiential real estate strategy. Consumer experience spending grew 7% in 2024-2025. The caveat is real: EPR’s top three tenants (Topgolf, AMC, Regal) generate 38.3% of revenue, and $629.6 million in debt matures in 2026.
AGNC Investment (AGNC) AGNC Investment (NASDAQ:AGNC) yields 12.7%, an ultra-high-yield that comes with the loudest risk disclosure in this bundle. The monthly dividend is $0.12 per share, and management has maintained that rate for 6+ years of stable $0.12 monthly dividend since April 2020.
The safety picture is nuanced. Q1 2026 net spread and dollar roll income was $0.42 per share, up from $0.35, which covers the $0.36 quarterly dividend. But AGNC also posted a net loss of $0.17 per share, and tangible net book value declined 5.6% to $8.38 per share as Middle East volatility widened Agency MBS spreads. Full-year 2025 was much stronger, with Economic ROTCE of 22.7% and a total stock return of 34.8% with dividends reinvested. Long-term investors should not forget the history: AGNC cut from $0.16 to $0.12 per share in March 2020, and dividends peaked at $1.40 per month in 2010-2011. This is the yield you take when you accept book-value volatility, not a set-and-forget anchor. With the 10-year Treasury at 4.55%, the yield premium is real but so is the spread risk.
The Bigger Picture for Monthly Income These five names span the safety spectrum retirees actually face. O and MAIN offer the cleanest coverage and the longest unbroken payment streaks, STAG delivers the strongest operating growth at a lower headline yield, EPR pays a higher yield tied to a real recovery story, and AGNC delivers double-digit income but requires a stomach for book-value swings. With core PCE inflation running at a 90.9th percentile ranking over the past year, the case for growing monthly income, not just fixed coupons, keeps getting stronger.

Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both.
Featuring daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, the research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor.
Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores.
What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.
Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform.
The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:
Value ScoreValue investors love finding good stocks at good prices, especially before the broader market catches on to a stock's true value. Utilizing ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and many other multiples, the Value Style Score identifies the most attractive and most discounted stocks.
Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time.
Momentum ScoreMomentum investors, who live by the saying "the trend is your friend," are most interested in taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Utilizing one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, among other factors, the Momentum Style Score can help determine favorable times to buy high-momentum stocks.
VGM ScoreIf you like to use all three kinds of investing, then the VGM Score is for you. It's a combination of all Style Scores, and is an important indicator to use with the Zacks Rank. The VGM Score rates each stock on their shared weighted styles, narrowing down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum.
How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.
It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.
With more than 800 top-rated stocks to choose from, it can certainly feel overwhelming to pick the ones that are right for you and your investing journey.
That's where the Style Scores come in.
You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible.
As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy.
For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well.
Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.

What this means for investorsThe bigger question for investors isn't which of these funds is “better,” but how much banking-specific risk they actually want in their portfolio.
XLF's diversification across insurance, payments, and asset management -- not just banks -- has historically made it a smoother way to own the financial sector, and its rock-bottom 0.08% expense ratio makes it an easy fund to own for buy-and-hold investors.
KBE, by contrast, is a more concentrated, higher-conviction bet on banks themselves, and its equal-weighted approach means smaller regional and mid-cap banks can move the needle just as much as the mega-cap giants. That’s more potential upside -- and downside -- that investors don't get with most cap-weighted financial funds.
That trade-off shows up clearly in the numbers: KBE's 22% one-year return far outpaces XLF’s roughly 9% gain. But KBE’s 45% maximum drawdown over the last five years is a reminder that concentrated bank exposure can swing hard in both directions, especially during periods of rate volatility or credit stress. Neither outcome is unusual -- banking is historically one of the more cyclical corners of the financial sector, prone to bigger rallies and bigger pullbacks than diversified financial ETFs.
For investors who want steady, low-cost exposure to the broader financial sector, XLF is the more conservative choice. For those who have a specific view on banks -- say, expecting margins to improve as rates shift, or wanting to bet on a recovery in regional lenders -- KBE offers a more targeted way to invest in that view, provided they can stomach the extra volatility that comes with it.

Key Takeaways Iridium missed EPS estimates, while revenue grew 4% year over year and topped expectations.IRDM advanced growth with new satellite products and completed the Aireon acquisition.Iridium grew commercial IoT subscribers 9% and expects Aireon to add about $100M annual service revenue. Iridium Communications (IRDM - Free Report) reported earnings per share (EPS) of 9 cents for the second quarter of 2026, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 26 cents. The bottom line also compared unfavorably with the prior-year quarter's figure of 20 cents. Management attributed most of the decline to transaction costs related to the pending Rocket Lab Corporation (RKLB - Free Report) acquisition and higher cash-based employee incentive compensation.
Iridium reported second-quarter revenue of $225.2 million, representing 4% year-over-year growth. The consensus mark was pinned at $221.2 million. The biggest headline remains Rocket Lab's planned acquisition of Iridium. Rather than operating independently, Iridium will become part of a vertically integrated space company spanning satellite manufacturing, launch services, space systems, global communicationsand government space infrastructure. For Iridium, Rocket Lab provides direct access to satellite manufacturing expertise, launch capacity and potentially lower deployment costs for future constellation upgrades. Management believes this integration will accelerate innovation while improving operational efficiency over time.
The most compelling aspect of the quarter is Iridium's progress across four major growth initiatives, which is likely to open new market avenues. Iridium introduced the Iridium 9604 tri-mode communication module, combining satellite connectivity, LTE-M cellular and GNSS positioning. This integrated approach simplifies hardware development while lowering deployment costs for enterprise customers. Later this year, IRDM also plans to launch Iridium NTN Direct, enabling standards-based direct-to-device satellite connectivity.
The recent commercial launch of Iridium's PNT ASIC significantly expands opportunities beyond communications. If adoption accelerates, Assured PNT could evolve into an entirely new recurring revenue platform. Iridium continues to strengthen its role within the U.S. defense infrastructure. Its work supporting the Space Development Agency's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture demonstrates that Iridium is becoming an increasingly strategic technology partner rather than simply a communications provider. As defense spending shifts toward space-based infrastructure, this business could generate substantial long-term opportunities.
The major strategic move was completing the acquisition of Aireon LLC, operator of the world's only space-based ADS-B aircraft surveillance network. Management expects the acquisition to contribute approximately $100 million in annual service revenue and $30 million in annual OEBITDA.
Segmental DetailsTotal Service revenues rose 4% year over year to $161.3 million. Service revenues contributed 72% to total revenues in the second quarter. Our estimate for the metric was $159.9 million. Commercial services generated $133.7 million, representing 59% of total company revenue. Several business verticals contributed. Commercial IoT revenue increased 5%, hosted payload and data services rose 14% and voice and traditional data services grew 3%. Government services continue providing stability.
Revenue from U.S. government customers increased 3% to $27.6 million, primarily due to contractual pricing increases under the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS) contract. The U.S. government remains Iridium's largest customer and represents nearly all engineering and support services revenue. Importantly, management expects renewal of the EMSS contract by March 2027. Given the increasing geopolitical tensions and growing military reliance on resilient satellite communications, this business should remain a dependable source of recurring revenue.
Subscriber Equipment sales increased 7% to $20.8 million. We projected the figure to be $18.2 million.
Engineering and support revenues jumped 3% to $43.1 million, led by Iridium’s expanding work with the Space Development Agency, reinforcing its emphasis on growth driven by national security programs. Our estimate was $42 million.
Other DetailsTotal operating expenses were $191.2 million compared with $166.6 million in the prior-year quarter, primarily due to higher depreciation and amortization costs and selling, general and administrative expenses.
OEBITDA remained relatively stable at $119.1 million, only slightly below last-year quarter’s $121.3 million. The decline was largely due to a change in compensation structure, shifting to fully cash-based incentives. This added about $3.9 million in expenses for the quarter.
Operating income came in at $34 million compared with $50.3 million reported in the year-ago quarter.
The company ended the quarter with 2,627,000 billable subscribers, a 6% increase from the previous-year quarter. Commercial IoT remained the primary growth engine as enterprises continue deploying connected sensors and remote monitoring systems across industries such as logistics, agriculture, energy and environmental monitoring. The continued growth of commercial IoT subscribers, which increased 9%, is encouraging.
Capital Structure Remains ManageableIridium continues investing aggressively. Capital expenditures totaled $21.8 million during the quarter. Following the Aireon acquisition, debt increased as expected, with gross debt reaching approximately $1.8 billion and cash balance of $184.2 million.
As part of its capital return program, Iridium paid a second-quarter dividend of 15 cents per share on June 30, 2026, distributing $16.2 million to shareholders.
IRDM’s Zacks RankIridium currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.
Recent PerformancesAmerica Movil, S.A.B. de C.V. (AMX - Free Report) reported net income per ADR of 47 cents for the second quarter of 2026, up from 38 cents in the prior-year quarter. The earnings figure missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 52 cents. Total quarterly revenues rose 3.1% to Mex$241,071 million, driven by rapid momentum across the Service and Equipment segments.
BlackBerry Limited (BB - Free Report) reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of 4 cents. The figure beat the company’s estimate of 2-3 cents. In the year-ago quarter, it reported a non-GAAP EPS of 2 cents. The Zacks Consensus Estimate was pegged at 3 cents per share. BlackBerry generated $152.9 million in fiscal first-quarter revenue, representing 26% year-over-year growth.
Ericsson (ERIC - Free Report) reported second-quarter 2026 results, wherein earnings met the Zacks Consensus Estimate, while revenues missed the same. Adjusted earnings were SEK 1.22 (13 cents) per share, in line with the consensus estimate. Revenues were SEK 52.7 billion ($5.62 billion), down 6% year over year and 2.56% below the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5.77 billion. Organic sales declined 1% year over year primarily due to lower IPR licensing revenues following a non-recurring benefit in the prior-year quarter.
The market expects Riot Platforms, Inc. (RIOT - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year decline in earnings on lower revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended June 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.
The stock might move higher if these key numbers top expectations in the upcoming earnings report. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.
While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.
Zacks Consensus EstimateThis company is expected to post quarterly loss of $0.39 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of -168.4%.
Revenues are expected to be $150.47 million, down 1.7% from the year-ago quarter.
Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 13.68% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.
Investors should keep in mind that the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts may not always get reflected in the aggregate change.
Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise
Earnings WhisperEstimate revisions ahead of a company's earnings release offer clues to the business conditions for the period whose results are coming out. This insight is at the core of our proprietary surprise prediction model -- the Zacks Earnings ESP (Expected Surprise Prediction).
The Zacks Earnings ESP compares the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the quarter; the Most Accurate Estimate is a more recent version of the Zacks Consensus EPS estimate. The idea here is that analysts revising their estimates right before an earnings release have the latest information, which could potentially be more accurate than what they and others contributing to the consensus had predicted earlier.
Thus, a positive or negative Earnings ESP reading theoretically indicates the likely deviation of the actual earnings from the consensus estimate. However, the model's predictive power is significant for positive ESP readings only.
A positive Earnings ESP is a strong predictor of an earnings beat, particularly when combined with a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold). Our research shows that stocks with this combination produce a positive surprise nearly 70% of the time, and a solid Zacks Rank actually increases the predictive power of Earnings ESP.
Please note that a negative Earnings ESP reading is not indicative of an earnings miss. Our research shows that it is difficult to predict an earnings beat with any degree of confidence for stocks with negative Earnings ESP readings and/or Zacks Rank of 4 (Sell) or 5 (Strong Sell).
How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Riot Platforms, Inc.?For Riot Platforms, Inc., the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -102.56%.
On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #5.
So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Riot Platforms, Inc. will beat the consensus EPS estimate.
Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue? While calculating estimates for a company's future earnings, analysts often consider to what extent it has been able to match past consensus estimates. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.
For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Riot Platforms, Inc. would post a loss of$0.33 per share when it actually produced a loss of -$1.44, delivering a surprise of -336.36%.
Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates two times.
Bottom LineAn earnings beat or miss may not be the sole basis for a stock moving higher or lower. Many stocks end up losing ground despite an earnings beat due to other factors that disappoint investors. Similarly, unforeseen catalysts help a number of stocks gain despite an earnings miss.
That said, betting on stocks that are expected to beat earnings expectations does increase the odds of success. This is why it's worth checking a company's Earnings ESP and Zacks Rank ahead of its quarterly release. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.
Riot Platforms, Inc. doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.
Expected Results of an Industry PlayerRithm (RITM - Free Report) , another stock in the Zacks Financial - Miscellaneous Services industry, is expected to report earnings per share of $0.5 for the quarter ended June 2026. This estimate points to a year-over-year change of -7.4%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $1.46 billion, up 19.9% from the year-ago quarter.
The consensus EPS estimate for Rithm has been revised 2.4% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. However, a lower Most Accurate Estimate has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -2.00%.
This Earnings ESP, combined with its Zacks Rank #4 (Sell), makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Rithm will beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates two times.
Stay on top of upcoming earnings announcements with the Zacks Earnings Calendar.
The upcoming report from Sherwin-Williams (SHW - Free Report) is expected to reveal quarterly earnings of $3.56 per share, indicating an increase of 5.3% compared to the year-ago period. Analysts forecast revenues of $6.62 billion, representing an increase of 4.8% year over year.
Over the past 30 days, the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has remained unchanged. This demonstrates the covering analysts' collective reassessment of their initial projections during this period.
Before a company announces its earnings, it is essential to take into account any changes made to earnings estimates. This is a valuable factor in predicting the potential reactions of investors toward the stock. Empirical research has consistently shown a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and the short-term price performance of a stock.
While investors typically use consensus earnings and revenue estimates as indicators of quarterly business performance, exploring analysts' projections for specific key metrics can offer valuable insights.
In light of this perspective, let's dive into the average estimates of certain Sherwin-Williams metrics that are commonly tracked and forecasted by Wall Street analysts.

The Trade Desk (TTD - Free Report) has been one of the most searched-for stocks on Zacks.com lately. So, you might want to look at some of the facts that could shape the stock's performance in the near term.
Over the past month, shares of this digital-advertising platform operator have returned -0.7%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +0.4% change. During this period, the Zacks Internet - Services industry, which The Trade Desk falls in, has lost 1.8%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction?
While media releases or rumors about a substantial change in a company's business prospects usually make its stock 'trending' and lead to an immediate price change, there are always some fundamental facts that eventually dominate the buy-and-hold decision-making.
Revisions to Earnings EstimatesHere at Zacks, we prioritize appraising the change in the projection of a company's future earnings over anything else. That's because we believe the present value of its future stream of earnings is what determines the fair value for its stock.
We essentially look at how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to reflect the impact of the latest business trends. And if earnings estimates go up for a company, the fair value for its stock goes up. A higher fair value than the current market price drives investors' interest in buying the stock, leading to its price moving higher. This is why empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.
For the current quarter, The Trade Desk is expected to post earnings of $0.41 per share, indicating no change. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed +1.3% over the last 30 days.
For the current fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $1.88 points to a change of +6.2% from the prior year. Over the last 30 days, this estimate has changed +0.1%.
For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $2.12 indicates a change of +12.8% from what The Trade Desk is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed -0.4%.
With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for The Trade Desk.
The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate:
12 Month EPS
Projected Revenue GrowthEven though a company's earnings growth is arguably the best indicator of its financial health, nothing much happens if it cannot raise its revenues. It's almost impossible for a company to grow its earnings without growing its revenue for long periods. Therefore, knowing a company's potential revenue growth is crucial.
In the case of The Trade Desk, the consensus sales estimate of $751.58 million for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +8.3%. The $3.18 billion and $3.49 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +9.8% and +9.6%, respectively.
Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryThe Trade Desk reported revenues of $688.86 million in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +11.8%. EPS of $0.28 for the same period compares with $0.33 a year ago.
Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $679.26 million, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +1.41%. The EPS surprise was -12.5%.
Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed EPS estimates just once. The company topped consensus revenue estimates each time over this period.
ValuationNo investment decision can be efficient without considering a stock's valuation. Whether a stock's current price rightly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects is an essential determinant of its future price performance.
Comparing the current value of a company's valuation multiples, such as its price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), to its own historical values helps ascertain whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, whereas comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of how reasonable its stock price is.
As part of the Zacks Style Scores system, the Zacks Value Style Score (which evaluates both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics) organizes stocks into five groups ranging from A to F (A is better than B; B is better than C; and so on), making it helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued.
The Trade Desk is graded A on this front, indicating that it is trading at a discount to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.
ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about The Trade Desk. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term.
SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- National shareholder rights firm Hagens Berman is investigating potential violations of U.S. securities laws by Pentair plc (NYSE: PNR) following the company’s recent announcement of a significant earnings warning, a sharp reduction in full-year guidance, and the unexpected resignation of its Chief Financial Officer. Focus of HBSS’ Pentair plc (PNR) Investigation:
On July 14, 2026, Pentair shocked investors by pre-announcing preliminary second-quarter 2026 financial results that fell substantially below consensus estimates. The company revealed that sales were expected to be approximately $930 million—a significant miss against prior forecasts of $1.14 billion.
While the company attributed the shortfall to inventory destocking in its Pool channel, Hagens Berman is investigating whether these results may have been exacerbated by undisclosed and unsustainable sales practices with its distributors – practices that may have artificially inflated the company’s revenue figures in prior reporting periods.
These concerns are compounded by the abrupt departure of CFO Nicholas Brazis, who left the company after serving in the role for only four months, raising further questions regarding the internal controls surrounding the company’s revenue recognition and sales forecasting.
Following these disclosures, Pentair slashed its full-year 2026 growth guidance, reversing its earlier projections. The news triggered an immediate and sharp decline in Pentair’s share price, resulting in a significant loss of shareholder value.
“Investors deserve transparency regarding the true health of a company’s sales channels,” said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm’s investigation. “We are looking into whether the company may have utilized unsustainable practices with distributors to meet short term internal targets.”

On July 14, 2026, Pentair issued a press release announcing its preliminary second quarter 2026 financial results and revising its full year 2026 guidance. For the second quarter, Pentair reported that "[s]ales are expected to be approximately $930 million, down 17 percent versus previous guide of up approximately 1 percent primarily due to the adverse impact of Pool channel inventory" and that "[e]arnings per diluted share from continuing operations ('EPS') are expected to be approximately $0.80 versus previous guidance of $1.39 to $1.42; Adjusted EPS is expected to be approximately $1.12 versus previous guide of $1.47 to $1.50 as the result of the adverse impact of Pool channel inventory and the positive impact of IEEPA refunds". Pentair also lowered its full year 2026 guidance, advising that "[s]ales are expected to be down approximately 4 percent to 7 percent versus previous guide of up 2 percent to 4 percent mostly attributable to destocking of inventory in the Pool channel and right sizing of channel inventory in preparation for the 2027 pool season". The press release also announced the departure of Chief Financial Officer Nicholas Brazis, "to pursue another opportunity at a private company."
On this news, Pentair's stock price fell $11.35 per share, or 15%, to close at $64.33 per share on July 15, 2026.

Factors Likely to Have Shaped Pentair’s Q2 PerformanceLast week, Pentair released preliminary second-quarter 2026 results and lowered its full-year guidance, citing weaker-than-expected performance in its Pool business. This was attributed to a sharper-than-anticipated inventory correction by major channel partners, along with softer end-market demand amid elevated interest rates and persistent inflation.
Second-quarter sales are now expected to be approximately $930 million, representing a 17% decline year over year in contrast to the prior outlook of 1% growth.
The company estimates that Pool channel destocking reduced the segment's sales by approximately $170 million and operating income by about $105 million. In contrast, the Flow and Water Solutions segments are expected to have performed broadly in line with previous guidance.
The company expects the Water Solutions segment’s second-quarter 2026 sales to be down in low single digits, with flat organic sales growth. The Flow segment’s sales are expected to have been up in high single digits. The Hydra-Stop acquisition is expected to have contributed approximately $10 million of sales.
The company expects adjusted operating income to be approximately $235 million, suggesting a 21% decline from the $297 million in the year-ago quarter. This reflects the impact of the inventory corrections, somewhat offset by the recoveries of tariffs collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). Pentair’s previous guidance had factored in 5-6% year-over-year growth.
Adjusted earnings per share for the second quarter are now expected to be around $1.12, which reflects a year-over-year plunge of 19%, compared with the earlier guidance of $1.47-$1.50. The second-quarter results are expected to include approximately $35 million of IEEPA refunds.
Pentair also stated that it had repurchased approximately 2 million shares for $150 million during the April to June 2026 period.
PNR Stock Price PerformancePentair shares have declined 38.7% over the past year compared with the industry’s 10.5% decline.

Broader HVP Growth Despite Cost PressuresCFO Robert (Bob) McMahon said increased guidance is driven by higher growth expectations for the non-GLP-1 portion of HVP components as well as an increase in HVP delivery devices.
The company anticipates both GLP-1 and non-GLP-1 HVP components are now expected to grow in the high teens for the year.
From a margin perspective, West Pharma is experiencing some inflationary pressure from higher oil and commodity prices, and it is working to offset those costs.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania--(Newsfile Corp. - July 23, 2026) - National plaintiffs' law firm Berger Montague PC announces a class action lawsuit against Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) ("Lucid" or the "Company") on behalf of investors who purchased or acquired Lucid common stock during the period from February 25, 2026 through April 13, 2026 (the "Class Period").
Investor Deadline: Investors who purchased or acquired Lucid common stock during the Class Period may, no later than July 28, 2026, seek to be appointed as a lead plaintiff representative of the class. To learn your rights, CLICK HERE.
Lucid, based in Newark, California, is an electric vehicle and technology company that engineers its EVs, powertrains, and battery systems in-house.
According to the complaint, Defendants withheld from investors that a defect in a vendor-supplied component was already interrupting deliveries of the Lucid Gravity, the Company's SUV, and that the disruption would, and in fact did, adversely impact Lucid's operating results for Q1 2026.
The true state of Lucid's operations began to surface on April 3, 2026, when the Company released its Q1 2026 production and delivery figures and reported that it had built 5,500 vehicles for the quarter but handed over only 3,093, explaining that Lucid Gravity deliveries had been halted for 29 days because of a quality problem with the second-row seats supplied by a vendor. Reuters reported the same day that the slowdown traced back to February 2026, when Lucid had stopped deliveries to undo a supplier change it had not authorized and to re-inspect cars it had already assembled. Over the next two trading sessions, Lucid's stock fell $1.13 per share, or 11.35%, closing at $8.83 per share on April 7, 2026.
More bad news followed on April 14, 2026, when Lucid disclosed preliminary Q1 2026 revenue of roughly $280 million to $284 million — far short of the $433.8 million analysts had expected — alongside operating losses of approximately $985 million to $1.005 billion. The Company separately announced that it would raise about $1.05 billion in fresh capital, including a $300 million stock offering. Lucid's shares declined another $0.44 per share, or 4.76%, to close at $8.80 per share on April 14, 2026.

Lucid is a technology company that designs, develops, manufactures, and sells electric vehicles, EV powertrains, and battery systems. The Company's products include, inter alia, the "Lucid Air" sedan and "Lucid Gravity" sport utility vehicle.
At all relevant times, Defendants touted purported enhancements to Lucid's manufacturing and delivery capabilities and overall operations. In particular, beginning in late-February 2026, Defendants represented that, in fiscal year ("FY") 2025, they had implemented sustainable improvements in these areas, including with respect to the production and ramp-up of deliveries of the Lucid Gravity. Defendants likewise asserted that these improvements would lead to profitable growth and performance efficiencies in FY 2026. Unbeknownst to investors, however, Lucid's performance was materially hampered by significant supplier and delivery issues in February 2026, putting the Company on track for dismal, rather than improved, performance in its first quarter ("Q1") of 2026.
The complaint alleges that, throughout the Class Period, Defendants made materially false and misleading statements regarding the Company's business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) a supplier quality issue had significantly disrupted deliveries of the Lucid Gravity; (ii) the foregoing was likely to, and did, have a material negative impact on the Company's business and financial results; (iii) accordingly, the Defendants had overstated the purported enhancements to Lucid's manufacturing and delivery capabilities and overall operations; and (iv) as a result, Defendants' public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times.
The truth began to emerge on April 3, 2026, when Lucid issued a press release "announc[ing its Q1 2026] production and delivery totals[.]" Lucid revealed that it had "produced 5,500 vehicles" during Q1 2026, while only "deliver[ing] 3,093 vehicles." The press release further disclosed that, "[d]uring the quarter, deliveries of the Lucid Gravity were disrupted for 29 days due to a supplier quality issue with the second-row seats" and, "[a]s a result of this, the company's ability to meet customer demand was impacted."
The same day, Reuters published an article entitled "Lucid misses first-quarter vehicle delivery estimates on supplier disruptions". The article provided additional color and comments from Defendant Marc Winterhoff ("Winterhoff"), the Company's Interim Chief Executive Officer ("CEO"), regarding Lucid's disappointing Q1 2026 delivery results—most notably that deliveries were particularly impacted over a month earlier in February 2026, when Lucid paused to reverse an unauthorized supplier change and inspect vehicles already produced.
The next trading day, April 6, 2026, 24/7 Wall St. published an article entitled "Lucid Faces Biggest Disaster Ever", which described the number of vehicles that Lucid delivered in Q1 2026 as "remarkably small", stating that Lucid "cannot sell fewer than 4,000 vehicles and even pretend this is sustainable."
Following the foregoing news and disclosures, Lucid's stock price fell $1.13 per share, or 11.35%, over the following two trading sessions, to close at $8.83 per share on April 7, 2026.
On April 14, 2026, Lucid filed a current report on Form 8-K with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission ("U.S."), reporting, inter alia, its preliminary Q1 2026 financial results, including revenue in the range of $280 million to $284 million—well below the consensus estimate of $433.8 million—and losses from operations in the range of $985 million to $1.005 billion.
The same day, Lucid issued a press release revealing its plans for a $1.05 billion capital raise, including a $300 million public stock offering.
Following these disclosures, Lucid's stock price fell $0.44 per share, or 4.76%, to close at $8.80 per share on April 14, 2026.
Then, on May 5, 2026, Lucid issued a press release reporting its Q1 2026 financial results, including GAAP earnings per share of -$3.46, missing consensus estimates by $0.83, a net loss of over $1 billion, and revenue of $282.47 million, missing consensus estimates by $76.04 million. Defendant Winterhoff, as quoted in the press release, acknowledged that the previously disclosed "supplier issue . . . during the quarter had an impact," and the need to "align[] production and delivery with customer demand." Lucid's Chief Financial Officer, Defendant Taoufiq Boussaid, as quoted in the same press release, likewise acknowledged that "[w]e ended the quarter with elevated inventory that we expect to convert to revenue and cash as deliveries normalize[.]"

Notice to Institutional Holders
Pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, and registered investment advisors that purchased LCID securities during the Class Period should assess whether fiduciary obligations require evaluation of recovery options on behalf of beneficiaries and fund participants. The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 grants institutional investors with substantial losses a procedural advantage in seeking lead plaintiff appointment, and courts have consistently recognized the value of institutional oversight in securities class actions.
Fiduciary Obligations and Recovery Options
Institutional holders owe a duty of prudence that may encompass evaluating litigation recovery opportunities when portfolio companies are subject to securities fraud allegations The PSLRA's "largest financial interest" standard for lead plaintiff selection favors institutional investors with significant documented losses Lead plaintiff appointment provides direct oversight of litigation strategy, settlement negotiations, and counsel selection without requiring additional out-of-pocket expense Fiduciaries who fail to investigate recovery options following known securities fraud allegations may face questions from beneficiaries and plan participants Participation as lead plaintiff does not increase an institution's individual recovery but ensures the class action is managed with institutional-grade diligence Multiple institutional co-lead plaintiffs may be appointed where appropriate Contact us to learn more about institutional recovery options or call (888) SueWallSt.
Portfolio Impact Assessment
The lawsuit contends that Lucid's management made materially misleading representations about manufacturing stability and delivery capabilities throughout the Class Period, while a significant supplier quality defect involving unauthorized component changes and safety-standard failures was already disrupting operations. According to the action, the gap between production (5,500 vehicles) and deliveries (3,093 vehicles) in Q1 2026 reflected a breakdown that management allegedly knew about as early as February 2026 but did not disclose until April.
"Institutional investors play a critical role in securities class actions. Their participation strengthens class representation and ensures that litigation is conducted with the rigor and oversight that benefits all shareholders who were harmed by alleged misrepresentations about Lucid's operational readiness." — Joseph E. Levi, Esq.
Case Summary
The securities action alleges violations of Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 on behalf of purchasers of LCID securities between February 25, 2026 and April 13, 2026. The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Class members who do not apply may still participate in any recovery without taking action before this date.

Critical Information: ZoomInfo's $1.98 Per-Share Loss Quantifies Alleged Investor Damages as Market Repriced GTM Shares Following Corrective Disclosure
, /PRNewswire/ -- SueWallSt reminds purchasers of ZoomInfo Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTM) securities of a pending securities class action.
THE CASE: A class action seeks to recover damages for investors who purchased GTM securities between November 3, 2025 and May 11, 2026.

Shares declined $1.98 per share, a loss of approximately 33%, after ZoomInfo reported first quarter 2026 results and slashed its full-year financial guidance. The last day to move for lead plaintiff is August 24, 2026.
From a closing price of $6.04 on May 11, 2026, ZoomInfo Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTM) shares collapsed to $4.06 by the following trading session, erasing approximately one-third of the Company's equity value as the market stripped out what the lawsuit alleges was artificial inflation sustained by materially misleading growth projections.
The May 11, 2026 After-Hours Disclosure
After the market closed on May 11, 2026, ZoomInfo released first quarter 2026 financial results that revealed a sharp deterioration in the Company's growth trajectory. The filing states that the Company lowered its 2026 full-year revenue guidance, reversing the revenue outlook that defendants had repeatedly affirmed during the Class Period. The market responded immediately: GTM shares opened the next trading day at a steep discount, reflecting the removal of what the action contends was artificial price inflation.
Alleged Investor Damages and Loss Causation
The securities action asserts that throughout the Class Period, ZoomInfo's stock traded at prices inflated by management's optimistic representations about legacy platform retention, AI product adoption, and sustainable revenue growth. When the corrective disclosure eliminated the informational asymmetry between insiders and the investing public, the market repriced GTM shares to reflect the Company's actual condition.
Pre-disclosure closing price on May 11, 2026: $6.04 per share Post-disclosure closing price on May 12, 2026: $4.06 per share Per-share decline: $1.98 Percentage decline: approximately 33% The complaint contends that the corrective disclosure caused the artificial inflation in ZoomInfo's stock price to decline Investors who purchased ZoomInfo shares during the Class Period allegedly paid prices that were artificially inflated by the defendants' alleged misrepresentations and omissions What the Disclosure Revealed
As set forth in the complaint, the May 11 disclosure contradicted months of statements projecting sustained growth and improving retention trends. Revenue guidance that had been set at $1.247 billion to $1.267 billion was cut, signaling that the trajectory management had described was not materializing. The market's swift repricing indicates that investors treated the prior guidance as material to their investment decisions.
"When companies fail to disclose material information, shareholders may suffer significant losses. The magnitude of ZoomInfo's single-day decline suggests the market viewed the prior optimistic statements as integral to the stock's valuation." -- Joseph E. Levi, Esq.

Over the last 30 days, there has been an upward revision of 0.4% in the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter, leading to its current level. This signifies the covering analysts' collective reconsideration of their initial forecasts over the course of this timeframe.
Prior to a company's earnings release, it is of utmost importance to factor in any revisions made to the earnings projections. These revisions serve as a critical gauge for predicting potential investor behaviors with respect to the stock. Empirical studies consistently reveal a strong link between trends in earnings estimate revisions and the short-term price performance of a stock.
While investors typically use consensus earnings and revenue estimates as indicators of quarterly business performance, exploring analysts' projections for specific key metrics can offer valuable insights.
In light of this perspective, let's dive into the average estimates of certain Corning metrics that are commonly tracked and forecasted by Wall Street analysts.

Wix.com (WIX - Free Report) is one of the stocks most watched by Zacks.com visitors lately. So, it might be a good idea to review some of the factors that might affect the near-term performance of the stock.
Shares of this cloud-based web development company have returned +14.2% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +0.4% change. The Zacks Computers - IT Services industry, to which Wix.com belongs, has lost 1.5% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term?
Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision.
Earnings Estimate RevisionsRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings.
For the current quarter, Wix.com is expected to post earnings of $1.16 per share, indicating a change of -49.1% from the year-ago quarter. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed -20.7% over the last 30 days.
The consensus earnings estimate of $4.57 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of -37.6%. This estimate has changed -4.2% over the last 30 days.
For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $7.04 indicates a change of +54% from what Wix.com is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed -1.7%.
Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, Wix.com is rated Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate:
12 Month EPS
Projected Revenue GrowthWhile earnings growth is arguably the most superior indicator of a company's financial health, nothing happens as such if a business isn't able to grow its revenues. After all, it's nearly impossible for a company to increase its earnings for an extended period without increasing its revenues. So, it's important to know a company's potential revenue growth.
For Wix.com, the consensus sales estimate for the current quarter of $555.64 million indicates a year-over-year change of +13.4%. For the current and next fiscal years, $2.26 billion and $2.53 billion estimates indicate +13.2% and +12.3% changes, respectively.
Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryWix.com reported revenues of $541.17 million in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +14.3%. EPS of $0.68 for the same period compares with $1.55 a year ago.
Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $543.79 million, the reported revenues represent a surprise of -0.48%. The EPS surprise was -43.8%.
Over the last four quarters, Wix.com surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times. The company topped consensus revenue estimates two times over this period.
ValuationNo investment decision can be efficient without considering a stock's valuation. Whether a stock's current price rightly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects is an essential determinant of its future price performance.
While comparing the current values of a company's valuation multiples, such as price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), with its own historical values helps determine whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of the reasonability of the stock's price.
The Zacks Value Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which pays close attention to both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics to grade stocks from A to F (an A is better than a B; a B is better than a C; and so on), is pretty helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued.
Wix.com is graded C on this front, indicating that it is trading at par with its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.
Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about Wix.com. However, its Zacks Rank #3 does suggest that it may perform in line with the broader market in the near term.
SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Investors in Wix.com Ltd. (NASDAQ: WIX) saw the price of their shares tank $20.56 (-27%) on May 13, 2026, wiping out over $1.1 billion of the company’s market capitalization, after Wix announced its Q1 2026 financial results and a massive 46% year-over-year increase in operating expenses and questions over the company’s ability to defend its core business.
The news and severe market reaction have prompted national shareholder rights law firm Hagens Berman to open an investigation into whether Wix may have misled investors about the nature of its spending and, if so, whether the federal securities laws may have been violated. The firm urges Wix investors who suffered significant losses to contact the firm now to discuss their rights.
Wix.com Ltd. (WIX) Investigation:
Global web development platform company Wix faces AI disruption concerns over whether traditional website builders can maintain competitive moats as AI-native tools proliferate and enable non-technical users to create web presence without needing platforms like Wix.
To confront this challenge, Wix positioned AI initiatives, Base44 and Harmony, as a two-pronged defense against the vibe coding trend threatening the company’s core business.
The company has assured investors that “[w]e expect innovation-driven growth to be accompanied by high impact but disciplined investments to fully unlock the market opportunity ahead for both Wix and Base44.”
In contrast, investors’ expectations were dashed on May 13, 2026. That day, Wix revealed aggressive and front-loaded AI compute expenses for Harmony and Base44. More specifically, the rapid expansion of Base44 and Harmony rollout radically altered Wix’s cost structure primarily through front-loading sales and marketing (“S&M”) expenses. Collectively, the initiatives drove non-GAAP S&M expenses to $190.7 million, a year-over-year 88% increase that caused the company’s non-GAAP operating margin to collapse from 21% during the prior year period to just 5% while sending its quarterly operating expenses up 46% from the prior year period.
The market swiftly reacted, scalping over $1.1 billion from Wix’s market capitalization that day and prompting analysts’ surprise over the magnitude of the margin miss.
“We’re investigating whether Wix may have intentionally understated the adverse effects of its AI initiatives on its operating results,” said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm’s investigation.

The market expects Sirius XM (SIRI - Free Report) to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended June 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.
The stock might move higher if these key numbers top expectations in the upcoming earnings report, which is expected to be released on July 30. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.
While the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call, it's worth handicapping the probability of a positive EPS surprise.
Zacks Consensus EstimateThis satellite radio company is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.78 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +36.8%.
Revenues are expected to be $2.14 billion, up 0.1% from the year-ago quarter.
Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has remained unchanged over the last 30 days. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.
Investors should keep in mind that an aggregate change may not always reflect the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts.
How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Sirius XM?For Sirius XM, the Most Accurate Estimate is higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bullish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of +2.56%.
On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.
So, this combination indicates that Sirius XM will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate.
Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.
For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Sirius XM would post earnings of $0.7 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.72, delivering a surprise of +2.86%.
Over the last four quarters, the company has beaten consensus EPS estimates three times.
Sirius XM appears a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.

This popular metric is similar to the widely-known P/E ratio, with the difference being that the PEG ratio also takes into account the company's expected earnings growth rate. LTM's industry currently sports an average PEG of 0.48. Within the past year, LTM's PEG has been as high as 0.85 and as low as 0.37, with a median of 0.57.
Investors could also keep in mind Southwest Airlines (LUV - Free Report) , another Transportation - Airline stock with a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy) and Value grade of A.
Shares of Southwest Airlines are currently trading at a forward earnings multiple of 15.65 and a PEG ratio of 0.40 compared to its industry's P/E and PEG ratios of 10.58 and 0.48, respectively.
LUV's Forward P/E has been as high as 43.19 and as low as 12.29, with a median of 18.66. During the same time period, its PEG ratio has been as high as 6.49, as low as 0.39, with a median of 2.95.
Southwest Airlines sports a P/B ratio of 2.13 as well; this compares to its industry's price-to-book ratio of 3.06. In the past 52 weeks, LUV's P/B has been as high as 2.47, as low as 1.46, with a median of 1.90.
These are just a handful of the figures considered in LATAM Airlines Group and Southwest Airlines's great Value grade. Still, they help show that the stock is likely being undervalued at the moment. Add this to the strength of its earnings outlook, and we can clearly see that LTM and LUV is an impressive value stock right now.
Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL | DELL Price Prediction | DELL Price Prediction) has quietly become one of the most important AI infrastructure names on the market. Shares have ripped 224% higher year to date, and the last earnings report made clear why.
AI-optimized server revenue jumped 757% year over year to $16.13 billion in a single quarter, and Dell booked $24.4 billion in AI orders in that same three-month window. I think $525 by this time next year is the target.
Why Dell Shares Have Cooled Off in the Last Month Dell has cooled recently. Shares are down 11.53% over the past week and 1.15% over the past month, cooling from a 52-week high of $468.70. The reason is straightforward.
Gross margin compressed to 17.8% from 21.1% as AI servers, which carry lower margins than legacy hardware, took over the revenue mix. With a beta of 1.376, shares swing harder than the market in both directions. Investors are wrestling with whether Dell is a fat-margin IT vendor or a thin-margin AI systems integrator. That debate is capping the multiple.
Wall Street Sees Roughly 24% Upside. Our Model Sees More The Street is constructive. Analyst consensus sits at $501.04, with 5 Strong Buys, 14 Buys, 8 Holds, and zero Sells. Our base case lands at $487.57, implying 20.64% upside with a bull case of $507.78. Confidence on the model reads 0.9, or high.
Consensus is directionally right but hasn’t fully priced the earnings acceleration. With 70% of analysts bullish and quarterly EPS growing 2.825x year over year, estimates should keep chasing reality higher.
The Path to $525 Per Share Reaching $525 from today’s price of $404.15 requires a gain of 29.9%. With forward EPS of $18.20, a price of $525 implies a forward P/E of 29x. Our base case of $487.57 already implies roughly 30x, so the bold target simply needs earnings to deliver, not additional multiple expansion.
Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Dell Technologies didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.
Dell’s FY27 guidance calls for non-GAAP EPS of $17.90 at the midpoint, up 74% year over year, and revenue between $165 billion and $169 billion. Full-year AI-optimized server revenue is guided to approximately $60 billion, up 144%. CEO Jeff Clarke framed the setup bluntly on the last call: “Our momentum in AI is unmatched.”
With over 3,000 enterprise AI customers and a five-quarter pipeline running at multiples of backlog, the earnings power is real. The primary risk is margin compression outpacing volume growth if AI mix accelerates too fast.
Where Dell Trades Today vs Its Earnings Power At $404.15, Dell trades at roughly 22x forward EPS of $18.20, versus a trailing P/E of 30x. Shares sit between a 52-week low of $109.70 and a high of $468.70. Over ten years, the stock has returned 1,980.61%.
A 22x forward multiple on a business growing earnings 74% is arguably cheap relative to peers generating a fraction of that growth. The PEG ratio at 0.65 tells the same story.
Is $525 Realistic? My Verdict $525 requires a 29.9% gain and a forward P/E of 28.8x. I think it’s realistic.
For it to happen, three things need to go right: Dell needs to convert the $43 billion AI backlog without slippage, gross margin needs to stabilize as ISG operating leverage kicks in, and analysts need to keep revising estimates higher. A sharp slowdown in hyperscaler AI capex would derail it. We’ve outlined the blueprint for how Dell Technologies could reach $525 in 2027.

Philippe Laffont’s Coatue Management just showed its hand: the latest 13F filing (holdings as of March 31, 2026) parks its biggest chips on a single trade: the AI infrastructure buildout. The five names below, all US-listed, represent Laffont’s largest long common-stock and ADR positions. One of them just booked $10.80 billion in AI semiconductor revenue in a single quarter, growing 143% year-over-year. The setup is worth understanding before it reprices.
1. GE Vernova (GEV): The Non-Obvious Power Play Every AI accelerator on this list is useless without electrons. That is why GE Vernova (NYSE:GEV | GEV Price Prediction) is the most surprising name in Laffont’s tech basket: it sits one level upstream of the chips, building the gas turbines, grid equipment, and electrification hardware that hyperscalers are now ordering by the gigawatt. This is the AI trade one level upstream of NVIDIA. Q1 2026 revenue rose 15.8% year-over-year to $9.30 billion, but the real signal was orders: $18.30 billion, up 71% organically, with Electrification booking $2.4 billion in data center equipment orders in Q1 alone, more than all of 2025. CEO Scott Strazik put it plainly: “Demand is accelerating for our Power and Electrification solutions… backlog growing by more than $13 billion quarter-over-quarter.”
The stock is up 58.84% year-to-date and our model reads it as a HOLD with a base case of $1,098.40 (4.44% upside): the easy money has been made, but the bull case still points to $1,269.82 (20.74% upside) if data center power orders keep compounding. Analysts remain 79% bullish. Next up, the name that turns those electrons into revenue.
2. Broadcom (AVGO): The Custom-Silicon Cash Machine Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) is the hyperscaler whisperer. Its custom ASICs and AI networking silicon sit inside the largest cloud training clusters on earth, and the demand curve has gone vertical. If Laffont is playing the AI infrastructure trade, this is the ticker with the shortest distance between order book and free cash flow.
Fiscal Q2 2026 revenue hit $22.19 billion, up 47.9% year-over-year, with free cash flow of $10.26 billion, or 46% of revenue. CEO Hock Tan guided Q3 AI semiconductor revenue to “grow over 200 percent year-over-year to $16.0 billion.” Add the $30 billion+ Apple custom AI chip deal locked in through 2031 and the $100 billion AI revenue target by 2027, and the story writes itself.
Our read: BUY with a base case of $409.96 (10.7% upside), backed by 92% bullish analyst consensus and zero sell ratings across 48 analysts. Forward P/E of 21 is not demanding for a business printing 49% operating margins. The heavyweight ahead makes even Broadcom’s chips look downstream.
3. Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM): The Foundry Monopoly Every advanced AI chip Broadcom, NVIDIA, AMD, or Apple designs eventually gets etched in a Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE:TSM) fab. There is no substitute at the leading edge, and the 2nm ramp in H2 2026 is about to widen the moat further. Laffont’s position here is the purest expression of “AI has to be manufactured somewhere.”
Q2 FY2026 delivered EPS of $4.31 versus $3.89 estimated, revenue of $40.20 billion (+36.0% YoY), and gross margin expanding to 67.7%. Management guided full-year 2026 revenue growth “slightly above 40%” in USD, with 2nm debuting at 3% of wafer revenue and 7nm-and-below already at 77%.
Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.
Despite the blowout, TSM is down 6.23% over the past week as retail wrestles with a chip-sector selloff, one r/stockmarket thread titled “TSMC profit jumped 77% and still stock is down 4-5%” captured the confusion. Our model calls it a BUY with 23.32% upside to $489.17, supported by 89% bullish analyst consensus and an average target of $498.24. The pullback is the invitation.
4. Lam Research (LRCX): The Etch and Deposition Toll Booth Every 2nm wafer TSMC ships, every HBM stack Micron and SK hynix build, every gate-all-around transistor on a next-gen accelerator: all of it flows through Lam Research (NASDAQ:LRCX) etch and deposition tools. When capex accelerates, Lam collects the toll first. Fiscal Q3 2026 delivered its 4th consecutive earnings beat with non-GAAP EPS of $1.47 versus $1.36 estimated, revenue of $5.84 billion (+23.8% YoY), and operating margin expanding to 35.0%. CEO Tim Archer said it directly: “Lam delivered record revenue and EPS in the March quarter as AI-driven demand reshapes the semiconductor industry.” June-quarter guidance calls for ~$6.60 billion revenue and ~$1.65 non-GAAP EPS.
LRCX has run 87.85% year-to-date and 221.54% over one year, so the entry is not cheap. Our read: BUY with a base case of $351.60 (13.54% upside), backed by 83% bullish analysts and only one sell rating out of 35. The bull case reaches $459.94 (48.52% upside) if the equipment cycle extends. Which brings us to the #5 slot, where the equipment story lands hardest.
5. Applied Materials (AMAT): The Punchline Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) is the punchline because it sells the deposition, etch, and inspection tools that make Gate-All-Around transistors, HBM stacks, and advanced packaging physically possible, and it partners with the entire cast: TSMC, SK hynix, Micron, and NVIDIA through its EPIC Center. Laffont owns the toolmaker that touches every chip on this list.
Fiscal Q2 2026 posted its 4th consecutive earnings beat with non-GAAP EPS of $2.86 versus $2.66 estimated and revenue of $7.91 billion (+11.4% YoY). CEO Gary Dickerson raised the bar: “Applied Materials delivered record quarterly performance, and we now expect our semiconductor equipment business to grow more than 30 percent in calendar 2026.” Q3 guidance calls for ~$8.95 billion revenue and ~$3.36 non-GAAP EPS.
The stock has already gone parabolic, up 118.81% year-to-date and 190.09% over one year. Our model still tags it a BUY with a base case of $589.60 (11.89% upside), and the bull case reaches $773.43 (46.78% upside), on 82% bullish analyst consensus and a $623.06 target. When a mega-cap grows equipment revenue 30%+ into a 2nm ramp, that is the setup.
The Thread That Ties It Together Laffont’s five names form a closed loop: GEV powers the data centers, TSMC fabricates the chips, Lam and Applied Materials build the tools that make the fabs work, and Broadcom monetizes the custom silicon inside every hyperscaler rack. Four of the five register as BUY signals in our model, with GEV cooling to HOLD after its 58.84% YTD run. The recent semiconductor pullback is the window, and windows in this trade have not stayed open long.

TJX (TJX - Free Report) has recently been on Zacks.com's list of the most searched stocks. Therefore, you might want to consider some of the key factors that could influence the stock's performance in the near future.
Over the past month, shares of this parent of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and other stores have returned -5.9%, compared to the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +0.4% change. During this period, the Zacks Retail - Discount Stores industry, which TJX falls in, has lost 1.5%. The key question now is: What could be the stock's future direction?
Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision.
Revisions to Earnings EstimatesRather than focusing on anything else, we at Zacks prioritize evaluating the change in a company's earnings projection. This is because we believe the fair value for its stock is determined by the present value of its future stream of earnings.
Our analysis is essentially based on how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to take the latest business trends into account. When earnings estimates for a company go up, the fair value for its stock goes up as well. And when a stock's fair value is higher than its current market price, investors tend to buy the stock, resulting in its price moving upward. Because of this, empirical studies indicate a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and short-term stock price movements.
TJX is expected to post earnings of $1.17 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +6.4%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged.
The consensus earnings estimate of $5.17 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of +9.3%. This estimate has remained unchanged over the last 30 days.
For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $5.67 indicates a change of +9.7% from what TJX is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has remained unchanged.
Having a strong externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, offers a more conclusive picture of a stock's price direction in the near term, since it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. Due to the size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, TJX is rated Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
In the case of TJX, the consensus sales estimate of $15.12 billion for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +5%. The $63.9 billion and $67.42 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +5.9% and +5.5%, respectively.
Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryTJX reported revenues of $14.32 billion in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +9.2%. EPS of $1.19 for the same period compares with $0.92 a year ago.
Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $14 billion, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +2.32%. The EPS surprise was +17.82%.
The company beat consensus EPS estimates in each of the trailing four quarters.
TJX is graded D on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.
Bottom LineThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about TJX. However, its Zacks Rank #2 does suggest that it may outperform the broader market in the near term.
Wall Street analysts forecast that Mondelez (MDLZ - Free Report) will report quarterly earnings of $0.67 per share in its upcoming release, pointing to a year-over-year decline of 8.2%. It is anticipated that revenues will amount to $9.21 billion, exhibiting an increase of 2.5% compared to the year-ago quarter.
The current level reflects a downward revision of 6.8% in the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter over the past 30 days. This demonstrates how the analysts covering the stock have collectively reappraised their initial projections over this period.
Ahead of a company's earnings disclosure, it is crucial to give due consideration to changes in earnings estimates. These revisions serve as a noteworthy factor in predicting potential investor reactions to the stock. Numerous empirical studies consistently demonstrate a strong relationship between trends in earnings estimate revision and the short-term price performance of a stock.
While investors usually depend on consensus earnings and revenue estimates to assess the business performance for the quarter, delving into analysts' forecasts for certain key metrics often provides a more comprehensive understanding.
Given this perspective, it's time to examine the average forecasts of specific Mondelez metrics that are routinely monitored and predicted by Wall Street analysts.
The consensus estimate for 'Geographic Revenue- North America' stands at $2.58 billion. The estimate suggests a change of +0.9% year over year.

VALE S.A. (VALE - Free Report) is one of the stocks most watched by Zacks.com visitors lately. So, it might be a good idea to review some of the factors that might affect the near-term performance of the stock.
Shares of this company have returned +0.1% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's +0.4% change. The Zacks Mining - Iron industry, to which VALE belongs, has lost 5.5% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term?
VALE is expected to post earnings of $0.39 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of -22%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate has changed -10.2%.
The consensus earnings estimate of $1.98 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of +8.8%. This estimate has changed -7.8% over the last 30 days.
For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $2.14 indicates a change of +8% from what VALE is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed -4%.

Factors Likely to Have Shaped Vale's Q2 PerformanceVale recently released its second-quarter production and sales update, offering an insight into its expected quarterly performance.
Iron ore production was 84.3 Mt, a 0.8% year-over-year increase. This performance was driven by record output at the S11D mine as well as the ramp-up of the Capanema and VGR1 projects. Pellet production was down 7% year over year to 7.3 Mt, owing to the temporary suspension of production at the Oman pellet plants amid the Middle East conflict and the associated logistical constraints.
Iron ore fines sales grew 3.4% from the year-ago quarter to 69.9 Mt. Pellet sales increased 3.5% to 7.7 Mt. Total iron ore sales rose 3% year over year to 79.7 Mt, reflecting the sale of inventories from previous periods and higher production.
Average realized iron ore fines prices were $95 per ton in the quarter, up 11.6% year over year. Realized prices for iron ore pellets were up 2% to $137 per ton.
Copper production was up 6.3% year over year to 98.4 kt. Record production at Salobo and improved performance at Sossego and Voisey’s Bay led to the year-over-year improvement. Vale sold 97.6 kt of copper in the second quarter, which was 9.7% higher than the prior-year quarter, in line with the production increase.
The average realized price for copper operations only (Salobo and Sossego) was $14,062 per ton, marking a 56.5% year-over-year surge. The average realized copper price for all operations (including copper sales originating from nickel operations) was $14,095 per ton.
Nickel production for the quarter was 42 kt, up 4.2% year over year. Higher output from Onça Puma as well as record production at Long Harbour helped offset the impact of the biennial planned maintenance at Sudbury downstream facilities.
Nickel sales were recorded at 44.4 kt, up 7.2% from the year-ago quarter. The average realized nickel price was $18,061 per ton, up 14.3% from the year-ago quarter.
Revenues for the Iron Solutions segment are expected to have benefited from higher iron ore volumes and improved pricing. Higher volumes and prices for both copper and nickel are also expected to have boosted the Base Metals segment’s revenues.
While Vale’s top-line results are expected to reflect higher sales volumes and prices, elevated operating costs are likely to have weighed on its earnings. Vale’s ongoing cost-control initiatives are expected to have cushioned some of the impact.
VALE Stock’s Price Performance & ValuationIn a year, shares of Vale have gained 45.2% compared with the industry’s 38.9% growth.

It doesn't matter your age or experience: taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for all investors. Luckily, Zacks Premium offers several different ways to do both.
The research service features daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, all of which will help you become a smarter, more confident investor.
It also includes access to the Zacks Style Scores.
What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores is a unique set of guidelines that rates stocks based on three popular investing types, and were developed as complementary indicators for the Zacks Rank. This combination helps investors choose securities with the highest chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.
Value ScoreFinding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value, are what value investors like to focus on. So, the Value Style Score takes into account ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to highlight the most attractive and discounted stocks.
Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time.
Momentum ScoreMomentum traders and investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." This investing style is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Employing factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, the Momentum Style Score can indicate favorable times to build a position in high-momentum stocks.
VGM ScoreIf you want a combination of all three Style Scores, then the VGM Score will be your friend. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, helping you find the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. It's also one of the best indicators to use with the Zacks Rank.
How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.
#1 (Strong Buy) stocks have produced an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988, which is more than double the S&P 500's performance over the same time frame. However, the Zacks Rank examines a ton of stocks, and there can be more than 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, and another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.
But it can feel overwhelming to pick the right stocks for you and your investing goals with over 800 top-rated stocks to choose from.
That's where the Style Scores come in.
To maximize your returns, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. This means picking stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you find yourself looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, make sure they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible.
The direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should always be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy, since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank.
Stock to Watch: DocuSign (DOCU - Free Report) Founded in 2003 and headquartered in San Francisco, Docusign is a global provider of cloud-based software. The company’s Docusign Agreement Cloud is a cloud software suite that automates and connects the entire agreement process.
DOCU is a #3 (Hold) on the Zacks Rank, with a VGM Score of A.
It also boasts a Value Style Score of B thanks to attractive valuation metrics like a forward P/E ratio of 10.55; value investors should take notice.
Seven analysts revised their earnings estimate higher in the last 60 days for fiscal 2027, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.11 to $4.54 per share. DOCU also boasts an average earnings surprise of +8.7%.
With a solid Zacks Rank and top-tier Value and VGM Style Scores, DOCU should be on investors' short list.
Yum Brands (YUM - Free Report) is expected to deliver a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended June 2026. This widely-known consensus outlook gives a good sense of the company's earnings picture, but how the actual results compare to these estimates is a powerful factor that could impact its near-term stock price.
The earnings report, which is expected to be released on July 30, might help the stock move higher if these key numbers are better than expectations. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.
While management's discussion of business conditions on the earnings call will mostly determine the sustainability of the immediate price change and future earnings expectations, it's worth having a handicapping insight into the odds of a positive EPS surprise.
Zacks Consensus EstimateThis parent company of KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.59 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +10.4%.
Revenues are expected to be $2.18 billion, up 12.8% from the year-ago quarter.
Estimate Revisions TrendThe consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 0.62% higher over the last 30 days to the current level. This is essentially a reflection of how the covering analysts have collectively reassessed their initial estimates over this period.
Investors should keep in mind that an aggregate change may not always reflect the direction of estimate revisions by each of the covering analysts.
How Have the Numbers Shaped Up for Yum?For Yum, the Most Accurate Estimate is lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate, suggesting that analysts have recently become bearish on the company's earnings prospects. This has resulted in an Earnings ESP of -0.63%.
On the other hand, the stock currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3.
So, this combination makes it difficult to conclusively predict that Yum will beat the consensus EPS estimate.
Does Earnings Surprise History Hold Any Clue?Analysts often consider to what extent a company has been able to match consensus estimates in the past while calculating their estimates for its future earnings. So, it's worth taking a look at the surprise history for gauging its influence on the upcoming number.
For the last reported quarter, it was expected that Yum would post earnings of $1.39 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.50, delivering a surprise of +7.91%.
Yum doesn't appear a compelling earnings-beat candidate. However, investors should pay attention to other factors too for betting on this stock or staying away from it ahead of its earnings release.
An Industry Player's Expected ResultsChipotle Mexican Grill (CMG - Free Report) , another stock in the Zacks Retail - Restaurants industry, is expected to report earnings per share of $0.32 for the quarter ended June 2026. This estimate points to a year-over-year change of -3%. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be $3.32 billion, up 8.4% from the year-ago quarter.
Over the last 30 days, the consensus EPS estimate for Chipotle has been revised 0.3% up to the current level. Nevertheless, the company now has an Earnings ESP of +0.84%, reflecting a higher Most Accurate Estimate.
When combined with a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold), this Earnings ESP indicates that Chipotle will most likely beat the consensus EPS estimate. Over the last four quarters, the company surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.
Stay on top of upcoming earnings announcements with the Zacks Earnings Calendar.
Wall Street watches a company's quarterly report closely to understand as much as possible about its recent performance and what to expect going forward. Of course, one figure often stands out among the rest: earnings.
We know earnings results are vital, but how a company performs compared to bottom line expectations can be even more important when it comes to stock prices, especially in the near-term. This means that investors might want to take advantage of these earnings surprises.
Now that we know how important earnings and earnings surprises are, it's time to show investors how to take advantage of these events to boost their returns by utilizing the Zacks Earnings ESP filter.
The Zacks Earnings ESP, ExplainedThe Zacks Earnings ESP is more formally known as the Expected Surprise Prediction, and it aims to grab the inside track on the latest analyst estimate revisions ahead of a company's report. The idea is relatively intuitive as a newer projection might be based on more complete information.
The core of the ESP model is comparing the Most Accurate Estimate to the Zacks Consensus Estimate, where the resulting percentage difference between the two equals the Expected Surprise Prediction. The Zacks Rank is also factored into the ESP metric to better help find companies that appear poised to top their next bottom-line consensus estimate, which will hopefully help lift the stock price.
When we join a positive earnings ESP with a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) or stronger, stocks posted a positive bottom-line surprise 70% of the time. Plus, this system saw investors produce roughly 28% annual returns on average, according to our 10 year backtest.
Most stocks, about 60%, fall into the #3 (Hold) category, and they are expected to perform in-line with the broader market. Stocks with a #2 (Buy) and #1 (Strong Buy) rating, or the top 15% and top 5% of stocks, respectively, should outperform the market, with Strong Buy stocks outperforming more than any other rank.
Should You Consider Marriott International? The last thing we will do today, now that we have a grasp on the ESP and how powerful of a tool it can be, is to quickly look at a qualifying stock. Marriott International (MAR - Free Report) holds a #3 (Hold) at the moment and its Most Accurate Estimate comes in at $3.11 a share 11 days away from its upcoming earnings release on August 3, 2026.
MAR has an Earnings ESP figure of +1.83%, which, as explained above, is calculated by taking the percentage difference between the $3.11 Most Accurate Estimate and the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.05. Marriott International is one of a large database of stocks with positive ESPs. Make sure to utilize our Earnings ESP Filter to uncover the best stocks to buy or sell before they've reported.

Paramount+ is planning a free tier to bring in new customers. Business Insider Paramount+ is looking to level up by making more of its content free.
Paramount's flagship streamer plans to expand access to movies and shows available to people without a subscription, according to an internal presentation viewed by Business Insider.
This so-called "free front porch" feature would allow people in the US to watch select movies and shows at no cost by registering for a free account, the presentation said.
The free tier rollout is expected to begin in the third quarter with the Paramount+ mobile app, and was listed as a "Q3 Product Priority" during a town hall on Wednesday, along with a plan to test micro dramas.
Business Insider reported in January that Paramount+ was exploring a push into "free content" after viewing an internal presentation sent by Dan Reich, the Paramount+ head of global product and design.
Paramount already has free streamer Pluto TV, which it's putting on the same tech platform as its namesake streamer in a process called "convergence." Paramount+ also has had a limited selection of free TV episodes on its website.
Although paid streamers usually don't allow access to shows without a subscription, Apple TV lets users sample shows, and Business Insider reported that Disney+ is exploring free content.
Hollywood is increasingly seeing the value of free as YouTube and other free-to-access services gain viewers amid price hikes at paid streamers.
A free tier can 'drive acquisition and winbacks'Expanding the free offering on Paramount+ — which costs $8.99 a month with ads or $13.99 without ads — would give new users "less friction to browse and watch" and "more reasons to sign up," according to the presentation.
By requiring users to register with their emails to watch free content, Paramount brings potential customers one step closer to subscribing and can send them marketing emails to convince them to pay.
The slide deck said this strategy can "drive acquisition and winbacks" (bringing back past customers who've canceled) by building habits and giving them a reason to keep the Paramount+ app on their phones.
Paramount said it did A/B tests on its iOS app and found that "moving the paywall didn't harm paid starts," or new subscriptions.
Paramount+ will let users watch its short-form vertical video feed without registering or subscribing, the presentation said.
While Paramount is "defining success targets" for the free front porch with its finance and marketing teams, the presentation indicated that it will evaluate its success by seeing how many account registrations it drives and by the marketing emails that it sends.
Besides hooking potential customers on its shows, Paramount can also use its free tier to grow advertising revenue and inventory. The presentation said monetizing free content with ads was a strategic goal.
Show samples can "drive reach and visit frequency," the presentation said.
The best things in life are freeDavid Ellison's company is trying to gain ground on Netflix and take on YouTube by pushing into free streaming and short-form content, including micro dramas.
Audiences are increasingly gravitating toward free streamers, which have significantly increased their share of viewership on US TVs in recent years relative to their paid peers, according to Nielsen.
The top three free streaming services — YouTube, The Roku Channel, and Tubi — had an 18.7% viewership share on US TVs in April, the latest month that Nielsen data is available. A year earlier, that figure was 16.8%, and it was 12.7% in April 2024.
By contrast, large paid streamers like Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu have only grown their viewership shares slightly in the last two years.
Meanwhile, Paramount+ and Pluto TV have struggled in the year since April 2025, with their viewership share falling from 2.4% to 2.1% in April 2026.
