— Radix – Radically Different DeFi (@radixdlt) May 31, 2024 Radix Releases the Radix Foundry Program, Incubating dApps to Elevate On-Chain Activity In addition to the announcement of the project on X, it also published a blog post to provide details. It pointed out that within 9 months following the Babylon upgrade many entities have collected significant total value locked. It added that these entities take into account the decentralized exchanges like DeFi Plaza, Ociswap and money markets like WEFT. The respective platforms have reportedly gathered a TVL of above $30M.

In addition to this, decentralized apps like XRD Domains, Trove, and ShardSpace offer the finest experience for Web3 users. Along with that, Hug, Early, and other such meme tokens have attracted more users to the Radix ecosystem. Keeping that in view, the platform is unveiling the Radix Foundry to further the above-mentioned successes. The company brought to the front that the project focuses on incubation of the dApps among high-potential classes.

According to the platform, this development will potentially drive substantial user growth along with on-chain activity and TVL. The projects taking part in the new endeavor will reportedly get technical, business, and marketing support. In addition to offering support, RDX Works will also provide funding of nearly $250 to the participants.

The New Project Targets Fulfilling User Requirements While discussing the high-potential dApp classes, the platform disclosed up to 4 user objectives. It asserted that crypto consumers chiefly intend to hold and send value to others across the globe. The 2nd user requirement deals with the availability of liquid markets for token trading. Additionally, the users also want to earn profits on capital.

Moreover, they also intend to do all this for entertainment purposes. To meet such demands, the Radix Foundry invites proposals from all the projects in several categories. These categories include liquid staking and restaking, stablecoins and collateralized debt position, launchpad, NFT professional trading, and yield derivatives. They also include real-world assets as well as borrowing and lending money markets.

How RadQuest is Bringing New Users to DeFi With Gamification
XRD Radix
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Onboarding new users to Web3 platforms can be challenging; even experienced crypto users can find the process of getting to grips with the unique quirks of decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms a struggle—to say nothing of newcomers.

DeFi network Radix has created RadQuest, a gamified onboarding platform, to tackle the problem head on. That meant thinking “from the ground up,” about what it means to bring in both crypto-experienced users and people who are new to Web3, RDX Works Chief Product Officer Matthew Hine told Decrypt.

Above all, the onboarding process had to feel “relevant to them, not just like an info dump,” Hine explained.

RadQuest, he said, focuses on, “giving them opportunity, giving them cool, fun things that they can do that they couldn't do before,” and showcasing the Radix ecosystem’s unique features, including human-readable transactions and its Persona system.

Upon opening the app on desktop or mobile, users are presented with cards showcasing basic and advanced quests. RadQuest’s friendly mascot, Jetty, guides users through the process of setting up a wallet, staking Radix’s XRD token and using decentralized exchanges (DEXs).

Image: RadixIt’s all made possible by Radix’s simple, user-friendly interface; upon setting up and connecting your Radix Wallet, you’re invited to log in using a Persona—a Passkey-like login that’s fully decentralized and secured by the Radix Network.

Other quests showcase tools like JettySwap, an exchange for “toy assets” that lets users “experience the things that you can use on a real DEX,” and Radix’s human-readable transactions. This feature does away with complex interfaces and hurdles such as blind signing and public keys, presenting the steps of a transaction in a clear, comprehensible summary view.

Image: Radix“None of the transaction summary information in the wallet relies on trusting RadQuest,” Hine said. “It’s just parsing the actual transaction that's going to be submitted to the network—and that’s not special to RadQuests. All the transactions you do on the Radix Network are that human readable.”

It’s RadMorphin’ timeThe centerpiece of RadQuest’s gamified onboarding process is RadMorphs, an NFT reward that users generate after completing quests to earn gift boxes containing Morph Energy Cards and Elements.

“They’re these cool 3D crystalline structures that are generated algorithmically,” Hine said.

Designed with the help of ustwo, the game studio behind iOS hit ‘Monument Valley,’, RadMorphs are created by users combining earned Elements and Morph Energy Cards within the user-friendly RadQuest interface. Fine tuning of the NFT game mechanics was done in collaboration with a game economics specialist who has previously worked on titles including like Magic: The Gathering.

Image: RadixThe aim, Hine explained, was to create a customizable, interactive NFT, rather than “a system where you get one and think, ‘Alright, here's a PFP, and that's all it does.’”

“We have this really nice metadata system that allows you to view everything about your RadQuest assets in a very fun, friendly way for users,” he added. That includes an automatic in-wallet view of the NFTs that shows users the “quality” of the NFT, and other interesting specs.

“When you're creating your RadMorph, you're going do it through actual on-ledger interactions with the smart contract using all the cool features that Radix has,” Hine said. “RadQuest puts you hands-on with what Web3 assets can really mean, even outside the applications you're using.”

Image: RadixThe aim of the platform is for crypto newcomers to feel that “Web3 isn't just craziness, it’s actually something that I can engage with, it's accessible to me,” Hine said. For crypto veterans, meanwhile, RadQuest showcases the Radix ecosystem’s unique features in an accessible way. Hopefully, said Hine, Web3 natives will come away thinking that, “The way Radix is doing this really is as radically better as we’ve been talking about after years of work.”

“We’re at this really nice point where we've got a growing ecosystem of applications, we can start adding more quests here that introduce some of those applications, and introduce people to the advantages of Radix,” he said, adding that, “This is our coming out to the rest of the crypto ecosystem.”

Radix’s Gamified Onboarding Platform RadQuest Simplifies Web3 for Everyone
XRD Radix
CoinGecko News
Original source text
A new gamified onboarding platform is here to help onboard the next generation of Web3 users.

Radix has launched RadQuest, a mobile-ready Web3 experience designed to make Blockchain accessible to anyone.

Onboarding has been a challenge for Web3 since its inception, many newcomers feel intimidated and overwhelmed by the heavy use of technical jargon and complexity of the user experience, and in many cases abandoned their Web3 journey before it starts.

Radix, a layer-1 protocol known for its innovative approach to blockchain scalability, security and user experience, addresses this issue directly. Collaborating with ustwo, creators of the award-winning game Monument Valley, Radix has transformed the Web3 learning process into an engaging, rewarding adventure.

Learning by Doing RadQuest features interactive “quests” that guide users through key features of the Radix network. By completing these quests, users gain hands-on experience with essential functionalities, such as human-readable transactions, network staking, and DEXs built using Radix’s Scrypto smart contract language.

This practical approach ensures users actively engage with blockchain concepts rather than merely reading about them. It contrasts sharply with traditional onboarding methods that often rely on dense documentation.

“RadQuest is not just about increasing wallet numbers or transaction volumes,” explains Adam Simmons, CMO of Radix. “It’s about educating users on Radix’s superior Web3 experience in a fun, rewarding, and repeatable way.”

Jetty, a friendly digital companion, guides users through their Web3 journey on RadQuest, helping them set up accounts, stake XRD, use DEXs, and more. Jetty makes the onboarding process engaging and less intimidating.

As users progress through RadQuest, Jetty will reward them with $20 in XRD and special (tradeable) on-chain assets which can be used to craft rare NFTs exclusive to RadQuest – RadMorphs.

The special assets are called Elements, Gems and Morph Energy Cards and are given to users by Jetty as rewards via Gift Boxes of varying levels. The quality of Gift Box determines the likelihood of receiving rarer Morph Energy Cards.

Mobile-First for Modern Users Recognizing the importance of seamless mobile experiences, RadQuest is fully optimized for mobile devices. Users can interact with Radix dApps directly from their phone’s browser or connect to a desktop browser. This mobile-first approach builds on recent updates to the Radix Wallet, enabling full mobile use of dApps and breaking down significant barriers to entry.

Beyond education, RadQuest showcases Radix’s unique solutions to common blockchain challenges. Users experience firsthand the benefits of Radix’s innovations, including:

Transaction Manifests and Reviews: These features enable truly human-readable transactions with guaranteed outcomes, eliminating the guesswork from crypto interactions. Asset-Oriented “Radix Engine”: This virtual machine ensures all assets have clear and predictable behavior, easily displayed in Radix Wallet without needing custom tokens. Persona System: By separating “who you are” from “what you own,” Radix enhances security and identity management within the ecosystem. Building on Recent Successes RadQuest, designed for individual users, also significantly benefits developers on the Radix network by providing a standardized onboarding tool, freeing them to focus on creating innovative applications.

Radix’s recent initiatives including a $10 million ecosystem fund, SuperStaking, Project Ignition and Token Trek, successfully boosted total value locked (TVL) and ecosystem activity. Project Ignition significantly increased Radix’s TVL by 76% in just two weeks, adding $20 million.

SuperStaking, was fully subscribed within 90 minutes, contributing an additional $7.5 million in TVL. The latest community engagement campaign, Token Trek, helped the Radix Wallet surpass 100,000 downloads and increased monthly on-chain transactions to 330,196.

Radix’s dApps, such as CaviarNine, Ociswap, Trove, Weft Finance and DefiPlaza have further helped the network accumulate over $30 million in TVL, highlighting its capability to offer a radically better Web3 experience.

Looking forward, Radix plans to introduce features like decentralized, seed-phrase-free user experiences and multi-factor authentication, which may set new industry standards and reinforce Radix’s leadership in user-centric blockchain technology.

Join the Quest Ready to embark on your Web3 adventure? Visit radquest.io and start your journey today. There’s also a referral program where inviting friends and family to join RadQuest rewards both parties with an extra $1 to start their Radix journey.

As blockchain technology continues to evolve, platforms like RadQuest are crucial for widespread adoption. By combining education, gamification, and real-world utility, Radix is not just onboarding users – it’s cultivating the next generation of blockchain enthusiasts and builders.

RadQuest by Radix promises to transform DeFi onboarding with interactive quests and rewards, making decentralized finance accessible to all.

Radix launches a gamified DeFi onboarding experience. Users earn rewards by learning about DeFi.  More features are planned, including major events.  Decentralized finance (DeFi) promises to revolutionize finance, offering services without traditional intermediaries like banks. However, most platforms are complex, which deters potential users, especially those new to the space.

Radix, a leading DeFi network, aims to bridge this gap with RadQuest, a platform that simplifies DeFi for newcomers. By using gamification and rewards, RadQuest hopes to attract new users to DeFi.

Radix Launches RadQuest to Simplify DeFi OnboardingAs new users struggle to get into DeFi, platforms do whatever they can to simplify the process. On Tuesday, July 30, Radix unveiled RadQuest, a platform to gamify DeFi’s onboarding experience. The platform offers an interactive process to engage and learn about DeFi, catered to new users.

RadQuest addresses the common challenges of DeFi onboarding, such as technical jargon and complex interfaces. Radix unveiled its solution in the form of a new mascot, Jetty, which will guide users through essential tasks in DeFi. Jetty will help users set up a Radix Wallet, create a Persona, stake XRD, and use a decentralized exchange (DEX).

Completing quests rewards users with XRD tokens and gift boxes containing tradeable on-chain items. Users can combine these to create which can be combined to create unique NFTs called RadMorphs. By combining gamification and rewards, Radix hopes to make DeFi more accessible to new users.

New Users Find DeFi Intimidating Many users find DeFi platforms intimidating. Challenges include a lot of technical jargon and complex interfaces, making it difficult for new users to engage. What is more, users also run the risk of making irreversible, costly mistakes due to the decentralized nature of DeFi. These challenges discourage potential users from engaging with DeFi.

For that reason, RadQuest aims to address some of these issues. The gamified process aims to help new users across the critical first step in engaging with DeFi. This is a part of Radix’s broader strategy to drive mainstream adoption of DeFi.

The strategy includes significant upcoming developments, such as integrating MayaChain for seamless asset transfers. The company will also participate in major industry events like Token2049 in Singapore and the European Blockchain Convention to bring DeFi closer to even more users.

On the Flipside Attracting and retaining users for DeFi platforms is complex and requires a simple user experience at every step of the user journey.  High gas fees are one factor that deters DeFi accessibility. Due to its low fees, scalable chains like Solana have seen increased adoption rates recently, especially in the memecoin market.  Why This MattersRadQuest aims to tackle the important issue of making DeFi accessible to a broader audience. By simplifying the onboarding process and offering tangible rewards, Radix hopes to drive the mainstream adoption of DeFi.

RDX Works, the creators behind the Radix DeFi platform, have implemented a 15% workforce reduction. CEO Piers Ridyard announced this decision via Telegram on Thursday, saying the move is part of a strategic initiative to cut costs.

He said these layoffs are crucial to a broader strategy involving significant organizational changes. As a result, the company is refocusing its direction, aiming to optimize operations and possibly adapt to new market dynamics.

CEO Assures Key Radix Projects Will Stay On Track Despite ChangesRidyard insisted that key projects at RDX, such as Flash Liquidity, the Cassandra test network, and multifactor account persona control and recovery (MFA), will not likely be impacted under the recent changes. The Flash Liquidity initiative aims to increase liquidity across the Radix network, which will help to reduce slippage and fees.

However, he did acknowledge that there could be some short-term disruptions in familiar contacts or interactions with RDX Works.

Babylon Upgrade and Strategic Partnerships Drive Radix’s MissionRadix is a Layer-1 protocol designer to improve scalability, security and user-friendliness for DeFi and Web3 applications.

In Sept. 2023, Radix executed the Babylon Upgrade, marking an advancement in its network’s development. The goal was to improve experiences for both users and developers in DeFi and Web3. A key highlight of this upgrade was the Radix Wallet launch for iOS and Android.

Recent discussions about Radix highlight its proactive measures to boost liquidity and promote ecosystem growth. Notably, Radix has created a 1.5 billion $XRD endowment fund. This fund is specifically aimed at enhancing tokenomics and expanding the network’s ecosystem.

The staff layoffs closely follow a newly announced partnership deal. On Aug. 27, RDX revealed that it had formed a strategic development partnership. This collaboration includes digital asset market maker Keyrock, asset manager G-20, and crypto high-frequency trading firm Portofino. Together, they aim to bring liquidity to the Radix ecosystem.

The Maya Protocol has been successfully integrated with Radix, which enables trustless asset exchanges across multiple chains and unlocks new pathways for tokens of value (TVL) from supported chains to flow into the Radix ecosystem.

Maya Protocol is a friendly fork of THORChain that allows users to swap assets cross-chain, for example, swapping USDC on Ethereum to XRD on Radix. It harnesses cross-chain liquidity and directly manages funds through on-chain vaults, bolstering security through economic incentives and robust mechanisms. Averaging 4 million USD of trading volume daily, Maya protocol provides a new entrance point for native crypto users to onboard to Radix and explore the ecosystem.

More About This Partnership Between Radix & Maya Radix DLT is a decentralized finance platform that provides a full stack for Web3 development. It offers a user-friendly Radix Wallet, Scrypto programming language, and Radix Engine for secure dApp development. Its Cerberus consensus algorithm ensures scalability and security, catering to developers and users in the DeFi and Web3 space.

After receiving a positive vote from the community of decentralized MAYANode operators, the collaboration between Maya and Radix has been completed. Users of Maya Protocol and Radix can now swap assets across chains in a trustworthy manner, which opens up new pathways for the $63 billion worth of tokens of value (TVL) that are now on chains supported by Maya Protocol to flow into Radix.

By allowing more users and assets to flow into Radix, the Maya Protocol integration will provide decentralized applications built on Radix with additional capacity for expansion. This solution will increase key network measures, including TVL, weekly transactions, user acquisition, and retention.

The expansion of access for users from other chains to seamlessly bridge their assets into and out of the Radix ecosystem has been a critical objective for Radix, and this integration represents a significant milestone for the company.

For the first time, the new Maya Protocol integration can be utilized through CacaoSwap. Radix customers can effortlessly exchange critical assets such as native Bitcoin and Ethereum, USDT/C on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and other cryptocurrencies.

Popular on-chain domain name provider and digital identity platform Unstoppable Domains has partnered with Radix, the registry of Top-Level Domains (TLDs), to provide support for .pw domains.

The move, according to the press release, bridges the gap between traditional Domain Name System (DNS) and tokenized blockchain domains.

More specifically, the .pw extension brings on-chain domains into the mainstream with full browser compatibility and search engine visibility.

Radix is one of the world’s largest registries of new domain extensions, with ten new extensions, including .online, .store, .tech, .website, .space, .press, .site, .host, .fun, and .uno, and one repurposed country code top-level domain (ccTLD), .pw.

It is also an active participant in the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) process to expand the Internet naming system.

The team enables users to get “short, memorable, and descriptive domain names that can be used for a website, email address, or a variety of other internet addressing purposes.”

— House of Chimera (@HouseofChimera) September 6, 2024 Therefore, the partnership aims to expand the pool of user-owned domains that are identical across the web, the teams stated.

This will allow companies, brands, and regular people to fully utilize the benefits of blockchain-based domains.

Notably, they stay on the existing Internet infrastructure while doing so.

DNS and On-chain Domain in OneThe public wallet .pw extension is both a DNS and an on-chain domain, the announcement explains.

Thanks to this, said the team, it stands out in “the crowded domain landscape by offering the best of both worlds.”

Moreover, .pw domains can be traditionally DNS-hosted, unlike non-DNS-enabled on-chain domains.

This feature allows these domains to resolve in standard web browsers and appear in search engine results.

Furthermore, community members can host decentralized websites and set up personalized email addresses, enjoying “the full spectrum of both traditional DNS and on-chain capabilities.”

According to the announcement, .pw domains come with the full suite of blockchain functionalities.

They can serve as a unique digital identifier that people can utilize to create their own immutable digital profiles.

Lastly, but importantly, they also “open the door to a decentralized ecosystem.”

The domains can enable sending and receiving cryptocurrencies, logging into all 865 integrated dapps on Unstoppable Domains, receiving collectible badges, privately messaging other domain holders, and more.

— Unstoppable Domains (@unstoppableweb) August 14, 2024 “We find that both of our visions align nicely, as we both want to expand the world of top-level domains and allow brands, businesses, and individuals the ability to control their footprint on the internet,” said Suman Das, Radix’s Sr Vice President, Marketing and Brand Strategy.

The two teams together are “paving the way for something extraordinary,” he said – a more decentralized and user-centric internet “where digital identity and ownership are paramount.”

Per Sandy Carter, Chief Operating Officer at Unstoppable Domains, this partnership is not just about launching a new domain extension. Rather, it’s also about “creating a seamless digital experience that empowers users across all ecosystems.”

Morpher, a leading trading platform, has announced the integration of its oracle services with the Radix Network. The platform will provide low-latency, real-time data feeds for a variety of markets, including stocks, cryptocurrencies, and forex. This move aims to solve issues faced by traditional oracles, such as limited data, delayed updates, and single points of failure.

The Morpher Oracle employs a pull-based on-chain attestation system, allowing users to access verified, tamper-proof data directly from the blockchain. Unlike traditional oracles that automatically push data, Morpher’s system enables users to request specific data when needed, enhancing security and accuracy. This method ensures that the data is stored on the ledger, making it secure and resistant to tampering.

Morpher’s integration with Radix furthers its mission to democratize access to financial markets. This is a significant achievement for the Radix (XRD) ecosystem as Coinstore, among Asia’s leading cryptocurrency trading platforms, extends its hands to include XRD in its marketplace. This expansion considerably increases the reach of Radix’s ecosystem since millions of users will be able to get their first experience in DeFi through Coinstore.

Expanding Radix’s Reach in Asia The recent decision of Coinstore to list XRD could not have come at a better time, considering the increasing interest in Radix, especially among crypto enthusiasts within the Asian region. About 9.5M users use the services offered by Coinstore, such as spot trading, futures trading, Launchpad, and other earning products. Through the integration with XRD, Coinstore opens up new opportunities for its now expanded user base and Radix, which has marked increased usage since the Babylon Mainnet’s release in September of 2023.

Boosting Market Accessibility The Asia-based exchange Coinstore is an influential player in cryptocurrency trading, having an average 24-hour spot trading volume of over $349,212,904 and 150,000 active users daily. With the integration of XRD, Radix can tap into this reach; this move may pull a substantial part of Coinstore’s volume and user engagement into its DeFi ecosystem. This increased accessibility aligns with Radix’s strategy to grow its ecosystem and pull in users, developers, and investments into DeFi.

The Growing Demand for Radix in Asia The integration of Radix with Coinstore also speaks volumes about the emerging need for DeFi solutions in Asia, which is known to have high-spirited crypto users. Chainalysis ranked the top 20 countries by cryptocurrency adoption rate; seven of them are from Asia, which has been interested in exploring different blockchain technologies. While using Radix, which is actively expanding in this emerging market, the connection with Coinstore strengthens the position. The platform can be a gateway for the new audience seeking opportunities in defi.

Looking Ahead: Radix’s Future Growth The extensive services offered by Coinstore enable XRD to have good prospects for development, and with the Asian market developing actively, this listing may act as the key to Radix’s success and becoming one of the leaders in DeFi. Thus, this integration represents another step of cryptocurrencies closer to the interaction of traditional exchanges with decentralized ones to make the financial world faster, more accessible, and more connected.

How Empty Marketing and Growth Hacking Kills Blockchain Projects
DOT Polkadot MOVE Movement XRD Radix
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Money talks. In cryptocurrency, it screams through megaphones and flies banners across stadium skies. The recent revelation of Polkadot’s $37 million marketing spend has reignited a familiar debate within the blockchain community. Their aggressive growth strategy, complete with influencer campaigns and sports sponsorships, mirrors a pattern seen throughout the industry’s evolution.

Cryptocurrency projects have long walked a tightrope between building awareness and maintaining credibility. Some call it growth hacking. Others label it desperation. The truth lies somewhere in between, hidden in the spreadsheets of marketing budgets and community engagement metrics.

For an industry built on transparency, the methods behind crypto marketing often remain surprisingly opaque. Yet Polkadot’s recent treasury report has inadvertently pulled back the curtain, offering a rare glimpse into the real costs of chasing growth in Web3.

So that begs the question…

Is Crypto All About the Hype? The crypto industry thrives on promises. Projects launch daily, each claiming revolutionary technology and groundbreaking solutions. Marketing teams craft elaborate narratives about mass adoption and industry disruption. Development roadmaps stretch years into the future while promotion budgets drain treasuries today.

Behind every blockchain project stands an army of social media managers, content creators, and community moderators. They craft narratives, manage expectations, and drive engagement. Marketing budgets often dwarf technical spending. Growth metrics become more important than GitHub commits. The industry measures success through Twitter followers rather than transaction volumes.

Yet this focus on hype serves a purpose. Early adoption requires awareness and communities require nurturing in order to build a foundation. In an industry built on network effects, attention drives value. That’s why smart projects leverage this dynamic, using strategic marketing to build genuine communities. Conversely, others simply throw money at short-term solutions, hoping quantity will translate into quality.

The difference lies in execution.

Successful projects blend marketing prowess with technological substance. They understand hype’s role in driving adoption while maintaining focus on development. Their marketing spend reflects strategic thinking rather than desperate attempts at relevance. The best teams recognize that sustainable growth requires more than just flashy campaigns and influencer endorsements.

However, recent events have pulled back the curtain on crypto’s marketing machinery, exposing the true cost of chasing growth at any price.

When Marketing Millions Miss Their MarkPolkadot’s treasury report landed like a bombshell in June. The blockchain project spent $37 million on marketing in early 2024, nearly double its development budget. Community members watched in disbelief as the numbers painted a stark picture of modern crypto marketing — one where promotion overshadows product development and short-term visibility trumps long-term value creation.

The granular details of Polkadot’s spending revealed deeper systemic issues within crypto marketing practices. Their influencer campaigns targeting North America and Europe consumed substantial portions of the budget, with each month-long promotion costing roughly $300,000.

Initial metrics appeared promising, boasting millions of content views and hundreds of thousands of engagements. Yet beneath these surface-level statistics lurked troubling patterns of artificial inflation and questionable value.

Investigation into these marketing initiatives uncovered a complex web of suspicious activities. YouTube channels materialized overnight with implausible subscriber counts, while Twitter profiles coordinated identical content streams across networks of bot-driven accounts.

Key opinion leaders selected for premium partnerships often displayed signs of manufactured engagement, their follower counts inflated and their content engagement metrics artificially enhanced through coordinated automation.

Polkadot’s broader spending choices raised fundamental questions about value creation in the blockchain space. Their treasury allocated $450,000 for event expenses while community-driven initiatives struggled for basic funding. Premium partnerships consumed resources at an alarming rate, including $480,000 for a two-year logo display on Coinmarketcap and $180,000 for private jet branding.

These decisions occurred against a backdrop of stagnant token prices and slowing ecosystem development. The project’s marketing strategy exemplifies a growing disconnect between spending and substance in crypto promotion.

While traditional marketing metrics showed surface-level success, the deeper analysis revealed concerning patterns of inefficiency and waste. Their treasury, currently projected to last another two years at current spending rates, faces mounting pressure from community members questioning the return on these substantial investments.

The situation highlights a critical challenge facing blockchain projects: distinguishing between meaningful growth initiatives and expensive exercises in vanity metrics.

The Missing Link Between PR and GrowthPublic relations in cryptocurrency often plays second fiddle to aggressive growth tactics. Marketing teams chase viral moments and influencer endorsements while overlooking the fundamentals of strategic communication. This approach stems from the industry’s obsession with immediate results, yet misses crucial opportunities for sustainable growth.

Traditional PR brings subtle but significant advantages to blockchain projects. While sponsored posts generate quick spikes in attention, carefully crafted media relationships build lasting credibility. Industry publications value authenticity over paid placement. Journalists seek genuine innovation rather than promotional noise. These relationships become invaluable during critical moments, from product launches to crisis management.

Most crypto projects struggle to balance immediate visibility with long-term reputation building. Marketing budgets flow freely toward quantifiable metrics like social media engagement and website traffic. Meanwhile, PR initiatives that could strengthen market position and industry standing receive minimal attention. This imbalance creates vulnerability, leaving projects ill-equipped to handle scrutiny or navigate market downturns.

Successful blockchain projects understand the symbiotic relationship between growth hacking and public relations. They recognize that while aggressive marketing drives initial interest, strategic PR sustains momentum through market cycles. Their communication strategies blend traditional media outreach with innovative community engagement. Press releases complement Twitter spaces. Media tours enhance Discord announcements.

You can see the distinction clearly during market turbulence. Projects built on pure hype crumble under pressure, their communities scattering at the first sign of trouble. Those with strong PR foundations weather storms more effectively, maintaining stakeholder confidence through clear communication and established media channels. Their prior investment in relationship building pays dividends when market sentiment shifts.

Smart teams recognize that effective PR extends beyond press releases and media mentions. It encompasses community management, developer relations, and stakeholder communication. This comprehensive approach creates resilience, enabling projects to maintain momentum even when marketing budgets tighten or market conditions deteriorate.

Growth Hack the Right WayThe cryptocurrency industry stands at a crossroads between hype-driven marketing and sustainable growth strategies. Projects rushing toward quick wins through influencer campaigns and paid promotions often find themselves building on shifting sands. Real growth demands more than viral moments and sponsored content. It requires strategic communication, genuine community building, and balanced resource allocation.

Smart projects recognize this evolution in crypto marketing. They understand that tomorrow’s leaders will master the delicate balance between innovative growth tactics and time-tested PR fundamentals. Sustainable success in blockchain requires more than just spending power — it demands strategic vision, authentic communication, and unwavering commitment to genuine value creation.

Radix launches two-year campaign to reward real DeFi engagement
XRD Radix
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Radix, a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain, has proposed reallocating 1 billion XRD from its treasury into a two-year community incentives program aimed at deepening ecosystem engagement and improving long-term tokenomics—positioning itself as a deliberate “antidote to airdrops.”

Editor’s note: This article has been updated to reflect that the 1 billion XRD community incentives program is a proposal and not a confirmed launch; crypto.news apologizes for the earlier mischaracterization.

Announced on April 14, the new initiative will redirect funds from a previously proposed stablecoin project to support what Radix (XRD) describes as a multi-season, points-based rewards campaign designed to incentivize meaningful activity. Participants will earn points by holding or staking XRD, providing liquidity, executing DEX swaps, and engaging in lending and borrowing. NFT interaction and dApp usage will also qualify for rewards.

“Users will earn points based on meaningful activity,” said Dan Hughes, CTO and founder of Radix. “We want to ensure deep and sustained ecosystem participation instead of just passive token hoarding to bump up our market cap.”

Radix is distancing itself from traditional airdrop tactics, which it sees as unsustainable and prone to attracting short-term “mercenary” users.

If approved, the campaign’s structure would aim to build robust liquidity while creating a stronger foundation for dApps and developers within the ecosystem.

Reallocated treasury funds to drive user growth Hughes framed the reallocation as a strategic pivot that better aligns with Radix’s current growth trajectory.

“What’s the alternative?” he said. “Do nothing with the 2.4 billion XRD while competitors onboard users and dominate liquidity flows? Or burn it, and hope for a short-term flash mob? The choice is clear: repurpose this reserve and make Radix the home of the next generation of DeFi.”

The announcement comes ahead of Radix’s Hyperscale testnet rollout, which targets a sustained throughput of 1 million complex transactions per second, a scalability benchmark far beyond what current Layer 1s have demonstrated in production.

According to the press release, this upcoming milestone represents the “only real path to Hyperscale in the industry.”

To support this push, Radix’s proposed incentives campaign is intended to rapidly onboard more users, capital, and liquidity, positioning the network as a serious contender in the next wave of DeFi adoption.

Radix network faces an uncertain future after the team confirmed the passing of its founder, Dan Hughes.

Summary

Radix founder Dan Hughes passed away The network is at a critical juncture Tokenomics continues to put pressure on Radix Radix (XRD) network faces an uncertain future after tragedy struck its community. On Tuesday, July 29, the Radix team confirmed the passing of the network’s founder, Dan Hughes. Shortly after the announcement, the token’s price dropped 40%, from a high of $0.007228 to $0.004777.

Hughes played a central role in the network as both the architect and the visionary behind the project. He was instrumental in the network’s innovations, such as the Cerberus consensus, the Radix Engine, and its proprietary programming language, Scrypto.

His passing also came at a critical time, just as the network was preparing to launch its Hyperscale mainnet and the Hyperlane multi-chain bridge. Hyperscale, formerly the Cassandra research network, is gradually rolling out, with the next phase set for the latter half of 2025. The long-term vision is to conclude with a Rust-based mainnet launch in 2027.

Radix continues to struggle with supply issues The network is also preparing for the launch of a major rewards program, proposed in April. Originally set for 2025, the program would transfer 1 billion XRD from the treasury to the community over two years. Its goal was to boost community engagement and activity on the network.

Still, the incentive program also carries the potential risk of increasing the token’s circulating supply, which could lead to selling pressure. In fact, issues over token distribution have plagued Radix since its launch.

Specifically, large allocations for the team and early contributors have led to consistent selling pressure. So far, the token is down more than 99% from its all-time high achieved in November 2021, months after its launch.
