LONDON, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, today announced Verisk Fraud Discovery, a fraud prevention platform that unifies fraud intelligence, advanced analytics, network analysis, digital media forensics, and case management into a single, scalable solution.
The launch comes at a time when insurance fraud is evolving rapidly, with economic pressures driving more opportunistic fraud and organised fraud networks increasingly exploiting technology and data gaps to evade detection. In 2024, UK insurers detected £1.16bn in fraudulent claims across 98,400 cases, an industry estimates a similar amount may go undetected. As fraud networks become more sophisticated, insurers are seeking connected intelligence, investigation and case management capabilities that help reveal patterns and relationships that might otherwise remain hidden.
"The insurance industry is facing increasingly complex fraud risks that often span multiple parties, claims and points in the insurance journey," said James Burge, Global Head of Fraud at Hiscox. "As fraud becomes more organised and interconnected, insurers need better ways to connect intelligence across underwriting, claims and investigations. Verisk's approach helps create greater visibility into potential fraud networks and further strengthens our evolving fraud prevention capabilities.”
Verisk's Fraud Discovery platform combines fraud intelligence, analytics, network analysis, digital media forensics and investigation workflows to help organisations:
Uncover hidden relationships across people, organisations, policies and claimsDetect opportunistic, organised and coordinated fraud activityAnalyse images and documents for signs of manipulation, alteration and deepfakesPrioritise investigations and resources using risk insights and intelligence-led decisioningStreamline investigations and case management through a single workflowImprove fraud visibility and collaboration across underwriting, claims and fraud teamsTransform data into actionable intelligence Designed as a modular platform, organisations can adopt capabilities based on their fraud maturity and operational requirements, from early-stage fraud detection to advanced investigative workflows. This flexibility enables insurers to strengthen fraud prevention efforts while creating a foundation for more connected investigative operations over time.
Early adoption by leading insurers and legal partners
Hiscox, Allianz and law firm Weightmans are among the organisations adopting Verisk Fraud Discovery at launch, reflecting demand for more connected approaches to fraud investigation, intelligence sharing, and case management.
Mike Brown, head of fraud at Weightmans, said, “Fraud continues to undermine both the UK and global economy. Our collaboration with Verisk represents a major step forward in equipping us and our clients with advanced technology to better identify and respond to fraud.”
For decades, Verisk has helped insurers combat fraud through trusted industry data, advanced analytics and investigation technologies. Its anti-fraud solutions help organisations identify suspicious activity, uncover connections between people, claims and businesses, and focus investigative resources where they can have the greatest impact. Today, Verisk supports fraud detection and investigations across the insurance ecosystem and continues to develop connected intelligence solutions that help insurers respond to increasingly complex and organised fraud activity.

For new and old investors, taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals. Zacks Premium provides lots of different ways to do both.
The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens.
It also includes access to the Zacks Style Scores.
What are the Zacks Style Scores? Developed alongside the Zacks Rank, the Zacks Style Scores are a group of complementary indicators that help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.
Each stock is given an alphabetic rating of A, B, C, D or F based on their value, growth, and momentum qualities. With this system, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on, meaning the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform.
The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:
Value ScoreValue investors love finding good stocks at good prices, especially before the broader market catches on to a stock's true value. Utilizing ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and many other multiples, the Value Style Score identifies the most attractive and most discounted stocks.
Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time.
Momentum ScoreMomentum traders and investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." This investing style is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Employing factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, the Momentum Style Score can indicate favorable times to build a position in high-momentum stocks.
VGM ScoreIf you like to use all three kinds of investing, then the VGM Score is for you. It's a combination of all Style Scores, and is an important indicator to use with the Zacks Rank. The VGM Score rates each stock on their shared weighted styles, narrowing down the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum.
How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank is a proprietary stock-rating model that harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to help investors build a successful portfolio.
It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.8% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.
With more than 800 top-rated stocks to choose from, it can certainly feel overwhelming to pick the ones that are right for you and your investing journey.
That's where the Style Scores come in.
To have the best chance of big returns, you'll want to always consider stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B, which will give you the highest probability of success. If you're looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, it's important they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible.
As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy.
For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well.
Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.

Verisk CargoNet analyzed 273 theft events that occurred during the Labor Day holiday periods from 2021 through 2025.California, Texas, and Illinois were the most common states for activity, with major freight hubs and population centers continuing to drive risk.Theft activity clustered on the days framing the holiday rather than on the holiday weekend itself, with Thursday, Friday, Tuesday, and Wednesday accounting for 71% of all incidents.Verisk CargoNet warns that holiday risk now includes both traditional theft of unattended freight and evolving identity-based fraud involving compromised phone systems, carrier accounts, and compliance platforms. JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As the Labor Day weekend approaches, cargo theft remains a persistent and elevated threat to freight moving across the United States. Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading data analytics and technology provider to the global insurance industry, released an analysis today from its CargoNet business on Labor Day cargo theft incidents over the past five years. The analysis found that theft activity has settled at a materially higher baseline than at the start of the period, positioning the 2026 holiday weekend as another period of potentially heightened exposure.
Verisk CargoNet’s review of incidents reported during the Thursday-before through Wednesday-after Labor Day shows sustained theft activity, concentrated exposure in major freight markets, and an expanding mix of traditional and identity-based theft methods.
Verisk CargoNet recorded 273 cargo theft incidents across the five-day Labor Day analysis periods from 2021 through 2025. The annual count rose from 33 incidents in 2021 to 56 in 2025, an increase of 70%, and reached a five-year high of 70 incidents in 2024.
The timing of theft within the holiday period underscores unique exposure risks. Friday was the single most active day with 55 incidents, followed by Tuesday with 49, Thursday with 46, and Wednesday with 44. Together, the four days surrounding the holiday weekend accounted for 194 of the 273 incidents, or 71% of the five-year total. The holiday weekend was comparatively quiet, with 24 incidents on Saturday, 28 on Sunday, and 27 on Labor Day Monday. The pattern is consistent with the growing share of cargo theft carried out through deceptive pickup and non-delivery schemes, which depend on live staff, active phone lines, and freight moving through normal business channels, conditions that largely disappear over a holiday weekend and return on either side of it.
The Labor Day threat is best understood as two overlapping risks. The first is physical exposure created when loaded freight sits at rest during closures or schedule disruptions. The second is verification exposure created when reduced staffing and time pressure make it easier for a criminal to impersonate a trusted carrier, alter shipment instructions, or insert fraudulent contact information into an otherwise legitimate transaction.
California, Texas, and Illinois accounted for 130 of the 273 incidents analyzed, or 48% of the five-year total. California led with 70 incidents, followed by Texas with 38 and Illinois with 22. This concentration is consistent with Verisk CargoNet's broader experience: theft activity clusters around dense freight networks, large consumer markets, intermodal infrastructure, and locations where stolen goods can be moved or resold quickly.
The commodity profile also reflects resale opportunity. Food and beverage shipments led with 49 incidents, followed by household goods with 27, electronics with 25, vehicles and accessories with 20, and metals with 11. These categories combine steady illicit-market demand with products that can often be broken down, redistributed, or sold through multiple channels.
Verisk CargoNet estimates total commodity value across the analysis at approximately $31.8 million.
Emerging Threat: Identity-Based Cargo Theft and Shipment Misdirection
Verisk CargoNet continues to observe organized groups combining traditional theft with technical deception. Criminals may compromise carrier accounts, software-based business phone systems, email accounts, or compliance-platform credentials so they can operate from inside channels that a broker or shipper normally considers trustworthy. This is more dangerous than simple spoofing because the fraudulent actor may possess authentic account access, recognizable contact details, and knowledge of active shipments.
The resulting theft may occur at tender, pickup, or after a legitimate carrier has taken possession. A criminal who changes a delivery address or contact after pickup can bypass controls that focus only on carrier selection.
In its July 4 holiday analysis, Verisk CargoNet estimated that cargo theft losses exceeded $359 million in the first six months of 2026 and that the average stolen commodity value had climbed to approximately $341,518. Incident counts alone no longer describe the full risk. Organized groups are demonstrating greater selectivity, pursuing high-value metals, enterprise technology components, and other freight that can produce an outsized return from a single successful theft.
Footnote: The Labor Day holiday analysis period consists of the Thursday before Labor Day through the Wednesday after Labor Day, 2021-2025.

BOSTON, Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, today announced a new U.S. Data Center Exposure Database designed to help insurers, reinsurers and brokers better understand and manage one of the fastest-growing concentrations of risk. The database provides building-level geocoding, facility footprints, physical characteristics and operational attributes for more than 2,500 facilities nationwide. The Verisk U.S. Data Center Exposure Database can be leveraged to support a range of use cases and workflows within Verisk Synergy Studio and Touchstone.
The launch comes as artificial intelligence drives significant investment in digital infrastructure and demand for data center capacity worldwide. Industry sources indicate that global data center insurance premiums could more than double from approximately $10 billion in 2026 to $23 billion by 2030, reflecting the rapid expansion of facilities supporting AI, cloud computing, and digital services.
AI Infrastructure Growth Is Creating New Concentrations of Risk
Data centers are an emerging critical infrastructure risk. These facilities often house billions of dollars in physical assets and support essential business, government, and digital operations. Yet insurers may often rely on incomplete or inconsistent location data when assessing exposure concentrations, catastrophe risk and portfolio accumulations. Verisk's new database was developed to provide an in-depth view of this rapidly growing asset class.
The Verisk U.S. Data Center Exposure Database includes detailed location, structural and operational information for facilities across the country, including:
rooftop-level geocoding building footprint dataconstruction typefloor areacapacityoperational redundancy characteristics *Available data fields and levels of detail may vary by facility and source
It includes flat-file records, building footprint shapefiles, and a 90-meter disaggregation grid to support advanced geospatial analytics and catastrophe modeling applications. The database is designed to support underwriting, exposure management, catastrophe analytics, and portfolio accumulation assessments.
"AI is often discussed as a digital transformation story, but it is increasingly a physical infrastructure story,” said Rob Newbold, president of Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions. “The facilities powering that growth represent billions of dollars in concentrated assets, and that has implications not only for insurers but also for reinsurers, investors and capital markets participants looking to understand and manage emerging sources of potential risk.”
"Data centers have quietly become one of the largest and fastest-growing concentrations of insured value in the modern economy," said Jay Guin, executive vice president and chief research officer of Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions. "Organizations are investing billions of dollars to support AI-driven growth, but many insurers are increasingly focused on understanding where these assets are located and how risk accumulates across regions and portfolios. If you can't identify the exposure, you can't effectively measure or manage it. This data set is designed to provide additional information to support those efforts."
Verisk Answered Industry Demands for Insights into Data Center Exposure
Verisk’s U.S. Data Center Exposure Database was developed as a tool to support industry demands for greater visibility into data center risk.
“Data centers are ultimately physical facilities with real-world exposure to hurricanes, flooding, severe convective storms, earthquakes and other perils. As AI infrastructure continues expanding across the United States, understanding where those assets are located and how risks aggregate becomes increasingly important to insurers, businesses and communities alike," Guin concluded.
The Verisk U.S. Data Center Exposure Database is available to insurers, reinsurers, brokers and other risk management organizations in Verisk’s catastrophe modeling software, Verisk Synergy Studio and Touchstone.
Verisk’s U.S. Data Center Exposure Database is developed by AIR Worldwide Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Verisk Analytics, Inc.

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, and the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA), the primary national trade association for home, auto and business insurers, today reported an estimated net underwriting gain of $31.7 billion for the U.S. property/casualty (P&C) insurance industry in the first half of 2026, up from the $11.6 billion underwriting gain recorded through midyear 2025, when industry results were significantly affected by catastrophe losses from the Los Angeles wildfires.
According to key financial indicators for private U.S. P&C insurers, while industry underwriting gains improved during the first half of 2026, performance varied by line of business and geography. Net written premium growth slowed to 2.1 percent, reflecting competitive market conditions as rate increases moderated. Policyholders' surplus increased to $1.3 trillion, strengthening insurers' ability to absorb future catastrophe losses and support long-term market stability. Half-year profitability was also supported by higher investment income; however, catastrophe exposure remains elevated and continues to pose significant long-term risk.
Property lines softened, while casualty lines remained under pressure despite signs that the hard casualty market is beginning to cool. Affordability also remains a challenge for many property owners and businesses, as rising construction costs and claim severity continue to influence rebuilding costs and recovery after losses.
"First-half results should not be mistaken as evidence that underlying risk has diminished," said Saurabh Khemka, president of Verisk Underwriting Solutions. "Broader industry performance highlights the growing value of precision as property market conditions continue to soften. Increased market segmentation means insurers may benefit from a deeper understanding of exposures, claims behavior and portfolio performance to help support profitable growth as pricing becomes more competitive."
For insurers, this environment reinforces the need to evaluate risk at a more granular level and closely monitor changes in exposure, claim severity and portfolio mix.
Khemka continued, "The value of precision is particularly important given the scale of natural catastrophe exposure facing the industry. Verisk's 2026 Global Modeled Catastrophe Losses Report* indicates that the industry faces approximately $171 billion in average annual insured catastrophe losses globally, with the U.S. accounting for about $117 billion, or approximately two-thirds of the global total. Those figures underscore the potential scale of exposure in the U.S. and demonstrate that frequency perils such as severe convective storms and wildfires can produce significant losses and uneven underwriting results from the industry.”
Underwriting Industry Financial Results Through First-Half 2026
Written premiums: Net written premium growth slowed to 2.1 percent, compared to 5.2 percent during the same period in 2025.Earned premiums: Net earned premiums rose 3.3 percent, compared to 7.3 percent during the same period in 2025.Underwriting gain: The U.S. P&C insurance industry posted an estimated net underwriting gain of $31.7 billion, compared with $11.6 billion through the first six months of 2025.Incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses: Incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses decreased by 4.8 percent, compared to a 5.1 percent increase during the first half of 2025. The industry's combined ratio improved to 92.7, compared with 96.5 a year earlier, marking one of the strongest half-year underwriting performances in recent history.Surplus: Policyholders' surplus increased to $1.30 trillion, compared with $1.13 trillion at midyear 2025.Net investment gains: Net investment gains increased to $59.6 billion, compared with $49.0 billion during the same period in 2025.Net income: Net income after taxes increased 53 percent to $77.8 billion, compared with $50.9 billion in the first half of 2025. “In good news for policyholders, premium increases continued to moderate in the first half of 2026, falling below general inflation and building materials and labor costs. Net written premium growth slowed to 2.1 percent in H1 2026, from 5.2 percent in H1 2025 and a recent peak of 10.8 percent in H1 2024,” said Robert Gordon, senior vice president of policy, research and international at APCIA. “While overall industry profitability improved in the first half of 2026, largely due to a decline in insured natural-catastrophe losses compared to the first half of 2025 following the Los Angeles wildfires, insurers’ loss experience and profitability varied widely from state to state. In states that have enacted meaningful legal system abuse reforms, including Florida, Georgia and Louisiana, many policyholders have begun to experience reductions in auto and homeowners’ insurance rates that are expected to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in premium relief.”
“While insured natural-catastrophe losses provided a temporary reprieve in the first half of 2026, bodily injury and commercial liability losses continued to worsen. Excess liability, umbrella liability, commercial auto, and other casualty lines experienced ongoing pressure from escalating claim severity, nuclear verdicts, and rising medical costs,” concluded Gordon.
Note: The results above are based on quarterly statements filed with insurance regulators by private property/casualty insurers domiciled in the United States, including reinsurers, excess and surplus insurers, and domestic insurers owned by foreign parents, and exclude state funds for workers' compensation and other residual market insurers, the National Flood Insurance Program, and foreign insurers. The figures are consolidated estimates based on reports accounting for about 97.4 percent of all business written by U.S. property/casualty insurers. All figures are net of reinsurance unless otherwise noted and occasionally may not balance due to rounding. Net investment results displayed are post-tax.
*Average annual insured catastrophe losses (AAL) are a modeled value that represents the average of a very large range of modeled possibilities of catastrophic events across perils, globally, that can occur in any given year under today's exposure and climate conditions.

Average annual insured catastrophe losses increased by approximately $19 billion in a year, the highest estimate Verisk has reported to dateDespite a season with no U.S. hurricane landfalls, estimated losses exceeded $100 billion for a sixth consecutive yearExposure growth, rising reconstruction costs and continued development in catastrophe-prone areas are pushing potential losses higher, regardless of weather patterns in any single year Jersey City, N.J., Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The catastrophe modeling business unit of Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading data analytics and technology provider to the global insurance industry, today released Verisk's 2026 Global Modeled Catastrophe Losses Report. The annual report calculates that the insurance industry should be prepared to withstand $171 billion in insured catastrophe losses on average in a given year, up $19 billion from a year ago, and the highest estimate Verisk has reported to date. The industry’s loss benchmark increased even after a year with no U.S. hurricane landfalls for the first time in a decade, and it reflects continued growth in property values and insured values worldwide.
“A quiet hurricane season can lead markets to respond as if risk has eased: rates soften, insurers keep more risk on their own books, and more capital competes to write new business,” said Rob Newbold, president of Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions. “But 2025 reminds us that the underlying risk landscape has changed and years without significant losses from U.S. hurricane activity no longer signal a quieter catastrophe environment.”
For the sixth straight year, global insured catastrophe losses exceeded $100 billion — a result driven not by severity perils like earthquakes and hurricanes, but by record-setting wildfires and significant severe thunderstorm activity, which produces widespread hail, wind and tornado damage across many communities rather than a single catastrophic event.
“A more dynamic risk environment underscores how catastrophe models help insurers maintain underwriting discipline and make informed pricing, capital allocation and risk transfer decisions based on the full range of risk, not just the outcome of a single season,” Newbold added.
Understanding Verisk's $171 Billion Loss Benchmark
The report’s headline figure is Verisk’s global insured average annual loss, or AAL: a modeled, long-term estimate of catastrophe risk derived from simulations across the company’s global suite of models. It is not a prediction of losses in 2026 or in any other individual year; rather, it serves as a benchmark insurers can use to evaluate potential losses across a wide range of events, perils and regions.
Several additional insights help put the number into context:
The United States accounts for the majority of modeled insured catastrophe risk. Of the $171 billion global insured AAL, $117 billion (68 percent) is attributed to the U.S. Severe thunderstorm accounts for 40 percent of modeled insured catastrophe risk, more than any other peril. It remains the largest contributor to Verisk's global insured AAL, ahead of tropical cyclone (27 percent), earthquake (10 percent), winter storm (9 percent), flood (7 percent) and wildfire (6 percent). The pattern held in 2025, when frequency perils, rather than a single hurricane, drove industry losses. A severe catastrophe year could generate losses nearly three times higher than the global insured AAL. The report also examines increasingly severe but plausible loss scenarios: At the 100-year return period – commonly used in the industry to describe a scenario with a 1 percent annual likelihood – modeled aggregate insured losses reach $477 billion. At the 250-year return period, losses reach $606 billion. Since Verisk first published this report in 2012, the estimated global insured AAL has nearly tripled, rising from $59 billion to $171 billion. The original 2012 figure was expressed in 2012 dollars. The change also reflects Verisk’s investment in expanding model coverage to more than 20 additional countries and regions, advances in science, data and modeling methods, updates to Verisk’s view of risk, and growth in insured exposure.
What's Driving Higher Losses Beyond the Hazard
Catastrophe losses are shaped by more than the number or severity of storms, wildfires or earthquakes in a given year. Several long-term trends continue to increase the value of property at risk and the potential cost of future catastrophes:
There is more property to insure. Property exposure in the countries Verisk models has grown roughly 7 percent annually since 2021, driven by both new construction and rising asset values. The cost of rebuilding keeps increasing. In the United States, residential reconstruction costs have risen about 5 percent annually since 2021, outpacing consumer inflation and increasing the potential cost of catastrophe losses even when hazard activity remains unchanged. More people and property are concentrated in hazard-prone areas. Population growth continues to be concentrated in catastrophe-exposed regions, while development expands in flood plains, wildfire zones and other high-risk locations. In England, for example, 7.1 percent of single-family homes already sit in the 100-year flood plain, and one in nine new homes built between 2022 and 2024 was built in a flood-risk area — a share Verisk’s models project could rise to one in seven new homes by 2050. Together, these trends increase insured catastrophe losses independently of weather patterns and help explain why the industry's risk benchmark continues to rise.
What would that mean in practice? Verisk's models show that adding a significant U.S. landfalling hurricane to a year like 2025 could push annual insured catastrophe losses to roughly $200 billion. Industry reports indicate that total insured losses for 2025 ranged from $107-$129 billion. The figure reflects an aggregate total across all perils in a single year, not a single mega-event. Verisk's report treats that figure as a foreseeable scenario the industry should be prepared to withstand, not a tail risk to revisit only after it happens. For consumers, a year with increased significant natural catastrophe events could mean increased premiums, changes to underwriting terms, and in the hardest-hit areas, less available coverage in subsequent years.
Why a quiet hurricane season is not a quiet year
Verisk's report underscores that a year without a U.S. landfalling hurricane can lull the market toward thinner pricing and looser underwriting terms, precisely when discipline matters most. Down years, the report notes, are when catastrophe models help insurers separate resilience from volatility when the market eventually turns.
“The $171 billion figure is not determined by the outcome of one hurricane season or one year of catastrophe losses,” said Dr. Jay Guin, executive vice president and chief research officer of Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions. “It reflects a wide distribution of potential events across perils and regions, using current exposure data and a view of hazard grounded in the near-present climate. That broader perspective helps the industry prepare for loss scenarios that historical experience alone may not reveal.”
A persistent global protection gap
The report also quantifies a persistent and uneven protection gap. Globally, only about 38 percent of economic losses from natural catastrophes are insured, corresponding to a modeled economic AAL of more than $450 billion. In Europe, the gap is wider than the global average: of the region's $110 billion in expected annual economic catastrophe losses, only about $24 billion (22 percent) is currently insured. In July 2025, flash floods in Central Texas, the deadliest flood event in nearly five decades, occurred in a region where the national flood insurance take-up rate is about 3 percent, and take-up in the hardest-hit county was about 2.5 percent. When an earthquake struck Myanmar in March 2025, insurers covered less than $100 million of roughly $12 billion in economic losses.
“Narrowing the protection gap requires broader access to insurance and a clear understanding of the risk,” Newbold said. “By expanding model coverage and making both Verisk and third-party models available through our platforms, we are helping insurers evaluate risk in more markets and identify opportunities to extend coverage to communities that remain underinsured.”

On August 20, 2026, we delve into the DCF analysis for Verisk Analytics Inc
VRSK -0.01% 82
, a company that has seen a tumultuous year with a significant decline in its stock price. The current market price stands at $186.46, reflecting a year-to-date drop of 16.2% and a staggering 30.6% decline over the past year. This backdrop sets the stage for a closer examination of the company's valuation through various models.
DCF Earnings-based intrinsic value indicates a significant overvaluation with a margin of safety of -80.0% compared to the current price. DCF Free Cash Flow-based intrinsic value suggests a modest overvaluation with a margin of safety of -21.6%. GF Score™ of 82/100 indicates a relatively strong performance, but the low predictability rank of 1/5 stars raises concerns about the reliability of the DCF inputs. What Is VRSK Worth? DCF Earnings-Based Model The DCF earnings-based model employs a two-stage approach to estimate the intrinsic value of Verisk Analytics. The first stage projects earnings growth over the next ten years, while the second stage accounts for a terminal growth rate thereafter. Below is a summary of the key assumptions used in this model:
Parameter Value Current EPS (TTM, excl. non-recurring) $7.24 10-Year Growth Rate 8.3% 10-Year Treasury Rate 4.67% Discount Rate (ceil(Treasury) + 6%) 11% Terminal Growth Rate 4% In the growth phase (Years 1-10), we assume an annual EPS growth of 8.3%, discounted at 11%. In the terminal phase (Years 11-20), we apply a more conservative terminal growth rate of 4%, also discounted at 11%. The calculation summary is as follows:
Stage Description Value Growth Stage (Years 1-10) EPS growing at 8.3%, discounted at 11% $63.37 Terminal Stage (Years 11-20) 4% terminal growth, discounted at 11% $40.25 Intrinsic Value Growth + Terminal $103.62 With the current price at $186.46, the intrinsic value of $103.62 indicates that the stock is significantly overvalued, resulting in a margin of safety of -80.0%. It is essential to note that GuruFocus utilizes EPS without non-recurring items, as research shows that stock prices correlate more closely with earnings than free cash flow. For further details, you can access the VRSK DCF Calculator.
What Does the Free Cash Flow DCF Say? The Free Cash Flow (FCF)-based intrinsic value for Verisk Analytics is calculated at $153.29. When comparing this to the earnings-based intrinsic value of $103.62, we observe a divergence in the valuation perspectives. While the FCF model suggests a modest overvaluation with a margin of safety of -21.6%, it still indicates that the stock is not undervalued. This discrepancy between the two models highlights the uncertainty surrounding the valuation of VRSK.
How Does GF Value™ Compare to the DCF Models? According to GuruFocus, the GF Value™ for Verisk Analytics is calculated at $320.00, suggesting that the stock is undervalued by 41.7%. This proprietary measure is derived from historical trading multiples, past business growth, and future performance estimates. The divergence among the three models—DCF earnings, DCF FCF, and GF Value™—indicates a lack of consensus on the stock's valuation, which investors should consider carefully. For more insights, visit the GF Value™ page.
What Does VRSK's GF Score™ Tell Us? The GF Score™ assesses a company's overall performance based on various metrics, including financial strength, profitability, growth, valuation, and momentum. For Verisk Analytics, the GF Score™ stands at 82/100, indicating solid performance in various areas. However, the predictability rank of 1/5 stars suggests that the DCF model may not be as reliable for this stock due to its low predictability. Below is a summary of the GF Score™ metrics:
Metric Rating GF Score™ 82/100 Financial Strength 4/10 Profitability 9/10 Growth 9/10 Valuation 4/10 Momentum 4/10 For further details on VRSK's performance, visit the VRSK stock page.
Key Assumptions and Limitations It is important to note that DCF models are highly sensitive to the assumptions made regarding growth rates and discount rates. Stocks with low predictability ratings, such as VRSK, tend to produce less reliable DCF estimates. The terminal growth rate of 4% is a simplifying assumption that may not reflect the actual long-term growth potential of the company.
What This Means for Investors In synthesizing the findings from the DCF earnings model, the DCF FCF model, and the GF Value™, we see a clear tension in the valuation perspectives. The earnings-based DCF suggests significant overvaluation, while the FCF model indicates modest overvaluation, and the GF Value™ presents a contrasting view of undervaluation. Additionally, the guru ownership signal shows that 11 gurus currently hold the stock, with 6 adding to their positions and 3 trimming, while insiders have been net selling over the past year. This mixed signal adds another layer of complexity for investors. As such, careful consideration of these models and qualitative factors is essential. For a deeper dive into the valuation, check out the VRSK DCF Calculator.

It doesn't matter your age or experience: taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for all investors. Luckily, Zacks Premium offers several different ways to do both.
The popular research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor, giving you access to daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens.
Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores.
What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores is a unique set of guidelines that rates stocks based on three popular investing types, and were developed as complementary indicators for the Zacks Rank. This combination helps investors choose securities with the highest chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.
Growth ScoreGrowth investors are more concerned with a stock's future prospects, and the overall financial health and strength of a company. Thus, the Growth Style Score analyzes characteristics like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will see sustainable growth over time.
VGM ScoreIf you want a combination of all three Style Scores, then the VGM Score will be your friend. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, helping you find the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. It's also one of the best indicators to use with the Zacks Rank.
How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank is a proprietary stock-rating model that harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to help investors build a successful portfolio.
#1 (Strong Buy) stocks have produced an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988, which is more than double the S&P 500's performance over the same time frame. However, the Zacks Rank examines a ton of stocks, and there can be more than 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, and another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.
This totals more than 800 top-rated stocks, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick the best stocks for you and your portfolio.
That's where the Style Scores come in.
You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible.
Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy.
A stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, for instance, even one with Scores of A and B, will still have a declining earnings forecast, and a greater chance its share price will fall too.
Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.

Key Takeaways Verisk's subscriptions reached 83% of Q2 revenues, while organic constant-currency growth was 8%.VRSK trades at 21.7X forward earnings, above sub-industry and sector averages of 18.8X and 18.1X.Verisk's operating cash flow rose 49.7% to $366M, while net interest expense increased to $52.8M. Verisk Analytics, Inc. (VRSK - Free Report) offers investors a durable subscription model, improving operating trends and strong cash generation. The question is whether those qualities justify paying more than key valuation benchmarks.
The trade-off is clear. Recurring revenues and product investment support visibility, but higher financing costs and operating expenses raise the execution bar at a still-premium multiple.
VRSK Builds on a Subscription-Led Revenue BaseSubscription revenues represented 83% of second-quarter 2026 revenues, up from 82% a year earlier, and grew 8% on an organic constant-currency basis. The mix strengthens predictability because subscription fees are generally paid in advance, while renewal pricing is supported by product and data enhancements.
Deferred revenues rose to $573.9 million at June 30, 2026, from $444.2 million at the end of 2025. That increase, along with annual price increases tied to enhancements in forms, rules and loss-cost services, gives Verisk a firmer base for revenue visibility.
Verisk Couples Growth With Strong Cash GenerationSecond-quarter revenues increased 4.3% year over year to $806.3 million, while adjusted earnings rose 5.3% to $1.98 per share. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 4.2% to $463.6 million, with the margin at 57.5%, underscoring continued operating discipline.
Verisk Analytics, Inc. Revenue (Quarterly)Verisk Analytics, Inc. EPS Diluted (Quarterly)Cash conversion was a bigger positive. Operating cash flow jumped 49.7% to $366 million and free cash flow advanced 57.9% to $297.9 million. That capacity supports investment in software, artificial intelligence and scalable technology while funding dividends and share repurchases.
VRSK Still Commands a Valuation PremiumVRSK trades at 21.7X forward 12-month earnings, above the Zacks sub-industry average of 18.8X and the Zacks sector average of 18.1X. The premium means investors are already paying for a meaningful measure of business quality and recurring-revenue resilience.
The multiple is less demanding relative to Verisk’s own history. Its five-year median is 35.6X, with the range spanning 19.6X to 43.5X. Even so, a valuation above current peer benchmarks leaves less room for disappointment if growth or margins soften.

Verisk Faces Higher Debt and Margin PressuresTotal debt stood at $4.47 billion at June 30, 2026, including $4.22 billion of long-term debt and $257.7 million of short-term debt. Net interest expense rose to $52.8 million in the second quarter from $35.5 million a year earlier, increasing the cost of carrying that leverage.
Cost pressure is another offset. Cost of revenues increased 1.7% year over year, partly on higher personnel, benefits and information-technology expenses, while selling, general and administrative expenses rose 20.8% on legal fees, advisory costs and acquisition-related expenses.
VRSK Signals Favor Selectivity Over AggressionThe operating backdrop supports patience rather than an aggressive entry. Guidewire Software, Inc. (GWRE - Free Report) also serves property and casualty insurers with core software and analytics, while CCC Intelligent Solutions Holdings Inc. (CCC - Free Report) uses cloud, data and artificial intelligence across insurance claims and repair workflows. Those peers highlight the broader push toward embedded insurance technology and automation.
VRSK currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank stocks here.
VRSK carries a VGM Score of B, Growth Score of B, Momentum Score of B and Value Score of C. A #3 rank can support holding a stock, while the B scores point to favorable growth and momentum characteristics. The Value Score of C is more neutral, fitting a stock with solid operating quality but a valuation that still warrants selectivity.
Key Takeaways Verisk's XactAI users rose nearly tenfold since March 2026 to almost 7,000 licensees.VRSK released seven Core Lines Reimagine modules in Q2 and remains on track for 25 in 2026.Verisk's subscription revenues grew 8% organically as subscriptions reached 83% of Q2 revenues. Verisk Analytics, Inc. (VRSK - Free Report) is moving deeper into insurer AI workflows as customers shift from pilots toward broader deployment. The second quarter of 2026 brought new AI connectors, faster XactAI adoption and continued Core Lines Reimagine releases, giving investors more evidence of customer engagement.
Verisk now needs those products to support renewal pricing and recurring growth while containing personnel, information technology and data costs. Execution will determine how much of the technology opportunity reaches earnings.
Verisk Expands AI Access Through AnthropicIn May 2026, Verisk launched two Model Context Protocol connectors with Anthropic for underwriting and claims. The tools bring Verisk data and analytics into Claude workflows while keeping retrieved data within the client session and out of model training.
The move broadens access to Verisk's proprietary datasets without giving up governance controls. Guidewire Software, Inc. (GWRE - Free Report) is pursuing a similar theme, launching an Agentic Framework in August 2026 to help insurers build and manage AI agents inside its cloud platform.
VRSK Sees XactAI Adoption Accelerate SharplyXactAI users increased nearly tenfold since March 2026 to almost 7,000 licensees. The platform supports claims tasks such as summaries, photo labeling, document data extraction and estimating recommendations.
That uptake provides a tangible adoption marker as insurers seek efficiency in claims workflows. Intelligent Solutions Holdings Inc. (CCC - Free Report) has also reported AI moving beyond pilots, with AI-based solutions representing about 11% of its second-quarter 2026 revenues.
Verisk Scales Core Lines Reimagine in 2026Verisk released seven Core Lines Reimagine modules in the second quarter and remains on track to deliver 25 in 2026. The rollout expands the company's ability to embed updated data, analytics and workflow capabilities across core insurance lines.
Verisk has been increasing prices during contract renewals alongside AI and data-driven enhancements. A broader module set can increase client value and support pricing through product improvement.
VRSK Links Innovation to Earnings and RetentionSubscriptions represented 83% of second-quarter 2026 revenues, up from 82% a year earlier, while subscription revenues grew 8% on an organic constant-currency basis. That recurring base gives AI-enabled enhancements a route into renewals and annualized recurring revenue.
Earnings estimates for 2026 and 2027 were revised upward by 0.6% and 0.5% to $7.67 and $8.71, respectively, over the prior 60 days. The key test is whether greater AI adoption translates into sustained pricing, retention and recurring growth rather than simply higher technology spending.

Verisk Must Balance AI Investment With Execution CostsSecond-quarter cost of revenues rose 1.7% year over year, partly because of higher personnel, benefits and information technology and data costs. Selling, general and administrative expenses increased 20.8%.
Technology exposure also brings operating risks. Cybersecurity breaches, dependence on external data sources and misuse of data by third-party contractors could hurt customer trust or create contractual and pricing issues.
VRSK's Signals Support a Measured AI ThesisVerisk's adoption indicators are encouraging, but monetization and cost discipline remain the deciding variables. Faster XactAI usage, broader Core Lines Reimagine deployment and subscription growth show engagement, while execution risks can limit how much value reaches earnings.
VRSK currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 (Strong Buy) Rank stocks here.
The company carries a Growth Score of B, Momentum Score of B and VGM Score of B, alongside a Value Score of C. The B scores are favorable style signals, but the #3 rank and Value Score of C support a measured view of the AI catalyst.
Key Takeaways Verisk shares rose 12.1% in three months, outperforming the industry's 9.1% growth.Subscription revenues, SaaS demand and catastrophe solutions are supporting Verisk's growth.Verisk faces pressure from rising operating costs, interest expenses and litigation fees. Shares of Verisk Analytics, Inc. (VRSK - Free Report) have had a decent run over the past three months. The stock has risen 12.1%, outperforming the industry’s 9.1% growth. The Zacks S&P 500 composite has risen 3% over the said time frame.
VRSK has a Growth Score of B. This style score condenses key financial metrics to reflect a fair sense of the quality and sustainability of its growth.
The company’s third-quarter 2026 earnings are expected to increase 11.6% year over year. Its 2026 and 2027 earnings are projected to rise 7.1% and 13.5%, respectively. Revenues are expected to grow 5% in 2026 and 6.6% in 2027.
Factors That Bode Well for VRSKVerisk’s growth is primarily driven by its subscription model. Higher annualized recurring revenues with direct written premium growth positively impact the overall financial performance. Moreover, rising demand for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products supports growth in VRSK’s subscribed offerings.
During the second quarter of 2026, Underwriting revenues increased 3.5% year over year to $569 million, while Claims revenues rose 4.3% to $231 million. Continued enhancements in the models and content supporting Verisk’s forms, rules and loss cost services and the expansion of catastrophe and risk solutions to new as well as existing customers have started to benefit the company.
VRSK remains focused on innovation and acquisitions. It continues to invest in global companies to enhance its data and analytical capabilities. Recently, the company acquired SuranceBay, a leading provider of producer licensing, onboarding, appointment and compliance solutions, which is expected to expand VRSK’s life and annuity offerings.
The company is witnessing growing customer demand for artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled underwriting, fraud detection and catastrophe modeling solutions. The company announced an agreement with KatRisk on its Model Exchange to strengthen its open catastrophe risk modeling ecosystem by enabling insurers and reinsurers with transparent and defensible climate-driven risk insights.
VRSK has demonstrated a strong commitment to its shareholders through consistent dividend payments and share repurchases. The company paid dividends of $196.8 million, $221.3 million and $251.3 million, while repurchasing shares worth $2.8 billion, $1 billion and $624 million in 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively. This consistency underscores its dedication to creating long-term value for investors.
Watch Out for These Risks to VRSK StockVerisk faces intensifying pressure from soaring operating expenses, which weigh heavily on profitability and the company’s strategic outlook. Sustained cost growth erodes margins and limits VRSK’s ability to invest in strategic initiatives, making expense management difficult. The company reported a decline in net income, which was driven by increased net interest expenses and legal fees connected with ongoing litigation.
The company’s business model revolves around a huge amount of data, making it susceptible to security breaches in its facilities, computer networks and databases. Dependence on external sources for data, as well as data theft and misuse by third-party contractors, can lead to contractual and pricing issues with data suppliers, loss of business and harm to the company’s overall well-being.
Verisk currently carries a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

In late December, Verisk had said its decision to terminate the deal followed a notification from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission that the agency had not completed its review of the transaction by the termination date of December 26.
AccuLynx had notified Verisk that it believed the deal termination was invalid. Verisk had said it strongly disagreed with the assertion and planned to "vigorously" defend its position.
Verisk had unveiled its plan to acquire AccuLynx in July 2025, a deal that was initially expected to close by the third quarter of 2025.
The FTC had in October sought more details from Verisk and AccuLynx about the proposed transaction, signifying an extended regulatory review and delaying the closing of the deal.
The judge said on Friday that AccuLynx was entitled to damages for direct costs with interest.
The deal is subject to FTC approval.

What this transaction means for investorsInvestors shouldn’t be concerned about this sale. It was a predetermined sale under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted by Shavel in December 2025. This rule allows insiders to decide to sell (or purchase) shares well in advance to avoid the appearance of acting on any material non-public information about the company.
Moreover, this sale represented a tiny percentage of Shavel’s overall ownership of the company’s shares. He still held 98,490 shares on July 29, 2026.
While the stock has underperformed the broader market, the business has mostly performed in line with its historical pattern. On a trailing-12-month basis, revenue grew 5% to $3.1 billion.
However, earnings per share were $6.51 for the same period, slightly down from $6.71 reported in 2024. The weak earnings performance can explain why the stock has underperformed this year.
Still, analysts expect earnings to grow 13% annualized over the next two years. The stock’s dip is offering investors better value, with the forward price-to-earnings multiple at 23x, a discount to the typical premium Verisk Analytics trades at.
Verisk CargoNet documented 677 incidents in Q2 2026, down 14 percent from the previous quarter and 26 percent from Q2 2025.But severity rose. Estimated losses reached $304.6 million, more than double the $135.7 million estimated for Q2 2025, as several multimillion-dollar thefts sharply increased financial severity. Physical thefts of loaded equipment and non-delivery fraud involving recently acquired motor carriers fell significantly, particularly in California and Texas, but compromise-based schemes such as business email fraud and shipment misdirection continued at steady levels. JERSEY CITY, N.J., Aug. 06, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading data analytics and technology provider to the global insurance industry, today released its second-quarter cargo theft analysis based on findings from its CargoNet business, showing that while cargo theft incidents continued to decline, the financial impact of those crimes escalated sharply.
Verisk CargoNet documented 677 supply chain theft incidents across the United States and Canada in the second quarter of 2026, a 26 percent decline from Q2 2025 and a 14 percent decrease from the previous quarter.
Despite the lower incident volume, total estimated cargo losses more than doubled year over year, reaching $304.6 million in Q2 2026, up from $135.7 million in Q2 2025. The average value among thefts with a reported commodity value reached $564,009, although that figure was heavily influenced by a small number of extreme, multimillion-dollar losses.
“Lower incident volume should not be mistaken for lower risk,” said Keith Lewis, vice president of operations at Verisk CargoNet. “The groups driving the largest losses are not necessarily trying to steal more freight; they are trying to identify the right shipment. Their focus on metals and enterprise technology shows how closely organized cargo theft now follows value, demand and resale opportunity.”
Non-Delivery and Physical Theft Decline, but Compromise-Based Schemes Persist
Verisk CargoNet’s analysis indicates that the decline was driven in part by fewer non-delivery schemes in which malicious actors acquired existing, reputable motor carriers, booked shipments under those companies’ established operating authorities and reputations, and picked up freight with no intent to deliver it. Verisk CargoNet also recorded fewer organized thefts of unattended, loaded trailers and ocean containers.
The reductions were especially apparent in California and Texas. In both states, theft schemes involving business email compromise or shipment misdirection remained comparatively stable, while this form of non-delivery activity declined significantly. Verisk CargoNet also recorded less organized activity targeting unattended, loaded equipment in major metropolitan areas such as South Florida and Dallas–Fort Worth.
The difference can also be seen in Verisk CargoNet’s incident classifications. Events classified as theft declined from 488 in Q2 2025 to 378 in Q2 2026, while fictitious pickup incidents fell only slightly, from 165 to 158 events.
Metals and High-End Technology Remain Priority Targets
The decline in theft activity was not evenly distributed across commodity categories.
Metal theft increased by 26 events, rising from 54 incidents in Q2 2025 to 80 in Q2 2026. Copper remained the most frequently targeted metal, while thefts involving aluminum, nickel, tungsten and other specialized industrial metals also increased.
Organized groups also continued targeting enterprise-grade computer and networking equipment, components and cryptocurrency mining hardware. These shipments may be worth several million dollars but frequently move through the supply chain as conventional dry freight, creating a significant mismatch between their financial value and their ordinary transportation and security profile.
Food and beverage theft declined overall. Thefts involving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and mixed grocery products collectively fell by 36 events, while seafood theft moved in the opposite direction, increasing by 11 events. Verisk CargoNet also recorded substantial decreases in thefts of auto parts and tires, along with fewer thefts involving supplements, protein products and over-the-counter medications.
Business Email Compromise Remains a Primary Threat
Business email compromise remained the primary access point for many of the quarter’s most sophisticated cargo theft schemes.
Compromised accounts can provide criminals with access to shipment information, communication systems, contact directories and transportation management tools. That access may enable them to identify high-value shipments, impersonate trusted parties and alter shipment details while appearing legitimate to brokers, carriers, shippers and receivers.
Verisk CargoNet continues to see organized groups expand what they can obtain from a single compromised account, turning access to one business system into access to several parts of the shipment process.
Taken together, the Q2 results point to a more concentrated cargo theft environment: fewer incidents overall, but persistent account-compromise and shipment-misdirection activity and greater exposure to extreme losses. Verisk CargoNet expects organized groups to continue specializing in metals, enterprise technology and other commodities with high values and established resale markets. Analysts will monitor whether the decline in non-delivery and physical theft persists through the second half of 2026 as compromise-based tactics continue to evolve.

Based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics, each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F. The better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform; an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on.
The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:
Value ScoreFor value investors, it's all about finding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value before the broader market catches on. The Value Style Score utilizes ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to help pick out the most attractive and discounted stocks.
Growth ScoreWhile good value is important, growth investors are more focused on a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score takes projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow into account to uncover stocks that will see long-term, sustainable growth.
Momentum ScoreMomentum investors, who live by the saying "the trend is your friend," are most interested in taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Utilizing one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, among other factors, the Momentum Style Score can help determine favorable times to buy high-momentum stocks.
How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.
It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988.
Here's an example: a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one with Style Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings outlook, and a bigger chance its share price will decrease too.
Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.

What are the Zacks Style Scores? The Zacks Style Scores, developed alongside the Zacks Rank, are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing methodologies; they also help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.
Each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics. Just like in school, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on -- that means the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform.
The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:
Value ScoreFinding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value, are what value investors like to focus on. So, the Value Style Score takes into account ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and a host of other multiples to highlight the most attractive and discounted stocks.

The direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should always be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy, since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank.
For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well.

Estimate captures insured property losses from ground shaking and liquefaction and are before any recoveries under Japan's earthquake insurance program August 02, 2026 20:05 ET | Source: Verisk Analytics, Inc.
BOSTON, Aug. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Catastrophe and Risk Solutions group at Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology provider to the global insurance industry, estimates insured losses of between JPY 220 billion (approximately USD 1.4 billion) and JPY 340 billion (approximately USD 2.1 billion) from the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck near Kumamoto City on Japan's Kyushu Island on July 28.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred south of Kumamoto at a shallow depth of approximately 10 kilometers and resulted from shallow strike-slip faulting within the Eurasian Plate. The event struck a region that experienced a devastating earthquake sequence in 2016, including a magnitude 7.0 mainshock that caused widespread property damage and a significant loss of life.
Reported Damage and Economic Impacts
The July earthquake caused widespread damage across Kumamoto Prefecture, where the strongest shaking was recorded in Uki City and Hikawa Town. Authorities reported hundreds of damaged homes and commercial buildings, damage to cultural landmarks and public infrastructure, and ongoing assessments of structural impacts throughout the affected region. Transportation networks were significantly disrupted, including damage to highways, bridges and rail infrastructure, while approximately 48,000 households experienced power outages in the immediate aftermath of the event.
The event also affected one of Japan's most important manufacturing hubs. Several semiconductor, electronic and automotive facilities temporarily suspended operations while inspections and damage assessments were conducted, raising concerns about supply chain disruptions.
Modeling Information
Verisk's insured loss estimates are dominated by damage from ground shaking, with a comparatively small contribution from other modeled earthquake perils. The loss range reflects uncertainty related to fault slip distribution, ground-motion intensity, damage estimation and earthquake insurance take-up rates in Japan.
Verisk's estimates include insured physical damage to residential, commercial, industrial and mutual property risks, including both structures and contents. The estimates exclude losses to uninsured properties, infrastructure, automobiles, business interruption, workers' compensation, marine and aviation risks, loss adjustment expenses, demand surge and losses arising from certain non-modeled perils such as landslide and fire following.
Verisk continues to monitor impacts from this event and may provide additional information.

VRSK's subscription revenue, representing 83% of total, grew 8% OCC, supporting a high-single-digit growth thesis and reducing reliance on transactional volumes. FY2026 guidance appears achievable, with H2 growth set to accelerate due to easier comps and the resumption of a federal contract.
MarketBeat Week in Review – 02/16 - 02/20Verisk Analytics NASDAQ: VRSK reported second-quarter revenue of $806 million, up 4% from a year earlier, as subscription revenue growth and continued demand across underwriting and claims helped offset pressure in transactional businesses tied to lower weather activity and softer commercial-property markets.
Organic constant-currency revenue rose 5.8% in the quarter, accelerating sequentially from the first quarter, while subscription revenue grew 8% and represented 83% of total revenue. President and Chief Executive Officer Lee Shavel said the company saw balanced growth across underwriting and claims and that results were modestly ahead of expectations.

Verisk Is Extremely Oversold—2 Reasons Contrarians Are Circling“We continue to have confidence that the resolution of these short-term factors and core growth momentum will result in continued sequential improvement in revenue growth as we move through the second half of the year,” Shavel said.
Profitability and full-year outlook GAAP net income declined 10% year over year to $229 million, while diluted GAAP earnings per share fell 3% to $1.75. Chief Financial Officer Elizabeth Mann attributed the declines to a divestiture completed at the end of 2025, a higher tax rate, increased interest expense and higher legal fees related to ongoing litigation. Higher operating results and a lower average share count partly offset those factors.
Organic constant-currency adjusted EBITDA increased 7.4%. Adjusted EBITDA margin was 57.5%, down 10 basis points from the prior-year period. Mann noted that the prior-year quarter benefited from a 120-basis-point foreign-exchange translation effect; excluding that nonrecurring benefit, the company reported margin expansion driven by revenue growth, expense discipline and global talent optimization initiatives.
Verisk reaffirmed its 2026 outlook, including:
Revenue of $3.19 billion to $3.24 billion. Adjusted EBITDA of $1.79 billion to $1.83 billion. Adjusted EBITDA margin of 56% to 56.5%. Adjusted EPS of $7.45 to $7.75. Net interest expense of $190 million to $200 million and an effective tax rate of 23% to 26%. Free cash flow increased 58% to $298 million, while operating cash flow rose 50% to $366 million. During the quarter, the company paid a $0.50-per-share dividend, up 11% from a year earlier, and initiated a $200 million accelerated share repurchase program in addition to a $1.5 billion first-quarter program. Verisk retired 8.5 million shares in the first half and had about $800 million remaining under its repurchase authorization after the programs concluded.
Subscription strength offsets transactional pressure Mann said subscription growth was supported by forms, rules and loss-cost offerings, catastrophe and risk solutions, and anti-fraud analytics. Drivers included price realization on renewals, expanded customer relationships and new customers.
Transactional revenue, representing 17% of total revenue, declined 4.2% on an organic constant-currency basis. The company cited difficult comparisons with prior-year overages, lower commercial-property volumes, the carryover effect of lower weather-related events, and lower international-travel volumes related primarily to Middle Eastern travel disruptions. Strong insurance-linked securities issuance within catastrophe and risk solutions partially offset the decline, though Mann said that benefit was not expected to recur in the third quarter.
Saurabh Khemka, president of Underwriting Solutions, said soft commercial-property pricing has led some carriers to quote fewer opportunities and scrutinize spending on underwriting data and analytics. He said the impact was concentrated in transactional revenue, while the underlying subscription business remained healthy.
Management said the company expects gradual organic growth improvement in the second half, but cautioned that a slow start to hurricane season, softer commercial-property activity and the absence of the second-quarter ILS benefit could pressure transactional revenue. Mann said a federal government contract work stoppage had been lifted at the start of the third quarter for a one-year term.
AI products, catastrophe platform and acquisition Shavel highlighted growing client interest in applying artificial intelligence to underwriting and claims workflows. In May, Verisk announced two connectors for Anthropic’s Claude platform that allow customers to access Verisk underwriting intelligence and claims solutions through natural-language interactions. Shavel said a top-10 carrier was already using the technology, while Mann said the connectors are included in customers’ base subscriptions and customers separately bear Claude token costs.
The company also reported expanding adoption of XactAI, its claims-focused AI offering. Since March, the number of XactAI users has increased nearly 10-fold, reaching almost 7,000 licensees. Shavel said the offering helps automate activities including claim summarization, photo labeling, document-data extraction and estimating recommendations.
While management said AI-related monetization remains early and difficult to quantify, Shavel said the technology is supporting stronger renewal pricing in products including Premium Audit AI and XactAI. He said future monetization could include subscription pricing, initial transactional pricing for new applications and software or platform licensing for agentic AI solutions.
Verisk also launched its cloud-native Verisk Synergy Studio platform and re-engineered U.S. Tropical Cyclone Model during the quarter. The platform combines catastrophe models, analytics, computing and workflows, and includes the company’s global model suite on its next-generation modeling framework. Management said initial clients have been onboarded and additional migrations are planned through the remainder of the year.
Separately, Verisk closed the tuck-in acquisition of McKenzie Intelligence Services, a geospatial intelligence and event-response company focused on real-time catastrophe and conflict analysis. The business will join Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions.
Shavel also announced that Chief Information Officer Nick Defond is departing after two decades with the company. Chief Technology Officer Jeff Negrete will serve as interim CIO while Verisk searches for a permanent replacement.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.
Verisk shares have lost about 5.1% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 8.5%.
What's Next for Verisk? While Verisk has underperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?
There are no easy answers to this key question, but one reliable measure that can help investors address this is the company's earnings outlook. Not only does this include current consensus earnings expectations for the coming quarter(s), but also how these expectations have changed lately.
Empirical research shows a strong correlation between near-term stock movements and trends in earnings estimate revisions. Investors can track such revisions by themselves or rely on a tried-and-tested rating tool like the Zacks Rank, which has an impressive track record of harnessing the power of earnings estimate revisions.
Ahead of this earnings release, the estimate revisions trend for Verisk was unfavorable. While the magnitude and direction of estimate revisions could change following the company's just-released earnings report, the current status translates into a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) for the stock. So, the shares are expected to underperform the market in the near future. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.
It will be interesting to see how estimates for the coming quarters and the current fiscal year change in the days ahead. The current consensus EPS estimate is $1.93 on $810.33 million in revenues for the coming quarter and $7.64 on $3.23 billion in revenues for the current fiscal year.
Investors should be mindful of the fact that the outlook for the industry can have a material impact on the performance of the stock as well. In terms of the Zacks Industry Rank, Business - Information Services is currently in the top 30% of the 250 plus Zacks industries. Our research shows that the top 50% of the Zacks-ranked industries outperform the bottom 50% by a factor of more than 2 to 1.

Key Takeaways Verisk added KatRisk to Model Exchange, expanding independent catastrophe risk modeling options. VRSK launched an upgraded U.S. Tropical Cyclone Model with enhanced climate and cloud analytics. VRSK supported growth via acquisitions, dividends, share repurchases and expanded insurance solutions. Verisk Analytics’ (VRSK - Free Report) agreement to bring KatRisk onto its Model Exchange strengthens the platform’s position as an open, multi-vendor catastrophe risk modeling ecosystem. By adding KatRisk’s climate-informed models covering perils, such as inland flood, wildfire, tropical cyclone, storm surge and earthquake, VRSK broadens the range of independent risk perspectives available to insurers and reinsurers.
The move comes as the insurance industry faces rising climate-related losses and increasing regulatory scrutiny, increasing the importance of transparent, comparable and defensible catastrophe models. Expanding the platform’s portfolio of third-party models is expected to enhance underwriting, portfolio management and capital planning while reinforcing Verisk’s role as a key provider of risk analytics and decision-support solutions for the global insurance market.
The company’s reengineered U.S. Tropical Cyclone Model, delivered through its cloud-native Synergy Studio platform, represents a significant enhancement to its catastrophe risk analytics capabilities. By integrating updated climate science, refined hazard and vulnerability modeling, and a reengineered stochastic event catalog, the model provides insurers, reinsurers and capital market participants with a more realistic assessment of hurricane-related risks and potential losses.
The launch also strengthens VRSK’s competitive position by combining advanced scientific modeling with scalable cloud-based analytics, enabling faster risk assessments, improved portfolio management and more transparent, defensible decision-making as climate-related weather events become more frequent and severe.
VRSK continues to reward shareholders through consistent dividend payments and share repurchases. The company paid out dividends of $195.2 million, $196.8 million, $221.3 million and $251.3 million, while repurchasing shares worth $1.7 billion, $2.8 billion, $1 billion and $624 million in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively.
The company’s growth strategy is also driven by its strong focus on innovation and acquisitions, as it rapidly invests in global companies to enhance its data and analytical capabilities. Recently, the company acquired SuranceBay, a leading provider of producer licensing, onboarding, appointment and compliance solutions, which is expected to expand VRSK’s life and annuity offerings.

BOSTON, July 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Catastrophe and Risk Solutions group at Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, estimates economic losses from the June 24, 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela will likely exceed USD 10 billion. Verisk notes a higher degree of uncertainty than usual in estimating the insured share of industry losses because of Venezuela's macroeconomic conditions, elevated inflation, low insurance penetration, and sanctions-related market complexities.
Earthquake Sequence and Impacts
On June 24, Venezuela was struck by a rare earthquake doublet near Yumare-Morón in Yaracuy state, approximately 100 miles west of Caracas. A magnitude 7.2 foreshock was followed just 39 seconds later by a magnitude 7.5 mainshock, making it the strongest earthquake to impact Venezuela since 1900. The shallow strike-slip rupture occurred along the San Sebastián fault system within the tectonically active boundary zone between the Caribbean and South American plates and was subsequently followed by more than 430 recorded aftershocks.
Damage was most severe in the Caracas metropolitan region and the coastal state of La Guaira, where an estimated 1,400 buildings were destroyed. Significant destruction was also reported across Aragua, Carabobo, and Yaracuy states. Communities including Puerto Cabello, Catia La Mar, Maiquetía, San Felipe, Los Teques, Petare, Valencia, and Baruta experienced severe shaking, according to U.S. Geological Survey intensity estimates.
Modeling Information
Because of Venezuela's economic environment, Verisk notes greater uncertainty than is typical for an industry loss estimate. Factors contributing to this uncertainty include assumptions regarding earthquake insurance take-up rates, ongoing inflationary pressures, and the challenges associated with accurately valuing insured assets in a rapidly changing economic environment.
The modeled insured loss estimates do not include losses resulting from fire-following, landslides, sprinkler leakage, loss adjustment expenses, damage to uninsured properties or infrastructure, extra-contractual obligations, hazardous waste cleanup, vandalism, or civil commotion, whether directly or indirectly caused by the event. The estimates also exclude losses associated with civil engineering (railway) risks, marine cargo and marine hull risks, aviation risks, transit warehouse risks, personal accident risks, and other non-modeled sources of loss.
Building Stock and Earthquake Vulnerability
Today, the majority of residential buildings in Venezuela's urban areas are constructed of masonry, including reinforced masonry, confined masonry, and unreinforced masonry structures. Reinforced concrete is the predominant construction type in mid- and high-rise residential buildings, particularly in major urban centers such as Caracas.
Although modern engineering standards exist, seismic performance varies significantly due to local construction practices, material quality, and enforcement of building codes.
Insurance Market in Venezuela
Venezuela's insurance and reinsurance sector remains relatively small and highly concentrated compared to many global markets. The industry continues to operate under challenging macroeconomic conditions characterized by elevated inflation, currency depreciation, regulatory complexity, and limited market capacity.
These conditions create additional uncertainty when estimating insured losses following a catastrophe. Variations in earthquake insurance penetration, coverage levels, and insured property values can materially influence the ultimate insured share of economic losses resulting from the earthquake sequence.

Investors in Verisk Analytics, Inc. (VRSK - Free Report) need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the Sept. 18, 2026 $140.00 Call had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today.
What is Implied Volatility?Implied volatility shows how much movement the market is expecting in the future. Options with high levels of implied volatility suggest that investors in the underlying stocks are expecting a big move in one direction or the other. It could also mean there is an event coming up soon that may cause a big rally or a huge sell-off. However, implied volatility is only one piece of the puzzle when putting together an options trading strategy.
What do the Analysts Think?Clearly, options traders are pricing in a big move for Verisk Analytics shares, but what is the fundamental picture for the company? Currently, Verisk Analytics is a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) in the Business - Information Services industry that ranks in the Top 19% of our Zacks Industry Rank. Over the last 60 days, three analysts have increased their earnings estimates for the current quarter, while one has dropped the estimate. The net effect has taken our Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current quarter from $1.93 per share to $1.95 in that period.
Given the way analysts feel about Verisk Analytics right now, this huge implied volatility could mean there’s a trade developing. Oftentimes, options traders look for options with high levels of implied volatility to sell premium. This is a strategy many seasoned traders use because it captures decay. At expiration, the hope for these traders is that the underlying stock does not move as much as originally expected.
, /PRNewswire/ -- Trucker Path, providers of the most comprehensive and relied upon mobile app for North American truckers, today announced a collaboration with Verisk CargoNet®, a Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK) business and leader in cargo theft prevention and recovery. The collaboration introduces cargo theft trend data into Trucker Path Navigation, an all-in-one commercial navigation and fleet management platform, helping drivers identify higher-risk areas and make more informed routing decisions and better understand risk along their routes.
Trucker Path leverages Verisk CargoNet data to help commercial truck drivers identify high-risk cargo theft areas. The collaboration introduces cargo theft trend data into Trucker Path Navigation, an all-in-one commercial navigation and fleet management platform, helping drivers identify higher-risk areas and make more informed routing decisions and better understand risk along their routes. Combatting Cargo Theft
The launch comes as cargo theft continues to pose a persistent risk across the U.S. supply chain. In the first five months of 2026, Verisk CargoNet recorded 1,120 cargo theft incidents and more than $121 million in estimated losses.
"Cargo security continues to be a growing concern for fleets and drivers," said Chris Oliver, CMO at Trucker Path. "By incorporating a Verisk CargoNet theft cloud overlay in Trucker Path, drivers will instantly know when they're in high theft areas. That level of heightened awareness will lead to proactive deterrence."
Trucker Path's platform already provides truck-specific navigation, including real-time free and reserved parking availability, fuel pricing, weigh station status, and other essential operational data.
The addition of Verisk CargoNet data adds a new layer of visibility, which can help truck drivers learn about and avoid riskier areas. According to Verisk:
California, Texas, and New Jersey were the top targeted states, accounting for more than half of all cargo theft activity in Q1 2026 Theft activity is heavily concentrated in high-traffic logistics environments, with warehouse/distribution centers and truck stops among the most common incident locations The capability, now live in the Trucker Path app, provides drivers with actionable theft intelligence, including:
Theft Risk Rating per county (rated Low, Medium and High Risk) Total stolen vehicles count (updated monthly) Most stolen commodity categories (e.g., Household, Food & Beverage, Vehicle Accessories) Common theft subtypes (e.g., Cargo Only, Full Truck, Trailer) The ability to filter by risk severity (High, Medium, Low) to focus on and potentially avoid highest-risk segments "Cargo theft insights can help transportation companies reduce exposure to theft and improve safety for drivers," said Ryan Shepherd, general manager of Verisk CargoNet. "Theft risk is increasingly tied to specific locations and operational environments, particularly in high-density logistics regions and common stop points along freight routes. Integrating this data directly into navigation tools helps close a critical visibility gap for drivers and fleet operators."
The availability of Verisk CargoNet insights within Trucker Path reflects an initiative toward more proactive, data-informed decision-making across the supply chain, as fleets look for ways to anticipate and mitigate evolving cargo theft risks.

First-quarter results improved largely due to continued momentum in personal auto underwriting, alongside a more stable catastrophe experience relative to the prior year. Some carriers have returned personal auto premiums through elevated policyholder dividends, marking a shift from recent periods of auto rate increases. At the same time, broader market conditions are mixed and other lines of insurance continue to face pressure.
“Industry profitability improved in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, driven largely by moderating inflation and an unusual respite from natural catastrophes over the past 12 months,” said Robert Gordon, senior vice president, policy, research and international, APCIA. “In good news for policyholders, premium increases continued to slow. Net written premium growth slowed sharply to 2.9 percent in Q1 2026, down from 9.6 percent in Q1 2024 and 6.8 percent in Q1 2025. When factoring in inflation and $6.2 billion returned to policyholders through dividends, written premiums have effectively declined in 2026.”
“Net income bounced back in Q1 2026 following a 50 percent decline in Q1 2025. At the same time, legal system abuse and rising claims severity continue to be among the industry’s most significant headwinds. States such as Florida that have enacted meaningful legal system abuse reforms are beginning to see progress, including stabilization and reductions in auto and homeowners’ insurance rates,” Gordon concluded.
Underwriting Industry Financial Results Through Q1 2026, Post-Policyholder Dividends
Written premiums: Net written premium growth slowed to 2.9 percent, compared to 6.8 percent during the same period in 2025.Earned premiums: Net earned premiums rose 3.8 percent, compared to 7.8 percent during the same period in 2025.Underwriting gain: The U.S. P&C insurance industry posted an estimated net underwriting gain of $15.8 billion, an improvement from the $864 million underwriting loss through the first three months of 2025.Incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses: Incurred losses and loss adjustment expenses decreased by 9.6 percent, compared to a 15.5 percent increase in Q1 2025. The combined ratio improved to 92.4 percent, down from 99.2 percent in the same period last year.Surplus: Policyholders’ surplus increased to $1.24 trillion from $1.09 trillion during the same period in 2025.Realized capital gains: Realized capital gains increased to $8.8 billion, compared to $3.7 billion in Q1 2025.Net income: Net income after taxes increased to $40.9 billion from $19.4 billion in Q1 2025. “First-quarter results reflected meaningful improvements, most notably in personal auto, but slower premium growth and continued pressure in casualty underscore an uneven recovery across the market,” said Saurabh Khemka, president of Verisk Underwriting Solutions. “Heading into the 2026 hurricane season, a critical focus for the industry is the potential for catastrophic activity to impact full-year performance. Profitability will need to hold through historically more active second and third quarters, as even in otherwise calm El Niño years, a single event can materially shift outcomes.”
Khemka added, “In today’s market, underwriting performance is increasingly defined by the quality and consistency of individual decisions. Carriers are using more granular data and AI to improve insight into how specific risks are selected, priced and managed across their portfolios, bringing greater discipline to underwriting at scale. That level of precision is critical not only for protecting margins, but for sustaining performance in the year ahead as conditions evolve.”
Note: The results above are based on quarterly statements filed with insurance regulators by private property/casualty insurers domiciled in the United States, including reinsurers, excess and surplus insurers, and domestic insurers owned by foreign parents, and excluding state funds for workers' compensation and other residual market insurers, the National Flood Insurance Program, and foreign insurers. The figures are consolidated estimates based on reports accounting for about 98 percent of all business written by U.S. property/casualty insurers. All figures are net of reinsurance unless otherwise noted and occasionally may not balance due to rounding. Net investment results displayed are post-tax.

It doesn't matter your age or experience: taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for all investors. Luckily, Zacks Premium offers several different ways to do both.
Featuring daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, the research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor.
Zacks Premium includes access to the Zacks Style Scores as well.
What are the Zacks Style Scores? Developed alongside the Zacks Rank, the Zacks Style Scores are a group of complementary indicators that help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.
Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time.
How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.
It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +24% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.
But it can feel overwhelming to pick the right stocks for you and your investing goals with over 800 top-rated stocks to choose from.

New Verisk Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors enable conversational, natural-language interactions, provide contextual access to Verisk’s trusted insurance analytics inside enterprise AI environments. Enables underwriting and claims professionals to access Verisk’s regulatory-grade data within Claude, surfacing relevant insights and reducing manual tasks. AI-enabled insurance workflows with embedded governance and security controls that reinforce trust, ensure humans remain at the center of every decision. JERSEY CITY, N.J., May 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, today announced its trusted insurance analytics are now available in Claude, Anthropic’s family of AI models, through standardized Verisk Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors. These connectors enable insurance and property restoration professionals to access insights conversationally within a secure, governed environment, and bring meaningful efficiency.
Verisk’s analytics and solutions are used by U.S. property & casualty insurers, including the top 100 insurers, as well as global insurers, reinsurers and brokers. This deep understanding of essential processes, platforms, and workflows positions Verisk to responsibly support the next evolution of how insurance professionals engage with trusted data and analytics through AI.
Building on this foundation, Verisk MCP connectors simplify access to insurance analytics, surfacing contextual insights and streamlining tasks within Claude:
Through MCP connectors, insurance professionals can access Verisk’s proprietary, regulatory-grade data and analytics through generative AI, governed by Verisk’s established data governance framework to support customers’ controlled access and compliance needs. Insights are surfaced through natural language, rather than requiring navigation across multiple systems and dashboards. Helps teams save time by enabling tasks to be streamlined and reducing manual steps. Intelligently presents data and insights that are relevant to the current task or query. This approach combines speed and reliability to meaningfully accelerate mission‑critical underwriting and claims workflows. “Trust is the foundation of insurance, and that doesn’t change as new technologies emerge,” said Lee Shavel, president and CEO of Verisk. “What is changing is how professionals expect to interact with information. Our role is to bring AI into insurance in a way that reflects the realities of the industry – where data must be authoritative, decisions must be explainable, and accountability remains with people. This collaboration with Anthropic applies a conversational interface to Verisk’s governed analytics so professionals can work more efficiently, while upholding the industry’s high standards.”
Verisk MCP Connectors Integrate Trusted Analytics, Contextual Intelligence, and Task Execution into Enterprise AI Workflows
Verisk is launching two connectors in Claude that provide conversational access to its proprietary analytics for underwriting and restoration use cases, enabling professionals to discover insights more quickly while preserving the rigor and reliability required for insurance decision‑making:
Verisk Underwriting Intelligence (ISO Indications):
Through this connector, insurers can access loss cost trends, experience insights, and filing signals from Insurance Services Office (ISO), a Verisk business, using conversational queries within their underwriting workflow. By bringing together insights that typically require navigating multiple tools and datasets, the connector helps underwriters and actuaries more efficiently assess indications, explore emerging patterns, and support underwriting decisions with greater confidence – while ensuring judgment and accountability remain with insurance professionals, consistent with existing processes and controls. It is estimated that integrating AI in this workflow could save hundreds of hours per carrier per year, freeing up capacity for higher-value, strategic analysis. Verisk XactRestore:
Restoration professionals, including contractors who repair property damage following insured events, rely on Xactware from Verisk to support estimating and repair activities tied to insurance claims. Through this connector, professionals can engage with researched pricing and estimating intelligence using natural language, providing a conversational layer that supports scoping, estimate development, and iteration alongside existing estimating processes. It is estimated that experienced contractors can achieve time savings ranging from 30 minutes to two hours per estimate. Responsible AI Built for Insurance
Verisk aligns with insurers’ existing systems, entitlements, and operating models. Model- and platform-agnostic, Verisk’s approach enables clients to integrate Verisk data, insights and AI into their existing environments regardless of their strategy or vendor choices. Verisk’s use of AI is within established, controlled workflows and aligned with its contractual data use, confidentiality, and governance obligations.
Verisk’s collaboration with Anthropic builds on the company’s commitment to applying artificial intelligence responsibly in the insurance market, through rigorous governance and compliance protocols. Verisk has embedded AI across the insurance ecosystem for more than two decades and has deployed approximately 40 agentic and generative AI solutions grounded in proprietary data, deep domain expertise, and transparent, explainable methodologies.
“Insurance is a highly regulated, high-stakes industry, and Verisk has long been a leader for how trusted data and analytics are applied responsibly,” said Mike Ram, Head of Insurance at Anthropic. “By pairing Claude with Verisk’s governed analytics and established controls, this collaboration shows how generative AI can enhance professional decision-making without compromising the rigor and accountability the industry demands.”
Shavel added, “Responsible use of generative AI isn’t just about efficiency – it’s about helping insurers make sound decisions, so consumers and policyholders receive clarity, confidence, and support when it matters most.”

LONDON, May 11, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As UK insurers, brokers, and distributors face increasing pressure to control operating costs, improve customer engagement and bring new products to market faster, digital‑first and technology‑enabled insurance models are gaining traction. Zen Insurance enters the market at a time when speed, efficiency and genuine product choice are becoming critical for competitive differentiators for digital-first brands. One Call is launching Zen Insurance in the UK using Verisk Ignite’s end‑to‑end policy management platform, working in conjunction with Applied Systems Europe’s Applied Rating Hub to support insurer connectivity.
Zen Insurance, a new brand under One Call, will offer a no-touch, fully digital customer experience, enabling consumers to easily manage their policies through online portals, live chat and self-service interactions. This efficient online operating model, powered by Verisk’s policy management system and Applied Rating Hub, enables One Call to pass along cost savings in the competitive customer pricing offered by Zen Insurance.
“Our customers want an easy-to-use platform with seamless transactions and self-service options, and Zen Insurance will deliver just that," said Josh Barnsdale, Chief Technology Officer at One Call. "With Verisk Ignite providing the intuitive end-to-end policy management system and Applied Rating Hub powering real-time access to an influential insurer panel, we have been able to bring Zen Insurance to market with speed and agility.”
Technology Powering Zen Insurance
Verisk Ignite, a cloud‑based policy management platform, will power the brand. Ignite supports the full policy lifecycle — from quote and bind through to mid‑term adjustments, renewals, documentation and billing — enabling high levels of automation while reducing the operational complexity typically associated with launching new insurance brands. As part of Verisk, a long‑standing data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, Ignite brings decades of insurance expertise, enterprise‑grade scale, and strong governance to policy management.
Applied Rating Hub offers a single connection to a marketplace of 30+ personal lines insurers and Managing General Agents (MGAs), featuring more than 100 products and supporting full‑cycle Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) trading across the UK insurance industry. Through a single real‑time connection to multiple insurers, Applied Rating Hub reduces integration complexity and operational bottlenecks, helping businesses reach the market faster and deliver greater choices to customers.
Introducing Zen Insurance’s digital‑first car insurance
Zen Insurance begins with car insurance, supported by technology that enables flexibility across other vehicle categories and home insurance.
“Launching a true customer-first and fully digital insurance solution takes more than a strong front end, it requires process automation and robust, digitally enabled workflows across the entire insurance lifecycle to put real control in the hands of the policyholder and deliver a market-leading customer experience.” said Nick Haldane, Managing Director of Verisk Ignite. “As the market moves rapidly towards a more automated world, the ability to streamline processes, reduce manual intervention, put the power in the hands of the policyholder and respond quickly to change is valuable. We’re excited that Verisk’s end-to-end policy management platform, built for automation and scale, is enabling brands like One Call’s Zen Insurance to enter the market quickly, while delivering the flexibility and efficiency that customers now expect.”
"Digital insurance brands need to enter the market quickly and with genuine product choice if they are to compete effectively, and that requires removing the friction from insurer connectivity," said Matt Wellman, senior director of Enterprise Accounts & Insurer Relationships at Applied Systems. "The collaboration demonstrates exactly how a single connection to Applied Rating Hub can accelerate go-to-market for a fully digital brand, giving Zen Insurance the competitive edge it needs."
