Rambus sits 46% below its 52-week high despite posting record product revenue, and a major AI hyperscaler just handed it a design win that most investors have not noticed yet.

Rambus (NASDAQ:RMBS | RMBS Price Prediction) trades at $93.74 in midday trading. A 24/7 Wall St. price target of $120.50 over the next 12 months implies 28.5% upside. The stock earns a buy rating from the model with high confidence.

Rambus supplies the DDR5 registered clock drivers that sit between processors and memory on server modules, and it licenses HBM4E controller and PCIe 7 switch IP to AI chip designers.

As inference and agentic workloads push more memory channels per CPU, Rambus collects on each one. Investors get that exposure at 26x forward earnings, ahead of third-quarter results due October 26.

Record Revenue, Yet Shares Sit 46% Below the High
The stock fell 4.51% over the past week but gained 7.01% over the past month. It is up 2.01% year to date. Shares traded at $132.48 in mid-June before falling to $81.41 in mid-September, leaving them 46.2% below the 52-week high of $174.10 and 20.3% above the low of $77.89.

The pullback came despite strong results. Second-quarter revenue reached $207.38 million (+20.4% YoY), beating the $198.30 million consensus. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.77 against a $0.715 estimate. Product revenue set a record at $99.15 million, and third-quarter guidance calls for revenue of $210 million to $216 million.

Why Bulls See $173 Ahead
Management expects new products to make up a mid-double-digit share of product revenue by the fourth quarter, up from low-double-digits in Q1. It expects MRDIMM to make a more material contribution in 2027 and the server market to move to 16 channels per CPU.

Rambus also secured an HBM design win with a Tier 1 U.S. hyperscaler and expects silicon IP to grow 10% to 15% a year. CEO Luc Seraphin said “the seeds we’ve planted in the last two years should manifest in 2027.”

Six analysts rate the stock a buy and two a hold, with a consensus target of $141.57. Shares could reach $173.76 in the bull case.

Supply Tightness and Inventory Are the Risks Worth Watching
Operating cash flow fell to $61.2 million (-35.1% YoY) as inventory rose to $74.8 million from $44.1 million at the end of 2025. Management describes this as strategic inventory built for coming product ramps while lead times lengthen, and it says it sees no customer stocking.

Supply tightness also caused a downgrade after Q1, and EPS has missed estimates in two of the last five quarters. Traders using the leveraged Corgi RMBS 2x Daily ETF (CBOE:RMBC) should know it resets daily, which amplifies these swings. Even so, our bear case of $105.38 stands above today’s price.

How Rambus Compares to Micron and Credo
Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) is both a DRAM customer and a pure-play comparison on the memory cycle. The stock changes hands at just 7x forward earnings with a beta of 2.23, a cyclical discount that Rambus’s royalty base helps it avoid.

Credo Technology (NASDAQ:CRDO) competes for the same connectivity spending in data centers built for AI and trades at 31x forward earnings with a beta of 3.25.

Rambus’s multiple stands between the two peers, and its volatility is the lowest of the three. Against that background, the 24/7 Wall St. price target looks reasonable.

Rambus Earns a BUY Rating Ahead of Earnings
The 24/7 Wall St. price target of $120.50 carries a buy rating with 90% confidence. Record product revenue tips the scale, showing Rambus’s growth has held up while its share price has not.

I’d turn more constructive if third-quarter product revenue secured within the $110 million to $116 million guide. Caution would set in if inventory keeps rising without matching sales. For now, the risk-reward points higher.

The projections depend on Rambus keeping pace with its DDR5 and IP roadmap. MRDIMM adoption or extended supply constraints could move results well above or below them.

Every time AI systems demand faster memory and tighter chip interconnects, one under-the-radar semiconductor company collects a toll. The question is whether the market has already priced in the opportunity or is still sleeping on it.

The 24/7 Wall St. price target for Rambus (NASDAQ:RMBS | RMBS Price Prediction) is $132.03 over the next 12 months. From today’s intraday price of $102.33, that works out to about 29% upside. The stock receives a buy rating with high conviction.

Rambus makes the chips and licenses the IP that move data between processors and memory. Its lineup includes DDR5 clock drivers, HBM4E controller IP and PCIe 7 switch IP, so faster AI systems need more of what Rambus sells.

In June, our model rated the stock a sell with a $117.57 target after a big run. The pullback since then, along with better earnings, has reversed that call.

Down 4.78% Today, Up 16.75% in a Month
Shares are off 4.78% today and 8.61% over the past week. Even so, they are up 16.75% over the past month and 11.36% year to date. The stock sits about 41% below its 52-week high of $174.10 and about 31% above its low of $77.89.

Second-quarter revenue rose 20.43% to $207.38 million, ahead of the $198.30 million consensus. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.77 beat the $0.715 estimate, and product revenue hit a record $99.15 million. For the third quarter, Rambus guided to revenue of $210 million to $216 million.

Why Bulls See $176 Ahead
CEO Luc Seraphin said AI workloads are becoming “more diverse, more persistent, and more memory intensive.” Rambus also announced an HBM IP design win with a “Tier 1 US hyperscaler”.

Management expects MRDIMM, which has about four times the silicon content of a standard module, to contribute more significantly in 2027. The consensus target is $141.57, with 6 Buy ratings, 2 Holds and no Sells. Our bull case reaches $176.64.

Inventory and Royalty Swings Are the Risks to Watch
Inventory rose to $74.8 million from $44.1 million at the end of 2025. Operating cash flow fell 35.14%, and royalty guidance of $69 million to $75 million sits below the second quarter’s $84.26 million. Management also expects supply constraints to remain a factor into 2027.

Still, bulls would point out that the inventory is being built on purpose for product launches. As management put it, “We build strategic inventory for the products that we believe are going to contribute to our growth.”

Even the bear case comes in at $113.45. (If you want to see what the early signs of past monster chip winners looked like, we cataloged them in a free playbook here: The Next Nvidia Playbook.)

How Rambus Compares to Marvell and Synopsys
Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) competes for the same AI data center connectivity spending. It trades at a forward P/E of 62x, with an operating margin of 16.7%.

Synopsys (NASDAQ:SNPS) is the closest match on silicon IP licensing and trades at 23x forward earnings.

Rambus trades at about the same multiple as Synopsys while receives more than twice its margin. That comparison makes the 24/7 Wall St. price target look reasonable, and arguably conservative.

Rambus Price Prediction 2026-2030
My 24/7 Wall St. price target is $132.03, with a buy rating and 90% confidence. What tips the scale for me is valuation: Rambus receives peer-leading margins at a forward multiple in the mid-20s.

Things look better if product revenue keeps growing by double digits and MRDIMM launches in 2027. Downside risks grow if royalties keep shrinking and inventory keeps piling up. For now, I think the setup favors the bulls.

Here is where our model projects Rambus to trade if growth trends hold.

2027

2028

2030

The estimates assume Rambus keeps executing on DDR5, MRDIMM and HBM IP. A faster hyperscaler launches could push results toward our 2030 bull case of $294.12, while a memory downturn would pull them lower.

Rambus (NASDAQ:RMBS | RMBS Price Prediction) makes the memory interface chips and silicon IP that keep AI servers supplied with data. The 24/7 Wall St. price target for Rambus is $132.68. That means 26.17% upside from the last close of $105.16.

Metric Value Current Price $105.16 Price Target from 24/7 Wall St. $132.68 Upside/Downside 26.17% Recommendation BUY Confidence Level 90% On Monday the shares fell 4.78% to $100.13. At that price, the upside to our target grows to about 32.5%. The model rates the stock a buy with high confidence. It rests on record product revenue and a business mix that benefits from every new AI server rack.

Record Revenue and a 14% Weekly Rebound Put Rambus Back in Play Over the past week, Rambus gained 14.3%. It is up 11.22% over the past month and 8.97% year to date. The one-year return is still -0.63%. In mid-June the stock traded at $143.29, and today it stands about 42.5% below its 52-week high of $174.1.

Fiscal Q2 revenue rose 20.43% to $207.38 million, ahead of the $198.30 million estimate. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.77 exceeded the $0.715 expected. Product revenue hit a record $99.15 million. Management also reported “an exciting design win with a Tier 1 US hyperscaler for next-generation HBM in future AI chips.”

Why Bulls See $178 on the Horizon The bull case depends on growing chip content per server. Rambus launched DDR5 9600 chipsets and expects MRDIMM to become “a material opportunity”, with significant sales starting in 2027. Revenue from PCIe 7 switch IP is expected in the coming quarters, and management sees silicon IP growing 10% to 15% a year.

Rambus is one of the picks-and-shovels names that benefits every time a hyperscaler adds a rack (we profiled seven of these AI infrastructure suppliers, from power to memory interfaces, in a free report you can grab here). Of the analysts covering the stock, 7 rate it a buy and 2 rate it a hold. Our bull scenario reaches $178.44.

Supply Tightness and Rising Costs Could Cap the Rally Inventory rose to $74.8 million from $44.1 million, and operating cash flow fell 35.14%. Management says the inventory is strategic stock for ramps planned in Q3, Q4 and early next year.

In Q1, R&D rose to $50.23 million and pressured the non-GAAP operating margin to 42%, although that spending funds the roadmap. Management expects supply constraints to last into 2027. Our bear case of $113.91 still stands above today’s price.

Rambus Sits Between Micron’s Bargain Multiple and Marvell’s Premium The direct read on memory demand is Micron (NASDAQ:MU), because its DDR5 and HBM volumes drive Rambus royalties. It trades at 7 times forward earnings after fiscal Q3 revenue jumped 345.72%. That low multiple reflects cyclical peak earnings, while Rambus’s licensing model is steadier.

Marvell (NASDAQ:MRVL) competes for the same hyperscaler custom silicon spending. It trades at 62 times forward earnings, with data center making up 79% of revenue.

Company Forward P/E Latest Quarter Revenue Growth Rambus 30 20.43% Micron 7 345.72% Marvell 62 36.55% At about half of Marvell’s multiple, Rambus looks reasonably priced, and the peer group suggests our target is reasonable.

Rambus Price Prediction 2026-2030 The 24/7 Wall St. price target of $132.68 accounts for a buy rating at 90% confidence. Record product revenue coupled with growing IP design wins tips the scale.

I’d turn more constructive if Q3 product revenue lands within the $110 million to $116 million guidance. I’d turn wary should supply limits push MRDIMM ramps past 2027. In my view, the risk-reward favors patient holders.

Year Price Target from 24/7 Wall St. 2026 $111.13 2027 $137.62 2028 $158.56 2029 $174.55 2030 $189.69 The projections assume Rambus keeps executing on its DDR5 and IP roadmap. A faster HBM licensing ramp could raises them, and a sharp downturn in the DRAM cycle could push them lower.

Rambus sits inside nearly every next-generation server memory module yet trades at a fraction of its flashier chip rivals, and its roadmap through 2027 could force the market to finally pay attention.

Memory interface specialist Rambus (NASDAQ:RMBS | RMBS Price Prediction) flies under the radar versus the marquee AI names, yet its silicon sits inside almost every next-generation server memory module. With DDR5 ramping, HBM4E in design at hyperscalers, and PCIe 7 IP licensing kicking in, the setup for the next 12 months looks compelling.

Our 24/7 Wall St. price target for Rambus is $117.71, roughly 20.3% above where shares trade today. We rate the stock a buy with high confidence.

24/7 Wall St. Price Target Summary Metric Value Current Price $97.82 24/7 Wall St. Price Target $117.71 Implied Upside 20.3% Recommendation BUY Confidence 90% Rambus is compounding product revenue at a 20%+ clip while layering in high-margin licensing wins that will not fully show up in the P&L until 2027.

A Sharp Rebound After a Rough Summer RMBS rose 11.67% in Monday’s session and is up 12.48% over the past week, though still down 8.9% over the last year and well below its 52-week high of $174.10.

The bounce follows strong Q2 FY2026 results. Revenue hit $207.38 million, up 20.4% year over year, beating consensus by 4.58%. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.77 topped estimates by 7.69%. CEO Luc Seraphin noted Rambus is “well positioned to capitalize on the strong secular trends driven by the rapid expansion of AI inference and agentic workloads.”

Why Bulls See a Breakout Above $150 The bull case rests on three legs. Product revenue hit a record $99.15 million in Q2, up 22% YoY, with Q3 guidance of $110M to $116M. Rambus disclosed a design win with a Tier 1 U.S. hyperscaler for next-generation HBM, structured as a licensing deal recognizing revenue before end products ship. Management expects Silicon IP to grow 10% to 15% annually.

The Street’s mean target of $147.86, backed by 7 Buy and 2 Hold ratings, implies a bull scenario near $175 if MRDIMM and PCIe 7 licensing ramp on schedule in 2027.

What Could Go Wrong Inventory jumped to $74.8 million from $44.1 million at year-end 2025, and operating cash flow fell 35.14%. Forward P/E of 24 looks full for a memory-cycle-exposed business.

However, management said it is “building strategic inventory” for Q3, Q4, and early 2027 ramps. Bear scenario: $103.43.

How Rambus Compares to Marvell, Synopsys, and Lattice Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) trades at a forward P/E of 58 with 36.5% YoY revenue growth. Rambus’s 24 forward P/E looks cheap by comparison.

Synopsys (NASDAQ:SNPS) overlaps the silicon IP business at a forward P/E of 22 on 42.4% revenue growth, validating our target.

Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ:LSCC) trades at a richer forward P/E of 35, suggesting the market rewards specialized chip franchises with an AI angle.

Company Forward P/E Rev Growth YoY Rambus 24 20.4% Marvell 58 36.5% Synopsys 22 42.4% Lattice 35 62.2% Rambus Setup and Verdict The 24/7 Wall St. price target of $117.71 with 90% confidence is a buy. The bull path holds if MRDIMM adoption ramps into 2027 and the hyperscaler HBM design win seeds broader licensing revenue.

The setup weakens if DRAM tightness cuts product shipments or inventory unwinds without demand pull. The valuation is undemanding and the roadmap is loaded.

Year 24/7 Wall St. Price Target 2026 $117.71 2027 $118.23 2028 $139.72 2029 $166.44 2030 $185.09 These projections assume Rambus continues executing on DDR5, HBM4E, and PCIe 7 licensing. Significant upside or downside could result from hyperscaler custom-silicon share shifts or a memory market downturn.

Rambus fits the pattern of specialized chip franchises that compound quietly before the market notices, the same setup we cataloged in a free playbook on spotting the next big semiconductor winner early: here.

Rambus (RMBS - Free Report) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.77 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.71 per share. This compares to earnings of $0.6 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of +8.45%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this memory chip designer would post earnings of $0.61 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.63, delivering a surprise of +3.28%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

Rambus, which belongs to the Zacks Electronics - Semiconductors industry, posted revenues of $207.39 million for the quarter ended June 2026, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 4.27%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $170 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

Rambus shares have added about 4.5% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 8.3%.

What's Next for Rambus? While Rambus has underperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?

There are no easy answers to this key question, but one reliable measure that can help investors address this is the company's earnings outlook. Not only does this include current consensus earnings expectations for the coming quarter(s), but also how these expectations have changed lately.

Empirical research shows a strong correlation between near-term stock movements and trends in earnings estimate revisions. Investors can track such revisions by themselves or rely on a tried-and-tested rating tool like the Zacks Rank, which has an impressive track record of harnessing the power of earnings estimate revisions.

Ahead of this earnings release, the estimate revisions trend for Rambus was mixed. While the magnitude and direction of estimate revisions could change following the company's just-released earnings report, the current status translates into a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for the stock. So, the shares are expected to perform in line with the market in the near future. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

It will be interesting to see how estimates for the coming quarters and the current fiscal year change in the days ahead. The current consensus EPS estimate is $0.77 on $211.6 million in revenues for the coming quarter and $2.95 on $817.3 million in revenues for the current fiscal year.

Investors should be mindful of the fact that the outlook for the industry can have a material impact on the performance of the stock as well. In terms of the Zacks Industry Rank, Electronics - Semiconductors is currently in the top 26% of the 250 plus Zacks industries. Our research shows that the top 50% of the Zacks-ranked industries outperform the bottom 50% by a factor of more than 2 to 1.

One other stock from the same industry, SkyWater Technology, Inc. (SKYT - Free Report) , is yet to report results for the quarter ended June 2026.

This company is expected to post quarterly loss of $0.07 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +36.4%. The consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has remained unchanged over the last 30 days.

SkyWater Technology, Inc.'s revenues are expected to be $148 million, up 150.6% from the year-ago quarter.
