UiPath Slides 24% After Q2 Earnings: Is PATH Stock a Buy?
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways UiPath shares fell 24% despite Q2 revenues beating expectations and full-year guidance being raised.PATH's ARR rose 12.5% year over year, while AI featured in 18 of the quarter's 20 largest deals.UiPath posted a fourth straight GAAP-profitable quarter and ended Q2 with $1.405 billion in cash. UiPath’s (PATH - Free Report) latest results merit another look after the market has had time to digest them. Shares have fallen 24% since the Sept. 3 release, even though second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenues exceeded expectations and management lifted its annual targets.

The reaction appears less about the reported quarter than the outlook’s magnitude and composition: the fiscal third-quarter revenue midpoint sits below the consensus mark, while the modest ARR-guidance increase leaves investors waiting for clearer AI-driven acceleration. That reset, however, creates a more interesting entry point, provided execution continues.

PATH’s YoY Revenue Growth Beats ExpectationsFiscal second-quarter revenues rose 13.4% year over year to $410.3 million, beating the $397.8 million consensus mark by 3.1%. Revenues nevertheless have declined 1.9% sequentially from $418.4 million. License revenues increased 10.4% year over year to $123.8 million but fell 17.1% from the fiscal first quarter.

Subscription-services revenues advanced 11.6% year over year and 5.2% sequentially to $266.1 million, improving the recurring-revenue mix. Professional services and other revenues surged 81.6% year over year and 25.8% quarter over quarter to $20.3 million, although they remained a small contributor.

PATH’s Margin Expansion Confirms Better Operating DisciplineGAAP gross profit increased 10.9% year over year but declined 3.5% sequentially to $329.7 million. The corresponding gross margin was 80%, down two percentage points both year over year and sequentially. Non-GAAP gross margin similarly contracted to 82% from 84% a year ago and 83% in the prior quarter.

Lower operating expenses offset that pressure. GAAP operating income reached $31.6 million, reversing a $20.2 million loss a year earlier and rising 12.9% sequentially. Operating margin improved to 8% from negative 6% and 7% in the prior year and prior quarter, respectively. This marked UiPath’s fourth consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability.

Non-GAAP operating income climbed 42.9% year over year to $89 million, though it slipped 3.7% sequentially. Its 22% margin expanded five percentage points year over year and held steady quarter over quarter. Adjusted earnings were 15 cents per share, unchanged both year over year and sequentially.

ARR Gains Support the AI Thesis, but Acceleration Is Still NeededARR reached $1.938 billion, up 12.5% year over year and 1.9% sequentially. Net new ARR was $37 million, 19.4% above the prior-year quarter but 24.5% below the first quarter’s $49 million. Dollar-based net retention was 109%, improving one percentage point year over year and remaining flat sequentially. Gross retention held at 97%, with attrition concentrated among smaller customers.

AI appeared in 18 of the quarter’s 20 largest deals, suggesting it is becoming central to enterprise purchases. UiPath’s proposition combines probabilistic AI with rules-based automation, while model neutrality and integrations with major coding assistants broaden its relevance. Larger outcome-oriented contracts could lift deal sizes, but evolving transaction-based pricing makes near-term monetization less predictable.

Raised Guidance Is Positive, Yet the Upside Looks MeasuredFiscal third-quarter revenue guidance of $440-$445 million has a $442.5 million midpoint, lower than the $444.3 million Zacks Consensus Estimate. ARR is projected at $1.992-$1.997 billion, implying 2.9% sequential growth at the midpoint, while non-GAAP operating income of roughly $100 million suggests a margin near 22.6%.

Full-year revenue guidance increased to $1.789-$1.794 billion from $1.776-$1.781 billion, representing a 0.7% midpoint raise and higher than the current Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.78 billion. The ARR range moved up just 0.3% at the midpoint to $2.065-$2.070 billion, while non-GAAP operating-income guidance rose 3.5% to $445 million. Adjusted free cash flow is expected to approximate $425 million. The sharper profit revision is encouraging, but the restrained ARR increase helps explain why the market focused on competitive AI risk rather than the headline beat.

ServiceNow and Salesforce Set a Demanding Competitive BarServiceNow (NOW - Free Report) and Salesforce (CRM - Free Report) provide useful benchmarks for UiPath’s AI-automation opportunity. ServiceNow embeds AI agents and workflow orchestration across its enterprise platform, giving it a large installed-base advantage and substantial cross-selling reach. Salesforce similarly connects autonomous agents with customer data, applications and workflows through Agentforce, making it a formidable competitor for enterprise automation budgets.

Yet UiPath retains differentiation in deterministic robotic automation, model neutrality and governance across mixed human, software and agent processes. ServiceNow may appeal to customers standardizing IT workflows, while Salesforce is strongest around customer-facing processes. UiPath’s opportunity lies in serving as the controlled execution layer across both domains, especially for complex, regulated operations over the coming investment cycle.

Cash Generation Moderated, but the Balance Sheet Remains StrongOperating cash flow fell 26.2% year over year and 76.7% sequentially to $30.7 million. Adjusted free cash flow was about $31 million, down 31.1% year over year and 76.2% sequentially, reflecting quarterly timing following a strong first quarter.

UiPath still ended the period with $1.405 billion in cash and investments, down only 1.1% sequentially, and no debt. It also repurchased 2.4 million shares at an average price of $9.63, providing modest support while preserving substantial financial flexibility.

Verdict: The Selloff Makes PATH a BuyThe post-earnings decline has created an attractive entry point for investors willing to tolerate volatility. UiPath is pairing durable recurring-revenue growth with stronger retention, disciplined spending and sustained profitability, while its debt-free balance sheet provides room to keep investing. The market’s concern that general-purpose AI tools could erode traditional automation demand is legitimate, and near-term growth remains measured. However, enterprises still require accuracy, governance and orchestration when automated decisions reach core operations. UiPath’s model-neutral platform is designed for precisely that need. With execution improving and expectations reset after the selloff, the risk-reward balance supports a Buy for patient investors today.

PATH stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

UiPath and Pegasystems Sink 7% as Price Target Hikes Arrive Without a Single Buy Rating
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Wall Street just raised price targets on UiPath across the board after a strong earnings beat, yet not a single analyst upgraded the stock. Here is why four simultaneous target hikes are actually a bearish signal for automation software investors.

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

The enterprise AI automation cohort is selling off Tuesday as Wall Street’s response to UiPath‘s (NYSE:PATH | PATH Price Prediction) fiscal second-quarter report crystallizes into a chorus of higher price targets paired with non-buy ratings. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (CBOE:IGV) is down 2% on the session, and the automation names inside it are pacing the decline. Analysts think UiPath stock is worth more than it was a week ago, but their ratings remain firmly on the sidelines.

UiPath stock is down 7% to $14.11 in Tuesday afternoon trading, extending a selloff that has undone a 40% August rally into earnings. Pegasystems (NASDAQ:PEGA) shares are down 7% to $34.86 without a fresh company-specific catalyst, seemingly moving in sympathy with the group.

Meanwhile, C3.ai (NYSE:AI) stock is down 1% to $10.35, holding up notably better than its peers. That relative resilience complicates any read that the entire agentic AI software group is being marked down as one block, because C3.ai’s own turnaround narrative from last week’s earnings call gives it a different setup from UiPath’s growth-quality debate.

Four Target Hikes, Zero Buy Ratings UiPath’s fiscal Q2 2027 revenue of $410.26 million topped estimates, and annual recurring revenue reached $1.938 billion, up 12% year over year. The company also swung to $32 million in GAAP operating income from a prior-year loss, marking its fourth consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability. That combination was enough for four Wall Street firms to lift price targets while leaving all of them parked on the sidelines.

Koji Ikeda at Bank of America raised his PATH stock price target to $15 while keeping an Underperform rating, arguing the quarter did little to answer whether AI will meaningfully accelerate ARR growth. Truist lifted its target to $17 with a Hold on more agentic AI deals and modest customer growth improvement, and TD Cowen went to $16 with a Hold, citing steady performance and stable retention. DA Davidson also nudged its target higher while keeping a Neutral rating, rounding out a group that collectively signaled the recent rally had gotten ahead of the fundamentals.

Pegasystems Caught in the Same Downdraft Pegasystems carries its own overhang from its Q2 2026 report, when total annual contract value (ACV) growth slowed to 7% year over year and CEO Alan Trefler flagged AI-driven client hesitation that management warned could persist through year-end. Pega Cloud remained a bright spot, with Pega Cloud ACV up 22% to $926.29 million, though the topline miss and elongated sales cycles left Pegasystems stock exposed to any negative read across the automation software peer group.

With no obvious news of its own today, the 7% PEGA stock drop looks like guilt by association with UiPath rather than a stand-alone Pegasystems catalyst. Pegasystems stock’s 41% year-to-date decline shows how much repair work is already priced in, which arguably raises the bar for meaningful further downside on sector sympathy alone.

What to Watch Next The next scheduled test for UiPath is its investor day in Las Vegas on September 22, followed by its Fusion user conference running through September 25. That’s the venue where management can put a sharper number on how AI attach rates translate into ARR acceleration, which is the specific bar every analyst note pointed to on Tuesday.

The bull case rests on AI-attached deals meaningfully widening deal scope and stickiness, and UiPath said 18 of its top 20 deals in the quarter included AI. The bear case is that four target hikes with no rating changes is Wall Street’s polite way of saying the fundamentals haven’t yet earned a rerating, particularly with UiPath stock having rallied hard into the report.

Shareholders can watch for a lifted ARR outlook at UiPath’s investor day, or another quarter of the growth question being deferred. Position sizing on both UiPath and Pegasystems should stay modest given the recent volatility, and investors holding either name should keep their exposure trimmed to survive a stretch of range-bound trading if the automation-software rotation drags on.

UiPath, Inc. (PATH) is Attracting Investor Attention: Here is What You Should Know
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
UiPath (PATH - Free Report) has recently been on Zacks.com's list of the most searched stocks. Therefore, you might want to consider some of the key factors that could influence the stock's performance in the near future.

Shares of this enterprise automation software developer have returned +0.9% over the past month versus the Zacks S&P 500 composite's -0.1% change. The Zacks Internet - Software industry, to which UiPath belongs, has gained 4.2% over this period. Now the key question is: Where could the stock be headed in the near term?

Although media reports or rumors about a significant change in a company's business prospects usually cause its stock to trend and lead to an immediate price change, there are always certain fundamental factors that ultimately drive the buy-and-hold decision.

Revisions to Earnings EstimatesHere at Zacks, we prioritize appraising the change in the projection of a company's future earnings over anything else. That's because we believe the present value of its future stream of earnings is what determines the fair value for its stock.

We essentially look at how sell-side analysts covering the stock are revising their earnings estimates to reflect the impact of the latest business trends. And if earnings estimates go up for a company, the fair value for its stock goes up. A higher fair value than the current market price drives investors' interest in buying the stock, leading to its price moving higher. This is why empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.

UiPath is expected to post earnings of $0.19 per share for the current quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +18.8%. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged.

The consensus earnings estimate of $0.8 for the current fiscal year indicates a year-over-year change of +11.1%. This estimate has remained unchanged over the last 30 days.

For the next fiscal year, the consensus earnings estimate of $0.9 indicates a change of +12.9% from what UiPath is expected to report a year ago. Over the past month, the estimate has changed +0.2%.

With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool -- the Zacks Rank -- is a more conclusive indicator of a stock's near-term price performance, as it effectively harnesses the power of earnings estimate revisions. The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) for UiPath.

The chart below shows the evolution of the company's forward 12-month consensus EPS estimate:

12 Month EPS

Revenue Growth ForecastWhile earnings growth is arguably the most superior indicator of a company's financial health, nothing happens as such if a business isn't able to grow its revenues. After all, it's nearly impossible for a company to increase its earnings for an extended period without increasing its revenues. So, it's important to know a company's potential revenue growth.

In the case of UiPath, the consensus sales estimate of $444.34 million for the current quarter points to a year-over-year change of +8.1%. The $1.78 billion and $1.92 billion estimates for the current and next fiscal years indicate changes of +10.4% and +8.2%, respectively.

Last Reported Results and Surprise HistoryUiPath reported revenues of $410.26 million in the last reported quarter, representing a year-over-year change of +13.4%. EPS of $0.15 for the same period compares with $0.15 a year ago.

Compared to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $397.59 million, the reported revenues represent a surprise of +3.19%. The EPS surprise was 0%.

Over the last four quarters, UiPath surpassed consensus EPS estimates two times. The company topped consensus revenue estimates each time over this period.

ValuationWithout considering a stock's valuation, no investment decision can be efficient. In predicting a stock's future price performance, it's crucial to determine whether its current price correctly reflects the intrinsic value of the underlying business and the company's growth prospects.

While comparing the current values of a company's valuation multiples, such as price-to-earnings (P/E), price-to-sales (P/S), and price-to-cash flow (P/CF), with its own historical values helps determine whether its stock is fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued, comparing the company relative to its peers on these parameters gives a good sense of the reasonability of the stock's price.

The Zacks Value Style Score (part of the Zacks Style Scores system), which pays close attention to both traditional and unconventional valuation metrics to grade stocks from A to F (an A is better than a B; a B is better than a C; and so on), is pretty helpful in identifying whether a stock is overvalued, rightly valued, or temporarily undervalued.

UiPath is graded D on this front, indicating that it is trading at a premium to its peers. Click here to see the values of some of the valuation metrics that have driven this grade.

ConclusionThe facts discussed here and much other information on Zacks.com might help determine whether or not it's worthwhile paying attention to the market buzz about UiPath. However, its Zacks Rank #2 does suggest that it may outperform the broader market in the near term.

UiPath Just Sank 17%. Is the Stock a Buy on the Dip?
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Shares of UiPath (PATH -16.63%) sank despite the company reporting solid fiscal second-quarter results and raising its full-year guidance. The stock is now down on the year, as of this writing.

UiPath began as a robotic process automation (RPA) company that lets customers use software bots to perform repetitive, rule-based tasks; however, it has been in the middle of transforming itself in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). Its goal now is to be an orchestration platform that can combine AI with deterministic automation.

Let's dig into the company's quarterly results and prospects to see if this dip is a buying opportunity.

Moving in the right direction UiPath said its platform that can orchestrate both AI agents and bots was beginning to resonate with customers as it can give them better returns on their investments and that its strong roots in governance and reliability were a competitive advantage. It also believes that being AI model agnostic is an important differentiator. Its AI momentum could be seen in the quarter with 18 of its 20 largest deals including an AI component.

The company has been working to strengthen its go-to-market strategy and said increased deal sizes and expanded customer engagement were evidence this was starting to pay off. However, it noted that customer education was still important, as it looks to bestow the benefits of how combining AI with deterministic automation can help enterprises. The company is also considering offering outcome-based pricing models to increase customer value and adoption. Finally, it continues to add prebuilt vertical and outcome-oriented solutions to help drive growth and be a gateway for its entire solution.

For its fiscal Q2, revenue rose 13% year over year to $410 million, cruising past guidance for revenue of between $395 to $400 million. Its annualized recurring revenue (ARR) rose by 12% year over year to $1.94 billion. Meanwhile, it added $37 million in new ARR in the quarter, up 19% year over year. UiPath's ARR is made up of its annualized invoiced amounts from subscription licenses and maintenance and support obligations, while it excludes invoiced amounts related to perpetual licenses or professional services. The metric is similar to bookings.

Dollar-based net retention came in at 109%, showing that the company is seeing solid growth within its existing customer base. It also had 97% gross retention.

UIPath ended the quarter with 10,350 customers, which was down from 10,550 at the end of Q1 as it continues to see attrition among smaller customers. Customers with $30,000 or more in ARR increased by 6% year over year, and customers with $100,000 or more in ARR increased 10%. Meanwhile, customers with $1 million or more in ARR jumped 21% to 387.

Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) was steady at $0.15. The company generated $31 million in operating cash flow and free cash flow. It ended the quarter with $1.41 billion in cash and marketable securities and no debt.

Looking ahead, UIPath forecast Q3 revenue in the range of $440 million to $445 million, representing growth of 8% at the midpoint. It guided for ARR between $1.992 billion and $1.997 billion.

For the full year, it raised its revenue guidance to a range of $1.789 billion to $1.794 billion from an earlier outlook of $1.776 billion to $1.781 billion. It now expects ARR of $2.065 billion to $2.070 billion versus between $2.058 billion and $2.063 billion previously.

Can the stock rebound? UiPath continues to have a nice opportunity in front of it, and it appears to be seeing some green shoots from its efforts. However, for the stock to work, it does really need to see growth start to accelerate.

The stock remains relatively cheap, trading at a forward price-to-sales ratio of 4.4 times for a high gross margin, recurring business model. Take out its $1.4 billion in cash and marketable securities, and the stock trades at an enterprise-value -to-forward-sales ratio of just around 3.5.

Given its valuation, I think UiPath remains an interesting, speculative AI stock to own.

UiPath Q2 Earnings Call Highlights
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
UiPath (NYSE:PATH) reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 results that exceeded its guidance, with annualized recurring revenue, revenue and profitability all rising as the company emphasized demand for its automation, orchestration and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Dines said ARR reached $1.938 billion, up 12% year over year, while revenue rose 13% to $410 million. The company generated $37 million in net new ARR during the quarter and posted non-GAAP operating income of $89 million, representing a 22% margin. UiPath also recorded its fourth consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability, with GAAP operating income of $32 million compared with a GAAP operating loss of $20 million a year earlier.

“We delivered another strong quarter with continued execution,” Dines said, pointing to improved go-to-market performance, operational discipline and product innovation. AI, Deterministic Automation Drive Platform Positioning Management said customers are increasingly using UiPath’s platform to manage complex business processes that incorporate AI agents, software robots, application programming interfaces and human decision-making. Dines described the company’s approach as combining AI for tasks where reasoning adds value with deterministic, or rules-based, automation where enterprises require consistent execution and lower costs.

According to Dines, 18 of UiPath’s top 20 deals during the quarter included AI. He said AI-related platform adoption is contributing to larger expansions and helping customers consolidate automation and AI workloads onto UiPath’s platform.

The company cited several customer deployments, including an expansion with a global insurance provider that is using UiPath IXP, Maestro agents and robots to modernize beneficiary claims processing. UiPath also said the Department of Defense expanded its partnership to support audit and reconciliation work, adding Autopilot, intelligent document processing and test automation capabilities.

A leading financial institution selected UiPath as a platform for end-to-end process orchestration after determining that Maestro could coordinate homegrown applications while meeting governance and compliance requirements, management said.

Dines said customers are seeking platforms that can “build, orchestrate, test, and govern the entire process,” rather than relying on separate point solutions. The company also highlighted a top Canadian bank as one of its largest new customer wins, saying the bank selected UiPath for agentic workflows involving third-party demands processes.

Coding Agents and Vertical Solutions UiPath said it is seeing early productivity gains from coding agents used alongside its forward-deployed engineers. Dines said initial results indicate coding agents have reduced effort by nearly 60%, though he characterized the work as still being in a proving stage.

During the question-and-answer session, Dines said the focus is less on changing the number of forward-deployed engineers and more on reducing customers’ time to value. He added that the technology could also benefit implementation partners and customers that use partner-delivered services.

The company also announced a developer-oriented workflow automation tool in public preview. The offering is designed to allow developers to use coding agents such as Raw Code, Codex, Cursor and GitHub Copilot to orchestrate processes and automate manual tasks through APIs and agents, while maintaining enterprise governance.

UiPath said it is pairing its horizontal automation platform with more vertical, outcome-oriented offerings. During the quarter, a Fortune Global 500 manufacturer selected its Office of the CFO invoice solution for accounts-payable operations covering roughly 700,000 invoices annually. UiPath said the proof of concept delivered 96% document-processing accuracy and a 50% reduction in invoice-handling time and support.

In healthcare, a U.S. health system selected UiPath’s denials resolution offering for medical-claim denials. Management said the customer expects the solution to automate appeals across inpatient and outpatient operations and pursue claims that had previously fallen below the threshold for manual review.

Dines also cited traction in revenue-cycle management, financial-crimes and compliance offerings, accounts-payable automation and loan origination. UiPath said its WorkFusion integration is progressing according to plan and is building customer pipeline in financial services.

Margins, Retention and Balance Sheet Chief Operating Officer Ashim Gupta said revenue growth was 16% after normalizing for an approximately $8 million year-over-year foreign-exchange headwind. ARR received a $1 million year-over-year FX tailwind.

Cloud ARR, including hybrid and software-as-a-service deployments, exceeded $1.3 billion and increased more than 19%. UiPath ended the quarter with about 10,350 customers. Customers with more than $30,000 in ARR increased 6%, while customers with at least $100,000 in ARR rose 10% to 2,666. The number of customers generating $1 million or more in ARR increased 21% to 387.

Dollar-based gross retention was 97%. Dollar-based net retention was 109%, up two points year to date; it was 108% after adjusting for FX. Remaining performance obligations rose 14% to $1.378 billion, or 16% excluding FX effects. Overall gross margin was 82%, while software gross margin was 90%. Non-GAAP adjusted free cash flow was $31 million, compared with $45 million a year earlier, primarily due to the timing of tax-related payments. UiPath ended the quarter with $1.4 billion in cash equivalents and marketable securities and no debt. Stock-based compensation expense declined 42% to $45 million and represented 11% of revenue, down more than 1,000 basis points from the prior-year period. The company repurchased 2.4 million shares at an average price of $9.63 during the quarter.

Leadership Transition and Outlook UiPath announced that Gupta will focus exclusively on his role as COO, while Hitesh Ramani succeeds him as CFO. Ramani joined UiPath in 2021 as chief accounting officer and had served as deputy CFO for the previous two years. Dines said the transition was planned and expected to provide continuity across the finance organization.

For the third fiscal quarter, UiPath forecast revenue of $440 million to $445 million, ARR of $1.992 billion to $1.997 billion and non-GAAP operating income of about $100 million. The revenue outlook includes an expected $10 million year-over-year FX headwind, while ARR guidance includes a $4 million FX headwind.

For fiscal 2027, the company expects revenue of $1.789 billion to $1.794 billion, ARR of $2.065 billion to $2.070 billion and non-GAAP operating income of approximately $445 million. UiPath reaffirmed expectations for about $425 million in non-GAAP adjusted free cash flow and an approximately 84% non-GAAP gross margin for the full year.

Management said it plans to provide additional detail on its longer-term strategy and product roadmap at its Investor Day on Sept. 22, followed by its FUSION user conference in Las Vegas from Sept. 23 through Sept. 25.

Why UiPath Rallied in August
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Shares of enterprise automation software company UiPath (PATH -16.63%) rallied 46.3% in August, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.

UiPath didn't provide any specific financial news last month, as it just reported fiscal second-quarter earnings on Thursday.

However, there were a few bullish data points for the enterprise software space during August, as Wall Street analysts grew more optimistic on the sector following the first half's "SaaS-pocalypse." Earnings results from UiPath's peers also indicated resilience amid the disruption concerns that dominated the first half. With a very cheap valuation heading into August, UiPath had a strong month.

The software sector bounces back big in August In August, the software sector received some encouragement from the analyst community after a terrible first half. In the first half of 2026, the enterprise software space was hit by fears of disruption, as Anthropic's Claude code and other agentic software offerings raised concerns that companies might be able to "vibe code" their own software rather than purchasing from others.

However, as the second-quarter earnings season commenced, software companies began reporting resilient growth numbers. In the middle of the month, sell-side analysts at RBC Capital raised their price targets on several software stocks, including UiPath. The analysts wrote that their "recent checks and on-quarter results from our AI, cyber, infra, and data coverage leave us more optimistic as we head into the 2H with upside to consensus estimates now appearing more likely."

Off of much lower valuations, notes like these led to sectorwide rallies. Then, later in the month, a large-cap blue chip enterprise software giant, Salesforce (CRM -1.97%), reported stronger-than-expected earnings on Aug. 26. That spurred a big rally across the whole sector toward the end of the month as well.

A pullback on earnings UiPath's stock had therefore run up significantly heading into its Sept. 3 earnings report, after which it pulled back by about 16.6% on Friday. Of note, the earnings report was solid, with revenue up 13.3% to $410.2 million, ahead of expectations, and current-quarter revenue guidance also exceeded expectations.

That being said, UiPath's adjusted (non-GAAP) earnings per share were flat from the prior year at $0.15 and only in line with analyst expectations. So, perhaps that imperfection in the report contributed to the pullback.

After the post-earnings dip, UiPath trades at just around four times the current annualized recurring revenue (ARR). However, UiPath also has about $1.3 billion in cash on its balance sheet and no debt. That puts UiPath's enterprise value-to-ARR ratio at just around 3.4.

That's still not expensive for a software stock growing in the double digits. In fact, it appears downright cheap. Therefore, it appears that fears over AI disruption still linger for UiPath, even after its impressive August run. It's a software name for value investors to look into, as long as UiPath continues to adapt to the AI age.

Why UiPath Stock Plunged Today
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Shares of UiPath (PATH -16.63%) fell on Friday after the automation specialist's quarterly results failed to assuage investors' fears regarding the threats posed by formidable new rivals.

Orchestrating AI UiPath's revenue rose 13% year over year to $410 million in its fiscal 2027 second quarter, which ended on July 31. Its adjusted operating income, in turn, surged 43% to $89 million.

The business orchestration leader is helping its customers use artificial intelligence (AI) when it serves them best and other forms of automation when lower-cost options are better suited for the task.

During a conference call with analysts, CEO Daniel Dines said UiPath employs a simple strategy to accomplish these goals.

"Use AI where intelligence creates value and deterministic automation where exactness matters," Dines said. "That gives customers the benefits of AI without paying for AI reasoning at every step, and ultimately, better economics and better ROI [return on investment] at scale."

Risks remain However, some analysts are concerned that AI-powered rivals could wrest business away from UiPath.

Canaccord Genuity analyst Kingsley Crane, for one, pointed to software giant Salesforce's recently announced partnership with leading AI model developer Anthropic as a potential threat.

"The competitive landscape is intensifying quickly, perhaps faster than reported numbers are capable of showing," Crane said.

Crane, in turn, downgraded UiPath's stock from buy to hold.

Still, Dines remains undaunted.

"AI is expanding what enterprises can automate, while increasing the need for the orchestration, governance, and exactness that deterministic automation provides," Dines said. "Our ability to bring AI agents, robots, systems, and people together to execute end-to-end business processes positions UiPath at the center of this opportunity."

UiPath Tumbles 14% as Guided Slowdown Overshadows Revenue Beat
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
UiPath stock is cratering despite beating Wall Street's revenue target, and the reason sitting inside the forward guidance explains why investors who rode a 29% rally into earnings are now racing for the exit.

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

UiPath (NYSE:PATH | PATH Price Prediction) stock is sinking in Friday morning trading after fiscal second-quarter results delivered a headline beat but the forward guide implied a sharp deceleration. The reaction stands out on a session where large-cap tech is holding firm.

The Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) is up 0.5% to $721.08, keeping the NASDAQ 100 comfortably green. Meanwhile, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) is down 0.1% to $772.31. UiPath stock is down 14% to $15.69, unwinding a chunk of the rally that had UiPath shares up 29% over the past month through Thursday’s close.

Momentum had been squarely on UiPath’s side heading into the release, which set an elevated bar for the guide. Cutting the growth rate nearly in half for the coming quarter after a headline beat is precisely the setup that produces a re-rating morning like this one.

Guidance Overshadows a Clean Beat UiPath reported Q2 CY2026 revenue of $410.3 million against a $397.9 million consensus, up 13.4% year over year, with adjusted earnings of $0.15 per share in line with estimates. Adjusted operating income landed at $89.03 million against a $75.22 million consensus, a wide beat that showcases the margin discipline management has emphasized all year. The company also lifted its full-year revenue guidance to $1.79 billion at the midpoint from $1.78 billion.

The problem sits in the coming quarter. UiPath guided Q3 revenue to about $442.5 million, implying 7.6% year-over-year growth, roughly half the pace just delivered. The pipeline picture is less clean, with UiPath billings of $375.5 million up 24.8% year over year on a slight miss to consensus, hinting the funnel isn’t refilling at the tempo bulls priced in during the run into the report.

Pegasystems Is the Read on Sector or Company Pegasystems (NASDAQ:PEGA) is the closest listed comparison in enterprise workflow automation, and its July results flagged the same demand-hesitation theme when clients delayed purchasing decisions amid AI-market uncertainty. That backdrop colors whether UiPath’s soft Q3 outlook reflects a broader sector slowdown or a company-specific stumble in a business that had been re-earning its shine.

Friday’s setup points to the latter. Large-cap tech is higher on the session and the broad benchmark is nearly flat, so the punishment landing squarely on UiPath stock reads more like a company-specific reaction than a sector re-rating. Pegasystems management previously noted that delayed deals hadn’t disappeared from its pipeline, which cuts against the idea that enterprise automation demand has cratered wholesale.

The counterweight is that UiPath’s own commentary echoes some of the same themes Pegasystems raised, including customers pausing to evaluate build-versus-buy trade-offs on AI. If enterprises are freezing decisions across the automation space, the read-through for peers could firm up as more results roll in over the fall.

Leadership Reshuffle Reinforces the Trajectory Read UiPath promoted Hitesh Ramani to Chief Financial Officer, kept Ashim Gupta as Chief Operating Officer, named Brad Brubaker Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, and appointed Yazdi Bagli to the board. Founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Dines stated the changes “position us to operate with even greater speed and accountability.”

Separating the finance and operations roles reads as an organization built for execution rather than expansion, which fits the softer growth trajectory embedded in the guide. It also hands Ramani ownership of the next several quarters, where credibility with investors on billings pacing and annual recurring revenue (ARR) trajectory will need to be rebuilt.

What to Watch Next The next scheduled catalyst is UiPath’s investor day and annual user conference in Las Vegas, where management plans to detail its longer-term strategy and product roadmap. Any refreshed color on billings momentum, agentic pricing, or enterprise-automation demand could reset the narrative in either direction.

Investors considering UiPath stock at these levels can keep their position sizes modest until the Q3 report confirms whether the guide reflects conservatism or a genuine step-down in enterprise demand. Moreover, traders can watch for signs that Pegasystems is finding its footing on its own commentary, since that read on automation appetite may shape the next share-price move for UiPath shares as well.

PATH Q2 Earnings Call Centers on AI-Led Platform Expansion
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways UiPath says 18 of its top 20 Q2 deals included AI, with AI-attached transactions larger and more strategic.Net retention rose to 109% from 106% as broader products, execution and consumption supported expansion.UiPath guided full-year revenues to $1.789-$1.794 billion and ARR to $2.065-$2.070 billion. UiPath, Inc. (PATH - Free Report) used its fiscal second-quarter 2027 call to argue that its next growth phase will come from combining AI agents with deterministic automation, orchestration and governance across complex enterprise workflows.

Management paired that positioning with stronger net-new ARR, rising retention and broader platform adoption, while keeping its outlook prudent as it works to convert AI interest into larger, durable customer expansions.

PATH Puts AI at the Center of Larger DealsFounder, CEO and Executive Chairman Daniel Dines said 18 of UiPath’s top 20 deals in the quarter included AI, with AI-attached transactions tending to be larger and more strategic.

CEO Daniel Dines emphasized that customers are not choosing between AI and automation. He said the platform is designed to use AI for reasoning and deterministic automation where exactness, reliability and cost matter most.

CEO Daniel Dines also highlighted customer consolidation onto UiPath, including financial-services deployments spanning orchestration, testing, compliance and human-in-the-loop controls.

UiPath Positions Orchestration as the Control LayerCEO Daniel Dines said UiPath remains model-agnostic, allowing customers to combine external AI models with governed workflows rather than tie process control to one ecosystem.

A Barclays analyst asked how better frontier models could affect UiPath’s role. CEO Daniel Dines responded that enterprises still need their own operating framework, process knowledge and automation rails around AI.

A BMO Capital Markets analyst pressed on whether demand begins with governance or orchestration. CEO Daniel Dines said customers are focused first on outcomes, including faster processes, fewer errors and protection of enterprise intellectual property.

PATH Expands Through Vertical and Testing Use CasesCEO Daniel Dines said use-case selling is becoming a larger go-to-market focus across revenue-cycle management, financial crimes, the office of the CFO and loan origination.

CEO Daniel Dines cited an accounts-payable deployment covering roughly 700,000 invoices annually, where a proof of concept achieved 96% document-processing accuracy.

CEO Daniel Dines also pointed to testing as an expansion area, including a broader Cognizant partnership, while early coding-agent work reduced implementation effort by nearly 60% in initial results.

UiPath Keeps a Prudent Fiscal 2027 OutlookCFO Hitesh Ramani guided for third-quarter revenues of $440 million to $445 million, ARR of $1.992 billion to $1.997 billion and non-GAAP operating income of about $100 million.

CFO Hitesh Ramani set full-year revenues at $1.789 billion to $1.794 billion, ARR at $2.065 billion to $2.070 billion and non-GAAP operating income at about $445 million. Full-year adjusted free cash flow remains about $425 million.

For context, PATH posted non-GAAP EPS of $0.15, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate, while revenues of $410.3 million exceeded the $397.6 million Zacks Consensus Estimate. ARR rose 12% to $1.938 billion, and non-GAAP operating margin reached 22%.

PATH Q&A Focuses on Retention, Pricing and ExecutionA Needham analyst asked whether net retention could move above 110%. COO Ashim Gupta said the rate had improved to 109% from 106% at fiscal year-end, supported by broader products, better execution and consumption focus.

An RBC Capital Markets analyst asked about agentic pricing. CEO Daniel Dines said UiPath is testing different models, has introduced transaction-based pricing and is considering outcome-based pricing that would include token costs.

COO Ashim Gupta said sales execution is improving through stronger field leadership, reduced bureaucracy, tighter product-sales-marketing coordination and selective incentives for new products.

CEO Daniel Dines said the leadership changes are intended to sharpen focus: Ashim Gupta is concentrating exclusively on COO responsibilities, while Hitesh Ramani succeeds him as CFO.

UiPath Keeps Execution at the CenterCEO Daniel Dines framed the next phase around scaling platform adoption, extending UiPath further into business functions and translating product innovation into durable growth.

COO Ashim Gupta said his operating priorities include account segmentation, adoption and utilization, partner coordination and faster delivery as customer implementations become larger and more complex.

PATH Zacks Rank and Style ScoresPATH carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). CEO Daniel Dines’ disposal of over 1.4 million shares dwarfed every other filing. Chief Accounting Officer Hitesh Ramani added back-to-back sales in the mid-$16s. dispositions from Gupta, Malpani, and Legal Chief Brad Brubaker at $10.87 appear tied to vesting. The only acquisitions were , reflecting equity awards rather than open-market conviction. Dashboard data confirms net insider direction is .

With shares up in a month, executives leaned into strength rather than adding exposure ahead of tonight’s earnings report, a caution flag against the setup.

UiPath is expected to report fiscal Q2 2027 earnings at 4:10 PM ET, with Wall Street looking for evidence that its agentic AI push is translating into stronger recurring revenue growth.

Management has guided for revenue of $395-$400 million and ARR between roughly $1.929-$1.934 billion. Investors will also be watching net new ARR, with a figure above roughly $49 million providing another signal that growth is accelerating.

The stakes are high after UiPath shares soared around 40% over the past month. A higher full-year ARR outlook could validate the rally and strengthen the case that UiPath is evolving from a traditional automation vendor into a broader enterprise AI orchestration platform.

A guidance cut would tell a very different story and could put much of the stock’s recent rally at risk.

Full CoverageThe story so far

UiPath (NYSE:PATH | PATH Price Prediction) is expected to report Q2 FY2027 results after the bell at 4:10 PM ET. Shares enter the report tonight at about $18.52, up around 65.05% over the past year on rising evidence that agentic AI is moving from pilot to production.

Momentum Meets a Higher Bar Q1 FY27 delivered revenue of $418.38M, up 17.3% YoY, beating consensus by 5.26%, while adjusted EPS of $0.15 came in 5.48% shy of estimates. ARR grew 12% YoY to $1.901B on $49M of net new ARR, and dollar-based net retention ticked up to 109% from 107%.

Non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 22% from 20%, and stock-based compensation dropped to $53.3M from $76.4M. Management raised the FY27 non-GAAP operating income target to ~$430M and repurchased $243.8M of Class A stock. With PATH up over 40% in the past month, the setup rewards execution and punishes any ARR softness.

Consensus Estimates Metric Q2 FY27 Estimate YoY Change FY2027 Estimate FY2028 Estimate Revenue $397.85M +14.5% $1.778B $1.928B EPS (Normalized) $0.1474 +76.7% $0.7828 $0.9066 FY27 revenue growth is modeled near 10.4%, a step down from FY26’s 12.65%. FY28 revenue growth of 8.4% pairs with EPS growth of 15.8%, consistent with continued margin leverage. The Q2 EPS consensus has held flat at $0.1474 across the last 60 days, with 10 upward revisions in the past week.

What I’m Watching Tonight: ARR, Margins, and Agentic AI Tonight, I’ll be watching the ARR results against the $1.929B-$1.934B guide. Net new ARR needs to hold or exceed $49M to keep the stabilization-to-reacceleration thesis intact. On revenue mix, 16 of the top 20 Q1 deals included AI, and AI-inclusive expansions ran six times larger than those without. It would be great to see that continue to expand.

Analysts will also focus on dollar-based net retention. It moved 108% to 107% to 107% to 109% across the last four quarters. A result above 109% validates the reacceleration narrative CEO Daniel Dines flagged on the last call.

Non-GAAP operating margin was 22% in Q1 and 31% in Q4 FY26. Guidance implies compression this quarter, so investors will focus on whether spend on coding agents, Test Cloud, and forward-deployed engineering is moving progress toward the 30% long-term target.

Also on the list: traction for UiPath for Coding Agents, the Deloitte Agentic ERP alliance, and Maestro Case orchestration momentum. Guidance credibility is the tiebreaker after Q4 FY26’s cautious FY27 outlook sent shares -8.16% the next day.

Earnings History Quarter EPS Surprise 1-Day Move 7-Day Move 30-Day Move Q1 FY27 -5.48% +1.21% +0.78% -6.13% Q4 FY26 +17.74% -8.16% +0.57% -18.26% Q3 FY26 +9.59% +24.36% +25.77% +16.62% Q2 FY26 +79.86% +5.90% +7.74% +33.82% On average, shares moved 8.88% seven days after earnings over the past year.

UiPath Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2027 Financial Results
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UiPath, Inc. (NYSE: PATH), a leader in business orchestration and automation, today announced financial results for its second quarter fiscal 2027 ended July 31, 2026.

"I am pleased with our second quarter results, demonstrating disciplined execution and the growing momentum across our platform,” said Daniel Dines, UiPath Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "AI is expanding what enterprises can automate, while increasing the need for the orchestration, governance, and exactness that deterministic automation provides. Our ability to bring AI agents, robots, systems, and people together to execute end-to-end business processes positions UiPath at the center of this opportunity. We have spent the past two years transforming our platform and strengthening our execution, and I am excited about the opportunity ahead.”

Second Quarter Fiscal 2027 Financial Highlights

Revenue of $410 million increased 13 percent year-over-year. ARR of $1.938 billion as of July 31, 2026 increased 12 percent year-over-year. Net new ARR of $37 million. Dollar based net retention rate of 109 percent. GAAP gross margin was 80 percent. Non-GAAP gross margin was 82 percent. GAAP operating income was $32 million. Non-GAAP operating income was $89 million. Net cash flow from operations was $31 million. Non-GAAP adjusted free cash flow was $31 million. Cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities were $1.405 billion as of July 31, 2026. “We delivered another strong quarter, exceeding guidance across all key financial metrics,” said Ashim Gupta, UiPath Chief Operating Officer. “Our results reflect the operating discipline we’ve instilled across the business, and the momentum we’re seeing from customers and partners around our platform gives us confidence as we head into the second half of the year.”

Leadership and Board of Directors Changes

As UiPath enters its next phase of growth, the Company is sharpening leadership focus and accountability across its executive team. Ashim Gupta will focus exclusively on his role as Chief Operating Officer, concentrating his leadership on driving execution across sales, demand generation, and delivery. Hitesh Ramani has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer, building on his role as Deputy CFO and Chief Accounting Officer since 2021. Brad Brubaker has been named Chief Legal & Administrative Officer, expanding his oversight to include the People organization. Together, these changes sharpen accountability across finance, operations, and legal, positioning UiPath's leadership team for this next chapter of growth.

In addition, UiPath appointed Yazdi Bagli, Executive Vice President, IT and Enterprise Business Services at Kaiser Permanente (currently on a leave of absence while pursuing a fellowship at Harvard University), to its Board of Directors, bringing deep technology, enterprise transformation, and operational leadership experience to the Board.

“UiPath has the opportunity to help define business orchestration and automation by fundamentally transforming how work gets done,” said Hitesh Ramani, UiPath Chief Financial Officer. “Having partnered with Ashim, our leadership team, and our employees since 2021, I am excited to turn that opportunity into sustainable growth and long term value creation, through disciplined execution.”

Financial Outlook

For the third quarter fiscal 2027, UiPath expects:

Revenue in the range of $440 million to $445 million ARR in the range of $1.992 billion to $1.997 billion as of October 31, 2026 Non-GAAP operating income of approximately $100 million For the full year fiscal 2027, UiPath expects:

Revenue in the range of $1.789 billion to $1.794 billion ARR in the range of $2.065 billion to $2.070 billion as of January 31, 2027 Non-GAAP operating income of approximately $445 million. Reconciliation of non-GAAP operating income guidance to the most directly comparable GAAP measure is not available without unreasonable efforts on a forward-looking basis due to the high variability, complexity, and low visibility with respect to the charges excluded from this non-GAAP measure; in particular, the effects of stock-based compensation expense specific to equity compensation awards that are directly impacted by unpredictable fluctuations in our stock price. We expect the variability of the above charges to have a significant, and potentially unpredictable, impact on our future GAAP financial results.

Except as required by law, we assume no obligation to update these forward-looking statements.

Key Performance Metric

Annualized Renewal Run-rate (ARR) is the key performance metric we use in managing our business because it illustrates our ability to acquire new subscription customers and to maintain and expand our relationships with existing subscription customers. We define ARR as annualized invoiced amounts per solution SKU from subscription licenses and maintenance and support obligations assuming no increases or reductions in customers’ subscriptions. ARR does not include the costs we may incur to obtain such subscription licenses or provide such maintenance and support. ARR also does not reflect nonrecurring rebates payable to partners (upon establishing sufficient history of their nonrecurring nature), the impact of nonrecurring incentives (such as one-time discounts provided under sales promotional programs), and any actual or anticipated reductions in invoiced value due to contract non-renewals or service cancellations other than for certain reserves (for example those for credit losses or disputed amounts). ARR does not include invoiced amounts associated with perpetual licenses or professional services. ARR is not a forecast of future revenue, which is impacted by contract start and end dates and duration. ARR should be viewed independently of revenue and deferred revenue as ARR is an operating metric and is not intended to replace these items.

Dollar-based net retention rate represents the rate of net expansion of our ARR from existing customers over the preceding 12 months. We calculate dollar-based net retention rate as of a period end by starting with ARR from the cohort of all customers as of 12 months prior to such period end (Prior Period ARR). We then calculate the ARR from these same customers as of the current period end (Current Period ARR). Current Period ARR includes any expansion and is net of any contraction or attrition over the preceding 12 months but does not include ARR from new customers in the current period. We then divide total Current Period ARR by total Prior Period ARR to arrive at dollar-based net retention rate. Dollar-based net retention rate may fluctuate based on the customers that qualify to be included in the cohort used for calculation and may not reflect our actual performance.

Investors should not place undue reliance on ARR or dollar-based net retention rate as an indicator of future or expected results. Our presentation of these metrics may differ from similarly titled metrics presented by other companies and therefore comparability may be limited.

Non-GAAP Financial Measures

Non-GAAP financial measures are financial measures that are derived from the condensed consolidated financial statements, but that are not presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (GAAP). This earnings press release includes financial measures defined as non-GAAP financial measures by the SEC, including non-GAAP cost of licenses, non-GAAP cost of subscription services, non-GAAP cost of professional services and other, non-GAAP gross profit and margin, non-GAAP sales and marketing expenses, non-GAAP research and development expenses, non-GAAP general and administrative expenses, non-GAAP operating income and margin, and non-GAAP net income and non-GAAP net income per share. These non-GAAP financial measures exclude:

stock-based compensation expense; amortization of acquired intangibles; employer payroll tax expense related to employee equity transactions; restructuring costs; charitable donation of Class A common stock; change in fair value of contingent consideration; and in the case of non-GAAP net income, estimated tax adjustments associated with the add-back items, as applicable. Additionally, this earnings release presents non-GAAP adjusted free cash flow, which is calculated by adjusting GAAP operating cash flows for the impact of purchases of property and equipment, cash paid for employer payroll taxes related to employee equity transactions, net payments/receipts of employee tax withholdings on stock option exercises, and cash paid for restructuring costs.

UiPath uses these non-GAAP financial measures internally in analyzing its financial results and believes they are useful to investors by excluding the effects of items that do not reflect the ordinary earnings of our operations, and as a supplement to GAAP measures. UiPath believes that the use of these non-GAAP financial measures provides an additional tool for investors to use in evaluating ongoing operating results and trends and in comparing its financial results with other companies in UiPath’s industry, many of which present similar non-GAAP financial measures to investors. Investors should consider these non-GAAP financial measures in addition to, and not as a substitute for, our financial performance measures prepared in accordance with GAAP. Further, our non-GAAP information may be different from the non-GAAP information provided by other companies. The information below provides a reconciliation of non-GAAP financial measures used in this earnings press release to the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures. We encourage investors to consider our GAAP results alongside our supplemental non-GAAP measures, and to review the reconciliation between GAAP results and non-GAAP measures that is included at the end of this earnings press release. This earnings press release and any future releases containing such non-GAAP reconciliations can also be found on the Investor Relations page of UiPath’s website at https://ir.uipath.com.

UiPath (PATH - Free Report) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.15 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate . This compares to earnings of $0.15 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this enterprise automation software developer would post earnings of $0.15 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.15, delivering no surprise.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates two times.

UiPath, which belongs to the Zacks Internet - Software industry, posted revenues of $410.26 million for the quarter ended July 2026, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 3.19%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $361.73 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates four times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

UiPath shares have added about 9.8% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 12%.

What's Next for UiPath? While UiPath has underperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?

There are no easy answers to this key question, but one reliable measure that can help investors address this is the company's earnings outlook. Not only does this include current consensus earnings expectations for the coming quarter(s), but also how these expectations have changed lately.

Empirical research shows a strong correlation between near-term stock movements and trends in earnings estimate revisions. Investors can track such revisions by themselves or rely on a tried-and-tested rating tool like the Zacks Rank, which has an impressive track record of harnessing the power of earnings estimate revisions.

Ahead of this earnings release, the estimate revisions trend for UiPath was mixed. Dell Technologies vs. UiPath: Which Technology Stock Is a Better Buy in 2026?
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Investors seeking exposure to the next phase of digital evolution often choose between infrastructure giants and software innovators. Choosing between Dell Technologies (DELL -3.39%) and UiPath Inc (PATH -0.98%) requires a close look at their current fundamentals.

Dell provides the physical backbone of the modern data center, while UiPath focuses on the software automation that makes enterprises more efficient. This comparison examines their financial health and growth prospects to help you decide.

The case for Dell TechnologiesDell operates as a global leader in digital infrastructure, providing PCs, servers, storage, and networking tools to approximately 97% of the Fortune 500. The company operates in a fast-moving landscape of tech stocks where hardware remains the essential foundation. Its primary AI solution buyers are a small number of large customers and cloud service providers, and customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business.

In FY 2026, revenue reached nearly $113.5 billion, representing a growth of approximately 19% compared to the previous year. This performance was supported by a net income of more than $5.9 billion, yielding a net margin of more than 5%. This net margin, which represents the percentage of revenue remaining as profit after all expenses, improved from the 4.8% recorded in the prior fiscal year.

As of its January 2026 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is approximately -12.8x, indicating that total liabilities exceed shareholders' equity. The so-called current ratio, which measures a company's ability to cover short-term debts with short-term assets, is roughly 0.9x. Dell generated nearly $8.6 billion in free cash flow, a metric representing the actual cash a company produces after accounting for capital expenditures.

The case for UiPathUiPath specializes in AI-powered automation software designed to streamline complex business processes for government agencies and large corporations. The company derives a significant portion of its revenue from its top 10% of customers, which suggests its growth is heavily tied to its largest enterprise relationships. To stay competitive, it recently acquired technology firms like Peak and WorkFusion to enhance its capabilities in the agentic automation market.

In FY 2026, revenue reached approximately $1.6 billion, indicating a year-over-year growth of roughly 12.7%. The company achieved net income of close to $282.3 million during this period, resulting in a net margin of nearly 17.5%. This is a significant shift compared to the net loss reported in FY 2025, showing a transition toward consistent profitability as the business scales.

As of its January 2026 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is 0.0x, meaning the company carries no significant debt relative to its equity. Its current ratio is approximately 2.5x, reflecting a strong ability to meet short-term financial obligations. Free cash flow for the year was nearly $352.2 million, but note that stock-based compensation (SBC) represented roughly 78.3% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since SBC is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement.

Risk profile comparisonDell faces aggressive competition in hardware and AI-related services from rivals offering lower-cost alternatives. The company relies on limited-source vendors primarily located in Asia, which creates vulnerability to supply chain shortages or delivery delays. Furthermore, Dell is a target for sophisticated cyber-attacks and faces legal risks regarding evolving AI regulations while managing nearly $31.5 billion in total indebtedness.

UiPath deals with high revenue concentration, where the loss of a few large enterprise customers could materially impact its financial results. It competes against established platform vendors like Microsoft Corp (MSFT +1.68%) and Amazon.com Inc (AMZN +3.97%) that may offer more cost-effective automation technologies. Additionally, with roughly 54% of its revenue generated internationally, the company faces risks from foreign currency fluctuations and complex global data privacy laws.

Valuation comparisonWhile Dell offers massive scale and infrastructure dominance, UiPath provides a high-margin software model that has recently reached a key profitability milestone.

MetricDell TechnologiesUiPathForward P/E23.6x20.8xP/S ratio2.2x5.4xValuation metrics sourced from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) and may differ from other data providers.

UiPath's AI automation solutions are working well for the company. First-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue beat expectations, with Wall Street seeing sales tick more than 10% higher to $1.78 billion for the full year. Net income is expected to tick lower but free cash is seen moving higher this fiscal year.
Its vendor-agnostic platform is seen as supporting efforts to unify multiple platforms within a business, while its consumption-based pricing model bodes well for scaling sales faster in the future. Newly acquired clients include the retailer Tire Rack, the retailer Shop Rite, and a global semiconductor company whose management hasn't been publicly named.

Despite its already massive size, Dell's sales are seen rising by some 50% to about $171 billion in its current fiscal year, 2027, with more than $11 billion in both net income and free cash flow. While Dell still sells the laptops that originated the business (and which are suffering from higher memory prices), the story is all about AI. The business is selling AI-optimized servers hand over fist, with management expecting more than $60 billion in AI server sales in FY 2027, almost triple the prior year. It's riding the AI data center wave.

It's hard to argue that Dell's scale and profitability mean UiPath should be the choice. While Dell's debt is a concern, its top-line growth is too hard to ignore.

Why UiPath Stock Was Winning This Week
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Although UiPath (PATH -0.98%) didn't report any market-shaking news of its own these past few days, the enterprise software company was swept up in a rally by its peer group. As of late Friday evening, according to data compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence, its stock was riding nearly 12% higher week to date.

Back in favor Enterprise software has been a volatile segment of the tech sector so far this year. It wasn't very long ago that investors shunned companies in it, on fears that artificial intelligence (AI) would be disruptive enough to threaten their business models.

Increasingly, though, it seems the better of these companies will do just fine, thank you very much. After market close on Wednesday, flagship enterprise software developer Salesforce posted blowout second-quarter results, featuring a double-digit revenue increase and a soaring net income line that crushed the consensus analyst estimate.

This was due less to the company's legacy business than its strategic investments. Crucially, this included a stake in leading AI developer Anthropic (the company behind the popular Claude model). It's not a passive investor; Salesforce also announced the launch of Claudeforce, which, as the name implies, places the company's data and workflows within Claude's chatbot.

This demonstrates, in no uncertain terms, that enterprise software companies are embracing opportunities with AI, rather than battening down the hatches and hoping the storm passes.

The path to success? If anything, UiPath has embraced AI more fervently than Salesforce. In fact, it has realigned its products around the next-generation technology, which now infuses its entire product stack. It's looking more like AI will boost the company's fortunes rather than threaten them. I wouldn't be surprised to see this stock add to its gains in the coming days.

PLTR vs. PATH: Which AI-Driven Software Stock is the Better Buy?
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Palantir's AI momentum, government strength and commercial adoption support its long-term growth outlook.UiPath is moving agentic AI from pilots to production while expanding orchestration with Maestro Case.Palantir's 2026 sales and EPS are estimated to grow 82% and 113%, outpacing UiPath's expected growth. Palantir Technologies Inc. (PLTR - Free Report) and UiPath Inc. (PATH - Free Report) are prominent players in the rapidly expanding market for artificial intelligence-powered software.

Palantir is widely recognized for its sophisticated data analytics and decision-intelligence platforms. Its solutions serve government agencies, defense organizations and large enterprises that need to integrate complex data and make informed decisions in real time. UiPath, meanwhile, is a leader in robotic process automation (RPA), using artificial intelligence to automate repetitive processes and enhance operational productivity across industries.

While Palantir helps organizations make advanced, data-backed decisions, UiPath focuses on streamlining and automating workflows. These distinct capabilities make both companies important participants in the broader AI ecosystem.

PLTR: AI Adoption, Modular Sales ModelPalantir’s growth prospects are closely connected to its broad artificial intelligence strategy. The company combines its proprietary Foundry and Gotham platforms with its Artificial Intelligence Platform to help organizations analyze enormous volumes of data and generate actionable insights in real time.

These solutions are especially useful in industries where fast decision-making and the integration of complicated data sets are critical. Organizations operating in defense, intelligence, healthcare and financial services use Palantir’s software to improve operational efficiency and strengthen strategic decision-making.

Government contracts continue to represent a major source of strength for Palantir. The company has been adapting its AI capabilities to meet changing U.S. defense requirements. Major programs, such as the Department of Defense’s Open DAGIR initiative, demonstrate Palantir’s ability to modernize military operations through AI-enabled data interoperability and real-time decision-support tools. These projects further establish the company as an important technology provider for national security operations.

Within the commercial market, Palantir is promoting wider AI adoption through its AIP boot camps. These programs offer prospective customers practical training and live demonstrations of the company’s technology. Numerous organizations have participated, allowing Palantir to demonstrate how its platforms can support logistics, manufacturing and supply-chain activities. The boot camps have also become an effective channel for attracting new customers.

Growing demand for Palantir’s AI offerings and continued expansion of its customer base have supported robust financial results. From 2021 through 2025, the company delivered a compound annual revenue growth rate of 24.2%, reflecting the increasing use of its advanced data analytics platforms.

Palantir’s modular sales model provides another meaningful growth catalyst. Rather than requiring customers to purchase the complete platform immediately, the company allows them to begin with individual modules.

This flexibility reduces the initial barrier to adoption and gives organizations an opportunity to test Palantir’s capabilities before expanding their deployments. When paired with usage-based pricing, the approach allows customers to increase spending gradually as their requirements become more extensive.

Consequently, Palantir has considerably expanded its U.S. commercial customer base and converted many initial pilot programs into lasting enterprise relationships.

PATH: Agentic AI, Maestro CaseOne of the most encouraging developments for UiPath is the growing adoption of its agentic AI platform. Roughly a year after making its agentic products generally available, the company is seeing customers progress from pilot programs to full-scale production deployments.

This transition is significant because production deployments indicate that customers are beginning to derive measurable value from the technology and incorporate AI capabilities into mission-critical workflows, rather than merely experimenting with them.

UiPath’s role also extends beyond supplying individual AI agents. Its platform functions as an orchestration layer that coordinates workflows, automates execution and integrates AI-generated outputs directly into enterprise operations. As organizations deploy more AI agents, the need to manage and govern increasingly complex workflows could make this orchestration capability more valuable.

The recent introduction of UiPath for Coding Agents further strengthens the company’s AI strategy. By helping customers accelerate deployments and shorten time to value, the offering could encourage broader adoption of UiPath’s platform across enterprise accounts.

UiPath recently broadened its automation portfolio with the launch of Maestro Case, a capability designed to manage complex, long-running workflows involving multiple participants, business systems and AI agents.

Many organizations still depend on fragmented combinations of emails, spreadsheets and disconnected applications to handle customer requests, approvals and investigations. Maestro Case seeks to address these inefficiencies by treating each business case as a dynamic workflow that combines automation with human judgment and oversight.

UiPath continues to demonstrate solid enterprise adoption, particularly among its largest customers.

The number of customers generating more than $100,000 in annual recurring revenue increased to 2,624 from 2,365 over the past year, reflecting broader platform adoption and continued expansion within existing enterprise accounts.

More notably, customers contributing more than $1 million in ARR rose to 374 from 316. These large accounts typically represent deeper platform deployments, stronger retention and greater opportunities for long-term expansion.

How Do Zacks Estimates Compare for PLTR & PATH?The Zacks Consensus Estimate for PLTR’s 2026 sales and EPS indicates year-over-year growth of 82% and 113%, respectively. EPS estimates have been trending upward over the past 60 days.

UiPath’s Valuation More Attractive Than PLTRUiPath is trading at a forward sales multiple of 4.57X, above its 12-month median of 3.68X. Palantir’s forward sales multiple stands at 41.74X, below its median of 46.86X.

Verdict: PLTR Deserves Your BetWhile both companies remain important players in the expanding AI software landscape, Palantir appears better positioned for long-term upside. Its deep integration within government and defense ecosystems, rapidly expanding commercial adoption, and growing demand for AI-driven decision platforms continue strengthening its competitive moat. The company’s modular sales strategy and increasing enterprise penetration also provide multiple avenues for sustained growth. Although valuation remains elevated, Palantir’s accelerating AI momentum, improving profitability profile and stronger estimate revisions support a more favorable outlook. Meanwhile, UiPath is expected to witness moderate revenue and earnings momentum. Is UiPath's Expanding ARR Strengthening Its Long-Term Growth Story?
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways PATH's ARR grew steadily from $1.46 billion in Q4 fiscal 2024 to $1.9 billion by Q1 fiscal 2027.UiPath is benefiting from deeper enterprise adoption of AI orchestration and workflow automation.PATH trades at 18.44X forward earnings, substantially below the industry average of 27.33X. UiPath (PATH - Free Report) continues to reinforce its long-term investment case through consistent annualized recurring revenue (ARR) growth. The sustained expansion underscores the resilience of its enterprise automation business and growing demand for AI-powered workflow orchestration.

PATH’s ARR increased steadily from $1.46 billion in fourth-quarter fiscal 2024 to $1.9 billion by first-quarter fiscal 2027. This progress demonstrates continued demand for UiPath’s automation platform despite cautious enterprise software spending and uncertainty surrounding the pace of AI monetization.

The sustained ARR growth indicates that customers are making longer-term commitments to UiPath rather than pulling back on automation investments. It also provides greater revenue visibility and strengthens the company’s foundation for durable growth.

Deeper Enterprise Adoption Supports UiPath’s ARRUiPath’s ARR momentum reflects its success in expanding relationships with existing customers. Enterprises are deploying the company’s AI orchestration, cloud and workflow automation capabilities across a broader range of business functions, allowing PATH to generate more recurring revenues from its installed base instead of depending primarily on new customer additions.

The company’s platform can help enterprises coordinate AI agents, employees and automated processes within unified workflows. As businesses move from isolated AI experiments toward broader operational deployments, UiPath could benefit from rising demand for platforms that securely integrate AI into mission-critical processes.

This expanding use of automation enhances customer retention, creates cross-selling opportunities and may increase the strategic importance of UiPath’s platform within large organizations.

PATH’s Recurring Revenues Provide StabilityThe durability of PATH’s ARR growth is particularly noteworthy in an enterprise software market characterized by restrained IT spending and greater investor scrutiny of AI-related investments. Although near-term revenue growth could remain measured, the expanding recurring revenue base provides UiPath with a more stable foundation as enterprise AI adoption evolves.

PATH’s valuation adds another dimension to the investment case. The stock trades at a forward P/E ratio of 18.59X, substantially below the industry average of 27.33X. This discount could offer upside if UiPath sustains ARR growth, deepens enterprise adoption and converts its AI opportunity into stronger revenues and earnings.

However, the lower multiple also reflects investor concerns surrounding competitive pressure, execution and the pace of revenue acceleration. UiPath will need to demonstrate that its expanding ARR base can translate into durable top-line growth and improved profitability.

Relevant Industry PeersPegasystems (PEGA - Free Report) remains an important competitor in enterprise workflow automation and AI-powered business process management. Like UiPath, Pegasystems is expanding its AI capabilities, although its platform places greater emphasis on customer engagement, CRM and decision intelligence. PEGA’s established position among large enterprises makes it a relevant benchmark for evaluating PATH’s progress in process automation.

ServiceNow (NOW - Free Report) is also benefiting from rising enterprise demand for workflow automation and AI integration. Although ServiceNow’s core strength lies in enterprise service management, the company continues to expand into intelligent workflow orchestration and AI-enabled automation. NOW’s scale, broad product portfolio and extensive enterprise relationships make it one of UiPath’s most formidable competitors.

UiPath’s steady ARR expansion reinforces the durability of its recurring-revenue model and suggests that enterprise demand for automation remains intact. The discounted valuation strengthens the long-term opportunity, but sustained execution will be essential as PATH competes with Pegasystems and ServiceNow for a larger share of enterprise AI and workflow spending.

PATH’s Price Performance, EstimatesThe stock has declined 3% year to date compared to the industry’s 5% loss.

Today, UiPath is a profitable company with revenue growing at double-digit rates year over year. Moreover, while it might have traded at nosebleed valuations five years ago, today, it trades at just 26 times earnings, slightly below the S&P 500 average P/E ratio of 30.

Amid these conditions, UiPath looks more like a buy than a sell, making any massive insider sales less likely.

UiPath Introduces UiPath Maestro Flow, Delivering Developer-First Orchestration for Coding Agents
PATH UiPath
FMP Stock News
Original source text
New orchestration capability lets builders use any coding agent to build, run, and govern complete business processes—no rewrite required to ship

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UiPath, Inc. (NYSE: PATH), a global leader in business orchestration and automation, today announced UiPath Maestro™ Flow, a developer-first orchestration canvas combining the speed of modern, AI-native development with enterprise-grade durability and governance. Using Maestro Flow, builders can use supported coding agents to design, run, observe, and govern an end-to-end process as a single artifact, from prototype to production.

With the popularity of coding agents, enterprise builders can build AI agents quickly, but struggle to implement and run them as real business processes across systems. Without a critical layer of orchestration, process logic becomes fragmented, difficult to govern, and costly to maintain—prototypes cannot ship, work stalls while waiting on review, automations are not tracked, and the cost of experimentation itself becomes a brake on progress.

Maestro Flow closes that gap. Builders can use the coding agents they already rely on—including Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Codex—to design, run, observe, and govern complete business processes as a single artifact, all from their native development environment, such as VS Code or UiPath Studio. It is a fast, code-first build experience directly on an enterprise-grade orchestration engine, so the version prototyped is the version that ships into production, without rebuilding or re-platforming.

Maestro Flow enables teams to build at prototype speed and run with production durability. Teams keep the code-first workflow they already use, while enterprises gain the execution, observability, and governance needed for production. Coordinating AI agents, robots, APIs, documents, and people within one flow, Maestro Flow runs on the same Maestro orchestration engine enterprises already trust.

“Enterprises don't have an agent problem; they have an orchestration problem,” said Raghu Malpani, Chief Product and Technology Officer, UiPath. “With coding agents, it’s never been easier to build an agent. But running a real business process, spanning agents, robots, systems, and people—and being able to prove what happened at every step—needs an orchestration layer that ties these together in a real business environment. Maestro Flow is that missing layer, and it runs on the durable, governed orchestration foundation in the UiPath Platform that our customers already trust.”

Developers can get started today with UiPath Maestro Flow by clicking the “Try Now” button at www.uipath.com/product/maestro/flow. For those developers interested in trying out UiPath Maestro, UiPath is offering UiPath Maestro Lite, a lightweight option for processes that do not require extensive management, matching operational depth with the cost and criticality of the work.

Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors, and Zacks Premium offers many different ways to do both.

Featuring daily updates of the Zacks Rank and Zacks Industry Rank, full access to the Zacks #1 Rank List, Equity Research reports, and Premium stock screens, the research service can help you become a smarter, more self-assured investor.

Zacks Premium also includes the Zacks Style Scores.

What are the Zacks Style Scores? Developed alongside the Zacks Rank, the Zacks Style Scores are a group of complementary indicators that help investors pick stocks with the best chances of beating the market over the next 30 days.

Each stock is assigned a rating of A, B, C, D, or F based on their value, growth, and momentum characteristics. Just like in school, an A is better than a B, a B is better than a C, and so on -- that means the better the score, the better chance the stock will outperform.

The Style Scores are broken down into four categories:

Value ScoreValue investors love finding good stocks at good prices, especially before the broader market catches on to a stock's true value. Utilizing ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, Price/Cash Flow, and many other multiples, the Value Style Score identifies the most attractive and most discounted stocks.

Growth ScoreGrowth investors, on the other hand, are more concerned with a company's financial strength and health, and its future outlook. The Growth Style Score examines things like projected and historic earnings, sales, and cash flow to find stocks that will experience sustainable growth over time.

Momentum ScoreMomentum traders and investors live by the saying "the trend is your friend." This investing style is all about taking advantage of upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook. Employing factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates, the Momentum Style Score can indicate favorable times to build a position in high-momentum stocks.

VGM ScoreIf you want a combination of all three Style Scores, then the VGM Score will be your friend. It rates each stock on their combined weighted styles, helping you find the companies with the most attractive value, best growth forecast, and most promising momentum. It's also one of the best indicators to use with the Zacks Rank.

How Style Scores Work with the Zacks Rank The Zacks Rank, which is a proprietary stock-rating model, employs earnings estimate revisions, or changes to a company's earnings expectations, to make building a winning portfolio easier.

It's highly successful, with #1 (Strong Buy) stocks producing an unmatched +23.94% average annual return since 1988. That's more than double the S&P 500. But because of the large number of stocks we rate, there are over 200 companies with a Strong Buy rank, plus another 600 with a #2 (Buy) rank, on any given day.

But it can feel overwhelming to pick the right stocks for you and your investing goals with over 800 top-rated stocks to choose from.

That's where the Style Scores come in.

To maximize your returns, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. This means picking stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you find yourself looking at stocks with a #3 (Hold) rank, make sure they have Scores of A or B as well to ensure as much upside potential as possible.

Since the Scores were created to work together with the Zacks Rank, the direction of a stock's earnings estimate revisions should be a key factor when choosing which stocks to buy.

For instance, a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one that boasts Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings forecast, and a much greater likelihood its share price will decline as well.

Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.
