Welcome to NexGen Energy's Investor Day. Everything you see in the video, the data centers, the cities, the factories, the AI needs power. We all agree the cleanest, densest most reliable form of that power runs on Uranium. To provide some context as to how much power Uranium generates, this tiny Uranium fuel pellet, well, just 3 of those can power a typical North American household for over an entire year. That's the equivalent to approximately 8.1 tons of coal and forgoing over 16.5 tons of carbon emissions. That's it. That's all it takes. Demand for Uranium is rising sharply, and it's accelerating from here.

Today, there is approximately 400 gigawatts of nuclear generating capacity globally, supplying just under 10% of the world's total electricity. As we speak, more than 88 gigawatts of new nuclear capacity is under construction, representing approximately 20% growth by 2032, and that's just the beginning. As of 2026, 38 countries pledged to triple global nuclear capacity by 2050. That would increase global nuclear generating capacity from approximately 400 gigawatts today to over 1,200 gigawatts over the next 25 years. That's a 3x from where we are today. Unprecedented heavy demand is underway for this key energy fuel.

Thus far, the

Highlights:

Vertical extent of high-grade subdomain increased by 94 m to 644 m with RK-26-293 intersecting cumulative 4.7 m of >10,000 cps, including 0.1 m of >61,000 cps at 930 m depth.

Down plunge test hole, RK-26-290c1, intersected multiple stacked uranium veins across 40 m of the high-grade subdomain intersecting cumulative 19.5 m of >10,000 cps including 12.9 m of >10,000 cps that surrounds 5.2 m of >61,000 cps.

Internal continuity strong throughout highlighted by RK-26-294 intersecting cumulative 6.9 m of >10,000 cps including 3.1 m of >61,000 cps located 27 m up dip of RK-24-222 (17.0 m at 3.85% U3O8).

Holes RK-26-290c1 and RK-26-294 represent the two best holes for 2026 to date, and rank as the best and third best holes, based on cumulative >61,000 cps, intersected at PCE since discovery.

Additionally, the up dip high-grade subdomain expanded by 50 m in RK-26-296 that returned cumulative 3.5 m of >10,000 cps including 0.4 m of >61,000 cps.

NexGen adding a fifth drill rig to continue to advance PCE optimally.

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - August 25, 2026) - NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX: NXE) (NYSE: NXE) (ASX: NXG) ("NexGen" or the "Company") announces results from the early portion of 2026 summer drilling at PCE which expanded the high-grade subdomain both up and down dip while continuing to demonstrate strong internal continuity of intense high-grade mineralization (Figures 1 and 2, Table 1).

High-grade uranium mineralization now extends to 930 m with hole RK-26-293 intersecting cumulative 4.7 m of >10,000 cps including 0.1 m of >61,000 cps. This hole expanded the vertical extent by 94 m, a 17% increase to 644 m. This zone of intense mineralization is accompanied by strong, broad hydrothermal alteration with notable potential for additional mineralized continuation nearby and below (Figures 1 and 2). The strike extent remains at 210 m as recent tests primarily focused on confirmation of deep-seated interpretations.

RK-26-290c1 designed as a down-plunge test in hole delivered a dual purpose as a test across the full extent of the previous known mineralized footprint of PCE in order to understand the geometry, continuity and extents of high-grade zones within the overall mineralization. This hole intersected multiple stacked uranium veins across 40 m of the high-grade subdomain with cumulative 19.5 m of >10,000 cps including 12.9 m of >10,000 cps that surrounds 5.2 m of >61,000 cps. This is the best hole to date at PCE based on >61,000 cps. Advancement of the model was optimized with confirmation of interpretations as well as critical identification of repeating, mineralization-controlling structural disruptions.

RK-26-294 delivered confirmation of strong internal continuity of intense mineralization intersecting cumulative 6.9 m of >10,000 cps including 3.1 m of >61,000 cps located 27 m along strike of RK-24-222 (17.0 m at 3.85% U3O8) (Figures 1 to 4). Together with RK-26-290c1, these holes combined represent the two best holes drilled to date in 2026.

Additional new drilling shown in Figures 1 and 2, and Table 1, tested the mineralized extents and key areas within the high-grade subdomain. These holes provided crucial geological orientation information that influences extents of the model, in particular the high-grade component. An example being RK-26-296 with cumulative 3.5 m of >10,000 cps including 0.4 m of >61,000 cps that expanded the shallowest portion of PCE by 50 m along strike. Overall, the bulk of high-grade subdomain mineralization at PCE is 70 m shallower than the A2 High-Grade (HG) Zone.

Jason Craven, Vice President of Exploration, commented: "Growth of the high-grade subdomain continues to exceed expectations with expansions across the areas of focus with mineralization still open in most directions. Establishing clear connectivity between intense high-grade intersections with RK-26-290c1 and RK-26-294, which both hit broad zones of intense uranium mineralization is a material advancement of this discovery. In addition, RK-26-293 is extremely exciting as it has expanded the high-grade subdomain by 94 m and opened this area up for potential high-impact growth of this high-grade mineralization."

Leigh Curyer, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Given today's results at PCE, the team is adding a fifth drill rig for the remainder of the 2026 program. In parallel, with construction of the Rook I Project, the team is delivering on multiple fronts and simultaneously expanding the long-term growth profile of NexGen as a world leader in the provision of this key energy fuel."

Drilling at PCE recommenced on May 28, 2026 and to date in 2026 a total of 20,138.7 m has been completed of the planned 42,000 m, focusing on high-grade growth and expansion of mineralization. Eleven drillholes this summer totalling 7,425.2 m have further tested the mineralization at PCE. NexGen has added a fifth drill rig to continue to advance this uranium discovery optimally. Additional tests of the parallel trend at PCE are planned as part of the remainder of summer drilling. Samples from 2026 drilling are continuously submitted to the independent Saskatchewan Research Council Geoanalytical Laboratory (SRC), with results to follow.

SummaryCompaniesNexGen aims to secure funding within nine months via prepayment, debt and project equityBHP examined a possible NexGen acquisition last year, two sources told ReutersRook I is targeted to start production by 2030 in the Athabasca basinATHABASCA BASIN, Saskatchewan/MELBOURNE, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Canadian uranium miner NexGen Energy is sharing information and "talking regularly" with mining giant BHP, about its Rook ‌I mining project in Saskatchewan, CEO Leigh Curyer told Reuters when asked about a potential equity stake.

NexGen put the first shovel in the ground to kick off construction of what is slated to be one of the world's largest uranium mines on Thursday and will look to raise $1 billion in capital in the next nine months. The miner is considering financing options of prepayment agreements with utility companies, debt finance and direct equity in the project.

Asked if the company was talking to BHP about a potential equity partnership, Curyer said in an interview NexGen has an open dialogue and noted BHP has purchased a large parcel of land near the Rook project in the Athabasca basin.

“We always speak to them. We have a very open dialogue in terms of technical information," Curyer told Reuters. He said BHP wants to put more weighting in their portfolio in politically stable countries. "Let's see where the future goes."

Under previous CEO Mike Henry, BHP's business development team ran the ruler over NexGen last year, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

BHP's incoming CEO Brandon Craig, who took the helm of the world's largest miner on July 1, also plans to take a "really good look" at uranium but acknowledged that "scale was hard," according to an investor who declined to be named due to company policy. BHP declined to comment.

Soaring demand for AI is driving a massive build-out of ‌power-hungry data centres, in turn boosting the need for new generation capacity, including nuclear plants, while governments also look to diversify their energy sources in the wake of the Iran war.

BHP already produces around 5% of global uranium supply, as a byproduct at its Olympic Dam copper operations in South Australia, where it has previously ruled out further expansion. In the Athabasca region alone besides NexGen, at least two more miners such as Denison and Paladin are advancing their uranium mine construction.

BHP has a growing foothold in the region.

In Saskatchewan, BHP is building the world's largest potash mine.

Canada's Athabasca basin has the world's largest known deposit of uranium and of the highest grade, according to the country's natural resources ministry. It is home to companies such as Cameco and Orano Mining who make up the bulk of the uranium export.

NexGen's Rook mine is expected to come into production by 2030. Its market capitalisation has doubled to C$9.68 billion over the past year, which has led some investors to suggest it may now look too expensive for BHP.

Rook I, located deep inside Athabasca and surrounding the Patterson lake, is aiming to be one of the world's largest uranium producers. Canadian investor and actor Kevin O'Leary who MCd the ground-breaking ceremony on Thursday, called the project a "great energy story."

Broker Canaccord expects demand for uranium to triple by 2035 from 2025 levels, it said in a note in April.

NexGen Energy uvádí, že výstavba Rook I postupuje podle plánu

Why These 3 Nuclear ETFs Are Getting a Fresh Look as AI Power Demand RisesNexGen Energy NYSE: NXE said construction activities at its Rook I uranium project in Saskatchewan advanced on schedule and within budget during the second quarter of 2026, as the company continued to pursue uranium sales agreements and evaluate financing options for the project’s remaining construction needs.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Leigh Curyer said NexGen had completed its planned construction milestones during the quarter. The company commissioned a 3,000-foot airstrip, completed and occupied its accommodation complex, and continued major earthworks and surface-infrastructure work. NexGen said the site workforce totaled about 300 people and was growing as construction activity accelerated.

3 Bargain Stocks Under $20 With Major Growth PotentialThe company said the airstrip is expected to be extended to 5,840 feet by December 2026. During the remainder of the year, work is expected to focus heavily on earthworks, including preparation for shaft sinking scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. NexGen expects to begin concrete foundations for shaft headframes, a hoist house and a winch house in the fourth quarter, along with installation of a temporary freezing plant and construction of a primary batch plant.

Construction Costs and Project Execution Responding to an analyst question on capital-cost inflation, Curyer said the company had not identified any material change to its August 2024 construction-cost estimate of C$2.2 billion. He said NexGen had recently signed its shaft-sinking and underground-engineering contract, which represents more than half of the project build, at levels in line with the prior estimate.

Invest While You Can: Pullbacks on These 3 Stocks Won’t Last Long“To date, we have not seen anything material in that move, in that C$2.2 billion guidance,” Curyer said, adding that the contract includes incentives tied to shaft-sinking development rates.

Chris Copley, NexGen’s director of engineering, said confirmation drilling had validated prior assumptions for the shaft-freezing program. He said the company expects freezing to begin in early 2027, followed by pre-sinking by the middle of that year. Copley also said dry-mix and wet-mix batch plants are being prepared for the site to support foundation work and other construction activities.

Curyer said NexGen had C$970 million of liquidity at the end of the second quarter and that the heaviest project spending is not expected to begin until February and March 2027. He said expenditures currently being made on Rook I are being deducted from the C$2.2 billion construction estimate.

Uranium Contracting Strategy NexGen said it executed a term sheet during the quarter to sell an additional 1.3 million pounds of uranium to a U.S. utility customer. Curyer described the agreement as a short-duration arrangement priced at market levels at the time of delivery, intended to establish a longer-term customer relationship.

The company said it has 11.3 million pounds contracted and is negotiating additional agreements with utilities in the U.S., Asia and Europe, including one potential agreement covering up to 20 million pounds. Curyer emphasized that the latest 1.3 million-pound agreement should not be viewed as a template for future contract volumes or durations.

Instead, management said its primary commercial objective is to preserve exposure to uranium prices at the time of delivery. Curyer said NexGen’s contracts are structured differently by customer and can reference spot uranium prices, rolling spot-price averages, and potentially three- or five-year market pricing. The company said 96% of its reserve base remains available for future sales.

NexGen reiterated that its approximate break-even contracting level is 3.7 million pounds annually. Curyer said that even at that level, the company would retain 26.3 million pounds of annual production exposure to future uranium prices.

The company cited TradeTech pricing data showing uranium’s term market reached $97 per pound during the quarter, while the five-year forward price stood at $105 per pound. Curyer said the spot price had consolidated in the mid-$80s per pound.

Funding Options and Government Interest Management said NexGen is considering several options to fund the remaining construction capital, including project financing, strategic corporate or asset-level transactions, government support and prepayments for future uranium deliveries.

Chief Commercial Officer Travis McPherson said there is interest from Canadian and U.S. government-related sources, as well as other parties, in supporting Rook I. He did not identify specific agencies, amounts or potential timelines.

Curyer said discussions regarding uranium prepayments have been positive and could preserve price exposure through structures in which the number of pounds delivered changes depending on uranium prices. He said a hypothetical 10 million-pound prepayment at an $85-per-pound price would amount to $850 million, though he stressed NexGen is not seeking to fix uranium prices at that level.

Exploration at Patterson Corridor East NexGen said approximately half of its planned 42,000-meter drilling program at the Patterson Corridor East, or PCE, discovery had been completed. The company plans to drill roughly 20,000 additional meters through the remainder of 2026, with some drilling also planned at the SW3 target.

Curyer said the program is focused on expanding the mineralized footprint and defining high-grade subdomains. NexGen expects to release scintillometer results from recent drilling in batches in the coming months, while assay reporting will depend on laboratory processing capacity. He said the timing of a potential resource estimate for PCE will depend on the results and the extent of additional drilling needed to define the discovery.

The company plans to hold an Investor Day webinar in early September to provide a more detailed update on the Rook I construction pathway and project team.
