Nvidia unveils first open-source AI model since CEO Jensen Huang entered the chat | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
In late July, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang posted on X for the first time to defend open-source models in artificial intelligence, inserting himself into a debate that was raging across the industry.Less than three weeks later, Nvidia is releasing Nemotron 3.5 Lightning, which the company says is "lightweight" and can run on a single graphics processing unit on a PC. It's Nvidia's first open-source model since Huang joined most of his tech peers in urging the U.S. government to support open models while "avoiding premature restrictions" that could push innovation overseas. The new Nemotron offering is free for companies to download, use and modify without getting permission or paying Nvidia. For Nvidia, open-source AI is a boon for chip sales, because the models still need to run on GPUs, and the lower prices can serve to boost usage over proprietary models from the likes of OpenAI and Anthropic. "Free AI should be great for hardware," Huang told Axios in an interview last month. "Free AI should be great for chips." Huang jumped headfirst into a debate that had sprung up in Washington following the announcement of Kimi K3, a model developed by China's Moonshot AI that narrowed the gap with the most powerful American models. Politicians worried that Kimi K3 was potentially troublesome for national security, and that it represented intellectual property theft via a technique called distillation, which involves the use of answers from an advanced AI model's service to train a lighter model. watch now Policymakers questioned whether Chinese model developers could be subject to sanctions or other restrictions, similar to the rules placed on chip sales. Huang posted an open letter, which argued that open-weight models allow companies greater control over their future, spur competition and bring down pricing. "Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty," Huang wrote in his debut X post. Days later, Nvidia launched an AI safety consortium with companies including Microsoft that would focus on using open models and open-source software for cybersecurity. Open-source AI is one of the hottest topics in Silicon Valley. On Monday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg published a lengthy manifesto arguing for open-source AI, as his company released a coding model called Muse Spark. "Our goal should be for American open source models to be the best globally," Zuckerberg wrote. Nvidia said companies including CrowdStrike, CodeRabbit and Harvey have tested and customized its latest model. The chipmaker said it was developed particularly for agents, or AI programs that can run autonomously in the background. Nemotron 3.5 Lightning will also be available on HuggingFace and Nvidia's website. Additionally, Nvidia released software called NeMo Switchyard that can determine the cheapest and most appropriate AI model for any given task. Nvidia representatives said Monday that the company had used distillation to give Nemotron 3.5 Lightning similar capabilities to its larger Nemotron models. watch now |

Is Nvidia Stock Still a Good Buy at $220? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
It may seem ludicrous: the idea that a company with a $5.3 trillion valuation and the largest market cap of any publicly traded company might still be a cheap buy when factoring in its growth potential. But that's precisely the bull case for chipmaking giant Nvidia (NVDA -2.86%).While it has a sky-high market cap, it's backed by strong financials. The company has been a profit-generating beast over the years, so its valuation relative to earnings isn't outlandish. Some analysts and investors even argue that it may be a bargain. Is that really the case, and is tech stock a good buy, even at its elevated levels? Image source: Getty Images. Nvidia's stock seems like a bargain -- if you believe analyst projections A key metric for growth investors to gauge a stock's value based on its long-term growth rate is the price-to-earnings-growth (PEG) multiple. It takes into account the stock's current earnings multiple and divides it by the expected growth rate over the next five years. If it's below 1.0, then the stock is considered a cheap buy. And the lower the PEG goes, the better of a buy it is. Currently, Nvidia's PEG multiple is 0.62, well below the 1.0 cutoff. This relies heavily on the assumption that tech companies will continue to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) and that Nvidia's chips will remain in high demand, enabling it to grow its top and bottom lines at a high rate for the foreseeable future. But expectations can be wrong. While AI can enhance day-to-day operations, there's a risk that expectations have gotten out of control yet again and that another bubble has emerged. If that happens and the growth story unravels, then Nvidia, along with a flurry of tech stocks, could crash. If not, and AI proves to be the game changer many believe it will be, then Nvidia is indeed a cheap buy and may still rise a whole lot higher. Today's Change ( -2.86 %) $ -6.41 Current Price $ 217.55 Why I wouldn't buy Nvidia I'm skeptical about all the AI growth, but that's not the only reason I'd be careful with Nvidia. Even if the business continues to flourish, I don't believe the stock has much more runway to become more valuable. Even in the bullish case where AI spending remains strong, Nvidia may inevitably run out of room to rise higher. Plus, the more lucrative the opportunity, the more competition there will inevitably be. Tech companies have already been making their own chips, and those efforts could intensify. Nvidia has been a terrific growth stock, but with so much depending on future expectations and so much vulnerability, it's not an investment I'd feel comfortable holding, especially when there are so many other quality growth stocks to choose from. |

Nvidia teams up with Wall Street asset managers on $500 billion AI infrastructure push | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia is attempting to turn its artificial intelligence chips into Wall Street's newest asset class, partnering with six large asset managers on a $500 billion financing push designed to treat compute infrastructure much like commercial real estate, toll roads or other assets you can borrow against. The chipmaker signed memorandums of understanding with Apollo Global Management, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs and KKR to establish financing platforms for Nvidia's customers, the company said Monday in a statement. The effort aims to mobilize more than $500 billion in third-party capital for hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, and enterprises to build out data centers and acquire Nvidia hardware, marking a potentially important shift in how AI infrastructure is funded. By using institutional credit, insurance funds and private capital to underwrite GPUs and data centers, Nvidia is helping its end users secure financing without tapping their own balance sheets. "Nvidia has reached an important milestone. We began by building chips; today, we are helping create a new class of productive, investable infrastructure: AI factories," Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement. "In AI, compute is revenue. NVIDIA compute is uniquely suited for this role." Huang said that because Nvidia's hardware and software platform is broadly adopted, flexible and transferable across customers, lenders can reliably underwrite compute as a revenue-generating asset with an extended life. Alternative asset managers have been eager to deploy capital into digital infrastructure, tapping institutional and insurance capital to finance projects. Apollo and Blackstone, among others, have already structured debt and equity financing for companies including Anthropic. Leaders across the Wall Street group — including BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Blackstone President Jon Gray and Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon — said in the Nvidia release that modern compute has rapidly evolved into a mission-critical asset class driving the next leg of global economic growth. "We're in a pivotal moment of a historic AI investment cycle," Solomon said in the release. "Our investment and distribution roles reflect our confidence in NVIDIA's leadership, and we're excited for the new opportunity to create a market for credit backed by NVIDIA compute." This story is developing. Please check back for updates. |

Everyone's Watching NVIDIA - But Is Sandisk the Real AI Winner? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways Sandisk's Q4 revenues jumped 51% sequentially as datacenter demand drove its AI-fueled growth. SNDK expects Q1 FY27 revenues of $10.3B-$10.8B and gross margins of 83%-85%. Sandisk's NBM agreements improve revenue visibility, while analysts see further upside for SNDK. Investors are keeping an eye on NVIDIA Corporation’s (NVDA - Free Report) earnings later this month, as the results could signal strength in artificial intelligence (AI) demand and set the tone for the broader tech sector. NVIDIA has consistently reported strong quarterly performances, banking on robust demand for its state-of-the-art chips and CUDA software platform. However, the stock has gained only 20.1% this year, indicating that investors’ expectations remain exceptionally high. Investors are also concerned that any possibility of a slowdown in AI spending, export restrictions on the sale of chips to China, and stiffer competition could weigh on NVIDIA’s margins. Thus, it’s prudent for investors to closely watch strong performers across the AI ecosystem that have delivered substantial gains this year and are poised to scale higher in the near term. Sandisk Corporation (SNDK - Free Report) stands out, with its shares surging 410.7% year to date and appearing well positioned for further upside. Let’s explore why Sandisk is the real AI winner – Sandisk’s Growth and Pricing Power Fuel Upside Sandisk recently reported strong fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 financial results. The company’s revenues for the fiscal fourth quarter were $8.97 billion, up 51% quarter over quarter, while revenues for the fiscal year 2026 reached $20.25 billion, up 175% from a year ago, according to investor.sandisk.com. Datacenter has emerged as the key growth engine for Sandisk, with revenues from the segment jumping 437% in fiscal 2026. As AI models continue to grow larger and process more data, demand for high-capacity storage solutions has increased, benefiting Sandisk. The sequential revenue growth was driven not only by selling more units but also by higher pricing, indicating that Sandisk’s customers are willing to pay more for the company’s products, translating into higher margins and stronger cash flows. Looking ahead, Sandisk expects exceptionally high non-GAAP gross margins for the fiscal first quarter of 2027, guiding for 83% to 85%. For the fiscal first quarter, revenues are expected to come in at $10.3B-$10.8B, and at the midpoint, that would represent approximately 17.6% sequential growth. The outlook confirms that Sandisk expects strong growth and pricing momentum to continue into fiscal 2027. Clients are increasingly interested in establishing strategic relationships with Sandisk. During the company’s April earnings call, Sandisk announced five New Business Model agreements, and since then it has signed five more, improving revenue visibility and enhancing cash flow predictability. Therefore, Sandisk is a potential winner in the broader AI ecosystem, banking on strong growth, pricing power, margins and customer agreements. Consequently, the company’s expected earnings growth rate for the current year is 173.8%. The Zacks Consensus Estimate of $194.06 for SNDK’s earnings per share is up 1767.8% year over year. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Brokers also remain confident of the company’s growth prospects, estimating an average short-term price target for SNDK stock of $2,287.05, which represents an 88.7% increase from the last closing price of $1,212.21. The highest target is $3,169, suggesting a potential upside of 161.4%. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Sandisk currently has a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Why Nvidia stock is slipping over 3% on Monday | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia NVDA shares slipped on Monday after reports highlighted the chipmaker's expanding role in financing and investing across the artificial intelligence infrastructure buildout.Nvidia stock fell over 3% to around $217 in afternoon trading. The reported Lancium investment added to investor scrutiny of Nvidia's growing activity across the artificial intelligence supply chain, as the company increasingly uses its cash to invest in businesses connected to the AI infrastructure boom. The broader market was little changed as investors monitored developments in the Middle East. The S&P 500 traded around the flatline amid growing doubts over whether the US and Iran will reach a lasting resolution to their conflict in the near term. The Nasdaq Composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average were also little changed. The three major US indexes entered Monday after posting their strongest weekly performances since April, with the S&P 500 ending the previous week at a record closing high. Technology-focused news outlet The Information reported Friday that Nvidia has agreed to invest $2 billion for a 20% stake in Lancium, which is backed by investment company Blackstone. Nvidia also has the option to invest an additional $1 billion if certain milestones are met, according to the report. Lancium is the power-infrastructure developer behind the Stargate AI campus in Texas, a project involving OpenAI and Oracle. The Lancium investment is part of a broader expansion of Nvidia's investment activity. FactSet data show the company made 66 private-company investments across 2025 and 2026. The Lancium report comes alongside a separate development highlighting Nvidia's growing role in financing the wider AI infrastructure buildout. The Financial Times reported that some of the world's largest financial groups are working with Nvidia to assemble a $500 billion funding package for AI infrastructure development. A consortium, including Apollo Global, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, and KKR, is entering a partnership with Nvidia to invest in the AI buildout, six people briefed on the talks told the Financial Times. The deal could be announced as soon as Monday, the report said. The partnership would underscore Nvidia's efforts to help raise capital for itself and its customers as companies build the chips, power infrastructure, and data centers needed for the AI boom. Nvidia has also provided financial backing to help AI partners raise debt in capital markets. Such arrangements can support demand for Nvidia's products by helping its customers finance infrastructure purchases. However, the interconnected nature of these transactions has raised concerns about concentrated risks within the AI infrastructure market, particularly as Nvidia becomes involved not only in supplying chips but also in helping finance the ecosystem that purchases them. Nvidia has rallied over the past week as investors regained confidence in its position in the artificial intelligence semiconductor market. One recent source of support came from Elon Musk's SpaceX. During SpaceX's latest earnings call, Musk said the company had decided to build its AI infrastructure exclusively around Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture, calling it the best architecture. The commitment reinforced Nvidia's position as a preferred supplier for large-scale AI infrastructure and eased some concerns over competition from rival chipmakers and custom-designed processors. Nvidia's recent valuation has also attracted attention after the stock's earlier pullback. Morningstar said Nvidia now fits the profile of a growth-at-a-reasonable-price investment and maintained its $280 fair value estimate. Investor attention is increasingly turning to Nvidia's earnings report, scheduled for August 26. Analysts expect earnings per share of $2.09, representing 98.6% growth from a year earlier, and revenue of $91.8 billion, up 96.3% year over year. Beyond the headline figures, investors are expected to focus on management commentary about customer demand, order trends, data-center spending, and adoption of next-generation processors. Nvidia's expanding investment activity is likely to remain another area of focus as investors assess whether such deals are helping strengthen the AI ecosystem and ultimately supporting demand for the company's chips. Investors are also expected to scrutinize so-called circular AI deals, in which technology companies invest in AI startups or infrastructure projects that subsequently use funding to purchase chips and cloud services. The structures have drawn scrutiny because they could potentially inflate demand if spending remains concentrated among a relatively small group of technology companies. The reported Lancium investment, alongside Nvidia's broader financing initiatives, therefore adds another dimension to the debate over the company's role in the AI boom. Nvidia is no longer simply supplying the chips powering the buildout. It is increasingly helping finance and develop the infrastructure required to deploy them. |

Taalas Buyout Boosts AMD's AI Inference Abilities Against NVDA & GOOGL | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Key Takeaways AMD will integrate Taalas' inference technology with Instinct GPUs to improve AI performance and efficiency.Taalas complements AMD's full-stack AI portfolio as demand for its Helios systems rises.NVIDIA and Alphabet pose major AI inference challenges with broad platforms, software ecosystems and scale. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD - Free Report) announced on Thursday (Aug. 6) that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Taalas, a Toronto-based developer of specialized AI inference silicon, as the company looks to strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding AI inference market. Taalas’ technology is designed to optimize inference dataflows and reduce the compute and memory bottlenecks associated with more general-purpose architectures. AMD plans to incorporate the technology into its accelerator roadmap and develop system-level solutions that combine Taalas’ capabilities with AMD Instinct GPUs.The acquisition appears strategically well aligned with AMD’s growing emphasis on inference, an area that is becoming increasingly important as AI workloads transition from model training toward large-scale production deployment. Taalas has developed an approach that effectively builds specialized hardware around AI models, potentially allowing workloads to run with higher efficiency than on general-purpose architectures. AMD believes the combination can improve inference performance and efficiency while giving Taalas access to AMD’s engineering resources, scale and global customer reach. Taalas’ technology complements AMD’s broader full-stack AI portfolio, which includes Helios rack-scale systems, EPYC CPUs, Instinct accelerators, Pensando networking and ROCm software. AMD said Helios can deliver up to 15% higher throughput at the same rack power and as much as 30% more tokens per dollar than competing solutions across a broad range of inference workloads. Customer demand is also running ahead of AMD’s initial expectations. The integration of Taalas’ specialized inference technology could therefore give AMD another architectural lever to improve performance, power efficiency and token economics instead of relying solely on successive GPU improvements. The Taalas deal strengthens AMD compute power with specialized inference silicon while retaining the ability to combine it with Instinct GPUs, EPYC processors and ROCm. AMD plans to introduce a new rack-scale AI platform every year, with successive generations targeting significant improvements in performance, efficiency and total cost of ownership. The company expects its 2027 platform, incorporating MI500-series GPUs, Verano CPUs and next-generation networking, to produce the largest generational performance improvement in Instinct history. The company remains on track to increase inference performance by more than 2,000 times over four years. Tough Competition Hurts AMD’s ProspectsAMD’s prospects suffer from stiff competition. NVIDIA (NVDA - Free Report) and Alphabet (GOOGL - Free Report) are major competitors in the AI inference space. NVIDIA competes directly with AMD as a merchant supplier of AI infrastructure, while Alphabet is increasingly a vertically integrated rival through its internally developed TPUs, Google Cloud infrastructure and Gemini ecosystem. NVIDIA’s Blackwell is already deployed across every major hyperscaler, cloud provider and major model maker, while frontier AI companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Perplexity and Cursor, are building on its platform. This broad installed base creates a significant hurdle for AMD as it attempts to expand adoption of Instinct accelerators and ROCm. NVIDIA believes that its CUDA ecosystem, installed base and continually improving software stack allow customers to generate returns from GPUs beyond their depreciable lives, strengthening customer retention and raising switching costs. Alphabet designs its own TPUs, deploys them across its enormous internal AI workloads, uses them to power Gemini, and offers the same infrastructure externally through Google Cloud. The company’s Google Cloud now offers TPU 8t and 8i alongside NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin, with Google highlighting the price-performance of its accelerators. Alphabet’s software stack supports JAX, PyTorch, vLLM and SGLang across GPUs and TPUs, while its Virgo network is designed to connect as many as one million accelerators across multiple data-center sites. AMD’s Share Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesAMD shares have jumped 125.7% year to date, outperforming the broader Zacks Computer and Technology sector’s return of 18.1%. AMD Stock’s Price Performance Image Source: Zacks Investment Research AMD stock is overvalued, with a forward 12-month price/sales of 11.37X compared with the broader sector’s 6.58X. AMD has a Value Score of F. AMD Valuation Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Zacks Consensus Estimate for third-quarter 2026 earnings is pegged at $1.87 per share, up a couple of cents over the past 30 days, suggesting 55.83% year-over-year growth. BofA: Nvidia's next earnings report could kick off a "multi-quarter upgrade cycle" | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, XETRA:NVD) is set to report second-quarter earnings after the market closes on August 26 and Bank of America thinks the chipmaker is about to do what it usually does: beat expectations and raise its outlook, only this time with an extra catalyst behind it.In a note maintaining its Buy rating and $350 price objective on the stock, BofA analysts said they expect Nvidia to post revenue of $94 billion to $95 billion, a $3 billion to $4 billion beat above the company's own $91 billion guidance. More notable, though, is what they expect for guidance going forward: a raise to $107 billion to $108 billion, well above the roughly $104 billion that Wall Street analysts are currently modeling. The reason for that optimism comes down to timing. Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin platform is starting to ship, along with new Vera CPU ramps, and BofA points to strong cloud capital spending trends as further support. The analysts also flagged that spot prices for renting GPU capacity have hit all-time highs, which they say could ease lingering concerns about return on investment and speed up how quickly customers move to the new generation of chips. Rising memory prices are a worry across chipmakers this year, but BofA doesn't see it hitting Nvidia hard. The firm expects gross margin to settle around 73% to 74% long-term, down only modestly from about 75% today. On upcoming Vera Rubin racks, the margin hit from memory is just 60 basis points versus the current Blackwell Ultra generation. New "pod-level" systems could see a steeper 500-basis-point hit, but BofA expects those to stay a small part of the mix. Long-term supply deals, including Nvidia's ties to SK Hynix, should also help cushion the pressure. Critics argue Nvidia's direct stakes in customers like OpenAI ($30 billion) and Anthropic ($10 billion) artificially inflate demand. BofA counters that the roughly $70 billion invested so far is just 15% of the $470 billion in free cash flow it expects Nvidia to generate in 2026 and 2027, leaving room to keep returning 50% of free cash flow to shareholders. A separate $250 billion OpenAI/SB Energy backstop isn't upfront money either, BofA notes, but a contingent guarantee that only triggers on default, with payments back-end loaded to 2028 or later. Five things to watch beyond the headline numbers BofA laid out what it considers the real debates investors should be paying attention to this quarter, beyond just whether Nvidia beats and raises: The Vera Rubin rollout - any updates on supply and whether Nvidia's forecast of more than $1 trillion in revenue from calendar years 2025 through 2027 changes. OpenAI's financing arrangement - specifically, more clarity on the vendor financing and backstop deal, and when Nvidia might be able to redirect that cash toward stock buybacks instead. Whether margins hold up as memory costs keep rising. Memory now makes up 40% to 50% of the cost to build Nvidia's systems, compared with 15% to 20% or so historically. How hyperscalers are growing compared to what BofA calls ACIE (its term for AI cloud infrastructure providers outside the traditional hyperscalers). The open-versus-closed AI model debate and what it means for the size of Nvidia's addressable market. |

Original source text
The Magnificent 7 have carried markets for years, but 2026 has revealed cracks in the group. Some names are stalling under the weight of massive AI capex bills. Two, however, still look built to lead the pack into 2027: NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA | NVDA Price Prediction) and Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META). NVIDIA is up 20.23% year to date, while Meta is down 10.15%, setting up one momentum trade and one classic comeback story. Here is how NVIDIA hits $325 and Meta hits $800 in 2027. Why NVIDIA Can Push to $325 NVIDIA is the closest thing the market has to a pure play on AI infrastructure, and the numbers keep validating it. Q1 FY27 revenue hit $81.615 billion, up 85.23% year over year, with Data Center alone at $75.246 billion and networking growing 199%. That marked the fourth consecutive earnings beat, meaning actual results will likely keep running ahead of Street models. CEO Jensen Huang framed it plainly: “The buildout of AI factories, the largest infrastructure expansion in human history, is accelerating at extraordinary speed.” With $119 billion in supply commitments, an $80 billion buyback authorization, and Q2 guidance of $91 billion in revenue, the pipeline is firmly booked. At $223.96, NVIDIA trades around 27x forward EPS of $8.26. Hitting $325 implies roughly 39x forward earnings, rich but reasonable for a business compounding earnings triple digits. Wall Street already sits at $302.83, and history is on our side: shares returned 171% in 2024, 125% in 2021, and 224% in 2016. A 45% year to $325 is well within that envelope. Why Meta Can Reclaim $800 Meta’s story is the opposite: hated in the short term, structurally intact. Shares fell after Q2 2026 EPS of $6.18 missed the $7.22 estimate, snapping a six-quarter beat streak. But the miss was driven by one-time items, including $2.4 billion in legal charges and $1.18 billion in severance, not core weakness. Ad revenue still grew 27% to $59.36 billion, impressions rose 14%, price per ad rose 12%, and daily users climbed to 3.60 billion. Mark Zuckerberg told investors, “AI is accelerating our core business today, powering our next generation of products, and opening the door to entirely new enterprise opportunities.” With $125 to $145 billion in 2026 capex funding Meta Superintelligence Labs and Ray-Ban AI glasses, the monetization runway is real. At $592.10, Meta trades at just 15x forward EPS of $40.09, well below the S&P 500’s roughly 22x forward multiple. Re-rating to 20x on that same EPS gets shares to $800. Analysts already sit at $756.95 with 55 Buy ratings and zero Sells, and Reddit sentiment has swung back to a 72 to 78 bullish range. Shares traded above $785 as recently as August 2025, so $800 is a realistic reclaim of prior levels. The Bottom Line NVIDIA needs roughly 45% to reach $325, and Meta needs about 35% to hit $800. Both look plausible: NVIDIA has the earnings momentum and buyback firepower, while Meta has valuation, ad growth, and a battered setup ready to snap back. Risks remain, from China export limits at NVIDIA to capex intensity at Meta. Returns like these shouldn’t be assumed every year, but we’ve laid out the blueprint for how these two Mag 7 names come out on top in 2027. Billionaire Mark Cuban Just Warned Nvidia's AI Financing Could "Crumble" the Market. Should Investors Be Worried? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Billionaire Mark Cuban's warning that Nvidia's (NVDA +2.27%) aggressive artificial intelligence (AI) financing could "crumble" the market is one investors should take seriously. This isn't because Nvidia is suddenly a bad business, but because its AI financing has quietly turned it into a central node in a very leveraged, very interconnected system.Image source: Getty Images. Cuban's point is pretty simple. In his July posts, he compared Nvidia's role in this AI boom to the IPO machine of the dot‑com era, arguing that "instead of IPOs, Nvidia is the IPO, funding everyone and anyone." By offering financing, revenue‑sharing, and minimum‑revenue guarantees to data center operators and neoclouds, Nvidia is effectively subsidizing customers' GPU purchases and build-outs. That makes sense if demand keeps soaring and everyone can pay their bills. It could be fragile if even one big customer stumbles. Today's Change ( 2.27 %) $ 4.97 Current Price $ 223.96 Under the hood, there is a lot of "creative" money at work. Nvidia has already committed more than $40 billion to AI investments in early 2026, including huge stakes and financing packages tied to OpenAI, Corning, and Iren. Deals like the proposed $100 billion OpenAI data center plan and multi‑billion-dollar SPV structures for xAI rely on GPUs as collateral, long‑dated lease obligations, and assumptions about AI revenue that are still unproven. Legal analysts are already warning that AI data center funding involves layered private credit, securitizations, and off‑balance‑sheet vehicles where distress in one node can propagate across banks, insurers, and pension funds. Investors should take Cuban seriously Cuban's "crumble" language goes straight at that. If Nvidia is deeply intertwined with hundreds of operators who all borrowed to buy its chips, then a misstep -- weaker AI demand, a faster‑than‑expected hardware cycle, or a rival chip breakthrough -- could expose the fact that too much infrastructure was built too fast. GPUs depreciate faster than many models assume, and Nvidia itself has moved to a one‑year upgrade cadence, which raises the risk that collateral won't hold its value if the cycle slows. From a market‑wide perspective, the problem is not just Nvidia's equity price. It is that Nvidia's financing has become a pillar of the AI build-out, with junk bonds, SPVs, and private credit all leaning on the same bet. If those bets go wrong, you could see credit stress spread far beyond tech stocks into lenders and institutions that financed the data center boom. So yes, I think investors should take Cuban's warning seriously. Nvidia is still a phenomenal business, but the way it is now funding AI infrastructure means everyone exposed to this theme needs to think not just about earnings, but about counterparty risk and leverage across the ecosystem, especially if you own the lenders as well as the chips. |

Nvidia stock price prediction after August 26 earnings | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) could reach $238 after its August 26 earnings report, according to a ChatGPT analysis based on continued strength in AI infrastructure spending and adoption of its Blackwell systems. The target implies upside of about 7% from Nvidia’s press-time trading value of $224 and assumes the company will once again beat Wall Street expectations while maintaining a strong growth outlook. NVDA one-week stock price chart. Source: Finbold The earnings report is one of Wall Street’s most closely watched events, with investors looking for evidence that AI spending remains robust. Analysts expect Nvidia to post revenue of about $91.9 billion and earnings per share of $2.07, up from $81.6 billion in the previous quarter. Markets will be focused on Blackwell shipments, AI demand, and management’s guidance, particularly for signs that quarterly revenue could soon exceed $100 billion. According to ChatGPT’s assessment, the most likely outcome is that Nvidia reports revenue of $93 billion to $95 billion, ahead of consensus estimates, with earnings per share of $2.10 to $2.18. The forecast also assumes strong Blackwell demand and guidance that modestly exceeds expectations. Nvidia stock price post earnings Under this scenario, Nvidia stock could gain 4% to 8%, implying a post-earnings range of roughly $230 to $242, with a projected price near $238. A stronger rally is possible if Nvidia delivers revenue above $96 billion, earnings per share above $2.20, and guidance indicating quarterly revenue could soon approach or surpass $100 billion. In that case, shares could rise 12% to 18%, reaching the $250 to $265 range. The bullish outlook is supported by continued AI spending from major cloud providers, expanding inference workloads and growing demand from sovereign AI initiatives. At the same time, heading into the earnings, the main risk is weaker-than-expected guidance rather than an earnings miss. Therefore, signs of slower Blackwell adoption, softer AI demand, lower margins, or reduced spending by major customers could send Nvidia shares down 8% to 15%, into the $190 to $205 range. Nvidia stock price prediction. Source: ChatGPT Longer term, ChatGPT projected that Nvidia could advance toward $275 to $300 by the end of 2026 if AI demand and revenue growth continue to accelerate. Why are Nvidia, AMD and Tesla climbing together in Monday pre-market? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia, AMD and Tesla shares rose in premarket trading on Monday as Wall Street extended Friday’s technology-led rally after a weak US jobs report.Nvidia gained about 0.4%, AMD around 0.9% and Tesla roughly 1% early, while Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.4%. The S&P 500 closed at a record on Friday after July payrolls unexpectedly fell by 23,000, pushing the probability of a September Federal Reserve rate increase down to roughly 44%. The question now is whether easing rate pressure can keep lifting growth stocks, or whether Wednesday’s inflation report forces investors to rethink the trade. Nvidia enters the week with the strongest fundamental momentum. Shares jumped 11.6% last week, their best weekly advance since May 2025, after Elon Musk said SpaceX would build its future AI infrastructure exclusively on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin architecture. Amazon, Alphabet and Meta have also continued signalling heavy AI infrastructure spending. Wolfe Research analyst Chris Caso said SpaceX’s planned computing expansion alone could account for more than the $160 billion of incremental Nvidia data-centre growth Wall Street expects in 2027. Caso said the announcement showed AI spending growth could continue and argued that consensus estimates looked “very conservative”. That gives Nvidia more than a rate-sensitive bounce. SpaceX represents another major customer while investors debate whether the AI capital-spending cycle is nearing a peak. Barron’s also noted on Monday that investors have recently favoured established market leaders such as Nvidia over competitors still needing to prove execution. AMD’s setup is different as its second-quarter numbers were strong, but investors had priced in something close to perfection. Revenue reached a record $11.54 billion, up 50% year on year, while adjusted earnings came in at $1.66 a share. Yet third-quarter adjusted gross-margin guidance of 56%, unchanged from Q2, disappointed investors looking for stronger operating leverage from booming AI demand. William Blair analyst Sebastien Naji said AMD’s report left “much to prove,” pointing to intense competition and the need for Helios to translate into accelerator share gains. JPMorgan’s Harlan Sur similarly said gross-margin guidance landed modestly below buy-side expectations. Still, Susquehanna analyst Christopher Rolland expects AMD’s server CPUs to remain strong and sees a data-centre GPU revenue ramp later this year as MI450 chips and Helios deployments accelerate. AMD has also agreed to acquire AI-inference specialist Taalas, extending its effort to build a broader AI platform. Tesla stock remains the wildcard before CPITesla’s rebound depends on investors believing its autonomy story can eventually outweigh weak near-term profitability. The shares gained 2.8% on Friday and added another 1% premarket Monday. Stifel maintains a Buy rating and $491 target, citing progress in Full Self-Driving and Robotaxi, alongside improving vehicle demand and Tesla’s strongest order backlog since 2023. Jefferies is cautious. The firm cut its target to $350 from $400 and retained a Hold rating after reducing its 2026 EBIT forecast by 37% to $3.9 billion, citing disappointing second-quarter operating leverage. That divide makes Tesla the most sensitive test of Monday’s risk appetite. |

Mark Cuban Compared Nvidia to a Dot-Com-Era IPO Machine "Funding Everyone and Anyone." Here's What That Means for AI Stocks. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Mark Cuban recently raised concerns about how the artificial intelligence (AI) boom is being financed. In a July 28 post on X, he described Nvidia (NVDA +2.27%) as the sector's IPO, "funding everyone and anyone."Cuban was not suggesting that Nvidia literally takes companies public. He was comparing Nvidia's role with the dot-com boom, when IPOs gave young internet companies money to expand. Nvidia is now investing in AI model developers and cloud operators, as well as other companies supporting the wider AI market. Image source: Getty Images. Nvidia's financing role is becoming significant Nvidia exited the first quarter of fiscal 2027 (ending April 26, 2026) with $42.3 billion of private investments and another $27 billion of contingent investment commitments. Nvidia's wider investment portfolio includes model developers OpenAI and Anthropic, cloud operators CoreWeave (CRWV +6.26%) and Nebius Group (NBIS -1.01%), and technology suppliers such as Intel, Synopsys, Nokia, and Coherent. Today's Change ( 2.27 %) $ 4.97 Current Price $ 223.96 Some of these investment deals could benefit Nvidia twice. Nvidia's investment may rise in value, while the company receiving the money may buy more Nvidia technology. But that link is not automatic. Several investments are also supporting suppliers and technology partners, not just customers. Therefore, its investment portfolio alone does not show that Nvidia is creating its own sales. Impact on AI stocks Cuban's warning is not a blanket argument against AI stocks. Large cloud providers and profitable AI chip and networking players can fund much of their spending from existing operations. A slowdown in data center construction could reduce their free cash flow, orders, or valuations, but it would not immediately threaten their ability to operate. The warning matters most for companies that need regular outside funding to keep expanding. Specialized cloud operators face greater risk. Today's Change ( 6.26 %) $ 5.34 Current Price $ 90.67 CoreWeave generated nearly $2.1 billion in revenue but spent $6.8 billion on capital expenditures in the first quarter of 2026 (ending March 31, 2026). Nebius shows a similar gap, with $399 million in revenue and nearly $2.5 billion in capital expenditures in the first quarter. Today's Change ( -1.01 %) $ -1.91 Current Price $ 187.97 Demand is not necessarily the problem. CoreWeave exited the first quarter with a $99.4 billion revenue backlog, while Nebius had nearly $4.8 billion of deferred revenue. The challenge is funding the GPUs and data centers needed to deliver that future revenue before much of the cash comes in. Iren (IREN +8.70%) is also a close Nvidia partner, but Nvidia has not yet made the full agreed-upon $2.1 billion investment. Instead, Nvidia has the right to purchase up to 30 million Iren shares at $70 each, subject to certain conditions. Today's Change ( 8.70 %) $ 3.30 Current Price $ 41.23 Iren faces a similar timing issue at an earlier stage. The company generated $144.8 million of revenue in the third quarter of fiscal 2026 (ending March 31, 2026). But the company spent about $1.36 billion on computer hardware, property, and equipment. Hence, Nvidia's stake in these companies is only part of the story. The bigger issue is whether they can eventually fund expansion with cash from their own businesses. Companies that still depend on external financing could face slower growth if funding becomes harder to obtain. |

Nvidia's Stock Is Completely Mispriced | FMP Stock News

Original source text
HomeStock IdeasLong IdeasTech SummaryNvidia Corporation's stock is up roughly 20% over the last 12 months, while revenue grew 85% and non-GAAP EPS grew 140%, a disconnect that leaves the shares mispriced.Q1 FY27 delivered $81.6B in revenue, up 85%, with a record $48.6B in free cash flow and gross margin holding at 75%.The new reporting split shows $37B coming from AI clouds, industrial and enterprise customers, proving Nvidia no longer depends solely on Big Tech budgets.Big Tech CapEx is guided to $725B in 2026, up 77% year over year, and Nvidia should capture 35% to 40% of that spending. At 31.6x blended P/E and 22x forward earnings against 88% expected FY27 EPS growth, I remain bullish, though circular financing deals are a risk worth watching. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Told Investors in Seoul to "Buy at a Discount" During the Recent AI Stock Sell-Off. Here's Whether His Call Has Paid Off. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
The artificial intelligence (AI) market was looking very shaky two months ago.On May 14, after a record run-up in share price, Nvidia (NVDA +2.27%) stock had surpassed $235/share, giving the company a $5.7 trillion market cap. Then investors began to worry that the AI boom had gotten too far ahead of reality. Over the next few weeks, AI shares took a beating, with Nvidia's dropping 15%, and AI hyperscalers Alphabet (GOOGL -0.96%) (GOOG -0.88%) and Amazon (AMZN +0.81%) each plunging 11%. (Not to brag, but I called it.) That's when Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang gave a piece of jaw-dropping advice to AI investors. Two months later, has his advice paid off? Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. Image source: Nvidia Corporation. Huang's advice Huang was in Seoul for a series of business meetings, including one in which he finalized a partnership with South Korean memory chipmaker SK Hynix to design next-generation AI memory chips. Between meetings, the Nvidia CEO spoke to reporters, and he didn't mince words. Here's what he said about the AI boom: "We're at the beginning of it, and whatever happened to the stock market, you should be very happy because now you can buy at a discount. Everybody should be very excited." In other words, Huang believed June 8 was a big opportunity to "buy the dip" in Nvidia and other AI stocks. Was he right? Was he ever! Read to the end Indeed, if investors had taken Huang's advice and gone "all in" on Nvidia's stock on June 8, they would now be beating the market... barely. Nvidia's shares are up 5.1% since June 8, while the S&P 500 has only advanced by 4.3%, giving Huang a 0.8% lead. But that's not the whole story. Today's Change ( 2.27 %) $ 4.97 Current Price $ 223.96 If you'd interpreted Huang's comments more broadly to refer to the entire AI industry and had instead purchased a basket of AI stocks that included equal parts Nvidia, Google, Amazon, and hyperscaler Microsoft (MSFT +0.03%), you'd really be doing well. Microsoft stock is up 18.5% since June 8, while Amazon's has risen 11.1%, largely on the strength of their recent earnings reports. Only Alphabet has lagged the market, and is actually down 0.5% from June 8. However, your four-stock "AI basket" would have produced returns of 8.5%, about double the S&P 500's gain during the same period. Of course, those would be the gains if you sold those stocks right now. But Huang wasn't talking about a two-month AI boom. He's looking years into the future and declaring that the recent, massive spending on AI is just the tip of the iceberg. He's predicting solid long-term gains for AI companies over years, not months. Selling your AI stocks now while they're beating the market is certainly tempting. But if you believe Jensen Huang knows what he's talking about -- and I certainly do!-- holding on to those stocks for the long term is your best move. Jensen Huang Says AI Will Kill Tasks, Not Jobs. Here's What That Means for Stocks Riding the AI Trade. | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia (NVDA +2.27%) CEO Jensen Huang recently told Y Combinator's Startup School attendees that artificial intelligence (AI) isn't going to eliminate jobs. He said that tasks are more at risk, and this shift clears a major hurdle for the AI trade.Bubble fears will weaken if AI doesn't replace jobs and automates various tasks instead. Here's how investors should interpret Huang's prediction. Image source: Getty Images. AI won't kill the economy if it doesn't kill jobs One of the concerns with artificial intelligence is that the technology will become so advanced that it will replace most workers. For instance, if Alphabet's Waymo self-driving vehicles perform as well as humans, taxi and Uber drivers won't be able to find work. Today's Change ( 2.27 %) $ 4.97 Current Price $ 223.96 Elon Musk is more bearish on that prospect and believes that universal high income via government checks will be required in the future. However, he also believes that everyone will end up with a penthouse because of AI, which is a bit of a stretch given resource distribution and other factors. If AI creates job losses, consumer spending would drop sharply, and few people would be able to buy products and services from companies that made significant AI investments. Huang's stance is in clear contrast to Musk's views and suggests that the economy can run more efficiently with AI without substantial job losses. The AI trade just got safer Killing off tasks is still a lucrative opportunity for the AI trade. People swapped horses for cars because vehicles help them reach various destinations much faster. Cars have much lower maintenance costs than horses, which made the switch cost-effective as well. Artificial intelligence is on a similar trajectory. Cars increased travel demand, and the same has held true for airplanes. As AI reduces workloads and increases efficiency, tech giants will buy more products and services that are critical for AI infrastructure. Huang's comments suggest there won't be a point at which job losses become so steep that they bring the economy to a halt. AI spending can then continue, since hyperscalers know that demand for these resources will continue to grow. Musk just told investors that he will only buy Nvidia chips because "they are the best," and has committed to 10 gigawatts of AI compute by 2027. Capital is still heavily flowing into the AI trade, which suggests companies exposed to the opportunity can deliver outsize returns for long-term investors. There are still risks with trading AI stocks, but Huang's comments should offer some reassurance about the technology's long-term economic potential. Marc Guberti has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends Alphabet and Nvidia. The Motley Fool recommends Uber Technologies. Nvidia vs. Navitas Semiconductor: Here's What Their Revenue Trends Tell Investors About These Artificial Intelligence Companies | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia: Maintaining Consistent Upward Momentum and Expanding Scale in Quarterly RevenueNvidia (NVDA +2.27%) primarily generates its revenue by designing advanced graphics processing units alongside comprehensive accelerated computing hardware systems for major enterprise clients operating across diverse global markets. It recently established multiple large-scale technology infrastructure development agreements across South Korea and simultaneously reported a 72% net income margin for the quarter ended April 26, 2026. Navitas Semiconductor: Navigating Recent Contractions and Volatility in Quarterly RevenueNavitas Semiconductor (NVTS +12.02%) primarily generates its foundational revenue by engineering specialized power integrated circuits and advanced silicon carbide devices utilized by various commercial electronics manufacturers situated across multiple international markets. It recently introduced new thermal management packaging solutions designed specifically for high-power applications while actively responding to ongoing patent litigation and reporting a negative 10% gross margin for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Why Tracking Revenue Trends Matters for InvestorsMonitoring revenue provides a clear, reliable baseline that helps everyday long-term investors carefully evaluate whether a specific business is successfully attracting new customers while continually expanding its core operational sales volume over time. Detailed Quarterly Revenue Data for Nvidia and Navitas Semiconductor Over the Last Eight QuartersQuarter (Period End)Nvidia RevenueNavitas Semiconductor RevenueQ3 2024$30.0 billion (period ended July 2024)$21.7 million (period ended Sept. 2024)Q4 2024$35.1 billion (period ended Oct. 2024)$18.0 million (period ended Dec. 2024)Q1 2025$39.3 billion (period ended Jan. 2025)$14.0 million (period ended March 2025)Q2 2025$44.1 billion (period ended April 2025)$14.5 million (period ended June 2025)Q3 2025$46.7 billion (period ended July 2025)$10.1 million (period ended Sept. 2025)Q4 2025$57.0 billion (period ended Oct. 2025)$7.3 million (period ended Dec. 2025)Q1 2026$68.1 billion (period ended Jan. 2026)$8.6 million (period ended March 2026)Q2 2026$81.6 billion (period ended April 2026)$10.5 million (period ended June 2026)Data source: Company filings. Data as of Aug. 7, 2026. Foolish TakeExamining the revenue trends for Nvidia and Navitas Semiconductor reveals key insights about this pair of tech companies capitalizing on the rise of the artificial intelligence sector. Nvidia is experiencing rising quarter-over-quarter revenue. This indicates the company is successfully capturing customer demand for advanced semiconductor products to support AI. The trend is set to continue as Nvidia management forecasted sales to accelerate from $81.6 billion in its most recent quarter to $91 billion in the next. Meanwhile, Navitas revenue has seen a steady decline until the trend showed a reversal in 2026. The sales slump is due to the company’s decision to make a strategic pivot away from its mobile and consumer business in China last year to focus on artificial intelligence products. The China market was responsible for 60% of sales in 2024. While giving up that revenue resulted in sinking sales in 2025, Navitas management stated Q4 of last year would be the bottom. Its Q1 results demonstrated that to be the case, and its Q2 sales show an upward trend. The company forecasted Q3 to deliver $13.5 million in revenue, and if that comes to pass, it would represent the third consecutive quarter of rising sales, validating the AI strategy’s success. |

Elon Musk Just Announced Major News for Nvidia Shareholders | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
In case you missed it, CEO Elon Musk announced major news during the recent Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX +15.83%) (better known as SpaceX) earnings conference call. While SpaceX had some exciting news about its own business, I'm more concerned with what Musk said about Nvidia (NVDA +2.27%).Musk had some very complimentary words about Nvidia's products, and a SpaceX partnership is already in the making. But what does that mean for Nvidia's stock? Let's take a look. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Image source: The White House. Elon Musk gave a shining endorsement of Nvidia's products During the conference call, Musk stated that Nvidia makes the "best AI computer" and noted that SpaceX will exclusively be using Nvidia's new Vera Rubin architecture by the end of the year. Musk's technical prowess is well known, and an endorsement like that gives Nvidia investors all the confidence they need that it is still at the top of the AI computing food chain despite many rising competitors. SpaceX also has a vision of launching data centers into space and performing computing there. This vision is lofty and expensive, but could make sense from a cooling and footprint standpoint. Time will tell how this business plan shakes out for SpaceX, but for Nvidia, it's just another great customer that continues to load up on its products. Today's Change ( 2.27 %) $ 4.97 Current Price $ 223.96 But does this move the needle for Nvidia? Likely not. Over the first six months of the year, SpaceX spent about $28.5 billion on capital expenditures. Annualized, that's nearly $60 billion. For comparison, the AI hyperscalers are spending anywhere from $100 billion to more than $200 billion on data center capital expenditures this year. Not all of those funds for any company go directly to Nvidia, but a decent chunk of them do. So, having SpaceX as an exclusive client helps Nvidia, but doesn't make or break its business. I think the real news here is that SpaceX has identified Nvidia's product as best-in-class, which likely is the same sentiment shared across the AI computing landscape. This strengthens Nvidia's investment case, as right now the market is assuming the company will lose share to competitors and priced the stock at a dirt cheap level. NVDA PE Ratio (Forward) data by YCharts At less than 24 times forward earnings, Nvidia's stock isn't that expensive relative to the growth it's delivering, and I think it's one of the best investment options available right now. |

Dan Ives Says We're in the "3rd Inning" of the AI Revolution. Is Nvidia Stock Still a Buy After the Pullback? | FMP Stock News
|
Original source text
Nvidia (NVDA +2.27%) isn't flying as high as it once was. The GPU stock remains below its peak set in early May. Nvidia briefly lost its position as the world's largest company by market cap to Apple (AAPL +0.29%), but regained the top spot.Is Nvidia's stock still a buy after its latest pullback? If you believe Dan Ives, partner and senior managing director at merchant bank Yorkville Ives, the answer is a resounding "yes." Image source: The Motley Fool. Early in the game Ives said in a recent interview with CNBC, "We're in the third inning of the AI revolution." Any baseball fan knows that means it's still early in the game. Ives added, "There's one chip in the world fueling the AI revolution, and that's Nvidia." Using the third inning in the baseball metaphor might actually be too pessimistic. Ives told CNBC, "We're only 15% through what the broader spending is going to be in terms of AI." If that percentage is correct, the AI revolution could be only in its first inning. Is Ives right about the status of the AI market? I think so. Agentic AI adoption remains in its early stages. Physical AI (AI that operates in the real world rather than only on a screen) is definitely in its infancy. Meanwhile, multiple companies are scrambling to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI) and artificial superintelligence (ASI). AGI would match human capabilities, while ASI would exceed them. As for Ives' take on Nvidia's role in the AI revolution, he's exaggerating somewhat by calling the company's GPUs the "one chip" driving AI advances. Other tech giants have also developed widely used AI chips. However, Ives is correct that Nvidia is the clear leader in the AI chip market, with no end in sight to its dominance. Today's Change ( 2.27 %) $ 4.97 Current Price $ 223.96 Is Nvidia a no-brainer stock to buy on the pullback if everything Ives said is true? Not necessarily. Some might think Nvidia's growth prospects are already largely baked into the share price. However, I don't think that's the case. Nvidia's forward price-to-earnings ratio is 22.9, the second-lowest among the so-called "Magnificent Seven" stocks. Its price-to-earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio, which is based on Wall Street's five-year earnings projections, is a super-low 0.55. Ives noted that the demand for Nvidia's GPUs today outstrips supply by 12-to-1. That could change as rivals improve their chips' capabilities and cost-effectiveness.
