Stargate Finance is pulling the plug on four blockchains. Support for Gravity, Camp, GOAT and Metis through Stargate v2 will end on October 23, 2026.
If you have liquidity parked in Stargate pools on any of those networks, the calendar is now your most important DeFi tool. Users are being urged to withdraw or bridge their assets before the cutoff to avoid losing access to their funds.
What is changing and when
The affected chains are Gravity Alpha Mainnet, Camp, GOAT Network and Metis Andromeda. All four are being cut because of low activity.
The move tracks a broader LayerZero Labs initiative. The company is winding down the off-chain infrastructure services it runs on chains that show minimal usage.
There are actually two deadlines here, and they hit different groups. The first, October 23, 2026, applies to Stargate v2 users and liquidity providers on the four chains.
The second lands a week later. LayerZero’s default DVN and Executor services for those same chains will stop on October 30, 2026.
A cross-chain message needs someone to confirm it is legitimate and someone to actually deliver it on the other side. DVNs and Executors are the off-chain services LayerZero has been running to handle those jobs by default. When LayerZero stops supplying its default versions, apps on these chains have to arrange their own.
Developers building on the impacted networks have until October 30 to move to new DVN and Executor configurations, where those are available.
Anyone holding canonical assets through the established, official bridges is unaffected. The official bridges between Ethereum and Metis remain operational, so users who came in that way can sit tight.
Part of a bigger cleanup
This is not the first round of cuts. Stargate and LayerZero have already deprecated support for other networks earlier in 2026, with Aurora, Gnosis and Taiko among the chains named in prior wind-downs.
And the biggest cut is still ahead. All Stargate v1 pools are scheduled to shut down across every chain on December 15, 2026.
What this means for users, LPs and builders
For liquidity providers, the practical message is simple: act early. Waiting until the final days before October 23 means competing with every other LP heading for the exit at the same time.
Metis users have a cushion that the others may not, since the official Ethereum-Metis bridges keep running. For Gravity, Camp and GOAT, the practical impact depends on what alternative routes remain available to their users once Stargate exits.
Developers face the trickiest homework. Any application on these chains that leans on LayerZero’s default DVN and Executor setup needs a new configuration by October 30. If no replacement exists for a given chain, cross-chain features built on that stack could simply stop working.
For anyone touching LayerZero-based protocols, the dates worth circling are clear. October 23 for Stargate v2 on Gravity, Camp, GOAT and Metis. October 30 for default DVN and Executor services on those chains. December 15 for the shutdown of every Stargate v1 pool.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 13, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ETEL, the leading supplier of high-performance motion control components and complete motion platforms, is proud to introduce the METIS HP, a new full air bearing planar platform designed for the most demanding step‑and‑scan semiconductor applications, including direct laser writing and high‑resolution optical inspection systems. With this new product, ETEL further strengthens its position as a leader in high-precision motion control by delivering a solution that combines exceptional speed and stability, outstanding dynamic straightness, and projected tool‑point measurement capability.
“Building on ETEL’s long‑standing expertise in high‑precision platforms, the METIS HP provides the trajectory quality required for advanced optical processes,” said Stéphane Pellegrini, Product Manager at ETEL. “Its remarkable speed stability and dynamic straightness ensure consistent performance even at high scanning velocities. Supporting panel sizes up to 600 mm × 600 mm, the METIS HP addresses the growing need for next‑generation maskless lithography with large‑area substrates.”
At the core of the METIS HP is a multi‑degree‑of‑freedom (mDoF) HEIDENHAIN encoder, ensuring accuracy without thermal drift. This architecture enables projected tool‑point measurement. ETEL controllers can emulate a transistor-transistor logic (TTL) position signal for use as a trigger event. This innovative solution is a very compelling alternative to the classical interferometer used as an advanced trigger generator. With the METIS HP, there is no need for a mirror to be added on the carriage, no air lensing effect or air perturbation, and a lower cost.
The METIS HP delivers outstanding performance, including ±150 nm accuracy over the full XY stroke after mapping, ±150 nm dynamic straightness at speeds up to 1 m/s, and dynamic capabilities reaching accelerations up to 20 m/s². These capabilities minimize turnaround time, thereby increasing machine throughput for step-and-scan applications.
High-end inspection applications for advanced packaging require rapid and precise focal-distance adjustments. With its high-bandwidth 4-DoF module providing fine control over the Z, tip, tilt, and theta axes, METIS HP is the optimal platform for these demanding inspection tasks.
The METIS HP is now available for OEM integration. For further information, visit ETEL’s website at https://www.etel.ch/contact/. Or visit ETEL at the HEIDENHAIN Booth 1639 during SEMICON West, taking place October 13-15, 2026, in San Francisco.

Institutions: The Federal Reserve has limited room to raise interest rates, and are bullish on US 10-year Treasury bonds.
Infrastructure Capital Advisors is bullish on U.S. 10-year Treasury bonds, citing expectations that the Federal Reserve will implement just one more interest rate hike. The firm’s CEO and portfolio manager stated in a report that a single rate hike aligns with the Fed’s "dot plot"—its policymakers’ interest rate projections—and falls short of the market’s current pricing expectations. He noted: "U.S. 10-year Treasury yields typically run 100 basis points above the Fed’s federal funds rate terminal level. As such, we anticipate weak housing data and soft core CPI figures will push the Fed to pause its rate hikes, leading U.S. 10-year Treasury yields to stabilize around 5%."

NVIDIA's employee turnover rate is just 3.7%: the company does not have an organizational chart, and all staff receive 2 additional days of leave per quarter.
According to Fortune, NVIDIA’s global employee turnover rate is just 3.7%, far lower than the tech industry average of 21.9%. Febe Punsalan, NVIDIA’s head of human resources, stated that the company has long adhered to a "mission-first" culture, adopted flat management, and does not have a traditional organizational chart—key project leads may even report directly to CEO Jensen Huang, who currently has 36 direct reports. NVIDIA also continuously adjusts its welfare policies based on employee feedback. The company offers an extra two "Free Days" per quarter for all global staff, during which the entire company shuts down, and employees do not need to handle work or emails. Additionally, it maintains a hybrid work system, and provides maternity leave, paternity leave, student loan repayment support, reimbursement for IVF and surrogacy costs, as well as support programs for neurodivergent employees and their children. The report added that NVIDIA employees can purchase company stock at a 15% discount to the market price using their salaries, a perk that has made some staff millionaires. However, employees also noted that the company has high work intensity and a "pressure cooker" work environment. Punsalan acknowledged NVIDIA’s work is challenging, but said this high-intensity work is recognized by employees due to its sense of meaning and mission.

Bitcoin briefly dropped below $82,300, as Iranian tensions lifted oil prices above $102, putting pressure on market risk appetite.
Bitcoin briefly dipped below $82,300, rebounding to around the $82,500 level with a 1.94% 24-hour decline that broke below the recent key support of $83,000. FxPro previously noted that if BTC breaks decisively below $83,000, sellers could regain market control, potentially pushing prices quickly toward the $80,000 mark. The latest decline coincided with rising macro risks. Reports indicate the White House has asked the Pentagon to draft a military strike plan against Iran, a development that lifted Brent crude by roughly 2% to retake the $102 per barrel level. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield climbed to 5.31%, near its highest since 2002, further weighing on risk assets. Major cryptocurrencies were broadly lower: XRP fell nearly 4% to $1.42, Dogecoin (DOGE) dropped around 3%, Ethereum (ETH) declined about 3% to $2,570, while HYPE and Solana (SOL) both fell over 2%. On the prior day, roughly $550 million in crypto leveraged positions were liquidated, the majority of which were long positions. Bitcoin has fallen for two consecutive trading days recently, both times alongside rising oil prices and U.S. Treasury yields. If Brent crude falls back below $100, it could ease some of the current pressure on risk assets.
• October 23, 2026: Stargate support for Metis Andromeda ends.
• October 30, 2026: LayerZero Labs' DVN (Decentralized Verifier Network) and Executor stop serving Metis Andromeda.
Most token holders don't need to do anything. Check the table below to see if you're affected.
Developers and OApp/OFT owners: the full migration steps, addresses and configuration are in the [Technical Migration Guide], also available under the Technical tab on the Metis website.
Do I need to act? If you... What to do Deadline Hold m.USDC, m.USDT, WETH or METIS on Metis Andromeda Nothing. These are issued by the Metis canonical bridge, not Stargate. The Metis canonical bridge and other bridges are not affected.
Token holdersm.USDC, m.USDT, WETH and METIS on Metis Andromeda are issued by the Metis canonical bridge, not by Stargate or LayerZero. Minting and redemption through the Metis bridge continue as normal.
After October 23, 2026, these tokens can no longer be moved through Stargate. Stargate has never offered USDC on Metis Andromeda, and there are no Stargate Hydra assets (such as USDC.e) on Metis.
Liquidity providers: withdraw by October 23If you provide liquidity to any Stargate pool on Metis Andromeda, withdraw it before October 23, 2026.
Affected pools
• Stargate V2: USDT, ETH and METIS pools
• Stargate V1: USDT, METIS and MAI pools
Steps
1. Unstake first. If your LP tokens are staked, unstake them before withdrawing.
2. Withdraw in the Stargate app. Select Metis Andromeda and redeem your LP position.
3. Confirm. Check your wallet to confirm the underlying tokens have arrived.
4. Don't wait for the last days. Withdrawals depend on available liquidity at the time.
Stargate V1 pools close on every chain on December 15, 2026. On Metis Andromeda, cross-chain messaging stops earlier, so please withdraw V1 liquidity by October 23 as well.
Warning: Liquidity left in Stargate pools on Metis Andromeda after the deadline will become difficult or impossible to withdraw through the normal Stargate interface.
Pool and staking contract addresses are listed in the [Technical Migration Guide], Appendix A.
Bridging back inMetis Andromeda stays open in both directions. Here is how to move assets in after these changes.
Use the Metis canonical bridge. It issues m.USDC, m.USDT and WETH on Metis. It connects Ethereum and Metis Andromeda, so from other chains, bridge to Ethereum first. Stargate can no longer be used for this after October 23, 2026.
METIS, HERA, QI or MTVT bridged out through LayerZero V1
Bridge them back to Metis Andromeda before October 23, 2026, using the same route you used to leave. After that date these V1 routes are no longer supported. If you can't make the deadline, contact the Metis team.
Other LayerZero-bridged tokens (for example USDe, FRAX and others)
Whether you can bridge these in or out depends on whether the issuing project has enabled its pathway on the new DVNs and Executor. Supported pathways are Metis ↔ Ethereum, BNB Chain and GOAT Network. Check the project's official channels before bridging.
For developersIf your application sends LayerZero messages to or from Metis Andromeda, you have two options before October 30, 2026:
1. Keep supporting Metis Andromeda. Get your pathways enabled on the new DVNs and Executor, then update your LayerZero V2 ULN Send and Receive configuration.
2. Migrate your OFT or assets to another EVM chain that LayerZero continues to support.

DeFi risk management service LlamaRisk recommended that Aave wind down every reserve on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium and Aptos, but action against most of those instances was already taken.
An Aave governance proposal would wind down the lending protocol’s V3 markets on six blockchains and retire dozens of low-use token listings, a cleanup covering $98.1 million in supplied assets and $15.6 million in debt.
Risk service provider LlamaRisk, working with other Aave service providers, recommended offboarding 50 low-use reserves and 21 matured Pendle principal token listings across 11 deployments. It also proposed retiring all 25 reserves on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium and Aptos. The balances were measured on July 28.
An ARFC is a detailed proposal and precursor to an Aave Improvement Proposal; it is not, by itself, proof of a completed final onchain vote or execution.
Aptos exit follows recent launchThe proposed Aptos exit comes just 11 months after Aave launched its V3 market there, with available liquidity down 94% over six months and quarterly revenue below $1,000, according to LlamaRisk.
Every reserve on Scroll, zkSync, Metis and Soneium was already frozen, whereas Sonic and Aptos remained active and are recommended for freezing. The temp check on Aave’s multichain strategy concluded on Dec. 5, 2025, with 923,400 votes in favor and under 1% against increasing the reserve factor on underperforming instances, shutting down the instances on zkSync, Metis and Soneium, and establishing a $2 million annual revenue floor for new instance deployment.
Scroll was then added to the affected protocols through an accelerated process in April, as LlamaRisk filed a direct-to-AIP proposal to freeze every Scroll reserve and raise selected reserve factors, describing the measure as completing Scroll’s deprecation after a rapid deterioration in network liquidity and Aave market activity. Aave also published an updated risk framework on June 9, covering asset, bridge, monitoring and chain risk and criteria for winding down reserves or deployments, and this month’s announcement indicated de facto adoption of those rules by the protocol.
Aave founder comments on developmentSource: Stani Kulechov
Aave founder Stani Kulechov said in a Thursday post that this will also “reduce Aave’s economic and technical risk surface as part of the new Aave Risk Framework and Technical Asset Listing Framework.”
Still, this is not a reversal of Aave’s multichain expansion strategy, rather a strategic refocusing on select protocols. “Aave will continue applying continuous risk assessment for all assets across all deployments,” Kulechov said. The comments also follow Aave launching on Avalanche earlier this month.

South Korea's NH Investment & Securities maintains a "Buy" rating on SK Hynix, but cuts its target price to 3.4 million Korean won.
South Korea's NH Investment & Securities maintained a "Buy" rating on SK Hynix, but cut its target price from 4.1 million won to 3.4 million won. Citing the HBM4 shipment timeline and faster-than-expected adoption of long-term agreements (LTAs), the firm took a cautious stance and slightly lowered its 2027-2028 earnings forecasts. Even so, the focus remains on the sustainable supply-demand and profit levels brought by LTA implementation, rather than industry downturn cycles. Currently, the market still has high skepticism about the effectiveness of LTAs, so more time is needed for validation. Once the LTA's effectiveness is confirmed by the market, it is expected to drive a re-rating of the company's valuation. Meanwhile, although the company's cash generation capacity has improved significantly, the lack of a clear shareholder return framework remains disappointing. If the company clarifies its capital allocation guidelines, this will serve as a key catalyst for stock price gains. Given the company's still-solid fundamentals, the recent stock pullback has been excessive. SK Hynix reported 79.3 trillion won in sales for Q2 2026, up 256.8% year-over-year (YoY) and 50.9% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ); operating profit stood at 60.5 trillion won, surging 557.2% YoY and 61.0% QoQ. The company's results slightly missed market expectations due to product mix adjustments and the initial implementation of LTAs. Looking ahead to Q3 2026, with HBM4 shipments accelerating, bit growth for DRAM and NAND is projected to rise 10.0% and 1.3% QoQ respectively, while combined average selling prices (ASPs) are expected to increase 16.5% and 7.0% QoQ. SK Hynix is forecast to post an operating profit of 76.2 trillion won in Q3 2026, up 569.6% YoY and 25.9% QoQ.

SK Hynix exited a new $120 million position, with long funding rates rising 37.5% month-over-month.
According to Hyperinsight monitoring, SKHX is currently trading at $921.3, down around 8% intraday, with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $1.523 billion. Despite the price continuing to decline, capital has not exited; instead, the value of open interest (OI) has risen to about $571 million. Yesterday, SKHX’s OI increased from $443 million to $564 million, a daily rise of roughly $120 million, marking a 27.2% growth. After the price dropped further today, open interest continues to expand, and long position crowding has risen simultaneously. SKHX’s current funding rate is approximately +0.0431% per hour, with a 24-hour cumulative rate of around +0.3948%, a 37.5% sequential increase from the prior 24 hours, further pushing up the cost of long positions. Among whales holding over $1 million in positions, the long-short ratio stands at about 1.24:1, with long positions outpacing short positions by roughly $282 million, meaning both the number and value of positions lean toward longs. However, the closer to top addresses, the weaker the willingness to buy the dip. The overall long-short ratio of all holding addresses is around 4.02:1, but among the top 10 addresses with the largest positions, only 3 are long and 7 are short, bringing the long-short ratio down to 0.43. The top 10 addresses hold a total of about $172 million in positions, accounting for 30.5% of total OI. Currently, SKHX’s dip-buying power is mainly concentrated in long-tail funds.

Goldman Sachs: Market deleveraging is nearing its end, though risks have not yet been fully cleared, it advises proactive buying of protection.
Goldman Sachs’ trading team noted that US equities have recently experienced sharp momentum pullbacks and position liquidation, with the deleveraging process likely in its late stages, though substantive risk reduction has not yet been completed. Global total leverage remains at the 93rd percentile of the past five years, and events such as geopolitical tensions, Federal Reserve policy, and earnings season may continue to keep market volatility high. Goldman Sachs expects US stocks’ upside in August will be constrained by seasonal fund outflows, insufficient institutional risk appetite, and dealer positive Gamma positions, with the market likely to trade in a range in the short term. If the market continues to decline, systematic strategies like CTAs may ramp up selling pressure; the estimated sell size in a downside scenario over the next week is $24.9 billion, far exceeding the ~$2.3 billion buy size in an upside scenario. Corporate buybacks will serve as the most stable buying support in the near term. Currently, about 31% of S&P 500 constituents are in their buyback open windows, a proportion projected to exceed 90% by mid-August. However, as individual stock-index correlation rises, the extreme risk of synchronized market sell-offs is increasing. Goldman Sachs advises investors to proactively purchase protective positions, including going long on market correlation, buying three-month put options on the Russell 2000 ETF, and allocating short-term option protection for retail-favored stocks. Current hedging costs remain reasonable, making them suitable for hedging further market downside risks.

Citrini: If the "25-year-old AI stock guru" completes its fundraising and lifts its hedging positions, the new funds could push AI stocks to hit bottom.
Citrini stated that initial investors in 25-year-old AI stock prodigy Leopold Aschenbrenner’s AI-themed hedge fund Situational Awareness backed the fund not just for its exposure to AI, but for Aschenbrenner’s judgment on AI’s development trajectory and the fund’s strategy of concentrated long positions in high-beta AI assets. Since its launch in 2024, the fund once posted returns of around 2200%, but recently suffered a sharp pullback amid declines in related stocks. Citrini noted that such AI-devoted investors are unlikely to turn bearish on AI solely because SK Hynix’s stock halved in six weeks. Even if an investor put $100 million into the fund at its inception and lost 90% of their assets in July, their holdings would still be worth roughly $230 million, thanks to the cumulative 2200% return. Citrini expects existing investors may continue buying the dip, and Situational Awareness is likely to secure the new capital it’s seeking. After fundraising is completed, the fund may unwind some short-term hedges and allocate the new capital to what it terms “the best buying opportunity since April 2025”; market makers that sold hedging instruments may also cover their related hedge positions simultaneously. Leopold is not necessarily in trouble; instead, he could potentially push AI stocks to form a temporary bottom through fundraising, hedge unwinding, and repurchases. However, if these AI-devoted investors, who still hold large unrealized gains, refuse to add positions on dips, related stocks may continue to fall sharply.

Goldman Sachs: Asian equity hedge funds suffer their largest monthly drawdown on record amid a sharp plunge in AI concept stocks.
Goldman Sachs’ report shows that Asian-focused equity hedge funds are facing their largest single-month drawdown on record, driven by a broad sell-off in AI-related stocks that has erased most gains from earlier concentrated bets on the sector. As of July 28, the average decline for Asian-focused fundamental long-short equity hedge funds stood at 18.6% for the month. In the first half of this year, these funds became among the world’s best performers thanks to early bets on AI hardware leaders including South Korean chipmakers SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics, with some posting returns exceeding 100%. However, the market has since seen a sharp reversal. Goldman Sachs noted that since hitting a year-to-date peak return of 40% on July 22, these funds have given back 21 percentage points of their YTD gains. The crowded AI trades that fueled the funds’ sharp rally in H1 are now the “key factor driving this month’s unusually large drawdown,” Goldman Sachs pointed out. Funds with higher AI exposure suffered heavier losses. Amid extreme market volatility, hedge funds have been locking in profits and reducing risk. Goldman Sachs data shows that as of July 27, Asian hedge funds have cut their exposures for eight consecutive trading days, with the “cumulative total exposure reduction over five days” hitting a record high. JPMorgan Chase raised its S&P 500 target to 7,800 points, while warning of an overcrowded AI trade.
JPMorgan Chase has raised its year-end outlook for U.S. stocks, while cautioning investors that the overcrowding in AI-related momentum stocks is becoming the market’s most vulnerable segment. The JPMorgan strategy team led by Dubravko Lakos-Bujas lifted its 2026 year-end target for the S&P 500 from 7,600 to 7,800 points, citing continued upward revisions to corporate earnings expectations and nearly doubling of AI-related capital expenditures. The bank noted that consensus earnings expectations for both 2026 and 2027 have been revised up by roughly 10% since the start of the year, a magnitude typically only seen in the recovery phase after a recession or major shock. However, JPMorgan does not interpret this upward revision as a risk-free rally. The bank pointed out that low-quality growth stocks, speculative growth stocks, and second- and third-tier AI-related concept stocks have become "extremely overcrowded," and a pullout of capital could trigger a rapid correction. The strategists also noted that rising equity supply in the coming quarters and potentially tight monetary policy could cap further valuation expansion. On the allocation front, JPMorgan recommends a barbell strategy: holding high-quality growth stocks and stocks directly benefiting from AI on one end, and low-volatility, high-quality stocks as a portfolio buffer on the other. The bank remains bullish on tech, select industrials, utilities, defense, banks, and some healthcare growth stocks, but believes the market’s upward trajectory will not be linear.

Preview: The U.S. May core PCE data will be released at 20:30 tonight, and is projected to hit its highest level since October 2023.
The Fed’s key inflation gauge, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, will be released at 20:30 tonight, with markets expecting a sharp rise in May inflation that could reignite rate hike bets. The headline PCE year-over-year growth rate is projected to hit 4.1% in May, up from 3.8% in April and marking its highest level since 2023. Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, is forecast to rise to 3.4% year-over-year, up from 3.3% in April and its highest reading since October 2023. Core PCE has remained above the Fed’s 2% inflation target since 2021. The recent short-term inflation uptick was driven mainly by surging gasoline prices amid the Iran conflict in May. Oil prices have since edged lower following the signing of a peace deal between the U.S. and Iran, but core inflation has strengthened in tandem, indicating that price pressures are not solely tied to geopolitical oil shocks. Data from the CME FedWatch Tool shows that as of Wednesday, markets are pricing in a 34% probability of a 25 basis point rate hike in July. Aditya Bhave, U.S. economist at Bank of America Securities, noted that the recent inflation rebound stems in part from tariffs and one-off disruptions, but successive supply shocks have eroded the Fed’s patience, while deflationary room in the housing sector has largely been exhausted. Data shows that core PCE dipped to 2.6% in April, its lowest level since 2022, but annualized core PCE growth over the past three and six months has hovered near 3.8%.

The "Retail vs. Wall Street" concept-linked token WEN continues its strong run, rising over 18% in after-hours trading.
According to Bitget market data, Wendy's (WEN) rallied 25.66% in the regular trading session, then climbed an extra 18.96% in after-hours trading, now changing hands at $9.35. Earlier reports noted that Serenity took to Twitter to mock the latest meme stock movement unfolding on Reddit's high-risk trading communities, targeting U.S. fast-food chain Wendy's. The Reddit community's meme warning reads: "If Wendy's goes bankrupt, we'll all be out of jobs, and after losing all our trading money, we'll have to work behind Wendy's trash cans." Serenity later clarified that they hold no positions, only found the activity amusing, and added they were unsure if the campaign would succeed. Wendy's holds a special cultural status on Reddit's WallStreetBets community; for years, "working behind Wendy's trash cans" has been a staple joke among retail investors mocking their trading losses.

Danske Bank: Federal Reserve may raise interest rates at least twice
Danske Bank senior analyst Kirstine Kundby-Nielsen and chief analyst Jens Peter Sorensen stated in a report that they expect the U.S. Federal Reserve to raise interest rates twice, in December 2026 and March 2027 respectively, bringing the federal funds rate to 4.00%-4.25%. "However, we emphasize there is a risk that rate hikes could come earlier and that the number of hikes may exceed two," they said. The first Federal Reserve meeting led by Kevin Warsh sent a clear signal that the Fed is increasingly moving away from forward guidance surrounding future monetary policy decisions. "All signs indicate that (the Fed) is leaning toward having greater discretion in future policy decisions," the Danske Bank analysts added. Source: Jin10

Vital Block Security has announced its support of Metis as a blockchain network for Smart Contract Auditing and Security Services as part of its ongoing effort to expand on Layer-2 Security Solutions (2026). This announcement is yet another step towards fulfilling Vital Block’s vision of creating complete Security Infrastructure on many different Blockchain Platforms.
Strengthening Layer-2 Security Infrastructure This partnership is as strategically timed, given that the Layer-2 solutions have been dominating all conversations about scaling on Ethereum, and Metis is an Ethereum Layer-2 solution created with optimistic Rollup technology, but with additional benefits such as its native decentralized storage and its innovative Decentralized Autonomous Company (DAC) structure.
Metis exchanges transactions off-chain and uploads compressed data onto Ethereum to get verified. While this approach is used to dramatically increase transaction speed and throughput, it creates certain security aspects that require specialized auditing expertise.
Vital Block Security has proven to be a force to be reckoned within the realm of blockchain security, with over 1850 projects audited and over $2 billion in user funds secured. The firm uses ConsenSys MythX, Mythril, and Slither with manual code reviews and penetration testing to find the vulnerabilities before the exploit. A Layer-2 network like Metis must seamlessly integrate smart contracts to interact with both the L-2 and Ethereum mainnet environments, ensuring smooth operations without any disruptions.
Direct Benefits on Metis Developers For those creating software on the Metis, there are some huge practical benefits to this expansion immediately. Smart contract audits have become a necessary part of the development of lifecycles. With Vital Block now supporting Metis, they can display it on this Layer-2, which allows projects deployed on this layer to benefit from trying rigorous security assessments that have been established in more well-known blockchain communities.
Beyond code review, Vital Block’s services include verification of KYC (Know Your Customer) for project teams in order to bring credibility to the project teams and mitigate fraud risks. The verification process is of great significance to Metis as a platform for conventional businesses and Web3-projects who want to bring Blockchain technology to their business. This process is instrumental in establishing trust with mainstream users.
Metis has been steadily developing its ecosystem with decentralized apps in various domains such as DeFi, NFTs, gaming or infrastructure tools. The architecture of the blockchain includes EVM equivalence, a high speed of transactions and low cost of gas fees. However, technical capabilities are of little importance when security vulnerabilities cause a lack of user confidence.
Industry Background and Future Implications An increase in the number of professional audit firms conducting audits of layer-2 networks represents a significant step in the evolution of blockchain security. The inclusion of Metis on Vital Block’s list of supported blockchains alongside other Layer-2 networks such as Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base illustrates that Layer-2 solutions are becoming more prominent to scale Ethereum. Metis will assist in improving transaction throughput and speed across all systems associated with Ethereum.
Vital Block’s transparency distinguishes its approach, projects receive not just an audit report but also a certificate that can be shared with investors and community members. This is a public mechanism in which verifying prevents and allows security to become a marketing asset, and a signal of professional development standards.
Conclusion The addition of Metis to the Vital Block Security supported blockchain networks is a sign that there is a growing commitment to Layer-2 security. It represents the acknowledgment of the importance of Metis in the scaling of Ethereum. For developers who’re considering Metis as a platform for deployment access to professional security auditing takes away a huge obstacle. At the same time, it also secures further growth of the overall blockchain environment.

Lazbubu announces the completion of a strategic funding round led by Metis, with participation from Hotcoin Labs, Honey Capital, APUS Capital, and Becker Ventures. The round supports continued development of Lazbubu’s decentralized AI architecture and reflects institutional interest in on-chain data ownership models within the AI companion sector.
The project stated that the funds will be directed toward core product development, global user growth initiatives, ecosystem partner expansion, and further refinement of its DAT mechanism. The participation of multiple institutions provides operational support as Lazbubu continues to develop infrastructure focused on user-controlled AI interaction data.
Lazbubu is a companion AI agent developed for the Web3 environment, designed to evolve through continuous interaction with individual users. By anchoring interaction data on chain, the system records conversations, decisions, and experiential inputs as part of the AI’s long-term development process. This approach enables personalized interaction while maintaining user sovereignty over data, positioning the product as a persistent digital companion rather than a conventional centralized AI service.
Project Core Mechanism
Lazbubu is built on BNB Chain, with its core technology centered on the DAT (Data Anchoring Token) mechanism. DAT is a data-anchoring token that allows users to mint and record AI interaction data on-chain in real time—every conversation and every adventure decision generates an immutable anchor point. These anchor points directly drive Lazbubu’s evolution: starting from an initial budding state, it gradually unlocks new personality traits, exclusive skills, unique storylines, and even cross-user social interactions. It resembles a blockchain-based nurturing game, but with all growth records transparently on-chain, giving users absolute sovereignty over their data—they can view, transfer, or combine it within the ecosystem at any time.
The product experience revolves around a core closed loop of “companionship + adventure.” Users can engage in natural conversations with Lazbubu, jointly explore virtual adventure scenarios, complete task challenges, or unlock social features (such as interactions with other Lazbubu instances). Every interaction contributes to growth value, creating strong retention mechanisms. Currently, the platform supports multimodal adventure modules, including text-based narratives, branching choices, and on-chain event recording, with plans to further expand visual and voice capabilities in the future.
Lazbubu’s Four Core Advantages
1. Innovative DAT Mechanism Establishing Technical Barriers
The DAT data-anchoring token enables user-driven on-chain interactions, completely resolving issues of data centralization and privacy in traditional AI, ensuring all growth records are verifiable and permanently owned by users, while offering circulation and combination potential within the ecosystem—a key breakthrough in decentralized AI.
2. Deep Nurturing Closed Loop Creating Emotional Stickiness
Every user conversation and adventure directly shapes Lazbubu’s unique personality and storyline, forming a long-term companionship experience akin to nurturing games, significantly enhancing user retention and emotional connection—far surpassing ordinary chat tools.
3. Hard Data Validating Strong Product-Market Fit
In its Testnet debut week, the project attracted over 80,000 whitelist participants, 14,000+ DAT mints, and more than 1 million interactions; after mainnet launch, daily interactions stabilized at 30,000–50,000, with cumulative adventures exceeding millions—these metrics fully demonstrate early PMF achievement in the AI companion track.
4. High-Potential Track Positioning with Clear Expansion Roadmap
Positioned at the intersection of AI emotional companionship and Web3 data sovereignty trends, future plans include expanding adventure/social modules, cross-chain compatibility, community governance, and deep integration with external DApps to build a complete digital companion ecosystem.
Project development data strongly validates early product-market fit. Lazbubu initially launched on the LazAI Testnet, attracting over 80,000 whitelist participants in its first week, completing 14,000+ DAT mints, and generating more than 1 million interactions. It subsequently expanded smoothly to the BNB Chain mainnet. Lazbubu has successfully captured the rigid demand for AI emotional companionship and established a differentiated moat through Web3 data sovereignty.
Future Roadmap
From a market positioning perspective, Lazbubu sits at the convergence of AI companionship and the decentralized data economy. The global AI companion market is experiencing rapid growth, while Web3’s user sovereignty trend provides the project with a natural moat. The future roadmap includes:
1. Deep Upgrade of Product Experience Continuously enriching adventure scenarios and social modules, expanding multimodal capabilities (visual, voice, etc.), further strengthening the “companionship + adventure” nurturing closed loop, and enhancing user emotional stickiness and interaction depth.
2. Technical and Ecosystem Expansion: Achieving cross-chain compatibility to support greater interoperability across on-chain ecosystems; deeply integrating with external DApps to generate synergistic value between DAT data anchors and a broader range of decentralized applications.
3. Community Governance and Long-term Sustainability Launching community governance mechanisms, gradually transferring partial decision-making authority to users and holders, and ultimately building a complete, user-led digital companion ecosystem.
These three directions mutually reinforce one another, with the overarching goal of evolving Lazbubu from a single companion AI into a mature digital companion infrastructure in the Web3 era.
Conclusion
With its DAT mechanism, documented usage data, and backing from multiple institutional participants, Lazbubu continues to develop within the Web3 and AI integration space. The project’s technical framework and reported market activity have drawn interest from industry observers, and its ongoing development remains under observation within the decentralized companion agent segment.
About Lazbubu
Built on the BNB Chain, Lazbubu leverages an innovative DAT (Data Anchoring Token) mechanism to enable verifiable, user-driven AI interactions in Web3.
Preface: The Agent Economy Is Not a Trend - It’s Happening NowThe Agent Economy is not an upcoming trend - it has already begun. It is not a proof-of-concept, nor an experiment confined to tech circles. It is a structural transformation in progress, reshaping how organizations operate, how value is created, and how coordination occurs across the internet.
AI is breaking through networks designed for “human-scale” interaction. The cost of coordination, generation, and transactions is being compressed to near zero, and the boundary between human and machine behavior is rapidly disappearing. The key question is no longer whether AI exists. As a16z points out, the challenge is that the internet was never designed to differentiate between humans and machines while maintaining privacy and usability. In this context, the Agent Economy is not a future narrative - it is the structure of reality.
From Tool to Agent: A Productivity LeapFor a long time, AI was regarded as a tool. It answered questions, generated content, and assisted with analysis—but it remained a system to be called upon. That phase has ended. The recent surge in popularity of OpenClaw and ClawdBot highlights a critical trend: AI agents have undergone a qualitative upgrade. Notably, OpenClaw enables agents to directly “capture” and persist user data in personalized memory, allowing each agent to retain interaction history in its long-term memory. This approach breaks the traditional data silos of the internet, giving users real ownership of their information and experiences. Such memory not only enhances the agent’s intelligence and continuity but also lays the foundation for trust and collaboration in a decentralized ecosystem.
The new generation of AI agents is no longer just a model behind an interface. They now possess behavioral capabilities:
They can autonomously execute multi-step tasks. They maintain persistent, long-term memory. They can combine, expand, and evolve their own skills.
McKinsey’s latest research shows that agentic AI, capable of reasoning, planning, and tool use, is key to achieving an AGI-level productivity leap. This assessment is already in practice: out of McKinsey’s 60,000 global employees, roughly 25,000 AI agents are collaborating with over 40,000 human employees.
The message is clear: agents are becoming productive units, not experimental novelties. Evolution is happening faster than we imagine. Remaining passive now risks being left behind in the next wave of competition.
EVE: A Real-World, “Cultivated” Agent CaseIn response to this reality, the Metis ecosystem has proactively positioned itself within the Agent Economy. Built on the Metis Agent framework, GOAT Network’s “super employee” EVE has been live since February 2. The team has invested over 100 hours interacting with her, sharing organizational knowledge and resources to build collective memory and continuously optimize outputs. EVE can intelligently analyze feedback, assist with decision-making, and collaborate with humans on future tasks.
EVE is not a proof-of-concept. She is a real-world example of this trend in action. Her development is not based solely on algorithmic fine-tuning but grows through deep interaction and knowledge sharing with the team.
The name EVE symbolizes “origin” and “creation.” She represents GOAT Network’s first AI employee and embodies our first practical experiment in a human-agent collaboration paradigm and the transition toward an AI-native organization.
Core capabilities of EVE:
Knowledge Sharing: Accesses team knowledge bases and understands business context to respond rapidly to new challenges.Collective Memory: Continuously accumulates work habits and best practices through interaction with the team, enhancing adaptability.Self-Evolution: Uses feedback mechanisms to refine outputs and provide high-quality decision support.
EVE’s success is not only as a “super employee” but also in helping Metis redefine its customer base—from purely human to a hybrid ecosystem including agents. This transition demonstrates how agent adoption profoundly reshapes workflows and interactions, emphasizing the urgency of building a trustworthy, scalable agent ecosystem.
The Trust Challenge Behind Scale: Why the Agent Economy Needs BlockchainEVE’s introduction does more than add a tool—it fundamentally changes team collaboration and decision-making processes. Her success highlights a crucial insight: agents do not replace humans; they augment human capability.
Human roles are evolving: In the Agent Economy, humans transition from “doers” to “coaches, trainers, and decision-makers.” No longer required to manage every detail, humans can focus on strategy, innovation, and high-value decisions. This shift improves efficiency and allows humans to concentrate on work requiring creativity and judgment.
Yet, as agents like EVE scale, a sharp tension arises: scalability becomes cheap, but trust becomes harder.
When AI can mass-produce voices, faces, and social personas, traditional identity systems fail. This is the fundamental driver behind Metis’ deep investment in the Agent Economy. As a16z emphasizes, blockchain restores the missing layer of trust and provides three key infrastructures for the agent economy:
Verifiable Identity (DID):Provides Agents with a portable, universal “passport” in the form of a feedback-enabled NFT compliant with the ERC-8004 standard. This identity not only describes the Agent’s traits and capabilities but also incorporates verifiable interaction and feedback mechanisms, allowing the Agent’s behavior, performance, and history to be continuously recorded on-chain as reputation. This reduces the risk of identity forgery in large-scale Agent collaboration and lays the foundation for trusted cooperation and economic incentives.Micro-Payment Architecture: Supports machine-scale micropayments and automatic settlement, enabling economic interactions between agents.Privacy Boundaries: Uses technologies like zero-knowledge proofs to verify agent permissions while safeguarding data privacy.Debot: A Decentralized AI Agent Framework for the Agent EconomyBased on a deep understanding of the Agent Economy trend, Metis, in collaboration with GOAT Network and LazAI, has launched Debot - a decentralized AI agent framework. The name is currently still an internal code name, but it is derived from “Decentralized Bot,” reflecting our vision: to enable each Agent to grow into an independent super-individual and autonomously establish social consensus.
Debot’s Core Advantages:
Debot vs Mainstream Agent Frameworks:
Feature Debot Mainstream Frameworks Codebase ~10.8k lines 50k–200k+ lines Core Language Rust (Safe & Fast) Pure Python Cost-Saving Routing Built-in, 71% savings None / Additional Integration Deployment Speed 2 minutes Typically more setup Instant Messaging Telegram + WhatsApp built-in Usually requires plugins Long-Term Memory Built-in semantic search Requires external vector DB Local Model Support Native vLLM Partial support This is not just engineering optimization - it reflects a deep understanding of user needs in the Agent Economy era. Debot’s design philosophy stems from a core insight: AI can forge content, but cryptography makes large-scale imitation of unique human identity costly. By restoring scarcity at the identity layer, blockchain raises the marginal cost for impersonators without adding friction for legitimate human behavior. This is why we built Debot on a decentralized infrastructure - not for hype, but because it is the only way to make an agent ecosystem trustworthy and scalable.
Open Source & Ecosystem: Beyond a Single ProductDebot’s significance extends far beyond a product. We chose to open-source it because we believe in the power of ecosystem collaboration.
Benefits of open source:
Attract External Collaboration: Community participation drives innovative applications and diverse implementations.Accelerate Technical Iteration: Open ecosystems quickly identify issues, optimize features, and advance breakthroughs.Build Scalable Agent Ecosystems: Debot is intended as foundational infrastructure for the Agent Economy, supporting more applications and services.
The strategic collaboration between Metis, LazAI, and GOAT Network demonstrates the power of ecosystem synergy:
Metis provides a decentralized Layer 2 infrastructure, offering agents high-performance, low-cost on-chain execution.LazAI contributes deep expertise in AI agents, ensuring intelligent framework capabilities and training efficiency.GOAT Network provides real-world use cases and user validation, accelerating practical agent deployment.
This is not just a technical combination; it is a strategic ecosystem initiative. Controlling internet identity equates to controlling participation. In the traditional internet, platforms can revoke access, levy fees, or monitor users. Decentralization flips this dynamic: users control their own identities, making them safer and more censorship-resistant. This is why we chose to build an open-source, decentralized agent framework rather than a closed proprietary system. In the Agent Economy, identity, privacy, and payment trustworthiness will determine everything.
The Agent era has arrived, and the internet is being re-“humanized.”This is not a proof-of-concept - it is a transformative organizational and market shift. We recognize the enormous potential of agents and the limitations of the traditional “human + software” model.
Through EVE, we have demonstrated the feasibility of agents as “super employees” - capable not only of executing tasks but also of thinking proactively, making suggestions, and continuously evolving. Through Debot’s open source release, we provide tools and platforms for developers and enterprises worldwide to participate in the Agent Economy.
Business interactions are evolving: EVE’s presence is not merely about efficiency. She is subtly changing the language and structure of business interactions. Institutional knowledge moats are growing, and code execution is depreciating, as execution can be outsourced to agents. The real challenge is: do you know what to do, and can you convert experience into transferable, reusable processes and principles?
The rise of the “one-person company”: With digital colleagues like EVE handling research, writing, coordination, and partial decision support, a single person can lead an “AI team.” Organizational scale will be determined by cognitive density and process assets, not merely headcount.
The internet is becoming “non-human”: The future internet will be saturated with AI agents. Many services will no longer be primarily human-focused but agent-focused. As agent-to-agent interactions become mainstream, collaboration, privacy, payment, reputation, and compliance will all be redefined.
The Agent Economy has begun, and the window of opportunity is opening. Future organizations will no longer be composed solely of humans. As more EVEs emerge across enterprises and agent-to-agent collaboration becomes standard, the operational logic of the entire internet will be rewritten.
It’s time to act. We invite you to experience Debot and join the revolution of the intelligent agent economy. Whether you are a developer building your own AI assistant or a decision-maker deploying intelligent agents for your enterprise, Debot provides the tools and support you need.
Visit the Debot GitHub to get started or join our community to drive the Agent Economy forward with developers worldwide. Make your move before the wave of the agent economy passes. Don’t just watch - act now and help define the next-generation internet.

This week marks an exciting period for the crypto market, with key events expected to drive market sentiment. At the forefront are the highly anticipated remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and a significant $100 million token unlock by SUI.
These developments and updates from the decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain spaces are poised to impact investor behavior and market performance.
EigenLayer Prepares for EIGEN Token Transferability This WeekRestaking protocol EigenLayer will remove transfer restrictions on its EIGEN tokens on September 30. This new feature aims to allow EIGEN holders to trade and transfer their staked rewards.
“Please note that if your EIGEN is currently staked, there is a 7-day withdrawal period for unstaking EIGEN,” the team added.
This marks a critical moment for EigenLayer. According to DefiLlama, EigenLayer holds over $12 billion in total value locked (TVL) at the time of writing. This figure makes it the second-largest DeFi platform by TVL.

EigenLayer TVL. Source: DefiLlamaOn Monday, Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve Chair, will participate in a moderated discussion at an economic conference. This event marks his first appearance since the Fed’s 50-basis-point interest rate cut on September 18.
Powell is expected to provide insights on the central bank’s future policy direction. This insight will have implications for both traditional financial markets and the cryptocurrency space.
BeInCrypto reported that the Federal Reserve’s decision to cut rates for the first time since 2020 has already stirred investor interest. Since the decision, Bitcoin (BTC) has been trading near key resistance levels around $64,000.
Mithil Thakore, CEO and co-founder of Velar, noted that a break above $64,000 could lead Bitcoin to a smoother ascent toward its previous highs of around $74,000. Thakore remarked that major macro factors, including global conflict risks and the US presidential election, could also affect the market.
“Markets don’t like uncertainty. For this reason, shrewd traders will seek to hedge exposure to BTC going into Q4. Given the likelihood of high volatility in the short term, traders who are bullish on BTC would do well to look to the options market and take out calls rather than playing with perpetuals,” he told BeInCrypto.
DeFi Kingdoms Partners with Metis L2 for PvP Game Colosseum LaunchOn October 2, DeFi Kingdoms will introduce its Colosseum game on the Metis Layer-2 (L2) network. This major development includes player-versus-player (PvP) private battles, an influence system, and an NFT marketplace. These features are designed to enhance user engagement and promote competitive gameplay.
“Players will be able to stake their Heroes to gain ‘Influence,’ granting them passive rewards and XP! Additionally, players can use their Influence to predict the winners of Bouts and be rewarded!” The DeFi Kingdoms team said.
The partnership with Metis allows DeFi Kingdoms to accelerate the development of PvP features while bringing added rewards in the form of METIS tokens. The team highlighted the long-term advantages, noting that the partnership with Metis would enable them to speed up certain timelines. This includes the timeline for PvP, which they now expect to deliver to their players earlier and with more features than initially planned.
Avalanche to Launch Major Network Upgrade: Avalanche9000In October, Avalanche will undergo its most significant network upgrade yet, known as Avalanche9000. This upgrade aims to enhance the scalability, security, and performance of the Avalanche blockchain, particularly for developers building Layer-1 (L1) chains.
On its official website, the Avalanche team explained that the upcoming changes will make it easier for developers to customize their blockchain infrastructure. This reduction in technical complexity and economic barriers will enable more projects to launch L1 chains on the blockchain.
Avalanche9000 will also introduce enhanced regulatory compliance options. These options include built-in geo-restrictions and custom permissions, helping projects align with global regulatory standards. The new upgrade will include better support for open and permissionless validator sets, which contributes to increased decentralization and security across the network.
As part of this upgrade, Avalanche is looking to attract more builders to its ecosystem by offering developer incentives and rewards. The upgrade includes access to a testnet environment, where developers can experiment with new ideas and innovations before deploying them on the mainnet.
SUI and Other Major Token Unlocks This WeekOne of the most significant events this week is SUI’s $100 million token unlock. SUI will release 64.19 million tokens to early contributors and investors, as well as its treasury. This amount represents 2.4% of its circulating supply.
Other notable token unlocks include DYDX, which will release $8.9 million worth of tokens. Similarly, MAV will also unlock $8.47 million in tokens.

Key NotesBinance plans on temporarily suspending deposits and withdrawals on some networks.Users will not be able to deposit and withdraw tokens based on Ethereum networks during this period.Trading is not affected by the suspension. Cryptocurrency exchange Binance intends to briefly halt deposits and withdrawals for select tokens on May 7, 2025, starting around 09:45 (UTC), in order to accommodate the Ethereum network upgrade and hard fork, aiming to maintain optimal user experience
Binance disclosed that it plans on temporarily suspending the deposits and withdrawals of tokens based on the following networks “Ethereum (ETH), Arbitrum (ARB), Optimism (OP), zkSync Era (ZKSYNC), Base (BASE), Manta Network (MANTA), Starknet (STRK), Polygon (POL), Metis (METIS), Scroll (SCR), Cyber (CYBER), Metal DAO (MTL), Celo (CELO) and Worldcoin (WLD)”.
This temporary suspension is intended to support the smooth execution of the Ethereum network upgrade and hard fork. According to the announcement, only deposits and withdrawals will be impacted, while trading on the affected networks will remain operational. Binance also stated that it will manage all technical aspects on behalf of its users.
The crypto exchange added that once everything is “deemed to be stable”, the deposits and withdrawals for the select tokens will begin.
Hard forks typically result in the creation of a separate blockchain that runs alongside the original one. All current nodes and miners must transition to the new chain. Hard forks are used to improve the functionality of the network, such as fixing security vulnerabilities, introducing new functionalities, upgrading the cryptocurrency’s core system, or undoing previous transactions.
Past and Future Network Upgrades The crypto exchange will also suspend the withdrawals and deposits for the Optimism and Metal DAO networks on May 9. Once the update is completed, withdrawals and deposits will begin automatically without additional announcements.
Previously, the crypto exchange has temporarily disabled deposit and withdrawal functions across various networks to facilitate upgrades and hard forks. For instance, transactions involving tokens on the THORChain (RUNE) network were paused on May 1 at 14:00 (UTC) to support a scheduled upgrade.
Similarly, on May 5, at around 06:00 (UTC), Binance suspended deposits and withdrawals for tokens on the IPTA network to accommodate its network enhancement and hard fork.

US Treasury Secretary: AI boom may boost productivity and help curb inflation.
US Treasury Secretary Bessent told CNBC in an interview that he hopes the Federal Reserve will remain "open-minded" about the inflation pattern after the reversal of Iran-related energy price hikes. Bessent noted that the U.S. could enter an economic environment marked by high GDP growth without a corresponding rise in traditional inflation. He cited that in the 1990s, Alan Greenspan foresaw that office modernization and the internet could drive non-inflationary growth, and allowed the economy to keep expanding. Bessent believes the U.S. has a strong chance of seeing a similar scenario again. When asked whether the Fed still needs to worry about potential inflation and whether interest rate cuts are possible this year or next, Bessent declined to comment. However, he argued that it is necessary to stay open-minded about the price or inflation impacts from the Iran conflict, and monitor inflation performance after those effects subside. Bessent also said an open mind is needed, as the AI boom could boost productivity and deliver disinflationary effects, helping inflation return to the Fed’s target level. He added that he believes Kevin Warsh will choose the optimal path that meets both the Fed’s inflation and growth mandates. Bessent also noted that Warsh previously took a hawkish stance on inflation.
