CoinGecko News
Original source text
AIBC World in Rome has named Avalanche, Litecoin, Dash, TRON and Zano as nominees for Best Layer-1 Blockchain. Here is what to know about the award and the event.

Five blockchains have been nominated for "Best Layer-1 Blockchain" at the AIBC World awards in Rome. The shortlist includes Avalanche (@Avax $AVAX), Litecoin (@Litecoin $LTC), Dash (@Dashpay $DASH), TRON (@trondao $TRX) and Zano (@zano_project). The organiser, @AIBC_World, has not published an explanation of why these five were chosen.

What the award coversAccording to AIBC's awards page, the Layer-1 category . The same page sets out a process that has previously included open nominations and self-nominations, a public and judge vote on a shortlist, and a final awards night.

It is unclear whether the same process was used for the Rome shortlist, as no selection criteria have been published for this round. The five nominees differ widely in design and focus, which makes direct comparison difficult. Avalanche is a smart contract platform, while Litecoin and Dash are payment-focused networks that trace their origins to Bitcoin's early years.

Avalanche has some history with the organiser. in Dubai in February.

About AIBC World in Rome at Fiera Roma.

Industry awards of this kind are typically a marketing and networking exercise as much as a measure of technical merit, so the outcome should not be read as a ranking of network quality. Winners are due to be announced at the ceremony during the November event.

Which of the five do you think deserves the prize?

Litecoin price rebounds 5% as ETF assets double to $14M
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin [LTC] ETFs spent most of the year getting the odd visitor or two. Lately, there’s been many more.

Is this the start of something, or just a good few weeks? Let’s look.

Litecoin ETF assets have doubled to $14 million
For most of the year, Litecoin ETFs were fairly quiet.

SoSoValue data showed a few big days early on, like the roughly $2 million that came in around mid-January. After that, it was mostly scattered. A small inflow here, a small outflow there, with weeks of nothing in between.

Total net assets drifted between about $5 million and $7 million for months.

Then, late September changed things.

Source: SoSoValue
Inflows landed almost every day; the biggest one came close to $1.4 million. That’s the most consistent run these funds have had since they launched.

Total net assets shot up to around $15 million at the peak. While it has fallen since, they’re 2x where they were in the summer.

Notably, after a few flat days, Canary’s Litecoin ETF [LTCC] saw $581,140 in inflows on the 19th.

There could be more company soon. Grayscale has also been pursuing the conversion of its existing Litecoin Trust into an exchange-traded fund, although the process has yet to be completed.

Litecoin price punches up, futures traders lean long
LTC got a nice push on the 20th, going up about 5% in a day. At the time of writing, it was at $61.35.

While a step below the late-September high of $75, it’s still a decent climb from mid-October slip down to $57.

RSI was near neutral, at 47.6 during press time. MACD was negative, though the red bars are evidently shrinking. A crossover isn’t a far off possibility.

Source: TradingView
Futures traders seem to be on board. Open Interest [OI] dropped to about $213 million on the 18th, then went back to $229 million. Funding was also positive at 0.0058%.

Source: Coinalyze
Getting back above $65 would help.

Final Summary

Litecoin ETF assets doubled to about $14 million after a late-September inflow run.
Litecoin price jumped about 5%, futures funding also looks positive.

SHRMiner, a global leader in cryptocurrency cloud mining services, has launched a new cryptocurrency mining service under its innovative cloud mining brand.

Positioned as a next-generation platform, SHRMiner embraces the philosophy of “Simple Mining, Smart Earnings,” aiming to make industrial-grade cryptocurrency mining accessible to everyone through transparent, cost-effective, and user-friendly solutions, regardless of their experience level.

The initiative provides direct access to real, reliable, industrial-grade computing power for Bitcoin (BTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE), while also integrating Litecoin (LTC) mining capabilities. All computing resources are sourced from leading industry partners.

This collaborative initiative brings together world-class partners specializing in Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining hardware manufacturing, mining operations, and energy optimization to create a professionally managed, integrated ecosystem.

For retail users, this approach delivers several key advantages, including transparent pricing without intermediary markups and an efficient, direct supply chain. By shifting access to computing power away from institutional control and back to the community, SHRMiner offers one of the industry’s simplest approaches to cryptocurrency mining, giving everyone a fair opportunity to participate in the core infrastructure of the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

SHRMiner operates on a robust infrastructure supported by 300 MW to 2 GW of verifiable global power resources, enabling immediate activation and seamless operations.

Its initial computing capacity includes more than 10 EH/s of live Bitcoin mining power—equivalent to 10,000 PH/s or 10,000,000 TH/s—along with 200 TH/s of Dogecoin/Litecoin mining power, representing approximately 10% of the total Dogecoin network hashrate. The platform also provides auditable data and public monitoring to support reliable contract fulfillment.

These figures continue to grow as the platform adds thousands of state-of-the-art hydro-cooled mining machines each month.

“We are incredibly proud to launch SHRMiner, a platform designed to make cryptocurrency mining opportunities more accessible and equitable,” said Brayan Palmero, Chief Operating Officer of SHRMiner.

“Users can rent real computing power from professionally operated mining facilities and receive automatically settled daily mining rewards, eliminating the complexities of purchasing hardware, managing energy consumption, and maintaining mining equipment.

This low-barrier approach is ideal for individuals who want to participate consistently in cryptocurrency mining but lack the necessary technical resources, helping them pursue sustainable wealth accumulation.”

How to get started with SHRMiner Bitcoin mining Getting started with Bitcoin mining takes just three simple steps:

1. Register an account – Create an account to receive a $20 welcome bonus and earn $1.00 in daily rewards through a free trial mining contract. (Click here to register.)

2. Choose a cloud mining contract – Select from a range of popular short-term and long-term cloud mining contracts, with durations ranging from 1 to 50 days.

Litecoin falls 2% to $59.90 as traders watch key $59 support zone
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin (LTC) faces renewed selling pressure, with its price sliding to $59.90 after a 2.11% drop in the past 24 hours. Traders are closely monitoring whether the cryptocurrency can maintain its position above the critical $59 support level following a period of heightened volatility and weakened momentum.

Approaching critical support: price levels to watchRecent price action shows Litecoin retreating from its late September high above $70, slipping under the $64.45 mark, which had served as a key support during its previous climb. Technical analysis points to the $59–$59.40 level as a pivotal area, with the asset currently trading near the lower band of the 20-day Bollinger Band at $59.39.

While holding above this zone could allow LTC to consolidate and aim for a recovery toward $63, a daily close below it may trigger further declines, putting the next significant support at $54.18. A sustained rebound would require LTC to first recapture $63 and then test resistance at $64.45, before targeting the middle Bollinger Band line at $67.07.

Price LevelRole$59–$59.40Immediate support$63Short-term recovery target$64.45Key resistance$67.07Middle Bollinger Band$54.18Lower support if breakdown continuesMomentum indicators, derivatives data signal uncertaintyOn the daily timeframe, Litecoin’s relative strength index (RSI) sits at 40.29, well below its moving average of 56.21, suggesting that buying momentum has faded after September’s rally. Despite remaining above the typical oversold threshold of 30, its downward path points to sellers predominantly steering the market. Traders typically view a return above 50 on the RSI as an early sign of bullish momentum re-emerging.

Litecoin’s RSI trending below its average value points to diminished buying pressure, with sellers currently commanding the market. Recovery signs are likely to appear only if the RSI can climb back above 50.

Speculative activity in derivatives markets has also cooled. Data from CoinGlass shows open interest for Litecoin surged in late September, peaking near $700 million as LTC rallied toward the $70–$72 range. By October 14, open interest fell to roughly $550 million, tracking the coin’s price decline and signaling that traders are closing positions and reducing exposure.

Open interest alone does not distinguish between bullish and bearish bets. However, an increase in open interest paired with a price recovery may indicate a return of market participants, while increasing open interest amid further price drops could suggest growing bearish positioning.

Mini dictionary: Open interest — the total value of outstanding futures or options contracts in the derivatives market. Rising open interest can indicate growing market participation or increasing leverage, while falling open interest may signal traders are closing positions.

Community engagement and network activityThe Litecoin Foundation has recently highlighted its Proof of Time initiative, inviting users to share their personal cryptocurrency stories from various blockchain communities. While the campaign seeks to boost engagement across the Litecoin ecosystem, there is currently no evidence linking it directly to price moves.

Network metrics tracked by DeFiLlama provide additional insights. Daily activity generally hovers around $1 million, but the platform’s blue TVL line has trended downward since late September. While these metrics offer a broader context for LTC’s performance, recent data does not present a conclusive shift in network demand. Activity values should be distinguished from the separate scales used for transaction and active-address counts.

Despite ongoing participation on the network, lower price levels and declining TVL suggest a possible cooling in both speculative and user activity.

The near-term outlook for Litecoin depends on buyers’ willingness to defend the $59–$59.40 support region. A bounce back above $63 would turn attention to $64.45 and potentially toward $67.07, with renewed buying and stronger indicators required before any sustained recovery can be confirmed.

LTC: 15 Years of Litecoin & 15 Milestones
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
15 Years of Litecoin & 15 MilestonesOnly two crypto have achieved fifteen years of activity: Bitcoin, and now Litecoin.

Since Litecoin launched on 13 October 2011, Coinmarketcap has estimated more than 60 million cryptocurrencies have appeared. Among former ‘Top 100’ projects, Cryptorank’s research shows only 71.9% still exist, and even fewer remain active. Meanwhile, Litecoin has never left the leaderboard. Ever. While market cap ranking is one way to measure Litecoin’s success, there’s so much more to the project’s 15 year history. And this piece celebrates 15 milestones that have had a profound impact on the space, the project, and Litecoin’s users.

Happy 15 Years, Litecoin. Here’s to many more!

1. 2011: Litecoin's fair launchCharlie Lee, aka coblee, announced Litecoin on BitcoinTalk in October 2011.
‍

Charlie Lee, aka coblee, announces 'a lite version of Bitcoin'. Source: BitcoinTalk‍

Earlier that month Lee had settled on the project’s positioning as a ‘lite’ version of Bitcoin, and quickly landed on a suitable name: Litecoin. On 4th October 2011, Lee registered five domains - including Litecoin.org and Litecoin.com - on CrazyDomains for $38.85. Eventual Ethereum co-creator, Vitalik Buterin, wasn’t a fan of the name, though.
‍

Unlike other projects to that point, the intent was for Litecoin’s launch to be as fair as possible. With that in mind, the source code and binaries were released four days before launch so anyone could download them, compile the software, and get set up in advance. Even Litecoin’s go-live date/time was voted on by the community. With 42.9% of the 91 voters opting for 03:00 GMT on Thursday 13 October 2011.

To avoid speculation of a pre-mine ahead of public release, Lee took a leaf from Satoshi’s playbook and placed a timely headline into the Coinbase data of Litecoin’s genesis block.

Coinbase data of Litecoin’s genesis block read: @NY Times 05/Oct/2011 Steve Jobs, Apple’s Visionary, Dies at 56. ‍

No question, Litecoin had pulled off the fairest crypto launch to that point. Maybe ever? Think about it: of the 60 million cryptocurrencies, how many launched without an ICO, VC-backing, founder stash or massive pre-mine? How many projects let the community decide when to launch, or released candidates ahead of time to ensure equal mining opportunity from the jump?

Litecoin had the fairest, most decentralized and transparent launch in history.

‍

2014: Litecoin and Dogecoin begin merged miningIn December 2013, Dogecoin launched as a fork of Litecoin. Almost immediately, Dogecoin faced network security issues due to shallow, fluctuating hashrate. By mid-2014, Charlie Lee proposed a potential solution. One that would not just strengthen Dogecoin, but Litecoin too. So Lee reached out to Doge’s community on reddit to outline the concept and benefits of LTC/DOGE merged mining:
‍

Fortunately for all, Lee’s proposal was well-received by the Doge community, and Dogecoin adopted AuxPoW on 11th September 2014. Chains didn’t merge. Project rules and block histories remained independent. So what changed? Miners could now reuse the same proof-of-work to help secure both Dogecoin and Litecoin networks.
‍

Dogecoin & Litecoin. Source: of much Wow.
If this merged-mining milestone never happened would we still have Doge? Or Litecoin!? Thankfully common sense prevailed over tribalism, and both projects are thriving more than a decade later.

‍

3. 2015–2023: Three halvings. No committee required.Litecoin is programmed to experience a halving roughly every four years.

On 2nd August 2023 Litecoin’s third successful halving saw miner rewards reduced from 12.5 Litecoin to 6.25 Litecoin. So why celebrate miners getting their reward cut in half? Put simply, each Litecoin halving acts as a self-deflationary mechanism. Ensuring that Litecoin’s fixed supply of 84 million becomes more scarce over time by halving the amount of new coins introduced into circulation approx. every four years.

The concept can be challenging to get your head around. We made a short visual explainer on halvings and their importance in the ongoing success of Litecoin and other proof-of-work (PoW) projects. It’s short and great if you’re a visual learner:
‍

‍

Litecoin’s fourth halving will take place in late July 2027, reducing coin issuance to 3.125 LTC per block mined. And while Litecoin Foundation was established to help maintain and grow Litecoin, the non-profit has no control over block halvings. Every facet of Litecoin’s future coin issuance - including halving dates / block height, and reward amounts - was written into the codebase fifteen years ago. Back in early October, 2011. Which is mind-blowing, given these halvings will continue until 2142. At which point Litecoin’s entire fixed supply of 84 million will be issued and circulating.

4. 2017: The Litecoin Foundation is incorporatedIn 2017, Litecoin Foundation was formally incorporated in Singapore. And in mid-2022, the non-profit achieved 501(c)(3) status - allowing U.S citizens to make tax-deductible contributions.

From the outset, the Foundation’s mission was clear: to advance Litecoin awareness, adoption, security and development. Nearly a decade later, Litecoin Foundation’s mission remains unchanged. And its leadership, community and volunteers are more dedicated, effective and passionate than ever before.

‍

5. 2017: Coinbase adds LitecoinIn May 2013, Charlie Lee sent an email to [email protected] to see if they’d "be interested in supporting Litecoin”. Coinbase’s first employee, Olaf Carlson-Wee, responded 48 hours later asking for Lee’s phone number. And the rest is history…

Charlie Lee's Exchange with Coinbase Support ([email protected])Not so fast.

While Lee initiated the chat, it was actually Coinbase who had a proposition for him. Leave Google to come work for the exchange. It was 50% less pay and a super long commute, but the decision was easy. Lee was committed to Litecoin’s growth and taking a job at Coinbase would put him that much closer to decision-makers. In July 2013, Charlie Lee became an ex-Googler, and one of Coinbase’s earliest employees. It took four years of persistence, but Lee’s persistence paid off. On 3rd May 2017, Coinbase added support for Litecoin.

Mission complete, Lee left Coinbase in June 2017 to dedicate himself entirely to Litecoin.

Today's my last day at @coinbase! I will miss working with you all. I'm going to shift my focus to Litecoin now. To the moon! 😁 https://t.co/Ys9dZwtTFO

— Charlie Lee Ⓜ️🕸️ (@SatoshiLite) June 10, 2017 ‍

6. 2017: Litecoin activates SegWit before BitcoinThe SegWit discussion kicked off when Pieter Wuille presented at Scaling Bitcoin in December 2015. Though debate around SegWit - and the best way to scale Bitcoin - hit boiling point in 2017, with Bitcoin’s developers and community divided.

Since 2011, Litecoin has always been intended as a complement to Bitcoin. Something Charlie Lee made clear from the very beginning. So, with Bitcoin tearing itself apart over SegWit, Charlie put forward a solution:

“But with SegWit and Bitcoin’s current block scaling deadlock, I see a potential for Litecoin to help Bitcoin break through this deadlock. Litecoin can take a lead and be a positive force in the cryptocurrency space. We have been drafting behind the Bitcoin race car for many years. It’s about time to take a turn out front.” - Source:  My Vision For SegWit And Lightning Networks On Litecoin And Bitcoin.

Never one to kick tyres, Charlie and the Litecoin developers got to work. And on 10th May 2017, the first SegWit transaction was made on Litecoin!

Litecoin’s successful activation proved it was safe to make the upgrade, silenced technical FUD and demonstrated real-world implementation. Less than four months later, the Bitcoin community had reached its verdict and SegWit was fully activated on 24 August 2017.

NB: While we do our best to be unbiased, we also recommend objective explanation of SegWit from the great Andreas Antonopoulos

7. 2017: Lightning makes its first non-test payment on LitecoinAbout two hours after SegWit activated on Litecoin, Christian Decker made what is widely considered the first payment on the Lightning Network. Decker opened a Litecoin Lightning channel and sent 0.00000001 LTC (one litoshi, the smallest unit of Litecoin) from Zurich to San Francisco in less than a second. The best part: Decker recorded the transaction live to prove it. History thanks you, sir.
‍

‍

Just as it had done with SegWit, Litecoin implemented and tested the Lightning ahead of Bitcoin. To this day few know Litecoin even has Lightning. Let alone that the first non-test Lightning payment was made on Litecoin!

Lightning is a major improvement to the Bitcoin (and Litecoin) ecosystems. One that many, including Charlie Lee, believe brings Bitcoin much closer to Satoshi’s real vision.

6/6 Bitcoin with Lightning Network more closely fits the Bitcoin whitepaper's title: "A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System." This is Satoshi's Vision.

— Charlie Lee Ⓜ️🕸️ (@SatoshiLite) October 6, 2018
8. 2017: Litecoin helps prove trustless cross-chain swapsOn 19th September 2017, Decred and Litecoin completed a cross-chain atomic swap. Charlie Lee swapped 1.337 LTC for 2.4066 DCR as an early demo of two (pretty different) chains exchanging value without an intermediary.

Just completed the first $DCR <> $LTC cross-chain atomic swap with @SatoshiLite. Huge shout-out for debugging with us! More info soon™... https://t.co/o2viQm3LTR

— Decred (DCR) (@decredproject) September 19, 2017 Executing the trustless, independent trade opened up entirely new and genuinely decentralized finance (DeFi) possibilities. And it was his belief in the real-world use cases that saw Lee get involved. Not to mention improved compatibility between Litecoin and other chains.

If you’re keen to learn more, check out this comprehensive and compelling post on Decred’s Medium.

9. 2020: PayPal adds LitecoinThis was - and still is - a big deal. On 21 October 2020, PayPal announced that U.S. customers would be able to buy, hold and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin directly in their PayPal accounts.
‍

The PayPal integration put Litecoin in at the fingertips of millions of mainstream users, growing reach well beyond crypto exchanges and wallets. An enormous and criminally overlooked milestone in Litecoin’s history.

‍

10. Litecoin becomes BitPay's most-used cryptoIn mid-2021, Litecoin was added by the world’s biggest crypto payment processor, BitPay. Within months Litecoin established itself as one of the platform’s most frequently used crypto. And soon it’d become a dominant force.

Real-world use has always been a key metric of Litecoin’s continued success. And for 12 consecutive months from 2023 - 2024, Litecoin was the most used crypto on BitPay by customers and businesses alike. With users purchasing everything from VPN subscriptions and household goods, to $170,000 Patek Philippe watches and cars .

In June 2024, Litecoin made up 40.91% of all transactions. More than Bitcoin (22.51%), Ethereum (10.83%) and BCH (5.87%) combined.
‍

Source: BitPay via @LTCFoundation on X.com‍

This milestone is so epic as it illuminates Litecoin’s original intent, outlined 15 years ago on BitcoinTalk. To act like a silver to Bitcoin’s gold. And not simply to be exchanged for another currency, but be used for everyday commerce and payments for goods and services.
‍

The formation of Litecoin’s positioning, articulated sharply by forum user, coblee, in 2011.
11. 2022: Litecoin activates privacy via MWEB Big call, but MWEB is the biggest feature or improvement in Litecoin’s history.

Personal and financial privacy has never been more important. Since May 2022, Litecoin users have had the option of confidential transactions via MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Blocks). Achieving relative privacy with Litecoin has never been easier.

After years of further development and testing, MWEB was ready for even broader adoption by going mobile. In March 2024 a Litecoin Core release opened the door for mobile wallet support. Integrations by wallets such as Cake and Nexus followed, making private Litecoin transactions far more accessible. Daily MWEB activity grew steadily, with transaction counts reaching highs above 1,600 in late September 2024.

By 16 December 2025, the MWEB balance had reached 402,000 LTC. Continued wallet adoption and rising interest in privacy pushed it even further. As at time of this writing, a balance all-time high of 567,921 LTC was achieved on 11 September 2026.
‍

While privacy and “privacy coins” are all the rage across crypto, Litecoin has offered optional confidential transactions since 2022! Making it one of the longest-running and most widely available privacy options in the space. And, importantly, without forcing privacy by default on users. Giving Litecoin greater everyday flexibility than coins that are private by default.

Privacy and Confidential Transactions have been some of the most contentious topics among Bitcoin developers. History has shown that reaching consensus in Bitcoin Core is difficult. From SegWit to Lightning, Litecoin has tested and validated long-debated improvements that were later adopted by Bitcoin. Four years of real-world Litecoin MWEB use may now provide the battle-tested evidence Bitcoin needs to follow suit.

Want to use Litecoin with privacy? It’s super easy. Download Nexus Wallet on iOS or Android - officially endorsed by the Litecoin Foundation.
‍

12. 2025: Litecoin processed 300 millionth transactionOn 4 January 2025, Litecoin processed its 300 millionth transaction! A milestone for permissionless currency, decentralisation, financial freedom and inclusion. But the number becomes more interesting when you look at how Litecoin got there.

In 2024 alone, the Litecoin network processed more than 92 million transactions, up from around 67 million in 2023. Put another way: almost a third of Litecoin’s first 300 million transactions happened in a single year. Thirteen years into its existence, Litecoin had just recorded its busiest year yet.
‍

~1.22 million transactions were processed on January, 3 2024. Source.Importantly, all that activity didn’t make Litecoin expensive to use. Throughout 2024, Litecoin’s daily average transaction fee stayed below US$0.01. A fairly important detail for a currency intended for everyday use, not just the occasional movement of a fortune.

Litecoin’s Average Transaction Fees, 2024. Source.
Now, Litecoin has passed the 418 million transaction mark. And the count will just keep climbing.
‍

13. 2018-2026: From LoafWallet to NexusCountless wallets have added support for Litecoin over the last 15 years. Now, in 2026, almost every major wallet supports Litecoin. Including non-native crypto wallets like PayPal!

Regardless, Litecoin Foundation has always placed considerable focus on developing its own ‘official’ wallet, developed and maintained by its developers. It started with self-custodial LoafWallet, which re-branded to Litewallet in 2019. By mid-2025, the Foundation made the decision to sunset Litewallet in favor of a more robust, reliable and advanced wallet years in the making: Nexus.

Unveiled at Litecoin Summit 2025 by the lead developer, Loshan, Nexus is the new official Litecoin Foundation wallet. Released on iOS and Android in June 2025, Nexus combines self-custody, opt-in MWEB/private payments, Tor integration, Coin Selection, in-app gift card purchase and plenty more.

If you need a Litecoin wallet, check out Nexus. The official Litecoin Foundation wallet. No notes.

14. 2025: Litecoin becomes a corporate treasury assetIn July 2025 we saw the launch of Litecoin’s first corporate treasuries: Luxxfolio and Lite Strategy!

A former Bitcoin miner, Luxxfolio, decided to go all in on Litecoin. Launching in July with a 20,000 LTC treasury. Ever since, Luxxfolio has been committed to helping Litecoin grow, injecting funds into the ecosystem and deploying assets into yield-generating protocols.

Then came Lite Strategy. With more than 929,000 Litecoin, the Nasdaq (NASDAQ: LITS) listed entity is the world’s largest Litecoin Treasury and first US-listed public company to adopt Litecoin as a primary reserve asset. Read all about Lite Strategy’s journey.

Thank you, Luxxfolio and Lite Strategy. We treasure your Litecoin-first passion and commitment!

‍

15. 2025: Litecoin gets its U.S first spot ETF  In November 2025 Litecoin officially joined the ranks of Bitcoin and Ethereum with the approval of its first U.S. Spot Litecoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)! Announced by Canary Capital Group, the NASDAQ-listed LTCC fund represents a landmark moment for the most enduring and reliable crypto.

“In 2011 when I launched Litecoin, my vision was to build a fair, open, and accessible complement to Bitcoin. Fourteen years later, seeing a U.S. spot ETF approved for Litecoin is both humbling and historic. This recognition cements Litecoin’s role as sound money. It’s been fifteen years since “a lite version of Bitcoin” launched. And in 2026, Litecoin is still stronger than ever. Not because it followed hype, pumped bags or FOMO’d into the latest narrative. But because it did what other cryptos didn’t: focused on being more usable and useful to people of all walks, all over the world. A mission Litecoin’s had since day one, that’s unlikely to change any time soon.

Happy 15th birthday, Litecoin. Here’s to the next chapter.

First Nasdaq-Listed Company with Litecoin Reserve Treasury Celebrates 15 Years of Uptime and Real-World Payments with an Industry-Wide Storytelling Campaign

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 13, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lite Strategy, Inc. (Nasdaq: LITS), today launched Proof of Time: proofoftime.litestrategy.com, an industry-wide public archive capturing fifteen years of crypto history through the untold stories of the people who built, used, and sustained the ecosystem. The project marks the 15th anniversary of the Litecoin network, created by Charlie Lee and launched on October 13, 2011.

Litecoin has stayed true to its original mission and vision of enabling everyday payments, and the network's fundamentals reflect that. With a market capitalization of approximately $5 billion, more than one million weekly transactions through 2026, and average fees of just $0.003 to $0.01, Litecoin continues to deliver scalable, low-cost payments. More than nine million addresses hold a Litecoin balance, underscoring a broad and durable holder base.

Proof of Time is designed to document the human history behind Litecoin. By collecting firsthand accounts, stories of early trades, and the online communities that shaped the modern digital asset landscape, the archive is launched to highlight the depth, longevity, and culture that continue to set Litecoin apart.

"When I launched Litecoin in 2011, I wanted to build a faster, cheaper network for everyday transactions," said Charlie Lee, Creator of Litecoin and member of the Board of Directors of Lite Strategy. "Fifteen years later, that’s still the job. But today, it’s not just about the age, I see a lot in the people active in Litecoin and the work we’re doing together. We are continuing to build Litecoin to be even more secure and sustainable for the long term, ensuring it delivers on its original promise as our community grows."

"In crypto, you can buy attention, but you can’t buy fifteen years of continuous uptime," said Jay File, CEO and CFO of Lite Strategy. "Fifteen years without the network going offline, through every market cycle and every challenge along the way, is the kind of hard-earned track record institutional investors look for. Lite Strategy provides public-market investors with a transparent, regulated vehicle to gain direct exposure to that enduring institutional foundation. Both Charlie and I share that long-term vision."

The launch follows Lite Strategy’s recent report of its financial results for its first full fiscal year operating as the first U.S. publicly traded company to adopt Litecoin as its primary treasury reserve asset. About Litecoin's 15th anniversary

Fifteen years after going live, the Litecoin network has never gone offline. According to the Litecoin Foundation, it has processed more than 416 million transactions since 2011, and still handles more than a million a week, including 4.9 million transactions in September 2026 alone. Currently, over 9 million addresses hold a Litecoin balance, while MWEB, the network's opt-in privacy feature, held a record 563,923 LTC in September 2026. The network is also preparing for the future with LitVM testnet, which brings smart contracts to Litecoin, processing more than 350 million transactions ahead of its planned mainnet launch, and the fourth Litecoin halving is expected around July 2027, when the reward for each block drops from 6.25 to 3.125 LTC.

Litecoin Appears to be under attack
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin Calls Out Reddit's r/CryptoCurrency Over Alleged Targeted CensorshipThe official @Litecoin account on X has gone public with a sharp accusation against @Reddit's flagship r/CryptoCurrency forum, alleging a coordinated effort to suppress positive content about the cryptocurrency. The statement has drawn attention from the broader crypto community and raised questions about moderation practices on one of the internet's most influential crypto discussion boards.

"There's a concerted effort on r/CryptoCurrency to ban anything positive about Litecoin. Litecoin supporters simply posting general news should not be banned and/or suspended. This needs to stop," Litecoin wrote on X.

Forum members have corroborated the claim, noting selective post deletions and account suspensions tied specifically to positive $LTC coverage. According to Crypto Times, the accusation appears to have been partly triggered after at least one user reported being banned following a post about a Litecoin partnership announcement. The subreddit's moderators have not publicly responded to the allegations.

Why It Matters for a Mature Proof-of-Work NetworkThe controversy is notable given Litecoin's standing as one of the oldest and most established cryptocurrencies in the market. Launched in October 2011 by Charlie Lee, a former Google engineer, Litecoin was designed as a faster, more accessible alternative to Bitcoin, using a Scrypt-based proof-of-work algorithm with a block time of roughly 2.5 minutes and a capped supply of 84 million coins, according to Fidelity's learning center.

Often described as the silver to Bitcoin's gold, Litecoin has maintained a long track record of network uptime and broad exchange support. Suppression of organic discussion about the project on a major public forum, if substantiated, could affect how new and prospective users discover and evaluate the asset.

As of now, no evidence in the form of ban notices or removed post logs has been published by Litecoin to support the claim, and r/CryptoCurrency's moderation team has yet to comment. The situation remains unresolved.

Litecoin hovers near $64.20, $67 and $80 key levels in recovery structure
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin traded around $64.20 on October 10, 2026, bouncing from earlier lows near $61. This modest comeback followed a period of short-term weakness, yet broader technical signals continue to point to a possible recovery. Key indicators such as Fibonacci retracement zones and longer-term moving averages suggest that Litecoin’s wider recovery structure remains in place, despite the recent fluctuation.

Litecoin recovers from extended correctionLitecoin’s price action over recent months reflects an upswing from a prolonged bearish period, followed by a corrective pullback. On the three-day timeframe, the coin rebounded from approximately $39.28 and advanced toward the $71.50–$75 resistance zone. After this move, sellers took control, resulting in the current pullback.

Technical analysis shared by CryptoNuclear indicates that the $55–$59 price range is critical. Litecoin previously consolidated in this area before it broke out. A price return to this range would test whether previous resistance now acts as support, with price response determining the validity of this breakout level.

Another analysis by @_CryptoSurf emphasized Litecoin’s 90% increase over three months, followed by a retracement from the 0.5 Fibonacci level to the 0.382 level. This positions the $63 support area as an important zone for evaluating the current correction’s stability.

Fibonacci retracement levels are used to identify likely zones where buying or selling may arise during corrections or rallies. They do not guarantee reversal but offer reference points for trading decisions.

Mini dictionary: Fibonacci retracement is a popular technical analysis tool that identifies potential support and resistance levels by measuring past price movements and placing horizontal lines at key ratios derived from the Fibonacci sequence, such as 38.2%, 50%, and 61.8%.

Key support and resistance levelsLitecoin’s short-term direction depends on several support and resistance zones. Immediate support sits in the $62–$63 area, which aligns with the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement and the Ichimoku Kijun level near $62.58. A solid hold above this region could stabilize prices.

On the resistance side, the $65–$67 zone serves as the first notable hurdle. This is followed by $66–$68.85, reflecting additional daily pivot resistance, and the $71.50–$75 band, representing the upper boundary where Litecoin was previously rejected.

ReferenceSupport Level(s)Resistance Level(s)Nearest$62.18–$63.00$64.27–$65.10Secondary$60.80$66.00–$68.85Major$58.65–$59.00, $55–$59 zone$71.50–$75.00, $80.00Further below, $60.80 and then $58.65–$59 provide additional support, while a break above $75 could put $80 in sight. However, confirmation from trading volume and positive price momentum would be required to validate an advance to $80.

Bullish and bearish scenariosIf Litecoin holds above the $62–$63 support and manages to reclaim the $65–$67 range, the bullish outlook would strengthen. This development could signal the end of the current pullback, provided the move is supported by increased trading volume and a daily close above resistance. A higher low followed by a push through $67 could further improve the short-term structure.

Trader @Crypt0Astronaut noted that a successful retest of former resistance as support, combined with a strong bounce, could pave the way for Litecoin to target the $80 zone. However, this potential relies on overcoming the intermediate resistance levels and confirming renewed buying strength.

Conversely, a decisive break below $62 would weaken the bullish case, signaling the risk of a deeper correction. The first downside target is around $60.80, with the next significant area between $58.65 and $59. A drop into the $55–$59 band could challenge the broader recovery seen since Litecoin’s move from $39.28, especially if support fails.

If selling pressure persists, lower levels such as $51.50–$46.50 and $42.50, as well as the cycle low near $39.28, could come into view, though these would become relevant only with a pronounced continuation of weakness.

Momentum, moving averages, and confirmation factorsThree key factors will likely drive Litecoin’s next move: its response to the $62–$63 support, the market’s ability to clear $71.50–$75 resistance, and confirmation from multiple timeframes. The daily and three-day charts provide a complementary view, while daily closes deliver clues about momentum shifts.

Momentum metrics are currently mixed. The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) is around 48–50, which points to balanced short-term momentum. The MACD histogram remains negative, signifying that corrective trends have not yet fully reversed. On the four-hour chart, RSI readings near 33–37 suggest weaker near-term momentum, but oversold conditions by themselves do not assure an immediate rebound.

Litecoin remains above its 50-period exponential moving average near $60, as well as its 100- and 200-period moving averages at $55–$56. However, the shorter-term averages between $65.50 and $67.85 may act as resistance while LTC trades below them.

Litecoin’s price structure will be determined by whether the current correction is a healthy pause or a sign of deeper weakness. Volume, momentum, and price confirmation across different timeframes all play a crucial role in clarifying the near-term outlook.

Technical summary: Recovery faces key testLitecoin’s price remains caught between recovery and renewed downside. Sustaining the $62–$63 support and reclaiming resistance at $65–$67 could allow for another move toward $71.50–$75. A confirmed breakout above that band would bolster the scenario for a run toward $80.

However, a firm decline below $62 could expose Litecoin to further losses toward the $60.80 and $58.65–$59.00 supports and, if persistent, the $55–$59 range. Lower price zones may only become relevant if these support levels are breached.

In the current technical landscape, Fibonacci levels and breakout points provide useful navigational reference, but volume and price behavior remain decisive for Litecoin’s near-term path.

What Is Litecoin (LTC)?
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin (LTC), herhangi bir merkezi otoriteye ihtiyaç duymadan dijital varlık transferi yapılmasını sağlayan açık kaynaklı bir blokzincir ağıdır. Proje, eski Google mühendisi Charlie Lee tarafından 2011 yılında oluşturuldu ve aynı yıl faaliyet göstermeye başladı. Litecoin kullanıcıları, internet üzerinden herhangi bir aracı kurum olmadan birbirlerine LTC gönderebilir.

Litcoin (LTC) Ne Sunuyor?

Litecoin, Proof of Work (PoW) konsensüs mekanizmasını kullanır.

Projenin kaynak kodu lansmandan önce kamuya açık hale getirildi ve Litecoin’in başlangıç süreci önceden duyuruldu. Böylece ağın açık ve madenciliğe dayalı bir dağıtım modeliyle başlaması hedeflendi.

Litecoin’in parasal politikasındaki en önemli özelliklerden biri 84 milyon LTC’lik maksimum arzdır.

Litecoin’in son yıllardaki önemli teknik geliştirmelerinden biri ise MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Blocks) oldu.

Litecoin’in başlangıcında küçük miktarda ön madencilik gerçekleştirildiği biliniyor.

Litecoin (LTC) Kurucusu Kim? Litecoin, Charlie Lee tarafından 2011 yılında oluşturuldu. Lee, bilgisayar bilimi eğitimi aldı ve Litecoin’in geliştirilmesinden önce Google’da mühendis olarak çalıştı.

Lee, 9 Ekim 2011’de Litecoin’i kamuoyuna duyurdu.

Litecoin’in Öne Çıkan Özellikleri Litecoin’in temel tasarımı hızlı ve merkeziyetsiz değer transferi üzerine kuruludur. Bitcoin’e benzer şekilde Proof of Work konsensüsünü kullanması, ağ güvenliğinin madenciler tarafından sağlanmasını mümkün kılar.

Litecoin’in öne çıkan özellikleri arasında şunlar yer alır:

The blockchain continues to operate efficiently, reflecting its stability and critical role within the cryptocurrency sector.

Anniversary highlights longevity and efficiencyOn the anniversary, Zach Pandl, head of research at Grayscale, highlighted a notable surge in Litecoin’s mentions across the market. He described Litecoin as an “OG altcoin,” emphasizing its longstanding reputation as a foundational and time-tested asset in the digital currency environment.

Litecoin maintains remarkably low average transaction fees at $0.003, positioning its network as a cost-effective alternative to Bitcoin for routine transactions. The blockchain’s security is supported by a hashrate of 2,671.43 terahashes per second (TH/s) and a user base of 9.10 million active addresses. Litecoin price falls 4% to $66 as derivatives activity spikes
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News

Litecoin, one of the most established digital assets, is marking its 15th anniversary this week while buyers scrutinize the market’s latest shifts. Despite the milestone and enduring attention from financial giants like Fidelity Digital Assets, Litecoin’s price has seen a notable pullback from recent highs.

Price movement and critical technical levelsAs of the latest trading session, Litecoin is valued at $66.15, reflecting a 4.12% loss over the past 24 hours. This decline brings LTC back to its 20-day exponential moving average (EMA), a level now viewed as a crucial near-term support.

Recent technical analysis highlights the importance of the $66 zone, as maintaining this level could prove pivotal for determining the next trend direction. A sustained dip below the 20-day EMA of $66.01 might signal a shift toward more bearish conditions.

Additional moving averages show the 50-day EMA at $59.65, the 100-day at $55.27, and the 200-day at $55.89. The fact that the shorter-term average remains above longer-term averages suggests that the broader trend is still constructive, despite LTC testing immediate support.

Key support zones are clustered around $58.76-$59.65, near the 50-day EMA, while a more distant support level stands at $50.91. A further decline into these regions could attract attention if selling accelerates.

It is currently recognized as one of the longest-running digital asset networks in the industry.

Fidelity Digital Assets, a subsidiary of the global financial services company Fidelity Investments, has acknowledged this milestone. The team at Fidelity pointed out that nearly 79 million LTC are in circulation, underlining Litecoin’s longevity and established market structure.

Since its initial launch, Litecoin remains one of the longest-running digital asset networks, with nearly 79 million LTC in circulation.

Market participants now focus on whether this maturity and historic stability can generate renewed momentum for LTC following its latest rally.

Derivatives activity and market sentimentAccording to CoinGlass, open interest in Litecoin’s derivatives has climbed sharply since late September, reaching around $600 million by October 7. This represents a significant increase compared to the quieter trading seen in August and early September.

Trading volume rose substantially during the late-September rally, peaking at an estimated $2.5 billion. However, activity has since receded, showing that the initial momentum following the breakout has cooled.

The derivatives market registered several large liquidation events aligned with periods of volatility in both directions. However, due to limited data on funding rates, current sentiment among derivatives traders remains unclear.

Short-term momentum indicators exhibit a mixed picture. The relative strength index (RSI) now stands at 55.17, above the neutral threshold of 50 but significantly down from higher levels seen earlier. The RSI has also dropped below its moving average near 70.97, suggesting diminished buying strength in the immediate term.

Outlook and market considerationsWith Litecoin’s price currently testing the $66 mark, remaining above the 20-day EMA will be vital for preserving a bullish short-term outlook. To reignite stronger upward momentum, traders are looking for a move back toward the $69-$72 resistance range. If selling pressure intensifies, the broader $58.76-$59.65 support area comes into focus as the next key battleground.

The intersection of an established network anniversary and ongoing derivatives activity offers a potential catalyst for price movements. However, confirmation will depend on whether LTC can sustain critical technical levels and attract renewed volume to the market.

While moving averages are still providing technical support, the pullback in both price and RSI shows that buyers have lost some short-term control after LTC’s recent run-up.

Traders are advised to continue monitoring market sentiment, trading volume, and key support and resistance zones, especially given the ongoing volatility in cryptocurrency markets.

Litecoin ($LTC) turns 15 today, October 7, 2026. What began as a leaner, faster alternative to Bitcoin has since grown into one of the most enduring blockchains in the industry.

, a timestamp embedded by @SatoshiLite to prove the block was created after that date. It was a nod to Bitcoin's own genesis block tradition, and a signal that @Litecoin was built with the same ethos of transparency from day one.

A Network That Has Stood the Test of Time With nearly 80 million $LTC in circulation and a market capitalization above $5 billion, Litecoin ranks among the top 30 crypto assets today. That reliability, rare in an industry defined by volatility and disruption, has helped sustain a global ecosystem of miners, developers, businesses, and everyday users.

Key Upgrades Along the Way The network's most significant recent milestone came in 2022.

That approval marked another landmark moment for the network and added a new layer of institutional accessibility to an asset that has been running without interruption since 2011.

Fifteen years in, $LTC remains one of the oldest and most consistently operational networks in the crypto space. Whether it continues to evolve or simply endures, its track record alone sets it apart.

The Litecoin (LTC) blockchain has marked a significant milestone: 15 years of uninterrupted operation since the launch of its genesis block in 2011. On the anniversary, Grayscale's head of research, Zach Pandl, drew attention to an unusual surge in mentions of the coin, publicly backing the market veteran and calling it an "OG altcoin" — an original, classic asset that has retained its fundamental value.

Litecoin Foundation and Greywick Digital target cLTC launch on Canton Network by 2026
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin is taking steps toward a wider institutional presence through a collaboration between the Litecoin Foundation and Greywick Digital to introduce cLTC on the Canton Network. This initiative marks a shift from Litecoin’s well-established identity as a payments-focused cryptocurrency, steering the project toward broader financial use cases.

Plans for cLTC IntegrationThe Litecoin Foundation and Greywick Digital have signed a memorandum of understanding to support bringing cLTC to the Canton Network, with the launch expected by the end of 2026. By integrating with Canton, a network tailored for institutional financial operations, Litecoin could access new audiences in tokenized markets, institutional settlements, and decentralized finance applications.

Canton is a privacy-enabled blockchain network designed to link financial institutions through interoperable smart contracts. The project aims to solve challenges related to data privacy, settlement finality, and regulatory compliance within institutional finance.

Mini dictionary: Canton Network: An institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure designed to connect participants in traditional financial markets, enabling complex and compliant financial transactions through interoperable smart contracts.

If the cLTC integration proceeds as planned, the project could represent a significant step in connecting Litecoin with institutional-grade platforms.

Evolving Narrative and Institutional FocusLitecoin’s move toward institutional and DeFi integration arrives as the network approaches its 16th anniversary. Expanding beyond its original payments niche, Litecoin aims to position itself as an asset relevant to institutional investors and emerging decentralized applications.

Alongside exchange listings and the development of regulated investment products, the anticipated Canton integration adds fresh momentum to Litecoin’s evolving ecosystem. Market participants are now watching if this expansion can support long-term growth and demand for LTC.

Rather than relying exclusively on its payments use case, Litecoin is advancing into areas like institutional finance, smart contracts, and decentralized finance, with the Canton initiative expected to play a central role in this transition.

The planned launch is not yet live and will require continued development and adoption efforts to reach its institutional and technical ambitions.

LTC Price Action and Analyst OutlookLTC is currently trading below $70, a level which has emerged as a psychological resistance for the asset. Persistent uncertainty surrounds whether new ecosystem developments, such as cLTC, can provide enough momentum to overcome this threshold.

Crypto analyst Crypto Patel has issued a bullish long-term forecast for Litecoin, noting the impact of the upcoming cLTC integration, the Canton Network partnership, and planned smart contract enhancements via LitVM. Patel indicated the possibility of LTC reaching $500 or higher as the network celebrates its 16th anniversary.

Emphasizing Litecoin’s institutional shift and planned smart contract functionality, Crypto Patel projected significant price growth potential as these developments unfold ahead of 2026.

For now, traders are monitoring whether LTC can sustain any upward trend above the $70 mark, which could reinforce the case for broader institutional adoption. Any continued weakness could shift focus back to lower support areas.

Investors are also paying attention to ongoing adoption efforts and technical upgrades, as the significance of Litecoin’s expansion beyond payments may ultimately depend on the acceptance of cLTC and smart contract activity on its network.

Litecoin Is Coming To Canton Network

Greywick Digital (@Greywickdigital) and the Litecoin Foundation (@LTCFoundation) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bring $cLTC, a Canton-native version of $LTC, to the @CantonNetwork. The agreement targets a live deployment before the end of 2026, opening one of crypto's oldest proof-of-work networks to institutional-grade finance infrastructure.

What cLTC Is and How It Will Work

Each cLTC token will operate under on-chain reserve validation, continuous attestations, and built-in compliance mechanisms, preserving the auditability that institutional participants require. The structure is designed to link $LTC's more than 15 years of network history to Canton's regulated multi-party settlement environment.

Why Canton Matters for Institutions

That puts $LTC liquidity into an environment where,

The move reflects a broader trend of connecting established crypto assets to regulated financial rails. Canton's privacy-first design means counterparties see only the transaction data relevant to them, a feature that has helped attract Tier-1 institutions that are cautious about exposing proprietary flow on fully public ledgers. For Litecoin, the partnership represents a concrete institutional use case at a moment when many legacy crypto assets are searching for fresh relevance beyond retail trading.

Litecoin Foundation signs MOU with Greywick Digital to bring cLTC to Canton Network
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News

Litecoin has been processing payments since 2011. Now its foundation wants the coin to show up somewhere it has rarely been seen: the trading desks of big financial institutions.

The Litecoin Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with Greywick Digital to develop cLTC, a tokenized version of LTC that would live on the Canton Network. The agreement was signed on October 1, 2026, and the stated goal is to make Litecoin easier to trade in institutional circles.

What the deal actually covers Real LTC gets locked up in reserve, and a token representing it circulates on Canton, where institutions already operate.

Greywick Digital brings the issuance side of that arrangement. The firm specializes in asset issuance and independent attestation on Canton, which means it handles creating the token and having a third party verify that the backing exists.

The reserves behind cLTC are designed to be disclosed publicly.

The token will use CIP-56, a token standard on Canton.

The Litecoin Foundation has also endorsed cLTC as the official version of Litecoin for institutional applications.

Why Canton, and why now Canton is a public blockchain built specifically for institutional finance. The network has drawn major names, including DTCC, Goldman Sachs, and BNP Paribas. It supports transactions involving tokenized real-world assets and offers programmable privacy to participants.

Litecoin has processed over 417 million transactions since launching in 2011. The foundation also points to 100% uptime over that period.

The timeline, with conditions attached The anticipated launch of cLTC on Canton’s mainnet is slated for late 2026. That target is contingent on two things: completing testnet validations and publishing public reserve disclosures.

No exact launch date has been set.

What this means for Litecoin and institutional crypto Tokenized versions of established coins let institutions get exposure inside the infrastructure they already use, without having to plug directly into each native blockchain.

Any wrapped or tokenized asset introduces a dependency on the issuer and the reserve arrangement, which is exactly why the attestation and disclosure pieces of this deal matter so much.

Investors and observers should focus on a few signals. The first is the publication of reserve disclosures, since the launch hinges on them. The second is progress on testnet validation. The third is whether institutions on Canton actually pick up cLTC once it arrives.

Altcoin to Watch If You Missed XRP and QNT, According to Market Research Community
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Ultimate Crypto names a coin worth watching after XRP and QNT broke similar long-term triangle structures, while this altcoin remains near a key multi-year setup.

Market research community Ultimate Crypto is drawing attention to Litecoin’s long-term price structure, arguing that LTC is worth watching after similar multi-year setups in XRP and Quant produced major breakouts. Its comparison shows XRP and QNT already escaping large triangle formations, while LTC remains compressed inside its own structure.

Ultimate Crypto, which covers crypto, stocks, metals, macro markets and on-chain data, summed up the comparison by saying: “If you missed XRP and QNT, keep an eye on LTC for the long term.”

Ultimate Crypto compares the long-term structures of Litecoin, Quant and XRP. XRP and QNT have already broken above multi-year descending resistance, with the chart marking gains of about 742.67% and 427.92%, respectively, while LTC remains inside its long-term triangle after recently testing rising support. Source: Ultimate Crypto/TradingView. The charts do not suggest that Litecoin must repeat either asset’s gains. Instead, they compare how all three spent years forming lower highs against rising support before reaching important breakout points.

XRP Broke Its Multi-Year Triangle Before a 742% Expansion The XRP chart uses three-month candles and tracks a large symmetrical triangle that developed after the asset’s 2018 peak.

Its upper trendline declined from the $3 area, while the lower boundary rose from XRP’s 2020 lows. Price eventually pushed above the descending resistance during the late-2024 rally.

The chart measures an advance of approximately 742.67%, from the lower part of the structure to around $3.0687.

XRP subsequently traded even higher before entering its current correction. It now changes hands around $1.49, with a market cap of roughly $93.8 billion, according to CoinMarketCap.

The important point in the comparison is the sequence: years of compression, a breakout above descending resistance, then a much larger price expansion.

QNT Recently Followed a Similar Path Quant’s two-month chart shows another long-term triangle.

QNT spent several years producing lower highs beneath descending resistance while repeatedly defending a rising support line in the roughly $50-$70 region.

The latest move broke sharply through the upper trendline. The chart measures QNT’s advance to approximately $299.83, representing a gain of around 427.92% from the referenced low.

QNT currently trades near $282.84, up about 25.8% over 24 hours, with a market cap of approximately $3.41 billion.

The breakout has also coincided with a major development for Quant. On Sept. 24, The Clearing House selected Quant to provide the interoperability and transaction-management technology for its On-Chain Money Initiative, a tokenized-deposit network expected to become available to participating financial institutions in the first half of 2027.

Litecoin Has Not Confirmed the Same Breakout Yet Litecoin is the incomplete part of the comparison.

Its three-month chart shows LTC compressing inside a large triangle extending from the 2018 period. The descending resistance line connects progressively lower cycle highs, while rising support has contained several major pullbacks.

The latest candles recently tested that lower trendline around the $40-$50 region before recovering. However, LTC remains below the descending upper boundary, which currently sits in the high-double-digit to roughly $100 region on the chart.

This means Litecoin has not yet produced the equivalent breakout already seen in XRP and QNT.

LTC currently trades around $66.85, with a market cap of approximately $5.19 billion. Its circulating supply stands at 77.67 million LTC against a maximum supply of 84 million.

The asset has nevertheless shown stronger short-term activity. Litecoin surged about 24% in a single day on Sept. 25, accompanied by increased network activity, futures positioning and trading volume, before pulling back from the low-$70 region.

LTC, XRP and QNT Have One Major Difference The three charts share similar compression structures, but the assets differ considerably in size and supply.

XRP carries a market cap above $90 billion, compared with roughly $5.2 billion for LTC and $3.4 billion for QNT. XRP has a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens, Litecoin is capped at 84 million, while QNT’s total supply is about 14.88 million.

Those differences mean XRP’s 742% move and QNT’s 428% expansion cannot simply be applied to Litecoin as price targets.

For LTC, the technical confirmation remains straightforward: price would first need to break and hold above its long-term descending resistance. Until that happens, Litecoin remains inside the multi-year triangle that Ultimate Crypto is comparing with the earlier XRP and QNT setups.

@LiteStrategy (Nasdaq: LITS) has closed its fiscal year 2026 as the largest public corporate holder of $LTC, cementing a treasury strategy that mirrors the playbook MicroStrategy pioneered with Bitcoin.

$100M Deployed, 1% of Supply Secured

The scale of the position places Lite Strategy in a category of its own among public companies. No other listed corporation holds a comparable share of $LTC's circulating supply, drawing direct comparisons to how Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) reshaped institutional attitudes toward Bitcoin.

Looking ahead, the company's stated objective for FY2027 is to continue growing LTC per share through disciplined, active treasury management, keeping the focus firmly on long-term stockholder value rather than short-term price movements.

Grayscale Names 4 Crypto With Real Digital-Currency Use
BTC Bitcoin LTC Litecoin XRP Ripple ZEC Zcash
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Grayscale has spotlighted four cryptocurrencies built for digital-currency use within its Currencies sector, singling out Zcash as the asset with the most room to grow.

Zach Pandl, Grayscale’s Head of Research, argues that Zcash could gradually capture part of Bitcoin’s enormous market share as demand for private digital payments grows.

Grayscale’s Four Digital-Currency BetsGrayscale places Bitcoin, Litecoin, XRP and Zcash among the main assets in its Currencies Crypto Sector.

The broader sector contains roughly 15 cryptocurrencies worth about $1.6 trillion combined. Bitcoin controls close to 90% of that value.

Litecoin and XRP have spent years pitching themselves as faster or cheaper payment alternatives. Yet neither has seriously threatened Bitcoin’s position.

XRP’s market cap, for example, remains only a fraction of Bitcoin’s despite being one of crypto’s largest assets.

Zcash offers a more unusual argument. Its main selling point is something Bitcoin, XRP and Litecoin do not provide by default: private transactions.

Why Grayscale Thinks Zcash Has Room to GrowZcash uses zero-knowledge proofs known as zk-SNARKs, allowing users to hide transaction amounts and wallet details.

By mid-2026, roughly 90% of Zcash transactions used shielded transfers. Grayscale sees that adoption as increasingly relevant as digital surveillance becomes more sophisticated.

The market has already noticed.

Zcash’s market cap has risen from roughly $4 billion in March to about $24.27 billion today. Yet that still leaves it below 1% of Bitcoin’s roughly $1.56 trillion valuation.

ZEC trades near $1,431 and has risen almost 19-fold over the past year.

That rally makes Grayscale’s thesis harder to dismiss.

It also raises the obvious question: after such a huge run, is Zcash still an overlooked challenger, or has the market already started pricing in the privacy story?

Trump administration launches AI tool to simplify government online services

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the Trump administration has rolled out an artificial intelligence-powered tool, which its developers claim will act as the federal government’s "digital steward" designed to modernize the relationship between citizens and the government. The tool will be hosted on the website America.gov, which officially launched on Tuesday, serving as a test of the Trump administration’s digital ambitions. Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb and head of the White House National Design Studio, said the online portal will be the federal government’s new digital gateway. He noted that as the technology evolves, America.gov will eventually become a unified entry point for all federal public services, setting "a standard worthy of a superpower".

According to Lookonchain monitoring, Australian digital asset management firm Monochrome Exchange, founded by Jeff Yew, former co-founder and CEO of Binance Australia, has launched an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) for its MCR token, raising over 5.5 million USDT to date. The total supply of MCR is 210 million tokens, with 5% (10.5 million tokens) allocated to this public IEO. IEO tokens will be locked for one month post-Token Generation Event (TGE), followed by linear release over the subsequent three months. MCR token holders are entitled to spot and derivatives trading fee discounts, priority access to Digital IPOs and token launches, staking rewards, increased Launchpad quota weight, participation in node programs, and platform governance via Monochrome DAO. Every quarter, 20% of the platform’s net profit is used to repurchase and burn MCR on the open market, while an additional 25% of Digital IPO fee revenue is allocated to the quarterly buyback-and-burn fund, aiming to continuously reduce MCR’s circulating supply through platform business growth. BlockBeats previously reported that on September 13, 2021, Monochrome announced the completion of a $1.8 million Series A funding round, co-led by Litecoin founder Charlie Lee, Blockstream Chief Strategy Officer Samson Mow, former Binance Chief Financial Officer Wei Zhou, and Kain Warwick, founder of Blueshyft and DeFi protocol Synthetix, with a post-money valuation of approximately $15 million. On August 18, 2022, Monochrome Asset Management obtained Australia’s first Australian Financial Services License (AFSL), which will be used to launch crypto-related exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on its trading platform.

Coinbase launches cbLTC on Solana via Chainlink, Litecoin ETF sees $1.73M inflow
LINK Chainlink LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin‘s presence has expanded beyond its native blockchain with the launch of Coinbase’s wrapped Litecoin, cbLTC, now available for use within the Solana ecosystem through the decentralized app Sunrise. This integration enables Solana users to utilize Litecoin’s value on their network for the first time, leveraging Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).

cbLTC brings Litecoin to SolanaCoinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States, has introduced cbLTC as a wrapped token that represents Litecoin on a 1:1 basis with the original asset. This approach allows users to access Solana’s decentralized finance applications while maintaining direct Litecoin exposure.

The Chainlink team reported that cbLTC is among Coinbase Wrapped Assets whose total value exceeds $7 billion on the CCIP infrastructure. This broadens Litecoin’s cross-chain functionality, providing new opportunities for its holders.

Solana users can now engage with cbLTC in decentralized apps and liquidity pools without requiring native LTC on the network. The mechanism also reinforces the asset’s security, since wrapped tokens rely on Coinbase’s custody of the underlying Litecoin.

cbLTC allows Solana users to tap into established digital assets and brings additional use cases for Litecoin beyond its original blockchain, according to statements from Chainlink and Coinbase.

For the Litecoin community, the ability to interact with Solana-based protocols may be significant, particularly for those interested in decentralized applications and liquidity options.

Mini dictionary: Chainlink CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol) is a protocol that enables secure and reliable transfer of tokens and data across multiple blockchains, helping bridge assets between otherwise isolated networks.

Impact on holders and market developmentsThe integration offers another option for Litecoin exposure within the Solana ecosystem. Solana users now have access to a wrapped token backed by a proven digital currency, while the broader impact will depend on demand, protocol adoption, and liquidity.

In addition to cross-chain advancements, investor attention has grown around Litecoin. On September 24, Canary Capital’s spot Litecoin ETF, a fund offering exposure to the cryptocurrency, received an inflow of $1.73 million—the first daily inflow above $1 million since January. The ETF closed at $17.40, up from its opening price of $17.01, and reached a high of $18.45. More than 407,000 shares traded that day, highlighting renewed interest as Litecoin’s price moved sharply.

DateLTC ETF InflowOpening PriceClosing PriceHighVolumeSeptember 24$1.73 million$17.01$17.40$18.45407,000+While the inflow does not conclusively establish a link between ETF activity and Litecoin’s price spike, the timing suggests mounting enthusiasm among both retail and institutional participants.

Technical outlook for Litecoin priceLitecoin’s price is currently in a recovery phase, rising above levels that had previously acted as resistance. On September 26, LTC traded around $72-$73, up from about $62 two days before. Technical analysts point to a breakout from a triangle pattern, viewing the June low as a turning point that could lead to further gains.

Analysis from More Crypto Online warns, however, that a temporary rally does not guarantee a sustained uptrend. The broader trading range has an upper boundary at $410, but near-term momentum remains key.

The $70 level has become a significant support area, with attention focused on whether LTC can sustain gains above recent highs at $74-$75. A consistent move higher may keep the bullish reversal intact.

If the price fails to stay above current support, it could test the $60-$62 range again, signaling seller pressure. The longer-term outlook depends on both sustained price recovery and continued adoption through cross-chain bridges like cbLTC.

As of now, Litecoin is combining growing access to decentralized apps via Solana, increased ETF inflows, and higher momentum, placing the asset at an important crossroads for further developments.

Litecoin price rallies 24% from June low as Coinbase launches new lending product
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin (LTC) is showing a strong recovery from its June low, supported by a surge in technical momentum and growing volatility. TradingView data places Litecoin at $71.82, marking a significant rise from its previous consolidation range.

Technical momentum increasesAccording to market analyst More Crypto Online, Litecoin appears to be forming an ABC recovery pattern within a broader triangle structure after completing a wave C decline in June. The analyst noted that while Litecoin has advanced beyond its initial resistance, this move remains within the boundaries of the triangle formation, limiting the potential for a structural breakout.

The price has broken above the 20-day simple moving average at $58.18 and the upper Bollinger Band near $71.73, with the rally briefly touching $73.43. This short-term momentum has fueled a steep upward move, yet More Crypto Online cautioned that such a rally alone does not confirm a long-term bullish trend. The larger triangle structure may cap upside below $410, suggesting a prolonged period of consolidation before any major shift.

Litecoin’s recent surge remains within the confines of a larger triangle pattern, which might imply continued consolidation despite strong short-term momentum.

The Bollinger Bands have widened noticeably compared to July and August, indicating heightened volatility. The daily momentum is also backed by a stronger MACD indicator, with the MACD line at 5.01 above the signal line at 3.32, and a growing green histogram on the daily chart.

Despite these technical indicators signaling robust demand, analysts warn that extended rallies combined with increased volatility often open the door to sharp pullbacks or a period of sideways consolidation.

Mixed signals from derivatives marketData from Coinglass shows inconsistencies in the Litecoin derivatives market. Trading volume in LTC derivatives dropped by 55.70% to $1.01 billion, marking a significant decrease in activity. In contrast, open interest rose by 1.14% to $677.45 million, highlighting that traders are holding their positions even as participation declines.

MetricCurrent ValueChangeTrading Volume$1.01 billion-55.70%Open Interest$677.45 million+1.14%This divergence points to a market with less active trading but sustained exposure, suggesting leveraged participation rather than broadening interest. Experts indicate that such conditions may increase the risk of volatile price shifts as the market responds to changing sentiment.

Coinbase and Morpho expand Litecoin lendingLitecoin’s recent revival has also benefited from new lending opportunities. The Litecoin Foundation announced that Coinbase, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange, has introduced Litecoin-backed loans through Morpho Midnight on Base, a layer-2 network for Ethereum. These products offer fixed interest rates and terms, allowing users to borrow up to $100,000 against their Litecoin holdings.

This addition marks a notable step in building financial infrastructure around Litecoin, expanding its utility beyond simple transactions and trading.

Mini dictionary: Morpho Midnight, a lending protocol allowing users to borrow and lend cryptocurrencies with fixed interest rates on blockchain networks. Base is an Ethereum layer-2 solution designed to provide faster and cheaper transactions.

Coinbase’s launch of Litecoin-based loans introduces a new layer of utility for LTC holders, as users can now access fixed-term loans directly backed by their Litecoin holdings.

This move is seen as supporting Litecoin’s relevance in an evolving decentralized finance sphere, where lending products have gained traction as a key utility for established cryptocurrencies.

Investors turning bullish on Litecoin...?

CoinGecko News

ETF Inflows Pick Up as Sentiment ShiftsSomething may be stirring in the @Litecoin market. On September 24, Canary Capital's spot Litecoin ETF (Nasdaq: LTCC) recorded a daily inflow of $1.73 million, marking the first seven-figure daily inflow the product has seen since January. The timing is notable, arriving as broader momentum around the @Litecoin ecosystem appears to be building.

LTCC is the first and only U.S. spot Litecoin ETF. Launched on Nasdaq in late October 2025 after receiving SEC approval, the fund holds physical LTC and tracks the CoinDesk Litecoin Price Index. The product has had a modest run since launch, but the September 24 inflow suggests renewed appetite from investors. That momentum carried into September 25, with total U.S. spot Litecoin ETF reserves hitting a record 175,000 LTC, driven by a 39,000 LTC inflow into LTCC, according to analytics data cited by KuCoin.

LitecoinVM Adds a New Layer of UtilityThe renewed investor interest does not exist in a vacuum. The @Litecoin ecosystem has seen meaningful technical development in 2026, with @LitecoinVM at the center of it. LitVM is Litecoin's first EVM-compatible Layer-2 rollup, built to bring smart contracts, DeFi, and real-world asset tokenization to Litecoin without altering its base chain. The project is backed by the Litecoin Foundation and Litecoin creator Charlie Lee, who joined as an advisor and investor in March 2026.

LitVM's testnet, called LiteForge, launched in April 2026 and has processed over 75 million transactions. The Layer 2 is built using Polygon's Chain Development Kit and BitcoinOS technology, and aims to give Ethereum-familiar developers a path to build on Litecoin with minimal friction. Planned use cases include LTC-backed real-world assets, decentralized finance applications, and cross-chain liquidity.

Whether the ETF inflow is a one-off or the start of a more sustained trend remains to be seen. But the combination of fresh institutional interest and genuine ecosystem development gives the Litecoin bull case more substance than it has had in some time.

Assessing Litecoin’s latest price breakout after bulls clear major $60.61 swing high
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin [LTC] was one of the top-20 crypto assets by market capitalization to record a sizeable price gain in the last 24 hours. While many altcoins, including LTC, saw double-digit returns over the past week, most were affected by Bitcoin’s [BTC] pullback from $87.3K to $82.9K by Thursday, 24th September.

At the time of writing, LTC bulls had noted gains of 6.04% in just 24 hours. On the weekly charts too, the altcoin was up by 29.2%, with the altcoin having breached its significant resistance at $60.

A closer look at Litecoin’s long-term trends Source: LTC/USDT on TradingView The Fixed Range Volume Profile was used to plot the volume profile from January’s high to the present day. It showed that the VAH (dotted blue) was at $60.50, a key swing level.

On the weekly chart, the Awesome Oscillator made a bullish crossover above the zero line, the first time the indicator flashed positive readings on this timeframe since October 2025.

The price also pierced the swing high at $60.61 made in May, flipping its weekly structure bullishly. The Directional Movement Index highlighted a strong uptrend in progress on the weekly timeframe.

Meanwhile, the OBV was still languishing near its multi-month lows stretching back to March. The weekly trading volume has not been explosive despite the bullish breakout. It could be a warning of weak buyer strength behind the move.

Despite the volume warning, however, Litecoin still maintains a bullish bias in the higher timeframes due to its rally past $60.

Traders’ call to action – Buy the pullback Source: LTC/USDT on TradingView On the daily timeframe, the OBV made new highs and seemed to be far more encouraging. Other technical indicators also supported a bullish view. The price structure was also firmly bullish.

A pullback would offer a buying opportunity, given the trends across the daily and weekly timeframes.

The $60 and $52.50-levels are the key demand zones to watch out for on the daily chart. Swing traders and investors can wait for a bullish reaction from these areas to consider going long on Litecoin.

Final Summary Litecoin’s price rally past $60.61 marked a higher timeframe trend shift. A pullback towards $60 or $52 could offer swing traders and investors a chance to buy.

Litecoin (LTC) Price: Weekly Structure Turns Bullish After Break Above $60.61
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
TLDR Litecoin (LTC) rose 6.04% in 24 hours and 29.2% over the past week. LTC broke above its May swing high of $60.61, flipping its weekly structure bullish. The weekly Awesome Oscillator turned positive for the first time since October 2025. Weekly On-Balance Volume (OBV) remains near multi-month lows, pointing to weaker volume behind the move. The $60 and $52.50 levels are the key demand zones on the daily chart. Litecoin (LTC) posted one of the larger price gains among the top 20 crypto assets by market cap over the past 24 hours. The token rose 6.04% in that period.

On the weekly chart, LTC is up 29.2%. The move pushed the price past a key resistance level at $60.

The gains came even as Bitcoin (BTC) pulled back. BTC dropped from $87,300 to $82,900 by Thursday, September 24.

Many altcoins, including Litecoin, posted double-digit returns over the past week. Most of them were affected by Bitcoin’s decline.

Weekly Chart Shows a Trend Shift A Fixed Range Volume Profile, drawn from January’s high to the present, places the value area high at $60.50. This level lines up with a key swing point on the chart.

LTC also moved past the $60.61 swing high set in May. This flipped the weekly market structure in favor of buyers.

Litecoin Price on CoinGecko The Awesome Oscillator on the weekly chart made a bullish crossover above the zero line. It is the first time the indicator has shown positive readings on this timeframe since October 2025.

The Directional Movement Index also points to a strong uptrend in progress on the weekly timeframe.

Not every signal is positive, though. The On-Balance Volume indicator on the weekly chart remains near multi-month lows that date back to March.

Weekly trading volume has not been strong despite the breakout. This could suggest weaker buyer strength behind the rally.

Even so, Litecoin keeps a bullish bias on higher timeframes. This is because of its move past the $60 level.

Daily Chart and Key Levels The daily chart gives a more positive picture. The OBV on this timeframe has made new highs.

Other technical indicators on the daily chart also support a bullish view. The price structure remains firmly bullish.

Based on trends across both the daily and weekly charts, a pullback could offer a buying opportunity, according to the analysis.

Two demand zones stand out on the daily chart: $60 and $52.50. Swing traders and investors may wait for a bullish reaction from these areas before opening long positions.

At the time of writing, LTC held its 6.04% daily gain and was trading above the $60 level it broke earlier in the week.

Litecoin trades at $71, eyes $135 if $80 resistance breaks
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin (LTC) is approaching a crucial technical threshold as it tests a resistance zone that has contained its price advances since 2021. Currently valued near $71, the cryptocurrency has rallied more than 30% from its recent lows around $50.

Key resistance near $80 holds back momentumLTC’s recovery has lifted it above the 20-period exponential moving average (EMA) on the two-week chart, now situated around $59. Reclaiming this moving average marks a notable improvement for the medium-term trend after an extended period of underperformance.

Despite this progress, Litecoin briefly touched the key $80 resistance point before encountering renewed selling pressure, pushing its price back down to $71. The $80 zone is particularly significant, as it combines several important moving averages. The 50-period EMA is positioned at $71.56, with the 200-period EMA at $77.10 and the 100-period EMA at $79.31, all converging around the current price.

This dense clustering of moving averages creates a strong technical barrier. Participants who accumulated positions during previous declines may view the region as an opportunity to reduce exposure, while sellers could look to initiate new positions in anticipation of another rejection from this level.

Consequently, a brief move above $80 may not suffice to confirm a bullish reversal. Market analysts indicate that Litecoin would need to close decisively above $80 on a two-week chart to establish a new uptrend and overcome both the moving-average concentration and a multi-year descending resistance line.

Litecoin would need to record a decisive two-week close above $80, demonstrating that buyers can overcome both the moving-average cluster and the multi-year descending resistance line.

Upside scenario and technical outlookA confirmed breakout above $80 would put Litecoin on course for an initial target between $95 and $100. This zone represents both a psychological and technical barrier, which could prove challenging as it may attract increased selling activity. Should LTC close clearly above $100, the cryptocurrency could extend gains toward the $125-$135 resistance area identified across its long-term charts.

From the current price near $71, a move to $135 would translate to an increase of roughly 90%. Technical observers note that the $135 region has previously acted as significant resistance, with heightened volatility and profit-taking seen at those levels.

However, any optimistic projection relies on Litecoin achieving and sustaining a breakout above $80. The digital asset remains beneath this threshold and must navigate clustered selling zones before a bullish structure can be established.

Indicators and potential reversalsThe daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) has climbed to 79, indicating that Litecoin is in overbought territory. Elevated RSI readings often suggest that recent momentum could face resistance or even a near-term pullback.

Should the rejection of the $80 zone continue, the first notable downside target emerges at the 20-period EMA, now at $59. This level previously acted as a significant resistance and may serve as support if prices decline further.

Maintaining support at $59 would help protect the improving long-term trend structure, allowing Litecoin additional time to consolidate and potentially mount another attempt at the $80 resistance. Failure to hold $59, however, would likely bring the recent $50 low back into focus for traders.

As momentum-driven sectors continue to influence the broader market, traders are finding that close monitoring of price action and investor behavior is essential when assessing breakouts. In environments where rapid moves can occur, the meme token market provides striking illustrations of this dynamic. In one instance tracked by Fomo App, a trader turned an initial $99 purchase of “Niu Lai” into approximately $370,000, highlighting how quickly trends can emerge and dissipate. The use of platforms like Fomo App, which integrates token discovery and trading with social data, investor rankings, and trade alerts, has become increasingly relevant for those seeking to navigate volatile trading environments and capitalize on emerging meme tokens.

Litecoin Price Breaks July Trendline: Key Pullback Zones
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Altcoins

25 September 2026 | 16:51 Litecoin is above the May high and the July trendline that capped prior rallies. Any retracement will show whether those former barriers can begin serving as support.

What Litecoin has changed on the daily chart LTC has moved through two distinct forms of resistance. The first is the horizontal high reached in May. The second is the descending line that had limited rallies since July. Clearing both does not settle the longer-term trend, but it does give the daily chart a different structure from the one that governed the summer.

Litecoin Fibonacci retracement resistance levels. The move follows our analysis of Litecoin’s 20% jump. That report examined the rally as it developed. The focus here is narrower: how LTC behaves if price comes back to the levels it has just passed.

Daily RSI has moved above 70, showing that the advance has become unusually fast. This often brings wider intraday swings. It does not establish a reversal point, which is why the response at the chart’s support layers matters more than the first red candle.

Three layers sit below the latest high 1. Near $66.6: a shallow retracement The 23.6% Fibonacci retracement sits near $66.6. It is the nearest reference below the latest high and would represent a limited giveback of the recent advance. Holding in this area would keep Litecoin in the upper part of its new range, without yet testing the levels that had previously stopped price.

2. Between $61 and $64: the actual retest zone This wider area matters because three separate references meet within it. The former descending trendline enters the zone, the July horizontal high is nearby, and the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement lies near $61.40. None of these signals carries the argument alone. Together, they make $61-$64 the area where the breakout can be properly tested.

A pullback into that range would not erase the advance. The key reaction would be whether price regains the upper part of the zone on a daily closing basis. That would show that the former barriers are starting to operate as support rather than resistance.

3. Sustained trade below $61: the retest breaks down Daily acceptance below the lower edge of the confluence zone would remove the clean retest case. LTC would then be trading beneath the Fibonacci level, the nearby July reference and the trendline area at the same time. One intraday wick would not settle that question; the close and the next day’s response would.

The close matters more than the first dip Fast moves often produce sharp retracements, especially after momentum indicators become stretched. Readers therefore do not need to treat every move below the recent high as a failed rally. The daily close shows where the market was willing to finish the session, while the follow-through reveals whether that response has held.

For Litecoin, $66.60 is the first signpost beneath the market. The $61-$64 range carries the real structural weight. A recovery after a test there would give the breakout more credibility; failure to reclaim it would leave the chart without its strongest new support cluster.

A return toward $61–$64 would therefore be a test, not a verdict. The distinction becomes clear only after Litecoin either holds the zone and moves back above it, or begins closing beneath it without a recovery.

Litecoin Hits 8-Month High as ETF Holdings Set Record — Can Bulls Clear $75?
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Both institutional and speculative demand are rising for Litecoin price. However, derivatives data suggests leverage, not spot buying, is driving most of the rally.

Open Interest Nears 2026 PeakLitecoin’s futures open interest (OI) climbed to around $670 million, just below its yearly peak of roughly $690 million set in January. OI added about $140 million in two days and has more than doubled since the June low.

Litecoin Open Interest / Source: CoinglassThe increase is not just a result of rising prices. Measured in LTC, open interest grew by roughly 25% over the past week, according to Glassnode. This confirms that traders are opening new positions.

The last time leverage reached these levels, it did not end well. In January, OI peaked as LTC rolled over from above $80. Over the following weeks, the price dropped to around $53.

ETF Holdings Hit Record HighMeanwhile, US spot Litecoin ETF balances tracked by Glassnode reached a record of about 175,000 LTC. Canary Capital’s LTCC added roughly 39,000 LTC in its largest inflow to date, and its holdings have nearly doubled since January.

Litecoin ETF Balances / Source: GlassnodeNotably, ETF balances rose even during the June crash to $41.

Still, scale matters. The latest inflow is worth about $2.8 million, while open interest grew by roughly $270 million over the same week. ETF demand is growing, but it is too small to carry the price alone.

Litecoin Price Analysis: Bulls Test Key ResistanceOn the daily chart, LTC broke above the 0.5 ($62.09) and 0.618 ($67.47) Fibonacci retracement levels in a single candle. The price then tested the 0.786 zone near $75, where it broke down in late January.

LTC daily chart / Source: TradingviewThe move above the May high around $60 marks the first higher high since the February–May range, following a series of higher lows since June.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 81, its highest reading this year. There are no signs of bearish divergence, but overbought conditions raise the odds of a short-term cooldown.

What’s Next for LTC?A daily close above $75 could open the way toward $80 and the January high of $84.89.

In case of a correction, $67.47 acts as the first support. Below, the $60–62 zone, where the 0.5 level meets the former May high, should serve as strong support. A daily close below $56.70 would put the breakout in doubt.

With leverage near yearly highs, a pullback before the next leg up remains a realistic scenario.

Litecoin price nears $75 as a golden cross tests the strength of its rally
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin price has climbed above $74 after breaking through the $64–$65 resistance area, while a golden cross on the daily chart has given traders another reason to watch whether the rally can clear $75.

Summary

Litecoin price reached about $74.77 on Sep. 24 after opening near $61.85. The daily 50-day moving average has crossed above the 200-day average near $51. The 4-hour chart places immediate resistance at $75, followed by $78.13. CoinGlass’s three-day heatmap shows potential liquidation leverage around $75–$77. Litecoin (LTC) price traded near $74.20 when the daily LTC/USDT chart was captured, up about 20% from its daily open. The price had briefly reached $74.77, extending a recovery from the mid-September lows and pushing well beyond the $64–$65 area that had held back earlier gains.

The daily chart also shows the 50-day moving average at about $51.33, above the 200-day average near $50.67. Traders call that crossing a golden cross. Both averages sit far below the current price, so the immediate question is whether buyers can hold the breakout near $70 and push through $75.

Litecoin price daily chart — Sep. 24 | Source: TradingView Litecoin Foundation data added to the activity surrounding the move. The organization reported on Sep. 23 that more than 17 million LTC, worth over $1 billion, had moved across the network within 24 hours. The measure tracks blockchain transfers rather than purchases on exchanges, so it does not establish how much of the price gain came from spot demand.

Litecoin’s $75 test comes after a sharp 4-hour advance The 4-hour chart shows LTC moving rapidly through several marked price levels. After trading below $65 earlier in the session, it cleared the $65.63 trading-range boundary, moved above the $68.75 pivot and passed $71.88.

Litecoin price 4-hour chart — Sep. 24 | Source: TradingView The latest 4-hour candle reached about $74.29 and stood near $74.19 when the chart was captured. Price was therefore close to $75, the next resistance marked by the chart’s Murrey Math levels. A move above $75 that holds could bring $78.13 into focus.

The pace of the climb matters for that test. The 4-hour BBP momentum reading rose to 15.07 as LTC approached $75, reflecting how far and how quickly the price had moved above its recent range. Strong momentum can carry a breakout further, but buyers would still need to defend the levels cleared during the rise.

The daily AO indicator also climbed to 8.47, one of its highest visible readings in months. Its rise supports the change in momentum shown by the price candles, while the golden cross reflects a slower shift in the daily trend. Neither signal confirms that $75 has been broken.

CoinGlass’s three-day liquidation heatmap shows bands of potential liquidation leverage near $75 and higher toward $77. If LTC rises into those bands, short positions may face pressure to close. The bands mark possible liquidation levels, however, rather than liquidations that have already occurred.

Litecoin liquidation heatmap | Source: CoinGlass Earlier trading showed how quickly short covering could affect LTC. A one-hour rise from roughly $61.92 to $66.36 early on Sep. 24 coincided with reported short liquidations across major exchanges. CoinGlass data also showed Litecoin futures open interest above $500 million, pointing to substantial outstanding positions as the rally developed. Open interest does not reveal whether those traders expect a rise or fall.

What happens if LTC cannot hold the breakout? If LTC turns lower before clearing $75, the 4-hour chart puts $71.88 at the first marked level below the current price. A drop through it would shift attention to the $68.75 pivot, followed by the former trading-range boundary at $65.63.

The heatmap shows potential liquidation leverage below price as well, with bands around $69–$71 and $64–$66. A decline into those areas could add to volatility. Their presence does not mean LTC must revisit them.

The $64–$65 area is especially relevant because it capped the previous advance before the Sep. 24 surge. Holding above it on a pullback would show that buyers continue to defend the breakout. Falling back below it would put LTC inside its old range, even though the daily moving averages have crossed.

Coinbase’s U.S. lending service provides a separate use for Litecoin. The exchange lists LTC as eligible collateral for USDC loans through Morpho on Base for qualifying customers, excluding residents of New York. That availability does not establish a link to Sep. 24 buying, leaving the $75 price test and the levels beneath it as the clearer near-term measures of the rally.

Litecoin Price Jumps 20% – What Is Driving LTC?

Altcoins

24 September 2026 | 19:45 Litecoin surged 20% while much of the crypto market weakened, combining a technical breakout, renewed onchain attention and unusually heavy derivatives trading.

Key Takeaways LTC reached an intraday high near $74.7. Price broke through its previous $60.6 ceiling. Adjusted network volume exceeded $1 billion. Derivatives activity followed the accelerating breakout. RSI indicates severely stretched short-term momentum. Why is Litecoin rising today? No single announcement fully explains the move. The available evidence instead points to three developments arriving in sequence: LTC broke above resistance near $60.6, the Litecoin Foundation highlighted more than $1 billion in adjusted network volume, and derivatives activity expanded as price accelerated.

The timing matters:

Litecoin moved above $60.60, ending the range that had contained price through much of September. The Litecoin Foundation reported increased network activity on September 23, giving traders a fundamental data point to attach to the breakout. The September 24 candle accelerated toward $75 while futures turnover reached almost $2 billion. This does not prove that the network data caused the entire rally. Litecoin had not announced a major protocol launch or another event that required investors to buy LTC by the time the chart was captured.

The performance was nevertheless notable because it occurred while Bitcoin and several large cryptocurrencies were under pressure. Coindoo’s examination of the broader crypto-market decline linked that weakness to rising yields, renewed oil-price pressure and profit-taking after the previous rally.

What does 17 million LTC moving onchain mean? On September 23, the Litecoin Foundation reported that more than 17 million LTC, worth over $1 billion, had moved across the network during the preceding 24 hours. It described the figure as adjusted economic volume.

Seventeen million LTC represents roughly 22% of Litecoin’s circulating supply. However, that does not mean 22% of all coins changed owners, nor does it show that investors purchased $1 billion of LTC. The same coins can move more than once, and onchain transfers do not reveal whether the sender sold, reorganized custody or moved funds between services.

The Foundation’s post also did not separate merchant payments, exchange transfers, institutional movements and other transaction types. The figure therefore confirms substantial network use, but it cannot identify who transferred the coins or why.

There is another reason to keep the number in perspective. The largest daily reading reported in May reached approximately $2.51 billion. The latest figure is meaningful, but it is not a record for the year.

The breakout is strong, but price is stretched On the Binance LTC/USD daily chart, Litecoin opened near $61.94, briefly slipped to $61.7 and then reached $74.7. It was trading near $74 at 16:40 UTC, placing the unfinished candle approximately 20% above its opening level.

Litecoin reached $74.7 during an unfinished daily candle as RSI climbed to approximately 84.5. Source: TradingView. Volume had reached approximately 101,300 LTC, visibly exceeding the activity recorded during most recent sessions. Because the daily candle was still open, its price, volume and indicator readings could all change before the close.

The first nearby test is the $74.5- $75 area. That zone combines the session high with a round-number price marker.

On the downside, the more informative area sits between approximately $60.6 and $62.50. The lower boundary marks the former range ceiling, while the upper boundary covers the base of the latest vertical move. This area is not confirmed support until buyers successfully defend it during a pullback.

A close back below $60.60 would place LTC inside its former range and weaken the breakout. If that happens, the September price step around $57.50-$58 would become the next visible area to examine.

The moving averages show a transition, not full alignment Litecoin was trading above all three major daily averages:

50-day average: approximately $51.3 100-day average: approximately $47.9 200-day average: approximately $50.6 The 50-day average has moved slightly above the 200-day average, a development often called a golden cross. However, the 100-day average remains below both. The structure is therefore improving, but the three averages have not formed a fully ordered long-term bullish alignment.

Price was also approximately 44% above the 50-day average. That distance illustrates the speed of the advance, but it leaves the moving averages too far below the market to guide the next short-term reaction.

Futures followed the breakout, but do not prove a squeeze When checked, CoinGlass showed approximately $1.97 billion in 24-hour LTC futures volume, compared with about $373 million in tracked spot turnover. Open interest stood near $690 million, while recorded liquidations totaled approximately $4.87 million.

The futures figure was more than five times the displayed spot volume. That comparison signals heavy derivatives participation, although the panels may cover different venues and instruments and should not be treated as a precise market-wide ratio.

The data also does not prove that a short squeeze caused the 20% gain. CoinGlass did not provide a reliable long-versus-short liquidation split in the captured reading. Without that breakdown, it is impossible to determine how much of the buying came from forced short closures.

The relatively limited liquidation total compared with overall futures turnover suggests that more than automatic position closures was involved. New speculative positions, discretionary buying and market makers responding to the price move may all have contributed, but the available figures cannot separate them.

The first pullback will test the breakout What would change the technical reading?

Higher-range case

LTC corrects but holds the $60.60–$62.50 breakout area. That would show that buyers are willing to defend prices above the former September range.

Failed-breakout case

LTC closes back below $60.60 as volume and derivatives activity fade. That would place price inside its previous range and turn attention toward $57.50-$58.

Daily RSI reached approximately 84.5 during the unfinished candle. An RSI above 70 describes unusually rapid upside momentum; it does not guarantee an immediate reversal. Strong trends can remain overbought, although the probability of sharp intraday swings generally rises once price becomes this extended.

The network-activity figure helps explain why Litecoin attracted fresh attention, while the break through $60.60 provided a level around which traders could act. Derivatives activity appears to have amplified the move, but the available liquidation data does not establish a squeeze as the primary cause.

The first pullback, not the size of today’s candle, will show whether Litecoin has entered a higher trading range.

Litecoin surges 8% as network activity reaches new heights
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin surged roughly 8% in a 24-hour window, reaching intraday highs near $69 and touching eight-month price levels, as the network underneath it suddenly got very busy.

The catalyst was hard to ignore: the Litecoin Foundation reported that over 17 million LTC, representing approximately $1 billion in adjusted economic volume, moved across the network in a single day.

What actually happened Spot trading volume nearly tripled from levels recorded around September 18, climbing to roughly $948 million. Futures open interest crossed $500 million in the same window, suggesting that traders were not just buying and holding; they were taking on leveraged positions, betting on continued momentum.

The price broke above a technical resistance cluster sitting between $64 and $65. LTC’s intraday range ran from $59 to $69.

Daily active addresses on the network fluctuated between 200,000 and over 300,000 during recent periods.

Analysts watching the setup have pointed to $71 as the next meaningful upside target if buying pressure holds. A close back below $64 would unwind much of the technical case and invite sellers back into the picture.

Why Litecoin, why now Litecoin launched in 2011 as a faster, lighter version of Bitcoin.

LitVM, a Layer-2 solution being developed for the Litecoin network, aims to bring smart contract functionality to a chain that has historically been limited to simple value transfers.

ETF-related flows have also entered the conversation. Institutional appetite for crypto exposure through regulated products has expanded well beyond Bitcoin, and Litecoin has been part of discussions around broader crypto ETF product development.

Reading the market implications The $1 billion in daily transfer volume represents genuine network utilization at scale relative to LTC’s circulating supply. Over 17 million LTC moving in a day is a meaningful fraction of what exists.

For traders already in the position, the key level to watch is the $64 support zone. A hold there keeps the bullish structure intact. A breakdown invites a reassessment of the whole setup, and given how thin the order book was on the way up, the way down could be equally sharp.

If LitVM matures and attracts meaningful developer activity, the network’s utility case expands beyond peer-to-peer payments, which has been Litecoin’s primary pitch since 2011.

Litecoin network activity rises to $1 billion as price holds above $56.13 support
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin is experiencing a notable surge in network activity, with adjusted economic volume approaching $1 billion in recent days. Despite this uptick in on-chain transactions, the price of Litecoin has seen some volatility, trading at $60.78 after a daily decrease of 3.49%. The highest price recorded within the last 24 hours reached $64.64, highlighting the current resistance level for the cryptocurrency.

Technical Analysis Points to Key ThresholdsMarket data shows that Litecoin climbed from the low-$50 range in early September, breaking through the previous resistance of $56.13. This level now serves as a critical support point for traders monitoring downside risks. If Litecoin remains above $56.13, attention will likely turn to the upper resistance near $64.64. A move below this support could accelerate a decline toward the next key level at $48.42.

Technical indicators offer mixed signals. On the daily chart, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 68.07, just below the overbought threshold of 70 and above the average of 63.56. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line sits at 2.85, above the signal line at 2.12, with a positive histogram reading of 0.74, reflecting sustained momentum.

Although these indicators suggest an underlying bullish trend, market observers note that price momentum could slow as technical levels are approached. Monitoring the RSI becomes especially important in such scenarios, since entering overbought territory could prompt caution among traders.

According to the Litecoin Foundation, “$1 billion of value, over 17M Litecoin, moved across the Litecoin network in 24 hours.” The Foundation added that while the latest figure highlights robust on-chain value transfer, May’s adjusted economic volume peaked at $2.51 billion over 24 hours.

Derivatives Market Activity IntensifiesIn the derivatives segment, open interest for Litecoin contracts has continued to rise. CoinGlass reports that open interest grew from approximately $370 million in mid-September to more than $500 million as of September 22. Trading volumes also increased, with recent transactions ranging from $680 million to $730 million, among the highest levels observed for Litecoin this year.

Elevated open interest typically indicates more active positions in the market, although this metric alone does not show whether traders are collectively bullish or bearish. The confluence of increasing open interest and robust trading volume has supported the current bullish undertone, despite the recent pullback.

On-Chain Adoption and Meme Token SpotlightBeyond derivatives, DeFiLlama charts reveal that Litecoin’s total value locked (TVL), active addresses, and transaction counts remain high as September draws to a close, signaling ongoing interest among users.

In parallel, the surge in market attention extends to the rapidly evolving meme token sector. Here, timing and choice of tokens are critical, as seen in cases like “Niu Lai,” where an initial $99 investment reportedly grew to approximately $370,000 within days, according to Fomo App data. Platforms such as Fomo App enable users to track token launches, investor trades, and activity rankings in real time, helping market participants stay alert to emerging opportunities in the meme token universe, where internet trends can swiftly translate into major gains.

The overall technical outlook for Litecoin remains constructive, with network activity, derivatives interest, and positive momentum providing context for recent price movement. The focus remains on Litecoin’s ability to hold $56.13 as support and challenge resistance at $64.64.

Technical analysts emphasize that any failure to hold the $56.13 support level may direct attention to $48.42, while maintaining momentum above $64.64 could spark renewed bullish sentiment.

Litecoin price jumps 8%—can LTC break through $65?
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin [LTC] jumped over 8% over 24 hours to about $62 as buyers returned across the wider crypt market.

The move carried LTC to its highest price since June. However, the area between $63.80 and $65 could determine whether the rally continues or begins to lose momentum.

Litecoin trading activity nearly doubles Market data showed Litecoin rising from below $57 to an intraday high near $63.80 before giving back some gains.

Its 24-hour trading value soared about 93% to over $520 million. Both value and price rose, which implies more traders joined the market.

However, the coin was not rising alone. It was joined by Bitcoin, which increased 5.7%, breaking above $85,000, and several of the other large crypto coins, too.

In its latest move, Litecoin has now extended its recovery surge from around $51.50 to $62 and more. That is still only close to 20 percent since bottoming.

Can LTC move beyond $65? The daily chart confirms that Litecoin is now moving above the levels that previously prevented it from recovering.

Also trading well clear of its immediate past averages, which are clustered around the $50-$55 level. What this means is that the market has moved from floundering beneath this area to seeing it as a base or area to work with.

The first challenge now sits near the $63.80 price area, which is the session’s current high. After that level, $65 is the main level to watch.

Source: TradingView A daily close above $65 will show that not only have the buyers kept control following the rise, but it may also open the door to a much bigger bounce.

If it’s not able to clear that area it would not immediately end the rally. LTC may just retreat towards $58-60 and still be sitting close to its recent progress.

A deeper fall below that range would bring attention to the $54–$55 price area, where buyers may attempt to defend the breakout.

The daily candle was still open when the chart was captured. Litecoin’s closing price will therefore provide a clearer signal than its temporary intraday high.

Final Summary Litecoin gained more than 8% as its 24-hour trading volume nearly doubled. LTC faces resistance around $63.80–$65, while $58–$60 provides the nearest support area.

Zcash (ZEC) spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew $98.2 million in the week ending September 18, the largest inflow among 14 crypto products. Ethereum (ETH) funds posted the only outflow at $140 million.

The weekly totals mask a volatile round trip. Both Ethereum and Bitcoin (BTC) products sold off hard midweek, and only one of them recovered in time.

Two Bad Days in Washington, Then a Scramble BackBoth complexes opened the week in the green. Bitcoin ETFs took in $160.04 million on Monday, while Ethereum products added $121.02 million.

That reversed on Tuesday, when the Senate rejected cloture on the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act by 49-50. Bitcoin funds lost $450.33 million that session, their worst of the week.

Then the Fed raised rates 25 basis points to a range of 3.75% to 4% on Wednesday, its first increase since 2023. Bitcoin shed another $295.98 million, and Ethereum lost $224.11 million.

Bitcoin turned on Thursday and pulled in $433.03 million on Friday, recovering the $746.31 million it lost across the two policy sessions. Its weekly total landed at $6.2 million, the smallest absolute figure in 141 weeks of trading.

Ethereum took longer to turn. Its outflows ran for three straight sessions and totaled $404.82 million before a $143.80 million Friday, leaving the week short.

A Four-Week-Old Fund Outdraws Everything ElseMeanwhile, the Zcash ETF has now logged four consecutive positive weeks since launching in late August, taking in $271 million in total. Assets jumped 40.5% last week to $914.5 million.

That makes Zcash the third-largest altcoin ETF product, behind XRP (XRP) and Solana (SOL) and ahead of nine others. Trading volume reached $11.42 billion, or 32.5% of all spot crypto ETF turnover.

Solana added $13.2 million, extending a streak to 12 straight positive weeks. XRP took in $9.6 million, roughly half the previous week’s $19 million.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) flipped to a $3.1 million inflow after losing $26.4 million. Chainlink (LINK), Avalanche (AVAX), Tron (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), and Hedera (HBAR) together drew under $4.8 million, while BNB and Polkadot (DOT) recorded no flows at all.

Net flows across all 14 products totaled negative $5 million, against a 4.89% rise in combined assets to $123.9 billion. Whether buyers chase the rebound or keep sitting it out should show in next week’s figures.

Litecoin holds $51 support as open interest jumps to $400 million
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin is currently hovering near a crucial support level as the cryptocurrency market navigates mixed technical signals and continued investor engagement. The price of Litecoin stands at $51.44, reflecting a 3.22% decline in the past 24 hours, even as trading activity among derivatives traders appears to be growing.

Key technical levels and momentum indicatorsLitecoin faces immediate resistance at the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA), positioned at $53.43. Although the asset briefly moved above this threshold in September, it failed to sustain momentum and slipped back below the mid-$50 range.

The 200-day EMA is widely regarded as an important gauge of long-term market trends. Surpassing this level could strengthen bullish sentiment and potentially shift the focus to the recent high set around $56. In contrast, continued weakness below this resistance may result in further consolidation within the current price range.

Momentum indicators provide additional context, with the MACD histogram turning negative and the MACD line dropping below the signal line. This combination signals waning short-term bullish momentum. However, Litecoin remains above a key support area, keeping both upward and downward scenarios viable in the immediate future.

For bullish traders, a decisive move above the 200-day EMA would serve as a confirmation of renewed buying pressure, while a failure to hold support between $49.50 and $50.00 could lead to increased downside risk.

Open interest signals active participationOpen interest for Litecoin futures has grown from about $300 million in July to over $400 million by September, based on CoinGlass data. This trend suggests that investors are opening new positions despite the recent weakness in price. High open interest is generally seen as a sign of continuous market involvement, especially when market volatility or consolidation persists.

Trading volumes peaked during late August and early September as Litecoin approached its most recent highs. Although volume has moderated since then, current participation remains above levels recorded earlier in the summer.

MetricJulySeptemberOpen Interest$300 million$400 millionPrice Peak–Mid-$50Industry events and community relevanceThe Litecoin Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Litecoin development and adoption, has continued to maintain a presence at major industry gatherings. David Schwartz, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Foundation, appeared this week at Conf3rence 2026 in Dortmund, Germany. This participation adds visibility to Litecoin, even if it does not serve as a direct catalyst for the price.

The Foundation encouraged the community to support Schwartz’s appearance, highlighting the ongoing dialogue and relevance of Litecoin within global blockchain discussions.

While technical analysis drives near-term market direction, continued engagement from the Litecoin community and increased network activity sustain the asset’s profile during a period of uncertain price movement.

For traders, attention remains focused on whether Litecoin can reclaim the 200-day EMA and convert resistance into support. Success could revive bullish momentum, while a break below support risks triggering renewed selling pressure.

Litecoin’s next significant move will likely be determined by its ability to hold or break these critical technical levels, with the market watching closely for signals in the coming sessions.

Litecoin trades near $51 as price tests $49-$50 support ahead of FOMC
LTC Litecoin
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Litecoin (LTC) is currently trading just above $51, hovering near a crucial technical support zone between $49 and $50. The recent weakness in Litecoin’s price, which saw it slipping from the mid-$50 region, has brought renewed investor focus to this support area and triggered caution among traders navigating shifting market structures.

Key LTC support and technical structureLTC traded near $51.20 on September 16, after losing approximately 3.5% in the previous session. The price opened near $53.15 and closed at $51.26, with an intraday low around $50.80. This movement positioned Litecoin close to a technical boundary at $49, which analysts have identified as the key lower limit of a broader trading range.

Recent technical analysis highlights a possible “range-low deviation,” as LTC briefly dipped below $49 before attempting to recover. The sustainability of this recovery depends on whether Litecoin consistently closes above this level. If the price falls below $49 for several sessions, the resistance structure could give way, exposing the next lower support zones.

Holding above $49 keeps Litecoin within the current range structure, but repeated daily closes beneath this level would signal structural weakness and leave the lower end of the trading range unprotected.

Live price data and ongoing analysis from market research providers underline Litecoin’s habit of consolidating near significant technical zones, suggesting that this area will guide near-term price action.

Bearish technical signals and momentum indicatorsShort-term analysis remains subdued. On the daily chart, TradingView’s technical summary points to a sell signal, mainly due to the position of the moving averages. The 20-period moving averages are clustered near $51.67, with the 50-period sitting around $52.50. The 100- and 200-period averages remain above $53, placing LTC below most trend indicators.

For price recovery, LTC would need to break through the $52-$54 range, a zone heavily influenced by these averages. If successful, this would indicate that downward pressure is easing and that the asset may be regaining short- and medium-term momentum.

Momentum signals remain mixed. The 14-period Relative Strength Index is at 38-39, which is closer to oversold than overbought, while the MACD holds at about -0.52. The Stochastic %K also gives a sell reading, reinforcing the bearish short-term outlook.

If LTC hovers near oversold indicators yet continues downward, technical weakness can persist in spite of temporary momentum shifts.

Crucial price ranges and resistance areasLitecoin’s price action is focusing on a narrow band, with short-term pivot supports near $51.05, $50.85, and $50.71, and resistance levels at $51.39, $51.53, and $51.73. Analysts identify $50.50 as a key downside threshold that, if breached, would present a more significant technical decline. The next major support is highlighted near $42.

On the upside, the $53.50–$54 range is emerging as a critical barrier. Crypto analysts, such as @cryptoWZRD_ and Sober_Investor, have noted that $50.50 is a pivotal level for downside confirmation, while $53.50 forms the first strong resistance zone. Failure or success in these ranges will likely define Litecoin’s next directional move.

The Federal Reserve’s policy decision, due September 16, has raised volatility expectations among investors.

A recent Reuters poll found most economists anticipate the Fed will hold rates at 3.50%-3.75%, though some are expecting at least one more rate increase this year. Shifts in rate policy can directly affect global risk appetite and liquidity, which typically influence both Bitcoin and Litecoin price action.

Analysts observe that Litecoin’s technical test at $49-$50 could intersect with heightened volatility from the FOMC decision, potentially resulting in sharp moves through key support or resistance levels. Overall sentiment remains cautious while traders await further clarity from the Federal Reserve’s guidance.

Mini dictionary: FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee), the policymaking body of the US Federal Reserve, sets key interest rates and monetary policy, which can have strong effects on financial and cryptocurrency markets.

Near-term outlook: watching the structural levelsThe $49 level remains the central focus for Litecoin’s short-term outlook. Sustaining price action above this key support—in addition to reclaiming the $51.50–$52 area—would raise the chances of negating the current bearish bias. If a move above $53.50–$54 follows, a recovery toward higher resistance levels may come into play.

Conversely, losing $49 support would likely trigger further downside, confirming the breakdown of the established structure. The next technical reference, in this scenario, sits at $42.

At present, Litecoin remains range-bound within a technically weak context, awaiting direction from both market structure and the upcoming FOMC policy signal. Daily and weekly closes following the Fed decision will be key to determining whether LTC stabilizes within its current range or experiences further declines.
