CROWDFUNDINSIDER: Ethereum zkRollup focused Loopring Winds Down Its Decentralized Exchange (DEX) Operations
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring, one of the earliest projects to bring zero-knowledge rollup technology to Ethereum, has announced the immediate closure of its decentralized exchange and automated market maker (AMM). The decision, shared publicly on June 28, 2026, ends all crypto trading activity on the platform and takes the supporting relayer offline without delay.

The project originated in 2017 from a vision focused on using zero-knowledge proofs to dramatically improve Ethereum’s scalability and reduce costs for trading and payments.

It became the first zkRollup deployed on Ethereum mainnet around 2019–2020 and once supported significant activity.

However, usage has declined sharply in recent years.

According to on-chain data trackers, Loopring’s total value locked fell to roughly $8 million, representing a drop of nearly 99% from its peak above $760 million in late 2021.

In their statement, the team explained that Loopring never achieved broad adoption.

The original design lacked a full virtual machine, which prevented easy composability with other Ethereum applications and limited real-world uses such as seamless payments.

https://t.co/beXdvEBGru

— Loopring💙 (@loopringorg) June 28, 2026

The core contributors described themselves primarily as engineers rather than business developers, noting they struggled to build the partnerships and marketing needed for wider growth.

Additional pressures, including the delisting of the project’s native LRC token from major centralized exchanges in 2026, hastened the outcome.

Newer zkEVM-based rollups, which offer full compatibility with Ethereum smart contracts, have also rendered Loopring’s specialized architecture increasingly outdated.

Rather than continue operating a service with minimal activity, the team chose to conclude operations in an orderly manner.

This marks the latest step in a gradual wind-down. Loopring had already discontinued its smart wallet services in mid-2025.

User funds held on the Loopring Layer 2 remain secure, the team confirmed.

To simplify the process, the project will handle asset distribution directly instead of requiring users to perform self-custody exits via Merkle proofs.

In the coming days, a complete list of final balances—including spot holdings in ETH and ERC-20 tokens plus liquidity positions that will be automatically converted—will be published and linked from the project’s X account.

Users will have a two-week review window to check their figures and report any discrepancies.

After the review period, the team will upgrade the relevant smart contract to enable batch withdrawals controlled by whitelisted addresses.

Funds valued at $10 or more will then be sent in batches directly to users’ Ethereum Layer 1 wallets.

The crypto focused project will cover all gas fees associated with these transfers. Balances below the $10 threshold will be excluded to keep the process manageable.

The entire distribution is expected to wrap up within a few weeks once it begins.

Support inquiries can be directed to [email protected] once the balance list appears.

The closure underscores the intense competition in Ethereum’s Layer 2 landscape, where projects offering greater flexibility and developer tooling have gained stronger traction. Loopring expressed gratitude to its users and hope that the zero-knowledge advancements it helped enable during the early days will now continue to benefit the crypto ecosystem through other initiatives.

Loopring shuts down DEX – What went wrong for Ethereum’s L2 pioneer?
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring, an Ethereum [ETH] layer-2 scaling protocol, has announced it will shut down its decentralized exchange, marking the end of one of Ethereum’s earliest layer-2 pioneers.

Declining user engagement over several years was a major factor in Loopring’s decline. However, it seems that this decline in engagement was largely due to the growing popularity of zkEVM technologies, which provide full support of the EVM.

Source: X Unlike Loopring’s (LRC) specialized zkRollup design, zkEVMs allow existing Solidity applications to deploy without extensive redevelopment, accelerating ecosystem growth. That transition steadily reduced daily active addresses, transaction volumes, DEX activity, and protocol fees before the shutdown on the 28th of June.

Therefore, it appears that innovative technology can establish a platform as a leader in terms of scalability. If such a platform does not also offer widespread composability, then ultimately it cannot maintain that position.

Yet, unless Loopring develops its zk-Rollup technology into either Layer-3 or modular solutions, the discontinuation of Loopring represents the beginning of Ethereum’s next step in scalability.

Can Loopring’s technology survive beyond its DEX? Loopring’s shutdown raises questions on how much Ethereum has lost one of its first layer-2 pioneers, with the innovation in layer-2. A decline in all key metrics such as TVL, transaction volume, daily users, and liquidity has made the Loopring independent DEX less relevant.

The Layer-2 protocol directly pointed out that the reason for this downward trend was low adoption, low composability, bad business practices, and 2026 delisting from exchanges using LRC. These trends point toward the possibility that the original protocol will be unable to reverse.

Source: Loopring on X However, the network’s technology tells a different story. Loopring’s current zkrollup architecture continues to provide a known secure and high-throughput design.

As long as these features can be used by other protocols in Layer-3 or modular infrastructure, then Loopring’s contributions to Ethereum history may continue. Alternatively, if they cannot, then this may signal the death of one of Ethereum’s first Layer-2 specific innovations.

Final Summary Loopring’s shutdown reflects years of weak adoption, falling activity, and pressure from zkEVM competitors. Loopring now depends on whether its zkRollup technology can survive through Layer-3 or modular infrastructure.

Loopring Ends Its Pioneer zk-Rollup DEX After Years of Limited User Adoption
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
The Loopring team closed its decentralized exchange due to poor adoption, obsolescence, and operational issues. The team will return all user funds directly to their Ethereum wallets and cover all gas fees during the distribution process. Loopring officially shut down its decentralized exchange, marking the end of one of Ethereum’s earliest zk-rollup platforms. All trading functionalities were immediately stopped, and the relayer was turned off right after the official announcement made via Loopring’s X account.

The shutdown ends a project that once demonstrated how zero-knowledge rollups could efficiently scale Ethereum. Loopring raised $45 million through its initial coin offering in 2017.

Despite its technical merits, Loopring acknowledged that users never adopted the platform on a meaningful scale. The team pointed out that the lack of a virtual machine on the platform did not allow developers to compose and develop more advanced real-world applications. Without payment use cases and an evolving ecosystem, Loopring found it difficult to compete with new infrastructure built for blockchain technology.

                                        Source: X Article

Additionally, Loopring admitted it was good at the software but failed to build the business acumen needed to drive adoption. Furthermore, it mentioned that the delisting of the LRC token throughout 2026 only worsened the problems.

New zkEVM Networks Outperformed Loopring’s Technology Finally, the development team admitted that modern zkEVM-based networks were able to surpass its proprietary technology. New projects such as zkSync, Scroll, and StarkNet created Ethereum-based environments that allowed deploying smart contracts more easily and developing a decentralized applications ecosystem.

The team admitted that it simply did not make sense anymore to continue working on Loopring. This is why the exchange was closed down in an orderly fashion. The project had earlier ended wallet services in July 2025 owing to scaling issues. The latest update marks Loopring’s eventual exit from the original decentralized exchange business.

Direct Distribution of Assets by Team The Loopring team made assurances that all user funds are still safe despite the imminent closure. Final balances will be computed, an inventory of assets provided, and two weeks allocated to check balances before any distribution can take place.

Distributions will follow after the two-week period, whereby the Loopring team will distribute assets directly to the wallets in batches. The team will automatically convert liquidity pool holdings to the respective token, take care of all gas fees, and undertake the whole process without the need for Merkle proofs.

Loopring shuts down Ethereum’s first zk rollup DEX after years of decline
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring has announced the immediate closure of its decentralized exchange and automated market maker after concluding that years of limited adoption, business shortcomings, and technological competition left the project without a sustainable future.

Summary

Loopring has shut down its decentralized exchange after citing weak adoption, business challenges and competition from newer Ethereum scaling networks. Users will receive their remaining balances through direct Ethereum wallet distributions, with Loopring covering the gas fees. More than 60 crypto projects have closed in 2026, with Pyra, Carrot, Botanix Labs and several others also ending operations. Loopring disclosed the decision in a post on X on Sunday, confirming that all trading services have stopped and the protocol’s relayer has ceased operating. The team attributed the shutdown to three factors: weak user adoption, limited business development capabilities, and competition from newer zkEVM based Ethereum scaling networks.

The developers acknowledged that Loopring pioneered zero knowledge rollup technology but stated that the protocol’s architecture lacked a virtual machine, which prevented composability and limited practical payment use cases. These design constraints restricted ecosystem growth, the team wrote.

Engineers behind the project also admitted they excelled at technical development but failed to build the commercial side of the business. The announcement added that exchange delistings of LRC during 2026 accelerated a process that had already become unavoidable.

The team further stated that modern Ethereum compatible zkEVM networks eventually outpaced Loopring’s specialised design. Rather than continue operating what it described as a hollow service, the developers chose to discontinue the platform.

User withdrawals to continue after trading ends Loopring confirmed it will calculate final user balances before distributing funds directly to users’ Ethereum wallets in batches. The team also committed to paying the gas fees associated with those withdrawals.

Wallet services had already closed in July 2025 after the project cited scaling challenges. The latest announcement completes the shutdown of Loopring’s remaining core products.

The protocol reached a total value locked of about $760 million during the crypto market peak in November 2021, but that figure has since fallen by almost 99% to roughly $8 million, based on L2Beat data. LRC has followed a similar trajectory, falling to about $0.01 from its all-time high of $3.75 recorded during the same month.

Loopring secured one of its highest-profile partnerships in 2021 when it agreed to power GameStop’s NFT marketplace, which launched the following year.

Crypto closures continue through 2026 RootData has recorded more than 60 crypto projects and protocols that have discontinued services during 2026, as prolonged market weakness and changing technology trends have affected businesses across the sector.

As previously reported by crypto.news, Pyra announced plans to wind down after concluding it could not recover from losses linked to the Drift exploit. The crypto payments platform halted new user registrations, cancelled payment cards, and gave customers until Sept. 15, 2026, to withdraw funds and export private keys through a dedicated web portal while it prepares to distribute any future Drift recovery tokens.

Other projects have also exited the market this year. Solana-based yield protocol Carrot attributed its shutdown to losses connected to the Drift Protocol exploit, while Bitcoin Layer 2 developer Botanix Labs stated that user demand had not reached a level capable of supporting long term operations.

THE BLOCK: Ethereum zkRollup project Loopring sunsets DEX, citing lack of meaningful adoption
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring announced that it has shut down its decentralized exchange (DEX) services, with its relayer going offline immediately after the announcement on Sunday.

Though widely recognized as the first zkRollup project on Ethereum, the project said in an X article that it never gained measurable traction.

"As the first zkRollup, we lacked a virtual machine — no composability, no real‑world payment use cases," the team wrote. "That limitation kept our ecosystem from growing."

Loopring also said its zkEVM architecture had been outpaced by modern solutions that are fully compatible with Ethereum smart contracts. The lack of business development and external pressures, including the major exchange delistings of its native token LRC, also contributed to the decision, the team said.

Direct refunds Loopring noted that it will return users' assets directly and cover all transaction costs, instead of requiring users to generate and submit Merkle proofs. The team said the approach would be the "fairest and most hassle-free" way for users.

In the coming days, Loopring said it will publish a full list of users' final balances on Layer 2, including spot balances and AMM positions. Following a two-week review period of the list, the team plans to then upgrade the Loopring DEX smart contract to only allow team-controlled, whitelisted addresses to transfer assets out of the Layer 2.

The closure of Loopring's DEX comes roughly a year after the project sunsetted its DeFi products, including Dual Investment and Portal, saying it would instead focus on improving the Layer 2 network. Loopring had announced the closure of its wallet service earlier that year. Loopring's CEO, Steve Guo, also stepped down in August 2025.

The price of LRC fell 4.24% in the past 24 hours to trade at $0.012 as of 2:45 a.m. ET on Monday, according to The Block's Loopring price page.

"Loopring was born from a pure cypherpunk vision — we were coders who believed that zero‑knowledge proofs could scale Ethereum," Loopring wrote. "Rather than running a hollow service, we choose to end it gracefully."

‘Engineers, Not Business Operators’: Why Loopring Is Shutting Down Its DEX
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring will distribute funds directly to users and cover transaction fees. Users do not need to take any action.

Loopring, the first project to launch a zero-knowledge rollup on Ethereum, has announced that its decentralized exchange will immediately stop all trading services. The relayer has already been taken offline.

The team said the decision was made with regret after years of trying to keep the platform operating.

Outdated Technology and Poor Adoption According to the announcement, one of the main reasons behind the closure was the platform’s technical limitations. Loopring said its early zkRollup design did not include a virtual machine, which limited composability and prevented broader real-world applications, including payment use cases. These restrictions hindered ecosystem growth and made it difficult for the platform to compete with newer technologies.

The team also admitted that it had stronger engineering capabilities than business development skills, while describing itself as “engineers at heart, not business operators.” In addition, the delisting of LRC from major exchanges in 2026 added further pressure to the project.

“We poured countless late nights into building the very first zkRollup on the market. That achievement still fills us with pride. But today, we must face reality and announce, with deep regret, that Loopring DEX will cease all trading services effective immediately.”

Loopring explained that newer zkEVM solutions, which support Ethereum smart contracts and offer broader compatibility, have surpassed its specialized architecture. The team said its technology now feels outdated and that shutting down the service was preferable “rather than running a hollow service.”

The company stated that user funds remain safe and announced a distribution process to return assets. Instead of requiring users to submit Merkle proofs through the original self-custody withdrawal mechanism, Loopring said it will handle the entire process itself and cover all transaction fees. The team acknowledged that this method is more centralized but described it as the simplest option for users.

Loopring also revealed plans to publish a complete list of final account balances over the coming days. This includes spot holdings and liquidity pool positions, which will be converted into underlying tokens. A two-week review period will allow users to verify balances before distributions begin.

— Coin Bureau (@coinbureau) June 29, 2026

According to the team’s statement, three primary factors drove the decision: the platform’s inability to achieve substantial user adoption, deficiencies in business development expertise, and obsolescence caused by emerging zkEVM innovations.

“To be honest, Loopring never gained meaningful adoption,” the team wrote.

The Journey From Promise to Closure The protocol secured $45 million through a 2017 token offering and demonstrated the viability of scaling Ethereum using zero-knowledge rollup technology. This foundational work influenced the development of subsequent projects including zkSync, Scroll, and StarkNet.

Loopring’s most significant breakthrough arrived in 2021 when GameStop selected it to support the company’s NFT marketplace initiative. This collaboration brought substantial mainstream visibility to the protocol.

However, the momentum proved unsustainable. The platform’s total value locked reached its apex near $760 million in November 2021, only to decline approximately 99% to current levels around $8 million.

The LRC token mirrored this trajectory, collapsing from its record high of $3.75 to current trading levels near $0.01.

Major Exchange Removals and Executive Departures External developments compounded the platform’s struggles. South Korean exchange Upbit removed LRC from its listings in early 2026, referencing questions about operational transparency and project viability. Binance implemented a similar delisting several weeks thereafter.

Reports indicate the project’s chief executive officer departed in August 2025. Prior to this, Loopring had already terminated its consumer wallet service in July 2025.

Centralized Withdrawal Process Raises Questions A particularly notable aspect of the shutdown involves modifications to the withdrawal mechanism. Loopring is implementing a smart contract upgrade that limits withdrawals exclusively to team-controlled whitelisted addresses.

This change eliminates the original trustless withdrawal capability — a fundamental security component that previously enabled users to extract funds directly from Ethereum without team intermediation.

The development team characterizes this approach as more accessible for users, eliminating the technical requirements of generating cryptographic proofs. The statement candidly acknowledges the method is “more centralized than the original self-custody exit mechanism.”

User accounts with terminal balances under $10 will receive no distribution whatsoever.

Reflects Wider 2026 Industry Contraction Loopring’s discontinuation represents part of a larger pattern. According to RootData, over 60 cryptocurrency projects have ceased operations during 2026, as an intensifying bear market eliminates user bases and revenue streams for smaller development teams.

Additional 2026 closures encompass a16z-backed Entropy and infrastructure platform Syndicate.

The team has committed to publishing a comprehensive final balance roster, establishing a two-week dispute resolution period for discrepancies, then executing batch distributions to users’ Ethereum addresses while absorbing transaction fees.

Users are advised to verify their listed balances thoroughly and remain aware of the $10 minimum eligibility requirement for fund recovery.

Loopring permanently shut down its decentralized exchange after falling behind EVM-compatible layer 2 rivals
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring, an early pioneer of zero-knowledge proof-based scaling solutions on Ethereum, has announced the permanent closure of its decentralized exchange. The project’s transaction relaying infrastructure has been disabled, with the team stating that its current architecture is unable to compete with the new generation of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible layer 2 networks.

Architecture losing ground in the raceAlthough Loopring was among the first to implement a zkRollup solution for Ethereum, the team acknowledged it could not drive meaningful adoption. The protocol’s lack of EVM compatibility restricted the development of diverse decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and payment solutions. As developers increasingly favored EVM-compatible layer 2s, Loopring’s ecosystem suffered from limited liquidity and stunted growth.

Mini glossary: EVM compatibility means a blockchain network can run smart contracts written for Ethereum with minimal changes. zkEVM combines this capability with zero-knowledge proof security in a layer 2 solution.

According to the project, the Ethereum scaling landscape has evolved significantly in recent years. The latest solutions now offer both zero-knowledge proof security and EVM compatibility, enabling developers to deploy applications without the need to rewrite existing codebases. This shift has made standalone zkRollup platforms, which require a separate development environment, increasingly uncompetitive.

The Loopring team emphasized that the lack of EVM compatibility limited the growth of DeFi applications and payment solutions on its platform, prompting developers to migrate to EVM-compatible layer 2 networks.

Internal challenges and LRC impactIn addition to technical constraints, internal shortcomings also played a role in Loopring’s decline. While the project described itself as technically strong, it admitted lacking the business development capabilities necessary to boost adoption. The delisting of its native token LRC from top cryptocurrency exchanges in 2026 further exacerbated these challenges.

Following the shutdown announcement, LRC traded at around $0.01228. The token declined 2.95% over 24 hours, with its market capitalization hovering near $16.8 million. This price movement suggests investors are monitoring the development, but there was no immediate severe market reaction.

User balances to be returned automaticallyLoopring has announced a fully automated refund process for user funds. The team confirmed that users will not need to generate Merkle proofs or initiate separate withdrawal actions to retrieve their layer 2 balances.

Once the calculations—including adjustments for liquidity pool balances—are finalized, distribution details will be publicly shared. Balances over $10 will be transferred, without fees, directly to users’ associated layer 1 wallets.

Transformation in the layer 2 marketLoopring’s exit marks a new stage in the evolution of zkRollup-based scaling on Ethereum, moving from an experimental phase to one dominated by interoperable zkEVM chains. This transition highlights that technical innovation alone is not sufficient; developer engagement, ecosystem size, liquidity, and viable business models are also critical for success.

Grayscale: Bitcoin bear market has two evolution paths, still bullish on crypto assets in the long term.

According to Grayscale’s latest research report, Bitcoin has pulled back more than 50% from its October 2025 peak of roughly $125,000, dropping below $60,000. The report frames this decline as a cyclical correction within Bitcoin’s long-term uptrend, not a reversal of its long-term trajectory. Grayscale notes that Bitcoin’s recent downward pressure stems from multiple factors: expectations of a hawkish shift in Federal Reserve policy, uncertainty over the legislative prospects of the CLARITY Act, balance sheet strains at crypto firm Strategy, and investor concerns about potential security risks from quantum computing. Notably, after U.S. President Donald Trump nominated hawkish Kevin Warsh as Fed Chair, markets have shifted from pricing in interest rate cuts to expecting hikes this year—undermining Bitcoin’s investment thesis as an asset hedging against currency devaluation. Two core scenarios shape Bitcoin’s outlook: In the baseline case, if the CLARITY Act passes the Senate smoothly, Strategy improves its balance sheet, and the Fed pauses rate hikes, Bitcoin may have neared the bottom of this cycle. In the pessimistic scenario, if the bill fails to pass this year, digital asset firms continue deleveraging, and stubborn inflation forces the Fed to raise rates, Bitcoin prices could fall further. Still, given this bull run has been relatively moderate and institutional demand is more solid, this pullback is not expected to replicate the roughly 80% peak-to-trough decline seen in historical cycles. Grayscale added that it remains bullish on the long-term growth prospects of public blockchains and digital assets over the next decade.

Official data shows its intelligent signal system has an average win rate of 83%. Additionally, the Insiders.bot team stated the agent successfully predicted multiple World Cup match outcomes, including results for Norway, Japan, Germany, Australia, and France, and accurately foresaw Spain’s failure to win its match against Cape Verde, plus a draw between Portugal and Colombia.

Pioneering zk-rollup Loopring closes DEX, citing lack of adoption
LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Ethereum’s first zero-knowledge rollup, Loopring, announced Sunday the closure of its decentralized exchange and automated market maker, ending all trading services and halting the relayer effective immediately.

In a post on X on Sunday, the team cited three main reasons for the closure: its failure to gain meaningful adoption, a lack of business development skills and being technologically surpassed by modern zkEVM solutions.

“To be honest, Loopring never gained meaningful adoption,” the team said. “As the first zk-rollup, we lacked a virtual machine – no composability, no real‑world payment use cases. That limitation kept our ecosystem from growing.”

Loopring was a technical pioneer of its time, raising $45 million in a 2017 initial coin offering and helping to prove that scaling Ethereum via zk-rollups was viable. But technology evolves fast in the crypto industry, and it was ultimately surpassed by the more capable successors it helped inspire, such as zkSync, Scroll and StarkNet.

The team said they are “engineers at heart,” not business operators, excelling at writing code but never developing the “passion or skills for business development.”

“External pressures – including major exchange delistings of LRC in 2026 – only accelerated the inevitable,” they said.

The team added that pressure from more advanced competitors, which are fully compatible with Ethereum smart contracts, “while our specialised architecture now feels obsolete,” compounded the decision to gracefully end it, “rather than running a hollow service.”

Loopring had already shut down its wallet services in July 2025, citing scaling challenges.

With the DEX closure, the team said it will be calculating and publishing all final user balances, then distributing funds directly to users' Ethereum wallets in batches and covering gas fees.

Loopring's total value locked is about $8 million, down almost 99% from the $760 million peak in November 2021, according to L2Beat. Its native token, LRC, has collapsed by a similar amount to $0.01 from its all-time high in the same month of $3.75.

One of Loopring’s biggest milestones was a 2021 partnership with GameStop to power its NFT platform, launched the following year.

Crypto winter bites deep this yearThe demise of Loopring adds to the growing list of crypto closures this year, as the bear market deepens and previous-cycle narratives no longer apply.

More than 60 crypto projects and protocols have already shuttered services in 2026, according to RootData. Some of the more notable ones include a16z-backed decentralized self-custody solution Entropy, app-chain infrastructure protocol Syndicate and AI blockchain platform Yupp.

Chainlink Expands Price Feeds to Cover 25 Trading Pairs
AE Aeternity ETH Ethereum LEND Aave [OLD] LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Chainlink has announced that it now offers price reference data for more than 25 trading pairs. These kinds of feeds are vital for decentralized finance applications.

As of today, Chainlink’s list includes data on 16 Ethereum trading pairs and nine USD trading pairs. Notable trading pairs include ETH/USD, BTC/USD, and EUR/USD.

So far, three sites have integrated Chainlink’s data. Synthetix, an asset backing platform, is supporting USD trading pairs. Meanwhile, the lending platform Aave is supporting ETH pairs. Loopring has also added support for one pair in each category.

This development marks a significant expansion for Chainlink: until recently, the platform only offered price data for seven trading pairs.

Now, Chainlink’s data collection is the largest of its type, according to the project itself.

How It Works Unlike CoinMarketCap and other market aggregators, Chainlink does not gather its data from exchanges. Instead, it gathers data from independent node operators.

These node operators are given incentives to provide accurate data. They also undergo security reviews and are resistant to Sybil attacks that could disrupt reporting.

This means that the data can be audited and verified for accuracy and integrity. It is possible to do so simply by visiting the project’s website.

In the image below, Chainlink shows which data sources are online and displays the time of the next update. Ethereum’s average price is shown in the center:

Via Chainlink The Importance of Oracles As Chainlink has noted, decentralized finance (DeFi) services require reliable access to market data in order to execute transactions and to swap assets.

Though some DeFi services can make use of basic on-chain data, that option is not practical for the vast majority of services. “Obtaining the most reliable price for an asset requires aggregation from multiple off-chain data sources,” Chainlink explains.

That is precisely the role that Chainlink provides as an oracle provider, along with other comparable platforms such as Aeternity and Band Protocol.

Of course, the fact that oracles require strict data handling means that they are not comprehensive. Though Chainlink may be the largest oracle platform, it offers far less data than market aggregators, which track price data for thousands of assets.

However, as demand for DeFi grows, it is likely that demand for oracles will grow along with it — and Chainlink is by far the top-performing project in its category.

Loopring price prediction – LRC ramping up to break its downtrend?
LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring is currently in an uptrend after bouncing from its multi-month support. Investors are keen to see how far this rise can sustain itself and move higher in the coming weeks. Let’s find that out in detail in this Loopring price prediction.

Since its launch, Loopring (LRC) has seen an all-time high of $3.83, followed by a 96.98% drop in price. At the time of writing, it is now trading at $0.1153, which is around a 65.8% decrease from its price of $0.3347, which was recorded four months ago in December 2024.

LRC 1d chart | Source: crypto.news\ In this article, we’ll discuss Loopring price prediction by giving you its short-term and long-term price forecasts and exploring whether this token can continue its bullish run.

The Ethereum-based cryptocurrency token of Loopring, an open protocol created to create decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges, is called LRC.

The stated objective of Loopring is to create a hybridized product that combines the greatest features of both centralized and decentralized exchanges by combining centralized order matching with decentralized on-blockchain order settlement.

How does Loopring work? Loopring’s primary concept is to integrate aspects of decentralized and centralized cryptocurrency exchanges to produce a protocol that will benefit from each of its own advantages and get rid of inefficiencies.

Currently, the primary way that cryptocurrency trading services operate is through centralized exchanges.  Although centralized exchanges are very popular and handy, there are some risks associated with using them, the main one being their custodial nature.

User funds are at danger of being lost whole or in part as a result of prospective cyber attacks, hostile actors within the exchange, or regulatory action because these exchanges keep their money for them between the sites of deposit and withdrawal.

Lack of transparency is another significant issue with centralized exchanges. Since trades are kept in the exchange’s internal records rather than being settled on the blockchain, the exchange can manipulate prices and use user funds for illegal purposes while they are in custody.

A new kind of trading facility called a decentralized crypto exchange (DEX) has surfaced in recent years in an attempt to solve these issues.  It facilitates direct connections between buy and sell orders and settles trades on a public blockchain rather than retaining customer funds in custody and handling deals internally.

Now let’s discuss LRC price prediction for this year and in the coming years as well.

Loopring price prediction What can be a realistic projection for the LRC token? Let’s dive into the LRC price prediction for 2025 and 2030.

Loopring coin price prediction: short-term outlook According to CoinCodex’s Loopring price prediction for the near future, the token is projected to drop by -7.95% and reach $0.104613 by June 12, 2025.

As of May. 13th, 2025, the overall sentiment of the LRC price outlook has turned slightly bullish, with 15 technical analysis indicators showing bullish signals, 10 indicating bearish trends, and 9 indicators showing neutral forecasts.

Loopring price prediction 2025 For the remaining months of 2025, DigitalCoinPrice predicts that the LRC token’s price could fluctuate between $0.10 and $0.25, and may likely hold a yearly average of $0.23.

CoinCodex projects that the LRC token can trade in the price channel of $0.103878 and $0.188189 in 2025.

While the general sentiment in the financial markets is that 2025 will be the year of the bull, it is important to understand that this prediction also has a chance of being wrong. BTC has already breached the $100k mark, and there is a possibility that it may be at the top of this bull cycle. Hence, it is advised to do your research before investing in LRC or any other cryptocurrency with the hopes of gaining on your investment in 2025.

Loopring price prediction 2030 As per CoinCodex’s Loopring crypto price prediction for 2030, LRC’s price could vary between $0.03014 and $0.33019.

DigitalCoinPrice expects that LRC’s price could climb to $0.55 or $0.62 by the end of 2030.

Changelly predicts that by 2030, the LRC token could range between $0.650 and $1.10.

Before trusting any source that is trying to predict the LRC price prediction for 2030, you should understand that it is a cryptocurrency and, like all other tokens, the LRC  token’s price can be highly volatile.

2030 is five years away, and many cryptocurrencies can become obsolete in that time. This is why it is hard to give a realistic price prediction for any token, including LRC. A great way for LRC to survive these five years and continue its ascent in the crypto market is to continue building its blockchain technology and partner with key players in the digital crypto space. You should research and keep yourself updated with the latest developments in the upcoming years to make an informed investment decision in the LRC token.

Is Loopring a good investment? Before investing in any cryptocurrency, including LRC, please identify and understand the inherent risks that can come due to market volatility. Also, it should be noted that the sentiment in the cryptocurrency market changes quickly, and a token that was once considered the future may also be delisted from major exchanges. Hence, it is advisable to do your research on the token’s fundamentals before having any price expectations for the future of the LRC token.

Will Loopring go up or down? Cryptocurrencies in general experience rapid price swings that are directly driven by market sentiments, community engagement, events like token burns, and so on.

While it is hard to determine how high the LRC token will go, it is important to look out for potential buying factors that may include new partnerships, increased token holders, or viral campaigns in general.

It is also vital that you rely on financial experts and consult them for Loopring price prediction, but even after all that, you should remain cautious, as no one can accurately predict how high or low LRC can go.

Should I invest in Loopring? Before investing in any cryptocurrency or trusting any Loopring price forecast, please identify and understand the inherent risks that can come due to market volatility. Also, it should be noted that cryptocurrencies in general are a highly speculative investment, and their success not only relies on market volatility but also on the constant and sustainable growth of their community. Hence, it is advisable to do your research on the token’s fundamentals, which may very well decide the future of the LRC token.

Loopring to cease wallet operations on June 30
ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Loopring, the Ethereum layer-2 and layer-3 zero-knowledge rollup, has announced it will sunset its wallet operations by the end of June 2025.

According to the Loopring (LRC) team, the Loopring Wallet will go offline permanently on June 30, with users advised to use the intervening time to withdraw their assets.

“Today, we’re sharing some difficult but necessary news: Loopring Wallet will officially cease its operations by the end of June 2025,” the cryptocurrency platform said in an announcement.

The shutdown of Loopring Wallet means the wallet’s smart user interface, accessible via mobile, will no longer be available after the stated date.

Loopring’s Smart Wallet leverage immutable smart contracts to operate. However, access is facilitated via the accompanying mobile app, and its discontinuation means the app will no longer receive updates and will eventually be delisted from app stores.

The team clarified that the closure of the wallet will not impact or disrupt the functioning of the Loopring layer-2 protocol.

Nevertheless, users are strongly advised to transfer their funds and non-fungible tokens to other wallets. Acting early and within the announced timeline will allow Loopring Wallet users to move their assets smoothly and avoid potential disruptions.

According to Loopring’s update, popular alternatives for asset transfers include MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and Rainbow Wallet.

Loopring Smart Wallets suffered a security breach in June 2024, with an attacker compromising user wallets by exploiting vulnerability in the two-factor authentication. The incident saw Loopring temporarily suspend Guardian and 2FA-related operations.

Following the latest announcement, the LRC token traded lower, with a 4% dip extending its losses over the past week into double digits. The token hovered near $0.09, down 13% over the last seven days.

In this article, I will explain everything you need to know about USDT staking, why Loopring’s AI-powered staking platform is a game-changer, and how you can start earning with it.

Staking your USDT is a low-risk way to increase your crypto with limited concern of a price drop (and craziness). Staking is a great way to quickly earn passive income and is an excellent tool for crypto enthusiasts looking for a capped growth strategy. In addition, staking stablecoins like USDT requires no specification on your institutional risk tolerance. However, it is still important to choose a staking platform that will provide good rates. Always do your research on these platforms to verify their safety and security before instead.

Staking USDT with Loopring 2025: With crypto maturing faster than anyone thought possible, 2025 will be a pivotal year in crypto, particularly in the DeFi (decentralized finance) space. Staking stablecoins like USDT

Low Risk with High Returns: Since USDT is pegged to the dollar, you don’t have to worry as much regarding price crashes for the sake of proportionate returns. Loopring offers fixed returns; for example, 5-12% APY (depending on the platform’s terms) is a consistent way to create passive income. AI Driven Performance: Loopring employs artificial intelligence to track the market for you, to ensure you are maximizing your staking opportunity, so your USDT is always working as hard as possible for you. User Friendly for All Types of Users: Unlike other platforms that require cryptocurrency knowledge or a degree in tech, Loopring has a straightforward user interface that is easy for all users to stake. Additionally, with the crypto sector buzzing in 2025, players like Loopring are bringing DeFi truly into the ecosystem with their technology and customer orientated focus.

Staking USDT using Loopring: A Step-by-Step Guide  So you want to get started? Staking USDT using Loopring is as easy as ordering your favorite coffee! Here’s how you can do it:

Get Some USDT: If you don’t have USDT already, you can purchase some on a reputable exchange like Binance, Kraken, or Coinbase. You can choose fiat (USD) via bank transfer, credit card, or some platforms even let you use Apple Pay. Set Up a Web3 wallet: You will need a wallet like MetaMask or Trust Wallet to interact with the Loopring’s smart contract. Download either wallet, set it up, and send USDT to it. Make sure you keep your private keys safe; think of them as the keys to your crypto house! Connect to Loopring: Visit the Loopring website (make sure it is the correct website so that no one scams you). Connect your wallet by pressing the “Connect Wallet” button. It’s just like logging into your favorite app, just in the crypto world! Choose Your Staking Plan: Loopring offers flexible or fixed staking options. Flexible lets you withdraw anytime, while fixed plans (e.g., 30 or 90 days) often give higher returns. Pick what suits your goals. Stake Your USDT: Enter the amount of USDT you want to stake, confirm the transaction, and pay a small gas fee (Loopring operates on Ethereum or compatible chains, so fees are low thanks to Layer 2 tech). The AI will handle the rest, allocating your funds to the best pools. Watch Your Earnings Grow: Sit back and relax! You’ll see your rewards roll in, either weekly or monthly, depending on the plan. You can track everything on Loopring’s dashboard. That’s it! You’re now earning passive income like a crypto pro.

Plans and Pricing Loopring’s AI-powered automated staking platform offers six USDT staking plans tailored to different investment levels. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to go big, there’s something for everyone. Below, you can explore the plans and pricing of Loopring’s USDT staking platform:

Caption 12.50% Daily Profit: Invest 15 to 100 USDT—great for beginners testing the waters.

13.50% Daily Profit: Stake 100 to 800 USDT to step up your earnings.

14.50% Daily Profit: For 800 to 3,000 USDT, enjoy a solid return.

16.00% Daily Profit: Invest 3,000 to 10,000 USDT for even higher rewards.

17.50% Daily Profit: Stake 10,000 to 30,000 USDT and watch your income grow.

20.00% Daily Profit: Go big with 30,000+ USDT and maximize your returns.

Risks to Consider No investment is ever 100% risk-free, and staking USDT is no different. But don’t worry; Loopring was designed to limit those risks to the greatest extent possible. Keep in mind the following:

Smart Contract Risks: The best smart contracts can still have bugs in them. Loopring staking platform utilizes an automated smart contract for staking, which is innovative, but it is still risky. Even audited contracts can have bugs or exploits, and if a hacker finds a bug and exploits that, they can drain the funds, including potentially any USDT you contributed. Platform Reliability: As a DeFi platform, Loopring has no central authority to lean on if anything goes wrong while you’re staking. You should only ever use platforms that have robust reviews and stay away from anything that feels “too good to be true.” Regulatory Changes: Stablecoins such as USDT have always come under regulatory scrutiny. Loopring operates decentralized (which is why you’re staking through Loopring), but just be mindful of news regarding the reserves that Tether is holding, or local news on regulations of cryptocurrencies in your area. If you stake with a trusted platform such as Loopring, and you utilize basic security (like a secure wallet), you can keep the main risks to a minimum.

That’s it! You’re now earning passive income like a crypto pro. Click here to enter the platform

Crypto: Digital Asset Lending Reaches $61.7B and Finally Surpasses Its 2021 Record
AAVE Aave BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Sun 24 Aug 2025 ▪ 5 min read ▪ by Mikaia A.

Summarize this article with:

Numbers are skyrocketing, protocols are exploding, and one wonders: have we already reached the golden age of crypto? Between valuation records, historic loan volumes, and constant innovations, the crypto market seems to be popping champagne week after week. But behind the euphoria, what do the numbers really tell us? And above all, is this rebound healthy and sustainable? We dissected the latest data, and you will see, the devil is in the details.

In Brief CeFi loans reach $17.78B and exceed $35B including DATCO and ETFs. DeFi explodes to $26.47B, but the number of users drops by 27%. Looping strategies artificially inflate borrowing volumes on Ethereum and its Layer-2s. Total crypto loans now exceed $61.76B, a record above the 2021 peak. Is CeFi Coming Back Stronger Than In 2021? Analysis The dollar wobbles, debt soars… and cryptos break records: centralized finance (CeFi), thought to be down since 2023, rebounds spectacularly. Data from Galaxy Research shows $17.78 billion in CeFi loans by the end of June 2025, a 14.66% increase in one quarter. And this figure doesn’t even consider some heavyweights like DATCO or crypto ETF-backed loans.

CeFi Lending market share by quarter – Source: Galaxy Research Including these additional volumes, $12.74 billion of DATCO debt and between $3 to $6 billion of marginal loans on crypto ETFs, the $34.8 billion 2021 record is surpassed.

Galaxy reminds us that:

As of June 30, Galaxy Research recorded $17.78 billion in outstanding CeFi loans. This represents a quarterly growth of 14.66%, or $2.27 billion.

Why this strong comeback? First, more attractive rates thanks to competition. Second, post-2022 caution: players like Ledn have streamlined their offers and secured their collaterals. Finally, company treasuries’ demand is exploding, seeking structured returns.

In short, CeFi is back. Not by ideology, but by efficiency.

DeFi: An Explosion… but Fueled by Incentives? DeFi also hits new heights: $26.47 billion loans by the end of June 2025, a 42.11% quarterly growth. A record number, far surpassing the 2021 peak. But does this really mean adoption?

The dollar value of outstanding loans on DeFi applications has strongly rebounded since Q1, increasing by $7.84 billion (+42.11%) to reach $26.47 billion – a new all-time record.

On the surface, all seems perfect. But one number raises questions: the number of active Ethereum addresses is 27% lower than in May 2021. In other words: more volume, but fewer users. What is happening?

Net borrowing rate of ETH using stETH as collateral – Source: Galaxy Research The answer is one word: looping. On Aave, “liquid leverage” strategies allow borrowing ETH with stETH, restaking it… then repeating. A form of circular leverage.

Galaxy explains: “Users implement “looping strategies” enabling them to arbitrage the yield of their collateral assets against borrowing costs.”

DeFi grows fast but not always healthily. Watch out for incentive bubbles.

DATCO and ETFs: The Trojan Horse of Crypto Debt? Little known to the public, Digital Asset Treasury Companies (DATCO) are changing the game. Using classic debt to buy bitcoin or ether, these companies create massive leverage… often invisible.

Galaxy warns:

Due to the absence of new debt emissions by bitcoin DATCOs, the treasury companies’ debt balance has not changed… [but] June 2028 remains the date to watch with $3.65 billion maturing.

Among the pioneers: MicroStrategy (now Strategy), but also newcomers on Ethereum. And through crypto ETFs like IBIT, investors can also borrow on margin against their shares.

What to remember:

$12.74 billion of DATCO debt: not included in total volumes; Estimated $3 to $6 billion in ETF margins, an invisible leverage; $3.65 billion of DATCO debts maturing in June 2028; Loan-to-market-cap ratio still low, ~1.5% vs 3% for US stocks; CeFi + DeFi + DATCO + ETF = over $61.76 billion in crypto loans It’s clear: raw numbers often underestimate reality.

While markets break record after record, innovation continues at the frontier of the real world. Credefi and Brickken open a new path with permissionless debt for real-world assets. Proof that while numbers blaze, the real crypto revolution is just beginning.

Some traders speculated on Guo’s existence when they were disappointed by the sunset of its smart wallet feature. After Guo left the project, the price of LRC surged by 9.1% before gradually dipping. In a recent Medium blogpost titled “Time to Say Goodbye,” Loopring’s (LRC) Steve Guo announced that he is stepping down from CEO as of August 2025. He cited his need to spend more time with his family as the reason behind the abrupt departure.

“It’s never easy to say goodbye, especially to a project I’ve poured so much heart and energy into, but the time has come to move forward,” said Guo.

Loopring is known in the crypto community as an open-source Layer 2 protocol that supports decentralized exchanges and payment systems on the Ethereum (ETH) network. The project became the first to deploy zk Rollup technology to scale ETH.

In his letter to the community, he addresses the highs and lows that the project has experienced while he was at the helm. He claimed that the project was able to build a DeFi-powered ecosystem on top of the existing foundation, with the addition of native features like dual investment, block trade, and portal.

On the other hand, one of the project’s major investments ended up becoming a double-edged sword when it announced that it would be ceasing operations for its Smart Wallet segment. Back in late June this year, the protocol shut down support for its wallet interface, prompting lots of ire from the community.

Questions about Loopring CEO’s existence After the project ceased wallet operations, many traders took to posting their complaints on X. In fact, some even speculated on the existence of Steve Guo as the project’s CEO. One trader questioned whether Guo was really the person running the protocol.

“I have never heard a word out of Steve Guo. Who even know if the guy exists. Who the hell runs Loopring is the question?” said the trader.

“Rats fleeing the ship, Steve Guo the fake CEO who did nothing but rot the protocol to the ground while Wang drained Loopring. The gaslighting has been unbelievable,” said another trader back in June 2025.

At press time, the community appears to have not caught wind on Guo’s resignation as most posts date back to when the protocol had just announced the end of its smart wallet feature. However, the online sentiment surrounding Guo seems to be that of a “fake CEO” and a “JPEG” image of him.

Not only that, the official account for Loopring has yet to announce Guo’s official resignation on its page.

LRC price surges 9% after CEO steps down Following Guo’s departure from the protocol, instead of a price dip LRC seems to have risen in value by 9.1%. At press time, it is trading at around $0.09945. This is a sharp contrast compared to when other leadership figures in the crypto community, like the departure of Story Protocol (IP) co-founder Jason Zhao in mid-August, led to their project’s token slipping.

However, the sudden rise gave way to an eventual correction in the cycle by the beginning of September. The token experienced a sharp spike in price toward $0.115 before quickly retracing to the $0.099–$0.100 range. This surge suggests that traders initially reacted to the news with speculative buying, possibly fueled by uncertainty and expectations of new leadership potentially reshaping the project’s direction.

The retracement highlights profit-taking and market caution as investors reassess fundamentals after Steve Guo’s announcement.

Price chart for Loopring’s token along with 30-day Moving Average and RSI | Source: TradingView LRC’s Relative Strength Index and Moving Average reflected volatility in the charts. The RSI spiked into near-overbought conditions during the rally but has since cooled to around 47, showing that bullish momentum has fizzled out and the asset has moved into neutral territory.

Meanwhile, the price has just slipped below the 30-period moving average of around $0.1005, which indicates the possibility of a potential short-term bearish crossover if the level fails to hold as support.

Loopring rises 12% – 3 factors that will help LRC bulls further
LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News

Key Takeaways Loopring exhibited good levels of on-chain activity. Combined with the breakout from the triangle pattern, the chances of an LRC rally look good in the coming days.

Loopring [LRC] witnessed a 2,383% increase in daily trading volume, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

The $136.15 million market cap altcoin saw $332 million in volume in the past 24 hours, more than twice its market cap.

In fact, altcoins such as Ripple [XRP], Story [IP], and Axie Infinity [AXS] saw a surge in trading volume on the South Korean exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, over the weekend.

In that context, Loopring’s activity increased not only on Bithumb but also on Binance and MEXC.

Triangle pattern breakout for Loopring Source: LRC/USDT on TradingView The increased volume came at a fortuitous time for LRC. Over the past six weeks, LRC consolidated within a symmetrical triangle before breaking out bullishly on the 31st of August.

However, bulls quickly ran into resistance near $0.12 and were fighting to flip $0.1 to support at the time of writing. The $0.09-$0.1 area appeared to be a sturdy demand zone to the south.

Therefore, the triangle breakout should offer buyers a good opportunity to add Loopring to their holdings.

OBV, which had trended higher throughout August, spiked sharply alongside the move. On top of that, the breakout was reinforced by rising volume and supportive moving averages, both pointing toward bullish momentum.

The immediate targets were reclaiming $0.10 as support and pushing toward $0.125.

Profit-taking fears muted Source: Santiment The on-chain metrics also signaled market confidence in the token.

Daily Active Addresses saw a dip in the second half of August, but have been steady since July. It spiked higher on Sunday, as did the token’s Velocity and Transaction Volume.

Velocity measures the average number of times a single token changes addresses daily. Higher figures show the token is more frequently traded.

Having said that, sharp increases in velocity sometimes hint at profit-taking, raising caution.

Moreover, Dormant Activity remained silent, quelling fears of a network-wide distribution. Therefore, Loopring holders can remain hopeful of further gains.

LRC Price Recovery? LRC Holds At $0.05607 As Loopring Grabs Liquidity Sweep, Printing Bullish Bet

Loopring price action is indicating a potential move to the upside as flagged by market analyst Crypto Patel. Loopring (LRC) is a cryptocurrency that utilizes zkRollup technology to provide users with fast, low-cost trading and payments on the Ethereum network and multiple blockchain networks. LRC’s price, which currently stands at $0.05641, has been down 2.2% and 3.4% over the past week and month, a reflection of the downtrend in the broader crypto market.

As of today, December 19, 2025, most cryptocurrency markets are trading under selling pressure, confirmed by the latest prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum, which currently hover at $88,263 and $2,964, down 4.5% and 8.5% over the past week, respectively. These negative figures give a clear picture that most crypto markets are experiencing broad declines and losses as macroeconomic uncertainty and consolidation fatigue weigh their prices down.

$LRC Price pushed up, grabbed liquidity above recent highs, and ran straight into a bearish order block: Now showing rejection.

— Crypto Patel (@CryptoPatel) December 19, 2025 Why Buy-Side Liquidity Sweep Matters However, after recent downturns, Loopring is witnessing a potential bullish reversal and buy interest. The analyst identified a classic pattern popularly recognized as a buy-side liquidity sweep, where large players like institutions, market makers, and smart money bolster prices into zones where several stop-loss orders are sitting. As flagged by the analyst, LRC is gaining upside momentum, as so far, its price has reached the 0.0573 price zone, where big investors triggered stop-loss orders in the past.

That price sweep was accompanied by a significant rebound that previously made LRC surge higher and record strong trading volume. With the rising momentum, attention now shifts to the $0.0623 zone, which corresponds with a previous price top and could function as a resistance level, according to the analyst.

The current price of Loopring is $0.05641. What Is the Next Move For LRC? The analyst is closely watching to assess if LRC can hold above the liquidity zone or if it will retreat to test lower supports. Amid the ongoing heightened, volatile swing period in the larger market, LRC has found its footing and is consolidating, hinting potential accumulation zone where buyers are moving into the market. This market behavior signifies a robust foundation for a short-term bullish move.

The rising demand for zk-Rollups scaling solution to enhance transactions throughout while maintaining security in DEXs (decentralized exchanges) is an underlying driver for LRC’s price strength. This demand impacts the price of Loopring and other crypto market providers of zero-Knowledge Rollups solutions, such as StarNet (STRK), zkSync (ZK), etc.

Bitcoin Exchange Upbit Announces It Will Delist This Altcoin! Here Are the Details
BTC Bitcoin LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
13.02.2026 - 06:06

Update: 13.02.2026 - 06:06

Upbit, one of South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced it will end support for trading the Loopring (LRC) token. According to the official statement, the exchange will cease LRC trading on March 16th.

As a result of this decision, trading support for Loopring on the Upbit platform will be completely terminated. Such delisting decisions are generally made based on the liquidity of the asset, developments on the project side, regulatory requirements, and the exchange’s user protection policies. Upbit’s statement did not provide details regarding the reasoning behind the decision.

With the delisting process underway, users are advised to review their open orders before the trading support ends and take necessary steps to mitigate potential risks. Furthermore, since the asset will no longer be tradable on the exchange after trading support ceases, investors are expected to consider withdrawal options to manage their assets.

Loopring stands out as a project running on Ethereum, particularly known for its Layer-2 scaling solutions. However, recent increased volatility in the cryptocurrency markets and tightening listing standards by exchanges are raising the risk of delisting for many altcoins.

Upbit’s decision to discontinue Loopring is noteworthy because it coincides with a period of increased regulation of the cryptocurrency market in South Korea and an acceleration of risk management measures by exchanges.

Users are advised to follow Upbit’s official announcements until March 16th to stay updated on the process.

FINANCE FEEDS: Upbit Delists Loopring Amid Heightened Compliance Scrutiny
LRC Loopring
CoinGecko News
Original source text
South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit has announced it will delist Loopring (LRC), marking another instance of tighter listing oversight within one of Asia’s most closely regulated digital asset markets. The exchange said trading support for LRC will end in mid-March, with withdrawals to remain available for a limited period thereafter, giving users time to manage positions before services are fully discontinued.

The decision follows what Upbit described as a comprehensive internal review of the project. According to the exchange, concerns were raised regarding disclosure standards, business transparency, and the sustainability of the project’s roadmap. While Upbit did not allege misconduct, it indicated that the token no longer satisfied the platform’s listing maintenance criteria, which are designed to protect investors and ensure adequate levels of project communication and operational clarity.

Delisting timeline and user impact Under the announced schedule, deposits of Loopring have already been suspended, and trading support will cease on the specified termination date. After trading ends, open orders will be automatically canceled. Withdrawals will remain available for a defined grace period before full support is terminated. Upbit advised users to review their holdings carefully and take necessary action to avoid disruptions once services conclude.

For retail investors, the immediate implication is reduced liquidity within the South Korean market. Upbit commands a significant share of domestic crypto trading volume, and removal from its platform can materially affect a token’s accessibility and price stability in the region. Market participants often view delistings by major exchanges as negative catalysts, particularly when they stem from compliance or transparency concerns rather than purely commercial considerations.

Broader regulatory context in South Korea South Korea has developed one of the world’s more structured regulatory environments for digital asset trading. Exchanges operating domestically are subject to strict reporting standards and periodic asset reviews. Projects listed on major platforms are expected to maintain consistent disclosures regarding development progress, governance structure, tokenomics, and risk factors. Failure to meet these standards can result in trading suspensions, watchlist designations, or full delistings.

In recent years, local exchanges have demonstrated greater willingness to remove tokens that fall short of evolving compliance benchmarks. This reflects both regulatory pressure and a broader industry shift toward enhanced investor protection. For exchanges, maintaining credibility and regulatory alignment has become a strategic priority, particularly as institutional participation in digital assets expands.

Loopring, an Ethereum-based layer-2 protocol designed to facilitate scalable decentralized exchange infrastructure, continues to operate independently of any single exchange listing. However, delisting from a major venue such as Upbit may limit exposure to one of the region’s most active retail trading bases. The longer-term impact on LRC’s liquidity and valuation will depend on trading activity across other global exchanges and the project’s ability to address the concerns highlighted during the review process.

As exchanges worldwide refine listing frameworks in response to regulatory developments, Upbit’s decision underscores the growing importance of transparency, consistent disclosure, and operational sustainability in the digital asset sector. The move serves as a reminder that exchange listings are conditional, and that ongoing compliance is increasingly central to a token’s continued market access.

US Treasury Secretary: AI boom may boost productivity and help curb inflation.

US Treasury Secretary Bessent told CNBC in an interview that he hopes the Federal Reserve will remain "open-minded" about the inflation pattern after the reversal of Iran-related energy price hikes. Bessent noted that the U.S. could enter an economic environment marked by high GDP growth without a corresponding rise in traditional inflation. He cited that in the 1990s, Alan Greenspan foresaw that office modernization and the internet could drive non-inflationary growth, and allowed the economy to keep expanding. Bessent believes the U.S. has a strong chance of seeing a similar scenario again. When asked whether the Fed still needs to worry about potential inflation and whether interest rate cuts are possible this year or next, Bessent declined to comment. However, he argued that it is necessary to stay open-minded about the price or inflation impacts from the Iran conflict, and monitor inflation performance after those effects subside. Bessent also said an open mind is needed, as the AI boom could boost productivity and deliver disinflationary effects, helping inflation return to the Fed’s target level. He added that he believes Kevin Warsh will choose the optimal path that meets both the Fed’s inflation and growth mandates. Bessent also noted that Warsh previously took a hawkish stance on inflation.

Crypto Alert: Binance to Delist These Eight Tokens on April 1
FORTH Ampleforth Governance HOOK Hooked Protocol IDEX IDEX LRC Loopring NTRN Neutron RDNT Radiant Capital SXP SXP
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Binance has announced the delisting of eight tokens from its spot trading platform, effective April 1, 2026. The tokens, Arena-Z (A2Z), Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH), Hooked Protocol (HOOK), IDEX (IDEX), Loopring (LRC), Neutron (NTRN), Radiant Capital (RDNT), and Solar (SXP), failed to meet the exchange’s updated listing standards following a periodic review.

The announcement, published on March 18, sent immediate shockwaves through the affected tokens’ markets. A Binance delisting is one of the most severe liquidity events a token can face, removing access to the world’s largest crypto exchange by volume in a single stroke.

The delisting news arrived on an already difficult day for crypto markets. Fed Chair Jerome Powell stated that rate cuts won’t come unless there is clear progress on inflation. Bitcoin fell sharply following Powell’s remarks, with the market now watching closely for BTC’s next move.

The Criteria Behind the Cuts Binance conducts regular reviews of listed assets across a range of factors, including development activity, trading volume, network security, community engagement, team commitment, and evidence of unethical conduct. The exchange also considers changes to tokenomics, ownership structure, and responsiveness to due diligence requests.

The eight tokens delisted span a wide range of projects, from DeFi infrastructure plays like Loopring and Radiant Capital to newer ecosystem tokens like Neutron, a Cosmos-based smart contract platform.

None have been given specific reasons for their removal, consistent with Binance’s standard practice of citing cumulative review criteria rather than individual project failures.

Token Prices Crash After Announcement The market reaction was swift and brutal for several of the affected tokens.

For instance, HOOK, the token behind Hooked Protocol, fell 13.5% to $0.01466, with a 24-hour range of $0.01392 to $0.01707. The price chart shows a sharp cliff immediately after the announcement, followed by a prolonged period of depressed trading.

Despite the drop, HOOK’s 24-hour trading volume of $14.7 million significantly exceeds its market cap of $4.22 million, suggesting active panic selling rather than illiquidity.

HOOK price performance. Source: CoinGecko FORTH, the governance token for the Ampleforth protocol, also took a big hit. It dropped 14.6% in 24 hours, sliding from a high of $0.7208 to a current price of $0.6137.

Market cap now sits at just $7.06 million, a figure that helps explain why it no longer meets Binance’s liquidity thresholds.

FORTH price performance. Source: CoinGecko NTRN, the native token of Neutron, declined 5.4% to $0.00573, with a 24-hour range of $0.005407 to $0.006148. Its chart tells a slightly different story, an initial sharp drop followed by a volatile bounce toward $0.006 in later trading, before settling back lower.

The partial recovery may reflect community buying or short covering.

A Binance delisting does not necessarily mean a project is dead. Tokens often migrate trading activity to decentralised exchanges or smaller centralised platforms after removal.

But the liquidity loss is significant and rarely fully recovered.

Binance Under the Spotlight The delisting announcement comes as Binance navigates a separate regulatory moment. Binance issued a formal response to a U.S. Senate inquiry examining potential Iran sanctions exposure, addressing a February 24 letter from Senator Richard Blumenthal.

The exchange rejected the claims, defended its sanctions programme, and detailed investigations involving two flagged entities.

On the other side of the ledger, Binance has been reinforcing its institutional standing. Its SAFU fund has hit a milestone following a purchase of 4,500 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 15,000 BTC and overtaking Coinbase.
