, /PRNewswire/ -- iQIYI, China's leading online entertainment platform, has announced an increase in audience engagement across its ecosystem during the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7. Driven by a robust content slate and the rising popularity of multi-terminal viewing, average daily viewing time grew by more than 12% compared to the pre-holiday period.

TV screens remained the primary viewing platform, accounting for nearly 60% of average daily viewing time. In-car viewing also saw a notable year-over-year increase of nearly 60%, reflecting the growing role of premium content as a travel companion during the holiday.

Premium Content Dominates Rankings

iQIYI's diverse slate of dramas, movies, and variety shows served as the primary traffic driver throughout the week:

Dramas: The Suspense Theater production "The Old Story of Yu Hong" emerged as a breakout success, reaching iQIYI's content popularity index of 8,414, a measure of audience engagement on the platform. Its market dominance was further reflected in data from Enlightent, a leading Chinese entertainment data provider, which reported a peak market share of 63.4%. Other key titles, including "A Prophet", "Spring of the Blade", and "Shadow Punisher", maintained a consistent presence within the top five of iQIYI's drama charts.

Movies: Renowned filmmaker Stephen Chow's latest production "Kung Fu Soccer" began streaming on iQIYI on October 3 and instantly topped the film heat index. Additionally, the AIGC internet feature film "The Ferry Man: The Dream of the Princess" performed strongly, with the cumulative revenue-sharing box office from "The Ferry Man" AIGC series - a model where production partners share earnings with iQIYI based on viewership - surpassing RMB 10 million (US$1.5 million) by October 3.

Variety Shows: "Two Stars, One Boss" continued its success, capturing a peak market share of 51.4% on Enlightent's new variety show rankings.

Innovation in AI and Short-Form Content

Engagement beyond simple viewing also rose significantly. Interaction time in Taodou World, iQIYI's virtual community where users can interact in real time with more than 1,000 AI-powered characters from its titles, increased by over 40% during the holiday.

The period also saw a notable rise in the consumption of micro animation and children's content. Average daily viewing time for micro animation surged by 57% during the holiday. For children's content, two major new releases occupied the top two spots on the platform's children's content popularity charts.

IP Engagement Extends to Offline Experiences

iQIYI LAND Yangzhou recorded strong visitor traffic, with families and cross-generational groups representing more than 80% of total guests. The park attracted visitors from across eastern China, including Jiangsu and neighbouring provinces and municipalities such as Zhejiang, Anhui, Shanghai, and Shandong.

Looking ahead, iQIYI remains committed to refining its content strategy and leveraging AIGC to enhance storytelling, ensuring that premium entertainment remains accessible to users whether they are "at home" or "on the road".

, /PRNewswire/ -- On September 23, iQIYI, China's leading online entertainment platform, unveiled a slate of over 350 new titles for 2026–2027 at its iJOY Conference in Shanghai. The company highlighted significant advancements in its All in AI strategy, aimed at revolutionizing long-form content production and fostering a dynamic creator ecosystem. Additionally, iQIYI introduced an upgraded marketing framework, showcasing its commitment to driving innovation across content development and commercial growth.

Announcement of 2026 iQIYI Scream Night taking place on December 5 at Galaxy Arena in Macao

iQIYI Founder and CEO Yu GONG on the company's three AI strategic priorities

iQIYI Chief Content Officer Xiaohui WANG on three major shifts reshaping the industry In his opening remarks, iQIYI Founder and CEO Yu GONG laid out three strategic priorities driving the company's AI agenda: applying the technology across premium live-action and long-form AIGC production, building a healthy content creator ecosystem, and pioneering new content formats enabled by emerging technologies. At the heart of this vision is a commitment to creators. GONG introduced seven dedicated creator service programs built around the vision to make the platform "a community for film and television creators and audiences" where every creator can be seen, earn sustainably, and be recognized.

Premium Content Slate Across Genres

China's film and television industry is entering a period of profound change. iQIYI Chief Content Officer Xiaohui WANG highlighted three major shifts reshaping the industry: the rapid move toward a C2C era of broad creative participation, the rise of a "Minority" era shaped by increasingly niche demand, and the Platinum era, where emotional value commands a premium. He said these shifts would help break the industry's current deadlock of audience fragmentation, narrowing creative scope, and rigid cost structures. As AI makes creation accessible to more people, anyone can become a creator. With generative tools in their hands, ordinary people can collectively become a powerful force driving the industry forward.

In response to these shifts, iQIYI has deployed a diverse, youth-oriented slate of long-form dramas spanning contemporary, historical, romance, suspense, and sci-fi genres. The lineup will bring together top-tier, high-profile actors and acclaimed creative teams across a range of premium productions, while continuing to expand offerings with warm, emotionally engaging stories that resonate with younger audiences.

The platform is also scaling its horizontal-screen, short-form drama presence through three specialized branded theaters, expanding premium supply to serve a broader range of audience needs.

In vertical-screen micro-drama and animation, iQIYI is leveraging established long-form IPs, pairing top talent with diverse themes, and using AIGC to accelerate series development.

In variety shows, the platform maintains a robust portfolio of returning flagship franchises and creative originals, complemented by a co-investment program with Douyin to incubate premium creator-produced variety content and discover new creative voices.

Onsite, representatives from iQIYI and Galaxy Arena announced that the 2026 iQIYI Scream Night will take place on December 5 at Galaxy Arena in Macao. Under the two parties' strategic partnership, the event will return to Galaxy Arena for another three-year residency from 2026 to 2028. As one of iQIYI's flagship annual entertainment events, Scream Night celebrates the year's standout content and creators while highlighting major industry trends.

Premium Content as Foundation, AI as Enabler

At the conference, iQIYI unveiled the trailer for its first full-length hybrid AI multi-season drama "Immortals Over Mortal Love". Leveraging NadouPro, iQIYI's proprietary studio-grade production platform, the series seamlessly integrates cutting-edge filmmaking technology with live-action performances by professional actors. The first season is slated to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2026, featuring 16 episodes of around 20 minutes each.

"This series will open a new chapter for iQIYI and the broader industry," Yu GONG said. "This is not only a technological breakthrough, but a paradigm shift in content creation. AI is empowering our content creation across the board, enhancing the efficiency of premium live-action production, expanding the boundaries of long-form AIGC, improving content creation efficiency, enriching the ecosystem, and delivering more diverse entertainment experiences to users."

The commercial viability of long-form AIGC was validated by "The Ferry Man" series, whose first two installments recouped their production costs within the first week of release. The series generated more than RMB 8 million (approximately US$1.19 million) in cumulative platform revenue-sharing earnings in its first month.

In addition, several feature-length AIGC films from the "Peter Pau • iQIYI Film Theater" were unveiled at the event, with genres spanning adventure, suspense, action, romance, and animation. The initiative is designed to help move AIGC from experimental shorts toward commercially viable feature-length productions. From over 100 global submissions, nine projects were selected for production, with Academy Award-winning Cinematographer and Director Mr. Peter Pau providing comprehensive guidance to ensure high-level professional standards.

Upgraded Marketing Powered by Data and Algorithm

At the event, iQIYI launched the industry's first big-data marketing system designed for household terminals, shifting the focus from individual behaviors to long-term family needs and life stages. The company also co-published the "Content Touchpoint Value Research Report" with Miaozhen Systems, China's leading intelligent marketing platform, offering data-driven insights into how brand advertising translates into sustained business growth. By leveraging AI – from generative content creation to scalable in-drama product placements – iQIYI is evolving brand marketing from a cost-saving exercise into a driver of measurable commercial effectiveness.

Looking ahead, iQIYI remains committed to pioneering AI-driven innovation across its content and marketing ecosystems. By fostering deep collaborations with creators, brands, and industry partners, iQIYI aims to catalyze high-quality growth and redefine the entertainment landscape, delivering next-generation premium experiences to audiences worldwide.

iQIYI has become one of the most polarizing names in Chinese internet stocks. The core streaming business is contracting, losses have returned after two profitable years, and management is betting that AI-driven content production can reset the cost structure.

The 24/7 Wall St. price target for iQIYI (NASDAQ:IQ | IQ Price Prediction) is $1.76, pointing to 42.73% upside from the current price of $1.23. Our recommendation is buy at moderate confidence of 50%, reflecting the gap between AI optionality and cash-flow reality.

Metric Value Current Price $1.23 24/7 Wall St. Price Target $1.76 Upside 42.73% Recommendation BUY Confidence Level 50% A Painful Year, but a Turning Q2 IQ has slumped 47.21% over the past year and 35.94% year to date, with the 52-week range at $0.95 and $2.84.

Q1 2026 revenue fell 13.4% YoY to $913.32 million, and the company posted a net loss of $43.22 million. Q2 2026, reported August 18, showed early stabilization: total revenue of RMB 6.3 billion, non-GAAP operating loss narrowed 80% sequentially to RMB 30.3 million, and operating cash flow rose to RMB 339.6 million.

The headline revenue still fell roughly 5% year over year, which keeps the stock under pressure.

Why Bulls See a Breakout Ahead The bull case rests on AI economics. CEO Yu Gong stated “IQIYI is the beneficiary of AI.” AIGC production is delivering 70% to 90% cost and timeline reductions, and short-form drama market share doubled from 25% in March to 50% in June, reaching #1 in China for the first time.

Overseas membership revenue grew 40% YoY, with Brazil surging 215%+ and Mexico 150%+. A $100 million buyback and a proposed Hong Kong dual listing add optionality. The bull case scenario points to $2.37, a 92.99% return.

The Risks Worth Watching The bear case is credible. FY2025 swung from 764 million CNY net income to a 206 million CNY loss, and the balance sheet carries $636.6 million in PAG loan principal plus roughly RMB 8.2 billion in convertible notes. Content Distribution revenue collapsed 43% YoY in Q1.

Bulls note that SG&A was cut 20% and AIGC recouped production costs within a single quarter overseas, suggesting margin pressure is partly investment-driven. A bear scenario lands near $1.49.

How iQIYI Compares to Bilibili and Baidu Bilibili (NASDAQ:BILI) is the direct China video peer where AI is already translating to profit. Bilibili delivered Q1 2026 EPS of $0.19 on $1.08 billion revenue with advertising up 30% YoY. That contrast (one profitable, one not) is why our target sits below Bilibili’s growth multiple but above IQ’s distressed levels.

Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) is iQIYI’s controlling parent and trades on a P/E near 4. Baidu’s AI Cloud Infra grew 50% YoY last quarter while its legacy business shrank. Both parent and subsidiary are financing painful transitions, and the peer read makes our $1.76 target reasonable rather than aggressive.

Buy the Turn, Watch the Debt My final call is buy with 50% confidence and a 24/7 Wall St. price target of $1.76. Q2’s sharp narrowing of the operating loss alongside real AIGC traction is the tipping factor.

The setup strengthens if short-form drama share holds above 50% and overseas membership growth stays above 30%. It weakens if PAG debt refinancing terms tighten or content margins slip further.

Year 24/7 Wall St. Price Target 2026 $1.76 2027 $2.10 2028 $2.55 2029 $2.95 2030 $3.33 These projections assume iQIYI executes its AI content roadmap and services debt without dilutive equity raises. Significant upside or downside could come from Hong Kong listing execution or shifts in Chinese streaming regulation.

Further information regarding these and other risks is included in the Company’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Non-GAAP Financial Measures

To supplement iQIYI’s consolidated financial results presented in accordance with GAAP, iQIYI uses the following non-GAAP financial measures: non-GAAP operating income/(loss), non-GAAP operating income/(loss) margin, non-GAAP net income/(loss) attributable to iQIYI, non-GAAP diluted net income/(loss) attributable to iQIYI per ADS and free cash flow. The presentation of the non-GAAP financial measure is not intended to be considered in isolation or as a substitute for the financial information prepared and presented in accordance with GAAP.

iQIYI believes that these non-GAAP financial measures provide meaningful supplemental information regarding its operating performance by excluding certain items that may not be indicative of its business operating results, such as operating performance excluding non-cash charges or non-operating in nature. The Company believes that both management and investors benefit from referring to the non-GAAP financial measures in assessing its performance and when planning and forecasting future periods. These non-GAAP financial measures also facilitate management’s internal comparisons to iQIYI’s historical operating performance. The Company believes the non-GAAP financial measures are useful to investors in allowing for greater transparency with respect to supplemental information used by management in its financial and operational decision making. A limitation of using these non-GAAP financial measures is that the non-GAAP measures exclude certain items that have been and will continue to be for the foreseeable future a significant component in the Company’s results of operations. These non-GAAP financial measures presented here may not be comparable to similarly titled measures presented by other companies. Other companies may calculate similarly titled measures differently, limiting their usefulness as comparative measures to the Company’s data.

Non-GAAP operating income/(loss) represents operating income/(loss) excluding share-based compensation expenses, amortization of intangible assets resulting from business combinations.

Non-GAAP net income/(loss) attributable to iQIYI, Inc. represents net income/(loss) attributable to iQIYI, Inc. excluding share-based compensation expenses, amortization of intangible assets resulting from business combinations, disposal gain or loss, impairment of long-term investments, fair value change of long-term investments, adjusted for related income tax effects. iQIYI’s share of equity method investments for these non-GAAP reconciling items, primarily amortization and impairment of intangible assets not on the investees’ books, accretion of their redeemable non-controlling interests, and the gain or loss associated with the issuance of shares by the investees at a price higher or lower than the carrying value per share, adjusted for related income tax effects, are also excluded.

Non-GAAP diluted net income/(loss) per ADS represents diluted net income/(loss) per ADS calculated by dividing non-GAAP net income/(loss) attributable to iQIYI, Inc, by the weighted average number of ordinary shares expressed in ADS.

Free cash flow represents net cash provided by operating activities less capital expenditures.
