Key Takeaways Samsara expects Q2 revenues of $482-$484 million, with consensus at $483.3 million.Samsara's upmarket and land-and-expand strategies are driving adoption across operational workflows.AI monetization and higher AI and cloud costs could influence adoption, margins and profitability. Samsara Inc. (IOT - Free Report) is scheduled to report second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on Sept. 3, after market close.

For the second quarter of fiscal 2027, Samsara expects non-GAAP earnings per share between 15 cents and 16 cents. The consensus mark is pegged at 17 cents per share, indicating an increase of 23.5% from the prior-year quarter’s reported figure. The estimate has remained unchanged over the past 60 days.

Samsara’s earnings beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings in each of the trailing four quarters, delivering an average earnings surprise of 41.4%.

For the second quarter of fiscal 2027, Samsara expects revenues between $482 million and $484 million. The Zacks Consensus Estimate is pegged at $483.3 million, suggesting growth of approximately 23.5% from the year-ago quarter’s reported figure.

Factors to Consider for IOT StockSamsara is expected to maintain a healthy growth trajectory in the second-quarter fiscal 2027 results, supported by continued demand for its Connected Operations Platform. The company’s expanding presence among large enterprises, combined with increasing adoption of multiple applications, might have sustained customer engagement and strengthened recurring revenue trends. The upmarket strategy remains an important growth driver as larger customers broaden their use of Samsara’s platform across operational workflows.

The company’s land-and-expand strategy is also likely to have supported the business in the to-be-reported quarter, as customers increasingly adopt emerging products alongside core telematics and safety offerings. Operational AI, Connected Asset Maintenance and other newer applications are expected to have broadened Samsara’s addressable market, created additional opportunities within existing accounts and remained a tailwind in the fiscal second quarter.

Recent product launches targeting government services, waste management and transportation are likely to have expanded the platform’s use cases and supported adoption momentum in the fiscal second quarter. Furthermore, AI monetization will remain a key area of investor focus. Samsara’s profitability trend is likely to have remained favorable in the to-be-reported quarter as revenue growth increasingly translates into operating leverage.

Samsara has been emphasizing disciplined spending and improved efficiency while continuing to invest in artificial intelligence and product development. Strong cash generation should provide flexibility to fund innovation and go-to-market initiatives. However, higher AI and cloud-related costs could continue to pressure gross margins and limit the pace of overall margin expansion.

Samsara is experimenting with different pricing models for operational AI and agent-based capabilities, but customer adoption remains relatively early. The quarter might have provided further indications of whether these offerings are moving from experimentation toward broader commercial adoption. At the same time, privacy and labor regulations surrounding location, video and driver-behavior data are likely to have remained potential constraints on deployment and could have lengthened sales cycles in certain markets.

New centralized experience brings fuel usage, driver behavior, routing, and card controls into a single pane of glass for operations and finance teams

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Samsara (NYSE: IOT), the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, today launched the Samsara Fuel Command Center, a centralized experience that brings its fuel management capabilities into a single pane of glass. It combines a consolidated view of total and recoverable fuel spend with intelligent fuel-stop recommendations in Commercial Navigation and Coast fuel card controls, giving operations and finance teams one place to identify waste, guide drivers to lower-cost fuel, and prevent card misuse.

“After implementing Coast through Samsara, we saw our fuel expenses drop by nearly $15,000 a month,” said Kyle Stewart, CFO at Trades Holding.

Share “We used to worry about fraud all the time. Cards went missing, PINs were shared, and we had no way to verify transactions,” said Tim Weisser, Fleet Operations Manager at Milestone Home Services. “Now with Coast and Samsara, the system takes care of it. If the truck's not there, the card doesn't work. Simple.”

Commercial fleets have contended with sustained fuel misuse and price volatility throughout 2026, as diesel prices have moved by more than $0.20 per gallon in a single week seven times since late February, according to data from the Samsara Fuel Spend Index. The latest swing erased three consecutive months of declines in just four weeks, pushing diesel to $5.23 per gallon by the end of July—16% above where the month began—while gasoline climbed from $3.93 to $4.25. This unpredictability heightens the need for cost controls and presents a significant opportunity. Internal data shows that U.S. customers had roughly $2 billion in potential fuel-spend savings in the first six months of the year. The Fuel Command Center gives operators the tools to capture those savings as conditions change.

“Fuel is one of the biggest costs a fleet carries—30% to 40% of total marginal operating costs,” said Ryan Yu, VP of Product at Samsara. “Prices have swung hard the past several months, and when they rise, fuel fraud rises with them. Customers told us pump-price visibility isn't enough. They need fraud, driver behavior, and vendor choices in one view, so they can cut costs before they add up. That's why we built Fuel Command Center: to give operators and finance leaders a way to turn their operations data into action and find immediate savings.”

The Fuel Command Center centralizes the data and controls fleets use to manage fuel across three core areas:

See total and recoverable fuel spend in one place

Fuel Command Center gives operations and finance teams a consolidated view of total and recoverable fuel spend. It identifies where money is being lost across idling, fueling location, driver efficiency, fraud, and suspicious fuel drops, then recommends the highest-impact actions. Managers can track quarterly trends and act from the same dashboard—for example, by turning on in-cab idling alerts or adding preferred fuel vendors.

Route drivers to the right fuel stop with Commercial Navigation

Commercial Navigation extends the centralized fuel strategy to the road by building preferred fuel stops into a route before a driver leaves the yard, so drivers do not have to toggle between telematics and third-party fuel apps. It accounts for corporate negotiated rates, responds when fuel runs low mid-route, and reroutes to the nearest preferred station. In a 90-day analysis of more than 2,000 Samsara customers, organizations cut a median of 4% in fuel spend by fueling at preferred vendors.

Stop card misuse before the transaction with Coast

Fuel card misuse rises with fuel prices: a Samsara analysis found that detected fraud incidents increase roughly 9% for every $0.10 increase in the price of diesel. Through the Samsara Coast integration, Fuel Command Center connects card authorization to vehicle location, allowing fleets to manage policies in one place and block transactions when the assigned vehicle is not present. “After implementing Coast through Samsara, we saw our fuel expenses drop by nearly $15,000 a month,” said Kyle Stewart, CFO at Trades Holding.

While fleets cannot control the price of fuel, they can control more of what they ultimately spend, and by centralizing fuel performance, routing, driver behavior, and card controls in Fuel Command Center, Samsara gives operations and finance teams one place to manage the variables that determine that cost. The result is a more direct way to offset external price volatility with savings generated inside their own operations.

Powered by the Samsara Network, disposable smart label delivers continuous visibility into any shipment, across any carrier

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Samsara Inc. (“Samsara”) (NYSE: IOT), the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, today introduced the Samsara Tracking Label: a smart, single-use Bluetooth label that delivers near-real-time shipment visibility, powered by the Samsara Network. The Tracking Label can be managed within Samsara’s new Shipment Center and Shipment App, which seamlessly plug into an organization's existing infrastructure, regardless of shipping carrier.

"Providing a persistent, wide-area network for Bluetooth assets could dramatically shift this landscape, enabling scale where infrastructure has previously been the bottleneck," said Zoe Roth, Senior Research Analyst, 451 Research from S&P Global.

Share Cargo theft costs U.S. businesses roughly $35 billion annually — up 60% year over year — and the problem is compounded by a fundamental lack of visibility. Current solutions, such as RFID and cellular connectivity, struggle with cost and coverage problems that Bluetooth and the Samsara Network solve.

"Our customers have been using asset tags to track critical shipments, and that works, but it's not purpose-built for cargo. What they've been asking for is a label they can slap on a box and walk away. That's exactly what the Tracking Label is,” said David Gal, VP of Connected Equipment at Samsara. “Unlike traditional barcode scanning that simply says 'departed facility,' the Samsara Network tells you exactly where that shipment is, hundreds of miles down the road. With AI-powered exceptions in the Shipment Center, a shipping manager can instantly see which shipments need attention, get ahead of delays, weather events, and proactively resolve issues before they reach the customer."

The low-cost connectivity powering the Tracking Label

The Tracking Label is an adhesive-backed, flexible, paper-thin label with a 45-day battery life after activation, that contains no lithium or hazardous materials, making it cleared for air, ground, and rail shipments and suitable for disposal without special handling. The Bluetooth label is interoperable with the Samsara Network, which leverages millions of Samsara-connected devices, including trucks, trailers, buses, construction equipment, warehouse scanners, and phones across 99% of major U.S. roads and tens of thousands of worksites. The network continuously 'listens' for Tracking Labels, enabling a single label to be detected in near real time, without requiring carrier involvement.

“Our data shows that organizations rely heavily on GPS and cellular technologies—adopted by over half the market—to track non-powered assets, often absorbing higher hardware costs to guarantee visibility,” said Zoe Roth, Senior Research Analyst, 451 Research from S&P Global. “Meanwhile, lower-cost alternatives like RFID and BLE currently sit at around 39% adoption, historically constrained by fragmented infrastructure, according to our 451 Research Supply Chain Digital Transformation Survey 2026. Providing a persistent, wide-area network for Bluetooth assets could dramatically shift this landscape, enabling scale where infrastructure has previously been the bottleneck.”

Real-time supply chain visibility through the Samsara Shipment Center

Leveraging the new Shipment Center, supply chain teams can view mission-critical and high-value goods — from a single box to a shipment of pallets to a reel of copper wire — that have a Tracking Label on the dashboard and click into any shipment for deeper insight. Through the Shipment Center, operations teams can:

Deter cargo theft and speed up resolution. Near real-time Bluetooth location data makes it significantly harder for bad actors to divert or steal cargo undetected, and gives operations teams evidence to involve authorities quickly when something goes wrong. Get ahead of shipping delays and exceptions. Stay ahead of late or missed deliveries by posing the question in the Shipment Center, “Which packages are at risk of being late due to the storm in Texas?” By leveraging AI to surface shipments that need attention, ops teams can focus on exceptions such as late delivery rather than monitoring every shipment manually. Coverage extends to cross-border shipments. Freight has historically gone dark the moment it crosses a border. These capabilities enable operations teams to keep jobs running on schedule, recover lost shipments in near real time, and deliver a better overall customer experience. Improve customer experiences with quicker dispute resolution. Automated delivery notifications and geofence-based delivery notifications provide clear proof of arrival, helping prevent and resolve shipping disputes with full location transparency across the shipment's journey. Make better supply-chain decisions with AI. Through the Shipment Center, ops teams can surface insights into warehouse performance, carrier on-time performance, declined delivery analytics, and more. This information allows them to analyze performance and costs to identify efficiencies. 3PL provider DCL Logistics, one of Tracking Label’s early adopters, is now managing the fulfillment and carrier handoff of high-value cargo for some of the world’s leading brands across consumer electronics, CPG, enterprise hardware, and GPUs.

“In LTL and truckload shipping, you typically only hear about your shipment twice — when it’s picked up and when it’s delivered," said Dave Tu, President, DCL Logistics. “Samsara’s Tracking Label changes that. It gives us a level of visibility that just didn’t exist before, and when you’re moving high-value cargo, that’s a big deal. It’s like watching your Uber driver on the way to pick you up — you can see every move, every turn, right up until it pulls up to the door.”

Plug into any existing workflow with the new Samsara Shipment App

The new Samsara Shipment App allows teams to activate the Tracking Label with a single tap, no hardware or manual entry required. Scan any barcode — a Bill of Lading, carrier tracking number, or warehouse license plate number — and the app automatically links it to the existing shipment ID.

Through the App, high-volume operations can print and pre-populate labels in bulk. Teams can also connect directly to an existing TMS or ERP to write shipment data at print time. No rip-and-replace of existing systems required.

All of these capabilities combined enable operations teams to keep jobs running on schedule, recover lost shipments in near real-time, and deliver a better overall customer experience.
