GLP-1 Demand Is Creating a New Dividend Angle in These 4 Logistics StocksFedEx NYSE: FDX executives outlined how the company is using data, artificial intelligence and network integration to reduce costs, improve delivery precision and expand into supply-chain technology services during Citi’s TMT conference.
President and CEO Raj Subramaniam said the company remains focused on its previously stated calendar 2029 targets of modest revenue growth, double-digit earnings growth and $6 billion in free cash flow. He said FedEx is seeing underlying business momentum and is “well on our way” toward those objectives.
Get FedEx alerts:
Network transformation and cost reduction FedEx’s Earnings Drop May Be Missing the Bigger Freight StorySubramaniam said FedEx began a structural cost-reduction program in 2022 and has removed billions of dollars from its cost structure. The company has previously cited $4 billion in savings from its DRIVE program and another $2 billion associated with Network 2.0.
A central component of that transformation is combining what had been relatively independent U.S. Express and Ground networks. Subramaniam described the effort as one of the largest industrial transformations in recent history. FedEx was about 42% complete at the time of its last earnings call, he said, expects to reach 62% completion by year-end and remains on track to finish the work next year.
3 Stocks to Watch If the Strait of Hormuz ReopensTechnology has been essential to the effort, according to Subramaniam. He said the company’s development of a digital twin of its network has supported both cost savings and network integration while establishing a foundation for new customer services.
FedEx operates 700 aircraft, 200,000 trucks and 5,000 facilities, Subramaniam said. The company generates roughly 2 petabytes of data daily through a network that moves about $2 trillion of commerce annually.
AI applications target efficiency and service precision Vishal Talwar, FedEx’s executive vice president and chief digital and information officer, said the company views AI as still being in its early stages for logistics. FedEx is applying the technology internally to improve efficiency while also using it to differentiate services and create new revenue streams.
Among current applications, Talwar said AI has reduced aircraft-maintenance research time from 30 minutes to three minutes, representing an approximately 90% efficiency improvement. The company has also reduced its predictable delivery-time window to two hours from four hours, enabling parcels to be placed within two hours of their estimated arrival times.
FedEx is using computer vision to identify non-standard packages and recover surcharge revenue that otherwise could have been missed. Talwar said that initiative is already delivering annual benefits of more than tens of millions of dollars.
Subramaniam said small operational improvements can have outsized effects in an “inventory in motion” network. At the company’s Memphis hub, for example, FedEx has improved flight arrival time by eight minutes, which he characterized as a meaningful gain for operations.
Expanding into supply-chain visibility and orchestration FedEx executives said the company sees an opportunity to address inefficiencies across broader supply chains rather than only in transportation. Subramaniam estimated that global supply chains contain $1.9 trillion in inefficiency.
Talwar said customers in high-value business-to-business sectors including healthcare, automotive, aerospace, data centers and high technology are seeking visibility across sourcing, manufacturing, suppliers, inbound and outbound logistics. In healthcare, FedEx is helping medical-device manufacturers connect inventory and supplier insights with hospital systems, allowing customers to identify demand signals earlier and potentially rebalance inventory.
The company also offers SenseAware, a monitoring capability for high-value shipments that can track conditions such as temperature and surrounding weather. FedEx’s Surround capability provides package-location visibility. Talwar said 40% of FedEx healthcare customers use one of those two capabilities.
Through its DataWorks organization, formed roughly four or five years ago, FedEx is developing businesses around proprietary data insights, externalizing internal technology solutions and supply-chain orchestration. Talwar said the orchestration platform includes modules for inventory flow, supplier insights, demand management, forecasting and yard management.
FedEx has partnered with Dun & Bradstreet on a Retail Momentum Index that Subramaniam said provides a leading indicator for U.S. retail sales. He also said FedEx DataWorks recently announced a relationship with the U.S. Army to help orchestrate its supply chain.
Physical automation remains a focus FedEx is also pursuing physical AI for truck loading and unloading, two areas Subramaniam said remain difficult to automate because packages vary in size, shape and weight. The company expects to deploy robots for those tasks in Hagerstown, Maryland, before December, he said.
In addition, FedEx is working with Aurora on automated trucks for facility-to-facility highway routes. Subramaniam said autonomous driving is easier to deploy on highways, while human drivers can continue handling operations within facilities.
Looking ahead, Talwar said FedEx’s priority is to make supply chains more connected and predictive. He said the industry’s eventual shift from printed labels toward active, intelligent labels could create additional opportunities. Subramaniam said FedEx’s physical network and first-party data provide a competitive advantage as the company seeks to position itself as a platform that customers and partners can use to create additional value.

Collaboration targets to enable the densest standard CMOS on-chip memory solution for the FDX platform widely used for advanced AI chips, by delivering 40% area shrink and up to 60% power reduction compared to commodity SRAM | Source: GlobalFoundries Inc.
MALTA, N.Y. and PETA TIKVA, Israel, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GlobalFoundries (GF) (Nasdaq: GFS) and RAAAM Memory Technologies, a pioneer in advanced on-chip memory solutions, today announced a strategic collaboration to develop and qualify Gain-Cell RAM (GCRAM) technology. The partnership has reached a major milestone with the successful tape-out of a GCRAM test vehicle on GF’s industry-leading FDX™ FD-SOI platform.
As edge AI, automotive, and IoT devices continue to demand unprecedented amounts of data, on-chip memory has become a critical bottleneck and often constitutes the majority of the silicon area. Designers are looking for innovative on-chip memory solutions offering higher-density and lower-power consumption compared to commodity SRAM.
Leveraging RAAAM’s patented GCRAM, the companies have co-designed the GCRAM bitcell using “pushed” design rules on FDX technology, achieving 40% memory area shrink and up to 60% memory power reduction compared to SRAM. The companies have jointly designed and taped out a GCRAM test chip. At the next step, the companies will start providing GCRAM design access to lead customers in early 2027.
“The successful tape-out of our GCRAM test vehicle on GF’s FDX platform is a testament to the powerful synergy between RAAAM's memory innovations and GlobalFoundries' manufacturing excellence,” said Robert Giterman, CEO and co-founder of RAAAM Memory Technologies. “Our GCRAM technology allows semiconductor companies to significantly increase their on-chip memory capacity or reduce the silicon area while keeping the same amount of on-chip memory, while the ultra-low leakage of FD-SOI technology extends data retention, enabling designers to unlock substantial energy savings for edge AI devices.”
“At GlobalFoundries, we are continuously pushing the boundaries of what is possible on our FDX platform and keep enhancing our IP offering to meet our customers’ needs,” said Sudipto Bose, vice president of FD-SOI product management at GlobalFoundries. “Partnering with RAAAM Memory Technologies allows us to offer our customers an incredibly compelling on-chip memory solution that redefines the power-performance-area (PPA) equation for advanced AI and other applications.”
The semiconductor ecosystem is already recognizing the potential of this joint development. NXP Semiconductors, a leader in intelligent systems at the edge, is closely evaluating the benefits of the GCRAM solution.
“The industry needs a paradigm shift in on-chip memory. The GCRAM solution developed by RAAAM and GF offers immense potential,” said Victor Wang, VP of front end innovation at NXP Semiconductors. “The projected area shrink and power reductions provide a clear path to increasing on-chip memory capacities, which is vital for reducing off-chip data movement and driving greater system-level efficiency.”

FedEx Corporation earns a Buy rating, but not because FDX stock is cheap. The real story is a structural shift in margins, cash flow, and capital efficiency. The Freight spinoff is simplifying the business, while FedEx is pushing deeper into higher-value B2B and service-critical shipments instead of chasing low-quality volume. Network 2.0 could be the biggest earnings lever: FedEx is targeting roughly $2 billion in annual savings by 2027, with about 65% of eligible volume expected through optimized stations before that.
The recommendations of Wall Street analysts are often relied on by investors when deciding whether to buy, sell, or hold a stock. Media reports about these brokerage-firm-employed (or sell-side) analysts changing their ratings often affect a stock's price. Do they really matter, though?
Let's take a look at what these Wall Street heavyweights have to say about FedEx (FDX - Free Report) before we discuss the reliability of brokerage recommendations and how to use them to your advantage.
FedEx currently has an average brokerage recommendation (ABR) of 1.71, on a scale of 1 to 5 (Strong Buy to Strong Sell), calculated based on the actual recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell, etc.) made by 29 brokerage firms. An ABR of 1.71 approximates between Strong Buy and Buy.
Of the 29 recommendations that derive the current ABR, 18 are Strong Buy and two are Buy. Strong Buy and Buy respectively account for 62.1% and 6.9% of all recommendations.
Brokerage Recommendation Trends for FDX
Check price target & stock forecast for FedEx here>>>
The ABR suggests buying FedEx, but making an investment decision solely on the basis of this information might not be a good idea. According to several studies, brokerage recommendations have little to no success guiding investors to choose stocks with the most potential for price appreciation.
Do you wonder why? As a result of the vested interest of brokerage firms in a stock they cover, their analysts tend to rate it with a strong positive bias. According to our research, brokerage firms assign five "Strong Buy" recommendations for every "Strong Sell" recommendation.
This means that the interests of these institutions are not always aligned with those of retail investors, giving little insight into the direction of a stock's future price movement. It would therefore be best to use this information to validate your own analysis or a tool that has proven to be highly effective at predicting stock price movements.
With an impressive externally audited track record, our proprietary stock rating tool, the Zacks Rank, which classifies stocks into five groups, ranging from Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) to Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), is a reliable indicator of a stock's near-term price performance. So, validating the Zacks Rank with ABR could go a long way in making a profitable investment decision.
Zacks Rank Should Not Be Confused With ABRAlthough both Zacks Rank and ABR are displayed in a range of 1--5, they are different measures altogether.
The ABR is calculated solely based on brokerage recommendations and is typically displayed with decimals (example: 1.28). In contrast, the Zacks Rank is a quantitative model allowing investors to harness the power of earnings estimate revisions. It is displayed in whole numbers -- 1 to 5.
Analysts employed by brokerage firms have been and continue to be overly optimistic with their recommendations. Since the ratings issued by these analysts are more favorable than their research would support because of the vested interest of their employers, they mislead investors far more often than they guide.
On the other hand, earnings estimate revisions are at the core of the Zacks Rank. And empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.
In addition, the different Zacks Rank grades are applied proportionately to all stocks for which brokerage analysts provide current-year earnings estimates. In other words, this tool always maintains a balance among its five ranks.
There is also a key difference between the ABR and Zacks Rank when it comes to freshness. When you look at the ABR, it may not be up-to-date. Nonetheless, since brokerage analysts constantly revise their earnings estimates to reflect changing business trends, and their actions get reflected in the Zacks Rank quickly enough, it is always timely in predicting future stock prices.
Is FDX Worth Investing In?Looking at the earnings estimate revisions for FedEx, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year has remained unchanged over the past month at $17.6.
Analysts' steady views regarding the company's earnings prospects, as indicated by an unchanged consensus estimate, could be a legitimate reason for the stock to perform in line with the broader market in the near term.
The size of the recent change in the consensus estimate, along with three other factors related to earnings estimates, has resulted in a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for FedEx. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks here >>>>
It may therefore be prudent to be a little cautious with the Buy-equivalent ABR for FedEx.
In June, FedEx (FDX -0.16%) spun off an 80.1% stake in FedEx Freight (FDXF +0.15%), marking the start of the delivery giant's divestiture of its less-than-truckload (LTL) freight segment. Since the spinoff, both stocks have gone in different directions.
While shares in FedEx Freight's former parent have largely remained in a narrow range during the summer, FedEx Freight shares initially experienced a big rally, only to give back those gains, and then some.
Investors at the time of the spinoff received one share of FedEx Freight for every two shares of FedEx. The question now is whether it's time to exit both transportation stocks, keep one and sell the other, or let them both ride, viewing them as top industrial stocks.

Is FedEx transforming into a lean, mean, parcel-delivering machine? The spinoff isn't the only way FedEx has pivoted toward its core parcel delivery business. Last month, the company also announced the sale of its FedEx Supply Chain subsidiary. FedEx still owns 19.9% of FedEx Freight. It plans to divest the remaining stake either through exchanges of debt for common stock and/or by distributing them to shareholders.

Yet while FedEx still has skin in the game, management's focus now shifts toward executing its Network 2.0 strategic initiative. For customers, Network 2.0 represents a streamlining of FedEx's parcel pickup and delivery, but for shareholders, the main focus is the estimated $2 billion in structural cost savings.
Yet while long-term forecasts call for double-digit percentage earnings growth in 2027 and 2028, doubts remain. Fuel surcharges helped to mitigate the impact of soaring energy prices, but Amazon's move into the third-party logistics and shipping sector represents a major competitive threat to FedEx. Amazon is using tactics such as lower rates to gain market share.
Only time will tell whether Amazon affects FedEx's earnings growth, but keep in mind how success with Network 2.0 may already be baked into the stock's valuation. Right now, FedEx trades for 16 times forward earnings, a modest premium to rival UPS's forward multiple of about 14. For FedEx's efforts to translate into major gains in the stock, Network 2.0 needs to meet or exceed cost-reduction expectations. The company also needs to maximize customer retention amid the rising competition from Amazon.
Long-term FedEx investors may still want to sit tight. However, for anyone entering or adding to a position, you may want to wait for the next wave of turbulence.
FedEx Freight and its heavy "show me" discount As an LTL freight-hauling company, FedEx Freight competes with companies like Old Dominion Freight Line. LTLs ship partial truckloads of goods for smaller industrial customers over shorter distances. The big opportunity for FedEx Freight lies in its discounted valuation.

Currently, FedEx Freight trades for about 25 times forward earnings. Competitor Old Dominion, on the other hand, trades for roughly 36 times forward earnings. Closing this valuation gap would mean major price appreciation for the stock.
However, don't expect FedEx Freight's valuation to rise simply because more investors are noticing this valuation discrepancy. It exists because Wall Street wants to see the company knock it out of the park in the coming quarters.
Much of this depends on the newly public company's execution, but external factors could also make or break the story. After softening, demand for LTL services is making a slow recovery. There's also the overhang of FedEx's eventual divestiture of its 19.9% stake. Depending on how quickly FedEx sells these shares, this could continue to weigh on FedEx Freight's performance.
Add in the fact that FedEx Freight also faces a competitive threat from Amazon, the key factor in the stock's initial post-rally pullback, and it's clear why Wall Street's staying in "show me" mode for now. Although a sentiment change would mean tremendous upside from current prices, consider waiting for concrete evidence that the situation is improving.

Two Ways Out of the Same Building A longtime FedEx (NYSE: FDX | FDX Price Prediction) sorter in his mid-60s has been collecting Social Security since 62 while continuing to work reduced hours. His wages have remained below the annual earnings-test limit. Then he learns that his Phoenix facility is closing. Management offers some workers positions elsewhere, potentially with relocation assistance. Others may receive severance and leave the company.
Social Security may see the two payments in reverse. The relocation money can count as current wages, while qualifying severance may be excluded from the retirement earnings test. The distinction travels well beyond FedEx. Anyone collecting Social Security early while weighing a transfer, layoff package, or buyout can encounter it.
Why the Moving Check Counts Before FRA, Social Security applies an earnings test to wages and net self-employment income. When annual earnings exceed the applicable limit, the agency temporarily withholds part of the worker’s benefit. The test ends once full retirement age arrives. For most civilian employees, employer-paid moving reimbursements are now taxable wages. Federal legislation made that treatment permanent beginning in 2026, with limited exceptions for certain military and intelligence-community moves.
That means a relocation allowance generally appears on the W-2 and enters the earnings-test calculation. If the worker accepts a transfer, his regular wages at the new facility count too. Suppose he earns enough from the two locations to come within $4,000 of the annual limit. A $10,000 taxable moving allowance would push him $6,000 over it. Under the usual $1-for-$2 formula, Social Security could withhold approximately $3,000 in benefits. The company helped pay for the move. Social Security still saw compensation connected to his current employment.
Why Severance May Be Treated Differently Severance can qualify as a special wage payment when it is paid after the employee stops working and relates to services completed before retirement. Social Security can exclude a qualifying payment from the earnings test even though the employer still reports it as wages for income and payroll-tax purposes. That creates the counterintuitive result. A hypothetical $30,000 severance payment might not reduce his Social Security, while the smaller $10,000 relocation payment could.
The exclusion is not automatic, and not every severance check qualifies. The timing, reason for the payment, and employer’s reporting all matter. Social Security may ask the employer to complete Form SSA-131, which identifies payments made for earlier services or because of retirement. Regular wages earned before the facility closes still count. The special-payment rule applies to the qualifying severance, not everything appearing on the final W-2.
The Tax Return Follows a Different Rule Exclusion from the earnings test does not make severance tax-free. Both taxable relocation assistance and severance can increase federal taxable income. They may also cause more of the Social Security benefit itself to become taxable. The split exists only inside Social Security’s earnings-test calculation. That is why looking at the W-2 alone does not answer the benefits question.
Benefits withheld under the earnings test are not returned later as a lump sum. At full retirement age, Social Security adjusts the monthly benefit to account for months when checks were withheld. That produces a higher payment going forward, but it does not help with cash flow during the year of the closure.
What to Confirm Before Choosing Two conversations should happen before the paperwork is signed:
Ask payroll how the relocation assistance and severance would each appear on the W-2. If taking severance, ask whether the payment may qualify as a special wage payment and whether the employer will complete Form SSA-131 if Social Security requests it. Give Social Security an estimate containing regular wages, taxable relocation assistance, and the separately identified severance. Ask which amounts the agency expects to count against the annual limit. The worker choosing between a transfer and severance has bigger questions to answer than the earnings test. One option preserves a job but requires a move. The other ends the paycheck and begins retirement sooner. Still, the classification matters. The payment that looks most like a work expense may count as wages. The check that looks most like wages may be left out. Two paths out of the same facility can produce two very different Social Security calculations.

Key Takeaways Management targets 4-6% revenue growth and 10-12% adjusted operating income growth.FedEx Freight's revenue rose 4.8% as revenue per shipment climbed 11.5% despite lower volumes.Technology and network investments aim to improve freight efficiency, service and connectivity. FedEx Freight ((FDXF - Free Report) ) is entering public markets as a pure-play less-than-truckload carrier at a time when volume growth remains uneven. The company’s investment case now rests on whether pricing, freight mix and internal efficiency can offset softer shipment activity.
That makes FDXF a useful test of the current LTL cycle. Demand may be under pressure, but management is leaning on revenue quality, network density, and technology to protect margins.
FedEx Freight Is Leaning Into Revenue per ShipmentFourth-quarter revenues rose 4.8% year over year to $2.4 billion even as average daily shipments fell 5.9% to 86.7 thousand. The offset came from stronger revenue per shipment, which increased 11.5% to $415.22.
Weight per shipment rose 3% to 948 pounds, while revenue per hundredweight increased 8.2% to $43.79. Those metrics matter because heavier shipments and better yield can help support revenues when freight counts remain under pressure.
FDXF Margin Expansion Depends on Network OptimizationManagement expects medium-term revenue growth of 4-6% and adjusted operating income growth of 10-12%. That gap implies the company is targeting faster profit growth than revenue growth, driven by operating improvements rather than just better demand.
Capital discipline will be central to that plan. The company expects its capital-expenditure-to-revenue ratio to be around 5%, while investments are being directed toward the network, technology and freight-focused operations. Old Dominion Freight Line ((ODFL - Free Report) ), another major LTL carrier, remains a key benchmark for investors watching service quality, pricing discipline and terminal productivity across the category.
FedEx Freight Faces a Cyclical LTL Demand BackdropFDXF serves manufacturers, retailers, distributors and other businesses, leaving it exposed to manufacturing activity, industrial production and business spending. In a slower economy, customers may ship fewer loads, creating pressure on volumes, pricing and margins.
Risks also include inflation, tariff-related uncertainty, geopolitical tension and supply-chain disruption. United Parcel Service ((UPS - Free Report) ), a broad transportation and logistics company, gives investors a wider freight and parcel comparison point when assessing how business spending and trade flows move through the transport sector.
FDXF Technology Spending Could Reshape Freight EfficiencyTechnology is a key part of the standalone strategy. FedEx Freight expects to benefit from technology investments and optimized operations tailored specifically to freight customers.
The opportunity is operational as well as commercial. Dedicated technology spending could improve freight movement, customer service, network planning and supply-chain connectivity. As an independent company, FedEx Freight can focus capital on LTL priorities rather than competing internally with parcel and express operations.
FedEx Freight Ratings Temper the Emerging Trend StoryThe bottom line is that FDXF has a clear margin-improvement path, but the path depends on execution in a cyclical freight market. Pricing and mix helped the latest quarter, while lower shipments show that demand remains a constraint.
The stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), which reflects a neutral near-term earnings-revision signal. The VGM Score of D and Momentum Score of F point to weak current market characteristics, while the Value Score of C and Growth Score of C suggest a more balanced profile on those two style measures. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.
For investors, the combination argues for patience rather than a one-sided view. FedEx Freight has standalone advantages, scale and a targeted operating plan, but weak momentum and a neutral Rank indicate that earnings-revision support is not yet strong enough to fully validate the margin-growth story.
Key Takeaways FedEx Freight debuted as a standalone S&P 500 LTL carrier with a large North American network. Management targets 4%-6% revenue growth, 10%-12% adjusted operating income growth and $1B free cash flow. Standalone systems, freight cyclicality and elevated debt could pressure costs and demand. FedEx Freight (FDXF - Free Report) has entered the public market as a standalone freight company. Its S&P 500 debut gives investors a clearer way to evaluate a business that was previously housed inside FedEx.
The case now rests on a focused less-than-truckload, or LTL, network, post-spin targets and the company’s ability to execute without the operating support of its former parent.
FDXF Starts Life as a Pure LTL CarrierFedEx Freight is now a focused North American LTL carrier serving manufacturers, retailers, distributors and business customers. The model moves smaller freight shipments from many customers through a shared terminal and linehaul network rather than dedicating an entire truck to one shipper.
Scale is central to that model. FDXF handles roughly 90,000 daily shipments across more than 365 locations, supported by 30,000 vehicles and 40,000 team members. That footprint matters because LTL customers value coverage, reliable pickup and delivery, shipment visibility and claims performance.
The company now sits in a peer set that includes Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL - Free Report) , a major national LTL carrier, and XPO (XPO - Free Report) , which also competes in North American LTL. Those peers give investors a useful comparison group for pricing discipline, service quality and margin performance.
FedEx Freight Gains Strategic FreedomThe spin-off changes the management agenda. FedEx Freight no longer competes internally with parcel and express operations for capital, systems investment or executive attention. The company can direct resources toward freight customers and freight-specific network decisions.
That independence could sharpen execution. A dedicated sales force can focus on industrial, retail and distribution accounts, while technology spending can be targeted toward shipment visibility, pricing, dock productivity and route planning.
Strategic freedom does not guarantee faster growth, but it creates a cleaner investment story. Investors can now judge FDXF on freight fundamentals rather than on its contribution to a broader transportation portfolio.
FDXF Growth Plan Centers on MarginsManagement’s medium-term targets frame the stock’s growth case. FedEx Freight is aiming for revenue growth of 4% to 6% and adjusted operating income growth of 10% to 12% over the medium term.
The plan also calls for free cash flow above $1 billion, free cash flow conversion above 90% and a capital expenditure-to-revenue ratio near 5%. Those targets suggest that the company is not simply chasing shipment volume.
That distinction is important in LTL. Volume growth can help network density, but poorly priced freight can dilute margins. For FDXF, the cleaner upside would come from better yields, improved network balance, disciplined capacity spending and productivity gains.
FedEx Freight Faces a Tough Reality CheckExecution risk is the first test. FedEx Freight must build and operate standalone corporate systems after the spin-off, including public-company functions. Any disruption could absorb management time and raise costs early in independence.
The business is also exposed to the freight cycle. Industrial production, manufacturing activity, retail replenishment and broader business spending influence LTL volumes. Softer demand could pressure shipment counts, pricing and operating leverage.
Leverage adds another constraint. Elevated debt created before separation may reduce flexibility if the freight market weakens or if standalone costs run higher than planned. Debt service needs can compete with technology spending and network investment.
FDXF Signals a Mixed Setup for InvestorsThe bottom line is that FedEx Freight offers a cleaner way to own a large North American LTL network, but the stock still needs operating proof as a standalone company. The spin-off improves strategic focus, yet investors have to weigh that against systems execution, cyclicality and balance-sheet pressure.
FDXF currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here. We believe the stock remains worth holding for investors with a long-term horizon.

The stock also has a Value Score of C, Growth Score of C, Momentum Score of F and VGM Score of D. That mix points to a neutral near-term setup rather than a clear buying signal.
The Style Scores reinforce that stance. C grades in value and growth suggest middle-of-the-road characteristics, while the F in momentum indicates weak timing on that measure. With a VGM Score of F, FDXF looks better suited for monitoring than for an aggressive entry until investors see cleaner execution and evidence that margin targets are becoming durable results.

Apart from the better-than-expected results, FDX has also raised its full-year fiscal 2026 guidance for revenues and earnings. For fiscal 2026, FedEx now expects revenue growth to be up almost 11% on a year-over-year basis (prior view: up 6-6.5%). Earnings per share (EPS) are now anticipated to be between $16.55 and $17.75 before the MTM retirement plans accounting adjustments compared with the prior guidance of $16.05-$16.85.
Operating income, on a reported basis, increased 3.4% to $2.09 billion from the year-ago fiscal quarter’s reported number. Operating margin fell to 8.4% from 9.1% in the year-ago reported quarter. Segmental Performance During the QuarterFedEx Express segment’s revenues grew 14% year over year to $21.5 billion. The Federal Express segment benefited from higher U.S. domestic and International Priority package yields, continued cost savings from transformation initiatives and increased U.S. domestic and international export package volume. These factors were partially offset by increased purchased transportation and wage rates, higher variable incentive compensation expenses and the financial impacts of global trade policy changes.
FedEx Freight revenues grew 5% from the year-ago fiscal quarter’s reported figure to $2.40 billion.
Average daily shipments fell 6% year over year. Capital expenditures for the reported quarter were $1.47 billion.

During fiscal 2026, FedEx returned almost $2.2 billion to shareholders, which includes $776 million in the form of share repurchases and $1.4 billion through dividend payments. As of May 31, 2026, $1.3 billion was available under the company's 2024 stock repurchase authorization.
Remaining Aspects of 2026 OutlookEPS, after excluding costs related to business optimization initiatives, the planned spin-off of FedEx Freight, and the planned change in the company's fiscal year end, is now expected between $16.90 and $18.10 compared with the prior guided range of $19.30 to $20.10.
Pension contributions are now expected to be up to $475 million (prior view: $275 million).
For fiscal 2026, FedEx now anticipates capital spending of $3.9 billion (prior view: $4.1 billion), prioritizing investments in network optimization and efficiency improvement, which includes fleet and facility modernization and automation. The effective tax rate is now estimated to be around 23% compared with the prior expectation of 24%.
For 2026, FedEx remains committed to rewarding its shareholders, which includes the previously announced 5% increase in the annual dividend on its common stock, after adjusting for the FedEx Freight spin-off. FDX also plans to repurchase up to $1 billion worth of shares opportunistically, leveraging continued balance sheet flexibility and free cash flow generation to offset dilution from equity compensation.
How Have Estimates Been Moving Since Then?Analysts were quiet during the last two month period as none of them issued any earnings estimate revisions.

On the Tuesday, July 20 episode of CNBC’s Mad Money, Jim Cramer told viewers now was a good time to rotate out of speculative technology and into industrial blue chips. “In the end, today was a day to buy FedEx. It was a day to pick up some Honeywell Aerospace. Hey, how about buying some GE?”
Cramer argued the NASDAQ is under speculative pressure in both the U.S. and Korean markets and told viewers “to buy more tech only if we get a washout, sell-off first, where all the margin mongers and the option ogres, they just get blown out.” But for now, “It’s time to go to other sectors. They can make you money without the volatility.” The VIX volatility gauge closed at 18.77 on July 17, 2026, up 24.9% for the week and sitting in the 71.2 percentile of its 12-month range.
GE Aerospace Falls Despite a Record Order for 1,000 LEAP Engines Cramer’s loudest complaint was about GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE | GE Price Prediction). “It was down a ridiculous amount even after it got the biggest order for its ones ever, 1000 LEAP engines to power the Airbus A320neos, part of a joint venture. That wasn’t enough. I was shocked that the stock wasn’t up on that news.” Shares fell nearly eight dollars despite the order.
GE’s Q2 2026 adjusted EPS came in at $2.02 versus a $1.86 consensus, its fifth consecutive beat, on revenue of $13.35 billion, up 21.11% year over year. LEAP engine deliveries rose 24%, and management raised full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $7.65 to $7.85, with free cash flow guided to $8.90 billion to $9.20 billion. CEO Larry Culp cited an “over $210 billion backlog” in the Q2 earnings release.
Yet GE has slid 8.86% month to date through July 20, closing at $341.30. Wall Street’s consensus target sits at $397.86, with 16 buy and 3 strong-buy ratings.
FedEx’s Freight Spin and $1 Billion in Savings Simplify the Story FedEx (NYSE:FDX) offers a turnaround industrial story. The Q4 FY2026 report on June 23, 2026 delivered adjusted EPS of $6.31 versus $5.95 expected, on revenue of $25.01 billion, up 12.54%. Full-year adjusted EPS reached $20.24 versus $18.19 the prior year, and permanent cost savings exceeded $1.0 billion.

The FedEx Freight spin-off closed June 1, 2026, and management guided calendar-year 2026 adjusted EPS from continuing operations to $16.90 to $18.10, with up to $1 billion in opportunistic buybacks. The stock has slipped 5.78% over the past month but remains up 63.98% year to date.
Honeywell Aerospace Gives Investors a New Aviation Pure Play Cramer’s reference to Honeywell Aerospace (NASDAQ:HONA) points to the freshly independent business spun out of Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON) on June 29, 2026, now trading on NASDAQ under the ticker HONA. In Q1 2026, Aerospace Technologies posted $4.32 billion in revenue, up 4%, with a 1.1x book-to-bill. The prior quarter delivered 21% organic sales growth in Aerospace Technologies, a datapoint that captures the commercial aftermarket and defense build-up powering the space.
Parent Honeywell reaffirmed FY2026 adjusted EPS of $10.35 to $10.65 against a backlog of $38.3 billion. HON shares are down 5.83% over the past month but up 11.71% year to date.
What to Watch Jim Cramer recommends avoiding speculative technology stocks unless a sharper sell-off clears out leveraged traders. Until then, he prefers industrial names such as FedEx, GE Aerospace, and Honeywell Aerospace because they offer exposure to cost-cutting, increasing aviation demand, and large order backlogs with less speculative volatility.

Key Takeaways FedEx beat fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter earnings and revenue estimates, aided by B2B demand.FDX expects about 11% revenue growth and adjusted EPS of $16.90-$18.10 in calendar 2026. Higher fuel costs and the end of the de minimis exemption may pressure FedEx's near-term margins. FedEx Corporation (FDX - Free Report) , a leading parcel delivery company with a market capitalization of around $75 billion, has seen its shares jump more than 10% so far this year. Improved operational efficiency driven by prudent cost-cutting measures has buoyed the company’s shares. Strong cash flows, a disciplined approach to capital expenditure and resilience in demand in the U.S. domestic package network, despite global uncertainties, have been boosting the company's prospects.
Despite the double-digit gain (% wise) year to date, the stock has marginally underperformed the Zacks Transportation—Air Freight and Cargo industry and rival United Parcel Service (UPS - Free Report) . FDX has, however, outperformed fellow industry player GXO Logistics (GXO - Free Report) .

Given the stock’s double-digit price gain on the back of the company’s ongoing cost-cutting initiatives aimed at boosting bottom-line growth, investors may be questioning whether it is a buy at present. Let’s take a closer look to address this question.
FDX Performs Well in Q4 FY26 & Gives Bullish OutlookIn the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, results of which were released last month, FedEx’s earnings (excluding 29 cents from non-recurring items) of $6.31 per share beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5.91 as well as improved 3.9% year over year. The company’s bottom line benefited from share repurchase activity.
Revenues of $25 billion came ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $24.1 billion and improved 12.5% from the year-ago quarter. In the quarter, the majority of the revenue growth was driven by business-to-business (“B2B”) services and the three-month period was the brightest quarter within fiscal year 2026 from a B2B perspective. This is in line with the company’s continuous efforts to move away from low-margin parcel traffic.
To bolster margins, FedEx is shifting its focus toward high-margin B2B segments — specifically healthcare, aerospace, automotive and data centers. In Europe, the company achieved its 12th consecutive quarter of international revenue share gains, driven by the strong value proposition and improving service levels.
Apart from focusing on AI tools to improve efficiency and customer experience, the transportation giant is keeping CapEx low to boost profitability. As part of its cost discipline, the company aims to achieve a CapEx of $3.9 billion in calendar year 2026. We note that the company has changed its fiscal year-end from May 31 to Dec. 31. The fiscal year change became effective for the period beginning June 1, 2026.
For the calendar year 2026, FedEx anticipates revenue growth of approximately 11%, including about 3 percentage points of assumed fuel price-driven surcharge benefit. The outlook is likely to be supported by continued momentum within base pricing and increased demand for premium B2B and high-value B2C services. This translates to an adjusted EPS range of $16.90 to $18.10. Robust free cash flow is expected to be generated in the period, with the company intending to repurchase up to $1 billion worth of shares. The company expects to generate cost savings worth $2 billion by the end of calendar 2027.
Driven by the cost-cutting initiatives and the impressive outlook, the consensus price target for FDX stock is $357.58, implying an upside of more than 14% from current levels.

Near-Term Headwinds PersistNo doubt, FedEx is seeing consistent improvement, largely supported by efficiencies driven by artificial intelligence, but its near-term outlook remains somewhat uneven. Rising fuel prices, regulatory shifts and wider macroeconomic challenges continue to act as significant obstacles.
With the United States and Iran once again exchanging fire, the already fragile ceasefire is under renewed strain. The uptick in oil prices, following the renewed hostilities, is putting pressure on transportation companies like FedEx.
Since fuel is a major cost component for such businesses, higher prices directly impact profitability. The disruption of the Strait of Hormuz — an essential oil transit route under Iran’s control — has further intensified the situation. Nearly 20% of the world’s traded oil moves through this passage and the disturbance has pushed diesel and jet fuel costs higher, raising expenses across FedEx’s global delivery operations. Moreover, the increase in hostilities in the Ukraine-Russia conflict has accentuated the uncertain global scenario.
In addition, evolving global trade policies are weighing on FedEx’s short-term outlook. The United States has eliminated the “de minimis” exemption for low-value shipments, leading to higher international shipping costs. FedEx now encounters increased brokerage expenses and operational challenges as it must handle formal customs procedures for shipments that were previously exempt from duties. These factors are likely to weigh on margins in the near term, even as FDX works to offset some of the impact through pricing and cost controls.
Valuation CheckFDX stock is trading at 0.78X forward sales, lower than the industry. Its closest peer, United Parcel Service, has a P/S ratio of 1.08. Meanwhile, GXO Logistics is trading at a forward sales multiple of 0.43. FedEx has a Value Score of B, like United Parcel Service and GXO Logistics
FDX Shares Don’t Appear to be PriceyImage Source: Zacks Investment Research
Our Take: Hold for NowFDX’s long-term outlook is becoming increasingly favorable, supported by its emphasis on higher-margin B2B segments, which enhances earnings visibility and margin expansion potential. The company’s commitment to strengthening its bottom line through cost-reduction initiatives is particularly encouraging and could become an increasingly important driver of the long-term investment thesis.
That said, the near-term outlook remains somewhat mixed. Elevated fuel costs, challenges stemming from the removal of the de minimis exemption and broader external uncertainties may continue to weigh on earnings momentum over the next few quarters. Currently, the risk-reward profile does not appear attractive enough to justify a new investment. We believe the stock remains worth holding for investors with a long-term horizon. Potential investors may prefer to wait for a more attractive entry point.

The objectives of this study were to determine whether beneficial microbes identified in the IBZ Phase 2 studies in patients with initial and 1st recurrent CDI are still present in patients with multiple (≥2) recurrent CDI and to assess killing effects of IBZ vs. comparators in planktonic (non-biofilm) and biofilm mono- and duo-culture studies; specifically, measuring killing of VRE by VAN, FDX, and IBZ in planktonic and biofilm cultures.
Commenting on the poster presentation, Dr. Garey stated: "Until now, it has not been known whether repeated courses of VAN and/or FDX destroyed the gut microbiome population of beneficial organisms, namely, those bacterial species that are responsible for metabolizing bile acids and protecting against recurrent episodes of CDI. Our new data indicate that sufficient numbers of such bacteria are preserved to allow regrowth when rCDI treatment consists of an antibiotic like ibezapolstat, which has been shown in our laboratory to be highly selective and preserves the beneficial gut flora." He further stated, "We also showed in our laboratory studies that ibezapolstat was highly effective at killing C. difficile when grown in co-culture with Enterococcus in liquid, planktonic cultures or as part of a biofilm. Ibezapolstat actually outperformed fidaxomicin in biofilm killing effects without causing VRE overgrowth observed with vancomycin."
Robert J. DeLuccia, Executive Chairman of Acurx, stated: "These new data provide scientific support for our upcoming trial of ibezapolstat to treat patients with multiply-recurrent CDI which begins with a 20-patient, open-label pilot trial in patients with at least 3 episodes of CDI in the past 12 months and will inform elements of a planned active-controlled, Phase 3 registration trial in rCDI. Upon subsequent successful completion of a Ph3 pivotal rCDI trial, and per the operative FDA procedure, Acurx plans to request FDA approval for treatment and prevention of rCDI under the FDA's Limited Population Pathway for Antibacterial and Antifungal Drugs (Guidance for Industry, 2020). He added: "Along with results from IBZ's international Phase 3 registration program in patients with acute CDI, we believe IBZ has the potential to be the first agent to demonstrate clinical success in both the treatment of acute CDI and reduction of recurrence in rCDI and such success would shift the paradigm of treatment and prevention of rCDI from two agents to one."

About the Anaerobe Society of the Americas
Founded in 1992, The Anaerobe Society of the Americas is an international organization, promoting the study and application of knowledge of anaerobic bacteriology. The primary activity of the society is organizing the biennial Anaerobe Congress for researchers, clinicians, and laboratory scientists from around the world to engage in presentations, exchanges, and dialogues related to anaerobes.
Acurx previously announced it has received mutually consistent positive feedback from both FDA and EMA which included details on Acurx's two planned international Phase 3 clinical trials in patients with acute CDI. Accordingly, if successful, these trials will support the submission of a U.S. New Drug Application (NDA) and a Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) for regulatory approval in Europe. The trial design not only allows determination of ibezapolstat's ability to achieve Clinical Cure of CDI as measured 2 days after 10 days of oral treatment but also includes assessment of ibezapolstat's potential effect on reduction of CDI recurrence in the target population. The primary efficacy analysis will be performed using a Modified Intent-To-Treat (mITT) population.
About the Ibezapolstat Phase 2 Clinical Trial
The completed multicenter, open-label single-arm segment (Phase 2a) study was followed by a double-blind, randomized, active-controlled, non-inferiority, segment (Phase 2b) at 28 US clinical trial sites which together comprise the Phase 2 clinical trial. (see https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04247542). This Phase 2 clinical trial was designed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of ibezapolstat in the treatment of CDI including pharmacokinetics and microbiome changes from baseline and continue to test for anti-recurrence microbiome properties seen in the Phase 2a trial, including the treatment-related changes in alpha diversity and bacterial abundance and effects on bile acid metabolism. About Ibezapolstat
Ibezapolstat is the Company's lead antibiotic candidate planning to advance to international Phase 3 clinical trials to treat patients with C. difficile infection. Ibezapolstat is a novel, orally administered antibiotic, being developed as a Gram-Positive Selective Spectrum (GPSS®) antibacterial. It is the first of a new class of DNA polymerase IIIC inhibitors under development by Acurx to treat bacterial infections. Ibezapolstat's unique spectrum of activity, which includes C. difficile but spares other Firmicutes and the important Actinobacteria phyla, appears to contribute to the maintenance of a healthy gut microbiome.
In June 2018, ibezapolstat was designated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP) for the treatment of patients with CDI and will be eligible to benefit from the incentives for the development of new antibiotics established under the Generating New Antibiotic Incentives Now (GAIN) Act. In 2019, FDA granted "Fast Track" designation to ibezapolstat for the treatment of patients with CDI. The CDC has designated C. difficile as an urgent threat highlighting the need for new antibiotics to treat CDI.
About Clostridioides difficile Infection (CDI) and Recurrent CDI (rCDI)
According to the 2017 Update (published February 2018) of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for C. difficile Infection by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and Society or Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), CDI remains a significant medical problem in hospitals, in long-term care facilities and in the community. C. difficile is one of the most common causes of health care-associated infections in U.S. hospitals (Lessa, 2015, NEJM). Recent estimates suggest C. difficile approaches 500,000 infections annually in the U.S. and is associated with approximately 30,000 deaths annually. (Guh, 2020, NEJM. Based on internal estimates, the recurrence rate for the antibiotics currently used to treat CDI is between 20% and 40% among approximately 150,000 patients treated. We believe the annual incidence of CDI in the U.S. approaches 600,000 infections and a mortality rate of approximately 9.3%.
In recent studies, rCDI ranges from 4% to 19.5% following treatment with fidaxomicin and 17 to 27% following treatment with vancomycin. In patients with multiple prior episodes of CDI, rCDI following treatment with vancomycin is even more problematic, with an incidence of up to 40%. Consequently, the principal unmet medical need in this disease is the prevention of recurrence. The estimated annual public health cost burden in the U.S. annually is ~$5 billion annually with ~$2.8 billion due to recurrent CDI.
About the Microbiome in C. difficile Infection (CDI) and Bile Acid Metabolism
C. difficile can be a normal component of the healthy gut microbiome, but when the microbiome is thrown out of balance, the C. difficile can thrive and cause an infection. After colonization with C. difficile, the organism produces and releases the main virulence factors, the two large clostridial toxins A (TcdA) and B (TcdB). (Kachrimanidou, Microorganisms 2020, 8, 200; doi:10.3390/microorganisms8020200.) TcdA and TcdB are exotoxins that bind to human intestinal epithelial cells and are responsible for inflammation, fluid and mucous secretion, as well as damage to the intestinal mucosa.
Bile acids perform many functional roles in the GI tract, with one of the most important being maintenance of a healthy microbiome by inhibiting C. difficile growth. Primary bile acids, which are secreted by the liver into the intestines, promote germination of C. difficile spores and thereby increase the risk of recurrent CDI after successful treatment of an initial episode. On the other hand, secondary bile acids, which are produced by normal gut microbiota through metabolism of primary bile acids, do not induce C. difficile sporulation and therefore protect against recurrent disease. Since ibezapolstat treatment leads to minimal disruption of the gut microbiome, bacterial production of secondary bile acids continues which may contribute to an anti-recurrence effect. Beneficial effects of bile acids include a decrease in primary bile acids and an increase in secondary bile acids in patients with CDI, which was observed in the Company's Ph2a trial results and previously reported (CID, 2022). In the Ph2b trial, ibezapolstat-treated patients showed lower concentrations of fecal primary bile acids, and higher beneficial ratio of secondary to primary bile acids than vancomycin-treated patients.
About Acurx Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Acurx Pharmaceuticals is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing a new class of small molecule antibiotics for difficult-to-treat bacterial infections. The Company's approach is to develop antibiotic candidates with a Gram-positive selective spectrum (GPSS®) that blocks the active site of the Gram-positive specific bacterial enzyme DNA polymerase IIIC (pol IIIC), inhibiting DNA replication and leading to Gram-positive bacterial cell death. Its R&D pipeline includes antibiotic product candidates that target Gram-positive bacteria, including Clostridioides difficile, methicillin- resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin resistant Enterococcus (VRE), drug- resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (DRSP) and B. anthracis (anthrax; a Bioterrorism Category A Threat-Level pathogen). Acurx's lead product candidate, ibezapolstat, for the treatment of C. difficile Infection is preparing to advance into international Phase 3 trials.
Additionally, the Company has initiated start-up activities for a ground-breaking clinical trial in patients with rCDI with the first patient expected to enroll in the fourth quarter this year. This trial is a 20-patient, open-label pilot trial in patients with multiply-recurrent CDI with at least 3 episodes of CDI in the past year and will inform elements of a planned active-controlled, Phase 3 registration trial in the rCDI. Successful trial outcome has the potential to shift the paradigm of treatment and prevention of rCDI from two agents to one.
The Company's preclinical pipeline includes development of an oral product candidate for treatment of ABSSSI (Acute Bacterial Skin and Skin Structure Infections), upon which a development program for post-exposure prophylaxis of inhalation anthrax is being planned in parallel.

The consideration to be paid for the Notes validly tendered (and not validly withdrawn) and accepted for purchase pursuant to the Offers will be determined at 10:00 a.m., New York City time, on July 10, 2026 (the “Price Determination Time”) in the manner described in the Offer to Purchase by reference to the applicable fixed spread specified on the front cover of the Offer to Purchase for each series of Notes over the applicable yield to the maturity date or par call date, as applicable, based on the bid-side price of the applicable U.S. Treasury Security (the “Reference Treasury Security”) specified on the front cover of the Offer to Purchase in the column entitled “Reference U.S. Treasury Security.” Each holder who validly tendered and did not validly withdraw its Notes at or prior to the Early Tender Time and whose Notes are accepted for purchase will be entitled to receive the applicable “Total Consideration,” which includes an early tender premium of $30 per $1,000 principal amount of Notes so tendered and accepted for purchase (the “Early Tender Premium”). The Early Tender Premium will be included in the Total Consideration for each series of Notes, and will not constitute an additional or increased payment. In addition, in each case, holders whose Notes are accepted for purchase will receive accrued and unpaid interest on their Notes up to, but excluding, July 14, 2026 (the “Early Settlement Date”), payable on the Early Settlement Date.
Since the aggregate purchase price, not including accrued and unpaid interest, payable in respect of the Notes that were validly tendered and not validly withdrawn in the Offers at or before the Early Tender Time is expected to exceed the Offer Cap, FedEx expects to accept for purchase pursuant to the Offers the full amount of each series of the 4.500% Notes due 2065 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 1), the full amount of each series of the 3.250% Notes due 2041 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 2), the full amount of each series of the 4.050% Notes due 2048 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 3), the full amount of each series of the 3.875% Notes due 2042 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 4), the full amount of each series of the 4.100% Notes due 2045 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 5), the full amount of each series of the 4.100% Notes due 2043 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 6), the full amount of each series of the 4.400% Notes due 2047 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 7), the full amount of each series of the 4.550% Notes due 2046 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 8), the full amount of each series of the 4.750% Notes due 2045 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 9), the full amount of each series of the 2.400% Notes due 2031 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 10), the full amount of each series of the 4.950% Notes due 2048 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 11), the full amount of each series of the 3.900% Notes due 2035 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 12) and a portion of each series of the 5.100% Notes due 2044 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 13) validly tendered and not validly withdrawn at or prior to the Early Tender Time on a prorated basis as described in the Offer to Purchase, so that the aggregate purchase price does not exceed the Offer Cap. The 3.100% Notes due 2029 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 14), the 5.250% Notes due 2050 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 15), the 3.400% Notes due 2028 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 16), the 4.250% Notes due 2030 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 17), the 4.200% Notes due 2028 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 18) and the 4.900% Notes due 2034 (which have an Acceptance Priority Level of 19) will not be accepted for purchase. In addition, since the aggregate purchase price, not including accrued and unpaid interest, payable in respect of the Notes that were validly tendered and not validly withdrawn in the Offers at or before the Early Tender Time is expected to exceed the Offer Cap, FedEx does not expect to accept for purchase any Notes tendered after the Early Tender Time.
None of the Offers is conditioned on any of the other Offers or upon any minimum principal amount of Notes of any series being tendered. None of the Offers is subject to a financing condition.
FedEx expects to issue a press release later today following the Price Determination Time announcing the Total Consideration payable in connection with the Offers.
FedEx expressly reserves the right, in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law, to (1) terminate any or all of the Offers and not accept for purchase any of the Notes not theretofore accepted for purchase in the terminated Offer or Offers, (2) waive any and all of the conditions to the Offers on or prior to the time the Notes are accepted for purchase in any or all of the Offers, (3) accept for purchase and pay for all Notes validly tendered at or before the Early Tender Time or the time at which the Offers are scheduled to expire (the “Expiration Time”) and not validly withdrawn at or before the Withdrawal Deadline in any or all of the Offers and to keep any or all of the Offers open or extend the Early Tender Time, Withdrawal Deadline or Expiration Time to a later date and time, (4) increase or decrease the Offer Cap or change the Acceptance Priority Levels or (5) otherwise amend the terms and conditions of the Offers.

FedEx Corporation reported a non-GAAP Q4 EPS beat, but GAAP margins compressed and shares declined, signaling deeper concerns. Adjusted EPS growth guidance for 2026 requires margin expansion not yet evident, raising skepticism about the achievability of targets. Valuation models suggest a fair value of $345–$355, implying limited upside and supporting a Hold rating until margin expansion is proven.
FedEx plans to sell FedEx Supply Chain to CMA CGM Group, a Marseille-based global provider of sea, land, air and logistics solutions, at an enterprise value of $1.4 billion.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to customary regulatory approvals, the companies said in a Wednesday (July 1) press release.
FedEx Supply Chain provides warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, returns, recycling and transportation management services, according to a company structure page on FedEx’s website.
Upon the closing of the acquisition, CMA CGM subsidiary CEVA Logistics would see its North American contract logistics operations nearly triple in size. After integrating FedEx Supply Chain’s assets and nearly 10,000 team members, CEVA Logistics would operate about 150 warehouses and have 20,000 employees in North America, according to the release.
In addition, following the execution of the transaction, CMA CGM and FedEx expect to enter into multiyear commercial agreements in which CMA CGM will become a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx and the companies will work together on air cargo capacity solutions. These agreements are expected to begin between now and 2028, per the release.
CMA CGM Group Chairman and CEO Rodolphe Saadé said in the release that the acquisition and partnership will expand CEVA Logistics’ activities in North America and strengthen the company’s ability to provide integrated supply chain solutions.
“These deals also reinforce our long-term commitment to investing in the United States and supporting the resilience and efficiency of its supply chain,” Saadé said.
FedEx President and CEO Raj Subramaniam said in the release that the sale of FedEx Supply Chain enables FedEx to continue sharpening its focus on high-value verticals such as healthcare, automotive, aerospace and data centers.
“By streamlining our portfolio, FedEx is better positioned to execute our long-term vision and continue to serve as the heartbeat of the industrial economy, delivering unmatched connectivity, reliability and value to our customers globally,” Subramaniam said.
When reporting its quarterly earnings on June 23, FedEx said that it finalized the spinoff of its less-than-truckload (LTL) business, FedEx Freight, into a new publicly traded company on June 1. The company said in an earnings presentation that the move positions both companies for success as “focused industry leaders.”
Key Takeaways FedEx is cutting flight frequencies, parking aircraft and reducing its workforce to counter weak demand. FedEx has reported better-than-expected results in Q4 driven by cost-cut initiatives.FedEx is reshaping costs through DRIVE, which delivered $4B in recurring savings across fiscal 2024-2025. FedEx (FDX - Free Report) is reshaping its cost structure through the company-wide DRIVE initiative to better align operations with post-pandemic market conditions. The program delivered $1.8 billion in recurring savings in fiscal 2024 and another $2.2 billion in fiscal 2025.
In addition, FedEx is improving efficiency through network transformation initiatives such as Network 2.0, Tricolor and its European optimization efforts. These initiatives have enabled the company to surpass its fiscal 2026 transformation-related savings target of $1 billion. At the same time, investments in data and technology are helping FedEx enhance customer experience, secure new business and unlock additional value.
However, geopolitical tensions and persistent inflation continue to pressure consumer sentiment and economic growth, resulting in softer shipping demand. To counter these headwinds, FedEx has stepped up cost-reduction efforts by cutting flight frequencies, parking aircraft and reducing its workforce. These initiatives contributed to better-than-expected earnings and revenues in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.
Rival United Parcel Service (UPS - Free Report) is also pursuing aggressive cost-cutting measures to navigate the weak demand environment. The company has eliminated multiple operational positions and closed several facilities as it restructures the network and focuses on higher-margin business opportunities.
A key part of UPS' strategy is reducing its dependence on Amazon (AMZN - Free Report) . In 2025, UPS reached an agreement in principle with Amazon to reduce shipment volumes by more than 50% by June 2026. CEO Carol Tomé noted that Amazon was not UPS' most profitable customer and the planned volume reduction is allowing it to right-size the network while prioritizing more profitable business.

Federal agency says blind employees were denied reasonable accommodations needed to perform essential job duties The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has launched a federal lawsuit against Federal Express Corporation, alleging the delivery giant violated federal law by discriminating against blind employees at a North Carolina facility.
The federal agency claims that FedEx, formerly known as FedEx Ground Package Systems, Inc., failed to provide reasonable accommodations to four package handlers and a larger class of blind workers at its Kernersville location.
According to the lawsuit, denying the accommodations prevented the employees from performing their essential job functions and enjoying the same employment privileges as workers without disabilities.

In addition to the discrimination charges, the EEOC suit alleges FedEx failed to maintain required administrative records in compliance with federal law.
Melinda Dugas, the regional attorney for the EEOC’s Charlotte district, said the alleged conduct is a clear violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which mandates workplace accommodations for disabilities unless they cause an undue hardship for the employer.

Analyst Ken Hoexter said the less-than-truckload carrier delivered fiscal fourth-quarter adjusted operating income above expectations, driven by stronger pricing, higher revenue per shipment and increased weight per shipment.
Revenue rose 5% year over year to $2.41 billion, while adjusted operating income reached $363 million, topping the firm’s forecast by $27 million.
Transition Outlook ImprovesFedEx Freight also introduced financial targets for its June-to-December 2026 transition period, projecting revenue growth of 4% to 6%, adjusted operating income of $605 million to $645 million, adjusted operating margins of 11.5% to 12.0%, and adjusted earnings of $2.40 to $2.60 per share. Hoexter raised his estimates to reflect the stronger outlook.
The analyst expects earnings growth during the transition period to be driven primarily by pricing, with higher yields expected to add roughly 200 basis points to margins.
Efficiency initiatives are also expected to support profitability, although variable compensation costs, transition service agreement expenses and softer shipment volumes are likely to partially offset those gains.
Margin Expansion Remains Key ThesisBofA increased its 2027 earnings estimate by about 2% to $5.41 per share and said FedEx Freight’s focus on profitable revenue growth and long-term margin improvement supports a higher valuation.
Hoexter said management believes the ongoing unwinding of bundled customer contracts poses limited pricing risk because only about 10% of revenue is tied to those agreements and discounts have averaged just 1% to 3%.
Management also identified retail, healthcare, grocery, data centers and small- to medium-sized businesses as key growth markets.
