Large Wallets Pull Nearly 90,000 ETH From Coinbase PrimeA cluster of newly created wallets has withdrawn a combined 89,396 $ETH, valued at roughly $164.9 million, from Coinbase Prime over the past three days, according to on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain. The latest batch alone accounted for 20,000 $ETH, worth approximately $37.7 million.

The pattern is drawing attention because the wallets involved were created shortly before each withdrawal, a behaviour that analysts often associate with institutional players setting up fresh custody addresses rather than routine retail transfers. Large withdrawals from centralized exchanges like Coinbase typically suggest accumulation strategies by major holders, possibly in anticipation of price moves or to shift assets to decentralised wallets for security or staking purposes.

The latest transactions suggest that whale activity is increasing just as Ethereum begins recovering from its recent correction. Supporting that narrative, Binance's Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) has climbed to its highest level in nearly three months, reflecting sustained spot buying rather than a rally driven purely by leveraged futures traders.

Abraxas Capital Adds to Its ETH PositionAbraxas Capital has also been active. The fund recently withdrew an additional 8,452 $ETH, worth around $16 million, from Binance and Bybit, continuing a months-long pattern of exchange outflows. Pulling Ethereum off two separate exchanges suggests Abraxas wants those tokens in cold storage or a self-custodied wallet, not on a trading desk.

Earlier in 2025, Abraxas reportedly accumulated over $477 million in ETH through a series of purchases, partially financed by borrowing stablecoins. The firm has continued that strategy into 2026, and if Abraxas is genuinely trimming Bitcoin exposure to build Ethereum positions, it joins a growing chorus of institutional capital that has been warming to Ethereum's ecosystem developments.

The broader context matters too. The U.S. government moved nearly $300 million in Ethereum to Coinbase Prime earlier this week, yet private whale wallets have continued accumulating in parallel, suggesting demand is absorbing available supply. Whether the current wave of outflows reflects genuine institutional conviction or simple wallet reorganisation remains unconfirmed, but the scale and frequency of transfers is keeping market participants alert.

TL;DR U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $79.15 million in net inflows on July 16, according to SoSoValue. BlackRock’s IBIT led all Bitcoin ETFs with $33.44 million in fresh inflows. Spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $28.04 million in total net outflows during the same trading session. Bitwise’s ETHW posted the largest single-day inflow among Ethereum ETFs at $2.28 million. U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) returned to positive territory on July 16, recording $79.15 million in net inflows, even as spot Ethereum ETFs continued to face investor withdrawals. The latest data from SoSoValue shows BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led Bitcoin fund inflows with $33.44 million, while Bitwise’s ETHW posted the largest inflow among Ethereum funds despite the sector finishing the day with an overall $28.04 million net outflow.

According to SoSoValue data, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded total net inflows of USD 79.15 million on July 16, led by BlackRock’s IBIT with USD 33.44 million. The mixed performance underscores how institutional investors continue to favor Bitcoin exposure while remaining more cautious on Ethereum after several weeks of uneven ETF demand.

BlackRock Leads Bitcoin ETF Recovery According to SoSoValue data, the July 16 session saw Bitcoin ETFs attract fresh capital after a volatile stretch that has featured alternating days of inflows and outflows throughout July. BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for the largest share of new investments, adding $33.44 million, helping the sector finish the day with a net gain of $79.15 million.

The accompanying SoSoValue chart shows Bitcoin ETF assets standing at approximately $77.72 billion, with the daily inflow occurring as Bitcoin traded around the $64,000 mark.

Although the latest inflow is modest compared with the billion-dollar sessions seen earlier in the ETF market’s history, it suggests institutional demand has not disappeared despite recent market consolidation. Recent trading sessions have been characterized by rapidly shifting investor sentiment as macroeconomic uncertainty and crypto-specific developments continue to influence fund flows.

Ethereum ETFs Remain Under Pressure While Bitcoin products attracted fresh investment, Ethereum ETFs moved in the opposite direction despite a good market day for Ethereum the day before.

The group posted a combined $28.04 million in net outflows for the day, extending the uneven pattern that has defined Ethereum fund performance in recent weeks.

Despite the overall decline, Bitwise’s ETHW stood out by recording the day’s largest individual inflow at $2.28 million, suggesting that selective investors continue accumulating exposure even as broader sentiment toward Ethereum funds remains cautious.

The divergence between Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs highlights how institutional capital is currently flowing unevenly across digital assets, with Bitcoin continuing to attract relatively stronger demand.

ETF Flows Remain a Closely Watched Market Indicator Spot ETF activity has become one of the crypto market’s most closely monitored indicators since the products launched, offering insight into institutional appetite for digital assets.

While one day’s inflows do not establish a long-term trend, analysts often view sustained ETF demand as a sign of growing investor confidence because these products provide regulated exposure to cryptocurrencies through traditional brokerage accounts.

BlackRock remains the world’s largest asset manager, and IBIT has consistently ranked among the most actively traded spot Bitcoin ETFs since its launch. Continued inflows into the fund are frequently interpreted as evidence that institutional participation remains resilient despite short-term price volatility.

Investors will now be watching whether the latest inflows develop into a broader recovery after weeks of fluctuating demand.

Earlier this month, Bitcoin ETFs experienced several sessions of significant outflows before returning to positive territory on multiple occasions, reflecting an increasingly volatile institutional landscape rather than a sustained buying or selling trend. Ethereum ETFs have likewise alternated between inflows and outflows, although recent sessions have generally shown weaker momentum than their Bitcoin counterparts.

In the lastest Ethereum news, Fundstrat’s Tom Lee is arguing that Ethereum’s next major move has nothing to do with crypto-native speculation, and everything to do with institutional capital that is already deployed and building.

Writing in Bitmine’s July Chairman’s message, Lee pointed to BlackRock BUIDL, JPMorgan MONY, and Robinhood Chain as concrete evidence that Wall Street has moved from observation to construction on Ethereum’s rails. The ETH price currently sits near $1,880, about 60% below its 2025 peak near $5,000.

The gap between that peak and current levels is the central question Lee addresses. His read is that it reflects a regime change, not a structural ceiling, the first era of ICOs, NFTs, ETFs, and stablecoins has run its course, and the institutions now building on Ethereum represent a fundamentally different demand base with longer time horizons and larger capital pools.

Discover: The Best Token Presales

Ethereum News: BlackRock, JPMorgan, and the Tokenization Build-OutLee’s institutional case rests on names that move markets in traditional finance. BlackRock BUIDL, the asset manager’s tokenized Treasury fund, now holds roughly $2.6 billion and has earned Moody’s top money-market rating (Moody’s cited).

JPMorgan MONY extended the bank’s tokenization push that began with Onyx in 2020, adding another institutional-grade vehicle to the Ethereum ecosystem.

Electric Capital data cited by Lee puts nearly 6,000 developers on the EVM stack, ranking Ethereum first among all chains for new builders, a metric that matters more to institutions evaluating long-term platform risk than short-term price momentum.

— Bitmine (NYSE-BMNR) $ETH (@BitMNR) July 16, 2026 Wall Street is building on Ethereum, Lee argues in the Chairman’s message, contrasting 2022’s crypto bear-market backdrop with continued institution-led development.

In 2025 and 2026, institutional crypto infrastructure has continued to expand even as ETH price fell sharply from its cycle highs. That divergence between on-chain institutional activity and spot price is the core of his thesis. For more on how BlackRock’s ETF flows are reinforcing this dynamic, see this analysis of BlackRock ETF inflows and their ETH price implications.

Discover: The Best Crypto to Diversify Your Portfolio

Robinhood Chain: ETH as Settlement MoneyRobinhood Chain, launched July 1 on Arbitrum, handed Lee one of his more striking data points. Within two weeks of going live, it ranked third among all networks by DEX volume at about $811 million daily, briefly surpassing Ethereum itself according to DefiLlama. Ethereum has since reclaimed that position, and cumulative Robinhood Chain volume has crossed $1 billion.

In the Chairman’s message news, Lee argues that Robinhood Chain’s use of ETH (as described in his discussion of the network’s fees and how it settles) makes it a meaningful Ethereum use case.

Source: Robinhood Chain TVL / DefiLlamaThe counterargument is equally straightforward. Artemis CEO Jon Ma has noted that Robinhood Chain’s volume spike is predominantly meme coin-driven, not institutional flows.

And the fee economics cut against Lee’s framing, Robinhood Chain pays Ethereum’s base layer almost nothing in fees. High DEX volume on an Arbitrum-based chain does not translate 1-for-1 into ETH fee burn at the L1 level.

The Amazon Analogy, and the Conflict It CarriesLee frames the current ETH setup through an Amazon analogy: the stock traded near a split-adjusted $6 for 12 years before climbing to $241 as its total addressable market expanded beyond what early investors could model. He also describes the psychology around sellers at depressed prices.

He also concedes the bearish read directly. ETH has failed twice at the $5,000 level, and skeptics argue that the top of the range could limit upside this cycle.

Source: ETHUSD / TradingviewThe conflict of interest embedded in Lee’s thesis deserves direct acknowledgment. Bitmine’s latest weekly disclosure shows 5.77 million ETH, about 4.8% of the 120.7 million total supply. Lee is among the biggest beneficiaries if institutional adoption confirms his thesis.

That does not make his argument wrong, but it reframes every price target he issues as coming from a holder with an extraordinary financial stake in the outcome.

The institutional infrastructure Lee cites is real. BlackRock BUIDL’s Moody’s rating, JPMorgan’s MONY fund, and Robinhood Chain’s early volume numbers are all verifiable facts, not projections.

Whether they are sufficient to drive ETH from $1,880 back through $5,000 and beyond depends on whether institutional capital deepens from product launch into sustained secondary market demand, a step that none of these programs has yet demonstrated at scale.

Ethereum roste díky ETF a Robinhood Chain

CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Ethereum price today: $1,870Ethereum has outperformed crypto majors Bitcoin, XRP, SOL and HYPE following a market boost from cooling inflation reports. The Robinhood Chain launch, ETH ETF inflows, BitMine's accumulation and Clarity Act discussions are spurring the outperformance.ETH saw a rejection at the 100-day EMA after rising 10% over the past week.Ethereum (ETH) has outperformed the top 10 cryptocurrencies since the crypto market began a recovery last week. On a weekly timeframe, the top altcoin is seeing an 8% gain, compared to 2.4%, 1.4%, 1.6%, -1.8% and -3.5% for Bitcoin (BTC), BNB, XRP, Solana (SOL) and Hyperliquid (HYPE).

While cooling inflation reports and declining energy prices were primarily responsible for the recent broad rally across the crypto market, ETH's outperformance stems from several other key factors.

ETH vs Top Cryptos. Source: CoinGeckoWhy Ethereum is outperforming other top cryptosThe Robinhood Chain, launched on July 1 as an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2), has been spurring demand for native ETH. The amount of ETH bridged from the L1 to the L2 chain has surpassed $164 million, a 10x increase in the past week, according to onchain analytics platform Token Terminal.

"If adoption continues, the chain could become a meaningful new source of demand for Ethereum," the platform stated in a Thursday X post.

The chain has seen strong demand over the past week, attracting token launchpads and memecoin activity. In 2024, Solana saw a similar upsurge in memecoin activity before going on a run that outperformed major cryptocurrencies.

Beyond that, Ethereum is also attracting institutional capital again, with $96 million in net inflows over the past three days. Last week, US spot ETH ETFs ended an eight-week outflow streak after recording $84.4 million in net inflows, per SoSoValue data. Since the beginning of the month, the products have only seen two outflow days, while XRP and Solana products are struggling to attract capital.

Similarly, US spot BTC ETFs have posted four outflow days so far in July and are on track to end the week on negative flows.

In addition, Ethereum treasury firm BitMine Immersion has remained a consistent source of demand for the top altcoin, accumulating roughly 70,000 ETH in the past two weeks.

Strategy, on the other hand, which has been a major demand driver for Bitcoin, flipped to distribution over the past two weeks after it sold $216 million worth of BTC. The firm also failed to log any buying activity last week.

Increased discussion and positive sentiment around the Clarity Act are also filtering into Ethereum, as it hosts the majority of onchain activity. The L1 is the largest chain by total value locked (TVL) and tokenized assets, with $40.9 billion and $14.8 billion, respectively, according to DefiLlama data.

Despite several positive developments surrounding ETH currently, the broader crypto market recovery remains fragile amid resumed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Bitfinex analysts also noted that ETH ETF inflows are not yet strong enough to drive prices.

"The $96 million total sits against a market capitalization above $220 billion, which makes it a rounding error even allowing for the illiquid spot market. A bid concentrated in one issuer remains too narrow to call a regime," the analyst wrote in a Thursday market commentary.

"Whether Ether ETFs continue to draw buyer interest remains to be seen; they have struggled to do so across nearly two years since launch."

Bitfinex added that sustained improvements in onchain activity are a "stronger catalyst" for an L1 like Ethereum.

Ethereum Price Forecast: ETH fails to reclaim 100-day EMA despite 10% jumpOn the daily chart, ETH/USDT trades at $1,874, maintaining a constructive bullish bias as price remains above the 20- and 50-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) at $1,780 and $1,810, respectively. The altcoin remains capped by the longer-term 100-day EMA at $1,948 after a 10% rise over the past week, suggesting room for further upside only if this barrier is reclaimed.

Momentum stays supportive, with the 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) around 60 and the Stochastic hovering in the low 70s, hinting at a cooldown after a strong rally.

On the topside, immediate resistance is located at the horizontal level of $1,909, followed by $2,018 and $2,107, where prior supply converges. Above these, additional resistance is seen at $2,211 and then $2,388.

ETH/USDT daily chartOn the downside, initial support emerges at $1,806, ahead of the nearby dynamic floors offered by the 50- and 20-day EMAs. Below these, more substantial demand is seen at $1,741, with deeper supports at $1,524, $1,404 and $1,155 in the event of a broader corrective slide.

Enso odhalilo toxické pooly na Ethereum a Polygon
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Enso says it found two real pools, on Ethereum and Polygon, engineered to pass a wallet’s pre-trade simulation with an attractive quote and then execute at a worse rate.

Posted July 16, 2026 at 9:00 am EST.

A new piece of research says some DeFi liquidity pools are built to lie to the software that routes a user’s trade.

Enso, an onchain development firm, published research on Thursday describing what it calls “toxic pools,” malicious pools that show an accurate, attractive price when a wallet or trading app simulates a swap, then deliver a materially worse result once the transaction is mined.

How the trick works Most wallets and aggregators decide which route offers the best price by simulating a trade before sending it. A toxic pool is engineered to game that step: it returns a strong quote during the simulation, so routing systems pick it, then behaves differently on-chain. Unlike ordinary slippage or MEV, the deception targets the quote itself, Enso said.

“The industry has spent years optimizing price discovery,” said Milos Costantini, Enso’s co-founder and chief product officer, in a statement accompanying the report he co-authored. “Our findings suggest the next challenge is verifying execution integrity. If transaction simulations can be manipulated while real execution tells a different story, we need better ways to verify what users actually receive.”

What the data shows Enso documented two cases. A manipulated Curve pool on Ethereum processed more than 129,000 swaps at worse-than-quoted rates, which Enso estimated overstated quotes by roughly $225,000 and burned close to $30,000 in gas on failed transactions. A separate Uniswap v4 hook on Polygon failed 99.1% of the time, repeatedly luring routers before reverting. Enso put the attacker’s realized profit across both pools at about $34,600.

Both pools have since gone quiet, with the Polygon one disabled in May and the Curve pool active through late June. But Enso said the same operator deployed other contracts, suggesting the technique can be repeated, and it found the Ethereum pool alternated between honest and manipulated behavior, so a single check would not catch it.

A vendor with a fix The disclosure comes as Enso expands Enso Shield, a product it sells to detect exactly this kind of manipulation. The company, which says it has helped settle more than $15 billion onchain, framed the finding as an industry-wide problem and called for independent validation, noting it worked with contacts at Curve and Oku.

Unchained has previously covered how MEV bots quietly extract value from ordinary DeFi trades.

Base opouští social a sází na trading

CoinGecko News 78

The Coinbase executive is refocusing the largest Ethereum Layer 2 on trading, payments and AI agents after conceding its onchain-social push failed

Jesse Pollak, the Coinbase executive who created Base, handed the consumer Base app back to Coinbase and named crypto investor Jordan Fish, known as Cobie, to lead it, while admitting that his two-year bet on onchain social products and creator coins was a mistake.

Pollak said in a post on X on Tuesday that he had made a "two pronged bet" to grow Base: that builders would drive the next wave of crypto adoption, and that the adoption would come from onchain-native social experiences. He said the first bet was right and the second was wrong. "the entire social side of the market that many of us had been building towards - farcaster, zora, miniapps, and yes, creator coins - disintegrated completely," he wrote. "i was definitively wrong."

Base ranks as the fifth-largest blockchain by total value locked, at $4.54 billion, and is the largest Ethereum Layer 2 by that measure, ahead of Arbitrum's $1.23 billion, according to DefiLlama data on Wednesday. Zora's ZORA token, tied to the creator-coin experiment Pollak singled out, trades about 95% below its August 2025 peak, at roughly half a cent, with a market value near $31 million, CoinGecko data show.

A Retreat From Onchain SocialThe handoff marks the clearest reversal yet of a strategy Coinbase spent more than a year promoting. Pollak said the focus on social had left Base trailing scaled competitors in perpetuals and prediction markets, and with ground to make up in tokenization and enterprise payments. "the collateral damage was pretty bad," he wrote. "and this year has been an exercise in eating shit."

Pollak said he had shifted his own attention back to Base's blockchain, away from the app, and questioned his prior assumptions. "I thought for a long time that social was the only thing that could drive the sort of viral growth to get crypto to a billion people," he wrote. "It's clear that better money is more than enough - we are seeing this live with stablecoins, predictions, perpetuals, tokenization."

He set three priorities for Base in 2026: "winning trading, payments, and agents." He said Base would aim to be "the place that the world's money settles over the next century," and named Robinhood and Stripe as competitors he welcomed.

Cobie Takes the Trading SurfacePollak said he had handed the app "back to the coinbase mothership," where Fish would run it and expand it "beyond the base ecosystem in ways that tbh i won't love as the leader of base." Coinbase brought Fish in-house last year when it acquired his fundraising platform Echo for a reported $375 million in cash and stock.

Fish framed his new remit more broadly than the Base app alone. "I am responsible for trading products at Coinbase (CB app / Pro / Baseapp / etc)," he said in a post on X on Wednesday. He described the decision in characteristically self-deprecating terms: "I cant explain why I did this except I like the opportunity to make something actually good more than I like playing Factorio. So ye maybe I'm an idiot, let's find out."

The Broader PivotThe move lands amid an industry-wide shift away from consumer social apps toward trading, payments and tokenization. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said days earlier that the company's content coins "didn't work" and that Coinbase had "pivoted early this year," adding that its priorities had been "trading, payments, and agents (in that order)."

The timing also follows Robinhood's launch of its own Ethereum Layer 2 last week, built around tokenized stocks and meme trading, adding a well-capitalized rival in the same trading-first lane Base now says it will contest.

Top-Five NetworkPollak is reframing the app, not retreating from the chain. Base remains a top-five network by TVL and continues to process meaningful onchain trading, with about $886 million in decentralized exchange volume over the past 24 hours and $25.6 billion over the past 30 days, DefiLlama data show. Pollak said Base has posted quarterly growth in DEX market share and payment volume, though he did not provide supporting figures.

Fish's mandate also consolidates Coinbase's trading surfaces, the main Coinbase app, Coinbase Pro and the Base app, under one leader, suggesting the reshuffle is less a demotion of Base than a bet on unifying how Coinbase sells trading. Armstrong has framed the trading focus as a continuation rather than a reversal, saying most of Base's resources already go toward trading infrastructure.

Whether the reset closes Base's gap in perps and prediction markets will show up in onchain volume and market-share data in the coming quarters.

T. Rowe Price spustila první aktivně spravované krypto ETF TKNZ

CoinGecko News 92

T. Rowe Price, which manages nearly $2 trillion in assets, has launched the first active crypto ETF, which provides exposure to crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Hyperliquid. Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas had previously said that this launch was notable because the asset manager was the largest active manager to enter the crypto space.

T. Rowe Price Unveils First Active Crypto ETF In a press release, the asset manager announced the launch of the first active crypto ETF, which began trading on the NYSE Arca today under the ticker TKNZ. “The fund is the first actively managed multi-token spot exchange-traded product* offered in the marketplace,” the firm noted.

The T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF notably offers exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, XRP, Solana, and Hyperliquid. The Fund will also hold top meme coins Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, making it the first U.S. Fund to offer spot exposure to SHIB.

The asset manager also noted that the crypto ETF is designed to capitalize on emerging trends, momentum-driven rallies, and market rotations among crypto assets. Meanwhile, the Fund will offer a net fee waiver, which will be effective until May 31, 2027. The management fee during this period will be 0.75%.

The T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF joins a host of other crypto ETFs that have launched this year, including the Hyperliquid ETFs. As CoinGape reported, Morgan Stanley’s Ethereum and Solana ETFs are about to launch, with the Wall Street giant filing amendments to its S-1.

‘Smart Timing’ For The ETF Launch Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas commended T. Rowe Price for the timing of the launch of its active crypto ETF. “I think they were smart with the timing- waiting till the Oct selloff dust settled a bit,” he said in an X post.

T Rowe Price’s Active Crypto ETF $TKNZ is ready for launch. Any day now, I’d guess Thursday. I think they were smart with the timing- waiting till the Oct selloff dust settled a bit. pic.twitter.com/5LZO5WHrqn

— Eric Balchunas (@EricBalchunas) July 14, 2026

It is worth noting that the SEC had approved the crypto ETF last month but waited until now to launch the Fund. The asset manager had first filed for the month in October last year, around the time of the infamous crypto crash.

Meanwhile, Balchunas had previously said that the T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF was notable because the asset manager was “by far the biggest active manager to apply their active prowess to this space.”

Zamův důvěrný USDC vault na Morpho je osmý
ETH Ethereum USDC USD Coin
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Zama says a lending vault that accepts only confidential USDC has grown into one of the largest USDC vaults on Morpho’s Ethereum deployment, weeks after opening to depositors.

Summary

Zama says confidential USDC deposits reached $23.23 million, ranking eighth among Ethereum Morpho USDC vaults. The vault lets users earn DeFi yield while keeping individual balances and deposit positions encrypted. Morpho’s growing institutional use shows privacy tools are entering established onchain lending infrastructure at scale. According to a July 16 post from Zama, the Steakhouse Confidential Prime USDC vault held $23.23 million at Ethereum block 25,544,806. The company said that placed it eighth by total deposits among Morpho V1 and V2 USDC vaults on Ethereum. The ranking and deposit figure reflect Zama’s stated snapshot and can change as users deposit or withdraw funds.

Confidential USDC moves into established DeFi infrastructure The Steakhouse Confidential Prime USDC vault opened on June 23. Steakhouse Financial curates the strategy, Morpho provides the lending infrastructure, and Zama supplies the confidentiality technology.

Users deposit confidential USDC, or cUSDC, rather than standard USDC. Zama uses Fully Homomorphic Encryption to keep individual balances and transaction amounts encrypted while allowing the assets to interact with applications on Ethereum. Deposits ultimately enter a strategy using Morpho lending markets backed by collateral including cbBTC, WBTC and wstETH.

Zama points to $23.23M TVL as a demand signal Zama described the vault’s growth as evidence that users are willing to place capital into confidential financial infrastructure. The company said “capital is ready to flow through confidential rails,” while acknowledging that an ongoing incentive program has also helped attract deposits.

The vault launched with a 12-week reward program on top of the yield generated by its underlying Morpho strategy. Zama said the native strategy was producing about 4% when the product launched, while additional incentives rewarded early depositors. The company had reported more than $14 million deposited by July 2, before the total reached the $23.23 million figure reported on July 16.

Morpho attracts more institutional-style vault products The confidential vault arrives as Morpho attracts asset managers, wallets and professional curators. Bitwise launched its first onchain vault on Morpho in January, targeting stablecoin lending through a non-custodial structure.

Morpho has also expanded through consumer wallet integrations. As reported by crypto.news, Trezor added access to Steakhouse-curated USDC and USDT vaults in May. Those developments place Zama’s product within an existing lending market rather than requiring users to move liquidity to a separate blockchain.

Confidential finance still faces compliance questions Zama’s confidential USDC system has already faced a test involving the underlying stablecoin. In May, a US court order led Circle to temporarily freeze a Zama contract holding about $12.5 million in USDC. The order was later lifted, and Zama said the funds returned to normal operation.

As previously reported, the episode prompted Zama to accelerate work on compliance and controlled disclosure tools. The company says its system encrypts transaction details rather than making users anonymous and plans tools that can respond to legal and regulatory requirements.

Zama argues that its cross-chain confidentiality model can add privacy where liquidity already exists instead of requiring a new Layer 1 or Layer 2. The $23.23 million vault provides an early test of that approach, although continued deposits after the incentive program ends will offer a clearer measure of lasting demand.

ETRADE, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, has completed its rollout of spot services for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, enabling eligible clients to buy, sell, and hold these cryptocurrencies directly within their brokerage accounts. The service, which comes with a transaction fee of 50 basis points, marks a significant integration of traditional finance with the crypto market. This offering positions ETRADE competitively against other major platforms like Charles Schwab and Coinbase, which have higher fees. While the platform currently does not support transfers to external wallets, such functionality is expected to be added later this year.

Market participants appear to have responded positively to this development, particularly regarding the potential impact on Solana. The move may indicate increased demand and activity, contributing to market expectations of Solana’s price movement. Notably, this development coincides with a broader trend of traditional financial institutions embracing cryptocurrencies, potentially sparking a competitive environment around retail crypto fees.

The introduction of spot access for these cryptocurrencies by a major financial institution like Morgan Stanley’s E*TRADE suggests increased mainstream acceptance and integration of digital assets. The market’s reaction appears consistent with scenarios where Solana could see heightened demand and volume.

Key Takeaways E*TRADE’s rollout of spot access for cryptocurrencies appears consistent with increased mainstream acceptance of digital assets. Market pricing suggests participants view this as supportive of increased Solana demand, potentially impacting its price. The competitive fee structure could lead to a broader retail crypto fee competition among traditional financial platforms. What to Watch Watch for potential announcements regarding the implementation of external wallet transfers, which could further influence market dynamics. Additionally, observe any strategic responses from competitors like Charles Schwab and Coinbase that may impact fee structures and market share. Solana’s price movements in the coming weeks will provide further insight into the market’s reaction to this integration, particularly if demand and volume increase as expected.

Ethereum testuje rezistence 2 000 USD díky přílivům do ETF

CoinGecko News 72

Ethereum is approaching a key technical threshold, with its price edging near the $2,000 level amid renewed institutional interest and increased network activity.

Spot ETFs and Institutional DemandAt the latest reading, Ethereum changed hands at $1,920.11, registering a 1.49% gain over the past 24 hours. The modest uptick is attributed to fresh investments flowing into spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and consistently stable trading activity.

SoSoValue reported that U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs attracted $58.34 million in daily net inflows, growing total net assets above $10 billion. Persistent inflows from large-scale investors typically reflect improving sentiment and greater market liquidity.

Analysts assess that a single day of strong inflows may not mark the beginning of a sustained trend, but ongoing institutional interest could provide stronger support for further price recovery.

MetricValueETH Price$1,920.1124h Change+1.49%ETF Daily Net Inflows$58.34 millionTotal ETF Net AssetsAbove $10 billionTechnical Analysis and Key LevelsEthereum faces its next technical test just below the $1,930–$2,000 resistance zone, a region where previous attempts to rally have lost steam. Market observers suggest that a confirmed close above this band could reinforce a bullish outlook. In contrast, renewed selling may keep ETH in its longer-term trading range.

Technical signals have improved recently, with the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) staying in positive territory and its main line holding above the signal line, hinting at growing upward momentum.

Trading volumes have also increased as the price recovered, reflecting firmer buyer participation. Buyers have been actively defending the $1,874 support zone, which remains an important threshold if the trend weakens.

A breakout beyond $2,000, especially if fueled by sustained trading volume, could provide more definitive proof that buyers are commanding the market.

Mini dictionary: MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence), a momentum indicator used in technical analysis to identify trend changes and the strength of price movements.

On-chain Activity and Market SentimentAccording to DefiLlama, Ethereum’s Total Value Locked (TVL) remains near recent highs, and active addresses are at elevated levels. Steady on-chain participation suggests users are engaging with the network, even amid recent market fluctuations.

Sustained user activity is often seen as a positive long-term signal, reinforcing fundamentals beyond short-term speculation.

Market analyst Ted Pillows commented on Ethereum’s technical setup, emphasizing that the “real test of $ETH will now start.” Pillows explained that since August 2025, Ethereum has often formed local tops within a few days after its daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) moved above 65. If ETH consolidates instead of reversing sharply, it could point to a potential shift in market behavior, not seen since April 2025.

Since August 2025, Ethereum has consistently peaked shortly after the daily RSI crossed above 65. If ETH price manages to consolidate as the RSI resets, it would mark the first major reversal signal since April 2025.

Outlook and Key TriggersMarket participants are closely checking whether Ethereum will break above the psychologically significant $2,000 threshold or face sellers at resistance once again. A successful push higher may encourage renewed bullish momentum and attract further investment. Conversely, a dip below the $1,874 support could put pressure back on buyers and increase the chance of another pullback.

Ethereum’s price action in the coming days may determine the near-term direction for both technical traders and longer-term investors.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $107.8 million in net inflows on Wednesday, while their Ethereum counterparts pulled in $53.8 million.

The numbers in context Earlier in July, Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $181.1 million on a single day, July 14. So Wednesday’s figure represents a moderation from that pace, though still firmly positive.

Cumulative net inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs have now surpassed $51 billion since their January 2024 launch.

At $53.8 million, Wednesday’s ether ETF inflows represented roughly half the Bitcoin figure. Ether ETFs launched several months after their Bitcoin predecessors.

Recovery from a rocky start to the year Earlier in 2026, both Bitcoin and ether ETFs experienced multi-week outflow streaks. The summer months have brought a clear reversal, with funds flowing back into both product categories.

BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale have continued to attract the lion’s share of flows.

What this means for investors When the SEC approved spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, the optimistic projections called for maybe $10 billion in the first year. The actual numbers have blown past even the most bullish forecasts, with cumulative net inflows now exceeding $51 billion.

Arthur Hayes a velryby nakupují ETH

Hayes Adds to ETH Position as On-Chain Activity Picks UpBitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes (@CryptoHayes) purchased 1,293 $ETH worth approximately $2.48 million on July 16, according to on-chain tracker Lookonchain. The buy brought his total accumulation on the day to more than 1,900 ETH. The transaction was routed through OTC desks, with Lookonchain noting that Hayes had earlier sent $1.25 million in USDC to Galaxy Digital (@galaxyhq) in exchange for 646 ETH, while a separate $1.25 million USDC transfer was sent to FalconX (@FalconXGlobal), likely for another over-the-counter deal.

The purchase marks a continued return to Ethereum for Hayes. The latest buys follow his sale of 6,000 ETH at a loss of around $606,000 in June. Hayes, the outspoken co-founder of derivatives exchange BitMEX, has been vocally bullish on Ethereum's long-term trajectory, arguing the asset is positioned to benefit from expanding macro liquidity and its central role in facilitating collateral across the decentralized finance landscape.

Three New Wallets Pull 30,000 ETH From Coinbase PrimeThe Hayes purchase coincides with broader whale activity in the Ethereum market. According to Lookonchain, three newly created wallets withdrew 30,000 $ETH worth approximately $57.66 million from Coinbase Prime in the hours preceding the Hayes buy. The new wallets receiving the ETH showed no outgoing transactions, suggesting a holding or accumulation strategy rather than an immediate sale.

Coinbase Prime, the institutional trading platform of Coinbase, is commonly used by large investors, hedge funds, and corporate treasuries for secure custody and trading. Withdrawals from the platform to fresh wallets are generally read by market participants as a bullish signal, as they reduce the supply of tokens readily available on exchanges. Recent data showed Ethereum's exchange supply ratio declining to 0.129, a level last seen in 2016, indicating that more ETH is moving away from centralized exchanges.

The accumulation activity extends beyond Hayes and the three new wallets. Amid extended sideways price movement, a separate whale withdrew 30,010 ETH worth $52.84 million from Coinbase Prime, while Lookonchain reported two additional buyers: one new wallet pulled 8,239 ETH worth $14.5 million from multiple exchanges and another purchased 11,843 ETH worth $20.8 million. Whether sustained demand at this scale can produce a durable price recovery for Ethereum remains to be seen, but the concentration of large-wallet buying in a short window is drawing attention across the market.

Ethereum chystá největší upgrade od The Merge
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Ethereum is preparing what many developers call its biggest upgrade since The Merge, the 2022 change that moved the network from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake consensus mechanism.

For context, The Merge was Ethereum's September 2022 switch from crypto mining (proof-of-work) to a system called proof-of-stake, where users lock up ETH to secure the network instead of running power-hungry computers. It cut Ethereum's energy use by more than 99% overnight, one of the largest efficiency gains in the history of computing.

The latest upgrade called Glamsterdam will be activated in the second half of 2026 and aims to make the blockchain itself faster and cheaper. The name blends "Gloas," the consensus-layer component, with "Amsterdam," the execution-layer component, following Ethereum's tradition of pairing a star name with a past Devconnect host city.

What is actually changingGlamsterdam makes two changes to how Ethereum handles transactions.

It changes who controls the order. Every few seconds, Ethereum bundles transactions into a "block." Right now, a small group of specialist firms decides what goes into each block and in what order, and they route those blocks to the network through middlemen. That hands a few players the power to reorder transactions in ways that cost ordinary users money.

Glamsterdam builds a fairer process into Ethereum's own rules: whoever approves a block can no longer see or rearrange what's inside it, and the contents stay hidden until the block is final. Fewer middlemen, less room to game the order. This proposal is called enshrined proposer-builder separation, or ePBS (EIP-7732).

How Glamsterdam changes transaction ordering and processing. Graphic: TheStreet / Roundtable.

And it lets Ethereum do more at once. Today the network mostly processes transactions one after another. The upgrade lets it spot transactions that don't affect each other and handle them at the same time —think of it like opening extra checkout lanes instead of forcing everyone through one. More lanes means more transactions per block without pushing fees up. This change is known as Block-Level Access Lists (EIP-7928).

Why this matters for DeFiFor anyone who trades on Ethereum, the ePBS change is the one to watch, because it targets a hidden cost baked into how the network runs today.

"Ethereum's Glamsterdam, viewed by many as Ethereum's most significant upgrade since The Merge, reworks how blocks are built so transactions can run in parallel, raising capacity without sending fees up," said Holly Atkinson, Chief Product and Technology Officer at 1inch, a decentralized trading platform.

The problem ePBS is built to fix sits in plain sight. As Atkinson explains it:

"Most validators don't build their own blocks. They outsource it to a handful of specialized builders through off-protocol, closed-source middleware (relays/MEV-Boost). Those builders see pending transactions and order them to extract value. For an ordinary user this shows up concretely as MEV on token trades, censorship/inclusion risk, and concentration risk."

MEV, short for maximal extractable value, is essentially how insiders skim value from ordinary trades, and it usually reaches users as a worse price when they trade on a decentralized exchange or run a token swap. ePBS, Atkinson said, "shifts control away from a small group of off-chain builders back to the protocol that actually custodies your ETH and tokens," and 1inch "already protects users from MEV impact by default." She called the upgrade "a credible step toward scaling L1 itself, not just via rollups, that reduces reliance on centralized block builders."

1inch is a decentralized trading platform that aggregates liquidity across more than a dozen blockchain networks, helping users find the best price for a swap while keeping custody of their own funds throughout the trade.

An upgrade a frustrated community has been demandingGlamsterdam arrives at a tense moment for the people who steward Ethereum.

For much of the past year, the Ethereum Foundation, the nonprofit that guides the network's development, has faced sustained criticism that it leaned too heavily on Layer-2 networks while letting the base layer stagnate.

Critics argued that pushing activity and fees onto rollups weakened ETH's own investment case, and that the Foundation put ideology ahead of competitiveness as rival blockchains gained ground. Prominent voices, including researcher Dankrad Feist and journalist Laura Shin, pressed versions of that complaint.

The pressure produced the most significant reorganization in the Foundation's history: a run of high-profile departures that some in the community called a brain drain, a leadership reshuffle, and a slimmed-down mandate. Even Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin publicly questioned whether many of today's Layer-2s still fit the network's model.

Ethereum's price has not reflected much of that ambition. ETH traded around $1,879 on Wednesday morning, up roughly 5% on the day but still down about 40% from a year earlier, when it changed hands near $3,140. It remains far below its all-time high of nearly $5,000, set in August 2025.

Bitmine drží 4,8 % nabídky etheru
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Bitmine Immersion Technologies is not buying Ethereum in small, cautious increments. The NYSE-listed firm, chaired by Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee, has purchased an additional 6,000 ETH for roughly $11.18 million, part of a broader accumulation week that added 27,801 ETH to its balance sheet.

That brings total holdings to 5,770,038 ETH as of July 12, 2026, a number that represents 4.8% of Ethereum’s entire circulating supply of approximately 120.7 million tokens.

The scale of what Bitmine is doing here The company has a self-declared goal it calls the “Alchemy of 5%”, targeting ownership of 5% of the total ETH supply by the end of 2026. At 4.8%, it is close enough to smell the finish line.

Bitmine’s total asset base sits at approximately $11.3 billion, which includes 206 BTC and $482 million in cash and marketable securities alongside the ETH stack. The ETH was priced at roughly $1,820 per token at the time of the latest accumulation figures.

The firm closed a $273.8 million Series A Preferred Stock offering on June 10, 2026, which funded a meaningful portion of the accumulation strategy. ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood is among the institutional backers.

Bitmine was also added to the Russell 1000 index on June 26, 2026, a milestone that forces passive index funds to buy the stock and expands the firm’s investor base significantly.

Staking turns the ETH pile into a yield engine Bitmine has fully staked 4,917,189 ETH through its proprietary MAVAN platform, earning annualized yields of approximately 2.70%.

At that rate, the staking operation generates expected annualized revenues of $242 million. The ETH holdings are not just sitting there appreciating or depreciating with market conditions — they are actively producing income.

Why Robinhood Chain matters to this thesis Tom Lee flagged the July 1, 2026 launch of Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 network built on Arbitrum, as a relevant data point for the firm’s Ethereum conviction.

The network processed over $1 billion in transaction volume using ETH shortly after launch. That matters because every transaction on an Ethereum L2 that uses ETH for fees is a small incremental demand signal for the underlying asset Bitmine has accumulated in enormous quantity.

What this means for the broader market Bitmine’s accumulation pace is large enough to have actual supply implications. Locking 4.9 million ETH in staking contracts removes those tokens from liquid circulation, which tightens the available float for trading.

The $273.8 million capital raise was designed specifically to fund further accumulation. The risks are also not small. A sustained ETH price decline compresses the dollar value of the treasury rapidly, given the size of the position. Staking yields provide a partial cushion, but they do not fully offset a meaningful drawdown in ETH price. Regulatory treatment of large-scale staking operations remains an open question in multiple jurisdictions, and any adverse ruling on whether staking rewards constitute securities income could affect the economics of the MAVAN platform.

Americká vláda přesunula ETH z majetku FTX na Coinbase Prime
ETH Ethereum FTT FTX Token
CoinGecko News 86
Original source text
The US government just moved approximately $9.29 million worth of Ethereum to Coinbase Prime, sourced from wallets tied to the FTX and Alameda Research collapse. The transfer, flagged by blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence, involved roughly 4,820 ETH and represents the latest chapter in Washington’s slow, methodical approach to offloading billions in seized crypto.

What actually moved, and what else came along for the ride The Ethereum wasn’t traveling alone. Alongside the 4,820 ETH, the government-controlled wallet also relocated around 5.489 billion SHIB tokens, 631.7 thousand POWR tokens, and 1.06 million AERGO tokens to new addresses during the same transaction window.

The assets originated from wallets seized following the spectacular implosion of FTX in late 2022, when Sam Bankman-Fried’s exchange and its sister trading firm Alameda Research collapsed, vaporizing billions in customer funds. Coinbase Prime, the institutional arm of the largest US-based crypto exchange, was selected by the US Marshals Service in 2024 to serve as the custodian for these forfeited digital assets.

A pattern of controlled deposits This wasn’t a one-off event. The July 15 transfer follows a pattern that has been building throughout 2026. In May, approximately $1.9 million in altcoins from the same FTX/Alameda seizure pool were deposited to Coinbase Prime. Smaller transactions followed in June.

No sales or further movements from the July 15 deposit have been reported as of the latest available data. Moving tokens to Coinbase Prime doesn’t automatically mean they’re being sold. The platform offers custody services alongside trading capabilities, so the government could be repositioning assets for eventual over-the-counter transactions rather than dumping them into the open market order book.

For context, the US government’s total seized crypto portfolio exceeds $20 billion. A $9.29 million Ethereum deposit represents roughly 0.046% of that total.

The FTX aftermath continues to unwind The FTX collapse remains one of the most consequential events in crypto history. When the exchange imploded in November 2022, it triggered a cascade of failures across the industry and left creditors scrambling to recover funds. Bankman-Fried was subsequently convicted and sentenced, but the recovery process for affected users has been grinding forward through bankruptcy proceedings and government asset liquidation ever since.

The May, June, and now July transfers have been relatively modest in size, and there’s no evidence of immediate large-scale selling following any of these deposits. For Ethereum specifically, the 4,820 ETH moved in this transaction represents a tiny fraction of daily trading volume, which routinely exceeds billions of dollars.

Aave V4 startuje na Avalanche mimo Ethereum
AAVE Aave AVAX Avalanche ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 92
Original source text
Aave, which operates one of the largest onchain lending markets, has launched Aave V4 on Avalanche as it looks to accelerate lending for tokenized assets and institutional finance, according to a Wednesday statement.

The move marks Aave V4’s first deployment beyond Ethereum. Avalanche is a high-performance blockchain network designed to support digital finance, including decentralized finance, real-world asset tokenization and institutional blockchain applications.

The launch aims to enable specialized credit markets backed by tokenized real-world assets and extends Aave’s long-standing presence on Avalanche, where its V3 protocol has facilitated billions of dollars in liquidity. It also serves as the blueprint for Aave V4’s multichain expansion strategy, with future deployments tailored to the strengths of individual blockchain ecosystems.

Aave said the deployment leverages Aave V4’s Hub and Spoke architecture to support future tokenized asset markets with dedicated borrowing markets, shared liquidity infrastructure, and tailored collateral and risk frameworks.

According to Aave Labs founder Stani Kulechov, Avalanche’s combination of an established Aave ecosystem and growing tokenization activity makes it the ideal first destination for expansion.

“Aave V4 was designed to enable new credit markets at internet scale. Avalanche is a natural destination for the first expansion of Aave V4 beyond Ethereum because it combines a mature Aave lending market with a rapidly growing ecosystem for tokenized assets,” Kulechov commented on the move.

“That combination creates new opportunities to deepen liquidity, improve capital efficiency, and expand access to borrowing against tokenized assets. That’s exactly why one of the first markets we plan to launch on Avalanche is a dedicated credit market for tokenized assets,” he added.

Ava Labs President John Wu said the integration advances the use of tokenized assets by giving institutions access to borrowing and liquidity infrastructure comparable to traditional financial markets.

“The next phase of tokenization is about putting assets to work, not just bringing them onchain,” Wu stated. “Aave V4 on Avalanche is an important step toward making that a reality and advancing the shift to a more efficient, onchain financial system.”

Aave said the platform is designed to support tokenized real-world assets including US Treasuries, money market funds, private credit, and corporate bonds.

The team added that one of the first planned deployments on Avalanche will be a dedicated market for tokenized assets, allowing institutions to borrow against tokenized collateral while accessing Aave’s shared liquidity network.

Japonsko zařadilo Bitcoin, Ethereum a XRP mezi finanční produkty

Japan’s House of Councillors passed an amendment to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, which officially recognizes cryptocurrencies as financial products rather than payment tools.

With this, the country is now planning to cut crypto taxes from 55% to 20% and open the door to Bitcoin ETFs.

Japan Moves Crypto Under Financial Product RulesJapan’s parliament has officially passed a landmark law amendment reclassifying cryptocurrencies as “financial assets.” Until now, cryptocurrencies have been mainly regulated under the Payment Services Act as a payment method.

Under the new law, Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and other cryptocurrencies will be classified as financial products under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA), bringing them closer to stocks and other investment assets.

The new law also clears the way for spot crypto ETFs in Japan.

Regulators are aiming to launch them on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2027 or 2028, while major firms like Nomura Holdings and SBI Holdings are already preparing crypto ETF products.

List of Changes Under the New LawThe new framework introduces several rules that already apply to traditional financial markets. These include,

Insider trading ban: Trading using non-public information will be strictly prohibited.Annual disclosures: Token issuers must publish annual operational and financial disclosures.Strict penalties: Violators face up to 10 years in prison or 10 million Japanese yen fines.Retail investment cap: High-risk tokens will have a 2 million Japanese yen retail investment limitBigger Fines and Lower Crypto TaxesThe new law also brings stricter rules for the crypto industry. However, the maximum jail term for running an illegal crypto business will increase from three years to 10 years.

And the maximum fine will also increase from 3 million yen to 10 million yen, approximately $18,500 to $61,600. The government says these changes will help make the crypto market safer and protect investors.

Along with the bill, lawmakers are planning to cut the tax on crypto profits from the current maximum of 55% to a flat 20%, the same tax rate used for stock investments.

Another planned change is a three-year loss carryforward. This means investors will be able to use their past trading losses to reduce taxes on future crypto profits. If approved, these tax changes are expected to start in 2028.

SharpLink vytěžil 499 ETH ze stakingu a drží 887 673 ETH
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
SharpLink, the Nasdaq-listed Ethereum treasury company trading under the ticker SBET, pulled in 499 ETH from staking rewards in just the past week. That brings the company’s cumulative staking haul to 23,490 ETH since it kicked off its treasury strategy, and its total Ethereum holdings now sit at 887,673 ETH.

For context, that’s the second-largest Ethereum stash held by any publicly traded company on the planet. The only outfit holding more is Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), which controls over 5.7 million ETH.

The MicroStrategy playbook, but for Ethereum SharpLink provides what it calls structured equity exposure to Ethereum. Investors buy SBET stock on Nasdaq, and that stock price is heavily tied to how much ETH the company holds per share. It’s a way to get Ethereum exposure through a traditional brokerage account without touching a wallet or an exchange.

SharpLink actively stakes its holdings. That 499 ETH earned in a single week is essentially passive income generated from helping secure the Ethereum network. The 23,490 ETH accumulated through staking alone represents a meaningful addition to the balance sheet without the company spending a single dollar.

SharpLink maintains a public ETH dashboard that breaks down its holdings, staking rewards, and per-share ETH concentration metrics. The average purchase price across its entire portfolio sits at $3,586 per ETH, according to that dashboard.

Recent buying spree signals confidence SharpLink resumed active Ethereum purchases in June 2026 after what appears to have been a pause in direct buying. On June 25, the company scooped up 5,000 ETH. Shortly after, it grabbed another 10,000 ETH at an average price of $1,611 per coin. That’s notably below its overall portfolio average of $3,586, which means those recent buys actually improved the company’s cost basis.

The purchases pushed total holdings from approximately 872,984 ETH in May 2026 to the current 887,673 ETH figure. That’s a net increase of roughly 14,700 ETH in about two months, combining both direct purchases and staking rewards.

The company funds these acquisitions partly through at-the-market equity offerings, a mechanism that lets it sell new shares gradually at prevailing market prices rather than through a single large offering. It also executes share repurchases, creating a two-way flow that management can use to manage dilution and signal confidence.

The competitive landscape for public ETH treasuries SharpLink’s position as the number-two public Ethereum holder is noteworthy because this category barely existed a couple of years ago. Bitmine Immersion Technologies, the leader in this space, holds over 5.7 million ETH. SharpLink’s nearly 888,000 ETH treasury held approximately 521,939 ETH as of August 2025. By May 2026, that had grown to roughly 872,984 ETH. Now it’s at 887,673 ETH. The company has added over 365,000 ETH to its balance sheet in less than a year.

That 499 ETH weekly staking reward represents roughly a 0.056% weekly return, or about 2.9% annualized if the rate holds steady. Those staking rewards get added to the total, which then generates more rewards the following week.

What this means for investors For anyone watching SBET as a proxy for Ethereum exposure, the key metric isn’t just total ETH held. It’s ETH per share. At-the-market offerings dilute the share count, while ETH purchases and staking rewards increase the numerator. The interplay between those two forces determines whether shareholders are actually gaining or losing ETH exposure over time.

SharpLink’s dashboard transparency is designed to address exactly this concern, giving investors real-time visibility into whether the company is creating or destroying value on a per-share basis.

The recent purchases at $1,611 suggest management sees current prices as attractive. Buying ETH at roughly 55% below the portfolio’s average cost of $3,586 also means the overall position was significantly underwater at the time of purchase.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies reported $45.7 million in revenue from Ether staking and validator operations for the most recent quarter, reflecting a major shift in the company’s business model following the introduction of its institutional-grade Ethereum staking platform in March.

Staking dominates revenue streamsFor the three months ending May 31, staking activities contributed approximately 98% of Bitmine’s total revenue, according to the company’s latest 10-Q filing. In contrast, self-mined Bitcoin operations generated $624,000, while consulting services added $168,000.

Bitmine disclosed that it has allocated 85% of its Ether holdings—about 4.9 million ETH—into staking. Chairman Tom Lee stated that this is the largest amount of ETH staked by any single entity worldwide.

Bitmine’s projected annual ETH staking reward reaches $284 million at full scale, when both the company’s and its partners’ Ether are fully staked through MAVAN and affiliated staking operations.

A year ago, Bitmine’s quarterly revenue totaled $2 million, driven mainly by equipment leasing, highlighting how the company’s focus on Ethereum staking has transformed its income structure.

Launch and expansion of MAVAN platformThe launch of MAVAN in March marked a new phase for Bitmine. MAVAN, an institutional-grade Ethereum staking service, manages validator infrastructure on behalf of Bitmine and external customers. The platform emerged after Bitmine’s acquisition of Pier Two Holdings, an Australian operator specializing in non-custodial validator services.

Originally developed to support Bitmine’s own Ethereum treasury, MAVAN has grown to serve institutional investors, custodians, and partners within the Ethereum ecosystem.

Mini dictionary: MAVAN (Made in America VAlidator Network) is a staking and validator infrastructure platform focused on institutional-grade Ethereum staking, supporting both Bitmine’s assets and third-party clients.

Robinhood Chain drives Ethereum growthBitmine’s chairman Tom Lee also pointed to the rapid success of Robinhood Chain, a new decentralized trading platform that launched on July 1. He reported that dollar trading volumes on Robinhood Chain have already surpassed $1 billion.

According to Lee, Robinhood Chain now handles more trading volume than any other decentralized exchange, underscoring both its significance and the utility of Ethereum as the underlying blockchain.

Robinhood Chain, utilizing ETH as its native gas token, has introduced millions of users to Ethereum-based transactions, with all network fees and settlement processes occurring directly on the Ethereum blockchain.

Lee emphasized that Robinhood’s 27 million users are now paying transaction fees in ETH, signaling a shift toward mainstream viewing of ETH as a form of money within the platform’s ecosystem.

Morgan Stanley chce staking v ETF na ether a solanu

Original source text

15 July 2026 | 00:18 Morgan Stanley Investment Management filed a third round of amendments with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on July 14 for proposed exchange-traded funds holding ether and solana.

The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust are designed to give investors spot exposure through ordinary brokerage accounts without requiring them to buy tokens or manage private keys. If the registration statements become effective, the shares are expected to trade on NYSE Arca under the tickers MSSE and MSOL.

The amended filings expand a crypto product line that already includes the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust, which trades on NYSE Arca with the same 0.14% annual sponsor fee, and the Stablecoin Reserves Portfolio, launched in April to hold assets that meet the GENIUS Act’s reserve requirements. Unlike the passive Bitcoin fund, the proposed Ether and Solana trusts would also generate staking rewards, combining regulated brokerage access with potential onchain income. Together, the products show Morgan Stanley building a broader digital-asset strategy spanning token exposure, stablecoin reserve management and staking rather than treating Bitcoin as a standalone offering.

What the Funds Would Hold Both products are passive trusts that would track CoinDesk’s 4PM New York settlement benchmarks for ether and solana. They would not use leverage, derivatives or active trading strategies, so returns would primarily reflect movements in the underlying tokens, less expenses, together with any net staking income.

BNY and Coinbase Custody are named as custodians, while Morgan Stanley Investment Management would serve as delegated sponsor.

Under normal market conditions, the Ethereum trust intends to stake between 50% and 80% of its ETH, while the Solana vehicle may stake up to 100% of its SOL. Both would periodically keep assets unstaked to cover redemptions, expenses and distributions. The shared 0.14% sponsor fee therefore sits alongside different return mechanics: a larger portion of MSOL’s holdings could earn network rewards, but its liquidity management becomes more important when unstaking is delayed.

Figment, Galaxy Blockchain Infrastructure and Coinbase Canada are listed as staking providers for both products. The providers and custodians would collectively receive 5% of gross staking rewards, leaving 95% for the trusts. Net rewards would initially increase net asset value before being converted into cash for distributions expected monthly, but no less frequently than quarterly.

The prospectuses do not promise a fixed yield. Returns would depend on network conditions and the proportion of assets staked, while validator failures, penalties and unstaking delays could reduce income or complicate redemptions. Morgan Stanley may also suspend staking if it creates material legal, regulatory or tax risks. Retail investors would not be able to exchange shares directly for ETH or SOL. Only authorized participants could create or redeem 10,000-share baskets, meaning the products would remain regulated brokerage wrappers rather than substitutes for holding transferable tokens.

A 0.14% Sponsor Fee Each trust carries a proposed annual sponsor fee of 0.14% of net asset value, accrued daily and paid monthly in arrears. Morgan Stanley would cover ordinary operating costs from that fee, while litigation and other extraordinary expenses could still be charged to the trust. Investors may separately incur brokerage commissions when trading shares.

The July 14 submissions are Amendment No. 3 to the registration statements, not approvals. The SEC must declare the filings effective before shares can be sold, and the documents remain subject to further changes. The trusts would also not be registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, meaning shareholders would not receive the protections attached to conventional registered investment companies.

Summary

Former members of the Ethereum Foundation's Institutional Privacy Task Force have launched EthSystems, a new for-profit startup that will build privacy infrastructure for banks and other institutions using Ethereum, commercializing work previously developed inside the foundation. The launch is the latest EF spinout following recent organizational changes, joining newly formed entities EthLabs and Ethereum Institutional as the ecosystem restructures its approach to protocol development and institutional adoption.A team of former Ethereum Foundation researchers focused on institutional privacy has launched EthSystems, a new for-profit company aimed at building confidentiality infrastructure for financial institutions using Ethereum.

The startup emerged from the Ethereum Foundation, which spent the past year developing privacy technologies for enterprise use cases while engaging with central banks, regulators, global banks and asset managers.

The spinout comes amid one of the biggest organizational shakeups in the Ethereum Foundation in years. Following months of criticism over leadership, strategy and the foundation's role in supporting Ethereum's increasingly institutional user base, several teams have recently been spun out into independent organizations.

Among them are EthLabs, a nonprofit focused on advancing Ethereum protocol research and scaling, and Ethereum Institutional, a separate nonprofit designed to coordinate institutional adoption and engagement with large financial firms. Together, the organizations represent an effort to distribute responsibilities previously housed within the foundation across more specialized entities.

EthSystems said it plans to commercialize work it began inside the foundation, including confidential stablecoin transfers, private bond issuance, cross-chain settlement systems and open-source protocol specifications.

"Commercial engagements need a commercial counterparty," the company said in a post on X, explaining its decision to operate as a for-profit business. "The model is simple: we continue the work we've been doing, only now we charge for it."

The launch reflects growing institutional interest in using public blockchains for financial infrastructure beyond cryptocurrency investing. While firms have increasingly embraced tokenized assets and stablecoins, many remain reluctant to transact on fully transparent public ledgers, creating demand for privacy-preserving infrastructure.

EthSystems argues that confidentiality is one of the key barriers preventing banks and asset managers from moving real-world financial flows onto Ethereum. The company said its approach will focus on modular privacy systems that allow participants to selectively disclose transaction information while maintaining Ethereum's security guarantees.

The company is also backed by BitMine, SharpLink, Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, SNZ and other Ethereum-focused investors.

BNB Chain slaví 9 let a cílí na 100 tisíc TPS
BNB BNB ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
BNB marked its ninth anniversary since launching on July 14, 2017, evolving from an Ethereum-based utility token into a key asset driving one of the crypto industry’s largest blockchain networks.

Progression from utility token to core network assetWhen BNB debuted in 2017, it entered the market as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, priced at $0.15 with a total supply of 200 million. It initially functioned primarily to reduce trading fees and facilitate activities on the then-emerging Binance exchange, now one of the world’s largest digital asset platforms.

In 2019, BNB transitioned to its own proprietary blockchain, becoming a native asset. This migration allowed BNB to serve as the backbone for its own network infrastructure and opened the door for new on-chain use cases beyond its original exchange utility.

BNB Chain acknowledged that BNB entered the industry as a utility token for a new exchange, and has since become central to one of the most active decentralized ecosystems in crypto after nine years of development.

With the launch of Binance Smart Chain in 2020, the network gained compatibility with Ethereum-based smart contracts, allowing developers to build decentralized applications while using BNB for transaction fees and network operations. This move positioned the chain as an emerging hub for decentralized finance (DeFi) and gaming projects.

DeFi expansion and technology upgradesBNB Chain gained significant traction during the 2021 DeFi boom, with its on-chain activity pushing BNB’s price to $690 at its peak. The surge in applications and trading volume established the network as one of the more active blockchains alongside giants like Ethereum.

A major rebranding came in 2022 when Binance Smart Chain became BNB Chain, with BNB reimagined as “Build N Build.” This shift emphasized the chain’s focus on supporting developers and network expansion.

In 2023, the ecosystem incorporated the opBNB scaling solution, designed to increase transaction throughput, and BNB Greenfield, which delivered decentralized storage capabilities. These upgrades reflected the network’s strategy to expand beyond simple financial transactions.

Mini dictionary: opBNB, a Layer 2 scaling solution for BNB Chain, is designed to handle more transactions per second and lower network fees by processing transactions off-chain before settling them on the main BNB blockchain.

Token burns, block speed, and 2026 roadmapEfforts to streamline BNB Chain continued with the 2024 Beacon Chain fusion, which unified staking and governance functions under one chain for improved user and developer experience.

By 2025, BNB Chain had reduced block times to 0.75 seconds through upgrades named Pascal, Lorentz, and Maxwell. That year also saw BNB reach a new all-time high of $1,370, and the network logged a new record for decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volumes.

YearBlock TimeBNB Price HighTotal BNB Burned20240.75 secondsNot specifiedNot specified20250.75 seconds$1,370Not specified20260.45 secondsNot specified65 millionCumulatively, more than 65 million BNB tokens have been burned out of the original 200 million. The burn mechanism aims to reduce the total supply to 100 million, a process intended to increase scarcity and potentially add value to the remaining tokens.

Currently, BNB Chain processes blocks in 450 milliseconds and achieves a final settlement time of 650 milliseconds—double the efficiency compared to early 2026 figures. The 2026 second-half roadmap outlines plans to double mainnet throughput and introduce a Layer 1 solution capable of processing more than 100,000 transactions per second (TPS).

The updated roadmap sets out to improve speed and throughput, targeting a Layer 1 network with over 100,000 TPS and even faster finality for transaction settlement.

Binance v červnu přidal 7 715 BTC
BBTC Binance Wrapped Bitcoin ETH Ethereum USDT Tether
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Binance has released its 44th proof-of-reserves report, showing that customer Bitcoin holdings increased during June while Ethereum and Tether balances declined.

Summary

Binance users raised Bitcoin holdings 1.22%, adding 7,715 BTC during June, the latest snapshot showed. Ethereum and Tether balances declined, while Binance continued publishing monthly reserve data for customer verification. Reserve snapshots show account balances, but they cannot explain whether users bought, sold, or withdrew. The report used a snapshot taken on July 1 and compared the figures with customer balances recorded on June 1.

Customer Bitcoin holdings rose 1.22% to about 640,000 BTC, an increase of 7,715 BTC. Ethereum holdings fell 1.41% to around 4.08 million ETH, a decline of 58,591 ETH. Customer Tether holdings dropped 1.51% to about 33.7 billion USDT, falling by roughly 510 million USDT.

Binance customer Bitcoin holdings continue rising The July figures extend the rise in customer Bitcoin balances reported one month earlier. Binance users added 25,838 BTC in May, lifting their total holdings by 4.26% to about 630,000 BTC in the exchange’s 43rd proof-of-reserves report.

The latest increase was smaller than the previous month’s gain, but it kept customer BTC balances moving higher. The report does not show whether the change came from purchases, deposits, transfers between Binance services, or movements from other assets. It records balances at one point in time rather than individual customer activity.

Ethereum and USDT balances decline Ethereum moved in the opposite direction after recording a strong increase in the previous report. Customer ETH holdings had risen 10.17% in May to about 4.14 million ETH. The July snapshot showed that the total fell by 58,591 ETH during June.

USDT balances also declined for a second monthly report. Binance users held about 34.3 billion USDT in the June 1 snapshot after balances fell by roughly 460 million tokens in May. The latest decrease brought the total to about 33.7 billion USDT. Lower stablecoin balances do not confirm that users converted USDT into Bitcoin or withdrew funds.

A similar pattern recently appeared at other major exchanges. As reported by crypto.news, Bybit and OKX recorded higher customer Bitcoin holdings while USDT balances fell in their latest reserve snapshots. However, the reports did not identify the reasons behind the balance changes.

Binance says customer assets remain backed Binance states on its proof-of-reserves page that it holds customer assets on a 1:1 basis, along with additional reserves. The exchange uses Merkle Trees and zero-knowledge proofs to let customers check whether their account balances were included in the total liabilities covered by each report.

A proof-of-reserves report can show whether listed wallets hold assets linked to customer balances at the time of a snapshot. However, it does not provide a complete financial audit or explain every off-chain liability. A recent proof-of-reserves explainer noted that useful disclosures should remain recent, frequent and matched against customer liabilities.

The figures should therefore be read as a record of asset backing and customer balances on a specific date. They do not show the exchange’s complete financial position or the reasons customers moved assets between accounts, platforms or private wallets.

Report follows braoder changes at Binance The latest reserve report arrived after a month of active derivatives trading. Binance recorded about $1.63 trillion in futures trading volume during June, its highest monthly total of 2026, according to CryptoQuant data.

Binance also introduced service changes for some European users when the European Union’s MiCA transition ended on July 1. As previously reported, the exchange said affected users could continue using options already communicated to them, including withdrawals where available. The date matched the snapshot used for the latest reserve report.

Earlier reserve rankings placed Binance ahead of other major exchanges. As reported by crypto.news, CoinMarketCap data ranked the platform first in January 2026 with about $155.6 billion in proof-of-reserve assets. The July report adds a new monthly view of customer balances, with BTC rising while ETH and USDT moved lower.

Robinhood Chain na ETH posiluje navzdory nízkým poplatkům
ETH Ethereum UOS Ultra
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
The launch of Robinhood Chain on an Ethereum layer-2 network is bullish for long-term value and network effects, argue analysts.

Robinhood Chain has generated $816,000 in gross revenue since launching on July 1, with 89% captured by Robinhood, 10% by Arbitrum as middleware, and only 0.15%, or $1,538, paid to Ethereum for settlement, which doesn’t sound great.

Robinhood Chain is an EVM-compatible Arbitrum-based layer-2 network that uses ETH as its native gas token, but Ethereum is not seeing any revenue benefits yet.

Bullish or Bearish for Ethereum? Lorenzo Valente, director of research at Ark Invest, said, “If your thesis is ‘ETH is money,’ Robinhood building here is ultra bullish.” “More activity, more ETH collateral, more lindyness,” he added.

However, for those who believe ETH is a revenue-generating asset, “this is the ultra-bear case.” He added that Robinhood was never going to build on Solana, Sui, or any “monolithic layer-1” because it wants stack customization.

“They want to be landlords, not renters. Ethereum won this deal on merit. It’s just not pricing it right … Ethereum sells the most valuable settlement layer in crypto at marginal cost.”

Valente said that a healthier split would be 75% to Robinhood, 10% to Arbitrum, and 15% to Ethereum.

The Robinhood Chain is the cleanest case study of what happened to ETH’s economics over time.

Since inception, @RobinhoodApp Chain has grossed ~$816K in revenue.@Arbitrum, the middleware provider, takes 10%: ~$80K.

— Lorenzo Valente (@LorenzoARK) July 13, 2026

Responding to the post, Consensys founder Joe Lubin said Ethereum layer-1 revenue fees should stay low to foster growth.

“Monetary premium will grow very large, fee revenue to L1 from so much activity,” he added before concluding that staking and other locking away of ETH will reduce supply, and “net burning of ETH under ultrasound conditions will further grow the value of ETH.”

Since its launch a fortnight ago, 82,895 ETH worth around $147.5 million has been bridged to Robinhood Chain, according to Defillama. Analysts say this has become another demand sink, along with staking, which has 33% of the supply locked, treasury companies, and ETFs.

No Love For ETH Prices Despite this bullish narrative, Ether prices remain at multi-year bear market lows with low volume and negative sentiment. ETH is trading flat on the day at around $1,780 following a dip to $1,750 during early Tuesday trading in Asia.

It has moved off its cycle low of just over $1,500 in late June, but has hit resistance at $1,800 six times over the past ten days. This remains the barrier to break for ETH to continue its slow climb higher.

The major catalysts for Ether are macro and likely to be inflation coming down and lower chances of a Fed rate hike.

Chainlink dosáhl rekordního počtu peněženek při slabé ceně
ETH Ethereum LINK Chainlink
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
@chainlink has crossed 900,000 non-empty $LINK wallets on Ethereum, an all-time high, with roughly 20,000 new addresses added in the past month alone. The milestone lands while the token trades near local lows in the $7.80 range, a gap that on-chain analytics firm @SantimentData describes as quiet accumulation: holders building exposure while the price stays flat and broader market attention sits elsewhere.

Wallets Rising, Price Not Following The divergence is not new to Chainlink watchers. Santiment data shows $LINK added more than 8,000 non-empty wallets in just five days earlier this month, pushing the total holder count toward 900,000. That kind of wallet growth at a price near local lows typically signals accumulation rather than speculation. The broader trend also extends to larger holders. The number of Chainlink wallets holding at least 100,000 $LINK climbed to a fresh all-time high earlier in 2026, with 805 such addresses on record. Over a seven-week stretch, that cohort expanded by 8.2%, marking the fastest pace of accumulation since the metric was tracked.

Santiment classifies these as whale-tier addresses, typically associated with institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and long-term strategic holders. The growth in this bracket does not come from short-term speculation. A wallet holding nearly $1 million in a single altcoin is likely structured around a multi-month or multi-year thesis.

Adoption Running Ahead of the Chart The on-chain activity sits against a backdrop of expanding real-world integrations. Robinhood activated its Ethereum-based layer 2 blockchain mainnet on July 1, 2026, and selected Chainlink to provide data feeds, data streams, and its cross-chain interoperability protocol from the initial block, powering tokenized stock tokens and on-chain products for millions of users. The DTCC also selected Chainlink's technology in May 2026 to power a new collateral system targeted for the fourth quarter, while more than fifty banks across sixteen countries joined Chainlink's Project Pangea in June 2026 to build faster foreign exchange settlement.

Chainlink has had one of its biggest institutional stretches of the year, and the price has barely noticed. The broader pattern is clear: $LINK has fallen around 20% over the past three months despite positive ecosystem announcements, showing that the market has been discounting good news and focusing more on macro and technical pressure than on long-term adoption headlines. Whether the steady build in holder counts eventually translates into price momentum remains the central question for Chainlink in the months ahead.

K3 Capital a Abraxas Capital stahují ETH z burz
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Two institutional entities pulled a combined 16,948 $ETH, worth roughly $30.27 million, from centralized exchanges in a single one-hour window on July 13, raising fresh questions about whether sophisticated players are quietly building positions in Ethereum.

The Withdrawals K3 Capital moved 10,000 $ETH (approximately $17.85 million) off @Binance, while Abraxas Capital withdrew 6,948 $ETH (approximately $12.42 million) split across @Binance and @Bitfinex. The tight timeframe of both transactions has drawn attention from on-chain observers, who note that the coordination suggests a deliberate rather than coincidental strategy.

The move is consistent with a pattern that analysts have flagged across the broader market. Large withdrawals from centralized exchanges are often interpreted as a signal of accumulation, typically suggesting that the holder intends to store assets for the long term rather than trade them in the near future. Abraxas Capital has form here too: the firm previously withdrew 33,035 $ETH worth $60 million from Binance and Kraken in a single move, flagged by on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain.

The Bigger Picture The dual withdrawal lands against a backdrop of shifting institutional sentiment toward $ETH. According to CryptoQuant and Glassnode, exchange reserves have trended downward into Q2 2026 as long-term holders and institutions accumulate supply. Staking participation continues to draw liquid supply from the market, and some analysts believe a continuing structural supply shortage could arise from sustained ETF inflows, given that over 30% of circulating $ETH is already staked.

On the ETF side, sentiment has shown early signs of stabilisation. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $14.8 million in net inflows on July 1, ending nine consecutive trading days of withdrawals. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led that rebound with $36.6 million in inflows.

The net outflow of $30.27 million from K3 Capital and Abraxas Capital alone points toward a shift to self-custody or professional staking protocols, though neither firm has publicly confirmed its intentions. Exchange withdrawals of this size often indicate long-term positioning rather than short-term speculation. Whether the move signals the start of a broader institutional accumulation wave or remains an isolated event is something on-chain analysts will be watching closely in the days ahead.

Ethereum Foundation našla chybu validátoru pomocí AI

The Foundation's security team used coordinated AI agents to uncover a remotely triggerable crash, then spent most of its effort weeding out convincing false positives.

Posted July 13, 2026 at 6:19 am EST.

The Ethereum Foundation pointed a fleet of coordinated AI agents at the software that runs the network and came away with a genuine security flaw: a remotely triggerable crash that could take a validator offline until an operator restarts it. The bug was fixed and disclosed as CVE-2026-34219.

In field notes published July 9, the Foundation’s Protocol Security team, writing through researcher Nikos Baxevanis, walked through how it ran the agents and vetted their output.

This story is an excerpt from the Unchained Daily newsletter.

Subscribe here to get these updates in your email for free

The more striking finding was about the work itself. Baxevanis wrote that little effort went into finding bugs and most went into separating the real ones from findings that only looked real. Unlike a fuzzer, which returns a crash and a stack trace, an AI agent returns a persuasive narrative, complete with a call chain, a severity rating, and working code, and it reads the same whether the bug is genuine or invented.

That gap has practical stakes as AI reshapes the security threat model. The team catalogued recurring false positives: crashes that only occur in test builds, attacks that work only if a value is planted by hand, and formal proofs that pass without proving anything useful. Agents also struggle with exploits that unfold across a sequence of individually valid steps, the pattern behind several of this year’s costly DeFi attacks, so the Foundation now uses agents to suggest which sequences to test rather than to render a verdict.

The experiment fits a broader shift at the Foundation, which has said it will lean more on AI-assisted verification after deep staff cuts. Its conclusion echoes work by Anthropic and Cloudflare on agent-driven security research: the models can cover far more ground than humans alone, but a person still has to decide what counts as a real bug and what gets disclosed.

Bitmine koupila ETH, akcie BMNR klesly

CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Ethereum treasury firm Bitmine has purchased more ETH over the past week, pushing its holdings above 5.77 million ETH. The BMNR stock has fallen amid the announcement of this latest purchase, while Tom Lee cited the Robinhood Chain as a new bullish catalyst for Ethereum.

Bitmine Acquires 27,801 ETH as Holdings Climb Above 5.77 Million ETH In a press release, the Ethereum treasury firm announced that it acquired 27,801 ETH over the past week. The company’s Chairman, Tom Lee, reiterated that they expect to reach their goal of holdig 5% of the total ETH supply sometime this year.

Bitmine notably holds 5,770,038 ETH, which represets 4.8% of the total ETH supply of 120.7 million. The firm has also staked 4,917,189 out of its holdings, with its annualized staking revenues now projected at $242 million.

It is worth noting that the Ethereum treasury firm has maintained weekly ETH purchases since the start of the year. As CoinGape reported last week, Bitmine purchased 42,197 ETH between June 29 and July 3, around the time the Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy sold over $200 million worth of Bitcoin.

The Ethereum treasury firm continues to double down on its ETH accumulation despite sitting on an unrealized loss of around $9.2 billion, according to DropsTab data. The company has an average purchase price of $3,374 o its Ethereum holdings.

Robinhood Chain As A Catalyst For ETH Tom Lee highlighted the successful launch of the Robinhood Chain as a bullish catalyst for Ethereum. “Robinhood Chain uses ETH as the native gas token. And transaction fees are denominated in ETH, and the finality is settled on Ethereum. Robinhood’s 27 million users are paying crypto fees denominated in ETH. In other words, everyday users are starting to see ETH as money,” he said.

The Bitmine Chairman also noted that the Robinhood Chain’s dollar volume has exceeded $1 billion and that it has more trading volume than any other decentralized exchange (DEX), which he said demonstrates its outstanding utility and product-market fit for Ethereum. CoinGape recently reported that the Robinhood Chain hit 7.6 million daily transactions as it closed o the Base network.

Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that the BMNR stock is down amid Bitmine’s announcement of its latest Ethereum purchase. The stock is currently trading at around $14.72, down almost 2%, according to TradingView data.

Uniswap vybral na poplatcích 5,2 milionu USD, většinu z Robinhood Chain
ETH Ethereum UNI Uniswap
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
TLDR: Uniswap daily fees reached about $5.2 million in 24 hours, placing the decentralized exchange near the top of current crypto fee rankings. Robinhood Chain supplied roughly $4.38 million of the total, far exceeding Ethereum and Base during the same measured period. Only about $73,454 counted as 24-hour protocol earnings, as most swap fees still flowed to liquidity providers rather than UNI holders. Governance proposals could extend protocol fees and the UNI token burn system to v4 pools and Robinhood Chain after community approval. Uniswap daily fees reached about $5.2 million in 24 hours, placing the DEX near the top of crypto fee rankings. Founder Hayden Adams highlighted the figure on X, saying only USDC and USDT generated more fees. DefiLlama recorded $5.16 million during the same period, supporting his estimate.

Robinhood Chain supplied most of that total after launching on July 1. The sharp increase shows how quickly new networks can redirect trading activity. UNI traded near $3.62, up about 35% from its early-July low near $2.70. Yet the token still sits roughly 92% below its 2021 peak.

Uniswap Daily Fees Surge as Robinhood Chain Takes Lead Robinhood Chain contributed about $4.38 million of the reported Uniswap daily fees. Ethereum produced roughly $296,000, while Base added about $288,000. That distribution marks a sudden shift from Uniswap’s traditional Ethereum-led activity.

The Arbitrum Orbit network launched with Uniswap v2, v3, v4, and UniswapX available from day one. Cumulative swap volume crossed $1 billion by July 10, according to a Uniswap governance post. The chain also recorded a 24-hour Uniswap volume peak near $500 million during its first week.

Across seven days, Robinhood Chain generated $10.98 million of Uniswap’s $20.1 million in total fees. That share made the new network Uniswap’s largest short-term fee source. It also placed Robinhood Chain above Ethereum and Base during the measured period. The fee spike shows how concentrated short-term trading activity can become.

Uniswap daily fees reflect charges paid through swaps, but they do not equal protocol income. DefiLlama listed only $73,454 in 24-hour earnings for Uniswap. Most trading fees still flow to liquidity providers instead of the treasury or UNI holders.

The distinction matters when comparing Uniswap with stablecoin issuers or centralized exchanges. Annualizing one strong day would imply almost $1.9 billion in fees. Still, that calculation does not show how much value the protocol retains.

UNI Burn Vote Tests the Value of Rising Protocol Activity Uniswap governance is now considering a wider protocol fee rollout. One proposal would activate fees across v4 pools on several supported networks. Another would extend fee collection and UNI burns to Robinhood Chain.

The Robinhood Chain temperature check runs from July 10 through July 15. It covers v2, v3, and v4 deployments on the network. On-chain votes would follow if the Snapshot proposals pass.

Under the UNIfication system, collected protocol fees move into TokenJar contracts. Searchers can claim those assets after supplying UNI of equivalent value for burning. The process permanently removes the submitted UNI from circulation.

Higher Uniswap daily fees could expand the amount available for this mechanism. Yet liquidity providers may receive slightly lower returns when protocol fees activate. That trade-off could influence where they place capital across competing pools.

Uniswap v4 adds programmable hooks that let developers customize pool logic. These tools support dynamic fees, specialized liquidity rules, and other trading features. Wider v4 adoption could increase activity across more chains.

https://readi.fi/news/blackrock-expands-tokenized-buidl-fund-across-new-blockchains/

BlackRock’s BUIDL, a tokenized U.S. Treasury money market fund on the Avalanche blockchain, has reached over $900 million in assets under management (AUM). This notable increase, from approximately $464 million just a week ago, highlights a significant surge in institutional interest in tokenized assets on Avalanche. The BUIDL fund, maintaining a stable value of $1.00 per token with daily accrued dividends, has become the largest tokenized treasury product on-chain and the biggest real-world asset (RWA) on Avalanche. This development underscores Avalanche’s rising prominence as a key player in the institutional tokenization sector, second only to Ethereum in terms of BUIDL’s AUM.

Key Takeaways BlackRock’s BUIDL fund on Avalanche has seen its AUM increase from $464 million to over $900 million within a week. The rapid growth in BUIDL’s AUM suggests accelerating institutional adoption of Avalanche for tokenized assets. Avalanche is now the second-largest blockchain for BUIDL by AUM, reinforcing its role as a leading institutional tokenization venue. What to Watch The surge in BUIDL’s AUM could indicate broader institutional adoption of blockchain-based financial products, potentially influencing Ethereum price predictions. Market participants may monitor whether this trend continues and if other blockchains follow suit in attracting large institutional investments. Observers will also be keen to see if BlackRock’s growing involvement in tokenized assets impacts Ethereum-related markets and if similar trends develop within the Ethereum ecosystem.

Ether roste díky tokenizaci, zůstává pod 1800 USD

Summarize this article with:

The cryptocurrency market has experienced mixed developments in recent days, but Ether stood out with a 3% increase between Thursday and Friday. This rise occurs in a context marked by the growth of tokenization, the successful launch of Robinhood Chain, and continued purchases by several companies. Despite this favorable dynamic, surpassing the 1,800-dollar threshold remains out of reach. On-chain data and indicators from derivative markets still show signs of weakness, limiting short-term growth potential.

In brief Ether advanced 3% in one week, supported by the rise of Tokenization and institutional purchases. Robinhood Chain has already attracted 106 million dollars in deposits and strengthens the Ethereum ecosystem. Ethereum retains 47% of the real-world assets (RWA) market, confirming its lead in tokenization. On-chain indicators and derivative markets remain weak, hindering a sustained breakthrough above 1,800 dollars. BitMine has accumulated 198,370 ETH in 30 days, illustrating continued purchases by institutional investors. Ether Rallies as Tokenization and Robinhood Chain Drive Fresh Optimism The recent rise of Ether is first based on the rapid development of initiatives related to asset tokenization. Robinhood notably launched Robinhood Chain, a layer 2 solution using ETH as the native gas token. This new infrastructure quickly strengthened user interest in the Ethereum ecosystem. At the same time, the platform is expanding its offer of tokenized stocks to an international clientele, consolidating the adoption of EVM-compatible infrastructures.

Here are the main figures illustrating this dynamic:

106 million dollars in deposits already recorded on Robinhood Chain. 120 countries now have access to the tokenized stocks offered by Robinhood. 47% market share for Ethereum in the real-world assets (RWA) sector. 260 billion dollars of total value locked (TVL) on Ethereum. 210 billion dollars capitalization for Ether, a level below the network’s TVL. Tokenization thus continues to strengthen Ethereum’s dominant position in the real-world asset market. Apart from stablecoins, assets like Tether Gold (XAUT), Ondo US Dollar Yield (USDY), and Franklin Templeton iBENJI government bonds illustrate this evolution. Tokenized stocks STRCx from Strategy and CRCLon from Ondo also rank among the main sector references.

This dynamic feeds specialist analyses. Leon Waidmann, research director at Lisk, believes the gap between the network’s total value locked and Ether’s capitalization reflects a relatively lower valuation than observed during the 2022 bear market. This interpretation fuels debate on the asset’s current positioning without changing the network fundamentals.

On-Chain Indicators Continue to Limit the Recovery Despite this improvement in Ether’s price, several indicators show network activity remains less dynamic than before. Layer 2 solutions continue their development, and institutional investments hold steady, but overall demand on the blockchain remains limited. The 2026 bear market reduced activity across several segments, while some competing blockchains strengthened their presence in synthetic perpetual futures and automated yield vaults.

The main on-chain data illustrating this slowdown of activity on Ethereum are as follows:

11 million dollars in weekly revenue generated by DApps, compared to 20 million dollars in Q1 2026. Sky: 3.1 million dollars in weekly revenue. Titan Builder: 2.4 million dollars in weekly revenue. Chainlink: 1.1 million dollars in weekly revenue. Active addresses dropped from 5.4 million to 3.2 million, confirming the decline in on-chain activity. Weekly revenues of Ethereum DApps, in USD (left) vs active addresses (right). Source: DefiLlama
This evolution limits Ether’s ability to immediately extend its rebound. Even if tokenization fundamentals remain solid, network usage metrics do not grow at the same pace. Investors therefore continue to monitor these indicators to determine if the recent price rise can be accompanied by a sustained recovery of activity on Ethereum.

Institutional Purchases Provide Fresh Support to the Market Derivative markets also provide a more measured signal. According to Laevitas data, the annualized funding rate of Ether perpetual futures contracts fell back to 3% on Saturday, after reaching 12% the previous day. This level remains below the neutral threshold set at 6%, indicating weaker demand for long positions. This development suggests that operators remain cautious despite the recent price rise.

Annualized funding rate of ETH perpetual futures contracts. Source: Laevitas
At the same time, institutional flows continue to support the market. Arkham Intelligence identified a withdrawal of 20,500 ETH, representing about 36 million dollars, from Galaxy Digital to a new wallet. This movement corresponds to a pattern previously observed during purchases attributed to Tom Lee via BitMine Immersion. Over the last thirty days, BitMine has accumulated 198,370 ETH, bringing the total value of its reserves to 10.3 billion dollars.

These acquisitions offer additional market support, although they are not enough to erase the more cautious signals seen on technical and on-chain indicators. Tokenization continues to expand use cases for the network, while institutional investments maintain steady demand. However, actual blockchain activity remains below the levels observed at the beginning of the year.

Future movements will therefore depend on the balance between these factors. If tokenization continues its development and institutional purchases hold steady, Ether could maintain a solid base. Conversely, a sustained recovery will also require improvement in on-chain indicators and derivative markets to confirm a return of broader demand across the ecosystem.

AI odhalila zranitelnost v Gossipsubu Ethereum
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
The Ethereum Foundation said it used AI agents to uncover a real vulnerability, which could be the new way of improving blockchain security.

The organization behind the second-largest blockchain network revealed it had employed a coordinated army of AI agents to identify vulnerabilities in Ethereum’s critical infrastructure.

The team said one major bug was successfully discovered and patched before it could become a larger problem. But that could be just the start of this major story.

AI and Ethereum The blog post published by the Ethereum Foundation reveals that the Protocol Security team disclosed that AI-powered agents found a remotely triggerable vulnerability in libp2p’s Gossipsub networking layer. This is a core component used by the blockchain’s consensus clients to communicate with each other.

The AI agents were deployed against the protocol code, cryptographic software, and smart contracts that underpin the network. The most significant issue the team faced was not finding the bug itself, but filtering genuine issues from the overwhelming number of false positives generated by the agents.

The team published its findings only after fixing the issue, but researchers said the bigger breakthrough lies in the process of finding it rather than the bug itself. AI has become highly effective at identifying potential weaknesses, but without a human touch, the process is still far from being good enough for such major tasks.

The Foundation compared AI agents to modern fuzzing tools. They won’t replace human auditors, but can dramatically expand the search process by generating proof-of-concept exploits, tracing attack paths, and testing assumptions at a scale that would be challenging to achieve manually.

Is This the Future? The cryptocurrency community has wondered for a few years how and why the cryptocurrency industry can be linked to artificial intelligence. The EF said that one of the most important connections between the two is now through AI-assisted auditing, which can fundamentally change how blockchain security operates.

This could be the opposite of numerous examples in which bad actors employed such agents to hack different blockchains.

Nevertheless, the Foundation cautioned that today’s systems remain far from autonomous as they still generate reports that are duplicates, contain false alarms, or describe attack paths that cannot actually be exploited. The team doubled down that every serious finding still requires careful human review before developers can act on it.

Tom Lee vidí Ethereum jako most financí a krypta
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Tom Lee has reaffirmed that Ethereum will play the central role as traditional finance and cryptocurrency converge into a single market.

Summary

Tom Lee says traditional finance and crypto will eventually merge into one market, with Ethereum at the center. His comments come as Bitmine’s Ethereum treasury has grown to 5.74 million ETH, equal to 4.8% of the total supply. Lee also links Ethereum’s outlook to the CLARITY Act and expanding layer-2 payment activity involving Visa and Shopify. According to a post published by Bitmine chairman Tom Lee on X, he believes the line separating traditional financial markets and digital assets will eventually disappear, with Ethereum positioned at the center of that transition.

— Thomas (Tom) Lee (not drummer) FundstratDirect.com (@fundstrat) July 10, 2026 Lee shared the view while responding to a post from Fundstrat Capital head of distribution Carrie Presley, who recalled telling him during an interview nearly six years ago that she was highly optimistic about Ethereum and blockchain technology. Lee acknowledged the exchange and reiterated that he remains bullish on Ethereum.

His latest comments arrive as Bitmine continues expanding one of the largest corporate Ethereum treasuries in the market. The company said last week that it held 5,742,237 ETH, equal to about 4.8% of Ethereum’s circulating supply of roughly 120.7 million ETH. Bitmine added that its combined crypto holdings, cash, marketable securities, and other investments were valued at about $11.1 billion.

Bitmine continues expanding its Ethereum treasury Recent disclosures show Bitmine has steadily increased its Ethereum holdings throughout the year. Crypto.news previously reported that the company added another 27,084 ETH in its latest weekly purchase, pushing its treasury above 5.7 million ETH before the newest holdings update confirmed the total at more than 5.74 million ETH.

Beyond Ethereum, Bitmine reported holding 206 Bitcoin alongside $527 million in cash and marketable securities. The company also disclosed equity investments in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings as part of its balance sheet.

Lee has repeatedly linked Ethereum’s long-term outlook to changing U.S. crypto regulation. In earlier comments released by Bitmine, he said investors had become more optimistic about the chances of the CLARITY Act advancing through Congress, arguing that clearer rules could support smart contract platforms as digital assets become more integrated into payment systems and financial services.

Ethereum adoption continues to expand into financial services While discussing Ethereum’s role in financial infrastructure, Lee pointed to existing commercial activity already taking place on Ethereum layer-2 networks. According to his earlier remarks, companies including Shopify and Visa already process USDC-related activity through Ethereum scaling networks, demonstrating practical use beyond speculation.

Presley’s recent reminder of their conversation from nearly six years ago also highlighted how long Lee has maintained his positive view on Ethereum. Responding publicly on X, Lee confirmed that his conviction has remained unchanged, adding that he still expects Ethereum to become the foundation connecting traditional finance with the crypto economy as both markets continue moving closer together.

At press time, Ethereum (ETH) was trading at around $1,800, little changed over the past 24 hours and up 2.2% over the previous seven days.

Spotřeba Ethereum po The Merge klesla o 99,9 %
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Table of contents

The sheer scale of Ethereum’s energy reduction after The Merge is no longer just a community talking point — it now has the weight of a Cambridge audit behind it. The latest figures from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) put annual electricity use at just 7.87 GWh, a decline of more than 99.9%. Emissions have followed a similarly dramatic path downward, settling around 2.37 ktCO₂e annually. For a network that once drew comparisons to medium-sized countries, the numbers represent a complete re‑write of the environmental script.

But the report, built from an infrastructure audit of roughly 8,522 nodes, doesn’t stop at the headline drop. It surfaces a structural reality that market participants and regulators will need to weigh carefully: how the network’s remaining footprint is distributed and who ultimately controls the hardware.

The numbers that reset the conversation Before The Merge, Ethereum’s proof‑of‑work consensus consumed power at a level that made institutional ESG committees uncomfortable. The 99.9% cut changes the calculus for any fund or corporate treasury that had dismissed ether exposure on environmental grounds. The CCAF’s estimate of 56.4% sustainable electricity sourcing further strengthens a story that is increasingly about grid mix rather than the consensus mechanism itself. That subtlety matters because it shifts the burden of scrutiny from the protocol to the geographies where validators operate.

The emissions figure — roughly 2.37 kilotonnes of CO₂‑equivalent — is so low that it practically invites comparisons to small‑scale data centre operations rather than global financial infrastructure. And yet, Ethereum’s developer activity remains among the highest in the industry, as recent ecosystem metrics continue to show. That gap between environmental cost and economic output is precisely the kind of metric that draws serious institutional capital over time.

Provider concentration and geographic clustering The audit’s infrastructure mapping is where the comfort zone narrows. The United States, Germany, Finland, and France host approximately 62% of Ethereum full nodes. Even more concentrated is the service provider layer: Hetzner, Amazon Web Services, and OVH together run roughly 40% of all nodes the researchers examined. For a network that prizes decentralisation as a security property, that level of physical co‑location on a small set of commercial cloud operators raises non‑trivial tail‑risk questions.

A coordinated outage or a regulatory intervention at one of those providers could temporarily reshape network participation. The Dencun upgrade cycle has already sharpened the focus on client diversity; node hosting geography now joins that conversation. The CCAF data makes it explicit that the environmental victory is partly built on layers that are not themselves permissionless.

What the shift means for institutional positioning ESG dynamics in crypto have often been reduced to a binary: Bitcoin’s energy hunger versus everything else. The Cambridge study gives asset allocators a concrete figure to slot into sustainability reports. It also arrives at a moment when on‑chain real‑world asset volumes are swelling beyond $20 billion, a trend documented in a recent tokenisation roundup. Most of that activity lives on Ethereum or its layer‑2 networks, meaning the updated energy footprint directly undercuts a longstanding objection to deploying regulated instruments on public rails.

Policymakers in Washington have been wrestling with crypto market structure legislation, and banking interests are pushing against a landmark Senate bill that could reshape the regulatory perimeter. In that context, verifiable environmental data is not decorative — it is ammunition. A network that can demonstrate a 99.9% energy reduction with audited, third‑party data is harder to dismiss on the basis of vague climate concerns.

What remains uncertain The CCAF report rightly emphasises that the remaining footprint is now a function of local grid carbon intensity. That implies energy‑mix volatility: a shift in the sourcing profile of a single large cloud region could measurably change Ethereum’s overall environmental scorecard. The research does not, however, model how liquid staking protocols or restaking layers might redistribute the validator set across providers and jurisdictions over the next 12 months. The interaction between infrastructure concentration and the rapid evolution of the staking industry is still poorly mapped.

Nor does the report address the energy footprint of layer‑2 rollups posting blobs to mainnet, an increasingly relevant variable as activity migrates off the base layer. For now, the headline is clear: Ethereum’s energy era has ended. The harder conversation about who runs the nodes and where they plug in is just beginning.

Studie: Síť Ethereum je silně soustředěná v USA a EU

Summarize this article with:

The Ethereum network continues to evolve, but its geographical distribution remains a subject of monitoring for researchers. A new study from the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance shows that a significant share of nodes operates in North America and Europe. This snapshot of the network highlights several technical and legal issues. It also reminds us that the location of infrastructures can influence the protocol’s resilience. The updated data finally sheds new light on the network’s energy consumption after the merge.

In brief 31% of Ethereum nodes are hosted in the United States, compared to 39% in the European Union excluding the United Kingdom. The network can stop finalizing its transactions if more than a third of validators become simultaneously inactive. The concentration of infrastructures and client software remains a major issue for Ethereum’s resilience and decentralization. Ethereum’s energy consumption has dropped by about 99.98% since the merge, according to the new Cambridge study. Ethereum’s Geographic Distribution Is Dominated by the United States and Europe The new study indicates that 31% of Ethereum activity is now hosted in the United States. The European Union, excluding the United Kingdom, concentrates about 39% of this activity. In a statement attributed to the daily show The Starting Block, Alexander Neumuller, head of research at the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance, estimates that the distribution remains heavily oriented towards Western countries. However, it does not indicate excessive concentration in a single state.

Researchers also observe that nodes rely heavily on three major hosting providers: Hetzner, AWS, and OVH. Alexander Neumuller recalls that Hetzner’s terms of use previously prohibited operating blockchain services. However, he notes that this policy may have evolved. This concentration of infrastructures therefore deserves ongoing attention, even if the data do not show a unique national imbalance.

The study also emphasizes that the relationship between nodes and validators remains difficult to measure precisely. The same access point can indeed host several validators. Researchers explain that it is therefore impossible to know exactly the number of validators associated with each infrastructure.

The One-Third Threshold Remains a Key Concern for the Network The analysis conclusions remind us of an important characteristic of Ethereum’s operation. Contrary to some misconceptions, the network does not need to lose half of its validators to encounter a problem. As soon as more than a third of validators simultaneously cease their activity, checkpoint finalization may be interrupted.

This situation explains why the distribution of Ethereum nodes represents a strategic element for the network’s stability. An interruption affecting a widely used infrastructure could slow down overall operation. However, Alexander Neumuller specifies that the available data do not allow a direct link to be established between each node and the exact number of validators it hosts.

Concentration concerns not only physical infrastructures. According to the researcher, client software diversity also plays a crucial role. A technical defect affecting a dominant client could quickly spread to a large part of the network. The report thus presents detailed data on the distribution of consensus clients and execution clients to illustrate this other risk factor.

A New Energy Estimate and Ongoing Legal Challenges The location of nodes goes beyond the simple technical framework. In 2022, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) estimated that it could claim jurisdiction over Ethereum. The authority notably relied on the fact that a majority of the network’s infrastructure was then hosted on U.S. soil. This issue therefore continues to fuel reflections on the legal framework applicable to transactions.

Alexander Neumüller nonetheless presents the current geographical distribution as a balance he considers positive, while specifying that it is his personal assessment. According to him, better geographical distribution is an advantage for a decentralized network.

Geographical distribution is a real asset for the network’s resilience, even if the community must continue to monitor its evolution. At the same time, a strong concentration of client software could amplify the consequences of a bug affecting the most used client.

Alexander Neumuller, Head of Research at the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance, Source: The Block. He also believes that a strong concentration of client software risks quickly spreading the effects of a bug affecting the network’s main client. On this, the community must continue to closely follow this development.

The report also updates Ethereum’s energy estimates thanks to a new methodology. Researchers now use empirical data on node distribution between residential and commercial hosting, rather than theoretical assumptions. This approach takes into account software changes made after the merge, which can modify equipment consumption.

The new estimates assess the annual network consumption at about 7.9 gigawatt hours, equivalent to a continuous power of one megawatt. This corresponds to the consumption of about 2,000 British households. The study also estimates that this consumption remains about 99.98% lower than levels observed before the merge. Finally, the share of sustainable energy used by the network now exceeds 56%, compared to an estimated global average of 43%.

Researchers also estimate the theoretical cost of fully offsetting annual emissions through high-quality carbon credits. This would be between 25,000 and 55,000 pounds sterling, an amount Alexander Neumuller compares to the price of a car. He indicates that this estimate is the result that surprised him most. The Ethereum Foundation supported this study, while researchers specify that their analyses on decentralization reflect their own interpretation. Upcoming observations will measure whether this geographical distribution continues to evolve while preserving network resilience.

Podezření na exploit na Hedera přesunulo více než 5,8 milionu USD
ETH Ethereum HBAR Hedera Hashgraph
CoinGecko News 86
Original source text
Hedera’s native token HBAR has fallen more than 2% after blockchain security researchers reported that a suspected exploit had moved more than $5.8 million in assets from the Hedera network to Ethereum.

Summary

Suspected Hedera exploit moved more than $5.8 million in assets to Ethereum, according to blockchain security researchers. Specter and PeckShield said the attacker bridged funds through LayerZero before swapping WBTC for ETH. HBAR fell more than 2%, trading near $0.069 as the reported exploit unfolded. According to blockchain security researcher Specter, the suspected attacker had already bridged more than $3.7 million worth of assets from Hedera to Ethereum before continuing to move additional funds.

There appears to be an ongoing hack involving @hedera Network, with over $3.7M already bridged to Ethereum by the attacker.

The stolen funds are currently being swapped from WBTC for ETH after being bridged from the Hedera network via Layerzero.

— Specter (@SpecterAnalyst) July 11, 2026 Specter said the stolen assets were being swapped from Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) into Ether (ETH) after crossing chains through LayerZero. The researcher also published two wallet addresses believed to be linked to the incident.

At the time of writing, CryptoBull360 reported that the wallet’s estimated value had increased to roughly $5.8 million, indicating that more assets had reached Ethereum after the initial transfers. The shared wallet data showed holdings of about 3,203 ETH, representing nearly 80% of the portfolio, alongside roughly 20% in WBTC.

According to data from crypto.news, Hedera (HBAR) price traded around $0.069, down more than 2% following the reports of the suspected exploit.

Cross-chain transfers have continued after the initial breach As additional transactions appeared on-chain, blockchain security firm PeckShield said the suspected exploit had already transferred approximately $5.25 million from the Hedera mainnet to Ethereum. The firm added that the wallet held around 2,360 ETH, valued at roughly $4.25 million, and 15.58 WBTC, worth about $1 million, at the time of its analysis.

PeckShield also reported that the wallet had originally been funded with 1 ETH from Tornado Cash, citing on-chain transaction history. The observation identifies the source of the wallet’s initial funding but does not establish who controls the address or who carried out the alleged attack.

The wallet screenshots shared by both Specter and PeckShield showed a series of inbound transfers arriving within a short period before the assets were converted into ETH.

Investigation remains ongoing as official details are limited Neither Specter nor PeckShield identified the party responsible for the suspected exploit, and no official estimate of the total losses had been released at the time of writing. The reported value of the stolen assets continued to change as additional funds were observed moving through the wallet.

The incident is still developing, with blockchain security researchers continuing to monitor the addresses and publish updates as new transactions appear on-chain. Meanwhile, market participants are watching for an official statement from the Hedera team regarding the reported exploit and any measures taken to contain its impact.

The Hedera incident comes amid a series of security-related developments reported by crypto.news in recent weeks. Blockaid recently said it detected an active exploit targeting Summer.fi, estimating losses of about $6 million at the time of its alert.

Separately, Ctrl Wallet announced it will permanently shut down after a security exploit affecting some Cardano wallets, giving users until Aug. 3 to withdraw their assets. Meanwhile, crypto.news also reported that Secret Network has proposed migrating SCRT from Cosmos to Arbitrum, with the team citing security risks, weaker liquidity, and an aging codebase in its July 7 governance proposal.

Hedera po exploitu Sauce Protocol ztratila více než 5,25 milionu USD

CoinGecko News 88
Original source text
More than $5 million has been stolen from the Hedera Network after hackers exploited the DeFi lending platform Sauce Protocol. The attack caused the HBAR coin price to fall by nearly 3% as the stolen crypto was quickly moved to Ethereum.

So far, the attacker has not been identified, and the Hedera Network team has not released an official statement.

Sauce Protocol Exploit Drains Over $5 MillionAccording to PeckShield, the attacker exploited the Sauce Protocol by manipulating its price oracle after depositing collateral into the lending platform.

By changing asset prices, the hacker borrowed nearly 6.6 million USDC and 35 million HBAR before swapping the stolen tokens on SaucerSwap.

The attacker then used LayerZero to bridge the stolen funds from the Hedera Network to Ethereum, making it more difficult to recover the assets.

The total loss is estimated at more than $5.25 million, with the funds already transferred off the Hedera Network.

Stolen Funds Moved to EthereumOn-chain investigator Specter said the hacker first stole the funds from Sauce Protocol on the Hedera network. After that, the attacker used LayerZero to transfer the stolen crypto from Hedera to Ethereum, where it is easier to swap and move the funds.

The hacker’s Ethereum wallet now holds around 2,068 ETH, worth nearly $3.7 million, along with 15.58 WBTC, bringing the total stolen assets to more than $5 million.

Blockchain records also show the attacker making several transactions, repeatedly moving Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) to another wallet, likely an attempt to hide the money trail.

More than $5 million has been stolen from Hedera’s DeFi ecosystem after hackers exploited Sauce Protocol in an oracle manipulation

Before carrying out the exploit, the hacker funded the wallet 0x9A4…6a494 with just 1 ETH from Tornado Cash. Attackers often use Tornado Cash to cover their tracks before launching an exploit.

HBAR Coin Price Falls After AttackFollowing the news, HBAR dropped around 3.5%, falling to nearly $0.0670 as investors feared a more serious breach.

Although the exploit targeted Sauce Protocol rather than the Hedera network itself, the incident has raised concerns across decentralized finance (DeFi) applications built on the blockchain.

The investigation is still ongoing, yet there is no official announcement or post from the Hedera network team.

Při podezření na exploit zmizelo z Hedery 5,25 milionu USD
ETH Ethereum HBAR Hedera Hashgraph
CoinGecko News 88
Original source text
Someone just walked off with $5.25 million from the Hedera network, and they didn’t exactly try to be subtle about it. Blockchain security firms PeckShield and Specter flagged the suspicious activity on July 11, tracking a trail of funds that moved from Hedera’s mainnet to Ethereum through a cross-chain bridge powered by LayerZero technology.

The timing is particularly awkward for Hedera. Just weeks after the network celebrated the launch of the first US spot HBAR ETF, it’s now dealing with a significant security incident.

How the exploit unfolded The attacker funded an Ethereum wallet with 1 ETH routed through Tornado Cash, the privacy mixing service. From there, the attacker bridged assets from Hedera to Ethereum using LayerZero’s cross-chain infrastructure. Once the funds landed on Ethereum, the attacker swapped Wrapped Bitcoin for Ether, consolidating the stolen haul into more liquid assets.

At the time security researchers flagged the incident, the attacker’s Ethereum wallet held approximately 2,360 ETH, valued at about $4.25 million, along with 15.58 WBTC worth roughly $1 million. The wallet addresses involved have been identified as 0x9A4966152F6e10b33Cb7a37975e8619816d6a494 and 0xaf20D792A19fD42dCf697ceBa6100291D96dD93e.

Hedera itself has not confirmed the exploit. On-chain investigators are still picking through the transaction data to determine exactly what vulnerability was exploited and how the attacker gained access to the funds in the first place.

A pattern that should worry everyone This isn’t Hedera’s first brush with a security breach. Back in March 2023, the network experienced an exploit that affected decentralized exchange liquidity pools through a bug in Hedera Token Service transfers.

The 2026 landscape has been particularly brutal. A $6 million exploit hit Summer.fi, and a governance attack on BONK DAO resulted in $20 million in losses. The suspected Hedera incident slots neatly into this growing catalog of multi-million-dollar security failures.

What this means for HBAR and its new ETF In June 2026, Canary Capital launched the first US spot HBAR ETF, which debuted with $52.6 million in assets under management. Now, barely a month later, the network is associated with a multi-million-dollar theft.

The exploit appears to involve assets bridged off the Hedera network rather than a compromise of the network’s core consensus mechanism. The use of Tornado Cash to fund the initial wallet suggests the attacker was prepared for scrutiny, which typically makes fund recovery significantly more difficult.

Bitcoin ETF přilákaly 90,4 milionu USD, Ethereum ETF také zaznamenaly příliv
BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $90.4 million in net inflows on July 10, while their Ethereum counterparts added $18.4 million. That translates to roughly 1,791 BTC and 10,550 ETH worth of fresh capital flowing into regulated crypto investment products in a single day.

The recovery after a record-breaking exodus June 2026 set an unwelcome record: approximately $4 billion in net outflows from US spot Bitcoin ETFs. That’s the largest monthly withdrawal since these products launched in January 2024.

A 10-day consecutive outflow streak from Bitcoin ETFs finally snapped on July 2, after hemorrhaging a cumulative $2.73 billion during that stretch alone.

Earlier in the month, Bitcoin ETFs recorded a single-day inflow of $265.7 million, driven primarily by BlackRock’s IBIT. The $90.4 million on July 10 is more subdued, but it reinforces the narrative that capital is rotating back in rather than continuing to flee.

Who’s winning the ETF fee war BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC continue to dominate inflows on the Bitcoin side. On the Ethereum front, BlackRock’s ETHA and Fidelity’s FETH have carved out similar positions.

Grayscale’s higher-fee products have faced persistent outflows as investors migrate to cheaper alternatives. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust, which converted from a closed-end fund, carried significantly higher fees than competitors who entered the market with aggressive pricing, resulting in a steady asset transfer from Grayscale to BlackRock and Fidelity.

Since spot Bitcoin ETFs launched in January 2024, total net inflows have surpassed $50 billion, reaching approximately $51.3 billion by July 2026.

Macro backdrop and what’s driving sentiment Bitcoin prices have been hovering between $56,000 and $64,000 in early July. Easing inflation expectations have provided some tailwinds for risk assets broadly, and crypto ETFs appear to be catching that breeze.

The $18.4 million flowing into Ethereum ETFs is notable because Ethereum ETFs have historically struggled to match Bitcoin’s momentum in attracting capital. The fact that both products are seeing positive flows simultaneously suggests the recovery isn’t limited to Bitcoin; it’s a broader re-engagement with crypto as an asset class.

What this means for investors For investors watching the competitive landscape, the continued dominance of BlackRock and Fidelity products is worth tracking. The earlier $265.7 million inflow day in July shows the capacity for larger moves when conditions align.

A $4 billion monthly outflow in June demonstrates how quickly sentiment can reverse. With Bitcoin trading between $56,000 and $64,000, investors should watch whether the July inflow trend accelerates or fizzles. If daily inflows consistently stay positive and gradually increase, it would mark a meaningful shift in the institutional positioning that drove the June selloff.

BlackRock has transferred 8,700 ETH—valued at approximately $15.81 million—to Coinbase Prime in the latest significant move tracked on the blockchain. According to data from Onchain Lens, the transfer originated from wallets linked to BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF, known by its ticker ETHA, coinciding with escalating outflows from the fund.

Transfer coincided with mounting ETF redemptionsOn the same day, BlackRock’s spot Ethereum ETF, ETHA, saw a net outflow of 7,240 ETH, representing around $12.67 million. This continued a trend of weak capital inflows into Ethereum ETFs, underlining continued pressure on the investment products amid challenging investor sentiment.

BlackRock, one of the world’s largest asset managers, remains under close observation in the cryptocurrency ETF sector. Coinbase Prime, on the other hand, serves as a leading platform offering custody, trading, and execution services tailored to institutional clients navigating the digital asset space.

According to Onchain Lens, 8,700 ETH was moved from BlackRock’s ETHA-linked wallets to Coinbase Prime during the exact period when substantial outflows hit ETHA.

Outflows deepen in Ethereum ETFsData for July 9 shows total daily outflows from spot Ethereum ETFs reaching $52.08 million. The largest single-fund withdrawal was recorded in Fidelity’s FETH. These figures highlight persistently weak short-term investor demand across the sector.

ETF flows have become a key barometer of overall market sentiment in recent quarters. June stood out as a period of heightened redemptions, with Ethereum ETFs seeing $690 million in net outflows—extending the negative streak that began in the first quarter of the year.

Historical data suggest that the third quarter has sometimes marked the beginning of recovery phases for Ethereum.

Analytics from CoinGlass reveal that since 2016, Ethereum has averaged an 8.08% return in third quarters, finishing seven out of the last eleven Q3 periods in positive territory. Notably, Q3 of 2025 saw a robust 66.55% surge.

Despite prior years hinting at stronger Q3 trends, investors are cautious, noting that a lack of new catalysts means past performance alone might not be enough to spark a sustainable recovery.

It is repeatedly emphasized that historical results are no guarantee of future outcomes. Over the past 24 hours, Ethereum posted a 2.6% gain, outperforming Bitcoin and climbing to $1,790. This price action fuels ongoing debate about whether ETH can break above its pattern of descending highs and lows.

CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: $BMNR), chaired by Fundstrat's Tom Lee, has purchased another 20,500 $ETH worth approximately $35.9 million from Galaxy Digital, according to onchain data cited by Lookonchain. The transaction is the company's second major Ethereum buy in as many days and adds further momentum to what has become one of the most closely watched corporate accumulation stories in crypto.

Back-to-Back Buys Push Holdings Higher The latest purchase follows a reported acquisition of 40,000 ETH on July 8, executed through FalconX and Kraken. Combined, the two transactions total roughly 60,500 ETH acquired within days. As of July 5, 2026, Bitmine's holdings stood at 5,742,237 ETH, representing approximately 4.8% of the total ETH supply of 120.7 million tokens. The latest buys reported on July 10 would push that figure higher still, bringing the company closer to its stated target.

The "Alchemy of 5%" and What's at Stake Guided by its philosophy of "the alchemy of 5%," Bitmine is committed to ETH as its primary treasury reserve asset, leveraging native protocol-level activities including staking and decentralised finance mechanisms. A 3.5 million share 9.50% Series A Perpetual Preferred (BMNP) deal raised about $273.8 million to fund additional digital assets, validator growth, and strategic ETH-ecosystem investments.

Chairman Thomas Lee attributed Ethereum's recent outperformance of Bitcoin and Bitmine's continued accumulation to rising investor optimism that the proposed Clarity Act will pass and bring greater regulatory certainty to crypto, especially Ethereum. Lee also believes Ethereum is undervalued, citing tokenization and rising demand from artificial intelligence applications as long-term catalysts.

Annualized staking revenues are projected at $235 million, with 4.9 million ETH representing 85% of the 5.74 million ETH held by Bitmine. Bitmine's crypto holdings rank it as the number one Ethereum treasury and number two global treasury, behind Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR).

Ethereum Foundation ruší tým Protocol Support
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
The Ethereum Foundation has dissolved its Protocol Support team as part of a broader restructuring that recently cut about 20% of the nonprofit’s workforce.

Summary

Ethereum Foundation dissolved Protocol Support after five years coordinating upgrades, developer meetings and fellowship programs worldwide. Several team members lost their roles following the Foundation’s broader 20% workforce reduction announced recently. Core protocol work continues under Ethereum Foundation’s new structure, but some support programs face uncertainty. Protocol Support coordinated several parts of Ethereum’s development process. Its work covered core developer meetings, network upgrade tracking, Ethereum Improvement Proposal support and programs that trained new protocol contributors.

The Protocol Support account confirmed the team’s closure on X. It also invited Ethereum organizations seeking experienced developers to contact former team members.

the EF Protocol Support team has been dissolved 🖖

— EF Protocol Support (@EFprotocol) July 9, 2026 Mario Havel, who worked with Protocol Support for more than five years, said he remains at the Ethereum Foundation. However, he confirmed that the rest of his team had been dissolved and that several colleagues had lost their roles.

“I am still part of EF, continuing my work and figuring out what’s most needed in the future,” Havel wrote on X. “However, all of my team, Protocol Support, that I have been part of for 5+ years, has been dissolved.”

I was getting questions about recent EF layoffs and my situation so I should share something public as well.

I am still part of EF, continuing my work and figuring out what's most needed in the future. However, all of my team, Protocol Support, that I have been part for 5+… https://t.co/KRgKxiXQpa

— Mario Havel (@TMIYChao) July 8, 2026 Havel described the closure as the “bitter end” of a team that had supported Ethereum’s core development process through several forms and leadership changes.

Team managed key Ethereum developer programs Protocol Support helped organize All Core Developers meetings, where client teams and researchers discuss proposed upgrades. It also supported breakout calls, tracked network fork readiness and helped contributors understand Ethereum’s technical roadmap.

The team maintained Forkcast, a public platform that tracks Ethereum upgrades, proposed EIPs, testnet launches and mainnet activation plans. Former team lead William Morriss said the restructuring had ended his Ethereum Foundation role.

Protocol Support also ran the Ethereum Protocol Fellowship. The program trained developers seeking to contribute to Ethereum’s core protocol and connected participants with client teams, researchers and other technical groups.

Havel said he and former colleague Josh Davis built the fellowship over four years. The program has since brought dozens of new developers into Ethereum’s core development community.

The Foundation had opened applications for the seventh Ethereum Protocol Fellowship cohort in April. The available statements did not explain whether the current cohort will continue under another team.

Closure follows wider Foundation layoffs The team’s dissolution follows the Ethereum Foundation’s new organizational structure, announced on June 23. The Foundation cut 54 positions, equal to roughly 20% of its workforce, after a months-long review of its activities and spending.

As previously reported by crypto.news, the Foundation reorganized its work into five main areas: protocol, access, user, community and institutional layers. Separate groups handle operations and management.

The Foundation said affected workers would receive severance, career transition support and grants for related expenses. It described the changes as necessary to focus its staff and resources on work that the organization must perform over the coming years.

The latest closure also follows earlier changes to Ethereum’s research and development structure. The Foundation reduced its Protocol Research and Development team in 2025 and renamed the remaining group Protocol.

Core protocol work remains active The new protocol cluster remains responsible for Ethereum’s underlying technology. Its stated tasks include shipping upgrades safely, reducing technical complexity and improving privacy, security and censorship resistance.

Ethereum developers are also working on the Glamsterdam upgrade. The planned update includes changes to block construction, data access and network performance, as crypto.news previously reported.

However, the Foundation has not publicly detailed where every Protocol Support responsibility will move. The future management of developer meetings, Forkcast, fellowship programs and EIP support therefore remains unclear.

Protocol development does not depend on one Foundation team because Ethereum client developers, researchers and independent contributors work across several organizations. Still, Protocol Support provided coordination services that connected many of those groups during network upgrades.

Robinhood Chain has attracted more than $70 million worth of bridged Ether within its first week, strengthening Ethereum’s role as the settlement layer behind the brokerage’s new tokenized finance network.

Summary

Robinhood Chain has attracted more than $70 million in bridged Ether within its first week after launch. Daily Uniswap trading volume has reached $500 million while total value locked has climbed above $106 million, supported by institutional liquidity. Token Terminal said continued adoption of Robinhood Chain could create a meaningful new source of demand for Ether. Data from Token Terminal showed the Arbitrum-based layer-2 network crossed the milestone after launching on July 1, with the analytics platform saying continued adoption could make the chain “a meaningful new source of demand for ETH.”

If adoption continues, the chain could become a meaningful new source of demand for ethereum:native pic.twitter.com/ihvgnut9Hz

— Token Terminal 📊 (@tokenterminal) July 9, 2026 Robinhood introduced the EVM-compatible network as an “AI-native” blockchain built for real-world assets, using ETH as its native gas token. The launch coincided with the company’s rollout of tokenized US stocks to customers in more than 120 countries, expanding its push into blockchain-based financial products.

Recent on-chain data also points to rapid ecosystem growth. Earlier this week, DeFiLlama data showed Robinhood Chain’s total value locked had climbed above $106 million after large institutional deposits into the Morpho lending protocol, while daily Uniswap trading volume reached $500 million, placing the network behind only Ethereum mainnet over the same period.

Ethereum demand grows alongside Robinhood Chain activity Alongside the rise in bridged assets, Token Terminal said Robinhood Chain has been converting liquidity into on-chain activity. According to the firm, daily active users reached 194,000 while daily revenue climbed to about $39,000, implying an annualized run rate of roughly $14 million.

DeFiLlama reported similar growth, showing the network held 46,748 ETH, worth about $83 million at current prices, before TVL later expanded beyond $100 million. The platform added that inflows on Thursday alone totaled 31,855 ETH, or roughly $55 million.

Commenting on the network’s activity, Uniswap founder Hayden Adams said most transactions on Robinhood Chain are denominated in ETH.

“It’s the base pair for trading, the highest volume asset, and the gas token to pay for blockspace,” Adams wrote, adding that the network also burns ETH on Ethereum’s mainnet to cover data storage costs.

Institutional participation has also accelerated liquidity growth. According to DeFiLlama, nearly $90 million of the chain’s locked value is held on Morpho, where Robinhood Earn offers around 7% annual percentage yield on USDG deposits. The biggest contribution came from Ethena, which deposited $50 million into a Steakhouse Financial-managed USDG vault in a single transaction.

Institutional flows support early momentum The growing activity comes as Robinhood continues expanding its tokenized finance ecosystem. Trading on the network has centered on Wrapped Ether (WETH), memecoins, and tokenized equities including NVDA, AAPL, and GOOG, while Robinhood launched the chain with support for Uniswap’s v2, v3, v4, and UniswapX infrastructure.

RWA.xyz data shows Ethereum and its layer-2 networks account for more than half of the tokenized real-world asset market, giving Robinhood Chain access to an ecosystem that already dominates the sector.

Ethereum Foundation našla chyby s pomocí AI agentů
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 78
Original source text
In brief Ethereum Foundation researchers are using AI agents to red-team critical network infrastructure. The agents helped uncover a peer-to-peer software vulnerability that was later disclosed. AI-assisted audits have already surfaced bugs in blockchain projects, including Zcash. The Ethereum Foundation is using swarms of AI agents to attack Ethereum—before someone else does.

In a blog post on Thursday, Ethereum Foundation researchers on the Protocol Security team said they have deployed a series of AI agents against the software Ethereum relies on, hunting for vulnerabilities in cryptographic systems, protocol code, and smart contracts.

“We've been running coordinated AI agents against the kinds of systems the network depends on, like systems software, cryptographic code, and contracts that have to be right,” the researchers wrote. “The agents found real bugs.”

One of the bugs discovered included a remotely triggered panic in libp2p’s gossipsub, part of the peer-to-peer layer used by Ethereum consensus clients. The issue was fixed and disclosed on Github as CVE-2026-34219.

Known as red teaming, the practice involves companies deploying security researchers to attack their own systems, attempting to infiltrate or disrupt networks to uncover weaknesses before malicious hackers find them. While red teams attack a system, it's up to blue teams to defend it.

Human researchers have traditionally searched for vulnerabilities by reviewing code manually—but AI agents can scan entire codebases, test potential exploits, and generate findings for review.

“Agents finding bugs wasn't the surprise,” the team wrote. “The surprise was how little of the work went into finding them, and how much went into telling the real bugs from the ones that just looked real.”

According to the Ethereum Foundation, the agents are organized into specialized roles, including reconnaissance, hunting, gap-filling, and validation. Some search for possible attack paths, while others attempt to reproduce failures and verify whether they work against production code.

“The schema is there for a reason,” they wrote. “It forces a specific, testable claim and a clear definition of done. An agent that has to write down an observable proof can't fall back on "this looks risky."

The growing role of AI in vulnerability research was demonstrated in April, when a preview version of Anthropic’s Claude Mythos discovered 271 vulnerabilities in Mozilla’s Firefox browser.

The researchers compared AI agents to fuzzers, or tools that test software for flaws. However, unlike fuzzers, AI agents can generate vulnerability reports, assess impact, and create proof-of-concept tests.

But detailed does not always mean correct. AI-generated findings can appear convincing even when they are wrong, leaving researchers to filter out duplicates, false positives, and vulnerabilities that cannot actually be exploited.

"One rule matters more than any other. A candidate isn't a finding until there's a self-contained artifact that reproduces the failure against the real code, and that runs for someone who didn't write it," the researchers wrote. "The reproducer doesn't read the write-up, and it doesn't care how confident the model sounded. It either runs or it doesn't."

AI tools have already helped security researchers uncover flaws in blockchain networks.

In May, security researcher Taylor Hornby used Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.8 during an AI-assisted audit that found a critical vulnerability in Zcash’s Orchard privacy pool. The flaw had existed for roughly four years and could have allowed an attacker to create counterfeit ZEC without an obvious on-chain trace. A network upgrade to restore confidence in Zcash’s supply is still in the works.

The Ethereum Foundation’s experiment brings the technology in-house, using AI agents to test its own code to find vulnerabilities.

“AI didn't replace the security researcher. It moved the work,” the Ethereum Foundation said. “Agents let us cover far more ground than we could by hand. In exchange, they ask for more careful judgment, across a much bigger pile of confident-sounding claims.”

“That's a trade worth making,” they added, “as long as you remember that the judgment is the real product.”

ETH před Glamsterdamem čeká býčí růst

Rising spot activity alongside falling leverage suggests long-term buyers may be replacing speculative traders.

Ethereum (ETH) is trading at nearly 65% below its all-time high, with attention around the asset at an almost yearly low, even as its largest network upgrade since The Merge is due within weeks.

But an analyst tracking the setup says the gap between weak social interest and steady on-chain usage is the kind of divergence that has often come right before sharp moves for the cryptocurrency.

Glamsterdam Approaches as On-Chain Data Stays Firm In a July 9 post on X, pseudonymous analyst Wise Crypto noted that the Ethereum network has been processing roughly 450,000 active addresses despite social media discussion sitting near yearly lows.

According to them, the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade could become a major catalyst, considering that it could increase Ethereum’s gas limit by three times and cut transaction fees by about 78%. It has also been said that it could lift throughput to about 10,000 transactions per second.

“Major catalyst. Minimal attention,” the market watcher wrote, while naming $1,754 as the ETH level worth watching. A sustained move above that area, according to them, could open the way toward $2,440, while failure to hold support could send the world’s second-largest crypto asset back toward $880.

Looking at CoinGecko data at the time of writing, ETH was trading just a few dollars below Wise Crypto’s stated resistance level, having dipped slightly (about 1%) in 24 hours but still gaining nearly 7% during the past week and about 3% over 30 days.

That quiet backdrop is sitting alongside some unusual exchange data shared by CryptoQuant contributor Amr Taha, who said that Binance’s 30-day ETH open interest change fell to -594,000 ETH earlier in the week, marking its deepest contraction since August 2024. Around the same time, ETH spot volume on OKX climbed to $2.09 billion, 49% higher than its best reading of the year, which was recorded on February 5.

Executives Talk Up the Cycle While Traders Stay Cautious Ethereum has been rejected at $1,800 three times this week, but that didn’t stop Consensys co-founder Joseph Lubin from saying Wednesday that the “Summer of Ethereum Love is gaining steam,” pointing to newly launched steward groups like Ethlabs working alongside the Ethereum Foundation, and citing the network’s eleven years of uptime as a draw for institutions.

Analyst Michaël van de Poppe struck a similar tone over the weekend, arguing that “the worst period for ETH is over” after the token closed out its third straight quarterly loss of more than 20%, a first in its history. He called the odds of a fourth consecutive drop statistically low and pointed to the pending CLARITY Act as a potential liquidity driver.

Eightco oznamuje treasury za 397 milionů USD
ETH Ethereum WLD World
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Table of contents

Public markets rarely get a direct window into a company’s crypto conviction. Eightco Holdings (NASDAQ: ORBS) just pried that window open. The firm’s July 8 snapshot shows total holdings of roughly $397 million, a figure built from an unusual mix of AI equity stakes and liquid crypto assets. The treasury includes an indirect $90 million position in OpenAI, $18 million in Beast Industries, 16,278 ETH, and 283 million WLD tokens—valued at $149 million at the time of disclosure.

For a Nasdaq-listed entity, the composition reads less like a traditional balance-sheet hedge and more like a concentrated bet on AI infrastructure and on-chain identity. The Ethereum stack alone is large enough to place Eightco among the more exposed public-company ETH holders, even if it still trails dedicated crypto treasury companies by a wide margin. Meanwhile, the Worldcoin (WLD) position dwarfs many crypto-native funds’ allocations to the token and directly ties the company’s fortunes to the adoption curve of the World Network.

What the Treasury Actually Holds The numbers matter because they’re unusually granular. Most corporate disclosures round crypto exposure into a catch‑all “digital assets” line. Eightco separated equity from tokens and named the projects. That level of detail is uncommon and forces the market to price not just crypto volatility but also private AI valuation risk. The $90 million indirect OpenAI stake raises immediate questions about how that valuation was derived—secondary market pricing for OpenAI equity has been choppy, and liquidity is thin. Beast Industries, a smaller position at $18 million, adds another layer of exposure to the AI hardware and robotics sector.

On the crypto side, 16,278 ETH represents roughly $36 million at current prices, assuming a ballpark $2,200 per ether. The bulk of the reported value, however, sits in 283 million WLD tokens. WLD’s fully diluted valuation and trading volumes have swung dramatically over the past year as the project rolled out biometric verification hubs across emerging markets. Holding that many tokens—likely acquired through grant agreements, market purchases, or strategic allocations—creates a direct link between Eightco’s balance sheet and World Network user growth numbers.

A Corporate Treasury Without the Usual Guardrails Public companies that hold crypto typically stick to bitcoin or ether, often citing their liquidity and regulatory clarity. Eightco’s decision to allocate heavily to WLD sits outside that playbook and reflects a different thesis. Instead of treating crypto as a store of value or inflation hedge, the treasury appears structured around ecosystem participation—staking, governance, or alignment with a protocol’s long-term infrastructure play. The Ethereum position and the Worldcoin exposure both point toward a conviction that identity protocols and AI-native distribution rails will accrue value faster than general-purpose smart contract platforms alone.

That approach aligns with a broader shift in institutional thinking tracked by recent tokenization and treasury moves. As real-world asset tokenization crosses $20 billion on-chain and traditional finance firms settle Treasury trades directly on public ledgers, the line between equity holdings and token allocation blurs. Eightco’s structure may look aggressive now, but it’s increasingly part of a pattern where a balance sheet becomes a portfolio of protocol positions.

What Stays Unanswered The press release leaves several holes. There is no disclosed cost basis for the ETH or WLD, making it impossible to judge whether the treasury is deep in profit or exposure is concentrated near entry. The indirect OpenAI stake is not explained—whether through a special-purpose vehicle, secondary purchases, or a fund commitment. Liquidity for that position is unknown, and so is any lockup or redemption schedule.

For WLD, the lack of detail on how tokens were sourced matters. If they came from early grants tied to network contributions, selling restrictions could limit balance-sheet flexibility. If they were purchased on secondary markets, volatility cushions are thinner. Regulatory risk also hovers over Worldcoin in multiple jurisdictions where biometric data collection by a private network continues to attract scrutiny from data protection authorities. A sudden enforcement action would not only hit the token price but could reshape the company’s entire book value overnight.

The disclosure arrives during a week when Ethereum itself sat near the top of developer activity rankings, reinforcing the idea that infrastructure value and treasury allocations are becoming harder to separate. For Eightco, the market now has a clear view of a $397 million wager that mixes two of the most volatile and politically sensitive corners of tech into a single public-company filing. The numbers are big enough that every subsequent quarterly update will be watched for changes in token balances and valuation marks.

Circle spustila nativní EURC na Base
ETH Ethereum EUROC Euro Coin
CoinGecko News 72
Original source text
Circle’s EURC launch on Base is a small but important stablecoin infrastructure move. It brings a native euro-denominated token to one of the most watched Ethereum layer-2 networks at a time when European regulation is becoming much more concrete.

That combination matters. Base needs more native liquidity tools, and Circle needs to show that its MiCA-compliant strategy can translate into useful distribution across active networks.

For more details, visit the official Circle platform.

TL;DR Circle launched native EURC on Base. The rollout gives the Ethereum layer-2 a euro-denominated stablecoin aligned with Circle’s MiCA strategy. It adds another liquidity building block for Base as regulated stablecoin competition intensifies. Why EURC On Base Matters Most crypto liquidity is still dollar-denominated, but euro stablecoins are becoming more important as MiCA changes the European operating environment. A native EURC deployment gives Base users a cleaner way to move euro liquidity without relying only on bridged or wrapped assets.

For developers, native stablecoins can matter because they reduce friction in payments, DeFi, and trading pairs. For users, they make the network feel more complete.

Circle’s MiCA Advantage Circle has been positioning itself as one of the stablecoin issuers most prepared for Europe’s new rulebook. EURC on Base fits that strategy because it combines regulatory positioning with distribution on a fast-growing chain.

The broader stablecoin market is becoming more regional and more regulated. That means issuers with clear licenses and compliant products may be able to capture share where unregulated tokens face restrictions.

Base Gets Another Liquidity Piece For Base, the launch adds to an ecosystem already trying to build depth across DeFi, payments, and consumer applications. Stablecoins are the settlement layer for much of that activity.

If EURC finds real usage, it could help Base become more attractive to European users and projects looking for euro-denominated on-chain rails.

The Part That Matters The useful way to read this story is not as a standalone headline about Circle, but as part of the wider pressure building around Stablecoins coverage this week. Markets have been jumping quickly from one catalyst to the next, so the cleaner value for readers is in separating the actual development from the instant reaction around it. In this case, the source material gives us a concrete event to work from, rather than a loose rumour or a recycled social-media talking point.

That distinction matters because crypto readers are being asked to process a lot at once: ETF flows, regulatory actions, exchange listings, protocol upgrades, wallet movements, and political signals. A story like this is most useful when it helps them understand where EURC fits into that broader map. It does not need to be inflated into a guaranteed price call to be worth covering. It simply needs to explain what changed, who is affected, and why the market is paying attention today.

The caveat is also important. Even clean source-backed developments can be overinterpreted when traders are hunting for a fast narrative. A listing does not automatically create lasting demand, a regulatory update does not immediately settle every legal question, and an on-chain movement does not always translate into a finished sale. The better read is to treat the development as a fresh data point and then watch whether follow-up activity confirms the direction of travel.

For NewsBTC readers, that means keeping the focus on what can actually be verified from the source and avoiding the temptation to turn every update into a sweeping market verdict. The story is strong enough on its own terms: it gives investors and traders another piece of context around Stablecoins, while leaving room for the next filing, dashboard update, wallet movement, governance vote, or exchange notice to decide whether the angle grows into something bigger.

Ethereum Foundation opravila chybu a zvýšila odměnu
ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News 86
Original source text
AI Agents Enter the Security LabThe @ethereumfndn security team has been running coordinated AI agents directly against Ethereum's core protocol code, and the experiment has produced tangible results. Among the confirmed findings was a flaw at the peer-to-peer (P2P) network layer, which has since been patched and publicly disclosed as a CVE. The Ethereum Foundation published a detailed account of the exercise on its blog on July 9, 2026.

The effort is part of a broader push to harden Ethereum's Layer 1 infrastructure ahead of a busy period of protocol upgrades. The Foundation has also been funding AI-powered protocol security research through its grants program, which aims to move tooling beyond basic static analysis into protocol specification auditing and active vulnerability detection.

The Signal-to-Noise ProblemThe more instructive finding, however, was not the bugs themselves. It was the volume of noise that surrounded them. The AI agents produced a large number of confident-sounding reports, and the majority turned out to be wrong, duplicated, or pointing to code paths that are unreachable in practice.

That dynamic is not unique to Ethereum. Across the broader security industry, AI-assisted discovery is driving a sharp rise in reported vulnerabilities, but the subset that genuinely requires action remains far smaller. The challenge has shifted from finding bugs to sorting them. Triage, validation, and response are now the bottlenecks, and human capacity for that work remains limited.

The lesson from the Ethereum Foundation's exercise reflects that reality. AI can scan a codebase at a scale no manual team could match, but the credibility of any finding still depends on an experienced human reviewer at the end of the pipeline. Getting that balance right will likely define how effective AI-assisted security becomes across the broader blockchain ecosystem.

Separately, the Foundation raised its maximum bug bounty from $250,000 to $1,000,000 for critical protocol vulnerabilities, with reports acknowledged within 48 hours and an initial assessment completed within one week. That expanded program signals how seriously the Foundation is treating protocol security as a strategic priority.

Výzkum Etherea navrhuje UTXO, Cardano si nárokuje prvenství

CoinGecko News 72

In This Article What the Ethereum Paper Actually ProposesHoskinson's Prior Art ArgumentCardano Community Reaction and the Convergence ArgumentLeios and What Comes Next for Cardano Ethereum researchers have published a paper proposing native UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) support for the network’s execution layer, and Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson responded on X with a pointed claim: Cardano has been running this model for over a decade, and Ethereum is arriving late without acknowledgment.

In a July 7 tweet, Hoskinson said: “It’s not like I’ve been literally working on this topic for over 10 years of my life and launched a cryptocurrency that was number three on CoinMarketCap with millions of users to deploy it.”

This war of words between Cardano and Ethereum comes as ADA is outperforming ETH on the day, up +0.7% over the past 24 hours, compared to Ethereum’s +0.4% over the same timeframe.

It's not like I've been literally working on this topic for over 10 years of my life and launched a cryptocurrency that was number three on coinmarketcap with millions of users to deploy it. It's literally a crime in the Ethereum inner circles to mention Cardano. EUTXO is the… https://t.co/3F3l6cg0JE

— Charles Hoskinson (@IOHK_Charles) July 7, 2026

What the Ethereum Paper Actually Proposes The research document identifies a structural cost in Ethereum’s account model: every time a new address receives ETH or an ERC-20 token for the first time, it generates permanent state storage that accumulates indefinitely as the user base grows.

The paper proposes using native UTXOs specifically for simple payment transactions that do not require persistent account storage, projecting a roughly 99.8% reduction in permanent state for those payments.

The key mechanical distinction is that a UTXO is created once, spent once, and then removed. It leaves no residual footprint on the network’s state. Critically, the proposal does not replace Ethereum’s existing account model; smart contract activity would continue operating exactly as it does today.

This is a targeted patch for a specific scalability problem, not a wholesale architectural shift. The paper has not been formalized as an Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) and carries no confirmed implementation timeline.

Hoskinson’s Prior Art Argument Hoskinson stated on X that he has spent over ten years developing Cardano’s eUTXO (Extended Unspent Transaction Output) model, which showcases a scalable proof of concept.

Unlike Bitcoin’s UTXO, Cardano’s design incorporates datums, redeemers, and script context, allowing smart contracts to function as deterministic local state machines without needing to access the global blockchain state.

This determinism is key, as a transaction’s validity relies solely on its inputs, leading to predictable fees and enhanced parallelism across UTXO sets, while minimizing front-running risks.

Hoskinson highlighted that Cardano achieved the third position on CoinMarketCap, with millions of users testing this model’s viability.

It’s important to note that the ten-year timeline pertains to research and design, while Cardano’s smart contract functionality, fully utilizing eUTXO, launched with the Alonzo upgrade in September 2021 and was developed through IOHK’s research pipeline.

Cardano Community Reaction and the Convergence Argument Dori, a figure in the Cardano community, asserted that Ethereum’s permanent state growth creates structural weaknesses by increasing node storage costs and concentrating validation power.

He linked Ethereum’s account model to issues like MEV, reentrancy attacks, and limits on parallel transaction processing, suggesting that eUTXO design effectively addresses these problems.

From a neutral perspective, both Ethereum and Cardano tackle similar challenges of state locality and transaction processing, albeit through different approaches. Other projects, like Ergo and Nervos CKB, have also adopted UTXO-style models.

The debate over blockchain architecture focuses on trade-offs relevant to specific use cases. Meanwhile, Ethereum’s account model offers an advantage in synchronous DeFi composability, which is crucial for complex multi-step financial transactions.

The debate lands at a moment when Cardano is pursuing its most significant throughput upgrade yet. Hoskinson has said the planned Leios upgrade could increase Cardano’s transaction throughput by up to 60 times, a level he argues would put the network’s processing speed on par with the XRP Ledger.

He also flagged that progress depends on governance approval from the Cardano community, introducing a procedural dependency that makes the timeline uncertain.

If Leios delivers on that projection, it would substantially close the performance gap that has historically been cited as a constraint on ADA-based DeFi adoption.

Whether Ethereum’s native UTXO research ever moves from paper to protocol, the conversation it has sparked is already doing work, forcing a precise comparison of two mature blockchain architecture philosophies that have been talking past each other for years.
