20 September 2026 | 14:55 MultiversX stopped its mainnet after an attempted virtual-machine exploit altered the blockchain’s state—the live record of balances, token ownership and smart-contract data. The harder decision is how to repair those changes without reversing legitimate transactions.
What MultiversX confirmed The problem involved transaction atomicity. Invalid changes were recorded onchain. Mainnet operations were suspended. A patch entered shadow-fork testing. Targeted recovery was being evaluated. What remains unknown Whether users permanently lost funds. Which accounts or contracts were affected. How the attacker triggered the failure. Which recovery method will be adopted. When every service will reopen. The halt froze the problem; it did not undo it In its incident update, MultiversX said an attacker attempted to exploit an atomicity problem in the mainnet virtual-machine layer. Developers suspended network operations while they traced the resulting state changes and prepared a patch. No confirmed loss figure had been disclosed.
Stopping block production prevents new transactions from building on records that may already be incorrect. It also blocks another attempt using the same method while engineers determine which balances or contract entries were affected.
The pause does not undo changes the network already accepted. Those records remain the starting point used by wallets, applications and bridges until MultiversX adopts a recovery plan.
When checked on September 20, the MultiversX status page classified the system as partially degraded. The public API, xPortal, Explorer, Wallet, Bridge, xExchange and xLaunchpad showed degraded performance, while the gateway and index were listed as operational.
Those labels describe individual services and do not confirm that normal transaction processing has resumed. Restoring the interfaces also would not resolve the underlying accounting problem. To understand why, it helps to start with transaction atomicity.
Atomicity is the blockchain version of “all or nothing” A smart-contract transaction can contain several connected operations. One balance might be reduced, another increased and a liquidity pool updated. Atomic execution requires the complete sequence to succeed before any of those changes becomes permanent.
Atomic execution in plain English
Expected result Every required step succeeds and all changes are committed together. If any step fails, none of the transaction’s changes should be committed.
Atomicity failure One operation fails, but an earlier state change remains. The network can then record a partial result that should not have existed by itself.
This is a simplified example of atomicity, not a reconstruction of the MultiversX incident.
A broken transaction could leave an account balance, token supply or contract record inconsistent with the intended result. MultiversX has not disclosed what type of data was altered, so there is not enough evidence to say that the attacker created tokens, drained a particular contract or stole a known amount.
Finality proves agreement, not bug-free execution Blockchain finality means validators have agreed on which block and resulting state belong to the canonical chain. It does not prove that the software used to calculate that state was free from defects.
Validators execute the same protocol rules and compare their results. If those rules contain the same flaw across every node, validators can consistently agree on an outcome that the protocol was never intended to permit.
Consensus can establish which state the network accepted. It cannot guarantee that a software bug did not help produce that state.
Installing corrected software prevents the same execution path from working again, but it does not decide what should happen to the changes already recorded. MultiversX must identify the affected entries and give validators a reproducible way to verify that unrelated activity remains unchanged.
The shadow fork provides a rehearsal before mainnet restarts MultiversX has prepared a patch for testing in a shadow-fork environment. A shadow fork copies the relevant mainnet history and state into an isolated environment, allowing engineers to reproduce real network conditions without experimenting on live balances.
The team can apply the patch, replay the affected sequence and test a proposed recovery before validators install it on mainnet. That process should establish:
Whether nodes calculate the same repaired state. Whether unaffected balances remain unchanged. Whether applications read the corrected records properly. Whether bridges and exchanges can reconcile their data. Whether validators can restart without producing competing chains. Passing those tests would not reopen every service automatically. Deployment still requires coordination among validators, exchanges, bridges and the infrastructure providers connecting users and applications to MultiversX.
Targeted repair would avoid rewinding the entire chain MultiversX said it was evaluating a targeted recovery intended to preserve finalized transaction history and legitimate user records while addressing only the changes connected with the incident. The project has not explained how that correction would be implemented.
Targeted state correction Only balances, contract storage or other records connected with the incident would be repaired. Unrelated transactions could remain in the finalized history.
Main difficulty: proving that the correction includes every invalid change—and nothing else.
Broad chain rollback The network would return to an earlier block and rebuild from there. Transactions completed after that point could disappear even if they had no connection with the incident.
Main difficulty: legitimate transfers and application activity may need to be repeated or reconciled.
The cost of a broader rollback was visible after the Tectonic exploit, when Cronos validators removed almost 11,000 blocks covering nearly two hours. The rollback reversed most of the incident-related borrowing still recorded on Cronos, but it also reversed unrelated transactions completed during that period.
The two incidents have different causes. The Cronos example matters here because it shows the collateral cost of rewinding a shared ledger. MultiversX says it is considering a narrower repair, but it has not yet shown how the affected records would be isolated.
A targeted repair would not necessarily delete the original blocks. The transaction history could remain visible while a coordinated protocol change establishes the state that applications and validators will recognize after the restart. The method cannot be assessed properly until MultiversX publishes its recovery design.
What MultiversX users should do during the pause For ordinary holders, the simplest instruction is to wait. MultiversX has not asked users to migrate tokens, connect wallets to a recovery website or approve a corrective transaction.
Until MultiversX confirms normal operations
Do not submit or rebroadcast transactions. Do not deposit or withdraw EGLD or ESDT through exchanges. Avoid moving those assets through cross-chain bridges. Keep the transaction hash for anything submitted near the halt. Ignore recovery links, migrations and unsolicited support messages. Wait for both MultiversX and the relevant platform to confirm reopening. A network repair would be adopted by validators and infrastructure operators. It would not require users to reveal seed phrases or send assets to a new address.
Wallets and explorers may also need time to resynchronize after block production resumes. A stale balance or missing recent transaction in an interface would not, by itself, show that the underlying assets had changed.
A restart must be verifiable Restarting block production will restore availability, but it will not answer the finality question by itself. MultiversX still needs to disclose which accounts or contracts were affected, how the repaired state was calculated and how validators independently reached the same result.
If that record shows that only incident-related changes were corrected, targeted recovery may preserve more legitimate activity than a broad rollback. Without it, the network could resume while users remain unable to verify why some finalized changes were altered and others were retained.

Multicoin Capital Co-founder: Crypto market is slightly overheated, may face a correction and consolidation.
Multicoin Capital co-founder Tushar Jain wrote in a recent article that current cryptocurrency market sentiment is slightly exuberant, and he would not be surprised if a pullback or period of consolidation follows. He advised investors to adopt a longer time horizon and avoid overtrading, as accurately judging every short-term top or bottom is nearly impossible. A more viable approach, he noted, is holding high-quality assets and waiting for investment theses to gradually materialize.

Are AI-Generated Web Pages Even Usable? Tencent Launches an Evaluation That Automates Web Interaction for Testing
Beating AI Insight News Brief: Tencent Hunyuan has partnered with Tsinghua University and Peking University to launch IWC-Bench, a benchmark specifically designed to evaluate the real usability of AI-generated web pages. Most existing web generation assessments focus on code or screenshots. A page may look visually appealing and have functional code, but issues like unclickable buttons, failed form submissions, or errors when switching pages are hard to detect via static checks. IWC-Bench operates more like a real human acceptance test: it uses an agent to actually open web pages, click buttons, input content, switch pages, and verify which functions work in practice. It evaluates three aspects separately: page aesthetics, operational smoothness, and whether required user functions are implemented. The benchmark includes 369 real user needs and 5088 acceptance criteria, with 17 models generating a total of 6273 web applications. In an additional comparison of 197 manual reviews, IWC-Bench aligned with human choices in 168 cases, achieving an 85.3% consistency rate. The results confirm that a web page "looking good" is not equivalent to being "actually usable". GPT-5.6-Sol has the highest page aesthetics score but ranks only sixth in usability; for individual web pages, visual appeal is largely unrelated to usability, with a correlation coefficient of just 0.36 between the two.

Current funding rates on mainstream CEXs and DEXs show that the market's bearish momentum is easing.
According to data from Coinglass, after Bitcoin surged past $80,000 and entered a consolidation phase, funding rates on major centralized (CEX) and decentralized (DEX) exchanges indicate a weakening bearish sentiment in the market. Detailed funding rates are shown in the attached chart. BlockBeats Note: Funding rates are fees set by crypto trading platforms to maintain a balance between contract prices and their underlying asset prices, typically applicable to perpetual contracts. It is a fund exchange mechanism between long and short traders; trading platforms do not collect this fee. The funding rate adjusts the cost or return of holding a contract for traders, ensuring the contract price stays aligned with the underlying asset price. A funding rate of 0.01% is the benchmark. A rate above 0.01% signals broad bullish sentiment in the market, while a rate below 0.005% indicates widespread bearish sentiment.

Garrett Jin Holds $320 Million in ZEC Spot; $60 Million Short Position May Be Partial Hedge
A screenshot shared by Garrett Jin shows that on December 24 last year, he withdrew 68,080 ZEC (worth $29.7 million at the time) from Binance, and the same wallet withdrew another 134,000 ZEC ($58.6 million) a few minutes earlier. He subsequently shielded and then unshielded all 202,080 ZEC, and currently still holds the entire amount. At $1,580 per ZEC, these holdings are now worth $320 million, compared with $88.3 million at the time. Therefore, his short position of 38,000 ZEC ($60 million) on Hyperliquid, which currently shows an unrealized loss of $34.5 million, can be viewed as a partial hedge against his spot holdings.

Michael Saylor Rebuts Bitcoin Skeptics: Digital Capital Is the Killer App, the Orange Tie Stays
Investor Jason Calacanis posted a bearish take as Bitcoin returned to $80,000 on Friday, saying "the dead cat bounce continues" and questioning "what exactly is Bitcoin after 17 years." He argued that Bitcoin is neither good at transactions nor smart contracts, that the user experience is intimidating, and that it no longer captures the public imagination, calling it "boring." He said its advocates have gone from "pirates" to "suits wearing orange ties," and that if Bitcoin were going to achieve mass adoption and important use cases, "it would have happened by now." In response, Strategy founder Michael Saylor said Bitcoin is now a successful project with a $1.6 trillion market cap and the world's most valuable digital asset. Addressing Calacanis's claim that Bitcoin is no longer a hot topic at dinner parties, Saylor said "digital capital" is the killer app, and preserving wealth across generations is a grander goal than entertaining dinner guests, adding that "the orange tie stays" — orange being Bitcoin's signature color, signaling his commitment to the Bitcoin camp.

Michael Saylor: The Best Protection for Digital Assets Is Widespread Adoption, Not Accepting CLARITY Compromise Restrictions
Michael Saylor posted that for the digital asset industry, moving forward under a framework of supportive regulations from the SEC, CFTC, Treasury, and banking regulators is preferable to accepting the restrictions in the final CLARITY Act compromise. Saylor noted that the current government is willing to promote financial market modernization, and the industry should use the next two years to develop lower-cost, more accessible, and more useful financial products, deploy them broadly, and let users truly benefit, thereby building a strong base of public support. He criticized the September CLARITY compromise for restricting yield on payment stablecoins and imposing additional limits on the transfer of community bank deposits, arguing this would hinder competition and innovation. The GENIUS Act already addresses issuer interest payments, so there is no need to layer on more restrictions. Saylor emphasized that the industry should accelerate the rollout of products such as Bitcoin custody and lending, tokenized stocks, stablecoin payments, and integrated exchange services under the existing legal framework, so that more Americans benefit directly. Real protection comes from millions of satisfied users, not from waiting for legislation that may bring permanent restrictions.
North Korean Hacker Group Infiltrates Over 30,000 Devices via Fake Recruitment, Steals About $10.7 Million from Over 7,000 Crypto Wallets
A joint advisory issued by multiple agencies including the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Japan's National Police Agency (NPA) revealed that the North Korea-linked hacker group WaterPlum (also known as Contagious Interview) attacked global IT developers from December 2025 to July 2026 by posing as companies in the AI, cryptocurrency, or NFT sectors offering fake job positions. The attackers contacted job seekers on social media and recruitment platforms, luring them into downloading malicious files under the pretext of technical interviews or coding tests, successfully infecting over 30,000 devices across more than 100 countries and regions, and stealing data from over 7,000 crypto wallets. At least $10.71 million in related funds flowed into wallets controlled by the attackers.
MultiversX: Mainnet Hacked, Network Paused
MultiversX posted that it has confirmed an attacker attempted to exploit an atomicity issue at the mainnet virtual machine (VM) level, causing invalid state changes on-chain. To prevent further impact, the network has been paused. The engineering team has prepared a fix and is validating it in a shadow fork environment. If testing succeeds, the fix will be deployed to the mainnet in coordination with validator nodes, exchanges, and infrastructure partners. Meanwhile, the team is evaluating a targeted recovery plan aimed at preserving finalized transaction history and legitimate user state while only processing the invalid changes related to this incident. Users do not need to take any action and should simply wait for notification that normal operations have resumed. Officials remind users not to submit or rebroadcast transactions for the time being, and not to deposit or withdraw EGLD or ESDT through exchanges or cross-chain bridges. Earlier, MultiversX posted on X that the team was investigating a potential issue detected on the MultiversX mainnet.
Chengming Technology Sends Letter Holding Zhipu Accountable over "ZCode Unauthorized Upload of Company Data," Questions Its "Fixed" Claim
Taiyuan Chengming Technology Co., Ltd. sent a letter to Beijing Zhipu Huazhang Technology Co., Ltd. raising multiple demands regarding its ZCode client's alleged unauthorized upload of company data assets and trade secrets, and reserving the right to pursue legal accountability. Chengming Technology pointed out that although Zhipu had publicly apologized for "ZCode silently uploading user local repository data" and claimed it had been fixed, Chengming Technology's independent evidence collection found that the upload behavior was automatically triggered and occurred in batches, and was not merely "code snippets" but complete archived files containing the project's full source code, system architecture, version control history, database passwords, cloud service credentials, and employee personal information — far exceeding the collection scope stated in its Privacy Policy. In addition, although the client was updated to version 3.12.3 on September 16, upload behavior was still detected in the early morning of the day Zhipu publicly apologized, raising doubts about the actual effectiveness of the "fix." At the same time, the ZCode client's network requests point to a Singapore entity, while the service agreement's contracting entity is Beijing Zhipu Huazhang, and Chengming Technology demanded clarification on the responsible entity for this upload and whether the data was transferred abroad or stored overseas. Chengming Technology required Zhipu to respond in writing before October 10 and complete the following: immediately stop processing and thoroughly delete all uploaded data and related derivative data, caches, and backups; provide a complete list of processing details; explain where the data went, whether it was shared with third parties, whether it was used for model training, and whether cross-border transfer occurred; explain how encrypted private keys are stored and provide complete operation logs of data access, download, and export; explain the exact scope of the "destruction" mentioned in its earlier public response; provide proof of deletion completion; commit in writing not to upload again without authorization; provide personal information access, copying, and explanation in accordance with the law; designate a formal communication channel; explain the responsible entity and data export situation; and provide the original text of the published rectification statement. Zhipu has not publicly responded to the letter as of now. Related reading: Zhipu ZCode Code Upload Controversy Follow-up: Who Audits Agent Data Behavior?

Binance Security Advisory: iPhone users are advised to check if they have installed FomoPeek, an app that exploits an iOS vulnerability to gain full device privileges.
Binance Wallet Issues Security Alert: iPhone Users Urged to Check for FomoPeek App Installation Binance has released a security alert, noting awareness of a recent security incident disclosed by the crypto community. According to security firms including SlowMist, the third-party app FomoPeek (versions 1.1–1.2) contains malicious code that exploits iOS vulnerabilities to gain full device access, potentially stealing sensitive data stored on the device—including private keys, mnemonics, login credentials, chat logs, and files. This malware targets the device itself; if successfully executed, it could grant access to data from all apps on the affected device. Users are advised to verify two key points: 1. Are you using an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26.x or earlier? 2. Have you installed the FomoPeek app? If both apply, take these immediate steps: 1. Delete the FomoPeek app and do not reinstall it. 2. Update your iOS to the latest version. 3. For self-custody wallet users: Create a new wallet on a device that has never had the app installed, then transfer your assets to the new wallet address. 4. If you spot any unusual asset activity, preserve the affected device and relevant evidence, and contact customer support for further investigation. Binance also reminds all users to avoid installing apps from untrusted sources and keep their device software up to date.

Senior Iranian sources have revealed that Qatar and Pakistan, serving as mediators, have informed Iran that the United States is prepared to negotiate and strike a deal, and is serious about advancing this process. The sources added that Iran, for its part, is ready to resume implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding within days, provided the US returns to the memorandum and honors its terms. However, Iran is demanding tangible and credible guarantees to ensure it will not face further attacks. Once the US implements the substantive provisions of the memorandum—including halting hostilities, lifting the blockade against Iran, and allowing Iran to export oil—Iran will immediately launch negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions relief. Iran has reached a consensus with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, but stressed that "Iran will not reopen the strait as long as the blockade remains in place and no agreement is reached with the US," according to the sources. MultiversX has opened an investigation into a potential issue on its mainnet and said it expects to provide another update within 12 hours or sooner if the team reaches a clear finding.
Summary
MultiversX said at 10:00 a.m. UTC that it was investigating a potential mainnet issue. The team named user protection and secure, reliable network operation as its immediate priorities. A follow-up is expected within 12 hours or once investigators reach a clear conclusion. EGLD traded near $4.12 after moving between $3.99 and $4.20 during the day. MultiversX has begun reviewing the mainnet issue MultiversX said in a Sep. 19 X post that its team was examining a potential issue detected on the network’s live blockchain. The notice, published at about 10:00 a.m. UTC, described the matter as an active investigation and placed user protection at the top of the team’s response.
Keeping the disclosure narrow, the project said it was working to ensure that the network continued to operate securely and reliably. MultiversX did not classify the issue as an exploit, outage, or consensus failure, and the post did not report stolen funds, affected wallets, or a financial loss.
The team also did not tell users to pause transactions, withdraw funds, or take any other action in the initial notice. Without a technical assessment, the public statement supports only the description MultiversX used: a potential mainnet issue that remains under review.
A second update is due within 12 hours of the original notice, according to the project. MultiversX said it could publish sooner if investigators establish a clear conclusion, leaving the timing tied to either the stated window or the completion of its review.
Why the MultiversX mainnet matters to EGLD users MultiversX operates as a layer-1 blockchain, meaning its mainnet records live transfers and smart-contract activity rather than test transactions. EGLD serves as the network’s native asset and is used for transaction fees, staking, and governance, according to the project’s wallet information.
Any confirmed fault could have different effects depending on where it sits in the network stack. A problem involving block production would differ from an issue affecting an application, wallet interface, bridge, or third-party service, but MultiversX had not assigned the incident to any of those areas in its first post.
The distinction also matters for user assets. Tokens can remain recorded onchain even when an interface has trouble displaying balances, while a consensus or block-production problem can affect the processing and finality of new transactions. MultiversX has not said which, if either, applies to the issue under investigation.
The network uses a proof-of-stake design and a sharded architecture built to divide transaction processing across parts of the chain. Validators secure the protocol, while EGLD holders can delegate tokens for staking. An incident involving validators, shard coordination, or smart-contract execution would require a different response, which is why the promised technical update will carry more weight than the initial alert.
Earlier integrations expanded MultiversX access The investigation concerns a network that has spent years adding wallet, compliance, and application infrastructure. In July 2024, crypto.news reported that a SafePal wallet integration gave the provider’s users direct access to MultiversX through its hardware and mobile wallets, with a browser extension also planned.
At the time, SafePal served more than 13 million users across over 200 countries and supported more than 100 blockchains. The report said the integration covered EGLD access through both cold-storage hardware and a mobile interface, showing how third-party products can connect holders to the underlying mainnet.
Security and compliance tooling formed another part of that buildout. In May 2022, an AnChain.AI analytics integration added transaction monitoring intended to support fraud prevention and regulatory compliance across payments, decentralized finance, and other applications on the network, then known as Elrond.
An earlier MultiversX network explainer described EGLD as the protocol’s native coin and outlined its use of adaptive state sharding. Published in February 2022 under the former Elrond name, the report also covered the chain’s role in smart contracts and decentralized applications.
The project later adopted the MultiversX name, while EGLD remained the native token. Its functions tie the asset to network activity: users need it to pay fees, validators and delegators use it in staking, and holders use it in governance where the protocol makes that process available.
U.S. EGLD holders await technical details For U.S. holders using self-custody wallets, the operational question is whether the investigation affects their ability to submit or settle onchain transactions. MultiversX has not announced a restriction for American users, and its first notice did not identify any country-specific impact.
Trading EGLD on a centralized platform is also separate from moving the asset on its native chain. An exchange can continue matching internal buy and sell orders while changing deposit or withdrawal access if it detects network instability, although MultiversX’s post did not identify any exchange that had taken such a step.
American users who hold EGLD through a wallet remain exposed to movements in the token’s market value even when they do not initiate an onchain transfer. Users who stake directly or through a service also depend on the network’s validator system, though the project has not reported a staking interruption or instructed delegators to alter their positions.
No SEC, CFTC, Treasury, or Justice Department action was cited in the team’s notice. The investigation is therefore an operational matter led by MultiversX unless a later disclosure identifies conduct or losses that bring in a regulator or law-enforcement agency.
EGLD trades inside a $3.99 to $4.20 range EGLD traded near $4.12 during the reporting period, up about 1% from its previous close. Market data placed the token’s intraday low at $3.99 and its high at $4.20, a range of roughly 5.3% from bottom to top.
The available price data does not establish that the mainnet notice caused the move. In July 2024, EGLD rose 11% to $32.93 after MultiversX announced its SafePal integration, while a January 2024 selloff placed it among several tokens that fell between 17% and 18% during a period of weak market sentiment.
According to official announcements, to support the MultiversX (EGLD) network upgrade, Bithumb will suspend EGLD deposit and withdrawal services starting from August 6 at 18:00 KST. The upgrade is scheduled to take place at 2:00 KST on August 7, and deposit/withdrawal services will resume once the network stabilizes. Trading functions remain unaffected.

Head of Amazon Cloud Business: AI Business Has Enormous Potential Scale
Amazon (AMZN.O)’s cloud unit head said clients are shifting from using its services to train AI models to integrating these models into their own business processes, a trend driving surging demand for inference computing. Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon’s Cloud Computing Division, said on Monday: “We still see some companies using large training clusters, but as these models grow more popular and powerful, more firms are integrating this inference capability into their own workloads.” He noted that the potential of the AI business is “extremely huge,” adding that the company will continue to increase capital expenditure to meet growing demand. As the world’s largest provider of computing power and data rental services, Amazon said last week it projects capital expenditure will reach $220 billion in 2026, up from its prior forecast of $200 billion. The spending hike reflects rising prices of storage chips and other components required for data centers.

Some Coinbase users found themselves in a holding pattern on July 31 when the exchange flagged delays affecting MultiversX (EGLD) transactions. Sending and receiving EGLD tokens hit a bottleneck, leaving a subset of users temporarily unable to move their funds on and off the platform.
Buying, selling, and all fiat-related operations continued working just fine throughout the disruption.
What happened and how fast it got fixed Coinbase’s investigation into the issue kicked off around 15:47 PDT. The problem was narrowly scoped to EGLD network transactions, meaning only users trying to send or receive MultiversX tokens were affected.
The engineering team identified the root cause and deployed a fix within hours on the same day. Monitoring after the fix confirmed that normal operations had resumed, and the issue was marked as resolved.

No security breach was reported in connection with the incident. No funds were lost or compromised.
MultiversX in context For those unfamiliar, MultiversX (formerly Elrond) is a blockchain protocol built around a technology called adaptive state sharding, which splits its network into parallel processing lanes to handle more transactions simultaneously.
The protocol claims throughput of up to 15,000 transactions per second with roughly six-second latency and low fees. For comparison, Ethereum’s base layer typically handles around 15-30 TPS.
Throughout 2026, the MultiversX team has been rolling out security enhancements and network upgrades, including the introduction of “Guardians,” aimed at hardening its infrastructure. None of the publicly available information suggests that the Coinbase delay was caused by any issue on MultiversX’s own network. The problem appears to have been isolated to Coinbase’s integration layer.
MultiversX’s network continued operating normally during the window when Coinbase users were experiencing delays. No reports of congestion, downtime, or unusual activity surfaced from other platforms or on-chain monitoring tools in connection with this event.
What this means for EGLD holders and traders No adverse effects on EGLD’s trading liquidity were observed during the incident. Users could still buy and sell EGLD on Coinbase throughout the disruption. They just couldn’t move it off the exchange or receive inbound transfers for a few hours.
For anyone who was mid-transfer when the delays hit, it’s worth verifying that pending transactions have completed successfully now that operations are back to normal. Checking both the Coinbase transaction history and the MultiversX blockchain explorer for confirmation is the prudent move.

The trajectories of the crypto giants seem more uncertain than ever. Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to attract attention, between hopes and doubts. The former is still perceived as a store of value, but its technical resistances slow down enthusiasm. The latter, a driver of innovations and uses, attracts institutions more. Yet, neither clearly dominates. The question remains open: which of these pillars will truly emerge victorious from this new wave of attention and capital?
In brief Bitcoin draws attention due to its scarcity, monetary role, and a record illiquid supply of 14.3 M BTC. Ethereum attracts institutions thanks to staking, DeFi, and its innovative uses. Dogecoin prepares the first US DOGE ETF, supported by an active community. Tether and MicroStrategy strengthen their institutional weight, one via gold, the other via the S&P 500. Bitcoin dominates the buzz, Ethereum gains institutions’ trust In the buzz of crypto conversations, bitcoin maintains a central place even as the market has fallen into a fear zone. Santiment notes it sparks intense debates about its investment potential, market behavior, adoption stages, and even its comparison to gold. The focus is on its scarcity, utility, and role as a digital monetary network. Discussions range from long-term holding strategies to timing advice, highlighting growing involvement from governments and institutions.
Fundamental signals confirm ongoing interest in bitcoin. Illiquid supply has reached a record 14.3 million BTC, and more than 70% of coins are stored in dormant wallets, evidencing strong long-term investor confidence.
Ethereum is not left behind. Discussions highlight its role in flash tokens and its utility in staking, gaming, and DeFi. Institutions and large wallets accumulate quietly, reinforcing the idea that ETH is becoming the preferred asset for more diversified institutional exposure.
While bitcoin still attracts traders by its aura and volatility, ether weaves another narrative: that of a structural tool of the ecosystem.
Dogecoin, Tether and MicroStrategy blur the crypto market cards The battle is not only between BTC and ETH. Dogecoin bursts onto the scene with a historic project: launching the first US DOGE ETF. According to Santiment, Dogecoin grabs attention for several reasons. The announcement of the upcoming launch of the first DOGE ETF in the US sparked keen interest.
Simultaneously, the company Thumzup, supported by Trump, is expanding mining operations with 3,500 additional rigs. The Dogecoin price holds around 0.21 dollars, supported by an active community and growing institutional interest.
Key figures to remember 14.3 million BTC now illiquid; Over 70% of bitcoins stored without notable activity; Dogecoin targets its first ETF in the United States; Tether holds over 8.7 billion dollars worth of gold. Meanwhile, MicroStrategy remains at the heart of debates with its potential inclusion in the S&P 500 index. This would make the company an unprecedented institutional exposure lever to BTC. Finally, Tether surprises by diversifying its empire. With more than 8.7 billion dollars invested in gold and expansion into refining and trading, the stablecoin giant asserts itself as a strategic player far beyond its initial role.
Meanwhile, MultiversX faces concerns about dilution of its supply and migration of projects to SUI, despite hopes placed in xPortal and xMoney.
Forecasts diverge as much as they multiply. Some predict a seven-figure bitcoin, others a five-figure Ethereum. But others speak instead of an imminent collapse, fueling the idea that unanimity does not exist among financial analysts. The crypto market feeds as much on dreams of grandeur as on fears of a crash.

Benefits and Considerations for Users and Merchants Merchants benefit from access to new capital and DeFi liquidity, improving financial flexibility.
Consequently, businesses can scale efficiently across multiple blockchain networks. Users gain staking, loyalty rewards, governance, and continued cashback in EGLD while exploring Sui utilities.
However, managing multiple ecosystems introduces complexity and potential regulatory uncertainty.
Adoption depends on merchant and user willingness to transition to new tools. Despite these risks, stronger liquidity and cross-chain exposure support long-term sustainability and platform resilience.
xMoney emphasized that this expansion does not replace MultiversX but complements its ecosystem. EGLD rewards, merchant solutions, and xPortal partnerships remain active. Hence, global expansion balances growth with continued support for the original community
Conversations across the crypto space are circling back to blue-chip tokens, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin taking the spotlight. Data from on-chain analytics platform Santiment shows that top market cap cryptocurrencies are dominating the surge in social chatter, with discussions ranging from institutional adoption and ETF speculation to technical barriers and ecosystem growth. Alongside them, Strategy, Tether, and MultiversX are also attracting strong attention.
Bitcoin And Ethereum Dominating Attention Despite price resistance at $112,000 throughout last week, Bitcoin is still the most closely watched cryptocurrency by analysts and investors. According to on-chain analytics platform Santiment, Bitcoin is currently dominating among crypto investors thanks to extensive discussions about its long-term role as digital gold, a monetary network, and a hedge against inflation. Conversations focus heavily on its scarcity, institutional demand, and the importance of self-custody. Traders are also discussing Bitcoin’s liquidity in flash crypto offers that allow instant trading and spending across multiple platforms.
Ethereum is trending, with mentions also tied to its role in flash tokens and its utility across wallets and decentralized platforms. ETH discussions are based on its transferability and use in trading, staking, and gaming, while institutions continue to accumulate large volumes. However, the Ethereum price is also facing technical struggles in breaking above $4,500, having been rejected at $4,480 multiple times in the past seven days.
BTCUSD currently trading at $111,170. Chart: TradingView Strategy And Dogecoin Also Generate Social Buzz Strategy’s and its MicroStrategy ($MSTR) stock are also hot topics due to the company’s massive Bitcoin reserves and its reputation as a leveraged proxy for BTC exposure. Particularly, market chatter has picked up around its potential inclusion in the S&P 500, which could cause institutional buying and fund inflows. At the same time, discussions show that investors are debating whether MSTR shares or Bitcoin ETFs provide better exposure.
Unsurprisingly, the word “Dogecoin” is in the limelight due to multiple developments last week. Most of Dogecoin’s mentions are based on the upcoming Rex-Osprey Dogecoin ETF, which could become a historic first for Dogecoin ETFs in the US financial market. Furthermore, Trump-backed company Thumzup is expanding Dogecoin mining operations by adding 3,500 rigs. Despite choppy price action last week, Dogecoin managed to close above $0.21.
Tether ($USDT) also saw huge mentions last week after the company announced deeper investments into gold, with its reserves now exceeding $8.7 billion. The company aims to expand into mining, refining, and trading, with its CEO calling gold a natural bitcoin. Additionally, new token listings related to Tether are appearing on platforms like BitMart.
MultiversX ($EGLD), meanwhile, is facing a different kind of attention. Social discussions highlight concerns about dilution of its supply and the migration of projects to other chains like SUI, raising doubts about long-term use cases. However, there’s optimism on projects such as xPortal and xMoney, with hopes that buyback mechanisms and upcoming launches could bolster value.
