Crypto Market Wrap: Tron Flips Stellar to Regain Top Ten Spot
AE Aeternity ATOM Cosmos BCH Bitcoin Cash BTC Bitcoin EOS EOS ETH Ethereum KCS KuCoin Shares LTC Litecoin MAID MaidSafeToken MIOTA IOTA NEO NEO XLM Stellar Lumens XMR Monero XRP Ripple
CoinGecko News

Crypto markets hit another new 2019 high yesterday; Bitcoin holding gains, TRX moving up ETH, XRP, LTC, BCH and EOS falling back.  Market Wrap It has been a wonderful weekend for crypto markets, the best so far this year. Bitcoin’s push through five figures has lifted total market capitalization to a one year high of over $325 billion. Monday morning markets remain buoyant as BTC has held on to most of its gains yet again.

The Bitcoin parabola has continued as it topped out at $11,250 during Sunday trading. It was the second time over the weekend that BTC broke above $11k but it could push no further and fell back twice. Bitcoin is currently starting to consolidate around the $10,750 level during Asian trading today. Daily volume peaked at $30 billion over the weekend which pushed market cap to $200 billion.

Ethereum also got a lift from its big brother as it finally broke above the $300 barrier. ETH hit a top of $320 yesterday before pulling back a couple of percent today to settle at around $305. Gains were solely on the back of Bitcoin as ETH remains slow to recover in comparison.

Altcoin Outlook The crypto top ten is starting to correct during Monday trading across Asia. Most altcoins are shedding their weekend gains with XRP, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and EOS dropping 4 percent each. Only Tron has made a gain today with 4 percent added to reach $0.038. Justin Sun did not miss the opportunity to point out that TRX has flipped Stellar for a top ten slot as market cap topped $2.5 billion:

— H.E. Justin Sun 👨‍🚀 🌞 (@justinsuntron) June 24, 2019

The top twenty is all red today as altcoins drop gains and remain weak. Cosmos and IOTA have dumped over 4 percent while Stellar and NEO are close behind. Monero and LEO have remained flat on the day.

FOMO: Lambda Launches Today’s crypto top one hundred pump is going to LAMB which has surged by 48 percent to reach an all-time high of $0.17. The Chinese decentralized data storage token has recently been listed on Bittrex and OKEx which is likely to be driving momentum.

Aeternity is also spiking at the moment with a 13 percent boost and Hedge Trade is the third altcoin with a double digit gain. Insight Chain is getting dumped hard as it falls to the bottom of the pile losing 30 percent. MaidSafeCoin and KuCoin Shares are also in pain with 10 percent dropped a piece.

Total market cap 24 hours. Coinmarketcap.com Total crypto market capitalization hit a one year high of $336 billion yesterday. Bitcoin’s push above $11k has contributed to most of it and altcoins dumping today has dropped total cap back to $324 billion. Daily volume peaked at almost $100 billion on Sunday but has since cooled off as markets correct slightly.

Market Commentary: Bitcoin Goes To Cuba, As Cosmos And Dash Rise
ATOM Cosmos BNB BNB BTC Bitcoin DASH Dash MAID MaidSafeToken ZEC Zcash
CoinGecko News
Original source text
The end of the week brings the market back to a familiar situation. Bitcoin remains largely uneventful, gaining only $100 on yesterday’s price. Top altcoins appear to be on the same boat with the exception of ATOM and DASH, which gained 23.67% and 10.67% respectively.

Binance Coin has recovered from yesterday’s hiccup, while MaidSafeCoin has now posted a new ATH since July.

Cryptocurrency market dynamics since September 12. Source: Coin360 As the world focuses on Venezuela, Bitcoin is making inroads in another Latin American country: Cuba.

According to a report by Reuters, Cubans are appreciating crypto’s borderless nature. The country has been subjected to a decades-long embargo from the U.S., which completely disconnected it from international finance and made it impossible to obtain a simple debit or credit card.

Cryptocurrency’s potential is exemplified by Jason Sanchez, who is reported to have used bitcoin to purchase spare parts for his cellphone repair shop from an online store in China. Alex Sobrino, the founder of Telegram channel CubaCripto, provided more details on crypto adoption in the country. “We are using cryptocurrencies to top up our cellphones, to make purchases online, and there are even people reserving hotel rooms with (it),” he explained, estimating that there are 10,000 users active users in Cuba.

Still, crypto operates in an opaque grey field in Cuba. The central bank of the country has stated in July that it would explore the potential of crypto payments. But just like Iran, it might decide that a centrally-controlled digital currency could make for a better option – even though the pioneering Petro has failed to achieve its goals.

Cosmos recovers amid continuous software releases The ATOM token has had a strong performance this week. After posting its ATL on September 5, it has rebounded by 58% in the past seven days – most of it due to today’s 23% gain.

Excitement is building for the upcoming release of IBC, the Inter Blockchain Communication protocol. The third Release Candidate version of its Interchain Standards was published a few days ago. This will be an important resource for developers on IBC, paving the way for additional attention by the community. The project has also announced Game Of Zones, a gamified network test for the system.

What Games of Stakes was for Cosmos Hub, Game of Zones is for IBC 🤺

Are you ready for 3 weeks of back-to-back gaming? 🛠️

📌 Week 1: Test connections between zones
📌 Week 2: Test token transfers
📌 Week 3: Adversarial zones

🔜 Stay tuned for updates!

— Cosmos – The Interchain ⚛️ (@cosmos) September 12, 2019

Excitement around the fundamental drivers, in addition to a fertile technical picture, are likely to have contributed to ATOM’s cosmic performance this week.

Coinbase Pro Announces DASH listing The markets have reacted to yet another Coinbase announcement. Trading is set to start on Monday, after a 12 hour period in which only deposits will be open. The coin will only be available on Coinbase Pro, previously called GDAX.

The announcement is responsible for almost the entirety of DASH gains this week, which are currently set at 12%. It’s worth noting that Dash will not be available for New York and UK-based traders, likely due to concerns about its privacy features, which led to Zcash trading restrictions last month.

MaidSafe price sees steady rise MaidSafeCoin, the token of the decentralized internet project Safe Network, has seen a steady rise in the last few weeks.

MaidSafeCoin price chart by CoinMarketCap What’s noteworthy about the project is that it had its ICO back in 2014. While the development journey was expected to be quite long, the fact that it is active after all these years is giving hope to its traders. Many other project tokens have simply flatlined since 2018.

The excitement is likely coming from MaidSafe reaching its Phase 1 milestone at the beginning of the month. Timely development updates and meaningful activity have also compounded the initial effect.

Last week we were beyond delighted to announce that we released real Vaults and therefore, we've landed at the Phase 1 milestone!

But what are Vaults, what's Phase 1, and why is this such big news? https://t.co/ja1tW8mmxk

Bitcoin Commentary By Nathan Batchelor Bitcoin is starting to push lower as we head into the U.S trading session, after the cryptocurrency ran into a wall of technical selling above the $10,400 level. Yesterday I highlighted this key technical area as the likely short-term bullish target.

The $10,000 level is now a possible short-term bearish target if we continue to see the BTC / USD pair losing upside momentum over the weekend.

The one-hour time chart clearly shows that a bullish falling wedge breakout occurred yesterday, once price moved above the $10,150 level. We are likely to see a re-test of the triangle breakout if we continue to hold below the $10,400 level; technical analysis shows that key trendline resistance from the triangle pattern is now located at the $10,000 level.

The $10,600 level still remains the overall short-term bullish target, should a more bullish scenario happen today or even over the weekend. A test towards the current monthly trading high is even possible if the BTC / USD pair finds renewed technical buying interest above the $10,600 level.

Via TradingView The Money Flow Index on both the one-hour and daily time frame has turned bullish, while the Relative Strength Indicator on the daily time frame has risen to its highest level since September 6th. The improvement in these indicators is definitely a positive sign Bitcoin.

*The recent bullish wedge breakout on the one-hour time frame remains valid while the BTC/USD pair trades above the $10,000 level.*

SENTIMENT

Intraday bullish sentiment for Bitcoin has notably increased from yesterday, to 60.00%, according to the latest data from TheTIE.io. Long-term sentiment for the cryptocurrency is largely unchanged, at 66.50 % positive.

UPSIDE POTENTIAL

If the recent bullish moves continue, we should then expect the $10,600 level to be a major area of interest for BTC / USD buyers.

The $10,960 level will be the next technical region for bulls to break, with the $11,700 and $12,400 levels then becoming the next targets for further breakouts.

DOWNSIDE POTENTIAL

The $10,120 and $10,000 levels are the main support areas to watch today, with the $9,876 level the most important technical area to watch below.

We should also consider the weekly price close. If BTC / USD bulls fails to close the weekly candle above the $10,600 level we should expect downside pressure to resume next week.

A full version of Nathan Batchelor’s Daily Bitcoin Commentary, together with his calls, is available to SIMETRI Research subscribers earlier in the day.

Hack VC-Backed Nillion to Shut Down Its Chain on Cosmos, Shift Focus to Ethereum
ATOM Cosmos ETH Ethereum
CoinGecko News
Original source text
The migration comes just months after Cosmos announced it’s stepping back from efforts to turn the Cosmos Hub into a smart contract platform as TVL declines.

NilChain, a privacy-focused blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK by Nillion, is winding down operations on Cosmos as part of broader shifts across the interoperability-focused ecosystem.

In an X announcement on Feb. 17, the team said the network will halt operations on March 23, urging holders of the NIL token to migrate their assets to Ethereum before the shutdown.

NilChain was designed as a network for secure computation. But the chain has seemingly not been able to reach broad usage inside the Cosmos ecosystem.

Leaving Cosmos, however, doesn’t mark an end to Nillion itself, as the company plans to continue operating on Ethereum. Amid the news, nilChain’s native token NIL briefly jumped over 10% on the day to $0.06 and is currently trading around $0.053, per data from CoinGecko.

It remains unclear why the team decided to migrate away from Cosmos. The Nillion team declined to comment on the record by press time.

NilChain may not be widely known compared with larger Layer 1 or Layer 2 networks, but Nillion has raised sizable funding. In December 2022, the company closed a roughly $20 million seed round led by Distributed Global, with participation from GSR Markets and HashKey.

It raised another $25 million in October 2024 in a round led by Hack VC, with backing from the Arbitrum Foundation, Worldcoin, Sei, HashKey Capital, and Animoca Brands.

Exodus from CosmosThe move comes as Cosmos itself reassesses its direction. In July 2025, the Cosmos Hub scrapped plans to add native smart contract support, citing high costs and weak developer demand. Teams that had planned to deploy applications on the Hub were encouraged to build on other Cosmos-based chains instead.

That shift forced a reset for many teams and coincided with a wave of departures. Since mid-2025, several projects have announced exits or wind-downs across the Cosmos ecosystem.

The stablecoin-focused project Noble said earlier in January of this year it would leave Cosmos to launch its own EVM-compatible L1, saying the team wants to “meet users and developers where they already are.” Others have taken different paths with chains like Pryzm and Quasar announcing shutdowns or significant changes.

Some have publicly said they are leaving Cosmos after years of struggling with liquidity, user distribution, and developer traction following the collapse of Terra in 2022. Others, including infrastructure providers, argue the ecosystem still makes sense for teams focused on interoperability rather than consumer DeFi.

TVL, app revenue and fees on Cosmos Hub. Source: DefiLlamaThe Cosmos Hub itself has also seen declining activity. Data from DefiLlama shows total value locked on the network falling from about $2.65 million to roughly $131,000 earlier this month, the lowest level on record.

Network fees have also dropped sharply. By January, fees reached an all-time low of around $218,000, with only four of the 11 protocols deployed on the Cosmos Hub generating any revenue.

ATOM, the native token of Cosmos Hub, is down about 4% over the past 24 hours, though it rallied over 18% in the past week, per CoinGecko.

Cosmos Hub Price Forecast: ATOM rebounds slightly, bearish outlook remains intact
ATOM Cosmos
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Cosmos Hub (ATOM) price rebounds, trading above $2.05 at the time of writing on Wednesday, after undergoing a sharp correction since last week. Weakening on-chain and derivatives data support a bearish outlook, while technical analysis remains unfavorable.

ATOM selling pressure persistsSantiment’s Social Dominance metric for Cosmos Hub supports a bearish outlook. The index measures the share of ATOM-related discussions across the cryptocurrency media. It has been in a downward trend since mid-January, falling again in February to 0.416% on Wednesday. This fall indicates fading market interest and weakening sentiment among ATOM investors.

ATOM Social Dominance chart. Source: SantimentOn the derivatives side, ATOM’s negative funding rates further project bearish sentiment. The metric turns negative on Wednesday and stands at -0.0147%, nearing levels seen on Sunday, when ATOM prices dropped sharply the next day. The negative ratio suggests that shorts are paying longs, suggesting bearish sentiment toward Cosmos Hub.

Cosmos Hub funding rates chart. Source: CoinglassIn addition, ATOM’s long-to-short ratio stood at 0.92 on Wednesday and has been above 1 only once this month, signaling that traders are reluctant to add long positions. This ratio below 1 indicates bearish sentiment as traders are betting on the Cosmos Hub price to fall.

ATOM long-to-short ratio chart. Source: CoinglassCosmos Hub Price Forecast: ATOM bears cap recoveryATOM is trading at $2.05 as of writing on Wednesday. The near-term tone turns cautiously bullish after the rebound from sub-$2.00 levels, though price still trades well below the 50- and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), which are clustered above $2.19 and $2.39 and cap the broader trend.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 44 recovers from oversold territory and points higher, hinting at improving but not yet dominant buying pressure. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line has slipped marginally below the signal line and back toward the zero mark, while the histogram has contracted, tempering upside conviction and suggesting an emerging consolidation phase after the recent bounce.

Immediate support aligns at the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement of the $1.65–$2.70 advance at $2.05, where the current price is attempting to stabilize, followed by stronger support at the prior horizontal floor around $1.83.

A sustained hold above $2.05 would keep the corrective recovery in play and open the way toward initial resistance at the 50% retracement at $2.17, with the 61.8% retracement at $2.29 next and the horizontal resistance at $2.57 guarding the upper boundary of the range.

On the downside, a daily close below $2.05 would expose the 23.6% retracement at $1.90 and shift the focus back to the lower support band near $1.83.

Cosmos Hub Price Forecast: ATOM under pressure as bearish momentum accelerates
ATOM Cosmos
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Cosmos Hub (ATOM) steadies near $1.82 at the time of writing on Monday, following a 20% decline the previous week. Weakening on-chain and derivatives data support a bearish outlook, while technical analysis remains unfavorable. In addition, risk-off sentiment persists, as the escalating military aggression in the Middle East over the weekend continues to weigh on the crypto market.

On-chain and derivatives data show bearish biasDefiLlama data shows that Cosmos Hub’s Total Value Locked (TVL) drops to $138,370 on Monday, and has been steadily declining since mid-January. Falling TVL signals weakening activity and waning user engagement in ATOM’s ecosystem, implying that fewer participants are depositing or interacting with ATOM-based protocols, which doesn’t bode well for its price.

ATOM TVL chart. Source: DefiLlamaDerivatives data for Cosmos Hub also support a bearish outlook. Coinglass’s OI-Weighted Funding Rate data shows that the number of traders betting that the price of ATOM will slide further is higher than those anticipating a price increase. The metric flipped to a negative rate on Thursday and stands at -0.127% on Monday, indicating shorts are paying longs and suggesting bearish sentiment toward ATOM.

Cosmos Hub funding rates chart. Source: CoinglassCosmos Hub Price Forecast: Bears in control of the momentumCosmos Hub is trading at $1.82 as of Monday. The near-term bias stays mildly bearish, as price holds below the 50- and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), which continue to trend lower and cap recovery attempts. ATOM also trades under the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement at $1.90, measured from $2.69 (January 14 high) to $1.65 (February 6 low), underscoring a failed attempt to sustain above this initial corrective resistance on Sunday.

Momentum remains weak, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart at 36, indicating subdued buying interest, and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) declining below its signal line and the zero mark, signaling persistent downside pressure.

Immediate resistance at $1.83 is reinforced by the abovementioned 23.6% Fibonacci retracement at $1.90, and a daily close above this band would be needed to ease selling pressure and open the way toward the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement at $2.05 and the 50-day EMA near $2.12.

On the downside, the $1.80 area acts as the first line of support ahead of the recent $1.65 swing low, where previous demand emerged.

A break below $1.65 would extend the dominant downtrend and expose lower levels, while only a sustained move back above $2.05 would start to neutralize the current bearish tone.

DA Davidson Raises Micron’s Price Target to $2,000, Retains Buy Rating

U.S. investment bank DA Davidson released a research note stating that Micron Technology has entered a new phase with one of the best performance visibility in the semiconductor industry, a stark contrast to its past standing in the sector. Driven by another quarter of results that handily exceeded expectations and positive forward guidance, Micron’s stock price surged sharply. These signals indicate that the current memory chip boom cycle is far from over. While the company is ramping up capacity investments (with capital expenditure (CAPEX) projected to hit $10 billion in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, which will bring additional supply), management expects the memory market to remain tight on supply and demand at least through 2027. Against this backdrop, DA Davidson reiterated its "Buy" rating on Micron and raised its price target from $1,500 to $2,000, equivalent to a 20x price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio based on the company’s 2026 calendar year expected earnings per share (EPS).

Morgan Stanley raises Micron's price target to $1,200, maintains 'Overweight' rating.

Morgan Stanley released a report raising Micron Technology (MU.O)’s price target from $1,050 to $1,200, while maintaining an "Overweight" rating. The investment bank lifted its fiscal 2027 earnings per share (EPS) forecast for the chipmaker by roughly 40% to $168, and upgraded its free cash flow (FCF) projection from $104 billion to $140 billion. Aligning with Micron’s management, the bank holds that AI will push DRAM demand to consistently outpace supply significantly after 2027. Micron’s last fiscal quarter results matched this trend, with both its quarterly performance and outlook showing notable upside potential.

CBRS trades below IPO price post-earnings: Erases all gains six weeks after listing, two smart money firms net $5.8 million from first-day IPO shorts.

According to Hyperinsight monitoring, Cerebras (CBRS), the AI chip firm previously dubbed "Nvidia’s strongest challenger", saw its stock price fall in stages after reporting its first quarterly results since going public, as negative guidance overshadowed better-than-expected performance. The stock has dropped roughly 22% since the earnings release and officially broke below its IPO price today. On-chain whales are overall bearish. CBRS trades at $184 on the Hyperliquid platform, down 7.7% in 24 hours. Large-scale short positions (million-dollar level) total around $11.62 million, 2.39 times the long positions ($4.87 million). Two major short positions were placed precisely at high levels as early as the IPO day or even before the IPO: - Whale 0xe0ff: Shorted at $284.51 on May 14 with a 3x leveraged position of $6.13 million, generating an unrealized profit of $3.24 million (+104%); - Whale 0x9996: Shorted at $275.92 on May 11 with a 5x leveraged position of $5.48 million, generating an unrealized profit of $2.64 million (+162%). It is learned that both addresses currently hold short positions in both CBRS and SPCX, and have recorded substantial unrealized profits, preferring to place short positions at high levels before or on the day of major stock listings. With the realization of negative earnings news in this round, the combined unrealized profit of the two positions is around $5.88 million. Currently, the average entry price of CBRS short whales is around $275, and the current price is over 30% lower than that. The nearest short liquidation line is at $200.13, about 7% away from the current price.

PANews reported on April 3rd that, according to an official announcement, the Cosmos ecosystem wallet Leap Wallet and its associated products, including Compass Wallet, Leap WebApp, and Swapfast, will be officially shut down on May 28, 2026. Users must complete asset migration before this date. Leap Wallet is a non-custodial wallet; user assets are stored on the blockchain and can be accessed again by restoring the mnemonic phrase and importing into other compatible wallets such as Keplr, MetaMask, Phantom, or Rabby. If users have delegated ATOM to Leap's Cosmos Hub validators, they should re-delegate to other validators to continue earning staking rewards.

Leap Wallet to Shut Down All Products on May 28, 2026
ATOM Cosmos
CoinGecko News
Original source text
TLDR: Leap Wallet will sunset all products, including extensions and mobile apps, on May 28, 2026, across iOS and Android. Users can migrate safely using their recovery phrase, as Leap is non-custodial and assets remain on the blockchain at all times. ATOM delegators staking with Leap’s Cosmos Hub validator must redelegate early due to network unbonding period delays. After the May 28 deadline, all installed Leap apps will stop functioning, though fund recovery via recovery phrase remains fully possible. Leap Wallet has officially announced that it will discontinue all its products on May 28, 2026. The crypto wallet provider has been active since 2022, serving users across more than 100 blockchain networks.

The shutdown covers extensions, mobile apps, and several associated services. Users are advised to begin migrating their assets to other supported wallets ahead of the deadline.

All core wallet functions will remain available until that date to allow a smooth transition.

Products Scheduled for Discontinuation After the May Deadline The shutdown affects a broad range of products tied to the Leap ecosystem. These include Leap Wallet browser extensions and mobile versions on iOS and Android.

Compass Wallet, the Leap WebApp, and the Swapfast service are also on the list. Leap Cosmos Hub Validator and Leap Cosmos Snaps will be discontinued as well.

The team behind Leap shared the news through an official tweet. They noted the wallet was launched to change what crypto wallet experiences could offer users.

Since launch, it expanded to support over 100 chains across multiple ecosystems. The post also reflected the care and responsibility the team felt toward its user base.

In the announcement tweet, the team wrote that the decision to shut down was not made lightly. They added that they continue to believe in the long-term future of the crypto space.

Leap Wallet: Sunset Notice

After careful consideration, we've made the decision to sunset Leap Wallet and its associated products.

The products will be sunset on 28th May, 2026, and all users should complete their migration before then.

We started Leap in 2022 to redefine what…

— Leap Wallet | Sunset on 28th May (@leap_wallet) April 2, 2026

They also extended appreciation to partners and users who supported the product over the years. The message was direct, measured, and absent of any bitterness or blame.

Until May 28, 2026, all listed products will retain their existing core functionality. Users can still view balances, send tokens, and manage their staking positions.

Exporting recovery phrases and private keys will also remain available throughout this period. No core feature will be removed before the official sunset date arrives.

What Users Must Do Before the Shutdown Date Users holding assets in Leap Wallet are encouraged to move to another wallet provider. The team recommended Keplr, MetaMask, Phantom, and Rabby as compatible alternatives.

Since Leap is a non-custodial wallet, assets are held on the blockchain and not within the app. This means migration does not require any complex transfer of funds between addresses.

Any user with a recovery phrase can import it directly into another supported wallet. That process will restore all addresses and balances automatically across compatible chains.

No manual transfers are necessary for this to work correctly. Starting early reduces the risk of delays or missed steps before the deadline.

Those who delegated ATOM to Leap’s Cosmos Hub validator must also take a separate action. They need to redelegate to another validator to keep earning staking rewards.

Network unbonding periods can stretch over several days, so acting promptly matters. A detailed migration guide with full instructions is available at leapwallet.io.

After May 28, 2026, all Leap products will stop functioning, including already-installed apps. Users who miss the deadline can still recover their funds using their recovery phrase.

Importing it into any compatible wallet will restore full access to holdings. Migration support remains available at [email protected] until the shutdown date.

Cosmos Hub (ATOM) price extends its rally, trading above $2.10 at the time of writing on Wednesday, up over 8% so far this week. On-chain data shows a bullish bias, with ATOM’s trading volume surging to a three-month high. In addition, constructive technical analysis and growing optimism about Injective (INJ) and Cosmos Hub partnerships are boosting ATOM’s upside momentum.

Trading volume hits multi-month highsThe Cosmos Hub ecosystem’s trading volume (the aggregate trading volume generated by all exchange applications on the chain) reached $120.74 million on Wednesday, the highest level not seen since early February. This volume rise indicates a surge in traders’ interest and liquidity in ATOM, boosting its bullish outlook.

ATOM trading volume chart. Source: SantimentIn addition, CryptoQuant summary data suggests a neutral to slightly bullish outlook for ATOM. Spot markets show buy-side dominance, with mostly neutral conditions across other metrics, suggesting a potential upside move.

Cosmos Hub partners with InjectiveOn Monday, Cosmos Hub announced on its official X account that USDC, a stablecoin from Injective, will be available across its ecosystem soon.

“This integration solidifies long-term USDC support in the ecosystem via Injective for at least 4 years. The integration will be rolled out over the coming months,” said the Cosmos Hub X post.

Additionally, migration support will begin with the dYdX rollout, while Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) integration will enable one-signature transfers. The protocol fees generated from these transactions will also be used to buy back ATOM tokens programmatically.

This announcement is bullish for Cosmos Hub and its native token ATOM in the long term, as it strengthens liquidity, improves cross-chain interoperability, and introduces a potential long-term demand driver through the token buyback mechanism. In the short term, ATOM’s price has been rallying, gaining over 8% so far this week.

Cosmos Hub Price Forecast: ATOM bull aiming for the $2.34 markATOM price trades at $2.15 on Wednesday, up over 8% so far this week. ATOM holds above the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) at $1.903 and $1.97, keeping the near-term structure tilted higher as it pushes further away from the broken descending trend line, whose break price is near $1.74.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart has surged into overbought territory around 75, and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line remains above zero with a positive spread versus its signal line, suggesting strong but potentially stretched bullish momentum as price approaches higher structural caps.

On the topside, initial resistance emerges at the 200-day EMA around $2.34, followed by the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement at roughly $2.39; a sustained break above this cluster would expose the 50% retracement near $2.63 and the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level around $2.88.

On the downside, the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement at $2.09 acts as immediate support ahead of the 100-day EMA at $1.97 and the 50-day EMA near $1.90, with a more solid horizontal floor seen around $1.84; losing these layers would risk a deeper pullback toward the former trendline break area at $1.75 and the lower horizontal support near $1.65.

PANews, June 20 – The privacy-focused public chain project Namada has officially issued a statement confirming that a vulnerability exploit incident occurred. The project team has launched a comprehensive investigation and is coordinating with multiple security agencies to handle the situation.

The official statement indicated that if the operator behind this incident is a white-hat hacker, they are welcome to proactively contact the project team, cooperate in disclosing the vulnerability details, and work together on vulnerability remediation and risk mitigation.

On-chain monitoring data shows that ATOM assets related to this attack were transferred via an IBC cross-chain channel to an address on Cosmos Hub. The address received 228,517 ATOM on June 18, and the funds were fully transferred out within a few hours through multiple IBC transfer operations, leaving only a small balance in the wallet.

As of now, Namada has not yet publicly disclosed the cause of the vulnerability, the attack execution path, or the specific amount of asset losses caused by this attack. All related investigation efforts are still ongoing, and the complete investigation conclusions will be disclosed subsequently.

CCID Still Loves EOS, NANO Surges Through The Rankings
ATOM Cosmos BTC Bitcoin BTS BitShares EOS EOS ETH Ethereum LSK Lisk ONT Ontology QTUM Qtum TRX Tron XNO Nano
CoinGecko News
Original source text
China’s Center for Information Industry Developed Research Institute’s monthly crypto rankings have always been viewed as an oddity, given that the CCID is controlled by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in a country notoriously scathing toward cryptocurrency.

But since President Xi Jinping’s recent address at the Politburo claiming that “We must take blockchain as an important breakthrough for independent innovation of core technologies. Clarify the main directions, increase investment, focus on a number of key technologies, and accelerate the development of blockchain and industrial innovation,” the rankings potentially warrant more respect.

With the Chinese government announcing its intention to be at the epicenter of blockchain technology development, cryptocurrency markets went into overdrive, with Bitcoin seeing over 30 percent gains within ten hours.

Whether the Chinese government actually warms to the decentralized cryptocurrencies its citizens have long been enamored of remains to be seen. In the meantime, the news was widely viewed as a positive sign for the markets.

Are the CCID Research Institute Rankings Suddenly Relevant Again? The newfound enthusiasm for blockchain in the CCP, also indicated in recent news of a pending state-run digital currency, drags the CCID’s rankings back into view. Its latest edition has just been released.

Assessed in terms of technology, applicability (capability of being applied to solve problems), and creativity (how unique the blockchain is in its approach to solving problems), EOS has consistently ranked first since the organization began publishing its rankings in May of 2018.

The 14th index shows some notable movements since its last report. TRON overtook Ethereum in second place, though only by the skin of its teeth. Lisk is up seven places to seventh and Qtum surged ten places to eighth.

Ontology is down seven places to fourteenth and Cosmos fell twelve places, from tenth to 22nd. GXChain fell precipitously, falling out of the top five in favor of BitShares. The top five now reads EOS, TRON, Ethereum, NULS, BitShares.

NANO on the Rise NANO enjoyed a rise from 22 to 13, finding a place back in the spotlight it lost during the early 2018 BitGrail debacle, from which it has since struggled to recover. As reported recently by Crypto Briefing, NANO is playing a substantial role in the ecosystem of Softbank-backed payments processor Wirex, an FCA-licensed company based in the U.K.

At a recent NANO meetup in London, Wirex’s CEO Pavel Matveev said the company was keen to continue its relationship with the crypto formerly known as RaiBlocks. A Wirex blog post also spared no compliments in describing Nano, calling it “a next-generation cryptocurrency with great potential.”

With an opaque ranking system, the CCID results will likely remain a curiosity for some time. However, the CCP’s apparent newfound fondness for blockchain technology means it is warranted for the community to put blatant skepticism over their rankings on hold for at least an interim period.

Cosmos, DigiByte and Bitcoin SV price: will the alts fight back?
ATOM Cosmos BSV Bitcoin SV DGB DigiByte
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Posted: March 30, 2020

With increasing uncertainty surrounding the markets across the globe, cryptocurrencies have seen higher levels of volatility and steeper price drops. Altcoins have not been able to recover their losses after the March 12 crash and most coins continue to struggle. Bitcoin SV [BSV], Cosmos [ATOM] and DigiByte [DGB] have all endured a dip in their price in the past few days.

Bitcoin SV [BSV]

While the early parts of 2020 looked promising for the fork coin BSV, its recent price performance is rather somber. Over the past days, BSV registered a 12.4 percent drop in its price and at press time BSV has a trading value of $155. Bitcoin SV currently has a market cap of $2.8 billion and a 24-hour trading volume of $1.6 billion.

As per the 4-hour chart, there is strong support for BSV at $155 and two points of resistance at $167 and $182. Bollinger Bands are slowly expanding at the moment and imply an increase in volatility. As per the RSI indicator, BSV’s price has been in the oversold zone and is now moving away towards the overbought zone.

Cosmos [ATOM]

Earlier in the year, Binance U.S began offering staking rewards for Cosmos however not much has changed regarding the fate of this altcoin. Over the course of the last few days, the price of Cosmos has once again registered a dip of 9 percent bring the price down to $1.91. If the price were to give in to the bearish momentum and fall further the strong support at $1.70, Cosmos can rely on. However, there are also resistances at $2.03 and $2.25.

As per the MACD indicator, the same has endured a bearish crossover with the signal line hovering above the MACD line. The Stochastic indicator is currently at the oversold zone but is heading northbound at press time.

DigiByte [DGB]

DGB’s price is at $0.0041 and has a market cap of $52 million. In the past day, DGB has endured a price dip of 13.5 percent and if the price were to fall further, DGB might find support at $0.0029. On the contrary, if the bulls were to raise the price of the coin there are two crucial resistance that would have to be breached, at $0.0042 and $0.0057.

Currently, the RSI indicator is heading towards the oversold zone after having spent a considerable amount of time at the top. MACD indicator echoes a similar sentiment, as it has now undergone a bearish crossover.

Stifel: U.S. economy in "overheated expansion" as AI investment cycle outweighs consumer pressure

U.S. large diversified financial services holding company Stifel has raised its year-end S&P 500 target and rolled out a stock allocation framework for a "high-growth, high-inflation" environment. The firm lifted its year-end S&P 500 target to 7,800 points, noting the U.S. economy is entering a "running hot" state—where economic growth is strengthening alongside mounting inflationary pressure. Stifel’s models show U.S. growth momentum is picking up while inflation momentum is clearly overheating, a trend that will reshape the market’s leading sector structure in the second half of the year. Instead of traditional consumer sectors, Stifel’s top picks are investment-led cyclical industries, including banks, transportation, materials, energy, semiconductors, software and equipment. The firm adds that fixed-asset investment in AI remains on the rise: large tech firms including Amazon, Microsoft, Meta and Google are projected to combine for roughly $725 billion in total capital expenditures in 2026, some $100 billion higher than prior estimates. This means the AI investment chain is likely to continue outperforming the consumption chain squeezed by inflation. Stifel advises investors to reduce exposure to discretionary consumer, consumer staples, communication services and some financial services sectors, as these areas see weaker earnings revisions. Conversely, the firm favors cyclical value stocks and hedges with defensive value sectors such as insurance, autos, energy and banks.

Analyst: Micron's earnings boost overall market sentiment for the tech sector

Chris Strazzeri, Financial Trading Manager of Moomoo’s Australia and New Zealand branch, stated: “The targeted sell-off indicates that following a sustained, strong rally in AI-related and speculative growth stocks, investors are enforcing strict valuation discipline. This serves as a warning to the market that actual earnings levels must now rise to support the currently overvalued price-to-earnings ratio. Micron Technology’s post-market earnings results largely confirm this, and its robust performance has lifted overall market sentiment in the tech sector.”

BCA Research raises its S&P 500 target to 8,100 points, with AI remaining a core variable.

BCA Research has become the latest strategy firm to raise its US stock market target, reflecting Wall Street’s growing optimism about earnings support for US equities in the second half of the year. The institution lifted its year-end S&P 500 target from 7,700 points to 8,100 points. BCA’s core view is that first-quarter corporate earnings exceeded expectations in both strength and breadth, and the US economy has re-entered an expansion phase. Similar to JPMorgan Chase, BCA believes this stock rally is not only driven by valuation expansion—earnings themselves are delivering the index’s gains. AI remains the core variable in this assessment. Large tech firms including Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Oracle continue to increase capital spending on data centers and AI infrastructure, driving growth in orders for chips, servers, construction, power and related industrial chains. This provides a clearer fundamental basis for upward revisions to 2026 and 2027 earnings. The institution points out that risks exist: the earnings expansion brought by AI investments has already been quickly priced into the market. If subsequent returns on capital spending are questioned, or interest rates remain elevated, further upside for the index will require more earnings confirmation rather than relying solely on investor risk appetite.

Tom Lee: Markets have nearly priced in two interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve this year, and the rise in US Treasury yields is weighing on market sentiment.

Tom Lee said the market is still digesting Kevin Warsh’s remarks from his first press conference last week and repricing the macro environment. Over the past week, oil prices have pulled back, with war premiums contracting. Current oil prices are not far from the roughly $65 level seen before the conflict, indicating the market views related war risks as declining. On the other hand, 10-year U.S. Treasury yields continue to rise, now around 4.5%, higher than the pre-conflict level of roughly 4.2%. The main headwind the market has faced recently has shifted from oil prices to yields. Tom Lee noted that the market is not only focused on 10-year U.S. Treasury yields but also starting to price in potential additional interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve. According to federal funds futures, the market is currently pricing in nearly two rate hikes this year. Bank of America further projected today that the Fed will raise rates three times this year, in September, October, and December respectively. Jeffrey Gundlach often emphasizes the importance of monitoring 2-year U.S. Treasury yields, as they typically lead the Fed and signal the central bank’s policy direction. Between 2023 and 2025, the relationship between 2-year U.S. Treasury yields and the federal funds rate indicated that the Fed’s policy was overly tight, requiring interest rate cuts. However, this relationship has recently reversed, meaning the Fed would need two rate hikes to catch up with 2-year U.S. Treasury yields. He believes that, at least for now, yields have become a headwind for the market.

Osmosis proposes OSMO-to-ATOM conversion to deepen Cosmos Hub ties
ATOM Cosmos OSMO Osmosis
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Osmosis has proposed converting OSMO to ATOM and tightening Cosmos Hub integration, testing whether chain mergers can boost liquidity, governance, and valuations.

Summary

Osmosis plan offers OSMO–ATOM conversion at a fixed rate over six months, with unclaimed ATOM returning to the Hub community pool. Proposal would bind Osmosis liquidity, security, and governance more tightly to Cosmos Hub, positioning ATOM as the primary base asset. The move sharpens Cosmos’ consolidation vs app‑chain sovereignty debate, putting OSMO and ATOM holders in control via governance votes. Interoperable DEX Osmosis has put forward a sweeping proposal to convert OSMO into ATOM and migrate its core protocol more tightly into the Cosmos Hub, in one of the most aggressive consolidation moves yet seen in the Cosmos ecosystem. The plan would effectively bind Osmosis’s liquidity, security, and governance more directly to the Hub, while offering OSMO holders a time‑limited path into ATOM exposure.

Under the proposal, all circulating OSMO – excluding undeployed community pool tokens – could be converted to ATOM over a six‑month window at a fixed rate of 1.998 OSMO for 0.0355 ATOM. Holders who do not claim within that period would see the corresponding ATOM returned to the Cosmos Hub community pool, concentrating unclaimed value under Hub governance. The structure is explicitly designed to avoid permanent dangling liabilities, while forcing a clear decision from tokenholders on whether they want to align with the Hub or exit.

Strategically, the proposal aims to turn Osmosis from a largely independent app‑chain into a native liquidity engine for Cosmos Hub, potentially simplifying the stack for users and institutional players who view Cosmos as fragmented. By consolidating liquidity and security at the Hub layer, proponents argue that Cosmos can present a cleaner narrative to external capital: one core base asset (ATOM), one primary liquidity venue (Osmosis on Hub), and unified governance. For Osmosis, the move could widen its addressable user base if ATOM’s brand and distribution outweigh the loss of a standalone token.

The trade‑offs are significant. OSMO holders face dilution of protocol‑specific upside in exchange for broader ATOM exposure and tighter alignment with the Hub’s long‑term roadmap. Cosmos Hub, on the other hand, would be implicitly underwriting Osmosis’s future, importing not only its liquidity and fees but also its technical and governance risk. Success would push Cosmos further toward a “hub and spokes” model with ATOM at the center; failure would strengthen the case for app‑chain sovereignty over consolidation.

If passed, the proposal would mark a clear escalation in the ongoing debate over how Cosmos should compete with more monolithic ecosystems like Ethereum and Solana. It would also provide a live test of whether token conversions and protocol mergers can unlock higher valuations and deeper liquidity, or whether they simply shuffle risk and governance complexity from one balance sheet to another. For now, all eyes will be on how both OSMO and ATOM holders respond at the ballot box.

A revenue support model linked to protocol performance will be introduced, with the total acquisition volume controlled to within 2.5% of the ATOM supply.

PANews reported on April 17 that Osmosis announced on the X platform that its governance proposal to integrate Osmosis into Cosmos Hub failed by a narrow margin. Osmosis stated that it will continue to operate as an independent and profitable chain, and in the coming weeks will prioritize user security and continuity, develop its next phase of plans, and announce the protocol and team's next steps.

Osmosis Surges 185% as COSMOSIS merger debate returns
ATOM Cosmos OSMO Osmosis
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Osmosis is debating a merger with Cosmos Hub via a 1.998 OSMO‑for‑0.0355 ATOM swap funded by DEX revenue, raising existential questions for OSMO, ATOM and the broader IBC DeFi stack.

Summary

OSMO rallied 185% in 24 hours on May 11, 2026, amid renewed speculation about a revised Cosmos Hub merger proposal The original COSMOSIS proposal to convert OSMO to ATOM at a rate of 1.998 OSMO for 0.0355 ATOM failed narrowly in April 2026 Social media activity from @osmosis and community accounts suggests a potential revised path forward for the integration Osmosis (OSMO) jumped 185% in 24 hours on May 11, reigniting debate across X about the failed COSMOSIS merger proposal that would have integrated the decentralized exchange directly into the Cosmos Hub. The sharp price movement comes less than a month after Cosmos Hub governance narrowly rejected the acquisition plan in April 2026, with speculation now centering on whether a revised proposal could succeed.

The original proposal, posted March 11, would have allowed holders to convert all circulating OSMO tokens into ATOM at a fixed rate of 1.998 OSMO for 0.0355 ATOM over a six-month window. Under that structure, approximately 665.1 million OSMO would have been eligible for conversion, with any unclaimed ATOM returning to the Cosmos Hub community pool after the deadline. The plan aimed to consolidate Osmosis liquidity, governance, and security onto a single chain, effectively making the DEX a native component of the Hub rather than an independent app-chain.

Failed Vote Sparks Renewed Speculation After the governance vote failed by a narrow margin in mid-April, Osmosis stated it would continue operating as “an independent, profitable blockchain” and develop its next-phase roadmap. Yet recent posts from the official Osmosis account and Cosmos-focused community members suggest discussions around a revised integration path have resumed, driving heavy trading activity across OSMO markets.

The OSMO-to-ATOM conversion narrative has been trending heavily among Cosmos ecosystem participants, with some forum posts exploring whether a modified proposal could address concerns that led to the original vote’s failure. An updated version referenced in early April removed new ATOM minting from the plan, instead proposing to fund the conversion over time using Osmosis’s own DEX revenue. That revision aimed to mitigate dilution risk for ATOM holders, a key point of contention during the initial governance debate.

Consolidation Versus Sovereignty The COSMOSIS proposal represents one of the most aggressive consolidation moves in Cosmos history, testing whether ecosystem-wide mergers can boost liquidity and valuations or undermine the sovereignty that defines the network’s app-chain model. If a revised proposal passes both Osmosis and Cosmos Hub governance, it would set a precedent that could pressure other independent chains to consider similar integrations.

Market observers note the debate mirrors broader tensions across multi-chain architectures, where projects must balance the benefits of shared security and liquidity against the risks of governance centralization. Concentrating the ecosystem’s primary DEX and hub chain under a single governance framework creates potential single-point-of-failure risks, as contentious votes could simultaneously affect trading infrastructure and network security.

Following the April rejection, some Cosmos community members floated the idea of a hostile takeover offer, arguing that nothing prevents Hub governance from drafting a proposal and presenting it directly to OSMO holders for their own vote. Whether renewed speculation translates into formal governance action remains unclear, but the 185% price surge signals that markets are pricing in a meaningful probability of eventual integration.

The Interchain Foundation has announced an investment in Stride to support the development of Stride Swap, a new decentralized exchange (DEX) built natively on the Cosmos Hub. Stride Swap is designed to leverage the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol, specifically optimized for the Cosmos Hub's IBC Eureka upgrade. This upgrade enables multichain swaps, allowing Stride Swap to serve as a liquidity engine and bridge swap solution within the Cosmos Hub's decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. The initiative marks a new phase for Stride, positioning it as a key player in expanding IBC-enabled DeFi functionalities on the Cosmos network.

Crypto Market Wrap: Altcoins Get Eaten as Bitcoin Cranks Higher
ARDR Ardor ATOM Cosmos BTC Bitcoin ETH Ethereum NEO NEO XLM Stellar Lumens XMR Monero XTZ Tezos
CoinGecko News
Original source text
Crypto markets remain sideways; Only Bitcoin has moved, XLM and BNB dropping, Monero rising slowly. Market Wrap Crypto markets have inched backup a little today as Bitcoin makes another push towards resistance in the mid $9.5ks. BTC is still clearly in the driving seat and altcoin gains are marginal in comparison. Total market capitalization is back above $285 billion and heading towards a new 2019 high.

Following a day or two of consolidation Bitcoin broke out again in a one hour spike sending it to an intraday high of $9,350. Since then gains have held as BTC hovers around its highest price for over a year. A huge wall of resistance lies just above this level so further consolidation here is likely for the coming days.

Ethereum has done nothing again, not even getting a gain off Bitcoin’s 2 percent pump. ETH remains stagnant below $270 and further losses appear imminent. There is still support at $260 which is holding but there has been very little momentum for Ethereum all week.

Altcoin Outlook The crypto top ten has done very little over the past 24 hours with most coins moving less than a percent in either direction. The biggest movement has come from Stellar dropping another 2 percent and looking extremely weak. BNB is also down by a similar amount.

Very little is going on in the top twenty during Asian trading today. Monero is the only altcoin gaining as it makes 3 percent to top $100. Losing 3 percent are Cosmos and NEO. Tezos has now dropped out of the top twenty dumping another 4 percent today.

FOMO: MaidSafeCoin Making It There are no major pumps going on at the moment but the top performing altcoin in the top one hundred is MAID getting 13 percent. Nothing much is driving it aside from the usual anti Facebook rhetoric that everyone in crypto already knows.

6/ Remember Cambridge Analytica! You can’t trust #Facebook with your data, why trust them with your money…

— Autonomi (@WithAutonomi) June 19, 2019

Egretia is the second best performer grabbing 8 percent today. Getting dumped is yesterday’s fake pump, Insight Chain, as INB drops 12 percent. Ardor is also falling back hard with a 7 percent loss on the day.

Total market capitalization 24 hours. Coinmarketcap.com Total crypto market capitalization has increased by $2 billion or so on the day. This is pretty much all Bitcoin as the daddy drives markets to $288 billion. BTC dominance is still over 57 percent as the altcoins remain asleep for now.

Altcoins Leading Crypto Market Gains, Are Pump And Dumps Back?
ADA Cardano ATOM Cosmos BTC Bitcoin BTM Bytom EOS EOS ETH Ethereum LTC Litecoin NEO NEO QTUM Qtum VET VeChain XLM Stellar Lumens XRP Ripple
CoinGecko News
Original source text
A further $6 billion has been added to total crypto market capitalization over the past 24 hours and it is altcoins that are leading the gains. A big dose of Chinese FOMO boosted home grown projects there and Stellar’s coin burn is igniting them this morning, but are they destined to dump again?

Crypto Cap and Volume Rising Total market cap reached $253 billion a few hours ago which is the highest it has been for a week. The bigger picture shows more range bound trading but altcoins appear to be driving momentum at the moment.

Total market cap 24 hours – Coinmarketcap.com The chart also indicates that daily volume has climbed almost 30% since the beginning of the week as everything looks green at the moment. Trader ‘Paddy Stash’ has noted the increase in altcoin dominance over the past week as BTC failed to top 70% and has started to decline in terms of market share.

“Altcoin dominance has continued to climb back upwards since the big $Btc spike from $7.4 to over $10k last week.”

https://twitter.com/paddystash/status/1191346509331206150

While the ‘China effect’ heavily influenced the prices of NEO, Tron, Qtum, VeChain, Bytom and other local blockchain platforms last week, others are getting a lift today.

ParallelCoin Pump and Dump Something called ParallelCoin is looking very spurious at the moment as CMC is reporting a 7,000% surge for DUO tokens. ‘Crypto Bitlord’ has called it a dangerous pump and dump scheme which should be avoided.

https://twitter.com/Crypto_Bitlord/status/1191584425886269442

Another altcoin having a serious pump at the moment is Stellar as the Foundation just burnt 55 billion uncirculated XLM tokens. The crypto community is skeptical however and the 25% price pump has already started to fall off.

Stellar is currently priced at just over $0.08 and has knocked Tron back out of the top ten with a market cap of $1.6 billion. Ripple’s XRP got a related pump at the same time of just over 4% which takes the token back over $0.30 where it faces heavy resistance. This week’s Swell event could help XRP to break through that though.

Ethereum has made a small 2.5% move to hold above $185 at the moment while BCH remains flat at $290. Litecoin has made a solid 6% to break above $60 while EOS adds a similar amount to reach $3.45.

BSV and Cardano have gained over 5% a piece in the past few hours and Cosmos has cranked 12% as it reaches $3.80. The two Chinese altcoins VeChain and Qtum are also going strong today with 7% gained.

Bitcoin has made minor gains to reach resistance at $9,400 again but until it surges back into five figures the altcoins are unlikely to climb any higher. It is still likely that a dump will follow whatever gains altcoins have made today as altseason is still a long way away.

Here’s AMBCrypto’s Price Prediction for Cosmos (ATOM) for 2023-24

________________________________________________________________________________________

The IBC allows independent blockchains to directly communicate and trade assets with each other. Therefore, this development added much value to the blockchain as it represented the capabilities of ATOM.

The token’s price also corresponded to this development as it registered nearly 3% weekly gains. According to CoinMarketCap, ATOM’s press time price was $12.45 with a market capitalization of $3,564,241,363.

Several developments also in the ecosystem acted as the cherry on the cake and suggested a price surge in the near future. For example, 17 new projects were recently added to the Cosmos ecosystem, which looked quite promising.

A sky full of Cosmos… In addition to the aforementioned developments, ATOM’s metrics also painted a bullish picture for the coin. Several metrics suggested a price surge in the near future. For instance, after registering a decline, ATOM’s volume went up, which was a bullish signal.

Source: Santiment ATOM’s Binance funding rate also witnessed a surge in the last few days, thus indicating higher interest from the derivatives market. Not only this, but ATOM’s social volume also spiked, representing ATOM’s popularity levels within the crypto community.

Source: Santiment However, not everything was working in ATOM’s favor as its development activity went down considerably, which is a red signal as it indicates less effort from the developers in improving the blockchain.

… and bears apparently A look at ATOM’s daily chart revealed that the bulls and the bears were fighting a battle. The Exponential Moving Average (EMA) Ribbon indicated a similar situation with the bears having a slight edge in the market. Moreover, ATOM’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) rested below the neutral position.

Nonetheless, other market indicators were positive and suggested a price surge in the coming days. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) displayed an attempt to make a bullish crossover. ATOM’s Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) did manage to cross the zero line, but moved sideways at press time.

The United States Securities and Exchanges Commission has already begun to take action in regards to the initial coin offerings in 2020. The CEO of Brave, Brendan Eich recently spoke on Basic Attention Token and how it would face the Howey Test. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission has already begun to take action in regards to initial coin offerings in 2020. The first move this year was to charge a convicted criminal for conducting a fraudulent ICO with a fake identity - it was one that raised over $30 million according to the official website. However, the most recent action was reported earlier this month (21st January) on a day when the commission charged the blockchain-based B2B market Marketplace, Opporty International for conducting once again, a fraudulent ICO. Such an ICO raised $600,000.

Even though the commission ended up taking action recently, there are some commentators in the space that are expecting big projects to face scrutiny for playing out an initial coin offering. This is similar to EOS, as an example. According to a report by Messari, it claims that the coins could face a similar fate of that of Basic Attention Token (BAT), Cosmos and Tezos, going on to say that they could expect leniency in the matter.

The CEO of Brave, Brendan Eich recently spoke on Basic Attention Token and how it would face the Howey Test. This was a test used by the securities commission in order to determine whether or not a token can be classed as a security. In response to this, the CEO said that the team doesn’t have any concerns as they followed all the rules present at the time of sale. Furthermore, they’ve never had any problems and ever since, they have been compliant.

Speaking on the securities commission action against the Kin initial coin offering, he stated that the team behind the project, Kik Interactive got into some significant trouble. This was because the team didn’t actually respond to the July 2017 report by the SEC and didn’t take it into account in their latest sale.

“We don’t have concerns but I’m not going to play lawyer on your show because I think that would be bad for me and for the listeners and I need to be paying a lot more if I were a lawyer.”

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!

US Treasury Secretary: AI boom may boost productivity and help curb inflation.

US Treasury Secretary Bessent told CNBC in an interview that he hopes the Federal Reserve will remain "open-minded" about the inflation pattern after the reversal of Iran-related energy price hikes. Bessent noted that the U.S. could enter an economic environment marked by high GDP growth without a corresponding rise in traditional inflation. He cited that in the 1990s, Alan Greenspan foresaw that office modernization and the internet could drive non-inflationary growth, and allowed the economy to keep expanding. Bessent believes the U.S. has a strong chance of seeing a similar scenario again. When asked whether the Fed still needs to worry about potential inflation and whether interest rate cuts are possible this year or next, Bessent declined to comment. However, he argued that it is necessary to stay open-minded about the price or inflation impacts from the Iran conflict, and monitor inflation performance after those effects subside. Bessent also said an open mind is needed, as the AI boom could boost productivity and deliver disinflationary effects, helping inflation return to the Fed’s target level. He added that he believes Kevin Warsh will choose the optimal path that meets both the Fed’s inflation and growth mandates. Bessent also noted that Warsh previously took a hawkish stance on inflation.

Chainlink, Bitcoin Diamond fail to shine as Cosmos, KNC gain toehold

Despite the fact that the altcoin market managed to significantly push Bitcoin’s dominance to 62.7% this month, this asset class is still far behind. While many alts posted significant gains over the last month, most of them quickly retraced to below their support levels.

Chainlink [LINK]

LINK, the cryptocurrency powering blockchain project Chainlink, attempted to break its 2019 high this month after it significantly rose to breach critical resistances along the way. However, the coin soon suffered a decline of 16.31% after it fell from $4.9 to $4.1 over the past week.

At press time, the coin, which was the best performer in USD markets during 2019, was down by 3.72% over the last 24-hours and was priced at $4.26 as the bulls struggled to retain their previous glory. Additionally, LINK held a market cap of $1.49 billion and a 24-hour trading volume of $319.4 million.

Bitcoin Diamond [BCD]

This fork coin of Bitcoin has not had any significant developments over the last couple of months. Despite that, the latest rally managed to push Bitcoin Diamond’s valuation to new highs. This, however, did not last long. The coin fell shortly after exhibiting a decline of 9.8% over the past week.

To top that, BCD was down by 3.18% over the last 24-hours and was priced at $0.077 as its market cap stood at $138.4 million with $8.5 million in trading volume over the last 24-hours across 21 exchanges.

Cosmos [ATOM]

On a positive note, ATOM continued posting gains after slipping close to the key support area and was up by 17.56% over the last week.

Moreover, the coin rose by 3.46% over the last 24-hours and was trading at a price of $4.86. It held a market cap of $926 million and a 24-hour trading volume of $300 million.

Besides, Jae Kwon, Co-founder and CEO of Tendermint, the company behind the development of Cosmos SDK, had previously revealed that he will step down from his role at Cosmos to work on a daughter project. This piece of news may have had an effect on its price.

Kyber Network [KNC]:

Kyber Network token [KNC] was also up by nearly 3% in the last 24-hours as leading crypto-exchange Coinbase announced the launch of KNC in Coinbase’s supported jurisdictions, with the exception of New York State and the United Kingdom. According to the official release, Coinbase users would be able to deposit the token by 24 February.

Following the announcement, KNC climbed to $0.57 and held a market cap of $99.7 million. Additionally, it registered a 24-hours trading volume of $31.58. Interestingly, the coin was up by 65% over the past week.
