Applied Digital Could Have 155% Upside Ahead of July 27 Q2 Earnings

Applied Digital (NASDAQ:APLD) is a rare AI infrastructure story that behaves like a landlord, benefiting from long-duration, contracted revenue streams while masquerading as a growth stock. The company develops and operates specialized data centers, making money by leasing computing capacity to AI and high-performance computing customers.

With $16 billion in aggregate prospective lease revenue already signed and 15-year hyperscaler leases underwriting the buildout, the buy case rests on the simple premise that buildings will open on schedule, which they are.

$16 Billion in Signed Lease Backlog Makes the Bull Case Polaris Forge 1 is 400 MW fully contracted to CoreWeave for roughly $11 billion in contracted revenue, and Polaris Forge 2 added a 200 MW lease with a U.S. investment-grade hyperscaler worth approximately $5 billion over its term.

Management has reiterated a target of $1 billion in NOI within five years. That is REIT-grade cash flow visibility attached to a pipeline of roughly 1 GW across four development sites.

Applied Digital’s Earnings Inflection Has Arrived Q3 FY2026 revenue hit $126.64 million, up 139.3% year over year, while adjusted EBITDA jumped to $44.14 million from $6.26 million a year earlier. Adjusted EPS came in at $0.09 against a -$0.21 consensus, the fourth straight beat. Analysts have followed with 11 buy ratings, zero holds, and zero sells, and a $76.70 target implying 154.99% upside from the current $30.08.

Why Applied Digital Beats the Obvious AI Alternative The natural comparison is IREN (NASDAQ:IREN), the other pure-play AI/HPC data center peer transitioning from Bitcoin. IREN posted 0% quarterly revenue growth YoY at last report against APLD’s 139.3%. Over the last year, APLD returned 174.7% versus IREN’s 122.05%. For retirement money, growth backed by signed leases beats growth backed by GPU spot pricing.

The Two Biggest Risks Are Already Shrinking Yes, GAAP losses are real, and the company’s CoreWeave revenue concentration is real. However, the company has $1.73 billion in cash, attractive financing with a $2.15 billion senior secured notes offering at 6.750% to fund Polaris Forge 2, and a new investment-grade hyperscaler diversifying the customer base. Insiders have logged 12 recent buy transactions. The people closest to the numbers are adding, not trimming.

Retirement investors looking for multi-decade AI infrastructure exposure with contracted cash-flow visibility have a compelling case to research APLD today.

Applied Digital Stock in Focus: A Look at Upcoming Earnings, Technicals, Edge Rankings
APLD Applied Digital

Applied Digital shares are powering higher. Why are APLD shares rallying? Earnings Preview & HistoryApplied Digital is scheduled to report fourth-quarter earnings on July 27. The company is expected to report a loss of 36 cents per share along with revenue of $91.91 million. For the prior quarter, Applied Digital reported earnings per share of $0.09, beating the consensus estimate of a loss of 17 cents per share. The company also posted revenue of $126.60 million, exceeding the consensus estimate of $77.11 million.

Applied Digital has beaten EPS estimates in seven consecutive quarters. Over the last four quarters, the company has averaged an EPS surprise of 1.03% and a revenue surprise of 0.44%.

Applied Digital Eyes $1B NOI in 5 YearsOversold, But Not Out Of The WoodsThe chart is still in a clear downtrend on intermediate timeframes, with the stock trading 22.9% below its 20-day SMA, 33.2% below its 50-day SMA, and 17.4% below its 200-day SMA. That distance from the major averages tells you rallies are still fighting overhead supply, even if the premarket bounce extends.

Momentum is the main story right now: RSI is 26.30, which puts the stock in oversold territory and signals the selling has become stretched. In plain terms, RSI helps gauge whether a move has gone "too far, too fast," and readings below 30 often coincide with tradable bounces—but they don’t, by themselves, confirm a durable bottom.

From a structure standpoint, May marked the recent swing high (and the 52-week high), while July logged a swing low as RSI slipped into oversold territory. Longer-term, the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA (a constructive longer-term backdrop), but the 20-day SMA sitting below the 50-day SMA keeps the near-term trend bearish until price can reclaim key moving-average zones.

Key Resistance: $29.00 — a nearby round-number area where rebounds can stall, especially with multiple moving averages still overhead Key Support: $24.00 — a nearby level that lines up as a recent "line in the sand" for buyers after the latest selloff Benzinga Edge RankingsBelow is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Applied Digital, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market:

Momentum: Bullish (Score: 82.08) — Despite the recent drawdown, the stock’s longer-term performance profile still screens as strong versus the broader market. The Verdict: Applied Digital’s Benzinga Edge signal reveals a momentum-driven profile, with Momentum as the clear standout in the current dataset. For traders, that puts extra emphasis on whether this oversold bounce can build into a trend reversal—or fades as price runs into overhead resistance near $29.00.

• Applied Digital stock is showing notable weakness. What’s behind APLD decline?

S&P 500 futures are down 0.9%, setting a softer tone for higher-beta tech trades early in the session.

Technical AnalysisThe chart is in a clear downtrend on multiple timeframes, with the stock trading 29.6% below its 20-day SMA, 39% below its 50-day SMA, and 24.6% below its 200-day SMA — classic "below the stack" behavior that usually keeps rallies capped until price can reclaim key averages.

The 20-day SMA is also below the 50-day SMA (bearish), even though the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA, which hints that the longer-term uptrend has been damaged but not fully erased.

LITE vs. APLD: Which AI Infrastructure Stock Offers Better Growth?
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Lumentum's fiscal third-quarter Components and Systems revenues surged 77.3% and 121.1%, respectively.AI demand, sold-out components and new optical products support LITE's multi-year growth outlook.APLD faces widening losses, heavy debt and execution risks despite expanding AI data center capacity. Lumentum Holdings (LITE - Free Report) and Applied Digital Corporation (APLD - Free Report) are emerging beneficiaries of the accelerating AI infrastructure buildout. Lumentum supplies advanced optical networking components that enable high-speed data transmission within AI data centers. At the same time, Applied Digital develops and operates AI-focused data centers and high-performance computing infrastructure. Despite their different business models, both companies are benefiting from the same wave of AI-driven capital spending.

The AI infrastructure investment cycle is gaining momentum as hyperscalers, cloud providers and enterprises continue expanding their AI capabilities. According to Mordor Intelligence, the global AI infrastructure market is projected to reach $202.5 billion by 2031, growing at a 14.9% CAGR. As AI infrastructure spending accelerates, investors are increasingly evaluating companies across different layers of the AI ecosystem. Against this backdrop, comparing these two companies offers insight into which is better positioned to capitalize on this long-term opportunity.

The Case for LITE StockLumentum is emerging as one of the strongest beneficiaries of the accelerating AI infrastructure buildout, supplying the optical engines that enable high-speed connectivity inside and between hyperscale AI data centers. Its portfolio spans electro-absorption modulated lasers (EMLs), continuous-wave lasers, pump lasers, narrow-linewidth laser assemblies, optical circuit switches (OCS) and cloud transceivers — all of which are essential for AI networking, data center interconnect (DCI) and co-packaged optics (CPO). The company increasingly positions itself as a critical supplier of both AI infrastructure components and complete optical systems.

AI demand continues to translate into exceptional execution. In third-quarter fiscal 2026, Components revenues climbed 77.3%, and Systems revenues jumped 121.1%, driven by record cloud transceiver shipments, robust EML demand and expanding AI deployments. Management expects fiscal fourth-quarter revenues of $960 million-$1.01 billion, reflecting confidence in sustained AI infrastructure investments and continued business momentum.

Lumentum's competitive advantage lies in its differentiated "scale-out" and "scale-across" optical portfolio. Hyperscalers are increasingly adopting distributed AI architectures that require high-bandwidth optical interconnects, pump lasers, wavelength-selective switches and narrow-linewidth lasers. The company stated several AI-focused components remain effectively sold out, while 1.6T transceivers, optical circuit switches and CPO products are expected to provide additional multi-year growth opportunities.

However, investors should remain aware of supply constraints, uncertain AI investment timing, manufacturing ramp execution, geopolitical trade restrictions and customer concentration, which could affect near-term performance. Even so, these risks appear manageable given the company's expanding capacity, improving profitability and strengthening product portfolio.

Analyst sentiment toward Lumentum has strengthened, with the Zacks Consensus Estimate for its fiscal first-quarter and full-year fiscal 2027 earnings pegged at $3.53 and $18.07 per share, indicating growth of 220.91% and 121.15%, respectively. These estimates have also moved higher over the past 30 and 60 days.

The Case for APLD StockApplied Digital is positioning itself as an emerging beneficiary of the accelerating AI infrastructure buildout, but the investment case remains clouded by execution and financial risks. The company is pursuing an aggressive, capital-intensive expansion strategy that continues to pressure profitability while increasing financial leverage. Third-quarter fiscal 2026 net loss attributable to common stockholders widened to $100.9 million, while operating loss reached $85.7 million despite strong revenue growth. The balance sheet reflects the scale of its AI infrastructure buildout, with long-term debt exceeding $2.5 billion, making future returns heavily dependent on timely project execution, customer ramp-ups and continued access to financing.

Despite strong AI demand, Applied Digital faces significant execution challenges. Future growth depends on completing Polaris Forge and Delta Forge projects on schedule, securing additional financing, converting its power pipeline into contracted capacity and signing more long-term hyperscaler leases. The company also remains exposed to customer concentration, power availability, permitting delays, equipment disruptions and the timing of hyperscaler leasing decisions — all of which management identifies as key business risks. Moreover, management noted that only a small fraction of its long-term power pipeline has been contracted, while several development sites remain subject to customer negotiations, regulatory approvals and infrastructure development.

Still, Applied Digital is positioned to benefit from the accelerating AI infrastructure investment cycle. The company designs, builds and operates purpose-built AI factories for AI, cloud and high-performance computing workloads while leveraging a vertically integrated strategy spanning power, AI infrastructure and accelerated compute.

APLD recently laid the foundation stone for the 300 MW Delta Forge 1 AI campus, secured a $100 million development facility from Macquarie, strengthened the credit quality of CoreWeave leases, completed a $2.15 billion secured note offering and continued the expansion of Polaris Forge. Management also targets approximately 3 GW of AI capacity by 2031, positioning the company as a potential long-term beneficiary of hyperscalers' accelerating AI infrastructure spending.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for APLD’s fiscal 2027 loss is currently pegged at $1 per share, wider than the 70-cent loss reported a year ago. While the estimate has remained unchanged over the past 30 days, it has worsened by 9 cents over the past 60 days.

Price Performance & Valuation of LITE & APLDIn the past six months, shares of Lumentum have surged 130.9% against Applied Digital’s decline of 22.3%. Growing adoption of Lumentum's AI optical technologies has enhanced revenue visibility and investor sentiment, enabling the stock to outperform despite volatility across the broader AI infrastructure sector.

LITE Vs. TEAM: Six-Month Price Return Performance

Valuation remains a consideration, with Lumentum and Applied Digital each carrying a Value Score of D and F, respectively. However, Lumentum trades at a lower forward 12-month P/S multiple of 10.21X versus Applied Digital's 11.79X.

LITE's relatively reasonable valuation, combined with its strong AI-driven growth prospects, makes the stock an attractive choice for investors seeking long-term upside with greater stability.

LITE or APLD: Which Stock Has the Edge?Lumentum appears better positioned than Applied Digital at present, supported by stronger execution, accelerating earnings growth, improving estimate revisions and a relatively more attractive valuation. While both companies stand to benefit from expanding AI infrastructure investments, Lumentum offers a more balanced risk-reward profile, making it the stronger choice for investors seeking long-term AI-driven growth with greater stability.

Currently, LITE has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), while APLD carries a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell).

Cramer Likes Applied Digital on the Dip — but Warns: 'Start It Small, Don't Start It Big'

Applied Digital announced that it will host a conference call on Monday, July 27, to discuss its operations and financial results for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Cramer recommended buying Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) as it has “come down a great deal and it’s a non-combustible way to be able to power data centers.”

Truist Securities analyst Christopher Souther, on Tuesday, initiated coverage on Bloom Energy with a Hold rating and announced a price target of $250.

“I think double down right now. A 6% yield. You want to own it. I think it’s terrific for people who want fixed income,” Cramer said when asked about Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE:EPD).

On July 9, JP Morgan analyst Jeremy Tonet maintained EPD at Neutral and raised the price target from $41 to $42.

Citigroup analyst Anthony Pettinari, on Wednesday, maintained Lennar with a Neutral rating and lowered the price target from $104 to $88.

X-Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:XEG) is a “pure spec,” Cramer said. “It’s nuclear, and the problem with nuclear is everyone’s just decided it’s just too darn expensive.”

On the earnings front, X-Energy reported worse-than-expected first-quarter sales on June 4.

Construction Partners announced that it will release its fiscal third-quarter results on Aug. 7, before the market opens.

APLD's Customer Concentration Remains High: Will it Limit Growth?
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways APLD derives nearly 86% of contracted lease revenues from just two hyperscale customers. Applied Digital has about $36B in contracted leases, with most tied to existing hyperscale relationships. APLD faces diversified rivals EQIX and DLR, while customer concentration heightens execution risk. Applied Digital (APLD - Free Report) continues to expand its artificial intelligence data center platform aggressively, but its persistently high customer concentration remains an important investment risk. Although the company has built a sizable portfolio of long-term hyperscale leases, future revenue generation remains heavily dependent on a limited number of counterparties, tying growth closely to the investment priorities and financial health of a few large customers.

The exposure remains substantial. Applied Digital has approximately $36 billion in contracted lease revenues, with nearly $20 billion associated with one hyperscaler across Delta Forge 1, Polaris Forge 3 and Delta Forge 2. CoreWeave represents another $11 billion through Polaris Forge 1, while a third hyperscaler at Polaris Forge 2 accounts for the remaining $5 billion. Consequently, nearly 86% of the company's contracted revenues are derived from just two customers, highlighting the limited diversification of its revenue pipeline.

This dependence increases execution risk as multiple AI data center campuses are scheduled to become operational through 2027 and 2028. Any delay in capacity deployments, moderation in AI infrastructure investments or deterioration in the credit profile of these key tenants could materially affect future revenue generation. While Applied Digital continues to expand its development pipeline, much of the incremental contracted capacity remains tied to existing hyperscale relationships instead of materially broadening its customer mix.

With the bulk of contracted revenues still resting on just two hyperscalers and little evidence of a broader tenant base taking shape, APLD's customer concentration is likely to remain a defining constraint on the sustainability of its growth trajectory.

APLD Faces Stiff CompetitionApplied Digital faces intense competition from Equinix (EQIX - Free Report) and Digital Realty Trust (DLR - Free Report) , both of which operate with significantly more diversified customer portfolios.

Equinix generates revenues from a broad base of enterprise, cloud and network customers across global markets, while Digital Realty Trust serves a balanced mix of hyperscalers, enterprises and colocation customers. In comparison, Applied Digital remains heavily reliant on a limited number of hyperscale tenants for the bulk of its contracted lease revenues.

Unlike Equinix and Digital Realty Trust, Applied Digital's elevated customer concentration increases its exposure to customer-specific investment decisions and execution risks, potentially making its long-term revenue stream more volatile.

The difference is that Nebius, Iren, and Applied Digital take on significant risk by owning GPUs, data centers, and the infrastructure to operate them, while Penguin Solutions doesn’t. It is the true enabler, focusing on clients with the capacity to build their own HPC systems and providing them with the engineering, hardware, software, and services to make it all work. This includes long-term contracts for data center operation and maintenance, which is the real story in AI. While the data center buildout gets the headlines today, it will be day-to-day operations and maintenance that drive revenue and cash flow in the long term.

Penguin Solutions Earnings Results Signal Game-Changing ShiftPenguin Solutions' Q3 fiscal 2026 results and guidance were so hot, underpinned by AI demand, as to be comparable to NVIDIA's NASDAQ: NVDA, relatively speaking. Revenue grew by nearly 48% year-over-year to $479 million, more than $55 million above MarketBeat’s reported consensus estimates and about 1,360 basis points better than expected. Strength was driven by AI, with Integrated Memory more than doubling year over year (YOY). Integrated Memory is critical to Penguin Solutions' business, as it helps unblock the memory bottleneck by enabling HPC datacenters to pool memory across clusters, improving latency and efficiency.

Margin was another critical factor in this equation. Long criticized for its profitability metrics, the company appears to be turning a corner. While gross margins were compressed, internal improvements and revenue leverage aided operating margin expansion, allowing top-line strength to carry through. Highlights include record-setting GAAP and adjusted operating income, with adjusted operating income up by 67% compared to the 48% top-line advance. Looking ahead, the strength is expected to continue, as reflected in the guidance.

The guidance was as eye-popping as the revenue, with full-year revenue now expected to grow by 22%, a 1,000 bps improvement from the prior quarter. Within that, the adjusted gross margin target was improved by 50 bps, and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) by 45 cents or 2,040 bps, and all may be cautious. There is clear momentum in the data center industry, and Penguin Solutions has emerged as a top-tier service provider. With this in play, investors should expect results to remain strong for the foreseeable future.

Penguin’s fiscal Q3 strength is also seen in its balance sheet. While cash is down year-to-date, the drawdown is minimal; the company is well-capitalized, and metrics, including receivables, inventory, and equity, reflect strength. Receivables more than doubled to over $700 million, more than offsetting the cash decline, while inventory also more than doubled and long-term debt declined. The impact on equity was substantial, increasing by nearly 11.5%.

Penguin Solutions Q3 Results Affirm Analysts' Support: Price Targets RisePenguin Solutions' fiscal Q3 results affirmed the bullish posture analysts had displayed ahead of the release, prompting some to lift their price targets again following the report. Commentary focused on the massive top-line beat and margin improvements, which directly refute the critics.

The takeaway is that 10 analysts rate this stock as a Moderate Buy, there is a 70% Buy-side bias, and the price targets are rising. The consensus price target lags price action, but this is not a concern, as it rose by 40% on a trailing 3-month basis as of early July, with high-end targets forecasting fresh all-time highs.

Institutional activity is also bullish, with them owning more than 97% of the shares and aggressively buying at a $3-to-$1 pace over the trailing 12 months. They provide solid support and limit downside risk, setting the stage for retail investors to drive shares higher. The likely outcome is that institutions continue to underpin support in future quarters while improving visibility leads retail money into the market.

The chart action is robust. PENG shares have rallied strongly since April, rising by more than 200%. Price action has pulled back from its peak, but MACD convergences suggest this rally is far from over. Convergences, a sign of strength, exist across multiple time frames, including monthly, weekly, and daily chart action, a convergence in its own right, suggesting new highs are likely. The critical support and resistance targets are near $60 and $75; a move below $60 is unexpected, while a move above $70 is more likely. The biggest risk is the valuation, which is high at approximately 35x earnings. However, the fiscal Q3 results affirm a healthy growth outlook, putting this stock at value levels within a few years.

Applied Digital Continues Heavy Capital Spending: What's Ahead?
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Applied Digital is expanding five AI campuses, with new capacity added at Polaris Forge 1.APLD raised billions in secured financing as capital spending continues to exceed operating cash flow.Applied Digital has over half of its 400-megawatt leased capacity still awaiting recurring lease revenues. Applied Digital (APLD - Free Report) continues an aggressive capital spending program as it expands its AI data center footprint across multiple campuses. APLD is simultaneously developing five AI Factory campuses, including Polaris Forge 1, Polaris Forge 2, Delta Forge 1 and Delta Forge 2. Construction of a fourth building at Polaris Forge 1 has already begun before the third building reaches full utilization. On July 1, 2026, Applied Digital placed Phase 1 of the second building at Polaris Forge 1 into service, adding 75 megawatts of operational capacity and taking the campus to 175 megawatts of live capacity. However, this remains well below the 400 megawatts already leased to CoreWeave under long-term agreements, leaving more than half of the contracted capacity yet to contribute recurring lease revenue.

To support this infrastructure expansion, Applied Digital continues to rely on project-level financing rather than internally generated cash flows. The company raised $1.59 billion through senior secured notes due 2031 to fund the fourth building at Polaris Forge 1, following an earlier $300 million bridge facility for the same project and a $2.15 billion senior secured notes offering for Polaris Forge 2. An additional debt tranche remains to be placed for Polaris Forge 1, suggesting financing requirements are likely to remain elevated as construction progresses across its development pipeline.

APLD's adjusted EBITDA was $44.1 million in the fiscal third quarter, while total debt stood at approximately $2.7 billion at the quarter’s end. The pace of capital deployment continues to outstrip current operating cash generation, leaving the company's expansion strategy heavily reliant on external financing. With several AI campuses still under construction and financing needs expected to remain elevated, Applied Digital is likely to remain in an investment-heavy phase until a larger portion of its contracted capacity begins generating recurring lease revenue and cash flows.

APLD Faces Stiff CompetitionApplied Digital competes with IREN Limited (IREN - Free Report) and TeraWulf (WULF - Free Report) in expanding AI infrastructure to serve hyperscale customers. Like Applied Digital, IREN continues investing in high-performance computing capacity, while TeraWulf is expanding its digital infrastructure through AI-focused data center projects. However, compared with IREN and TeraWulf, Applied Digital is pursuing a broader multi-campus expansion strategy, resulting in larger upfront capital commitments and greater reliance on external financing as new capacity is brought online.

APLD’s Share Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesApplied Digital shares have surged 34.8% year to date, outperforming the broader Zacks Finance sector’s decline of 9% and the Zacks Financial-Miscellaneous Services industry’s increase of 4.5%.

Applied Digital Delivers Second Building at Polaris Forge 1
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
DALLAS, July 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Applied Digital (NASDAQ: APLD), a designer, builder, and operator of high-performance, sustainably engineered data centers and colocation services for artificial intelligence, cloud, networking, and blockchain workloads, today announced it has achieved Ready for Service for Phase 1 of Building 2 at Polaris Forge 1, delivering 75 MW of operational AI capacity to its customer on schedule and bringing total live capacity at the campus to 175 MW.

The delivery marks the next major milestone in the continued buildout of Polaris Forge 1, Applied Digital’s fully leased AI Factory Campus designed to support high-density artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads. At full build out, Polaris Forge 1 is contracted to deliver 400 MW of critical IT load under long-term lease agreements.

“Delivering this phase on time underscores the strength of our execution model,” said Wes Cummins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Applied Digital. “Polaris Forge 1 continues to demonstrate the depth of our team and the discipline it takes to bring critical AI infrastructure capacity online for our customers. Achieving this milestone required intense coordination across the field, construction, engineering, operations, procurement, development, and corporate teams, and I’m proud of the entire Applied Digital organization for delivering as planned. With 175 MW now live at the campus, Polaris Forge 1 demonstrates the repeatable model we are scaling across our AI Factory footprint.”

This latest achievement follows Applied Digital’s on-time completion of the first 100 MW building at Polaris Forge 1 and further demonstrates the Company’s ability to bring critical IT capacity online in alignment with customer deployment timelines. With 175 MW now live, Polaris Forge 1 continues to demonstrate Applied Digital’s ability to execute across multiple phases of a large-scale AI infrastructure deployment.

Applied Digital’s execution approach is built around what the Company refers to as its AI Factory franchise model: a repeatable framework that replicates a core team of design, construction, and operations professionals across each campus, supported by centralized expertise and dedicated site-level execution teams.

“Polaris Forge 1 continues to validate the repeatable model we are building across our AI Factory platform,” Cummins continued. “We are not just securing power; we are turning it into live, operational AI capacity. That is the hard part, and it is where Applied Digital continues to differentiate itself.”

As demand for large-scale AI infrastructure continues to grow, customers are placing increasing importance on execution certainty and speed to market. Applied Digital’s on-time delivery of another major phase at Polaris Forge 1 reinforces the Company’s ability to bring complex infrastructure online in alignment with customer timelines.

Polaris Forge 1 is located in Ellendale, North Dakota, where Applied Digital has operated since 2021 and built long-standing relationships with local leaders, partners, and community stakeholders. As the campus continues to expand, the Company remains focused on responsible development, local partnership, and creating long-term value in the communities where it builds.

Oracle Just Became an AI Cloud Powerhouse. Here Are 5 Under-the-Radar Stocks Along for the Ride
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Hyperscaler capex has ballooned to nearly $700 billion, up from roughly $400 billion just three months earlier, according to Applied Digital CEO Wes Cummins. Oracle’s transformation into an AI cloud powerhouse is the marquee headline, but the money is quietly rotating into the picks-and-shovels names that get paid whether Oracle, Microsoft, or Meta wins the model race. Five under-the-radar tickers sit directly in that spending firehose, and the market has not fully repriced any of them.

1. Lantronix (LTRX): The Edge Compute Play Hiding Inside the Drone Boom Start with the name nobody mentions in the same sentence as Oracle. Lantronix (NASDAQ:LTRX) makes the onboard edge compute modules that live inside drones and unmanned systems, and every one of those endpoints is a customer of the AI cloud back at the data center. As hyperscalers scale training capacity, the edge devices generating and consuming that inference explode in tandem. Lantronix is the quiet supplier under the hood.

The March quarter told the story. Embedded IoT Solutions grew 22% year over year to $14.62 million, driven almost entirely by drones. Management raised the fiscal 2026 drone revenue outlook to a range of $10 million to $14 million and guided drone revenue to roughly double in fiscal 2027, reaching 15% to 20% of total revenue. Add the FCC’s December 2025 ban on new DJI approvals and a proposed record $75 billion Department of War budget for unmanned and autonomous systems, and the setup writes itself. Shares are up 105% over the past year and still trade at a forward multiple of 20.

Hardware at the edge is one layer of the stack. The software sitting on top of Oracle-grade cloud capacity is where the growth rates get truly absurd.

2. Rezolve AI (RZLV): The Agentic Commerce Software Sitting on Top of the Cloud Rezolve AI (NASDAQ:RZLV) is the application layer riding directly on the AI cloud build-out. Its Brain Suite platform turns retailer catalogs into agentic commerce workflows, the exact use case Oracle, Google, and AWS are pitching to enterprise CIOs. Rezolve gets paid every time an enterprise decides agentic AI is real.

The Q1 fiscal 2026 numbers, filed on June 30, 2026, are eye-watering. Quarterly revenue hit $60.00 million, up 1,800% year over year, meaning a single quarter exceeded the entire fiscal 2025 baseline of roughly $46.8 million. Management reaffirmed fiscal 2026 revenue guidance of approximately $360 million and is targeting a minimum $500 million ARR exit rate for 2026. Shareholders also authorized a $300 million share repurchase at the AGM. CEO Daniel Wagner put it plainly: “Rezolve Ai is operating at a pace, scale and level of commercial momentum that we believe places us among the most exciting AI growth companies in the public markets.”

Software layer, check. But someone has to build and lease the actual physical concrete-and-copper campuses that host it.

3. Applied Digital (APLD): The Pure-Play AI Data Center Landlord Here is the obvious heavyweight. Applied Digital (NASDAQ:APLD) is what Oracle looks like if you strip out the software and keep only the buildings, power, and hyperscaler leases. Polaris Forge 1 is already live with 100 MW of direct-to-chip liquid-cooled capacity, and Polaris Forge 2 carries a signed 15-year, 200 MW hyperscaler lease worth roughly $5 billion.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Rezolve AI didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

Q3 fiscal 2026 revenue landed at $126.64 million, up 139% year over year and beating the $78.48 million consensus. Adjusted EBITDA swung to $44.14 million from $6.26 million a year earlier, and adjusted EPS came in at $0.09 versus a -$0.21 estimate, the fourth consecutive beat. Total contracted capacity of 600 MW represents roughly $16 billion in aggregate revenue over the lease terms. Analysts carry an average target of $73.36 against a current $35.70 share price, and shares are still up 270% over the past year despite a 21% pullback in the last month, arguably the setup investors have been waiting for.

If Applied Digital is the polished operator, the next name is the one nobody expected to end up in the AI cloud sweepstakes at all.

4. HIVE Digital (HIVE): The Bitcoin Miner That Became a GPU Cloud HIVE Digital Technologies (NASDAQ:HIVE) spent a decade mining Bitcoin and is now pivoting the same power infrastructure into GPU-as-a-service. Its BUZZ HPC division just brought the first liquid-cooled NVIDIA B200 cluster live with Bell Canada’s AI Fabric, adding roughly $15 million of incremental ARR. This is the transformation trade in its purest form.

Fiscal 2026 revenue landed at $297.79 million, up 158% year over year. HPC ARR has already grown from roughly $20 million to $35 million, and the planned 320 MW GTA AI Gigafactory is designed to host more than 100,000 GPUs, generating roughly $360 million in ARR at full operations. CEO Aydin Kilic laid out the near-term milestone directly: “doubling the size of our GPU cloud this year, from approximately 5,500 NVIDIA GPUs to approximately 11,000 GPUs under management by the end of calendar 2026, which is expected to generate over $200 million of AI Cloud ARR.” Reddit’s r/wallstreetbets has already caught on, with the thread “Why HIVE will be the big winner in the mining to AI compute race” hitting peak sentiment scores of 82 in the very-bullish zone. Shares are still just $3.47.

5. Blaize Holdings (BZAI): The Sub-$200 Million Lottery Ticket on Inference Silicon Here is the punchline. Blaize Holdings (NASDAQ:BZAI) is a pure-play edge AI inference silicon designer with a market cap of just $196.37 million. Every Oracle, AWS, and Azure inference workload will eventually push out to the edge, and cost per inference is the next battleground. That is exactly the market Blaize was built for. CEO Dinakar Munagala framed it clearly: “AI infrastructure is entering its next phase as the industry moves from model training to inference at global scale.”

Q1 2026 revenue hit $2.70 million, up 168% year over year, with gross margin expanding to 58% from 11% the prior quarter. The pipeline is where the payoff lives: a NeoTensr contract worth up to $50 million, a Winmate partnership worth roughly $15 million in first-year business, and full-year 2026 revenue guidance of approximately $130 million. Yes, shares are down 29% year to date and securities fraud investigations are an overhang worth acknowledging, but at $1.39 a share the asymmetric setup is unambiguous. Five analysts rate it Buy with an average target of $4.80.

The Setup in One Sentence Oracle’s AI cloud pivot is the headline, but the money on the ground is moving into landlords, transformation trades, edge compute suppliers, agentic commerce software, and inference silicon. Applied Digital and HIVE just pulled back hard from recent highs, Rezolve just posted the growth rate of the year, Lantronix has a drone tailwind Washington is directly funding, and Blaize is priced like an option. The names on this list will not stay under the radar much longer.

Up Over 400%, I'm Standing Still on Applied Digital Stock
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
At $45.20, Applied Digital (NASDAQ:APLD) looks fully valued. With shares up 337.56% over the past year off a $9.02 52-week low, the question is whether anything is left to underwrite at this price.

Applied Digital develops liquid-cooled, high-performance computing campuses leased to AI hyperscalers, with 600 MW of contracted capacity tied to roughly $16 billion in prospective revenue across Polaris Forge 1, Polaris Forge 2, and Delta Forge 1. The company transitioned from crypto hosting into hyperscaler leasing just as hyperscaler annual capex climbed from roughly $400 billion to nearly $700 billion, lifting the stock into a $13.2 billion market cap story.

Why the bulls keep pounding the table The operational inflection is real. Q3 FY26 revenue hit $126.64 million, up 139.3% year over year, beating consensus by 61.37%, with adjusted EBITDA swinging to $44.14 million from $6.26 million. CEO Wes Cummins told investors, “We now operate one of the only 100 MW direct-to-chip liquid-cooled data centers online today.”

The pipeline reinforces the thesis: a 15-year, 200 MW hyperscaler lease at Polaris Forge 2 worth roughly $5 billion, a $11 billion expanded CoreWeave contract, and management’s target of $1 billion in NOI within five years. Wall Street is on board. All 11 covering analysts rate the stock a Buy, with a $73.36 consensus target.

Why the bears see a setup, not a story The same quarter that produced the EBITDA inflection also produced a GAAP net loss of $70.56 million and an operating loss of $85.67 million, a 352.24% YoY deterioration. Headline revenue is flattered by low-margin, one-time tenant fit-out work tied almost entirely to CoreWeave, the principal customer flagged in risk disclosures.

The balance sheet has absorbed real damage. Debt has ballooned to roughly $2.7 billion after a $2.15 billion issuance of 6.750% Senior Secured Notes due 2031, while SG&A jumped 251% YoY on accelerated stock vesting. At 41x trailing sales, 8x book, and 526x forward earnings, the multiple leaves no margin of safety.

Why patience beats conviction right now The warning light is insider behavior. Directors Nottenburg and Miller sold shares at $32.00 to $34.98 with no offsetting buys, and the CEO and CFO trimmed common stock at $24.56 to $26.26 before the latest leg higher. Insiders are net sellers while every covering analyst is bullish, a disconnect that historically rewards waiting.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Applied Digital didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

The case for patience hinges on three checkpoints: sustained GAAP profitability rather than adjusted EBITDA optics, customer diversification beyond CoreWeave, and a clean ChronoScale/EKSO Cloud Services spin-off. Until those land, the stock prices in flawless execution on a 700 MW under-construction footprint funded largely by external capital.

What the chart and the targets are saying Shares currently trade at $45.20, up 84.34% year to date and 337.56% over the past year, against an S&P 500 that has returned 9.16% YTD and 25.26% over one year. The $73.36 consensus target across 11 analysts implies 62.3% upside, with 2 Strong Buy and 9 Buy ratings and no Holds or Sells. Targets remain one directional input for a 5.64 beta name trading near its $50.73 52-week high.

The valuation backdrop is unforgiving. EV/revenue sits at 45x, price/book at 8x, and trailing EPS is -$0.38. Composite sentiment scores a bullish 63.96 at medium confidence, capturing the moment well: constructive with room to run.

The verdict: standing still at $45 At $45.20, the risk/reward looks balanced. Buying here asks investors to underwrite multi-year execution on a 4 GW active pipeline while GAAP losses widen, capex consumes cash, and the principal customer remains a single counterparty. The reward for getting it right is the path to $1 billion of NOI. The penalty for getting it wrong is a name that has already moved more than 4x off its low and trades at 41x sales.

Upgrade conditions are clear: a pullback toward long-term support around $28.00, a clean ChronoScale spin-off, evidence of a second anchor tenant beyond CoreWeave, and operating cash flow that turns positive without leaning on tenant fit-out revenue. Downgrade conditions are equally clear: a CoreWeave timing slip, a missed Polaris Forge 2 milestone, or another large, dilutive capital raise into a softer tape.

The cost of patience is opportunity cost if the AI capex cycle accelerates further. The cost of acting prematurely is owning a richly valued, high-beta builder right as insiders quietly walk out the door. Standing still is the right call because the chart has already paid bulls, while the income statement has not yet paid anyone.

Applied Digital CEO: AI Industry Will See “Pretty Significant Delays Through 2026 and 2027”
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text

Applied Digital Chairman and CEO Wes Cummins delivered a message on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street about the AI data center buildout. According to Cummins, historically only about 10% of large-scale industrial construction projects deliver on time, and he expects the AI infrastructure space to see “pretty significant delays through 2026 and 2027,” driven primarily by labor-force constraints that he says will only intensify from here.

That backdrop matters because hyperscaler demand has gone vertical. On the company’s most recent earnings call, Cummins noted that hyperscaler annual capital expenditure references jumped from approximately $400 billion to nearly $700 billion in just three months, with Cummins describing “intense pressure on power and infrastructure” as the defining feature of the cycle. If supply slips while demand surges, operators with capacity already online have outsized pricing and renewal leverage.

Applied Digital’s Edge: Modular Builds and Labor-Light Geographies Cummins says Applied Digital (NASDAQ:APLD) is “not seeing delays personally” and is turning on another building this week. He attributes that to starting earlier than peers, back in 2023 and 2024, and “stubbing its toe” enough times to refine a modular, offsite-assembly approach. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components are pre-assembled into “lego brick”-style units that ship to site, reducing onsite headcount at exactly the moment when skilled construction labor is the binding constraint.

Geography matters too. Cummins says the company deliberately avoids labor-saturated markets like West Texas, instead building three campuses in North Dakota, one in Louisiana, and additional sites across southern states where labor competition is lower, and community support is stronger. He describes running five campuses at once using a “franchise model” that repeats a standardized design across regions. Federal wage data supports the underlying labor-tightness thesis: average hourly earnings rose to $37.53 in May 2026, with the unemployment rate stuck in a 4.3-4.4% band through the first five months of 2026.

The Numbers Behind the Thesis The financials are starting to validate the operational story. In fiscal Q3 2026, Applied Digital posted revenue of $126.64 million, up 139.29% year over year and topping consensus by 61.37%. Adjusted EPS came in at $0.09 against a -$0.21 estimate, the fourth consecutive quarter of beating expectations. Adjusted EBITDA jumped to $44.14 million from $6.26 million a year earlier.

June brought another wave of commercial wins. A new 210 MW Delta Forge 2 lease with an investment-grade hyperscaler brought total contracted revenue to roughly $36 billion across five campuses, and Applied Digital priced $1.59 billion of 7.000% senior secured notes due 2031 to fund a 150 MW expansion at Polaris Forge 1. $APLD has been on a roll, with shares up 59.71% year to date and 270.83% over the trailing year, though the past week saw a 15.95% pullback.

What to Watch Wall Street remains bullish, with an average analyst price target of $73.36 vs a current share price of $37.80. The stock has nine Buy plus two Strong Buy ratings, with no Holds or Sells.

Applied Digital has built a sizable backlog, yet roughly 70% of its contracted revenue is tied to CoreWeave or another single hyperscaler. If the industry-wide labor shortages Cummins expects materialize while Applied Digital continues bringing new capacity online on schedule, the company could widen its competitive advantage. If its own projects begin slipping, however, that same operating leverage could quickly work against it.

Could Applied Digital (APLD) Stock Triple by 2030?
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
It's a good question: Could Applied Digital (APLD 4.84%) shares triple in value by 2030? After all, its shares have more than quadrupled in price over the past year!

My answer to the question is this: It could. No one can know for sure how any stock will perform in the short term, and there's both a bullish and a bearish case for Applied Digital.

Applied Digital is operating in a sweet spot these days, as it specializes in building data centers for artificial intelligence (AI) processing. That's a promising field, as Goldman Sachs has projected that U.S. data center energy demand will double by next year. Applied Digital builds and then leases out lots of data centers, and projects at least $36 billion in lifetime lease revenue from its contracts so far -- and potentially as much as $86 billion.

The company is growing briskly. Its third quarter featured revenue up 139% year over year, and a net loss of $101 million, down 179%. If it keeps signing contracts, it might end up raking in far more than that $86 billion in revenue mentioned above.

Why might Applied Digital not triple by 2030? A key reason why Applied Digital might not triple within a few years is that it's quite richly valued at recent levels. Its price-to-sales ratio recently hit a very high 31, for example. So it might retract on its own if there's some bad or even potentially bad news (such as a customer backing out of a contract), and it might fall sharply if there's a market downturn -- as many growth stocks might.

On top of that, Applied Digital has been taking on a lot of debt in order to build its data centers, and so far, it's not turning a profit. Overall, it looks like a risky proposition to me. If you want a piece of it, perhaps bite off a small piece, invest in it over time, or just wait for a more compelling stock price.

Montana-Dakota Utilities Announces Electric Service Agreement with Applied Digital for Proposed AI Factory
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
, /PRNewswire/ -- MDU Resources Group, Inc.'s (NYSE: MDU) subsidiary, Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., has entered into an electric service agreement (ESA) with Applied Digital Corporation (NASDAQ: APLD) to provide power to Polaris Forge 3, an AI Factory near Center, North Dakota.

At full capacity, the campus would require 430 megawatts of electricity. Under the ESA, Applied Digital would be responsible for the costs of purchasing the energy directly from the market or through other power supply arrangements. Applied Digital anticipates initial operations to commence in August 2027.

Polaris Forge 3 will expand Applied Digital's footprint in North Dakota, where the company is developing purpose-built campuses designed to support high-density artificial intelligence workloads. Applied Digital has previously announced a 15-year lease with a U.S. based high investment-grade hyperscaler for this site.

"Polaris Forge 3 is another example of how Applied Digital is turning power into operational AI capacity through disciplined execution and long-term partnerships," said Wes Cummins, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital. "This campus is expected to create approximately 200 full-time jobs, generate meaningful property tax revenue and support long-term growth across Oliver County and the surrounding region. We believe AI infrastructure should create value well beyond the campus, and we're proud to continue building in North Dakota."

Montana-Dakota Utilities currently serves Applied Digital at Polaris Forge 1, its AI Factory near Ellendale, North Dakota, where the companies have worked together to integrate significant power demand while maintaining reliable, cost-effective service for customers, crediting $38.4 million back to North Dakota customers over the past three years.

"This proposed project reflects the growing interest in North Dakota as a location for large energy users," said Nicole Kivisto, president and CEO of MDU Resources. "We are committed to serving these customers in a way that benefits our communities, supports the regional grid and delivers value to our customers."

Approval of the ESA and other regulatory filings by the North Dakota Public Service Commission is required for the company to provide power under the agreement with Applied Digital.

3 Reasons Why Investors Should Stay Away From APLD Stock Right Now
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways APLD's growth remains tied to a small group of hyperscale customers, creating concentration risk.APLD is developing multiple AI Factory campuses while investing in cooling and power solutions.APLD trades at a premium valuation despite ongoing losses and rising leverage concerns. Applied Digital (APLD - Free Report) presents a concerning investment picture that should give potential investors serious pause. Shares of the AI data center developer have appreciated 89.5% in the year-to-date period, outpacing the broader Zacks Finance sector’s 3% return and the Financial - Miscellaneous Services industry’s decline of 8.2% over the same period.

APLD's explosive rally reflects investor enthusiasm surrounding artificial intelligence infrastructure and high-performance computing demand. However, such strong momentum can sometimes overshadow underlying risks. A closer examination of the company's fundamentals suggests the stock's recent strength may be difficult to sustain.

APLD’s YTD Performance

Let's take a closer look to understand why investors should stay away from APLD stock right now.

APLD's Customer Concentration Remains a Structural RiskAlthough APLD has significantly expanded its commercial footprint, customer concentration remains a key risk. The company has grown its contracted revenue base to approximately $36 billion across five campuses, with nearly 70% backed by investment-grade counterparties. Despite this progress, a substantial portion of APLD's long-term growth expectations continues to depend on a relatively small group of hyperscale customers. Competitors such as IREN (IREN - Free Report) and Vertiv Holdings (VRT - Free Report) are aggressively expanding their own AI infrastructure capabilities, intensifying the competition for incremental hyperscale commitments.

CoreWeave (CRWV - Free Report) remains one of APLD's most important tenants and has played a central role in the company's rapid expansion. CoreWeave carries a substantial debt load of its own, meaning any deterioration in its GPU rental economics or capital structure could have an outsized impact on APLD's earnings visibility. Any slowdown in AI infrastructure investments, changes in deployment plans or weaker demand for GPU capacity could adversely affect future growth prospects.

This risk is further amplified by APLD's capital-intensive business model, which requires substantial ongoing investment in new campuses and infrastructure. IREN has demonstrated how swiftly credible players can secure large-scale hyperscaler agreements, while Vertiv Holdings continues deepening relationships with the same hyperscale customer base, potentially limiting APLD's growth opportunities over time.

APLD Prioritizes Simultaneous Investment Over ProfitabilityAPLD continues to pursue an ambitious growth strategy that requires substantial capital deployment well ahead of earnings generation. The company is simultaneously developing multiple AI Factory campuses, funding successive construction phases and investing in supporting technologies such as advanced liquid-cooling infrastructure and proprietary waterless cooling solutions. It has also extended credit support to Base Electron, an independent power producer being developed to expand power availability across the Dakotas. Yet despite the expanding investment footprint, a clear path to sustainable profitability remains absent.

The financial impact of this strategy is becoming increasingly visible. Despite reporting third-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue growth of 139% year over year, APLD posted a net loss of 36 cents per share. The company ended the quarter with approximately $2.1 billion in cash and cash equivalents against $2.7 billion in debt. Its leverage profile has since increased following the issuance of an additional $1.59 billion in senior secured notes. Meanwhile, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 loss is pegged at 68 cents per share, widening by 7 cents over the past 30 days, reflecting growing concerns over the timing of meaningful earnings generation.

APLD Shares Are OvervaluedAPLD shares are overvalued as suggested by a Zacks Value Score of F. The stock trades at a forward price-to-sales multiple of 16.95X, a steep premium to the Zacks industry multiple of 2.81X and the broader sector multiple of 8.82X. Against peers, the disconnect is stark, with IREN trading at 8.22X and Vertiv Holdings at 7.73X.

This premium is difficult to justify given APLD's continued dependence on CoreWeave as its anchor tenant, an expanding investment mandate that is outpacing earnings generation and the absence of a clear near-term path to profitability.

APLD’s Forward 12 Months (P/S) Valuation

ConclusionDespite rapid revenue growth and an expanding campus portfolio, APLD's path to profitability remains long and uncertain. Persistent net losses, a heavily leveraged balance sheet, continued dependence on a handful of hyperscale customers and a stretched valuation present meaningful near-term risk.

APLD currently carries a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), suggesting that investors should stay away from the stock for now.

APLD's Customer Concentration Remains Elevated: Is Growth at Risk?
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways Applied Digital derives nearly 90% of contracted lease revenues from just two hyperscale customers.Growth depends on Delta Forge and Polaris Forge projects expected to begin operations in 2027-2028.Applied Digital faces a higher customer concentration risk than its peers. Applied Digital's (APLD - Free Report) customer concentration remains elevated despite continued efforts to diversify its hyperscale customer base. APLD has expanded its development pipeline and is actively pursuing additional leasing opportunities, but contracted revenue remains heavily concentrated among a limited number of customers, creating an ongoing risk to long-term revenue visibility.

The concentration remains significant. Of the company's approximately $36 billion in total contracted lease revenues, $11 billion is attributable to CoreWeave, while a separate hyperscaler anchors Delta Forge 1, Polaris Forge 3 and Delta Forge 2 and accounts for $20 billion. The remaining $5 billion is tied to a third hyperscaler at Polaris Forge 2. Together, just two customers represent close to 90% of total contracted revenues, leaving long-term growth tightly bound to the demand and credit trajectory of a narrow set of counterparties.

The risk becomes more pronounced as Applied Digital expands its AI data center platform. Initial operations at Delta Forge 1, Polaris Forge 3 and Delta Forge 2 are not expected until 2027 and 2028, meaning future growth will depend heavily on the successful execution and continued expansion of existing customer relationships. While the company continues to market additional development sites and broaden its hyperscaler pipeline, customer diversification has not kept pace with the growth in contracted capacity.

Hence, any slowdown in deployment plans, capital spending or credit quality among Applied Digital's largest customers could have an outsized impact on future revenue growth. Until the company adds customers capable of contributing significantly to the revenue, concentration risk is likely to remain a key overhang.

APLD Faces Stiff CompetitionApplied Digital's customer concentration remains significantly higher than that of its peers, Equinix (EQIX - Free Report) and Digital Realty Trust (DLR - Free Report) . Equinix benefits from a highly diversified customer base spanning enterprises, cloud providers and network operators, while Digital Realty Trust generates revenue from a broad mix of hyperscale and colocation customers. In contrast, Applied Digital derives the majority of its contracted lease revenues from a handful of hyperscale customers.

Unlike Equinix and Digital Realty Trust, which are less dependent on any single tenant, Applied Digital remains exposed to customer-specific spending decisions and counterparty risks.

APLD’s Share Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesApplied Digital’s shares have returned 88.7% year to date, while the broader Zacks Finance sector has declined  3.7% and the Zacks Financial-Miscellaneous Services industry has plunged 6%.

This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure Stock Has Been Crushing Nvidia on the Market. Its Latest Deal Could Send the Stock Even Higher
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Nvidia is one of the biggest names in the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure space since the mainstream adoption of the technology began nearly four years ago, and that's not surprising, as its chips have played an instrumental role in training popular AI models.

However, the AI infrastructure ecosystem has expanded beyond Nvidia. Several companies are witnessing phenomenal growth in their businesses due to significant investments in AI data centers. Applied Digital (APLD +8.83%) is one such company. Its stock has jumped 282% over the past year, well above the 44% jump in Nvidia stock over the same period.

The good news is that it isn't too late to buy Applied Digital stock, as the company has a massive revenue pipeline that keeps getting bigger. Let's see why this AI infrastructure stock has room to run higher.

Applied Digital's business model sets the company up for solid long-term growth Applied Digital is a pick-and-shovel AI infrastructure company. It designs, builds, and operates dedicated data centers for running AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The company builds data centers in line with the requirements of hyperscalers and neocloud companies and generates lease revenue by operating those data centers.

Applied Digital recently announced that it has signed a new long-term lease agreement to build an AI factory for a U.S.-based hyperscaler. The company will provide 210 megawatts (MW) of cloud computing capacity to this hyperscaler over 15 years for $5.2 billion. Applied Digital adds that this contract could extend to 30 years, potentially generating $12.7 billion in lifetime lease revenue if its customer exercises all the renewal options.

What's worth noting is that this is the third long-term lease that Applied Digital has entered into with this particular hyperscaler. The AI infrastructure specialist now has contracts to build five AI factory campuses. It expects to generate $36 billion in lifetime lease revenue in a base-case scenario from all of its contracts.

Applied Digital points out that its lease revenue pipeline could jump to $86 billion if all the renewal options are exercised by its existing customers. Not surprisingly, the company's growth is expected to take off, paving the way for more upside.

The company is at the beginning of a massive growth curve Applied Digital's revenue in the recently concluded fiscal 2026 (which ended last month) is estimated to have jumped by 96% to $422 million. The phenomenal lease pipeline explains why analysts are anticipating a significant acceleration in the company's revenue growth.

Data by YCharts

Applied Digital can sustain such outstanding growth beyond the next couple of fiscal years by building more data centers, which should allow it to convert its lease agreements into revenue. Of course, the stock is expensive at 35 times sales, but it has a strong enough pipeline to justify that multiple.

That's why it isn't too late for investors to buy Applied Digital, as this AI infrastructure play is just getting started.

Applied Digital NASDAQ: APLD recently finalized a 15-year, 210-megawatt lease at its Delta Forge 2 campus, signaling a definitive transition from a high-beta crypto miner to a tier-one digital infrastructure landlord.

While retail investors temporarily dumped shares over macroeconomic inflation jitters and near-term debt mechanics, institutional capital recognizes a business holding approximately $36 billion in total contracted base-term lease revenue, with roughly 70% backed by U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscalers.

Get Applied Digital alerts:

The artificial intelligence (AI) land grab is accelerating, and hyperscalers require dedicated power and cooling at a scale previously unseen in commercial real estate. By securing a $5.2 billion baseline revenue commitment, expandable to $12.7 billion if all 30-year renewal options are exercised, Applied Digital locks in the long-term cash flow profile required to dominate the next decade of infrastructure deployment.

With an $11.1 billion market capitalization and a 139% year-over-year top-line revenue expansion, Applied Digital commands a premium valuation based largely on its ability to build high-density campuses faster than legacy data center operators. Operations for Delta Forge 2 are targeted to commence in the first quarter of 2028, effectively setting a hard date for when these multi-billion-dollar contracts begin generating actual yield.

This Isn't Debt, It's Rocket FuelMarkets often struggle to distinguish between short-term capital expenditure requirements and long-term value creation. Applied Digital recently suffered an intraday contraction of 5.7%, sending its share price down to the $39 zone.

Applied Digital Corporation (APLD) Price Chart for Friday, June, 12, 2026

Retail sentiment quickly soured on the news that subsidiary Applied Digital ComputeCo 3 priced a $1.59 billion offering of 7.000% senior secured notes due 2031. This isolated price action, heavily influenced by a broader tech sector retreat ahead of May consumer price index data, masks the fundamental strength of Applied Digital's underlying asset base.

The $1.59 billion debt issuance is not reckless corporate borrowing to fund operational deficits. Applied Digital specified that the proceeds will be used primarily for constructing a 150-megawatt fourth building, designated ELN-04, at the Polaris Forge 1 campus in North Dakota.

A portion of the proceeds will also be used to retire a high-interest bridge loan previously secured from Goldman Sachs. When you match these near-term leverage requirements against the massive 1.4-gigawatt contracted critical IT load across the five-campus portfolio, the debt mechanics reflect highly sophisticated capital alignment.

Applied Digital is leveraging predictable, contracted cash flows to bridge immediate development phases. A recently closed revolving credit facility with up to $350 million of committed capacity and an additional $200 million accordion option provides the necessary liquidity runway to maintain construction timelines. The subsequent 9.5% after-hours volume surge illustrates institutional investors stepping in to capitalize on the retail misunderstanding of this secured debt structure.

Applied Digital's Waterless Moat Is Its Secret WeaponComparing Applied Digital to hardware-centric peers will help investors understand the company's strategic operational pivot. Companies like IREN NASDAQ: IREN and CoreWeave NASDAQ: CRWV assume more direct hardware depreciation risk by constantly purchasing and leasing the latest generation of graphics processing units.

Applied Digital operates more like an infrastructure landlord. The client supplies the highly volatile compute hardware; Applied Digital supplies the facility, the power, and the cooling. This facilit-first real estate model may help operating margins from rapid silicon obsolescence. Legacy miners like Core Scientific NASDAQ: CORZ are attempting similar pivots, but few possess the capital backing to execute at the gigawatt scale.

The unnamed counterparty at Delta Forge 2 is the same U.S.-based, investment-grade hyperscaler responsible for the two previous major leases across Applied Digital’s portfolio. This level of vendor stickiness is a strong validation of the underlying technology stack.

Delta Forge 2, located in an undisclosed southern state, will exclusively use proprietary waterless cooling technology alongside high-power-density infrastructure. As grid access tightens and nationwide environmental regulations on water use become more stringent, waterless cooling shifts from a luxury feature to a potential competitive advantage for massive training and inference workloads.

Today, 70% of Applied Digital's $36 billion base-term revenue backlog is supported by U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscalers, demonstrating that the market demands exactly what Applied Digital is building.

From High-Beta Bet to Blue-Chip BlueprintApplied Digital's valuation multiples currently skew toward extreme growth expectations rather than present-day profitability. A price-to-sales ratio of 35 and a trailing 12-month earnings per share loss of 74 cents reflect an organization operating at the absolute peak of its capital expenditure cycle. The current balance sheet debt-to-equity ratio sits at 1.65, a necessary byproduct of scaling multibillion-dollar facilities.

Despite the significant capital outlays, the execution risk narrative is shifting rapidly.

Northland Capital Markets analysts recently validated this infrastructure transition, projecting that execution risk will sharply decline between 2026 and 2027 as project deliverables go online. The analyst also stated that significant multiple expansion was possible, pushing the valuation toward 15x as tangible cash flows materialize.

The broader analyst community agrees, maintaining a consensus price target of $67.67, which represents over 70% upside from current levels.

Institutional investors reinforce this bullish outlook, as the $7.02 million in shares sold in the last quarter is vastly overshadowed by the $94 million spent on purchases. While some corporate insiders recently executed structured selling programs, these distributions reflect standard equity compensation realization rather than a broader executive exodus.

Short interest remains at healthy levels, suggesting the recent price action is driven purely by fundamental repositioning.

The elevated beta of 5.69 for Applied Digital remains a lagging indicator, permanently tethered to past life managing volatile cryptocurrency operations.

As the market digests the bond-like cash flow profile created by 15-year take-or-pay utility contracts, the equity will naturally re-rate. Institutional capital values the predictability of digital real estate multiples over the cyclicality of legacy bitcoin mining revenue.

Capturing Value Before the Walls Go UpShifting a multibillion-dollar business model from digital asset speculation to institutional real estate requires heavy capital deployment, and pricing volatility remains the admission price for early allocators. Applied Digital already holds the binding hyperscaler commitments necessary to support its corporate transition, shielding the balance sheet from some of the inherent cyclicality of the broader semiconductor and computing markets.

While current profitability metrics appear heavily depressed due to massive infrastructure investments, the forward-looking cash flows are supported by contracted hyperscaler leases rather than guaranteed by completed operations. The transition from construction to operation over the next 24 months will serve as the primary catalyst for sustained valuation expansion.

Investors may want to add Applied Digital to their watchlist, as the company is rapidly bringing its Delta Forge 2 and Polaris Forge 1 campuses online. Those with a higher risk tolerance might consider utilizing the current debt-driven price volatility as an entry point before the broader market fully prices in the $36 billion contracted revenue backlog.

Applied Digital: 1-Month Lease Gap Signals Aggressive Hyperscaler Demand
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
The Polaris Forge 3 lease expands Applied Digital's contracted backlog to $31 billion, 67% of which is tied to investment-grade hyperscaler, which could unlock cheap project financing. The 1-month gap between the Delta Forge 1 and Polaris Forge 3 leases suggests that the same customer is likely to lease the remaining 300 MW site in the near-term. The short gap also points to a broader trend of hyperscalers securing compute capacity for 2027-2028 deployments, in time for the rollout of Nvidia's Rubin Ultra and Feynman GPU architectures.

Why Is Everyone Suddenly Paying Attention to Applied Digital Stock? Here's Why You Should Care.
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News

Applied Digital (APLD +5.91%) has suddenly become one of the most talked-about stocks in the artificial intelligence space.

At first glance, that may seem strange. The company does not build AI models. It does not design cutting-edge semiconductors, and it certainly is not the household name that Nvidia has become.

So why are investors suddenly paying attention?

The answer lies in a critical bottleneck that could shape the future of artificial intelligence. As technology companies race to deploy more AI systems, they are discovering that securing enough electricity and data center capacity may be just as important as securing graphics processing units (GPUs).

That is where Applied Digital comes in. The company is quietly positioning itself as a supplier of the infrastructure needed to power the AI revolution.

Applied Digital is building the foundation beneath the AI boom Most investors think of AI as a software story. Others focus on chipmakers such as Nvidia that provide the computing power behind large language models.

But every AI workload ultimately requires a physical home. Massive clusters of GPUs need electricity, cooling systems, networking equipment, and specialized facilities capable of operating around the clock.

Applied Digital builds and operates those facilities. Rather than competing directly with AI companies, the business is attempting to become a critical infrastructure provider to the industry's biggest spenders.

In many ways, Applied Digital is pursuing a simple strategy: build the digital real estate that AI companies cannot operate without.

The real opportunity is bigger than most investors realize The AI industry is facing a problem that receives less attention than the latest model releases -- there is not enough infrastructure.

Major technology companies are spending hundreds of billions of dollars to expand their AI capabilities. Yet bringing new data center capacity online takes years and requires significant land, power, cooling equipment, and capital.

That shortage of resources (particularly electricity) has transformed data centers from a boring corner of the technology industry into one of the most valuable assets in the AI ecosystem. For Applied Digital, that shift could be transformational.

The company recently announced its second long-term hyperscaler agreement, which pushed its contracted lease revenue into the tens of billions of dollars. For a business of its size -- the company generated just $127 million in revenue in the latest quarter -- those numbers are difficult for investors to ignore.

More importantly, they suggest that some of the world's largest technology companies are already planning for AI demand that extends many years into the future, and Applied Digital is playing an important role in that.

A landlord to the AI revolution One of the most interesting ways to think about Applied Digital is as a landlord. Landlords do not need to know which of their tenants will become the most successful. They simply provide the space.

Applied Digital's AI Factory is designed to do something similar. As demand for AI infrastructure grows, the company hopes to lease power, cooling, and data center capacity to hyperscaler customers that need to deploy thousands of GPUs.

That approach offers an important advantage. Rather than betting on which AI model will win, which chatbot will gain market share, or which software platform will dominate, investors are gaining exposure to the infrastructure layer that supports the entire ecosystem.

If AI continues expanding, demand for that infrastructure could grow regardless of which companies ultimately emerge as the biggest winners.

Why investors should care Despite all this, Applied Digital remains a speculative investment. The company still faces execution and financing risks, as well as the challenge of completing large-scale projects on time.

Yet those risks are precisely why many investors are paying attention. AI is not just creating demand for software and semiconductors. It is also creating demand for the power-hungry infrastructure that enables those technologies.

Applied Digital aims to supply it.

Whether the company ultimately becomes a major winner remains to be seen. But as AI spending accelerates and infrastructure shortages persist, it is becoming increasingly clear why investors should have Applied Digital on their radar.

Why Applied Digital Stock Skyrocketed 38% Last Month But Is Sinking in June
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Applied Digital (APLD +5.91%) roared higher in May's trading, bounding 38% higher across the stretch. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose 5.2% in the month, and the Nasdaq Composite jumped 8.4%.

Investors were strongly bullish on the artificial intelligence (AI) trade last month, and many big names in the category saw massive valuation gains. Despite a pullback in June's trading, Applied Digital stock is up roughly 66% in 2026.

May was a big month for Applied Digital Along with bullish momentum for AI stocks, Applied Digital's valuation also moved higher in conjunction with some business-specific news last month. For starters, the company published a press release on May 4 announcing that it had secured new funding through a $300 million senior secured bridge facility. Applied Digital said that it would use the money to fund the construction of its third AI data center.

The next day, the company announced that it had completed the separation of its cloud business. As a result of the deal, the cloud unit was taken over by EKSO -- which then changed its name to ChronoScale Corporation. The renamed business began trading on the Nasdaq exchange the same day.

On May 20, Applied Digital announced that it had entered into a long-term lease agreement to facilitate the opening of its fourth AI data center. The company said that the facility will deliver 300 megawatts (MW) of critical IT load and be supported by roughly 430 of grid-connected utility power. Along with the news, multiple analysts raised their respective price targets for Applied Digital stock.

After massive rallies last month, AI stocks appear to be taking a bit of a breather early in June's trading. As of this writing, Applied Digital stock is down roughly 13.5% in the month. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is down 1.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite is off 3.5%.

Following a stronger-than-expected jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics last Friday, investors have become increasingly concerned that the Federal Reserve could move to raise interest rates this year. With inflationary pressures on the rise recently, the Fed could vote to implement a rate hike in hopes of reversing the trend.

Relatively strong jobs growth makes it less likely that the central banking authority will vote for a rate cut to support economic activity and more likely that it will prioritize fighting inflation. If the Fed pivots to raising rates, it could create strong valuation pressures for Applied Digital and other highly growth-dependent AI stocks.

Can Applied Digital's Power Strategy Accelerate its Next Growth Leg?
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Key Takeaways APLD is building growth around utility-connected power for AI data center deployments.Applied Digital's North Dakota campuses offer low-cost power and favorable cooling conditions.APLD backs grid expansion via Base Electron, targeting about 1.2 GW of gas-fired capacity. Applied Digital (APLD - Free Report) is building its next growth phase around power infrastructure, which is becoming an increasingly important factor in AI data center deployment. As hyperscalers continue expanding AI workloads, access to reliable and scalable power is expected to play a larger role in data center site selection. APLD's strategy of securing utility-connected power capacity and developing campuses in energy-abundant regions could strengthen its position in the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market.

The company's North Dakota campuses are expected to provide a competitive advantage through access to low-cost grid power, favorable cooling conditions and an established operating footprint. These factors may help APLD offer customers long-term efficiency benefits while supporting the economics of multi-year hyperscale leases. The company already has 1.2 gigawatts of critical IT capacity under contract and is actively marketing additional development sites with more than 3.5 gigawatts of utility-connected power capacity. As AI infrastructure demand rises, these assets could support future leasing activity and expand APLD's revenue base.

Beyond securing existing power resources, APLD is seeking to support future power availability through its relationship with Base Electron, an independent power producer working with Babcock & Wilcox. The initiative is expected to add approximately 1.2 gigawatts of natural gas-fired generation capacity to the Dakotas grid. This grid-expansion approach aligns with the utility-connected infrastructure model preferred by many hyperscale customers.

However, execution remains critical. Power projects require regulatory approvals, utility coordination and timely infrastructure development. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for APLD's fiscal 2026 revenues is pegged at $395.4 million, indicating 83.48% year-over-year growth. The company's ability to translate its power strategy into additional contracted capacity and new hyperscale leases will likely determine whether it can sustain its next leg of growth.

APLD Faces Stiff CompetitionApplied Digital faces stiff competition from Vertiv Holdings (VRT - Free Report) and nVent Electric (NVT - Free Report) in addressing power and thermal constraints across AI infrastructure. Vertiv Holdings and nVent Electric operate equipment-vendor models that distribute risk across multiple customers, require less capital per megawatt and carry limited exposure to project-level delays or utility coordination timelines.

Applied Digital's growth trajectory, unlike that of Vertiv and nVent Electric, remains directly tied to how effectively its utility-connected power pipeline converts into operational campuses and contracted hyperscale lease revenues.

APLD’s Share Price Performance, Valuation & EstimatesApplied Digital shares have surged 61.6% year to date, outperforming the broader Zacks Finance sector’s decline of 11.2% and the Zacks Financial-Miscellaneous Services industry’s decline of 1.6%.

Applied Digital stock is trading at a forward 12-month price/sales of 14.45X compared with the broader sector’s 2.81X.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 loss is pegged at 68 cents per share, up by 16 cents over the past 30 days. Applied Digital reported a loss of 80 cents per share in the previous year.

Applied Digital Signs 210 MW Lease at Delta Forge 2, Expanding Its AI Factory Franchise Model to a Fifth Campus
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
DALLAS, June 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Applied Digital (NASDAQ: APLD), a designer, builder, and operator of high-performance, sustainably engineered data centers and colocation services for artificial intelligence, cloud, networking, and blockchain workloads, today announced it has entered into a new long-term lease agreement at Delta Forge 2, a purpose-built AI Factory campus located in a new southern state. The lease is with a U.S. based high investment-grade hyperscaler, marking the company’s fifth AI Factory campus overall.

The agreement covers 210 MW of critical IT load under a 15-year take-or-pay structure with renewal options, representing approximately $5.2 billion in base-term contracted revenue, or approximately $12.7 billion if all renewal options are exercised over a 30-year total term.

“Two years ago, we made a deliberate decision to build a company that scales, not just builds data centers,” said Wes Cummins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Applied Digital. “We call it our franchise model — a core team of design, construction, and operations professionals replicated across every campus, in every market. Continued demand from leading hyperscalers across five campuses is strong validation of our model.”

With this agreement, which represents Applied Digital’s third long-term lease with the same U.S. based investment-grade hyperscaler, the company’s contracted portfolio spans five AI Factory campuses, representing 1.4 GW of critical IT load, approximately 2.15 GW of grid-connected utility power, and approximately $36 billion in total contracted base-term lease revenue, or $86 billion if all renewal options are exercised. Approximately 70% of contracted revenue is now backed by U.S. based investment-grade hyperscalers.

Applied Digital’s site selection strategy prioritizes communities where large-scale, long-duration infrastructure investment creates meaningful and lasting economic impact, including local employment, an expanded tax base, and sustained economic activity over the life of each project.

“We are deliberate about where we build,” Cummins continued. “We look for communities where this kind of investment genuinely matters — where the jobs, the tax base, and the long-term economic activity have real impact. We have built a track record of being good partners to those communities, and we take that responsibility seriously. That track record is part of how we earn the right to keep building.”

Delta Forge 2 is expected to bring meaningful local employment, construction activity to its host community. The campus integrates Applied Digital’s proprietary waterless cooling technology and high-power density infrastructure, purpose-built for the compute densities required by large-scale AI training and inference workloads. Initial operations are anticipated to commence in Q1 2028.

To see this community model in practice, Applied Digital’s documentary series Behind the Build offers a ground-level look at how Applied Digital constructs its AI Factory campuses alongside the communities they call home.

Applied Digital Locks In $5.2 Billion Lease with Hyperscaler
APLD Applied Digital
FMP Stock News
Original source text
Applied Digital APLD rose 10.34% in premarket after the company announced a 15-year, take-or-pay lease at its Delta Forge 2 campus covering 210 MW of critical IT load, with a U.S. investment-grade hyperscaler. The deal is expected to generate approximately $5.2 billion in base-term revenue, rising to roughly $12.7 billion if all renewal options are exercised over a 30-year total term. It marks the third long-term lease Applied Digital has signed with the same hyperscaler.

The agreement brings Applied Digital's contracted portfolio to five AI Factory campuses, spanning 1.4 GW of critical IT load and approximately 2.15 GW of grid-connected utility power. Total contracted base-term lease revenue now stands at $36 billion, or approximately $86 billion if all renewal options are exercised. Around 70% of contracted revenue is backed by U.S. investment-grade hyperscalers.

Delta Forge 2, located in a new southern state, uses Applied Digital's proprietary waterless cooling and high-density power infrastructure purpose-built for large-scale AI training and inference workloads. Initial operations are expected to begin in Q1 2028.

The DealThe Bigger PictureThe Delta Forge 2 deal brings Applied Digital’s total contracted portfolio to approximately $36 billion across five AI Factory campuses — or $86 billion if all renewal options are exercised. The portfolio now spans 1.4 GW of critical IT load and approximately 2.15 GW of gross grid-connected utility power, with roughly 70% of contracted revenue backed by U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscalers.

“Two years ago, we made a deliberate decision to build a company that scales, not just builds data centers,” said CEO Wes Cummins. “Continued demand from leading hyperscalers across five campuses is strong validation of our model.”

The RunThe announcement comes after a remarkable stretch of deal activity. Applied Digital signed a $7.5 billion lease at Polaris Forge 3 late last month, and the stock has surged over 180% in the past 12 months. Shares closed up 3.34% Monday before extending gains nearly 9% in after-hours trading on the Delta Forge 2 news.

FMP Stock News
Original source text
Applied Digital APLD shares jumped about 10% on early Tuesday after the company said it signed a long-term lease tied to its AI data center expansion.

The agreement covers 210 megawatts of critical IT load at Delta Forge 2, Applied Digital's next campus in North Dakota. Applied Digital said the customer is a U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscaler, a large cloud provider that buys major blocks of computing capacity.

The 15-year take-or-pay contract could bring in about $5.2 billion in base-term revenue, with that figure rising to as much as $12.7 billion if renewal options are used. Applied Digital said the deal lifts its total contracted base-term lease revenue to $36 billion, or up to $86 billion including renewals.

Applied Digital said Delta Forge 2 is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2028. The site is designed to support AI training and inference workloads, which are the processes used to build and run artificial intelligence systems.

Prediction: This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock Will Be Worth 2 Times as Much by the End of 2026

Applied Digital (APLD +6.65%) builds power-heavy data center campuses that hyperscalers need to train and run advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models.

Shares of Applied Digital are up over 67% so far in 2026. Doubling from its current share price of $40.94 (as of June 8) by the end of 2026 appears ambitious. However, Applied Digital's contracted revenue base shows investors a path that makes such a scenario possible.

Fundamental prospects are improving fast Applied Digital now operates one of the few 100-megawatt AI data centers that use advanced liquid-cooling technology to manage the heat generated by power-intensive AI chips. This has positioned the company as a credible player with demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale, high-density AI infrastructure.

While Applied Digital's first 100-megawatt building at Polaris Forge 1 is already operational, the second 150-megawatt building is expected to come online during 2026. CoreWeave is the key customer at Polaris Forge 1, with 400 megawatts of contracted AI data center capacity.

At Polaris Forge 2 campus, Applied Digital expects the initial capacity under its 200-megawatt hyperscaler lease to come online in calendar 2026, with full capacity anticipated by early 2027. Hence, Applied Digital is now evolving from a speculative data center developer to a revenue-earning artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure platform.

Applied Digital's contracted capacity is also impressive. It contracted nearly 1.2 gigawatts of AI data center capacity across its four AI Factory campuses by May 2026. Those campuses are supported by about 1.67 gigawatts of total grid power.

In June 2026, Applied Digital strengthened its backlog by signing a new 15-year lease worth $5.2 billion with a U.S.-based hyperscaler covering 210 megawatts of AI data-center capacity. Applied Digital now has $36 billion in contracted base-term lease revenue, which could increase to $86 billion if all renewal options are exercised. Since U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscalers account for 70% of contracted capacity, the backlog is also of high quality.

However, Applied Digital reported a net loss of $100.9 million and exited the third quarter of fiscal 2026 (ending Feb. 28) with $2.7 billion of debt.

The share price may double by the end of 2026 For Applied Digital's share price to double from $40.94, the company's market capitalization would need to rise from about $11.7 billion to roughly $23.4 billion.

Analysts expect Applied Digital's revenues to be close to $500 million in calendar year 2026. At the current market capitalization of about $11.7 billion, the stock already trades at roughly 23.4 times expected calendar 2026 sales. If the market cap doubles to about $23.4 billion, Applied Digital would trade at nearly 46.8 times expected 2026 sales. That looks expensive if investors focus only on near-term revenue.

However, Wall Street does not appear to be valuing Applied Digital based on near-term revenues. The company's $36 billion of contracted base-term lease revenue, when spread over the initial 15-year lease terms, translates into an annual contracted revenue opportunity of about $2.4 billion. A $23.4 billion market value would equal roughly 9.75 times that annualized contracted lease revenue base.

While still not cheap, it becomes more reasonable if investors start viewing Applied Digital as a prominent AI infrastructure player with long-term hyperscaler-backed revenue.
